Amy
So I think we figured out what we're gonna do for my son's birthday. And it's gonna be switched into a couple of different days because we can't celebrate the one with his friends on his actual birthday at school because of school. But after school that day, we're gonna pick him up and he wants to go to In N Out Burger. Finally. So we went one time on a Friday night and I turned around and left and we have not been back.
Bobby Bones
But are you committed to staying in line?
Amy
We're committed because this is his birthday. And so his dad and I were texting about it and we're just gonna do it after school, which hopefully the line won't be too long around that time. And then he'll finally get us in and out and then it's gonna be.
Bobby Bones
There's no guarantees what time.
Amy
Well, I gotta see if he has cross country. Let's.
Bobby Bones
Anything after about. Cause there's only a brief window between lunch, late lunch and early dinner.
Amy
Okay, so I'm thinking two o'.
Eddie
Clock. Is that sweet?
Bobby Bones
That's the suite. Because after about three it starts to be early dinner, people.
Eddie
Yeah.
Abby
Wow.
Bobby Bones
But it doesn't matter. You're gonna.
Amy
It doesn't matter. It's his birthday. So 4, 4:30 maybe. Hopefully long.
Unidentified Guest
You're gonna go inside, right?
Bobby Bones
It doesn't matter.
Unidentified Guest
I don't know how long. I didn't know if there was a difference. Like, does the line inside go a lot faster?
Amy
I have no idea what we'll do.
Bobby Bones
It's all lined up, wrapped around the building too. That way you have to be out of your car. That's what sucks about that. You got to just stand there. Welcome to hell.
Amy
Well, maybe because everyone's starting school, they're not going to go to in and out.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Or maybe because everybody's at school, they've made a plan that after school even more people celebrate.
Amy
Like going back to school.
Bobby Bones
I think that's fun.
Amy
So I was just glad it was funny. Like the first thing out of his mouth, I'm like, hey, what are we going to do on your birthday? He's like, go to in n out. It's like he's been waiting ever since that one day that we went and I had to turn around because the line was too long.
Bobby Bones
I wish I had a connection or knew somebody because usually I can like find somebody to know. I don't.
Amy
Oh, it's fine.
Eddie
Well, no connection at.
Bobby Bones
Not a single one.
Amy
Yeah. So that's the. That's the family plan and then the friend plan. He wants to take some friends to IMAX to see Odyssey.
Bobby Bones
Do you already have tickets?
Amy
No, but it won't be. We can't. He's. His grandma's. Ben's mom. He's celebrating, like, her 80th birthday, so they're all going to Texas. So we're gonna have to do it in a couple of weeks. So his birthday party will be delayed.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Tickets.
Amy
Get tickets, like, now, Mike.
Bobby Bones
Right? I would.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Amy
Wow.
Bobby Bones
Still for late August only, because if you wanted to go to a normal movie, you can wait two days out if you want to go to IMAX, because they're only 40 in the whole country, People are driving hours.
Amy
Oh, really? Okay, so I need to start texting
Bobby Bones
friends moms with the imax, because we tried to buy them weeks out and we got second row. Obviously, we didn't go into the standard theater.
Amy
Okay. I'm glad I brought this up to you all because it's imax.
Unidentified Guest
The ones you wear, the goggle, the
Bobby Bones
glasses you do, that's. You go to imax, wear goggles because it makes the experience awesome.
Amy
Which. Which theater in town?
Eddie
Like, there's a couple.
Bobby Bones
No, there's. There's. Okay, couple. Let me get this straight. We're talking IMAX 70 millimeter, and if you're going to go to the IMAX, go to the real one. There are more IMAXes, but there's only 40 IMAX 70 millimeter theaters in the whole country. Correct. That's what you want to go to. You can go just to the big IMAX and say nothing else. He won't know the difference. Probably.
Eddie
Right?
Abby
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
It's digital. It's not real film.
Eddie
And that one is over by Dave and Busters by the Opry.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Yeah. So what happened to us? We were going to the 70 millimeter and then we go. Well, we're not sure yet. Let's just buy regular tickets at the same theater so we can decide within two hours. And so we bought the two set of tickets and then we went to the normal theater, but it's at the mall.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Parking is terrible over there, and the bass pro is right there, and you got to loop all the way around.
Eddie
It's never good.
Bobby Bones
It's terrible.
Eddie
Like, you try to get that sweet spot.
Bobby Bones
Like, does everything just suck to us today? I mean, everything we're talking is like, that sucks.
Amy
Well, no, I was. Yeah, no, I was trying to bring the good. Like, the good for me. Was just as a mom to know that we've got a plan to celebrate his birthday and that it seems pretty doable.
