Part three Listener Q and A.
Morgan
Here we are in part three. It's time for listener Q and A. We're going to start with some shout outs. Amy, you want to feel good real quick?
Amy Brown
Sure, I'll take it.
Morgan
So happy for you and know you will have a blast in Charleston. Brit in North Carolina, you two are my fave. That comes from Haley. Just love you ladies. From Nina in North Carolina. Love and appreciate you both for being real and then loving these versions of both of you right now. From Sarah. Like do you feel good? Good little start.
Mary Kay McBrayer
Yes.
Amy Brown
Thank you guys.
Morgan
We love little shout outs. You guys are awesome. Okay, kicking things off. What is your favorite part about your kids at this age stage?
Amy Brown
From Bri in Virginia, I probably their personalities taking shape. Like I did a post around my birthday talking about that and I just pulled it up because Stevenson got me a card that said, you know you're getting old when your boobs hang so low. And then you open it up and it says that you can have a mammogram and a pedicure at the same time. Happy birthday. And I don't even think he, he knows what a mammogram or a pedicure is, but he just died laughing at this card and was so proud of it. And I just love that. That's the card he picked out for me and then he gave it to me. And then his note inside was really precious. And he even said he wrote, I hope you look at the front of the paper just so I don't miss like the first part of the joke. And then Stashira gave me a really sweet card. And then on the inside she put a bunch of coupons and she said, good for one. Like I get to use them. These are good for anything, whatever I decide. And then she said, to use your coupons, you must let me stamp it. And it just reminded me of her personality and how she's not going to let anybody take advantage of anything. If I use one of those coupons, she's going to stamp it. And that coupon is now null and void. It's done, it's over. I cannot cash it in again. But she wrote the most thoughtful letter or any word she's ever shared with me. It was written in that card. And I think now that she's 17, she's able to express Herself more, and she has more vocabulary than she's ever had before. And so I think that that's my favorite part is watching them grow up. And their sense of humor, like Stevenson's, is just amazing. And then with Stashira, us just being able to talk about things more like friends, in a way, I'm still her mom, but once she turns 18, and then in the next two years, we'll shift from some parenting stuff and coaching vibes to more friend vibes. And I'm excited for that because it's fun getting to know her in that way.
Morgan
Yeah. Oh, it's so crazy that they're growing up. It feels like just yesterday that they were so young. Do Amy's kids still speak Creole?
Amy Brown
Claire in Nashville, Stevenson does not. And Stashira came a little bit, and she's taking French in school. So which Creole and French are similar? So, Toshira, yes. Stevenson, no.
Morgan
All right.
Amy Brown
And I would say with Teshira, she can understand it more than she can speak it at this point. But hopefully we'll get back. We've been in touch with her aunt who has moved to America from Haiti, and they have been communicating on WhatsApp and talking more, and she's even talked with her mom a little bit, but her mom is still in Haiti. And I think we're going to try to meet up with her aunt in person at some point, and hopefully just being around them more will bring some of it back.
Morgan
Oh, I love that. I haven't heard that update. What does Stachier want to do for a living? She's so business savvy. Laura from New Mexico.
Amy Brown
Yeah. Right now she is thinking about esthetician school.
Morgan
Oh, okay. Didn't see that one coming.
Amy Brown
Me neither. But it's just something that she's been talking about casually. And then I have some friends that do that, and they're like, she can come shadow me anytime. And she's like, yeah, when can I go? I want to go. And she texts them and asks them questions, and she's asked them what schools they've gone to and what they recommend, and, yeah, so we'll see what happens.
Morgan
I was prepared for her to be a CEO or something really, like, odd.
Amy Brown
Well, she wants to own her own business, so then she gets both. Yeah. She has said, well, I'll work for myself, and then I'll have some people maybe that work under me. And so if I ever want to go on vacation or leave town, they can still continue to take care of people's faces. And I'll go on a trip.
Morgan
I love this for her. She has it all figured out. I need to be more like Sashier. I feel like, in my life. Did your cousin know or warn you about the divorce before it happened?
