Podcast Host (Cushow / Nick Dickenpole Show)
On paper, the three hosts of the Nick Dickenpole show are geniuses. We can explain how AI works, data centers, but there are certain things that we don't necessarily understand better version of.
Brandon Ray
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby
Which.
Miles Turner
Which, by the way, wasn't Taylor Swift who said that for the first time.
Bobby
I actually, I thought it was.
Miles Turner
I got that wrong.
Podcast Host (Cushow / Nick Dickenpole Show)
But hey, no one's perfect. We're pretty close, though. Listen to the Nick, Dick and Paul show on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Boys and Girls Podcast Host
Then she says, have you seen a photo of my son?
Bobby
And I'm like, who is this person?
Boys and Girls Podcast Host
Welcome to the Boys and Girls Podcast. Arranged marriage is basically a reality show and you're auditioning for your soulmate. And who's judging? Only your entire family. I sacrificed myself to this ancient tradition, hoping to find love the right way. And instead I found chaos, comedy, and a lot of cringe. Listen to Boys and Girls on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Bobby
Hey, welcome to episode 589. And so we're gonna vote for the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. If you've been listening to the Bobbycats for years. You know that for some reason, they think I should have a vote. And who makes the Rock and Roll hall of Fame? And every year, we stupidly get together as a group, me and all my buddies, and make our picks and then submit it as mine, which I am not sure is legal. So it's me, Eddie, and Brandon Ray. You're gonna hear all about it. And so here we are going through all of the people that are nominated for this year's Rock and Roll hall of Fame and then us picking who we think it should be. All right, welcome to the Bobby Castle, where we are going to vote for the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. Now, the situation is I am a voting member of the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. People who vote. That's not the actual name of it, but that's what I feel like it is. And instead of me just voting, for the past few years, I've brought in my friends to help me pick. And we will nominate. I think it's seven people, so I'd like to introduce people. First of all, he's produced songs for the Beatles. He was also part of Journey. Hello, nobody. He's a music producer, singer, songwriter, artist. Brandon Ray, also the other half of my comedy band, the Raging Idiots. And he can play a bar chord, which I think is so cool. An F. Yes.
Eddie
I'm really good at that.
Bobby
With that. That's Eddie and I'm Bobby. And so here's what it says. As you make your ballot selections, please consider the following. Excellence. Has the artist demonstrated exceptional artistic quality, vision and execution? Innovation. Has the artist advanced the art through. Are you in note cards?
Eddie
I don't know. Excellence.
Bobby
You don't take notes at anything in your life.
Eddie
Now, this is important, though.
Brandon Ray
Let me write this down.
Eddie
This is the hall of Fame.
Bobby
Influence and impact. So how this will work is. Eddie and I will debate it out. If we do not come to a conclusion, Brandon, you will be the final vote. Okay, now we're supposed to nominate, I believe, seven.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby
What I'm gonna do first is go through all the selections, and you guys can just give me a line about what you think about the people. Perfect. Black crows is one of the people up for nominee. Eddie Black Crows. What comes to mind?
Eddie
You want a line? A classic. I mean, this is a classic Roc Legends. So, yes, we're not going yes or no. I'm saying classic rock legends with massive hits.
Brandon Ray
Brandon, I'm gonna. I'm gonna echo what Eddie just said. Yes.
Bobby
I'm not. I don't Think they're classic rock legends. I think they were contemporary with a classic rock sound.
Eddie
Oh, dang.
Brianna Stewart
Okay.
Bobby
Yeah. Hey. Wow.
Eddie
One up.
Bobby
That's why I'm part of the voting. No, I just think when they existed, it was new, but it was cool because it also had very old elements to it. But they still made it new and they did have some. Some jam. So.
Eddie
Yeah, I guess we were around when they were doing it, so around.
Bobby
We were buying their music.
Eddie
Now, we were young, though. I mean, I remember some of the albums. I was probably in middle school.
Bobby
When she Talks to Angels came out, that's probably what, 12, right.
Brandon Ray
Huge influences on all of us.
Bobby
We've said, now she Talks to Angels. That song came out. She Talks to Angels.
Eddie
I'm gonna guess 93.
Bobby
Oh, well, still, I remember 90. 90.
Miles Turner
Yeah.
Eddie
See, man, we're young.
Bobby
Also, they had a song that was a cover that I didn't know was a cover until I got older.
Eddie
Too hard to handle now.
Brandon Ray
Yeah.
Bobby
Which is a jam, obviously. Okay, so they're up. Black Crows. And if we want. If anybody goes eliminated, let me know. You can't. We won't say yes yet, but if you think there's no way they should
Eddie
be in, we can say that now.
