Today we're talking about how you don't have to earn more when you can save more. Okay, so you brought me this stat. T mobile customers had the lowest wireless bills versus Verizon and AT&T over the past five years. That seems surprising.
Morgan
Surprising but true.
Bobby Bones
Which, honestly, is what people need right now. Affordable wireless service isn't a perk, it's a difference.
Doug

Doug
Tell me something good.
Bobby Bones
Had a good weekend? I mean, we had a good Mother's Day. I just didn't want to let my wife down and she didn't have any high expectations. So it was a mix of wanting her to feel like it was a Strong enough. Mother's Day. And it being the first one, I don't know, it was just a weird feeling because she did not have an expectation. But I had one on me and I think I met it. So that's mine. How'd it go? And then we watched the selection show yesterday. Arkansas plays in the regional softball this weekend. There's four teams coming. If they win that, then they play super regional.
Eddie
Cool.
Bobby Bones
But yeah, the selection show was yesterday. Just like NCAA basketball. So they got a pretty good draw. Number five overall, not five seed, top five team in the country.
Eddie
Wow.
Bobby Bones
Which is awesome because the first time my brother in law was. Well, he was at Utah as their hitting coach. It was the first time they'd ever made it to the College World Series as a program. So if he can get him there this year, be Arkansas's first time ever going to the College World Series. It's only top eight teams that would be significant. So that's mine. Nothing crazy, but substantial because we really did have a good weekend. Weather was good. We were going to go for a walk. It was a little hot though.
Eddie
It did get hot.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it did. Especially in the shade. It was so perfect. And in the sun you were like, oh, it's hot.
Well, I completely agree because my wife on Mother's Day, she's like, we should go for a walk. I'm like, whatever you want. And I went outside with the dogs and I was like, I think it's too hot. And so we thought about going at like 7 or something. And then we're tired at 7, so we didn't. That's it. That's my. Tell me something good.
You probably taking some time. On Saturday we went to downtown Franklin, which is like quaint little town south of Nashville. And the downtown is just so cute. There's lots of shops. We met some friends down there and then went to the ice cream shop. There's like a little, you know, old school shop. And my son was all excited because he remembered his lactate. For a minute he thought he forgot it.
Been there. Stevenson.
Eddie
And then lactose intolerant too.
Bobby Bones
My wife will carry it with her too in case I forget because I've done that before.
Producer
You?
Bobby Bones
Yep.
Yeah. He keeps extra little tablets or tabs in his wallet, like where I guess a photo would go. He's got his lactate or his driver's license.
How bad is his?
His stomach will get pretty upset. At first I thought it was kind of in his head. I wasn't sure. I was like, ah, you'll Be fine. And then I'd be like, okay, now we're in the bathroom for 30 minutes. I get it. You definitely should avoid it.
Yeah. And I don't even know that it's just dairy. I ordered a whole pizza yesterday for lunch. My wife and I ate on different lunch schedules because one of us eats while the other one was with the baby. And so I can say this about my wife is that when she. If I'm not home for seven or eight hours, I go home and there's like a couple bites at a different parts of food, just around the house where she's only been able to eat, like, a little bit because she can't sit down and have a full meal. And so if I'm there, we switch off. And I said, hey, would you order me? Order from Blaze A. I guess it's a vegan, but as pepperoni. We just add the pepperoni.
Oh, you get the vegan cheese.
Yes. I have to order a vegan pizza,
Eddie
but add the pepperoni.
Bobby Bones
But add the pepperoni. And I think they're confused because I'm literally putting. Putting meat on the vegan pizza. I don't know if they. I'm not sure, but it hit me hard yesterday. I wonder if maybe they put the wrong pizza in the box because I. I was in there 40 minutes.
Oh, no. Yeah, that's tricky. Like, if you're ordering it, you just have to trust. Unless you can tell the cheese.
I can't tell.
Okay.
Eddie
So it's that good, huh?
Bobby Bones
Their vegan pizza with added pepperoni tastes as close to a regular pizza as any pizza I've eaten.
Eddie
That's amazing.
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Eddie
So they usually taste so different.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. But there's been great growth in fake cheese. And it's not fake, but it's almond cheese or whatever.
Morgan
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
There's cashew cheese, almond cheese.
The great growth. Some people say that maybe Stevenson can too. There's different cheeses that are animal cheeses that aren't from cows that we can eat.
Yeah. Like sheep or goat are easier to digest.
I'm just afraid to try that because I'm never in a place where I'm like, hey, if I got the poops for an hour, that's okay. Like, I'm never at a place where that feels, like, acceptable. So I never just go for that experiment. But he ate ice cream and no problem.
