It's time for the good news.
Bobby
Tell me something good. Want to use this as my Tell me something good. It hasn't happened yet. It's happening tonight. I'm very excited because Arkansas plays tonight. We're in the sweet 16. So I may not be able to do it tomorrow. If we lose, we're expected and and predicted to lose. But that's okay. So today, wake up. Little pep on my step. We're in the Sweet 16 tonight against Arizona. So yeah, pretty happy about that. That's one exciting I looked at my scores for my aura ring this morning. Sleep scores and I I wasn't feeling great last night so I went to sleep somewhat early. Not for Bobby pb, but for Bobby ab.
Eddie
I'm struggling with it.
Bobby
After baby, pre baby, after baby. Yeah. Bobby PB was 8:30, 9 o', clock. Bobby AB after baby, 10:30, 11. Wow. It's feeding schedule, man.
Eddie
Sure, I get it.
Bobby
No you don't.
Eddie
I mean I remember those days.
Bobby
Okay. Thank you Eddie. I'll say. Sometimes I forgot. It's been a long time, man.
Eddie
It's been a while.
Bobby
But I wasn't Feeling great. So I fell asleep a little early. I got like 91 and 94 sleep scores. I haven't had that in a year.
Amy
That's huge.
Bobby
I don't know if it's because I'm so exhausted or I ate something that wasn't great.
Amy
Dairy.
Bobby
Could have snuck some dairy in on me. Yesterday I ordered a salad from a place and there was like sprinkles of something. And I put no dairy, but there's still sprinkles on it. And I took lactate before, but it could have been that.
Eddie
You think it was cheese?
Amy
Even just a sprinkle.
Bobby
Sprinkles of white. Oh, yeah.
Amy
Like Parmesan.
Bobby
Yeah. Because I don't ever have it. If there's any. It wrecks me.
Amy
Even with a Lactaid.
Bobby
Yeah. Two.
Amy
Wow.
Eddie
Whoa.
Bobby
Remember that listener who called and said she takes like 10 lactate?
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby
And she keeps building up because we're tall. I don't want to get to that point.
Eddie
Father in law, man. Every time he eats ice cream, it's like 15 of them.
Amy
He should get lactate ice cream. They have that.
Bobby
I've tried like the. Like. Like toast intolerant. It doesn't taste as good.
Amy
Oh.
Bobby
But I did that, so. But I got a really good night's sleep last night, which is rare. I made a couple notes here. My wife was able to, in the chaos of a baby, just be having a baby a couple weeks old. Made a banana bread yesterday. That was so good.
Amy
Yum.
Bobby
So I had that. Yeah. Is that. Is really. Only had like a small piece, but it was really good. So I did that. What else do I have? What did I write down here? Story. I think that's. Sleep is written wrong. Okay. I think that's my three.
Amy
Well, it's funny that you mentioned sleep. Oh. I don't know if you're coming to me next.
Bobby
I was looking right at you.
Amy
Okay. So it's funny that you mentioned about the. Your sleep and your aura ring is aura, right?
Eddie
Aura.
Bobby
Yeah.
Amy
Because late last night I finally decided to order one.
Bobby
Nice. And that's. I was shocked at how much they cost.
Amy
Me too.
Eddie
Me too.
Amy
Me too, too. But guess what I did. I made it my birthday present to myself. Even though my birthday was a week or so ago, I hadn't gotten myself anything. So.
Bobby
Is that how it works?
Amy
Yeah. That's how I. I just justified it. And I was like, happy birthday to me. And. And I mostly want it to track my sleep. I mean, steps will be fine.
Bobby
That's what I use for sleep, whatever.
Amy
But really, it's sleep I do worry about having. Like, I quit wearing an Apple watch a long time ago, and. And, I mean, I have my cell phone near me, but I do worry about, like, just wearing something all the time and sleeping with it all the time that's just connected to my body.
Bobby
I'm not a jewelry person at all. It's not bothersome at all.
Amy
No, no, no. I'm not talking. I wear jewelry. That's fine. I'm talking about. It's con. It's like reading my body. There's, like, the electromagnetic energy.
Bobby
Try again.
Eddie
You're so close.
Bobby
What is it?
Amy
MF or now just try again with the word MFer.
Bobby
What?
Amy
Electromagnetic.
Bobby
He got it. Almost. You're 85% there now.
