Well, my cat has peed on it a couple of times.

And I have cleaned it to the best of my ability. I just. It's time that it's gotta go. Look, the space where it was is a little too cramped. I've decided to put chairs there. So it's not leaving because of the cat pee. But I would like to sell it. Or honestly, they'd be doing me a favor if they come and haul it away.

My point is, if you get it out, it's not like somebody was murdered on it. I think that you should. That's probably disclosed.

Hello, Bobby Bones. My daughter had some friends over, even though they are only 13 or 14. I went down to check on them, and they were drinking. They found some previously stashed white claws, thanks to my older kid, tucked in the arms of the basement recliners. She knew I was angry, but I didn't yell. I was proud of myself. Now I need help with consequences and following through. What do you think our punishment should be, mom of a teenager? Amy, this is right up in your alley. Just because you have teenagers, so do you, Eddie. So you guys can both field this one. Amy, you go first.

Yeah, it's tricky, but, I mean, my daughter would definitely be grounded if she did that. And I don't know what the grounding would look like. Is it from her phone, certain things on her phone, going out with friends or her car for a little bit. But there would be a consequence like that. And follow through is you just gotta stick to it.

[Bobby Bones]

Is that hard? The hardest part of punishment, sticking to it?

[Amy]

Absolutely. Because then we've taken away my daughter's car multiple times, and then you always kind of need her to drive.

That's funny.

So then it becomes you can't drive unless you're doing something that's helpful for us or taking your brother somewhere, which is like, her biggest nightmare is having to tote him around. So sometimes that's punishment enough, but I think it's it. Yeah. She did that behind your back. She drank something that wasn't her. She knew she was underage, and other friends are there involved. Like, that's the trickiest thing.

So your advice to her would be.

[Amy]

You got to pick a consequence and stick to it. See it all the way through, build the timeline. But you need to be specific about the timeline ahead of time. Don't just be like, we'll see how this goes and we'll figure it out. Be like, this is two weeks. We're sticking to it. Nothing. Because sometimes we've done consequences without, like, an end in sight, and they need a goal to look forward to, to work towards. And then you. You all have that understanding. Because I think when we've left things loose, that's when we've not been able to follow through.

[Bobby Bones]

Eddie.

[Eddie]

Yeah. I mean, look. Consequence 100. This is the best one I can think of. The phone. These teenagers, dude, love the phone. So immediately when you read this, I said I would take the phone away for one month, and I'M I'm shocked that she didn't yell or get, like, lose it. I would have lost it if I would have found white claws in the couch.

[Amy]

You would have lost it. Like, yelling. I know, but then yelling, then, oh, no, but.

[Eddie]

But, guys, the yelling is. Is an act. Like, if you're just like, I'm very disappointed in you. They're like, okay, cool, I'm off the hook.

But if you go, what are you doing? I cannot believe you.

[Eddie]

They're just like, oh, Dad's really pissed. That's what you gotta do.

That's your communication tactic. I don't think everybody reacts the same to yelling. But she was being yelled at. Yeah, everybody's different.

But she. Whoever wrote in, though, she said she was proud of herself for not yelling.

[Bobby Bones]

Man, she probably wanted to.

Right, Right. For that ass.

So you would have yelled.

You, dude, you yell as loud as you can, then you go one month without your phone. And then that's the first one. Right? And you got like. Amy said, stick with the punishment. Then if you break this, if you break this ever again, if I find a white claw anywhere near you, it's a whole year without your phone.

[Amy]

What? He's not being. This isn't reasonable.

But he never is.

It's not reasonable.

No, no, no. Hey, that's up to them. The punishment is one month. Right. If you want to be stupid again and start drinking at 13 years old, then it's going to be a year without your phone.

Yeah.

But they also. I'm not saying that it makes it any better. They didn't go and track it down and hide it. They found it.

Like the older brother. So it's not that they had this plan and they figured out how to sneak it, buy it, get it, they found it. And again, not that it makes it any better, but it doesn't make it worse.

Yeah. I think this also is a great opportunity. I don't recommend the yelling. I think it's more of an opportunity. No. To sign them up, but to stay calm and then have a conversation about alcohol and the impact it can have on your life, especially at that age, and decisions that you make. Because what I want with my kids as teenagers and what I've developed, my daughter, especially now that she's 18, is she tells me so much more than I ever thought she would. And I. I think it's a testament to how her dad and I have tried to be like, hey, we. We're. You can come to us about alcohol. You can come to us about parties. You can call us at any time. Like, we. We're not going to overreact because we want to be a safe space where she doesn't feel like she has to hide certain things, and then it becomes this taboo, and then she could be in more danger than if she were to just be honest with us.

Your thoughts on that?

[Eddie]

Oh, you look straight at me. Yeah, I think that's probably smarter, but I just feel like my kids and I have four boys. They don't take anyone seriously unless they look like they're making a. Like, a difference in the way they feel. So, like, in my case, like, when I yell, they're like, oh, crap, Dad's serious. Because if I just talk normal and be like, all right, let's talk about alcohol, they're just like, this is awesome.

