To every school that competed, posted and rallied your communities, thank you and a big thanks to T Mobile for making it all possible and helping communities shine under the Friday night lights. This season may be over, but the story isn't. Stay tuned for season three in 2026.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Welcome to episode 562 of the Bobby Cast. It is me, also with Morgan, Number one and Mike D. So I want to tell a story about this album right here. This is Old Crow Medicine Show Christmas Vinyl. If you're watching on YouTube, you can see it here. And signed by all the guys of Old Crow Medicine Show. And so yesterday I went to a record store in town called Grimy's. And Grimy's, if you ever come to Nashville and you're looking for a cool record store, it's probably one of the top three. Mike.
Mike D
Yeah, I would say number one.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I would say number one too, but I'm not cool enough to know the top record store.
Mike D
I'll say number one.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I know two record stores.
Mike D
That and Third man, that and the.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
One that Jack White owns. Those are the only ones that I know. And I've been to Jack White's and. And it's cool, but it's really small.
Mike D
Yeah.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
And this one's a lot bigger and they have older vinyl. So I go in and I was looking for some records, not to play, but to just have put up on little stands inside of our new studio. And so I'm in and I'm looking for Counting Crows August and everything. After I'm looking for a Foo Fighters record, I'm looking for like old Buddy Holly stuff, just stuff that I like. And when I get to Grimy's, there's a lot of cars in the parking lot and it's 230 in the afternoon and so I have to drive all the way around. Not a huge parking lot, but I have to drive all the way around just to find an open spot. And I'm like, dang, what's going on here? So I walk in and there is a band that's playing the small stage in the record store. And so like, oh, that's interesting. It's a bluegrass band. And they don't have like a solo microphone for the person. They have one of those Microphones that everybody kind of gathers around while they're playing their instruments. And. Okay, cool. I picked a day where somebody's showcasing their music, but I'm still gonna look for the records that I want. Not gonna pay much attention to it, but if it's good, maybe I'll take a Instagram story and post it up. So they keep playing the same song over and over again, and they haven't really walked up to the stage yet, but they play the song four times in a row, and like, man, these guys must have just one song. And so finally they're like, okay, I think that's good. And I walk a little closer to it because I'm trying to find, like, the used albums because vinyl is expensive. It's like 40 bucks for a new one. So I was trying to find used stuff because, again, I just wanted to use the. More than anything. Just, like, the case. What would you call it? Sleeve. Yeah. Thanks. And so I realize it's all Crow Medicine show up on the stage. Now. I have met Catch a few times. I've played the Opry. When he's played the Opry, he's done the radio show. Has he ever done this podcast?
Mike D
No.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Radio show, though, so. So I know Catch enough, though. If I saw him at a grocery store, I. I'd say hi. If we were close enough, I wouldn't chase him down. Like, I don't know him that well to go chase him down to say hi, but I know him well enough that if we're in the same place, for sure. And so he comes up, and again, I'm gonna be honest with you guys. I didn't know they were there, but I do enjoy Old Crow Medicine show and Rock Me Mama Like a Wagon Wheel, Catch comes out. We go, dude, thanks for coming to the show. I was like, yeah, yeah. Wouldn't miss it. I don't think I said wouldn't miss it, to be honest. I think I said something like, yeah. Like something very nondescript, like, yeah, how about that?
Mike D
It's definitely why I'm here.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
And so they were rehearsing is why they kept playing the same song over and over again. I didn't realize. And they'd put Christmas hats on. And that's when I realized they were playing the show. And then people started to jam pack into the record store. And so he's like, man, thanks for coming. Let me get you a record. And he got the whole band to sign it. And then I also had to get home. I got a pregnant wife, and it's almost 5 o' clock. And so I got a pregnant wife and she was expecting me to get food and bring food back too. And so they were starting the show, but I didn't want to walk out before they started the show because I just had this whole conversation with them about Arkansas, about he's now engaged to Molly Tuttle and they just got engaged. And I hope that that's not a secret. You may look and see if that's up anywhere. So when they start playing, I watched a song and then I. I slowly backed out. Like, I just. So to everybody, this is what I mean. Check out Old Crow Medicine Shows Christmas album. OCMS Xmas. You can see it here. Are they engaged? What's it say?
Mike D
Yeah, sorry, came out 20 minutes ago is what I'm seeing.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Oh, that's great. Well, this is going to take a minute for you post it. Okay. There you go.
Mike D
Well, good.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So what I'd like to say, because I was not totally honest about it, about why I was there, is support them, stream their music or check out their vinyl Okro Medicine Show Christmas. There you go. That's what happened yesterday. And then I posted the picture on Instagram and more than one person was like, why are you at a show on a weeknight? So I wasn't. It was like 4 o' clock in the afternoon and I was trying to find vinyl.
Mike D
I assumed you were like filming a special or something or doing a segment with them.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
An Old Crow Medicine Show Christmas special.
Mike D
He has to be going out for content if he's out on a weeknight.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, well, it wasn't. I posted it at night. Yeah, but it was an afternoon and I kind of walked in on that. So I have Morgan here as well. I think we should talk about. I. I don't think it's a mess up. I think there was just a bit of confusion, so.
Bobby Bones
Oh man.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I was very excited because there is a former Navy SEAL that has a massive podcast named Sean Ryan. And I consume his podcast mostly through clips, which I think is how a lot of people consume a lot of stuff. But. But I watch enough of it. I recently just watched one of this woman who escaped North Korea. Have you guys seen that one? Cindy Club dude, crazy. Like at night they don't even have electricity. Like it all gets shut off in North Korea. Like she didn't even know what was outside of North Korea, obviously, because they have such a propaganda machine. And Sean Ryan was asking her, like, how did you escape? Like, how did you know when to escape? Because they will just shoot you. Those guards on the North Korea, South Korea border, the ones from North Korea, I've seen enough videos where people have tried to escape. They just shoot and kill you. They don't let you escape. She said they picked the absolute coldest, most miserable day in North Korea to escape because they knew the guards wouldn't want to be uncomfortable and be standing outside. And so you got to do what.
Bobby Bones
You got to do.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, but you don't even know what's out there. Right, Right. You don't even know if you're escaping, what you're escaping to. So I'm watching this video, and I was just actually just purposefully taking notes because I like watching a lot of what this guy does. There was another one with a hacker. We brought a hacker in, and the hacker was like, this is how we set up and hack people. And he basically hacked him in the studio.
Bobby Bones
Was it a tutorial that we could go back and watch and learn how to do ourselves?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I didn't show you how to hack, but it did show you. He said, I've put up a free Internet, and if you get onto this free Internet, the first thing that you do is it brings up that screen. Like, if you go to the airport and you get on the airport WI fi, it brings up that, hey, do you agree to accept? And you go, yeah. You don't even read it. Just click accept. And he goes, I can build one of these anywhere and label it anything. And as soon as the screen pops up, that looks official, and you type in your name and, you know, your email address and password, whatever, I got it. I have everything I need from you, man.
Mike D
That's one skill I wish I had.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Me too.
Bobby Bones
Same.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, Coding. I don't even have to go to hacking. I would even back up half a step. Like, even, like, general coding of, like, building websites or apps. That would be cool. But then I'd probably want to learn to hack. After I learned to code, I Learned.