Well, he had his lactate.
I know, but still, even if I take lactate, there's still a tenth of a problem.
He's good. So for me, like, going down there and walking around and just with no agenda, just chill. And it was a beautiful day. Like, that was something we haven't done in a couple years. Honestly, I feel like I forget to go do that. And it's just a reminder of, like, there's things either near your town or where you are, where you just go and kind of act like a tourist, because I feel like that's what a lot of people there. You know, even at the ice cream shop, some guy was like, where are y' all from? We're like, here right down the road. Right. Because he probably was used to talking to a lot of people that were visiting. So explore your area. I. Speaking of, I saw. We watched Devil Wears Prada, the original, last night. Because just to refresh it before, if we decide to see it in a theater. And I have the Hulu version where you have to see commercials, and there's. There's an Arkansas commercial that keeps popping up. Visit Arkansas?
Oh, yeah, yeah. Does Ben Rector song play, or is that just the University of Arkansas?
It's pretty quick. They must be getting those 10, 15 second pops. Like, I'd be like, that's it. I want to know what else I can do in Springdale.
Yep. Up there by Fayetteville.
Yeah.
Yeah. It's a great place.
Yeah.
Eddie
Looks Ben Rector does the celebrity cruises, too.
Bobby Bones
I've heard that he sings the song for it.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah, yeah. He makes a lot of money through sync. That's what it's called whenever you do music that gets used in commercials. But he does songs on records, and then they buy those songs. Some people, like Brandon Ray, who works with me and is an artist, musician, he makes music for commercials. Or they will hire him to go, hey, will you write a song for a cruise? And he'll be like, I'm on a boat with the cruise. They put it on a commercial. It's cool. All right. I feel like I had something I was gonna say to that. I don't remember, though.
Ice cream.
Oh, no. Devil was. Last night, my wife and I were talking, and she was like, we should. She said, first we should go watch devil wears Prada 2. And then she goes, we wouldn't do that because it's in the theater. We don't. We don't have childcare right now, so we won't. She goes, like, when it streams, though, we'll watch it. I said, I've never seen one. And she said, you've never seen Devil Wears Prada? I said, nah, I don't know if it would interest me. She goes, first of all, that's my friend who Anne Hathaway plays that character based on Caitlyn's friend. She goes, secondly, it's really good.
Yeah, Stevenson even liked it. And I wasn't expecting him to be that into it. And he's a 15 year old boy and like there were moments he was laughing and he thought of the storyline.
Would I like it? Yes, I would.
Producer
What is it about?
Bobby Bones
Well, loosely, like it's called Runway magazine in the movie, but it's sort of picture Vogue and Anna Wintour and her assistant and coming into the fashion industry and the main character, she doesn't. She's a journalist, she wants to write. But there's this opportunity to be the Anna Winter character's assistant. She comes in, but she's not very fashionable and it's about her trying to fit into that world.
Producer
Got it.
Bobby Bones
And the. Yeah, it's kind of, I don't know, it's just cute. Like there's a little love story mixed in as well.
Adrian Gunner. See the love story.
Yes. That's her boyfriend.
Eddie
What?
Bobby Bones
I like one. I think you wouldn't love it, but you would like it enough to watch with my wife if she's like, let's watch one.
Morgan
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Well, enough to watch. So then we can watch two together when it streams. Yes. What's coming out soon in stream?
Timbo
Oh, the.
Bobby Bones
That Ryan Gosling.
Eddie
Oh, Project Hillary.
Bobby Bones
That come out soon, stream, surely. But it's still making so much money. Like they won't stream it if it's still like pouring in cash.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I think you can buy it now for 20 bucks.
Eddie
No way.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I'm in on that.
At least tomorrow. Yeah. All right, tell me something good. I finally get to watch that movie.
That's good.
All right, Eddie, what do you have?
Eddie
Yeah, so My son, my 12 year old, he's been doing AAU basketball for three years. They've never ever won a championship. They've gotten close. They made it to the championship game multiple times. But finally this Saturday, they won the whole thing and it was him and another boy. They've kind of been on the same teams together and they're the same boat. They have not won any. So both of them were so excited that they finally won their first, first championship. And it was cool, man. Parents got emotional, the kids got emotional. It was really cool to see. That was awesome. But the best part of it is that because of Mother's Day, they moved all the tournaments to Friday and Saturday.
Bobby Bones
Oh, wow.
Eddie
So for the first time ever we've had Sundays just off.
Bobby Bones
You liked that?
Yes.
It didn't feel like double up on Friday or anything was cool?
