Scuba Steve
I love tech. You know, I've been a nerd my whole life, but it does have to be for something. Like, it's not just for its own sake.
Nicole Garcia
It's an inspiring story that focuses on people as the core building blocks of the Internet. Listen to There are no girls on the Internet, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

A member of the show.
Simone Boyce
What's up, everybody? Happy weekend, Scooby. Steve is joining me. What's up?
Scuba Steve
Nothing. I'm gonna roast you. Let's go.
Simone Boyce
We're not doing that. We're not doing that. We decided we're. We were talking before this. That is not happening. We're just gonna have a nice, fun, friendly conversation.
Scuba Steve
I love fun, friendly conversations. Everyone's here to listen to that.
Simone Boyce
Exactly what's going on with your life lately? How are you? Work, kids, life? I don't know.
Scuba Steve
I'm pretty good. How are you doing?
Simone Boyce
You doing good? Going on in your life right now?
Scuba Steve
Anything new since we last chatted? I don't remember what we'd last chatted about, but I do know. I know there's something I was supposed to bring up the next time he came around, and I completely forgot what it was, but I'm sure someone will remind us that listens to this intently. But somebody asked a question. I didn't have an answer to it, and I forgot what it was.
Simone Boyce
I knew I normally do get reminded of things, but I haven't seen a reminder of anything. Maybe you ended up being able to answer it.
Scuba Steve
Maybe I did. Maybe it was two ago, then I answered it the one ago. And now I'm just. It's stuck in my brain. But the only thing different is I'm just working a lot more. And I gave up coaching my son's baseball team because I don't have the ability to be there for all the games and all the practices and coordinate and put all together. But then I was like, oh, it's my first season. I get to sit back and watch it and enjoy it. And they send out a text, all right, we need a dad out in the field. We need a dag in the dugout. We need a dad here. Da, da, da. So I was like, damn it. So then I volunteered my time to be the dugout coach, mostly because the dugout is where I feel like it's the most unsafe part of the entire game because everyone wants to grab their bats and swing their bats around because they're, you know, seven, eight years old. And so my job is to keep everyone in line in their batting order, keep everyone Happy and excited. And put the bats up against the fence and don't grab them until it's your turn. But then I also have. I bring this, like, stick so they can warm up. So all the kids are. Have gotten better at batting because they're. I'm teaching them the technique and how to swing, and they have their warming them up.
Simone Boyce
Swing in the.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
When they're in the.
Scuba Steve
On deck.
Simone Boyce
Thank you.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah.
Stephanie Beatriz
Remember the words.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I did step back, but I'm still involved.
Simone Boyce
Okay. Do you give them. Do you bring treats? Because I remember one of my favorite parts of playing softball games, which is so funny looking back on now. I mean, I loved playing softball.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
But every time I'd have a game, my dad would buy me Laffy Taffies Big League Chew. And I get sunflower seeds.
Scuba Steve
Okay. They do. I know there's always an assigned parent at the end of the game that has like a snack for everyone.
Simone Boyce
No, but that's different.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Well, I tell my son if he does well, usually on the way out, we'll stop by the snack shack. And I'm like, what do you want? He's like, oh, I want ice cream or he wants whatever, like a Laffy Taffy or something. So I do reward him at him at the end of the game.
Simone Boyce
Okay.
Scuba Steve
I thought about bringing stuff for the team, but it's not my team to like orchestrate anything.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, that's.
Scuba Steve
So I was like, I don't want to step on anyone's toes. And I just. I'll just be chill and handle the dugout.
Simone Boyce
We can always bring sunflower seeds. That's never a bad thing. I don't know if kids eat sunflower seeds.
Scuba Steve
I don't think they do. I haven't seen any. I haven't seen a single sunflower seed anywhere in the baseball field.
Simone Boyce
Dang.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
I was chewing those things when I was like 10 years old.
Scuba Steve
Me too. I love them. I eat the seeds. The actual, like the shell of it.
Stephanie Beatriz
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
Okay.
Scuba Steve
You know, you don't eat the shell.
Simone Boyce
I mean, I would suck on the. On the shell and then I'd bite it and I'd eat the inside and spit out the shell.
Scuba Steve
Oh, that was too much work. I would just put the whole thing in my mouth and chew it and swallow it.
Simone Boyce
So you're basically growing seeds in your belly your whole life.
Scuba Steve
I don't know. I guess I don't know the long term effects of the shell of a sunflower seed because I would eat the hell out of Those for years on end.
Simone Boyce
That's so funny.
Scuba Steve
It explains a lot of my intestinal issues, probably.
Simone Boyce
Did you never, like, hurt yourself? Because they were always kind of sharp.
Scuba Steve
They were sharp? Well, yeah. You get one stuck in your throat every once in a while, but you just swallow some Powerader Gatorade and you're fine.
Simone Boyce
That is my nightmare.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
I think that would actually, like, put me in the hospital because I'd be terrified that I knew.
Scuba Steve
I knew any other way than to just eat the whole thing. I never. No one ever told me to bite it and eat the inside. Plus, it seemed like so much work for such a little seed. So I just put a bunch of. Who Handful of mouth and just chew them all and then, like, suck on the. The salt and then just swallow them.
Simone Boyce
I am appalled right now that not a single person ever was like, hey, you're. You're not supposed to do that.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. No one ever told me. No one ever said anyone ever stopped me. No one ever, like, there was never sunflower seed shells anywhere in my life. I ate the whole thing. And I'm trying to sell today, like.
Simone Boyce
Do you even eat them as an adult?
Scuba Steve
I haven't had sunflowers and seeds and I don't know how long it's been, but when I do, when I do have my baseball fields or games, I will just chew the whole thing.
Simone Boyce
That is wild. I'm sure there's some nutritional benefit to.
Scuba Steve
It that the fiber and maybe in it.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, maybe. I'm sure there's something good about it because you hear about, like, shells of fruit or vegetables and you should eat that instead of peeling it off or whatever.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
But I don't know. That's always like, the worst part of eating something with a. Out outside cover. I guess they're not all called shells, but, like the outside part of anything.
Scuba Steve
It'S like wood almost. You're basically swallowing pieces of wood.
