Sophie Cunningham
It's listener Q and A time where.
Ad Read Announcer
Morgan and a show member answer almost all your questions.
Morgan
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Oh yeah, that was the thing from part one if you didn't catch it. So make sure you go listen to part one.
Scuba Steve
We'll make it a thing in part two.
Morgan
Why not continue the theme? Yeah, it is after Christmas and almost into the New year.
Scuba Steve
It is. Yeah. Look at you and Orlando hanging out with me.
Sophie Cunningham
This is so much fun.
Morgan
I love Disney it's great. Love hearing scuba stories on a Saturday morning. That's from Max in Massachusetts.
Scuba Steve
What up, Max?
Morgan
Shout out.
Scuba Steve
What up Max in Mass.
Morgan
That was a pretty good Boston accent.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
Do you have off Bobby Boncho and other radio show at the same time? This is from Alison, Illinois.
Scuba Steve
So I'm not quite sure about my schedule yet. I'm sure at this point. Well, I know at this point there'll be an answer because it's December 27th, but as of right now, I have a meeting next week in real time about what shows I will have covered and what shows I'll be doing because I want to take time off and not be working while it's like I need to take a break.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
So I will try to get some shows done in advance, but I'm. I pride myself on doing like a live in person show. But I know we'll be able to do that because I'll be in Orlando and I probably can go into the Orlando studios, but they're also on vacation, so it's a whole thing and so I have no idea.
Morgan
You should be on vacation.
Scuba Steve
You should be on vacation. Yes, exactly. Yeah. So. So I'll probably let some tracker from Cincinnati do the shows while I'm gone.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
So yeah, we'll see.
Morgan
See what happens there.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
Chances you jump to your own show full time and leave the Bobby Bone show eventually. James in Virginia.
Scuba Steve
Oh, not chances. That's the goal at some point. And Bobby knows that too. We talked about it. At some point I want to be able to, you know, leave Bobby in a good place to where he can continue to do his venture and then me have this thing already built to where I then have my own monster of an empire. But in the rock space to where I have my thing and I do my thing and I got my own show and I got all my stuff.
Morgan
I like it. Yeah, I think we've talked about that a few times too. So it shouldn't be alarming to anybody.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, I've been very transparent and very forward and having the support system has been great. So yeah, I'm not gonna. I don't wanna hold back. I'd rather just be forward and like, this is what I want. These are my aspirations, these are my dreams. This is what I wanna do.
Morgan
And are you having fun on the live show?
Scuba Steve
Oh, it's awesome. It's a great time. I'm having an awesome. I'm having a really, really to do.
Morgan
Content that you are like really. I guess what's the way I would say this. You grew up on one and two that you really love. Like, that's content that you really like to talk about.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, it's my content. And it's also almost like a Seinfeld esque show where sometimes it's not so bit heavy. It's just more like a color driven show too, where there may be a topic or there may just. Just be a conversation of just me talking to somebody. And in that conversation we find something that is entertaining and then that ends up, you know, being the break for that part of the show.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. And then the music can kind of do whatever I want with it, which is kind of fun too. Cause it's classic rock and there's no one chasing a number one or anything. It's all songs.
Morgan
That's true.
Scuba Steve
They're all songs that have already all been number ones or have done what they've done on the charts. And so it's kind of like you play whatever and so it's a lot of fun. There's a lot more freedom and it's awesome. And then I feel like people trust in me to do whatever and I just do whatever the hell I want.
Morgan
This may be a random question, but so there's bands still like Foo Fighters.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
Or I guess like 21 pilots that still put out kind of rock songs. Do they kind of automatically go number one because they're new versus the classics that play? Is there even a chart for rock radio?
Scuba Steve
Oh, yeah, yeah. There's still an active rock chart because you still have bands like imagine dragons and 21 pilots and Foo Fighters and even Linkin park puts out new music now with their new lead singer, Bleh.
Morgan
And then you got three doors down.
Scuba Steve
Three doors down. They're not really doing any new music.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Shinedown puts out new music still. And then there's also some like other more hard rock bands that put out music like Highly suspect and stuff like that. So there's still an active rock chart. It's not as strong as it was back in the 90s and 2000s, but it still exists. So, yeah, they're still chasing number ones and stuff on the rock format.