Amy
Electromagnetic energy.
Bobby
I don't even know if that's it. I was just.
Amy
I don't see frequency. Maybe electromagnetic frequencies. I just know that, you know, I'm just gonna have it on if I. If I'm tracking it for my sleep, then I'm wearing it all day, and I'm wearing it all night, and what's it doing to me?
Bobby
So you're also probably getting something negative from.
Amy
I don't know. We'll see.
Bobby
We'll see. I don't think you'll see.
Amy
Well, no. Time will tell. Future will tell.
Bobby
But I don't think that's true. Can I tell you why?
Amy
Not with me, I'm saying in the Future, who knows? 20 years from now, they'd be like, no concern. We've been wearing these rings and everybody's fine. Or they're going to be like, oh, whoopsie, we were wrong. Everybody's dying. You know, like, time will tell.
Bobby
I think there will be a general. Everybody's dying because of all the. What you call them? MFers.
Eddie
Because all the mfers going in your body.
Bobby
Yeah. With all, like, the waves that we don't see.
Amy
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, it could be from. I mean, we're already exposed to all kinds of things. I get it. But it's like, it's just one less thing I can do. But I ordered one, so I think.
Bobby
This is not a commercial for oura rings. Although they should at this point. They should definitely invest in the show. But I think the Apple watch does just as good of a job. I just don't. Wearing a watch is a little too heavy for me to wear when I sleep.
Amy
Right.
Bobby
So that's why I wear the ring. And I need it to track sleep. And then.
Amy
What color is yours? Graphite. Or something.
Bobby
I don't know. What? You tell me.
Amy
I got gold. Yours looks like dark.
Bobby
If you were to say. What color is it?
Amy
If I were to have to assign it a color, I'd say graphite or gray or something.
Eddie
Is it like blackish?
Amy
Yeah, it's like titanium.
Bobby
Oh, yeah.
Eddie
Titanium.
Bobby
Is titanium a color? Yeah, I thought titanium would be like, silver.
Amy
Yes. And that's. Graphite. Is also silver, like graphite color. Titanium, color of a pencil.
Bobby
Yeah, that's fine. But you said titanium.
Amy
I thought titanium could lean towards graphite.
Bobby
Now we're leaning colors in titanium. All right, tell me something good. Lunchbox.
Guest
Oh, we had an ice storm a couple months ago. Maybe it was a month ago. I don't even know when it was. But there has been tree branches stacked in the yards all through the neighborhood. And yesterday, one of those big trucks with a claw was going through the neighborhood and finally picking up some of the branches. Oh, a good sight to see, man.
Bobby
Lining the roads wherever you go in Nashville. Massive amounts of just not just limbs, but sometimes trunks, bases of trees.
Eddie
Huge.
Bobby
Yeah.
Eddie
So my question is, where does all that go? Like, are they making paper out of this because it's a lot of wood, or are they just chipping it, throwing it in playgrounds?
Bobby
They're probably chipping it. They could be using it, but then you have to haul that to a
Eddie
paper mill because that's a lot of wood.
Bobby
And the price of gas right now, you ain't doing a lot of hauling. Everything's going up because of gas, by the way. Like, the USPS just announced an 8% increase, and that's because of gas. Uber eats any delivery. Amazon flights, everything is getting more expensive because gas has reached new heights. So I was watching the news yesterday, just clips, and I guess I don't turn it on my tv, but they were like, you just need to be a patriot and accept we have high gas prices and maybe not get that Starbucks. And that's.
Amy
Who said that.
Bobby
It's for sure talking points. Right. Because I saw it in, like, three places saying the exact same thing. And let's say if that were just it, I'd fully understand that that is a message, but it's affecting everything. It's not just about not getting a Starbucks. It's about Amazon delivery. Yeah. It's about having to go get your kids at school using gas, and they're like, you know what? That, that, that 80 cents, you'll be okay. No, no, it's 80 when you have to fill your tank up. Times however Many gallons you're putting in times per day.
Eddie
It adds up.
Bobby
So that stuff kind of irritates me when they talk down to normal people, like, you can. And they don't have to worry about that. And so, yeah, my point is they want a paper mill, probably.
Eddie
Man, you know what I thought of, like, because, I mean, just two weeks ago, we were like, over here in Nashville. It was like $2.59 a gallon. Right. So I was thinking, like, it's going to go up. Maybe I should, like, get a big old bin or whatever and fill it up with gas. I wonder if people do that. People, like, hoard gas because.