Amy Brown
Don in Missouri, Gosh, this would be going way back. But yes, she did have inkling. An inkling, a feeling, a knowing of it, of sorts. And no, she did not come out and tell me because that's not how she operates. And I do think she was encouraging me and guiding me to get my affairs in order to get my ducks in a row. I was not involved in our finances at all. I've shared a lot about this. That was by my choice. When we first got married 17 years ago. I didn't want anything to do with paying bills or opening bills or anything like that. So just money freaked me out. I didn't like looking at our bank account. I didn't know anything. So at the time that I knew maybe a divorce was on the horizon. Actually, it wasn't until. Because I didn't take my cousin's advice. So it wasn't until the divorce was happening that I really knew how to log in and look at things. And it was so overwhelming. But I am a story of hope and encouragement. It is possible and you can learn and you can do it without getting freaked out. Because I used to just get like a lump in my throat. Like, I didn't feelings in my body. I didn't like the way I felt when I had to deal with finances. I just didn't trust myself or something. And she said at one point, I remember I was pacing around my room on the phone talking to her, and she said, amy, at this point, I did not think I was getting a divorce at all whatsoever. It was still not an option. She said, you need to get involved in your finances. And I was like, where is this coming from? That's not even what I'm talking to you about. And she's like, do it now. It will be empowering. And I was thinking, empowering? What is she even talking about? And I gotta tell you, it is. It is so empowering to know what's coming in and what's going out. And it's not about the amount. It's just about knowing and having control. And that's one of the first things she said to me. And I know it's because she was like, something's about to happen and you're about to get a reality check and you need to have your stuff in order. Oh, And I didn't listen to her, though. Yeah, so.
Morgan
So next time when somebody gets an inkling with you, maybe just, you know, give it a second thought.
Amy Brown
Especially if they're your cousin and they claim to be a psychic. Just, you know, very important to each other.
Morgan
Have you learned anything new about yourself since dating someone? Since divorce Amy in Mississippi?
Amy Brown
Yeah. I have learned that our nervous systems are fascinating and they can change, which we know that. But to experience it is really awesome. And I've experienced it, like now I know what it's like. And this has nothing to do with my relationship with Ben. This is my own nervous system and things I probably even brought into our marriage. So I was part of the problem. Ben was part of the problem. There's nothing against Ben, but how I was living and operating, I don't have that in this relationship. And it feels calm and secure and I'm not looking for chaos. And I chased chaos for a while because chaos is what I was used to. So my nervous system was like, well, wait a second, if there's no chaos, this is boring. And so I have learned what that feels like to make that shift. And I think that that would happen. That shift had happened because of the work I was doing without this relationship. But this relationship is showing me what it's like to have what my new baseline is and how great it is to sort of stay there and not have to like do this dance to go chase like a high.
Morgan
Yeah. And it's because it's also testing your new baseline. You would have never been able to test it until you entered into a new relationship.
Amy Brown
Yeah. Or unless Ben and I did a complete. Which we, you know, that could have been possible, but that just wasn't what was in store for us. But I do think that a transformation like that could happen for a couple. So I don't want people to give. Give up because you can find a new baseline in your current relationship. But it takes probably both people.
Morgan
Definitely both. I don't think that can be a one sided journey. Okay, we're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back.

Larison Campbell
There's a type of soil in Mississippi called Yazoo clay. It's thick, burnt orange, and it's got a reputation.
Amy Brown
It's terrible, terrible dirt.
Larison Campbell
Yazoo clay eats everything, so things that get buried there tend to stay buried until they're not. In 2012, construction crews at Mississippi's biggest hospital made a shocking discovery.
Morgan
7,000 bodies out there or more, all.
Larison Campbell
Former patients of the old state asylum. And nobody knew they were there.
Morgan
It was my family's mystery.
Larison Campbell
But in this corner of the south, it's not just the soil that keeps secrets.
Amy Brown
Nobody talks about it. Nobody has any information.
Larison Campbell
When you peel back the layers of Mississippi's Yazoo clay, nothing's ever as simple as you think.
Amy Brown
The story is much more complicated and nuanced than that. Larry.

He actually is too good to be true.
Amy Brown
This is a con. I'm conning you to get the Delano painting.
Harvey Guillen
We could do this together to pull off this heist. They'll have to get close and jump into the deep end together.
Amy Brown
That's a huge leap, Fernando, don't you think? After you, Chulito.
Harvey Guillen
But love is the biggest risk they'll ever take.
