Welcome to Tuesday's show. Morning, studio. Morning. When I don't get much sleep, I get that more. Now I'm not even sick, but when I get. It's like the older I get, the less sleep I get, the more I have. I just can't shake. I slept like garbage last night. Like, I was awake. Like, I fell asleep for like four hours, then I woke up for like 30 minutes. Slept for like 10 and just on and off all night. Didn't do anything out of the ordinary. Just trying to get through, trying to make it through the day.

[Amy]

Maybe there was something in the air because I didn't sleep great either. And I've been sleeping awesome. Except for Rub it in.

[Bobby Bones]

Rub it in. I never sleep awesome.

[Amy]

I know, but I'm saying last night I didn't. So I don't know. Maybe there's this weird energy about.

[Bobby Bones]

Does cold weather make you sick? Here's a question. Well, it's flipped for us, but it's now warm. So it went from cold to warm, but it might all come down to your nose. Doctors say everyone's winter wellness routine looks a little different. However, common practices you may adopt to prevent illnesses like taking vitamin C supplements, drinking herbal tea, getting enough sleep frequently washing your hands may make a big difference. But does being cold actually mean you'll get the cold or the flu? I'd always learned, this is me speaking here, that it wasn't so much the cold, but it was because it was cold. More people were in closer, condensed spaces. So if someone had a virus or bacteria, contagious bacteria, that would spread because everybody was closer together as opposed to when it's warm and more people are outside and they're. So that's what I'd come to think. But they say a lot of times that your immune system goes up and down depending on the weather. Respiratory illnesses are not so much because of frigid temperatures, but the cold weather may actually jack with your immune system. And that is a bit manipulated by all the stuff we're taking. Make sense. One thing leads to another. Leads to another.

[Amy]

Yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

Meaning it's definitely not the cold and it's not just your immune system. But the cold affects your immune system if you're not taking those supplements, if you're not getting enough sleep, and if you're not washing your hands. It's kind of a domino thing when it gets cold. So. That's from the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. I've stopped going to get my allergy shots. Not on purpose. At the end of the year, I just forgot to go back. I was going every week, me and a bunch of 12 year olds. Once, sometimes twice a week, we'd have our little thing. I'd be like, what up, 12 year olds? They'd be like, what up, old man?

[Amy]

Do you think that could be the.

[Bobby Bones]

I don't sleep either way.

[Amy]

Okay.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, it's not that. No, this is just not getting enough sleep. This is not allergy.

[Amy]

Okay.

[Bobby Bones]

But because I have this even when I'm getting my shots. I just looked at my calendar. It was like, don't forget your allergy shot. And I was like, oh, crap. I forgot that since December 21st. And now I don't want to go back because it's like, where you been?

[Amy]

Well, that's okay. They're used to people coming and going.

[Bobby Bones]

But then is it like, have I not done it so long I have to start all the way over? Because it is a slow build. Because they just put more and more in you over time. So you have so much of the allergen in you that you're not allergic to it anymore.

[Amy]

Well, go now. So don't get so far.

[Bobby Bones]

I'm going to be embarrassed. Got to face it, man.

[Amy]

Yeah, I'm embarrassed. Buffalo.

They go into the storm because right now you're being the cow and you're turning away. So you're going to end up with these issues for longer than if you would just go deal with it now.

Call me a cow. What if I never deal with it, though? There could never be a storm.

No, no, no. Cows, when they sense the storm coming, they turn around and walk away from the storm thinking they're going to get out of. They're going to avoid it, but the storm catches up with them.

I think you're missing the point. I could never go back. The storm may never hit me.

[Amy]

But you're gonna deal with the allergies. That's the storm.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, possibly on that one. But yeah. I don't wanna go back and start over. I've been going for like six months every week.

[Amy]

I know.

[Bobby Bones]

So, like, I just forgot. I didn't even dislike going and it's near my house. I just remembered, oh, I should get my allergy shot. And then I was embarrassed I didn't go. We talked on the show last week about if we could create a national holiday that people had to celebrate. And we came up with ours. Mine was, you had to Celebrate left Handed people. Was yours like ADD People or something? I don't know. Adopted parents.

