Best Bits of the Week With Morgan It's Listener Q and A time where Morgan and a.
Ryan Seacrest
Show member answer almost all your questions.
Morgan
What's up, everybody? Time for some listener Q and A action. And Abby is joining me. What's up, Abby?
Abby Lee Anderson
What's up? Woo.
Morgan
We got a shout out. Love you both. Leah in Pennsylvania.
Abby Lee Anderson
Leah.
Morgan
And then love you too. Loved when you talked about your caffeine folders. I had made my own. I love that.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, I didn't.
Morgan
Rude. Maybe that's why you're stressed a little. Abbie, probably.
Abby Lee Anderson
There we go. That's step one. I haven't even done that.
Morgan
That was from Sadie. Alrighty. So let's do you screen voicemails or does somebody else curious about that process? Jen in Indiana.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yep, I do it now. It used to be scuba, but it's all me now. There's a lot. Yeah, there's a lot.
Morgan
There's some crazy voicemails that come in.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, there's the ones that are six minutes. That's a problem. You gotta condense that. That's really hard because he usually less than 30 seconds is ideal, you know, so just get like the main point out there. But yeah, I screen them, listen to them all.
Morgan
So make them a little bit more concise people. To make her job just a little bit easier.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yes. There's a lot of, you know, just wanting to say hi, I guess. I think the good ones are, like, asking for advice. Love that. Or like an update on the show. Those will definitely get on. Like a. A crazy story that happened to you. Like winning the lottery. Like, I won $5 million. Yeah. That's gonna get on. You know, just something that's really different and crazy because I wish I everybody on, but there's so many, you know, there's like hundreds a day, and I'm like, I can only put five or six on the sheet, so, you know, you just got to make it.
Morgan
It's like how we talk about game shows. You gotta stand out from the crowd.
Abby Lee Anderson
It is. It's like trying to get on the prices.
Morgan
Right.
Abby Lee Anderson
But getting on the show.
Morgan
And Abby is the. What do they call them? They, like, stand in front of the doors. What is the bodyguard?
Abby Lee Anderson
No, the. The bouncer.
Morgan
Yeah, either one of those work. It's not what I was thinking of, but yeah, that. That works too. Do you still talk to Chuck and Sammy from. Talk to Chuck. Eric from Pennsylvania?
Abby Lee Anderson
No, I really don't. But I do miss that because that was so fun. That was so fun in my life. It was a fun time because it was. It was kind of like being on a show. Really? I just got to talk to them for, like, an hour. And we had guests on. It's really fun. But sometimes I text Sammy, like, you know, happy Birthday, or if I'm at a show that she might be at, or I'll run into her at a bar. And that's really fun, but kind of. Okay. That's a good question.
Morgan
Yeah. What was your first reaction when you found out that your boyfriend had kids? That's from Alyssa in Illinois.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, that is a really good question. So I knew, based on the dating app, because he had it in there. Like, I think he covered their faces or something. So I knew he had them. And then on the first date, like, he was like, just so you know, I have kids. And what I. Like, this is what wanted love. I'm just kidding. No, but he said he was like, my kids will be my priority 150 of the time. That. Did that make sense? Yes, they will be my priority. Yeah. 100 of the time. Oh, my gosh.
Morgan
They will be my priority 150 of the time is probably similar.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yes.
Morgan
Because he has them half of the time.
Abby Lee Anderson
Right. Like, when they are with him, they're going to be his priority. And I was like, oh, my gosh, I admire that so much that he was honest with me, you know, and that is just very attractive. A dad that cares that much about his kids and that he's going to set those boundaries with someone right away and know that if I'm not okay with it, that I'm not the one, you know? And I just. I really appreciate that because some people would try to hide it, right? Yeah. You know, they wouldn't even say they.
Morgan
Have kids or, oh, I knew so many that would never even post it on the dating apps, or there were some where I made it to, like, a second date, and they're like, oh.
Abby Lee Anderson
By the way, I have a kid.
Morgan
And I'm like, okay, well, I wouldn't have minded if you were just open about that, but you weren't so right.
Abby Lee Anderson
Like, he has made it very clear that, like, he's proud of his kids and he wants me to be in their lives and them to be in mine. And he was just, like, upfront and honest, and I was like, oh, my gosh. Like, I appreciate that, that you, like, love them that much and look at.
