Come on, Bobby Bones Transmitting across America,
B
this is the Bobby Bone Show. Hey, I hope you had a great weekend. Welcome to Monday Show Morning Studio Morning. Okay, everybody, welcome to the show. If you're hearing this, it means I am coming back to work today and we have had the baby. So I'm guessing that everything is timed itself outright. What's happening right now is this is a recorded segment that I am doing once we got home with the baby at our house. So it could have been a week, could have been two weeks ago, I'm not sure. But Caitlyn had our baby. Our baby is named Billy. B I L L I E. That's also Caitlyn's dad's name. So we named it after Caitlyn's dad, which I guess is Billy's grandpa now. Weird. And we're home. So anything I'm saying now, it's just first reaction to us having the baby again. We'll talk more about it today and on the podcast, I'm sure. But I'm just timing this out that we're going to be back live today in the studio. Okay? So that being said, everybody is healthy, which is great. You may have seen pictures if we posted them on social media, Mr. Bobby Bones on my Instagram. I'm sure we did at some point post something. A lot of people had warned me about driving home from the hospital after my wife gave birth and I was pretty nervous about the Car seat situation. Because first they make it seem like putting a car seat in is the most advanced, hardest thing a human could possibly do. So even leading up to this, I was nervous about the car seat. I found that it was pretty easy to put in, but, man, they had me worked up about it. So it's got. Had two snaps in the back of my seat, and it snaps right with the base of the car seat. And then there's a little thing on the other side that goes down to the floor that kind of stabilizes there. No problem.
E
But.
B
But then they had me nervous because we were leaving the hospital and the nurse walked down with us. Now, remember, I've got the baby in the carrier, which is also the car seat. So it's the first time we've ever. We've even left the hospital was hours ago. And I'm walking down, the nurse with me, and she wants to make sure that the car seat is in. So I'm getting nervous again that it was too easy to put the car seat in because she's gonna check the car seat. And by the way, this is like 8pm or so right now. It's like midnight. So she checks it. I get the thumbs up, and then she has to hear it click. And so I put it in. We got super baby in there too. Newborn baby. Put it in. Click, click. Good to go. So then earlier, as I'm driving home again, I was told by so many people, you're gonna be so nervous driving home with the baby in the car. And I think maybe it's a little easier too, because it was 8pm and there weren' lot of cars on the road. I wasn't so nervous about that as much as I was. I was nervous because my wife just gave birth, and I don't want to be bouncing around whenever she physically just basically came out of a traumatic experience with her body. And so I was looking for bumps mostly so we wouldn't hit them, because I knew that would be bothersome to my wife. So I did miss a turn, and we did get home safely. And again, her parents are here, so it allows me to pop down here for a little bit to record this message. You may have already seen it, but we do have a baby. Now. I don't have a lot more to say right now because this just happened, or at least we just got home. We have spent the last couple days at the hospital. And I'll say this too, about the hospital. It's cold in there. Okay. It's cold in there. A little too Cold. It's cat. There's a couch. It's not the most comfortable thing for a guy, but it's not about me at all. But I'll just say that. So if you're hearing this segment, we'll be able to talk about this more during the show. But this was recorded at least a week and a half ago. All right, that's all I need to get back up to the house. Thank you very much. We're going to play a song now. But that's an odd way to start the show. I know, but I had this ready to go for whenever I came back live. And listen, we had no reruns last week, but we did kind of have some shows, some new content ready in case this all happened. So I haven't worked for a few days. All right, I'm recording another segment. We are a few days in to having a baby. If you missed a segment earlier that should have played on the show. I recorded that the night that we came home from the hospital. Now a few days later, it has seemed very much like a blur. I'm recording this segment. So we're a few days in. Everybody's pretty sleepy, but I think I was so prepared to be so sleepy that it doesn't seem that crazy to me, but that's where I am now. We are able to watch a lot of basketball. I'm gonna be honest with you. So we got home and it was. SEC tournament was happening, and Arkansas won the SEC tournament, and that was awesome. And the baby's undefeated so far with basketball. We're looking forward to what's happening with the NCAA tournament. That's not what this is about, though. There are some things just from a few days that I realized, one, I'm not that good at and that I'm kind of good at. Number one, I'm not that good at not gagging whenever it's time to change a diaper. I've gotten better because I do need to be mature about this, but at first is a little difficult for me. I am getting better at it just by exposure. I have also changed a diaper all by myself. At first, I was a little nervous to do that, if I'm being honest. One, I didn't want to mess it up, and two, again, I'm going to be 12. It was just gross. But now it's really not that gross to me anymore. Occasionally. Sometimes it is. I'm like, oh, But I'm doing much better at that. So that's what. I'm not that good at what I'm good at is predicting the temperature of the water for, like a bath because they have these things that are amazing. They're little floating rubber duckies. And the rubber duckies have the temperature of the water on them. I almost don't need the ducky. I didn't know I had this skill, the skill of letting the water come out of the faucet, then putting my hand under it. I can almost predict the temperature to the degree. I still need the ducky just in case. I have not honed my skills completely yet, but it's been pretty crazy that I'm that good at that. So I'm getting better at the diapers and I'm really good at predicting the temperature of the water for whenever we wipe the baby down. So if you missed again, we have. We have a daughter, a little girl named Billy, named after the baby's grandpa, Caitlin's dad. And it's pretty much been a blur. Caitlin's parents went home after a couple of days. They had to get back to Oklahoma. They were a tremendous help. The house is a disaster right now and I'm hoping this segment makes it to air. So I snuck away to record a second segment here on the show. Everything is going, I would say, pretty good. I'm just trying to be a good assistant to my wife. That's my goal. It's to be get an A plus report card grade as being a great husband during this time because it doesn't matter what she needs. I'm trying to be there for it. I'm not always the best, but I'm trying to be there. So that's where we are. I'm sure we'll have a lot more to talk about in real time on the show today because again, if you're hearing this, this was recorded probably five or six days ago. I'm not sure, but I know if we're playing this now, I hit the switch that we're going to be live on the show today. Talking about the last couple of weeks. We've gone through so many diapers, like shout out to people that I don't know. I don't know how somebody doesn't go completely broke with diapers. So shout out to even like my parents back in the day. And I've talked about this. I grew up with teenage parents and my mom had me at 16 years old. Right after her 16th birthday, she had me. My biological dad was 17. How in the world did they keep me diapered? We didn't have any money. Diapers are so expensive and you have to use them all the time now. Luckily, we're blessed. We don't have to worry about, like, oh, God, can we afford diapers? We're very fortunate there. But between diapers and wipes, how does a parent not go broke? So big shout out to parents everywhere for going through this. Holy crap. That's where we are. More to come later. We're gonna do some normal show, I'm sure then we'll talk about baby stuff. But that's where we are. We're now a few days. A few days in. Probably four or five days. In five, whatever. It's all a blur to me. But thank you, everybody, for listening to the show. That's what's up. I'm so happy for you, Bobby, with
C
the baby, the birth of baby Billy.
