Morgan
Happy weekend, everybody. Abby is joining me. What's up, Abby?
Abby
What's up?
Morgan
Excited to talk. Talk about all the things.
Abby
Yeah. We have a lot to catch up on.
Morgan
Yes. Like, I want to hear about your birthday trip because it looks so much fun. And the boyfriend went all out, so. Tell me about it.
Abby
Oh, he did? Oh, my gosh. Cuz, like, you and I were talking before because I had not been to a theme park in forever. You know, you were like, oh, my gosh, you better take, like, Dramamine or whatever for motion sickness. I didn't get sick.
Morgan
That's amazing.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
You were just ready to rock and roll and you went on everything.
Abby
Uhhuh. You know, it's crazy because we went on Sunday because it was only open on Sunday. I guess they rented it out for a company on Saturday. I was like, what?
Morgan
Okay.
Abby
Yeah, Yeah, I know. Because our Sunday. Like, I have Sunday scaries all the time, so it's not ideal.
Morgan
I don't want to be doing a bunch of stuff on a Sunday.
Abby
Right. But it's actually fun. But we drank, like, the night before, and I like the first ride. Oh, my. I was like. Because I didn't want to drink too much because being hungover at a theme park, that's no fun. But we went to. If you missed it or whatever it was in Atlanta, it was Six Flags over Georgia. Trying to think of it on me.
Morgan
I was like, I have no idea what it was called because it's only.
Abby
Like, it's less than four hours from us.
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby
I can't believe. Perfect. Yeah. I hadn't been.
Morgan
Do they have crazy coasters there?
Abby
Oh, my gosh. They were wild, like, upside down. Everyone you can imagine. Like, I think there was, like, 10 main roller coasters, which I'm not used to because we went to Worlds of Fun.
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby
There's like, a couple or, you know. Yeah.
Morgan
Worlds of fun of. What I remember was more water park. Maybe that's just more what we did when we were there.
Abby
Yeah, there were a lot of those.
Morgan
Okay.
Abby
But, like, I remember the Mamba. That was always my favorite. Or it goes, like, straight down and then, like, Orient Express or whatever. But those were so. Your head hurts because they're so, like, rough. There were a few on this one, but, like, not too bad. It was so fun. Yeah.
Morgan
And your boyfriend loves roller coasters too.
Abby
Yeah. But he hadn't been on in forever either, either, so we were, like, really nervous, but.
Morgan
And neither one of you got sick?
Abby
No, no, it was awesome. Yeah, it was so fun. I would go again, and there were no lines. It was just, like, the perfect time.
Morgan
And how was it having a full weekend of a boyfriend who just was celebrating the heck out of you?
Abby
Yeah, that doesn't. That never happened before. Remember the one that, like, forgot my birthday?
Morgan
I do remember the one.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
Horrible dude.
Abby
I know. And so I think he, like, realized or knows how important it is to me. And so, yeah, we went to a steak restaurant Friday night in Nashville. It was, like, the best. It's called Oak. It's downtown Oak Steakhouse. Best steak I've ever had. And then what'd we do? Oh, Saturday, what did we do? Oh, we drove to Atlanta. Saturday we stopped in Chattanooga, and I saw a friend from high school I haven't seen. He just moved there. We got ice cream at Ice Cream Show. Have you been there? It's called the Ice Cream show, and it has, like, thousands of combinations of ice cream.
Morgan
Well, when I can eat dairy again, I'm going, oh, my gosh.
Abby
I know. We need to talk about that, too. I want an update, because I don't know how you're doing that.
Morgan
I'm barely surviving, but.
Abby
Oh, my gosh, please. We'll talk about that. And then we went to Atlanta, and he got a hotel with, like, there's, like, the 360 view on top, and that was so cool.
Morgan
And you were rotating.
Abby
Yeah. Okay.
Morgan
I remember you mentioning that you were rotating on the big show. And I. So I saw. I went to a rotating bar. I think it's called the Carousel in Louisiana. New Orleans. And that one made me sick. I think. I'm just not. I'm not good with twisty, turny things.
Abby
Oh, wow.
Morgan
But that one moved fast.
Abby
It's like the floor moves, right?
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby
Okay. Yeah.
Morgan
And I literally. I was, like, halfway through my drink, I was like, I don't think I'm going to last much longer. Oh, my gosh.
Abby
So we were probably there 45 minutes, and then it did a full rotation.
Morgan
I think within that 45 minutes. You're moving very slow then.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
Okay. This one was much faster.
Abby
What kind of place?
Morgan
I don't know. And maybe because it wasn't super like, yours seems more wide because I was at the top of a building. This was at, like, the bottom, I guess, of a building. So it was a pretty small circle. So you're rotating pretty quickly.
Abby
Yeah. You don't do the. The dizzy well or the ones that spin?
Morgan
No, nothing. Spinning. Just don't make me spin, you know, don't even turn me in a circle. I'll never be a ballerina.
Abby
Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Because at the theme park or whatever, there were those high swings, you know, that they have at carnivals or fairs or whatever. But this one went. It was, like, higher than any of the rides. And I. Yeah, we didn't do well on that one. That was the one where we were like, oh, my gosh. I just, like, closed my eyes.
Morgan
Really? You got sick on that one.
Abby
It was super windy and just, like, focused on one spot, you know, because you're just, like, spinning, so. Yeah, I can kind of see that because it was super high up.
Morgan
Well, I'm glad that's the only one that it happened on and didn't ruin the whole day or anything like that.
Abby
It was so fun. And then the Batman ride, that was, like, my favorite. It was awesome because it's like those kinds that you're walking up to it, and it has all, like, the. Like, you're out down in, like, a. I don't know.
Morgan
It's the queue line that has. The queue is really cool. Leading up to the roller coaster.
Abby
That's what it's called.
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby
Oh, my God. Oh, the queue. Yeah. I didn't know that, but it was cool.