Bobby
Yeah. Do they? Sure, Some. But it's dangerous. And then also, you're. You're predicting a gas market. So unless, you know we're going to go to war with Iran.
Eddie
Well, you saw it creep, like, that's what I'm saying. It was told it was creeping like 10 cents every day.
Bobby
Yeah.
Eddie
And then all of a sudden, I
Bobby
would say, don't do that, because something will catch it on fire. You have a little gas can, but a big gas can is if something goes wrong, everything goes up.
Eddie
Okay, so there is one place out in the country that's still a little cheap. I drove by it the other day.
Bobby
Yeah.
Eddie
I might just go take all my cars over there and go fill up.
Bobby
What's great is we got two electric car. We have one fully electric, the Hyundai. And my main car is hybrid. So it gets 50 miles on just electric before it goes to gas. We never use gas that you get 50 miles.
Amy
Mine's hybrid. I get 14 years is just. What's the point?
Bobby
There's just high. You don't get the bread yet. It's only 14.
Amy
I plug it in and I don't have a charger at home. I just go at the park. It's free.
Eddie
Oh, I've seen those. I've seen those.
Bobby
And you get, you know, over 14 miles. I don't know that I'd install a charger in my house either.
Amy
Right, I know, but, like, if I go on a walk, I'll park in the electric and then plug her in.
Bobby
Yeah.
Amy
And then.
Bobby
Or crack a barrel and then do
Eddie
you see, like, a ride, Like a rise in the electric bill?
Bobby
No.
Amy
Well, no, because I fill it up for free.
Eddie
Not you. Not you asking Bobby.
Bobby
No. The Hyundai goes forever. And I've had an electric car, my last three cars, fully electric. So the Hyundai is fully electric. It's a Ioniq 9. It's awesome. Before that, I had an all electric Porsche car.
Eddie
Oh, yeah.
Bobby
And then I had a Tesla before that, all electric. So I'm used to having all electric. But we always had a gas car too, just in case we needed a last minute, I don't know, go on a road trip. We never did, by the way.
Eddie
Journey.
Bobby
Yeah, we never really drove anywhere that far.
Amy
Spontaneous road trips aren't your thing.
Bobby
They're not. So I'm a big advocate of electric vehicles, but I'm not having to buy any gas. And then Caitlin's been home. She hasn't left the house really, unless she's been with me. We go on walks because the only car seat we have now is in the back of my car. So we haven't had to spend any money on gas because of all electric.
Eddie
That's pretty good.
Bobby
But it still irritates me when I watch people in the news go, just skip your Starbucks one day. Be a patriot.
Eddie
And plus, Starbucks is on the way. Like, who goes out of the way to get Starbucks?
Bobby
And also.
Amy
No, they're just saying for the.
Bobby
Yeah, the money.
Amy
The money.
Eddie
Oh, I thought meant for the gas to go all the way to Starbucks.
Amy
No, they're saying the $7 you're spending on your latte, put it towards your.
Eddie
Tell me what to do with my money.
Bobby
Have never noticed a high electric bill because of the charger.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby
But it doesn't constantly charge all the time. Like, I have to plug it in once a week.
Eddie
Really? That's good for.
Bobby
For like the Hyundai. It's once a week and then it drives all week.
Eddie
Wow.
Bobby
If. If I use it as my primary vehicle.
Amy
Did y' all know on your electric bill or through your electric company, you can get a breakdown of where you sit in your neighborhood. Like, if you're energy waster, if you're efficient with your energy, or you're like really good at conserving energy. Because I. I did. I got a breakdown of where I fall and I'm pretty. I'm doing okay. Like, I'm not. I'm. I'm average.
Bobby
Does it show you who's bad? Where their house is?
Amy
No, it doesn't tell you who they. It doesn't tell you who they are. It just gives you their bills, like, their numbers and how. It's like, you know, these people are killing it. And I sort of want to be like, well, who are they? How can I talk to them about what they do? I wanna. I wanna know, like, what do you do?
Bobby
Oh, I'd wanna know who's wasting the most. Yeah, yeah.
Eddie
And right on their house.
Bobby
Energy waster, right?
