The Best Bits of the Week with.
Amy
Morgan Part 1 Behind the Scenes with a member of the show.
Morgan
Welcome to the weekend, everybody. It's Best Bits time and Amy is joining me. Hey, Amy.
Amy
Hey, Morgan.
Morgan
It's a little weird weekend here. We're doing it on Zoom. Amy and I have never done Best Bits on Zoom. We've always managed to do it in person. But I am out with Vertigo. So if I sound a little weird, this. We can just roll with it. We're doing the best we can over here.
Amy
Like, it's not me, it's the vertigo.
Morgan
Yes. If I say anything weird, I'm not held accountable. It is all Vertigo. But, Amy, you talked about something on the show this week.
Amy
Well, I didn't know we were talking about it.
Morgan
I. I need the details. So Amy has. Has a boyfriend.
Amy
Yes. Well, I mean, that's pretty much all we said, so I'll leave it at that for now and then give details. I just kind of thought I was. I feel like it was a little bit of a curveball, but I don't know what details to give later because, like, I didn't even. I feel like saying something on my podcast and saying that I'm dating somebody is very different than, like, the big show. And when it comes to details, I mean, me saying that I have a boyfriend, that's totally fine. But I mean, I didn't even get a chance to really, to talk to him. Like, hey, this is happening, you know?
Morgan
Yeah.
Amy
So.
Morgan
Okay, so you.
Amy
The details are still out, like, of just. I think we'll share more. But, you know, he has three kids and, you know, very exciting things. Yeah, it's exciting. Yeah. So, yeah, I don't know what else to say other than was that awkward for you to hear?
Morgan
No, no. But I was like, oh, wait, she did it. But also, like, I was kind of like, this is a bigger announcement. Why is it? Along with these voicemails? But I get that it came in as a voicemail because you mentioned it on your podcast, but I was just like, this is a. This is huge. Why are we not talking about this? More. Why do we. Why is there not, like a segment, a full segment on this?
Amy
Yeah. I'm not sure. But also, I think in that I would be prepared to share a little bit more. Yeah. Since it just kind of came in as that voicemail, I. That's just.
Morgan
That's what it is.
Amy
Like, that's what we'll share. Because that's all I've said to the extent of, like, even on here, of, like, yes, I'm dating somebody. And then on the podcast, you know, I co host it with Cat. Therapy Cat. And she, you know, we're often like, she knows him and we're talking about him. Or even you. You and I have talked about him a lot. And just privately and, you know, she's like, yeah, it's your boyfriend. And so I've said it like, yeah, I have a boyfriend. Which is still weird to say. And trying to be just also careful in how we share things because there's other people involved.
Morgan
Yeah. Yeah, there is. Okay. So there. I think there's two questions I can ask you that aren't really about him that will allow you to share some things. Does this work? How are the kids feeling with you dating somebody new?
Amy
Great.
Morgan
Okay. They're loving it. They're doing well.
Amy
They like it. I think Stashira said something at dinner the other night because we were eating dinner with him and she said, oh, yeah, I just thought mom was going to end up alone forever.
Morgan
You're like, thank you. I think, cool, cool, cool, cool.
Amy
So they like him. I think his kids like me.
Morgan
I'm sure they love you. You're amazing.
Amy
Well, our kids, we. I have met his kids, he has met mine. But we. Our kids have not all met. We haven't done that part yet.
Morgan
Okay. And with Valentine's Day coming up, do you have Valentine's Day plans?
Amy
Yes, we are doing something. I don't know exactly what yet because he maybe is taking his kids to a Virginia basketball game that weekend.
Morgan
Fun.
Amy
And Valentine's is on a Friday this year. It's still up in the air. Their schedules, the kids, they have lots of sports and whatnot, so they don't know exactly what's going to be happening, but if they can go, they all really want to go. They're big Virginia fans, U of A. And. Yeah, what else? What was I going to say? Oh, so that said, we may do something on Thursday night, like, just dinner, but if not, they don't travel. We're going to do something on Friday night.
Morgan
How does it feel to have Valentine's Day plans. I just. After everything you've been through and now this is where you're at. Like, how does it feel to have, like, new kind of Valentine's Day plans?
Amy
It's fun. But I was like, okay, yeah, what do we do? It's not like I'm totally out of.
Morgan
No, no, but you. You know what I mean? Like, new in the dating and a.
Amy
Long time, but yeah, like, to have plans and to shop for somebody and have to think through some things. Yeah, it's. It's interesting and I get a little nervous, and it's also fun.
Morgan
Okay, and give me. Are we doing okay and not talking about anything that you don't want to talk about?
