Abby Lee Anderson
Hi.
Andrea Gunning
How you feeling?
Abby Lee Anderson
I'm good, doing good. How are you?
Andrea Gunning
We did get a lot of questions on boyfriend stuff. So go check out part one. We talked all about Abby's big news that she shared in life lately and stuff that's going on. So go check all of that out on part one. Cause you guys send a lot of questions about that. But I try and like separate the two. And I'd already planned to talk. I've been waiting for so long to talk to Abby about the stuff that she finally shared because I've known about it since the beginning. I know. And I would like wanna ask you. And I knew that I couldn't. So I was just like, I just gonna sit here and wait.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know. Cause like every week or every time I'm on with best bits or with you. Hello. I'm like, I'll have an update soon. I'll have an update soon. I'll let you know.
Andrea Gunning
Yep.
Abby Lee Anderson
So I finally said it.
Andrea Gunning
You finally said it. Which means that now we talked about it on part one, which I've been waiting for. So go check that out. Starting with some shout outs. April said my favorite combo. I think she's talking about.
Abby Lee Anderson
Look at us.
Andrea Gunning
Look at us. Yalls biggest cheerleader. I'm a mom of four. And no, you have found your person.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, that's sweet. Oh, thank you.
Andrea Gunning
Super cute. Congrats on trivia wins. I want to hear more from Abby Lisa in California.
Abby Lee Anderson
Thank you.
Andrea Gunning
You're crushing trivial. I need to go to your brain lady because.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, you should also.
Andrea Gunning
I just. I'm sorry to give up. My questions are always. Feel like they're hard and I just kind of give up.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know some of them are like really hard, like out of nowhere. And then some are so easy that I'm like, how do you even miss that?
Andrea Gunning
Talk about it. Same way. It's also. I always know it after the fact.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yes. Oh, yeah, for sure.
Andrea Gunning
Every time I'm like, yeah, that was in my brain somewhere. I just didn't have enough time to access it. It's like, you know when you go through that. Your folder.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
I don't have a lot of time for that. So.
Abby Lee Anderson
You know what I also feel like is all you guys always get ones that I know, and then I. Mine's the only one I don't know.
Andrea Gunning
Same.
Abby Lee Anderson
I'm like, that one was easy. That was. And wait, I knew.
Andrea Gunning
I think Mike is really good, really good at picking out the categories we're not good at and making sure we have questions in it.
Abby Lee Anderson
Whenever it's like movies, I'm like, oh, bye.
Andrea Gunning
I know. Or I'm like, whenever it's geography. See ya. Yeah, sports. Bye. All right. As a stepmom bio mom, thank you for being you. A very sweet.
Abby Lee Anderson
Thank you.
Andrea Gunning
Jaylen from Fort Worth would like to know if we go to karaoke bars often.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, I do.
Andrea Gunning
A lot.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, I would say twice a month.
Andrea Gunning
Okay.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, so that is. That kind of.
Andrea Gunning
That's pretty frequent. And you sing every time.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, so does my boyfriend. Can we do duets?
Andrea Gunning
What is your guys favorite duets do together?
Abby Lee Anderson
Picture Cheryl Crow and Kid Rock.
Andrea Gunning
Do you get like super breathy and then he goes deep like Kid Rock.
Abby Lee Anderson
I ain't heard from. Oh, no, that's the. That's her part. Girls love that part. I ain't heard from you in three damn days.
Andrea Gunning
Nights. Days.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, days, nights, nights. Wait, three nights.
Andrea Gunning
Okay, that would make more sense.
Abby Lee Anderson
I do a lot of Miranda Lambert too.
Andrea Gunning
Okay. Favorite Miranda Lambert karaoke song.
Abby Lee Anderson
Kerosene or gunpowder and lid. Oh, I love Sassy.
Andrea Gunning
When I used to go on cruises growing up with my family, I would always go to the karaoke bar because that was back when, you know, I wanted to be a singer. My parents would always get really embarrassed, but I'd do it every time we went on a cruise.
