You haven't yet. But that brings an interesting point because I want to talk about Halloween first, though, because did you do anything different for Halloween this year, given you're in a newer situation?

Not really, no. Because my boyfriend, his. He didn't have the kids this year, so.

[Morgan]

Okay, gotcha. So did you two dress up or do anything fun for Halloween?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, my gosh. We really didn't. Like, this is the first year we haven't done anything. We, like, just walked around the neighborhood.

[Morgan]

Oh, you guys walked around? But you have any kids?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

We dressed up, but we just, like, walked. Yeah, it just kind of walk and.

[Morgan]

I don't know, just check out all the kids.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah. Basically feels a little weird. We went to a different neighborhood. We went to 12 south and it's like, cute, so. Oh, okay. Well, not like his neighborhood.

What were you guys dressed up as?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

We put on astronaut costumes.

[Morgan]

You see that? Like, so chill.

But that's.

Oh, we did it last year. I don't know. I just feel like this year was.

[Morgan]

Like, lames were outfit repeaters for this year's Halloween.

Yeah.

Did you bop around bars or anything or just.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

We did, yeah. Yeah, we went in and out of bars. The way I said that at the beginning sounded really creepy.

[Morgan]

I really thought you guys were walking around a neighborhood.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Around the neighborhood and watched the children. No, we went to like 12 south and like Embers was open play date, so we just went out of bars. But.

[Morgan]

Okay, that's a lot more than just, you know, typical walk, so that is cool. You did do nothing for Halloween.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

That's true.

[Morgan]

Yeah, I truly. We did nothing. I put on my dinosaur onesie. My boyfriend put on a cape that I had from one and we handed out candy to trick or treaters.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

That's awesome. Did you have a lot of kids?

[Morgan]

I nearly got rid of all my candy, which is a first, I think all the kids in my neighborhood, because when I had first moved in several years ago, there was no kids. And then there were babies. And now the babies are turning four and five, so it's like they've now grown. So now I'm starting to have kids in the neighborhood.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

That's fun.

[Morgan]

Yeah, so it was really fun. We had one kid show up that was an inflatable baseball bat, and he couldn't even come on the porch.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, my God. That's so cute. What a good idea. That was, like, my favorite part, like, is seeing all the costumes. It's so cute.

[Morgan]

People are so clever.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

They really are. I'm like, how did I not think of that?

[Morgan]

Let me tell you, the best one, though, was somebody came up. Obviously, Wicked's huge right now, but somebody came dressed up. Their whole family was Wicked, but the little boy was a tornado. And so they put all this, like, white. I don't know what the. It's like, looks like cotton.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah.

[Morgan]

And wrapped it all around and created, like, put lights in it. So he's like this little twisty tornado.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Kidding me.

[Morgan]

It was so cute.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

So cute. I know. See, I guess that's why I was like, we were just astronauts because people go, like, all out, and I'm like, dang it, why didn't I. Every year I'm like, I want next year I'm gonna go all out.

[Morgan]

But in all fairness, some people don't even dress up, so at least you did dress up.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah.

You know, you had something going.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah.

[Morgan]

There was a really cute kid that was nervous, and they were dressed as a dinosaur. And I was like, oh, my gosh. A fellow dino. And the kid got so excited. I was like, heck, yeah. I won one.

That is really cute. Yeah, I know. I love Halloween. And then we came home and just watched scary movies.

[Morgan]

You love scary movies?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yes.

Your favorite part of Halloween.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yes, absolutely. There were so many options because usually, you know me, like, I'd already seen Halloween, like, 10 times in October, and we didn't watch any scary movies until Halloween. Dang. I know. And that crazy.

Who are you? A new person?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

I know. I don't really like it because I love my scary movies.

[Morgan]

You do. But they're also hard to watch if there's kids around and stuff, too. So.

You have to be a little bit more careful about what's being on.

There's, like, the kids Carry movies on Netflix, but that's about it.

That's the go to obsessed with that movie.

I'm fine with it. Yeah, we listen. We were talking about this the other day, but we listen, like in the.

Soundtrack and I don't have kids in the gym. Like, it's so good.