Morgan
Do they go number one easier because there's not so much competition.
Scuba Steve
I don't know. I mean, because. Because mine's more classic rock.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
I would like to be able to have a show that as a mix of classic rock and active rock.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Because then when you then bleed in active rock, then because of the politics of it, then you'll get cool contesting for Ticket giveaways and interviews because those artists are trying to work their new music onto the station. So I would like to have a blend of old and new whenever I get to fully have control over what I want to do. So, yeah, there is a chart and I don't know how competitive it is, but it almost would think you would think to the way you're thinking. It's not as competitive because there isn't as much out there, I feel like. Or there's like ones that just dominate always. So, yeah, I don't know the answer to it.
Morgan
I'd be super curious about that to like dive deep into that. But yeah, I could totally see that. It's also funny to, to think you know, people really, when you're not super familiar with a genre like rock, for me you see a lot of people who compare with country music, how it's like, oh, well, there's new in pop, pop country, and then there's old classic country. And you have all these things like, that's not. People don't seem to think that's the way with any other genre. That's how it is with every genre. Oh yeah, every genre has old and new and everywhere in between.
Scuba Steve
Oh, totally. Pop, rock, hip hop, country. Yeah, there's, there's, there's the gold base is what they call them, which is, you know, the, the proven artists and songs and then mixed in. Like even on our country station, you're still mixing in some Garth Brooks and some Brooks and Dunn and all that kind of stuff. Toby Keith with the new stuff, because people like the old because it's proven. And then they like to hear a little bit of the new because that's unfamiliar and fun and trendy, you know, or chasing the number one, whatever it is.
Morgan
Yeah, interesting. Sorry, a little deep dive questions.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
With both shows, when do you sleep? What's your schedule like? That's from Laura in New Mexico.
Scuba Steve
So I, I get home around like 7ish. And then that's usually when I hear all the noise upstairs and everyone's getting ready for bed. And then so I try to like eat something and then run upstairs and help out with bath time, shower time, and then try to be in bed by like 8:39.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. And then I wake up, try to.
Morgan
Get some good sleep.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. And then I wake up at four, go downstairs my home office, make some coffee or green tea or whatever, do some work before we go to work. And then I come in long days and start all over again.
Morgan
But Saturday and Sunday, you're at home, right?
Scuba Steve
Yes, I'm at home Saturday and Sunday. Yeah. Okay. Unless I'm coaching basketball or something.
Morgan
Yeah. Being a dad.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, being a dad doing. Running errands, going to Costco. Going to Costco and all that stuff.
Morgan
I love Costco.
Scuba Steve
Us, too. Yeah. Hell, yeah. Executive members, baby. Come on now.
Sophie Cunningham
Same.
Morgan
I'm not a gold member yet, but.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Well, I think it's like regular gold and executive.
Ad Read Announcer
Okay.
Morgan
I'm a gold member. I'm not executive.
Scuba Steve
Okay. All right. You gotta get that credit card in the middle. Okay. You're in the middle. Yeah. You're almost there. You're. Get your training wheel still on?
Morgan
Yeah, I don't need it. I don't need bulk items of a lot of things right now.
Scuba Steve
It's a good point. Yeah. Yeah, true. Yeah.
Morgan
I haven't quite hit the maximum capacity status, I guess.
Scuba Steve
But you get a lot of points, though, because you can use that credit card, like, elsewhere or buying gas and you get 5% back buying gas at Costco.
Morgan
I do, always. That was really the main reason I wanted to get gas at Costco is hella.
Scuba Steve
She was like 20, 30 cents cheaper a gallon easily.
Morgan
And it's right by my house, so make super convenient.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
That was really why. And now I just go in there to randomly frolic around and buy things I don't need.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
Basically it.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Morgan
Did you see the recent interview with Adam Sandler where the Scuba. Scuba Steve bit was based off of something his father actually did when Adam was a kid?
Scuba Steve
I haven't. No.
Morgan
Liz in New York.
Scuba Steve
No, No. I need to go watch it. Liz in New York.
