This is a podcast called 25 Whistles. Talking football. And they all wear a whistle. Yeah, it's stupid, but what did you expect? It's a podcast called 25 Whistles. 25 right below the whistle. Yes, sir. We hit our parlay suck. That's all we need to do with its NFL games.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that's it. That easy?
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah, I did. And again, I will say when we suck and we lose and we. That's why that's mostly every show we did hit. And I did say my one bet that I felt absolutely 100% about was the Chiefs -4 at the Browns. And then I started second guessing myself. I'm not gonna lie. Cause everybody was like, don't bet that one that they're gonna lose. And then once again started. It was over.
Bobby Bones
It was never 21, nothing.
Doug Gottlieb
Never felt more than less than more sure on myself within a five minute period. So. Yeah. What up? I have so many notes, so many things I wanna talk about. Number one, we watched the Heisman ceremony.
Bobby Bones
Did you cry?
Doug Gottlieb
No.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I cried a little bit. I really did. I've never cried watching that thing.
Doug Gottlieb
I did not. I did not cry.
Bobby Bones
I think it's when.
Doug Gottlieb
I mean, I felt emotional, but I guess I didn't. I don't know.
Bobby Bones
Well, I feel weird. I didn't cry. He talked about, you know, his dad not being there. And I just lost my dad. I know you don't have dad.
Doug Gottlieb
You know what I thought about Johnny?
Bobby Bones
Johnny Manzel.
Doug Gottlieb
Mm. Mm. And you're right. I don't have a dad. And that would've resonated. I thought about Johnny from sing.
Bobby Bones
Johnny the gorilla dude. He's made a huge impact in your life recently.
Doug Gottlieb
Cause Johnny the gorilla from Singh, he's playing, his dad's in jail watching him from jail and he ends up breaking out, you know. And Singh's a cartoon that I watch. Cause my nephew's like two and it's on all the time.
Jordan Palmer
Oh, okay.
Doug Gottlieb
Okay.
Bobby Bones
It's A great cartoon.
Doug Gottlieb
I didn't know what Singh was. Yeah, trust me, dude. I didn't either. But Johnny's a gorilla, and. Oh. And, you know, I didn't cry because I was thinking of, like, Johnny.
Bobby Bones
You thought that was his situation?
Doug Gottlieb
Well, no, but, like, his dad's. Why? You know, because, sure, he gets up and is talking, you know, to his dad. That's why. I don't know. I just felt like that was things.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Yeah. It was crazy, man. I just was like, oh, that's cool. Travis Hunter. And then I was like, yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Did you see the video that came out of his dad watching?
Bobby Bones
No, I saw today. So where was his dad?
Doug Gottlieb
In jail.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Doug Gottlieb
That's why Johnny. When Johnny's playing piano, his dad's watching from jail. Yeah. Oh, I gotta watch it now. Yeah, you don't, but you do sing.
Bobby Bones
I'm sure I will eventually.
Doug Gottlieb
And Dion says that, like, Travis Hunter's like, don't drink, don't smoke. Like, work, like.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Dialed in. So he loved that. For somebody who does that. I didn't know he was engaged, too. And they asked him, because they were trying to get a. What do you want to play in the NFL? They asked him the question after he had won. In your dreams. Are you playing wide receiver or are you playing cornerback? And he's like, in my dreams, man. I'm just fishing.
Bobby Bones
I love that.
Doug Gottlieb
That's so cool. I just feel like that dude's real. Like, he's just a real dude, so. And I mentioned maybe off. Off mic, off camera to some of you guys. Hey, Kevin, the Heisman pose. Yeah. Can you take your headphones off and can you show us the Heisman pose in the middle here? Yeah. Okay. Okay. For everybody? Yeah.
Bobby Bones
You all want to see it?
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. So do. Do the Heisman pose. Go ahead.
Bobby Bones
Go on the stage. Go on the stage.
Doug Gottlieb
Go on the stage. So go ahead and hit it. Ready? Yep. Thank you. Thank you. You're right.
Bobby Bones
No further questions.
Doug Gottlieb
Wow. So that is not. That's not right.
Bobby Bones
And so it's not right.
Doug Gottlieb
And again. Huh? Says who?
Bobby Bones
The trophy.
Doug Gottlieb
Look at the now Google the trophy. Oh, not hearing my childhood right now.
Bobby Bones
No, we all did it.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. I brought this up to them. I think we're working out.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
And I had only learned it somewhat recently, so why the knee comes up when people do it is because Charles Woodson did that when he was like, do. But the real thing, the guy doesn't lift his knee up. He's on the ground on top of the trophy.
Bobby Bones
It's like, just a stride.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah, he Just a long stride. Since Charles Woodson brings his knee up, everybody thinks that's on the trophy, and it's really not interesting, but there you go.
Bobby Bones
Huh?
Doug Gottlieb
I thought the same thing. I was like, huh, Interesting.
Bobby Bones
Kevin, we all did it, dude. We all did it. Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Don't feel stupid. I mean, you looked stupid, but we all did. You did look good.
Bobby Bones
It doesn't feel real, though. It doesn't feel natural to do the actual pose because the stretch is so long, so unnatural.
Doug Gottlieb
So I encourage everybody to go Google the Heisman Trophy and you'll see what the actual Heisman pose is, which is not that knee up in the air. The arm is out. I've actually held a Heisman Trophy before. Is that heavy? Tebow's really. Luke Bryant brought it over to my house, and I had it at my house for, like, a day. Luke Bryant doing with it. So Luke Bryan.
Bobby Bones
Good question. Good question.
Doug Gottlieb
Luke Bryan paid. So Tebow auctions his off every six months to sit someone's house.
Bobby Bones
Oh, cool.
Doug Gottlieb
He's been able to raise, like, a couple million bucks for stuff. Oh, that's cool. Yeah. And so Luke Bryan at a charity event where Tebow was paid for it, and so looks like, hey, he called me. Hey, can I come over without any sort of. You're like, why? I was. Yeah, why? I got Tebow's Heisman, and Georgia and Florida are playing this week, and I want to do a bit with your Bulldog. And I said, all right, win. I don't have to be there. Like, Luke can come over and do whatever with Stanley. I don't care. And he's like, are you home at, like, 2? And I was like, yeah. He goes, all right. So Luke drives up his big black truck and gets the Heisman out and has a jar of peanut butter with him. Oh, gosh. And so Georgia, Luke is a Bulldog, and Gators and Bulldogs are playing. So what he did is he put peanut butter on the trophy and had Stanley the bulldog, like, licking Tebow's trophy and made a video. And he's like, hey, Tim, the bulldog's licking on your trophy. And so you have to be somebody to do something like that. It was, like, at the house for a day, and then Stanley made, like, espn, because then they picked up the video. Story of it. Stanley's licking the trophy on espn. By the way, Stanley's a dog, everybody.
Bobby Bones
Bulldog.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. That trophy's really heavy.
Bobby Bones
It is heavy.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. It's awesome. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So, yeah, Travis Hunter was holding that. Like, it's not heavy at all. Just kind of waving it around. But I guess that's how strong he is.
Doug Gottlieb
People were asking me if I. Who I was gonna. I don't have a vote. People think I have a vote.
Bobby Bones
Really?
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. I don't have a vote. But they were like, hey, who did you vote for? And I didn't tell him I have a vote. I was just like, drop zoner, because that's who I would have voted for. And I don't. It's not that I don't think Jenny's awesome. He didn't play anybody. He played Oregon. Like, if you're gonna win the Heisman.
Bobby Bones
It was Boise State.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
You need to play in a P4. For the. For the most part, it's like. Like Graham Harrel didn't win it. Like, there are these guys that, like, you play at Hawaii. You're probably not going to win the Heisman because your competition's not. Unless you're playing big boys, you shouldn't be given the Big Boy trophy. I thought it was super close and he's dominant and he'll probably dominate next level. But I went back just for fun. I looked at Boise State schedule. Dear God.
Bobby Bones
Really?
Doug Gottlieb
They had a few tough games. Yes. But they were sisters of the poor man. Like three deaf schools. So you don't win that, you know, you shouldn't win the Heisman. Not saying he's not a better athlete, worse athlete, not a better running back or one of the running backs of all time. You can't win the Heisman whenever you're not playing other guys that have a possibility to play in the NFL for the most part, which is what Travis Hunter was doing. He's playing other P4 schools and playing.
Bobby Bones
Playing both sides of the ball. I was going to say it's such a unique. Very unique.
Doug Gottlieb
And people would be like, well, he wins because he's playing all the snaps. Well, that's stupid. One of the interesting things about Travis Hunter and all the snaps he plays when. At times when he doesn't have stats on defense is because they will not throw at him.
Bobby Bones
Right.
Doug Gottlieb
Do you know why they don't throw at him?
Bobby Bones
They're scared of him.
Doug Gottlieb
Yes. And he still had interceptions and tackles. I thought he should have won. It was very close. Good for Jenny. I thought it was awesome. Yeah. Cool. Yeah. I was happy with it all.
Bobby Bones
Dylan Gabriel just.
Doug Gottlieb
Did he get third? He got third.
Bobby Bones
Third, yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Yes. Gatobo got fifth. Right. Cam Ward got fourth.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Scatterboat got fifth. Yeah. And I think the guy the guy from Army.
Bobby Bones
Oh, that's a guy from army or.
Doug Gottlieb
Part of the running or ucf. I don't know. The logo was really small. You may look at, like, Seventh Veil. Vision's not that good. Anyway. It was somebody with a logo that color. The ucf. Army color.
Bobby Bones
The gold.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. But again, if you look at top 10, and then I remember Eddie said already, army should be in the playoff. Yeah, Army. Army.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. That was. I was wrong about that.
Doug Gottlieb
What's up?
Bobby Bones
I was wrong about that. It's a really a good thing army didn't go to the playoffs. It would have been bad.
Doug Gottlieb
Who was it? It was Army. Bryson Daly. There you go. Yeah. He was six.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Wow.
Doug Gottlieb
So cool. It's over. Heisman's over. I'm pretty happy with. With it. Don't really care.
Bobby Bones
Did you bet on the Heisman?