Abby Lee Anderson
No way.
Andrea Gunning
And I'd always use like kerosene or gunpowder. It's just like this little girl who was like 10 years old. I was like, gunpowder and lead.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, I'm going home Going to load.
Andrea Gunning
My shotgun Waiting by the door Not a cigarette. And they're just like, what? Why? Who is she? And that was the thing. So I get it.
Abby Lee Anderson
I have a video of this. I really want to see it.
Andrea Gunning
I think once upon a time.
Abby Lee Anderson
No, I love watching kids.
Andrea Gunning
It was so bad. Listen, I was really good at harmonizing.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, so you're harmonizing each other.
Andrea Gunning
Karaoke and then I learned in karaoke, you don't get to harmonize. You just have the. Have the beat by yourself. And I never could find the beat by myself.
Abby Lee Anderson
You're trying to harmonize with the harmonies on the track.
Andrea Gunning
And I'd be like, okay. Cause, like, I was really good in choir, and I would get solos in choir and stuff, because I could really fit in well with that. So that's why I thought I was a really good singer. And then I learned a lot. So, no, Jalen, I don't go to a lot of karaoke bars, but Drunk Morgan will have a great time. And I did. The last karaoke I sang was when I was dressed up as Sabrina Carpenter on Halloween. And I went and I sang, Isn't that me? I know. Isn't that sweet? I guess so. Espresso.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, yeah, Yeah, I was gonna. I was thinking of the other one. The.
Andrea Gunning
I wanted one of the other ones, but that was, like, one of the only ones on the thing, so I did espresso.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, that's a good one. Oh, that's fun.
Andrea Gunning
And I was dressed up as Sabrina, so, you know, it was basically her.
Abby Lee Anderson
You, like, fully went all in on the. On the costume.
Andrea Gunning
It was her.
Abby Lee Anderson
That's awesome.
Andrea Gunning
So it was, like, part of my costume that night was to go sing, and I had a sparkly mic in my hand, and then the actual mic. Don't ask me why. I also took my mic. That didn't work up. Yeah. So that was the last time I went. But, yeah, you'll always find Abby at him. She loves a karaoke. Are you planning on making more music in the near future, Max from Massachusetts?
Abby Lee Anderson
Yes, I do one song a year.
Andrea Gunning
When's your last song come out? Isn't it. Wasn't it 2023?
Abby Lee Anderson
I think it was 2024. Ex. Ex girl boyfriend. What's the name of.
Andrea Gunning
Well, I think. I think we're the reason. I feel like it was 2023. I feel like we're past the year, though.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, shoot.
Andrea Gunning
I feel like you put it out, like, early 2024.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, my gosh. Are you serious?
Andrea Gunning
Feels like it. Let me Google Abby.
Abby Lee Anderson
Ex boyfriend.
Andrea Gunning
Ex boyfriend material.
Abby Lee Anderson
It's not even coming up.
Andrea Gunning
Bobby Bones show. I always look at Google because in my blogs pop up. Oh, no, you're right.
Abby Lee Anderson
Okay.
Andrea Gunning
September, 2024.
Abby Lee Anderson
Okay, so it'll be September.
Andrea Gunning
Did it feel like it was, like, January of last year?
Abby Lee Anderson
I don't know, because I. Yeah, I knew it was around my birthday, but I was like, oh, my gosh. Was it? Whoa. Yeah. So this year I'll have another one out.
Andrea Gunning
Are you gonna drop one on September? In September?
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah. Because that's when, hey, their hometown came out. Was really September the year before.
Andrea Gunning
So this is gonna be a thing. Every September you drop a new song.
Abby Lee Anderson
I needed that's.
Andrea Gunning
Is that your Easter egg? Every September.
Abby Lee Anderson
Be ready. I'll be dropping hints pretty soon.
Andrea Gunning
Are you working on another one, though?
Abby Lee Anderson
No. Okay.
Andrea Gunning
So we might not get one this year.