Bobby Bones
The In N Out's fun. Get the IMAX tickets as soon as possible.
Amy
Yeah, I just pulled it up and I'm looking now, but now I gotta text friends moms to see. Okay, what day? Cause again we're planning it out. It's not on his actual birthday anyway, so I'd rather make. I want to make sure it's a day on the weekend that the majority of his weekend.
Bobby Bones
Oh my God.
Eddie
It's not going to be streaming by then. Like it's not going to be on Pico.
Bobby Bones
That's going to be making so much money that it's probably going to be a late to stream.
Amy
Well, it's gonna have to be a weekend and we can't go on a school.
Bobby Bones
I know. I'm just saying it's even gonna be harder to get in with a good seat in that 70 millimeter. You can just go to the normal IMAX and just trick them.
Eddie
Really? They don't know the difference.
Bobby Bones
Heck, I don't know the difference.
Eddie
Right.
Bobby Bones
I don't know right now. If you wanted to go this weekend to the 70 millimeter, it's just. There's only front row.
Amy
Okay, well, it's not good. We've got at least two to three weeks.
Bobby Bones
Look, two weeks out at the old 70. Mm on a. I had no idea.
Amy
I thought I was going to tell you all this. And they're like, oh, yeah, now would be the time to go because the rush has died down and it is for general movie.
Bobby Bones
Two weeks out.
Eddie
Amy.
Bobby Bones
There's only partial first row, full second row, partial third row, and only the edges of the fourth row.
Amy
What's the date?
Bobby Bones
That's the 22nd at 7pm oh, the 22nd. That's the one you're thinking 18 days from now.
Eddie
That is crazy.
Bobby Bones
I would do this today.
Amy
Okay, I think we're probably gonna have to do rag the.
Eddie
Yeah, just go to IMAX.
Amy
I mean, gen pop.
Eddie
There are a bunch of IMAXes that
Bobby Bones
there are no seats. We just went a daylight. They're in it. 3pm's a little better.
Eddie
And you know what made me so mad? That's where I saw oppenheimer at that 70 millimeter one. And I was. And that's like where I fell asleep so mad because it was so expensive. It was like so rare.
Amy
Oh, how much are those tickets?
Bobby Bones
It's like 38 bucks.
Amy
30 bucks per ticket?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
Okay, we'll probably just go to imax. An event.
Amy
I know, but we're taking all of his friends.
Eddie
Like, how many friends?
Bobby Bones
Especially why you shouldn't buy the $38 tickets.
Abby
Right.
Amy
That's why I'm thinking maybe we'll just
Abby
go to the regular family.
Eddie
How many friends?
Amy
I told him. He started naming on off last night. Like, it's probably gonna be about six.
Eddie
That's not bad. I mean, Chuck E. Cheese is that much.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, but he's. He's also not gonna go Chuck E. Cheese. Cause he's.
Eddie
No, what I'm saying. What I'm saying is, like, paying for a birthday party is around that anyway.
Amy
That's true. But Bobby, 38 times 6.
Bobby Bones
180, then 3.
Unidentified Guest
18.
Bobby Bones
So $196 with tax total.
Eddie
200 bucks. Not bad.
Amy
Divided by 2.
Bobby Bones
228 then.
Amy
And I split.
Bobby Bones
Hold on, wait.
Eddie
It's even better.
Bobby Bones
Wait, I'm. What did I say? It's 2.
Eddie
2.
Abby
200.
Bobby Bones
228.
Eddie
Oh, 228.
Unidentified Guest
Do you have any.
Bobby Bones
I need the numbers again because I got lost.
Unidentified Guest
Are any of his friends in a wheelchair? Because you can get good seats on the.
Amy
They are not.
Eddie
You can just rent wheelchairs.
Unidentified Guest
Yeah, like, they got good seats.
Abby
No.
Amy
Stevenson does have chin splints, though, So, I mean.
Bobby Bones
Okay, sounds.
Unidentified Guest
I mean, it sounds like a handicap to me. Yep.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Good luck. Hey, so is he gonna do, like, acting and stuff?
Amy
He is enrolled in a TV film class, so I don't know that it's acting. It's more of, like, filming things.
Eddie
That's at school.
Amy
Yes, that's legit. I'm very, very excited. I didn't know he was taking it until I got an email from his teacher about how I have to sign this special permission slip because the equipment they use is really nice. And he has to take a special training for how to use everything. So that way they are allowed to take the equipment out of the classroom as long as they've passed their, you know, how to use course.