Bobby
You can say that now because there's 2, 4, 6.
Brandon Ray
Eddie, can you hand me a note card?
Bobby
10, 12, 13. There's like 17.
Amber Grimes
Thanks.
Eddie
Jeff Buckley, definitely not eliminated.
Bobby
Now. Jeff Buckley, to me, has one song and it's great. And it's a. It's even a cover song.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby
And he had a good album. And by the way, heck of a documentary.
Eddie
Great documentary.
Bobby
I hope people can watch that too. I just don't. I don't think just because you're dead
Eddie
it should help you, but you can't do anything else.
Bobby
That's right.
Eddie
So if you were alive, he would have made more music.
Bobby
You don't know that well.
Eddie
You don't know if there's a lot
Bobby
of one hit wonders. The logic of a one hit wonder is dead then. Because they kept living after they had a great song.
Eddie
That's not fair, though. Those one hit wonders. They had the chance. Jeff Buckley didn't have the chance.
Bobby
Lou Vega, Mambo number five.
Brandon Ray
He had the chance.
Bobby
Jam. Okay. Jeff Buckley. So what I'll just say quickly about Jeff Buckley is I do really love his sound and I loved when his sound was. Because it was so the juxtaposition of him and all that other music that
Eddie
was happening at the time. Sure.
Bobby
Completely different.
Eddie
Yep.
Bobby
And he was very avant. Garde. Acoustic or electric set? Yeah, it was just minimal. Can I go minimal?
Brandon Ray
Avant garde is a great way to put his music.
Bobby
Thank you very much.
Eddie
Very minimal.
Bobby
And then. I worked on American Idol for a bunch of years. Everybody did that song.
Eddie
Really?
Bobby
It made me hate it.
Eddie
Well, you know why they did it? Because Jeff Buckley's voice was unbelievable. So to them, they're feeling if I cover a Jeff Buckley song, they're going to see my voice as something unbelievable.
Bobby
True. I almost want to say eliminated. I won't.
Eddie
Don't do it.
Bobby
I just don't think he has the body of work.
Brandon Ray
Are we doing the tiebreaker now or what?
Eddie
He can for elimination.
Bobby
Oh, you can say eliminated if you
Brandon Ray
want to eliminate it.
Bobby
Okay. Wow. I'll second it. No. Jeff Buckley.
Eddie
You guys suck.
Bobby
I think his work. I loved it. I just don't think it's enough.
Eddie
You need to listen to grace the album.
Bobby
You need to listen to two people that are talking and say eliminated, because we've eliminated it. Next up, Mariah Carey. One of the greatest pop stars to ever exist. That's my line.
Eddie
Yes, yes. I mean, huge name. Who doesn't know Mariah Care. Who doesn't know Mariah Carey? Like, everyone knows Mariah Carey.
Bobby
Oh, then you didn't love Mariah Carey then.
Eddie
No, I didn't. But Christmas time, it's got one of the biggest Christmas songs ever.
Brandon Ray
When I was 10 years old, I wrote a letter to Mariah carey. This is 100% true. Put a picture of myself holding a presentation like, merry Christmas to you. You're a huge inspiration. Fantasy. The album is incredible. No response still to this day.
Bobby
No. Keep waiting. She's getting around. No, no, no, no. I think she hasn't gotten around to it.
Brandon Ray
That's true.
Bobby
The first two CDs I ever bought. Not tapes, CDs. The first two CDs I ever bought were ACDC, Ball Breaker and Mariah Carey.
Eddie
Stop, stop, Brandon.
Brandon Ray
No, no, no, no. Those were literally two of my. My favorite CDs too.
Eddie
Oh, but those weren't the first two you bought.
Brandon Ray
No, no.
Bobby
It was like acdc, Ball Breaker and Mariah Carey. Fantasy, dude were the two. Yeah. And then I wrote her a letter and she was like, why is this Brandy guy mailing me letters? And I was like, trust me, later in life. So, okay, Mariah Carey said, I don't think we could possibly eliminate her.
Eddie
You can't eliminate her.
Bobby
Two eliminations for that. Phil Collins. Oh, man. Phil Collins. And I'm going from non note. So if I'm Wrong about stuff. I'm happy to admit. In a later episode. Phil Collins was the drummer of Genesis.
Eddie
Correct.
Bobby
They looked for a lead singer, and it was almost like Dick Cheney. When it was like, Dick Cheney's like, I'm gonna find a vice president. I guess it's me, you know? That's how he ended up being the vice president.
Eddie
So what was Peter Gabriel?