It is a great. I love K pop music. I've always. Yeah, I've been a fan of K pop music. There's Blackpink was one that I've listened to for a while. And BT Bear, I wanted to say BTK, and that was not correct. I'm from Kansas, so BTK is very prevalent in my life. BTs. Yes.

Yeah.

So I've listened to both of them and then love the movie. And I am obsessed. Listen, Netflix has been killing with the soundtracks because not only was K pop Demon Hunters bomb, but nobody wants this soundtrack is also bomb.

Is it? Yes. I haven't watched it yet, but the soundtrack's good.

They have songs from Chris Stapleton, Ella Langley. They did one from Selena Gomez. They have one from Alicia Cara, and they have even songs on there from artists that I don't know. And I'm obsessed with.

See, I think Netflix is just killing it with the soundtracks lately. They're finally bringing it back and it's a big deal. I feel like they really. Movies in general have just not paid attention to the soundtrack. And I'm such a huge fan of a movie. More so if I really like the music.

I just want to know how, like, the K pop the movie, how it became so big. Like, how. Because I. That would never catch my eye. I was like, K Pop Demon Hunters. What is that?

K pop music in general, I think.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah. Yeah.

[Morgan]

I mean, and just that culture, anime culture, K pop, all of that culture is really massive. They have such a huge fan base already. So then you take anime K pop and like, create an animated movie. You know, you're going to automatically get people who like those things and then it becomes this big pop culture moment and everybody starts watching it. I think it was a combination of all those things combined. But yeah, it wasn't one. Like, I started to watch it. What's so funny about this is I started to watch it when my boyfriend was still at work and I was like, I don't think he's gonna like this. It was, like, 15 minutes in, and he gets home, and he's, like, sits on the couch. I'm hanging out, like, watching it, and he's, like, into it. We didn't leave the couch to watch the rest of this movie. And now he listens to the soundtrack just like I do.

Oh, my gosh.

We're both obsessed with it.

That is amazing.

It's so catchy, though. Like, maybe, you know, there's a purpose, and really, you know, demon is in the soundtrack, and they're taking our souls. That's the whole purpose.

That's what it is. That's what it. Oh, my gosh. No wonder we're, like, addicted to it. They're putting something. Oh, my God.

Yes. And for anybody who doesn't know, that's kind of the storyline of the show is like, they're demon hunters, and they're trying to stop the demons. So maybe that's what they're trying to do with us in the real world.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

It's just really good. I love the songs. Yeah, man, I got to go listen right after this. I love Golden.

[Morgan]

I saw a lot of people See. It's so good. I saw a lot of people dressed up as them, too, for Halloween.

Really? My boyfriend's kids, they were.

They did it. They did the kids, like, the pop.

Star, and then he was a demon. That's funny thing ever. It's so cute. She had, like, the purple hair.

Yep. And I saw so many moms trying to recreate the purple hair, and it was like, this whole big ordeal because it's pretty intense, like, combining hair, like purple hair with your normal hair and doing the braid. Right.

That's what they did.

Yeah, but now that it's, like, getting cold out, I'm better at that. Like, sitting on the couch when I'd rather just be curled up on the couch. When it's nice out, I want to be outside.

Are you becoming a little bit of a homebody?

I think so. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Yeah, I think I am. I'm more content with just, like, sitting there, you know, next to somebody watching something. It's. It's okay to me. And it's more fun when you're watching with someone after, like, oh, what's gonna happen? And you're like, oh, should we watch tonight? And he's like, oh, I can't. Like, I'm going to bed. I'm like, no, I really don't watch it. So we don't watch without each other.

Well, we're watching Love is Blind Funny.

I love it.

Yes. It's just so entertaining. It's just crazy.

Look at me. I'm realizing. Yeah, it's. You don't have to be doing something all the time. Yeah.

But also you. You're just in a new season of your life, too, in general. You have a lot of new things happening.

Not new in the sense of, like, new new, but newer than you. Five years ago, knew what was gonna happen.

No, but I did go out on a school night, went to Earnest at the Ryman, and that was really good.

It was amazing. Oh, my gosh. Like, he's so entertaining and so good, and it's just so country, you know, because he, like, had his, like, vest and boots and cowboy hat and all. His whole band, like, dresses. Super country.

How does he have that much energy? I never see him drinking water or anything. The whole time I'm like, I would need an energy drink. Because he goes all out and then he just like walks to the back and just lets. People are like grabbing him. Like that kind of annoyed me for him.