Morgan
And they really decorated it and went all out. Normally, you only see that at places Universal and Disney, so.
Abby
Right.
Morgan
It's cool that Six Flags is stepping up their game.
Abby
I know. I was like, this is awesome. So, yeah, we had fun. Then we drove back. I worked in the car and. Yeah. But it was really fun weekend. And then his kids, like, surprised me with balloons and flowers when they got home, like, before my birthday. And I was like, oh, my gosh. They're so cute. Really sweet.
Morgan
That's so sweet.
Abby
I know.
Morgan
So officially can mark off the fact that you have a good boyfriend who wants to celebrate you.
Abby
Yes. Yeah. I'm like, wow, it really is. Yeah. So it was awesome.
Morgan
I'm really happy for you. That's really exciting. And speaking of Nashville, you mentioned Oak Steakhouse, but you also said that a lot of listeners call in and want recommendations and things to do and all of that.
Abby
They call in every day and they're like, hey, I just want to ask, like, everybody's favorite places. And since we're like a national show, it's hard to do that, you know, because, like, we would want to talk about every city. So I always say, like, I guess, where would you recommend, I guess online, that you have it? I say, go to your blog online.
Morgan
Or go to Morgan's or one that. That does a whole lot in Nashville. You do, too. You just don't really post them, so. That's right. More word is yeah. But yeah, I have a whole highlight on my Instagram page at Webgirl. Morgan. But I will list some here because I have put together my entire Nashville favorites list.
Abby
Love it.
Morgan
And this will help you. And at any point in time, if you hear any of these, be like, retweet. If you're like, yes, I love this one. Okay. So for Mexican food, I'm just listing these, so you may have to slow me down super fast. I don't want to take up too much time. But Mexican food, we got El Fuego Blanco, Las Palmas, and Butchertown Hall Blanco.
Abby
Yep. Been there. Love it.
Morgan
Great one. We've got Italian, Palado, Cocos, Ella's, Amerigo, Iggy's in Saint Vito. Foshira. I'm never going to say that. Right. Focaccia.
Abby
Focaccia, like the bread. Yeah.
Morgan
I had to find it because it's all bread. Like, it's all these different versions of focaccia.
Abby
Oh, I love Italian.
Morgan
So good. So any of those Cocos. Cocos.
Abby
I've been there. Love it.
Morgan
Have you ever been to Palado?
Abby
I've been to Amerigo.
Morgan
Okay. So, like. And I'll. I'll get my. My top favorite of all of these. After American, we got the Henry fancy pants, Barcelona, 60 vines, bourbon steak, House of Cards, Le Petit Chef, and Postino Bourbon. Bourbon.
Abby
Pricey.
Morgan
Bourbon Steak is, I would say, for a very fancy night out.
Abby
Yeah. If you want to go all out. Is it kind of hard to get in sometimes?
Morgan
Yeah. I think you just at least need a reservation. That's not one that I would suggest walking up to unless you go right when they open or. Because it's also a really cool view of the city. So that's why it's sometimes harder to get in. But definitely pricey. So that's.
Abby
Yeah, but it's good.
Morgan
It's really good. Their sides were bomb. They had really good dessert because I don't eat steak, but I loved that place. For drinks, I've got Skinny Dennis pushing Daisies, the Amsterdamian, Attaboy, Shulman's Autos, Tiger Bar, Golden Sound, Ember, Ski Lodge, and play date.
Abby
So many. Ooh, play dates. Fun. There's a slide. You were just there recently. Yeah, I love going there. Huh?
Morgan
That's a cool spot.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
Any others on there? I'm sure you've been to a lot of those.
Abby
Yeah, I've been to quite a few of those. I like. I always go to Edley's for barbecue. Like, that's just my go to. It's not right downtown, but it's in 12 South. Like, my recommendation when you're in Nashville is kind of go by area, you know, like, do spend time downtown. And then another favorite is like, 12 South, Midtown, Germantown and East Nashville. Those are kind of like the main. I guess in the gulch, those are like the main areas. And then you can just like, kind of explore. That's what I like doing.
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby
Look at menus.
Morgan
And that's a good point about all the different areas, because 12 south is also one of my favorites. I just love it. If you want to shop and walk around, a bunch of the places I mentioned are there. You got play date. You have what's.
Abby
Why did you say urban grub?
Morgan
No, I didn't say that one. But Postino is there. Embers Key Lodge is there for drinks. So a few of those. And then East Nashville. Those are my two kind of favorite locations in Nashville. And if you've never been to Broadway, you should absolutely check out Broadway. But if you're not a big drinker, Broadway is not gonna be your scene. It's kind of overwhelming if you're sober.
Abby
During the day, I mean, like, at night, ooh, it gets wild.
Morgan
But during the day, on, like a Saturday, it's about the same as the evening. So it just depends when you're coming. But just, you know, be prepared for that. It's fun, and you have to see it, at least walk it. But also, you know, there's a lot of other cool parts about Nashville than just Broadway, and even just Midtown, for that matter. Downtown in general, there's East Nashville is my favorite place for going out to have drinks and dinner. And 12 south is my favorite for daytime and walking around, having a drink and shopping. And I also really love fifth and Broadway. There's a lot there. You can shop and have drinks. That's where Blanco and 60 Vines is.
Abby
It's so cute there. And inside, like, they're every kind of food you can imagine inside. Yeah, a little. What's it called? Cafeteria.
Morgan
Kind of the food hall. Food hall, you know, so lots of options for everybody. Yeah. I would say one day you should spend 5th and Broadway, downtown Broadway, because that's all kind of right by each other. Another, like, during the day, 12 south, you can day drink, you can hang out, shop, and then spend the evening in East Nashville. And then if you're open to it. There's like 8 million waterfalls. Water bottles. I don't know what a waterfall is, but.