[Amy]

Well, I don't. I think you can be firm and serious about it. I'm not talking about this like passive parenting. I think you can still be intentional, but create a safe space to where they're not scared to talk to you about something that happened.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah. So there's not one right answer is what we've learned, and that's why I wanted you guys both to talk, because all kids are communicated to and with differently, and, you know, it's going to work for your kids. The only thing that I would say is. Is based on what Amy said is whatever you do, stick by it. Because if you start not sticking by the things that you say you're doing, regardless if it's punishment, if it's prizes, if it's just what your. The expectations are, then the expectations really aren't real, because they expect you're gonna give up anyway.

[Amy]

Yeah.

And that's just a general expectation. So whatever your expectation is for their punishment, you have to stick to it. The same way if you promise them something, you gotta give it to them, or they'll just never trust you to actually give them what you say you're giving them.

Each time she said, no, bro, I'm once and out. Maybe twice if it's way too early. But we're never hitting three.

I'd like to start by saying that is not how to respond to that. He continued. I. He dug himself, like, a little deeper with that one. And if you watched him, Morgan, don't you think he's like a good dude?

Yeah, but I do. I do not think how he has responded to all this has been great for him.

[Bobby Bones]

I think he should have had somebody help him respond because I don't think him dressing up as a Hulk Hogan costume and reposting that. I don't think that was a reason he should have had to apologize. No, where he got into trouble was him. First of all, this is my point of this whole thing. Never apologize. He didn't do anything wrong. As soon as you apologize, you're gonna give whatever little section of people already hated you so much bigger of a Runway to come in and just attack, attack. And it's going to feel like the whole world is against you when it's only a slight fraction. Like, I don't think Hulk was a good dude at all as a person, but I don't think there's anything wrong with saying literally one of the greatest wrestlers of our life. And I didn't know him as a person. And so, yeah, kind of crazy died because in my childhood, it's like Ryan Sandberg, the baseball player that died. I didn't know him. Turns out he's a pretty good dude. I didn't know him, but when he died, it made me sad because I knew the ballplayer version of him. So I thought people were mean to him in a way that wasn't fair to him. He should have never went on and apologized. You can know not to do something again on the Internet without going on and say I did wrong. Now if you do something real bad and you need to, like, have a job or something, you may have to apologize. Don't apologize.

[Amy]

Or you just want. Just move on with life genuinely, because.

[Bobby Bones]

Everybody else is going to move on on the Internet too. Just move on with life. So secondly, you don't do that. What he did. I bought a black girl gym membership.

[Amy]

And I've made anti racism videos before, so. Didn't he say that? Yeah, well, he also doubled down on it a lot further too.

[Bobby Bones]

Well, then he went on. Then he got quit social media. Hey, just don't apologize is my point. If you really did nothing wrong and you feel like you did nothing wrong, don't apologize. Don't apologize for the sake of you just apologizing so some people will then accept you. And you don't even care about those people anyway because they're never going to accept you to begin with.

What about when they say, like, oh, why are you being quiet? Like, why are you not responding?

[Bobby Bones]

They're not. They move on. Everybody moves on with life. I don't think he needs to be canceled. But now after he said that stuff, he needs to take a whole break for a second.

Like when I. Yeah, he said he's out. He said he's out for a little bit, but nobody's ever fully out.

No. He has quit social media entirely.

He'll be back. It's Zach Brown's birthday. How old do you think he is? Oh, it's kind of ageless to me. Like, I would guess 70 and also 30.

Oh, I'm not 70.

No, but I'm just saying I don't.

I don't know how old he is. I mean, I'm looking at it here, but because he's got all the tattoos and like, sometimes he gets in super, like, thin shape, but then he gets really buff shape and like, he's got good hair. But then he's been around.

Like, you can convince me of anything. His age.

I've sat with Zach a bunch and so I have some clips of some stuff that I've learned about Zach. And he takes extreme pride in his songwriting and he's a very perfectionist. Very much perfectionist. And here he is going after some people for writing lazy songs.

But I hear songs on the radio all the time and I'm like, they're just making that rhyme. Like, if you care about every line of the song. If a song is your baby, it's like, to me, songwriting is like the last, like, real American form of poetry. So for me, the chase of a song is like, I never love a song more than right when we finish writing it, because you kind of forget what you did. You listen back to it, and you're like, oh, yeah, there it is. But I have a really good radar with, if that line's not good enough, the song's not done yet.

Next up, he got to start playing at small bars with no one watching. He was performing Chicken Fried for years before he ever recorded it.

Like, I was playing Chicken Fried in bars for years before we put it on an album. But I knew after playing that in front of 300 people a night on a Wednesday in a sports bar that it would work. I could tell by the reaction of what the people were doing. So they were the litmus test of, like, what's working and what's not. So six nights a week for 10 years, bro, just grinding my ass off, sleeping against the window of a truck. You know, hired a dude to drive me and pull my covered trailer around with our PA system and. And doing that. So I didn't know how other people did it. I didn't know there were rules or how it works or anything like that.