Amy
I guess, yes, if they're an energy waster. But I wanna talk to the ones that are able to conserve and I wanna know their tips and tricks. It's probably like we turn all the lights off before we leave the house.
Eddie
And I'm like, okay, something easy like that.
Bobby
If there's a water version of that, we're gonna lose this month. Oh, for sure, for sure.
Eddie
Although you're done. I think you're done.
Bobby
Full. It took five whole days with the water hose to fill our swimming pool. That's crazy.
Amy
Still is blowing my mind.
Bobby
All the ice storm wrecked everything. I think I said on the show. We ended up with like $60,000 in damage and insurance covers none of it because it doesn't cover. Freeze here, man.
Eddie
I. I would. I'd lose it.
Bobby
You just quit. Move out.
Eddie
I would lose it. I don't know what I would do.
Bobby
So all in, like, trees, pool. The pool is crazy. There was a while I told Kaylin, I was like, maybe we just don't even. We don't have a pool for a year or so. I'm good. Like, I don't. I never get in it anyway. But we. They fixed it. We filled it back up. It took five days to fill up and With a water hose. And some people were like, hey, they do this thing where they'll bring out water from the fire truck that they can't get the fire truck back here.
Eddie
Oh, oh, really?
Amy
But that's a thing and you can get it. Do you have to, like, you pay?
Bobby
I think you have to pay.
Eddie
They don't do that for free.
Amy
Well, I know, but I mean, is that a way that the city makes a little extra money?
Bobby
I don't know. I don't even know if they do it here. Someone just said they did it. If the fire truck could, like, get their hose.
Amy
I feel like that's probably in a small town maybe.
Eddie
And would they be, like, on duty when they do it? Probably.
Bobby
You're paying money for it.
Eddie
Yeah, but what if, like, a fire goes down and they're like, I gotta
Amy
go come back, load them up.
Bobby
They have to go. But yeah. It took five, five plus days to fill the pool with a water hose running constantly.
Eddie
Crazy.
Bobby
It's just so weird. It feels so. I always thought it would be, like, so, like, luxurious to have swimming pool. Because growing up, we had one person in a whole town, that swimming pool. But then when you fill it with water hose, water just kind of feels like back when we Were kids running through the hose on same water.
Eddie
It's like. It's just a hole in the ground.
Bobby
It's just a bunch more of the same water we had as kids.
Amy
But yours is pretty.
Bobby
The pool's pretty. Yeah.
Amy
Is that called zero edge infinity?
Bobby
Infinity, yeah.
Eddie
Where like when you lay on it, it looks like it never ends.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby
The problem with infinity pools is that they cost infinity money. Because something's always wrong. It's always something stupid. If I could come back and like redo the house, I would not have swimming pool. It's not of use to me. I got my use out of it. The two times I used it, I just wouldn't use it.
Amy
Yeah, it's not.
Bobby
It's.
Amy
I gotta say, my last house before I moved had one. And there was problems in the winter. And then this winter during the freeze at my new house, I don't have one and it either. I had a certain exhale about me of like, okay, I don't have to worry about freaking out what I'm gonna do with the pool. And then I'm not gonna have any crazy bills after. From like one winter I left for Christmas, I went to Colorado and my pipes froze and burst for my pool. And when I got back, I had a crazy bill that I had to deal with. Nothing like yours or the ice storm. Cause it wasn't that bad. But it still was just this responsibility that in the end wasn't really worth it for our family. Cause it's not like we were like everyday pool people.
Bobby
Yeah. And by the way, nobody knows more than me. No crying on the yacht. So I'm not complaining about the pool. I'm just telling. I'm just telling you a story. It's not a woe is me. I'm not even complaining about the money that we had to pay because the ice storm, the insurance. I'm just sharing my life. So I ain't crying on the yacht. You don't. No tears at all?
Amy
Not at all. So I didn't take it that way.
Bobby
I know, but people take everything I say every way. So I just want to say that.
Amy
I mean, if anything you're saying, like, if any. If you're sitting at your house right now sad because you don't have a pool.
Eddie
Like, hey, don't be happy that you don't have one.
Amy
It's all good. Like you're hearing from two people that have at home that are like, I
Eddie
guess it is better when your friend has a pool.
Amy
Yes. It's like your friend has a boat.
Bobby
Yeah yeah.

Tell me something good, Eddie.