Abby
Wait, that's. What is it?
Morgan
Waterfalls.
Abby
Oh, my.
Morgan
What I was trying to say. Talking too fast.
Abby
That's funny. How do you feel about pedal taverns and the party buses and all those? How do you feel?
Morgan
I think if you're coming to town to do things, it's the wrong thing to do.
Abby
Really?
Morgan
Yeah. I mean, I get it. If you're a bachelorette bachelor party and all you guys are doing is spending your weekend drinking, then, yeah, it adds a little bit of spice to the party. But if you're coming with some family or friends and just wanting to really experience Nashville, that's not the way I would do it. What are your thoughts?
Abby
Well, I thought I did the Pedal Tavern with friends. I thought it was so fun. It was so fun. I want to do it again. Really Time ago.
Morgan
It is so fun. But I had fun because it was here and I live here.
Abby
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You definitely want to be with a big group, you know, not just maybe like two or three of you. Like. I don't know. Yeah.
Morgan
And I guess. I don't know. I don't know that that's my way to see a city. I think I'm more adventurous and I want to see everything versus being on a pedal tavern for a couple hours and seeing. I'd rather just bar hop on my own in a new city. And maybe that's why they have, like.
Abby
The tour buses you can hop on and hop off of. Right. That look like a trolley.
Morgan
I've never done them, but I see a lot of people doing them.
Abby
Yeah. That might show around, you know, show you different areas or give you ideas.
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby
For the history of the city, which is also cool.
Morgan
I think if you wanted to, like, drink and have fun too, I would more. So go up, like, Arrington Vineyards, go a little bit outside the city and go to the Vineyard and have a whole day drinking there. That would be more fun to me than the Petal Tavern.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
Or I would also suggest there's cool bars like Play Downtown is. Has so many games and stuff that you can just spend all day drinking and hanging out. We have a lot of places like that, so I think I'd rather spend time doing those than the Petal Tavern. But I get it.
Abby
There's a.
Morgan
There's a excitingness to it, especially if you live in a city that doesn't have them.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
You know what I mean? There's that level of it. And if you have a really big group, it's hard to find enough things to do with a really big group. So I'd weigh your options. If you're coming with a small group, go do other fun things. But if you have a big group and you're trying to find multiple things to do, that's a good option.
Abby
Yeah, for sure.
Morgan
What else you got on your list?
Abby
What else do I have? I mean, the Country Music hall of Fame. That's fun. I mean, there's a lot in there, so.
Morgan
Yeah, very. I'm not a good. I'm not a very good history person. I've been trying to get more into history stuff and just seen it or whatever, but I. Even as someone who's not huge into all that, I love the Country Music.
Abby
Hall of Fame and seeing, like, what they wore and their instruments and stuff.
Morgan
And they have a huge vinyl wall. That's really cool.
Abby
Yeah, that's awesome. I like category 10 and Lainey Wilson's bar and then Chiefs, Eric Church's bar. Those are, like, my favorite on Broadway.
Morgan
Chiefs is one of my favorites as well. For downtown Broadway. Lainey Wilson's. Yeah. If you're a big sports fan, category 10 has a cool sports viewing area and bedding, I think, too.
Abby
That is insane. I went up there. They have, like, recliners and, like, a couch. It's the coolest thing ever.
Morgan
Yeah. And. But besides that. Yeah, I would say if there's anyone I'm ever gonna go to, it's probably gonna be Chiefs. I love dueling piano bars and they have that. And then Pushing Daisies is my favorite bar, actually, on Broadway. It's an underground margarita bar.
Abby
Oh, yeah. Oh, I did go there once.
Morgan
That was really cool.
Abby
Isn't the bar, like, lit up? Yeah, it's like marble, but very vibey.
Morgan
Sometimes they have jazz music down there or 12:30 club in general. They're rooftop. And they're also. They have a cool lounge area that has jazz music. Sometimes that's cool for, like, Broadway type food. And yeah, Blanco is one of my favorites down there, so. And then also, let's see here. I've got brunch options, Adele's Mockingbird Guy, Stateside Kitchen, and Loveless Cafe for brunch ideas. Fancy dinner. I did put Bourbon steak on it. I also had fancy pants. The standard in House of Cards. Some crossover in those American ones. And I also get lots of requests of. I'm just gonna quickly read some of these so people can write them down. Casual breakfast, lunch, picnic, Cafe Benji's Bagels, JMA's. It's a breakfast burrito truck and you will not be sad about that. Dos Santos also has a breakfast burrito window. My personal favorite, paint like breakfast is pancake pantry. It's always worth the line. You actually don't wait that long. It's really good. Cafe Intermezzo, Proper bagel, Lady bird Taco. If you want Greek food, Anatolia is one of my favorites. Thai, sushi, Asian food. Bite a bit. 210 Jack Oku. I told you. I made like a whole amazing.
Abby
That's awesome.
Morgan
Desserts. We got Matheson's Fry Scream. If you come when Fry Scream is open, they serve ice cream with fries.
Abby
That's so cute. I walked by the other day and there were like kids and families and it's so good.
Morgan
Abby.
Abby
Is it?
Morgan
If you are a person who likes your frosty with fries growing up.
Abby
If you did that, which I didn't.
Morgan
You didn't. Well, you also don't eat fry butts, so this makes sense. We're tracking in the right direction here.
Abby
You know, I don't want fry butts like in my ice cream. I don't know.
Morgan
Okay, well, you have the other fry in the ice cream and it's so good. You can do do different combinations of the ice cream and the fries. Different seasonings.
Abby
Really?
Morgan
It's really good.
Abby
That is so odd to me.
Morgan
Oh, it's so good.
Abby
What kind of seasoning?