Simone Boyce
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
Feel like sometimes going down my throat and in my digestive system.
Simone Boyce
And it's weird. You never question it. But also I'm thinking of, like, if I saw another kid doing this when I was playing on the team, I don't know that I would be paying enough attention to realize you weren't spitting anything out.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
Because also the spitting out is like kind of a very quick action, like, just happening.
Scuba Steve
Oh, sorry if I spit over there. Yeah. I remember the first time I saw it. I think I was at either an A's game in oak or when I was living in LA at a Dodgers stadium. And I remember someone like, spit out the shells and I just inside my head, I was like, what's he doing? Why is he spitting out the shells? And there'd be shells everywhere. And I was like, wow, that's a lot of work for a little ass seed. I was like, why don't you just eat the whole thing?
Simone Boyce
Okay, what about peanuts?
Scuba Steve
Peanuts? Like boiled peanuts?
Simone Boyce
No, just peanuts. Like any kind of peanuts that have a shell. Do you eat the shell?
Scuba Steve
Well, usually the peanuts already come unshelled.
Simone Boyce
Like I've been like a Texas roadhouse where they give you peanuts and you have to crack them open and eat them.
Scuba Steve
I've been to one of those and I do crack those and I eat the inside of those. But I'll eat the skin on the outside of the peanut too, because that's a little bit of a texture to it.
Simone Boyce
Okay, well that's, that's normal.
Scuba Steve
And then boiled peanuts. Growing up, boiled peanuts were so popular in Florida. We'd always be driving to New Smyrna beach and along the way there'd be people selling boiled peanuts. And I would eat the whole shell in that scenario as well.
Simone Boyce
I see. I tried some boiled peanuts last time I was in Florida because you see them everywhere.
Scuba Steve
Everywhere, Everyone has them. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
And I don't get the hype behind boiled peanuts.
Scuba Steve
Oh, they're really good. Especially if you get the Cajun ones or the little spicier. There's a spot in Oviedo, Florida. I don't know if it's still there because it's changed so much as I was last time I was home, there was a gas station at Four Corners and they had, there was a combination was this amazing home brewed sweet tea and then the Cajun boiled peanuts. Oh, my God, it was so delicious.
Simone Boyce
I feel like I'm gonna have to trust you on this, though, because I'm telling you, I tried them and I was like, I don't understand.
Scuba Steve
If you get like the regular boiled peanuts, they are gross. It's just a flat taste to it. It tastes like broth.
Simone Boyce
It felt like I was eating a squishy peanut without there being like the fun part of the squishiness of like a marshmallow.
Scuba Steve
Oh, yeah, you need the Cajun. You didn't get the Cajun one, did you?
Simone Boyce
No, I don't really like spices.
Scuba Steve
Oh, then you. Yeah, then you're not doing it right. You' you're eating like old people food. It's like going to Piccadilly and eating, like, mashed potatoes.
Simone Boyce
I'm A baby with spices, so I get better.
Scuba Steve
But just have a couple of them and try it out. Like, live a little bit.
Simone Boyce
Okay. I'll try some Cajun seasoning.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Well, I think they cook it in, like, the sauce is what. It makes it so spicy. So just make sure when you grab the peanut, don't take too much of the. Of the broth or the sabal with it. Just take just the peanut.
Simone Boyce
Okay.
Scuba Steve
And eat it pro.
Simone Boyce
Boiled peanuts tip well. I'm glad you're only weird about sunflower seeds, though, and not peanuts.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
Because I do think I would have questions if you were eating. Like, if you just see you chomping down on whole peanuts, like, hard ones.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
And you're just eating the whole shell.
Scuba Steve
And that's a bigger shell, too, you're having. And I've eaten those to try them. But that's. It's so much more of a shell versus a sunflower seed, which is a little thing. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. That would be wild. But I have heard of people having those conditions where they can eat certain things and it tastes like food.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
So maybe you have a little of that.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Whatever that's called. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
It's a very specific condition.
Scuba Steve
Weirdo, loser, stupid.
Simone Boyce
No, none of those. I don't think you have control over it. I think you're born with it. It's one of those kind of things.
Scuba Steve
Maybe it's Maybelline.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. Also same. Speaking of being a baby, my mouth is still sore. Scuba. I had to have dental work done, like, four cavities filled. I still can't feel my mouth super well.
Scuba Steve
Would you have to have.
Simone Boyce
It's in, like, three days from eating.
Scuba Steve
Candy, like, not brushing your teeth or what?
Simone Boyce
It's really weird. I take really good care of my teeth. But, you know, another side effect, unfortunately, I think of long Covid is I'm just dealing with a whole lot of gamut of problems in my whole body.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
And so showed up. And it's brutal. Like, I still feel. I feel like somebody. When I got done, it was an hour and 45 minutes this whole thing took.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
I got done. I felt like somebody rammed my head over and over and over again into, like, a brick wall.
Scuba Steve
Did you get a root canal or. They were just regular cabinets.
Simone Boyce
Thankful it didn't end up being a root canal. They were regular cavities, but they have to numb me twice because I don't. I don't take the anesthetic well. Like, it fades off very quickly.
Scuba Steve
Is it a shot where they put it in Your mouth, they go. They go. You're not going to feel this. And then you feel it. Oh, my God. I definitely feel that.
Simone Boyce
Oh, yeah.
Scuba Steve
Then I see this long ass needle going into my gums.
Simone Boyce
Oh, yeah. And I close my eyes because I cried. I literally. They're doing it. My whole body shaking and I just had tears. You can't move because they're in your mouth. You just like, see the light.
Scuba Steve
You hear it all and you can feel the vibration. Like, you feel that? Yeah, I totally do.
Simone Boyce
And the vibration I felt like was about to send my vertigo into a spiral.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
First did it and I was like, hold, hold. Please hold. I was like, I'm not sure what's happening right now.
Scuba Steve
You are laying down, so you're supposed to be in that position. You're fine.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, but it was like I looked up and I was like, my eyes are doing that weird thing again. And I was like, are we about to have a vertigo episode? Because I've heard people have teeth work done and their vertigo, like, spirals from kick in.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
I don't mind dentists because I know that the outcome supersedes the pain. So whenever they're like, are you okay? I'm like, just keep effing going. Don't stop. Don't ask me if I have a problem. I will tell you. Or I'll get up or I'll yank on you. Yeah. Or when you're doing the who.
