Morgan
Eddie's my fave and everyone else's haters. Sarah in Idaho. I'd like to point out I've never been a hater of Eddie. You've never been a hater, so I'm not a hater.
Eddie
Yes. It's mostly Amy, but yeah, Morgan and.
Morgan
Eddie are my favorites. That's from Sherry in Marilyn. So now time for questions.
Eddie
All right, let's do it.
Morgan
Hard hitting questions. Besides salsa, what is Eddie's favorite thing to make?
Eddie
Kayla in Missouri, my favorite thing to make is fajitas. I mean, that's my go to.
Morgan
Like your bread and butter.
Eddie
Yeah. I think it's probably just because my dad used to make them. So I've just been around that smell my entire life of like grilling, making fajitas, eating tacos. Like, it's just part of my childhood, really.
Morgan
And it reminds you of your family, I would imagine too. It's one of those nostalgia things.
Eddie
I don't know how you grew up, but I grew up with grilling was part of every weekend. Sometimes like every night. You know, like, my dad probably grilled about four days out of the week.
Morgan
Maybe that was the big grilling boom. I feel like grilling is still popular, but I feel like there was certainly a grilling boom where everybody had one and it's what everybody did.
Eddie
But I don't know because I don't think it was a boom. It's just what he did all the time.
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
And like, that's what everyone did. My uncles, if there was a get together, everyone was grilling. Like if you were going to a party, for example, like, my uncle's throwing a party. Morgan, you're bringing the beer. I'm bringing the meat. Lunchboxes, bringing in the chips and salsa. Like, and that's how you'd go to the party. And then whoever was hosting it had the grill and had the fire going. Did you bring the meat? Yes. Here you Go, boom. And then they just cook it.
Morgan
Okay, so is this a culture thing too?
Eddie
Maybe.
Morgan
That's also part of this.
Eddie
Big time, Big time. And my dad, like, not party. It was just be a regular day. I get home from, like, school or something or work or whatever. And he was already. Already outside, like, the grill, the barbecue pit was already smoking. And he'd be sitting down, and it wouldn't take him like, 30 minutes to grill, which is crazy. Like, I remember when I went to college and seeing, like, people like, hey, we're gonna grill burgers or whatever, and they would be done in like 10, 15 minutes. I'd be like, what are you doing? Like, because my dad would cook for hours, and it would be a three hour process. And you'd go out there and be like, is it ready, dad? Like, no, not yet. And be like, it's been three hours, dad.
Morgan
You think he's messing with you guys?
Eddie
No, because he would just. He just loves sitting out there drinking beer and grilling and whatever.
Morgan
Maybe he was getting some alone time. And so that process might have been a little stretch.
Eddie
That was probably it too. Yeah. So it's just part of, like, me growing up.
Morgan
Yeah, I love that. But that's a cool thing to have a reminder of growing up and then you get to use it with your own family. Yeah, that's cool.
Eddie
Although none of my kids have asked me to, like, you know, teach them.
Morgan
Yet, which I'm surprised you haven't forcibly taught them.
Eddie
I don't really want to do that. I kind of like, they love eating it. Don't get me wrong. They're always just like, oh, can I have a piece? Can I have a piece? And like, is it ready? Kind of like what I did when I was a kid. So I don't know if my dad ever taught me.
Morgan
Yeah, that's what I was going to ask. Did your dad teach you?
Eddie
Not really. Like, he would make me clean the barbecue pit.
Morgan
Okay.
Eddie
Like, before, like, you know, get all that old charcoal, all the ashes out of there first, and then kind of like get an onion, Start the fire, and then get an onion and clean the grill. It was almost like I was the sous.
Morgan
You do really clean the grill with an onion?
Eddie
Yeah. You scrape it with, like, a aluminum brush.
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
And just to get all that grime off from whatever you cooked before. And then you get an onion, and you kind of just sanitize it with an onion.
Morgan
That's funny. I always saw onion and being used to clean grills online, and I thought it was AI or not real, because, like, somebody was messing with me. Because who cleans with an onion?
Eddie
Yeah. It's so real. That's why I still do it.
Morgan
That's crazy. Okay, who makes the sides for Thanksgiving since you make the turkey?
Eddie
My wife and my mom. And. Okay, so this year my sister was in town, so she. She helped a little, but my mom does the stuffing. It's just, it's been a recipe in our family for so long that she's.