Eddie
So it was my birthday Saturday, and my in laws have been bugging me. They've been texting me like, hey, did you get that card? I got that I sent you? And I've been like, you know what? I haven't even checked the mailbox. I haven't checked. I've been putting it off. I should have checked it sooner. Guys, they put money in there. They gave me 150 gift card as an adult.
Bobby
You got money as an adult?
Eddie
And I was like, oh, like, what am I gonna. Why do I want a card? It's gonna be like, happy birthday, we love you, blah, blah, whatever. No, I opened it up and I was like, this feels kind of heavy. 150 gift card.
Amy
Gift card to wear.
Eddie
It was just one of those Visa gift cards.
Amy
Plus, you can use it on gas.
Eddie
So I was thinking maybe an aura ring.
Bobby
Can you take a Visa gift card and stick it in the machine?
Eddie
That's a good question.
Bobby
I've done it before because they ask you for the reason I asked that you have. They ask you for a zip code on a lot of that stuff, and that really doesn't have a zip code because it's not attached to anyone specifically.
Amy
Maybe if they know it's a gift card, they don't ask you for the zip code.
Eddie
Or maybe you have to go to the actual counter.
Bobby
That I could understand. When's the last time you went inside to pay for gas?
Amy
The last time I got gas.
Bobby
Really? Why?
Amy
Yeah, because I forgot my wallet, and I'm doing this new thing this year where I fill up at a quarter of a tank and.
Bobby
Oh, you fill up when it gets down to a quarter?
Amy
Yes.
Bobby
I thought you were filling up to a quarter of a tank. Like, it's all full at one quarter. Oh, my God, that sounds like the worst strategy ever.
Amy
My whole driving life, I have filled up at empty. Like, I go to the gas station when I'm.
Eddie
When the light comes on.
Amy
Well, when beyond the light, like, my current car will say, please refuel at one point when it's low, and then it hits a point where it says, refuel immediately.
Eddie
Like, we're not kidding.
Amy
Yeah. And so I. And then I've learned, and many listeners have told me how horrible that is on your car. Like, it's just not good. And so in an effort to just be more responsible, I'm like, amy, you can do this. Stop being ridiculous. Like, you can break this pattern. You don't have to live this way. So now I try to do quarter a tank. And the other day, I was driving right past a gas station, and I looked down and I was at a quarter a tank. And I'm like, must get gas. But I didn't have my wallet, but I had my Apple pay on my phone. So I had to go inside and say, you know, put $50 on tank two. And then I scanned and I. So I went in and I paid for the gas.
Eddie
I don't think you can do the. I'm gonna fill up on two and I'll be back. Like, they don't think they trust you. Like, I think the last time I did.
Amy
Oh, no, I prepaid.
Eddie
Yeah, you have to give them money,
Bobby
but if you prepay, you can only.
Amy
I had to guess. That's what I said. Like, I just had to say, Ah, plus 50 on two, man.
Eddie
Back in the day, you can be like, fill up on two.
Bobby
Oh, you just spent like, five bucks on four. And five bucks would actually get you gas.
Eddie
Yes, that too.
Bobby
But also, that's a. Back in the day. And it's also a man. Gas prices are way high right now at the same time, because a little bit of. It's just. Things were cheaper back then. Sure. I remember in Arkansas when I was a kid, probably the 90s, it was less than a dollar a gallon.
Amy
Oh, Yeah. I was 99 cents. I was 99 cents.
Bobby
Crazy.
Amy
Sometimes it'd be 97.
Bobby
What was wild about growing up in Mountain Pine was it was one payphone, and the rest of the country didn't have this because I would go places and be shocked. But our payphone was a dime. All of Arkansas payphone was a dime.
Eddie
Oh, that's old school.
Amy
We were a quarter.
Bobby
Yeah, it was a quarter. Everywhere else I ever went was always a quarter, even at that exact time.
Amy
Y' all are like the Costco hot dog.
Eddie
So cheap.
Bobby
That's a good one.
Amy
It's still.
Bobby
They won't raise the price. Yep, same price as it was, like, 83 or something. So I don't remember.
Eddie
But did the quarter. Was that unlimited? Like, could I be on the phone for hours?
Bobby
It would eventually tap you out.
Amy
Oh, yeah. I don't know that I've stayed on long enough to find out, but, yeah, normally I was just responding to a page.