[Amy]

Adopted parents. Eddie and I are going on a retreat vacation.

[Bobby Bones]

And so we did all these and people were like, there's already Left Handers Day. There's already Adopted Parents Day. No, those are dumb days that people just make up and say, today's National Bounce on your foot Day. Today's Snickers Bar Day. Those aren't national holidays. This is a holiday people would get off work for and have to celebrate like. Like 4th of July. Like Christmas or Thanksgiving.

Right.

[Bobby Bones]

Not just the Labor Day, Memorial Day National. And more people like, hey, idiot, there's already Left Handers Day. Hey, all you idiots. Those aren't national holidays. I could just declare today Right Shoe Day, and it's Right Shoe Day in the way that Left Hander Day already exists. Does that make sense? Yeah. I've been holding onto that for like, five days.

He stays up late at night playing first person shooter games with his headset on. Our parents were kind enough to let him move back home, but now he spends more time than ever gaming all day, all night. My parents don't know what to do. I've tried to talk him out of it, but he insists he doesn't have a problem with playing it. How can we help someone who doesn't want to be helped? Signed sister of a gaming addict. Well, if we're talking about just the addiction part of it, if he does have a gaming addiction, if he does not want to be helped, you will not help him. You can say to him, I am here for you. And now, man, gaming just feels different than drugs. I'll be honest with you. It does. It does.

[Amy]

Yeah. But it's, it's impacting his life.

[Bobby Bones]

Sure, Absolutely. But I'm saying, like all the addiction issues that I had in my family, it was, hey, things are going to get really bad, physically get bad. I'm going to be here for you. I know you don't want to do it, so I'm just going to be here with this. Like he's, he's playing Call of Duty. And yes, it's affecting his life, but it's like, dude, first of all, I think you can have a uncomfortable conversation. You're his brother. Look what this has done. Because he's not under the influence of something. My struggle was having conversations with somebody while they were under the influence because they're not listening and reacting the same because they're under the influence, they're on drugs or alcohol. When he doesn't have his headset on, he's not under the influence. So you have to have that brother conversation of, look at this. A plus B equals C. A is you playing games. B is you not Going to work. C is now you're living at home.

[Amy]

Oh, so the parents are enabling, by the way, for sure. Yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

Probably because they feel guilty that he's lost his job. You have to have that conversation, but you can't keep beating that drum. It's mostly a check in conversation every three months of like, I'm your brother, I love you, but this is what's happening.

[Amy]

Do they have some sort of treatment for gaming?

[Bobby Bones]

I think they have treatment for everything at this point.

[Amy]

Yeah. So do an intervention.

[Bobby Bones]

He is not going to accept help unless he wants help. It's just weird to say that about gaming. But you cannot help someone who doesn't want to be helped when it comes to addiction, period. You can have conversations with them. You can let them know you'll be there if things get bad. You can tell them what's going to happen, but unless they want it, they're not going to change. And almost all times they have to hit whatever rock bottom is. And so when people are enabling them, it keeps them from hitting rock bottom. And that's a conversation with your parents too. I think you can have a conversation with your parents to go, you're allowing him to stay here and not pay rent. Why would he change his ways if you're allowing it? They're not doing it for any other reason than love. But sometimes love can be given without the understanding of what that love is actually doing, which is allowing someone to regress. So have a hard conversation when the headset's not on. Tell him you're there for him, but tell him he's got to shape up and then just wait. That's it. You could, like, burn his game and stuff. He'll just buy another one somehow. He'll break into houses and steal stuff to buy games. I mean, that's it. That's a tough one. It's funny because it's video games, but it's not funny because someone is, like, spiraling downhill because of it. Yeah, there you go. Thank you for emailing the show. Close it up. At least he's thinking that it was Lunchbox. Like he texted me and all it said is, I'm pretty sure I was in line with Lunchbox at Chick Fil a today. Never seen him in real life. So then I said, yeah, it could have been him. What did he look like he. My pastor. He's wearing a hoodie. He's shorter than I imagined he'd be and doesn't look like a celebrity.

