Hey, I'm Nora Jones, and I love playing music with people so much that my podcast called Playing along is back. I sit down with musicians from all musical styles to play songs together in an intimate setting. Over the past two seasons, I've had special guests like Dave Grohl, Levy, Rufus Wainwright, Mavis Staples. Really too many to name. And there's still so much more to come in this new season. Listen to Norah Jones is playing along on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Bobby Bones
Nobody had to tell your grandparents not to drive while using their typewriters. Why should it be any different for us kids and our cell phones? Distracted driving was the cause of more.
Eddie
Than 3,000 deaths in 2022.
Bobby Bones
Come on, we're smarter than this. Let's put down the phones and focus on the roads. Drive safe, everybody. Don't drive Dist A message brought to you by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Project Yellow Light and the Ad Council. I'm Jonathan Goldstein, and on the new season of Heavyweight. And so I pointed the gun at.
Eddie
Him and said, this isn't a joke.
Bobby Bones
A man who robbed a bank when he was 14 years old and a centenarian rediscovers a love lost 80 years ago.
Amy Brown
How can a 101-year-old woman fall in love again?
Bobby Bones
Listen to Heavyweight on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Bobby Bones. Yeah, I had to Walk down the hall to go to the bathroom a minute ago. And by walk, I have my single peg leg crutch. And you put your knee in it. And so my foot. And I got the crutch. And, like, everybody's staring at me, but they're not staring at me. But it feels like it. I just want to yell, stop looking at me. I can do stuff.
Eddie
Right.
Bobby Bones
But really, they're just like, oh, I wonder what's up with Bobby. Why is he on a crutch?
Eddie
Like, you never seen a guy on a crutch before?
Bobby Bones
You never seen somebody disabled? That's what I want to get.
Eddie
Must be hard, man.
Bobby Bones
And then I can't. I can't pee standing up because I lose my balance. And so I had to pee sitting down, but both stalls were closed. Like, people were in them when I got there. And then I walk in. Scuba finally leaves. Like, after, like, half an hour, I know he's doing it there. And then it was the handicap stall. And I'm like, leave the handicap stall open.
Eddie
Right?
Bobby Bones
I felt awkward. I'm like, I never been. I've never been, I guess, accosted or confronted by somebody who is handicapped while using the handicapped stall. He walks on. I'm right there on him, just waiting. And it was a handicap stall, so I get it. Oh, man. Leave the handicap stall open. I'm sorry, dude. No, it's all right. My foot is kind of slightly down at an angle. Getting that real.
Eddie
Oh, the rough.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I gotta keep it above my head.
Amy Brown
Yeah, but you haven't been for a long time. What do you mean it's not up?
Eddie
That's what he's saying.
Amy Brown
I know, that's what I mean. We gotta get that.
Bobby Bones
I've got it on a piano bench underneath the table.
Amy Brown
Yeah, but it's not high enough.
Bobby Bones
But I can't do it higher unless I put it on the table.
Amy Brown
Yeah, but can you lean back?
Bobby Bones
That's what I'm saying. I could, but. No.
Eddie
Lean back and put on the table. No, like you're lounging.
Bobby Bones
It's fine. I'm fine. We never seen a handicapped person before.
Eddie
Okay, man, we're just trying to help.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that's what's up. So there's that. Amy, let's talk about a couple of viral things. Who do you think's gone viral? Less of everybody in the room.
Eddie
Less.
Bobby Bones
The least amount of virility.
Eddie
Lunchbox.
Bobby Bones
Oh, Eddie.
And who do you think wants it the most?
Eddie
Lunchbox.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Just asking. Yeah.
Are you serious? Eddie has never gone viral.
Eddie
I have. I've had one of mine in the millions, and it was Lunchbox yelling at.
Bobby Bones
Abby, so it was me.
But still, just because you're in the video recorded, that doesn't mean your video went viral. He recorded you yelling at Abby. You didn't have the intention of that being online. You just got caught.
Eddie
And it was in my. On my account, so I get the credit.
Bobby Bones
Your video went viral.
You go viral. Manning went viral in the one video you recorded of him. You didn't go viral.
Right? His. My video went viral, not me.
Yeah, but that's your video, so that counts.
Eddie
Like, dude, it's you.
Bobby Bones
So you're taking away your viral video, so that doesn't count.
Then if you were on Ellen, if they were going to have you on Ellen, right? They are not going to have the person that filmed it. They're going to have the person that's in the video just saying they're not worried about who put it on the account.
Morgan
Huh?
Bobby Bones
It doesn't matter if a video, it.
Was gone viral the least.
Eddie
Lunchbox.
Bobby Bones
Okay, I guess Amy just went viral again.
Eddie
What?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
For what?
Amy Brown
Um, what podcast clip we put up?
Bobby Bones
Why are you angry at her? She didn't even say what it was yet. It could have been her celebrating you and how good of a person.
I doubt it. She never does that.
Should she do it more?
Yeah, she put more videos of me up.
Amy Brown
Okay. It's on our Feeling Things podcast accounts and on TikTok, it has 2.2 million. And on Instagram, it has 1.4 million.
Bobby Bones
Whoa.
Eddie
That's huge.
Bobby Bones
Nice job. We love to see it.
Eddie
So what were you guys talking about?
Amy Brown
And it's Helvig Cussing. Well, Kat's a therapist. She was talking about some research that showed that cussing tends to mean someone is willing to be more authentic with who they are. So you can trust someone who.
Bobby Bones
What does it say about me?
Amy Brown
But then she also said, this isn't.
Bobby Bones
Like, hey, what the. What the f?
Amy Brown
No, but it also doesn't. It's not a blanket statement. It makes me curse.
Bobby Bones
F you. That means I don't not cuss because I don't like cussing. I do it so I don't slip up and cuss in a place that I don't want to cuss. And secondly, I didn't want to write jokes or books and insert curse words as a crutch. So that was all just not about me as a person. I don't think there's any more or less integrity with cursing or Honesty. I think professionally, I didn't feel like it was in my best interest talking about that in your little stupid effing podcast.
Amy Brown
No, but at the very end of the clip, she says, just because you don't cuss it, it doesn't mean you're a liar.
Bobby Bones
What if I say F? Yeah, that count?
Amy Brown
Yeah, well, that's the thing, like on TikTok, where I guess we're reaching all these people that, like, don't. But all the comments, like, there's 2,630 comments, and most of them are F. Yeah.
Eddie
Oh, that's funny.
Amy Brown
Or like, oh, I effing knew this, like, every other. So we're like, oh. And then Kat, she's a therapist. That's her profession. And so she doesn't really have the desire to go viral because it freaks her out. Because she's like, oh, what if people take something the wrong way? And we hadn't sourced her research, like, where she got it from? So she's like texting me, she's like, can you add this source to the caption? Because I need them to know legit. So to source it. She said it came from. Frankly, we do give a damn. The relationship between.
Bobby Bones
Another bad word.
Amy Brown
The relationship between profanity and honesty. And that was where the research came from. So she just. Because some people were like, what? What does this mean? Stupid? And she's like, wait, wait, wait.
Bobby Bones
No, no, you can't. Here's the rule about going viral. Never look at the comments once something goes viral, because all that's happening is the platform you're on. It then becomes a pedestal that is lifted. And the higher your pedestal is lifted, the more people see it, the more people there are, the more dumb people there are. So it's just a numbers game. If something goes viral, never look in the comments. Like, right now, I'm going a bit viral myself. I got even just this morning. New York Post did a story. E did a story. People magazine did a story on me. And I refused to get into the comments because I know that the higher that the pedestal rises, the more people see it. The more people that see it, the more dumb people there are. Just in that people. I think there's a percentage of dumb people regardless. But if you have a. If you have 50 people looking, probably got three dumb people. If you have 10 million people looking, then you've got, you know, 30,000 dumb people. And they all want to, like, have something to say. So it's not that the more viral you get, the more dumb people There are, like, percentage wise, it's just the more people, the more people, the more dumb people. So that's what's up. So I've not looked at any comments about. Because I posted a video yesterday, and I was like, hey. Kind of got my feelings hurt. And it's mostly because I love Tom Bergeron and still love Tom Bergeron. And I watched the interview he did where he was like, oh, Bobby winning. And I was like, that hurt my feelings a little bit. And I was like, man, I don't understand what I was supposed to do when I was on Dancing with the Stars. Because I wasn't, like, somebody who cheated or manipulated the rules or. Or got in trouble. Like, I literally just showed up, wasn't that good, got a lot better won and the end. And, like, it was a real joyous time for me. But every year I just get attacked. Merciful, merciful, mercilessly, whatever the word is. It's constant, and so it doesn't bother. You have to have thick skin to do this job. And I have very thick skin. And. But when Tom Bergeron did, I was like, dang, I like Tom. That sucks. And so I posted a video. I was like, hey, my feelings are hurt. Wham. Whammy. And then I'm gonna send the Maribel trophy back. Cause I don't like looking at it. It made me feel good. And so, yeah, that's blown up. And it's kind of funny that it's blown up.
Amy Brown
So you, like, legit? For real? For real. Mailed it back.
Bobby Bones
It's gone. I want it to be dramatic. It's how to be dramatic.
Amy Brown
Well, what are you gonna do if they send it back, then?
Bobby Bones
Keep it.
Eddie
Oh, so they. Oh, okay. So they send it back. You gotta keep it.
Amy Brown
That's what I'm thinking.
Bobby Bones
Have you not heard the saying, if you love something, set it free, and if it comes back, then it's yours?
I've heard it, but that's weird. No, you don't do that. You don't just let your dog out the front door. Usually they don't come back.