Bobby Bones
Is he taking the class because he thinks it'll be an easy, fun class or because he thinks he might like that?
Amy
No, he's interested in it. And they're going to be working on YouTube and Instagram. Like, the class will have its own page and they'll have to upload stuff. So I think it's skills that could come in handy.
Bobby Bones
Does he know his mom's been in holiday harmony on hbo? Max.
Amy
Hbo now he does.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
That's probably what inspired him.
Amy
Yeah, I Don't honestly know what inspired it. Probably a friend was taking it and then he decided. But when I got the email from the teacher, I was like, okay, this is going to be a really cool class for. For him. So.
Bobby Bones
Well, yours is pretty deep. I like all you're telling me something goods. Mine is I found some ice cream sandwiches that are dairy free, that taste good.
Eddie
That's a win though. It is.
Bobby Bones
And it's a. It's a small one.
Amy
I don't remember Stevenson. You know, he's lactose intolerant.
Bobby Bones
So I could send you the link, but my wife was buying some like Epsom salts from Sprouts and I said see if they have any new dairy free ice cream. She said they have some kind of ice cream sandwich.
Eddie
Get it?
Bobby Bones
So they come in circles. Got there
Eddie
good.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Because here's the thing about dairy free. It uses other milks a lot of times, just not cow milk. And some of the other milks taste a lot like cow milk.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
But the other milks can be a bit more expensive because there aren't as many other milks to milk the animals than cows.
Eddie
I see what you're saying.
Bobby Bones
So it's not that it tastes so weird, it's just hard to find good. But I found some ice cream sandwiches.
Amy
Oh, is it Jason Aldean's.
Eddie
Jason Aldean's.
Bobby Bones
Jason Aldean's ice cream sandwiches.
Eddie
He has ice cream. Dairy free ice cream.
Amy
But it's called Alden's.
Bobby Bones
That's exactly what it is. They're circles. They're Alden's organic round Sammy's Dairy free Vanilla bean. Yeah, they're really good.
Eddie
They called it Sammy's.
Bobby Bones
What's.
Eddie
Why would they. That's so annoying.
Unidentified Guest
Why?
Eddie
It's like a sandwich but an ice cream.
Bobby Bones
Sammy, that's annoying. I didn't know what that meant. That's annoying. I'm now annoyed by it too.
Eddie
Like I can't believe.
Bobby Bones
Because it's a shorter. It's a smaller ice cream sandwich. It's circle. Yeah, I'm kind of annoyed by it too. I didn't put that together.
Eddie
You were just reading it. So you didn't realize it, but you said it. I'm like, oh my gosh.
Bobby Bones
That's pretty lame, huh?
Eddie
Hey, what flavor is it?
Bobby Bones
Vanilla normal ice cream.
Eddie
Sammy, don't do it.
Amy
It's vanilla bean.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Amy
Just vanilla with chocolate.
Bobby Bones
It's. That's the only good kind of ice cream sandwich is the chocolate on the outside. Vanilla.
Unidentified Guest
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
It's too risky for the other kinds, like you might hit one that tastes kind of good, but that's only like special occasion. It's vanilla and chocolate on the outside. That's an ice cream Sammy.
Amy
I'm looking at next to the vanilla bean. Alden's also has a key lime that looks like sandwich a. Sammy.
Bobby Bones
No, that's not good. I don't want the chocolate in key lime.
Amy
No, it's not chocolate.
Bobby Bones
Okay, ok, okay. Now we're talking.
Amy
The cookie part is like a vanilla, like white.
Unidentified Guest
You know what?
Amy
It's not bad.
Bobby Bones
I'm interested. I don't know for sure, but if it's an ice cream sandwich. Chocolate vanilla. Yeah, that what you're saying. That's kind of non traditional.
Eddie
You ever had a cookies and cream sandwich? Those are good.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, they're okay. I've also had the mint vanilla.
Eddie
Those are so good.
Bobby Bones
Just not the same. When I want an ice cream sandwich, I need that full Sammy, you know?
Amy
Did y' all ever make ice cream balls as a kid? No, we did it one year for my birthday and I. Well, I guess it's. It's one of the birthdays. Like I just won't forget. Like it was so yummy. My mom got mint chocolate chip ice cream like Blue Bell, and then she baked a chocolate cake. And then you, after the cake is baked, you just mush it up with your fingers and it turns into little crumbs. And then you get your ball and you roll the ball into the cake and so then it's covered in chocolate cake. And then you put it in a bowl and eat it with a spoon.
Eddie
That's delicious.
Bobby Bones
Sounds good. But you don't eat other people's. They put their fingers in, right?