Mike D
That on MySpace when you build your own profile, like JavaScript, I'm like, I can build a web page now. I want to hack somebody.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So I was taking notes on Sean Ryan because I said to Morgan, hey, we should get him on the show on this podcast, because I'm a big fan and I know he lives here. And so we have people that we work with that if we're like, hey, we'd like to have this person on, they go and do, hey, would you come on this podcast? This is who it is. This is the reach of the show. And Morgan, like, a day later, was like, we got him.
Bobby Bones
I was so jacked, because I knew you were going to be excited about it.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I was super excited. He has, like, 5 million followers on just YouTube, right? It's a massive show, and I thought he must, like, be a fan if he said yes in, like, 12 hours, because it is a massive podcast, and not only do I watch it and, like, what he does, I thought it'd be really great for our audience because I think I'd probably interview him in a way that he probably doesn't get interviewed a whole lot. So pretty pumped about it. We can't find the perfect day. And Morgan's like, what about this day? I'm like, cool. This time adds a schedule conflict. We moved all this. And so I was telling my wife, I was like, yeah, I'm taking notes on the Sean Ryan stuff. And I get. I get her, like, educated on who Shawn Ryan is. And we're finishing up our episode of Lots to say, our NFL show, and that's Matt Castle, the former quarterback, and myself. And Morgan's filling in because Brandon's not here this week, like, running cameras. And as we're about to walk out, Morgan says, hey, we need to talk. You're not gonna like this. And me, everything's a game to me. So I say, let me guess.
Bobby Bones
And you guessed worse things.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
First thing, which made me feel better. Dylan, our new guy, quit.
Mike D
Okay.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah. I was like, dylan, qu? And she was like, no. And I said, okay, somebody die. She said, no. I said, okay, I'm just gonna get. This is gonna get darker, so why don't you tell me? And she said that they had booked Sean Ryan for the show, but they had booked the wrong Sean Ryan. It was, like, a random musician in town that they found. I don't know how they found him. Instagram?
Bobby Bones
No idea. No idea. And the. What gave it away to us? Mike actually texted me while we were recording. Lots to say.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Is that when you found out, too?
Bobby Bones
That's when I found out, because.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Oh, you had just found out? You weren't waiting for the perfect moment?
Bobby Bones
I had just found out, and my heart sank in the middle of recording that podcast. And Mike just hit me on text. I was like, hey, the spelling of Sean looks wrong. And this email they've looped us in with looks like some sort of music email.
Mike D
And I was like, yeah, because I saw the spelling of it, and I was like, maybe they just spelled it wrong initially, because you just say the name. You don't know it's written, and his name is written Shawn. And in the email, it said it in the wrong way. I'm like, no way. The actual Sean Ryan is misspelling his real email. I was like, this has to be the wrong guy.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Oh, no, man. How bad did it suck when you realized he had to tell me that I wasn't.
Bobby Bones
It's, like, pretty bad. I only ever want to give you good news.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I wasn't angry. I was disappointed, but I don't think that's. But also, it also wasn't your. It wasn't your fault. And I never was like, this is your fault. I was just like, oh, that sucks.
Bobby Bones
But I felt it was my fault because I'm like, I should have caught the misspelling of the name, and I didn't.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So the people that reached out, did we spell it wrong and send it to them wrong?
Bobby Bones
I. Yeah, I. I forwarded your email. You had Sean's name and a couple others. And I forwarded it on and said, these people are based in Nashville. Would love to get these folks on.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So it could be my fault.
Bobby Bones
But I don't want to blame you because I have a set of eyes. I know you're typo kind of guy.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Typo a lot. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And I didn't spell check. And that is my fault, not yours.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah. So.
Bobby Bones
But still, if you get that email, are you not thinking.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I completely understand.
Bobby Bones
It's one of those things, man. It's my fault.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So I was pretty jacked about it. And they go, well, let's just cancel. Well, then I start to feel guilty because here's this guy, Sean Ryan, not the famous one. That's the former Navy SEAL who can probably take a little rejection because his whole life has been probably fighting adversity. But this musician, who I'm not even sure which one. There's like four Sean Ryan's. I don't even know which one it is. Like, you guys can show me a picture of them. Who. How many followers on Instagram does he have?
Mike D
Yeah, it's 24.8 thousand. 24.8 thousand.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. That's great. This guy gets an email or a DM going, hey, do you want to come and talk about Bones? Because we usually play some of this on the Bob Bones show. We do this podcast. This podcast has a really big following. And I was just thinking about him because I'd said to Morgan, yeah, we should probably cancel that. But then I just started feeling guilty. I was like, this dude in my mind got an email going, this Is. This is cool. It's keeping my break. I'm not even sure what he does. Is he a singer songwriter? Is he just a musician? Do we.
Mike D
Do we know, like, a singer songwriter? Yeah.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Okay.
Bobby Bones
I mean, do you want to see his Instagram?
Mike D
Yeah.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Let me see what it looks like. So I went up to the house. Oh, okay. It kind of looks like. It looks like the. The wrestler. The. His dad. Was it, like, a luchador? Oh.
Mike D
Mysterio, son.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah. Yeah. Mysterio Jr. Is. I don't know if it's Ray Mysterio Jr. Or if it's whoever that is.
Mike D
Dom, right? Yeah.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Liv Morgan's supposed boyfriend, Mysterio. Yeah, that's it. He kind of looks like him. So I started to feel bad, and we're gonna have him up.
Mike D
Could you imagine if we never caught it? And he showed up day of recording, and we're like, what is happening?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Right?
Mike D
Because that's what that would have been.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
My mind, I would have been so confused.
Bobby Bones
We would have caught it because he sent over some talking points.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
We have talking points. Yeah. All right.
Mike D
That stuff never got sent. And he just showed up day of. What would you have done different? Sean Ryan walked in.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I would have just rolled. It would have been hilarious, because you guys would have known that I knew, and I know that you guys know, but I wouldn't have wanted him to feel weird. And I think I would have just been very generic and vague with questions, because I feel like I can interview anybody. If you give me, like, five questions, I can find a place that we're gonna be able to talk about something we have in common. It would have been weird. I would, but. Or I'd have thought, man, the Internet makes people look way different because this guy's like, black hair and then he has a bald head. So I said to Morgan, I said, hey, I don't want this guy to feel like we were messing with him. I feel bad that we had asked him to come up and he had scheduled it, so he's going to be on an episode soon. I don't know how good he is. I've not heard anything he's done. But I said, he has to know the backstory, and if he has a sense of humor about it, I want him to come up. Because that would just suck if somebody was like, hey, we want to have you up. And I was like, oh, this is my big break. And I'm like, oh, we. We meant to book Robert Bones. I'll be like, oh, God, sucks.
Mike D
We were trying for Bobby Jones.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, the old golfer. We thought you were like his grandson. So. Yeah. So in one of the episodes coming up, and I don't know how long we're gonna do with them, but we're gonna have Sean Ryan, the one that's not the Navy seal. So that happened yesterday. We're still going to try to get Sean Ryan, the Navy seal. I think it's going to be a little more difficult than this was because we got a yes quickly on this one. It was like, yep, for sure. I was like, dang, that's quick. Like, he must. I thought to myself, he must be a fan of the radio show or like, have heard about it. Little did I know he probably hasn't at all. So, yeah, that's happened there. I do have some Q and A stuff that I want to go through in a second. Let's take a quick pause for a message from our sponsor.