Colleen Witt
Fernando's never, never going to love you.
Amy Brown
As much as he loves this job. That painting is ours.

Morgan
What should I do?

On November 5, 2018 at 6:33am, a red Volkswagen Golf was found abandoned in a ditch out in Sleep Hole Valley. The driver's seat door was open. No traces of footsteps leaving the vehicle. No belongings were found, except for a cassette tape. Lodged in the player on that tape were 10 vile.
Amy Brown
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Unknown
Grotesque.
Cheekies
Oh, my God.
Morgan
Oh, my God.

Horrific stories that to this day have been kept restricted from the public until now. You feeling this too? A horror anthology podcast. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Morgan
Do you have lots of birds at your new home, fellow bird guardian and angel believer Ashley from Louisiana?
Amy Brown
Yes, I've got my cardinals and my blue jays and my little chickadees. And I feel like there was some cardinal babies bouncing around my yard the other day so much that I went to Google. What does a cardinal baby look like? Because they didn't have the bright orange beaks, but they were red. No, they were sort of like a grayish brownish. But the babies, they could look.
Morgan
They look like all kinds of things.
Amy Brown
They evolve into what they're supposed to be. So I didn't know, but there was a brown cardinal and a red cardinal, which the brown's the female and the red is male. So I was like, is that the mom and the dad? And these are baby cardinals and this is a sign that I'm gonna have a baby.
Morgan
This is a new sign. I didn't know about this sign yet.
Amy Brown
But then I was like, also, is that, like, are my eyes working? Because that could just be like baby bird or a little tiny chickadee. So I went to Google, what does a baby carnal look like? And I don't know. These are pretty close. So I've been looking for a little nest to see if they have a home nearby, but I haven't found it. But the bright orange beak develops over time. They are not born with it.
Morgan
Interesting.
Amy Brown
FYI, I did not know that. Yeah, me neither.
Morgan
So that makes sense too. I wonder with like eagle babies if they're born with their yellow beaks.
Amy Brown
I would think not. I think it's probably the same. I don't know, but I think if it. That's how the cardinal. Once it matures, it comes about. Same thing might be with the eagle.
Morgan
All right, how excited are you about the cruise? I'm pumped. Morgan, are you going also? Leah and.
Amy Brown
Yeah. Are you going?
Morgan
I don't. At this moment, I don't think so.
Amy Brown
Oh, hopefully that will change. Uh, yes, I'm excited. I. I'm. I mean, we've never done anything like this, so I'm always game for doing something new and then traveling more is on my list. So this helps me a lot because it's like work to travel for work.
Morgan
So.
Amy Brown
Boom, boom, check, check. Yeah.
Morgan
Will each of you share your favorite and least favorite bit of all time? Sean from Nevada. Love you guys. If you need a second, I can. I can go.
Amy Brown
I already know my least favorite, but it's the time mince involves me, but it's the time I had to take the hottest shot in the world.
Morgan
Oh, yeah.
Amy Brown
Thought I was gonna die. Not joking.
Morgan
So that was a really bad one.
Amy Brown
I mean, but that's just a one time bit. I guess if there's an like, is there something we do over and over that I don't really like? I mean, the wheel in general is just always a little stressful.
Morgan
Heartbeat goes up real fast when that thing comes out.
Amy Brown
Except for lately we've been doing the. You get to talk about whatever you want for a minute. So the selfish wheel is kind of awesome. Hasn't landed on me yet.
Morgan
It's landed on. Let's talk, like three times.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Morgan
I'm like, really?
Amy Brown
So that's probably. I don't know. That's my least favorite the shot. And then I. I don't know. I'm not a big fan of what's the one we do with the. We each pick three and then people vote.
Morgan
Oh, the draft.
Colleen Witt
Yeah.
Morgan
You don't like the draft?
Amy Brown
I don't. It's not my favorite. I'm like, eh, kind of bored.
Morgan
Okay.
Amy Brown
And then I get nervous, like, oh, What? Cause I think I stress of what people are going to vote for and then I'm okay, this is just a silly game. Who cares? Relax. But that's not my favorite.
Morgan
What's your favorite?
Amy Brown
I used to love Name that tune. I wish we could play that more. Name that tune was so fun. Gosh. My favorite is just when we are all just like talking, not doing a bit, just kind of fun. We're just free flowing and just conversation.