Doug Gottlieb
I did not. I did not bet on the Heisman winner. I did and I showed you guys yesterday. I put a substantial amount of money on what I thought was the easiest money in years, which was the Chiefs. And I didn't bet the spread. I went straight moneyline.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Good job.
Doug Gottlieb
Because I was like, they're not losing to the Browns. And they didn't lose to the Browns. Although I started second guessing. But then when The Titans go up 7. 0 on the Bengals, I'm like, there's no way the Titans can keep up with this. Like, Bengals defense sucks. Yes. Yeah. But there's no way the Titans can keep up. And so I. That money that I lost on Bama, I just put 2,500 bucks on Cincinnati to win the game. Once they were down 7 0, which gave me a bit of better odds. I hit that. Was feeling pretty good about it. So I made 3. 3400 bucks yesterday. So I'm back on the positives for the month. And now DraftKings has. Which Eddie didn't know. Maybe you guys didn't know. I didn't know.
Bobby Bones
I had no clue, dude. It changed my world.
Doug Gottlieb
You can now look and see where you are for the month or for the year or for all time.
Bobby Bones
Which is the one that, like, to me, like, this is crazy just to think. I mean, I've been on DraftKings since the beginning, so just to think how much I've won and how much I've put back and how much I've kept. Like, all that. All those stats are really cool to look at.
Doug Gottlieb
I wish I could get back into my account to see that. Well, call him, dude. I know.
Bobby Bones
Wait, do what? Open it back Up.
Doug Gottlieb
Open it back up, baby. Can you read me my stats and.
Bobby Bones
Then lock them back?
Doug Gottlieb
Oh, my gosh. Oh, he has them. Read them to him. That's funny. Yeah. I didn't know that was a thing. Yeah, until you sent it over after yesterday's winning. Because I lost all that money at Bama. Spent 2500 bucks and then he make the playoffs. Future hit it back yesterday. Now I'm up on this month about 2000.
Bobby Bones
When I. When you sent that text, I thought that you had created a little graph. And I'm like, gosh, Bones is really into this thing.
Doug Gottlieb
I know.
Bobby Bones
He created his own graph.
Doug Gottlieb
That's funny. I didn't do that, though, but I wish I would have that funnier. Dang it. Did you guys see the cow manager tackle the guy that stole the helmet? What I'd like for you to do Casey, while I talk about this. If you'll pull up, it's. It'll be on TikTok.
Bobby Bones
So Cal, as in Cal, the football.
Doug Gottlieb
Team, they're all on the field after the game, and a fan tries to steal a helmet. And the cow manager sees the fan steal the helmet. And there's a video of the whole football team watching it back in the film room. Yeah. And whenever you find it, Casey, let me know.
Bobby Bones
I think I got it. I'm just making sure.
Jordan Palmer
This is.
Doug Gottlieb
This is like three weeks ago, right? Yeah. Because I'll reset it up again for the old clippy, but it. Okay. If he's the manager, he's the hero. He's a hero on that squad now. Cause the dude's got it. Let me know when you get it.
Bobby Bones
I want to see this.
Doug Gottlieb
I want to talk about the portal. Oh, you have it? Yeah. Okay, so I think it's in, like, the football playroom in, like, the meeting room. They have it up on the big screen, and all the players are watching it like they're watching game film. It's after the game, the players are all on the field, and a fan tries to steal a helmet from the cow sideline. The manager sees him steal a helmet, chases him through the crowd and just rips them, like, drops them. Watch that, Eddie.
Bobby Bones
Dang.
Doug Gottlieb
Did you see that?
Bobby Bones
No. No. Start over here.
Doug Gottlieb
He's been waiting for that moment.
Bobby Bones
He's the guy running. He's the guy running. He's taking it.
Doug Gottlieb
Look at this.
Bobby Bones
That's a wrestling move.
Doug Gottlieb
Powerbombed.
Bobby Bones
It's dropped out, and they're breaking down the film underneath.
Doug Gottlieb
Give him a scholarship.
Bobby Bones
So cool.
Doug Gottlieb
Give him a scholarship. That Team is so hyped, too, because.
Bobby Bones
You know, they all know the guy. Like, he's a messing around. Henry did that.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. Like, another note I had to bring up is why does the WNBA hate Caitlin Clark?
Bobby Bones
What happened now?
Doug Gottlieb
So she gets named, like, Time magazine athlete of the Year. That's what it was.
Bobby Bones
Deservedly so.
Doug Gottlieb
Absolutely. She's more famous than 98% of NBA players.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
Doug Gottlieb
Other than LeBron, KD, Steph, I'm just straight fame.
Bobby Bones
Sure.
Doug Gottlieb
Like, she's more famous than all but 3, 4, 5 NBA players. She's one of the most five famous basketball players in the world. And so they named her, like, Time magazine athlete of the year. So they had the owner of the Mystics on, and she was going. I don't know why they couldn't just put the whole WNBA on the COVID We're all athlete of the year. Oh, good Lord. And someone like, did the, you know, on Twitter, when they do the community notes, whenever they correct somebody under the mystic owner's video, and they were like, Caitlin Clark's two games versus the Mystics was almost 40% of their entire. Wow. Ticket purchasing the whole year.
Bobby Bones
Wow.
Doug Gottlieb
They're just such haters. I don't understand that. I think it doesn't make sense because to us, because the logical thing is there's a superstar. It's going to lift the whole league. But when jealousy comes into play, which is what's happening, it feels a bit different. But like, I. I think about in football terms, you know, a defensive end, whoever it might be, sets. Or a quarterback for sure sets the market again, getting paid. And then they're always like, well, yeah, that's great, because that means we're going to get paid. You know, I think far more players in football. You're talking about 22 on the side and 32 teams. And WNBA, what are they, like, eight teams, 12 teams, whatever it is, five players each team. And then here is this white girl from Iowa and everything about her is different. And she has a skill set that no one else or if they have, they weren't. They didn't get famous for it before. And then I think there's. It's just. It's rampant jealousy.
Bobby Bones
And how long has the WNBA been around?
Doug Gottlieb
Probably 90s, huh? Got started. If I'm guessing 98. If I'm guessing. Yeah. Like, I'd guess 90s.
Bobby Bones
I mean, I'm thinking that's.
Doug Gottlieb
They lose money. They've never made money.
Bobby Bones
Right.
Doug Gottlieb
Ever. And the reason they got to start flying private jets to games and not having to fly is because of Caitlin Clark.
Bobby Bones
You're very close, Kev. 96. Even older.
Doug Gottlieb
So why they just cannot embrace that we even are. Dude, we would never have talked about the WNB if it wasn't Caitlin Clark. Correct.
Bobby Bones
That's so true.
Doug Gottlieb
It's crazy. No.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
So they're all haters. They're still all haters. Caitlin Clark forever.
Bobby Bones
Side note, if I would have bought you a Caitlin Clark hoodie, would you have?
Doug Gottlieb
Absolutely.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Dang it. Thought about for Christmas, but I didn't get that abs.
Doug Gottlieb
Absolutely.
Bobby Bones
Got you something else.
Doug Gottlieb
Great.
Bobby Bones
I saw. And I'm like, gosh, do I? Do I?
Doug Gottlieb
He's like, Angel Reese.
Bobby Bones
I got to angel instead.
Doug Gottlieb
One other note I made. I'm just rolling through my notes before we get over to a really good interview. All the portal chaos is happening now. Teams losing all the players, losing some of the players, players in and out. And everyone's getting mad like, oh, it ain't how it used to be. And agree. And is it super annoying? Yes. And does it suck? Yes. But you want universal. You. You want the most chaos as absolutely possible. If you want there to actually be some change and some fixes, because if it stays just kind of messy, nothing's ever going to be changed. You want it to be so broken that someone has to step in and put regulations in someone like, it's only one year and they're out and no team great. Go crazy. I want it to be such a disaster that somebody has to step in. Otherwise it's just always going to stay somewhat disastrous and annoying. Like, I want it to get so much worse. I want players like the Vegas guy, quarterback who goes mid year, I didn't get paid amount. I want that happening all the time. Because the more that happens, the more someone's finally going to have to go. This needs to be fixed because it will not be fixed until it gets extremely broken. And that is exactly what's happening now. Let it go. Go full frozen. Let it go.
Jordan Palmer
Let it go.
Doug Gottlieb
You need it. You need it to be messed up. You want it to be so messy and people be in and out, people poaching players and paying players. And you want all of it, because that's the only way it's going to get fixed if it is so messed up. That ncaa limited power, but they can still say a few things. Lawmakers, universities, you people are going to have to come back in and define what the structure is, because right now there is none. But it's got to get full Wild west first, so who cares? Teams pulling out of bowl games. I don't have enough players. Marshall.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Marshall. Yeah. So good. I hope it gets ugly. Wise man once said, u, G, L, Y, you ain't got no alibi. You ugly. Yeah, you, you. You ugly.
Bobby Bones
I've heard that.
Doug Gottlieb
Yes.
Bobby Bones
That's some deep stuff.
Doug Gottlieb
But it does suck and it is annoying. And I also understand if you're a player, this is the most money you might ever make your whole life. So of course it's free market. You put yourself on the market every year. I would if I were a good quarterback. Unless I was making a great check and I'd be like, let me just run a north against. Free agent. You'd be a free agent every year. I saw that South Carolina dn the headline. I can't remember, but he's unbelievable. Stud. True freshman. He resigns with South Carolina for 1.5. I'm like, wait, what? New deal. It just looks crazy, but it's just to your point. It's a new era.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
And every team's gonna have about 20 million bucks next year. So in the profit sharing, you know, call the. So we need it to be really broken if we want it to kind of be fixed again. Otherwise, nobody's going to invest time in fixing it. I was watching the. I think it was a Colorado State coach. He was talking about how there will be these agents, and there's not. They're not even real agents. There's no. There is no nflpa. Right. There's no union, so there are no rules, so you don't have to be an agent. And he was talking about people that aren't even agents. I'll just say it's me. I'll use me as an example. Let's say Reed's playing for Arkansas State. Let's go, baby. And Reed. And I don't even know, I just call a school. Let's say I call University of Arkansas. I'm going, hey, I got Reed here, his defensive end. If I could get him into the portal, how much would you give him? I haven't even told Reid I'm doing this, but I'm calling. And they're like, $50,000. I send Reid a message. Hey, Reed, mark's like, you 50,000 bucks if you get in the portal. And he's like, what?