Morgan
Well, you could do like black pepper. You could truffle. You could do hot, like spicy or ice cream. And then you can do vanilla ice cream. I always do chocolate ice cream with their gluten free waffle fries. And I. Oh, that's interesting. When I can eat dairy again, I'll be going back. But they might not be open because they're typically open open when it's like warm and nice outside. And of course Jenny's ice cream is great. And for some activities we mentioned Arrington. This is what I. This is my activities list. That'd be fun. You can make a bracelet at Little words project. You can make a goo goo cluster at Google Cluster hq, which is so much fun. Arrington vineyard pins mechanical, which is duck pin bowling. And then put shack, which is mini golf.
Abby
Yeah, those are all good.
Morgan
So lots of things there. I'm just not. I, I think if you've never been, you should absolutely go to Broadway. But if you have been and, or you know, and you don't really care that much, just pop in and see it. And there's so much else outside of Nashville to go see so much.
Abby
It gets so overwhelming, you know, in a new city. Oh yeah.
Morgan
I especially even just in my current cleanse and stuff, I haven't tried places and I think 15, 20 places I've started adding to my list. I'm like, I don't even know if I'm gonna be able to eat these again, but hopefully one day.
Abby
Oh my gosh. Yeah.
Morgan
Yeah. So I'll, I'll fill you in, but let's take a quick break right here. If you're waiting for your AI to turn into ROI and wondering how long you have to wait, maybe you need to do more than wait. Morgan
Yeah, so you know how you were doing the extended fast after Kane Brown, the 72 Hour?
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
So you did 72 hours only drink water, right? And coffee, right? Black coffee?
Abby
Well, I don't like black coffee, so nope, I was just having water.
Morgan
Okay. So that's part of my detox cleanse is once a week I do an extended fast.
Abby
Oh my gosh. How is it going like in general? Are you feeling better?
Morgan
Yes.
Abby
Really?
Morgan
Overall, I feel like a lot of inflammation has gone from my body. I feel a little bit more clear headed. I don't feel as tired all the time, but it's also just been an interesting road because I've, I've learned so much in my, my body is in just basically constant chaos and stress. So outside of what I've made a lot of changes to do, my body is like not ready to fully detox yet because it's not safe. It doesn't feel ready to let go of stuff that it's, it feels like it's protecting me. And it's interesting because I don't feel stressed. Like, I don't feel. I have super stressful things happening, but based on just my heart rate and my body temperature, my body's in a constant state of stress.
Abby
Oh my gosh. If yours is, I don't want to know mine, but keep going.
Morgan
Yeah, no, and it's been like, I'm like, okay, so how do we fix this? She's like, we just have to keep like reminding your body in different ways, whether it's food or, or trying these different detox methods is like, you're safe and you don't have to stress. It's like really trying to. I even saw a video of somebody talking about this where everything they did was just rushed.
Abby
Everything.
Morgan
It was constantly, you're just constantly moving on the go. You never had a moment where you just kind of slowed down and allowed life to happen. And when I look at my life, I'm very much that way. Yeah, I'm not good at relaxing I'm not good at downtime and I always have so much to do that I don't have a lot of downtime. And so it's, it's been frustrating because I have all the tools and resources now to help myself get better, but I haven't created an environment to get better, if that makes any sense at all.
Abby
Yeah, it does.
Morgan
Like, you know, it's just that's also not how most people are. Most people, we work for hours and hours a day and you go home and you have so much to do. I can't even imagine having kids and the whole, you know, ordeal that comes with that, that you never get to relax and let your body chill out and try and like calm your nervous system and do all these things that you're supposed to do. And that just makes me really sad that that's such a big factor of what's chronically hurting so many people.
Abby
Yeah. Oh, for sure. Yeah.
Morgan
Super fast paced environment.
Abby
Yeah. I feel like I feel it with me all the time too. Like, you don't even have time to like think about your health or, you know, it's just like, go, go, go, go, go. And you're just tired and it's like a never ending cycle. And it's like, how do you break that when.
Morgan
How do you break it when you're trying to help yourself survive? Like, you have to work.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
You have to make money. And unless you grind really hard, it's kind of hard to make a lot of money. You know, they don't make it easy to go out there and work a normal job that makes you feel less stressed and make good money.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
So it's just a, it's a really interesting situation that I feel like I'm now in. Like, I do feel better, but to fully be able to get the benefits of what I'm doing, I have to get my body to chill out and stop being so high stressed and high strung. And I just don't really know how that's gonna work.
Abby
Yeah. How do you do that? What do you change first? Like, you take on less. You stop saying yes to so much.
Morgan
Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's a lot of that's rewiring your brain to allow yourself to breathe, relax, live in the moment, be present, not rush things like try and not fill your schedule so much that you are doing that and trying to figure out what's necessary versus what can hold off. Like, I'm notorious for creating to do lists and I love crossing things off that to do list. So as soon as I get one thing done, I can't wait to start crossing off more.
Abby
Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Yeah, it just. And then that's never ending. You're like, oh, this feels so good to keep going. Yep.
Morgan
And you keep adding more things and then you keep crossing them off. There's never a break. So I'm really having to, like, restrain myself from putting so much on me. Whether that's work or life or activities or being social. Like, I've had to just really kind of turn in. And I don't want to say hermit, because I don't think that's healthy, but in this space in my life right now, I kind of am. I've just had to say no a whole lot more and put my, like, healing first ahead of all of that. And as someone as you would feel, who's super social and loves to do things and live life, that's really hard.
Abby
It is.
Morgan
You feel like you have fomo. You feel like you're missing out on things. You feel like you're. You know, I don't feel like the best friend I've ever been because I can't do things. And no, I. You know, anybody could ever come over and hang out and sit with me and watch a movie, but, like, that's not what most people want to do because they're not in the same space right now. It's just a. It's a weird. I don't know, I just. I feel like I'm in a weird space right now.