Morgan
So it's not the box stuffing?
Eddie
No, no, no. You toast, like, bread.
Morgan
Every ingredient is homemade.
Eddie
Yeah. You have to toast the bread and then you have to crumble it in little crumbs and then throw the prunes in there and chop all the olives or whatever is in there. I don't. I've never learned how to do that. But they do it, like by hand. All of it.
Morgan
Wow. Okay. Do you love the stuffing then? Since it's a love it sound family recipe?
Eddie
I love it. Although this year I felt like.
I'm not like using the word stuffing, but like, I felt stuffed to where. Like, I didn't want to eat much after the dinner. After we had like, you know, dinner at 2:00 clock or whatever. Thanksgiving meal. I never really wanted to eat anything else again for like, till the next day, really.
Morgan
Which is like, Never had seconds.
Eddie
No. Which is like, always like, oh, I'm hungry after the football game. Like, I'm hungry for some more. And this year I was just like, I'm just. I'm stuffed.
Morgan
Like, don't really want a better eating track lately.
Eddie
No.
Morgan
So it might have just been a.
Eddie
Maybe it was just like, everything was so, like. I mean, but you look at your plate, right? It's like mashed potatoes, all carbs, Mac and cheese, all carbs, stuffing, all carbs. You know, like the rolls. All carbs.
Morgan
Yeah. What are all of the sides? Because this is what I've realized is people have different sides.
Eddie
Yeah.
Morgan
There are some that are consistent for everybody. But what are your guys? All your sides.
Eddie
So when it's my family, it's always green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and the turkey is the meal. And then cranberry, which I never. I don't eat that.
Morgan
Okay. Okay. So we don't even do a turkey. We do ham.
Eddie
That's crazy.
Morgan
Which I don't eat. So we don't have turkey or gravy.
Eddie
And nobody, your mom, your dad, nobody wants it.
Morgan
No, they all want ham. It's also easier. So it doesn't Require. And especially we do it at my house. I don't have a grill or anything.
Eddie
Do your sisters eat meat?
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
Okay.
Morgan
Yeah, everybody does. So then we do. We have a sweet potato casserole. We have a green bean casserole. We have deviled eggs. We have a regular potato casserole. So not mashed potatoes. We do regular potato crust.
Eddie
What's in there?
Morgan
It's like hash browns with cheese and sour cream, and it's topped with, like, crispy flakes.
Eddie
Yeah, that's good.
Morgan
And you bake it and then rolls and stuffing, so see how different. Oh, and corn casserole. That's been a new addition since I've lived in the South.
Eddie
Corn.
Morgan
Like corn pudding?
Eddie
Yes.
Morgan
Have you ever had that?
Eddie
Never had corn pudding, but I've had creamed corn. Is it the same thing?
Morgan
No. Okay, so corn pudding is made with, like, cornbread and corn and creamed corn.
Eddie
Never done that.
Morgan
All mixed and you bake it. It's also. You add, like, sour cream and butter and stuff to it.
Eddie
That sounds delicious.
Morgan
Yeah, you would love.
Eddie
This is really good.
Morgan
Really popular in the South. I only knew about it starting, like, two or three years ago now. I make it all the time.
Eddie
Yeah, sounds good.
Morgan
We have a lot more sides than you guys do.
Eddie
Yeah, we're pretty. Pretty easy on the sides.
Morgan
Turkey is your. As main dish.
Eddie
Turkey. I mean, turkey is my responsibility. It's been my responsibility for the last, like, I don't know, eight years.
Morgan
Are you waking up at 6am to do it now?
Eddie
When you fry a turkey, it usually takes about an hour and a half to do it.
Morgan
Oh, that's a lot better than having to cook, I guess, typically in the oven. Have to put it in the oven. And it starts at, like, 6am and every hour or something.
Eddie
Yes. And you always want to dribble it with, like, you know, some of the juices or whatever to keep it moist. But, like, when you fry a turkey, you don't do any of that.
Morgan
It only takes about an hour and a half. So it's pretty fun.
Eddie
Oh, yeah. What's cool is putting it in there and hearing all the bubbles and the sizzling. So good.
Morgan
That's what's really fun in general about Thanksgiving, because I don't know about you, but our oven is, like, stuffed full with everything, and everything's just going everywhere. And you have all the smells. A combination of everything.