Simone Boyce
That's a good. That's a good sound effect. You're doing really good at that actually.
Scuba Steve
Like, I have a problem.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, see, I. I'm the opposite. You kind of got to treat me like a child in the chair. Maybe it's because I've had so much. Like I had orthodontist and all of that.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
That I just. Having my mouth. I have a really small mouth too. So they have to like, pry it open. Don't be weird. They kept saying they're like, gosh, it's so small. And I was like, I know. Can you just please keep doing what you.
Scuba Steve
A little mout mouth.
Simone Boyce
I'm a little person.
Scuba Steve
Everything's a scale.
Simone Boyce
Then literally, like, I have little hands, I have little feet. I also have a little mouth. I have little ears.
Scuba Steve
Like, everything's little, everything's small. If you had a really big mouth. Yeah, yeah, we have a big mouth. But I'm just kidding.
Simone Boyce
You know, I don't actually though, but they even put these, like, things in there that were like propping it to.
Scuba Steve
Keep little plastic pieces where they go, oh, hold it open.
Simone Boyce
But now I barely can even open my mouth. Like, I try and take my little supplements, and it's literally like I'm putting it through my thing because I'm. My whole mouth is so sore.
Scuba Steve
Do you. Do you eat, like, gummies or anything? Like, kids, like, snacks, candies? I'm trying to think where this would root from because, like, my kids had a problem where they would. They ate a lot of gummy bears for a while, and even though they brushed their teeth, dentist was like, it doesn't matter because they eat it and you're out. Out and about for a couple hours and it starts to rot.
Simone Boyce
No, we just think a lot of the minerals are messed up in my body from all the long hauler stuff that I'm dealing with. And minerals impacted in your teeth too.
Scuba Steve
So, yeah, okay.
Simone Boyce
It's all, you know, we don't know until it's all proven, right.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah.
Simone Boyce
Decades later. But that's a susp that we're having because I went from having zero cavities, I get Covid. I've had, like, 10 cavities ever since.
Scuba Steve
That's weird. Okay, so maybe there is a correlation.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, yeah. It also correlates with my age, too. So there's a possibility that that's playing a factor that I would have had at least a few of those. But, yeah, it's weird. We're in weird times right now with my body, so that's fine. I have another funny story about my body. We'll be right back.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Nicole Garcia
It may look different, but Native culture is very alive. My name is Nicole Garcia, and on Burn Stage. Burn Bridges. We aim to explore that culture.
Simone Boyce
It was a huge honor to become a television writer because it does feel oddly like very traditional. It feels like Bob Dylan going electric. That this is something we've been doing for, like, hundreds of years. You carry with you a sense of purpose and confidence.
Nicole Garcia
That's Sierra Teller Ornelas, who, with Rutherford Falls, became the first Native showrunner in television history. On the podcast Burns Saved, we explore her story along with other Native stories, such as the creation of the first Native Comic Con or the importance of reservation basketball. Every day, Native people are striving to keep traditions alive while navigating the modern world, influencing and bringing our culture into the mainstream. Listen to Burn Sage Burn bridges on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Foreign.
Scott Barry Kaufman
Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the psychology podcast. Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about exploring human potential. I was going to schools to try to teach kids these skills and I get eye rolling from teachers or I get students who would be like, it's easier to punch someone in the face. When you think about emotion regulation, like, you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy which is more effort to use unless you think there's a good outcome as a result of it, if it's going to be beneficial to you. Because it's easy to say like, like you go blank yourself, right? It's easy. It's easy to just drink the extra beer. It's easy to ignore, to suppress seeing a colleague who's bothering you and just like walk the other way. Avoidance is easier. Ignoring is easier. Denial is easier. Drinking is easier. Yelling, screaming is easy. Complex problem solving, meditating, you know, takes effort. Listen to the psychology podcast on the.
Scuba Steve
Iheartradio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. December 29, 1975, LaGuardia Airport.
Stephanie Beatriz
The holiday rush. Parents hauling luggage. Kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then at 6, 6:33pm Everything changed.
Scuba Steve
There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently the explosion actually impelled metal glass. The injured were being loaded into ambulances. Just a chaotic, chaotic scene.
Stephanie Beatriz
In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged. And it was here to stay. Terrorism, law and order, Criminal justice system is back in season two. We're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight that's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Listen to the new season of law and criminal justice System on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey guys, it's Stephanie, Beatriz and Melissa Fumero. And this is more better. We are jumping right in and ready to hear from you. Your thoughts, your questions, your feelings. Socks with sandals. And we're ready to share some possibly questionable advice and hot takes.
Simone Boyce
God sucks so hard though. I'm so sorry.
Stephanie Beatriz
Can you out petty them? Can you match their pettiness for funsies? Yeah, we had so much fun last season. Laughing, crying, talking to some new and old friends.
Simone Boyce
Remember when we were in that scene where you guys were just supposed to hug and I was standing? Oh, yeah. And I was like, can I also hug them? I'm like, this has no friends.
Stephanie Beatriz
This time around. We are.
Simone Boyce
Say it, Melissa.
Stephanie Beatriz
Should I say it? Getting a little more better.
Simone Boyce
Oh, finally.
Stephanie Beatriz
It's all the dressing room talk you loved in season one. All the things. Because aren't we all trying to get a little more better? Listen to more better on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Dr. J
But the humility in knowing that life is his classroom that we should never graduate from is what is going to keep you growing, and that's all that matters. World Mental Health Day is around the corner. And on my podcast, just heal with Dr. J, I dive into what it really means to care for your mind, body and spirit. From breaking generational patterns to building emotional capacity. Healing is a journey and wholeness is the destination.

I'm gonna walk away feeling very healed and feeling like, yes, I'm gonna continue my healing journey and I'm gonna get some keys from you.
Dr. J
Listen to just heal with Dr. J from the Black Effect Podcast Network on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Simone Boyce
So I might have a small concussion.
Scuba Steve
Okay. You playing football or something?
Simone Boyce
Lately, I took my boyfriend.
Scuba Steve
He.