Morgan
Let me see if I can track this down really quick. I. I saw a clip of him going viral.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
And I think this is it. I just didn't hear the audio of it. Let me see.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. I was hoping one day where I could talk to him about that, because I know we had him on a show a few years ago, but when we went on the show, it was all, like, through Netflix. And so there wasn't really an opportunity to be like, hey, Adam, what's up? And it's Bobby's interview, so I never want to, like, impose. It's not me. It's not my thing. But I was like, hey, dude. Like. And I like. And I made it a point, too, that my. When we connected with him on Zoom, I had my name. I said Scuba Steve. And I even was, like, setting up. All right, Adam, so Bobby's coming on. I was, like, hoping he would, like, See it and say something. But he's, like, sitting in a director's chair 100ft from the thing, so he's not even seeing it. So I was like, oh, he can't even see it. Says Scuba Steve. Like, dang. I hope he would respond and go, hey, what's that? That's because. Who's Scuba Steve? But that never happened.
Morgan
I. Yeah. That would have been so cool for him to see that and recognize it.
Scuba Steve
I know. But yeah.
Morgan
Okay. I'm trying to see. Okay.
Scuba Steve
Is the interview he did with somebody.
Sophie Cunningham
It was recent.
Morgan
I saw a clip, and now, of course, I can't find it. I'm typing in Adam Sandler, Scuba Steve, and it's not popping up. But it was like he was saying something about that movie was like something that he brought from his real life had happened.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Morgan
And I'm trying, Big Daddy.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Because basically, Scuba Steve plays a character that helps that kid use the bathroom and, like, do certain things almost as kind of like a tool to be like. Scuba Steve says.
Morgan
Okay, I can't find it.
Scuba Steve
Now.
Morgan
Maybe it was with this Timothy Chalamet interview.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Sophie Cunningham
Okay, hold on.
Morgan
Let me see. Because Timothy and Adam, I'm tracking this down as we do it. This is live. This is what this looks like. This is a live track down Timothy Chalamet, which also. He shaved his head. Did you see that?
Scuba Steve
I saw, like, a video of him and Kylie Jenner, and his head was shaved. Yeah, yeah. They're both, like, wearing, like, orange clothing or something. They're like a red carpet.
Sophie Cunningham
Yeah.
Morgan
They look straight. Like, what's it called? Oompa Loompas.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The. The. Was it Dumb and Dumber movie?
Ad Read Announcer
Yeah.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Morgan
I found it. Okay.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Maybe you could keep them company.
Morgan
This is from Vanity Fair.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Morgan
And they're playing back the clip.
Scuba Steve
I'm happy for Dylan and Cole, but I feel like that should have been me because I would have been the same age you. Did you come in and audition for that? No, no. So of course you wouldn't be able to get it. You're making Big Daddy. Do you have a sense that it was going to be as huge as it was, or. No, we had a low, low budget, and we made some good old cash on that one.
Morgan
That was so funny. I love him.
Scuba Steve
Immediately spent it all. But that's okay. But honestly, it was one of the best times ever. I actually, that was the. My wife, Jackie, that was the first movie she. Me and. Me and Jackie was my waitress in that movie.
Sophie Cunningham
We.
Scuba Steve
We kind of okay.
Morgan
It's not. I don't know if it's about Super City, but showing it during that movie. But that ain't true.
Sophie Cunningham
We met.
Scuba Steve
We met at a party and we fell in love. That was fun. But then she was. She was in Big Daddy. We had fun. That's not it. That's not it.
Morgan
But it is. That interview.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah. Somewhere in there he talks about his dad.
Morgan
Yeah. And some moon with that Super Seed bit and I digress. Digress.
Scuba Steve
Whatever. We can all find it on our own time watching and we can rehear next time.
Morgan
Those learning about.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah. His wife and the low budget of the film.
Ad Read Announcer
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
And that guy making some weird plug about. He should be in there, but he never even. Did you audition for it? He's like, no. And he's like, why the hell would you have been in Big Idiot?
Morgan
That was funny. Okay, we're going to take a break. We'll come back with some more questions.