Abby Lee Anderson
No, I need to. It's. I know I have excuses, but I do work a lot for this job. I do a lot more than answer the phones and I don't know if people really know that. And so a lot of like, my creativity and stuff goes into what I'm doing for this job and sometimes I feel a little drained and so I put off stuff that I want to do for myself. So that's something I need to work on too. I get that because I would like.
Andrea Gunning
To, you know, it's important and I. But I get it also, you know, your job is how you survive. And it's. I don't think we give a lot of credit to people working like full time jobs and then you try and actually pursue other passions. It takes a lot of energy. And yeah, this job already requires a lot of creative energy because I work.
Abby Lee Anderson
For the podcast network too, producing. So that's also like, if I'm not here, I'm doing that also. So I put my singing on the back burner.
Andrea Gunning
I know, but that's why you probably go to karaoke bars and get your fill.
Abby Lee Anderson
I think that is what it is, honestly.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah, that's helpful. At least you're still singing. That's what matters.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
What advice would you give to those that are single? Andy in Spokane, Washington, that are single. Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
I would say just don't put so much, like pressure on yourself to find somebody. Like, I. I feel like it. You'll find them eventually, like in the right. Whether it's in real life or on a dating app. Like, don't give up though, you know, like, don't be like, oh my gosh, I'm just done with this because I feel like if you are patient and you like, know what you're looking for and you don't settle, like, you will eventually find the one, which I know is so hard. Like, the waiting. It's just, it's like a lot. I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm never gonna find the guy.
Andrea Gunning
You know, I will admit the thing that you just said is the thing that pissed me off the most when I was single.
Abby Lee Anderson
Really?
Andrea Gunning
Everybody telling me, you'll find it.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know, just be patient.
Andrea Gunning
It's not wrong. But it would piss me off every time.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know. No, that is really annoying. But like, I believe it.
Andrea Gunning
I know. And also I think, I think you can believe it once you're in it and once you've gotten to that point.
Abby Lee Anderson
But also have fun in the single. Oh my gosh, like, you can do whatever you want.
Andrea Gunning
It's true. It's your time to be single and do all the things.
Abby Lee Anderson
Maybe try something new. I'm just trying to think of, like, good advice. Try something new where you can meet someone. You know, like do a. Take club volleyball or.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah, it's great. Co ed sports are a great way to meet people.
Abby Lee Anderson
Take a class, art class, Go rock climbing. Be assertive too. Like, I think I never did that when I was single. I never would see a cute guy and be like, go up and talk to him. And then I'm like, why not? Like, what's the worst that can happen? He's just like, oh, I have a girlfriend. Or that's okay, I'm not interested, then, okay, bye. But like, what's the. Just be like, oh, do you come here often?
Andrea Gunning
You come here often?
Abby Lee Anderson
Is that typical?
Andrea Gunning
Don't ask that question. But I do agree with the be assertive. I also think it's important to be intentional if you truly want to date. It can be very easy to get frustrated with dating and the way that dating is today. But if you are intentional and you're purposefully dating and you know what you want, I think you have less moments of being upset and less frustration, which then in turn makes you more fun to date. Because if all you feel and think is, I'm never gonna meet somebody and I'm never gonna do this, this is never gonna work out, why am I putting in the effort? Then that's what you're gonna receive back. So be intentional, but also go on dates. Like genuinely have fun dating. I loved dating. I don't know how many people I talk to or meet and they're just like, I don't wanna go on dates, I don't wanna do this. It's not. I have so many funny, hilarious, great stories from my twenties from going on dates.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, me too. I'm scarred from a lot of them. A lot of them, like, did not end well.
Andrea Gunning
But that's also the point is that you also have bad stories too, right?
Abby Lee Anderson
That's true. And then, yeah, they're very entertaining to tell. Exactly.
Andrea Gunning
And then you always have funny stories to share.
Bobby Bones
So.
Andrea Gunning
So.
Abby Lee Anderson
And you learn a lot about yourself. What you don't want, what you do want. You see these things that'll help you, like, translate into an actual healthy relationship.