Simone Boyce
He just had his birthday and we went to this play playgr. All these games.
Scuba Steve
The one that has. I saw a video of you doing Bop it.
Simone Boyce
Like real life.
Scuba Steve
Real life. Bop it. Where's this place at? That was so cool looking downtown. Okay.
Simone Boyce
And it's really awesome. They have. They even have a real life light bright. Did you ever do a light bright?
Scuba Steve
Oh, I love light bright. Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
They have an adult full blown version.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. The little black paper. And you push them in. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
Yep. So they have that.
Scuba Steve
What's it called?
Simone Boyce
Play Playground.
Scuba Steve
Play Playground.
Simone Boyce
It's a bar.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
You can buy drinks, you can have food. Yeah. It's a really fun vibe. But at this place, there was like, you know when you have to run on a line and there's these things moving back and forth that you're trying to dodge?
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
Well, again, I'm small, so I'm running. And they're like, you can just hit the thing. Just run like full speed ahead. So I hit it. Well, it's perfect height with me that the handle that it's holding on is right at my forehead. And so I'm running and hitting him. It just goes bam. And I'm like, like, oh, wow. So I, like, run. And I finished the little course and I come back and I look at my boyfriend. He's like, babe, you have black all over your head. And I was like, wait, really? Like, I knew I hit it, but I didn't realize it was that bad.
Scuba Steve
You're so intense in the game you're playing. You're not really thinking about it.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. Like, I knew I was dizzy because I was not Staying on the line. Like I was a little wonky after that moment. And I get back and yeah, sure enough there's. I have a little noggin. That's why they make you sign liability fees.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, you have to be. I was thinking it's on Second Avenue where that's. That bomb went off.
Simone Boyce
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
So that. So I guess that whole area is completely changing and different. There's still some disheveled buildings, but a lot of new stuff up right next to Luke comes category 10. Okay.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. There's a new bar down there that looked really cool. It was this little drive in, fun looking restaurant that I want to go try now.
Scuba Steve
That's pretty cool.
Simone Boyce
But this one was really cool. It's also right next to DraftKings. Because DraftKings has a bar here.
Scuba Steve
Oh, yes. Yeah, they do have one. Yeah. Yeah, I saw that. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
So right next to that. And it's also PBR's like mixed into there. I don't know know. But it was a cool bar. Besides the fact that I pass blue ribbon.
Scuba Steve
Like the beer.
Simone Boyce
No, pbr like professional bull riding.
Scuba Steve
Ah, okay.
Simone Boyce
But I'm not sure what happens there.
Scuba Steve
Okay. I imagine they have those like bowls you can ride on the mechanical 8 second bowl type thing.
Simone Boyce
I don't think so.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Simone Boyce
It wasn't open when we were there. We were there on like an evening.
Scuba Steve
So. Okay.
Simone Boyce
Maybe they just open when PBR is in town.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, they're only open for one. That's expensive rent for. It really was for that.
Simone Boyce
Or maybe it's not open yet. I don't know. But it's all connected kind of right there. Yeah. You would love it. It was so much fun. Just, you know, don't. Don't get a concussion.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
So that's. That's.
Scuba Steve
That'S you.
Simone Boyce
That's where I'm at.
Scuba Steve
Right. I could see the concussion and the after effects of it. You're acting very weird.
Simone Boyce
I am. You know, I've just been going through it a lot lately. Okay. I also start. I started this week like a very mild parasite cleanse. So I'm just, you know, you have.
Scuba Steve
A parasite inside you.
Simone Boyce
Bacteria, viral infections. It's just like we've tried. We've like prepped my body for all these things and now it's like really trying to get everything out.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Simone Boyce
That's supposed to be there.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
And parasites now kind of where we're at, which is weird. And I'd never suggest anybody going to like Amazon be like parasite cleanse and do it. That way that would destroy you.
Scuba Steve
So you put parasites into your body. Are you trying to get them out of your body?
Simone Boyce
Trying to get them out.
Scuba Steve
Oh, gotcha. Okay. When I hear parasite cleanse, I'm thinking like, oh, you're putting parasites in your body to cleanse your body to then clear it out. I'm like, that sounds pretty dangerous.
Simone Boyce
No, they can, like, form from all this bacteria and stuff that's happening. And because I have long haulers.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
That I still obviously have infection in my body.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
And that's what they probably attach to. So now we're trying to get it all out.
Scuba Steve
Gotcha. Okay.
Simone Boyce
So that's awesome. I'm really going through it right now.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, you are. Well, I will say one thing. You didn't die when you went to Universal. I saw those. I saw. There's that guy who wrote that whatever ride.
Simone Boyce
Gosh. I know.
Scuba Steve
Basically the new Dueling Dragons. And I was like, holy crap. But then there's some reports saying that he had already had previous neck and back issues. Which one of the rules is make sure you don't have. You're not pregnant. You don't have, you know, issues with your back or your spine. And I guess he may allegedly did. I don't know. I haven't read it in a while.
Simone Boyce
I know. I've heard. I heard both. I heard that he had pre existing. I heard that he was perfectly healthy.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
And so I'm like, okay, well, those are very, very different.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. What is it?
Simone Boyce
Scenarios. And there was another report of. There was like, impact that happened. And now having rode that ride. It is wild because you are. You're passing the other coasters so I could see if there is something that's not attached.
Scuba Steve
Great.
Simone Boyce
That it could fly off and hit the other one.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
But I would think that they've already been through all of that. And so many people write it multiple times a day up until that moment.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
That none of that was happening. So it's gonna be interesting to see, like, what comes out of it. I think it's still shut down. I don't know.
Scuba Steve
They shut down the ride. It's been closed that whole time.
Simone Boyce
I don't know if they've reopened it. I haven't seen any reports. But at the time it was like, closed down until they finished all their investigation.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Autopsy and all that stuff.
Simone Boyce
And I. We. I haven't seen anything in the news about any further updates on it.
Scuba Steve
That's wild. Yeah, that's really wild.
Simone Boyce
That one's crazy. But I did I. In all on all those signs, every single ride, it says if you have problems with dizziness or.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Or if you're pregnant. Yeah. If you're under the influence, all the things. Yeah. They have all the warnings that say don't.