Eddie
Nah. Because Friday, kind of like you're done with work or whatever, and then you just go do a couple games and then you have Friday night to do whatever. Right. And then Saturday early games done is over. But like, usually when it's Saturday and Sunday, it's just takes your whole weekend away.
Bobby Bones
I mean, we never won anything. In high school. I would see people winning state championships all the time right here. Like, I talk to friends like, yeah, we won state in my junior. We never won anything like that. We never even. No teams at my school did. Thinking of thinking back, like our baseball team, we got to. We won district and we got to regionals. We got crushed at regionals. In regionals, if you win regionals, you go to state.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
High school football, we made the playoffs. We got the most. The first we ever got was second game. Basketball. Never won state. I would go and walk. I didn't play basketball. I would go and watch. We never won anything. Did you guys ever win anything at your school?
No.
While you were there, did they ever win state championships? Anything?
Producer
We won golf, state titles.
Bobby Bones
We didn't have a golf team.
Producer
Our golf team was unbelievable. Yeah. One dude played on the PGA tour that was a year older than me.
Bobby Bones
From your high school?
Producer
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Wow.
Eddie
You didn't play on the team?
Producer
No, I didn't play on the golf team. And in soccer, we made it to the regional final, so we were in the state quarterfinals, but we lost. And then that's it. Nothing else. One state that I can think of. Football, we didn't win a game our senior year.
Bobby Bones
That hurts.
Producer
Baseball, we'd make the playoffs, but we didn't win softball playoffs. But then that was it. Just golf.
Bobby Bones
Anybody have state champions at their school? Anybody?
Not that I. No.
Eddie
I mean, it just seems my kids have.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Well, good for them for winning their.
Eddie
It's his first one. Yeah. Like my 11 year old, they've probably won seven games, seven championships, but they've been together from the very beginning. Like my. My 12 year old, for some reason, he just gets moved from team to team to team. So every year it's just a whole new team that like. And it's taken them, I don't know, five tournaments to actually get it together, which is kind of cool. Usually never happens, but that's awesome.
Bobby Bones
Lunchbox. Tell me something good.
Producer
Yeah, I just saw a news story. Buffalo Wild Wings, you can go and get 999 bottomless apps. And let me tell you, they got three boys for a group, by the way. Yes, for a group. It's not per person.
Bobby Bones
They had this group. They had to come out and say that, like, this is not per person. It's for everybo.
Producer
And so, I mean, I want. Like, my kids are getting into watching sports now. They're 7, 6, and 4. And so I am, like, I can go on a Saturday maybe and just sit there for an hour or two and have them watch baseball and basketball, and we can eat for 9. 99. Oh, boy. Sign me up. This is going to be awesome.
Eddie
It's a big deal.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I hope it doesn't Red Lobster them.
Eddie
I'll break them.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Because remember that, like, the endless shrimp. And they had bankrupt for a little bit.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So, yeah, it was in the news because they had to say it's $9.99 per group because most people thought it was per person, but. Yeah, but it's only. It's only one app at a time, though. Oh, I'm pretty sure, like, you order an appetizer and you get that one Unlimited for $9.99. You don't just get everything for $9.99.
Producer
I read it as you get every app you want for $9.99.
Bobby Bones
It's mix and match appetizers.
Producer
That's what I mean.
Bobby Bones
It's only a couple. And serve two at a time for one price. It's probably. It looks like it's somewhere in the middle of what we were both thinking. Okay, so you can get two, but it's only for up to four people.
Producer
That's fine.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Any extra guests are $2.99 each.
Producer
$2.99? That is crazy.
Bobby Bones
Fried pickle. Here's. Here are the options. Mozzarella sticks.
Eddie
Love them.
Producer
Yep.
Bobby Bones
Onion rings, fried pickles and chips. Yeah. So those four are what's in it.
Producer
Yeah. Chips and dips. Oh, my goodness. Bring that on.
Bobby Bones
You can upgrade, though, because some of the other ones, like guacamole. Cheat. This is not a commercial, by the way. I promise you. There are upgrades to 1299 per group, which is not a bad.
Producer
No, it's not bad if you want the guac. Yeah, I'll take it.

Morgan
Yeah, I also had a really good weekend. I went to Russell Dickerson on Friday, which is the first a sin outdoor show this year and then I went to Steeplechase for the very first time.
Bobby Bones
The Russell Dickerson show looked fun because it was his birthday, too.
Yeah.
Morgan
And it's like, you, Bobby, you would love this show because of. It's, like, all interconnected with WrestleMania. So he basically acted like he was a pro wrestler the whole show. He was ripping off his shirt. He was wearing ridiculous things.
Bobby Bones
He's also Jack now. Yeah, he can do that, so it works.
Yeah, yeah.