Amy Brown
Yeah, because I'm. I'm. I'm like, damn, Ella comes back. Why do you. I. I didn't think you should send it back. Like, you deserve you. You earned that. So, like, why send it back?
Bobby Bones
It just doesn't feel good when you see it. What do you. It doesn't feel good. So I was like, yeah, I'm gonna send it back.
Yeah, so you just put it in the box.
I have it. Yeah, I Have the actual box they gave it to me in. Like, it fits perfectly. Oh. And so I. Yeah, they've really, like, soured that for me. But I never said anything bad in the video about anybody. I don't know if you guys saw the video.
Amy Brown
I did. You didn't say anything bad?
Bobby Bones
Nothing. Love my.
Amy Brown
Did you say some people close to you have taken shots?
Bobby Bones
And I was like, that was you, Amy? Yep. It was definitely.
Eddie
You know who you are.
Bobby Bones
Yep. You know, what did I do? And if you're feeling guilty about it right now, it's. You say you're close to me from the show. People I knew from this show.
Amy Brown
I thought you.
Eddie
I knew.
Amy Brown
You said people close to you. No, I didn't know who, but you said people close to you.
Bobby Bones
Somebody's feeling awfully good.
Amy Brown
No, I wanted to know because I. I don't know. Just. I was like, I hope I haven't said anything.
Bobby Bones
My point is, is that don't look at comments if something starts to blow up, because you're just going to have people like. And. And I. I want to fight people when I get into comments because it's not real and I don't mind confrontation in any aspect of life. I don't search for it. But I'm also on the old Enneagram and eight Challenger.
Morgan
So I loved.
Bobby Bones
I love mixing it up. And so.
Amy Brown
So the eight in you mailed the trophy back.
Bobby Bones
I think the titty baby in me mailed the trophy back, but the eight in me is like, ready to challenge anybody.
Amy Brown
What number is that?
Bobby Bones
I don't understand.
Eddie
I never heard of that one.
Amy Brown
No, that's eleven titty baby.
Bobby Bones
It really isn't that dramatic of a thing.
Amy Brown
I think it is.
Bobby Bones
I don't think it is. To me, it's not that dramatic.
Amy Brown
Oh, I was wondering if you talked to your therapist about it.
Bobby Bones
No. Because anytime. It's not that dramatic. What? Again, I'm gonna say a couple things. One, I've been on pain medicine. Two, I've been holed up in my house. I'm sure that's affected seasonal depression's hit. Because now the weather's wrong. That's the truth.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
It's like every year I just. For like two months, regardless of who's on that show. That is like the bad dancer. They don't really take it out on them as much as they always come back and take it out on me. So I open my feed and it's just constantly, every year about this time, you know, who sucked? Bobby, you know, sucked Bob you know, didn't deserve to win. And I'm like, bro, I ain't do nothing.
Amy Brown
Your analogy of, like, it's like the 9th grade dancers just picking on the 6th grader and shoving me in a.
Bobby Bones
Locker over and over again.
Amy Brown
That was a good way to put it because. Yeah. You're not traditionally one of them.
Bobby Bones
No, definitely not. In many ways, I'm not from la. I'm not an actor. I'm not traditionally. I live in the south, didn't know how to dance. But also, there was an advantage that I had of all of our listeners. And I don't think people get that. People are, like, the people's champion. No, we have a very dedicated group of people that relate to us and roll with us, and that's what it was. So. But also, I wasn't. I watched all the videos back. I'm doing a series on my YouTube page, which is at Bobby Bones Channel. I wasn't as bad as I thought I was because I never watched them back. And so, yeah, I sent it back. That's it. I like how it made me feel. And what does she say? If it doesn't make you feel good, throw it out. I don't know the person on Netflix. It was like arranging stuff.
Amy Brown
Oh, feng shui.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, Marie Kondo. Yeah, Marie Kondo.
Amy Brown
If it doesn't spark joy, get rid of it. Okay, well, I don't think she meant something that, like, you worked really hard for that you earned the desire.
Bobby Bones
I still have that in my heart. And I don't think that anything happened where I feel lesser. I won that freaking show. And I won by the biggest margin between first and second place in the history of the show. And that's awesome. But, you know, it's a physical thing. And, you know, my contribution was, I'm gonna get this out of my house, put it in a box, mail it back. Dude, I don't even know where I sent it. I just found an address online and sent it to abc. If somebody's gonna open a box in some room and be like, what the crap secretary?
Eddie
Like, what is this?
Amy Brown
So I have a difficult question.
Bobby Bones
All right, bring it.
Go for it. I know what you're gonna ask.
Amy Brown
Yeah, yeah. Well, you mentioned physical, and you got a mirrorball tattoo.
Bobby Bones
That's. I won the show. Okay.
Amy Brown
I didn't know.
Bobby Bones
I have no problem with that.
Amy Brown
You're not gonna turn it into, like, a teddy bear?
Bobby Bones
No, I won the show. Okay.
Amy Brown
Well, I don't know. He shipped them.
Bobby Bones
I'm not ashamed of losing the Show. There's nothing about me that is. I love it.
You didn't lose, so you don't have to be ashamed.
Well, I'm not ashamed of any part. I'm not ashamed of winning.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I'm not ashamed of anything. It was awesome.
Amy Brown
I guess you don't see it all the time.
Bobby Bones
I even. No, it's not even that. If I had it on my face, I wouldn't get rid of it. Well, I probably wouldn't have got it on my living car.
Amy Brown
I love when you see the trophy. It doesn't make you feel good.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it just sits, and it's like a. It's a trophy. And trophies are supposed to, like, remind you of, like, something good. Okay, that doesn't.
Amy Brown
Okay.
Bobby Bones
And so it did. It doesn't anymore. Okay.
Eddie
So can change it into Moneyball. You really had to.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that's true.
I'm not changing it. It's a part of my life. What, like, on the pool table now, selling drugs?
Amy Brown
Or you could turn it into.
Bobby Bones
I. But I. After I posted the video, because I rarely watch anything back before I post it, which sometimes is good. Sometimes it's bad. I went and watched it back, and I was like, oh, I don't hate what I said. I don't think in any way I came off as aggressive or mean or that that show did anything I said. I loved it. It's just since then, there's been some of the joy that's been taken away because every time I see anything about it, it's people just bashing me, and I'm like, I don't like that. Like, I did nothing. I didn't fight to be on the show. I didn't try to be on the show. They asked me to be on the show. They encouraged me heavily to be on the show because I was on American Idol at the time, and I did it, and I loved the freaking experience. It was awesome, and the people were awesome. And Tom Bergeron was my favorite person on the whole show. That's why it hurt, because he was like, the guy that was like, my guy. And so when he's out going, ooh. And then I saw him try to, like, pivot out, and he was like, Well, I was saying the judge. No, he didn't say that. But it doesn't matter. I still love Tom Bergeron. I think he's a freaking goat. And so I have nothing bad to say about anybody or anything. I just don't like how it made me feel. So I sent it back. I had a message it wasn't that anybody did anything wrong. It was that my feelings were hurt. That was it. So that's what's up.
Amy Brown
I hope they send it back.
Bobby Bones
I don't know who's going to get it. And I think about that now. I laugh out loud. Someone just getting a box and going, let's okay another box.
Eddie
You don't see that every day.
Bobby Bones
We have a couple voicemails about it. And I don't want to spend a lot of time on this because I wasn't going to address it at all, but I feel like on this show I must, because these are our people. Give me one, Ray.
Amy Brown
I was calling to see if you regret your mirrorball trophy tattoo, or at least the word mirror ball. I saw your post on Instagram today that you returned the mirror ball. I also only watched Dancing with the Stars the one season that you were on it and voted religiously for you. So I hate that you actually had to return it. So just wondering if you regret the tattoo now. Thanks.
Bobby Bones
Obviously. No, we just talked about that. Also, I didn't have to return it. If they would have said, you have to return it, I'd have been pissed and wouldn't have returned it. I'd have taken a hammer to it just to prove a point. No, it's great. I feel good about everything. My feelings were just hurt and that doesn't spark joy. And like, my friend Marie Kondo, what's her name, says, get rid of crap that makes you feel weird about dancing. She said that famous quote from her.
Morgan
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Let me do one more.
Amy Brown
Number two, I just saw the Instagram post about Dancing with the Stars and I'm so mad. You won that fair and square. I hope you wiped your with that trophy before you turn it back. And when they come crawling back wanting to suck up and be on your show because you've got 10 times the fans that they could ever have, you better say no.
Bobby Bones
Nah, they're not gonna suck up. Also, I don't dislike anyone. I don't dislike Tom Bergeron. I love Tom Bergeron. It just hurt my feelings. Sometimes people you like hurt your feelings. And I was like, I'm going to express how I feel. And I did. And so I appreciate everybody, like, but I don't look at the comments. Mike D. Got a text yesterday from Jodi Messina. She was like, I was so upset. I appreciate that. My feelings were hurt.
Eddie
She let him know I love him.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, my feelings were hurt, but not because of what was said, but because of who said it. But that's it. But I'm good. Like, I. There's nothing about me now that is like, I'm gonna. I gotta score a settle. My score has been settled for a long time. But it is weird. Every year about this time, it's Bash bobby season on TikTok, and it's not bash bobby season on TikTok or Instagram for anything that I said because that I would understand. I say a lot of stuff, and people can get irritated. They can have different opinions, but I freaking won a show and didn't cheat. That's a weird thing to be hated for because you did well. That's the weirdest thing to be hated for. And you did it so well that you won by more than anybody in the history of the show has ever won. That's a weird thing to be hated for. And then also, I've been on pain pills for a few days, so there's.
Morgan
That.
Bobby Bones
A lot of factors at play here. Yeah, that's what's up. You guys have anything else on that? There you go.