Eddie
That's what my mom was saying was, like, good to fry a turkey because, like, it leaves the oven for everything else because that becomes a Thing, Right. Like a war of like everyone trying to make sides. Like, I need the oven. Well, I'm not done with the oven.
Morgan
Yep, that's exactly what happens. You should have seen mine this year. We made so many that it was like stuffed on every level. And I was like, hopefully it all cooks. We're gonna find out. That was from Ashley in Louisiana. Who is your favorite Cowboys player? This is from Paula and Austin, like all time.
Eddie
Like, I'll let you. All time, all time favorite Dallas Cowboys player for me, because I imagine it.
Morgan
Changes year to year. Who you like on the team.
Eddie
Oh, yeah. I mean, I mean now currently, you know, like, you have the players that you like or whatever, but all time, I think it's hard to beat. Emmett Smith is probably my favorite. He was the running back.
Morgan
Okay.
Eddie
And he was really good. And he still has the all time rushing record, I think season record for like the most yards.
Morgan
Okay.
Eddie
So, like, he was really good.
Morgan
When did he play? What years?
Eddie
In the 90s.
Morgan
Okay.
Eddie
He played in the 90s.
Morgan
He's still pretty popular. He still does stuff.
Eddie
Yeah. Like he's in commercials still. He won Dancing with the Stars. I believe that's him.
Morgan
Was he on the same time when Bobby was.
Eddie
No.
Morgan
Did Bobby just. Who was the football player that was on with Bobby? Wasn't there a football player or an athlete?
Eddie
I think that there was, but I don't remember. I know that he met Emmett Smith because Emmett Smith came, you know, like one episode or whatever.
Morgan
That might be what I'm thinking.
Eddie
Yeah, okay. Yeah, I do.
Morgan
But you haven't met him.
Eddie
I've never met Emma Smith. Oh, no. I met Emma Smith last year.
Morgan
Oh, yeah.
Eddie
At the Super Bowl.
Morgan
Yeah. Because Mike posted a video of him.
Eddie
Yeah.
Morgan
Was it cool?
Eddie
It was amazing. Yes.
Morgan
Was he as nice or like, worse than you thought?
Eddie
Nicer. Nicer than I thought. No need for him to be nice. Like football players, I feel like they. They don't really go out of their way to be nice. Like, they don't. Like, they just. They're athletes and they're good at what they do. They. They don't feel. I think there are a few that feel like they need to be kind of over the. Be nice to their fans or whatever. But like, most of them don't really care. Like, like me, hate me. And there's so many critiques of their. Of their work where they probably have just like a thick skin against all their fans that are just like, whatever, man.
Morgan
Like, brush it all off.
Eddie
I play for me, you know, they.
Morgan
Get a big paycheck. They don't have to worry about it.
Eddie
I play for me.
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
And God, you know, like. But they don't really. Don't go out of their way to be nice. Emmett Smith was very nice. Deion Sanders, very nice.
Morgan
Is there any that have been really mean? Can you say mean or just. I. Maybe the more so thing is not warm. Because not warm doesn't indicate they're mean. It's just maybe they're not super fan friendly.
Eddie
I mean, I saw some baseball players back in the day. Like, I remember I covered the World Series, like, back when I worked in news, like, 2003, I think. And, like, the baseball players weren't overly friendly. Like, they're kind of just whatever.
There was one in particular that played for the Rangers that was not nice. But he doesn't have the. He didn't have the reputation of being nice.
Morgan
So you expected it?
Eddie
Yeah, he was just kind of like.
Morgan
That makes it easier.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah, yeah. He kind of like. Yeah, I expected that from him. So that's how he is.
Morgan
Okay. That's a good one. I do have. Listen, first year, I have a favorite football player.
Eddie
You do? Yeah. Is it a Steeler?
Morgan
It is a Steeler, but you're not going to expect this.
Eddie
Aaron Rodgers.
Morgan
No, I actually don't like him. I'm not a fan. I have a lot of critiques about him.
Eddie
Who would it be?
Morgan
I don't think you're gonna guess him.
Eddie
And what position does he play? Is he offensive defense?
Morgan
He's offense.
Eddie
He's offense.
Morgan
And he's like a kind of an underdog.
