Bobby Bones
It's time for the good news.
Amy
Tell me something good
Bobby Bones
around the room. Amy.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Last night I heard these words from my son. Mom, this food is so good. And that just made me feel really awesome.
Eddie Wiselyak
It's awesome.
Amy's spouse or close friend
It's a good feeling. It's a good feeling. I just gotta say, and it wasn't anything crazy. I didn't really make it make it. I bought a rotisserie chicken and then shredded it up, which, this is a pro tip. You gotta shred that chicken right when you get home from the store when it's hot because if it gets cold, it's so difficult to shred. But I have these gloves that I wear, like, the kind they put on at the.
Eddie Wiselyak
What are those called? The rubber gloves?
Amy's spouse or close friend
Yeah, disposable gloves. And I just throw those on, and then I just go at it and I rip the chicken apart.
Narrator for Adventures of Curiosity Cove
And you.
Amy's spouse or close friend
That way you don't waste it, because I feel like when it's hot, it just falls off the bone. But then if you put it in the fridge and then shred it later, you. You don't get all the meat.
Bobby Bones
What'd you serve with it?
Amy's spouse or close friend
Oh, so I did that, and then I did rice and avocado and was supposed to do salsa, but on my way home from the store, I set the grocery bag down too hard on the counter, and the salsa literally broke.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I saw your Instagram story.
Amy's spouse or close friend
And so that it was supposed to be like a little Mexican bowl, no salsa. So just rice, avocado, chicken. And then I was like, just pretend it's got a little kick to it. But he thought it was pretend. So good. And it was so easy.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I did a little cooking last night. If you missed the old podcast. Yeah. You'll be able to hear that on the podcast. I did learn. I think part of mine is I learned how to cut brisket. I took a picture of it, and then it told me. By the way you took the picture, stand behind it. This is the grain. Because you're supposed to cut against the grain.
Eddie Wiselyak
Correct?
Bobby Bones
Meaning which? The way the muscles go the opposite way. I wasn't gonna put that in my tell me something good. But speaking of food, I did that, and I cut way too much, and then I was like, what am I gonna do? Eat all this? Yeah.
Amy's spouse or close friend
I don't know. Based on your story earlier, I don't know that yours is really in the tell me something good category.
Bobby Bones
I finally got it in, and then I had a nice little meal. Maybe Eddie will cook me a little something.
Eddie Wiselyak
You want. You want me to. I will.
Bobby Bones
A little sandwich or something?
Eddie Wiselyak
Yeah, I could do. Ooh, a little chopped brisket sandwich. Yeah, those are good.
Bobby Bones
So I did learn that couple for me. My wife's parents get in today, so we know we're headed off to the cruise. And so they're just going to be here. So they. I always like when they're here anyway.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So they're in town. That's going to be cool. I'm getting pretty good on the speed bag boxing.
Eddie Wiselyak
That's the one that you hit against the very difficult. The one that kind of rocks back and forth. That one's awesome.
Bobby Bones
So it's very much a pattern and as soon as it's off, so I'm getting pretty good at it. So when a box? Yesterday, my boxing time, just around 4 o', clock, so. And I box with a guy who still is a active boxer, like professional.
Eddie Wiselyak
Yeah, he fights. No way. Canelo. That's him.
Bobby Bones
Marvelous Marvin Hagler. So I was exhausted yesterday and I don't really know him well enough for him to know when I come in and I got nothing in the tank. I'm just quiet. And he was like, you all right, man? I was like, yeah, dude. It's been a long day. But when I got to the final, the final thing that we do, it's one minute, one minute, one minute. So it's one minute of body squats, one minute of push ups, one minute of crunches. When I got to that, man, I was so happy. And that's the. That's a very difficult part of it, but I was like, I did it. It's one of those days where it was just a long day. You want to get through. You want everything to be good. You start to get tired, so you wonder if the quality is less. But I got through and I was feeling pretty good. You know who I interviewed yesterday was Melissa Peterman. Talked about that. She's great. She's on. She was on Reba as Reba's best friend. Well, no, no. Reba's ex husband's wife's new wife. Yeah, yeah. They're best friends in real life. And then she's back on the new show Happy's Place with Reba. And so was talking to her, but she has a really interesting story. But. So everything was good, but it was a long day yesterday. But I'm getting pretty good on this. One time he hit himself in the head, though.