B
Congratulations to you and Caitlin, and you are going to be the greatest parents in the world. Congratulations, Bobby and Caitlin, on that beautiful, beautiful baby. This is Chloe from Montana. I just had to call and tell you congratulations on that beautiful baby. Thank you very much. All right, what do you want to know? I've been in a bit of a bubble for two weeks.
C
Yeah.
B
So you've heard shows. But I knew that as soon as Katelyn was going into labor, we had an emergency valve. We've been working on it for a few months. Right, Mike? At least. A few months. At least. Yeah, yeah.
C
Val, regarding the show.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
E
I thought, like, for the baby.
C
What on earth that sounded like?
B
We pulled the emergency valve and then the show just went in. Because if reruns go up, then sponsors don't get paid, then streams go down, then listens go down, the ratings go down. It affects everybody on the show. So we've been working for months to have enough content to keep going for a couple weeks. And so that's exactly what happened. It's the first time we've ever done it like that. But so that afternoon, I hit Mike up. I was like, hey, we're going in. And he's like, got it. So away we went. We go in and eventually I'll do a podcast with my wife so everybody can, like, hear the real story. Because what I'm going to say is probably not the real story. It's just my version of the story. So we go in and I don't know, we have a baby. Yeah, it's. It's bizarre. It's awesome. It's all. It's everything that I kind of. Everybody just kept saying stuff like, you're. It's. You're gonna go in and it's gonna be so crazy to you. But to me, I was so focused on Caitlin that nothing was. Nothing was, like, weird or, like, made me super emotional while I was at the hospital at all because I was so focused on her because she. It's like you women, when you have a baby, it's like you've been in a car wreck the waist down. Even after then they expect you to go home and raise the kid. Yeah, it's crazy. There's. I don't know how people do this by themselves. So to me, it really didn't hit me because it was. The whole thing was bizarre. While they were a big shout out to our nurse, we had a nurse that. For the labor and delivery nurse, that was a plus because they start it before your doctor even gets there. So she's with Caitlin for 30, 45 minutes as it's happening before the doctor gets there, because the doctor's on call. And the doctor comes in and, like, finishes up. The doctor, like, comes in as the closer. She's like Mariana Rivera, most famous closer of all time.
E
Pitcher.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course, Obviously.
B
But we had. And I don't want to say the nurse's name in case she, like, doesn't want her name out there. Her initials were la. That's all I'll say. But it was. She was awesome. So we had the baby. It was cold in that room. They got to do something about that.
C
Well, was Caitlyn hot, though? I don't know, because I feel like. I feel like she's hot and sweaty. You're working hard.
E
Yeah. Like, not you so much.
B
I was freezing when we were in the hospital because we were there for a while and we were in the hospital and we. We brought blankets and pillows because we were told, but we still didn't bring enough blankets. I had enough pillows, but not enough blankets. And so Caitlin's in the bed, and, like, her nurse comes in, and I am balled up, like, in a cocoon with blankets wrapped around me. I've fallen asleep on the couch, but the couch turns into this terrible makeshift bed, and the nurse comes up and goes, you need to get up. And I was like. And it was go time. Oh.
C
Because I thought. I was like, what'd you do wrong?
B
No, it was time to go. I mentioned this earlier. You guys did. Probably didn't hear the segment, but I recorded a couple things while I was out last week. And everybody kept saying, hey, you're going to be so scared on the drive home because you're going to have the baby in the car. I wasn't that scared on the drive home because of the baby. I was scared on the drive home because my wife was hurting because she had just been in a car wreck from her waist down. And so I was just trying to dodge potholes for her more than I was the baby, because I knew the baby would be fine. But, yeah, I don't know that That's. It's all been a blur. I've. I watched a ton of basketball. I've watched every game.
C
I literally thought you were gonna say. I've watched a ton of YouTube videos on how to be a dad.
E
No, no, no. It's March Madness, Amy.
B
I've watched every. I've watched every game.
E
It's awesome.
C
So just, like, holding her or what?
B
Both being just. We haven't left the bedroom a whole lot. Sometimes we'll move to the living room. We have been on two walks, which later in my wife's rehabilitation. Is that what you say?
