So they. They keep. They cook with it and then they put it back into a container and keep cooking with it. Because my dad would do that with bacon grease.

I would think. You know how they fry french fries in a deep fryer and that oil just stays in the deep fryer?

At the Fried Chicken Grand Prix. The owner gave an interview which he revealed that the secret to the restaurant's success was that 66 years ago, they started and they haven't changed the frying oil. So that's what's up.

[Eddie]

There's gotta be health issues there.

[Brandon Ray]

Apparently, since the shop's founding in 1960, the Frying Oil has never been completely discarded.

[Bobby Bones]

So I guess I'm wondering when it's brought to a boil. I mean, it can kill anything because it's. It's such a high temperature. Right. But that kills off any. It's cooking the chicken. So therefore anything bad is cooked.

[Eddie]

Yeah, because, like, every year I buy peanut oil for. To fry a turkey and I try to save it for the whole year. So, like, I can just cook with peanut oil for the rest of the year. But then after a while, I'm just like, man, I don't know. This touched a turkey, like, back in November. It doesn't feel safe.

[Brandon Ray]

Every night, the restaurant staff carefully filters out meat scraps and impurities from the oil, and they retain some of the oil and they do add new to it because some of it just naturally evaporates. Evaporates.

[Bobby Bones]

So, okay, so there's always just been a little bit sort of like these sourdough starters that are 150 years old.

[Brandon Ray]

I was thinking Olympic torch.

[Eddie]

Interesting. Two different examples. Yeah. Polar opposite.

[Brandon Ray]

Yeah. Oddity central. I don't know how odd that actually was.

[Eddie]

It sounds odd. I would like to hear from, like, an expert or, like a health official, be like, no, it's safe. Because, like, I've just. It just doesn't sound like it's safe.

It's a restaurant, so I think a health official has to say it's safe

[Mike D]

or they don't get to keep being a restaurant.

Yeah.

All right, I'm gonna keep my peanut oil, dude. Because that is like $50 for a jug. No, no, more expensive. Actually, I think it's more expensive because I did and I feel like it goes up every single time I go buy one.

No, that's barbecue pits.

What? Not don't clean it. Yeah, yeah, I don't clean my pit. That's why when Amy tried my salsa, it tasted like brisket because I had just smoked a brisket in it.

That was devastating.

Because his salsa is so good. But when you're expecting, hey, you know, salsa, tomato, you're not expect.

Sometimes you have to experiment, you know, and that one just didn't work.

I mean, that could be a happy accident where if it tasted really amazing, you could be like, wow, this is epic. This is gonna change the salsa game. But it was not like, what's that?

Viagra. Happy accident.

Exactly. That wasn't this.

He's trying to keep himself so young.

Yes. Okay, so I saw him talking about this study that was done where we think taking a 30 minute walk is good, right? It was.

He's not saying that it's bad, but research showed that if you were to stand up and do 10 squats every 45 minutes, it's way more effective for like your blood sugar, just your overall well being. And so I thought that that was really interesting. Now then some people in the comments started doing the math of like, okay, a 30 minute walk versus if you were to stand up every hour of the day and do 10 squats, you

would never do that.

Well, why?

Well, you're not going to remember.

And also you have to sleep.

Oh, I think it was just during the. We'll call it an eight hour. The working day.

I think I'd rather go on a

Yeah, it's like. And there's all these modalities there. Like, she flew down to Miami. I think it was like, yeah, I looked it up. Cause she was like, you should come. And I went to, like, don't Die dot com. And that was how you registered. I was like, I think I'm good.

I just picture this guy having a

room in his house where he sneaks off and, like, eats cupcakes and smokes cigarettes,

you know?

Cause his whole thing is famous. He makes a ton of money off of being the guy that's trying to reverse aging. I know him from that.

He had a Netflix show.

He was on the Kardashians, all of this.

Like, he's so famous from it.

So I picture anybody that's in anything

performative for that to be the performative

part of their life, like, a little bit, you got a cheat day.

But, God, do you think he. Yeah, you're right. Do you think he does.