Watching him walk to the back. And he does this every show. Every show I've been to him, I think I've seen Keith Urban 7 times times now in my entire life. And every single show he does this where he walks in the crowd and man, just watching people just they like grab his chest.

They just like not. Nothing is off limits.

And I get people having their hands out because they're trying to get him to like touch it. And if they audit, like he walks and they kind of bris him. Fine. But man, when you see the hand grab.

You know what I mean? Like Just full grab, Full, full like full grab. Fingers are out and you're like, what.

It's so. It's interesting to watch. But yes, he is. Gosh, like anytime I get a chance to go to a show, I will be there in a heartbeat.

Me too. He's the all time best. Oh my gosh. Back in Wichita when I was probably in middle school, they did a contest and they had you like make a music video to like. I want to kiss a girl. I want to kiss a girl. I want to hold her tight.

And like my mom recorded me and I like found it the other day and it is the funny like the worst thing ever.

No, I Didn't win. I think I was in the top three. But you win like concert tickets. Okay. I didn't get it. But you make a music video and it was me like looking in the mirror, like putting on makeup. And then I walk over and I grab a guitar, like, and sing in a mic. It was actually like creative, but it was. It was just funny.

I feel like you need to post that.

I feel like that's a great throwback. I really do.

I remember that, like before I ever worked in radio, I would call. I was like one of those people who try and win tickets. I won tickets. One of the years I did win tickets to Keith Urban.

Yeah. That's so funny. Yeah. I did like a karaoke contest and I won three concert tickets.

One was like just karaoke.

Like. But that's when they did like fun, like contests.

Yeah. I mean, they made you be really interactive. Yeah. Now it's more social media driven. Social media is part of it. It's also funny too, because one year when Keith Irvin was in Wichita, he always brings people up on stage. Like one of the. Somebody in the audience and some form reversion. And one year he brought my sister up.

Oh.

And she was on stage and sang with him.

How like he just saw it, picked her out.

[Morgan]

We were in the pit area and we just happened to be right by the stage and he was looking and I think it was her birthday or somewhere around there. And we were like pointing at her and she went up there and danced and sang with him and. Hilarious.

Oh my gosh. That is really cool. Yeah. And then do you remember after shows they do like the after concert. Concert on the radio. Yes. Where you would get in and you could call in. I would always call in and be like, the concert was awesome.

Yes.

And then I'd hear myself. That's so weird. That was like in middle school.

[Morgan]

No, that was so much fun. Because you were on such a high from the concert and then they're playing all of their music.

And you're listening to all the songs again and you're still vibing. And then you call and like give your review of the show or whatever.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

That is so crazy. It's just very interesting because like when we Lived in Kansas, like concert. That was like a big deal. Like they didn't happen that often.

Yeah.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

You know, or. And that was like a birthday present to me.

[Morgan]

Exactly. And there wasn't a whole lot of people coming to town in general.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah. Like for.

For a famous celebrity or artist to come to town. Like a Tim McGraw or Keith Urban was like everybody in town was trying to go, yes.

And I remember like going to Dylan's, you know, it's like a Kroger, whatever grocery store. And you would like pick out your. Select a seat. Like you would pick it out in front of them. You're like, I want these right. When they go on sale. You're there at 10am I remember my mom would go, she's like, oh, I just want best available. And we get them like went the day they go on sale and then the concerts like next year. Yep. That's.

Or you would call. That was like the next phase was when you'd call, select a seat and you'd have to wait on hold or like get in the line.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah. You're like, they're like, what price range? Or whatever. And I'm like, I just want best available or 300 level. Oh my gosh. Crazy. So weird because like we always talk about how tickets go on sale and.

It'S like, well, now it's like you just go online. Hey, you know, kids will never know.

All right, so we are in the holiday season. Very exciting. And I want to know if you're looking forward to this year because you're living with your boyfriend, you get decorated for Christmas.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yes.

All the exciting things.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

I am looking forward to it. Yeah. It's really weird, like, for us, because he's gonna be here Christmas, and because his, like, mom and brother are coming into town, and he's gonna have the kids. But I always go home for Wichita or for Wichita. I always come home for Christmas to Wichita. And I don't know. He's kind of bummed that I'm not gonna be here, and I'm kind of bummed, but I don't. It's, like, tradition. I want to be with my family, too. It's hard.