Bobby
Yeah. And you could also call collect from a payphone, though, for free. I remember that could be like, say your name. Bobby Answer. Or. Or you would just give the message in that. Be like, I'll be having 30 minutes.
Eddie
That was the hack.
Bobby
Yeah. And so they'd go where you accept a call from, I'll be having 30 minutes. No, they don't have to, because you just said what you needed to say without money.
Amy
That's funny.
Bobby
There you go. We have a new Bobby cast up today. I just got a message saying that the title was messed up on the Netflix version. It's probably a Netflix problem. What's. Did you see that? Yeah, they're updating it. It just says episode 23. What happened in this week's episode is a couple things. You know, I get a vote for the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. Did you know that?
Amy
Well, only because you said the other day, did y' all pick the things together?
Bobby
So we do it every year. I'm surprised they haven't kicked me out. Yeah, because you're not supposed to do that. You're not supposed to say what your vote is. But we. Well, we amplified it this year and did it on Netflix. So we went through all.
Amy
This might be your final year.
Bobby
Every year, we thought, this is it.
Eddie
Wait, I'm on Netflix?
Bobby
Oh, yeah. You're up today.
Eddie
I'm up today.
Bobby
Right, Mike? Yeah. It's Eddie's next. I meant to tell you that. I'm so stupid. No way. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Eddie
This is huge.
Bobby
Yesterday, I was thinking I should tell Eddie he made his Netflix debut, and I forgot. Sorry.
Eddie
Oh, my. I'm gonna go home and I'm gonna turn it on.
Bobby
Don't say anything to the kids.
Eddie
I'm not gonna say anything. And they're just gonna see it pop up on tv. This is gonna be amazing.
Bobby
So we go through the Rock and Roll hall of Fame nominees, and we pick the people. And then I talked to Chris Robinson, the lead singer of the Black crows. Can you sing a black crow song?
Amy
I could if you lead me.
Bobby
She never.
Amy
Addiction.
Bobby
That's it.
Eddie
You got it, Amy.
Amy
I don't know what that's.
Bobby
They updated it that quick? It's already fixed now on Netflix.
Eddie
I didn't see it fixed. Maybe.
Bobby
What's the title on podcast? If you go to Bobbycast. This one is just you and Eddie voting on the rock and roll hall. Oh yeah, we did a duel. Yeah, we did two. Oh yeah. Yeah, that's right. And then that's its own. And then we did Chris Robinson audio. What a day.
Eddie
You know what? I'm changing my Tell me something good. My Tell me something good is I'm on Netflix today.
Bobby
You do that tomorrow after you watch it.
Eddie
That is amazing.
Bobby
He is on it, right, Mike?
Eddie
Oh, dude, if you cut me out,
Bobby
we never go to his camera. It's only his voice. You know what? We cut that camera.
Eddie
So sad.
Bobby
It's like Mike doing this show. There's not a camera on him. Yeah, yeah. So you just hear his voice. If the whole Netflix episode is Eddie's
Eddie
voice, only you see our reactions to him. That's it.
Bobby
Okay, There you go everybody. Good.
Eddie
That's cool. Yeah, man. Great.
Bobby
Congratulations. Woo. Pig.
Amy
What lunchboxes. Tell me something good.
Bobby
Did he not do one?
Eddie
Yeah, you did the trees.
Amy
Oh yeah.
Eddie
Did you have a baby truck?
Amy
Did I have a baby?
Guest
No.
Amy
I guess we're just been talking about so much.
Bobby
I heard that's why I get lost sometimes. I'm having to lead it and then also do it. So sometimes you get lost.
Amy
And then we went back. Eddie was like, that should have been my telling something good. So then my brain was like, oh, we just did his tell me something good about the gift card.
Bobby
You know my tell me something good is now we're ending the segment. All right, there it is. Tell me something good.
Lunchbox (Producer)
That was. Tell me something good. It's time for the good news producer.
Bobby
Eddie, Tell me something good.
Eddie
Lucas is a surf instructor in Oceanside, California. And he was just taking a break. He was taking doing lessons. But then he's like, I'm gonna grab a sandwich and eat. He's sitting there on the rocks looking out at the ocean. He sees a six year old got caught in a riptide, pulled out. He's like, oh, this isn't good. So he jumps in the water. So while he's trying to swim to the girl, the girl's dad also goes out there. He looks exhausted. They're both drowning. Don't worry. Lucas gets Both of them. It's a double save, baby. He grabs both of them, swims it back to shore, and they're safe. No medical attention needed. They're good to go.