Simone Boyce
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
And even when they're on the ride, they're even like telling you, okay, if you have. You're pregnant. It says it multiple times. Even like the small rides, like it's a small world. Like they're like, they're so over cautious about it all.
Simone Boyce
Yep. And I saw somebody who was still getting on him and I had vertigo. Now granted that's not a pre existing, like actual internal, but you could pass.
Scuba Steve
Out and black out and then wake up and be like, oh, what the hell.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. But I go on them knowing that. That's my experience. True.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
I do think most people, if you have any of those and you're still riding, you're, you know what's happening.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
But it's super sad. He was like 30 years old.
Scuba Steve
30, 32. Yeah. He's super young.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. So that also made me think that maybe not pre exist really young.
Scuba Steve
You never know though. You can be in an accident, have spinal injury.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, yeah. All assumptions. I don't actually know anything.
Scuba Steve
I have no idea. Yeah, I just saw it. I was like, holy crap. Oh my gosh. Because it just opened that theme park and Disney's probably like, good, come back to Disney.
Simone Boyce
Well, did you see that Disney is announced like multiple additions to all these different parks?
Scuba Steve
No.
Simone Boyce
You haven't seen this.
Scuba Steve
I haven't seen anything about it.
Simone Boyce
Now go ahead and spiral about something really quick while I find my. The post about it.
Scuba Steve
Okay, whatever you want.
Simone Boyce
Just, you know, go to town.
Scuba Steve
Go to town. Yeah, well, I'm. I have an Instagram Instagram issue and it's pissed me off and I've been trying to deal with it for the last three days and I probably need your help and I would need your attention at some point, but I got this stupid thing about two or three days ago. Oh, it just went away. Are you kidding me? This whole time I had this problem here.
Simone Boyce
What was it? What was the problem? In case other people need help.
Scuba Steve
So. And I had. And I tried to multiple times. I had reached out to Instagram because it said you need to verify it's you. I did. I verified my it's me over and over and over and over and it sent me two warnings when you go like, you know how when you go on your Instagram and you click on that little heart. And it shows you all the activity of people who followed you or whatever, that kind of crap. But at the very top of my page, I had two warning things, and it was like, account disabled in two different spaces. And it was something about ads and something else. I took a screenshot. Ads are disabled. Your. Your account is restricted. Promotions are disabled. Your account is restricted. I'm like, I don't ever do ads and I don't do any promotions. I don't buy boosting or any of that crap. So I didn't know what the hell it was. But for the longest time, I would go in there and I had to go through this whole process of putting my phone number in and then getting the code and then my email and getting a code, and they made me take a picture of myself. Like, where you. To make sure it's you. Where you do, like the left and the right and up and down. And then it said that my account was restricted for all these things I don't even use or do. But I felt like it was affecting my algorithm and. And how my things were performing.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, yeah.
Scuba Steve
And I was like, this is interesting.
Simone Boyce
Okay. Well, I will say today, though, if it did go away, Instagram did have some glitches over the weekend. I noticed across the board on all the accounts that I was paying attention to because I was trying to make sure it wasn't just one or the other. Yeah, I did see some glitching happening where just things were kind of not working correctly.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, it was weird because it. Even the image that it used for my account was an image for a show that I did like 15, 20 years ago, and it's not even attached to my account, which was even more weird. I'm like, that doesn't make any sense.
Simone Boyce
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, it was a huge glitch.
Simone Boyce
Unless I guess it was posted on your Facebook page and they were pulling.
Scuba Steve
It could be that too.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, because they're by the same company.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, that could be. Actually makes a lot more sense.
Simone Boyce
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Simone Boyce
But. Well, at least it's solved.
Scuba Steve
It's going. Oh, yeah, I was happy to help. It's like, it's like telling an engineer or like a. Or a. Like a car repair person. Man, I swear, my car does the tick tick, and you get there and it's like running smooth and it's like a brand new car again. You're like, well, that's how it just felt right now, by showing you. Nothing to show you.
Simone Boyce
But you did in a way. And we helped. In case anybody was having some problems on social media this weekend. There was something.
Scuba Steve
There was something. But not anymore.
Simone Boyce
And I did find while you were spiraling. But we're gonna take a break. I'll be right back, and I'm gonna tell you about these.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Nicole Garcia
It may look different, but Native culture is very alive. My name is Nicole Garcia, and on Burn Sage, Burn Bridges, we aim to explore that culture.
Simone Boyce
It was a huge honor to become a television writer because it does feel oddly like, very traditional. It feels like, like Bob Dylan going electric, that this is something we've been doing for, like, hundreds of years. You carry with you a sense of purpose and confidence.
Nicole Garcia
That's Sierra Teller Ornelas, who, with Rutherford Falls, became the first Native showrunner in television history. On the podcast Burn Sage, Burned Bridges, we explore her story along with other Native stories such as the creation of the first Native Comic Con or the importance of reservation basketball. Every day, Native people are striving to keep traditions alive while navigating the modern world, influencing and bringing our culture into the mainstream. Scott Barry Kaufman
I'm Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, host of the psychology podcast. Here's a clip from an upcoming conversation about exploring human potential. I was going to schools to try to teach kids these skills, and I get eye rolling from teachers or I get students who would be like, it's easier to punch someone in the face. When you think about emotion regulation, like, you're not going to choose an adaptive strategy which is more effortful to use unless you think there's a good outcome as a result of it, if it's going to be beneficial to you. Because it's easy to just say, like. Like, you go blank yourself, right? It's easy. It's easy to just drink the extra beer. It's easy to ignore, to suppress seeing a colleague who's bothering you and just, like, walk the other way. Avoidance is easier. Ignoring is easier. Denial is easier. Drinking is easier. Yelling, screaming is easy. Complex problem solving, meditating, you know, takes effort.

Simone Boyce
Remember when we were in that scene where you guys were just supposed to hug and I was standing? Oh, yeah. And I was like, can I also hug them?
Stephanie Beatriz
I'm like, has no friends this time around. We are.
Simone Boyce
Say it, Melissa.
Stephanie Beatriz
Should I getting a little more better.
Simone Boyce
Oh, finally.