Andrea Gunning
Yes. It's some good. We like. It is. We did good.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah. I had to go beyond the don't.
Andrea Gunning
You know, I had to push you mostly because I just remember very vividly and that was not very long ago for me. So traveling with a dog tips places to stay, what to do when you can't bring them. Jenna.
Abby Lee Anderson
Ooh, that's a good. That's for you. Because you.
Andrea Gunning
I do. I travel with Remy a lot. So whenever I travel with her, I typically play. Play. I typically stay in Airbnbs VRBOs because if I have to leave Remy behind to go do an activity, she'll bark. So hotels don't really work out. I'll only do hotels if she's gonna be with me the whole time. And I also find just cool places I look in advance of cool dog friendly cities, cool things to do with dogs. You'd be surprised how many things are pet friendly. It's also easier to travel in the nicer months. Spring spa, spring spa, spring, summer, fall, because you can be outside with them. You can sit on patios and stuff like that. So winter's a little bit tougher. But if you're gonna do a staycation, those are fun. And whenever I can't bring her, I have people like Abby or I have friends come over and stay with them and hang out, which is harder. I mean, like, requiring people to come and stay makes it a little bit difficult. But that's why I made it a priority to teach Remy and Hazel now how to travel with me, because it made my life easier with being able to travel than being able to come. So that's what we got. Little break and we'll be back with some more. Okay. I'm Andrea Gunning, host of the podcast Betrayal Police. Lt. Joel Kern used his badge to fool everyone, most of all his wife, Caroline.
Abby Lee Anderson
He texted, I've ruined our lives.
Bobby Bones
You're going to want to divorce me.
Andrea Gunning
Caroline's husband was living another life behind the scenes. He betrayed his oath to his family and to his community.
Bobby Bones
She said you left bruises, pulled her hair, that type of thing. No.
Andrea Gunning
How far would Joel go to cover up what he'd done?
Bobby Bones
You're unable to keep track of all your lies, and quite frankly, I question how many other women may bring forward allegations in the future.
Andrea Gunning
This season of Betrayal investigates one officer's decades of deception. Lies that left those closest to him.
Bobby Bones
Questioning everything they thought they knew.

The American west with Dan Flores is the latest show from the Meat Eater Podcast Network. Hosted by me, writer and historian Dan Flores and brought to you by Velvet Buck, this podcast looks at a West available nowhere else. Each episode I'll be diving into some of the lesser known histories of the West. I'll then be joined in conversation by guests such as Western historian Dr. Randall Williams and best selling author and Meat Eater founder Stephen Rinella. I'll correct my kids now and then where they'll say when cave people were here. And I'll say it seems like the Ice Age people that were here didn't have a real affinity for caves. So join me starting Tuesday, May 6th where we'll delve into stories of the west and come to understand how it helps inform the ways in which we experience the region today. Listen to the American west with Dan Flores on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

Abby Lee Anderson
But anything can be used as a.
Bobby Bones
Tool of avoidance with women, any kind.
Andrea Gunning
Of thing where there might be this underlying edge of self sacrifice as martyrdom.
Abby Lee Anderson
If you're never filling, you're telling yourself.
Bobby Bones
A story and you're actually avoiding what.
Andrea Gunning
You should be doing, your life at the end of it is still going to be a sum of your experiences. And so you got to get in, you got to get your hands dirty. Listen to a really good cry on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

I know a lot of cops and they get asked all the time, have you ever had to shoot your gun? Sometimes the answer is yes. But there's a company dedicated to a future where the answer will always be no. Across the country, cops called this Taser the Revolution. But not everyone was convinced it was that simple. Cops believed everything that Taser told them from Lava for good and the team that brought you Bone Valley comes a story about what happened when a multi billion dollar company dedicated itself to one visionary mission? This is Absolute season one, Taser Incorporated.
Andrea Gunning
I get right back there and it's bad.