Bobby Bones
Really?
Doug Gottlieb
Really? Reed had to make no calls. Didn't know someone was making a call. But these agents are making calls, trying to chum up their percentages.
Bobby Bones
Wow.
Doug Gottlieb
And not only that, like, real agents in professional sports make 2 to 3% because you're dealing with big contracts, these agents. Because again, there are no rules and regulations. They're making 12, 15, 20% big money. So it's got to get totally effed up before it ever gets back to normal. And so let it go. And then in 20 years, a bunch of legal stuff. Yeah, that's. I mean, that's pendulum swings, right? Constantly.
Bobby Bones
But like, you know, you look at Heisman like Dylan Gabriel, I don't think probably wouldn't have been a Heisman contender if you would have stayed in Oklahoma.
Doug Gottlieb
UCF and then Oklahoma. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I mean, you know, so like, some of that. It's crazy how like it's changed the. The trajectory of a lot of these players.
Doug Gottlieb
Well, I think the Portal and Nil and are all separately. They all can be extremely positive things. It's kind of the alchemy of the boom. And that is where the trouble is. Yeah. Bo Nix would have never had a shot.
Bobby Bones
Bo Nix.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. I think there are a lot of times where a player needs a different scenario or different coaching staff or has made some mistakes and needs to get out from underneath. Sure, no problem with it. But what are the rules? Because there are no rules. So, you know, you sign Nil, there should be some kind of contract. There should be some kind of union. It should be a couple of years. You shouldn't be able to leave every right now. Leave. Heck, you should leave every quarter right now. There should be no rules. If you didn't get to play that quarter, you're out of here. Yes, but eventually there will. It will be more than one year. There will be rules to this, but there will not be until it gets so out of hand. So there you go. That's my take on them. Thank you very much. We had a parlay. Should we sell it? I mean, we should celebrate.
Bobby Bones
We should celebrate. I got champagne. Pop it.
Doug Gottlieb
It's right under you, Chief. Minus 4, Browns win. Bengals minus 5 of Titans win. Packers minus 3, Seahawks win. Nice job, everybody. Draft kings. We weren't up on the app, but I preferred that. There's less pressure. But everybody. Everybody roll with us.
Bobby Bones
Like right. That's when we win. When we're not have no spotlight on us.
Doug Gottlieb
Roll, Roll, baby. I'm so excited about this weekend's games, though. Like the college football games. Yes. Finally it's gonna be. No, no. I mean they cfp. Yeah, it's true. That's true. Okay. All season. They've already started that garbage. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Did you enjoy the week off or were you Kind of like itching.
Doug Gottlieb
I've been so sick.
Bobby Bones
Oh, so you kind of needed that break.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. I mean, I wasn't really playing 100%, so coach let me out.
Bobby Bones
It's not what I meant.

Right now in our country, hate is.
Bobby Bones
At an all time high.
Doug Gottlieb
It's like we're going backwards and hate is winning.
Bobby Bones
It's out of control.
Doug Gottlieb
So many different people and so many.
Bobby Bones
Different groups are facing too much hate. It's enough.
Doug Gottlieb
We need to stop and regroup. We need to change the momentum as.
Bobby Bones
A team because that's what we are.
Doug Gottlieb
Everyone in this country is on the same team, so act like it. And when a team can't get it.
Bobby Bones
Together, what do they do? They call a timeout. We all need to call a timeout against hate. Let's think about what we say and.

Okay, now we're gonna get over and talk with the former NFL quarterback and he's now known as one of the best quarterback coaches in the nation, Jordan Palmer. Jordan has worked and trained and tutored players like Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Sam Darnold. He has a nutrition company he just started called Thread Performance. I need to get on that for myself. Although it looks like it's for kids, it's for kids. I feel like for me it'd be pretty good. Check it out. Threadperformance.com Big thanks to Jordan for coming on. Also Carson Palmer's younger brother. They played on this team the same time. Bengals. Yeah. Carson was starter, Jordan was backup. So cool. Here he is, Jordan Palmer. Hey, Jordan. Before I get to anything else, because I was just watching Josh Allen. I know Josh Allen. Like that's, that's one of the guys, right? Like watching the DN Josh Allen for.
Jordan Palmer
The Jaguars or the Quarterback.
Doug Gottlieb
I'm assuming the quarterback, since you're the quarterback guy. Right. Okay. And Josh Allen for the Jags now is a new name. It's like he had to add, like a middle name so you didn't get him confused. I would too, talk about Josh Allen like your guy, because it has been the maturation of him going the guy that just throws hard to the guy now that's running three and throwing three in the same game and is making equally as good a decisions. Like, what has it been like and why has he been able to mature so quickly?
Jordan Palmer
Well, I think he was kind of born to do this. And the way that God designed him, it was funny. It was during the draft process when he was out here and I was doing interviews. And at this point, it sounds funny now, but at this point in his career, I was trying to, like, lobby for him. Like, I'd go in the media, go on the Herd, and I'd be like, in fact, I went on the Herd, and Colin wanted to talk about Sam Darnold, and he didn't know I was training Josh. And he goes, well, obviously, Josh Allen kids get the Wyoming kids gonna be a bust, but let's talk about Sam Darnold. And I go, hold on. I work with him too. Let me. Let me just try and sell you on him real quick. Right? And so that was kind of like that phase when all the conversations with Josh during the draft process were trying to convince people. Not convince people, but just representing his behalf in the media. You know, my own words, not his, but how good he is going to be and all this. And I. I did a Sports Illustrated interview and I said, josh is the best athlete pound for pound to play the quarterback positions. And. And I doubled down it after his rookie year when he didn't have a great rookie year, and I got smoked in the comments section. They put it on Instagram, they put it on Twitter and stuff like that, and I got. I had a blast just reading the comments, and I got smoked. And my point was, this is like the way I don't care about sporty time, the way he runs, because some guys run fast 40s, but they're not great runners. And some guys don't run fast 40s, but they're great runners. Right? And that's a different skill than timing yourself to run from 0 to 40 yards very quickly. Right? And I go, he's like. At the time, he was like 255. He's got maybe the best arm I've seen, which is a strong Statement, because I've basically seen everybody and. But he's an elite, dynamic runner. He's been one of the best runners in the league. Like, ball carriers, like, biggest threat when you're in the open field with them. And I made that point. And you look at the Vicks and these other guys, Lamar. And it's like. And these guys who've been great runners. And I'm not saying he's as fast as those guys, but I'm like, he's got £50 on them. It's not even the same thing. And so I think that was always there. And then you go back early with Josh Allen. He grew up on a farm. You know, he's got three siblings. His dad is his idol and super hardworking. So when you grow up on a farm, I used to make this comment all the time, like, and the pipe breaks, right? Your dad does not call the plumber. When my pipe broke at my house, my dad called the plumber, right? I wasn't even there for it. When you go up on a farm and the pipe breaks, your dad wakes up at 4am and he goes, wake up, boys. I'm gonna teach you guys how to fix this pipe. And then the next time it breaks, the dad wakes you up and goes, go fix it. And so you become a problem solver, and you have to carry heavy things all the time, and you get up early and you go to bed late. And so, like, I think, like, all the things like the physical attributes and then the toughness and the work ethic and all of that stuff. But I think the biggest thing that. That Buffalo fans know this now, and I don't. And I think maybe the national media is starting to see this is as unique as his physical skill set is, and I'll argue always has been. But as unique as his physical skill set is, his personality is equally as unique. And I don't mean unique like, he's different. I mean, like, unique, like. Like, he might be the coolest guy I've met. Like the, like, the nicest friend, the kindest, like, the most selfless, the funniest, the sharp. So, like, it's not just, like, we get so enamored by the highlights, and it's easy for your eye to go there. But I think Buffalo realizes, you know, the fan base now, the teammates from day one, like, how cool he is, and that's relevant to me. It doesn't show up in the draft process, but it's relevant to me. And then the last piece is he's had multiple Coordinators and right now he's got a coordinator in Joe Brady. Joe Brady worked with Sam Darnold in Carolina, who I've worked with and worked with Joe Burrow in college, who I work with. And it's like, and Josh is as smart as any of these guys to come in here and enter into that room. And so to have the context from these different coaches go, that dude's one of the sharpest dudes I've been around. So it's all three. It's the physical, the mental and the emotional.
Doug Gottlieb
You talk about certain things like growing up and skills that he like Josh had, like working at the farm. And I'm not sure if you work with Drake May at all or not, but I'm curious as to certain quarterbacks are wired certain ways where Drake may his family like he's got to prove himself within his family, much less, you know, just be the guy that makes it in the NFL. But if you're like the youngest kid, are a lot of those home factors do they end up kind of manifesting themselves on the field? And it does separate some of those guys by based on what scenario they.
Jordan Palmer
Lived in growing up, 100%. So I'm a father of four. I have three boys, nine, six and two. And I have a baby girl, she's four months old. I see it right now this morning. My kids play with these things called blockaroos, the little magnet things that you build and you assemble and all that stuff. And my, my six year old was building the zip line for his, for his action figures. And then my 2 year old comes in and smacks it down and he shoves him on the ground like you can't push him. And then he pops back up and my 2 year old like gets up off the ground like ready to square up and fight the six year old. And like, like I'm kidding, but I'm not. Like that's totally part of it. It's different that like my 2 year old's gonna grow up with his older brothers pushing him back and not letting him go. And if they wants to go ride scooters, he's gonna have to go fast and catch up. They're not gonna wait for him. Like I totally think that that's relevant. And think about it, that's going to be his education. Like that's, that's how he's like getting into this world. That's all he's gonna know. And so Drake May, I've been around him quite a bit and you know when you're playing basketball and you're against your brother, who's one older and two, like a D1 great basketball player like that, he's not going to let you get rebounds. Like you're going to have to box him out. And so the accumulation of those reps of fighting for yourself and standing up for yourself and getting back up and competing in games to 11 and you lose 11 0. And so you can lose 111 and then 11 2. And then at some point, hopefully it's 10 10, got to win by two. And so I think, like the evolution of a kid growing up with that, I'll argue that's far more valuable for their development than whatever they're going to learn at school.