Rob Gronkowski

Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
And we're back on the Bobby cast. I was reading the story about Cash Patel, who is the director of the FBI, and this kind of comes back into Nashville a little bit. And so the story from him is he has been either using or abusing his private FBI airplane to fly to Nashville to see his girlfriend, who is a country singer. And the first time that this story hit it was to come and watch her as she sang at a wrestling event. Are you guys familiar with the story?
Mike D
Yeah.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
And so instead of debating whether it is misuse of the airplane because if you're director of the FBI, you cannot fly commercial anyway. So I don't have an opinion because I don't know enough about what they're allowed to use the plane for and what they're not allowed to use the plane for because he's been going on golf trips. He's been go. But if you can't use public. If you can't fly commercial, what are you supposed to do? Not really the topic here, but it's. Imagine you start to date somebody and their last boyfriend was the director of the FBI.
Bobby Bones
Hard to follow.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Not only hard to follow because he might be. I don't know about Cash Pell because I don't know him. Let's assume Cash Patel's for the sake of this story, a huge goober and a loser. Maybe it's not hard to follow, but. But I would just be worried that if he still wanted to be with her. You talk about hacking and, like, making my life miserable. I wouldn't want to date anybody that had just dated the head of the FBI because of the access that they have to all of my stuff.
Mike D
You just plant things on your laptop.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Absolutely.
Mike D
Shut you down, get you fired from.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Your job, anything find have you audited, just call their buddy at the irs. Like I think. And I don't know her. And they kept calling her country superstar. I not sure how many streams she has on anything. I had never heard of her. But that doesn't mean she's not a superstar. But I don't.
Bobby Bones
I don't know that she is.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I think how hard it would be to. Or how much it would suck to have to follow someone that dated the director of the FBI because if he was still, like, in love with her, you know, he's going to ruin the life of the person that's dating his ex that he still wants to be with.
Mike D
Her highest stream song has about half a million streams.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Not bad. What's her name?
Mike D
Alexis Wilkins.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Real streams? Bot streams. How about the rest of her songs?
Mike D
That's the most. Next one is like 368.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Okay.
Bobby Bones
What's her monthly listening?
Mike D
That's her monthly listeners is 14,000.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I. That checks out, right? Sort of, yeah.
Bobby Bones
I mean, I. I'm not going to say anything bad, but it's always coming after us.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
How do you even buy bots? Because one of the things that artists do now that I read about is they buy bots to lift their streams, and labels buy bots. And then it comes out a lot of times with pop stars. But I'm sure it's happening in the country music space, too. Does anybody know where you can buy bots?
Mike D
I don't know specifically, but you essentially have to find, like, a click farm.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, but where do we find. Where do I find that?
Bobby Bones
Are you trying to find one?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I would be super interested to do that. Like, a long time ago. I mean, it's been 15 years at this point. When Twitter first started, I would buy my friends a bunch of followers on Twitter because. And this is when nobody had any followers, because I'd pay 50 bucks and all these people would start following them, but I wouldn't tell them. And they'd wake up and they would just have like 5,000 followers. They'd be like, what just happened? Why am I being followed? And I thought it was the funniest thing. Like, overnight, they thought they had gone viral.
Bobby Bones
Wait, did you do that for either of us?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
No. This is way before. This is living in Texas for. Yeah, so. And now they clean bots so much off. Also, Twitter sucks now, but how do you buy bots?
Bobby Bones
I've never had to do it, so I'm not really sure I have heard, which. I'm scared to say this out loud, but I did overhear a label person.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Once talking about it, about lifting streams.
Bobby Bones
Mm.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Happening at every label.
Bobby Bones
It does happen, especially with those newer artists they're trying to launch. I'm not a pro in the field, but.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
But you don't know how to buy bots.
Bobby Bones
No. I can look into it for you. I'll tell you by closing business.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So interesting. I'm sure it costs way too much to actually do it as like, you made a song farting the national anthem and then you bought it up to go number one. Like, that would be a funny joke, but I'm sure that would cost A hundred thousand dollars more than that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it'd be very expensive.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
And for it to go number one. I have a bunch of questions here. I said we were doing a Q and A. And so I think a lot of these that I picked are questions that I think it's fun for everybody to answer. Let's go with, what's the one thing you wish you were better at in your personal life right now, Mike?
Mike D
Talking to people. Like, I am terrible at making just conversation with somebody.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, you're not terrible.
Mike D
Oh, I am. Like with you guys, I'm comfortable with. But even then, sometimes I'm like, I don't really know what to say right now. I am so comfortable in silence like that. That's what I thrive in. Like going into a room just like, I don't want to say anything.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I was at foot therapy today. And so I go before and I still wearing a boot for my surgery. I suck at small talk. Like, I just haven't trained myself enough for it to just be passable without it being awkward. And so I have a main therapist that comes and starts doing stuff with me. And then after that, it's like when you get your haircut, somebody new, new comes along and start washing your hair. But it's like that but in therapy. And so this other therapist comes along, she's like, how'd you Thanksgiving? And I think the proper thing to say now that I'm removed from it is, it was great, thanks for asking. How's yours? And I said, I'm dairy free. It sucks. Couldn't eat anything.
Mike D
You just complain.
Bobby Bones
Well, I've heard you mention being dairy free so many times, but that was.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
What came to my mind when she said, how was Thanksgiving? And so I said that. And she's like, oh. And then I didn't ask her anything back.
Bobby Bones
Oh, no.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So it's just like we're sitting there and it's awkward and I realize I'm not good at small talk. And this was only a moment for small talk. This wasn't actually a time get to know somebody because she's going to be in my life for about seven minutes max. And she's like, oh, yeah, yeah. And so she's struggling now. She's like, did you have a favorite dish? And I said, well, we had turkey and then I had some, some dressing. And then there was some pumpkin pie, but it was dairy free pumpkin pie, so that sucked.
Mike D
Like, oh boy.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
And there was no, there was no question back. And again, that really wasn't meant for us to I just should have said it was great. Thanks for asking. How's yours? And on a different level, Arkansas has hired a new football coach. And by the time this comes out, he may have been on one of the sports shows. I'm not sure, but I don't know him at all. And so I do have a friend that knows him pretty well. I have two friends on pretty well, but one of them puts me on a group text with my friend, the new Arkansas football coach, and me. And so he texts it all and he says, ryan, because that's the coach's name. He says, ryan, it's my friend Bobby. Like, biggest razorbike fan I know booster. You should probably know him because he's a great guy and da, da, da. And the coach, Ryan Silafield replies back, hey, that's awesome. Like, just started the job, got a lot going on, overwhelmed, but love to meet you. You know something, I never replied to.
Bobby Bones
That.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
For, like, two days. I, I, he didn't ask me a question. And then my friend hit me up and goes, you never replied to that. Like, I, I put you on the text thread. You never. I said, well, there wasn't a question asked. And also, what am I supposed to say? Hey, thanks, good luck.
Bobby Bones
You got to give it the thumbs up or something.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
That's what he said.
Bobby Bones
He said, at least just acknowledge it.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
He literally said that exact thing. And Mike, so I feel you. Whenever you said that. He said, Maybe just a thumbs up.