Amy
I'm totally okay. Doing great.
Morgan
Okay, give me three words to express how you're feeling in this new relationship.
Amy
Okay, three words. Comfortable, content, and cute.
Morgan
Okay.
Amy
Yeah, I. I like alliteration. So that made it easy to just. I. Comfortable, honestly, was the first word that came to my mind. And then I was like, okay, I'm just gonna stick with all Cs. The cute part is just I think that, yeah, we're cute. We're cute. I like how we are.
Morgan
You guys are cute together.
Amy
Yeah.
Morgan
Okay. I won't say anymore because I do know. I do know a lot of information, and I know that there's things that you still have to share on the big show. So that's where I'm leaving that for right now.
Amy
Not even just, you know, sharing on the big show, but listeners have. So many listeners of the. The big show have followed our lives for a very long time. And so there's that component of, like, okay, I've let you in to certain things. So, yeah, I would like to let you in and you be the first to know of, like, this, this, and this. And then also just, you know, once it became time to say this, this, and this, I. I want him to be very aware, you know?
Morgan
Yes.
Amy
That's why when the voicemail was played, I'm like, yes, okay, cool. Yeah, I have a boyfriend. But I'm. I'm. I'm not really going to say anything else at this point because it's. Again, it's not just. Just me. And, you know, the. For the last time I was in a relationship that I announced it was 2006 and I was dating Air Force Guy, and that's all we would say. And plus, we were young and not very considerate of other people. We were just like, we're just on the radio talking about everything, and I Remember going to Ben and being like, what can I say? What can I say? And he's like, well, not much. I'm much more private. I was like, okay, fine, we won't disclose who you are at all. We'll just call you Air Force Guy. And so we did. And so I would. I shared and detailed all kinds of stuff about him and our relationship and how it unfolded. And it was very much in real time. And I don't know that real time is necessary anymore. I think that it's. It was fun at the time, but then as you mature, you learn, okay, not everything is content and not everything has to be in real time, and everyone has to be ready for it. And I personally like letting listeners in. And I do think that there are parts of my story that have been relatable to a lot of listeners or helpful to get a peek behind the curtain, because I know that I've benefited from other people that have given me a peek behind the curtain, and that's how we can all connect. Now, do listeners know every detail and do I know every detail of other people's lives? No. I think that we have to be careful of what we let out. But if there's parts of your story that can be comforting or therapeutic or healing or just for someone to know, like, they're not alone. And in the highs and the lows, like, just. I feel like I've. Listeners have come alongside me in so many highs and lows. They have celebrated alongside us, they have wept alongside us. And I think that this is one of those things where, you know, I wouldn't share something unless I was absolutely ready. And I thought that it was going to be like, an actual, real relationship. And this feels like that. It's still sort of new ish, but it feels good and it feels right. And he's okay with letting people into some of our story once it's time to share that. And I do think it's one that will be, you know, I don't know. I'm not, like, I don't want to put too much on it, but I'm just saying I think that there likely will be one person that will benefit from hearing it and feel comfort and peace of, like, oh, I can do this, and this is a cool story, and this story gives me hope.
Morgan
Well, I think it'll also do that regardless, just for the fact that, like, this is after you went through a divorce and you shared that news and then you started dating again and you're a mom that's with Kids and you're dating, like, all of that is relatable. So I definitely think there'll be more than one. But, yes, I. I love that you shared that kind of behind the scenes and your thought process behind it, because it is. We have to be very delicate with how we share things. And so funny. There's a lot of people, like, when I talk about my dating life, everybody's like, you. You know, these people care. I'm like, first of all, you don't know the timeline of when these things happen. These things could have happened six months or a year ago, and I'm just now sharing them. You don't know where they are in the timeline of events in my life. So the person. The only person who will know that this has happened will be the one person this is about, and that's it. Nobody else is going to be able to put the pieces together. And we do that on purpose just to protect people. But it's funny. Do you remember Sally, when Sally came on after my birthday and she had a story to share?
Amy
Yes.
Morgan
So a person who. That was about. Apparently their friend had sent them that segment and said, hey, don't be this person. And they sent it to me and was like, I just had my own karma. And I was like, you know, you kind of deserve it. And he's. And this person in Sally's story was like, you're right. And I'm sorry. I'm like, good. I'm glad we could come full circle in this moment.
Amy
Oh, that's good.
Morgan
Isn't that funny, though?