[Morgan]

Yeah.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

And that's something that we're gonna have to think about in the future, you.

[Morgan]

Know, and work through. So are you gonna try and potentially stay here a little bit and then, like, maneuver that time a little differently than before?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah, probably. Yeah. Yeah. It's just. I know he really wants me to be here, like, Christmas Day, you know, because he has the kids. He has them every other year, and so he has them Christmas Day this year. But, yeah, so I'm. We're trying to navigate that. But, yeah, we're gonna decorate. We're gonna do all the things that's what's fun about when, you know, he has kids. So we get to do all the, like, everything.

[Morgan]

Well, and, like, especially at this point in Christmas, celebrating everything starts happening mid November.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, yeah.

[Morgan]

So you can do things for a whole month long. And I know it's hard because when it's attached to that, that specific day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, but when you can spend the entire month doing all kinds of Christmas things, it makes it a little bit easier for that day to be more fluctuating.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yes.

[Morgan]

If that makes sense. I know it's doesn't feel that way, especially because if you go on social media and everybody's with their people for the specific day and they post, but the reality is you have the entire month to celebrate. However, you can make it work and get all your things in and it will be just as special and exciting. So you guys can do all the things still, even though it may not specifically fall on that one coveted day.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

That's true. Yeah. And it's just crazy because it doesn't. I don't know, it doesn't feel like Christmas to me. How can it already be November? So I'm very, like, thrown off. It's like, oh, it's time to start doing, like, holiday things.

[Morgan]

It is. Listen, I've been ready to do it since before Halloween, and I know there's haters out there of that, but I have never decorated for Thanksgiving. And mind you, what's really interesting is they, like, stop doing pumpkin stuff and everything right after October. So pumpkin are part of Thanksgiving, but there's no longer really any pumpkins.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah, see, that's weird. Yeah. Usa, it's like it's associated just Halloween for pumpkins. Like Jack Cleaners. It's like. No, it's also like Thanksgiving.

[Morgan]

Like, even Trader Joe's only does their pumpkin stuff in September.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

They're like, gone there.

[Morgan]

It's one month and it's September. It's not even in October or November.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, my God.

[Morgan]

So how the heck am I gonna be in the holly jolly spirit for all the holidays if there's not even, like, decorations and options? I know. I don't know.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

And also, I just, like, love, you know, I love shopping and I love looking at Christmas decorations.

[Morgan]

Me too.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

But then I'm like, where do I put it? That's like, it's up two months and then where do you put it?

[Morgan]

Okay, let me tell you my. My situation this year. So obviously my boyfriend's living with me now, and so I am excited. We both really love Christmas. Both, like, big favorite holiday. And it's funny because I was like, I want my house to look like Christmas threw up in here. It's very much what I want to look like. And I've Never really wanted to do it by myself because I've already decorated. I already have my own traditions and stuff that I would do. And I already did all of those, but I was like, okay, well, you're new, so, like, we have to add some new things to make this different. And so I started. Oh, man. We spent, like, seven hours shopping the other day. We just went to all different kinds of stores, and I was just looking at all the different Christmas decorations, seeing what's out there, what's available, new ideas I could do. And we did come up with doing a Harry Potter tree.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, cute. And it's. I love that.

[Morgan]

Amazing. We're obsessed with it. And now I'm, like, on the hunt always for Harry Potter ornaments. I found a bunch.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Is that your main tree, like a big. Your big tree or you're doing, like, a little side?

[Morgan]

It's this side. So currently, in my living room, there's two Christmas trees. There's one out on the deck, and there's one in the bedroom.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Nice. Yeah.

[Morgan]

Yeah. We went a little all out, but one of the one on the deck is his that we added lights to. The one up in my room is my old one from my apartment that I've. I've had, and I've always kind of done that tree. But the one in the main one is still the one I've done. We just added. He had a few ornaments to add, and we, like, added a few little new details to it. But the main new one for both of us is the Harry Potter tree.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

That's cute. So you're gonna have a different one every year.

[Morgan]

Like, just continue to evolve. Harry Potter.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

That's cute. I love that. That's fun to do different trees.