Mike D
That thumbs up has changed my life.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I didn't, I didn't, I didn't thumbs it up, though.
Mike D
My problem is I just absorb information. And if, like you said, if there's not a question, like, that's it, that's the end for me. I'm like, I heard what you said. I take it in. I have nothing to say.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
My wife gets really annoyed with me because she will say something and not ask a question, but expect an answer to a statement. Statements aren't meant for me to answer. If I have something to add to it, I do. But she's like, you don't have a reply to that. I'm like, you didn't ask a question.
Mike D
I'm just like, thumbs up.
Bobby Bones
Like, yeah, you're not a robot.
Mike D
I heard what you.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I heard what you said.
Bobby Bones
You interview for a living. You can keep a conversation alive.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
But I don't feel like I was supposed to keep a conversation alive. It's not my job to be the life preserver of every, like, real life conversation. I'm bad at small talk. Too. So I understand. But I had two instances in the last two days.
Mike D
Yeah.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Where I realized that it is not my strength. Now if you put me on a text thread and you're like, hey, this is Sean Ryan and you need to convince him to come on the show. I'm be freaking hilarious. I'll be on. I'm a reply. I'm going to do, like, just the right amount of gifts, you know, maybe a couple emojis in the right places. Like, I'm going to be extremely charismatic in the text. But if it's like real life, I do not have sharpened small talk skills where somebody like Eddie is. That's what he lives for. He doesn't want to go deep with anybody. He'd rather just have small talk. Just weather. Weather and traffic. That's all he cares to talk about. Like, he's good. Morgan, what do you wish you were better at?
Bobby Bones
I wish I was better at caring to date. Is that too deep?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
What? I wish I was better caring to date.
Bobby Bones
Caring today. Like, I've been a real homebody lately, which I feel like is relatable to some of what Mike was saying of just, you know, I'm good, but I'm like, dang, I probably should get out there and date, but I don't feel like it. Can y' all imagine right now in your lives if you had to go on a dating app?
Mike D
I die alone at this point. I got very lucky. I found my wife. Like, I can't imagine going back to that. I was terrible at dating. Like I said, I can't talk to people. I went on so many first dates, never a second date till I met my wife.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I was an assassin on a dating app, though. Or just tech. Once I get. Well, once you get to a point.
Bobby Bones
Tell us more about that.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
The human part is what I would kind of suck at. Unless it was a performance. But it doesn't matter if it's dating app or talking with somebody that's non romantic, like on a phone or on a computer, like in a text. Like, again, I'm knocking them down. I'm freaking hilarious. Because it's all strategy and execution. But yeah, do you worry? How old are you?
Bobby Bones
33.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Do you care about that?
Bobby Bones
I feel like I'm starting to because the people around me, I'm noticing, are bringing it up more. So I'm thinking more about it.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I just saw that Sienna Miller had her third kid or she got pregnant at 43 again.
Bobby Bones
Wow.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Not only that, there have been a couple, like 40 years, like celebrities yeah, I'm at that point where I see Kelly.
Mike D
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
They were. I think they were told they couldn't have another kid, and then it just happened. She got pregnant.
Bobby Bones
I'm thinking about freezing some eggs, but that sounds like a lot of work. And I know some people have done it and they get really, emotionally haywire, and I really don't want to do that.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
You know why they get emotionally haywire?
Bobby Bones
Because all those hormones are popping.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
All the hormones. Yeah, exactly.
Bobby Bones
I'm not really interested in that. So I'm kind of at a point where I'm like, if it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, I have two nephews that are biologically half me, so.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
But you've had dudes you dated.
Bobby Bones
I had a college ex boyfriend circle the block and asked me on a date recently.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Define circle the block.
Bobby Bones
DM me on Instagram responded to a picture and said we should go on a date.
Mike D
Not that he drove by your house.
Bobby Bones
He circled the metaphorical digital blog.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Does he live in your hometown?
Bobby Bones
He lives. No, he. We met in West Tennessee at college, but he lives in Nashville, like half a block from where my office is.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Do you have any interest or you're not. Are you not interested because you're just not interested in dating, or are you not interested because you're not interested in him?
Bobby Bones
I. I told him I was like, I'd be down to, like, get together and catch up on, you know, how. How you're doing, but I don't want it to be romantic. I don't think I'm interested.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
That I don't want to do.
Bobby Bones
I didn't say I don't want it to be romantic, but I was like, I'm basically a nun at this point. I made some sort of joke about it, like, I'm basically a nun at this point, but we can get together and, you know, catch up on the old days.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
If I'm him, I still take that opportunity because I was really trying to.
Bobby Bones
Walk that line of being like, this wouldn't be a date, but not being.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Bratty about it, it's still a small door open, though. If I'm him, I'm going, great. I'm down. Because then it's just a crack. All you need is a crack.
Bobby Bones
All you need is a crack. Put it on a bumper sticker.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I think it's fine.
Bobby Bones
So that may happen. We'll see.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
When you try to date.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I really don't. That's the problem. I haven't tried. Today you had a dude you were Dating? Yeah. I dated a guy for six months.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
In Texas, which, when they live far, it's probably easier and harder. Easier because you don't have the obligation to be together a whole lot.
Bobby Bones
What's bad is I liked the distance. I like that I could, like, plug into my life and then go out there and. Yeah, it's a me problem. I'm working on it.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
What you need is another Covid to come along.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I need the whole world to shut down again.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I mean, whenever Caitlin and I were dating, because she was living in California, and it was back and forth every other weekend, she would come here and covet, hit, and she was like, hey, I'm just gonna. Or I was like, hey, come here. Just for a couple weeks. This thing will be over and lickety split. And two weeks turned into two months or so because California, they shut down before we did.
Bobby Bones
Right.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Like, California was ghost town.
Bobby Bones
And so she kind of caught the last flight out.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, she left and they came here. And then it turned into a couple, few months. And then from that, because I'd never lived with anybody. I mean, I had, like, Mike lived with me for a little bit, but I. But I didn't. I never had, like, any sort of real roommate situation. Never romantically ever. Like, not even close there. But that put us in that situation where it kind of accelerated the relationship. Because we'd have just been going back and forth for a long time. We would have just kept doing that.
Bobby Bones
I don't think so. I think you say that.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
No, I'm saying it wouldn't have happened like it did because it happened to where we had been dating for month, three or four months or so. And she came and stayed for a couple of weeks, but then she never left. She probably would have moved here in a year. In a year and a half. Whatever it was. I don't think it would have happened. Like it was then where it was like, hey, come for two weeks and she ends up staying. But then it got to the point where it was. Her lease was up on her apartment. And then I was like, well, we got to make a decision. And she was like, I can go back or not? And I was like, no, don't go back. And I think it was. The timeline was just accelerated because of COVID So what you need to do is have a guy you're dating, have Covid hit. Okay, part two, accelerate it. And then there you go.
Bobby Bones
We gotta find some bats or something.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
It would have also been. I would have also known quicker that it wasn't her as much as I did that it was her, because we're just forced together.
Bobby Bones
I've never lived with a guy before.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Oh, I never lived with a girl.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, until you say it would have taken a year. You were so locked in on her.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I agree.