Eddie Wiselyak
Oh, no, Rocky never did that.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Do you wear your glasses?
Bobby Bones
No, no, because they hurt my nose. Anything I'm doing up and down, it like, cuts in the top of my nose.
Eddie Wiselyak
So how do you see the bag?
Bobby Bones
Well, that's the thing. Don't got to see the bag be the bag.
Eddie Wiselyak
Oh, that's what they tell you?
Bobby Bones
Nah, that's what I say. Yeah. Lunchbox.
Amy
Oh, man, today is a big day. Today is a great day. When you sit down on your couch tonight, you Turn on your TV. Survivor season 50 starts tonight.
Bobby Bones
So what's. Because I know this is a big season, but what's different about this one?
Amy
They're bringing back all players, like, players from all generations. So years and years. So it's the past 40 years.
Bobby Bones
Austin, Rob, come back.
Amy
I don't think he's.
Bobby Bones
Is he the most famous one ever? Him and Elizabeth Hasselbeck? Probably.
Amy
I would say yes.
Bobby Bones
Or Richard, but he doesn't really do anything anymore. He's a season one naked guy.
Amy
Yeah, I would say. I think Richard died.
Bobby Bones
Richard Hatch.
Amy
Yeah, I think he's dead.
Bobby Bones
He was in jail, too.
Amy
Yeah, because he didn't report the million dollars he won on Survivor. I mean, how can you go on a national TV show and not report that?
Bobby Bones
That's called hiding in plain sight, man.
Eddie Wiselyak
Do they tell you, though? Like, does someone tell you, hey, some people don't know. Taxes, like, some people don't know.
Bobby Bones
That's not. That doesn't work, your honor.
Eddie Wiselyak
Okay.
Amy
But, yeah, it's just bringing all the players back. And I believe it's for $2 million instead of a million.
Bobby Bones
Anybody famous on there? Because sometimes they'll bring in famous people to be part of the crew.
Amy
No, no, it's all past players, so. Well, they do have Mike White, who is the. Oh, yeah, White Lotus. Big deal.
Bobby Bones
Writer, creator. White Lotus. Oh, but he was on it already.
Amy
Yeah, he was already on it. And so he's coming back for this season.
Bobby Bones
So.
Amy
Yeah. I can't wait.
Bobby Bones
Did he do that show as a White Lotus creator or was he just.
Amy
It was before White Lotus.
Bobby Bones
So he was just a. What was his job description? Writer.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
TV writer.
Eddie Wiselyak
Yep.
Bobby Bones
No way.
Eddie Wiselyak
That's cool.
Bobby Bones
That's cool.
Amy
So, yeah, I can't wait. I'm so excited and I love this show.
Bobby Bones
You watch live.
Amy
I'll watch live. Get the kids in bed before it starts 8 o'.
Bobby Bones
Clock.
Amy
Start 7 central.
Bobby Bones
You make them go to bed at 7?
Amy's spouse or close friend
Yeah, well, they're young.
Amy
They usually go to bed at like 7:38.
Bobby Bones
Okay, exactly. You make them go to bed at 7 for this. I just feel like you're. You're manipulating it a little bit.
Amy
Yeah, I am manipulating. I just mean, guys, we've had a big couple of nights. You need to go to bed a little.
Amy's spouse or close friend
He sets the clock, like, to say 7:38.
Bobby Bones
Arkansas plays Texas A and M tonight. Big game. Whoa.
Amy's spouse or close friend
We are against each other.
Bobby Bones
You're not Texas A and M. Yes, I am.
Amy
Oh, you guys better not talk.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Yes, I am.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Eddie Wiselyak
You're also Alabama. Virginia.
Amy
Auburn.
Eddie Wiselyak
Yeah, Auburn.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Well, whatever. I mean, if. If it's a. It's a. If it's a fun rivalry, why not? Like. Why not make it interesting?
Bobby Bones
Okay, 500 bucks.