C
I don't know.
E
I guess I don't.
B
I've never heard of that.
C
What are you trying to say?
B
She can't walk. She's just now starting to be able to, like, walk?
C
Yeah. Recovery.
B
Recovery is probably a better word.
E
Recovery.
B
We've been on a couple walks, but we really haven't left the house until now. It's been a bit of a blur. She's been great about waking up. I never said, hey, I won't wake up. But she doesn't wake me up a lot of the times.
C
Interesting. Do you hear the baby? Oh, okay.
B
No. Because it stays right by her bed in the bassinet.
E
So your wife just takes care of the baby when she cries?
B
Overnights? Yeah. That's awesome, dude. Yeah. I have woken up a couple times, but. And I do a lot of stuff in the daytime. Like, there's not a bottle I. That, you know, if I'm gonna take the milk and put it in the bottle, I do that. If there's.
C
What about changing diapers?
B
I've done that.
C
Yeah.
E
How many times? How many have you done?
C
Cause Eddie didn't.
B
Fully by myself. Okay, hold on. Fully by myself. One.
E
Wow.
B
Really?
C
Like nobody else in the room.
B
Right by myself. But with her, almost every one of them.
E
Okay.
B
We have a pit crew type thing. What I do, I get the wipes, 1, 2, 3, on the side of the peanut, and then I go. And then I get the diaper, and she lifts her up. I put the second diaper under the butt of the diaper she takes that diaper down. You pull the one up. I take the wipes that she's using the diaper and put it in the disposable area. She switches it back up. I have the right leg. She has the left leg to put on the onesie. Zip it back up. Zoop. If you want me to swaddle, I can swaddle the crap out of a baby. So it's been very much that. Right now. I know you're trying to get me. You didn't change any diapers.
F
Me?
C
No, I said, I'm sure you have. Eddie didn't. His first child.
E
I was just. I was. I was trying to get you a little bit, just so I'm not alone, because I only changed.
B
Well, I've only changed one by myself. Yeah.
C
Yeah, but you being involved in that. There's no way I can see Caitlin letting you get away with not being involved in that.
B
It's like getting away. I think sometimes she does want me to do stuff because she thinks I'll still mess it up a little bit.
E
Right. Right.
B
I had texted Eddie, or he messaged me. He was like, hey, how's it going over there? And so I was holding the baby as the baby was asleep, and I just sent a video because I couldn't really type. And I was like, well, she's finally let me go one hour unsupervised. So I've had to earn time with the baby as well. Unsupervised, without my wife.
E
So where she can trust you? Yeah, yeah.
B
Where now she can fully go away for an hour, hour and a half. She can do all of her stuff. Don't worry about it. Regardless of what happens, I got it.
E
Are you scared holding the baby?
B
None. I was at first. It's only the second baby I've ever held in my life. The only other baby I've ever held is my nephew, Grayson dj, who live in Arkansas. Their baby for, like, six seconds once, because Kayla's like, here, hold Parker for one second. That was it. And even then, I was like, oh, God. So it's the second baby I've ever held now. No problems. I can hold a baby like a champ. I've been holding it for two weeks every day. But that's what's up. We'll do more on this, more segments, et cetera. But that's where we are as of right now. I don't know. Baby's 5. 0. As a Razorback fan.
C
Yeah, that must be. She's, like, pretty amazing. Good luck charm.
B
Hey, I got my shirt on SEC champs.
E
Wow.
B
Already? Yeah. As soon as the game was over, I ordered it. Yeah. So, yes, I mentioned this earlier. I don't know how people get by having to buy all those diapers.
E
That's the hard part, man.
B
It's wild.
E
That's why I always feel like when people have babies, the best gift is just give.
B
Gift them diapers or gift them a gift card for diapers. If you don't know what kind of diapers.
E
Yeah.
C
Oh, yeah. Yeah. And that's what I know for yalls baby shower. Y' all didn't want gifts or books, but.
B
No, we wanted books. That's what we got.
C
Yeah. Y' all didn't. Sorry. Y' all didn't want gifts. You wanted books for the baby. But we also made one of those little diaper cake things that was kind of cute. And so y' all got some diapers from us.
E
Hey, so you're good, man.
C
You got a cake.
B
I haven't seen those.
C
You didn't see the diaper cake? And we all wrote on them and we wrote.
B
No, I remember seeing it at your house.
C
Okay.
B
I'm saying we haven't used those.
C
Oh, yeah. Cause they're.
B
They may be later.
C
They're size one. Y' all are on size zero right now.
B
We're size zero, right?
E
Super baby size.
C
Super baby size. Yeah.
B
Yeah. It's an extreme super baby. Right. Still. It's so small. It's this. She's the size of a football. Like, if you're holding it. Yeah, she's size. And I'm so used to saying it because we didn't want to say the gender forever, that I'm trained on the microphone to still say it.
C
Oh, same. Like, even to other people that I was talking to. I was like. I was like, it was born today. They would be like, Bobby had his baby. I'm like, I don't know. Did he?
B
Yes. So she's the size of a football because I can still bend my elbow and hold her here.
C
So that voicemail a minute ago. Who said baby Billy?
E
And that's pretty funny.
B
Baby those bar Bonkers.
E
That's really funny.
B
Maybe those Bob Bonkers. Yeah. That show is so funny. Baby Billy. Katelyn was looking. She goes, I wonder if it's a baby costume for baby Billy's Bible Bonkers for Halloween. There's not.
C
That would be funny.
B
That would be funny.
C
Yeah. You can make one, but you'd have to make that baby sort of bald
B
like baby Billy, which is hard because our Baby is not bald.
