They drove in from Oklahoma and did Friday afternoon evening all day Saturday. They left Sunday morning. And the great thing is her parents obviously want to, like, be around Billy, hold Billy, do stuff with Billy. So I. I was off the hook on, like, doing that stuff. That was nice.

Little reprieve.

Yeah. Like, I'd have to do bath time. I don't mind doing bath time. Heck, I like doing bath time a lot of times.

They want to do it, have at it. So that's good.

And I always like it when they're in town. I wish they lived a lot closer, but at least they live close enough that they can get in the truck and just drive over. So I think it's eight and a half, nine hours. And they love a road trip. Her dad loves a road trip. I asked him on Saturday night, I said, you dread the drive back home? He's like, no, why would I throw some podcasts on? Just get out on the road. I hate driving. So it was really great that they were in town all weekend and wish they could be here more. And it was really great to hear. Grandpa got to meet Billy because he hadn't yet. Because we haven't taken her to Oklahoma yet. So that's.

So on Friday, we talked about how it had been 20 years since I've been on the show, and I got a lot of really nice DMs from listeners. And I realized after the video went up that you had asked me how I was feeling about it. And it all felt so crazy that it had been 20 years that I didn't address the feeling, but getting the nice DMs. And even my sister sent me a text, like, talking about when it all started back in 2005, 2006, and meeting you at Culver's and being a listener. So, like, that journey of being a listener and then now being on the show this long, the feeling that comes to mind is grateful. So I want to. I just. In getting the DMs from people and having some of the conversations this weekend and reflecting, I have gratitude for how it all Played out and growing up on the show with y', all, I mean, thinking of all the different stages of life that we've been through.

[Bobby Bones]

She was 11 when I hired her.

Oh, yeah.

I know. A lot of growing up, but we've been through, like, so many highs and lows, not just with each other, but with. With our listeners. And that was what was cool to see through some of the notes that I was receiving. So it was just full of gratitude this weekend, thinking of the trajectory I was on. Like, coming up to you at Culver's and being like, are you Bobby Bones? And then giving you an ice cream coupon. Like, I just. I remember my Twitter bio. It probably still says this. I'm just not on there anymore.

I mean, I have it, but I don't. I don't go. I don't post.

That's why I just am thinking, I assume my bio is this. Say hi to people. It could change your life because that's. I said hi to Bobby and it changed everything. Like, I. Who knows where I would be, but it wouldn't be right here. So to answer your question, I'm feeling grateful.

Our old boss Jay, hit me up today. I just texted Amy and she didn't respond. I said, no. You texted a teenage boy?

Yeah, and he's probably gonna call the cops.

That's the guy. That's the kid who has Amy's old number. So I sent him your new number. I saw.

He texted me. Yeah, he texted too. That was one of the notes. And I thanked him for just taking a chance on me and he fired back. That was all Bobby.

So can't argue.

I mean. And then he said. I did. He did say it was all Bobby. I did see what he saw, though. And I'm like, I don't know that you did right away because you had to. You had to fight for me.

[Bobby Bones]

So literally.

Really?

In an alley?

Yeah.

Oh, wow.

Knives, everything.

No, no. We made a rule before. No weapons. Fists only. Yeah, that's cool. Eddie, you.

Yeah, like, so last night my brother called and usually it's like, oh, man, this is going to be a long conversation. Like, I'll call him back whenever I have time. But yesterday I was like, you know what? I have about 30 minutes. We ended up talking for about an hour and it was just a catch up. Like, I hadn't talked to my brother in a while. And it's just funny because the way he keeps it track of me is by watching YouTube videos and he Cuts. The first thing he says, do you have high blood pressure, dude? And you weren't going to call me? I was like, well. I was like, well, it's kind of. I told him all about the high blood pressure, and since he had a stroke, he's like, dude, you have to be careful about high blood pressure. And he's like, where are your headaches? And because, like, you know, I didn't tell him about it. He heard it on the show. He's like, dude, you got to take this serious. So he gave me a whole lecture on my salt intake and all that stuff. So we talked for a little bit. It was good to hear from him. And he says he's got about three days of vacation, so he's going to try to come down and see me at some point or maybe go down to Texas when we're all down there.

[Bobby Bones]

How's he doing?

[Amy]

He's doing really good. He's doing good. He's even. He lives in Pennsylvania, and we're all from Texas. And he moved to Pennsylvania a few years ago, and I don't know why. He just kind of wanted a change of scenery. And now he said, I'm kind of thinking about moving back. But nothing for sure. Just the thought is in his head. I'm like, dude, that's cool. Like, yeah, because everyone misses him. My mom's in Texas, my sister's in Texas. And everyone's like, he's so far away in Pennsylvania. So I don't know. That could be cool. But he's doing really well. Like, his body has recovered from the stroke, which is unbelievable. He says that once in a while he still goes numb. Like, the left side of his foot goes numb or the left leg goes numb a little bit, but for the most part, he's. He's back.