Bobby Bones
I think everyone around you was like, oh, this is. This is it.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I agree with everything you're saying. I'm just saying the moving part, because she had a really great job.
Mike D
She was.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
She had gone back to school to get her masters. She was finishing up. Her. There was. There were just all these things that would have kept us from doing that that were a part of normal life that we're blocking at its time. But because of COVID her job got very easy to do from a remote location because it had to be done. And secondly, she went. Because she went back to grad school to get her master's while she had this job. And they. They shut down school, but they just did it remotely like everybody else. So that allowed it to be easier for her to stay here. The Bobby cast will be right back. Hey, it's Bobby Bones. Planning a trip always sounds fun until you actually sit down to do it. Because suddenly everybody's got demands. You've got one friend who wants to be right in the middle of the action, then another who only cares if place has a gym because vacations are basically just leg day. That's exactly why you should use booking.com because no matter how picky or particular the group gets, booking.com has a stay that works for everybody. Hotels, vacation rentals, big places, small places. Close to the beach, close to the mountains, close to nothing at all. All across the U.S. booking.com really does make it easy to plan a trip. Booking.com booking. Yeah. That's booking.com booking. Yeah. And, Doug, what a horrible call. Hey, ref. Open your eyes, ref. You're really not gonna call that? Come on. Hey, ref, why don't you customize your car insurance with Liberty Mutual and save money? I don't think you get what we're doing. Sure I do. We're all just giving him advice. You guys on sports, me on saving money. Nope, that's not it. Only pay for what you need@libertymutual.com. liberty. Liberty. Liberty.
Bobby Bones
Liberty.

Hear that? That's what it sounds like when you plant more trees than you harvest. Work done by thousands of working forest professionals like Adam, a district forest manager who works to protect our forests from fires.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Keeping the forest fire resistant, synonymous with keeping the forest healthy. And we do that through planting more than we harvest and mitigate those risks through active management. It's a long term commitment.

Mike D
Do you remember the moment where reality kind of set in? Because the same thing kind of happened with my wife and I. We were long distance. Covid shut everything down and she moved here. And for the first month it was like awesome. Like you're finally living here, everything's great. And there was like a moment where I remember we had like an argument over the dishwasher. Where it went from like, oh, we're not playing house anymore. This is like real life. Did you have that moment?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah because she was like, you. You play video games a lot. Like, oh my God, work all day. Because that was my reintroduction to PlayStation because I hadn't played in 10 years. And so I ordered a PS5. And it's when our little football league with all my friends, we started playing together. And I would work all day and then I would play PlayStation for like three hours or so. And she was like, you gotta get out the video game a little bit. And I was like, you gotta like.
Bobby Bones
Treat me like I exist.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I just did. I never had that consideration of I need to think about somebody else all the time. So for me, I think that's when the reality of it set in where I have to actually be aware that there's somebody else in the house that I need to be thoughtful about.
Bobby Bones
Quality time is major. It's her gals.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
It's her.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, for sure.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Mine's gifts. Hers is.
Bobby Bones
Yours is gifts. I've never met one person who's love language. Top level languages. Gifts.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Giving and receiving gifts.
Bobby Bones
You give great gifts.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah. Much easier now than ever.
Bobby Bones
It's hard to get gifts for you, though.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
We'll get again. Because I have money. I think it was easier when I was poor.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
You could get me one of those little basketball hoops you put on top of the door and I'd be good for like five hours. But, you know, I. Because.
Mike D
And.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
And it's not always just a money thing, but it's single. And when I had an okay amount of money, I would just buy whatever I wanted. If I wanted something, I would just get it. Because I didn't have kids, didn't have a girlfriend, didn't have a wife, didn't.
Mike D
Have anything like that.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So if something interests me, I just got it.
Bobby Bones
And do you also feel bad now having money? Like, like expecting. When people are like, what do you want for Christmas? Are you kind of like, don't worry about me, or are you still like.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I think I hold some people to unfair standards.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
To still, like, make me feel warm and more. Those people. Caitlyn. Yeah. And she's told me before, she's like, I can't. I can't live up to it. Like, whatever standards you have, it's really hard for me to meet them. And I'm like, I'm not telling you what to get me. And she's like, but give me an idea. And I'm like, no, because you have to drop him. No, that's. That's a thing we got into. And not in a bad way. But we talked about it for like three months because she would go, I know that your love language is gifts, and that means a lot to you. And I think it's rooted in I didn't get a bunch of gifts growing up. Like, we didn't really have good Christmases. Wan, wan, wan. I don't think any of us three did. And so we're like the triangle of poor here.
Bobby Bones
We're literally done well for ourselves.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
It's the relatable three. That's our superhero group. And so I didn't get a lot of gifts growing up, and when I did, it blew my mind. And I was so grateful because it wasn't that nobody wanted to give me anything, but like, in our small circle, people were in and out. And also we didn't have any money, so there weren't a lot of gifts to go around. And so when people get me something now I'm like, oh, this is awesome. Like, something that means something. And I would just put this high expectation on my wife, who's supposed to know me better than anybody to get me something that blows me away.
Bobby Bones
But you're very hard to blow away. You stay very even keeled on all.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Things, but you're not my wife.
Mike D
I expect her.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Thank God.
Bobby Bones
It sounds like it would be very.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Hard, and it was unfair. And I understand her point because she would go, hey, there's a few things I would like. I'll send you some links. She would send me links to things that she would like for Christmas and where she would. She would send me, like a link to like 11 different things. She's like, here's some gift ideas. You want to get a couple of these? That'd be awesome. I'd go buy all 11 of them.
Bobby Bones
Damn.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I was just like, okay, well, if she want, I'm gonna get it.
Mike D
All clear the list.
Rob Gronkowski
Yes.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
It was teachers. Yeah. So I would get her all the gifts. Where I got myself in trouble doing that though, is I would get her all the gifts, but her birthday is like two weeks after Christmas.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So then I'd get her all 11 gifts. I'm like, well, now what the crap do I do for her birthday?
Bobby Bones
Mike's wife is the same exact way.
Mike D
I just like kind of get a bunch of things and then split them up evenly.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Smart person. It took me a couple Christmases.
Mike D
The good thing I found, like right now, since it is around the holidays, like, there's so many holiday deals, I'm like, I get kind of a better deal.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Well, Valentine's Day is right after that. And not even the Valentine's Day is like super important once you've been together or married for a long time. But there's still some importance to acknowledging that. And so. And I. That's my love language. I like to get and give gifts. So it's really murder drove for me. Birthday, Christmas, Valentine's Day. All right there. Bam, bam, bam.
Bobby Bones
Is it like an experience is the thing you look for something tangible and tangible, physical.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like a little treat, but a big treat. And so what she would say is, point me a direction and I would go, I shouldn't have to.
Bobby Bones
You should know me enough by now.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
That's exactly what it was. It was totally unfair. And I realize now that. But I don't like that, that I put her in that position.
Bobby Bones
It's a little self sabotage.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Y. Oh yeah, very much so.
Bobby Bones
Because she can't read your mind and she does know you. But I've known you for over 10 years. And when your birthday comes up, I go, Oop, what can I get Bobby?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So I put her in a place not to succeed. And we had the conversation a few times over a few birthdays because I would just be have my guts ripped out if I didn't get exactly what a couple times she did. She nailed it. She got me an Andy Kaufman note. He wrote to himself, Andy Kaufman is like a comedian, a performance artist from the 80s, late 70s 80s that died. And I think he's, you know, super funny, but transcendent in that world.