Do you think he sneaks off and eats donuts?

I don't know, but yeah, of course. I think there's probably something. Then you have to weigh, like, is it worth taking your whole life and living so regimented if it makes you miserable? Living regimented, if you love it, no different. But you're keeping yourself from parts of

life that are considered living to live longer, not living. So that's the give.

Take. Now, if he loves this and this

is what fulfills him, I totally understand.

Also, it funds him for sure, because he's rich from it.

So that's why I would understand, like, he pops to the back, has some pork rinds, smokes a cigarette.

Yeah.

Lights up a cigarette, has a day

where he lays around and does nothing. Yeah.

He's on a glp.

So, I mean, I'm sure he is on a lot of different peptides or something. Yeah, I would guess.

I'm sure he is too, but I don't know that for sure. But I would assume he is.

I would assume he falls under that category. And I can't.

He's estimated worth $400 million.

Dang.

Wait, that's from this lifestyle or did he have some sort of a. Like from this being his brand and making money off of this? Or is he some like weird tech guy before?

Highly.

Well, I think he had to have money to even do this first. But he's made a lot more money since.

Yeah. Because the type of lifestyle he lives, you have to have money. Because to your point, Bobby, like you were saying, like, he, he doesn't live a normal. Like a lot of us couldn't function that way. Like his sleep hygiene has to be so perfect and most of us have lies.

He's $2 million a year now on

[Brandon Ray]

his radical science backed anti aging and health optimism routine.

He sold a company and made a bunch of money, which is why he was even able to do this. But he's also made a ton of money since because he's the guy that does this.

It's his brand.

So at some point I just picture him kind of dodgeball where at the end, where Ben Stiller's character, oh yes, it's after the credits and he's gained like 300 pounds and he's just eating pie, watching TV because forever he had been the leader of the gym. He's ripped. Globo Gym, Globo Gym. And at the end he's ah, I

think you're right too, Bobby, in that like you have to weigh quality of life. Like if this truly makes him happy or stuff like this makes you happy. But sometimes, and I'm guilty of this too, like I get wrapped up in, in something for my overall health and well being. But then I'm sacrificing other things that might bring me joy and I have to bring it back in. Like the pendulum kind of swings when you learn something new and you're like, oh, I need to get this much sleep or I need to go to bed at this time I need to be doing this. But I'm missing out on a late night movie or TV show with my kids, like spontaneous fun or a margarita with my friends.

He might love this though.

[Mike D]

And so that's why I'm not completely right.

[Bobby Bones]

Right. That this might bring him joy. But I think for us that follow anything like this, or if it pops up in our algorithm, we're like, oh, Maybe I need to try this because, yeah, I want to live a long time, but at what? Like, do I want to miss out on Eddie salsa?

He's the bearded woman to me.

What do you mean?

I'm just kind of in shock. Is it even real? That's crazy.

14 times a day feels a little much. That's harder than long.

I still enjoy my walks, but. Yeah, but why not just 10? 10 squats is all it takes. And you're. You've. We've talked about this before. Like, your quads and your butt. Those are the biggest muscles. So we need to.

I feel like it would be to me, like, drinking a lot of water was. And I'd walk around with a jug for a minute, be really into it for, like, four days, and you just kind of forget and. Oh, didn't. Since I didn't do it that time, I won't do it this hour.

Where's Eddie's jug?

[Eddie]

I'm still doing that right here. I'm still. I don't think I do a gallon. I probably do about two.

[Mike D]

That's not a gallon.

That's like a gallon smaller.

Shrinking. Every week you come in, same one,

and if you guys listen. I said three of these was a gallon.

I'd say I'm probably about 2.

That's basically a pill cap full of water. That's what that looks like.

easy, though, not to fill it up if you don't drink at all.

Yeah. I mean, the gallon is just excessive, man.

Yeah, but that's the point. Drinking that much water is excessive, and the gallon is to remind you to drink it all more than having to fill something up because you could easily go, I'm not going to fill it up this time.

But my body's not telling me it needs more, like, at the end of the day, you know? So that makes me feel like I'm kind of doing it.