Eddie
He's a receiver.
Morgan
I don't know the exact position. Does he catch the ball sometimes? I don't know, but he's not really supposed to.
Eddie
Sometimes he's not supposed to.
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
Who is it?
Morgan
Darnell Washington.
Eddie
Oh, yeah. Yeah. He's a receiver.
Morgan
He's my favorite because he's so, like, he can just plow through people. And if you hear me watch the game, I'm like, give the ball to DW Give it him.
Eddie
Oh, you call him DW now.
Morgan
Look at you, DW I even placed my first bet on him.
Eddie
Really? And you won? No. What was the bet?
Morgan
One time they didn't give him the ball.
Eddie
What was the bet? To score a touchdown. Yeah.
Morgan
Because he had been. Here's the thing with him. If you give him the ball, he scores a touchdown.
Eddie
Yeah. No, that's not true.
Morgan
Nearly every time. This guy has had a great year.
Eddie
I understand. But, Morgan, there are. There Are some players that have better percentages of when you give them the ball, they score a touchdown.
Morgan
That's fair.
Eddie
And they don't always score a touchdown.
Morgan
Okay, that's fair. But if I was looking at statistics from the last games that he had played, he had scored a bunch of touchdowns and nobody expected it.
Eddie
Are you watching these games? Like, like really watching?
Morgan
Yeah, what else am I going to do for three hours?
Eddie
I don't know. My wife just sits there. She's not really watching the game.
Morgan
I'll still get on my phone and do other things, but you can bet when dw because I'm paying attention.
Eddie
I'm not kidding.
Morgan
It's my favorite. Okay, last question before we jump into a break here. Did you hang the outdoor Christmas lights yourself this year? This is Christopher from California. And I don't know this reference. Am I miss seen something?
Eddie
Did I not do it last year? I've been looking at signs that like, there are signs all over town that say like, Christmas light installation. I want to be like, how much are they?
Morgan
Probably a lot. I think it has a lot of money to do it.
Eddie
I know, but like, it's just so cold. Like I haven't done it yet and.
Morgan
So wait, didn't you also have a giant.
Eddie
Oh yeah, the Santa.
Morgan
Is that up?
Eddie
No, nothing's out yet.
Morgan
That one's easy to put up though.
Eddie
Nothing's out yet because it's so cold. And like my wife. My wife wanted to do it last week and I'm like.
I just didn't want to because people were there were home. But like we had family in town. But like now it's freezing and I don't want to be outside like putting up lights because it's so freaking cold.
Morgan
Yeah, you see, this is where you just leave them up all year round and then you only turn them on when it's time.
Eddie
Yeah, but what happens when you plug it in and they don't turn on? That's happened to me before.
Morgan
Then you just gotta go find the one light that.
Eddie
You gotta find that one light. Are you a one light changer or do you go get a new. Just a new.
Morgan
Oh, well, I don't have. My house is like two stories. I don't have a big enough ladder to really put light lights on my house so that I don't worry about you don't do.
Eddie
You don't do any lights outside.
Morgan
I put some pretty snowflakes. I have my blow up Alfie. A little highland cow with the Santa hat on. I named him Alfie.
Eddie
Oh. Oh, he's not like a famous character. No. Got it. Okay.
Morgan
This is a blow up.
Eddie
And you expected me to know that? Got it. Okay.
Morgan
And some little Christmas lights on, like the bushes and stuff. So I do that. But inside for my Christmas trees, those I always throw away, I don't replace them. All right, well, we're gonna take a quick break and we'll be right back. Did you know Tide has been upgraded.
Eddie
To provide an even better clean in cold water?
Morgan
Tide is specifically designed to fight any stain you throw at it. Even in cold butter. Yep. Chocolate ice cream.
Eddie
Sure thing.
Morgan
Barbecue sauce. Tide's got you covered.
Eddie
You don't need to use warm water.
Morgan
Additionally, Tide pods let you confidently fight tough stains with new coldzyme technology.
Eddie
Just remember, if it's gotta be clean.
Morgan
It'S gotta be tied. Hello.
Eddie
Hello.
Morgan
I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of the podcast smart talks with IBM. I recently sat down with IBM's chairman.
Eddie
And CEO Arvind Krishna, and I asked.
Morgan
Him, how can companies use AI to.