Bobby
He was a singer.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby
He was a lead singer. And so Peter Gabriel goes and does his own thing, leaves the band. Phil Collins is just like, I got microphones. It's so crazy to sing and play drums. It is, because when I play drums, I can't sing, and when I sing, I can't play drums, but I can't sing or play drums. So it's really a mix.
Eddie
It's like the patting your head and rubbing your stomach, you know? Like, it really is.
Bobby
Phil Collins is awesome.
Eddie
Yeah, he's awesome.
Bobby
And that's almost, to me going, that's. He should just be one of the seven. We can get back around to it. But his sound, to me, nothing personifies the cool 80s. Because I think there's lame 80s.
Eddie
There's hair band 80s. Yeah.
Bobby
I think there's Michael Jackson 80s, and I think there's cool 80s. Phil Collins, to me, is cool, ladies.
Eddie
Yeah, I. I mean, Phil Collins is. I mean, I'm surprised he's not in the hall of fame already. I'll say that. Like, I thought I would have. Thought I would have bet a hundred dollars that he was already in there.
Bobby
Tarzan. Do I have to say it? I was gonna say, you'll be in my heart. You'll be in my heart. And then imagine this. So watch this. You'll be in my heart. He's doing it himself. Okay. Still in. We've only limited one so far. Melissa Etheridge. Mm. She has. Awesome. Cause I'm the only one. That's not even the biggest jam to me.
Eddie
Come to my window.
Bobby
What's lum to my window?
Eddie
I thought it was look through my window.
Bobby
No, that's what you do on weekends. Come to my window. I'm not gonna eliminate her because I think she was big, like Lilith Fair, which very much more than just songs.
Brandon Ray
Huge.
Bobby
I'm not gonna eliminate her. It's gonna be tough for her to break top seven for me.
Eddie
I think she was a spokesperson for lesbians all around the world.
Brandon Ray
Absolutely.
Eddie
I don't know if she was, but she was for them.
Bobby
She is a tireless advocate for LGBTQ rights, breast cancer awareness. Oh, were you looking for me to Back you up. After that, I was like.
Eddie
I kind of. No, you were right.
Bobby
Yeah. Yeah. Ye. I think. Yeah. She picked up a guitar Day Jade.
Eddie
I'm not gonna.
Bobby
I'm gonna. I'm gonna eliminate her.
Eddie
Okay, I'll eliminate her, too. I'm glad you did, because I was thinking it.
Bobby
Yeah.
Eddie
But if I was alone. I'm not gonna be alone on that island.
Bobby
Yeah. I'm gonna eliminate her. She did have some jams. And I do understand her cultural significance.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby
It's gonna be a tough year to get in.
Brandon Ray
Yeah.
Bobby
Lauryn Hill.
Eddie
Lauryn Hill, man.
Bobby
I love that she shows up at her own concerts four hours late. You know what I mean?
Eddie
That was recent.
Bobby
I think we should consider that. I think into her body of work is that she never gets to her shows on time.
Eddie
I'm surprised by that because you are a person that loves timeliness.
Bobby
Yeah. And if I was there, I'd be mad, but it's just hilarious that she starts the show at, like, 12:30.
Brandon Ray
Can you award tardiness, though, you know,
Bobby
for Rock and Roll hall of Fame? What's more rock and roll than being late than not being on tardies?
Eddie
That's a really good point. So this is Lauryn Hill, not Fugees. Lauryn Hill as a solo artist.
Bobby
Correct. Lauryn Hill, X Factor. Lauryn Hill, Doo Wop Sister act girl. Yeah. You know, watch out. Lump to my window. And then watch it. Lump to my window is not a thing. Okay, I just did that.
Eddie
Just make fun of me because it's looked through my window.
Bobby
But I don't think we can consider that as part of the Fugees. Although I'm telling you, that album, the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, that's awesome. So breakthrough. So amazing that even, like, me, I bought that record. I'm gonna leave her in for now.
Brandon Ray
The impact. The cultural impact is there.
Bobby
That's one of the greatest. I think it's one of the. Whatever. The 250 greatest albums of all time. I think that should be considered.
Brandon Ray
Agreed.
Bobby
So we won't kick her out.
Brandon Ray
We interrupt this interview to bring you
Bobby
a message from our sponsor. And, Doug, there's nowhere I wouldn't go

I think coming out of where I came from, I'm from the Bronx. I think I grew up really poor. I didn't know that then because I very much use my creativity to romanticize life, and I'm like, my mom did a really good job of, like, you step back and you're like, whoa, We. I don't know how we made it. So a lot of my life was, like, built out of, like, survival to get to the next place. Like, my drive, my, like, tunnel vision of, like, I gotta be better. I gotta achieve. This was off. The strengths of, like, I want to make a better life for us.