[Mike D]

I hate drinking water.

Yeah, you're good at it, though.

Not really. I mean, I struggle.

I don't drink any before I come in because I don't want to have

to get up and pee during the show. But I try to catch up all during the rest of the day. But when I come in, I'm on.

I start drinking, but I don't drink before the show.

Are you done? Done with dairy? Like. Like a donut? Are you done for the rest of your life? Never going to have a donut.

The donuts have.

It's not worth it to me to be sick. What I will weigh is how good

will this donut taste for 53 seconds

as I eat it versus the next six hours when I can't leave the bathroom. It's fun to eat a donut, but it's way worse than it is fun to be tethered to a bathroom for six hours. So am I done?

No, but probably because I have that

discussion with myself every time there's something really good that I could just nibble on. It takes just a fragment of dairy now because I'm so clean to rip

me and I can't leave the house.

What causes us to. I mean, I know we're constantly. Our body is changing and we're not. You know, our body's not the same as it was seven years ago, but, like, you used to be able to eat that stuff. And I get. This happens to all of us. Like, what makes us intolerant to.

[Brandon Ray]

I wasn't ever supposed to eat the stuff. I always had stomach issues because I kept it constant.

[Mike D]

I didn't freak out as much. Like, if you do nothing and then you do a little after nothing, your

body reacts like, oh, my God.

[Mike D]

I was constantly just injecting myself with dairy. Like, I L. So my stomach just always hurt. Always.

[Bobby Bones]

And that was your baseline?

[Mike D]

Yep.

Okay, that makes sense because. Yeah, it wasn't a. And then I guess as we get older, things get worse too.

[Brandon Ray]