Stephanie Beatriz
It's all the dressing room talk you loved in season one. All the things. Because aren't we all trying to get a little more better? Listen to more Better on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.

December 29, 1975, LaGuardia Airport.
Stephanie Beatriz
The holiday rush. Parents hauling luggage. Kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then at 6:33pm everything changed.
Terrorism, law and criminal justice system is back in season two. Simone Boyce
So there are four new parks that are coming.
Scuba Steve
Four new theme parks.
Simone Boyce
Four new, I guess they're like subsections being added into these oh lands.
Scuba Steve
So lands added to the park.
Simone Boyce
Like Tomorrowland, Disney World. So yeah. Yeah.
Scuba Steve
Which one of the Disney World parks?
Simone Boyce
All of them.
Scuba Steve
So all four of them are getting.
Simone Boyce
Three of them are getting them. So. So tropical Americas are being added to Animal Kingdom.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Simone Boyce
You've got Monsters Inc. Being added to Hollywood.
Scuba Steve
Oh, tropical America. Makes sense. Because they shut down the whole dinosaur area.
Simone Boyce
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
They're making that encanto and all that stuff. I heard.
Simone Boyce
Yeah.
Scuba Steve
And you have Indiana Jones taking over the dinosaur ride.
Simone Boyce
Correct. So it's turning into home for encanto.
Scuba Steve
And Indiana Jones, which is such a relevant franchise right now. No, it's not, you idiots. What a stupid decision. I want to rant about that for a second. Why? Because the dinosaurs is so iconic and so old school. It's like one of the ones you don't touch. And I understand why there's flipping it to Indiana Jones because it's a very similar track and it's cheaper and easier to not have to build a whole new ride and just keep what's already there and just change the theming of it.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. Which they've done before for a few of them now.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. And there's already an Indiana Jones and Disneyland, which was. Which was what made Disneyland kind of cool. Because the difference between the parks was always fun. Because it was like. It was a reason be like, oh, I need to go to Disneyland. Because they have a ride over there or rides over there that don't exist over here. Same thing with the rides that are here versus Paris versus, you know, all that stuff. But now when you make everything the same, it doesn't really make it any different and unique. It's the same crap on both parks. And Indiana Jones is not relevant. That's an 80s franchise and a 90s franchise with a couple of failed movies from the 2000s.
Simone Boyce
What could they have turned it into that would have been more.
Scuba Steve
Get the dinosaurs.
Simone Boyce
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Just keep the dinosaurs.
Simone Boyce
There was a reason it wasn't working now. But what could they have turned it into if it wasn't going to be Indiana Jones?
Scuba Steve
They could have built a Zootopia area.
Simone Boyce
Oh, Zootopia would have been good.
Scuba Steve
Because I know they're doing that at one of the other parks. I know it kind of takes away from my whole thing of like to have a different.
Simone Boyce
But they do still do it different. Most of the time they'll add additions or changes to one or the other. So you still want to go and visit both. Because it hurts their bottom line if they don't make them different.
Scuba Steve
Or they could have done something to combat Universal's villains. Do like a villain.
Simone Boyce
Oh, there is. Okay, so one of the lands that's. Well, here let me do monsters.
Scuba Steve
I'm super excited about. I heard about that one. MGM is where that's going to be on.
Simone Boyce
Yes, well, Hollywood Studios. And it'll be their first suspended coaster.
Scuba Steve
Yes. That one I did see. That one was really cool.
Simone Boyce
So, yeah, it'll be called Monstropolis.
Scuba Steve
Okay, cool. I think I said Monstropolis.
Simone Boyce
Thank you. Yeah, that didn't sound right. Coming out of my mind. And I, like. That's why I kept looking at it, like, did I hear that?
Scuba Steve
Monstropolis. Yeah. Monster Olis, the city that they live in.
Simone Boyce
Thank you. A car is inspired.
Scuba Steve
I think it's because you got hit in the head and I just have.
Simone Boyce
Issues, as we've learned. You know, Piston Peak, we've got a cars inspired wilderness racing that's being added to Magic Kingdom.
Scuba Steve
Okay. The same thing as they have over in Disneyland, which is the cars ride.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, yeah. And cars at Disneyland is really cool. That whole environment over there is really cool.
Scuba Steve
Really, really cool. It feels like you're in Radiator Springs, or as you would call it, Radier Radio Spring.
Simone Boyce
Hey, it was a long word. So far, that's pretty good track record for me. And then Villains Land, a dark, immersive realm for Disney's most infamous characters. And that's getting added to Magic Kingdom also.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Sick, Sick.
Simone Boyce
And so those will all open beginning in 2027, and they run through the end of the decade.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Simone Boyce
So I don't know if that means they're just temporary or what, or if they're seeing how they're going to work out or.
Scuba Steve
I'm sure they're. They're putting a whole land in, just building upon it. Because Magic Kingdom hasn't really been expanded in a long. I mean, they've added rides or changed rides, but they haven't added a land which then gives more space, which then spreads out more of the crowd, which is pretty smart. But I always thought they would build another physical theme park, which has been the theory for a long time, is that because they have so much uncharted land that no one's been able to see and you can't. Can't. Can't get to it all.
Simone Boyce
Well, or maybe these are being built on some of that and, like, it's expanding, so you'll have to walk a little bit further. I don't know. I guess I don't realize where they're going to be built at.
Scuba Steve
Probably within the park because there's. Because every. Because behind it, there's so much room. There's all this open land. But I was thinking they were going to build a fifth theme park somewhere. Like a whole new theme park.
Simone Boyce
You know, speaking of, ever since we got back from there, Japan keeps Popping up on mine. And I really want to go to Disney Japan.
Scuba Steve
Me too. I want to go to Disney Japan and Universal.
Simone Boyce
In Japan, they have a real life Mario Kart. Like the Mario kart at the 1. The new EPIC one was cool, but the one at Japan far and above looks better.
Scuba Steve
Oh. So it's different. It's not the same. Because I've been either one of them.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. The one at Epic is. It's cool and you have glasses on, but you're not really driving or anything. The one in Japan looks like you're actually driving and you're on the Mario Kart kind of road.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Simone Boyce
They look different just based on the video that I saw. And they might not be as much. Could just be the way that somebody shot it. Yeah. Decided to show the video. But Japan looks so cool.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, it's. It's. I've heard it's much cheaper over there, too, as far as just the cost of admission, the food, the snacks, merch, and even when you're in Japan, it's more affordable.