Morgan
How it works out.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know. Yeah. So just the way he said it, like, he. He's just excited and he loves them, and it made me excited to meet them and all that. So.
Morgan
No, it was so cute. Speaking of kids. Haley wants to know, does your boyfriend want more kids?
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, he. Yeah, he would have them. He always was like, yeah, he would have them with the right person. Like, he, I guess figured he was done, you know, with his last relationship. But I want them, and he said he would with me, so if I want them.
Morgan
And we talked about this a little bit last time, so you can reference that. We got really into it in part one last time Abby was on, I think.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yes. Yeah, I feel like we do. And sometimes I leave here with, like, this massive hangover. Like a vulnerability hangover of the things you share. Yeah, I don't just. Because I just don't much. I'm just like, I've been super private with a lot of things. I don't. I even am very private on Instagram. Like, it's crazy. I barely post and I look back, I was like, I posted for my birthday, but until then I hadn't posted till, like, May, since May. And I'm like, oh, my gosh. Like, I need to get a little more out there. But it's okay, though.
Morgan
That's not. It's not for everyone. And if every time you have a vulnerability hangover after, like, we talk or share stuff, like, you know, that that makes sense and that's fair.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Morgan
So it is interesting, the job that you're in, though.
Abby Lee Anderson
It is because like I said, I was private before the show and I take so many pictures. I don't know why I don't post them. You know what I think it is, is I take so many, I get overwhelmed. I'm like, oh, which one's going to be the first one?
Morgan
And then you just get a little anxious about it and you say, never.
Abby Lee Anderson
Mind which one should be the COVID photo or the first one that appears on there in all of them.
Morgan
You know, when that happens and I have so many, I always will, like, send them to my friends and be like, choose one which one should be. And whoever. Whichever one gets the most, like, likes from my friends. Like, okay, that's the one.
Abby Lee Anderson
What a good idea. Yeah.
Morgan
So you can always do that with me and I'll favorite which ones.
Abby Lee Anderson
Okay. Because I think that's what it is. And then I'm like, well, it's been a week. It's kind of old now.
Morgan
It's never too late to post either. I have friends who post stuff like, five months later. So, yeah, you can always post.
Abby Lee Anderson
Okay.
Morgan
That's the beauty about social media is it doesn't have to be in real time. If you don't want it to be.
Abby Lee Anderson
That is very true. It's called Instagram. But it doesn't have to be.
Morgan
It doesn't have to be instant. It does not tell us. Oh gosh, no. You didn't go to Vegas this year, did you?
Abby Lee Anderson
Nope. No, I didn't.
Morgan
I didn't either. I was in. I was in Gatlinburg. We talked about that on part one. Will you be joining? Well, actually, sorry, we're going to take a break. My brain fried.
Abby Lee Anderson
We're going to take a break. I'll be right back.

Do you feel like you're feeling calmer when playing Easy Trivia? This is from Jamie in Washington.
Abby Lee Anderson
Absolutely not.
Morgan
I thought that story was an. Absolutely.
Abby Lee Anderson
I try. I just don't know what it is. It comes over me. I get nervous. But this week I kind of freaked out, you know, like, I was like Black Panther. And then after that, when I finally chilled out, I was like, I did better. So, like, you just gotta chill.
Morgan
Yeah, yeah, it's hard. I, trust me, I get testing anxiety. So I get it.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Morgan
My brain goes in 80 million different directions when you ask me a question on the spot and I'll be like, that, that's not right. But that's what my brain's saying. So like, what it is.
Abby Lee Anderson
And you know what I gotta talk about. Remember when Steve came on and he did terrible on the first answer and didn't know it? Prime example. Because he is. Knows a lot like, but it happened to him. So that was like a good example of like getting put on the spot is, whoa.
Morgan
Well, and that's also why, like, I, you know, I jokingly argue with Eddie over the intelligence thing because honestly, trivia is more of a skill to me. Like, you could have the knowledge, but to be able to play trivia in a fast paced environment is kind of a skill set that you learn. It's not as much the knowledge that you have. Like, I have the knowledge. As soon as Bobby says, I'm like, I knew that I just, in that moment couldn't place it because I have anxiety over how quick things are happening. I don't do quickness well. I'm not a. I was never a test taker. I was never a especially. Oh my gosh, I hated comprehensive exams. It was my worst enemy, like SAT those mortal enemy. Because I had to. For every test, I would study so, so hard and I would do really well. And then the moment that that test was taken and I did it, did a good job, I forgot everything. I Only was able to, like, retain it for that specific moment. And you ask me again. But then it's like when we do trivia and you hear one, I'm like, I knew that that was, like, way in the back of my brain, but I couldn't access it. I know. I learned that. It's just. It's weird.