So here's that Bones. Hey everybody. Welcome to another episode of in the Weeds. Questions that I didn't think anyone would care about. We'll start with this one. What sports team do you think Billy will like the most Billy is my young three month old daughter. And what's funny is I have always felt that I'm going to make sure to raise her an Arkansas Razorback fan. Die hard Razorback fan. My wife, diehard Oklahoma Sooner fan. So I thought that would often be the argument. And people did get us a couple gifts of like onesies that were like house divided and it's like 1/2 sooner, 1/2 Razorback. But I was talking to my wife the other day and she said I don't think she's going to be a Razorback fan or a Sooner fan. And I was like, what? She lives in Tennessee. She's going to end up being a Vol fan. No way. I can never let that happen. But I thought about it. If you grow up and everybody's a Tennessee Volunteer fan around you, like all of your friends, and I'm assuming she's going to have friends, if she's anything like her mom, she'll have friends. You probably, that's probably part of the community. I don't know if I can take that. I was really having trouble thinking she would be a Sooner, but I've come to terms and I don't hate the Oklahoma Sooners because that is my wife and her family's team. But for my child to possibly be a Tennessee Volunteer fan from someone from Arkansas, that's crazy. That's like being an Al Qaeda fan. And even worse than that would be a Texas fan, but so I'm hoping Arkansas what's going to happen is whomever she has the most fun watching growing up, meaning whatever teams win. But also I'm assuming she's going to like sports and that's not fair to me. But I did think that conversation with my wife was interesting and people ask that a lot, like who's the baby going to like Oklahoma or Arkansas? Well, it might be Tennessee and I think that kind of sucks. But I do understand that. Another question, how much do you make off social media? I definitely don't mind answering this. And it's probably not near as much as you think because what's weird about social media is Instagram. For example, I could put a video up that gets 3,4 million views, which is a big one. That's pretty much a viral video. No money. Instagram does not pay for videos, so that kind of sucks. If I put up a picture and it gets a ton of views and a ton of engagement and then you might make like 30 or 40 bucks on a decent one. So I don't put up that many pictures. So you're talking about so little that it could be 300 bucks a month. That would possibly be like a good month on Instagram. But it's so insignificant in that money that I just put it back into the social media. Meaning if I have a post that's really doing well, whatever money I'm making, I just hit boost post and use that money to still kind of grow social media. What hurt me was I was getting close to 1.3 million followers on Instagram. I have 1.2 million, and I've had it for a while. And Instagram's been hard to grow on, just generally speaking. And I was getting real close. And then they had that bot cleaning where you saw, like all the celebrities. Taylor Swift lost millions and Selena Gomez lost millions. And it's not paid bots. These aren't people buying followers. It's that whenever a bot is created for whatever reason, they have to go and follow people, or Instagram doesn't think they're real, so they just start following folks. So I lost about 10,000 of those in the great bot clean of 2026. And so I'm still trying to hit 1.3 million on Instagram. Took a half step back, but I didn't buy them. But that kind of sucked. So probably 300 bucks a month on Instagram. Max TikTok. $0.00. I don't make any money on TikTok. I got into the TikTok program for. It was a creator fund. And I don't know that it's true, but it felt like they were suppressing the videos. Like, as soon as you could start to make money, they started suppressing the videos. Like you really had to extra perform to make any money. So I got out of that because again, I'm not. I don't do social media to make money. I do it to kind of promote the show or the shows that we're doing. YouTube a little more. But again, so little that let's say it's 500 bucks a month. It'd be the one that I would make the most off of now from. From this channel, the Bobby Bone show channel. Money. I don't even get that money that, like I said, I don't own the Bobby Bone Show. I own a small part of it, but it goes all through the company. And then after everything is divvied up, like, I get a piece, a small piece on this page. Let's just say it's 500 bucks a month. All that goes back into the page. Like, I don't get any money. I just put it back into if a video is doing really well or I want an interview to be seen by a lot of people. Like, I get the game, so I just put it back in. I'm really not on anything else. Twitter, I think Twitter, like robs me at night. Like somehow walk down the alley. Twitter somehow jumps me and robs me of money. I don't put any money into that thing. That's crazy. I do pay the three or four bucks a month just so I have a check mark, but as far as on social media, I don't make any money. Now, I'm not asking you to feel sorry for me or to hit up my Venmo, but people think that I'm making tons of money off social media because I have millions of followers. I actually profit $0 and $0 off of social media, but I can see where people would think otherwise. These questions are so in the weeds, which, if this is your first time watching this, I started this series four or five episodes ago just answering questions that were so inside that I didn't think anybody would want to know the answer to them. Like, you have to be like a hardcore follower of the show or the podcast. And this show's doing well. So I really appreciate you guys streaming it and putting comments down in the comment section and putting questions down in the comment section because these videos have been popping a little bit and I don't know why. So I'll keep answering these questions that I think are boring to everybody not in the business, and we'll go from there. What's the best show of all your shows to be on? So I think that's a really good question. I think the two biggest shows would be the Bobby Bones show and the Bobby cast. And I think for different reasons, there's significance broadcast wise. And we still have a massive broadcast show, meaning a live show. The Bobby Bones show brings still serious heat, big numbers, and so there's really something to being on the broadcast part of it. Our podcast for the Bobby Bones show is so massive that I think that even if we weren't a broadcast radio show and we just did the podcast, it would be one of the top 50 podcasts. Like, it's that big. We don't really get talked about like that because the radio show is always what we're known for, but our podcast is so big. So the Bobby Bones show is big, but I'm gonna say I think the Bobbycast is bigger. Here's why. If you come on the Bobbycast which is my interview show, and you crush and you do a great episode. I take a couple different clips. It's even more than a clip because a clip's 90 seconds. I take three and four minute segments, sometimes a couple, and I put them on the Bobby Bones Show. So not only are you getting on Netflix, on YouTube, on the BobbyKast podcast feed, which behind the Bobby Bones show feed, is probably the second biggest country music podcast in general, and you get on the Bobby Bone Show. I just think the Bobby cast is a harder get. It's harder to get on that show, meaning some artists will come and do the Bobby Bones show. And that's awesome because we don't take a lot of guests there. We really don't take a lot of guests. But if you can get on the Bobbycast, you get on the Bobbycast and Netflix and the show and everything else. So I think if you can get on the Bobby cast, that's the best show to be on because it goes more places, more eyes and ears will get it. It's taken a while to get that way, but yeah, that's what I would say. That's a good question, though. I never really thought about it like that. Here's another one. How did the Bobbycast get named? I wish I wouldn't have named it the Bobbycast. We started doing that podcast ten years ago this year and at a very small bedroom in a condo in downtown Nashville. Now, when I moved to Nashville, I had had some security issues at my last place, which was in Austin. Love Austin, Texas. It is the absolute greatest city. But the show was starting to pop a little bit, and with success, more eyeballs. And with more eyeballs, you just have more crazy people. It's not even that people were getting crazier.