Abby
Yeah, you're definitely not alone. You know, like, there's certain people I hang out with, and they are just, like, so calm, have no. No worries. So slow paced. And I'm like, oh, my gosh, speed it up, speed it up. But it's such, like, I wish I had more of that in me.
Morgan
Yep.
Abby
I'm just like, oh, my gosh. How do you have the ability to not be? I just know my mind is just always going, I want to walk faster. I want the elevator to get here sooner. You know, I have, like, road rage and people are going slow. So stuff like that that I wish I didn't have. And it's like, man, how do you stop?
Morgan
Well, and it's a, like, conscious rewiring of your brain to say, hey, we don't need to go fast, or, hey, this can take them, like, take a beat, have a breath.
Abby
I know.
Morgan
And it's even. I am listening now to, like, higher frequency sounds because it's supposed to help with stress and, like, teaching Your body that it's safe. I mean, when I tell you I'm trying everything, just you are. See what my body will respond to, be ready for. It's crazy. It feels crazy. I feel, you know, like, what am I doing? Heck, I. Even the other day I had like another stressful situation. And for the first time I allowed myself to cry because of a stressful situation. Normally I'm just like, get it together and move forward. We got stuff to do. And the other day I literally cried and then just slept for three hours.
Abby
Oh, wow.
Morgan
And it was all it was because. So I learned. I went back to the dentist. I've had. I've talked about this on the show. I've had cavities more than I ever have in my entire life. Up until pre Covid, I had zero cavities and now I think I've had seven or eight filled. Now I just went back and there's one that could possibly be a root canal. And I cried in the office and I'm like, I don't want a root count. Also, mind you, needles are my worst fear. So anything with dental work just makes my body go in the opposite direction. And, you know, I was talking to like my integrative health practitioner. She's like, yeah, your body has a whole lot of bacteria that's just holding onto and you're mouth health is coordinated to your gut micro, microbiome. And there's all these connections that are happening. And like, we see it and we know what it is. It's just trying to get your body to release and let go. And like, well, I just added more to that stress, so.
Abby
Oh my gosh. Yeah.
Morgan
And it's crazy how it's just. You realize how everything is so connected. I think that's more of my lesson that I've learned is everything, every choice that I make, everything I do, every single day has an impact on my health and what I'm doing and putting in my body. And that is. It's exhausting.
Abby
Yeah, it is. That's wild about the cavities. I've always had cavities my whole life. But they say it's like genetic, like, and it is.
Morgan
I think there's some genetic predisposition there, but that's.
Abby
Yeah, that's bioed.
Morgan
It's a weird translation between like never having them to. In the last three years, I've had all of these issues and that's just another.
Abby
Another one.
Morgan
Yeah, like, pile on to everything else. It's crazy that, you know, they're in There's. And I know some people are going to hear and be like, they're. You know, that's not possible, and that's not what it is. But I can only do what feels necessary and right for my body at this moment and try and be as educated as I can to help myself and, like, willing to try everything to feel better. But it's also. It makes me really sad that it takes that much to get better.
Abby
I know.
Morgan
You know what I mean?
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
Most people can do this. This is not available to majority of people. Is eating healthy available? Yeah. But it's also expensive, and everybody wants to say it's not, but, you know, you want to actually get foods that are fully organic or from a farm and do farmers markets and stuff. It's expensive. Like, that's a. That costs a lot of money. And it's also time. And as we just talked about, like, we don't have time. Most people don't have time to cook every single meal and put all these ingredients and. And it's definitely an active choice you have to make. But I just feel for, you know, the moms out there who want this and want to feel better and do these things, or the dads, and they just don't have the space or the scope or the time. And that just makes me sad. It should not be this hard to just feel good. You know what I mean?
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
I should have to do this much effort to feel good.
Abby
I know. You shouldn't. You should. You should look at it just kind of like, what can you bring in? You know, like, what are some good things, baby steps that you can bring in? What are, like, small things you can eliminate? Because if you look at it. Yeah, just, like, overwhelm. It just overwhelms you with things. But if you just kind of start eliminating things and hopefully seeing a difference. Yeah, it's. It's a lot of, like, trial and error, which is really frustrating, too.
Morgan
Yeah. Because you don't have time. Like, it all goes back to time, and time is very valuable. It's precious. And, you know, it's also like, yeah, your health is one of the most important things, but dang, it just shouldn't be that hard.
Abby
I know.
Morgan
Like, you should be able to go to the doctor and be like, yeah, this is good. Okay. Or, you know, like, let's. Let's try and incorporate. Or you can go eat food wherever and you'll be fine. It's just wild. And I don't know that I'll ever be able to be In a place where that fully is 100% healed. So it's. I feel like I've just like, I go through ups and downs. Like I'm like, this is going really well. Then I'm like, holy crap, this is a lot. And then it's.
Abby
I know. No, like I've had anxiety for like since I moved to Nashville. It's really weird. Like I didn't have it in Kansas and when I go back home I don't have it. Like, how odd is that? It's really strange. But I started taking anti anxiety meds and I was like, oh, I'm just going to take them for like a year or so or just to get it under control. I'm still taking them. That's not something I want to do. You know, I don't want to just because they're not working anymore. Like, they're just not. So I. There's that too. It's like, what do you do with anxiety? Anxiety? You know, I exercise and do all that and I don't know what it is.
Morgan
Well, and it's, it's so tough, right? Because the woo woo side of me says, okay, well then you needed to be in a more slow paced environment. The city is like really just not doing well for your body. And. And then also, you know, it's that tough actual medical side of like weaning off those meds and what that looks like and do you do more damage? There's just so many. I think the thing that's super frustrating is every time I look into things and try and educate myself and understand what's happening is I feel like I end up with more questions than I ever do answers. You know what I mean?
Abby
Yeah, no, that's so true.
Morgan
I'm like, okay, now what? Yeah, like okay, now, now it's this or this is that so like I totally get that. And it's also like, I think if all of us had a more slow paced environment in general, we would be better. But that's just not the place we've created in general.