Eddie
Its fullest potential to create smarter business? My one advice to them, pick areas you can scale. Don't pick the shiny little toys on the side. For example, if anybody has more than 10% of what they had for customer service 10 years ago, they're already five years behind. If anybody is not using AI to make their developers who write software 30% more productive today with the goal of being 70% more productive. Yeah. Wow. So we are not asking our clients to be the first experiment on it. We say you can leverage what we did. We are happy to bring out all our learnings, including what needs to change in the process. Because the biggest change is not technology. It's getting people to accept that there's a different way to do things.

This is gonna be a tough one for you, Eddie, because $5 million is yours right now, but you have to pick a different NFL team. Who are you picking? This is from another Eddie in St. Louis.
Eddie
Oh, $5 million is yours, but you.
Morgan
Have to choose somebody else besides the Cowboys.
Eddie
Okay.
Morgan
Could you do that in the first place?
Eddie
I can do that. I'll pick the Chiefs.
Morgan
Okay. Why the Chiefs?
Eddie
Because, I don't know, there's something about the Chiefs where, like, I can watch them and not hate them.
Morgan
And that's the only team you can watch and not hate.
Eddie
Yeah, but they're good, you know, like, they're good. It's rare that there's a team that's really good and that you just don't, like, hate them. Especially when you're a fan of another team.
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
So. And like, I don't mind Travis Kelsey. Like, I like Travis Kelsey.
Morgan
Yeah, you love Taylor Swift.
Eddie
I love Taylor Swift. I'm glad. I'm happy they're together. I'm happy they're getting married. All that Mahomes. His voice drives me a little crazy like.
This. That kind of drives me a little nuts. But like, I don't mind the Chiefs and they're super bowl champs. Like, and I don't mind them. I would do that for 5 million. Ooh, that's so hard to say. I feel like a sellout. But dude, 5 million. Everyone would do that.
Morgan
I'm pretty sure at $5 million, everyone would become a sellout.
Eddie
I know, but I'm such an open cowboys Fan that, like, I think everybody would just hate me for it for sure.
Morgan
But you'd be like, hate me? I got $5 million.
Eddie
Damn right. Check this out. I got five mil.
Morgan
I got swagged. I didn't even have to pay for it. It was like, $1.
Eddie
Gosh, 5 million. How cool would that be, right?
Morgan
Just hand it to you and say, no more Cowboys. That'd be a weird experience.
Eddie
Well, that would be hard. That would be hard. Sundays would be hard. We'll be like. My kids would be like, we're watching the Cowboys. Like, no, we're not, boys. We're watching the Chiefs now.
Morgan
They would be so confused.
Eddie
They would be confused until one day.
Morgan
They'Re an adult and, like, I understand why my dad did that.
Eddie
Yeah.
Morgan
You know?
Eddie
No. All I have to do is tell him 5 million. I think they would all understand.
Morgan
Yeah. But I don't know that they would grasp just how much money that is and why.
Eddie
I know.
Morgan
Versus your love for the Cowboys. You know what I mean?
Eddie
Yeah.
Morgan
Until you realize, oh, you need a lot of money to be a human.
Eddie
And, yeah, you guys are gonna go to college now because I changed. I changed NFL teams.
Morgan
That's so cool. What is your family's favorite Christmas tradition? We do have Christmas coming up.
Eddie
Our favorite Christmas tradition.
It's so weird. We always do, like, a pickle. Like, my mom. I don't know. My mom is big on ornaments, I guess.
Morgan
What kind of specific ornaments?
Eddie
Just anytime she sees, like, a cowboy's helmet, you know, she buys it and sends it. That's for your tree. And, like. Oh, cool. But we have, like. There's something about a traditionally dressed tree, right? With, like, the balls and the matching balls and, like, the.
Morgan
Was it called an aesthetic tree? Where it. Yeah, yeah. Certain colors, things match.
Eddie
But, man, my mom loves to throw some. Like, send us, like. I think she sent, like, a bottle of ranch dressing. You know what I mean? Like, Hidden Valley ranch dressing bottle. And it's like, the size of my hand.
Morgan
So do you now have another tree that has all these ornaments on it? No.
Eddie
So we have to sprinkle it on the.
Morgan
You're telling me you guys only have one tree?
Eddie
Yeah. You have more than one tree?