Amy
No, my mom made all the balls for everybody.
Bobby Bones
She washed your hands.
Amy
She made the balls? Yes, she washed her hands and then prepared the balls.
Bobby Bones
I don't want anybody else's hands on my balls.
Eddie
Fair enough.
Abby
Right?
Eddie
Yeah.
Amy
Right?
Bobby Bones
You never know.
Amy
That's how people use their hands to make food.
Eddie
Yeah, you have to.
Bobby Bones
I don't see it though. And I'm hoping they wash their hands or wear gloves.
Amy
I just thought that was like an easy. I mean, sometimes people want an ice cream cake, but this is like an easy at home. Just get the ice cream, bake the cake, mush it up, roll it.
Bobby Bones
We had popsicles growing up, but we had them where we would buy like four packs of Kool Aid for a dollar. And then you make a bunch of Kool Aid and you pour it in an ice tray and you Let the ice freeze and you put a toothpick. Toothpick in it. And then you have popsicle.
Eddie
Done.
Amy
That smart.
Bobby Bones
Mm, that's pretty good.
Unidentified Guest
And Bells do frozen Cokes, where you put coke in a cup, put it in the freezer. Oh, my goodness.
Eddie
My kids still do that.
Unidentified Guest
Oh, my gosh. It was so good as a kid.
Bobby Bones
Let's see. Amy's got hers, I got mine. Mine kind of sucked.
Eddie
Eddie, remember I was telling you guys that I want to change my diet for my testosterone?
Bobby Bones
And, you know, how could we forget overall health?
Eddie
You know, because, like, my kids are young still. Like, I have a 7 year old. I want to be able to hang around, you know, watch them get married and stuff. So this is cool. My wife finally came to me yesterday and said, you know what? I'm on board with you. Let's just cut out all the crap. I will get all the groceries and we're going to change our diet for good. And I was like, this is. It's what I needed. Because by yourself, like, yeah, you're gonna change your diet, but then you get home and they're eating Oreos, and my wife's, like, eating an ice cream, and it's just kind of, like, hard to really be disciplined when everyone around you is eating like crap. So to have my wife on board with me is a huge, huge move.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, we're rooting for you.
Eddie
No, I'm looking forward to it.
Bobby Bones
We are rooting for you.
Eddie
And she says she's all in.
Bobby Bones
That's great.
Eddie
And I've said I'm all in.
Bobby Bones
We're rooting for you, aren't we, guys?
Unidentified Guest
Yeah, we're really rooting for you. Pulling for you. Like, we're really invested.
Bobby Bones

Eddie
Guys, this even means we really believe in you. This even means I can't have pizza on Fridays.
Amy
Mm.
Eddie
How do you just make up your mind on that? You eat pizza every day of your life. Like every Friday of your life you've eaten pizza, but then all of a sudden you're gonna be like, you know what? No more Fridays. That's what's hard for me.
Amy
Why do you have to give up
Eddie
that Friday because it's a slippery slope.
Amy
No. Why? It doesn't.
Eddie
No. It's like. It's like heroin.
Amy
All or nothing.
Bobby Bones
It's not like heroin.
Amy
It's not.
Eddie
Yes, it is.
Bobby Bones
It's not like heroin.
Amy
No. Just know that, like on Fridays, that's what you're gonna have. Your pizza that brings you joy.
Eddie
You know what happens is we order pizza on Fridays and guess what? No one eats everything. And so there's leftovers. So Saturday, Saturday for lunch.
Bobby Bones
What do they have in there not to on Saturday to eat it? Let the kids eat it if they're going to eat it or throw it
Unidentified Guest
away before you go to bed.
Bobby Bones
If you're using willpower at one point, you can use willpower at a different point too. You just have to choose to do it.
Amy
How much is left over?
Eddie
Like half a pizza. Like four slices.
Amy
Okay. You're fine not eating those on salad.
Eddie
Perfect for lunch. We're rooting for you.
Bobby Bones
But we just hear this story, I don't know, every four days about something that you're changing and gonna do different and it's gonna change your life. But we're. Every time we're rooting for you. Just so you know, every single time, we are rooting for you.
Eddie
You guys aren't like this. Like, you wanna do something and you try to do it, but then you struggle with it. I mean, I feel like it's like someone with a addiction.
Bobby Bones
What happened to that gallon of water? You're gonna change your life and you're gonna bring in that gallon of water up. No, no, no, no. Don't grab a bottle. You've had four drinks out of this morning.
Eddie
I lost that, that, that jug or whatever.