We did some shows back when Eddie and I were playing a lot. And Russell was the. Not the opener, but the middle act. We had him come out and be main support for us. And he was way too good for that. And his show was getting so big. Then we're like, dude, you shouldn't be opener for us. Like, he was really starting to pop then and now. Yeah, it's cool. He had a really cool picture on his Instagram of him with, like, this big flying V guitar. He's just such a positive guy. I think I root for Russell so much because he's that dude in real life, too. He's such, like, a warm, positive, like, anybody can do anything type guy. It's pretty awesome.
Yeah.
Morgan
And it was cool to watch him just get at. It was packed at that show being his birthday show. It was his, like, hometown crowd. And he also just released his song with Fetty Wap, which was a huge deal for him. Cause that had gone viral. And so he was, like, super emotional throughout the whole night. And it was super funny, too, because Thomas Rhett came out and pretended to be Russell Dickerson. Apparently, he lost a bet to Russell and had to open for Russell Dickerson. So he came out, he's like, I'm Russell. And he played a song and then he left the stage. So it was just a cool night.
Bobby Bones
Everybody loves him. All his friends will come out and open for him.
Eddie
That's cool. I mean, he's such a nice guy.
Bobby Bones
I saw his wife post something. Like, the last time he played Ascend, he was the opener for the opener. For the opener. And then now he was headlining, so that was cool. Yeah.
Morgan
And Tyler Hubbard opened for him, which I thought was, like, interesting.
Bobby Bones
Opened like a whole set.
Morgan
Yeah, he had a whole set. So like an actual official opener. And he played Cruz, which was. I didn't anticipate. I didn't think he'd play any Florida Georgia Line songs, but he did.
Bobby Bones
I don't know their agreement. I know there are bands that I. That I know that have split apart and they have an agreement that either one of Them. Their shows, when they're alone, can only be like, 18% of material that they had with the band. So I don't know the FGL agreement. They can. I'm sure they can play one or two of their songs, no problem.
But aren't they, like, doing stuff together again?
They did for Aldean's.
Yeah, I saw.
Because they wrote.
I thought that was like a. A subtle. Like, hey, we're.
Producer
We're getting back together.
Eddie
Yeah. Aldean brought them together.
Bobby Bones
Well, it was.
Yeah, like, first, a lot of his friends played his songs for him, and I'm pretty sure Tyler Hubbard has written some of Aldean's songs. Maybe, maybe not. But Tyler Hubbard writes a bunch of songs for other people. But they're friends with Aldean, so they. A lot of Aldean's friends played Aldean songs for him that night. So that could. Yeah, that could have been it. But I don't know. It'd be weird because. Yeah. See, Tyler Hubbard wrote. You make it easy, you make it. Burning it down.
Eddie
Really.
Bobby Bones
Lights, come on.
I'm just doing my thing.
Yeah.
Eddie
Naked in my bed.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Yeah. So whoever.
Eddie
You wrote that line, Naked in my bed.
Bobby Bones
When that song first came out, I remember we were all so like, this is awkward, but it's such a jam. But it took a min.
They change it from naked in my bed.
Eddie
Nah.
Bobby Bones
To, like, the radio version.
Oh, there is a radio version.
Eddie
Yeah, but I thought the radio version said naked in my bed. I don't know, because I wouldn't have heard. I wouldn't have listened to that song. Not on the radio.
Bobby Bones
Laying in my bed. I don't know if there's an edited version.
Eddie
No, I think she's naked in his bed.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
Yeah. I always thought it was him. And I'm like, oh, I thought it was him, too. Yeah, dude.
Bobby Bones
It's not him. Until right now. Until right now, I thought it was him.
Wow.
Eddie
Y' all.
Morgan
Both.
Bobby Bones
Y' all both on your own were picturing Jason.
Eddie
She's like, I'm just here doing my thing.
Bobby Bones
Laying right here naked in my bed. I'm just doing my thing. I think technically they're correct. Yeah, maybe both. But I thought it was just him naked. And she walks up and he's like, I'm just here.
Eddie
And I was like, that's pretty gutsy of him to write that line. I'm just here naked in my bed.
Bobby Bones
I never thought about it being the girl. Did you think about it being the girl?
I guess I thought about it Being them.
Her.
I definitely had not ever pictured Jason Aldean.
I only thought of him naked in his bed. Same.
Eddie
That's why I was like. Not my. One of my favorite songs, but you know that line.
Bobby Bones
What did you think, Morgan?
Morgan
I thought. I thought it was them, like, aiming like they were doing it.
Bobby Bones
Oh, they are. But I thought it was just him. Like, I'm naked. Does this turn you on?