Eddie Wiselyak
That's interesting.
Bobby Bones
That's what you. When someone says make it interesting. That's too interesting.
Eddie Wiselyak
Straight up, 500 bucks.
Amy
Do it.
Eddie Wiselyak
Amy.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Too far away. I don't even know how good anybody is.
Bobby Bones
No, it's your team.
Eddie Wiselyak
You are your.
Bobby Bones
You're very educated on this.
Amy's spouse or close friend
No, because Arkansas has been doing good at basketball.
Bobby Bones
We've been doing pretty good. Yeah. I mean, we're no match for Texas A and M, but.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Now you're just saying that. Now you're just saying that.

Nancy Glass
He identified Jermaine Hudson as the perpetrator. Jermaine was sentenced to 99 years.
Eddie Wiselyak
I'm like, lord, this can't be real. I thought it was a mistaken identity.

Ben Higgins
What do you do when the headlines don't explain what's happening inside of you? I'm Ben Higgins, and if you can hear me is where culture meets the soul. A place for real conversation. Each episode, I sit down with people from all walks of life. Celebrities, thinkers, and everyday folks. And we go deeper than the polished story. We talk about what drives us, what shapes us, and what gives us hope. We get honest about the big stuff. Identity when you don't recognize yourself anymore. Loss that changes you. Purpose when success isn't enough. Peace when your mind won't slow down. Faith when it's complicated. Some guests have answers. Most are still figuring it out. If you've ever felt like there has to be more to the story, this show is for you. Listen to if you can hear me on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Eddie Wiselyak
Eddie, I don't know, man. Something's been in the air. It's been, like, going my way lately with parking spots. It all started at church. Like, church is a mess. Like, there are so many people parking at church that. And we're always, like, maybe 10, 15 minutes late. So by the time we get there, they spit me back to, like, the very last row. And so Sunday, I. I pull up, drop off the kids over the little kids center or whatever, and right when I start driving, a parking spot opens up, like, out of nowhere. I'm like, that's cool. And then last night, we were at a basketball game at this school. Amy. You know how these basketball games go. There are so many cars in the parking lot, and I'm like, I'm never gonna find a parking spot. And out of nowhere, this car just starts backing up. And I look around. Know what? That's for me. So I feel like something's in the air that's just kind of Like, I don't. Maybe it's God being like, hey, you know what?
Bobby Bones
You deserve a break today.
Eddie Wiselyak
Throw you a little cookie here.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, isn't it? So you ever do the thing where you're in a parking spot, it's all packed and there's a spot that's so good, you have to question, is it handicapped? Is.
Eddie Wiselyak
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Like it's so good, you're like, something's off. Because it's.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Why is it available?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah, that happens sometimes.
Eddie Wiselyak
I have a question about that. So if you see like, you know how the parking, the handicap parking spots, they're like five or something, right? Like all next to each other. But then sometimes the paint's kind of rubbed off on one still handicapped and it doesn't have a sign in front.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Like they change their mind.
Eddie Wiselyak
It's not that it's worn out, it's almost like they just painted over it.
Bobby Bones
If there's four other signs and there's no sign on the fifth with rubbed out on the ground that's no longer handicapped.
Eddie Wiselyak
That's what I'm saying.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie Wiselyak
My wife was like, no, that's in
Bobby Bones
the middle of my opinion. Not admissible in court though, for the record. But I would think if there's four signs, not a sign on the fifth and a rubbed out on the fifth, it means they think that there's though all five of those don't ever all get used. Yeah. So let's go ahead and clean one up. That's a good question though. Yeah.
Eddie Wiselyak
Because my wife is like, no, it's surrounded by a bunch of handicaps. I'm sure they mean that to be.
Bobby Bones
If there's one in the middle of the two other. If it's like two wiped out with no sign two, then that one's in the handicap.
Eddie Wiselyak
Well, it was like three blank one.
Bobby Bones
That's.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Oh yeah, that's handicap.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Ray, play that voicemail, please.