Bobby Bones
It's really, really, really bad. Listen to new episodes of Absolute Season 1, Taser Incorporated on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Binge episodes 1, 2 and 3 on May 21 and episodes 4, 5 and 6 on June 4 ad free at Lava for Good plus on Apple Podcasts. I'm Clayton English. I'm Greg Lodd. And this is season two of the War on Drugs podcast. Sir, we are back in a big way. In a very big way. Real people, real perspectives. This is kind of star studded a little bit, man. We got Ricky Williams, NFL player, Heisman Trophy winner. It's just the compassionate choice to allow players all reasonable means to care for themselves. Music star Marcus King, John Osborne from Brothers Osborne. We have this misunderstanding of what this quote unquote, drug fans Benny the Butcher, Brent Smith from Shinedown got. Be real from Cypress Hill, NHL enforcer Riley Cote, Marine Corvette, MMA fighter Liz Caramouche. What we're doing now isn't working, and we need to change things. Stories matter and it brings a face to them. It makes it real. It really does. It makes it real. Listen to new episodes of the War on Drugs podcast. Season two on the iHeartRadio. Most embarrassing moments from growing up. Miguel from Amarillo. Amarillo by morning. I can't. I can't. I cannot find the beat without somebody else. Now that you've done it. Now I can. Anyways, go on.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, Most embarrassing moment. Mine would definitely have to be. Well, one time at prom, I fell down the stairs in front of everybody. Oh, it was like a stair entrance. How they, like, announce you, you know, and then you walk down.
Andrea Gunning
Wait, you had like a. A Cinderella story moment where you get announced at the top of the stairs. What, did you go to a royal school? No, we never got announced. It wrong. You did it.
Abby Lee Anderson
No, it was always like a special thing.
Andrea Gunning
No, everybody just walked in and ran to the dance floor.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, for some reason they did do that. It was like a tradition. Because they did.
Andrea Gunning
Abby, this is back where we go. You were in the bougie life and I was not. I went to a public school.
Abby Lee Anderson
I was not in the bougie life.
Andrea Gunning
You were getting announced like a Royal.
Abby Lee Anderson
They just, like, did that. It was tradition.
Andrea Gunning
It's cool. It's a cool tradition. But still, for sure, you were bougie.
Abby Lee Anderson
It was cool.
Andrea Gunning
They didn't give a crap about us. They were just like, okay.
Abby Lee Anderson
I thought all proms did that. Honestly, I've seen videos.
Andrea Gunning
Isn't that funny how you grew up with one certain way and then you think everybody else does it?
Abby Lee Anderson
Where were yours at?
Andrea Gunning
Like, at our school, in our gym.
Abby Lee Anderson
Okay.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah, we had a. I mean, there was one prom. We spent one of our proms in a tornado.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, man.
Andrea Gunning
Very Kansas.
Abby Lee Anderson
That's so Kansas. Yeah. Wow. Oh, my gosh.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
But, yeah, I fell down in, like, the cur stairs, kind of curved at the end, so the one of the stairs was shorter or less, like.
Andrea Gunning
And you just tripped and face landed.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, I just kind of, like, rolled down. And I remember looking up and just seeing everybody, like, looking.
Andrea Gunning
Were they laughing or were they just more in shock that it happened?
Abby Lee Anderson
More in shock. There were a few chuckles, but I kind of laughed it off. I think I kind of, like, cut that out of my brain.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
Like, oh, that was embarrassing. I had a strapless dress on, too. Ah, that could have been really bad.
Andrea Gunning
Oh, yeah, that could have. You could have had a boob slip, and then it would have been truly embarrassing.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh. Oh. I would have never lived that down.
Andrea Gunning
Never recovered.
Abby Lee Anderson
No, I think I would have just turned around, like, left. Bye, guys.
Andrea Gunning
Nice to meet you guys. See you later.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Another embarrassing that really was for me is my teeth were so crooked, like. Like a whole nother. I don't think anybody has ever had teeth as crooked because my dad has huge teeth, and then my mom has a small mouth, so it was, like, trying to fit all these teeth, and they were all going, like, every direction.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
But I was so confident. I just smiled all the time, like, just. And I remember my grandma being like, oh, my gosh. Don't smile that big.