Oh, see, I didn't think they were even doing it. I thought they were just, like, everyone
Eddie
had their own thing.
Bobby Bones
Like they were in the sheets, were covering them. In my mind.
Eddie
No, not me.
Morgan
Like a movie scene.
Eddie
In my mind, it was the sheets. Just Jason right there naked in his bed.
Bobby Bones
Same. Just chilling.
Same. On top of the sheets. So there were sheets, but he was on top.
Eddie
Wow.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Okay, that's. Tell me something good. Everybody good?
Yeah.
Eddie
How was steeplechase? Is that fun? I've never been to that.
Morgan
It was really fun. It was like a giant frat party, though, man. Everybody was so, so drunk.
Bobby Bones
One of my friends said it was a.
Those that don't know what it is, because I don't think you know what it is unless you're here. It's a horse race. It's like very, very junior varsity fake Kentucky Derby.
Eddie
But they jump over things, right? Like that. That kind of horse race.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, but everybody was just drunk and partying.
Morgan
Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I think I was one of the only sober ones there. And it was fun to watch. It was cool to watch the horse racing part, just to see him, but it's. It's a blip. They run by, and then it's over. And it happens.
Bobby Bones
It's only one race. Oh, five.
Morgan
There's five races. But you see him for the. The track is so big, and you're in the infield, and so you just see him run by for one second, and then you're like, okay, gotta wait another 45 minutes for the horses to run by again. So it's just.
Bobby Bones
You don't see them the whole. The whole track?
Producer
No, it's a big track.
Morgan
It's huge.
Bobby Bones
I've been out to where they have it, but I don't know, because they have, like, the little.
Producer
Well, I think if you're in the stands, you can see. But Morgan is down in the infield where it's sunken. And you can't see the whole track because there's tents and everything. And so she. You see them just right where they run by. But if you're in the stands, you can see the Whole track?
Morgan
Yeah. You can, like, if you're up in the grandstands or people up there, but the infield is where all the parties and everybody's hanging out. That's where Big 98 had a big stage there for music. So you're just, like, hanging out in the infield.
Bobby Bones
How much did your hat cost?
Morgan
Oh, a lot of money.
Eddie
What?
Producer
You had a big hat on?
Morgan
Yeah, I didn't. They gave it to me.
Bobby Bones
Who? Who gave it to you?
Morgan
The. Her name was Christine. She's like the official milliner of the Kentucky Derby, which I didn't even know what that was.
Bobby Bones
What's a Milner?
Morgan
I guess Maker.
Bobby Bones
Does she have a business?
Morgan
Yes.
Bobby Bones
What's it called?
Morgan
Yeah. So Gus Meyer here in town is where she kind of operates out of.
Bobby Bones
How much did the hat cost? How much? What did it cost?
Morgan
$1200.
Bobby Bones
Did you pay for it back?
Morgan
I don't have to give it back, and I did not pay for it.
Bobby Bones
Wow.
Producer
Crazy.
Bobby Bones
That's why. Great. It was.
Morgan
Oh, it was crazy. Yeah. Gus Meyer. Her name was Christine. She. It's huge. The hat was so big.
Bobby Bones
I saw the box it was in first.
Morgan
It was as big as a body.
Bobby Bones
It looked like she was carrying a tire out of there.
Morgan
Yeah.
Eddie
And what a milliner is a hat maker.
Producer
Oh, my gosh.
Morgan
It's huge.
Bobby Bones
Huge.
Morgan
And I gotta choose it. But, like, I didn't. I don't think I realized how big it was until I went to pick it up and I was like, it had to be in the. Put in the back of my car.
Eddie
How did you get in touch with her? Like, how did all that happen?
Morgan
Big98 connected him.
Eddie
Wow, that's cool.
Bobby Bones
Pretty cool.
Producer
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So they made sure that you were able to play the part since you went out as, like, a representative of the station on the show.
Yeah, yeah.
Morgan
They were like, you're coming out to host the stage and do it, so here's a hat for you. And I was like, okay, this is cool. But now I'm like, what do I do with the hat?
Eddie
Wear it everywhere you go? Wear it to dinner everywhere you go?
Bobby Bones
No, I think you just put it in the house somewhere where there's a. Take it out of the box and you find a place where you can hang it. And it's just a part of the decor. Yeah.
Morgan
Okay.
Bobby Bones
And then if you.
There's really nothing else you do any
Morgan
horse race, you go to take it off the wall.