Voicemail Caller
Today my dad threw five scratch off tickets at me and asked me to scratch them for him. I was like, sure, whatever. He spent $500 on five scratch off tickets. My question is he ended up winning fifteen hundred dollars with these five scratch off tickets, which is amazing. But since I scrat them for him, do I get a cut of that? Let me know.
Bobby Bones
Thanks. How about what should our cut be? 100 bucks.
Amy's spouse or close friend
I was going to say let's make it 10%.
Bobby Bones
That's what it is though. That's 10%.
Amy's spouse or close friend
I thought that would be 150.
Bobby Bones
No, you can get it. Figure it out.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Is it 100?
Bobby Bones
Figure it out. You got it.
Amy's spouse or close friend
105.
Bobby Bones
You can do this. What is it?
Amy's spouse or close friend
I don't want to do it. I don't want to. I was thinking 1500. So 150 would be now. Is that not right? How's that not.
Bobby Bones
Hold on.
Eddie Wiselyak
Now she wants to do it.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Hold on. How I do want to do it.
Bobby Bones
You want to hear the voicemail again? No. What'd she say exactly? Do you want to hear the voicemail again? Yeah. Okay.
Voicemail Caller
Today, my dad threw five scratch off tickets at me and asked me to scratch them for him. I was like, sure, whatever. He spent 500 on five scratch off tickets. My question is, he ended up winning $1,500 with these five scratch off tickets, which is amazing. But since I scratched them for him, do I get a cut of that? Let me.
Eddie Wiselyak
Thanks.
Amy's spouse or close friend
I get it now you're subtracting the 500 that he spent, so he's. His profit is a thousand. Got it. So, yeah, 100 bucks. 10%.
Bobby Bones
I think that's fair.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Totally.
Eddie Wiselyak
Shouldn't that agreement come before the scratch, though?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, unless it's dad and daughter.
Eddie Wiselyak
Yeah, but, like, my dad used to hit, like, here, scratch these, and whatever I get, we'll split it. And that was before the scratch, so we knew what was happening.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I think if he said, we'll split it, then we would say she should
Eddie Wiselyak
get half of it.
Bobby Bones
But I think if he didn't say that and she just threw him, I would say, hey, I think I should get 10% of that hundred bucks scratch fee.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Amy's spouse or close friend
You just. Is it so. But I don't think it's too late.
Bobby Bones
No, just say, dad, I want my scratch fee. It's your dad. It's not like it's me. I worked in the office with you.
Eddie Wiselyak
It's just like, when my kids, like, they'll help me pick teams for bets, right? They'll be like, here, dad, they're definitely gonna win. And then it hits. They're like, hey, where's my money? I'm like, you didn't bet it. You just told me that they were gonna win.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. A little different. Is it? They really didn't do anything. She did the literal work scratching them. He threw them at her.
Eddie Wiselyak
Okay.
Bobby Bones
If you say, hey, kids, pick two winners, and if it wins, or just pick two winners for me, I think that's different. Yeah, it is different, Ray, Play this one, Bobby.
Amy
I was looking forward to the Mariana thing. I'm so glad it's already so interesting just listening to it on the podcast.
Bobby Bones
I love it.
Amy
I can't wait to watch it. I'm going to go watch it on Netflix. Thank you so much. I love the show. Love you guys. Bye.
Bobby Bones
Thank you. My Bobby cast with Mariana Van Zeller is up. And it's not about music. Not everything is, but 80% of the stuff that we do is music or, like the arts. But I'm just so interested in her story because she goes and she just bunkers down with the cartel, learns about them so she can tell us about it. So ways that we can, you know, her war on drugs talk that I posted about was pretty interesting. She's like, we've been doing this for decades. More on drugs. More on drugs. And spent billions of dollars and we are no better than we were then. Billions of dollars then.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Yeah, that's crazy to me.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So it's up on. If you want to listen to it, just search for the Bobbycast wherever you get your podcasts. But if you want to watch it, it is on Netflix. So, yeah, appreciate that. It's getting. It's getting a good response. But she's great. And there's one that I'm going to put up about the hacker stuff is crazy. When she goes and talks to hackers or scammers, there's, I think. May I put that clip up already? About when she was talking to the person in India I was telling you about it, it was India. And she was like, I can see in their bank accounts. I know they're rich, so I don't mind taking it. She's like, how much is rich? She's like, oh, if they have a thousand dollars, that's rich to me. So I don't mind taking some of it.