[Morgan]

Oh, it was so much fun to decorate. And now. But now I'm like, okay, now I want to add on. How can I add? And I went a little crazy buying different things. So I've. I've gone. And now I have even have candy cane knobs and bows on my cabinets.

Oh, my gosh.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

I got those, too. I got the jingle bells. When you put on doorknobs, and when you open the door, it jingles.

Okay, that's going to be annoying by a weekend. Not gonna lie there.

I'll put it on one that's not used very, very much.

So it can just look pretty.

[Dr. Priyanka Wali]

Yeah.

Huh? Because that will be a lot. Like, every time somebody goes to the bathroom.

That's what I originally was gonna do was wreaths with bells that had them on all my cabinets. And then I got annoyed already. I. I did like one and I was over it. So then I turned them into little presents.

Oh, that's cute.

[Morgan]

Yes. And then I put candy cane knobs on all the little knobbies. They're like knob covers. I don't know. It was seen on Shark Tank. I've gone out a little bit too hard.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I don't know if we're gonna go that hard this year because we're still with his house, my house. I'm trying to get rid of stuff. So, like, buying more stuff right now, it's. It's a lot.

[Morgan]

Are you working to get rid of your house or have you made a decision on any of that?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

I'm gonna rent it out.

[Morgan]

Okay. Yeah, but so you could leave a bunch of your furniture. It's just getting rid of all your personal stuff, right?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

That's true. Yeah. Well, I got. You mean like furnished if I rented it.

[Morgan]

Yeah, you can rent it furnished if you just didn't want to deal with getting rid of your furniture.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

I know. Yeah. I just need some of it. I've just had forever that just needs to go. You know, I have an old futon that was my first, like, couch when I moved here because I didn't know if I was gonna stay. I was just getting, like, temporary. Like, I got a small table and then a futon, and I still have it.

[Morgan]

Living like a little college girl, basically.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

It's been like in the office in my house, and I'm just like, do I really need this still? So. But yeah.

[Morgan]

Well, at least the things that you want to keep, you could and offer it up. Otherwise you could put it in a storage unit. Yeah. If you wanted to keep it or just sell it all that's true.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

But yeah, he loves getting real trees. He tried last year to do just the artificial kind, which I like. I think they're pretty. But he was like, I can't do it. And he took it down. He had to get it. He was like. He's just always had that tradition, like the smell and just having a real tree. So.

[Morgan]

Okay, so see, here's my thing on real tree versus artificial tree one. I love the economy friendly, you know, good for the environment. Good for me to have my artificial tree. And I use it for 10 years.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah. Not cutting. Cutting down a tree every year.

[Morgan]

And I never get them pre lit because so then that's where the trade off is. Right. Because I'm buying lights every year, but I never get a pre lit. So then Those trees last for like 10, 15 years, which is awesome. And also I can't, because one year growing up, we had a real tree. It was the last year we ever had a real tree because we had a cat named Sai and she thought the tree was her personal climbing tree. So she jumped up on it one day towards the top, and then the whole thing came crashing down.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, my gosh. This is kind of like Christmas vacation.

[Morgan]

Very much so.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Hopefully it didn't end that way.

[Morgan]

It. No fires. Thankfully, there was no fires around, but broke a bunch of the ornaments still to this day. My parents, they were called snow babies. Do you ever know the snow baby ornaments?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

No. Maybe I've seen them.

[Morgan]

Very popular thing back in, I would say 90s, early 2000s. And my mom still has them. But some very small pieces, you can tell that got like a tip broken off and they were glued back together in this whole incident.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

It's called snow babies.

[Morgan]

Snow babies. Like those Snow babies? Yep. Why did I never.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

We never had those.

[Morgan]

Yeah, they were very popular back in the day. I don't know that they mostly places even do them now or if they're the same, if they've changed quality over the years.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

But I've never seen those.

[Morgan]

You've never seen snow babies?

[Wilmer Valderrama]

No.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Look at that one. They have rosy cheeks.

[Morgan]

Yeah. Yeah. And the ones that we have are. They're just all white now. They've obviously evolved to include some color on them.

[Dr. Priyanka Wali]

Wow.

I can't believe it. Yeah.

[Morgan]

Snow babies and. Yeah. But some of the snow babies have some damage from that one incident, so.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, my God.