It was just.

[Mike D]

It's a Numbers game. If 10 people know you, maybe one's crazy. If 10,000 people know you, there's probably gonna be a thousand, well, a hundred people that are crazy, Right? So was having some security issues in Austin because the show was doing well. Didn't have any sort of security gate. No. No security person. I got jumped outside of work, I got held at gunpoint. I got my house broken into, had all these things happening. So when I moved here, it was recommended to me to find a property that was gated. The company said it would make them feel better. Because of the success of the show and because of the profile of what was going to happen with the show, they wanted me to live in either a gated house or gated community. Which felt weird because I never lived behind any sort of gate before. And so I lived in this place down in Brentwood, which is like 25, 30 minutes from here, called the Governor's Club. And it's fancy. I know I had one of the lesser fancy houses there, but it was still fancy, do not get me wrong. In the same neighborhood Carrie Underwood lived, Gary Levox lived there from Rascal Flats, lead singer.

There were those.

[Mike D]

There were a couple NFL players. And I lived on a golf course, which I thought was so cool because I was going to play golf all the time. Got a membership at this golf course, golf club. I played twice in two years because I was never home. I never played golf because I was never home and I was working my face off. But what happened? I moved before two years because probably nine houses down, a guy kills his family, kills his wife, shoots her, and has run through the neighborhood with a gun, and they can't find him. And so they, like, make everybody that's living there stay in their houses. And I remember waking up in the morning, I heard helicopters first. Before I went to bed, it was, what is happening? And my phone started to blow up going, hey, there's been some kind of shooting near you. Are you okay? I said, yeah, I'm fine. I still didn't know what it was. Turns out it was that guy had murdered his wife right down the road. And he was on the loose somewhere in the neighborhood. Well, they couldn't find him all night. And so it's butt crack o', clock, and I got to go to work. And so I'm pulling out of my garage and the cops are there going, you can't leave. What do you mean I can't leave? I gotta get to work. Yeah, but there's a guy with a gun. We don't know where he is. He just killed somebody. You're not able to leave until we find him. And I say, hey, I am. And I forget the term, but I'm like, when there are hurricanes or tornadoes or natural disasters, there are people that have to do their jobs.

And I was that.

[Mike D]

I forget what it's called. Yeah, yeah, I'm an essential worker. Yeah, that was it. Thank you. Was I really. But I'm like, I'm an essential worker. I have to leave because I have to go and do this radio show. And so they escorted me out of the gate. I go. And they end up finding that dude later on that morning, hiding in the woods. He was back there for like 14 hours or so. And I remember thinking, I'm not. I'm out of here, man. I'm not going to get trapped behind a gate. I got a gate to keep me from stuff happening. There's stuff like behind the gate. I couldn't even get out of the gate. So I got a condo in downtown Nashville because I always wanted to live downtown. I thought that was so cool. I always saw people that lived downtown. I was like, man, I want to do that. So I bought a condo. There was a tiny room in the condo, a bedroom, and Mike D. And I built a very small studio with two microphones. And I would just have songwriter guests over, and we would just talk about creating music. Big music nerd. I remember Ryan Hurd was one of my first guests. Big artist, big songwriter. Because I knew Ryan. He just came over and Caitlin Smith was one of my first guests. And we were just going to put it up as a podcast on the Bobby Bones show feed. But about that time, my CEO said, hey, you ever think about doing a network? There were no podcast networks in our company at the time. And so I was the first person to do a podcast network. And I started with that podcast, but I had to name it, and I didn't have a good name for it. And I wanted to be called, like, Songwriter Roundup, because also, I felt like my interests would dance a bit. It wouldn't always just be country music songwriters. It just wouldn't be songwriters in general. And it ended up not being. But the placeholder was. I don't know, let's just call it the Bobbycast, because for now, that's what we'll name it. God dang it. If it's still not named that 10 years later, it makes no sense. Like, it's my name, but it doesn't really say anything about the podcast. And that's the one thing I always hated about it was you would have no idea what the thing is about unless you had to click into it or read into it. And in this world that we live in, it's hard to get people to click into things. I would change the name of the podcast right now if I could. I don't have a name for it, but I would not call it the Bobbycast anymore, because what does that even mean? Nothing. So that was always a placeholder name is what was hilarious. And I would change it. If I were to change it now, I think I would change it to something more along the lines of, and this is not a title. So I'm gonna just work out a name here. Like, Things Bobby's interested in or something. That's a terrible title. But that's what it would be. That's what I would want, like, the title to be, like, what interests Boney.