Morgan
Four trees.
Eddie
What? It's your house. House. Like, your house.
Morgan
Anywhere a tree can go, there's a tree.
Eddie
Where do you put, like, how.
Morgan
Stored in my garage. Because I love Christmas trees. I love Christmas.
Eddie
So every room you go into, there's a Christmas tree.
Morgan
Yeah. It started where it was just the tree in my living Room, which is the normal one. And then I put. I had to buy a new one when I moved into my house a few years ago because my small apartment one didn't quite work in that living room anymore. So I bought one for the. My bedroom because. Or I bought one from the living room and the one that used to be my part one went into my bedroom. And then this year, with my boyfriend moving in, he had a tree that came with him. But his tree, his poor tree's falling apart. And I was like, that's gonna go out on the deck and we'll put lights on it.
Eddie
It'll be cute. It's now an outside tree.
Morgan
Yeah, yeah. It's a fake one. But it was. I mean, you know, when they start to shed and I'm like, this. This needs to go outside. We. I'll keep it. And then we bought one together for like our. We created a Harry Potter tree that was our.
Eddie
And that's all Harry Potter themed.
Morgan
Yeah, completely everything. Even like the ornaments are different houses. And then we got specialty ornaments.
Eddie
I didn't know this about you.
Morgan
Oh, I love Christmas.
Eddie
I know that you love Christmas. I didn't know that you had multiple trees.
Morgan
Oh, yeah, yeah. Deck it all out. I even got a Harry Potter train that now goes around the bottom of the train too.
Eddie
Shot. That's the Harry Potter.
Morgan
Harry Potter tree.
Eddie
Amazing. Yeah, I'm not gonna judge you for that.
Morgan
But this is where you guys should have another tree. Even you can put it in one of the boys rooms. You put it in your guys room. Cause it's cute to have on warm lights.
Eddie
I feel like my wife would love that idea.
Morgan
And you can put these ornaments on it. And it's your mom's tree. And I think your mom would love it.
Eddie
All the ornaments go on.
Morgan
Yeah, it's like this is mom's tree.
Eddie
That. And then, you know, when the kids come home with the crafts or whatever, like macaroni trees or whatever.
Morgan
Yep, those could go on there.
Eddie
Yeah, all that can go on there. That's not a bad idea.
Morgan
And then you still get to have your aesthetic tree, but you also have the fun tree.
Eddie
So. So are you all plastic tree artificial.
Morgan
Or artificial fake ones? Yeah, I. We had. The reason being is because when I was really, really young, we had a fake, real tree. And we had a cat at the time.
Eddie
Caught on fire.
Morgan
No.
Eddie
Kill the cat. No.
Morgan
That would be horrible. I don't think I can even tell that story.
Eddie
I don't know where the story's going.
Morgan
The cat saw an ornament. Because my cat also loves to play with the ornaments on the bottom of my tree and swat them off.
Eddie
Oh, yeah.
Morgan
That's what cats like to do. This cat, her name was Sai, she jumped up middle of the tree, grabbed on with her claws. The whole tree came down.
Eddie
Oh.
Morgan
And I think there is something to be said about real trees because the smell. Like about outdoors, cats like to climb.
Eddie
Yeah. Yeah.
Morgan
Whereas the artificial trees, they don't smell anything. So they're interested. But not like, I want to climb it.
Eddie
I don't really know what that is. It's like, okay, that's not a tree.
Morgan
No. They'll just play with the balls that are on it instead. So that's why I remember when it.
Eddie
Was like, it was life changing for me when we bought our first artificial.
Morgan
Tree because you have to keep throwing it away.
Eddie
Yeah. We'd have to go someplace and buy the. You look for trees and then like, oh, man, it's too expensive. And then only have it for a month and then you got to get rid of it somewhere.
Morgan
Yeah. Like $200 for one of those.
Eddie
What?
Morgan
A real tree? Oh.
Eddie
Oh, yeah. No, no. They're not cheap. People think they're cheap. They are not cheap.
Morgan
And a fake tree costs that. You keep it 10 years.
Eddie
Totally. And it's got lights. Are. Does yours have lights built in it?
Morgan
No. That's one thing I don't do. Because then they go bad quicker. I've had my tree for like seven years now.
Eddie
Yeah.
