Bobby Bones
It's time for the good news.
Lunchbox
Tell me something good.
Bobby Bones
Her name's Brooke. She was working at her desk in Champaign, Illinois when her son Clayton surprised her by walking into her workplace after returning from overseas 378 days.
Lunchbox
Wow.
Bobby Bones
He had been away for more than a year. Told his family he'd be unavailable because of a field operation, which is what kept the secret. Brooke said she had no idea he was home until he appeared in her office and spoke to her directly. The surprise came 378 days after they were apart, and he said seeing his mom again helped. These stories are always great wcia, although they're starting now to make fake content of these. Not bad, but you can go. And there are places where you can, like, rent the inside of an airplane, and they always look a little fake. And so there's one video that's gone super viral of a dad sitting on a plane, and his son, his military son, puts his foot up on his dad's foot. He's sitting behind him, and he takes his outside leg and he puts it on the. And the dad's like, hey, man, get your foot off my foot rest.
Producer Eddie
I've seen this.
Bobby Bones
And he doesn't look back.
Lunchbox
So dumb.
Bobby Bones
And he, like, pushes it off, and the guy's like. And he puts it back up again. Let's get off a foot rest. And then he's ready to, like, fight. The guy turns out, goes, oh, my son. So fake.
Producer Eddie
It's fake.
Lunchbox
So fake.
Bobby Bones
It is. You can't tell that dude. You are an old lady on it.
Lunchbox
You watch that and said, oh, that's real.
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Lunchbox
Oh, my God.
Producer Eddie
Why would they make that up? This is a reunion.
Bobby Bones
Even the airplane looks fake. And also, you think two people are going to be sitting on, like, a Southwest flight, and he's not going to realize his son is directly behind him. It's not even like you can hide anywhere on the plane.
Producer Eddie
This is so dumb. Like, I'm not thinking too much about it. I see the video and I'm like, that's funny. That's cool. That's sweet. And I move on thinking it's real.
Lunchbox
Like, how did he get on the plane without his dad seeing him or his dad get on the plane and.
Producer Eddie
Sit in the row, Right?
Lunchbox
He had his whole military uniform on.
Producer Eddie
So you guys are just assuming it's fake.
Bobby Bones
The whole thing's fake, dude.
Lunchbox
It's so stupid.
Bobby Bones
It's like AI videos.
Mike
So is it AI or it's rented and acted out in fake?
Bobby Bones
No, it's not AI, but you can now rent those places to.
Mike
Okay, so now a lot of.
Bobby Bones
A lot of those that you see online on airplanes. Yeah. Just look at the airplane and you can tell if they're fake or not.
Producer Eddie
Oh, boy. It's too much, man.
Bobby Bones
I did make an AI video. I just sent it to Mike I haven't. I want to show you guys it because I haven't watched it all the way through yet. I put it through. Is there a way, Mike, you can show that? I want you guys to watch this because I haven't seen it in its full. It's full capacity yet.
Lunchbox
Well, don't tell Eddie it's AI. He may believe, but I want here he did.
Bobby Bones
You're gonna know obviously this is fake, but I want you to see this. This is how. How interesting AI videos could be. So I'll wait till you pull it up. But yeah, if you get on Facebook. And again, Facebook, dangerous. There's so much what they call slop. And it seems like everybody in country music fights with someone from the View. There's so many of those where it's like, Ella Langley goes on the View and gets right in the face of Whoopi Goldberg. And it's like an AI image. And everybody's like, that's what I'm talking about.
Lunchbox
Whoopi sucks.
Bobby Bones
It's all just to get engagement.
Lunchbox
I almost sent Amy one. I saw that. It was one of those prisoner ones. It was a. A prisoner sees his baby for the first time. And the guard is so moved, he lets him go in and hug him. And I'm like, amy, here's your videos. Here's your videos.
Bobby Bones
Okay, Watch this here. This is me taking selfies with famous country artists. That's Hank Senior there. So I'm walking to take with Hank Senior. Who is that?
Mike
Johnny Cash.
Bobby Bones
Me and Johnny Cash taking a selfie together. Okay, now who is this?
Producer Eddie
Brooks and Denver taking a selfie together.
Bobby Bones
Okay, watch this.
Producer Eddie
John Denver. Dude, this is crazy.
Bobby Bones
Watch this, watch this, watch this. Oh, Dolly. Okay. Me taking a selfie with Ray Charles.
Producer Eddie
They were all there.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, we had one. It's a great night.
Lunchbox
Crazy.
Bobby Bones
Watch this. Willie.
Producer Eddie
Dude, that's crazy.
Bobby Bones
Okay, okay.
Producer Eddie
Kenny Rogers.
Bobby Bones
Boom. There you go. That's me.
Producer Eddie
And so cool.
Bobby Bones
Me and all my country music heroes taking selfies.
Ad Voice
Wow.
Producer Eddie
You know, everybody looks real except you.
Mike
Yeah, but you don't look that off.
Producer Eddie
It's weird. Like, when you walk, it's not you. And then when it stays still, it's Bobby.
Mike
He's not really. He's not really walking. He's, like, skipping.