Amy Brown
No, other than I do like the quote. If it comes back to you, you keep it.
Bobby Bones
I will keep it. If it comes back.
Eddie
I like the better quote. Wipe your with it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that was pretty good.
If I were. If I were angry also, can you imagine someone getting it? Let's play this. That.
Morgan
Play that.
Amy Brown
No, I can't.
Bobby Bones
They're like, okay, open the box. What is this? Like, it's like a furry gold box. They're like, what, a mirror ball? What the heck? I think I saw something about this at people. Is this that? Oh, it is. Bobby Bones and Shawna mirror. Why is there poop on it?
Eddie
Oh, he wiped his. Yep, he did it.
Bobby Bones
No. Part of me is angry. A little part of me had hurt feelings, and that's okay. So. But I appreciate everybody. Okay, how about. I feel like I got a lot of stuff to talk about. Let's go around them. Everything's off. My mic fell. My foot's on. Imagine if I'm leaning back.
Eddie
That would have been good.
Bobby Bones
That have been terrible.
Eddie
Yeah. That would hit the ground.
Bobby Bones
Just let me be people. I know I'm not like you. Today we watch another couple. Yeah. Episodes of that show called All Their Fault. Yeah, we talk about that. Yeah. Yeah. All right, Amy.
Amy Brown
So speaking of watching things I've been watching on Hulu, the scripted out version of the Murdoch family.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah. It's always. It's always a chance. Like a scripted. It's a tough thing to watch because it could be done so corny Yeah.
Amy Brown
I think they've done a really good job with it because one of you watch. I watched the documentary.
Bobby Bones
The.
Amy Brown
It's called.
Eddie
There's one with Patricia Arquette that I started watching is really good.
Amy Brown
Yes, that's the one I'm watching.
Eddie
That's good.
Amy Brown
Murdoch. Death in the Family.
Eddie
And it's Murdoch.
Amy Brown
Murdoch, yes. Sorry, it's spelled Murdoch, but, yeah, it's Murdoc. And then his name is spelled like Alex, but it's Alec. Like, I don't know, weird. But Death in the Family, that's the drama series on Hulu. I recommend it. Even if you've watched the documentaries on it. It's. It gives you a little bit more. And obviously they take some of their own things, like there's creative liberty to some stuff just because they're trying to be entertaining. So you have to keep that in mind. But Buster Murdoch is the kid that is still alive. So the dad is in jail for murdering the mom and the other son. Their other son, Buster. I was reading an article on People.com this morning that he literally still thinks his dad is innocent. Like, he does not think his dad shot his mom and brother.
Bobby Bones
Can I do counterpoint? Sure. Sometimes we find out that because of what the media has led us to think, we were wrong. I don't know. I don't think I'm wrong. Also, I gotta admit, I never really followed the case except for you guys talking about it like it was one that started. And it's not that I didn't care. It was just so beyond me. I didn't feel like getting super invested. But there are times now and I'm starting to second guess everything just a little more.
Amy Brown
Okay, true.
Bobby Bones
And go, man. There have been some real instances of me being wrong. Like, I don't think Michael Jackson molested young boys.
Amy Brown
Okay.
Bobby Bones
I don't.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I just. I don't. And I did for a long time because of how he was portrayed. I think he was weird. And I think he was weird because of how he was raised. I don't think he molested young boys.
Amy Brown
Okay.
Bobby Bones
And I think I was just like, yeah, for sure he did it. But that's just an example. And there's like four or five of those. And he might have and probably did or maybe didn't.
Amy Brown
Well, I mean, because to your point, this dad's no saint. Like, he's horrible dad, like, was a horrible lawyer.
Bobby Bones
I mean, stole from the law firm.
Amy Brown
Yes, that's what I mean.
Bobby Bones
I've had to lay back on my. No no, no.
Eddie
Do you want in a store?
Bobby Bones
Is that cool with you? Can I get a microphone? You want to go, like, on the stage in the chair to hold that?
Eddie
Wouldn't do that.
Bobby Bones
I'll just sit back and chill.
Eddie
Are you cool with the desk, though? Because we can get a stool as high.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah, that'd be. Well, let's try that. That's cool. Sorry, if I don't do this, I have to go home, and I got a bunch of work to finish up today.
Amy Brown
Yeah, you need to elevate. So I guess my thing is. Yeah, you're right. Like, just because he was a really crappy person doesn't mean he murdered them. Yeah, but then this is a part of the story I totally forgot about from the documentary. It's like, I totally forgot that he was so concerned that his son Buster wasn't going to get any money. Like, they'd be. He'd have nothing. That he set up with a former client of his to shoot him while he was on the side of the road changing a tire. But the point is, he was supposed to kill him, but then he didn't die. He got shot in the head and didn't die. So his son Buster didn't get the $10 million life insurance payout, and then.
Bobby Bones
He still got shot.
Amy Brown
Yeah. And then the guy that crazy and the guy that he hired to shoot him also now in jail, I'd be.
Eddie
Like, so what's the story? Because I remember the boat accident. I remember all that. But what's the story of. Of the dad killing mom and son?
Amy Brown
Okay, so I think that. I mean, the dad was on. Speaking of pain pills, the dad was on so many.
Bobby Bones
He sent his mariball back.
Amy Brown
He was on so many pain pills, and then he was drinking with it as well. Obviously, his life. His life was in shambles anyways. Like, he was a dirty businessman to begin with. And then his son. It's almost like his son getting in the boating accident just was like the straw that broke the camel's back, because everything just started kind of coming to light.
Bobby Bones
That's exactly what happened, according to Ray, because Ray was all in on this. But I think they were doing discovery during that trial, and he was like, I'm gonna get found out. So he had to kill his son. So that way they would stop that trial. Like, it would go away. Like, boom, that's over. And then boom.
Is the show good?
Amy Brown
The show is good.
Eddie
Show's good.
Bobby Bones
Scripted.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yes. Again, always risky to make a scripted.
Eddie
Show, but there are different ones. And the one with Patricia Arquette is really good.
Amy Brown
Okay. And that's not this one with Patricia Arquette. It is. It's the one with Patricia Arquette and the guy that was in. What's that weird movie we just watched on Netflix about the end?
Bobby Bones
House of Dynamite.
Amy Brown
House of Dynamite.
Bobby Bones
Not weird. Great. Okay, I'll fight to the death.
Amy Brown
Sure.
Bobby Bones
That's the hill I'm gonna die on.
Amy Brown
I don't know his name, but there's a guy on House of Dynamite and I was like, why does this guy look familiar? Why does this guy. He's playing Alec Murdoch.
Bobby Bones
Oh, the dad or Murdoch.
Amy Brown
Yeah, the dad. He plays the dad. But. But his hair is so, like, red. Red and white. Like orange and yellow. Like, it doesn't. He's brown in the House of Dynamite. So anyway, I realized, like, oh, there's a tie in there. But yes, I recommend the show. And then also, just curious, what's going on with Buster?
Bobby Bones
And also, the housekeeper is coming out with a book.
Amy Brown
She is?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I don't know when it's gonna be released, but I just saw on the news that. Wait, she said, the moment.
I want to start cursing, I'm cool now. She didn't want to go viral.
Amy Brown
She didn't die.
Bobby Bones
Oh, one of the old housekeepers did.
Amy Brown
This is the new housekeeper. Okay. Because that's another thing. She died too, during all of this house.
Bobby Bones
Oh, there's a lot of shady stuff that happened. My only point is. And listen, he could be guilty of sin. My only point is I'm not always just gonna believe it because the media makes me believe it.
Well, he went to trial and a jury convicted him.
Amy Brown
So I would say, yeah, yeah, yeah, like that part. I think it's likely that he did it. But you're right, because in the documentary, you even see a moment where a journalist was trying to pin the murder of this Scott Peterson, homosexual kid in the.
Bobby Bones
You said homosexual. Weird. You said it like somebody from Designing Women back in the 90s.
Amy Brown
I was going to say gay guy, but then I felt like, are you a homosexual?
Bobby Bones
Okay, maybe they referenced it like Daisy Carter saying homosexual. Yeah.
Amy Brown
So they were trying to pin that on. That the Murdaughs were part of a cover up for how this kid died. And I don't know that that was the case, but you start to believe that just because they're such a shady.
Bobby Bones
Family that they were like, there's now. And Scott Peterson was found guilty, but there is now, like, real stuff that makes you think he didn't do it.
Amy Brown
I don't know how.
Bobby Bones
Hey, you're upon by the media or.
You'Re upon by the media?
I'm not upon, cuz I don't believe anything. He's guilty. He's been found guilty. He's guilty. But I fully just saw him on the magazine was like, that dude for sure is guilty. Yeah, there's been some new stuff. There's been, like, new, like, docu stuff that's come out. I think it was him. A lot of people.
Eddie
He's the one that went fishing.
Bobby Bones
Yep.
Eddie
And then they found her body in the lake.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Can I read? Mike? I'm gonna read this. It's kind of hard to read this. Leaning back. The Los Angeles Innocence Project, and they don't get involved with things that they don't feel passionately about. We know this from a few different cases have petitioned in April of 2025 presenting new evidence, and they argued that Peterson's 2004 conviction was based on circumstantial evidence that should be overturned. The petition claims that new evidence suggests Laci Peterson was still alive after Scott Peterson left home on the day she disappeared, and that a series of burglaries were linked to her death. The petition also accuses the original investigation of having flaws and withholding evidence. And if they find that's the case, there was evidence withheld so they could, for whatever political reason, get a guilty verdict, throw it all out, and start all over.
Eddie
Because there were burglaries, right?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Amy Brown
Okay.