Abby
It's just not in Kansas.
Morgan
It's pretty slow paced. So I do see a correlation there.
Abby
Right. But also me moving to Nashville was me into the real world, you know, like I didn't have real responsibilities really. You know, like in college you're studying and working towards stuff. In high school you don't have worries. But when I moved here is when I'm like, oh, things, things are real. You got to figure out what you're doing. You know, everything so. But it's also genetic. My mom, my grandma, you know, have extreme anxiety.
Morgan
So there it is.
Abby
There, that's where it comes in.
Morgan
There is correlation to food with anxiety too.
Abby
But coffee that I shouldn't be drinking every morning, they say, I don't know, stay away from caffeine.
Morgan
It's also a balance. Like, you gotta do what makes you happy. And also, I, I don't know, like. Yeah, again, more questions than answers always, truly. And that's frustrating.
Abby
So. Yeah, it's probably just. Yeah. More trial and error. I just need to do that. Which. Yeah. Haven't really been.
Morgan
But again, that requires time, that requires a lot of changes. And Yeah, I, you know, I just have, I just have a lot of empathy for people because I. There's so many people that have reached out who are struggling with just so much chronic illness or things that they're going through and it just, that just makes me sad. We're in a, you know, a chronic state of people feeling sick and that sucks.
Abby
It really does.
Morgan
So I hope, I hope everybody can start to find things that help them and, and get better. And I don't, I don't think there's a one fix all for anybody. I think it, everybody's gonna have a different journey to get to that point. It's going to be very specific to whoever. Just like yours is going to be different than mine, but.
Abby
Right. So when are you done with your like cleanse?
Morgan
Technically supposed to be done at the end of the day. October.
Abby
Okay.
Morgan
But it just kind of depends on where I'm at, if I'm feeling better or.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
You know how that continues. So I do think the gluten free and eating less dairy, I, I can't go completely dairy free. God, I miss cheese so much. So much.
Abby
I cannot believe it. How have you been doing that? You love cheese.
Morgan
Yeah, it has been. I have learned that I have a lot of self control that I didn't think I had. So that's been cool.
Abby
You haven't had any drinks or anything?
Morgan
No, I haven't drank at all since it started.
Abby
That's crazy.
Morgan
Yeah. Yeah, it's wild.
Abby
That's really good. I'm like looking over here in my head like, wow, how are you doing this?
Morgan
Yeah, the self control has been crazy. But Yeah, I don't know. So.
Abby
But it needs, sometimes it just needs to be done. You gotta just go all in.
Morgan
And I had really hit that point where it was time where I was like, okay, something has to change and we gotta try something different. So, yeah. Anyways, we're gonna take a quick break. We'll come back.
Abby
Okay.
Morgan
No more Clint. Sorry if I was a little soapboxy. I'm just like, super frustrated for people, myself included. And Abby, who's also sitting here going through it. She didn't even realize she was going through. She's like, dang it. Okay, we'll be right back. All right, so speaking of, you had went on your trip? I had done Gatlinburg. You want to go to another amusement park? There's one in Gatlinburg.
Abby
What? What is it?
Morgan
At the top of a mountain.
Abby
Wait, is it like Anakeesta? Yeah, I wanted to do it. It was closed. Why was it closed when I went? I think high winds. Huh.
Morgan
Well, it is on the top of a mountain, so I guess that makes sense. Wind would be a factor.
Abby
Wait, so what's up there?
Morgan
Well, it would have been a lot more fun if I was eating and drinking, because I couldn't do either. But it's really cool. It very much is. You can walk around. They have the treetop skywalk up there, which I guess is really cool. At night. We didn't get to see it at night, but they have some rides up there. There's a coaster. I don't know that it's like a crazy coaster, like big drops or anything, but you're in a solo thing. We saw it, and they have live music going on up there. When we were there, it was the Oktoberfest. They were doing a whole. Drinking beer in all the different places, and it was just cool. It was a cool little, like, surprise in the middle of downtown Gatlinburg.
Abby
That's so cute.
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby
Oh, my gosh. Yeah.
Morgan
So you guys should do that one.
Abby
For sure, because you have to take a lift. Yep. And that's what we. We were in line and they were like, sorry, high winds. You have to close it down. I'm like, no. Yeah.
Morgan
Because there's also multiple lifts in Gatlinburg, but there's only one that, like, goes to this one. We're trying to figure out which one.
Abby
Do you go on?
Morgan
What's the difference in all of them? And I was like, oh, it looks like there's, like, a little town up there. And there was. There was a whole little town.
Abby
So cool.
Morgan
And really cool views. There's cool places to eat where you could sit and just look at the mountains.
Abby
So I love it there. I know.
Morgan
And we saw another bear.
Abby
Oh, my gosh. I haven't seen a Bear. Really? Yeah. A black bear? Yeah.
Morgan
It was a little teenager.
Abby
That's so cute.
Morgan
We were actually leaving our Airbnb, and at the end of the road, my boyfriend was like, is that a cat?
Abby
I was like, that's a bear. Is that a cat?
Morgan
Well, because it's, like, far enough away that just, like, looked black. And as we, like, drove up next to it, started running away, and I got video footage of it. It's just, like, running low. Floppy ears.
Abby
Just by itself. Yeah. Where was the mom?
Morgan
I don't think it was a baby anymore. It was at the point of teenage life, so it had separated from mama because we were looking for mama just in case we were in a car, so we would have been fine.
Abby
But that's so cute. I used to see news stories. Quite a bit of Gatlinburg. Like, bears downtown. It's just, like, a thing.
Morgan
And we didn't see any downtown, but we did. This is when we were in Townsend, which is where we were for Hillary's wedding.
Abby
Oh, my gosh. Can you. I want to hear about it. Yeah. He looked so pretty.