Bobby Bones
We're at the Opry, like, gallops. I'm in a suit. Isn't that crazy, though? That is crazy because that's Hank Senior on me.
Mike
How did you do that?
Producer Eddie
How was that, Right?
Bobby Bones
What do you mean?
Producer Eddie
Meeting them.
Bobby Bones
It was. It was so packed as you can see it's such a quick picture, but I saw it being done with a bunch of like famous wrestlers and so I just saw a YouTube video on how to do it.
Mike
Oh, they did Ronnie Dirty. The AI Brooks look way younger than Ronnie.
Producer Eddie
Dolly looks like Dolly.
Bobby Bones
When you're moving, it's hard for it to be exactly right. When you get still, it kind of goes back into what it looks like.
Producer Eddie
I like Ray Charles posing for you.
Bobby Bones
Willy.
Mike
He's a little like Zac Efron.
Bobby Bones
That's fun, huh?
Producer Eddie
Yeah, that's awesome.
Bobby Bones
So you can do that with whomever you want, but at the how crazy I am.
Producer Eddie
But see, if I saw that, I would be like, that's half of them are dead.
Lunchbox
Oh, my gosh.
Mike
Well, not all of them, but anyway. No, no, I just.
Bobby Bones
I just text Mike. That's awesome. I don't know why. I was just feeling that. Mike, that's awesome. Yeah.
Lunchbox
All right. And you're not going to post that?
Bobby Bones
I'm going to.
Ad Voice
Oh, I.
Bobby Bones
It was.
Producer Eddie
You have to.
Bobby Bones
It took me a couple mess ups to get it right.
Mike
Like what messed up it.
Bobby Bones
Sometimes it doesn't look like them.
Producer Eddie
Oh, and you.
Bobby Bones
Well, that looks really like as good as I'm gonna get it on me. It looks like me.
Producer Eddie
Will you do me a favor? When you post it, can you say this is not real? Just so people.
Bobby Bones
Eddie comments. Even though we've been through this, he's like, no. He's like, wow, how was I not there? All right, cool. That's what's. Just be careful, everybody. If there's anything that titillates you on the Internet, it's probably AI or fake or scripted.
Mike
I kind of really just like my home.
Bobby Bones
And if anybody's fine with anybody from the View on Facebook.
Producer Eddie
Not real.
Bobby Bones
It's fake.
Producer Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
It didn't really happen. It's always an image of like two people's fingers pointed in the faces are leaning over that view table. All right, there you go. That is what it's all about. That was. Tell me something good. It's time for the good news with Bobby. This Portland firefighter had been living with advanced chronic kidney disease. And Dr. Karen Dowick, retired doctor, never met him and gave him a kidney.
Mike
That's awesome.
Bobby Bones
The connection formed after the doctor was helped by firefighters from his former station following a biking accident.
Mike
Wow.
Bobby Bones
What's funny?
Mike
Just because anytime we do these stories now, Eddie, like, sort of like, no, I'm looking down. He like, looks up into the sky like, you know, like nothing to see.
Lunchbox
Don't see me.
Producer Eddie
That's a cool story, dude.
Mike
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
She later learned of his need for a donor. When her original intended recipient became eligible for another transplant option, the surgery was successful, so she was helped. So she wanted to help him and Eddie. She's, I think, older than you.
Producer Eddie
Yeah. No, that's awesome.
Bobby Bones
But you keep saying you can't do it because of age.
Producer Eddie
No, I'm just saying this year I'm being serious, and I'm not gonna say things that I don't mean. So that's really cool story.
Bobby Bones
Oh, so you're moving off of you're gonna do the things you've said, you're just not gonna say it anymore?
Producer Eddie
I don't even remember what I said.
Bobby Bones
No, no, you do. You're not being serious about that. So you're no longer saying anything about donating.
Producer Eddie
I mean, the first thing I ever, ever said was, that'd be cool. I'd like to do that someday.
Bobby Bones
And then we said, if you'd like to do that someday, why don't you?
Producer Eddie
Yes, someday.
Lunchbox
You said, I wish I could do that someday. And you're like, no, you could do that.
Producer Eddie
It would be cool to do something like that. Yes.
Bobby Bones
And you're no longer saying that.
Producer Eddie
I just want to step away from that statement. You know, just step away.
Mike
He's serious now.
Producer Eddie
I love your story. I think that's awesome. I'm just going to step away from it.
Bobby Bones
All right. That is from kptv. That is what it's all about. That was. Tell me something good. DraftKings Sportsbook, an official sports betting partner of the NFL. Makes every playoff moment feel bigger. We got wild card weekend, so I'm taking the packers over the Bears. I'm also taking the Bills over the Jaguars. That's just two of the games. There are so many games happening. And DraftKings, not only are they the best, but they have your back with early exit protection, which means if the player in your eligible NFL prop bet goes down at any point in the first half, you still get paid in cash. The Draft King sportsbook app. I love it. I use it. Download the DraftKings sportsbook app. Use the code BONES. That's the code BONES. Turn five bucks into 300 in bonus bets. If your bet wins in partnership with DraftKings, the Crown is yours.