Bobby Bones
I mean, maybe, but people are also found guilty. And they're not guilty at times, too, because of reasons like we're not giving all the evidence. And look at almost what happened in that Massachusetts case where the snow car. Wasn't that called the big snow car murder?
Oh, yeah. What was her.
They would have found her so guilty. She would have been guilted out of her freaking mind had people not said, I don't think she's right. I'm gonna come work pro bono for her and keep her out of prison. You don't think they were all working against her? What was her name? Karen Reed.
Eddie
Karen Reed.
Bobby Bones
You don't think Karen Reed was gonna be so guilty had people not with crazy resources got involved, not charged her and said, we've got your back. And twice, yeah, she'd have been a victim of this. And we'd have been like, well, she's guilty. Guilty, Prison. She did it. Murdered.
Amy Brown
I know some people think she's gonna.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, some people do, sure. I don't.
Amy Brown
You know the saying.
Bobby Bones
Do you understand What I'm saying.
Amy Brown
I do know what you're saying. But there is a saying, like, if a spouse is dead, look at the one that's breathing.
Bobby Bones
She watches too many movies on Hallmark.
That doesn't rhyme. So I don't like it. I understand it. I understand.
Eddie
Can you imagine you. You start every case like that.
Bobby Bones
Like, all right, like, oh, you 101st.
Look at the spouse, look at the person who's still breathing. Well, Chuck, I can't remember that because it don't rhyme. Can we do a glove now? Can we fit fit and a quit in there or something?
Amy Brown
I don't know if that's the exact saying, but I did hear it on a Dateline.
Bobby Bones
She was arrested and charged with manslaughter, motor vehicle homicide, leaving the scene of a murder which caused death. Again, we all would have felt the same way about her as we do about Scott Peterson is about this murder guy. Because she'd have been found guilty and we'd have thought, well, we just trust the jury because they know. But it wasn't about the jury. It was about the evidence. They didn't even share it. That trial shined light on inside jobs by the freaking police department and how corrupt they were. And you don't think that's happening everywhere. You don't think Mark Fuhrman would have been so corrupt with OJ Withholding? Of course, a lot of that's political. Like, you can't go and launch into this and lose. So I don't believe the media all the time. They just want clicks. And sometimes the media are tricked because of evidence that isn't shared and why corruption. That's my point. He probably did it, though.
Eddie
I come back at the end.
Bobby Bones
They still probably did it. But. But yeah, I'm just not fully on board with everybody being guilty now. So that's what's up. I don't think Michael Jackson touched the boys. Is that controversial? You know who else does that? Candace Owens, I think I saw her talking about, like, Michael Jackson did not molest those boys. He was weird. He settled because I don't think he ever like law. He settled.
Amy Brown
So is that what the. If potentially, is that what the alleged victims are after is money?
Bobby Bones
Oh, I would say for sure.
Amy Brown
Okay.
Bobby Bones
In that case, let's see. Michael Jackson was acquitted of all counts in 2005 criminal trial. So he was acquitted in criminal court. People don't say that whenever they're definitely. I didn't know Michael Jackson. I, like, did two shows with him.
Eddie
Just two.
Bobby Bones
I don't know I didn't know Michael Jackson at all. So he was acquitted. And people still associate because of what the media did to us. He's. Oh, he for sure was a kid toucher. Separate civil lawsuits have had various outcomes, including recent legal challenges against his estate. He was investigated for child abuse in 93. No criminal charges were filed after the accuser's family reached a million dollar civil settlement. If somebody touched your kid, don't you probably want them to go to jail too?
Morgan
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Sue them civilly after. Because you can sue somebody civilly while they're in jail.
Eddie
Right. Jail is the priority, then money anyway, that's what's up.
Bobby Bones
I don't believe anything anymore. Don't believe anything. That's all. That's the message here. Murloc probably did it, though.
Eddie
That's a crazy story, man.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I still feel like I'm all hard. Things people thinks probably happen. I'm just in general in my life. I'm not assigned to things being for sure anymore because there are so many instances of me being wrong, either with me just having the opinion or me being led to opinions by people that I. I say people, organizations that I trust, which in the end, these organizations are only trying to get clicks. These organizations are only trying to sell revenue, make revenue based on ad sales. And that's all. It's like the news. The news isn't the news. The news needs to be super sensational. So you watch so they get ratings, so they can sell commercials. So they're gonna do the most sensational thing possible.
Amy Brown
You know what the story of as them as a family, the Murdochs as a family. Like, it makes me think of as a mom. What would I do if that was my son in that situation that clearly drank a lot.
Bobby Bones
Back to Murdoch.
Amy Brown
Yeah. The Murdoch family.
Bobby Bones
Is it Murdoch?
Eddie
Murdoch.
Amy Brown
But it's spelled Murdoch.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Cause I don't ever know how to say it, so I really don't commit to it.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Eddie
Murdoch.
Bobby Bones
And then it was like Morgan with bone apple teat.
Morgan
Yeah.
Amy Brown
But it makes me wonder, like, in that moment, I think that I would have to. He's like, at the hospital trying to convince other families to shh. Like, don't say who was driving. Like, he's trying to instantly go into lawyer mode and cover up for his son when what he should have been doing was checking his son into rehab.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, but we should have cut in. I agree.
Amy Brown
I know. I'm just thinking, I hope I would be the type of parent that recognize, okay, my son clearly has a drinking problem, but they just still carried on drinking with their kids.
Eddie
Well, they were more about covering stuff up than actually like raising.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
You know, or like correct.
Bobby Bones
I don't know enough about it. I just. He probably did it, but I don't believe he did.
Amy Brown
He probably did.
Bobby Bones
Lunchbox.
Yeah. There was this 21 year old girl, she was in Africa and she was a volunteer at a safari place and she was leading a safari. There's one leader in the front and one in the back and they're on horseback and she's in the back and they are just going down a trail and there was a lion waiting in the bush. Jumps out and bites her by the back of the neck. Rips her off the horse.
Oh. Tries to carry her away.
Yes. And then he finally just lets go and leaves her. And she has a broken arm and she had a stroke while she was in the hospital. But the doctor said she's going to make a 100% recovery.
Were they, they're doing safari, were they hunting at all? No, it doesn't like an animal hunting.
Eddie
Why would you. I just wouldn't go on a horse in that environment.
Bobby Bones
I think you probably trust the people that are normally in that environment and they're like, yeah, no problem. Nobody ever gets tagged like those big trucks. You know, I'm cool with that unfamiliar environment. You trust people that are familiar and I'm sure that's the case here. And the lion got her. I wonder why a lion just doesn't see something and go. And just for fun, go. Attack. Scared?
Hurt?
Morgan
Hungry?
Bobby Bones
No, hungry. He would kill their neighbor.
Amy Brown
Hey, maybe she thought he was playing.
Eddie
Well, you should see Lane.
Bobby Bones
The four marks on the back of her neck are just like, wow.
Yeah.
Eddie
I wonder if lions are like sharks. Like when they're like they're hungry, they see a human, they bite it and they're like, oh, that's a human.
Bobby Bones
I don't want that could taste bad.
Eddie
Yeah, because like sharks do not like drinking spoiled milk.
Bobby Bones
Like that milk looks good. Let me have it. Oh God. I didn't know it was spoiled or.
Amy Brown
You know, all of our blood is different. Like maybe they don't like.
Eddie
Oh, typo.
Amy Brown
A negative.
Bobby Bones
Eddie, you're up.
Eddie
Yeah. So there's a guy, it's a funny story. There's a guy that he's married and his in law, every time he goes to his in law's house that her parents make them sleep in separate beds and they've been married for like a couple years. So the, the husband's like, you know what Fine. Every time they come to our house, I'm gonna make them sleep in separate beds. So they came and visited and he's making them sleep in separate beds. And the dads kind of thinks it's funny. The father in law is like, that's kind of funny. Like, I made them do that. That's cool. But the wife is the one that's like, upset about it. Like, why are you doing that to my parents?
Bobby Bones
I like a good joke.
Eddie
He's not joking, he's upset.
Amy Brown
No, it is a joke.
Bobby Bones
It's kind of a joke. It's kind of a joke. It's kind of a get back joke.
Amy Brown
But also, they've been married for a year, a few years. And even when they're married, why do they have to sleep in?
Eddie
I mean, they're, they're Lebanese. I don't know if it's a culture thing.
Amy Brown
Oh, maybe.
Eddie
But he's not Lebanese.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
And he was just like, fine, I'll do it to them.
Bobby Bones
I like it. I like it because I don't feel like it's coming from a malicious place.
Eddie
And his father in law is like.
Bobby Bones
Eventually they're going to sleep in the same bed. Eventually they're going to be like, you're back. Yeah, yeah, you're back, Morgan.
Amy Brown
So there's a video of Cynthia and Ariana Grande at Universal for Wicked. It's the new premiere of that movie. And this fan, like, runs onto the carpet and like kind of attacks Ariana.
Bobby Bones
Attack. Or is aggressive love super aggressive love. Got him.
Amy Brown
Better way to put it. But Cynthia, like, intervenes and everybody's like, really applauding Cynthia because she kind of acted as a security guard and pushed this fan off of. Of Ariana. But like, so what's crazy about this though is this guy is known for doing this.
Bobby Bones
Oh, it's, it's crazy. He can get around close enough to be able to do this.
Amy Brown
Yeah. So he's done it to Coldplay. He's done it to the weekend. He did it at the Olympics.
Bobby Bones
Sounds like Lunch Rock. Literally. I mean, yeah, that's how he sees every celebrity.
So he goes screaming.