Bobby
Wow. So I was wondering, why is a six year old out? It turns out the riptide. Yeah. But again, it pulled him away from his parents.
Eddie
Yep.
Bobby
And the parent.
Eddie
And then I guess these riptides, man, they just. If you're in it, it just pulls you out and you can't control it.
Amy
I saw a grown woman the other day. Her face was all beat up, and she was filming herself after she'd just been pulled out to see because she just went to go dip her toes in the water.
Bobby
Okay. We think she's putting a toe in, and all of a sudden, she gets ripped out to sea. Yeah, that's not a to r. Tide does not get you if you're toe deep.
Amy
Okay. She said she was just going for a quick, like, you know, just wanted to kill the water. She was not.
Eddie
And it just tripped her and pulled
Amy
her in, and it swooped her hand,
Bobby
grabbed her by the ankle and dragged
Amy
her out on her eye, her nose. Her face is all red. And she was. She put the video up as a warning of, like, be careful out there.
Bobby
I agree with be careful out there. The ocean. Don't play. It don't play. However, if you want to get your toes wet, do that. Ocean plays. It's okay to get your toes wet. But she definitely was. Unless somebody dragged her out there. She definitely was. Deeper water.
Amy
Okay.
Bobby
All right. Def. You don't think so?
Amy
I don't know. You didn't see the video. She was.
Eddie
Yeah, man.
Bobby
You didn't see the video, I bet. Okay, good point. Good point. All right. There you go. That's what it's all about.
Lunchbox (Producer)
That was. Tell me something good. It's time for the good news with lunchbox.
Bobby
Tell me something good.

Blake Hensley wakes up in the morning, goes out to his driveway. Oh, no. His 2023 custom Ford Raptor gone missing. Stolen. He's like, oh, no, what am I gonna do? You know what? Custom parts. I bet someone's gonna try to sell it. So he gets on Facebook, marketplace, and he says, oh, those look like my wheels for sale. And he checks the serial number on the wheels. He's like, oh, those are my wheels. And he sets up a buy. He says, hey, man, I'm interested in those wheels. You want to do a meetup? The guy says, yeah. And he loops in the police on it, and they show up. They Recover the wheels, they find his truck and he gets it back.
Amy
Nice.
Eddie
That's legit.
Bobby
Good job by that dude. Yeah. The awareness to know they're probably going to sell it. I mean he must understand cars. And he's probably bought some himself. Not illegally, but like bought some stuff off Facebook Marketplace. Our very own Amy sells stuff on Facebook Marketplace. Yeah, People come to her house. We feel like it's a bit dangerous.
Amy
I. Oh, I buy, sell. I sell and I buy. But some people are just sellers.
Bobby
No, no, it's not that you buy or sell. It's that you have people come to your house. That's the dangerous part, you know?
Amy
I know.
Bobby
And you're by yourself.
Amy
Yeah, I know. I have system. A system in play that keeps protects me in play.
Bobby
I think it's in place.
Guest
All right, good story.
Bobby
That is what it's all about.
Lunchbox (Producer)
That was. Tell me something good.

Host: Bobby Bones
Main Cast: Bobby Bones, Amy, Eddie, Lunchbox (Producer)
Theme: Sharing Feel-Good Stories, Life Updates, and Fun Banter
In this episode, the crew dives into their signature "Tell Me Something Good" segment, swapping positive stories, personal victories, and life challenges with their characteristic mix of humor and relatability. Bobby is “happy to be exhausted” thanks to parenthood, improved sleep, and excitement about Arkansas’s appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16. The team discusses sleep trackers, the frustrations of home and car ownership, the impact of rising gas prices, and the practical side of electric vehicles. The show rounds out with uplifting news stories and a healthy dose of playful ribbing.
(03:44) Bobby is excited for Arkansas’s Sweet 16 game and admits he’ll be less cheerful if they lose:
"We're expected and predicted to lose. But that's okay. So today, wake up. Little pep on my step. We're in the Sweet 16 tonight against Arizona."
— Bobby (03:48)
Sleep is a big focus: after struggling, he finally gets exceptionally high scores on his Oura Ring.