Were you at Chick Fil A by any chance?

[Lunchbox]

Did I go to Chick Fil A?

[Amy]

Oh, you know, the one where you don't sit down. He said the one downtown where there's no.

[Lunchbox]

Oh, yeah, yeah, I did go to that.

[Bobby Bones]

What do you have to say?

[Lunchbox]

I don't understand what he says. Tall? Shorter than he thought. What do you think I was 6 5? I mean, I'm 5 11. It's not like I'm a short dude.

[Amy]

Well, Also, my pastor's 6:3, so probably is.

[Bobby Bones]

He's still a small guy. To him.

[Amy]

He. Yeah, So I think that's probably why he felt that way. But I think he did assume lunchbox is bigger.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, he has a big voice. A lot of people think he's a large man.

[Lunchbox]

Yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

Not.

[Lunchbox]

But I've never claimed to be anything more than five eleven and a half.

[Bobby Bones]

Well, you just went up half an inch.

[Amy]

You have a 5 11. Divine.

And then what about the last line? He didn't look famous at all.

Wearing a hoodie, shorter than I imagined, and doesn't look like a celebrity.

Hold on, hold on, hold on. Didn't look like a celebrity, but he recognized me because I am a celebrity. If I didn't look like a celebrity, he wouldn't have recognized me. So he is an absolute hypocrite. So he needs to go to confessional and be like, so, Father, I have sinned. I lied and said, oh, this guy doesn't look like a celebrity, but I recognize him because he is a celebrity.

[Bobby Bones]

Duh. What if you recognize your mailman?

[Lunchbox]

Okay, then you recognize your mailman. But he said, oh, I saw him, but he didn't look like a celebrity. But I recognize him because he is a celebrity. If I was.

[Bobby Bones]

I don't think he thinks you're a celebrity.

[Lunchbox]

He absolutely does, or else he wouldn't recognize me.

[Bobby Bones]

He knows Amy and he.

He doesn't know me. I've never met the guy.

But obviously I didn't because he was like, dang, I saw a celebrity. He immediately texted you that he saw me?

No, I think he was so.

He was like, oh my goodness, that's so cool.

Like, I saw your friend and co worker.

Yeah, when I see your like friend or co worker, I don't say, hey, man, I saw your friend or co worker. Like, I saw a celebrity.

Weird.

That would be weird.

It's a bizarre conversation.

And I dress like, I dress. I dress like a celebrity. I mean, you look at Justin Bieber, he looks homeless.

You don't look like Justin Bieber. You do look homeless, but you don't look like Justin Bieber's homeless as well. You like nothing like Justin.

A big old hoodie, a beanie, and.

I mean he wears like designer. I would say fashion forward hoodies and beanies is too big.

I think enjoying a horoscope's fine. I'm an Aries. Look at that. Move on with my life. For people who hardcore believe this stuff, they're out of their mind. Like, I really believe if that is your thing, like, oh, this star, if it's not in retrograde with Jupiter and the three time, you're out of your mind, there's no scientific evidence. If you just want to enjoy it, no problem. Love it, have fun. But I mentioned something called a blood moon and Amy jumped all on it. I don't even know what a blood moon is.

[Amy]

Well, it's when it's red colored, it looks like blood, but it's when the earth is between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun's light, which casts the shadow down on the moon.

[Bobby Bones]

Why does a blood moon matter?

[Amy]

Well, there's just activities we can do during the blood moon.

[Bobby Bones]

We can't do them when it's not a Blood moon?

[Amy]

Well, there's common practices that people do during a blood moon. I mean, I'm sure you could do these anytime, but astrology people? I think so.

[Bobby Bones]

Okay, go ahead.

[Amy]

I think astrology.

[Bobby Bones]

Amy, you're kind of an astrology person, but go ahead.

[Amy]

No, but I just like doing these little activities that can't hurt. Like, it could be fun. Okay. We could all get together and write things down and release them in water.