Scuba Steve
I would say listening to part one because that would explain everything. Next.
Morgan
It is true. I and really we don't have a whole lot. We like the things that we've done every year for the last few years. Or maybe some. Like we go to Texas Roadhouse on yeah, on Christmas Eve and we also will always play games Christmas night. We eat my mom's red velvet cake every year.
Scuba Steve
Oh, red velvet.
Morgan
Homemade red velvet cake.
Scuba Steve
Ooh, that sounds awesome. Oh yeah.
Morgan
It's the only time she she makes it and so we love time of year.
Scuba Steve
And then I also love red velvet cheesecake at Cheesecake Factory. Oh. Oh, yeah.
Sophie Cunningham
Well.
Morgan
And the icing she makes is kind of cream cheesy.
Scuba Steve
Okay, cool.
Morgan
But also like a homemade icing.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Morgan
It's the perfect mix of both.
Scuba Steve
All right.
Morgan
It's my favorite thing. We do also make a poppy seed bread. That's amazing. Food is really our families.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. All about food. Yeah. Yeah. My sister, she will, like, as you'll hear in part one about the not cooking stuff, but she still will bake a ton of cookies because that's what my grandmother always did was cookies, Cookies, cookies, cookies, cookies.
Morgan
Well, Christmas is associated in general with.
Scuba Steve
Baking, sweets and all that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Morgan
Like, you always have a lot of treats at the holidays.
Scuba Steve
Oh, my God. Yeah.
Morgan
So I feel like that's it. And then we'll do cheek wood. We look at Christmas lights. Those are a few things we've done the last few years, but that's about it for Christmas traditions. Any that you didn't mention in part one?
Scuba Steve
No. Cuz I think. I think it was. Everything wasn't there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We hit it.
Morgan
You put a certain ornament on a tree.
Scuba Steve
Is there a. I have ornaments my mom gave me from when she used to put on her tree of like, like my first ornament from when I was a baby. Like that kind of stuff. Oh. And one of my freaking kids broke one of my original ornaments from the 80s as we're putting the tree stuff up. And I was. And we were. We're putting them up and I always put like the. You know, I don't know. If you do this, you put the fragile ones at the very top, which actually is kind of stupid because if it falls, it falls really freaking high and it will break. But you don't put them down low because then the kids can grab them and break them. So it's kind of like this. Like, what do you do?
Morgan
So somewhere deep in the middle.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. But even then, they can grab them then.
Morgan
So that's true.
Scuba Steve
Put them all the. Put all the fragile, fragile ones at the top. But as we're putting one of them up, there was this little bear from the 80s, and I don't know who grabbed it. Someone grabbed, like, the head and someone grabbed the body. They were fighting over it and they ripped the head off the bear. And I tried to glue back and I'm like, this thing is like, this thing is old. Like, what the hell? It's been around forever.
Morgan
40 years old.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Wow. And they broke it.
Morgan
You have to keep from crying.
Scuba Steve
I was a little Bit emotional. But I was just. Also, we were. It was after Thanksgiving and we were all sick. We had been sick for a week. And so I was just kind of over it. And I was like, who gives a crap? Whatever. I tried gluing it wouldn't glue. And I was like, put it back in the box. We'll figure it out next year.
Morgan
Save it for another time.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, save another time. I'm too tired and exhausted.
Morgan
Take it or send it to one of those people, too, that do really.
Scuba Steve
Well at repairing, like, restoration stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Morgan
But you get it repaired.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. That's Repair Man. Man, man, man, man, Man. You know that one?
Sophie Cunningham
I don't.
Scuba Steve
That's from all that. Keenan Kel's one of his characters. It was Kel's character.
Morgan
I loved that show.
Scuba Steve
He would come out and he would, like, you know, and he'd be Repairman, but he would never repair anything. He'd actually. Would break everything.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Now I know he'd come in here like a tool belt and something will be broken. He'd be like, repair man, man, man, man, man, man, man. And he would just, like, destroy whatever it was. And then they'd be like, oh, my God, you just made it worse. And he'd be like, repair man, man, man, man, man, man. And he would leave.