Bobby Bones
Can't find another one. Can't find another.
Eddie
Buy another one.
Bobby Bones
I'm just saying.
Unidentified Guest
So now he's down to a little 12 ounce bottle.
Bobby Bones
Your last.
Unidentified Guest
I mean, you really downsized.
Eddie
It's just math, guys.
Bobby Bones
It's not math.
Eddie
I just drink 16 of these now.
Amy
Okay?
Bobby Bones
So our only point is he comes in changing his life all the time and man, we would love it if you did. We do. We're all rooting for you.
Unidentified Guest
Sound like it. He hit him with the gallon water and Eddie's like, oh, no.
Bobby Bones
Eddie looked around his desk. Did you see him do that for a minute?
Eddie
Because I was thinking maybe it's here. But yeah, I lost it. It's not here.
Amy
I think to answer your question, we have all been there. What? At least, speaking for myself, I learned that to me, if you're trying to do something for the first time, because you've sort of done that, you've dabbled. But if you really want to commit, maybe don't put this pressure on yourself to go so extreme.
Eddie
Yes.
Amy
Because that doesn't work for you.
Eddie
Yeah, but I can't go halfway. It's like I said, it's not halfway.
Amy
It's like, okay, you still have. Enjoy your Friday night with your family. It's not like I started doing.
Bobby Bones
Making progress. It's not called going halfway.
Eddie
I started doing cauliflower pizzas. You know, I'm like, oh, that's better. It's a vegetable, right? The crust is a vegetable. Little tomato sauce, a little cheese. No big deal. That's fine. And then I'm just like, I need the real stuff.
Amy
Right?
Eddie
It's gonna work.
Amy
Give yourself the real stuff on Friday and Saturday through Thursday.
Eddie
And then you know what? I can't have pizza without a Coke.
Abby
But,
Amy
like, what about a Diet Coke?
Bobby Bones
You're using absolutes so much that it's hilarious, because you can't. You won't. You have to. Like, that's funny.
Amy
And then football season's starting, and I want a beer.
Unidentified Guest
Oh, my gosh.
Bobby Bones
I can't watch a game without a beer.
Eddie
Every cowboy game, my wife sets up a whole spread of all this crap on the table.
Bobby Bones
Can't make salsa without whiskey. You know, it's just one thing.
Eddie
Salsa, chips. I can't have chips.
Bobby Bones
You're doing lots of can't and won't.
Unidentified Guest
So how long?
Bobby Bones
As Amy said, as she just spoke, from her experience, I can speak from mine. Anytime I commit to something, I realize if I go what they call cold turkey, it never lasts because it is such a shock to the system. I do it for a minute, and then I break. But if I slowly progress at it and I do give myself, what is traditionally called a cheat day, gives me something to look forward to. And it doesn't make me fall off the rails. Because if I just go, no pizza, and I've had it every Friday, but no pizza now forever starting today, God dang, I want that pizza. And eventually, eventually I'm gonna get that pizza, and then I'm gonna have four of them. But if I know I'm gonna have less pizza than before, I'm gonna have it just on Fridays, and I'm not gonna have it on Saturday, but I get it on Friday. To me, it's a game. Can I get there? And then two. I'm not always thinking about the Fact that I'm never getting it again. You have to kind of balance that within yourself. If you wanted to be a runner, would you just go out and run a marathon day one?
Eddie
No.
Bobby Bones
No. You'd run a mile. You do like Ray does run a mile. Although I don't think Ray ever ran past a mile. But you get the point. I think he got his mile and that's his thing. You have to slowly work up to it.
Eddie
I have one last question and we can move on. But how did you cut dairy?
Bobby Bones
Oh, that's because I was sick. It made me sick. That was easy when you have pain. But I would say also whenever you're doing. Because what are we going to call this? Operation Change My Life.
Eddie
It's just my new diet. Sure. Operation Anti Inflammatory.
Bobby Bones
That doesn't sound fun. Operation Changed My Life. How about that? You're doing Operation Change My Life. This is going to sound so lame, but if you actually take your phone and you create a tab and you write down what you're eating in it and you keep like a journal in your phone. I had to say journal because it's so cliche. But don't do a drill journal. Do your phone. And if you can see the things that you're eating. And then you actually have some victories. Three or four days of actually doing it right. It that snowballs into. Man, I got something going here. I got four days down. I bet you I can do six.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Like the more success you have at something, the more you actually want to work toward more success. And then the fact that you get. I wouldn't even call it a cheat day. You just get a daddy day.
Amy
Don't call it that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, you get an eddy day. Have it on Friday.