C
She has so much hair.
B
No, she came out with so much hair that when we went to talk. Well, I guess they come to us. When she came to talk to us, she said we rarely see hair on white babies this much. It's usually ethnic babies.
E
Yeah, yeah.
B
Like I had a lot of hair. Mexican babies, maybe Asian babies. She was like this. For a white baby, this is the most hair. And so.
E
Don't look at me, man.
B
I'm not. Because you.
C
No, the baby. Are you kidding? Caitlin sent me a picture the other day and she was like, I basically gave birth to Bobby.
E
Yeah, that's you, dude.
B
What I have learned is that babies transform their looks.
E
Yes, they do.
B
So what they look like now will not wholly be what they look like in even a year. But right now the baby looks very much like me. Hair, eyes, everything. I'm hoping that she transitions face wise little to her mother for her sake. Yes, for her sake. But yeah, that's what's up. That's where we are now. We'll talk about it more. We'll do a whole long this on the podcast if you guys want to go and listen to it later today. Just search for the Bobby Bones show wherever you get your podcasts. But that's the story as of right now. We will come back. We have something really special for you. Imagine never buying gas again. EVs are easy to charge as your phone and perfect for everyday life. Now, most Americans only drive about 40 miles a day and most EVs go 200 to 400 miles on a full charge. That's plenty. And with fewer parts, that means fewer repairs and fewer surprises at the mechanic. Anyone who has made the switch says the same thing. Once you go electric, you don't look back. The way forward is electric.

Hey, this is Brent, longtime listener from North Carolina. Congratulations on your baby. I know you're getting thousands of messages, but I just wanted to throw mine in there. Keep up the good work. And again, congratulations, Bobby. It's awesome.
B
Thank you very much. There's a racket on this kid buying kids stuff. It's crazy. Like, they have. Every product is good for about one month of the baby's life. Whenever a baby is new, it's like, this product is only for babies. Zero to one and a half months, and then it's over. It's even close. I was already complaining about the clothes, so that's been wild. I had to trim the baby's nails last night. Except it's not a trimmer, it's a buffer. And so on this buffer here, watch this video. On this buffer, it's a different color for each age of the baby.
C
Oh, okay. I see.
B
And so there's like a zero to one month.
C
It's battery, three to six hours.
B
It's gotta be like,
C
this level has got to be super gentle.
E
So it's like sandpaper like that.
B
Okay. But it doesn't hurt at all because I did it on me a couple times to make sure.
E
Yeah, yeah.
B
And so it's being very gentle with buffering the baby's nails because what she will do is she will grab her face with fingernails and just start cutting her face.
C
Yeah.
B
What these onesies have, though, that's pretty good, is they have these flops that go over the top of hands, and so we have to use those. I feel like I'm teaching Eddie stuff, too. I know he has four kids.
E
It's been a while, man.
B
Yeah. So they flip over their hands. But then we put her. Because it was really hot. We put her in a sleeveless. Like a sleeveless legless onesie cut off. Yeah, I got her in a cut off already.
C
Bobby starts cutting all of her onesies.
B
And with that, she has to have her nails trimmed because she just cuts. She just goes to her face and cuts her face. So I was trimming nails yesterday. People were parent shaming me already.
C
Who?
B
People online tell me who. So don't take care of them already.
C
Shaming you for what?
B
Because I was pushing the stroller. If you go to my Instagram, we've gone on a couple walks, and so I would just record a video of me pushing the stroller with the baby in it and just write something on the screen. And one of them was Arkansas rolling into the Sweet 16 like this. But apparently I didn't have the handle of the stroller all the way out. It was in, which doesn't affect the baby at all. But someone's like, hey, moron, pull the handle the stroller out.
E
What's wrong with people?
B
People are weird.
C
I would have never noticed that, like, if you had it in first or third or.
E
I didn't notice it. I like the video.
B
I never noticed that part. Thank you very much.
C
Yeah, so I did see someone hating on you for having the cell phone laying on the stroller.
E
What's wrong with that?
B
I was listening to Jon Pardi on top the cell phone.
C
It wasn't on the baby. It was on the stroller.
B
Yeah, it was on the top of the base of the stroller.
C
Yeah. And it feels like you had it on its head.
B
Yeah, it was playing John Party and. Yeah. It wasn't even near the head. It was on the bottom of the
C
stroller and not even touching its body.
B
Yes. So that's where we are. Mike, do you have any questions? Did you watch? No.
E
That's a good question.
C
Interesting, you know.
E
So what'd you do?
C
What?
B
I stayed up. I stayed up in her head the whole time.
C
Okay.
E
Okay.
C
Yeah.
E
Talking to her.
B
Yeah. We were going through it, and I asked her, do you want me to watch? She was like, no.
E
Why would she want you to watch
B
if it meant, like, watching our baby come into the world, like, if that moment meant something.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
And I was like, do you want. And she was like, no. And I was like, good, because I don't want to. So, no, I stayed up at her head. And it's weird for me to say it was a relatively easy process because I didn't do anything. I was in the room, and I was just trying to motivate her. We had a playlist. I Didn't put enough songs on the playlist. I had to start it over once.
E
So how many songs you put on it?
C
That's okay.
B
Like, six. Oh, it was very last minute.
C
That's very short.