Doug Gottlieb
When you're working with a quarterback. And let's use two different kinds of examples. Like a Bo Nix who went through a lot at Auburn, obviously, like his dad was like the guy at Auburn, so he goes to Auburn and they kind of ran him out. And so then he goes to Oregon and succeeds. So he went through a lot of adversity and he played a lot of quarterbacks. Anthony went like Michael Panicks Jr. Right, like got hurt, Indiana, Washington. So all this happens with those two kind of guys. However, and then you take a guy like an Anthony Richardson who does not play a lot of snaps at quarterback, crazy athlete, but doesn't have a lot of experience at playing games in college. Will you treat them differently while training them because of the education that they have through college and through adversity?
Jordan Palmer
Well, it starts with evaluation process for me. And not that I'm going to make somebody stand outside of my building and I'm going to evaluate them before I let them come in, but I want to be right. The guys I train, right? You start off the interview you asked me about Josh Allen, somebody. I was right on, right? So, like, I want to be right and I want what's best for these guys and I want them to reach their potential. But there's a couple things where if a guy has anything on this list of things that I can't help you with, then I don't know how good that guy's going to be. One of the things that I look for is context for adversity. Now, I'm not manufactured adversity because if you grew up with a silver spoon in your mouth and everything was easy, like, I can't fault you for that, right? That was your parents. They did that, right? My brother and I grew up wealthy Orange county kids in Southern California. Like, it's not it's not a knock on me. That's how I grew up. But when I see an athlete who's been through adversity and there are a lot of different levels to adversity and I look at how they've handled it, that becomes, it becomes like, like a process and there's a pattern that exists there. And so let me show you this. This is, this is my logo. Okay. QB Summit is my business. So this is a mountain range, right? This is your career. It's up, it's down, it's up, it's down, it's up. Like I haven't seen this career. I don't know if it's doing this right. Going to the top right corner, right might be backwards.
Doug Gottlieb
There you go.
Jordan Palmer
I don't know. I haven't seen that career right where like they started off and then they like were the best eighth grade quarterback ever and they went to high school and they won the championships and they got millions of dollars in the nil. And then they got the Gatorade thing, they go to college and then they were like, even Trevor Lawrence, where you. His Adidas campaign was number one since day one. And I met him in eighth grade so like he was literally number one dude. That guy went through a lot of stuff, a lot of pressure of being the number one recruit in the country as a sophomore in high school. When you're 15, you don't know anything. And so I look for guys who've been through adversity to see what their context is for adversity. And so one of the things that I love about Bo Nix's story, and I would say Michael Pinnix as well, I've spent a lot of time with Bo is Bo was the kid who this happened, right? He was like the best middle school kid. And then he was on Cam Newton's flag football or 7 on 7 team in high school, which basically like his receivers were like George Pickens and like, you know, a bunch of the other top recruits in the country. He was like the number one recruit in the country. I coached him at the Elite 11. I was the opposite coordinator on his team and we lost in the championship and that and Spencer Rattler was the MVP and Bo Nix was runner up. Like he was always number one and he went to Auburn and he played for an offense that I don't think you can succeed in. In Gus Mazan's offense. I think it was really hard to find success. I didn't like the concepts and, and, and I don't know about the talent around him because I don't know how to score it. But like he was just put in this situation where I don't know how you can be successful. And so they kind of ran him out of there to your point, right. Like they booed him and he's a bust and he's this. And I did another interview and I. And they said, what is Bo Nix is ceiling? And I said, I know. I don't care what's been happening with Bo Nix. I know how he works, I know how he plays. I know how he treats his teammates. I know how he goes about his position. Like his context is like top 10 pick. And I got smoked in the comment section at this time. This guy was transferring. My bad. I was off one pick, went 11th or whatever. Right. Because my point is like put him in a good situation and this guy will thrive. And I think he's going to be offensive rookie of the year. And so when you look at. When I look at a player and if I was a college coach and an NFL evaluator looking at it, one of the first things I need to figure out is what is your context for adversity? Because look at Trevor Lawrence, right? That whole crazy career of everything going awesome. Yeah. And then he had like one of the hardest rookie seasons I've ever seen a quarterback have. And he's a client of mine. Like, that was a really difficult rookie year. And so you better have some context for it because I don't want to make you my starting quarterback. And then when adversity hits, it's the first time you've ever experienced it.
Doug Gottlieb
Sam Darnold is an example of professional adversity. Gets drafted to the jets, plays for the Panthers. We've now seen those are two places that quarterbacks go to die for the most part. Gets to go be with 49ers and now he's killing it with Minnesota. Is that a guy that had been through it or did he have to develop this callous once he got pro?
Jordan Palmer
I think, I think a lot of it is the way that Sam's raised very, very hard working parents and he grew up in Southern California. So I think people think that he's a surfer and was rich and that's not the case. But very blue collar, very humble. And I met him when he was 14 and, and so he goes to FC and they weren't really developing quarterbacks there at that point, in my opinion. He just kind of ran around and made plays and, and, and he had this crazy redshirt freshman year where he rattled off nine straight and was Rose bowl mvp. We probably all remember that. You know, that he became Sam Darnold that game and then followed it up and had a decent year, but good enough to be the third pick in the draft. And, yeah, I was nervous the whole way through knowing that that was the floor in the draft for him at three, because for all the reasons I'm not going to educate you on how the jets have struggled to develop quarterbacks. But. But, yeah, it was put in a really, I think, an impossible situation to succeed. Not really given anything other than new coordinators every year. And if you look at it, too, he. He got coaches who didn't get jobs after that. Right. Like, I don't know if Adam.
Doug Gottlieb
Like Adam Gaze. Yeah. Adam Gaze is not. I don't think not rolled back to college. Yeah.
Jordan Palmer
You know what I mean?
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah.
Jordan Palmer
So. And then the part that nobody catches is probably four years ago, he's in Carolina. And it was the year when they traded Christian. So Christian got hurt Week four at Houston. I was at that game through the first three games of that year. Joe Brady was his coordinator. Joe Brady's the coordinator of the Bills now. Sam was rolling, playing great football, and they built the whole offense around Christian. But I'm not saying he was playing great because he was handing the ball to Christian. Replay. I'm saying, like, he was. No, he was. He looked great. And then Christian got hurt, and they just really struggled to have an identity. You know, Robbie chosen was his main receiver, and you know what I mean? So it was just a tough situation and the year unraveled on him. And then Matt Rule came in, and then Baker Mayfield came in, and then Cam Newton came in, and it was just like, well, here's how to not develop a quarterback. And then coming out of there, he goes to Sam Fran. And it was a smart move to go to San Fran because my point that I made to him, I help guys out in free agency all the time, just making decisions. I said, sam, you've never had context for being in a winning locker room. You've never been around a bunch of guys where every single person you look at is a winner and just everyone in the NFL is not a winner. And so going to Sam Fran, I'll get to Kyle Shanahan in a second. But in Sam Fran, and I don't care what the record is right now, these guys for the last four years have either been in the NFC title game or the Super Bowl. Right. So when. When you. The San Francisco 49ers, the best players on the team. If I said rank the best players, those are also like, I don't know where Devo's on on that list, but everybody else like is also the hardest working most bought in guy. Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Juice, you know what I mean? The left tackle like Bosa. So that's a team where the best players are also the most bought in. And that's not true. I can speak from experience. That is not true everywhere. And so to go and immerse yourself and not have to be the vocal leader to sit back and by the way, Brock Purdy, super hardworking, super bought in, one of the best players on the team, right? So when you look at get to go be around that for a year and by the way, go to the super bowl and watch Brock Purdy play and then get to the Kyle Shanahan how much you learn. And they might run the exact same concept he's ran before, but Kyle explains it differently or shows this different angle and it's like, oh man, I never even thought about. That's easier to think about it like that Kyle's just a fantastic teacher. And so to go and get to do that and sharpen it kind of in the quiet, like in the dark, nobody's watching. Nobody was watching Sam Donald last year to then put him in a position to be in a situation where now he's the guy and has a lot of those same things. Those players in Minnesota really bought in. That coaching staff's phenomenal across the board. It's a great culture. And. And then to play for a coach who played the position, two coaches because Josh McCowns, his quarterback coach, I don't think it's magic, I don't think it's luck, and I don't think it's just Justin Jefferson. I think it's a combination of Sam weathering the storm of six years of kind of getting punched in the stomach and remaining neutral about it not getting too high or too low. So from a sports psychology perspective, remaining very neutral. He's a very neutral thinker. It's something I teach and I always tell guys like Sam who are really talented, really bought in, work hard. I just say, look, in my experience, there will be a time and a place where all you have to do is play to the best of your ability and you will be in every game with a chance to make a run at the end. That's a verbatim quote. And I've been telling him that for about Five years, and he's now in a place where all he has to do is play the best of his abilities and they're going to be in every single game with a chance to make a run at the end.
Doug Gottlieb
What's the advice you give a guy like, let's say a Cam Ward or a Shador or any of the guys going in even last year, and you know, they're going into a situation that Cleveland or the Raiders that don't have a history, at least in the past few years of developing a quarterback, and it doesn't look like they'll be surrounded by the best. Like, how do you keep their heads on straight?