If youf Knew Better brings real talk from women who've lived it, unpacking, career pivots, relationship lessons, and the mindset shifts that changed everything. Listen to if youf Knew Better with Amber grimes on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

Bobby
And we're back on the Bobbycast. Billy Idol, wedding singer. Yes.
Eddie
He was an actor and wedding singer.
Bobby
He's just a little before me. This is tough because not only was he before me, you know how we talk about cheesy 80s.
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby
He fits in that for me, he was cheesy 80s, but that doesn't mean he's not awesome. He does have white wedding.
Eddie
And Rebel Yale.
Bobby
Oh, yeah, Rebel. Yeah.
Eddie
And he had the Elvis lip, too. I don't know if I met him. Do you remember last year where.
Bobby
Backstage at a festival. He's nice.
Eddie
That's cool.
Bobby
Yeah, he's.
Eddie
Well, that's good. I mean, I think that alone should get him in. Yeah. Consider him at least.
Bobby
And he had a nice day for money.
Brianna Stewart
And then.
Bobby
Oh, is it nice to start again, man, he had a bunch of songs.
Eddie
That's White Wedding.
Brandon Ray
That is White Wedding.
Podcast Host (Cushow / Nick Dickenpole Show)
Yeah.
Bobby
Well, then he had that one twice. Billy Idol. We gonna leave him in?
Eddie
I would leave him in.
Bobby
Okay.
Eddie
To me, that's a. Again, classic rock legend.
Bobby
Okay. In excess, man.
Eddie
I don't know much about in excess other than the guy.
Bobby
Yeah.
Eddie
Killed himself. Didn't maybe didn't mean to. He was trying to get off.
Bobby
Yeah. It's weird you'd say it like that.
Eddie
Is that not what it is?
Bobby
Yeah, but I wouldn't have said it, like. Yeah, yeah. That's just a weird way to even say it. Even just feels creepy.
Eddie
It does feel weird, actually. Once I said it, I was like, that's kind of weird.
Bobby
Yeah.
Brandon Ray
New wave.
Bobby
But then like 90s. And to me, I just. I want you to know. What is that song?
Eddie
Don't know.
Bobby
I'll do it again. I want you to know. Okay.
Brandon Ray
Yeah.
Bobby
Still.
Eddie
Do you know that one, Brandon? No, I don't.
Bobby
Because it's like, don't make me look up NXS song.
Eddie
Everything is the Tarzan song.
Bobby
He goes. Cause it's down right now. Did you Go. Oh, I want you to do that.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby
Okay.
Eddie
Yeah, okay. I know that one. I know.
Bobby
Oh, I need you tonight. That's what it is. Is that same song?
Eddie
I don't know. But I do know that.
Bobby
Oh, no. Okay, there's the mo.
Eddie
So that's an excess.
Bobby
Okay, I'm gonna eliminate them. Let's eliminate them. I enjoyed the bit we just did,
Eddie
but I bet that. I bet they're huge and I bet they probably deserve to be in there, but I just don't. Yeah.
Brandon Ray
Didn't they have the.
Miles Turner
What?
Brandon Ray
The Rockstar Supernov looking for a lead singer.
Bobby
For a new lead singer. That's right. Brandon. Fun fact. Brandon won that.
Brandon Ray
Yeah.
Bobby
Yeah.
Eddie
And then he just quit.
Bobby
Dark times. Yeah. All he knew was. And they were like, nah, man, you gotta learn more. Oh, oh. We know. A new sensation. I know that one sense right now. What else did. Four top 10 singles in the US that's not enough for Rock and Roll hall of Fame.
Eddie
As far as our voting influence and impact. What do you think?
Bobby
I don't think so. So eliminate Iron Maiden. That's not for me.
Eddie
It's not. Definitely not for me either. But I remember people would call me Eddie the Iron Maiden because I think the Iron Maiden mascot, his name was Eddie.
Bobby
I didn't know that.
Brandon Ray
I think you're right.
Eddie
Which I think was the guy, you know, the skeleton and all the artwork. But no, dude, I couldn't. I couldn't name you one Iron Maiden song.
Bobby
The only thing about Iron Maiden that I know. And Brandon's much more. Brandon sang background vocals on the new. Not Iron Maiden album, but the new Megadeth album.
Brandon Ray
Megadeth, who's opening their tour this year.
Bobby
Opening the Iron Maiden.
Eddie
Iron Maiden.
Bobby
Oh, then you better say yes. Cause you'll get beat up.
Brandon Ray
Totally awesome.
Bobby
They kind of set the standard for what like metal should look like and like be like the whole thing. Yeah, it's not for me. Brandon, lend us something here.
Brandon Ray
Big song, Run for the Hills. If you. If you hear it, you'll be like, yeah, I know that song.