[Bobby Bones]

Okay. If we do this during a blood moon, it's impactful, yes. Or are you just making something up to get us all over your house because you're lonely?

[Amy]

No, I'm not lonely at all. But I just think it'd be a fun group activity. I did this before on my birthday. I had some girlfriends over. We wrote our intentions, then we went and dropped them in the hot tub.

[Bobby Bones]

In the hot tub?

[Amy]

Well, that was the only body of water, so.

[Bobby Bones]

Okay, so we. During a blood moon, it's impactful if we write these things down. And then do what with them?

[Amy]

We release them in the water. Okay. We need to take time to clearly write down what we wish to release. We need to be as specific as possible.

[Bobby Bones]

When's the blood moon? Does it have a date on there?

[Amy]

Let me. Let me get the date for you. Okay.

[Bobby Bones]

Okay.

[Amy]

After we write down our attentions, we burn the paper in a safe container and we can scatter the ashes in a flowing body of water, like a river or an ocean or hot tub or bathtub or a sink full of water. Whatever works.

[Bobby Bones]

March 14th.

[Amy]

Okay, so it's coming up.

[Bobby Bones]

So what are we writing down?

[Amy]

What do you want to release?

[Bobby Bones]

Why don't we just do in the studio one morning? What's the difference?

[Amy]

Do you have any burdens?

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, I'm looking at about four of them right now in the studio.

[Amy]

Negative energy. Things you need to let go of.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, I got a lot of those past burdens. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[Amy]

Current, whatever. And then before releasing your intentions, take time to meditate or reflect on the emotions and experiences that you want to let let go of. This could be a team building activity for us. Who cares if it's real or not? It's just fun.

[Bobby Bones]

We'll do it on the show then. March 14, like the day of the blood moon.

[Amy]

Have y'all ever written something down and then put it in the fireplace?

[Bobby Bones]

No.

[Amy]

Or just gotten a match and burnt it?

[Bobby Bones]

No, it just. We've also never walked into the pool fully clothed.

Well, that was a different time in my life. There was a lot going on and that Was stressful, but I just think it's symbolic of releasing something.

[Bobby Bones]

Would you make a note for the calendar? March 14? We will do that activity here on the show. We're gonna write our burdens down. Yeah. We'll microwave some water. We'll write our burdens down. Or whatever Amy says. We'll put it in there. Okay. That way, Amy gets a little win, and I get a little win because I don't believe in.

Yeah, we don't have to. We shouldn't. If we don't want to play with fire in here, we don't have to burn anything. We can just simply place the written intentions in a bowl of water, and then we take the water outside and pour it out into the ground.

[Bobby Bones]

All right, I'm out. It's time for the good news with Amy. Tell me something good.

[Amy]

So Mackenzie Scott, she's 20 years old in Arkansas at a nail salon getting her nails done, and she notices a mom there with her baby. But the baby is really, really fussy, so the mom can't really enjoy her appointment. So Mackenzie's done with her nails and offers to go over and hold the baby. The mom was like, oh, I don't know. I don't want to give my baby over to a stranger.

[Bobby Bones]

Stranger danger, Right?

[Amy]

But then she decided, you know what? This woman's going to be sitting right here with me. Hands her baby over, and the baby instantly stops crying. So Mackenzie holds the baby for, like, 45 minutes so the mom can finish her appointment and just relax. It turns out she's a single mom, doesn't have a strong support system, and she ended up taking a video of Mackenzie holding her baby and found her on social media later that night, posted the video. It went viral. Like, 10 million views, thousands of comments, and they've stayed in touch on socials, and Mackenzie even offered to babysit anytime. This mom needs extra help again, since she doesn't have a strong support system.

[Bobby Bones]

That's pretty cool. She's, like, doing either 45 minutes. A long time. That's a long, long time.

[Amy]

I know, but she was enjoying holding the baby, and it just. She just realized, like, oh, this mom really needed this. This nail appointment, this break, like, a little me time. And she was able to be a part of helping her out with that.