"I got like 91 and 94 sleep scores. I haven't had that in a year."
— Bobby (04:46)
He reflects on sleep schedule changes before and after the baby:
"Bobby PB was 8:30, 9 o'clock. Bobby AB after baby, 10:30, 11. Wow. It's feeding schedule, man."
— Bobby (04:24)
Possible dairy sneaking into his meal is the suspected culprit for previous sleep issues. Lactaid debate ensues.
(06:12) Amy decides to buy herself an Oura Ring for her birthday, joining Bobby in sleep tracking. She's surprised by the cost and justifies it as a gift to herself.
She expresses unease about wearing a device constantly:
"It's like reading my body. There's, like, the electromagnetic energy."
— Amy (07:07)
The team jokes about “MFers”—Amy struggles with the term “electromagnetic frequencies” and everyone has fun with her confusion.
Discussion about tree storm damage segues into the rising cost of gas and the complexities it adds to everyday life:
"Everything's going up because of gas, by the way."
— Bobby (10:08)
"So I was watching the news yesterday...they were like, you just need to be a patriot and accept we have high gas prices and maybe not get that Starbucks."
— Bobby (10:24)
Bobby highlights the benefit of electric vehicles (EVs) in his household:
"What's great is we got two electric cars...So we haven't had to spend any money on gas because of all electric."
— Bobby (13:12)
Amy and Bobby discuss hybrid vs. fully electric, recharging routines, and free public charging stations.
Amy brings up the home energy efficiency report card:
"You can get a breakdown of where you sit in your neighborhood...I'm average."
— Amy (14:22)
Bobby jokes:
"Does it show you who's bad?...I'd wanna know who's wasting the most."
— Bobby (14:45)
Massive ice storm damage:
"We ended up with like $60,000 in damage and insurance covers none of it because it doesn't cover freeze here, man."
— Bobby (15:29)
Five days to refill a swimming pool with a hose; discussion of the hidden cost and complications of pool ownership.
Both Bobby and Amy admit they wouldn’t get another pool, emphasizing it’s often a “friend with a pool” situation.
“If I could come back and redo the house, I would not have a swimming pool.”
— Bobby (17:09)
Bobby pre-empts criticism:
“I'm not complaining about the pool....I'm just sharing my life. So I ain't crying on the yacht.”
— Bobby (18:10)
Bobby, on parenthood’s toll:
“Bobby PB was 8:30, 9 o'clock. Bobby AB after baby, 10:30, 11. Wow.” (04:24)
Amy, on wearable devices:
“I'm just gonna have it on if I. If I'm tracking it for my sleep, then I'm wearing it all day, and I'm wearing it all night, and what's it doing to me?” (07:31)
Bobby, on the rising cost of everything:
“Everything's going up because of gas, by the way...it's getting more expensive because gas has reached new heights.” (10:08)
Bobby, on pool ownership realities:
“The problem with infinity pools is that they cost infinity money. Because something's always wrong.” (17:09)
Amy’s life hack:
“My whole driving life, I have filled up at empty...So now I try to do quarter a tank…stop being ridiculous, like, you can break this pattern.” (23:20)
(09:23)
After months of downed tree branches from a big ice storm, city crews finally clear the debris:
“Yesterday, one of those big trucks with a claw was going through the neighborhood and finally picking up some of the branches... Oh, a good sight to see, man.”
— Guest (Lunchbox)
(22:05)
Eddie shares about a surprise birthday card from his in-laws — with a $150 Visa gift card inside:
“As an adult?...I was like, oh, like, what am I gonna...No, I opened it up and I was like, this feels kind of heavy. 150 gift card.”
— Eddie
(28:37)
Surf instructor Lucas in Oceanside, CA saves a six-year-old and her father caught in a riptide:
"It's a double save, baby. He grabs both of them, swims it back to shore, and they're safe. No medical attention needed. They're good to go."
— Eddie (28:37)
The group discusses riptides, ocean safety, and Amy tells a story of a woman who was unexpectedly pulled out to sea.
(30:32)
After his custom Ford Raptor is stolen, Blake Hensley spots his wheels for sale on Facebook Marketplace. With police help, he recovers his property:
“He checks the serial number... And he sets up a buy...they recover the wheels, they find his truck and he gets it back.”
— Guest (Lunchbox) (30:32)