Producer
Wear it on your wedding day, like,
Bobby Bones
if you ever go to the Kentucky Derby. Derby. Oh, I saw this video. Churchill Downs is where that is, right? Yeah. Is this video of, like, this guy going around to people at the Kentucky Derby, what's your biggest flex, money wise? And this kid was like, I don't know. He probably clicked 20, 21. He's like, Churchill. It's my last name. That was his biggest flex. He's like, this is my family.
Eddie
Oh, wow.
Bobby Bones
Some people were like, oh, I got this necklace. It's $180,000.
But he was like, that's a big one, too.
Yeah, there was definitely big flexes, but it just made me think of where the Kentucky Derby is because he's like, my last name. I was like, dang.
Morgan
Oh, there's some, like, wealthy families out there. You'd see the families that own the horses kind of hanging out, watching their horse.
Bobby Bones
And did you bet on them?
Morgan
Yeah, the people are betting. I don't think there's, like, a betting slip there. And maybe there was up in the grandstands, and that's where I didn't see it. But you could bet, like, online,
Bobby Bones
because you can bet through, like, DraftKings. Not for this, I don't know. But I'm saying there. You can gamble in Tennessee, where we live, and in some states, but there's certain restrictions. And I didn't know if you could bet through. I don't know.
Morgan
Well, and I don't know. All I did was hear a bunch of drunk people talk about betting. So I don't know if it was,
Jen Hamilton
like, a legal way, if they were
Morgan
betting with each other, if you know, that kind of situation, but people were betting on the horse races.
Bobby Bones
Oh, that's good. There you go. That's what it's all about. That was. Tell me something good. People love Jen Hamilton. She's a labor and delivery nurse. Tons of experience, massive following on social media. And even for me, like, I've been learning about what, how and how postpartum affects every mom differently because my wife just had a baby and I was talking to her about this. Let's go on the Bobby Bones show now.
Doug
Jen Hamilton.
Bobby Bones
I was watching a video that I thought was really compelling, pretty moving, and. And someone had, I guess, left a message for you or maybe in DMS about postpartum. They weren't doing well. And again, I have no experience with this until the last few weeks or so, so I've actually been talking about it with my friends, too. And I have one friend whose wife was extremely depressed. We've been very fortunate as my wife's been very emotional Postpartum, but hers has been very, very, very positive, like, so happy that it makes her very, very emotional. I guess my question is, with someone who deals with it a lot, is it just a crapshoot on what's going to happen after you have the baby?
Jen Hamilton
It really just. Just honestly depends. And you never know how it's going to affect you until you meet yourself postpartum. I'll say that I think, at least in my personal perspective, I think that there's a lot of postpartum depression and anxiety that begins from not having an awesome birth experience or one that you truly understand, or having a lot of questions around what happened to you. So I try to do my part with the patients that I take care of in and not only making sure that they fully understand what's happening, that they have autonomy over their choices and over their body, but also helping them understand what things they may experience in the postpartum period. As far as looking for those signs of, you know, those intrusive thoughts. And sometimes you think of things that you never, ever thought you would. Like, what if I put my baby in the freezer? Like, of course that's something you're not going to act on.
Eddie
So.
Jen Hamilton
But it could be if. If you kind of let these things linger. So I let that kind of be like the. The trigger to say, hey, I'm having thoughts that I never thought that I would. Or like, if you feel like you're not even able to relax or you're not able to. To feel joy in these moments that you feel like you. That you normally would, that letting your people around you know how you're feeling, especially letting your care team know how you're feeling and that there are res for people. One of the resources that my sister had to use was something called Postpartum Support International, or psi. They have an incredible network of resources to help new moms who are struggling with these feelings be able to get connected to those resources and find a way out. Because, yes, postpartum depression and anxiety and sometimes even psychosis does affect a lot of people, but it doesn't mean that it has to. To take hold and become such a huge part of your life. Like, there are resources, and the sooner that you recognize that you're feeling off and the sooner you get help, the sooner you can feel better.
Bobby Bones
Is that something too, where if you go and you're pursuing medication that there's not like a single medication that fixes it? Right? Is it something that at times you may have to bounce around until you Find the right thing.
Jen Hamilton
Yeah, I mean, there's definitely some that they, that they can start with or that are more popular than others. But the beauty of getting, getting help is that your care provider can work with you to figure out what the right combination, if there is a combination, or the right medication, the right resources that are available so that you can find what works for you. It's not always a one size fits. All
Bobby Bones
right, that's Jen Hamilton. If you want to hear the full episode, go search for the Bobby cast. Wherever you get your podcasts, just hit subscribe. You can also watch it on Netflix, but it's about an hour and it is awesome. It's time for the good news with Amy.