Bobby
Okay, give us a little bit as a go. Watching now.
Eddie
Does it have harmonizing guitars? Like is that kind of their thing?
Brandon Ray
Ton of that stuff? Their cultural impact globally. There is a. There's a documentary called. It's called Flight 666. Totally appropriate. Their lead singer is a pilot and he flies their 747 jet all over the world for their two way stuff. Right.
Eddie
If you were the pilot of outraging idiots plane, that'd be so Weird.
Brandon Ray
For real. But everywhere they go. I'm telling you. Soccer stadiums, bro. They fill up soccer stadiums all over the country.
Bobby
Except America. Or they do America, too.
Brandon Ray
They do America. I think it's more arena type stuff, but I think.
Eddie
But you know, like, so they are an American.
Bobby
They're another American. I think they're British, right?
Brandon Ray
British.
Bobby
Yeah, yeah. You know, Edward McCain drives his own tour bus.
Brandon Ray
That's cool.
Eddie
Does he really?
Brandon Ray
Well, I'll be. Get up.
Bobby
Yeah, yeah. Joy Division.
Eddie
New Order.
Bobby
Not my vibe, man. Electronic is. I can't act like that. I'm such a fan to vote for them because there are other good ones. I'm going to be ignorant on Joy Division. I listened to some before I came in. It's not my thing. I can't vote for them.
Eddie
Same.
Bobby
I eliminate them.
Eddie
I would eliminate them, too. I mean, brother were here, he would probably be able to speak on their music and how awesome they are. But, man, I don't. I don't know anything about them.
Bobby
Yeah.
Brandon Ray
I just know the shirt.
Eddie
What shirt?
Bobby
The one everybody wears now.
Brandon Ray
Joy Division shirt. And is it rock and roll?
Eddie
Well, it doesn't matter.
Brandon Ray
I know Lauren Hill Rock and Roll
Bobby
hall of Fame is just contemporary music.
Eddie
Is Mariah Carey rock and roll.
Brandon Ray
Yeah.
Bobby
Dude, she did make a. Wasn't she the one that made the hit the Secret Rock album? It never came out.
Eddie
Oh, well then. Well, I mean, it never came out.
Bobby
Yeah, yeah. That's a whole other debate about rock and roll. Because they do fight about it, but I think if it's contemporary music, that counts as rock and roll.
Miles Turner
That's a good point.
Brandon Ray
No, I like it.
Bobby
You don't like it, but that's okay. I understand why you would say that.
Eddie
So are we eliminating Joy Division?
Bobby
I am.
Eddie
Yeah. I would eliminate.
Bobby
Okay, New Edition.
Eddie
Dude, I don't know who they are. Who's New Edition?
Brandon Ray
You don't know New Edition?
Eddie
You don't know New Edition? No. Sing me a song of theirs.
Bobby
Which one would you like?
Brandon Ray
Bobby Brown.
Eddie
Pick one. Oh, it's Bobby Brown.
Bobby
Yeah, man. Oh, like, like. Want to cool It Now.
Brandon Ray
Cool.
Bobby
It's hard for me to say Cool It Now. Cool.
Eddie
You know?
Bobby
Cool It Now. Cool. Yeah. Cool it now is the jam. Telephone man was a jam, but Bobby
Eddie
Brown was a big artist alone.
Bobby
Okay, see, Johnny Gill was in. So you don't. Okay, so because of your lack of knowledge of it, you can eliminate it. I will leave them in for now.
Eddie
I would say eliminate based on that. I just don't want to act like, oh, yeah, they definitely need to be in when I know nothing about it.
Bobby
I love new addition growing up. But you can eliminate. I'm not choosing to. But if you do, we're gone.
Brandon Ray
Are we at that stage yet?
Bobby
You can eliminate. We're just eliminating only. Are you eliminating?
Brandon Ray
I'm gonna. I'm gonna. Eliminating.
Eddie
Okay, good.
Bobby
Haters. Okay. All right. Oasis. Yeah.
Eddie
Just put them in Oasis. Wasn't Oasis in the last year, too?
Bobby
Yeah, they make it. What? It doesn't really matter. They're just. They just put them in the hall of fame.
Brandon Ray
I just don't want them mad at me.
Bobby
Build a wing, you know?
Brandon Ray
Yeah.
Bobby
I don't know what else we need to say about Oasis, except they hit us right in our right time of our age of our lives.
Eddie
Yes, sure.
Bobby
Like, what's story, Morning Glory?
Eddie
When Wonderwall came out, it's like, what is that sound?
Brandon Ray
Right.
Eddie
I love it all.