That's not it either.

[Mike D]

But it would be something like that. Because, again, on the Bobbycast, we do talk a lot of music because I'm a massive music nerd. However, I had a plastic surgeon in. I have the lead singer of Bush. I have things that aren't in country music. I have a labor and delivery nurse. So to me, all this stuff interests me. So it'd be something like that. But that's where the name came from. And it's a stupid name. The same thing with Bobby Bones. My name. This thing was never supposed to last. Like, my whole career has been built on authenticity. And I have a fake, stupid name like that doesn't match. My real name is Bobby. But I'm a teenager and they're giving me a radio name. And they had to slap one on me real quick because I had to. I got called in. So I got a job working, cleaning the front lobby of a radio station and switching out a weekend countdown cd. But they fired somebody because they stole equipment for. What we did was called sound and light shows, where I used to. Everybody used to travel around in, like, DJ dances. And you had a couple little sticks and put lights on them, and the lights went and you played two CDs you didn't even mix. You just played CD fade CD. And that was called a sound and light show. Somebody stole some equipment. They fired them before my first weekend ever cleaning and switching out a cd. And so my program director named Kevin Cruz says, hey, I know we just hired you and you weren't going to be on the air, but you have to go on the air. And inside I'm thinking, this is amazing, because that was my dream. But also, I'd never been on and I didn't have a name. And he said, what is your name? And I said, I don't know. He goes, how about Bobby Bones or Bobby Z? And frankly, I hated them both. But at least Bobby Bones kind of sounded like a human. Like, maybe even a pirate. But it still sounds like a human. Bobby Z. What did that even stand for? So it was Bobby Bones. And I kept thinking, I'm going to change my name the next place I go. I hate the name Bobby Bones. Like, I hated it my whole first part of my career. Because my success came from me being as authentic as possible, not people agreeing with me, not people relating to what I Was saying, but just thinking, I think he's telling the truth. And he's pretty interesting. We like him. Sometimes we don't, but most times we do. And so in Hot Springs, I was working. It was like an hour away from my college. I was going to change it as soon as I graduated college and moved. Well, I went to little Rock, which some of that listening area was connected with the listening area from Hot Springs. So my program director in Little Rock, a guy named Ted Stryker. Listen to all my people's names. Kevin Cruz, Ted Stryker. It's like we're all action figures. He said, nah, you got to stay Bobby Bones. I'm like, I hate that name. So here I am in Little Rock doing okay. I ended up breaking into another radio station, taking over the airwaves. I was about to get fired. Another radio station calls me from Austin and goes, hey, you should come down now. At this time, I'd already started voice tracking from Little Rock other stations, meaning I was on nights in, like, three other really small towns at night. And I would just do the night show. I'd record them before. He'd just talk over songs. Nothing to it. And I said, okay, well, I took the job in Austin. But because I was already voice tracking these other places, they were like, you just have to say bobby Bones, because you're already on these other cities, and we're going to keep you on those cities when you come to Austin, I'm thinking, oh, my God, I have to say Bobby Bones again. So I was doing nights in Austin as Bobby Bones, thinking, my next job. Out of here, man. I'm out. There's no more Bobby Bones. Going to my real name. I got mornings from mornings. I built my own syndication company, went into all these markets to Nashville. I've never been able to shake it. So I wish I could change the bobbycast name. And I might at some point. I'm stuck being Bobby Bones at this point. It's how I think a lot of people know me. So that's how the Bobbycast got its name, and that's how I got my name. And sometimes I still cringe if people don't know what I do. And I tell them, yeah, I do podcasts, do radio. They're like, oh, yeah, what's your name? Oh, Bobby Bones. It still feels like a little bit embarrassing to have a name of a pirate or a porn star or something. I don't even know what it is, but that's what's up. That's how the name happened. Have you ever been canceled?