[Bobby Bones]

Maybe if you get your toes done, you hold the baby.

[Amy]

Yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

Be hard if you're getting your hard.

[Amy]

Or. I'm sure she kind of booked the appointment, was hoping her baby would sleep through it, but just wasn't working out that way.

Now it's time for learning time with me, Dr. Bones. You guys have chosen to hear about the great Molasses flood of Boston, Massachusetts. The year was 1919, by the way. Eddie didn't know what molasses was, so I have the definition. It's a thick, dark, syrupy liquid. To me, I think a molasses is just sir like thicker syrup, but it's using a whole lot of stuff.

[Amy]

Yeah, I think that maple syrup comes from a tree and then molasses comes from like sugar cane or something.

[Bobby Bones]

That's exactly right.

[Amy]

Okay.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah, good for you. How'd you know that?

[Amy]

Well, I had to look it up.

[Bobby Bones]

Oh, well, there you go. So did I. That's right. Thank you for being honest.

[Amy]

You're welcome.

[Bobby Bones]

So the the gray molasses flood. A giant 50 foot tall molasses storage tank held over 2.3 million gallons of molasses burst.

[Amy]

No.

[Bobby Bones]

At 12:40pm right after lunchtime, witnesses described hearing a loud roar or explosion before the tank gave way. A 25 foot high wave of molasses. That is so tall. That's four me's. Whoa.

[Amy]

That is a sticky situation.

[Bobby Bones]

Okay. Moving at an estimated 35 miles an hour. Rushed through the streets, smashing buildings, knocking over freight cars, trapping people and animals inside. Its thickness from this 25 foot high wave of molasses, 21 people died. Well, yeah, we're laughing, but this is real sticky stuff.

[Amy]

Going, I didn't know anybody died.

[Bobby Bones]

Well, I hadn't got to that part yet.

[Amy]

Oh my gosh, this is tragic.

[Bobby Bones]

150 people were injured. Several buildings were demolished. Rescue efforts were slow and difficult because the molasses was so thick that people and horses became trapped and some of the animals suffocated because again, the molasses was so thick. So they've tried to figure out what exactly caused it. They think the tank had been built so poorly and it had leaked a bit of molasses from the start. But the company ignored the warnings. Some reports even said the workers were told to paint the tank brown to hide the leaks so you couldn't see the leaks because it was the same color. Shady. On the day of the disaster, a sudden rise in temperature may have caused the molasses to expand, as in a warmer day, putting too much pressure on the already weak structure. It took weeks to clean up the molasses, which stuck to everything. The United States Industrial Alcohol Company was found responsible in a lawsuit. The Great Molasses flood remains one of the strangest disasters in US history. A mix of tragedy and dark humor that fascinates people. A year later. It looks like a flood. I'm looking at pictures of it. It looks like a flood, and buildings are absolutely crushed and it's still and forever. It smelled like molasses. Like for syrup. 50 years. That's not a bad smell.

[Amy]

You know, that part could be worse. Yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

The Great molasses flood of 1919, Boston, Massachusetts. Shout out. The terror of people running away from the molasses as it's like going through the city. That's crazy. Getting stuck in it. Think about that. You're going to save people on a horse and the horse can't move.

[Amy]

No, I get a little honey stuck on my hands and I'm like, you know, it's like I can't even get. Or like the lid on my honey jar. I can't even get it off, off because it's so sticky.

[Bobby Bones]

I dropped some syrup last night on the. In the kitchen floor and I was.

[Lunchbox]

Like, what do I do?

[Bobby Bones]

It's so hard to pick up. You imagine a whole city. Yeah, I figured out I had jars out there though, if I know. Me trying to get some of that off the top, though. Some that hadn't been, you know, on the ground.

[Amy]

I think it's all contaminated at that point.

[Bobby Bones]

Nah, five second rule. It looks like an earthquake hit the city. Had you guys ever heard of the great. You felt a little smarter. Yes. All right. That is Learning time with Dr. Bones. Thank you very much. Class dismissed. I like saying that, Bones. Kristen from North Carolina, I was wondering.