Bobby
My wife, who is not an Oasis fan because she grew up Beyond. She's basically 12 years younger than I am. She did not get to experience Oasis when they were reuniting, it was all up in her TikTok feed. And she was like, I think I'm into this. And so it was so much in her algorithm, she said, hey, they're getting back together in Manchester. Do you want to go to Manchester? Like, it convinced her that quick. That's cool. Oasis stays in, right?
Eddie
Absolutely. Do not eliminate.
Bobby
Okay, we have five more Pink.
Eddie
I'm coming up.
Bobby
That's when you go to. Interesting.
Eddie
Yes. That's my first Pink song.
Bobby
So I was in radio whenever Pink started in, like, 98 or so. There you go. Talking about. And she was signed to, like, LaFace, which was. She was like a hip hop artist at first, kinda. And that was kind of a presentation. And she's changed over the years because she's so, like, just so talented. Pink's awesome, man. I just don't even. You know what's weird about Pink is I don't feel she's old.
Brandon Ray
That's me, too. It's like, wow, like, already, like, I feel like.
Eddie
Do you guys think it's too early? Cause it could be too early for some artists.
Bobby
I say, well, so 25 years after the debut album, I think that's it. So it's that for her, she started young, but she just is still so young to me now. Like, when I see her, because she was filling in for Kelly Clarkson's show, so relevant. Like, it's not even. Yeah, it's not even about that. She doesn't Deserve to be in.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby
I feel like she's so relevant now.
Eddie
And we saw her perform a few years ago at a festival where she. Remember, she was hanging acrobatic stuff.
Brandon Ray
I mean, she's so current. It's hard to see her as, like, a legend act. You know what I'm saying?
Bobby
I think that eliminates her because I think she deserves to get in, but I think she's still so relevant. She has so much more time to get in that half these other actors are gonna die in the next week. Yeah.
Eddie
So they need to get in. We need to expedite their.
Bobby
So I'm only eliminating Pink because she's so relevant now.
Eddie
Okay. Okay. I like that.
Bobby
It's a pure respect elimination.
Brandon Ray
It's a complimentary elimination.
Eddie
Do you want to jump in on that?
Brandon Ray
I'm in.
Eddie
Okay. Eliminate.
Bobby
Hang tight. The Bobby cast will be right back.
Amber Grimes
It's the new me and it's the old them.

This Women's History Month, the podcast if youf Knew Better with Amber Grimes spotlights women who turn missteps into momentum and lessons into power.
I think coming out of where I came from, I'm from the Bronx. I think I grew up really poor. I didn't know that then because I very much use my creativity to romanticize life, and I'm like, my mom did a really good job of, like, you step back and you're like, whoa. We. I don't know how we made it. So a lot of my life was, like, built out of, like, survival to get to the next place. Like, my drive, my, like, tunnel vision of, like, I gotta be better, I gotta achieve. This was off. The strengths of, like, I want to make a better life for a.

Podcast Host (Guaranteed Human / Adventures of Curiosity Cove)
Sphincter, peristalsis, duodenum. It's fascinating, it's funny, and it matters so much more than you think.

Bobby
Welcome back to the Bobby Cast Shot A shade. Man. If I tell you I listen to Shade in the Bathtub. If I tell you I've done it once, I've done it 100 times. Wow.
Eddie
When's the last time you did it?
Bobby
It's been a while. Because I'm married now.
Brandon Ray
It's been a while.
Bobby
So she has a couple songs you would know anyway.
Eddie
I know, Like Smooth Operator, I'm a smooth operator.
Bobby
And then never. I just wish I could sing or play drums.
Eddie
And that is S, A, D, E. Right?
Brandon Ray
Sade with a thingy.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby
Yeah.
Eddie
Oh, I remember her. She was really pretty.
Bobby
That sounded creepy. It sounded like when you said get off or whatever.
Eddie
I mean, I remember that. She was pretty.
Bobby
Dude, she was really pretty, man. Let me find this song from. I used to think it was Sade,
Eddie
because that's how it's spelled, but it is in your own.
Bobby
None of my friends ever listened to her, so I never had heard it. So I only just said what I saw. I'm gonna pull up here. So the song that I love so much, and I can't play it because it's gonna be. We'll get in trouble.
Eddie
It's not Smooth Operator?
Bobby
No. Smooth Operator was a big hit, but, man, the one I listen to in the bathtub all the time.
Eddie
The Bathtub?
Bobby
Not that one.
Eddie
Hold on. Ooh, that saxophone, man.
Bobby
Jezebel, Sweetest Taboo. Maybe it's not on our greatest hits. I'm such a.
Eddie
It was a B side that you would listen to in the back.