Andrea Gunning
Grandma said that to you?
Abby Lee Anderson
So I was Annie in. In the musical Annie, and I had to stand on the chair. Oh, my God.
Andrea Gunning
This is hilarious. I have a point from that. Keep going.
Abby Lee Anderson
Remember it. Okay. So I was standing on the chair, and, like, Daddy Warbucks looks up at me. And my grandma, she was kidding. Like, she's no longer here. Rest in peace. But she'd be like. She's like, oh, my gosh. I wonder what Daddy Warbucks thought of your teeth when he looked up at you.
Andrea Gunning
Well, you were an orphan in that.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, I was like, I don't know.
Andrea Gunning
Oh, my gosh.
Abby Lee Anderson
But they were so bad. And I look back at pictures and I'm embarrassed of every picture I had. I got them in middle school, but.
Andrea Gunning
That'S because somebody was telling you in your head that you should, like, don't smile.
Abby Lee Anderson
No, I didn't care. I was like, no, I love my teeth. They make me me. But now I'm like, oh. I look back, it was bad.
Andrea Gunning
You have secondhand embarrassment now. But you didn't then, right?
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah, yeah, but I'm. People were making fun of me behind my back. I'm sure. Like, I remember they would just, like, look at my mouth and like, kind of go cross eyed, like, Abby.
Andrea Gunning
That's so sad.
Abby Lee Anderson
It's so sad.
Andrea Gunning
I love braces, though. You got braces?
Abby Lee Anderson
Thank you. Braces. Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
They were on three.
Andrea Gunning
I don't know if you just. Maybe you grew into them too.
Abby Lee Anderson
You think?
Andrea Gunning
No, I mean, like, your teeth grow as you grow. I didn't mean that in a bad way.
Abby Lee Anderson
Like, literally. Wait, you had. You had braces? I'm just kidding.
Andrea Gunning
Like, you. You grow like your. Your body grows. I thought that was a thing. Maybe I'm wrong.
Abby Lee Anderson
Not when your teeth are going every direction.
Andrea Gunning
Well, listen, I also had a. I had a gap in my. The side of my smile. For four years, I had a tooth that was missing. Like, it fell out. And the tooth, the adult tooth that was supposed to come down never came down.
Abby Lee Anderson
Did you have to have a little. You wore a retainer with the, like the fake tooth.
Andrea Gunning
I had a. I had a screw thing on the top and they were literally pulling it down by a chain. For four years. That sucker took to come down.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, my God.
Andrea Gunning
So in half of my high school photos, I would always smile with this side of my face, which is the right side of my face because it didn't have the hole. And then anytime I was in the. Out there, I'd stick my tongue through it. So I had all these pictures where I was smiling and my tongue sticking out because I was trying to fill the hole in my mouth.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, my God. Embrace it. Embrace it.
Andrea Gunning
I did not embrace it.
Abby Lee Anderson
I hated it. Aw.
Andrea Gunning
I had a hole.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
I literally just tongue and everything. And I was like, I think that's still now. Why? Like, I'll smile sometimes and my tongue's there. Cause it's just so useful just to have it. Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
That's funny.
Andrea Gunning
So funny about Annie.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
Wichita theater. I auditioned for Annie. My sister and I both did.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
I was just an orphan, though. I Didn't make it to Annie.
Abby Lee Anderson
You didn't get Annie?
Andrea Gunning
I. You know, it's a hard knock life. I was just singing in the. In the chorus as one of the orphans. Hilarious that you were Annie.
Abby Lee Anderson
That is really funny.
Andrea Gunning
And then I even tried an audition for wizard of Oz. I was a flying monkey.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, my gosh. That's amazing. Oh, that's awesome.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah, I really tried, you know.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
And I got shot down a lot. So you would have thought that older me would be like, no, this is not meant for you.
Abby Lee Anderson
So they gave you parts with no words or no lines.
Andrea Gunning
But I was singing in the chorus.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, yeah, the chorus.