Morgan
Yeah, she was. She was so stinking cute. My two favorite moments, first of all. Yeah. Beautiful scenery. They found a beautiful spot for a wedding. It was in Townsend, Tennessee, and the mountains were the backdrop. But two of my favorite parts. One was she had her grandma and his. They were the flower girls.
Abby
Oh, stop.
Morgan
And they were throwing the flower petals as they walked down the aisle, and it was adorable. Like, genuinely one of the cutest things ever. And then for the reception, you know, when they announced, like, welcome, Mrs. And Mr. For the first time, they had her dog on a leash with them when they entered it. And she had a bandana that said I do, too. It was so stinking cute.
Abby
Oh, my God, I'm so happy for her. I love her.
Morgan
Oh, my gosh.
Abby
And he's so nice, too.
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby
Because it's funny, I had met him, like, before they even met.
Morgan
Yeah. Because he works in the industry.
Abby
Yeah. And I was always like, he is just the nicest guy every time I see him. And then I'm like, wait, what? They're dating? That's so perfect. And that's awesome.
Morgan
Yeah. Because they're both just super kind and. Yeah. I love. I love both of them. And together they're a great couple. So it was really fun and just cool. Full circle moment from our entire friendship of starting. And, you know, she. She had reached a point where she's just like, I just don't. I don't know. I Think everybody reaches that moment right before it happens. You had it. I feel like I had it right before this boyfriend where it was like, I'm never gonna find anyone. This is not gonna happen for me. And I just need to accept what's going on.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
And then it happens. And you're like, okay, never mind. I guess.
Abby
Oh, my gosh. I remember having those conversations with her when she worked for the show, and we were both single. We're like, what is happening?
Morgan
Why?
Abby
Like, why?
Morgan
You very much have it. And so she did, and now it's like, the best thing that ever happened. So that was super cool.
Abby
Were you in the wedding?
Morgan
We were, like, part of it in ways. She. They didn't have very many because they both had brothers and sisters. So they just had them as their wedding parties. And then they had us doing other things, and we took pictures with her. We wore certain outfits. And also helped wrangle her dog because I was like, I volunteer for that activity, which I did. There was a moment when there was a blessing that was happening over the food. And so it was super quiet. But the venue, it was all open, like garage doors where you were sitting for the reception. And my boyfriend just leans over and was like, I believe the dog got loose. And I just, like, jump out of my chair. Like, where is she? And I see her and she's taken off outside of the venue. And I'm freaking out because I'm like, we just saw a bear. This is bear territory. No, you cannot get away. And I'm running after her in my dress and heels. And thank goodness there were some employees at the end of the drive who we were like, grab her, grab her, grab her. And they were able to. But for a moment there, my life, my life. And her life flashed before my eyes.
Abby
Oh, my gosh. Where would she have gone? Would she just keep running?
Morgan
Yes.
Abby
Really?
Morgan
She's a wild baby.
Abby
I don't know how some. You know, some, they wouldn't.
Morgan
They would go. She was not listening to me. She had a one track mind. She was just wanting to say hi to people. She had pushed herself out of the bridal suite. Like there was a door, and she pushed open the door, and I just. Yeah, it was so funny.
Abby
And.
Morgan
And Hillary keeps laughing because she's like, I keep hearing about how you saved my dog during a really big moment. And I was like, I did. But that was. It's not important. She's fine. Everything's fine.
Abby
And no one saw because they're, like, praying.
Morgan
Yeah. But there was commotion so there was enough people that opened their eyes to be like, what's going on?
Abby
Oh, my God.
Morgan
You just see me running, like in a really tight dress trying to chase after her dog Georgie.
Abby
So that is so scary when you're like, in charge of someone else's dog or, you know, you don't know what they're gonna do and you're like, oh, my gosh, I need you to come back right now.
Morgan
Yeah. And her. Her best friend from home was really taking most of those duties. So I. It was like the one moment where I was like, okay, I got you. I'll go chase after her.
Abby
Oh, man. Okay. Well, I'm glad you got her back.
Morgan
Yeah, it was super cute. So. Yeah, that was good.
Abby
But I love that.
Morgan
I think that's all I have. Do you have anything else to add to the party before we jump out of here?
Abby
I don't think so. I can think of.
Morgan
I do want to talk about this because speaking of the ski lift and maybe you've had a moment of this.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
And you've probably seen like the memes and the reels and stuff where it's like you ran into a bunch of people's first day on earth.
Abby
Oh, my. Yeah.
Morgan
Do you know what I'm talking about?
Abby
I feel like that's been happening to me so much lately. I saw the airport one.
Morgan
Yes.
Abby
Is that what you're talking about?
Morgan
So there's. That's the one I saw. But my incident of it was when we were getting on the ski lift.
Abby
Oh, my.
Morgan
You would think standing in line. I don't know if we are just not paying attention, if our awareness is just so horrible or what, but we're standing in line for the ski lift and it got stopped four different times in the five minute time that we were standing in this waiting line because people stopped it because they didn't know how to get on, mind you. There's four workers standing there telling you exactly where to stand, what to do, when to sit on the thing and when to put it over you. There are no misconstrued instructions anywhere.
Abby
No.
Morgan
And four times this thing got completely stopped.
Abby
What is happening?
Morgan
And like, I get when it gets completely stopped, if somebody needs a little bit help getting on. If like you have someone who's a little bit older or something like that. These were not that.
Abby
Okay.
Morgan
These were mature adults, probably between your, your. My age and like our parents age.
Abby
I have no words. This happens during roundabouts, four way stop signs, and tsa. Like, what's happening?
Morgan
Why do we feel like people just now got out of the womb and don't know how to do life.
Abby
I mean, I will admit, like getting on the sea lift, it's the ski lift, it's kind of a little. You're like higher pressure because you're like, people are watching. It's coming fast. It's not stopping. You gotta put the thing down. You don't want to fall off or fall out. But still it is.