So we don't do that. Real trees in my house. Ever since that moment, I've had a hard artificial tree my entire life.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Wow.

[Morgan]

And then obviously I have a cat now. So when I bought one, even before I had hazel, I went with the intention of like, there's probably gonna be a cat in my life someday. Let's. Let's probably not do real trees. And I hate bugs. I don't even like having plants in.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

My house because bugs. I don't wanna talk about bugs. Wait, no. Ignorance is bliss. I don't wanna know. I scroll past those videos where they show. I don't want to know.

[Morgan]

Yeah, lots of things can burrow in trees.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

No, No. I don't do bugs. Why? Why'd you do that? No. Fear unlocked.

[Morgan]

I'm telling you why I do artificial trees.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, no, no.

[Morgan]

Lots of reasons. And bugs are really the main culprit more than anything else.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

But they smell so good. The trees Smell delicious.

[Morgan]

You could put a fake evergreen scent. You could put like things in a pot on your oven every day and make the smell. There's make everything.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Now you don't like vacuuming up the pine needles. There's another fun part of the trees. Yeah, Once they die, they fall. No, no, no. The real ones. I was kidding. Because that is, that's another. That's a con of a real tree because like once it starts dying, there's like pine needles everywhere. Yeah, there is. You have to water it.

[Morgan]

Can't forget to water it. Mine would die in a week. I can't keep plants alive to save my life.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Same.

[Morgan]

I have tried. I have tried to baby these things and move them to the certain sunlight that they need. And I swear it's like my house is a graveyard for plants.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah, I just google like most, the easiest ones, like the least amount of care that they need. I. I get those.

[Morgan]

And what are those?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

I think like the snake plant.

[Morgan]

Okay, I had a snake plant. I killed it. Please, please give me others.

Succulents.

[Morgan]

Had succulents also killed those.

How do you kill succulents?

I don't know.

You know what I have kept alive? My sister gave it to me when she asked me to be her maid of honor. It was in my little like package she gave me. And they're these little moss balls.

Does it sound like a mothball?

Moss ball. So it's like a little green covered ball essentially. And you have it in this little jar and it floats on of water. So it's really funny is mine's still alive because it's still green. But I went to my sister's house when she had her baby a few months ago. I was looking at her moss ball that she got at the same time. This thing's huge. It's grown like five inches, you know, which is a lot for this little mothball. And mine hasn't grown at all.

So you haven't opened it. You don't do anything. You just have to sit there.

[Morgan]

I change out its water every month, but apparently that's still not enough for it to grow.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Is it getting sunlight?

[Morgan]

I don't know. My house is really weird location for different sunlight. So yeah, that might be it more than anything.

Find a sunlight spot. You can't even keep a moss.

I can't. Alive, I can't. But you know what? I can keep pets alive, so.

It was. It's really funny because my boyfriend, when he moved in, he had a bunch of plants that he brought with him because he loves plants.

No, surprisingly, his are still alive. But they had to go outside because we were figuring out a bunch of like where to put things. And some of them were toxic to hazel, so we had to be careful about what was inside the house. So we like put them outside and they all started to thrive and they all seem to be doing well, but he's worried they're all gonna die over the winter. And I was like, well, they now have bugs.

I know. See, that's the thing. No, I'm with you on that one. I wanna put like the front porch ones. I wanna bring em in, but I'm like, no, there's bug. That is their home now. Exactly. But I love them, but I can't bring them in. So then they die.

[Morgan]

Exactly. Well, and this is why my dad, in his garage, he puts. We call it his little weed plant, but it's not. It's like this little tent that he brings all of his outdoor plants inside and puts him in there. Like a little greenhouse.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, that's cute.

But we jokingly call it his weed tent because it looks like that, like straight up. That's what it looks like.

Wait, where does he keep it?

In the garage.

Or it could simply be the result of them overwintering in your house and dying from old age or the inability to escape in the spring.

They're dying of old age. They lived a long, happy, great life, and now true spring is coming.

Spiritually, it can symbolize the end of a cycle or the need to forgive yourself and move on.

Yeah. You know what I want to work on is how to make a decision easily. I struggle with that so much. I don't know why. I've always been that way, and it's so annoying.