B
Well, at first it was gonna be on her phone, and then quickly it had to be on my phone because I had control of it. Knew the password to get in. I don't think. I think she's told me the password to her phone, but I don't remember it. And I was like, let's just put it on my phone. So I was just trying to remember all the songs. And so by the time I remembered, like, six of them, it was go time. And I was in charge of bringing the speaker. So I had a wireless cheap Arkansas razorback speaker with a big hog head on it that lights up, like, with every drum beat. So it was like, boom, boom. The hog head just lighting up the whole time. Made the playlist. Baby was born. I was. What a fear was, because I've seen it on TV so many times, is that the baby comes out and then you don't hear anything, and they have to, like, slap its butt and make it cry.
E
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because they don't come out really breathing.
B
Well, our baby came out screaming.
E
Okay.
B
Our baby came out two things. They were like, oh, my God, the hair. They could see the hair of the baby. Like, but we already knew the baby had a lot of hair because in the ultrasounds, you could see a head full of hair.
E
So when that happened with my kid, I thought they were talking about the body, so I kind of freaked out. Like, oh, my gosh, the hair.
B
What does it look like?
E
A gorill?
B
Yeah. No, we. We thought it was head.
E
Okay.
C
They are born with more body hair.
B
Not mine.
C
Oh, well, some are. And then it sheds off.
B
Yeah. No, not. Not mine.
E
How long was the whole process defined?
B
Process?
E
Like labor, I guess, or less than an hour. It's amazing.
B
We were there longer than that, but less than an hour.
E
Like, when the nurse woke you up, said, or the doctor said, go time.
B
Less than an hour.
E
That's pretty good.
B
It's the single most athletic thing I've ever seen my wife do, and she is a plus athlete. Like, she was just like, let's go. And next thing you know, the baby came out, and the baby was crying at full immediately. So I never had that fear. But since I wasn't down there and couldn't see, I didn't know exactly when the baby came out. They were just like, we got the baby Here it is. And then. Waa.
C
Did you do Skin to Skin?
B
Yes, I did. And I will tell you tomorrow about something I did that was pretty stupid. When it comes to Skin to Skin, that's a tease. I'm nervous, so. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey Ray, play me voicemail number four. Hey, Bobby Bon show. Just curious. I'm only seeing Thursday show. I'm not seeing part two. Usually I'm used to like a part one and a part two, and I'm not seeing that this week. Just wondering what's going on. Thanks. What went on is I had a baby and we had done almost two weeks of full shows, interviews, secondary podcasts, and around Thursday we ran out of secondary podcasts. So that is. I think people have started to get the idea probably like Wednesday or Thursday when there wasn't a second podcast, like the, you know, really passionate fans of this show. And so some listeners got the idea, oh, I bet they're having the baby. But at that point we had had the baby for a while, but that's what's up. If you guys want to hear more of us talk about this, it'll be on today's podcast. Just go search for it. Bobby Bone show. Wherever you get your podcast. I'm sure this will be a big topic that we talk about today longer. We are confined by the time of radio right now, so we will be back. Hello, Bobby Bones. My wife and I love to travel, but it always has to fall within the brief windows when she can get off work. Normally that's no problem because my work schedule is much more flexible. However, a friend of mine who is a successful musician has invited us to a massive event that his band is playing over two days, all the way in Scotland. I want to go. My wife can't go. She told me I can go if I really want to, but I recognize that tone in her voice feels dangerous. Do I go and go to this once in a lifetime experience, or do I stay at home and keep peace for the greater good? Signed wifeless world traveler. Okay, I know the tone. Meaning I often use it. Not even that I hear it.
C
Oh, you know the tone because that's you.
B
Okay. I would say two. It's. It's tough because you're married. This is a version, in my opinion, of codependence, where she's telling you to go and you're just still like, I just want to. Even though she's saying go, I want to make sure she's good. If she's telling you to go, I think you can Go. And not worry about tone. And if it's a once in a lifetime thing and it's a friend that's invited you, I think she probably will understand, even if she feels like. And she'll be disappointed. But you can't. If she says go, you can't base everything that you're feeling and you feel bad because she possibly feels a certain way that you can't possibly describe or understand. Yeah, it's. It's. It is touchy. This feels a bit like a codependent thing where he doesn't want to.
C
He's too worried about how she's gonna feel, which you're right. As a couple, you want to carry about your partner's feelings.
B
She's saying go the best.
C
And I mean, this can. She can feel frustrated by this that she can't go. So some of that might be her tone, but she also can be very happy that you get to go. And, like, happy for you.
B
I don't. I don't think that's happening. No, no, no.
C
But she can also not happy at all.
B
Like, I think she's upset she can't go, and so she's probably. That's kind of coming out of her. I don't think she's happy he gets to go. Really? Because she's so unhappy. She can't. But I don't think that should keep him from going if there's really not a re. As long as she doesn't get punished. Like, she now doesn't get to go on a vacation because you went to this because you'd have enough money.
C
Oh, yeah. That would not be good.
B
Right. As long as nothing is being subtracted from her vacation time that you guys normally have. I feel like it's worth it for her to be a little upset because she's probably gonna take it out on you a little bit, even though she's just mad that she can't go and it's really not about you.
C
Yeah. And that's for her to work through. Like, if you stay home, I just feel like there's gonna be resentment all the way around. Yeah. But definitely something to work through if she's not. I. Okay. I Don't y' all want to be in a Where it's like the other person's happy for you if you get to go.
B
I. Absolutely. I think in the healthiest of worlds, she goes, yeah, that'd be awesome. It sucks. I can't go, and I'll be jealous, but you should go.
C
Right.
B
That's the healthiest of worlds. But she did say he could go.
C
But she had tone.
B
Yep, she had tone. I'm familiar with it. I used it. And I think that he should go, though. If it's a close friend and it really is something that's super special, I think he should go.