Morgan
And it's still good because I put lights on it.
Eddie
I think I'm on year four of our tree that we bought maybe fourth.
Morgan
Year and still has lights and still work.
Eddie
Once in a while they flicker. But like. But they don't go out.
Morgan
You know, you haven't had to replace any yet.
Eddie
Knock on wood.
Morgan
Dang. That's lucky.
Eddie
Knock on wood. I know, I know. Fourth year of it. But like, it was so, like, life changing when that happened because we always had real trees. Always. You know, people love the experience of like, oh, we're go to the. The Christmas tree farm or whatever and like. Or the parking lot where the tent is and pick out.
Morgan
So you don't really get it. Like, you get to pick it out. That's about. It's not. But back in the day, I feel like you could cut it down.
Eddie
People still do that. People still do that.
Morgan
They still cut it down.
Eddie
There are farms. Yeah. That you can go out and like, cut your own tree. But I'm not. Again, I'm not I'm past that. I won't even let my kids know that exists because we're done. And so what's cool, too, is we leave all the ornaments on the. On the tree and we put in the box. What? Yeah, all we do is just fold up the, you know, the limbs put.
Morgan
In the box, and they don't break or anything.
Eddie
And then when it's Christmas time again, you just pull them out and the ornaments are already on there. Now you'll lose, like, five, you know, five or ten ornaments. You just put them back on.
Morgan
That's funny. You don't even take them down.
Eddie
No.
Morgan
Oh, yeah. The whole process of taking them down. I put them all back in every box.
Eddie
You do. Don't do that. You don't have to do that.
Morgan
I don't want to lose any ornaments.
Eddie
You won't. They'll all be in the box. I don't.
Morgan
I don't. I don't think I can do it. My ocd, I don't think would let me.
Eddie
You can't do it.
Morgan
It would be like, nope, everything's not in its place, and I have a million boxes.
Eddie
Funny. Yeah.
Morgan
That's crazy. I didn't know that about you.
Eddie
Yeah. Huh.
Morgan
Okay. Good Christmas traditions.
Eddie
Yeah. Good stuff.
Morgan
You opened a restaurant or a food truck. What's the name and signature dish? This is from Elle in Virginia.
Eddie
Restaurant or a food truck. Man, I would love to do chicken. I mean that ideally, I would love to do the chicken Producer Eddie Smoked chicken Man. Gosh, I would love that. And then, like. Yeah, like, I was.
Morgan
Would you be producer Eddie Smoke and Chain or just Eddie's?
Eddie
No, Producer Eddie. Yeah, I've already got a following. Like, I already got a. Yeah, but.
Morgan
Then they still know Eddie.
Eddie
Yeah, but there are millions of Eddie's. There's only one producer Eddie.
Morgan
I bet there's also a couple.
Eddie
There are. There are. Actually. There's a couple of, like, directors in India. There's like, a famous director from India named Eddie, and he's produced and, like, it's Producer Eddie. Yeah. I don't know if he's a producer. I guess he's a producer. Yeah. Yeah. There are music producers that are named Eddie. And I always get DMs of people thinking that, like, I'm a producer.
Morgan
Oh, a music producer. Movies.
Eddie
No music. And so they're like, check out my beats, man. Maybe you can do something. I'm like, yeah, not that kind of producer.
I'm barely. I'm barely a radio producer profile. And probably not.
Morgan
You have Nothing. You have some about music, but not really.
Eddie
Yeah. And does say. Yeah. I think on my. On my bio it says, like, I play music. So maybe that's it.
Morgan
Oh, that's probably why.
Eddie
But. But yeah, I'd go producer Eddie Smoked chicken man. And that would be my truck.
Morgan
And you'd sell whole chickens.
Eddie
It can be pieces. It can be quarters.
Morgan
Or would you do chicken sandwiches? Chicken pizza.
Eddie
Chicken could do all that, too. Base it all around chicken. Okay. But it's gotta be smoked chicken. And what I love about that is that the smoker will be going outside the truck at all times. So people just smell the smoke, and they're like, oh, we need to try that.
Morgan
There is smells. A big enticing of places.
Eddie
Big time. There's a place in town that sells barbecue, and it has a sign on it, and it's just like a little trailer.
Morgan
I know exactly what you're talking about.
Eddie
You don't.