Jordan Palmer
Well, it's a great question. It can feel. The narrative can feel like a dead end, right? Like, Cleveland took me. I mean, my context here, my brother was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals number one guy, right? So, like, and. And this is. He talked about this. So my brother won the Heisman and he was in New York and he did the media tour. And so I think it was. CBS was there at the time, and the people were James Brown, who's Shout Out James Brown, one of the greatest guys on TV ever, and Chris Sims and whoever else. And then Boomer Esiason and Boomer Size and was a quarterback for the Bengals a long time ago. Like, he was the greatest Bengals quarterback before my brother, then before Joe bro, right? And. And so he wins the Heisman. He goes there and kind of locked my brother up to be the number one pick at that point. And he's doing the interview and everyone's like, oh, yeah, congratulations. So tell me about what you're gonna do. But, you know, doing the whole deal and Boomer Size and hand them some. Hands him a Bengals helmet and he goes, congratulations and welcome to the Cincinnati Bengals, where quarterbacks come to die. And that really stuck with my brother because Boomer is like a really sharp, credible, good guy, you know, like, he's not. Like, he's not a lightning rod, you know, and that, that, that comment, I think sat with my brother for a while and not speaking for him, but, like, I know that was a thing. And, and that. And then what happened is the narrative kind of came out and then you hear about it all the time and all these problems. But here's the antidote for that. Joe Burrow heard those exact same things, right? I trained Joe for the draft, and he's a client now. Like, he was the number one pick. The Bengals are going to take him. They weren't going to move off the pick. Anybody could have traded anything. They weren't going to do it. Right. And he went to the super bowl his second year there off of an acl. And so if I'm talking to Chadur or Cam, I go, the narrative is the narrative. Let's say it's Cleveland or the Raiders. The narrative is the narrative, but you create the narrative moving forward. So I talk a lot about neutral thinking. One of my best friends, he passed away a couple years ago. Trevor Moad was arguably the top performing psychologist in the world. And he had a really interesting perspective on explaining how the past doesn't have to have anything to do with the future. You can't prove that it does. Now we can take the momentum of something that's happened, how terrible, everything's gone, how awesome, everything's gone. We can take that momentum into the next thing, but it doesn't have to have anything to do with that. And so the ability to reset, whether it's Sam Darnold resetting personally each year or Joe Burrow going to the Bengals going, look, I know how things have gone, but that's not how they're gonna go. Or it's Shooter or Cam or whoever going to the. Going to Cleveland, going to whoever it is. And like, that pass doesn't have to have anything to do with it. The last piece of advice I give guys when they come in is you're going to be celebrated so much for all that you do during the draft process. You're going to see your own highlights all the time on tv, all the time on social media. You better be damn sure that you are consciously, almost, almost like through a level of paranoia, trying to address the things that you can actually fix right now, the things that you can improve on. Because it's so easy to go through the motions and then go get draft and make be so set on the draft or the Shrine bowl or the, you know, combine or my workout. Like, you can get so set on these individual events that are ahead of you that you better pre damn sure be focusing on what do I need to fix right now that that worked for me in college, that will not work next year. Who can I have around me? Who's going to point those things out and how do I obsess over those things? Because once the draft happens and you put that hat on and now you're like a bear or whatever, like it doesn't matter now you're just the quarterback and expected to play at a high level.
Doug Gottlieb
Final three questions. And I do want to talk about Patrick Mahomes for a second. Not sure when you started working with or tutoring Patrick Mahomes. I don't. Maybe it was a Texas Tech, maybe once he got in the NFL. But when he was at Tech, they were. Tech was fine. 500 team, you know, a little below sometimes. Game over. Like, what's the difference in Mahomes at Tech and Mahomes with Kansas City? Is it Andy Reid? Is it like, where did he hit his maturation? Like, what, What? What's the difference now, Bobby, that is.
Jordan Palmer
Such a good question. Nobody has ever asked me that question. Here's my answer. I don't think a whole lot. And he. I'm one of the few guys that watched him play in college. Their defense, they couldn't stop anybody. He had to score 55 points a game. I went to one of his games, my brother, it was a season opener. He was playing for the Cardinals and they were hosting the Patriots on Sunday Night Football Week one. And it was one of the games when Brady was suspended for the first four games of the season. And Pat was playing at ASU on Saturday. I was like, oh, perfect. I'll come in early. I'll go watch Pat. I've been friends with Kingsbury, his coach at the time, who's OC in Washington now with friends of him forever. Oh, dude, it'd be great. So I. I go there, I bring my son. I'm on the sidelines, I'm watching warmups, watch the game. And the running back for Arizona State, Keelan Bellage, had seven touchdowns in that game. The only thing I remember about it, and I think pat scored like 49 points and lost. That was his whole career. When you know that your defenses and I played this way in college, too, we had to score a lot of points to win. And what happens is a couple of things when you are in a situation, and I'll say in high school, that's fine, too, where, you know, you got to score. I'll make up a number, 45 points to win today, okay? Like, we're not going to win 17 10, okay. Because they're going to score 35. What happens is you have to be uber aggressive. You also can't turn it over. If you turn it over, you have to assume they're going to score. So a pick is like minus seven, right? If you're playing math in your head. And so you have to be concerned, you have to be aggressive, but you have to be somewhat conservative on taking chances. So you got to go after it. But you can't just Throw it up right. You can't take sacks, you can't take, get holding penalties. So how you scramble. So what happens is Pat played in like 30, 40 games like that. And so this run and shoot. Go, go, go. Score, score, score. And I would say at the time Texas Tech was as innovative on offense as anybody in college in the passing game. And I would say now Andy Reid is as innovative as anybody in the passing game in the NFL. So that part didn't change. Not comparing those two coaches, but like that part didn't change. I don't think his work ethic changed. And he's always been a hard worker and confidence wise. For him to sit that first year and then his first year playing it was like 50 touchdowns. Like we're celebrating guys throwing 35 right now, like 51st year. So all that needed to happen was the confidence to translate it from the Big 12, which is irrelevant football at the time, to the AFC west, which is relevant football at the time, to that was the thing that needed to happen. And I think there's a lot of pieces, I think the normalcy of his life of same. You know, he's married, his wife has been the same girlfriend. He's got the same circle of people. He's got the same trainer, Bobby Stroop, who does good a job at anybody getting their athlete. I'm sure he's with Bobby right now working on this ankle as we record this. So I think he's kept his nucleus, his core the same. His confidence is. Obviously thinks he's one of the best athletes on the planet, but I think that's the part that evolved. I don't think anything changed. I don't think he got way better. And again, we're talking about a guy who went 10th overall that if we redrafted 1000% of people would say he was the number one pick. So like it's not. He. This is not a six rounder that somebody found.
Doug Gottlieb
It feels a bit parallel to what Burrow's going through now. What you're talking about Mahomes in college where -7 is an interception, where Burrow's got to score every. Every freaking driver. They're going to lose the game.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah, well, he's scoring every single drive and they are losing the game.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. Even then. I know, I know, I know. Crazy, crazy.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Jordan.
Bobby Bones
I was going to ask you, Jordan real quick about backups and what's the mindset when a backup is called in to take over and like they always say, oh, they're always ready like, you got to stay ready. But realistically, is it like I'm just going to hand off the ball four times and just see what happens or let's. I'm going to be a hero here.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah, that's a great question. So I think there's a couple of ways that a backup enters the game. Okay, let's say, let's say like, like in the middle of the game you go in, okay? So one is you're up big. So you are going to do what you just said. You're going to go and you're going to hand the ball off and take some knees. In fact, it's funny. Last year Sam Darnold was the backup in the Niners and Kyle Allen, who's with the Steelers now, was the backup to Josh Allen in Buffalo. And Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Kyle Allen all did draft prep together and they all live down the street down here, really close to me, and they're best friends. And there was this. We had a whiteboard in our office and we were. Because Kyle Allen kept going in at the end of Bill's games when they were up, and Sam Donald kept going in at the end of Niner games and they kept taking knees. We had this like, toggle over who was going to have more negative rushing yards. It was hilarious. It was like, I think it was like, ended up like 14 to 12, but it was like the text chain was pretty funny. But. So you enter into a game because you're down big or you're up big, right? Those are natural. But you also enter in because the starter got hurt. Now there's two ways of getting hurt. There's temporarily hurt, okay? Like he's gonna go to the blue tent or they're gonna change, they're gonna tape it up, right?
Doug Gottlieb
And.
Jordan Palmer
But you're only in for like a series or a play, right? Like, Sam Donald got hurt this year. Nick Mullins went in, threw a seam down the fade down the sideline, and then Sandra jogged back in, right? So you temporarily go in. The hardest way for a backup to go in is when the, the starting quarterback, you know, right now that is a season ending injury and I am now the starting quarterback of this team. There's nobody behind me, there's nowhere to turn to. And it's my turn now. And Jake Browning is a client of mine. And Jake Browning is the backup to Joe Burrow. And last year he competed with Trevor Simeon for the backup job. He had been on practice club for three years, hadn't played a snap in a game. And Joe Burrow hurt his wrist at Baltimore. And the first play they ran with Jake Browning was a fake toss to the right, roll left. He rolls left, backward, basically backside flips his hips and whips an overall to Trent Irwin coming across the field and freaking dying. And I was like, he's going to be just fine. And for the next five games, I think, statistically speaking, Jake Browning's first five starts are the best in NFL history. And so what's really impressive to me is when a backup comes in, because it's not just jokes. Hurt one. Oh, my gosh, that's one of my best buddies. He's hurt. The other thing is, like, okay, what's the. What's the series? You know? Okay, what are we calling next play? You know what I mean? Like, there's the right now, and then there's this emotional state that you're stepping into, going like, oh, I'm the quarterback moving forward, and there's some practice squadron behind me. But, like, I'm the quarterback. And. And that's. I think, when a guy does that and does it well, like Jake Browning, I immediately go, I don't care how big you are, I don't care how fast you are, I don't care how strong you are, you can start in this league. Because that's harder than having an entire offseason of preparation with those guys. Then go in and plan.
Doug Gottlieb
Before you came on, we were talking about threat performance. We were just talking about some of the stuff, some of the products there. But I was debating if I'm playing flag football in, like, a rec league, if it would help me.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah. Do you have any kids, Bobby?
Doug Gottlieb
No, not yet.
Jordan Palmer
Okay.
Doug Gottlieb
But they. They all do. They all have boys to play, so you can talk to them about that, but I'm talking about myself. I'm being selfish. Like, you know, you can work for me.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah, absolutely. So everything that's in there is great for us, and. But it's pretty crazy. I. I'm a bit of an entrepreneur. I can see. Bobby, is your ring. Is it metal or is it rubber?
Doug Gottlieb
Well, this one's rubber. Because I do play a lot of ball. I know ball, and I play ball. So I got to keep it rubber.