[Bobby Bones]

Can he be active?

[Amy]

Yeah, he's scared of running. He says, just. Because if it goes numb in the middle of a run, he eats it. But, yeah, I mean, he's pretty active. It's just amazing. Like, his strokeiversary, what he calls it, was two weeks ago. And it's just crazy. We talked about that. Like, just how crazy that time was when it all happened because he had a stroke. Then my dad died, and he's like, I just can't believe that I am where I am today. Like, and where I was two years ago, I was in a hospital, like, thinking, like, I couldn't move in my left side and thinking like, this going to be my life forever. And now he's good. So it Was a good conversation and he was talking to me how he talked to like some of his high school friends. They, they did a three way phone conversation which was interesting. He's like, I hadn't talked to these guys in forever. And we did a three, three fo. Three way conversation on phone. Some guy lives in la, another guy lives in Jersey. And I was like, that's cool. I need to start like calling my friends, old friends, college buddies, stuff like that just to kind of see how everyone's doing, man.

[Bobby Bones]

When three way calling was introduced to us, earth shattering.

[Lunchbox]

Yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

We were young. You called two people at the same time. You didn't even need to talk to two people at the same time. You just did it.

[Amy]

Bobby, you there?

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm here, I'm here. And you click again. Yep, got it.

Was this just a girl thing or did guys do it where they would call someone on three way but they didn't know the other person was on and so they could listen in on the conversation?

Oh, that's dirty.

You could do that. But you had to be so good at the execution of three way because as soon as it started ringing you had to hit and hold it down long enough toward connect to the other one but not hang up without there being a click and you had to beat them answering. So yeah, I guess guys did it too, but never was to like get the juice.

Yeah. Today at 2:15 my sister and her three kids land at the airport. They're coming to visit for the week. So just looking forward to that. Having cousins in the house and pure chaos and just more family time.

Well, yeah. Where does everybody sleep?

That's a good question. I think I need to buy. My sister will sleep in the guest room and then the kids will sleep with my kids in their room. But I only have four beds in there so I got to get two air mattresses that will fit in the room because I have a queen size one. But now that my youngest kid has a bed, the queen mattress won't fit on the floor in there. So I got to go buy like two Twin air mattresses. Air mattresses? Yeah.

Are there sizes of air mattresses?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

But if when you're buying air mattress to sleep on, you're not buying pool air mattresses. These are actually in home like sleeping air mattresses, right?

Okay, so Team Tennessee. The boys finished Division 2. They were again undefeated in district and state champions. We went four and two in the World Series and placed fifth overall. And our boys were awarded the 2026 World Series Sportsmanship award.

We made a lot of fun memories and, you know, being there was an accomplishment in itself. Our. Our goal for the boys this year was state champions. We knew they had it in them that just. Or honestly. Yeah. District and champions. But to be in World Series and just to make that memory that these boys will never forget was something incredible to witness.

Yeah, that was like in the 80s. Yeah. When he had a ponytail.

She's like, does he have long hair? I was like, no.

And he really doesn't.

A woman and her 100 pound dog, Sable decided to go hike a mountain in Pennsylvania. They get almost to the top and the dog is in distress, needs help. So she has to call the volunteer fire department. They come up and they carry the dog four hours down to the bottom of the mountain.

So they couldn't get a vehicle to the dog.

[Caller or Guest]

Right. And so they had to put it on a stretcher and carry it for four hours.

[Bobby Bones]

Well, yeah, if I take Stanley, my bulldog, on a walk about a block, that happens.

Stretch your time.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, about a block. And so then I have to carry him back about a block. So now we just go about half a block and then turn around. But that's a whole different situation.

Is this a bat? I mean, can I just say bad idea by the lady.

I don't know what kind of dog that is.

It's a senior dog, 100 pounds. And you're trying to hike it up a mountain.

I would imagine they've done it before, though, if I'm just guessing that she knows this trail and this dog has done it before. And I'm looking at the dog and it looks like, I don't know, kind of like a mix.

What. What makes a dog senior?

Probably over eight, over eight.

[Lunchbox]

Okay. So like my labradoodle is over eight or nine and I would think maybe I could take her on a hike like that. And she's about 80 pounds.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah. A dog is considered senior, 7 to 8 years old.

[Lunchbox]

Okay.

[Bobby Bones]

And it's a pretty large breed, obviously, like lunch was saying, I would think that she's done this similarly and nothing bad happened and the dog probably was just not in a good place.

Yeah.

I'm not going to hate on her for taking her dog for a walk. That's what we're doing now. We're hating on people for just too

I mean, maybe he. If he ever got sick occasionally, it was on the weekend when he was good for him.

I just feel bad for the days he wasn't feeling good. I know because I'm a street guy.