Simone Boyce
Is it weird that we want to like. Because I love the idea. When I was in Paris, I obviously didn't go to Disneyland. Paris.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
I don't think I realized there was one there at the time.
Scuba Steve
Oh, no. Okay.
Simone Boyce
I don't know that I put two and two together or was like, this is my first time in Paris. I'm not gonna do that.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
But now I'm like, I want to go to all the Disney's that they have.
Scuba Steve
Oh, my God, I'd love to go.
Simone Boyce
To Disney's because there's one in Tokyo, Japan.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
You have Paris.
Scuba Steve
Shanghai.
Simone Boyce
Okay. That's the other one that's over there.
Scuba Steve
I think there's Shanghai and Bangkok. Is there Bangkok? I know, I know for sure.
Simone Boyce
Shanghai, many Disney.
Scuba Steve
But there's another one too, I believe. And they're building one in Dubai too.
Simone Boyce
So there's six. Yeah. You got the two in the U.S. you got Paris, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, Hong Kong. That's what it was. Yeah. Wuhan China. Epicenter of COVID I'm just kidding. It was not one there.
Simone Boyce
Oh. I was like, what are you talking about?
Scuba Steve
Hong Kong and Shanghai. That's what it is. And then Dubai will be the new one. They'll be the seventh.
Simone Boyce
I guess they're doing another one. Dubai is going to be like a bougie one.
Scuba Steve
Yes, super bougie.
Simone Boyce
How. How are you going to do. Tell me how you're going to do Disney in Dubai. Because all I see About Dubai is that it's the wealthiest, like perfectly put together.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
You know, and I imagine Disney there being. This is very uppity. The rides are like.
Scuba Steve
I don't know, they're like cushioned and padded and there's someone to walk you from ride to ride.
Simone Boyce
They're made of glass.
Scuba Steve
Exactly. Yeah. All the food there has got 24 karat gold sprinkled on top. On the way out, you get a. You get stock and oil.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, basically. Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one that wants to go around the world.
Scuba Steve
I've wanted to do that for the long. I've always wanted to do that.
Simone Boyce
If kids are a little bit older, you can be like, like, we're gonna do a world trip. All the Disney's.
Scuba Steve
That'd be pretty sick.
Simone Boyce
I don't know if you can do it all at once. So I feel like it might be overwhelming.
Scuba Steve
No, I think I'll do like one a year. Like, okay, this year we're gonna do Paris and they're gonna plan because you do like a week there or a week and a half and you would do Disney plus whatever. Everything else and see everything. Yeah. Just to see it, you know, just to be there. And I think, yeah, when my kids are older, then it's. I think it's more conducive for international travel. Because that's a long flight.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. And they'll remember it better. So it'll be worth spending the money.
Scuba Steve
Totally. Yeah. We can do more with them. They can ride more.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, all the things.
Scuba Steve
Oh, yeah.
Stephanie Beatriz
Okay.
Simone Boyce
I had a few random last questions I want to ask you. This will just be fun. Which way does the card in an envelope go? And there's no wrong answers. This is generally just debates that I've had by myself.
Scuba Steve
So I always put the card where the back is facing where you open it. So that way when they pull it out, they can't see the card. They have to flip it around and go, oh my God, that's so awesome.
Simone Boyce
See, I'm the opposite.
Scuba Steve
Really.
Simone Boyce
I put it in face forward. That way when they open it, they see that, like it's a cool card. Instead of seeing like the barcode on the.
Scuba Steve
I know. Yeah. I like the surprise, like the surprise element of them going, whoa. Versus like, oh, it's already there. It is. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
I've always thought about this because I'm just like, I wonder what the actual correct way to do it because truly neither one of them is great.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because. Yeah, you're Right. It is kind of lackluster, but then I feel like because it's lackluster, then you get the boom when you flip it around. Yeah, yeah, totally.
Simone Boyce
Okay. That was my one debate I have.
Scuba Steve
It's a great random question, though. Yeah, it's good. Grade.
Simone Boyce
What is the big deal with male massage therapists? Because I've thought about this. I had one recently. He was great. But you think about it, most guys don't want to go to a male massage therapist, but then women also don't want to go to a male massage therapist. So I feel really bad for the male massage therapists that get left out.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, I don't really care if it's a male or. Or if it's a woman or a man. I feel like sometimes the man is actually better because then he'll put more pressure and apply more pressure and. And because I have, you know, my. My muscles are so sore or whatever it may be, I feel like they will give a better massage because their hands a little stronger and they're not afraid and maybe they're so excited because no one ever picks them and so they're gonna do an extra great job. Like, I wouldn't. Like. I remember one time we were in Vegas and I was walking through the mall and I was like, man, my shoulders are killing me. And this big guy was like, hey, you need a massage? And I was like, yeah, why not? He's like 20 bucks. I sat in his chair and he like, went to town. He was like, point. So you have a lot of knots in your shoulder. I was like, I know. And he was like, really working them through. And it was like one of the greatest massages from a dude. Like this big, massive dick buckets looking guy with hands the size of, like, bananas.
Simone Boyce
Big, massive what?
Scuba Steve
Dick buckets?
Simone Boyce
What is that?
Scuba Steve
Football player? Like, just a big guy.
Simone Boyce
Oh, no, I don't. I've never heard that name in my life. So when you said that was like, is that like a term for something?
Scuba Steve
Dick. But kiss. Two words that sound weird. Dick and but kiss.
Simone Boyce
His actual name?
Scuba Steve
Yeah, Dick. Or I'm sure his name is Richard, but he went by Dick. But yeah, look him up. Dick Butkus.
Simone Boyce
What a freaking name.
Scuba Steve
I know, right? Yeah. Such an old school name. But when you think of Dick, you just think like a really big, burly looking man, you know?
Simone Boyce
Now that you've said that, I kind of, like, pictured him in a way.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, right. A Dick Buckes looking guy. A really big dude. It's fun to say Dick Buckes.
Simone Boyce
What an odd name.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, right?