But if he's physically touching people, I'm surprised that he gets close enough to anyone. Like, there's not like, hey, we're doing a red carpet. It's like, chris, Chris. We got to watch out for Chris. Security. This is a picture of him. It's like when you write a bad check and they put your name up at the gas station. Like, don't take a check from whoever I'm surprised that he's still. If he's known for it.
Amy Brown
Well, he posts the videos on social media. I mean, after they happen. But, like, he did it at the Olympics. He did it. He was a streaker on a big soccer game. Like, he's doing all of these things, and there's full videos of him, but he's still able to do it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. That's weird. Also, I think if I were sent. Let's say it was Amy and I, and we're walking a red carpet together, and someone comes on and just runs up to Amy and is like, I love you so much. I think I'd be like, oh, you love her? Fine.
Eddie
You're all jealous.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Why you do. That's why I was thinking. I was like, why would the other lady jump in front of her?
Well, because. Also, because she's a good human and she doesn't want her friend to be attacked by anyone. But I think a little bit of me be like, man, why didn't I get attacked?
Morgan
This sucks.
Bobby Bones
I'll do one final story. The last penny ever was minted yesterday. They have now stopped making pennies.
Stupid.
If you have pennies, I'm not even gonna say, hold on to them. They're too many for them to be valuable.
Eddie
There's a ton.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, there's a ton. But they made the last penny. I'm not a penny guy. I don't have any pennies. If I see pennies, I don't care. I'm not quarters. I'm in dimes. Okay, I'll keep it in my wallet, but nickels are too big. If nickels were bigger than dimes, I would keep them. If a nickel meant 10 cents, I would keep it. But a nickel's too big for me to keep around when I'm already debating on keeping around a dime.
Eddie
Yeah, yeah. More value of the dime.
Bobby Bones
You're trying to find value. The ridiculous thing that I'm saying.
Eddie
But so. So was it true that the. The penny cost, like, $0.03 to make?
Bobby Bones
I heard that. I don't know.
Eddie
And so that's not. That's probably.
Bobby Bones
I probably believe it.
Eddie
Who knows, man? Believe anything. I don't know anything.
Bobby Bones
So that's kind of interesting that that was the last ever penny that was minted and made. All right.
Eddie
That penny's got to be worth something.
Amy Brown
In other news.
Bobby Bones
Give us some other news.
Amy Brown
Y' all have to RSVP to our work Christmas party by today.
Bobby Bones
Okay? Irsv. No. Hey, Scuba, can you get us. Amy and I got charged Apart today. Already fixed it for you. You're good now. Thank you.
Amy Brown
But do we get, like. Is it they reimbursing our cards?
Morgan
You get a credit.
Bobby Bones
They're going to send you a gift.
Eddie
Card in the mail to use for other parking purchases coming up.
Bobby Bones
You're out of your mind.
Amy Brown
That's a joke.
Bobby Bones
They're not sending us a car.
Eddie
Nice little visa, MasterCard that we'll never use now.
Bobby Bones
You're good, Bobby. You're covered now.
Eddie
So you're fine. And then, Amy, they're going to take.
Bobby Bones
Care of yours as well. Yeah, I pulled in today. I was like, you can charge 50 bucks to park here. First day I've been here since that surgery. And I was like, what the heck? So I started crying. And then I gave away my car. I sent my car back to the dealership. I just sent everything back. Now I'm in a bad mood, so I sent everything back. Send my wife back to Oklahoma. Sent the mirror ball back to abc.
Eddie
Everything now.
Bobby Bones
Everything. I'm just gonna send everything back.
Amy Brown
Well, you talking about that made me check. Cause, yeah, I had been at your house, and then yesterday afternoon, I had to come up here for one hour. One hour.
Bobby Bones
Did you stay at my house for a long time yesterday?
Amy Brown
No, I.
Bobby Bones
Day before yesterday. No, that's not true. I saw you with my wife in the gym.
Amy Brown
I was there for.
Bobby Bones
No, I don't. I'm just asking.
Amy Brown
Two minutes. A long time.
Eddie
Why are you.
Bobby Bones
You stay everywhere a long time. That's why I asked.
Amy Brown
No, no, because she was having a workout.
Bobby Bones
I didn't even know you were there. I thought. When I walked through, I saw you, and I was like, amy's in the gym.
Amy Brown
Yeah, but I just thought you were.
Bobby Bones
Working out with him.
Amy Brown
No, no, no, no, no. I just popped in because I also know who she was with. So I was just saying hi real quick, but it wasn't a long time. But then yesterday, I did have to come up here only for one hour. And then when. After you started talking about that this morning, I went and looked at my email, and that's when I realized. $50. I was here for one hour.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I think that's the hour. Yeah.
Amy Brown
That's crazy.
Eddie
It's a lot for an hour.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. All right, everybody.
Morgan
Good.
Amy Brown
Good parking business in the.
Bobby Bones
What business?
Amy Brown
We should get in the parking business.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's a good one. You gotta buy property.
Eddie
The property is the parking lot.
Bobby Bones
And if you want good property in a place where people park, it's very expensive.
Amy Brown
All right, never mind. No, no, I'll keep working on my other ideas.
Bobby Bones
None of us said you shouldn't. We just presented more texture, more. More context to just getting in the parking business.
Amy Brown

Eddie
Love yourself them brunches loving marriage.
Amy Brown
You know what's become attractive to me? And it's because I've self corrected and I guess I detoxified myself. Accountability, like it has been mad attractive. So attractive to me and everything else in between. I've told my most embarrassing moment on this podcast before, which was me taking in a Ziploc bag.
Eddie
So listen to Ellis Ever after on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Amy Brown
I'm Eva Longoria. And I'm Maite Gomez Rejun. And on our podcast Hungry for History, we mix two of our favorite things. Food and history. Ancient Athenians used to scratch names onto oyster shells and they called these ostrakon to vote politicians into exile. So our word ostracize is related to the word oyster. No way. Bring back the ostracon. And because we've got a very mi casa es su casa kind of vibe on our show, friends always stop by.
Bobby Bones
Pretty much every entry into this side of the planet was through the El Golfo de Mexico. No, the America. No, the America. El Golfo de Mexico continuad forever and ever.
Amy Brown
It blows me away how progressive Mexico was in this moment. They had land reform, they had labor rights, they had education rights. Mustard seeds were so valuable to the ancient Egyptians that they used to place them in their tombs for the afterlife. Listen to Hungry for History as part of the My Cultura podcast network, available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Bobby Bones
The Bobby Bone Show.
We have some listeners about to come and sit with us for a minute. They, I think, bid a bunch in a charity. I don't know which charity. I'll be honest. There's like four or five charities that I work with, and I'm like, you can bid whatever you want. They can come make out with Lunchbox. They could do. And they usually just pick. Sitting in on the show.
Eddie
Not make out with Lunchbox.
Bobby Bones
No, that one has never been chosen.
Eddie
Interesting.
Bobby Bones
Oddly enough. Does that surprise you?
Yeah, it does surprise me. And I mean, we've already had an interaction with these people that was very.
Hey, guys. Alarming. Come on in.
Disturbing.
We're on right now, so come on in. Grab your.
Eddie
Alarming and disturbing.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, Our interaction with them in the.
The green room, why was it alarming and disturbing?
Well, because we walk.
Talking about you guys, by the way. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So we walk in and I walk in, I'm like, hey, I'm Lunchbox. Hi. Hi. Amy comes in, or Morgan comes in after me, shakes the guy's hand. And then she goes, I'm Leah. And Morgan goes, I'm Morgan.
She goes, Morgan. Oh, so you're mad. You're mad that she breaks out and.
Gives Amy and gives her a big old hug. And Amy is like, oh, that's funny, huh? Hu. And then Amy introduces herself and she got the handshake. And Amy goes, oh.
Oh, you were. Amy was offended too.
Don't even act like you were.
Amy Brown
My response was a joke. I was mimicking lunchbox. Like, that's totally fine. I was leaning into the joke.
Bobby Bones
Okay, I would like to sit. First of all, guys, let me show you this. There's a reason I didn't get up. I have a cast on my leg, so I didn't get to come out. And I can't even lift my cast up. Oh, I know. Yeah. Chris and Leah, right?
Morgan
Yep.
Bobby Bones
Okay, so. And you can hold your microphones up here. Sorry I didn't get to come out and say hi, I can't walk. So this is my first time meeting you and Leah. What you just heard?
It was 100% accurate. She'll back it up. It was 100% accurate.
No, no, no, don't. We're not going to bull run her. We're going to let her talk. Leah, what. What would you say happened out there?
Amy Brown
Well, I've been working with Morgan and communicating back and forth.
Bobby Bones
Oh, so you have a relationship, decided to meet her.
Eddie
That makes sense.
Amy Brown
We've been talking forth and I'm not typically a hugger, but you know, like.
Bobby Bones
I was excited to see her. That's awesome. And I typically am not a hugger either. So there you go. I don't even touch people anymore. Do you guys notice this in pictures?
Eddie
Oh, like when you take pictures with them?
Bobby Bones
With anybody?
Eddie
Yeah, yeah, I see that.
Bobby Bones
Like, it's become a bit awkward too, where, like, even yesterday, I did a couple interviews yesterday and I immediately put my hands in my pockets. I just don't ever want to be in a picture and someone's like, bobby touched me creepily. So I stopped taking. I stopped touching people in pictures forever ago. Right. You can't ever be too careful. So if you guys come in and you're betting on me touching you, I got bad news for you. That ain't gonna happen. Leah, are you a fan of the show? Are you familiar with the show at all? A little bit. Never. You can say no.
Amy Brown
Honestly, I didn't know about the show until I bought the prize.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
And then why would you bid? I'm so well, there's a bunch.
No, there's a bunch on it. It was a whole thing. Experience.