Mike D
Or did he die?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Or did he die is right. Not did he. But not the rapper in prison.
Mike D
Yes, he did.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
But yeah, yeah. So she got. So she's done really great, but I've had to at least point her in a direction because it was unfair not to.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, give her a bone.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Pun. Okay. So did you. You answered yours. Not dating, I think. What was the question again? We've gone around the room.
Mike D
What do you wish you're better at?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
That's it. I think now I'll do a short term. I've been in this boot for now a month and a half taking showers.
Bobby Bones
Bad hygiene over there, huh? How often are you?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Many a day. My wife's like, your armpits smell like crap. And I'm like, I can't get my foot wet. She's like, you can, but you gotta put the bag on it. I get to take this thing off hopefully in like three weeks. I've not been good at. I don't smell. I don't. I don't when I smell myself, I smell fine.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. But I think an outsider should be giving you that insight.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, they do.
Bobby Bones
How often are you showering right now?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Now. Every day. But for a while, I. I was not getting out of bed. Why do I have to shower if I don't get out of bed? Because I was just laying there all day. And I understand the answer to that as well.
Mike D
And then in the cold, it's like, why do I need a shower?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I'm not sweating as much, working out. I haven't worked out in freaking five weeks.
Bobby Bones
But your hair gets greasy and your pits gets.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
No, no, I understand the actual answer to it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Okay. I just want to.
Mike D
What's the step after the boot?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Just the step after the boot is a bracelet, a laced up brace that I have to wear for like two or three weeks. And then I get to start walking on a treadmill. And then I. I'll do, you know, cuts and pivots and jogs. But I've really been focused on my therapy, like, going and. But doing it every day, three times a day. And so I think I'm actually ahead of schedule. I hope I'm ahead of schedule. What's a purchase you regret, Mike?
Mike D
I get stuff. There was this thing on Tick Tock that I thought was the coolest thing ever, that it would reseal bags for you. And that's the only thing I've been tricked on, Tick Tock, where you would, like, open a bag of chips and you want to restill it, seal it so it stays fresh. I bought it.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Never worked. Really? Yeah. Tick Tock Shop kind of is awesome and sucks.
Mike D
I just.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
A lot of cool stuff, but it's never good. Like, it's never quality.
Mike D
I assume it's never gonna work because they make it look awesome. Like, oh, that's gonna change my life. And then I just don't think can live up to expectations.
Bobby Bones
I've gotten some pretty great stuff off of Tik Tok Shop.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Like what?
Bobby Bones
Hair extensions, curling wands.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Mike and I are trying to buy, like, technology stuff, though.
Mike D
I do want a flamethrower.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Oh, those are awesome. The ones they sell on Tik Tok?
Mike D
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Caitlyn, are you hearing this?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, Morgan, what was the question?
Bobby Bones
Something I bought that I regret. I'm. The new apartment I'm renting.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
You regret it? Why so far away?
Bobby Bones
It's so far away. And I thought it would be fine, but it's really a headache. It's nice to live closer to family, but, man, that drive in and home sucks.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
After we finish today, it'd be five o'. Clock.
Bobby Bones
I know. And I'm getting dinner with my dad, so he's probably gonna be texting me, being like, where are you at? I'll be there at eight.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Down there. He lives down there too.
Bobby Bones
We're five minutes door to door. That's a good part about it.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I bought one of those Apple.
Mike D
Oh, the Vision.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I spent thousands of dollars on the thing.
Mike D
And you.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I use it like seven times.
Mike D
I thought that was the future, man.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I think it's still the future. I think this version is virtual reality. The future though it's too cumbersome. I don't know that. I think a version. What is virtual reality that's also within augmented reality. I think augmented reality is the future. Meaning we're sitting here now. I can still see all you guys. Everybody's normal. But there are elements that can be added. Like in my glasses, like if in my glasses I wanted to see the time or there was a game on that I can see and like in this room, but you guys don't see it. I think, I think augmented reality is the future because I think the new.
Mike D
Meta ones where it's like you can see somebody, you're talking to them, but then all these messages are popping up and I just can't see that working and catching on. Like it's too fancy.
Bobby Bones
I'm so old school. We need to like tech it down a little bit and get back to like good old fashioned face to face.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
That's the next question. Do you think social media is making people happier or more anxious?
Mike D
Oh, definitely more anxious.
Bobby Bones
Terribly anxious.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, I can agree with that. But I think both. It makes me happier and it makes me more anxious.
Bobby Bones
How does it, how does it make you happier?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I have friends that I only really know on social media.
Bobby Bones
And that brings you joy?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah, like I have friends and I've met some of them, but whenever we went to Chicago, we went to barstool. I didn't know Brandon Walker. We DM and text and football game. Like I feel like I know that dude. I met him one time. But we hugged you on the way out. Yeah, that was a disaster. Thought that was real. But like I have those type of friends that have turned into a bit of human relationship. Okay, solid, that's good. But I am, I'm four days sober.
Bobby Bones
From social media?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
No, from looking at any, at replies or comments of anything. It makes me so much happier. I don't go like on Twitter, I don't go to My app that replies at all. You just post and I post and let it live.
Mike D
Leave the bomb.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
And I post on Instagram. I don't look into the comments. I go to YouTube. I'll check out some analytics. I never, I don't even look at a comment. A single YouTube is the worst Facebook.
Bobby Bones
Facebook is brutal.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I haven't been on Facebook in a while. Like the Bobby Bone Show Facebook page. And I might be wrong because I guess I haven't really been. Oh, like this YouTube for @ Bobby Bones channel doesn't have enough that people. It's so toxic. But are you talking about like general.
Mike D
YouTube? I feel like general YouTube users are the most brutal because they'll go after your physical attributes the most out of any other social media platform. Like the only time I really felt bad about myself was reading YouTube.
Bobby Bones
Comments. Oh, I'll go beat him up for you, Mike. That's not.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Nice. I haven't looked at a single comment or at reply and who knows who's trying to get in touch with me. And I feel like if you message me on Twitter, if you're not in the dms, I'm not going to see it. But it's felt great because I don't go over because I, I get triggered pretty easily and then I'll just fight with.
Bobby Bones
People. You, I'll get anytime I get on Twitter, which is rare or X.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Whatever we're calling it, I don't call.
Bobby Bones
It. I see your reply to someone.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
I'm like, oh God, look at this.
Mike D
Bobby account going after this guy. Oh, that's actually.
Bobby Bones
Him. Don't.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Engage. I'll get triggered by something. And I, especially on Twitter, like I, I don't care. I don't fight people on Instagram, I don't fight people on TikTok. Like I don't care. But Twitter, that's ripe. That's right for one on one. But I'm four days sober where I haven't looked at a single comment to anything. And it makes me so much happier because it's always net.
Bobby Bones
Loss. Do you have a number of days you're trying to get.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
To? No, but I was thinking like only on Tuesdays will I ever look at anything something like.