Bobby
Oh, no. I'm telling you, dude, if you heard it. Let me see what her biggest songs are. If you heard this song, you'd probably want to take a bath.
Eddie
Well, let's hear it.
Bobby
That's how good it is. Mike, what's her biggest streaming song? It is Smooth Operator.
Eddie
So would you purposely look for this song while you were in the bath, or did it just come out on a playlist?
Bobby
It's the greatest song ever. That's not it. I gotta find it and then come back. I can't put her in, though. I can't base it on bath time, love alone. I can't.
Eddie
I mean, you can.
Bobby
You can do whatever you want.
Brandon Ray
Time hall of Fame. She'd be number one.
Bobby
Yeah, I definitely have to find what song that is. You think I've been inside you, baby, you know me better than that. That's how it kind of goes. I'm kind of getting it now in my head. That's it. By your side.
Eddie
Find it, find it.
Bobby
Oh, I can't really play it on this because Netflix will fire us.
Brandon Ray
I just like hearing you sing it.
Eddie
I know, but I do too. Don't get me wrong. But I can never know what song it is when you're singing it. Yeah, that's the hard part.
Bobby
I know.
Brandon Ray
Still makes me want to take.
Bobby
Let's say we play like. Nah, I'll just play it for you in a little bit. But it goes. I think I'll be. You know me better than that. Okay.
Eddie
All right.
Bobby
I love that song. Can't put her in. I'll have to eliminate her. Just because it, to me, wasn't enough of a fan. We got three more before we pick Shakira. Oh, Eddie's listening to his phone.
Eddie
Oh, quiet.
Bobby
See if you recognize that.
Eddie
Okay. Eddie's got it up to his little acoustic guitar.
Bobby
Yeah, I wonder if it's the same.
Eddie
It's called by your side.
Bobby
That's it. Yeah.
Eddie
Yeah, you can hear a little bit.
Bobby
Can you hear it go.
Eddie
All I'm doing now is picturing you in the bath. Eyes closed.
Bobby
Bubbles, too. Bubbles.
Eddie
Are you playing with any? Like, what's wrong? No, listen. Like a rubber ducky. You have toys in there.
Bobby
What's wrong with you?
Eddie
I've heard this song.
Bobby
Isn't it awesome? You know me better than that. I'm gonna eliminate, though.
Eddie
Yeah, I'm with you. Eliminate.
Bobby
Shakira.
Eddie
Shakira. Shakira.
Bobby
A little bit of pink complex here. Not as much pink, because I think pink's a little more relevant. I think Shakira internationally is massive. Shakira, like, what comes to mind? Are you Wycliffe doing hips don't lie?
Eddie
Hips don't lie for sure. And then there is one that came out in a cartoon, I think, like Zootopia. Say everything.
Bobby
How about whenever let's be together.
Eddie
Jam.
Bobby
A little bit of the pink complex here. I think she's still a little too young for me to give her a spot right now. Yeah, it's a bit age discrimination. I know.
Eddie
Are we eliminating too much, though? Are we gonna run out of people?
Bobby
I don't think so. When they have two, talk about, okay, Luther Vandross. The NCAA tournament is not as sweet as it can't can be without one shiny moment. One shiny moment.
Eddie
That's right.
Bobby
Luther Vandross was kind of a one of one. Meaning he did the whole came up Apollo Theater where they would just boo you if you sucked.
Eddie
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Is that the cane when they get the cane out?
Bobby
No, that's the frog on Looney Tunes.
Brandon Ray
Hello.
Bobby
My confused. He was like a background singer, songwriter. Like a ranger through the 70s. Was like. I don't want to say crooner, because I don't know if that's enough. If that's respectful enough. I love. Like your endless love.
Eddie
Yeah, Yeah. I remember that one dance with my father.
Bobby
Remember dancing my father. That's all. Makes me want to cry because I didn't have a father and I can't. And I couldn't dance with him.
Eddie
You couldn't dance with him because you didn't have one.
Bobby
Yeah, but that was a great song.
Eddie
That hit hard for you.
Bobby
Yeah.
Eddie
What about the. The Kendrick song? Like this World is Mine.
Bobby
That's Luther.
Eddie
Okay, so that's Luther Vandross, Right?
Bobby
That song's Luther. See, that's.
Eddie
That's cool.
Bobby
I'm leaving Luther Vandross in.
Eddie
Yeah, I like it so too.
Bobby
And. And then Wu Tang. I don't know how this thing happens without Wu Tang. I'll be honest with you. Are you not a Wu Tang guy?
Eddie
Yeah. I mean, I don't know a lot of Wu Tang, man. This is a bad year for me, dude. There's a lot of. I'm finding myself saying I don't know a lot of these.