Morgan
Yeah. Is it in Germantown or, like, north Nashville? I guess?
Eddie
No. No, it's not.
Morgan
Oh, then there's two of these places.
Eddie
Is it got, like a little picture of a pig on it? Yeah, it does.
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
Maybe it is Germantown. Does it say if we're smoking, we open?
Morgan
Yeah, it's the same way. This giant, like, round smoker that sits out there?
Eddie
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Maybe it is the same one.
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
I drive by all the time.
Morgan
You know what's crazy about it, though? Never seen it open.
Eddie
No, they're always smoking, which means they're open. True.
Morgan
So maybe you go at the hours they're open.
Eddie
So you drive by and you just see the barbecue pit out there, and it's never smoking.
Morgan
Never on.
Eddie
That's. Well, that's not good.
Morgan
I drove by there at least 20 times.
Eddie
So my son, he plays basketball. There's like a practice facility there in that neighborhood, and we drive by all the time, and we always joke like, you want a turkey leg? Cause they got a big picture of a turkey leg up there too.
Morgan
Have you ever stopped?
Eddie
Never. And he's always like, dad, one day we have to stop. But we're always, like, rushing, you know?
Morgan
Isn't that funny? I feel like there's always a place, like, if I think about my routes or day to day that I drive, I'll always see something and it'll be one particular place and I still haven't gone. But it's always on my mind every time I drive by.
Eddie
You should do it. I did it one time.
Morgan
For what?
Eddie
We always drive by a place called Bangkok Ville Some Chinese food, Thai.
Morgan
Thai food.
Eddie
Because Bangkok's Thai.
Morgan
Yeah, that makes more sense.
Eddie
And so. And I've always been like, I don't know. Like, it just looks.
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
You know, maybe someday I'll try it. And then one day we're like, let's go. Let's do it. Let's try Bangkok Ville.
Morgan
Was it because you were driving by and you had the time or you actually specifically.
Eddie
No, no, no. We were just like, let's get something. Let's go out to eat somewhere. And I said, I've always wanted to try this place.
Morgan
Was it good?
Eddie
It was delicious. It was really good. Interesting. Interesting experience, though. So this is kind of funny. The server comes up, up and to take our order, and she's like.
And she makes, like, the sign of the drink. Like, I drink order. I'm like, oh, maybe she's, like, mute or something.
Morgan
Deaf. Yeah, right. Sign language.
Eddie
Can't talk for whatever reason. And so we were like, okay, I'll take just water. And then, you know, like, we'll get a Coke. And we're pointing at the drinks on the menu and all that. And then she's like. And then she, like, like, goes and, like, gets her drinks, and then she comes back with her drinks, and she's like, okay, so if you guys are ready to order, like, I'm ready to take the order. And we were like, what the. Like, what. What is happening? Like, she literally was just, like, deaf mute. And now she's just talking. And then she finally realized that all our faces were very confused. And she goes, oh, I didn't explain. I had numbing mouthwash on in my mouth, and I couldn't spit it out. And so that's kind of.
Morgan
Why was she doing that at the cash register?
Eddie
I don't know. And we're all like, okay, all right. But other than that, the food was delicious.
Morgan
You're like, thanks for explaining, but I'm now more confused than I was before.
Eddie
Yes, we were just so confused because she was like, couldn't talk one time. And it comes back is like, yeah, what do you guys want? I recommend this dish.
Morgan
That's funny. That's a good story. Okay, well, we're wrapping up questions. Eddie, thanks for being here.
Eddie
Thanks, Morgan. Always fun.
Morgan
Be sure to check out part one, because Eddie and I always go on fun little tangents. You never know. We talk about Thanksgiving, holidays, stuff like that, and more fun life stories. So go check that out. And, Eddie, they can find you. Producer Eddie.
Eddie
Producer Eddie. Chicken.
Morgan
All of it, but not the producer in Dubai or Abu Dhabi or whatever you talked about.
Eddie
Not. Not that guy.
Morgan

The conversation is warm, personal, and sprinkled with holiday spirit, humorous childhood stories, and sports fandom.
The episode is casual, conversational, nostalgic, and peppered with humor and warmth. Eddie and Morgan riff easily, swap family anecdotes, and delight in differences in traditions, showing appreciation for their listeners’ curiosity through thoughtful (and tangential) answers.