Amy
Yeah. Just a normal.
Abby
Your.
Amy
Your normal Friday. You do you.
Bobby Bones
If you cold turkey it. You're gonna run back, they're gonna see where's dad. You're gonna be in the closet covered in red sauce.
Abby
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
You're gonna have it all over your head. Yes. And that's not. Not just pizza. This is generally for. For me in life. That's how I've been able to make any sort of wholesale changes. Is not do it wholesale.
Abby
Okay.
Amy
And then maybe don't talk about it.
Bobby Bones
Maybe don't proclaim for a little bit before it works.
Eddie
Well, I really wasn't trying to talk about it. I was just saying that my wife's on board, which is helpful.
Abby
Now.
Eddie
That's it. That was my. Tell me something good.
Bobby Bones
I think it was more than that, but okay. Yeah, we're rooting for you for real. But I think you have to have a different strategy because you keep trying the same way over and over for all these different things, and it never works.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And so you have to change your strategy a bit, and we're rooting for you. But don't go no pizza. Go Friday only. But if you're gonna have willpower to do no pizza forever, you have the willpower to go Friday only and no Saturday.
Eddie
Saturdays are tough. Cause I'm hungry. I don't wanna cook anything. And those pizzas are still there.
Bobby Bones
But how tough is it gonna be to not have pizza on Friday?
Eddie
Really tough, Right? That's gonna be the hardest.
Bobby Bones
Okay, so have pizza on Friday and have a less tough on Saturday when you can have a. Or you can just, like, do this. Take the pizza that you didn't eat is lick it and throw it away.
Eddie
Or I can look at the pizza while I eat a chicken breast.
Bobby Bones
Don't do that, because you'll want to eat the pizza.
Unidentified Guest
How long is this gonna last?
Eddie
Forever, dude. Okay, I'm gonna try this forever.
Bobby Bones
Just be honest with us when you don't.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
All we care about. It's funny. Okay.
Unidentified Guest
Lunchbox. Yeah. I told you last week, plumber didn't show up. I've been trying to get this bathroom fixed for a year now. My wife, you know, took a while on her decision making, blah, blah, blah. But the plumber did hit me up, say, I'm sorry, I had a family emergency, I should have reached out. And me having Grace instead of booking another plumber and the effort of trying to find another plumber, I was like, fine, whatever. Plumber came yesterday, installed the shower compartments in the plumbing, and so now I just need to get it tiled and we'll have a working bathroom hopefully soon.
Eddie
You're gonna tile it.
Unidentified Guest
No.
Eddie
Okay.
Unidentified Guest
No, I don't have time to do that. Okay.
Amy
Well, do you know how, though?
Bobby Bones
But you have time.
Amy
I mean, you can YouTube time.
Unidentified Guest
You could YouTube it.
Eddie
Yeah, you can.
Unidentified Guest
You can. I ain't got time.
Bobby Bones
You do have time. We all have time for our priorities.
Unidentified Guest
No, not really.
Bobby Bones
And how many hours a nap do you take a week?
Abby
A week?
Unidentified Guest
A week.
Abby
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
If you were to do the math on naps per week, probably 12 hours.
Eddie
It's a lot of sleep.
Unidentified Guest
Yeah. I mean, you need it.
Bobby Bones
If you're not getting snap, that's not bad.
Unidentified Guest
Right? But if you don't get enough sleep, you're doing a disservice to your body. So you could Push through and not nap. But you always say drinking water and sleep is the two and most important things a human body needs. And so you have to think about that.
Bobby Bones
And you are. So. Yeah, but you could. You just. I wouldn't want to either. So I'm not saying, oh, you should want to. You could, though.
Unidentified Guest
You could, but you got.
Bobby Bones
No, you could.
Unidentified Guest
Yeah, I could. But you also have to understand that is like, it was a flood of a hot water heater. So it is kind of an insurance thing. So not really my. Let them pay for it.
Bobby Bones
But you could if you wanted to.
Unidentified Guest
If I wanted to. But you know what I mean.
Bobby Bones
You don't have time.
Unidentified Guest
That's why I don't have time and that's why I got insurance.
Bobby Bones
I don't know. Let's check in with Abby.
Unidentified Guest
Oh, boy.
Bobby Bones
Abby, do you have any sort of tell me something good?
Abby
Can I do a tell me something suck? But I do have a tell me something good.
Eddie
Interesting.
Unidentified Guest
This is why we. It's tough going to her.
Bobby Bones
No, it's not. You did the same thing the other day. The exact same thing.
Unidentified Guest
No, no.