Producer Eddie
Sarah is a lifeguard in Florida. She's watching over the beach. Just a normal day. Everyone's playing in the sand, people in the water. Then she notices this paraglider. It's a motorized paraglider. You know, it's got wings but a little motor and a guy controlling it. She sees it and it just. The wind takes it in one direction, makes it spiral. And here comes the paraglider straight down in the ocean.
Bobby Bones
He falls out of it.
Producer Eddie
No, he stayed in it.
Bobby Bones
Oh, it crashed.
Producer Eddie
The whole thing crashed down in the ocean. And so she quickly responds, she gets on the radio, says I'm headed out to help this paraglider. Going to need help. She gets her surfboard, paddles out to this guy. It's a 52 year old man in there. But when she gets there, this is crazy. A snorkeler is already out there trying to help him get untangled. So he, the snorkeler happened to be in that area where he fell and.
Bobby Bones
He'S tangled, he's tangled up crash in a tangle in the water.
Producer Eddie
So the lifeguard gets there with her partner. They get the guy on the board, swim him back to shore, and by that time, paramedics are there. He's good. He said he only had minor cuts and scrapes.
Bobby Bones
Was it the wind? Like, he didn't know it was going to be so windy.
Producer Eddie
The wind just took him out of control, and he just went straight down.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I'm going to pass on parag riding.
Lunchbox
It looks so cool. It does look cool.
Bobby Bones
Oh, it looks awesome for someone else to do.
Producer Eddie
But it also looks like it's safe because you got a little motor and wings. I mean, that's an airplane, but it's not because it's just you and the air.
Bobby Bones
It's probably safe. Generally speaking, if you do it the right way, it ain't for me.
Producer Eddie
What about parasailing? Have you guys done that?
Mike
I've done it.
Lunchbox
Oh, is that the one behind the boat?
Producer Eddie
Yeah, that's the one with a parachute that's getting pulled by the boat.
Mike
I did it in Mexico. I thought I was gonna die.
Bobby Bones
Oh, because it was in Mexico or.
Mike
Because the parasailing, everything involved. But it was our honeymoon. I thought, well, we need to do something fun. So we did it, and we lived. I hated it. I would never do it again. The harness is all weird. Uh, no. I was like, this could be it. I remember when we started to take off. I'm like, this could be how we go.
Producer Eddie
Yeah. How high do you, like, the boat just takes off and then you just start lifting?
Mike
Yeah.
Producer Eddie
That's crazy.
Bobby Bones
You didn't like it at all?
Mike
No, it's not my thing.
Bobby Bones
It didn't feel safe. Was the boat. Was the boat, like, super safe?
Mike
Sure felt fine. We also went, like, snorkeling. I almost thought we were gonna die there, too.
Bobby Bones
Mexico.
Mike
The whole trip was just. Yeah. Yes.
Bobby Bones
I trusted nothing because it was Mexico. Then we went to dinner. I felt like we're gonna die there.
Producer Eddie
It was scary.
Mike
Yeah. This is a risky trip.
Bobby Bones
All right. There you go. That's what it's all about. That was. Tell me something good. It's time for the good news with lunchbox.
Lunchbox
Tell me. Steven Angelini is asleep in the middle of the night. Middle River, Maryland, and he hears a pop and wakes him up. He's like, what was that? Checks his phone, the ring, doorbell, camera. The house across the street is on fire. He throws on his slippers, runs down the stairs, out the front door, and he sees the mom and two children in the second story window. And he's like, drop me, the kids. Drop me, the kids. She drops one boy. Boom. Catches him, drops the second boy Boom catches him. Then the neighbors arrive with a ladder, they throw it up to the house, and they help the woman climb down from the second story. Everyone's safe.
Bobby Bones
Boom.
Mike
Boom.
Ad Voice
Boom.
Lunchbox
That was the pop. That was the pop that woke him up in the middle of the night.
Bobby Bones
Oh, no, the boom was him catching the kids. I think you forget where your booms are.
Producer Eddie
Yeah. What was the pop?
Lunchbox
Oh, I. Oh, you're right.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Yeah. The boom was.
Producer Eddie
He never addressed the pop, though.
Lunchbox
No, the pop was. He said he heard a lord. Pop woke him up. He doesn't know it was the fire, obviously. Crackling.
Bobby Bones
Do you think it's more like a.
Lunchbox
It says he heard a loud pop.
Bobby Bones
Got it.
Lunchbox
That's why I did Pop. He said that he's not a hero.
Producer Eddie
No.
Lunchbox
I think God puts me in a situation to help other people. I did what I would want anyone else to do for my family.
Bobby Bones
I still think it's a heroic.
Lunchbox
I still think it's heroic. But I do like the fact that he put his slippers on. It was like he ran across the street in his slippers, man. At that point, you don't have time to put on slippers.
Bobby Bones
Well, I would, though, because I have sensitive feet.
Producer Eddie
You can just slip them right on.
Bobby Bones
I can't even walk in the driveway.
Producer Eddie
I can't save anyone.
Bobby Bones
I'm going to go back in. All right. That's what it's all about. That was. Tell me something good. This is an I heart podcast.
Mike