Amy
I didn't know that. But yeah, it is interesting how we can put certain things together, you know, even stuff we share about our friends, which my friend did not care about this at all. She thought it was hilarious, and she gave us permission to say it. But do you remember when I went over my friend's list of things that she was looking for in a partner, and it was, you know, simple things to very ridiculous things like want them to be strong, you know, ocd, but not more OCD than me. Like, no naps. Like, I can't remember some of the other things. She said. Oh, athletic. Because I want to have athletic offspring.
Morgan
I do very, very much remember this list.
Amy
Yeah. So she was on a date with a guy, and somehow if they had a list came up, and he started talking about how he has this list, and she goes, oh, I keep a list on my phone. And she pulled it out and she started reading it, and he was like, wait a second. I swear I heard this list on the Bobby Bones Show. And she goes, that was me. He was on a date, and he recognized it, and he's like, oh, my gosh, that's so funny. I remember them talking about all the things, and the guys are making fun of, like, how impossible it was going to be to find. But funny enough, the date. The guy she was on a date with is a former pro athlete, and he checked a lot of the boxes, so it's kind of funny.
Morgan
See, it works out somehow or another like it. And that's what I love to tell people. I'm like, regardless of how things get shared on the radio, like, the right person is going to fall into all of our lives, and it's going to be the right person for a reason. So all of that to say that what we share on the show is it's. There's part realness to it and part also, like, protectiveness layer that we're. We're doing our jobs and our due diligence to protect people.
Amy
Right.
Morgan
So thank you for sharing some of this stuff. Hopefully we're good. You feel good about it?
Amy
Totally good. Yeah.
Morgan
Okay. Just making sure. So we're going to take one quick break, and we'll be right back. So on the complete other side of all of this, I have vertigo again. Amy's looking at me on Zoom, and I'm wearing glasses, and I haven't showered in, like, four days, and life is weird over here. I. I am not okay, Amy. I think I'm losing my mind.
Amy
Well, I know when we sat down to record and you have your little red, like. It's like you. They're glasses with a red tint. I assume that those are your special vertigo glasses. Actually, I remember you coming in the studio with them last time, but I don't know if they have an official name.
Morgan
Yeah, they're called Thera Specs.
Amy
Okay. You have on your Thera specs. And I said, morgan, we don't have, you know, like, we can do this, like, in a more condensed manner, because I know that you're not feeling well, so you're a trooper for showing up for best bits.
Morgan
You know, we ha. We had to do it. We had to do it for the listeners. I have a actually out for delivery right now as a neck brace that's on its way to my house. So the crazy thing with vertigo is once I had my PT friend Holly come over here and do the maneuvers on me that are supposed to help get all my crystals back in alignment. I know this all sounds crazy, if you've never had vertigo or known anybody who has. But once she did the maneuvers, you have to keep your head so still and so upright. So I've had to sleep upright. I've had to. I can't bend over. I can't move my head left to right. So I'm getting the neck brace in hopes that it will force me to not even move a little bit of an inch to keep those crystals in alignment. And hopefully I get better quicker than last time, which took several weeks. So I'm going to be looking funny with these glasses and a neck bracelet.
Amy
Yeah. Whatever maneuver she was doing on you, you were, like, hanging off your bed. You posted it on Instagram, and I was like, oh, that looks so. I know you're in pain, so I'm not. You know, I get it. It's. You're like, what? This is. I really have to have it. But I was like, oh, I don't even have vertigo right now. And I would give anything to have that girl come over and do whatever that is that she just did to Morgan because it looked so relaxing.
Morgan
You definitely want it without the vertigo, because when she does those maneuvers, it induces the vertigo. So you're getting sick as she's doing it, because it's literally. So the best way I can describe this when you have vertigo is, like, there's a rocky wall in the back of your head acting as your body's level, your equilibrium. And when the crystals get loose out of that, they end up in your ear canals. And so the only way to fix that and get them out of your ear canals is basically to roll your body and move your body around in these very bizarre ways to get them back into the rocky wall and give you your equilibrium back. And so she's, like, moving me on my bed like that because she's literally moving the crystals around in my head to hopefully get them back in place. So when she's doing that, she's inducing the vertigo. So I'm, like, ill. I end up, like, vomiting. And you have a vertigo hangover after those maneuvers happen. Okay.
Amy
Yeah. That's why I'm careful to say, like, I know that they weren't able for you, and I know you feel like crap, but it looked like it was going to be awesome if you're a normal person.
Morgan
Yeah. I mean, so that's how I say.
Amy
Normal, but you know what I mean.
Morgan
Yeah. That's why I say you'll want it. Just. You don't want it with the vertigo, because it isn't It's a cool experience to, like, move your body in that way, but yeah, not in the. In the way that you're gonna vomit afterwards. So that's what we're dealing with right now. It's a weird time, but I do have some fun also. Things to. To talk about. So we had the Grammys. That just happened. But did you see that Ye, AKA Kanye west got kicked out?