Shout out to a group of students at Salt Lake City High School because they rallied together to surprise one of their classmates, Jane, a 17 year old with down syndrome, with the ultimate promposal. They work with her at a tutoring program, like a peer to peer thing. And so they've gotten close to Jane and they knew she wanted to go to prom, so they found her a potential date, this guy Carter, and he showed up at her house on a pony.
Oh, dang. That's awesome.
In apparently she reacted with so much excitement. She kept repeatedly saying it was the best night ever. Best night ever.
I thought when it was a promposal story. I don't know, I might be a little annoyed.
No, but this is special.
That's a good one.
And like all the students coming together to make it super special and then sharing it online. He's holding a shield up on the phone.
He's holding a shield up.
It's like her knight in shining armor.
Yeah. And to me, that's the Saints logo. It's not the Saints logo, but that's what it is.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
That's really great.
The Florida Lee.
Yeah. Yeah, that's what that is. Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't. If you would have asked me what it was, I don't think I would have known that.
I only know because that's my sorority flower. Kappa Kappa Gamma.
Huh.
That's like one of the things I remember about sorority life.
Were you active in your sorority?
Not so much, no. I mean, I showed up to things, but I wasn't like, all in. Like, I see adults my age now that go back to their sorority house for various events.
Producer
Weird.
Bobby Bones
No, I don't think it's weird. I think that.
Producer
No, they're weird.
Bobby Bones
That's like part of their thing. Like, sorority life is lifelong for them and they want to be involved in The. The younger generations. I think that that's great. I have not. My sorority at Texas A and M this last year had their 50th anniversary and a bunch of my sorority sisters went back and I thought about it, but it was the weekend of our cruise, so I couldn't go. But I would have gone to that because 50 years and all your girlfriends coming together, I would do that.
It's all about community, right? However you find your community.
Yeah.
I couldn't get into sorority.
Eddie
You tried, huh?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. You tried. I bet Eddie could.
Now, low t. Low T. All right. There you go. That's what it's all about. That was. Tell me something good. It's time for the good news with producer Eddie.
Doug
Tell me something good.
Eddie
There's a lady in Pennsylvania. She lives alone, and she's at the house watching TV on the couch. She falls asleep. It's about 9:30pm when her dog just starts barking.
Producer
Wake up. Wake up.
Eddie
And she's like, what? What do you want? She wakes up to smoke everywhere. Her whole house is on fire. She calls 91 1. She's able to get out of the house with her dog. But by the time the. The people fire trucks get there, half of the house has already been collapsed. Like it was so close. Wow. Yes. So they. And I guess they're in a small town because they say that the firefighters had to get water from a nearby creek. I guess that's how they do it in a small town.
Bobby Bones
If they don't have the ability to the funds to get a massive fire truck.
Eddie
Right.
Bobby Bones
Or volunteer fire department like we had, and there were no fire. Sure.
Eddie
Crazy.
Bobby Bones
They stick one into the hose into the creek, and then.
Well, you probably fill the truck up and then drive it back.
Eddie
That's crazy. It said it took them two hours to turn out the fire.
Bobby Bones
I don't know. It could be different. We had a mountain pine, had a volunteer fire department. We did not have a big truck. We had like a small to medium truck. So it only holds so much water. So there are only certain ways. I think they would go to the dam and refill back up if they
Eddie
needed, suck water into the tank.
Bobby Bones
But usually they would do it because everything was small. They could. We didn't have any massive house fires when I was growing up. They could use that amount of water to put it out, but I bet that's what it was.
Eddie
Well, it took them two hours to do it. Everyone was safe, thanks to the dog.
Bobby Bones
That's the key they lived. Yeah, she was safe.
Eddie
All right.
Bobby Bones

Host: Bobby Bones & The Show Crew (Eddie, Morgan, Producer, etc.)
Main Theme: Sharing the best moments, personal stories, and uplifting news from their Mother’s Day weekend—including heartwarming, humorous, and meaningful experiences from each cast member, and highlighting inspirational good news from across the country.
This episode is a feel-good roundtable focusing on Mother’s Day weekend stories from the Bobby Bones Show cast, along with their signature “Tell Me Something Good” stories. It includes lighthearted banter, parenting anecdotes, cultural references, and a special segment with labor and delivery nurse and social media personality Jen Hamilton, discussing the diversity of postpartum experiences.
Bobby Bones shares feeling pressure to make his wife’s first Mother’s Day special, even though she had no high expectations. He reflects on trying to balance his own hopes for the day and making sure she felt celebrated.
"It was a mix of wanting her to feel like it was a strong enough Mother’s Day. And it being the first one, I don't know, it was just a weird feeling because she did not have an expectation. But I had one on me and I think I met it." – Bobby Bones (02:19)
He also recaps watching the NCAA softball regional selection show, highlighting Arkansas’s top-five ranking and family pride since his brother-in-law is the team’s hitting coach.