Abby Lee Anderson
It is. It's really weird. I mean, yeah, there's. Sometimes I'm like, I have no idea, and I feel like an idiot because, I don't know, like, the movie.
Morgan
You're not an idiot.
Abby Lee Anderson
When he says movies or TV shows, I'm like, gosh dang it.
Morgan
You've been doing good with that category recently, though.
Abby Lee Anderson
Isn't that crazy? Kind of lucky.
Morgan
Maybe that's because I put you through some movie homework over the course of Best Bits years.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know. I feel like I always get a Marvel question. I'm like, okay, Morgan knows this one. I do.
Morgan
I do have specialties. You have specialties too. Like science.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah. Yeah.
Morgan
These moments.
Abby Lee Anderson
That's true.
Morgan
Will you be joining the Christmas carolers again this year, Tori from Baton Rouge, Louisiana?
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, shoot. That's coming up. Oh, man. And he did ask me if I wanted to. It just always gets so hard because, well, for one thing, I go home, you know, for Christmas, and that's, like, that week right before Christmas is where the majority of the dates are. And so it's like, I practice and all this, and then I have to leave, and I have to leave them. So I feel bad. So I don't know. I gotta. I gotta talk about that John, who's, like, the head of it, he's like, that's okay. We can use you, you know, any date. But I'm like, I just feel bad because when I'm like, a team member, I want to be part of the team and not just, like, bail right before it. So TBD on that.
Morgan
Well, again, this also correlates to what we talked about in part one. If you haven't listened to that. But sometimes you can't make time for, you know, stuff like that when you have other priorities, so. And don't add it on if it's gonna add stress to your life, because you know what?
Abby Lee Anderson
Not worth it. Oh, my gosh. I know. Seriously. Only say yes when it doesn't stress. Oh, my gosh, that was good. Only say yes if it doesn't stress.
Morgan
That's a good catchphrase.
Abby Lee Anderson
That is.
Morgan
I like that, too. Okay, let's see. Did you watch the Summer I Turn Pretty?
Abby Lee Anderson
No, I didn't I've been seeing it everywhere.
Morgan
I knew you wouldn't.
Abby Lee Anderson
Why? What was the question?
Morgan
It was just. Did you watch the Sunrise? Because everybody's talking about it. It's like a big pop culture moment.
Abby Lee Anderson
Dang it. I know. Because I keep seeing the T, T. Wait, T, S, I, T, P. Like just the.
Morgan
The first of every word.
Abby Lee Anderson
And I'm like, let me guess. That's this. The summer I turned pretty. Is it good?
Morgan
It's really good.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Morgan
You should watch it. You won't, but you should.
Abby Lee Anderson
No, I will if it's good.
Morgan
It's three seasons. Ain't no way.
Abby Lee Anderson
No.
Morgan
I can barely get you to watch one movie sometimes.
Abby Lee Anderson
Three seasons. No, I can do seasons better than a movie. Okay. Because I like things that hook me in.
Morgan
Okay, this will hook you. But do you like teen dramas?
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, that's in a beach.
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
Kind of shows. Yeah. Yeah.
Morgan
When it's, like, teens and you're watching, like, drama play out.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, I could do it.
Morgan
Did you ever watch Friday Night Lights or One Hill?
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, my gosh. Yeah.
Morgan
Those are considered teen dramas.
Abby Lee Anderson
Okay.
Morgan
So modern. But yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
Okay, I'll try it.
Morgan
What's your next career step goals with Bobby Bone Show? Question mark, Carol. Virginia.
Abby Lee Anderson
That's the question I ask myself every day, Carol. I wish I had an answer. What is my. My next one is to put out a song, which I. It's almost the end of the year because I've been trying to put one out every year. Because last year it came out September. The year before it came out September. And look, we are in the almost end of September. There's not a song out, and I haven't written it. So my next career goal is to get back and focused on myself. Less yeses to the stressed. I don't know what I'm saying. Yes.
Morgan
Say it again.
Abby Lee Anderson
Less yeses to the stresses.