Amy Brown
Nashville.
Bobby Bones
Oh, that's why you did it. That's why you guys act like you didn't know who I was. That makes more sense now. Okay, guys, now we're starting to put it together because I was really like. I mean, Morgan, I mean, let's be real. Compared to Amy and I, not even close to our level.
And she really is going to check out the show now. She's like, I have never felt more welcomed in a show.
No. But now it makes sense is that they had never heard of the show until they bid on it.
Where are you guys from?
Amy Brown
California.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Like northern Central. Salinas, Monterey, Monterey, Carmel. Very familiar. I love. I love that area.
Eddie
It's beautiful out there.
Morgan
It's gorgeous. Yeah, it's hard. Hard to beat.
Bobby Bones
Did you guys always live there or was that, like a destination? Like, once we get rich, we're going to move there?
Morgan
Well, I've always lived there.
Bobby Bones
He was born there.
Morgan
Yep.
Amy Brown
I'm from Anchorage, Alaska.
Bobby Bones
No way. You're that one.
Amy Brown
I'm that one.
Bobby Bones
People say that to me about coming out of Arkansas. Like, if I go anywhere else, they're like, you're from Arkansas. I've never met anybody from Arkansas.
Morgan
You and Bill Clinton.
Bobby Bones
That's right. And, you know, I don't know him, but I don't ever get. Yeah, yeah. Well, Bill, you know what? I'll stop there.
Eddie
And Johnny Cash.
Bobby Bones
That's true. Well, no, we don't need to do John Daly. We can do this.
Eddie
John Daly.
Bobby Bones
Do people say that to you often? Like, wow, you're from Alaska. I've never met anybody from Alaska.
Amy Brown
A lot.
Bobby Bones
And why did you come down into the continental United States?
Amy Brown
My mom worked for a mortgage company in the 80s and it went out.
Bobby Bones
Of business, and so she was offered.
Amy Brown
A position in California.
Bobby Bones
And how old were you then?
Amy Brown
19.
Bobby Bones
Okay, so. Wow. Your real memories from childhood are in Alaska. What is it like growing up in Alaska? Is it daylight 23 hours a day?
Amy Brown
It is.
Bobby Bones
And summertime. How do you. Is it all dark curtains and wearing sleep masks? How does that work?
Amy Brown
Yeah, there's a lot of blackout curtains sold in.
Bobby Bones
That's crazy. It's, I think, the one state now that I haven't been to. I've toured and gone just about any. I know. It's just far.
Amy Brown
It's a destination.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. It's like, you gotta fly to Chicago and then that's not even. And that's the quick flight and then you gotta fly another six hours and when you get there, there may not even be light. And so then you can't even do anything outside when it's dark the whole.
Amy Brown
Time in the winter.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. How do you. Can you just go to sleep at any time and it feels normal?
Amy Brown
You know, I. You just get used to it. That's what you're. I grew up in that other moose.
Bobby Bones
Just walking around.
Eddie
Yeah, good question.
Bobby Bones
Dude, that's crazy.
Eddie
Yeah, good question. Polar bears. Nope, not just.
Bobby Bones
That's a different part of the world.
Amy Brown
Yeah, they're in Alaska. But they're like way.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Not in the city. Like.
Amy Brown
Yeah, the North Pole.
Eddie
But moose are.
Amy Brown
Oh yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Really? And they're massive, right?
Amy Brown
They are pretty big.
Bobby Bones
Because when I think of Bullwinkle the cartoon, not much bigger than like the warden or the mountie or whatever, but in real life they're like bigger than a car.
Amy Brown
Oh, yes, they're huge.
Bobby Bones
Would you just. Would they ever just be crossing the road?
Amy Brown
All the time.
Bobby Bones
That's crazy.
Eddie
That is crazy.
Bobby Bones
Do they allow you to moose hunt in Alaska? Oh, they do, definitely. Is there a season?
Amy Brown
I'm sure.
Bobby Bones
Man, that's crazy.
Morgan
It's a lot of meat. A moose.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Like you could feed a family for like a winter if you cut it right. Yeah.
Eddie
What about the salmon? Like I see salmon a lot like Alaskan Salm. Halibut.
Morgan
The halibuts.
Bobby Bones
We don't curse on this show, sir. So did you go up with her ever to Alaska?
Morgan
Only once. It was about, gosh, 20 years ago now.
Bobby Bones
What was it like for you being a California guy up in Alaska?
Morgan
It was cool. The one thing that Leah has always said to me about being in Alaska is sometimes you'll be somewhere and you have the thought that nobody else. Another human's never stepped in this spot. Never gonna have that feeling in California.
Bobby Bones
That's true.
Eddie
Yeah, everyone's been there.
Bobby Bones
That's true. I really like because I've been to Monterey. I've played like, I've done a theater there, doing stand up. And then I came and I did the celebrity golf tournament, pebble beach and so all that area. It's so nice and it's like temperate, which like you. It's kind of chilly a little bit at times.
Morgan
Yeah. I mean last week we had an 85 degree day. I think it was Sunday. And then it will get down to the 40.
Bobby Bones
You ever see Craig Kilborn walking around?
Morgan
No. Clint Eastwood.
Bobby Bones
One time I played. We played golf right beside Clint Eastwood. He's like the mayor.
Morgan
He was the mayor in the 80s.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Morgan
Yeah. And he's. Yeah, he's. He's lived there for.
Eddie
We talked to someone who said that they almost hit him with their car. He was at the grocery store in.
Bobby Bones
The parking lot, but he was just like, normal life.
Eddie
Living normal life. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And so you grew up there?
Morgan
I did.
Bobby Bones
That's like somebody who grows up a 90210, it feels like, to me, like.
Morgan
Well, Salinas is. So it's agriculture. It's 20 minutes from Monterey, Carmel, pebble beach, and it's. It's agriculture region. A lot of the fresh vegetables, spinach, strawberries, artichokes, come out of there for the entire nation, actually.
Eddie
Wow.
Morgan
Just a little bit different demographic. A socioeconomic.
Bobby Bones
I didn't get out to the artichoke farms. Oh, no.
Morgan
Next time I could definitely set that up.
Bobby Bones
Are you artichoke guy?
Morgan
I'm not. I mean, I love artichokes, but I'm an accountant, but.
Amy Brown
Oh, you asking if he liked artichoke or. He's an artichoke farmer.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
What did you mean by that?
Bobby Bones
I just wanted to know where he took me. I kind of. That's kind of just an open question to see where I took.
Amy Brown
No, I'm not a farmer.
Bobby Bones
So you guys are. What? Have you done anything in Nashville yet?
Morgan
We just got in yesterday. Yeah, so. So the big event yesterday was we were standing with LeAnn Rimes getting luggage at the airport.
Bobby Bones
Did you hear the news stories about people think she has a boob job?
Morgan
I did not heard that.
Bobby Bones
And I was like, people, get off her back. What'd you guys think when you were there? Did you notice?
Morgan
I.
Eddie
Easy.
Morgan
I would have checked it out for you, though, if I would have known.
Bobby Bones
Just thought it was unfair. People were, like, beating her up over her.
Eddie
He's like, of course I didn't notice. I wasn't looking at that.
Amy Brown
Hey, share with them what you did notice about their luggage.
Morgan
Oh, yeah. Not to be judgmental, but.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, be judgmental. We love being judgmental.
Morgan
To have matching luggage, I would think, okay, she's flying commercial. Fine. You know, most celebrities do. But didn't have matching luggage. I thought that was strange.
Bobby Bones
What do you mean?
Amy Brown
You know, I don't understand Leanne and Eddie being both famous people.
Bobby Bones
Did you see Eddie would have.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
That's cool.
Amy Brown
Yes, they were together.
Bobby Bones
Was anyone taking pictures with them?
Morgan
No.
Bobby Bones
Good. Now you'll see that Nashville, probably while you're here. Nashville. Because so many famous people live here for the most part. Super respectful famous people. Like, there's a time and a place and if they do, they'll go and be like, hey, do you mind? But I totally am not surprised that nobody bothered them at the airport.
Morgan
Yeah, it's funny, at Carmel, where we're from is very similar. See Clint Eastwood, people don't go up to him. Different celebrities come up from LA and it's very low key.
Bobby Bones
Kind of the culture. Like, leave people alone.
Morgan
Yes. Let them do their thing.
Bobby Bones
Who else have you seen up there?
Morgan
Oh, gosh, I don't know.
Bobby Bones
Just give me one. Give me like a great celebrity.
Morgan
Brad, what's his. Brad Pitt.
Bobby Bones
Oh, that's cool. He bought it.
Morgan
Like a forty million dollar castle kind of thing.
Eddie
That's amazing.
Bobby Bones
He bought a castle up there.
Morgan
I think it was Brad Pitt.
Amy Brown
Yes.
Morgan
Okay. I'll spread rumors.
Bobby Bones
What other Brad can buy a castle up there?
Eddie
Brad, who's the guy from Everybody Loves Raymond? Yeah. Not him though, right?
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So what else are you guys going? Are you coming to the Opry?
Morgan
We are looking forward to it.
Bobby Bones
That'd be awesome. So Eddie and I are playing. I think Kelsey Ballerini's playing. You got a good Friday night. Ashley Cook. Ashley Cook's playing. It's tough because most Friday nights or Saturday nights, the artists that are big are out touring. This is one of those rare Friday nights where they're massive artists and then us. But it's a good one.
Eddie
They knew they could get us on a Friday night.
Bobby Bones
They can get us any night. Yeah. They can just call us at any time. You're gonna like that because we'll bring you backstage with us and we'll. I would say I'd give you the whole tour. I can't walk is what's so unfortunate.