Amy
No, but Therapy cat just sent me a text right before we started recording, and all she said was, kanye west right now. And then she did that, Whoa, emoji face kind of like, what is happening? And I don't know anything about this, so you'll have to let me know.
Morgan
Okay. So he showed up with his girlfriend. She was com. Well, completely naked.
Amy
I saw her outfit that was. I don't even know how that's allowed.
Morgan
It wasn't. And also, he wasn't invited. So he showed up to the Grammy's red carpet like this, and he wasn't even invited.
Amy
Okay.
Morgan
Insane. So she wasn't completely naked. She had, like, a sheer over her, but you could see everything. Essentially, she had a fur jacket that covered. When they're on the red carpet, she took it off. Well, it made me, like, kind of have this, like, thought process. When's the last time that you've been kicked out of somewhere, if ever?
Amy
I don't think I've ever been kicked out of anywhere.
Morgan
Have you ever got in trouble that it was like, could have been a kicked out type situation? Because I bet they handled this with care knowing that it's Kanye west or he. And they had to be like, sir, you guys need to leave. And they were gently pushing him out for the. Versus, like the kick out that we probably think in our heads.
Amy
But yeah, no, I don't think I have. Have you ever been kicked out of somewhere?
Morgan
Okay, so this happened recently when I was in Paris. So there. Have you heard of the Arc de Triomphe? The, like, really cool statue in Paris?
Amy
No, because. Well, I mean, I'm sure I've seen it. Oh, yes. Like, they have one that in New York that looks like it.
Morgan
Yeah, it kind of like, basically it's these. In these different cities. I think it's known for, like, when they win a battle and it becomes like, this thing in war, and they build the statue to remember. So Paris has this Arc de Triomphe, which is known for a lot of tourists. You go and you visit. Visit it. But it's in this roundabout, like this traffic circle, and it was like 2:00 in the morning. And I had lots of alcohol at this point, but I wanted to see the Arc de Triomphe, like, up close. And I saw like a gate around it. I wasn't going to go in the gate, but I wanted to run up to the gate and like, take a picture of it. And I ran up. There was these two police officers that like kind of came like fastly moving over and started speaking a lot of French to me. And I just was like, I don't speak French. I don't know what you're saying. Even though I did know that they were definitely kicking me off of that. I played the dumb American card, like, no, abla. Literally. I was like, I don't, I don't know what you're saying, but I did.
Amy
Like, why do you say it with that accent in English?
Morgan
I don't know what you're saying because I'm pretty sure I was drunk and I was saying it a lot like that, where I was just like, I don't know what's happening. But I did know and I didn't know I probably wasn't supposed to be there. I genuinely wasn't trying to like break into it or anything. I just wanted a picture up close because of the. All the cars that move by. And it was like 2am There was hardly any cars. But that was my kind of kick out moment where I could have ended up in a. In a Paris jail if I would have escalated that situation.
Amy
Yeah, Rebel, I had no idea you lived life on the edge like that. I really, I can't. I'm racking my brain trying to think of something. Like, I know in high school we had parties in fields and we'd get it. Get busted and we'd all have to run.
Morgan
So what you're telling me is you've matured and I have not.
Amy
Well, no, I mean, I don't. Maybe it just hasn't happened yet. I don't know. I haven't been to Paris yet. Maybe I'll get kicked out.
Morgan
I. I did have a. I was having a wild hair. It was like, you know, I was in Paris and I did not care and I was just having fun. And listen, I would. There was also might have been a Greek man involved and I was just having fun living my life.
Amy
A great man. Have you spoken to him since?
Morgan
Yes. Yeah, we have spoken since.
Amy
Okay.
Morgan
We have a really, like, really cute, romantic photo by the Arctic Triomphe. I'm like, that's a cool memory. Thank you for that.
Amy
Okay, so when you say you're still talking to him, what does that mean? Like, y'all are texting, WhatsApping, DMing.
Morgan
DMing on Instagram. But it's not like anything. It's more just like staying in touch and maybe one day we'll see each other again. But it's not like a we are gonna see each other again, we're gonna get married type thing.
Amy
Okay.
Morgan
Just more fun messaging. Nice to meet you. Cool. One day we'll see each other again, maybe.
Amy
Right.
Morgan
So that was mine. Nothing come to mind, though. Okay. I hope you get to have a moment like this in your life, though, just for the heck of it. But you don't get arrested, you know?
Amy
Yeah. No. Okay. I'll. I'll look for moments.