[Bobby Bones]

For me, it's one of the activities when I'm doing that, when I'm diving down, there's no chatter. Chatter doesn't exist. So you're. You're only in that moment, and it's so primal, and you're so. Your breath, you're challenging the ocean, you're challenging the fish, you're challenging the weather. It's like. It's this whole thing.

And then she shouldn't get to keep the dog simply because she wouldn't sign the marital Indian NDA. And then. Why do you want someone to sign an NDA? What do you have to hide? You know, Happy birthday, Zach. And then she has all these legal fees.

Yeah. He gets one hour of exercise a day because Bruce Springsteen told him to.

Even Springsteen. I remember the time I talked to him, I was like, tell me something that's the most important thing that you can tell me for my career.

And his reply was, you need to sweat every day for an hour. I don't care what you do. Just go. Go find a. Find a place. Walk, run, workout, whatever it is. Sweat for an hour a day. And after he told me that, I was like, all right, he's a boss. I'm gonna do that.

Anything else? It's just because he called him Springsteen, too. Like, out of nowhere. Yeah. He's like, yeah, I was having dinner last night with Trump and Obama, and we were just. Just like. Like, just says. It just moves on. Number one thing, we learned about Zach Brown from me interviewing him. He sleeps with a pee bottle by his bed.

I use a pee bottle through the night because I got used to doing that when I'm touring. Because you're riding. You know, we play three or four shows in a row, so I'm sleeping on my bus. The bus is going down the road. During that day, for my voice, I drank two gallons of water. So through the night, I'm gonna pee, like, two or three times. So I have to get my pee bottle right by the bed.

[Bobby Bones]

So you don't have to get.

And you pee in it.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah.

If you get up on a moving bus and I have an overactive brain, anyway, you get up, you stub your toe, you bash your head in the wall. You're awake, and then it throws you off. So for people that have to do that, they make nice big ones with lids. So it's not. Doesn't stink, it doesn't spill. It's like, you know the deal.

Okay, interesting. I mean, if that's what it's like sharing a bed with him, imagine what's in the stuff that can't be talked about because he's outing himself about that. Can you imagine the first time, you know, you're like, you know, and he just like rolls over with his pee bottle.

But you know, I don't even know her. I've. Anytime I've interviewed Zach, wherever, like he's always been really nice. Like, I don't know. And I like Kendra. I'm happy for their engagement. I guess I just went down that rabbit hole with the ex wife and it seems. I feel bad for her, but who knows the truth.

It's time for the good News with Bobby Dalton De Micelli, an eight year old Arizona Diamondback superfan, had an awesome night on Chase Field after he got to meet and spend time with some players. It was organized by the team and the staff at KPNX 12 News in Phoenix and they talked about how he had multiple procedures for a heart defect. And I do have some audio here. He got to meet his favorite player, who's Corbin Carroll. The team heard about him when the TikTok went viral and so here you go. Dalton's had multiple surgeries, was born with a congenital heart defect, has had three open heart surgeries. Again, he's eight years old. Wow, man, imagine your kid going through all of that. So I waited a long time, and I had her really late in life. I would probably consider having kids earlier, but then I wouldn't have her, so I can't change it. You know, I would also change her dad, but I can't change that either because she's here because of him.

Yeah. I don't know if it's a real pie or a pizza. I assume it's a pizza. But they laced it with THC oil. Yeah. Famous Yeti's Pizza in Stone, Wisconsin was forced to apologize after 85 customers experienced symptoms consistent with THC intoxication after eating 85.

So that means that they made a.

Whole batch or multiple. I'm gonna assume it's pizzas.

Customers ranging from 1 to 91 years old.

Oh, the one. Yeah, that's where the problem. Because I'm like, well, you know, improved.

How about the 91 year old? Like just chill one. It all happened in late October of last year, but this is just now becoming a story. The CDC put it out and they have issued a Facebook post and apologized. Yeah, that's tough. Also, did someone not realize their THC oil was gone? Like I would think that would be valuable.

Or did they do it on purpose?

[Bobby Bones]

Or did they do it? Oh, I don't think they did on purpose.

[Eddie]

No. That's good stuff. Why would you waste that to people who don't.

I was thinking that too. Like that would be a huge waste.

Yeah. Like what kind of bottle is it in? Because I'm sure the bottle doesn't look like the olive oil or whatever they were trying to put on there.

Yeah, I feel like it'd be like a smiley face emoji, but the eyes are slant. Like, hey, Yeah. I feel like somebody's upset that their THC oil got used. And then they were like, oh, no. We can't be lawless around this.

No, I know, but there's got to be some. That something like there's got to be like, a local person. Like, this will set a good precedent. Like somebody local they can go to to get paid or they start finding the city version of it more. But that's kind of funny that you really can't pull one over and give them a ticket.