Andrea Gunning
See, I'm good in a chorus.
Abby Lee Anderson
Go by myself. Someone give you a beat? Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
It's a hard knock life for us It's a hard knock life for us Instead of screaming, what is it? What is it?
Abby Lee Anderson
Instead of kissing.
Andrea Gunning
Wait, I thought instead of screaming, I.
Abby Lee Anderson
Said, stead of cheating.
Andrea Gunning
Like the adult version of orphans, I said, it's screaming, we get kicked.
Abby Lee Anderson
It's a hot knock.
Andrea Gunning
There's more to that. Hold on, hold on. We gotta do this. We had it. Hard knock life lyrics. We were there.
Abby Lee Anderson
Instead of kisses we get kicked.
Andrea Gunning
Is it kisses? Yeah. Huh? Steady treated we get tricked Steady kisses we get kicked It's a hard knock life. I don't remember that part. Got enough folks to speak of so it's our knock row we ho Cotton blankets said of snow Snow Cotton blankets snow stead of wool Empty bellies steada full Tell me the beat on the sea I can't find it Empty stead of full.
Abby Lee Anderson
Wait.
Andrea Gunning
So it goes It's a hard rock row we ho Cotton blankets, empty bellies dead oh, see, I cannot find beats to save my life.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, now I'm forgetting. I think it goes up.
Andrea Gunning
I know, but yeah. Anyways, I was an orphan and you were Annie. That's funny.
Abby Lee Anderson
That's hilarious.
Andrea Gunning
When I was a flying monkey, I was on rollerblades.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, that's. That's cool. Oh, that makes it fun.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah. The flying monkeys were evil.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, yeah. They're trying to scare.
Andrea Gunning
Anyways, okay, my most embarrassing moment is I shut the garage door on my dad's truck.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, really? Like on the top.
Andrea Gunning
And I immediately put myself in time out because my dad loved his truck. So it was, like sticking out a little bit. And he was doing something. So that was a reason why the garage. But I had always been told to shut the garage when you come inside.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
So to my fault, I shut the garage because it was open and I was coming in from outside and I showed it on the back of his truck and it just scraped the back of his truck.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, shoot.
Andrea Gunning
And after it happened, I didn't come inside for two hours. I just sat on the porch and I didn't want to tell anybody.
Abby Lee Anderson
Aww. Was he mad?
Andrea Gunning
Yeah, he was not happy because I'm pretty sure it was not easy to fix.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
And it cost a lot of money.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, that stuff happens.
Andrea Gunning
It does. But I was definitely embarrassed. Literally put myself in a tight house and just sat on the porch, not wanting to tell anybody. They're like, where is she? Come out. And I was like.
Abby Lee Anderson
I shut the garage door. Yeah, I didn't mean to.
Andrea Gunning
I know. Favorite memories of your brother, Victoria. She wishes him a happy belated 40th.
Abby Lee Anderson
I love that. So we went to. Okay, here's one. We went to LA and we saw the Eagles play and like Fleetwood Mac. It was like a two day concert.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
And we stayed in an Airbnb that was just like the most fun thing ever. Just like jamming out to them and like, getting to spend that much time with him because he always was in Wichita and I was here, so I didn't really see him that much. But we went with my mom and uncle and it was just like a whole weekend where we just like jammed out and like explored la. We like, landed at the airport and I was like, in lax and I was like, let's just walk, like downtown from the airport. He's like, why don't we get an Uber? I'm like, let's just walk. And we like. I don't even know why we did this, but we walked with our suitcases like two miles. It was like the dumbest thing ever. But it was really fun because we just had to like, catch up. And then we got like chips and guac on like the pier and yeah, it was really cool, so.
Andrea Gunning
Oh, I love that memory.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know. It was really fun.
Andrea Gunning
And he like, loved California.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yes. Yeah. Yeah. He, like, loved like the ocean and like rock music, like classic rock. He loved Metallica. That was like his favorite band. So, like, whenever I hear that, like, I'm like, amy. I feel like it's a sign when I'm in the car.