Morgan
But it's also going two miles an hour.
Abby
Yeah. It slows down for you.
Morgan
It literally basically stops. We don't need it to actually stop. It was just a wild moment. So I was gonna ask you, like, other times when you've seen people have their first day on Earth.
Abby
Yes. Like I said, roundabouts, you're just like, it's a yield. No one's come. Just go on through. Keep going. Four way stops. Those stop signs really get people. They do, yeah. And then tsa, you're like, yeah, you gotta take your phone out of your pocket when you go through the X ray. You know, they like have to come back through. They're like, oh, I forgot my keys. I'm like, okay, can we just make sure we're ready? You got water in there? Why, why didn't you throw it away? And it's always.
Morgan
And it's never the people who like, it should be them. Like, I was behind somebody one time. It was her first time flying and she was so sweet and I helped her through the whole process.
Abby
That was her literally first. Okay.
Morgan
First time ever flying.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
And she was super nervous and I was like, I get it. Like, this is all foreign territory. It's the people who, you know, have done this a million times.
Abby
Oh, yeah. Let's talk about self checkouts at the grocery store. We talk about that. Oh, I can go on for days. What else?
Morgan
I know. And it's funny, I just, it's. I don't know if it's lack of a wearing. I don't know what it is, but I like the reference of it being everybody's first day on Earth out of the womb.
Abby
Yes.
Morgan
They just forgot how to life.
Abby
They did. It's a lot of, like, oblivious, you know, like sometimes I walk at the park and this also actually annoys me. And you got like a friend group and they're spread out like the whole sidewalk. And I'm like, I'm trying to run. And sometimes they have their dogs that are like, spread out. And I love dogs. I love it. But they're on the leash and the leash is, like, 20ft long, and they're just letting them go free. And I'm like, I'm trying. I don't know how to get past you, you know? And that happens all the time. When I go to, like, parks, I'm like, there's another one. I'm like, just stay on the right side.
Morgan
Yeah, very much so. And maybe it's lack of, like, consideration.
Abby
I think that's a lot.
Morgan
We don't really consider other people now. It's like we're in our own bubble, our own space.
Abby
Oh, I consider, like, way too much. Like, I'm like, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm in your way.
Morgan
Go ahead. I think that's a Midwest in us because I apologize for everything.
Abby
Oh, my God. I'm sorry.
Morgan
I'm sorry. I. I didn't even do anything wrong. And I'm like, I'm sorry.
Abby
My boyfriend is always like, did you just say sorry to them for, like, being here? I'm like, yeah. He's like, abby, you're allowed to take up space in this world. I'm like, oh, it has to be in the Midwest. It has to.
Morgan
It is. Or, oh. I always say ope a lot. I'm like, oh, oh. If I. If I manage to not say I'm sorry, it's oh, like, acknowledge that I did something wrong without apologizing my nuance.
Abby
Oh, dang. It's like, what I should say in my head. I'm like, oh, dang.
Morgan
Internal thoughts coming out.
Abby
Like, if I get close to someone. Like, this kid was coming towards me on a bike at the park. I was running, and he, like, almost, like, ran into me, so I had to get over really quick. Like, next to a lady walking her dog. And, like, I was basically on top of her, and I was like, oh, dang, I'm sorry.
Morgan
He said both.
Abby
Yeah. All the things. Oh. Oh, dang.
Morgan
Sorry. Oh, dang. Sorry. Just, like, let me leave. Word vomit.
Abby
Yeah, basically because I just, like, feel bad, and I don't know. I don't know what it is.
Morgan
I know. I know. I've gotten a lot better about it. But there'll be moments where I'm like, why did. Why didn't I just say sorry to that?
Abby
No, I'd rather have that than someone not.
Morgan
I know. I know.
Abby
Yeah.
Morgan
But then there's all the other people who don't even realize that something's wrong.
Abby
And I'm like, no idea. They are just going on with life. No. Not a clue that that's happening.
Morgan
And you know what? Maybe that's our sign that we need to live a little bit slower.
Abby
Oh, my gosh, you're so right.
Morgan
Maybe we're aware. Maybe that's why ours are so stressed all the time, is because we're not slowing down enough. And those people are the ones who have figured it out and they're going really slow.
Abby
Mine is also being, being a people pleaser. That's a lot of it I feel bad for. You know, I'm like, oh, I don't want to make somebody upset. I don't want to burden them. Oh, I'm in the way. I'll just. Maybe that's what it is. Like worrying what people think too much. I know that's what I do. So that could be part of like the, oh, I'm always aware, like, what's going on? Is someone behind me? Am I in their way? Am I going too slow?
Morgan
Yeah, that's Midwestern girls. That's right. That also might be why you miss Kansas.
Abby
I think it is.
Morgan
Everybody's very kind. There they are.
Abby
And just a lot less traffic. Slower paced, all of it. Send us back to the farm, out to the wheat fields.
Morgan
I want the corn. Okay, we're getting out of here. Abby, thanks for joining us.
Abby
Yeah, bye.
Morgan
Tell the people where they can find you.
Abby
Oh, yeah. On Instagram. Abby. Oh, my gosh. Abby Lee Anderson. I keep wanting to go back to.
Morgan

This is Justin Richmond, host of Broken Record. Lexus is a company that believes in the importance of setting a standard which I can appreciate as someone who holds themselves to lofty, if not ridiculous, standards, especially with the car I drive. The standard Lexus has set for themselves is to experience amazing. Lexus measures success by the feeling and emotions evoked in a driver, like exhilaration and joy. Amazing can only be achieved by knowing people on a deeper level. The standard of amazing results in a feeling in drivers that their car was built in anticipation of them. Machines that make you feel more human. Because a car that doesn't make you feel something is a car that stops short of amazing Experience.