Eddie chimes in with a similar story about considering a family walk, but bailing due to heat—with his wife ultimately deciding against it. The playful banter highlights the relatable struggle of doing "whatever Mom wants" (03:37).
"My wife on Mother's Day, she's like, we should go for a walk. I'm like, whatever you want. And I went outside with the dogs and I was like, I think it's too hot." – Bobby Bones (03:37)
Bobby then describes a Saturday trip to Downtown Franklin, TN—enjoying local shops and ice cream—and the logistical hurdles of parenting and lactose intolerance in his family.
"Their vegan pizza with added pepperoni tastes as close to a regular pizza as any pizza I've eaten." – Bobby Bones (05:53)
"I'm just afraid to try that, because I'm never in a place where I'm like, hey, if I got the poops for an hour, that's okay. Like, I'm never at a place where that feels, like, acceptable. So I never just go for that experiment." – Bobby Bones (06:26)
"Until right now, I thought it was him [Jason Aldean]... I only thought of him naked in his bed." – Bobby Bones (22:02)
After three years of trying, Eddie’s 12-year-old son’s basketball team finally won their first championship. The timing—finished before Mother’s Day—meant they enjoyed a rare, free Sunday. The joy and emotion among kids and parents are palpable.
"Both of them were so excited that they finally won their first, first championship. And it was cool, man. Parents got emotional, the kids got emotional. It was really cool to see." – Eddie (10:43)
Lunchbox excitedly shares a story about Buffalo Wild Wings offering $9.99 bottomless appetizers for groups (not per person!). The team jokes about how such promotions can sometimes backfire, referencing Red Lobster’s infamous endless shrimp losses.
"It's $9.99 per group because most people thought it was per person." – Bobby Bones (14:10)
Morgan attended Russell Dickerson’s outdoor birthday concert and had her first experience at Steeplechase—a Nashville horse racing event likened to a “junior varsity fake Kentucky Derby.” She shares the excitement of the event, getting a luxury $1,200 hat thanks to a top milliner, and humorous observations about the party crowd and betting culture.
"It was cool to watch him just get at—it was packed at that show being his birthday show. It was his, like, hometown crowd. And he also just released his song with Fetty Wap, which was a huge deal for him... Thomas Rhett came out and pretended to be Russell Dickerson. Apparently, he lost a bet to Russell and had to open for Russell Dickerson." – Morgan (19:22)
A group of Salt Lake City high school students surprises their classmate Jane (who has Down Syndrome) with a heartfelt promposal, featuring a boy named Carter arriving on a pony as her “knight.” The cast discusses the joy and meaning of inclusive acts like this.
"She reacted with so much excitement. She kept repeatedly saying it was the best night ever." – Bobby Bones, referencing Amy’s story (32:12)
Eddie shares the story of a woman whose dog woke her up to save her from a house fire, emphasizing the life-saving bond between humans and pets.
"Her dog just starts barking... She wakes up to smoke everywhere. Her whole house is on fire. She calls 911. She's able to get out... Thanks to the dog." – Eddie (34:10)
[27:53–31:29] Labor and delivery nurse and influencer Jen Hamilton discusses the varied emotional impacts of postpartum for new mothers:
"You never know how it's going to affect you until you meet yourself postpartum... There are resources, and the sooner that you recognize that you're feeling off and the sooner you get help, the sooner you can feel better." – Jen Hamilton (28:34, 30:53)
Vegan Pizza Order Story:
The comedic confusion of ordering vegan pizza with pepperoni, and Bobby’s suspicions that the wrong pizza might have caused a 40-minute bathroom situation. (05:23–05:53)
Songwriting and Music Rights Tidbit:
Bobby explains how synching songs in commercials works (Ben Rector/Brandon Ray) and musicians making a living through ad music. (08:03)
Hats at Steeplechase:
Morgan’s custom $1,200 hat for Steeplechase, courtesy of a renowned milliner, ignites laughter and awe from the cast. (25:02–25:05)
“I don't have to give it back, and I did not pay for it.” – Morgan (25:05)
Debating Jason Aldean Lyrics:
A group debate over whether “naked in my bed” refers to Jason himself, a woman, or both, showing the kind of off-the-cuff banter that makes the show lively. (21:27–23:19)
The episode blends lighthearted, honest storytelling with moments of real vulnerability. Conversational, often humorous, with occasional deep dives into family, mental health, and music industry tidbits. The show maintains warmth and camaraderie throughout, making it feel like a gathering of friends swapping their best feel-good stories.