Morgan
Going naturally in different directions.
Colleen Witt
Yeah.
Morgan
Which is just.
Amy Brown
I get hard to do on the radio show, so probably the way we're doing the new podcast. I like that.
Morgan
Okay. Yeah. My least favorite was the time that I had to sing karaoke on the air. Not blind karaoke was when my mother decided to tell Eddie and Lunchbox about the fact I wanted to be a singer. And then I had to basically audition for the show. And it was. I cried before and after. Not like out of anything bad that happened, but just out of like so much that I just did not want to experience again in my life. So that one was bad and it still lives on the. On YouTube to this day.
Amy Brown
Oh yeah, your thing. Just any of our stuff that lives on forever. It's like, oh, cringe.
Morgan
Yes. It's all there. And then favorite. I always love when we do challenges. I feel like the challenges are just so much fun, whether we're getting out of the studio or we're in studio doing something. I just love when we're like having a challenge against each other. Like the time Lunchbox and I tried to change a tire faster than each other. Or like when we've gone to basketball courts and done shooting challenges. Or the football, which I'm supposed to.
Amy Brown
Still supposed to do one.
Morgan
Yeah, those are fun. I love it's. It's because I loved field trips going up. I cannot talk today. It's because I loved field trips growing up. And I feel like those are field trips to me. Like we get a day out of the studio, so fun field trips. Okay, and last one. What would be your perfect idea for a company retreat? Chris in Texas? Okay.
Amy Brown
I already have this planned out in my mind. I think about it all the time, but I think that. Are we taking a full blown retreat?
Morgan
Yeah. This is totally up to you. Chris in Texas would like you to plan it.
Amy Brown
All right. Well, we're going to go first of all, we're going to stay somewhere and it's going to be like a weekend retreat. And when we get there, we get to like have a nice dinner and some fun Games. And then maybe there's a campfire with some s'mores. And then we just really. It's been a long week, so we're just going to do that, and then we'll get some good sleep. And then in the morning, we wake up and we all do, like a morning hike together, maybe a meditation. And then we have a leader. We have somebody there that's like a. They advise people on how to build better bonds and have a stronger relationship and how to work through things, like, you know, like some corporate therapist of sorts, and they guide us through activities that will help us laugh together and cry together and have fun together. And. Yeah, I guess I don't know exactly what those activities are because I'm not the expert, but that's where we would be. We would be with the expert. And then we probably break for lunch and we'd have that. And then we'd go do some activity together, maybe play a sport, like a game of something. And then we relax with a sound bath and maybe a workout or maybe another meditation. I like that.
Morgan
This is, like, kind of intertwined to, like a wellness retreat.
Amy Brown
Yeah, that's what it would be. It would be we're taking care of ourselves, but they're also. Because. Doing some of that hard work, like the laughter and the crying and the things that get you there, that's. That's exhausting. So you got to do the other things to take care of yourself. And then we're nourished with amazing food and. Yeah, I think the whole thing. Yeah. Massages. This would be great. And Bobbi's paying for it, so that's no problem.
Morgan
It works out.
Amy Brown
Yeah. So thank you, Bobbi, but, yes, I could plan a retreat. I just am not. I don't know what activities we need exactly, but I know that we could go do something amazing and we could do certain. We'll call them games, but they would be interactive therapy.
Morgan
It'd be.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Morgan
I still think you should keep trying to make this happen because think about all the content that also comes from this.
Amy Brown
Let's call it. It's actually experiential therapy.
Morgan
Okay.
Amy Brown
You're using your body, you're getting up, you're interacting. Yeah.
Morgan
I love this.
Amy Brown
Yes.
Morgan
I'm on board.
Amy Brown
Bonding. Let's go.
Morgan
Team bonding.
Amy Brown
Ropes, core stuff. The trust fall.
Morgan
The trust fall. Maybe. Maybe we can start with the trust fall in studio. Maybe that's how we start to get them into that direction. Okay. Amy, thanks for coming on. Thanks for joining me. Let the people know where they can hear you, find you all that good stuff.

You there's been so much time and you've done so much work and there's so much healing and I know that your story is going to help multiple people, but even if it's just one, it was worth sharing.