Does Bobby still do the stretching that.

[Bobby Bones]

He used to do? I was just curious if you were still doing that or if you stopped and if you were still doing that. How is that going? Is it helpful? Because I try to stretch, but I don't stretch all the time daily. But I'm curious if it's worth it and if I should start trying. But then I haven't heard Bobbi talk.

[Amy]

About it in a while, so I.

[Bobby Bones]

Wanted to check in on the stretching. I still stretch every morning. I don't do, like, 25 minutes every morning, but I would say it works and knock on any sort of wood. I go pretty hard physical activities in life, and I have not been injured, like, and I go hard. So no hamstring tears, no ACL MCL injuries. But I do stretch. And I found the older I get, the more value it is.

[Amy]

I need to do it. You're reminding me. My hamstrings are so tight, and, like, I. I started to bend over the other day to stretch a little bit, and everything just started shaking.

[Bobby Bones]

Oh, that's a good sign. You should probably stretch it.

[Amy]

Yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah. Good sign to start stretching.

[Amy]

Exactly. Exactly. So I'm glad that they asked that question, because I need to. Maybe you could lead us through stretches.

Like, every day here. That's cool.

Well, I haven't talked about it today, but it hasn't been up over 3.1% because I'm watching it every day. They did list the cities that it could possibly hit, but I'm telling you, they did an experiment once to move a meteor that was coming. Not so much to hit Earth to see if one was coming toward Earth to see if they can move it. And so they shot whatever this thing was, and they were able to hit the meteor and throw it slightly off course, which slightly off course is a long ways. So it gives me a little hope that if the thing is going to hit Earth. I watched Neil Degrasse Tyson talk about this whole thing that Armageddon will save us.

[Amy]

This makes me think of paradise.

[Bobby Bones]

I wouldn't say much more.

You can't talk about that because no one knows about that part. Oh, I don't even know what to.

What was crazy, too, is snowy and icy. We were worried that he was gonna fall on the ice. He's 84.

Oh, gosh. He does not look 84.

[Bobby Bones]

He doesn't. He doesn't sound. Doesn't seem 84. But we were like, what if a beetle breaks his hip coming into my house? So we got him through. We got him through. He was awesome. He was so nice. And at the end of the interview, which we'll play this now, Ringo said it ranked as one of his best interviews ever.

[Raymundo]

This has been the best.

[Bobby Bones]

You're saying that ever? No, look me in the eye.

[Raymundo]

Look me. Best ever.

[Bobby Bones]

Don't say ever, because then I know you're lying. But if you were to say in nationally, the best. Okay, I'll take it. So this is a. Just a slight, a little dinkle of my talk with Ringo Starr from the Beatles. And we talk about, like, them opening for people. The Beatles, like, playing. He played in a band for 12 hours in the daytime and then would play with the Beatles. Wait for six hours and six hours.

[Amy]

Wow.

[Bobby Bones]

He played with his own band. Then he jumped over to the Beatles and played for six hours. Played for 12 hours a day. So here is part of it. The whole thing is on the Bobbycast, the podcast. But here's my talk with Ringo Starr. Ringo, good to see you. Nice to meet you. Pretty exciting here.

[Raymundo]

Yeah, thanks, Bob.

[Bobby Bones]

Did you guys ever open for anyone early on?

[Raymundo]

Oh, yeah, We. We opened for Roy Orbison. We opened for a lot of people. And in fact, the first tour we did was in England. This is all in England. And we had three numbers at the beginning. The curtains opened. We did three numbers. And that's how we, to us, was a step up from clubs to theaters. And then we kept doing that, and we'd have Trini Lopez. And Roy was great. Roy was the hardest act we ever had to follow.

[Bobby Bones]

Why is that?

[Raymundo]

Because he's great. He would just stand there with those shades on and not a lot of movement, but all coming out. And so we would be behind the curtain. We're next on. We'd be playing on the guitars, little hints of our songs while he was on. But then we. We closed the first half. We'd moved up, and then we closed the show.