Amy's spouse or close friend
So that's crazy.
Bobby Bones
It's all up. Thank you for the very nice word. That's. Tell me something good. There you go.
Eddie Wiselyak
That was.
Amy
Tell me something good.
Bobby Bones
It's time for the good news with Bobby.
Amy
Tell me something good.
Bobby Bones
Friendly. Wiselyak is four years old. She's in the hospital at the Neurological institute at Cleveland Clinic, and she has a severely weakened heart. She has been in the hospital for more than 100 days. The construction workers there, they're helping build this new building, go to her window every single day. And they write things on her window every single day. And so the connection began last month when her father shined a flashlight towards the construction site. And the construction workers saw it and then shined one back. And so then they started putting up signs from down there saying things like, get well soon. Praying for you and your family. They've even organized donations to go up to a room. And they come and they write things on our window as well.
Nancy Glass
That's cool.
Eddie Wiselyak
That's so cool.
Bobby Bones
It's a great story. That's from sunny skies. That is what it's all about.
Eddie Wiselyak
That was.
Amy
Tell me something good.
Bobby Bones
It's time for the good News with producer Eddie.
Amy
Tell me something good.
Eddie Wiselyak
Santa Cruz, California. There's a local surf spot called Steamer Lane. There's 10 surfers out there waiting for waves on their boards when they see a boat come by with a family on it. The family's cheering. They're having fun. They're playing with the waves. Well, they hit a wave straight on, flips the boat over. Everyone goes overboard. Three kids, two parents, and none of them have life jackets. So the surfers, what do they do? They paddle over to the boat, take their boards, rescue the people, put them on their boards, and take them back to shore.
Amy's spouse or close friend
Oh, wow.
Bobby Bones
Everybody got saved.
Eddie Wiselyak
Everyone got saved. And if you don't know about surfer life, man, I don't.
Bobby Bones
I don't know, bro.
Eddie Wiselyak
They look, bro, they look out for each other.
Amy's spouse or close friend
It sounds like you would say we.
Eddie Wiselyak
Well, I haven't surfed in a while, but, man. Yeah, you're right. We do look out for each other out there on that ocean, man. It's awesome.
Bobby Bones
You ever see the video of that boat full of people, like, young people? It's like. And, oh, the boat hits a wave and everybody goes flying out. And then it became such a meme. The family guy did it in a cartoon. No.
Eddie Wiselyak
Did the surfers come and save them?
Bobby Bones
No, they just all flew out of the boat.
Eddie Wiselyak
It's.
Bobby Bones
It's pretty epic.
Eddie Wiselyak
Okay.
Bobby Bones
There you go. That's what it's all about.
Eddie Wiselyak
That was.
Bobby Bones
Tell me something good. This is an I heart podcast.

Amy shares a feel-good parenting moment: Her son told her, “Mom, this food is so good.”
Humorous setback: Amy laments how her salsa jar broke before dinner, altering her plan for a Mexican bowl but still delighting her son.
“It was supposed to be like a little Mexican bowl, no salsa. So just rice, avocado, chicken. And then I was like, just pretend it's got a little kick to it. But he thought it was pretend. So good. And it was so easy.” —Amy (03:24)
Cooking Adventure: Bobby discusses learning how to properly cut brisket using a picture to identify the grain, resulting in cutting too much and pondering what to do with leftovers.
Boxing Update: Bobby is improving at speed bag boxing, an intricate skill that requires rhythm and focus. He recounts boxing with a professional who checks in on him after a rough day and details the grueling end-of-session fitness circuit: one minute each of body squats, pushups, and crunches.
Funny Moment: Bobby shares he occasionally hits himself in the head with the speed bag, and reveals he doesn’t wear his glasses while boxing because they hurt his nose:
"Well, that's the thing. Don't got to see the bag, be the bag." —Bobby (06:31)

Lighthearted rivalry: Friendly ribbing about the Arkansas vs. Texas A&M basketball game leads to fake betting talk.