Jordan Palmer
So my buddies and I created the silicone wedding ring category. We launched a company called Calo Q A L O. I was playing still at the time. Me and my high school wide receiver, Taylor Holiday, and our two partners started it, and it ended up going nuts. It's kind of why I retired. I Retired because nobody wanted me, but had a chance to go play somewhere. But I had to, like, decide between vesting my equity or not. And we ended up. By the time we sold that company, we sold just under $200 million worth of rings. And so I started that, and then we spun that into a digital marketing agency. And this is like 2009, 2010, right at the beginning of E commerce, when people started advertising on Facebook. So there was a point when I thought that we had actually spent more money than anybody on Facebook. And so we launched an agency and grew to 130 employees. And that's what I did every day. I would coach quarterbacks on the side. In fact, when I did Josh Allen, Sam Donald, Kyle Allen's draft prep, I would leave the field at 10:30 and go to work. And in that process, I had a lot of nutrition companies as clients. I ran business development, so I'd always deal with the founder, but I wasn't, like, in the ad account. And so I saw some clowns build some big companies, and I saw some great products just not be marketed the right way. And I had a lot of experience from a marketing perspective and from an entrepreneur's eyes to the founder's eyes of nutrition companies. But it was interesting. That was it for me. I was a pro athlete, so I know what my body needs and doesn't need. But now working with so many quarterbacks, and for the last five years, I sold that back the agency, back to my partners five years ago. And I've been doing this full time. I get a lot of the same questions. I'm a consultant, so consultants get a lot of the same questions. You know, my elbow hurts. The coach is a jerk. You know, the same kind of, how do we go about recruiting? Should we transfer or not? How do I pick an agent? But one of the questions I got is, what should I feed my kid? And I just didn't like my answers. I didn't feel like I knew what to tell them. I've got two close friends. You may know them, Bobby. They live in Nashville. Do you know Dr. Josh Axe who owns Ancient Nutrition?
Doug Gottlieb
I think I may have done some work with doctor with the doc when I injured myself at one point and had to ask him for a little consultation.
Jordan Palmer
So he's. I would say that him and Jordan Rubin, they own Ancient Nutrition. And before that, Jordan Rubin sold Garden of Life for like 1.2 billion. I would say that they're like the thought leaders in the space when it comes to holistic eating.
Doug Gottlieb
I don't know the billion guy. I don't know any billionaire, so I don't buy that one. I don't know. Yeah, no, yeah.
Jordan Palmer
And nature nutrition is that big too now. But I just went to them as friends like hey, what should I tell people? And I was blown away with how little I knew about puberty. Specific. I go, these are young kids, so what should kids going through puberty take? And I like, if they would have quizzed me in that first conversation, I would have got enough. And I'm like, well that doesn't make sense. People pay me a lot of money to help advise them and I don't, I'm not even, I can't even advise them on something that you could argue is more relevant than anything I'm going to tell them. And I told my now partner Clark, who lives out in the grove by you and I said, hey, it's super interesting. I've been learning a lot about this. And he called me the next day, he goes, I didn't sleep last night. I stayed up all night. There's not a single company making products for those, for that kid, for that demographic. And so we spent a lot of time researching. We hired a great formulators to come in and build products very specifically designed for athletes with developing bodies. And we are off to a very hot start. We launched three months ago, been very well received. And so we got three products. One of them is a powder. It's a daily pack. You see in my video, they're right here. And so like this is daily fuel. Mix it with water. It's even better with almond milk. Throw it in a smoothie. But you have collagen, Very specific types of collagen. 1, 5 and 10 from fermented eggshell membrane. But for kids, ligament and tendon strength and fascia repair is huge when you're going through puberty, Bobby, for you and I, same thing. Go play basketball, get store, same thing. Not all collagen's the same, but then there's also grass fed whey protein. We have probiotics in here. We have a mushroom blend of ashwagandha and lion's mane and a few others. All your daily greens and all your daily vitamins. So if as a mom you put this in your kid's backpack and they mix it with water and they drink it, you just checked every box for the day, you can feel better. And then the other two products we have are capsules. One is for energy, but it's not B12 or caffeine. It's really about muscle oxygenation and a mushroom blend that helps with focus because kids don't need a spike in Energy at 2:00 in the afternoon like you and I do. What they need is sustained focus and energy and blood oxygenation so that they recover quicker because they got to sit in class, go to recess, sit in class, get out, go to practice, come home to eat home or eat dinner, do their homework, finish their project and go to bed. And then they gotta repeat it. And. And so we have a product for that. And then the last one is for strength gains. Not even just weight gain, but strength gain. And it's actually completely botanical. And. And we have these crazy results. We partnered with this company, Rip Factor, and we see crazy results. Their studies are like, I think it's like 2.4x, like strength gains with your lower body and like 2.6 with your upper body. It's like crazy results. And we are getting those emails back now. We are hearing moms say, oh, my goodness. So we came out with three products. We've got more for boys and girls. Bobby, you and I take, I take it every day. It's, it's great. It's great stuff. It's not, you know, it's not kids gummies, but I think, you know, our sale, it's been an incredible start for our launch. But some of these emails we're getting from parents of like, I can notice a difference in my kid and their focus is different and all that. And we've got a lot more products coming out in the hopper. Very specifically, when we get into girls, girls are a lot more likely to tear a ligament when they're on their cycle. And so we've got some products coming out and hydration. And so we think this is a worthy market. We raise money very quickly from some awesome people who are very strategic. And it's been a great start for thread performance and I think it's a good time in our country to have a company that makes healthy things for kids too, because I think we're going to see a lot more people waking up to what they have been giving their kids or what their parents gave them when they were little.
Doug Gottlieb
And we'll put all the information in the notes, but threadperformance.com to find all the products. We were talking about it earlier as well, and then also the Quarterback Room podcast and I encourage people to check that out. It's quarterback talking. Talking quarterback. It's an awesome show. Love, you know, taking in your content. Just in general, Jordan, I really appreciate the Time today, man. So thank you for spending a few minutes with us.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah, thanks for having me. This was great.
Doug Gottlieb
All right, Jordan. Thanks, man.
Jordan Palmer
Are we off? We're off, Bobby.
Doug Gottlieb
Yes, sir.
Jordan Palmer
It didn't hit me. Didn't hit me until. So. And I apologize. This was set up, and like I said, I just got back last night, and then I've been off work for a week, so looking at a pile of stuff over there, and then I saw your book, Bare Bones, and I go, oh, my gosh, Bobby Bones. Very rarely did I ever miss an American Idol season. From the start. From the start.
Doug Gottlieb
That's funny.
Jordan Palmer
I was in college, and my roommate and I would watch it. It was when DirecTV first came out, and we could TiVo it.
Doug Gottlieb
That's funny.
Jordan Palmer
And I've always loved it. And I've known Luke and you know what I mean? I've got the old, like, Ryan, you know, That's.
Doug Gottlieb
That's really funny.
Jordan Palmer
It hit me for a second because. Because I just didn't think. I didn't. I didn't put you in the sports bucket. I know, but I know. I know exactly who you are. Incredible talent. Congrats on an amazing career, man.
Doug Gottlieb
Oh, thanks, man.
Bobby Bones
It's funny.
Jordan Palmer
It hit me, like, halfway through.
Doug Gottlieb
I do. I do a show with Castle as well. Matt Castle. And so. And the. Castle is the same way. We're talking about stuff. And he's like, wait. And he was over at the house, and he was like, you won Dancing with the Stars. He goes, I watch that show all the time. And I had the trophy there. And I was like, I would not expect you to watch Idol or him to watch Dancing with the Stars. But it's like, here I am, baby. I do all the things that. Well, didn't get me girls then either.
Jordan Palmer
So. Renaissance fan, you know who watches Dancing with the stars of the Ms. One is Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah, I love it.
Jordan Palmer
My wife and I been. We've. My wife and I love those. Those are the only shows we really watch. So I haven't watched the DWTS like, last couple years, but. But we went. I saw Adele perform at Dancing with the Stars. That was like, my date night. I live in Orange county, so my wife and I would go up and.
Doug Gottlieb
Be like, hey, let's go and go to the ballroom. Yeah, we go to the ballroom and.
Jordan Palmer
Super fun.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah, it's intense.
Jordan Palmer
I'm not. I'm not there to, like, meet famous people and take pictures, like. No, we watch the show. We'd let it, like, let it get down to, like, five or six.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah.
Jordan Palmer
And then we'd, like, go to a show and we'd go to dinner in LA and we'd stay in a hotel. That was, like, our fun date night. And then the Bachelor and Bachelorette's, the other one. I've been to multiple final rows ceremony. In fact, Kyle Allen, this is a great one. It was all over the Internet. So for two guys that are not famous, it was all over the Internet. So Kyle and I went and.
Doug Gottlieb
Why.
Jordan Palmer
Am I drawing a blank on his name? Chris. Chris is like, Chris. Chris Harrison's like, a big football fan. Yeah, he's a big football fan. And so he'd come down. He's been down and watched my guys work out and stuff like that. Just nerd out on football. And so I go, hey, I want to come up to the Funnel Roast. So he sets us up and he's like, hey, do you guys. I got good seats. You guys want to sit there or do you want to sit here? But if you sit here, you're going to be, like, right behind the two chairs the whole show. I was like, yeah, right there. And pal Allen had visim. And so Kyle and I in between were squirting by zine in our eyes, and we were just trying to get on camera, making it look like we were crying, reacting to what was happening. And there's a great clip of the two of us going, like, behind. Right behind the chairs. So that's awesome. Super fan, big fan of what you do, man.
Doug Gottlieb
Thanks, man. Thank you again. Thank you for the time, and hopefully I'll see you in real life sometime.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
All right, buddy. Hey, Jordan. Christmas is coming up, so, Eddie, here's what I have, and I don't care if it's four you to say it's from you to your boys, or if you say it's from me to your boys, I don't care.
Bobby Bones
Okay?
Doug Gottlieb
But I've been saving these, so I have a Jason Witten signed jersey.
Bobby Bones
Whoa.
Doug Gottlieb
Dang. Well, they're all Cowboys, because I know some of your. Your boys don't want to be Cowboys fans as much as others.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, no, no. But this will help, okay? I think eventually they will. But right now. Oh, my goodness.
Doug Gottlieb
That a Diggs jersey jersey. Check it out, Bones.
Bobby Bones
That is awesome.
Doug Gottlieb
Deion Sanders.
Bobby Bones
Oh, my goodness. Do I have to give them to.