[Bobby Bones]

Do you still enjoy playing? I love playing Is that still.

[Raymundo]

No, I love playing. I love. I'm in a band. I'm in the band and like with the All Stars. Yeah, it's Ringo and the All Stars, but I play everybody else's songs.

[Bobby Bones]

I feel like when this record, it's so naturally you and I think that speaks to both T Bone and.

[Raymundo]

No, it's absolutely speaks to T Bone.

[Bobby Bones]

But also it is.

[Raymundo]

I know, but I am you.

[Bobby Bones]

Right.

[Raymundo]

But he put me together in a great space, so.

[Bobby Bones]

And I think my point is it didn't feel like you were doing anything unnatural at all.

[Raymundo]

Well, that's what he figured out. He. He pointed that out to me and I loved they say. Well, you know, what about the song? I said every song was in my.

[Bobby Bones]

Key as far as the sounds of the record. I love the keys.

[Raymundo]

Get the keys in my key.

[Bobby Bones]

I love the. The whistle.

[Raymundo]

Oh, yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

There's just the sound of the record sounds so organically you. While still sounding like a country record, but not like you're trying to do a country record. It is. It's the perfect balance. Yeah.

[Raymundo]

You know, I'm the whistler.

[Bobby Bones]

No, I didn't know that. Are you a good whistler? I.

[Raymundo]

Well, I'm on the record.

[Bobby Bones]

Well, but you got to put yourself on the record, though. I mean, it sounds great, but can you. Are you a good whistler in general?

[Raymundo]

I was and then I had some dental work and the mouth is moving. I've got to train myself.

[Bobby Bones]

That's pretty good, though. That's still good.

[Raymundo]

No, but. No, that's not.

[Bobby Bones]

No, that's me, the record.

[Raymundo]

See, that's still a plus. What was your job in the factory?

[Raymundo]

My job was to be an apprentice engineer. I first I worked on the railways as a delivery kid boy. I was 16. And then I was on the coastal boats, party boats. And I lasted five weeks on the railway, five weeks on the boats. And then my mom, you know, oh, I've been fired. And by Monday she'd have me in a new job and she got me this job in the factory. But while in that factory, that's when it came. I want to play. I want to play. I changed my name fully to Ringo. Then in Liverpool, if you do something, you know, if you're limping, you'd probably be called Limpy. But I started wearing rings at first. And so some people were starting to say, hey, rings, what's going on? You know, like. And I put like, Ringo Starkey. I thought that Starkey doesn't look you know, didn't look right. So I put Ringo star.

[Bobby Bones]

Did you do two Rs?

[Raymundo]

The first time you have two Rs to make it star. And. And it's been that ever since. Bar for the family who call me dad or granddad.

[Bobby Bones]

My final question, playing in the clubs. And a lot of artists miss out on that now and they kind of get famous before they're ready. And they're not able to develop even as a performer. Right. Because they don't do the clubs, their own clubs. They got so famous so fast. You know, the kind of the legendary story about you guys is you'd be in a club in Germany and play for like six hours a night. Is that accurate?

[Raymundo]

Two. Two bands.

[Bobby Bones]

Okay.

[Raymundo]

When I was there with Rory and the Beatles were there. We're on separate clubs at the beginning. Then Kashmir, the guy owned the clubs. Put us both on one club and we would battle each other for the audience, you know what I mean? Would stomp in and stuff and. But at weekends we did 12 hours between us and you know, I love it because we're in that book, 10,000 hours.

[Bobby Bones]

Yeah.

[Raymundo]

And they actually mentioned we actually put in our 10,000 hours.

[Bobby Bones]

I think that's where I first knew of the story, reading that book.

[Raymundo]

Yeah.

[Bobby Bones]

That you had put in that time.

[Raymundo]

We'd play anywhere. And Saturday night in Liverpool, whatever the gig was, one of the clubs would have an all nighter. And they were so cheap, they'd only ever hire a trio to cost them less. And all. All of us would go to these clubs and just play all night. Any chance we had to play, we would play.

[Bobby Bones]

Well, I love the album.