Bobby Bones
You said, can I do suck? I thought we were doing suck. And I was like, yeah, sure.
Unidentified Guest
Yeah, I know.
Bobby Bones
Okay, Abby, do good.
Abby
Okay. The good. We just got our engagement pictures taken.
Bobby Bones
Okay, so you haven't seen them yet?
Abby
No.
Bobby Bones
What would you guys do? A field or what?
Abby
The Nashville skyline, like down on the bridge.
Eddie
Dang, that's cool.
Abby
The pedestrian bridge. Yeah, it's cool. It's like, way behind. So when I tell people, like, engagement pictures are like, it's a little long after the engagement.
Bobby Bones
Who cares? So you're living your life on your timeline.
Abby
That's true. Screw it.
Bobby Bones
Okay, what's your suck?
Abby
Well, the electricity is basically broken in our house. Everything trips the breaker. I don't understand anything we try to use.
Bobby Bones
Old house.
Abby
It's not. No. Well, yeah, kinda. I don't know how old it is, but I don't understand.
Bobby Bones
Have you had someone come out?
Abby
Yes, we've had someone come out three times and they can't figure it out either. Like, the refrigerator just blows the breaker. We had the air fryer just blew the breaker.
Bobby Bones
Wow.
Abby
So you can't use anything.
Bobby Bones
That's not good.
Abby
I know. They've been out four times.
Bobby Bones
That's a small amount of energy.
Abby
That's what I don't get.
Eddie
And the refrigerator, that's tough. You need that food.
Bobby Bones
Been coming out.
Abby
An electrician. He's real.
Bobby Bones
Do you have one single guy that keeps coming out or have you. Have you tried different people?
Abby
It's the same guy.
Bobby Bones
Okay. I would try someone else.
Abby
He's licensed and very good. He works for a company.
Bobby Bones
I hear you. And it could be the best. But if you can't figure it out, I bet the fifth time he doesn't figure it out either.
Abby
Yeah, that's true.
Bobby Bones
They should probably just try someone else. They should a lot of times. Probably not your case. But because we're using our air so much. That's such. It's so much work at times for our systems that it allows other things to trip doctors.
Abby
You keep your house freezing, don't you?
Amy
You do.
Abby
I'm just imagining your air. It's working. Double time.
Bobby Bones
Yes, Abby.
Abby
Okay.
Bobby Bones
What are you going to do about that next?
Abby
Well, maybe call someone else, I guess.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I would try someone else. Not that your guy isn't really great, but if you can't figure it out, I think it's time for. He should have brought someone else. Let me bring my buddy in to take a look since I can't figure it out.
Abby
Yeah, it's kind of like a game for him now. He's like, ooh, let's try this next.
Bobby Bones
Okay, he's doing that. At least. That's something. But you go to a doctor and he's like, man, I can't figure out your elbow. Come back to me tomorrow. And you go back. Yeah, still got nothing. Come back to me tomorrow. Oh, good to see you again. Still ain't got it, man. Okay, well, good luck.
Abby
Yeah, thank you.
Bobby Bones
I'd try somebody new.
Abby
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Okay. That's it. That's. Tell me something good. And one. Suck. Thank you. That's what it's all about.
Amy
That was.
Bobby Bones
Tell me something good. It's time for the good news with Bobby. Tell me something good. This guy went hiking in Utah. He's 83 years old. He was missing. They couldn't find him. Now, if you're 33, you're going. All right, they got a puncher's chance here. He's 33, probably active and strong. If you're 83. Sucks for grandpa. He probably ain't coming out.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
He was gone for 36 hours. He was missing in a remote area of Grand Canyon National Park. He was part of, like, a. A small group and separated. They sent out crews, drones, search dogs, helicopters. They were able to kind of dial in on a cell phone signal. He didn't have a cell phone signal, but you know how they have that, like, emergency kind of signal. It's always weird. You can call 91 1, but you can't use the phone, Right?
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
That always felt a little funny. But they ended up finding him. So they couldn't land where he was because it was so rough. But they knew where he was. They dropped people as close as possible. Those people hiked in. They took clothing and water and they had to carry him out on a stretcher. But he's alive. 20 rescuers worked together. They got him out. He was evaluated. He's now been released and he's healthy again. But an 83 year old lived through all of that.
Amy
Wow.
Eddie
He for sure thought it was over.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
I bet that night, the first night the sun goes down, you're like, it's over. I'm not going to wake up from here.
Bobby Bones
What a way to go. And if he loved hiking. N still bad way to go. Bad way to go. That's from Newser. That's what it's all about. It's time for the good news with Amy. Tell me something good.