I mean, it can just be the most simple thing, like, do you want to go to this restaurant or this restaurant? Oh, my God. I don't know. I don't know. Do you think I should? And then, like, even going to the Earnest concert, Like, I was like, oh, should we go? Or, oh, I need. Probably should stay home and work. Like, we're gonna get home late, but I really want to go. But what if, you know, it's just like a never ending thing in my head of, like, why can you not just, like, easily make a decision?

You're an overthinker.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah. Correct.

[Morgan]

So you're overanalyzing a lot of things. You have to, I would imagine, start putting yourself more in the present moment. Are you good at doing that? Do you know how to, like, bring yourself to a present moment?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah.

[Morgan]

Do you feel like when you're actually.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm better at, like, what if, like, I'm always like, what if this happens? What if I choose this? Then this is gonna happen.

[Morgan]

Oh, worst case scenario. Person.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yes, you.

It's like, have you ever done the Enneagram?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah, I forget what mine is.

I don't think so. I thought I was like, a one or a two.

Okay. The two is the helper. You just threw out, like, five, so. Okay, we're not going down.

Yep, you should probably redo it for this phase of your life.

Yeah, I would say, like, something that I've realized about my life and if I can speak from my experience to maybe help you with yours, is that I really struggled with always being in the past or in the future. I was ever thinking about yesterday and something that happened, or I was always thinking about what's to come or what I need to get done or what's happening. And I was really bad about keeping myself in this here and now moment. And today is the day I'm focusing on. And I've had to really, like, buckle down and do that because a lot of my health stuff is related to a lot of stress that I've allowed my body to kind of be under, because I don't handle. My body doesn't handle stress well. And I give my body a lot of stress all the time. Like, I hurry things all the time. I fit stuff in throughout My day, like so jam packed, so I don't have any time to breathe. I'm very notorious for that. So I've had to really start pulling back and learning to say no to things, learning to say, hey, you know, what about this day instead? And trying to create a day for me that isn't full of stressful factors so then I can then experience the day in a little bit more of a present headspace of like, this is all I have to get done today. I have three things that have to be done today. And then the rest of the day is mine and I can live it how I need to live it. And it took me a really long time. It's still something that I'm working on. Honestly. There's still days that I get caught up in my cycle and I'll be like, I don't know what's happening. I even had like a freak out the other day because we had had so many moments of like the. We had ordered a projector screen and it took seven tries to finally get one that was indented. And then I got this Christmas tree and when we opened it up, it was all the wrong pieces and I just was like, what? Everything felt like everything that could go wrong was going wrong was one of those days. One of those weeks really. And I had to literally, like, my boyfriend sat me down and he looked at me, he said, morgan, Remy and Hazel are doing really well right now. And I was like, yeah, they are. And he's like, isn't that really all that matters right now? And I was like, it is. Honestly, yes. Like all the rest of this doesn't matter. Everything that I'm freaking out about, everything I'm spiraling about, it doesn't actually matter.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah.

[Morgan]

And like took me back to here right now, to this day, and I feel like that's what helps a lot of us not do this. Where you're overthinking, overanalyzing. It's just like here and now. What do I want to do right now?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah.

[Morgan]

So like when you go to a restaurant, what do you want to do right now in that moment? What sounds good?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Soup.

[Morgan]

Okay, this one's probably going to have it.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

I know, it's so annoying.

[Morgan]

You have to actively do that though.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah, you do.

[Morgan]

It's not something I'm afraid that like, you know, I can just be like, yeah, here's all these things you have to like actively choose to not do that.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Uh huh. I mean, I've always been this way. My grandpa used to be like, Abby, just make a decision and don't look back. Because I would make one, and then I'd be like, oh, wait, was that the right one? Shoot. Wait, wait, wait. I don't know. I don't know if that was right. Maybe I should switch. I'm just move forward. And it's like, that is such a small thing. It is a dinner decision. Like, that is in. In the grand scheme of things, that is the smallest decision ever. But for some reason, it just feels so, like, heavy. Every decision I make just feels like.

[Morgan]

Why do you feel like it feels heavy?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

I don't know. I mean, dinner might be a little extreme, but, like, if there's two things happen, two events happening at once, you know, I don't know, or something, do.