C
Yeah.
B
And just deal with it when he gets back. He's not doing anything wrong. I wouldn't say deal with it when he gets back if he was doing something wrong. For the record, if she's like, I don't think you should go, and you go deal with me. You get back. I ain't saying that.
C
Right.
B
She's saying go. So go, go, go, go, go, go. That's what I. What do you say?
C
I. I say go. Yeah.
B
As long as the money thing doesn't.
C
Yeah, you're. That's a great point to consider. Like, if it doesn't impact when she does have off and suddenly. Oh, well, the money we were gonna spend on vacation, I spent on my trip across the pond. Like, no, that's not cool. But it sounds like it could be really fun, and I think she will process through it. She probably. Maybe she still processing, and so that's why there was tone.
B
Go, go, go.
E
Absolutely.
B
Go, go, go.
F
You got four. Go.
B
Rarely happens around here. All right, good luck. Yeah, good luck. Good luck. Seriously, good luck. All right, close it up, Bones. Ray, how's this game work? So I'm going to play you a random word from a song. All you have to do is name the title of the song. Example Burns. That almost sounds like Adam's family or something. Yeah, that's Ring of Fire.
E
Yes.
B
Okay, let's do five. Yep. Okay. Everybody's me. Eddie, Lunchbox. Amy, write your answers down. Oh, that's fun. Do that again.
E
I'm in.
B
I'm in. That's good, though. Familiar at all to you guys?
C
Yes.
F
Yeah.
C
But all I hear is Ring of
E
fire from the example.
C
Yes.
B
All right. Five seconds.
F
I wrote something down.
B
Okay. Amy.
C
I believe I can fly. No, no, no.
F
Don't stop believing.
B
That's it.
F
Yes. Wow.
B
Lunchbox. That what you have? Yeah.
E
Don't stop believing.
B
The context of it is.
E
I just knew it.
B
I know. Me too.
C
Yeah. Don't stop.
B
Well, that's the chorus, though.
C
I know.
B
But anywhere. Took the midnight train going.
F
Mike.
B
Good job, Mike. Thank you. All right, next one. Crazy.
F
Oh, got it.
C
I'm in.
B
Do it again.
F
I'm in.
B
For the crazy.
E
I'm in.
B
Can't get there in my head.
E
Got five seconds.
B
I'm just Kidding. I know who it is. You guys are in. So I can talk it out? Yeah, sure. It's. It's Miley Cyrus. It's okay, la. I got it. Got it. I'm in. Since that was the last one, I'll go first. Party in the USA Party in the US Took me a second to get there.
E
Yeah.
B
Party in the US That's Partying it again. Crazy. That context says why they made so crazy. What is it like? Look to my right and I see the Hollywood sign. This is also crazy. All right, good, good, good. All right, next one. I'm in.
F
What?
B
Hold on, hold on.
F
Is that a word?
C
I'm in.
F
What? You're in? Hit it again.
B
I'm in.
F
Dang it. Here is my chance to win.
E
I'm in,
B
man. All right, Lunchbox.
F
We are the champions.
B
That's it.
F
Are you serious?
E
Okay, good.
F
Are you serious?
B
That's it, Amy.
C
We are the champions.
E
Oh, that's the Wii part.
B
Okay. That's the we of the champions. Yep. Next one.
C
Kitchen. Oh, I'm in. Kitchen.
E
I'm in.
F
I'm in for the win.
B
We should all have this one, right?
E
We should.
B
One, two, three.
C
Who is that working?
E
Yeah, it's not working. Nine to five. Working nine.
B
I just have nine to five.
F
See, that's what I was scared about. I wrote nine to five. I didn't know which one it was.
B
Mikey, it's just nine to five.
E
Yeah, so I don't get the point, because a working.
F
Well, you put the wrong title.
B
Oh, dang. How many is that? That's four, and then this is five. Okay, last one today.
F
Oh, I mean, give us a song from this. That's really old.
E
Oh.
B
Oh, man.
E
I'm in.
F
Today we walked on the moon. He hit again.
B
Right today. Do you need this to be to stay in the game if we all miss it?
E
I think I have it today.
F
Gosh. What's one of those songs from back
B
in the day and. Okay, do you have it? No, really? It's Johnny Cash, but I. I just. I don't. I don't have it. Amy hurt. That's it. You just won the whole game. How did you do that?
E
Did she get any wrong?
C
No, a guy did. I didn't get journeyed on something.
F
Yeah, she didn't win, so.
E
She didn't win.
B
Tied it up. Oh, is that four? Oh, I thought you. Oh, I thought you won. Wow, that's clutch. What do you have?
F
Hey, guys, I haven't missed one yet.
B
What do you have?
F
Folsom county prison.
E
I have written down hurt.
B
Did we all tie hurt? It's all tied up at 4. Wow. Okay. Wow. I was also thinking of Folsom County Prison.
F
What is it called?
B
Folsom County. He got me off, man. He got me off. All right, Ray, you want to buzz with your names, everybody?

Imagine never buying gas again. EVs are easy to charge as your phone and perfect for everyday life. Now, most Americans only drive about 40 miles a day and most EVs go 200 to 1, 400 miles on a full charge. That's plenty and with fewer parts, that means fewer repairs and fewer surprises at the mechanic. Anyone who has made the switch says the same thing. Once you go electric, you don't look back. The way forward is electric.

okay, we're getting closer to Lunchbox being on the Price is Right. My theory is that Lunchbox really got on. My theory is that he's pulling off the greatest prank bit of the show that I just don't think he would tell us to watch the show if he was only in the crowd.