Bobby Bones
That. That's your little treat. On Tuesdays there's a.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Little. Well, it's that I don't want to just stay completely disconnected. But if I just give myself like a Tuesday, that'd be fighting day. So that would be probably what it's going to be. But yeah, no, it's, it's tough because I get in the habit too. On Twitter. I'm on Twitter the most. I also hate it the most. So it's a lot of hate scrolling. I like it because it gives me the things that I want in the for you page because it's, it's sports, it's politics, it's music stuff. And then all of a sudden it'll, it'll put something in that it knows is going to fire me up and I'll reply to it and they'll come back at me and here we go. Because that's how they're making their money. Engagement and how do you get the most engage is enragement. Enragement's engagement. So they want you being upset and fighting with people more than anything else. That's what they.
Bobby Bones
Want. We're doing.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
It. Let's take a quick pause for a message from our sponsor. Hey, it's Bobby Bones here. You ever tried to plan a trip for a large group? Everybody has their own idea of what the vacation should look like. One friend needs a backyard for their new puppy they bring everywhere. Another friend needs blackout curtains because waking up before 10am yeah, that's not going to happen. Another friend insists on having a king sized bed even though they're happily single. Booking.com totally gets it. And let's be honest, you're probably a bit picky too. Maybe you want a spot with a good view because what's the point if you can't look out the window and feel like you're somewhere new? Booking.com makes juggling those seemingly impossible requests totally possible. They've got hotels, vacation rentals, and every kind of stay you can imagine all across the US Whether you're looking for space or style or just something that works for everybody, Booking.com helps you get it right. Find exactly what you're booking for. Booking.com booking. Yeah, that's booking.com.
Rob Gronkowski
Booking.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah. And Doug, there's nowhere I wouldn't go to help someone customize and save on car insurance with Liberty Mutual. Even if it means playing in a football game. Boom. 42. You're going down, Doug. Oh yeah. Your price on car insurance when you customize and save is going down. Hey, Limu, what are you doing on their team? Only pay for what you need@libertymutual.com Liberty.
Bobby Bones
Liberty. Liberty.
Sophie Cunningham
Liberty. Hear that? That's what it sounds like when you plant more trees than you harvest. Work done by thousands of working forest professionals like Adam, a district forest manager who works to protect our forests.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
From fires, keeping the forest fire resistant, synonymous with keeping the forest healthy. And we do that through planting more than we harvest and mitigate those risks through active management. It's a long term.
Sophie Cunningham
Commitment. Visit workingforestsinitiative.com to learn.

Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Max. And we're back on the Bobbycast. Next up, what's the best concert you've ever.
Mike D
Seen? Mike I'd say the best concert ever seen was a couple years ago I got to see Blink182 for the first time and I've been a fan since I was probably in like third or fourth grade. And they've changed a lot over the years, have switched out original members and this was them coming back with the original lineup. And it was the only time I ever got emotional at a concert. Like they played one of my favorite songs, Adam song and like I just felt like this overwhelming amount of joy and I just kind of started crying a little bit because I was like, wow, like never in my life that I ever think I would see them live because as a kid couldn't afford it. Like, going to a concert just never entered my brain. Like I would see bands touring. I'm like, there's no way I would ever go see my favorite band in concert. And here I was finally like in my 30s getting to see my favorite band of all time. And it was an amazing.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Show. So that was more about the experience than it was them being sonically.
Mike D
Amazing. They're not historically a great live band. Like if you like Blink182, you like the humor of it, you like the recordings of it. But them live, it's not like you're going to watch some really great musicians, but it's a fun environment, they're funny on stage and it's just overall just a fun.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Show. Best concert you've been to.
Bobby Bones
Morgan. I have two that are coming to mind. The. The first one is kind of in line with you. Mike is like one of my first big shows. I went to Memphis in May is big in west.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Memphis. We used to drive over from.
Bobby Bones
Arkansas. Florence in the Machine, I saw her set and I was like, oh my gosh, this is. I mean her vocal and she's like a little fairy up on stage. Hard to top. And then Tyler Childers at the Ramen would be my. My.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Backup. I think mine's probably. And man, festivals are kind of cop outs, but John Mayer at ACL in Austin, I was still living there and I don't like festival. I don't like all the people. But I think that's probably the best concert I've ever been to. I'm a massive John Mayer fan. So that's probably why I think we've all picked you up. Tyler Childers, Florence and the Machine probably weren't a huge fan of but.
Bobby Bones
Then were blown away, became a.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Fan. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna go John Mayer at acl. Way back in the day, something I've been thinking about something that triggers me if we ask someone to be a guest and they say no, I get so irritated and in my mind I blackball them.
Bobby Bones
Forever. You can't do that. Ever a guest on any of your.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Shows? Yeah, pretty much. But like we've asked people to come on the podcast and I have a whole list of no's and in my.
Bobby Bones
Mind. Do you keep that.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
List? Well, I have it on my computer in my mind. I think eventually they're going to ask me for something and you're going to go back to the and I'm Going to not give it to.
Mike D
Them. Is it any. No. Or is it like a not right now or maybe later or anything? Just them saying not.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
No. If someone says they politely decline.
Mike D
That'S just them saying, oh.
Bobby Bones
Man. A politely.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Decline. But I see the list because Morgan sends me the.
Bobby Bones
List. Well, now I'm not going to. I want to be upfront with.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
You. I have no yo, yo. Keep sending me the list. Like, I have in my mind like three or four people that I'm like, screw them. Eventually they're going to ask me for something and I'm not going to give it to them. And who knows, they may have something going on in their life. They don't. But then I see them doing other.
Mike D
Press. I can see.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
That. And I take personal offense and I understand it's extremely petty, but there's like three or four specifically where I'm. I'm so confused. But yeah, I. I basically blackball them in my mind. I'm.
Bobby Bones
12. Yeah, I. I don't advise. I get the mentality because sometimes I see those emails come in and I'm like, what do you think? They think they're too good or.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Something? Yeah, that's exactly it. Like, who do they think they.
Mike D
Are? Especially when it's one you probably don't even really like. You're not like the most excited.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
About. There's one specifically that I was like, oh, this would be interesting. And here's why. Not a massive celebrity, but somebody famous enough and not even have to do it in person. You could do it virtual and it was like, politely.
Bobby Bones
Declined. I'm like, gosh, I'm so curious which one you're talking about. Some people, though, I'm playing devil's advocate here, don't like doing shows. They.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Don'T. But I've seen this person doing shows. Like, I start scrolling through Tick.
Bobby Bones
Tock. But maybe that's the one show that their team forced them to.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Do. It's like seven.
Bobby Bones
Shows. Oh, I'm trying to help here. I know you can't take it.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Personal. I do. I take everything personal. It's the opposite of the four agreements. Take nothing.
Bobby Bones
Personal. In business, how many things do we pass on.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Politely? Some. But for example, I'll give you one specifically. But there's a reason. And I. And we do pass on things, but not substantial things. And if we do, it's based on. I didn't do Nick Viles podcast because I feel like I have anything to.
Bobby Bones
Offer. Like, they talk a lot about pop culture and like.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Television. And I was like, man, I'm gonna go on. I'm not gonna have anything to offer that show. And that was literally the reason. It wasn't because he has a massive show. They have a great following. But I was like, I don't. I don't think I'm gonna do a good job on that podcast because they want to talk about shows. I don't watch.