Eddie
I can give them the tour.
Morgan
You were talking. I don't know if it was yesterday or I was listening and you were worried about how you were gonna do the show.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
On drugs. Yeah. On pain pills. Hello.
Morgan
Or a walker.
Bobby Bones
I don't. What do you think? Do you think I should roll out in a wheelchair or is that too much?
Morgan
I don't think it's too much. I think it'd be.
Amy Brown
I think you should be one of those knee thingies.
Bobby Bones
I have. That's what I have. I've been on that. It's like a prosthetic leg.
Eddie
But he has the peg, though, not the wheel.
Amy Brown
No, I was the little scooter with you. Put your knee.
Bobby Bones
Okay. I have a scooter. I do have. I have all three things. I have Crutches. I have the peg leg, and I have the scooter. Now, my wife has implemented rules at our house that we can't wear shoes in the house, because if you're walking around all outside and you start walking inside, all the stuff from outside is on the floor, everywhere. And she's like, I don't think we should wear shoes. So I'm like, great. And if I use that scooter outside and then I bring it back in the house, it's like a shoe. I got to leave it at the door. And it's pretty much my means of transportation in the house. And I don't want to buy a second one because it was kind of a beast to put together. So now what would you do after hearing that stupid story?
Amy Brown
Get wheel covers.
Bobby Bones
Do they make wheels?
Eddie
Like plastic?
Amy Brown
Sure, why not?
Bobby Bones
Do you want to make me some wheel covers? What else are you guys going to do while you're here?
Morgan
You know, we don't really have plans. We just. We're definitely going to check out Broadway and go hard.
Bobby Bones
Go hard tonight. Like, shots. Do a shot at every one of the bars.
Morgan
Right.
Bobby Bones
That's what everybody does that comes to town.
Morgan
Really?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
So you have to do that.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Morgan
You have to advise. Yeah. We're getting a little. Little. Maybe a little old for that. I don't know.
Bobby Bones
There is a walk, like the Nashville Celebrity walk.
Amy Brown
Oh, right, the Walk of Fame.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. That's what it is. Walk of Fame, where, like, different stars have a. Like a walk.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Lunchbox is super upset about the walk currently.
Well, I just wondered because that Old Dominion got a walk, a star on the Walk of Fame this week, and I'm like, are they really that big?
Do you guys know country music at all? A little bit, yeah. Do you know Old Dominion? He's upset that they got a star. Wow.
I just. I don't know if they're one of the. They're good. They've put out music. I don't know how many albums they put out, but a lot. And they have some hits. Hotel Key, One Man Band. Any other ones I'm missing?
Yeah, a lot.
Like, oh, break up with her.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Snapback. No, that's not it. They have live.
Eddie
Snap.
Morgan
Snap back.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Who would you put in their place?
Well, not even necessarily their place. I'm just saying, are they one of the greatest country artists of all time? Like, are they one.
They have 125 different.
112.
Okay, 100. Thank you. 112 different stars currently on the Walk of Fame and he's upset that they got one.
I just didn't know if they're one of the top 112 artists to ever grace country music. I was just asking, you know what I mean? Like, it just caught me off guard.
Eddie
Is it weird to you all that he would get mad at something like that? Like, angry.
Bobby Bones
Is it weird to you that he would get mad after you saw him get mad that you didn't know who he was? It all kind of tracks, right?
Morgan
That's true.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. When do you guys go home?
Amy Brown
Monday.
Morgan
Monday.
Bobby Bones
So do you have more plans other than Opry tomorrow night?
Morgan
No, we have dinner reservations on Saturday, but otherwise we're going to play it by ear.
Bobby Bones
That's. That's fine. That's the best.
Morgan
The food scene is. Is incredible. I didn't. Hadn't realized that. It's a fairly recent thing, apparently in Nashville last maybe five or six years. So we're excited to check out some of the. Some of the eating establishments, the restaurants.
Bobby Bones
The food scene is amazing. Asterisk. Because there really are some great places. There are some great chefs that now live here, but some of the places that aren't so good try to piggyback off that. And like, oh, we're all so good. Like, where are you guys going to go?
Morgan
Do you know, last night we went to Etch.
Bobby Bones
Etch is really good. And it's a standard. It's been here forever.
Morgan
Okay.
Bobby Bones
That's one of the places that I would say you should go. And it's close to downtown.
Morgan
Yeah, we walked. It was.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it was cool. It's great.
Morgan
I like the story, too. And then Saturday. Oh, gosh. Not Hutch. Oh, darn it.
Bobby Bones
That's okay.
Morgan
Yeah. Anyway, what kind of Hut.
Bobby Bones
What? Oh, Pizza Hut.
Morgan
Not that one.
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Morgan
There you go. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Morgan, you like us?
Amy Brown
I've been there once. It's been a long time, though. I love it. And it's beautiful. Like, the house that it's in. Was it really pretty?
Eddie
No, that's.
Amy Brown
They have a lot of different things.
Bobby Bones
It was.
Morgan
They said it is. It was up sort of a southern, but. But elevated a bit, which.
Amy Brown
Yeah, it's elevated.
Morgan
Definitely have to do hot chicken one day.
Eddie
You got to do that.
Bobby Bones
Okay, so here's what I want to say about that. A little overrated, really.
Amy Brown
But if you gotta try, you gotta try it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. It's like going to Times Square.
Amy Brown
So which one?
Bobby Bones
Okay, guys. Why are you putting me in this place? I don't think that's the best, but that is the Times Square. Like, you should go. And the line's going to be long because that's the most famous. And they have to do so much because they're so popular. I think they're really good, but I don't think it's, like, the best because they're so popular. And when you got to turn over so much chicken, how do you put the effort into every piece of chicken? I like Hattie B's.
Eddie
I see what you're saying, but it's.
Bobby Bones
Morgan, do you have a hot chicken? Yeah.
Amy Brown
The place that I. I personally don't eat hot chicken, but the place I always take everybody to is Prince's, and everybody's obsessed with it.
Eddie
Don't like Princess.
Morgan
Really?
Eddie
I don't like it.
Bobby Bones
I do.
Eddie
I don't.
Bobby Bones
Why not?
Eddie
Too hot.
Bobby Bones
Okay. That's why. Got it. Fair enough.
Eddie
It's like, I love the hot idea, but if you're gonna, like, kill me with the heat, I'm out.
Morgan
Got it. That makes sense.
Bobby Bones
So if you're not a wimp, go to Prince's, basically. But I think you should go to Hattie B's, because I think it's part of the Nashville experience. And I like Hattie B's, but everybody knows Hattie B's, so everybody goes to Hattie B's. And you have to weigh waiting in line with getting the chicken and how good the chicken is.
Morgan
Is one location better than another?
Bobby Bones
How does that work? The one downtown is probably the most packed, right? The one down downtown. But there's another one, too.
Amy Brown
There's one in West. If you can go to the west one, you probably won't wait as long.
Bobby Bones
7 minute different in drive, though. Yeah, it's not that far. Okay, so you have a car or you Uber?
Morgan
No, Uber.
Amy Brown
But people also say, like, a little hack for that, too. Could be ordering it online. Like, to go, oh, no, don't do that.
Bobby Bones
You got to experience it in the.
Amy Brown
Place the line is.
Bobby Bones
No, if you're going to do the line, do the freaking line and wait in line and do the whole experience.
Eddie
And then you tell everyone, like, oh, we waited in line. It was cool.
Morgan
You have a cocktail while you're waiting in line?
Amy Brown
I don't know.
Bobby Bones
I don't know. You can put it in, like, a Sonic cup. Do you guys have Sonics?
Morgan
We do.
Eddie
We have to go back to high school.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If you wanted to hide it, you go get like a. Yeah, like a lemonberry slush or something. You pour your drink in there.
Morgan
Great.
Eddie
Everclear.
Bobby Bones
Are you guys exhausted from your flight? Because that's a long trip.
Amy Brown
It was.
Morgan
We were very tired last night, but.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, feeling good today. Where'd you have to connect? Like, Denver, Louisiana. Oh, and then you made the whole LA to Nashville.
Morgan
Yes.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, that's hard. What sucks about that and all my things are. What sucks about that, like, is you tell me a story, I'm like, you know what? Yeah, but here's what sucks about that. You have to fly back the longer way now because of headwinds. What I like about going to LA is the way there is longer. The way back is shorter because the headwinds saved you half an hour. You guys got the short trip here. I feel bad for you on the way home.
Morgan
Yeah, yeah. That's rough.
Bobby Bones
As you can see, I really invest too much into finding things wrong. I'm like, you know what sucks about Hattie B's? The lines. Oh, that's super cool.
Amy Brown
And I was trying to share how to avoid the lines, but never mind.
Bobby Bones
I just don't think that's part of the experience.
Amy Brown
But if you can experience, if the whole experience, then you're just gonna go.
Bobby Bones
Sit on a curb and eat it.
Amy Brown
Well, people.
Bobby Bones
Well, you can go into hotel rooms. You don't have to eat on the street.
Amy Brown
They still get to enjoy it, but they'd rather spend their time doing other things. Since y' all have such a short.
Morgan
Stay, how long is this line? Like five hours?
Bobby Bones
No, no, no, no. If you're not in now, you won't get in tomorrow.
Amy Brown
Honestly, I've never been.
Bobby Bones
If you're not in line right now.
Eddie
I said like 20 minutes.
Bobby Bones
No, no, no, no lunch. It's 45 minutes to an hour.
Eddie
Really.
Bobby Bones
If it's like 2:00', clock, 10 minutes, 11:00am, 3 minutes.
So that's right when they open, you're. You're there, first one, Boom.
Eddie
Yeah.