Morgan
Now that you've acted it out. Yeah. All that came flooding back to me. I loved that show.
Scuba Steve
It's a great freaking show. SNL for kids, basically.
Morgan
Yeah. It was so good. Nickelodeon and Enjoy General was really good then.
Scuba Steve
Unbelievable back then.
Morgan
Do you get to see your family in Florida? Very much. That's from Katina in Indiana.
Scuba Steve
Katina. I only get to see them maybe once or twice a year. And then sometimes they'll come visit here in Nashville maybe once a year. So I see them handful of times throughout the whole year.
Morgan
It's really hard when you live in other states. It just adds a whole other layer of. Of getting to see people. It'd be different if a couple hours away. You could drive every so often. But.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
Yeah. When you have to have a flight most of the time to get somewhere.
Scuba Steve
Oh, my God. Yeah. The driving is a whole day of it. And flying. Yes. But then you're flying and it's added expense and all that crap. So it's not as convenient and easy. And then you got. I got three kids and a wife, so it's like. I can't just up and go.
Sophie Cunningham
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
And see them. So it's a little different. Yeah.
Morgan
Do you ever go by yourself out There for work.
Scuba Steve
Like I was in Miami, but that's not in Orlando for Fiesta Latina. And then one year Fiesta Latina was in Orlando. So I went by my. I brought, actually my oldest son. He came with me and he hung out with his cousins and my sister while I worked Fiesta Latina.
Morgan
Oh, fun. So he had a little fun family trip out of it. But you were working.
Scuba Steve
I was working. We did one, maybe two or three Thanksgivings ago. We went out there and just me and him went. I think it was the last Thanksgiving we. That were like, my grandma was gonna die soon, so it was kind of like. My wife's like, you just gotta go. And I was like, I'll bring the oldest and he'll love it. She's like, yeah, bring him. We'll stay back. Because Thanksgiving's kinda like me because I'm Native American. So I think the holiday's stupid. So we don't really celebrate it because it's based on raping and pillaging and lies.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
So we don't really. Sorry to bring the energy down.
Morgan
No, it's. I.
Scuba Steve
It's a bullcrap holiday.
Morgan
You know, they don't teach you that in school.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And they won't teach you that in school because they'll get the. They'll just rip those books out and they'll be like, hey, history doesn't exist.
Morgan
That did not happen.
Scuba Steve
That didn't happen. We didn't steal the land from those people that had lived there for hundreds and thousands of years.
Morgan
It's true. It's an interesting. It's really dark when you go back and look at it.
Scuba Steve
It's hella dark. And they try to paint this beautiful picture of like a meal. Like, screw that crap. It's bullshit. It's bull. It's bull crap.
Morgan
Bull honky.
Scuba Steve
Bull honky. The holiday is bullcrap.
Morgan
Favorite.
Scuba Steve
Shouldn't be celebrated. You're celebrating people getting murdered again.
Morgan
Dark.
Scuba Steve
And they're land taken and then pushed on a small reservation with no electricity and then treated like crap. Okay, anyways, next question.
Sophie Cunningham
Favorite.
Scuba Steve
And then they get pulled over by ice and told they can't be there. But we were here first.
Morgan
Are you good now?
Scuba Steve
Okay, now I'm good.
Morgan
Favorite and least favorite parts of your role on Bobby Bones show, Kelsey in Wisconsin.
Scuba Steve
Favorite parts, I would say, like, challenges. I like a challenge. Even though in the moment you're like, ah. But it presents something interesting and unique and new and different and you have to figure it out because you can't escape it. You can't just be like, I'm not gonna do that. You're like, no, I have to do this because Bobby needs whatever it is that needs to be done, or the show needs whatever needs to be done. So I like challenges. They. They make me, you know, I guess think. Yeah, I guess I consider myself. I got hired initially as a fixer to come in and help fix some stuff. So I. That's just my personality.
Morgan
You're a fix.
Scuba Steve
Kill us, huh? Kill people how? I almost killed you guys a couple times.
Morgan
Why did I get looped into that? Have you tried to kill me?
Scuba Steve
I've tried to kill everyone. At some point, I feel like I.
Morgan
Might be the only one that's on the other side of that.