Bobby
I'm going to say something controversial. I think that odb, even by himself, is one of the best hip hop artists that ever existed.
Eddie
And ODB was in KLU Klan.
Brandon Ray
Did you just have a stroke?
Bobby
Wu Tang. Wu Tang.
Eddie
Why did that even creep in, Dude? What is wrong with me today?
Bobby
Wu Tang.
Eddie
ODV wasn't Wu Tang.
Brianna Stewart
Yeah.
Eddie
Okay. Yeah.
Bobby
Met the man, Ghostface Killa.
Eddie
I know all those guys. Yeah.
Bobby
Raekwon, you're crazy, man. I'm sure there are others that I'm not pulling. Those are the ones that came to my mind the most.
Eddie
I know all those guys.
Bobby
I.
Eddie
So what were you saying? None of this could be.
Bobby
I just don't think. I think that was like a collective. That was. They made freaking. And again, you gotta understand, this is a white guy from Arkansas saying this, right? Because people are gonna be like, you don't have a hip hop. You're right. You're right. They were so great and new and transcendent as a group, and then they had the ability to all break off into their own projects and then still come back and like. And like Wu Tang forever. Mm. But also grew up in a school that wasn't Hawaiian. So, like, I have a lot of resentment. I don't know. I was a Wu Tang kid for a big A big part of my kidness. So you love them, and I love odb. Oh, baby. You. No.
Eddie
Nope. Who is that?
Bobby
That is so you'd never met a girl that you try to date, and you never ever died that you got to date, and there's never that ever died that you try to date. Yeah, you. You got what I need.
Eddie
That's not odb.
Bobby
Marquis. Yeah, Biz Markey, he was also on the kids show. Remember kids show? He played the music in the Nickelodeon show.
Eddie
You can't say that on television.
Bobby
No, no, no. Oh, you don't know anything about Biz Markey, do you?
Eddie
No, I don't.
Bobby
Yo Gabba Gabba, he was a music
Eddie
guy,
Bobby
And go Bismarck. He's not up for it. Okay, okay, so here's who we have that we haven't eliminated. We got to pick seven. All right, we got the Black Crows.
Eddie
Yep.
Bobby
Mariah, Phil Collins. That's three. Lauryn Hill, Oasis, Luther Vandross, and Wu Tang. That's seven. I think we picked our seven here.
Eddie
Well, that was easy. That's easy, dude. That's what I'm saying. We were eliminating a lot while we were just talking that. I'm like, are we gonna have enough?
Bobby
I think we did it.
Eddie
Okay, can you name those again? Black cracks.
Bobby
I'm vote. I got to vote in for the Black Crows. Boom.
Eddie
Are you submitting right now?
Bobby
Right now. That's awesome. And by the way, if anyone is watching this from the committee turn channel, because we've done this before, and I keep waiting to not be invited back as a member.
Eddie
But you do.
Bobby
You still did, and I still get the invites. Like, please vote Mariah Carey. That's two. I'm going to make sure you're here. Phil Collins. That's three.
Eddie
That's good.
Bobby
Lauryn Hill. That's four. Oasis is five. Luther Vandross is six, and Wu Tang is seven.
Eddie
That's awesome, dude.
Brandon Ray
There you go.
Bobby
We did it. Okay, so I did all seven Wu Tang. Do you want to see? Like, here's my votes, just to show you guys the yellow ones here.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby
All of them. I'm gonna do submit my votes. All right.
Eddie
I'm a little hurt that Jeff Buckley's not in there, but it's okay.
Brandon Ray
There's always next year.
Eddie
You already submitted. It's too late.
Bobby
I don't. Well, they want to know. Hold on. Age range?
Eddie
Okay, your age range.
Bobby
Well, then this is ethnicity and race, and I think combined, we're kind of a. It's in a pickle.
Eddie
But we're just gonna go hybrid.
Bobby
We're just gonna. No, we're not a hybrid.
Eddie
Yeah, we're hybrids.
Bobby
Okay, Caucasian. All right, we're in, boys. Okay,
Eddie
Caucasian. Got it. Check.
Bobby
Yeah. Two versus one.
Eddie
Yeah, it's fine, dude.
Bobby
Yeah, that's fine. Thank you. So I feel good. Everybody feel good about that?
Eddie
Yeah, kind of.
Bobby
Okay. Okay. Thanks for listening to that episode. What you're gonna hear in the next episode. They may already even be up by the time you hear this, but tomorrow, if you're listening to this, brand new is with Chris Robinson, lead singer of the Black Crows. So he's one of the artists that we just picked that should go in the rock and roll hall of fame. So listen to that. Thank you for listening, and until next time, Bye, everybody.