F
I mean, of course I mean, I want to see how many times I'm on the show.
B
Yeah, we'll watch. We can't wait. 31st and 2nd, right? 31st, April 2nd.
F
Yes.
B
It's in my head. I remember nothing like that. I think he's on the show.
C
You can't even remember our birthdays. And we've.
E
Right.
C
We've said it for 20 years.
B
I think he's on the show. So I'm at 25 now.
E
Wow. That went up.
F
Went up.
B
So anybody move, you guys?
E
No, I think.
B
You don't think he made it?
E
Started it, maybe 15, 20. I'm still there.
B
You don't give him the credit about.
E
No, he's just not that good of a liar.
B
Okay. Amy, anything? Any check in here? No. Okay. By the way, I. I'm not doing Celebrity. Wheel of Fortune.
E
Oh, you just said you're so bad.
B
No.
C
Why?
F
Hey, I don't know.
E
Because he said he's bad at it.
B
I'm bad at it. But that wouldn't keep me from doing it. But the same reason that I couldn't stay on the cruise for as long is the same reason I probably can't go do somebody. Wheel of Fortune. Smart. But, you know, well, maybe another time. There we go. Another time.
C
Another time will pop up.
B
Does that make you mad, Lunchbox? When I got offered to do a game show and I didn't do it. Not that I got offered it, because I don't think you'd get mad at that.
F
Right. Well.
B
Oh, you even get mad at that.
F
Yes. The fact that you got offered is cool, you know, whatever. But to turn it down, like, we crave that kind of moment.
B
Who's we?
F
Well, at least I do. I mean, I think other people like it. See, that's what I'm saying. And you just say, I know. I'm good, man.
B
It's not that I'm feeling.
F
I'm passing.
B
I would have done it. But, you know, there are personal circumstances at play that don't.
F
Yeah, but your wife and your child have to understand that, you know, like this an opportunity that's one day. And, you know, you're gonna miss days in your kid's life, and this is something you could show your kid years down the road. Like, look, this is what dad was doing when you were laying in the bassinet, because the kid ain't gonna do nothing for, you know, a long time.
C
Bobby, could you submit Lunchbox to go in your place?
B
I think that according to what I read, that's a good idea. According is. According to what I read, it's called Celebrity. Oh, right.
D
So you wouldn't qualify.
F
That was rude. That was rude.
E
Yeah, that makes sense.
F
Yeah, but that would guarantee my spot. What if they said.
B
Yeah, I was kidding, by the way.
F
I know. If they said, oh, we'll take a replacement. Man, that'd be so cool.
B
I know. That would be. I thought you'd be a little irritated.
F
I. I just don't understand. Like, Lunchbox.
E
Then you'd be on two game shows in one year.
F
You tell your wife, hey, this is a 10, because remember, you have that scale of importance, and then she has to let you go.
B
Yeah, I just didn't feel like it was the best. Best move for me at the time. But if. Oh, my God, I did let her know I'd like to play again if it does open back up.
E
Oh, you did say that.
B
Yeah. Oh, I'm terrible at that game. So that's the update. I think Lunchbox is going to end up on Price is Right. And I. I cannot do Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Thank you. Come on. Then you turn the radio on, and the dial just keeps on turning. Keeps on turning. Then you hear Eddie M. Lunchbox, Morgan, too. Sc Steve trying to put you through. M's riding this week's next bit. And Bobby's on the mic. So you know what this is? This is the Bobby Bone. And now for the Morning Corny.
F
The Morning Corny.
C
What keeps a dock floating above water?
B
What keeps a dock floating above water?
C
Peer pressure.
B
That was the Morning Corny. There you go. Bobby Bone Show Bonehead story of the day.
F
This story comes to us from Milton, Washington. A man was in a car wreck, thrown from the vehicle. He's hurt on the side of the road.
B
Ah. Ah.
F
Bystander gonna be a hero. Stops to help him. Approaches. Sir, are you okay? Injured man pulls a gun and says, get away from me. Back up. Don't need your help. Why would you pull a gun?
B
I thought it was a trick to rob him, to be honest.
E
Yeah, I did, too.
B
Oh, let me help you. You can help me by giving me your money. But no, that maybe he thought the person was coming to rob him.
F
Oh, I didn't think about that.
C
He obviously felt threatened.
F
I mean, he's hurt someone. I mean, you just got in a car wreck. Why would you pull a gun on someone trying?
B
Hey, man, you could also have been running from the law, and then you got in a wreck. You don't want anybody to call that. There's a lot of scenarios, but that's weird. It's more of a weird head than a bonehead. Yeah, that's weird. Okay.
F
I'm Lunchbox. That's your Bonehead story of the day.
B
Bones. Hey, it's Valerie from Michigan. Just calling to say that your two best guests are absolutely Jodi Messina and Dr. Laurie. So if you want to book them more, that would be awesome because they're really great. Thanks.
C
Bye.
B
Yeah, people love Jodi Messina. She was on not this last Friday, but the Friday before that. I rarely. And I did a Q and A, and I was talking about how I rarely sit around and we'll talk with the guest after an interview, mostly because the guest has places to go and I've got more show to do or I've been there all day and people just kind of go along the way. But I sat on the couch with Jodi after we finished, just talk for a little bit. She's awesome. Yeah, just she. And from the first time we met her, she was like that. But when you meet somebody the first time, you never know. Not an act, but is it a bit of performance? Because this whole thing's a performance. But, man, she's awesome. Like a definite, like, ray of sunshine type personality.
C
Caring, very caring human.