Simone Boyce
But yeah, you're right. His name is Richard Marvin Butkus.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Talk about getting his butt kicked growing up as a kid and then him whooping it back on. Everyone else says he was bigger and tackle people to the ground. That's right. You just got tackled by Dick Butus.
Simone Boyce
Sorry I really derailed you there, but, like, that threw me for a loop, so.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, it's okay. It's good.
Simone Boyce
Okay.
Scuba Steve
Yeah. So that's a big dude. And gave me great. It was an awesome massage. So I'm not. I'm not one of those people that's like a lunchbox. I will never have a man touch me. Like, I don't give a crap. It doesn't matter to me at all.
Simone Boyce
Okay, so you're not anti male. No, I don't care, but I've heard a lot. So, like, I really just felt bad as I'm getting this massage. I was like, he was really good, and I didn't feel bad or scared at any point in time. It was a good experience.
Scuba Steve
Yeah.
Simone Boyce
I know that some women can and they've had bad experiences, so I get that portion, but the rest of it just didn't quite make sense to me.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, I mean, if you're going to, like, a massage therapist in a shopping mall center and it's in the corner, it's got the weird beaded drapes, and there's some guy in there. It looks like he just. He just stopped watching a porn flick before you came in. Sure. It's gonna be weird. If you've got, like, a really nice experience or a. A hotel one or one that's like, specializes in that. And it's like a whole experience where you go and there's like the shower and the steam room and all that stuff. And then they got the quiet room in the meditation room, and there's a whole thing. You're probably gonna be just fine.
Simone Boyce
Yeah. And that's very much what it was.
Scuba Steve
Okay. Yeah.
Simone Boyce
Yeah, it was. But if you are. If you're like, against this, you're like, you guys are crazy. I don't know what you're talking about. I want to hear it because I'm so curious. The thought behind it. And last question. We're ending on.
Scuba Steve
Okay.
Simone Boyce
What are you an OG fan of? Because Lainey Wilson had posted about one of her oldest fans. She saw her in, like, this massive crowd. She's obviously now playing these big arenas.
Scuba Steve
Oh, yeah.
Simone Boyce
She saw in the front row was one of her OG fans who was at all of her shows back in the day when nobody was. Was there one fan that showed up to everything, empty crowds. And I thought it was such a cool moment that she recognized her and they just had that. But what were you an OG fan of before anybody else?
Scuba Steve
Oh, man. OG fan for anyone else. I'm trying to think, oh, it has to be anything, right? Like, can be.
Simone Boyce
It can be. It can be music and movies. It can be.
Scuba Steve
You have one that you can. You can go with to give me some time to think about it.
Simone Boyce
So this is kind of funny. And it's not. It's really. I don't know that it's full blown OG because I do think she still had fans, but I did see Taylor Swift at a free show with 25 other people from. Won a radio contest to see a new artist. And we showed up and from that moment forward, we were massive fans. And it was like three weeks later that she blew up to be what.
Scuba Steve
She was, to be something massive.
Simone Boyce
But so, like, in that moment, I got to be like a og Like, I was one of the very beginning when she had her curly hair. She was only playing like Tim McGraw and teardrops on my guitar, playing acoustic. And it was a. It was a really cool thing to like, think about in my life now.
Scuba Steve
Yeah, I can't think of anything. I know there's a bunch as I walk away, I'm gonna have a whole or someone's like, I love so and so. Like, yeah, well, I love them back before even who the hell they were.
Simone Boyce
Oh, I know that people love to do that. So that's also what was funny about it.
Scuba Steve
I know I'm trying to think off top of my head.
Simone Boyce
There's shoes. Maybe there's a movie, maybe there's clothing brand. Maybe there's.
Scuba Steve
I mean, like the point Dynamite. I loved it before anyone else loved, loved it. I know it was a cult following at some point, but I remember I saw like the day it came out. Didn't even know what it was. I was at the movie theater. It was back when I was just like, what do you want to see? I was like, let's go see. That one looks weird, Napoleon Dynamite. And then I just kept watching it and watching it. I went to the theaters a couple times to see it. And then when it came out, like on DVD or whatever it was, I bought that and watched it. And then it took a while for it to build up to become something and then became a pop culture phenomenon. And I was like, what the hell? Or another great One imagine dragons. Everyone made. Everyone was like, imagine dragons, they suck. And then they're like, what the hell is that? What even is it? Blah, blah, blah. And then they're on an award show. I think it was like the AMAs or something. And then everyone's like, whoa, imagine dragons are awesome. I was like, you guys said they sucked and you made fun of me for liking them. And now all of a sudden you like, imagine dragons. I don't get that. Another one. I mean, I'm not old school, old school on Jelly Roll because I know he's been around since like, way back in the day, but even like in our industry, like four or five years ago, no one would give him a shot. They were like, no, he does. He's too tatted up. Up. I'm like, he's, he's like, like, he is like a listener. Like, this guy had some struggles and people can relate to that. And he's very normal and real and like, ah, he's too rock or he's too whatever. And I won't name the names of the people who, who didn't believe in him. But I was always like, nah, dude. I really feel like this guy can really resonate with the country audience because he is so real and he's been through a lot of crap and he can. He can tell the stories that he's been through that people can relate to and learn from and grow from him. Like, ah, he just doesn't. The image of him isn't what country music is, and he's just too rock. And I'm like, I don't know. And then fast forward a year later. Oh, we love Jelly Roll. Jelly rolls, the greatest. Jelly roll is going to be everywhere. He's a jingle ball. He's at this, he's at that, he's at festival. Oh, my God. Jelly Roll, come here. I love you. I was like, man, a year or so ago, you didn't want to touch that dude. Now all of a sudden, everyone's all sucking in and they all love him. And I'm like, you guys are talking so much mad crap several years ago about him, and now all of a sudden you're BFFs with him.
Simone Boyce
Okay, how does it feel that you got to be an OG fan of, like, these?
Scuba Steve
Yeah. Now whenever I see him, like, oh, my gosh. I was like, jelly Roll. Like, I gave him this massive hug at festival and it actually was my best Tick Tock video I've ever posted. Like 7,000 views, which is not really a lot but it's more than my other ones, though.
Simone Boyce
Okay.
Scuba Steve