Morgan
And it's like, more stress. What. What is raised? Less stress. More lives.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah. I'm gonna put that sticker on my car.
Morgan
Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
Say less. I don't even know what I said. But trying to write more. Okay. Be more present and. Gosh, that's a hard question, because people do ask me that all the time. Yeah. They're just like, so what? Like, what do you. What's next? Or what's your goal? What do you. Where do you see yourself? And I'm like, I really don't know. And that's. That's a problem, because people that know go far. I'm learning that they really have a. Have a foot Ahead or they're a step ahead. Yeah.
Morgan
But also, I think as you get older, priorities change and life changes, and you come up with things that are more important than just chasing a goal. You know, when you're young and you don't have a lot of responsibilities, it's easy to be like, well, that's my dream. And then that's my dream, and to do this. But you had adulting responsibilities, having a relationship, having kids, having all the things. Life changed a lot. It was hard to just, like, be like, okay, well, I'm gonna put my foot in front of this way. And like, unless you're 100% sure of that, and that's something you've always wanted to do and it's necessary, then it's really hard to put that one foot down and say, I'm gonna head this way.
Abby Lee Anderson
It really is. Yeah. Like, I know people that are like, oh, I've wanted to be a firefighter since I was five, you know, and then they went and did it. I'm like, man, I wish I had that. I mean, I knew I wanted to be a singer, but just hard in this town. I did. My anxiety, it just. It's kind of hard. I get when. Sometimes when I'm up there, I'm just get nervous, and I'm like, I don't know if that's something good. If you're always nervous at what you do. Like, you look at Lainey Wilson and, like, Ella Langley, and they just kill it, you know? And it's like, when I played the guitar in front of you guys, I was like, my hands were shaking. I just get nervous.
Morgan
There's always a step of layer of trying something new and doing things that are out of your comfort zone. But there is also a. A reality of. It should get more natural and more ease with time.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Morgan
But also, you haven't done it a whole lot.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know. Yeah.
Morgan
It's hard to say until you've, like, really consistently done it, you know, every day for six months. Then if you're still doing it. Yeah, it's probably not the right fit, right? That's hard to say.
Abby Lee Anderson
And it's different, like, with the. They have a fan base that just, like, is there, you know, and, like, singing in front of huge crowds, which I'm better at that.
Morgan
They didn't always have that.
Abby Lee Anderson
They didn't. Right.
Morgan
They had to grind to very Audiences, very minimal people. They're very much a part of that.
Abby Lee Anderson
So it is. It is.
Morgan
It goes back to, like, you had to love it.
Abby Lee Anderson
You Gotta love it.
Morgan
I've always said that to people, even people who are like, I want to start social media. I want to be an influencer. I was like, well, you better love it. It's just like with anything else.
Abby Lee Anderson
You.
Morgan
You commit time, you commit energy.
Abby Lee Anderson
You better love it.
Morgan
That's all I say about anything.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, you have to.
Morgan
Yeah. So. All right.
Abby Lee Anderson
That's a good question.
Morgan
All right. Reflecting on that. Oh, gosh. Please do not. Vulnerability, hangover. You're okay. You have to say anything.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, no, we're good with that.
Morgan
We're good this time. Okay.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, we're great.
Morgan
All right, we're gonna get out of here. Thanks for joining Abby. And they can find you where?

Morgan
Five out of five. We had so much fun together.
Abby Lee Anderson
That's so cool.
Morgan
I absolutely know that the show is gonna make fun of me, though, so. But that was gonna happen regardless of when or how I did it. So I just, you know, much like I mentioned last week during part two, I'm done living in fear. I'm just gonna live my life.
Abby Lee Anderson
That's good.
Morgan
How I want to do it.
Abby Lee Anderson
So you should.
Morgan
Yeah. So he's on and we had a lot of fun.

Hey everyone, it's Sophia Bush, host of the podcast Work in Progress. Lexis is a company that believes in the importance of setting a standard. For me, a standard that matters to me is being a friend, being a person, being a co worker who shows up. The standard Lexus has set for themselves is to experience amazing. Lexis's benchmarks are feelings, things like exhilaration and joy, and amazing can only be achieved by knowing people on a deeper level. It's feeling like your car was designed and built just for you. A machine that makes you feel more human. Because a car that doesn't make you feel something is a car that stops short of amazing. So experience amazing at your Lexus dealer.