Bobby Bones
Shows. Yeah. So they probably appreciate.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
That. I don't know what got back to them, but. So there are things like that. But I didn't say politely.
Bobby Bones
Declined. Well, you didn't send the email. But I would not. That's a thing. I hate getting those emails. So I try and find ways to word my passing emails to let them know that we did take it into consideration. They're even.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
That. Take it into consideration. Feels.
Bobby Bones
Like. Well, I don't say that, but I. I try and make it a human.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Response. I'm doing a podcast soon as a guest. And also, I don't. I don't do a lot of be a guest on podcasts, like, interviews. I have, like, seven.
Bobby Bones
Podcasts. I was gonna say you host four or five of them.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
So. But I'm doing one, and I was. I'm not gonna say what it is, but I wasn't super familiar with it. It. And. But I just did a couple clicks, and I was like, okay, this looks interesting. So, yeah, sign me up. I just can't believe this one.
Bobby Bones
Person. You won't let it.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Go. There's like, four, but one specifically really fires me up. I wanted to do a segment where I would come on and say, who turned us down? But then also, well, hold.
Mike D
On. I kind of love.
Bobby Bones
That. Well, just watch the world burn.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Bobby. It's not. It's not just that, but I want to do a segment. I want to look at the camera here so we can clip this. I want to do a segment where people that turn down being a guest on the show, I reveal who said no, and then I tell you their story, like, something really good about them. So then I don't hate them. Like, my goal is to find out, like, what makes them awesome. Like, I share really great things about people that say no to being on our show because I have a black heart now towards that person, because they said they didn't want to be on our show, even though it's unfair for me to feel that.
Bobby Bones
Way. You know, we should do. We should get their. All of their moms.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
On. And that's creepy. Is it? To find somebody's mall. Yeah. So I don't know. We'll probably won't do that. Some of them don't offend me though, because I don't even ask some people, they just go out. Let me see if I can find one of the emails here. They just. The people that.
Bobby Bones
We. Please don't read any names about.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
It. The people that we used to book our show, they just go out and we'll ask certain people on press tours. Like for example, I wasn't offended. I didn't even know. But unavailable or revisit. Let me find a good one here. Billy Bob Thornton. This won't work with the schedule at the moment. You know what? It's probably true. He seemed like a busy guy or a weird guy. Both, I'm.
Bobby Bones
Sure. A little bit of.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Both. Wasn't offended by that at all. I didn't personally ask that. And he's very, very, very.
Mike D
Famous. So he's not on the.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
List. No, I don't care about.
Bobby Bones
That. We love you, Billy.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Bob. Another one. Morgan Freeman unavailable. You know what, I'm sure he's not available very often. Can't get upset at Morgan Freeman for not coming on the show. I didn't ask him to be on the show, but he was doing press and they were like, hey, we'll reach out to him. Like, great, I'm not going to do a whole bunch more. But Morgan Freeman said, no. There's a weird one. I had a really like, great conversation with Ted Danson. Ted Danson after the show, after he came to Raging Idiots, like Million Dollar Show. And I was with him and his wife and they said, Ted Danson unavailable. And that was probably because he was doing his Netflix show. And that's what I remind them. Remember me? We had that talk. That's all. I do have a not available here from somebody that I'm just like, what do you mean, not available. So, all right, that's it. Does that make you.
Bobby Bones
Uncomfortable?
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Slightly. I thought we were getting a Paul McCartney for a little bit because he came to.
Bobby Bones
Town.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Yeah. And I wasn't even upset at that. But it's like if you come to town, you're doing a show, your days are pretty jam packed. And also you're freaking Paul.
Bobby Bones
McCartney. That's what it came down.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
To. So I'm not mad. Everybody that says no, but they did say, hey, we might have Paul McCartney, he's coming to town, there's a good shot. And I was like, oh, that'd be really great if so. But when that was a no, I was like, I get it. It's Paul.
Bobby Bones
McCartney. I feel like I'm going to start sending you no information until something's fully 100% confirmed. That's the lesson I've learned.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Here. I got a politely pass from Johnny.
Mike D
Knoxville. Oh, you.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Did? Dang down.
Bobby Bones
Sucked. Let's get his mom on that.
Mike D
Hurts. I feel like that'd be a really good.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
One. And mostly because people now think I'm him.
Mike D
Yeah. Imagine you two sitting across from each.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Other. Yeah. So that's. What. Can you guess the one that irritates.
Bobby Bones
Me? I have an idea in mind. You couldn't torture it out of me on this mic.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Though. Give me one letter on their.
Bobby Bones
Name.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
V. No. Okay, V. Now I'm curious. Oh, that one. No, that one just. That was just.
Bobby Bones
Confusing. It is a little.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Confusing. Yeah, that one's just confusing. You won't know this.
Mike D
One.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Okay. But when I get. I don't even want it.
Bobby Bones
Anymore. Now can you give us, like, a bucket, like a musician or actor? Actor, yeah. Actor. Yeah. I'm not gonna get.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
It. V. No. No, V. No V. That's not it. There's no V in the.
Bobby Bones
Name to pull up this. This email.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Chain. I'll do this late night or just 90s 90s television 2000. Let me see when the show was on. I guess I know I'm being petty to it, but now we're in it. Oh, early.
Mike D
90S.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Early. Early to.
Bobby Bones
Mid-90S, Bobby. We were. We were babies then. So.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
See, you for sure know who it is, is. You for sure know who it is. Cuz I told you.
Bobby Bones
First. You told.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Me. I was like, can we get this person? It would make sense to get this.
Bobby Bones
Person. Oh.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
R, huh? No, there's no r. There's no r in their.
Bobby Bones
Name. I'm thinking of people who fit that, but they're not.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Men. That's correct.
Bobby Bones
Oh, D. Yeah. I don't know why I was thinking you were locked in on a.
Mike D
Guy. Oh, I think I got.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
It. Yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I. I do have more information on why that didn't work out, but I'm not going to share it here. We can talk about it after.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Now. I'm already in the heart. One day I'm going to be needed and I'm going to be like, sorry, you weren't there for me. I'm not there for you. Okay, so one of the episodes coming up soon, we're going to have Sean Ryan on maybe later on. Maybe later on this week. Right? That could even be.
Mike D
It. Yeah. No, after.
Bobby Bones
That. No, we literally moved Another interview to make that work.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Too. I.
Bobby Bones
Know. I feel like my job is riding on us getting the real Sean.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Ryan. I don't know.
Bobby Bones
Sean. If you're out there, I don't.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Know the real Sean Ryan's gonn. I. I was so surprised that he said yes so quickly and so easily. Turns out. Okay, so thank you, guys. We got to like, four questions. I actually had, like 20 here, but another day, another time. Thanks for listening. If you don't mind, go subscribe to the YouTube channel. You can watch this. You can watch all the episodes at. Bobby Bones. Channel is where we put these bobbycasts. So, yeah, that's what's up. Any guests on your guest list? Mike, your dream list you'd like to.
Mike D
Have? I mean, Johnny Knoxville is definitely one for me. I was a huge Jackass fan. I think he's been very influential in my.
Bobby Bones (host/main speaker)
Life. Yeah, not available. Yeah, yeah. In person or emotional? Okay, that'll do it. Thank you guys. And we will see you guys later on this week. Bye, everybody. Thanks for listening to a BobbyKast production.