Morgan
Maybe don't. Maybe don't. Okay. Also, since Lainey Wilson has blown up, she's gotten a whole lot of major brand deals. Like, I just saw one recently with Whataburger. She's has one with the bell bottom jeans. She has one with hats. If you were to get, like, mega stardom tomorrow, what three brand deals would you agree to almost immediately, no questions asked?
Amy
Oh, ct. I would be the face of CF chips.
Morgan
Okay.
Amy
I like them so much, and I love anything ciate. And it's all just a little bit on the pricier side because of the quality of ingredients. Although I do feel like ever since Pepsi bought them and the integrity and the ingredients has stayed the same because sometimes when companies get bought out by the bigger ones, certain things in the ingredients alter. I know CTE was like, oh, no, no, no, that's not going to happen. But I think I do notice C stuff on sale more. Just sharing that in case you've never tried it. I Target has it on sale a lot, so I would be the face of C for sure. Maybe. Like, I don't know. Do you have yours? And I can think about mine because I'm. I'm.
Morgan
Yeah. And we can bounce off too, like, because I. It was. I was just seeing this and I was like, I wonder what that would feel like. Like, all of a sudden, all your favorite brands start coming to you. I do think Taco Bell would be one for me.
Amy
Oh, yeah, that'd be a good one.
Morgan
I am at Taco Bell way too often, and that is definitely not good for my immune system for the fact that all of it's gluten. But, you know, here we are. So Taco Bell would definitely be one for me.
Amy
Okay. So I mentioned Ciete being on sale a lot, so. Shoot. Why not Target? I'll be the face of Target.
Morgan
See, you love Target. Wouldn't that be insane? You're like, oh, I'm now the brand woman for Target.
Amy
Yeah. I feel like then you have gift cards to Target, probably for days, and then you have lots of what you need.
Morgan
Exactly.
Amy
And pretty much anything at Target.
Morgan
See? Okay. On that same side, I think I would go Trader Joe's because I am definitely part of the cult that is Trader Joe's. I love Trader Joe's.
Amy
Okay. So if you're a parent and you do have a Trader Joe's near you and you're trying to sneak vegetables into your kids bodies. My kids have been drinking smoothies a lot lately and I need to get things in them like broccoli, cauliflower, those types of veggies.
Morgan
Yep.
Amy
And it's really difficult any other way. But Trader Joe's has bagged frozen organic cauliflower rice.
Morgan
So I know what you're talking about.
Amy
Yeah. And it's, it's great because it's cheap. It's already chopped up tiny. It's frozen and it's organic. And you load up on that and start. If your kids like smoothies, start. It makes your smoothies really creamy. They have no idea that it's in there. And that's my little trick for getting more veggies into my kids bodies.
Morgan
No, that's so good. I love that stuff. I use that for bowls. Yeah.
Amy
It doesn't change the color of the smoothie because if I put anything green, they're instantly like, why is this green? And I'm like, okay. So I threw some mixed greens in there because you need veggies, but the cauliflower, because it's white and gives that creaminess. I also have been chopping up zucchini.
Morgan
And I love zucchini.
Amy
You can shave off the green, the skin, if you don't want the grain to show up in the smoothie. And then if you freeze that, it gives it a creamy consistency as well and just helps make smoothies more nutritious for your children.
Morgan
Oh, I love these pro tips. I might need a new do it for my own smoothie.
Amy
Yeah, Trader Joe's just has a lot of little nuggets like that and their produce, everything is just so much more affordable. It's just that Trader Joe's aren't everywhere.
Morgan
Yeah. That's what sucks about Trader Joe's. And that's why I call it like kind of a cult. That's why everybody who's like, you're if you have a Trader Joe's, you end up loving it because it's just so. It's so good, and it has such easy stuff to make and throw into your food.
Amy
Yeah. You just have to know that the parking is always going to be terrible, and some stuff about the location is just not going to make sense. But you're going to be like, I don't care. Trader Joe's. I'm still going to go no matter what.
Morgan
Oh.
Amy
Which a strong contender. Ciete. Speaking of them, I tried a chip this week that they like, a lotte. They came up with, like, a Mexican street corn version of their chip, and Trader Joe's has one. Now. The ingredients are very different, but it's like, have you had the.
Morgan
No, I know what you're talking about. I love them.
Amy
Yes. They're so good. It's like a Frito, but with all the street corn.
Morgan
Yes. And I don't know if you've noticed this either, but Trader Joe's, I feel a little bit more comfortable with all the ingredients because, like, even the pasta stuff literally comes from Italy. The. All the different freezer stuff is stuff that they're. It's just the ingredients are easier for me to read. I'm not feeling like there's multiple ingredients and all of that stuff. I don't know about the chips, but at least the freezer items, the chips.