Morgan
Well, up to two off hours, for sure.
Bobby Bones
Man. We've really, like.
Eddie
I know.
Bobby Bones
Peed on their chair. We're like, welcome to Nashville.
Can I give them a different one that's off the beaten path? That's really good.
Amy Brown
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Red's hot chicken.
Morgan
Ooh.
Bobby Bones
It is really good.
Amy Brown
By Centennial park, the beaten path.
Bobby Bones
It's like a little shack right across the street from Centennial Park.
Amy Brown
That far.
Bobby Bones
Really good.
Oh, I'd say that path's pretty beaten. It's just a different.
Yeah, yeah. It's not what people talk about. They talk about princes.
Eddie
They talk about maybe not a tourist path.
Bobby Bones
Right?
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And if you do, you Want to see famous people while you're here, or do you care? Sure, if so. The thing about Nashville with famous people is if you go anywhere where there are tourists are not going to be famous people. Like, when you go. You should go to Broadway for sure. Be careful, because you probably catch something. Who knows what it is? It's kind of. It's kind of the vibe there. You won't see anybody famous down there. And everybody expects if they go to these artist bars, they're gonna see possibly the artist. Unless that artist is fulfilling their contract of having to do, like, three appearances at their bar, which is. They're not even really their bars. They lease their name. You know, for the most part, that artist isn't there unless it's one of those times. But there are places like Red Door Losers. Like, if you want to go to a bar and possibly see, like, a country music artist, you go to, like, those places. But I don't know if that's your vibe or not. You may be, like, you know, hot. Chicken it up. You can't leave. Your tongue's hurting so bad.
Morgan
I think that sounds like fun. Is that Broadway area?
Bobby Bones
No, it's away from Broadway.
Amy Brown
It's around the corner.
Eddie
It's called West End.
Morgan
West End, Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And.
And, like, if you want, like, for food places, again, if you go, like, the really great places, if they go, they're gonna get, like, a private room. But if you go to, like, a random place, like a True Food kitchen here. I've seen so many artists and, like, famous people just chilling at True Food because nobody expects them to be there.
Eddie
I've seen them at Target.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, just go to Target. Just go grocery shops.
Amy Brown
Go grocery store.
Bobby Bones
That's right.
Morgan
They have to shop, right?
Bobby Bones
That's right. They have to shop.
Amy Brown
And they do actually do it themselves. Some.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, a lot of them.
Eddie
Some of them do.
Amy Brown
Like Reba. I saw her at the grocery store.
Bobby Bones
Once, and they walk around with a microphone. That's how you'll know for sure that it's them.
Morgan
Are they completely made up when they're out at Target?
Bobby Bones
No, no. It doesn't even look like them, but, like, Reba.
Eddie
That's why you have to go up to them and just, like, lift up their hat, stare at them.
Bobby Bones
They encourage you to touch them.
Morgan
Okay, I'll tell. I'll tell them. I got that. Good advice.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Well, I'm super happy for you guys. You got to come. What's the wet? Is it. Is it cold?
Eddie
No, it's nice.
Bobby Bones
75 degrees.
Amy Brown
Really great.
Bobby Bones
Because it's been. It sucked here.
Eddie
We told him it snowed on Monday. Like, I don'. This is a warm day.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's weird.
Morgan
75 today, I think they said.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Well, good.
Morgan
Amazing.
Bobby Bones
Go.
The city is awesome, and I'm not somebody who's from. From here, so I think you're gonna have a great time, especially if the weather's good and do all the Broadway stuff. But don't be. It's almost like a gremlin. Like, you fed a gremlin after midnight, it turns into the. I'd probably get out of there by 11.
Morgan
Okay, good. Good to know.
Bobby Bones
Wouldn't you guys agree?
Eddie
Nothing good happens after 11.
Bobby Bones
Well, it's just. Who knows? Especially on a Thursday and Friday night. It gets.
Eddie
It gets wild.
Bobby Bones
It gets insane. Yeah. It was super nice to meet you guys.
Morgan
Thank you much for your hospitality and supporting for the first tea program. And in Salina's Warburton, we actually brought you guys a few gifts.
Bobby Bones
Oh, we'd love to have you.
Oh, we love gifts.
Nobody loves gifts more than us.
Morgan
That's right.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, let's. What are they? Let's open them up.
Eddie
All right. Christmas time.
Bobby Bones
Morgan got her own individual.
Oh, good, good, good.
Eddie
She did.
Morgan
She actually did. Good.
Eddie
Wow.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Eddie
That's ridiculous.
Bobby Bones
Thank you. What if I open it and it's hot chicken?
Eddie
Oh, and no line or artist hooks.
Amy Brown
I feel like I need to say something.
Bobby Bones
You don't.
Eddie
This is what. So she really got her own gift?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, she got her own gift. She got her own box.
Okay, Open the box up there.
Amy Brown
Well, let her say it.
Bobby Bones
Go ahead and say no. Say what you're gonna say.
I'll get it.
Amy Brown
I just feel really honored that she recognized me over you lunchbox.
Bobby Bones
That's right.
Eddie
That's what you were gonna say.
Bobby Bones
That was not what you fought.
Eddie
That's what you fought for.
Bobby Bones
Amy. These are cool. Cool. Selena's hats. Thank you.
Amy Brown
Oh, I don't know.
Bobby Bones
Oh, and. Oh, it's like a Monterey specific path, right? Oh, that's from our area.
Amy Brown
Oh, cute.
Bobby Bones
Oh, it's a piece of the castle. The Brad Pitt.
No way.
It's a rock from the castle. It's Brad Pitt. Golf. Are you. Do you play golf?
Morgan
I really.
Bobby Bones
Wow.
Eddie
So I think part of the plan was to play golf one, but he says he doesn't play golf.
Morgan
Well, we did completely embarrass myself.
Bobby Bones
They hit us up and they were like, can you. They want to. They don't play golf. I'm like, great, let's find something else.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So we were able to. And I hope you guys think that the substitution is cool, is to play the Opry. We knew you were coming, so I called the Opry, and I play the Opry a bunch, and I was like, hey, is there any chance that I can play that night? Eddie and I'll come and play, because I want to bring our guests. They were like, awesome. No problem. So I hope that's a good substitution.
Morgan
That's an amazing substitution.
Eddie
We.
Morgan
Yeah, this sounds like so much. We agree. We really appreciate that.
Bobby Bones
And it's. I'm just telling you that show. You got so lucky with a good show.
Amy Brown
I'm excited.
Bobby Bones
That's fun. The Opry is one of the things, even to people listening now, if you come to Nashville, go to the Opry, because it's one of the Nashville. I won't even say traditions, but it's part, like, the fundamental reasons that Nashville even exists. So I'm glad you guys get to go to that. You will love it.
Eddie
All right.
Bobby Bones
And what else is in that present, man?
Don't worry about it.
Eddie
You'll find that out.
Bobby Bones
It's to me.
It's not to you, to us.
It's to all of us.
No, this is all to me. It says specifically, here's the note. We said it was to everybody, but mostly to you. Oh.
So, yeah, that explains the reaction in the green room. Yeah.
So if you guys are cool with it, I'm actually gonna. We love to take a picture with you guys. It's gonna take me, like, I don't know, 30 minutes to get up and walk over there. But thank you so much for, you know, buying the charity, the auction item. I know we put golf on there. I'm glad you didn't play golf, because I wouldn't have been able to play golf at all with my broken foot worked out.
Eddie
Yeah, that kind of.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. And we'll see you tomorrow night at the Opry, for sure.
Morgan
Excellent. Thank you so much.
Bobby Bones
And we're done. Thank you, guys. Thanks to our guests who came by, won the big charity deal. It was fun. A penny cost 3.69 cents. Yeah.
Eddie
See? More than the penny's worth.
Bobby Bones
There you go.
Eddie
Not worth it.
Bobby Bones
But if the penny gets used a.
Eddie
Bunch, which it doesn't. That's the problem.
Bobby Bones
Well, it gets cycled through many payments.
Eddie
People still use pennies. I would assume the actual penny.
Bobby Bones
I assume.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Don't ask me. We're done.
Eddie
I don't believe it.
Bobby Bones

This is an iHeart podcast.
Host: Bobby Bones (Premiere Networks)
Main Guests/Co-hosts: Amy Brown, Eddie, Morgan, Lunchbox
Special Guests: Listeners Chris and Leah (charity studio visit)
The episode is a lively, banter-filled mix of viral moments, pop culture reflections, and personal stories. The overarching theme is Bobby’s introspective response to ongoing criticism over his win on Dancing With The Stars (DWTS)—including his dramatic decision to send back his Mirror Ball Trophy after a particularly stinging comment by Tom Bergeron. The show also features a comedic debate about what it means to “go viral,” some reality TV and true crime unpacking, the final penny ever minted, listener voicemails, and an in-studio listener visit that playfully offends Lunchbox.
Tone: Conversational, humorous, occasionally vulnerable, with Bobby’s signature blend of sincerity and sarcasm.

Bobby explains why he shipped his DWTS Mirror Ball trophy back to ABC:
DA’s coping advice: Don’t read viral video comments.

Listener voicemails: Encouragement and questions about the tattoo and trophy.

This episode blends irreverent comedy, backstage “realness,” and personal vulnerability. Bobby’s trophy return provides an emotional throughline—an example of taking public criticism to heart, owning pain, then intentionally letting go (literally and metaphorically). It’s also a showcase of “family” banter—where irritations (Lunchbox feeling snubbed) become punchlines, and the audience, whether in the studio or at home, is always in on the joke.
The episode is a classic Bobby Bones cocktail of humor, heart, and honesty—with plenty of pop culture spice and Nashville flavor.