Amy
You know the little monkey thing? Punch who like. Yeah. Because it was all lonely and needed a little stuffed animal to keep him company. Well, guess what? He no longer needs that stuffed animal anymore. He's got friends. But also he just received 2500 birthday cards from supporters in Japan and around the world because it was his birthday.
Bobby Bones
That was a weird viral thing because Punch the monkey went so viral for about a week because they wouldn't accept him. None of the other monkeys would accept him. They'd kick him out.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And then Punch got kind of mean.
Eddie
Punch had enough of it.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
But now it looks like he's warmly welcomed. And now he got a bunch of birthday cards.
Amy
Spends his day playing and socializing with the other monkeys. And the zoo has created a special birthday display featuring the cards and messages and videos documenting Punch's journey from vulnerable newborn to thriving young monkey.
Eddie
You think the fact that the world is embracing Punch is making the other monkeys even more. More mad?
Bobby Bones
No. I think even sending him a birthday card is stupid because he's a monkey. But.
Amy
But it's like it's everybody coming together.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I think for the exhibit it's fun.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And to get people there. But I'm not gonna waste my time sending an animal a birthday card who doesn't even understand the concept of a birthday or doesn't even understand the concept of a concept.
Eddie
Correct.
Bobby Bones
But I do like it because it shows people are being positive and they care. And then you can go to that exhibit and see that. Although I don't like zoos either. I know. Baham bug on me.
Eddie
I. I think now that you're a dad, you might enjoy the fact that you can go to a zoo and. And watch the kids enjoy this. Yeah, but you're right, it's not a
Bobby Bones
good thing locking animals up. I don't even like putting my dog in a kennel for an hour. And they need that. And I'm like, I don't know. We're taking away his rights.
Amy
Good.
Bobby Bones
I don't mean to poo poo on your story.
Amy
No, it's fine.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I get it. I mean, justice for animals is what I say. Love animals.
Eddie
All right.
Bobby Bones
That's what it's all about.
Amy
That was.

Episode: TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD (TUES): Is Amy’s Son Getting Into Acting? + Eddie's Making A Big Life Change…Again?!
Host: Bobby Bones (iHeartPodcasts)
Date: August 4, 2026
This episode centers on sharing uplifting personal news through the show's signature "Tell Me Something Good" roundtable. The crew discusses Amy’s son's developing interest in acting/film, Eddie's ongoing pursuit of adopting healthier habits (and family support), plus various lighthearted stories and some life updates from other cast members. The tone remains friendly, bantering, and supportive—with the whole team weighing in on everything from birthday plans and diet struggles to ice cream preferences and home repairs.
[02:43–10:54]
[10:54–14:46]
[15:14–26:49]
Eddie updates the show on his plans to overhaul his diet (again), primarily aiming for better health and improved testosterone, with the added challenge of family support.
Bobby and Amy offer friendly skepticism and encouragement, referencing Eddie’s regular pattern of ambitious (but short-lived) health kicks:
They debate the wisdom of “all-or-nothing” approaches versus moderation:
Bobby suggests journaling food intake for reflection and accountability; Eddie agrees to try but acknowledges past struggles with maintaining changes.
[26:53–33:57]
Amy on birthday logistics:
"It was funny. The first thing out of his mouth…'Go to In N Out.' It's like he's been waiting ever since that one day that we went and I had to turn around because the line was too long." – [04:21]
Eddie on diet support:
"To have my wife on board with me is a huge, huge move." – [16:04]
Bobby on making change:
"You have to slowly work up to it… If you cold turkey it, you're gonna run back, they're gonna see where's dad, you're gonna be in the closet covered in red sauce." – [25:20]
Friendly skepticism:
"We just hear this story, I don't know, every four days about something that you're changing and gonna do different… but every time we're rooting for you." – Bobby to Eddie [20:31]
On the monkey story:
"It's fun for the exhibit… but I'm not gonna waste my time sending an animal a birthday card who doesn't even understand the concept of a birthday." – Bobby [34:22]
Bobby cheering on small victories:
"The more success you have at something, the more you actually want to work toward more success." – [25:05]
This episode of The Bobby Bones Show is a warm, relatable glimpse at everyday wins and struggles. Whether it’s Amy navigating birthday logistics and her son’s new hobbies, Eddie’s resolve to eat healthier (with all the difficulty that brings), or the crew bonding over quirky stories and long-awaited home improvements, the team’s dynamic shines through. The segment structure, practical advice, and mixture of humor and heart make it both entertaining and affirming—especially for any listener riding the waves of modern family life or self-improvement kicks.