Amy
Are going to be very different than CTA ingredients wise. But my sister did tell me, like, she doesn't have a Trader Joe's in her town in Colorado, but she had to go to Albuquerque to take my niece to the airport or her daughter. And while she's. If she's ever in Albuquerque, she goes to Trader Joe's, and she did a haul, and she said that she didn't realize that they stopped. They don't carry anything that has the red dyes. So none of their stuff there. They haven't done the complete overhaul, I don't think, with, like, seed oils, but they have stopped. Or maybe they always have. I'm not sure. But she didn't realize that. And she was like, oh, good. It's just nice to go somewhere and you don't have to think of like, oh, what does this have in it? But then also I do that, and then I go to the gas station and I get M and M's, and I'm like, okay, this has red dot.
Morgan
You know, it's a hard balance.
Amy
We're just doing our best.
Morgan
We are. Okay, so you have Target and Siete. I have Trader Joe's and Taco Bell. We each have one left. What is the brand deal we're going with?
Amy
Gosh, Maybe Fenty. Can I do makeup?
Morgan
Yeah, of course.
Amy
Yeah. I like her lip glosses and contour sticks, and my daughter likes her stuff too, so maybe we could do like a mother daughter campaign and that would be fun.
Morgan
Oh, that's so cute. I love that. Okay, if I probably would have to go Lululemon, because I'm pretty sure most of my closet is Lululemon smart. Honestly, I just feel like that would just make the most sense. I wish that the dupes and stuff worked on me, but I am. I love. I love the Lululemon stuff. Like the leggings. It is just a game changer because I think it's because I work out like the I do with CrossFit and hot yoga and stuff. You sweat so much that those leggings are just a game changer.
Amy
Yeah. Align is my favorite.
Morgan
Y. A line is the best one.
Amy
I align is new to me. I think I only started buying a line last year. I used to be a very wonder under girl, and now I'm align all the way.
Morgan
Yeah. See, and they're the. Those align are just. They're comfy. They're perfect. So I think I go, lulu, look at us. We would have. That would be amazing. Honestly, I'm like, thinking about that. And I love this for Lainey that she's getting to do this, but that would be crazy.
Amy
Yeah. No, it's got. Her world has changed so much in the last handful of years. Even just few years, not even handful. It's been less than five. And her life is night and day, and she is very deserving. So it's cool to see.
Morgan
I know. I feel that same way. Okay, we're gonna take one more quick break. We'll be right back. And think of some reviews. Amy, we Everybody loves reviews day, so we're just gonna kind of throw out a bunch of things here. Okay. Take a quick break. We'll be right back. So listeners really love this segment. We do Tuesday reviews day and we share a bunch of things. And I have been cooped up at home, so I have lots of things to add. Have you been watching anything recently, Amy?
Amy
I started recruit.
Morgan
Oh, yeah. Did you already see the first season and you're on season two?
Amy
No, I'm on season one.
Morgan
Okay, well, you will like it, but I refuse to now suggest that for Bobby after our us getting totally ridiculed for night agent.
Amy
Oh, yeah, I'm watching Night Agent with my son, too. And Stevenson loves it, so. But Recruit, I just kind of have on in the background. It's easy to kind of keep up with that way. Let's be honest. That's how I watch most of my stuff. I saw this funny ADHD video of this guy making fun of people with adhd. When they find a show that they really like, they walk around their house with their computer and they're doing everything. They're, like, in the shower and they're trying to hear and watch. They're brushing their teeth. They take it to the laundry room, and that's me. I just walk around my house with my computer, and I've got the show go on. So that's why sometimes I miss a lot, but I don't care. I. I still will advance to the next episode. I don't need to go back and figure it out. I'm like, oh, it'll sort itself out. I'm not gonna rewind. But that's what I'm doing with Recruit right now. And I'm on season one, episode three, and I like it.
Morgan
Okay. See? And it's. It's probably in that same vein as Night Agent. So that's why I say I wouldn't. I wouldn't send it to Bobby now, especially after that. But I really liked Recruit. I thought it was really good. I finished season two because I binged that when it came out, and I loved it. I think I'd give it a. Oh, three and a half out of five. I'd say both seasons. Three and a half out of five. Papers.
Amy
The penis.
Morgan
Yeah, we can go with that. I was trying to think of something that is not gonna throw you off for the next season. So I'd say those two. I like that one on Netflix. What would you give it so far?