Scuba Steve
Other side of what?
Morgan
I don't think you've ever tried to kill me.
Scuba Steve
Not. I'm trying to kill you, I don't think. No. Trying to think.
Morgan
You may have been frustrated with me, but you've never, like, reached the point of, like, maximum capacity with me.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. No, not you. There are some other people that I'm like, oh, my God, what are you doing? Doing?
Morgan
So you've never done that with me?
Scuba Steve
No.
Morgan
Most of the time, though, because I just handle everything until I then come to you, and I'm like, hey, I need your help with this.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. I think you're in a similar boat as me sometimes of, like. Of, like, having to deal with certain things. You're just kind of like, same perspective, I think.
Ad Read Announcer
Yes.
Scuba Steve
And then the least favorite thing, I don't really know because, like. Because the least favorite thing for most people would be the challenges. And for me, it's kind of like I see it as an opportunity to do something.
Morgan
Getting up early, that's rough.
Scuba Steve
Yes. Getting barely sucks. Yeah. But I've been getting up early for 20 years, so I don't really know.
Morgan
I don't feel like you ever get used to it, though.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. But I don't really know anything else, though. And even before I got into radio, I always had jobs where I got up super early, so I've always been getting up early. And then high school, I got up early, so I was like, I've been getting up early since I got out of middle school.
Morgan
That's kind of sad to look back at.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. So for, like, a long time, I've been getting up early.
Morgan
Okay.
Scuba Steve
A really long time. Yeah.
Morgan
Okay. So no. No least favorite things. Least favorite things that people frustrate you maybe.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. For, like, things were just kind. Really? Like what? Like, really like, you you're doing that or you're not doing this or like just moments where I just think. I like for me, I live on, like, common sense is common for me, but for some it ain't so common. So I'm just like, when something happens, I'm like, huh? I'm like, how stupid are you?
Morgan
So you, you wear your RBF on your face.
Scuba Steve
Oh, yeah, for sure. Like if something goes wrong, I'm like, what, are you effing kidding me? Like you said what? Or you did what? Or you didn't do what? Or you don't understand what? Like, like, let's go. This is a syndicated show in 200 markets. If you can at this level, then you can move on because we are moving. We are going. And there have been, I guess, some previous staff maybe where you're like, where are you? What is happening right now? Like, this is the big leagues, this isn't the minor leagues. Get your S together, otherwise move on.
Morgan
See, you're, you're good at wearing it out. I wear it inward.
Scuba Steve
Okay?
Morgan
You hold it in poker face a lot of the time.
Scuba Steve
Oh, yeah. No, I'm like, what are we doing? What? You want to be here? So show me you want to be here. Let's go. What are you doing? This is one of the biggest shows in the F. In country. What are you doing?
Morgan
This is a good least favorite.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Least favorite is dealing with things who are just like what?
Morgan
I think that's all of life though too. I think that's my least favorite thing in all of life.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
Is where I have to go. Wtf?
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Are you for real right now? Do you know where you're at right now?
Morgan
Because I do that with a lot of people. Just I feel like interactions in general with people now. I do a lot of wtf? Like, did that really just happen?
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Huh.
Morgan
Am I crazy?
Scuba Steve
And I don't mind calling out like, what are we? What? Excuse me.
Morgan
You'll do that to strangers too?
Scuba Steve
Like, even where I told the story on the. We're doing the part two of the show, whatever, with the whole Santa Claus thing. And we were in line and there was three people in the reserve line and one person that just lollygagged up in the walk up line. And the common sense is you knock out the three people that have been there for an hour, they had an appointment at 10 o' clock and then you do 1, 2, and then skip the third who's been there for an hour plus with three kids under seven and you go to that Other person who just. Who's sitting on the ground and clearly is fine where they are, because they know I'm a walk up. I get in when I get in. Like, they know. Yeah, that and so common sense. I'm like, common sense, bro. You knock out the three that have been here forever, and then you move on to everyone else.
Morgan
No, you're. I was actually completely in an agreement with you on that one.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
I didn't understand that. Santa's logic whatsoever, because I was like, what?