[Morgan]

You feel like it has.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Describe or think of, like, an example exact moment where I'm like, oh, my gosh, what do I do?

[Morgan]

Do you feel like it has any attachment to what people might think?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah, probably. Yeah, I would say, okay, we're in therapy right now. We're in the deep therapy.

[Morgan]

We don't have to stay in therapy. We don't have to stay in therapy ever.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Talk about, how did we even get on this?

[Morgan]

You said it was something you're wanting to change.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Decision making just becoming more, like, quick.

[Morgan]

I think you can, but you have to actively choose it. It's just anything in life, it feels like is you have to actively choose to. To make a change, to do something different. You have to genuinely be like, it's like looking at all my diet stuff. Like, five years ago, I'd been like, you can't do that. There's no possibility of that happening. But one day I woke up and I said, no, I have to. And it did. You know what I mean? Like, but you have to, like, turn that switch to say, I'm gonna do differently.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Mm.

[Morgan]

So that's true. But that's up to you. If you want to, you don't ever have to. You can just keep contemplating different restaurants.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

No, I'd love to not be an overthinker. It's actually. Yeah, it's the worst.

[Morgan]

Is not the worst. There's much worse things in life, as I've learned.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

True. That's true. So.

[Morgan]

But if it's something you want to work on. Yeah, you can. You're capable of it.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Yeah. You just have to be. You definitely do have to be active and just be like, okay, Abby, in this moment, it's not a big deal. Just pick one and go like, that's what I need to start putting, you know, just getting through my head.

[Morgan]

Yes. And you can. I believe this can happen. Okay. I want to end with something that we're both currently obsessed with. It can be anything. And the reason I'm bringing this to you. Speaking of my diet and cleanse, I've obviously, I'm gluten free and I can. I can't eat dairy and stuff. So I've been trying to find just my new way of life, and I'm obsessed. There is these Siete chips that are Mexican street corn tortilla chips, and they taste like cool ranch Doritos.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, my gosh.

[Morgan]

And they're my favorite thing ever.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, that sounds so good right now.

[Morgan]

I won't say that they're healthy because it's still like, it's a snack item and you're eating chips. This is not necessarily the best whole food for you in general, but it's my good option when I need a little chip and I can't have the other chips and tastes like a cool ranch Dorito.

Oh, my. That's. Well, I love cool Ranch. I love white cheddar and cheddar in general.

White cheddar, cheddar, cheddar, cheddar. Everything green.

But those sound good. I didn't notice they had, like, different flavors for salads.

I have a bunch of different flavors. Big fan of shopping at Sprouts. That's where I've been going lately. That's really been helping me through my whole experience lately. Because I can find different options. It's hard to find other options. I used to be a Kroger or Publix shopper, and I. And now I can't, so.

Really?

[Morgan]

Oh, it's. You can find options. It's just harder. It's harder to find clean ingredients and clean things. Sprouts is a little bit easier. Supposed to be this, like, farmer's market vibe in them, but yeah, they have. Siete has a bunch. I even bought some cinnamon ones. Cinnamon?

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Cinnamon.

[Morgan]

They kind of taste like cinnamon twists from Taco Bell.

[Abby Lee Anderson]

Oh, that sounds good.

Oh, my gosh. So I have an obsession that I've been obsessed with lately. It's food, too.

But it is Granny Smith apples.

And it's just like the most delicious thing ever. That combo. I don't know why.

So almond butter with Greek yogurt.

And then just kind of what I do is I just cut up the. The apple in slices. And then I just put like a dollop, a spoonful of the butter, the almond butter, and then a spoonful of the vanilla. And I just kind of like dip each one.

Back and forth. Or you can dip one and then dip a little, the other. I don't know why. It's just such a good, like, dessert.

I have a way for you to make this even a step up.

So almond butter, put in a bowl, heat it up so it's a little bit more melty. Add the Greek yogurt to it because you get it all mixed in really good together. And then dip your apple, kind of like a chocolate covered apple in this, like, cover it, put them on parchment paper on a pan and put them in the freezer or fridge, probably. Fridge is probably better with apples in the fridge for like 20 minutes.

Oh, my gosh. My mind is blown. I'm so excited.

And then you have an almond butter, Greek yogurt covered apple.

I just, I. I had to have it. The craving was so I don't know.