Amy
So far? Probably same. Three to three and a half. Like, I'm not. It's good enough for me to keep watching, but I'm not obsessed with it. Like, I was. What was that one on Apple TV with Jake Gyllenhaal that we were all obsessed with?
Morgan
Oh, I don't think I've watched that one, but it was. It was the. Is the ambulance one right, or. No, no, the court one Courtroom.
Amy
Well, why do I want to keep saying the proposal but it's not the. It's actually the feedback.
Morgan
I know that it starts with a P. Presumed Innocent.
Amy
That's it. See.
Morgan
I didn't even watch it. I figured it out.
Amy
I don't know why. I don't get words. Right. Like last night we went to dinner and we went to. In the gulch. What's the pig? I keep wanting to call it Impeccable Iberian Pigeon. There you go. Yeah. But I kept saying, we're going to Impeccable Pig. And I think that's like a clothing boutique or something.
Morgan
It is. It is. That's why you keep saying that.
Amy
So I just, you know, as long as you get it close. But if you are ever in Nashville, that place is so good. Iberian Pig.
Morgan
I do love Iberian Pig. But Barcelona still wins for me in tapas.
Amy
Yeah. Do you say tapas or tapas?
Morgan
I'm probably wrong, and it's probably tapas.
Amy
No, I don't think they're. I think it's like almond or almond. I don't know that there is a right or wrong. Or pajamas. Pajamas. It's just either or.
Morgan
I feel like when I was in Barcelona, which Barcelona. Spain is really where tapas come from. I'm pretty sure they were saying tapas. And the tapas is me very Canton saying that.
Amy
Oh, no, it's the Vertigo.
Morgan
That too. That too, yes. This episode. I do. So I love Iberian Pig. I think it's my second favorite tapas restaurant in town. Have you been to Barcelona?
Amy
Oh, yeah. I love Barcelona.
Morgan
Okay, but do you like Iberian Pig better?
Amy
I think I like the vibe. I think, like, they just did a really good job with the. I don't know, look like it used to be an old warehouse, and they completely renovated. It looks so really cool. I like the bar area. But last night we ate upstairs. I didn't even know they had that up there.
Morgan
I didn't either.
Amy
They have a whole upstairs area. I'm like, this place is packed. And I'm like, this is what people do on weeknights. Like, I'm normally in bed. I don't understand.
Morgan
We're learning. We're learning to go hot on school night.
Amy
Yeah. But I'll let you in on a little. I went. My boyfriend's dad wanted to take us out to dinner, and his wife, so my boyfriend's stepmom, but she's been a stepmom for a really, really, really long time. And his half sister. We all went to dinner because his dad was like, oh, I would like to get to know Amy better.
Morgan
Oh. So how did it go?
Amy
The reservation? They said, you know, we're going to Impeccable Pig.
Morgan
Get some new clothes first.
Amy
Y'all are invited. And so we went. And it was fun. I've hung out with his family. Before, but it was just better to get to know them more intimately.
Morgan
Yeah. And that's a cool spot for that because you get it. What I love about tapas is that everybody gets to get a bunch of different things and you try it all.
Amy
Yeah.
Morgan
Okay. That's fun. We added a new reviews day, part of this.
Amy
Restaurant reviews. Yeah. Because I don't have another TV show. What else do you have?
Morgan
Okay. Did you ever watch the Sweet Magnolias TV show on Netflix?
Amy
Yes.
Morgan
Okay, so new season just came out, Season four. And I just binged it yesterday because I can't literally move from my house. So I've been the whole season.
Amy
Okay. I might do that soon. I really like that show a lot. And I might need a break from CIA stuff, because between Lioness, the Night Agent, the Recruit, it's. It'd probably be nice to have just a cute little, cute romantic show.
Morgan
Yes. And this. This season was very good. I'm assuming you're caught up to that point. So you just need the new season. Loved it. It still keeps getting better. There's definitely cheesy moments because it's just Netflix. I think I've accepted that Netflix will just have some cheese in it. But I really loved it. I love that show. It's. It's one of my favorites. So.
Amy
Have you watched Younger?
Morgan
Oh, yeah. I love Younger.
Amy
Okay. Same. I just. I re. Watched all of that. I watched it originally, but, you know, again, because my adhd, I missed. When I was rewatching it, I was like, oh, I had no idea this happened or this happened. And so that's the fun part about if you ever rewatch something and you watch TV like I do, is there's always something new to learn.
Morgan
You can rewatch. You'll have always have an endless supply of things to watch. I did watch. This is what. How my TV watching happens is like, kind of like how we're mentioning the CIA shows. When I find something that I like, I'll then go on a bender of watching things similar to that, and then I'll, like, switch gears and I'll find something new. Like, I'm also really obsessed with sitcoms right now because I watched. And I feel like you could watch this with your kids, and they may actually love it, but it's called Neighborhood. Did you ever watch New Girl?