Scuba Steve
And I could feel like it all, like, building up in my chest. And then I'm like, okay, don't be Steve from 2009. You got to be Steve from 2025 with three kids. And you gotta. You gotta assert your dominance and also assert the common sense of what we're doing here, but also not be physical or be.
Morgan
Especially in a place like Nashville, because there's. The patience is very thin.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
Because so much of Nashville is mediocre.
Scuba Steve
Oh, mediocre. Like, my wife say this all the time. We're just. We're like. Like, this place is great, but it's like lipstick on a pig sometimes. Like, some people are just so stupid and so basic. You're like, man, this place is like, where are we? Like, it's like it on the outside. You're like, oh, my God, it's so cool. It's amazing. And sometimes you're like, you work here, like, and at this capacity, like, who the hell you got hired to work here? And you're that stupid.
Morgan
Well, and I was so basic. I mean, I was referring to lines. Like, there's so much traffic everywhere. There's lines. There's. You have to have reservations to be everywhere to do anything.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah. But I made my reservations, so I'm prepared.
Morgan
I do, too. But, like, there's a frustration in that. When it's like, well, we do the things that are required by the city, and then it's, like, still not functioning. Follow the way that everybody else is doing it.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Like, even the common sense, I was like, man, we need some infrastructure here. We need some sort of like a light rail or a subway or a train or something that connects all the outer cities into downtown. And I hear about the Music City Loop. I'm like, oh, it's amazing. They're going to build a loop that will go from the airport to downtown. And they're even talking about building another tunnel that goes from downtown outside the city. I'm like, this is amazing. And I go, oh, wait a second. This is effing stupid. It's only for Teslas. Like what?
Morgan
Yeah, it's like the one in Las Vegas.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Which has failed and everyone hates it. No one uses it. So you have taken something that is supposed to be. It should just be a public transit thing, which obviously it's backed by Tesla. And so there's the hidden agenda of their bull crap.
Morgan
But they can build everything. Why can't they build a rail system?
Scuba Steve
Exactly. Well, yeah, why can't they? Why can't they make that Music City Loop, not Tesla cars, and make it a train, an underground train. And so I was like, oh, we must have. We must have voted on this. Oh, we didn't even vote on it. All the politicians got paid out to say yes. And then when they get confronted. I watch the Instagram stories. When they get confronted, they get so pissed off because they know what they did was wrong, and they don't want to admit what they did was wrong. And so they just. They just sit there. And then they get mad that they're being questioned because they know what they did was wrong. It's like when you go to a kid and you're like, did you just eat that chocolate candy? And I said, you couldn't have it. And they're like. And then they don't want to, like, did you have a cookie?
Morgan
Throw a tantrum.
Scuba Steve
And they throw a tantrum. You're like, you're throwing a tantrum because you know what you did was wrong. And so everyone that is in that state senate house or whatever the hell you want to call it here, downtown, they're a bunch of pieces of crap because they took something that should have never been passed. And then I talked to somebody on my show, on the rock show, who is a building, who's an inspector. So he inspects. He inspects all these high rises they've been building. He's like. He points them out. I was like, yeah, I inspected that one. That one. That one. I was like, hey, have you heard about the Music City Loop? And he goes, no. And I told him what it was. He goes, how are they going to do that? And I was like, what do you mean? He's like, how. How are they going to. Like, how can they do that? I was like, what do you mean? He's like, they can't cut through the lime. They can't cut through the stone.
Morgan
Yeah, we have. We can't even have basements here. So how are you going to go underground?
Scuba Steve
Exactly? He's like. He's like, how Are they going to do that? And then six months from now, Costco is going to be, you know, 40ft in the ground. I go, what do you mean? He's like, it's going to explode. It's not going to work. He's like, it's going to be a huge environmental problem and things are going to start. The streets and the roads are going to start collapsing. Houses are going to start falling into the ground because they can't support it. I was like, are you serious? He's like, I've been expecting. He goes, I've been inspecting Nashville soil and concrete for 30 plus years. I'm telling you, it can't happen. It won't work. And I'm like, holy crap. So not only do they get paid off, and I don't give a crap if this pisses people off, because it's the truth. Not only did politicians get paid off by Tesla and Elon Musk and all this crap to do this stuff, but now it's going to affect us as people who live here and all the tourists. So now if you're in that tunnel and you're coming from the airport and you're coming into downtown, you could die in that tunnel. Because not only could you die from it falling on you, but Teslas explode. So what happens when a Tesla catches fire and explodes in that tunnel? What do you do?