Doug Gottlieb
My kids and Zach Martin?
Bobby Bones
That's amazing.
Doug Gottlieb
So I. You can say, wow, that they're from me, or you just say they're from you. Get you I don't. I. I'm not asking for credit.
Bobby Bones
What I love about this. This is amazing. But what I love about is you've understood now that when you gift one of my kids again, you gotta get them all or else you got three jealous ones. They're like, where's my jersey? So, dude, thank you for that. That's amazing.
Doug Gottlieb
Yes.
Bobby Bones
I'm gonna have to tell him Uncle Bobby got that.
Doug Gottlieb
Santa Bobby, you literally don't have to.
Bobby Bones
But they love. Dude, they love you. And I think it'd be so cool coming from you. Okay, well, especially the little one. He talks about you every day.
Doug Gottlieb
Then you have to wrap them, though, and say, I wrapped them too. Oh, you want me to wrap them? I saved them. You don't have to wrap them. You can never do.
Bobby Bones
No, that's great. I wrap them, put under the tree. From Bobby. From Bobby and Caitlin or just Bobby?
Doug Gottlieb
No, not from Caitlin.
Bobby Bones
That's why I asked.
Doug Gottlieb
She had nothing to do with that.
Bobby Bones
That's awesome.
Doug Gottlieb
I saved those four. I mean, I saved all the four of the cowboy wins that I have. So they can have them. I don't know who you're. You're gonna give the youngest one the Zach Martin.
Bobby Bones
Oh, probably for sure.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Because he won't know the difference.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah. He'll wanna be alignment too.
Doug Gottlieb
But in any. You do not have to say they're from me. If you change your mind, they can be from you. You and your wife.
Bobby Bones
And I have to give them to my kids. You brought the younger one.
Doug Gottlieb
What would you do with. What are you gonna wear one?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. The Deion Sanders one? Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
You know what?
Bobby Bones
I'm going to the sports bar.
Doug Gottlieb
I don't care what you do with them, but I saved them because you have four boys. Take them.
Bobby Bones
Thank you, dude.
Doug Gottlieb
You're welcome.
Bobby Bones
Thank you. Wow. Merry Christmas.
Doug Gottlieb
Merry Christmas. This story is not funny. It's not funny. It's actually terrible. Oh, great. It's not funny.
Bobby Bones
Okay, so.
Doug Gottlieb
So it's not funny. It's like, oh, my God. Why would you. Eric Mold sued for allegedly intentionally. Which, by the way, Eric Molds played for the Bills and the Texans and the Titans. He intentionally gave Bill's fans STDs. What a new dude. I'm telling you, it's not funny. What? It's like a fictional story of like. That's what the.
Bobby Bones
This has got to be a movie.
Doug Gottlieb
That's what I'm saying. It's freaking wild. A new lawsuit alleges that he intentionally passed an incurable std. Female fans. The lawsuit was filed by an unidentified woman who claims that moles did this to several other women, that he specifically targeted single mothers who are Buffalo Bills fans.
Bobby Bones
This is psychotic.
Doug Gottlieb
That's. Man.
Bobby Bones
Like, this is. I've never heard of this dude.
Doug Gottlieb
Me either. It feels fake. That's why I'm like. It's funny. It feels fake.
Bobby Bones
What position did he play?
Doug Gottlieb
He's a wide receiver, right? Yeah.
Bobby Bones
What?
Doug Gottlieb
He's being sued for negligence and intentional causes of action. Failure disclose. Da, da, da, da. But the fact that it's like, intentionally giving another fan, like, looking for fans of the team.
Bobby Bones
Well, it's like when people, you know, punch a fan, like, of another team, like, on the street and, like, knock them away. Do you see that?
Doug Gottlieb
I mean, for no reason.
Bobby Bones
For no reason. It's like, what? Like, this is. Next level is great.
Doug Gottlieb
Well, that fist to the face, you can. It won't stay forever.
Bobby Bones
This stays forever. It said I'm curable.
Doug Gottlieb
Well, it's a virus. It's herpes.
Bobby Bones
Oh, it was that one?
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. It may go into regression or into. Yeah. Or not. Maybe not.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's kind of high.
Doug Gottlieb
Thank you.
Bobby Bones
I got you.
Doug Gottlieb
Thank you.
Bobby Bones
We had no idea what you're talking about.
Doug Gottlieb
We're going to get there eventually. Thank you. But. Yes.
Bobby Bones
He knows too much about it. Oh.
Doug Gottlieb
I thought that. What. What a dirt bag, huh? Yeah, that's weird.
Bobby Bones
That's how weird.
Doug Gottlieb
Dude, that's. That's dirt. Yeah, that's. Yeah, that's a dirt bag type stuff.
Bobby Bones
Dang.
Doug Gottlieb
Okay, Eddie Cowboys. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I mean, don't disrespect the Cowboys. I guess by making them an underdog. Like, they got mad at that. They got. I guess they got upset. I mean, it doesn't make a difference to.
Doug Gottlieb
They could still win nine. They could still go nine and eight. They went out.
Bobby Bones
Went out. Mike McCarthy back. I don't even know. Like, watching him on the sideline is funny because, like, he's like. I don't even think he's, like, wanting to win because he's like, I'm not going to be here next year. I don't know what.
Doug Gottlieb
I think he's here. I think he's there next year.
Bobby Bones
You think he's here?
Doug Gottlieb
I think so. If I. If you ask me right now, I don't think they're firing him.
Bobby Bones
It's pretty crazy, dude.
Doug Gottlieb
But his contract ends okay. I think he gets another year. Yeah, I guess they wouldn't fire him. They just wouldn't renew his deal. Yeah, great point. Great point. But I think the Cowboys, if they still win every game, I'm not looking at the record. I think they can still go 9 and 8, and I don't know if they're mathematically eliminated yet.
Bobby Bones
I mean, there has to be some losses, right? Because the NFC is getting stacked.
Doug Gottlieb
Eagles clinch.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
I wanted the Commanders to lose yesterday and they did not. They almost.
Bobby Bones
They almost.
Doug Gottlieb
They almost did that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Two point conversion. Strong lead to Cowboys have three tough games. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bobby Bones
Tampa Bay. Who?
Doug Gottlieb
The Bucks, the Eagles and the Commanders. Oh, they don't play. Oh, they lost to the Bengals last week.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, we shouldn't have lost that, but we did.
Doug Gottlieb
Wait, so what's the record?
Bobby Bones
They are 6 and 8 currently.
Doug Gottlieb
So they could be 9 and 8.
Bobby Bones
I don't know, dude.
Doug Gottlieb
Is there a percentage right now with the Cowboys to get in the playoffs? Has there been a new one updated today since it's not Monday Night Football yet?
Bobby Bones
I mean, the one I saw on Sunday yesterday was 1%. Hey, I say there's a chance. Zero.
Doug Gottlieb
Okay. Cowboys percentage to playoffs. 17 hours ago, after week 15 versus Panthers, the Dallas Cowboys up to two have made. However, take the pants. It comes out week 15 still alive in the postseason chase. A lot of work to be done. One way to put it, the Cowboys. Here we go.
Bobby Bones
Oh, come on, Bones, you got a drum roll on this mic right now.
Doug Gottlieb
They're. They're. They're the 12th team and obviously they need to be one of the top seven.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that's a long ways.
Doug Gottlieb
I'm at seven right now. The commander's at nine and five, so they're gonna have to at least win nine games. And they're gonna need a lot of people to lose. They're gonna need Niners to lose. That's fine. Falcons, really. It's just the commanders, if the commanders are the seat, if they lose out.
Bobby Bones
If they don't win another game.
Doug Gottlieb
But I don't know. Did you guys. Did you guys play the Commanders coming up?
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah, so that could be. What about the first game? Fighting game.
Bobby Bones
And you guys beat them, right? Because.
Doug Gottlieb
Oh, my God. Can you imagine?
Jordan Palmer
Yes.
Bobby Bones
No. No. I mean, that'd be crazy. But, dude, there's no way. We have to win every.
Doug Gottlieb
There's. Hold on. There are three games left.
Bobby Bones
They have to have to lose one or. No, they have to win them all. They have to lose them all and we have to win them all. Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Yes. But the Seahawks and Cardinals are still kind of in the mix too.
Bobby Bones
They are Seahawks. I don't know what Geno's Cardinals are done. Yeah. Kyler was hurt yesterday and Geno was hurt yesterday.
Doug Gottlieb
Who do the Cowboys play next?
Bobby Bones
Tampa Bay.
Doug Gottlieb
Okay.
Bobby Bones
On Monday.
Doug Gottlieb
Hey, man, I'm just saying they're still in. They're still in the mix.
Bobby Bones
I don't think so. See, you just lost hope, too.
Doug Gottlieb
No, no, they're still in the mix. As long as you're in, you're in. It ain't over till it's over.
Bobby Bones
And then what are we going to do? Make the playoffs and then just kind of do what we always do.
Doug Gottlieb
It'd be really cool if we made the playoffs, though. With Cooper Rush.
Bobby Bones
It'd be amazing.
Doug Gottlieb
I think he's got, what, 10 touchdowns and three picks.
Bobby Bones
Is that right? And how many sacks? I don't know, 15 sacks.
Doug Gottlieb
But whatever that stat is, they put it up to Dak and it was not good for Dak.
Bobby Bones
It's never good for Dak.
Doug Gottlieb
Cowboys are the most loved. I know. Most valuable franchise in American sports. Cowboys at one, warriors at two over the Yankees. Wow. Cowboys. That's all Steph?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, sure.
Doug Gottlieb
Cowboys and 1, warriors at 2, Rams at 3, Yankees at 4, Knicks at 5, Patriots at 6, Giants at 7, Lakers at 8, jets at 9, Niners at 10.
Bobby Bones
How did the Rams get, like, more fans? Like, how do they do that, though? Because that's tough for them that they play at home. And like more than half of the people there for the visiting team.
Doug Gottlieb
They're better than the Chargers. Yeah, you're thinking of the Chargers for the most part.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, the Chargers are really the most part.