Amy
Yes.
Morgan
Okay. You know Schmidt on New Girl. So he's in Neighborhood, and it's so funny. It's this white family that moves into a black neighborhood, and it's all about, like, their friendship. And over as as him living in that neighborhood. What that all looks like. I have laughed so many times watching that show, and it has, like, seven seasons.
Amy
Okay, that's gonna be something good that, Yeah, I could watch with both my kids, and I feel like I think.
Morgan
They would love it.
Amy
Okay.
Morgan
So that's been like, something that I'm obsessed with lately is sitcoms. So Neighborhood on Paramount plus. And I've also started watching man with a Plan, which is with the actor Matt Joey from friends.
Amy
Matt LeBlanc.
Morgan
Yes, Matt LeBlanc. He is in this sitcom, which is funny. It's like, about a married couple, and it's very, like, real life of just their experiences. And I like it. I don't know if I'm just on this, like, sitcom. Funny. Kind of wishing that we'd have 30 minute episodes again, but that's what both of those are. So two cool sitcoms to watch.
Amy
Okay, noted. Yes, thank you. Yeah, check out Neighborhood. And I didn't know a new season of Sweet Magnolias is out. I guess I saw it pop up on Netflix, but I thought maybe it was just. I didn't know it was a new season. I thought they were.
Morgan
Yeah, like a spotlight. Yeah. No new season, and I binge watched it all in one day. I guess that's what you get when you're stuck at your house. So those are all where I'm at right now, I think. I also started watching the other sitcom with Tim Allen shifting gears. So again, I like. Like I said, I get on these kicks of things, and I've just been on a sitcom kick, but I used to watch with my dad, Tool Time. What. What was that show?
Amy
Home Improvement.
Morgan
Yes. With Tim Allen. And so this is supposed to be like a similar version to that. So that's shifting gears. I don't know how I feel about that one yet, but I do. Neighborhood's definitely the top. And then man with a Plan, I'm kind of leaning into. So that's where we're at with all of those. But fun, easy, that you could totally watch while you're doing other things. And, like, have in the background.
Amy
Perfect.
Morgan
Which is up your alley. Okay, so we're gonna get out of here. Unless there's anything you want to add.
Amy
No, I just hope you feel better soon. This for you. Like, I'm watching you right now, and I'm like, oh, Morgan, do you feel.
Morgan
Yeah, I. But I have Zofran. Thank goodness my doctor prescribed me Zofran. So that is a miracle nausea drug. But yes, as soon as that wears Off. I feel it immediately. I'm like, oh, pop another one.
Amy
Yeah. So friends legit, that's what. When I did my ketamine therapy, I was getting so nauseous, and the first time I did it, I was like, oh, no, I think I'll be good. Like, I don't normally get impact, like, nausea. I don't really get car sick. I just kind of thought I was not going to have an issue, and I was so sick when I came out of it. Never again. I am taking Zofran, So you take Zofran before you do your little trip with a guided therapist. By the way, I did it all by the books, legal, with an excellent thing. Professional, the whole thing. And Zofran came in clutch.
Morgan
Oh, yeah, it is. I'm telling you, it is. The. I've had so many nausea medicines because I am prone to nausea with everything, but Zofran is a game changer. So, yeah, besides that, I just feel kind of inhuman because I can't really move my head, so I just kind of feel like I'm a robot right now.
Amy
Well, you'll get your neck brace, and then.
Morgan
Yeah, just wait till you see me coming in the studio Monday. I'm gonna look so funny.
Amy
Oh, yeah? You think you'll wear it to work on Monday?
Morgan
I think I'm gonna have to. I. I have a feeling this is not gonna be over by the weekend.
Amy
Morgan, if it's not over, do not come in. You don't need to be driving.
Morgan
Well, I told Lunchbox. Lunchbox texted me. Because you and Lunchbox both texted me were like, do you need anything? And Lunchbox, like, I know you don't like asking for help, so let me know if you need something. And I was like, well, if I do manage to make it into work, you're probably gonna have to come pick me up.
Amy
Yeah, okay. He's probably closer to you, but if he can't, I. I can pick you up too.
Morgan
Yeah, no, he is closer. I would not make you drive in the crazy Nashville traffic to come get me. It wouldn't be worth it. Okay, we're gonna jump over to listener Q and A because that's about all I have left to manage. But, Amy, thank you for doing this. Thanks for being on here on Zoom for weird little best bits and for sharing some little pieces of things.