Morgan
Yeah, well, things are just also done very haphazardly now. There's not a lot of quality. There's not a lot of, like, care that's going into no quality control.
Scuba Steve
It's money. So they got paid. So, like, we don't give a crap. So anyone that comes to Nashville, do not use the Music City loop. It is extremely unsafe, and it is a terrible idea.
Morgan
Just use the Ubers and the Lyfts.
Scuba Steve
Ubers and Lyfts, they're always there. And, or, or, or this thing never.
Morgan
Gets finished because it just stops randomly somewhere underground.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, I don't even know where the Las Vegas one is at, but I.
Morgan
Know that it's under the Expo center we rode in.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Yeah, for a while it took forever to get done, and environmentally it was terrible for the area. And. And people don't even really even use it because they're like, it's. Because it's unsafe.
Morgan
Well, because it's. It's. Yeah, that's a whole story for Day.
Scuba Steve
But yeah, yeah, yeah, but it's. Our city's corrupt as hell. So corrupt. And every politician here that's like, oh, I'm Looking out for my constituents. No, you're not. Because you're not. Because if you were, you would let us vote on it and have. And let us have an opinion on this because we would have not wanted a Tesla tube. We would have. Would have. We wanted like a light rail or a train or a subway.
Morgan
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
So that we could all can use advance.
Morgan
Can we? Are we in the time of the Jetsons?
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Morgan
I want a flying car.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Where's our flying cars?
Morgan
That's what I want.
Scuba Steve
Hell yeah.
Morgan
All right, we're getting out of here.
Scuba Steve
Let's go. Yeah. We ended on a pretty good rant. Oh, yeah. Well, we'll.
Morgan
We'll answer this last one very, very quickly. Going to Disneyland, California for the first time. Can I do it all in one day? Tips or advice?
Scuba Steve
Laura, in Mississippi you can, but I don't recommend it. Well, it depends on when you go. Or Laura.
Morgan
Right, yeah.
Scuba Steve
So, Laura, it depends on when you go, what time of year. If you're going in a busy season, which will be like the holidays, spring break, summertime, it's gonna be difficult to do both of them. You can also. I don't know what your situation is if you got kids and how big your party is, but it is doable because like Disney World, you know, Morgan, it's like spread outs everywhere.
Morgan
You need a day for each park easily.
Scuba Steve
But Disneyland, it's great because it's like a T where you have Downtown Disney and then you have a split where you have Disneyland on one side and California Adventure on the other. So the, the walk time from park to park is much easier and they're smaller, they're not as big as Disney World parks. So it is possible. But I recommend you do a day in each so you can not be stressed and you can enjoy each park for a full day.
Morgan
Yeah. And listen, I did it for my 30th birthday. We did the whole thing for in one day and we loved it. But it was in October. It wasn't a busy time.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, it's chill then. Yeah.
Ad Read Announcer
Yeah.
Morgan
There was not a lot of people there and we wrote everything. So if you can go during a non busy time, you might be to able accomplish it.
Scuba Steve
But.
Morgan
Yeah, I also like to move at the speed of light, so that was very much up my alley. To Scuba's point, if you don't like to move fast and you don't want to be overwhelmed or stressed, I would enjoy it.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Sophie Cunningham
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
And if you have a family too, then it's more.
Morgan
Yeah, that was all adults on our trip, so we didn't have to worry about anybody dragging behind.
Scuba Steve
Exactly.
Sophie Cunningham
All right.
Morgan
We ended on a good note.
Sophie Cunningham
There we go. Yeah.
Scuba Steve
Look at that. Wow.
Morgan
All right, Scuba, have a merry Christmas.
Scuba Steve
Thank you. We already did, actually. Right. And happy holidays.
Morgan
Oh, yeah.