Doug Gottlieb
Rams have been there for a long time, but LA has so many options all the time for everything. That's. I mean, unless you're the Dodgers, it's hard to be in LA and have people there. I think their owner has something to do that too, probably because he owns a couple of teams. So I'm sure the value of it goes up. Maybe. I think just being in la. Yeah. I mean, you have. You own a professional sports team in la. That's worth a lot.
Bobby Bones
That's.
Doug Gottlieb

Bobby Bones
How is it electric?
Doug Gottlieb
Good question. Try this on for size. Two hours of Hammer dropping overtime forcing playoffs on the line. Bobby Bones
Keep up.
Jordan Palmer
It's golf. I'm going to talk about something serious for a minute.
Doug Gottlieb
Something personal.
Bobby Bones
Right now.
Doug Gottlieb
In our country, hate is at an all time high.
Everyone in this country is on the same team.
Doug Gottlieb
So act like it.
Bobby Bones
And when a team can't get it together, what do they do? They call a Timeout. We all need to call a timeout against hate. Let's think about what we say and.
Doug Gottlieb
Do and when we see hate and when we see someone doing something or.
Bobby Bones
Saying something that we know is wrong.
Doug Gottlieb
And hateful, we need to call them out.
Bobby Bones
Visit standup to all hate.org to help and join me in calling for a timeout against hate by following at what's up with hate? Or posting a blue square emoji.
Doug Gottlieb
We're back. Chief beat the Browns. Patrick Mahomes got hurt at the end. May miss a game as of right now. What? The high ankle sprain.
Bobby Bones
It looked bad. It looked pretty bad.
Doug Gottlieb
He. But like four plays before that. He felt he went down then, too.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Would it be a postseason without him limping in some.
Doug Gottlieb
That's true.
Bobby Bones
You know what I mean? Some capacity.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Bengals. The Titans. Ugly game. High scoring game. Bengals 1. Easy. Did you see that guy drop the pick 6 in the end zone?
Bobby Bones
Yes. Weren't there a couple of drops right before getting the end zone? They turned into touchbacks.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh. Not only the pick six, but the Colts.
Bobby Bones
The.
Doug Gottlieb
Jonathan Taylor did the ball flip right at the goal line.
Bobby Bones
What on earth? Guys, you know this.
Doug Gottlieb
That's crazy. They keep doing this. It's crazy. People keep doing this. I don't understand.
Bobby Bones
Like, I remember you got one more step, man. One more step.
Doug Gottlieb
Eagles wide receiver, really fast.
Bobby Bones
Smith.
Doug Gottlieb
No doubt.
Bobby Bones
Jackson.
Doug Gottlieb
Yes. Sean Jackson did it in like college and like the. And then did it in NFL as well, too. But like, what? When one person does it, you should never do it again because it's the dumbest reason.
Bobby Bones
Stubborn.
Doug Gottlieb
And John, the Taylor is like one this year, but he's like a veteran.
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Doug Gottlieb
Super smart guy knows. Wow. Commanders beat the Saints. Saints went for two, did not get it. And I was like, go for two. Then I was like, oh, it's South Carolina.
Bobby Bones
Spencer Rattler. He didn't even start.
Doug Gottlieb
He didn't. Hainer started. It was terrible. Jake Haynes, it was terrible.
Bobby Bones
So a lot of really bad quarterbacks.
Doug Gottlieb
Play less, which is why we don't want to be at quarterback. The first.
Bobby Bones
The first window of game.
Doug Gottlieb
It was so bad.
Bobby Bones
Jameis, four picks.
Doug Gottlieb
Will they pull Jamis?
Jordan Palmer
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Well, Levis sucks.
Jordan Palmer
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
It's got to be over. It's got to be done.
Doug Gottlieb
Ravens whooped up on the Giants. Cowboys beat the Panthers. I will say there was a really bad. Bryce Young faked the crap out of Micah Parsons and then fumbled it on the same play.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Not a good game.
Doug Gottlieb
Not a good game. Yeah. Jets And Jaguar is a good game. Congratulations. Yeah, that game went down to it. I remember they were like, the jets needed. Boom, touchdown right at the.
Bobby Bones
Leave it for us to be officially eliminated. For us to see, like, what this could have been. You know what I mean?
Doug Gottlieb
Devontae Adams was out of control. That sideline catch that he made, that was like, bending backward.
Bobby Bones
Pretty amazing.
Doug Gottlieb
He feels like he's 200 years old because he played with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. God dang, he's awesome.
Bobby Bones
It's 2015 all over again.
Doug Gottlieb
Love it, both of those guys. It's the Jets. They're wide receivers now. They have somebody. Garrett Wilson is awesome.
Bobby Bones
Got another touchdown. Yep. Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
We never knew how awesome he was because nobody could get him the ball. He's. He's so good. And you're finally able to see now how good he is.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Rogers actually looks like he can move around a little bit now, so.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. Too bad. Sorry, man.
Bobby Bones
Too bad that it doesn't mean anything.
Doug Gottlieb
You want Rodgers back next year?
Bobby Bones
Not really.
Doug Gottlieb
I want to blow the whole thing up, I think.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. You should start from scratch.
Doug Gottlieb
Texans beat the Dolphins to. His third pick was ugly. Second pick was bad. His third pick was terrible. Stingley took both of them.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Bills and Lions. What a freaking.
Bobby Bones
What a game.
Doug Gottlieb
That onside kick was hilarious.
Jordan Palmer
I don't get it.
Bobby Bones
Why do you take it so early?
Doug Gottlieb
Because no one was thinking he was going to take it early.
Bobby Bones
But that's the thing. You have to line up. They announce it and they line up. See what, like, the new rules to announce it?
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah. No, no, I know.
Bobby Bones
There's no, like, surprise to really get it.
Doug Gottlieb
I know I die with them.
Bobby Bones
I know you want to be like, oh, crazy. You don't know what I'm doing. But that was like, now there's no.
Doug Gottlieb
Chance because you announce it, but then they're still, like, really? That's what I was thinking. I don't believe you. They weren't expecting to take it early and, like, okay, we're going to. Onsite kick in the guy's like, I don't know. But boy, they. Yeah. Eagle flip. Steelers, Cardinals, Patriots. I mean, really, who cares? No offense. I know. I. I was not emotionally invested, really, at all. Baker had four freaking touchdowns. Yeah, he went. And the Chargers did not score at all in the second half. And then the packers and Geno left in the third quarter, right?
Bobby Bones
Yes. How sweet, though. Tyler Lockett walks out with him, too. Walks all the way down to the tunnel and, like, gives him a little hug and like, all right, I'm gonna get back to the game. Good luck.
Doug Gottlieb
I didn't see that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Doug Gottlieb
Did you really?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I would do that for you guys.
Doug Gottlieb
No, thanks, man.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I'd walk you guys the end of the tunnel.
Doug Gottlieb
That's sweet, man. Very sweet of you, man.
Bobby Bones
No problem.
Doug Gottlieb
I think that's it. Oh. Oh, yeah, you can. You can try one of those candies if you want. What is it? No, the elf. Remember? You know how they had. Yeah. From Santa Claus. Yeah, the hot chocolate. That's supposed to be so good because it's like. So is that from elf or Santa Claus? But that's. But, like, try the candy. It's like the greatest Christmas candy ever. I'll close my eyes and don't eat more.
Bobby Bones
I want. I want.
Doug Gottlieb
There you go. I see what you're doing there. It's the. It's the sourest candy they've ever been.
Bobby Bones
Oh, my God.
Jordan Palmer
Oh, no.
Bobby Bones
Really?
Doug Gottlieb
Oh, my God. Dude, I've been doing. I've been walking, reading this for, like, an hour and a half, and Eddie almost ruined it right then he goes, it's the worst. Drown myself.
Bobby Bones
The world's best tasting.
Doug Gottlieb
Oh, you said. I thought you said worse.
Bobby Bones
The world's best.
Doug Gottlieb
Thank God.
Jordan Palmer
Can y'all do that thing where you gleek?
Doug Gottlieb
You know what I'm talking about?
Bobby Bones
You can gleek.
Doug Gottlieb
I could do a fountain. Dude, I've been gleeking my whole life.
Bobby Bones
I've never been able to glee. Whoa.
Doug Gottlieb
That's a good gleek. You don't even want me to do it right now. Dude, do it all over. Eddie, don't do it in here.
Bobby Bones
You just did it.
Doug Gottlieb
It's my studio.
Bobby Bones
Let me see Reed's gleek. It shoots out this way. Oh, good. That's disgusting.
Doug Gottlieb
Yeah, that was gross. All right, clean it up. Yeah, I'm going clean it up. But that's. That's the Keep. Keep. Wow. Keep it in, though. It's good now. Yeah, yeah, Keep it in. Don't. Don't.
Bobby Bones
Just enjoy it now.
Doug Gottlieb
Keep at it. How do you even finish this thing? It's like, man, just enjoy. There's a little more inside. That'll come out. We want you to experience that, too.
Bobby Bones
Oh, there's a little extra.
Doug Gottlieb
We had convinced read an hour ago. It was like the greatest candy ever. He's like, oh, candy. We're like, yeah, hold off. Have a little piece on the air.
Bobby Bones
What does it taste like now?
Doug Gottlieb
I think I can get to it. It's okay. You got to. You got to chomp it. We're about to wrap up anyway. No, enjoy it.
Bobby Bones
All right.
Doug Gottlieb
I'm enjoying it. Hang out, man. All right. That's it. Everybody feel good?
Bobby Bones
We feel great.
Doug Gottlieb
Great. I got to clean this table.
Bobby Bones
Yes, you do.
Doug Gottlieb
Yep.
Bobby Bones
I don't even know where it went, dude. I can't believe you guys can Glee. That's cool. I've never been. I can't whistle, and I can't glee.
Doug Gottlieb
I can whistle. Okay. I can glee. I can also do my tongue like a.
Bobby Bones
Three t. You have, like, a three tacos in there. Three tacos.
Doug Gottlieb
Three tacos.
Bobby Bones
Hey, ladies love that.
Doug Gottlieb
They don't. It really does something. That's a funny joke, but literally, it does.
Bobby Bones
I don't know, dude.
Doug Gottlieb
It does nothing. Oh, here it goes. There's that middle part. He's back, man. You think it's over, and then it just hits you. And, boy, Reed was. Dude, he was ready for the best candy ever. I know.