B
And Dr. Laurie, I don't know if I said this or not. I know I posted on social media, but she handmade a baby blanket, like, crocheted a baby blanket and sent it up.
E
No way. That's awesome.
B
Yeah. Yeah. Dr. Laurie, a great guest as well. Jody lives here in town, and so whenever she wants to come in, she always has the ability and, like, a free pass to come in. But Dr. Laurie lives in Pennsylvania, Mike. Is that where she lives? I think so. So she's not here very often, but she's on a cruise right now. She's on a cruise?
E
Yeah. I saw on her Instagram, she was like, on one of those balconies. I'm like, hey, I know those balconies.
C
Looks familiar.
E
Looks very familiar.
B
Wait, was she on a cruise? Because it's like a go and get your stuff appraised cruise or she's on a vacation.
E
I'm not sure what it was.
C
That would be crazy.
B
That'd be tough, though, because you have to take stuff, all your stuff, to get it appraised. True. That'd be an annoying packing trip. Ray, play me the other voicemail, please.
F
I told my girlfriend last week when I heard about the show paradise and you talking about it, and we watched all two seasons this weekend, like, I
B
really need some more paradise to come out.
F
Like, that show is nuts. Like, there's so many twists and turns and stuff. You just don't enjoy expect. You're like, oh, my God, this is just crazy, dude.
B
But it's so good.
F
Everybody needs to watch it.
B
I think it's the Best show on TV right now. I said that a couple weeks ago. Season 2 is not over yet, but they have already renewed for season three.
C
Nice.
B
I love that show. Now, I love end of the world type stuff. Like, that's my thing. No zombies in this one or aliens, because those are also my things. But I think paradise to be an ABC show, which they're very safe on those network shows. If it were right to Hulu, because we watch it on Hulu. There's another episode out today, by the way, because I think the show comes out on Mondays. I wouldn't expect it to be as good because it's a network show. They have to play it so safe. But this show doesn't really do that. And I think they probably bleep out some of the stuff because on Hulu they say bad words. That can't happen on abc.
C
I never really thought about that, but you're right. Okay.
B
Mike, are you a Paradise guy? Yeah, I love it. Right?
F
Yeah.
B
Finale's next week already, so we have a new one today in the finale next week.
C
I don't want it to end.
B
Are you caught up?
C
Yeah. Well, I mean, this is.
B
Except for today. Yeah, we haven't seen the one today either, man. Yeah, it's. I think it's the best show. You.
E
Nah, I did season one. I haven't started season two yet.
C
Well, you might as well just wait till it's all finished and then just do it all.
B
It doesn't sound like he likes it, though.
A
Yeah.
C
What are you waiting for?
E
I'm kind of opposite of you. Where, like, it's not really. That's not really my style, end of the world stuff. But I do like it. It's entertaining. I do like it.
B
But you don't have to defend yourself. Like, Amy did show on hbo. We were watching with Paul, Paul Ruffalo or whatever his name is, Mark Ruffalo. And Amy's like, I don't like it. And we're like, we don't like you.
C
Yeah, I was really trying to give it a go. I really was.
B
Yes. Paradise is awesome. If you have Hulu, you can watch it over there. And they did renew for season three, by the way. If you guys want to leave us a voicemail at any time. Host: Bobby Bones
Co-Hosts: Amy, Eddie, Lunchbox, others
Main Theme: Bobby’s first days and reflections on new fatherhood, experiences at the hospital, coming home, and the realities of early parenting.
This special episode celebrates the birth of Bobby and Caitlin’s first child, a daughter named Billy (after Caitlin's dad). Bobby shares raw, humorous, and heartfelt reactions from the first moments as a new dad: from leaving the hospital, driving home, managing sleepless nights, to facing down the diaper-changing gauntlet. The team checks in, shares advice, and listeners call in with congratulations. The episode candidly covers early parenthood highs and struggles, and the profound impact of the new arrival on Bobby’s life.
On naming the baby:
"Our baby is named Billy. B-I-L-L-I-E. That’s also Caitlyn’s dad’s name. So we named it after Caitlyn’s dad, which I guess is Billy's grandpa now. Weird." — Bobby (03:42)
On new parenting teamwork:
"We have a pit crew type thing... I get the wipes, Caitlyn lifts her up, I put the second diaper under... If you want me to swaddle, I can swaddle the crap out of a baby." — Bobby (17:56)
On diapers and money stress:
"Holy crap... how does a parent not go broke? So big shout out to parents everywhere for going through this." — Bobby (09:44)
On social media shaming:
"Apparently I didn't have the handle of the stroller all the way out... Someone's like, 'Hey, moron, pull the handle the stroller out.'" — Bobby (29:38)
On the birth itself:
"It's the single most athletic thing I've ever seen my wife do, and she is a plus athlete... and the baby was crying immediately." — Bobby (33:08)
The episode is heartfelt but loaded with Bobby’s signature self-deprecating humor, candid confessions, and warm interactions with co-hosts and listeners. It’s a celebration—messy, honest, and relatable for any new parent.
This episode marks a huge milestone for Bobby Bones and his family, with an open, funny, and touching look into new parenthood. From the hospital jitters, naming dilemmas, teamwork in the trenches of baby care, to the realities of sleep deprivation and diaper costs, Bobby’s experience is a love letter to parents everywhere. The team’s camaraderie, listener support, and baby anecdotes blend seamlessly in an episode that is both entertaining for regular listeners and comforting for anyone who’s ever felt unprepared in the face of life’s biggest moments. If you want the inside scoop and the real story behind Bobby becoming a dad, this episode is essential listening.