Andrea Gunning
Yeah.
Abby Lee Anderson
You know I hear a Metallica song. Come on. I'm like, oh, my gosh, it's Zach.
Andrea Gunning
So I love that.
Abby Lee Anderson
I love that question. Because I feel like you. Some people don't know how to like, address, you know, like, because he just had his birthday, like he would have been 40 years old, and I posted about it. And, like, I think I love when people are like, oh, tell me about him. Or, like, tell me a memory or something. I'm like, that's such a cool way. You know, instead of being like, oh, God, I'm sorry that happened. So, like, you know, like, being awkward, I think it's like, such a great way to just be like, oh, my gosh, tell me about him, or what was he like? You know?
Andrea Gunning
So that's honestly my favorite route. Whenever I talk to anybody about grief, I'm always, just tell me your favorite memories, because it allows you to remember them. You don't want to forget them. You want to talk about them, and that allows you to talk about them in a positive way. So I saw that question. I said, this is perfect.
Abby Lee Anderson
I love it, because I also don't.
Andrea Gunning
Ever want to just openly, especially on part one, be like, talk to me about this.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah. Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
That feels like a episode for my other podcast sometime, if you ever want to do that. But that's. I never wanted to, like, go into it, so I'm glad she asked it.
Abby Lee Anderson
Allowed it space for it.
Andrea Gunning
Thanks.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
Happy belated birthday to him.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah. Thank you. It's crazy that he'd be 40.
Andrea Gunning
That is crazy. Who is his favorite band?
Abby Lee Anderson
Metallica, for sure. He likes, like, all those, like, hard metal, and, like, I never like that at all. And now I'm like, oh, my gosh. I would have gone to one of these because Metallica was here, you know, like, not too long ago. So when moments like that come up, I'm like, oh, my gosh. I.
Andrea Gunning
You know, you ever gonna go to a concert just to kind of have that memory of him and just hang.
Abby Lee Anderson
Out and I think so. Well, he was a huge Broncos fan, and so I never went to a game with him, which also, I'm like, why didn't we do these things? It's such, like, a lesson to me, like, why are we waiting to do these things? You know, it's like, don't wait. And so I know I'm gonna kind of feel guilty going because I didn't with him, but I really want to go to a Broncos game, like, you know, in his honor, so.
Andrea Gunning
Well, I hope you remember him and think about a lot of times and. Because you're. You're a Broncos fan, too.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
So I imagine you guys watched growing up.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yes. Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
So it will give you good memories of all of your guys's times watching together, and it'll feel good. It'll probably be emotional in a lot of ways, but I know I mostly. Good.
Abby Lee Anderson
I cry over everything. It gets so annoying, you know? I'm like, I'm tired of crying. I don't want to. Like, I was crying, like, all day on his birthday, you know?
Andrea Gunning
Yeah. But Griff doesn't have a timeline.
Abby Lee Anderson
I like crying by myself, but, like. Like, in front of my boyfriend. I just don't like to. And that's when he was like, abby, it's fine. And I'm like, no, I don't want you to see me like this.
Andrea Gunning
Okay, well, you're gonna definitely have to get over that if you guys are living together.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know. I cry when he's at work. Okay. Oh, Abby.
Andrea Gunning
Well, it doesn't. It really doesn't. Doesn't have a timeline. I unfortunately think that will be often how you feel in association with him. But that's okay.
Abby Lee Anderson
I know.
Andrea Gunning
That's why also, it's good to have fun memories and go to a Broncos game, go to a Metallica concert. And then you might cry, but it might be crying of happiness of just thinking of him.
Abby Lee Anderson
Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
And what he think or say in those moments.
Abby Lee Anderson
Right.
Andrea Gunning
So.
Abby Lee Anderson
Oh, I love that question. Maybe smile. That's weird. Yeah.
Andrea Gunning
See?
Abby Lee Anderson
It is. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Good.
Andrea Gunning
Fond memory. We're gonna end on that one. Abby, thanks for being here, talking about everything and hanging out with us.