Now I want to jinx myself. I'll do this. No, there have been attempts, but no, I've never been canceled. Also, I've never been in real trouble to be canceled when different things would happen in our society. I was never a part of that troublesome group.

We'll say so.

[Mike D]

I've said some things that have got me in trouble. I've said some things that have got the station in trouble. I've done some things. I've got the station sued, but I've never been canceled. Also, I'm not big on cancel culture anyway. Nobody is. Well, some people are. They want to cancel you for any dumb thing. But most people I know, I'm not big on cancel culture unless, like, you hurt a kid or touch a kid or hurt an animal. I think there are things where you should be eliminated from having a voice for people to hire you. But I also think you should get. I've been watching the World Cup a little bit. I know nothing about soccer. I think if you do something stupid and you say something stupid, you should get a yellow card. This is your cancel yellow card. And you're like, oh, God.

Oh, my bad.

[Mike D]

Yep, probably did it. Now, if you get another yellow card in the next 36 months, that's a red card. You're now canceled. If you don't, yellow card goes away. Now, you can't get a red card and get kicked out immediately. That's what happens in soccer. You're out, and you're out the next game. But I have not been canceled. And I hope this is not played after I get canceled for some reason. But no, I also feel like, again, unless you're like, breaking the law, hurting people, I'm not a cancel guy. And even if you are cancel for something stupid, you said, I think you should be able to work your way back from it. So let's say you say something when you're 19. We've seen this with athletes. They post something, it's sexist or any of the those bad things. I just don't feel like their whole life should be ruined because of it. I think they should be able to prove that they've changed, do the work, and then there be an acceptance point of, all right, you're back in the game. So not a cancel guy. Haven't been canceled yet, but we'll see. But also, I don't do anything. I say stuff I like. I pop off with my mouth.

I would say verbally confrontational at times. Sometimes to my detriment. Especially if I feel like I'm being challenged or somebody's being challenged that does not have a voice. I will for sure hop in. But I'm lame. It's been the greatest part of my career as far as the success. Like, nothing has inhibited me from success that I do. Stupid. Because I don't really have any vices. Baseball cards. I spent too much money on baseball cards. So, yeah, haven't been canceled. Never say never. There's something and I'll just address this. I got a couple questions about it. Asking if I, like, read any motivational books or anything. I wrote a book that's. I would say it's a motivational book.

I would say it's a very practical book.

[Mike D]

So I didn't do a lot of woo woo in it, but it's called Fail until youl Don't. And it was the second book that I wrote. I hope people are motivated by it. It's more of a kick you in the pants book than it is some way to do yoga and scream on a mountaintop to an eagle. Like, that's just not what the book's about. So I wrote that book. It did really well. I'm super happy about it. I got my friends to write their stories not of success, but of failure. Because I don't believe enough people see failure to know that it's actually pretty normal. And if people knew how the successful people were failing all the time, they wouldn't be as scared to fail all the time. And that any success just actually comes from doing it over and over again and doing it wrong over and over again. Until you figure it out. It's rare that you just do something good. And wow, that worked. So I write this book, fail until you don't. But I never really got into the motivational space, meaning I don't get on social media and do motivational clips for the most part. Sometimes what I'm saying, hopefully is motivating to people or my story that I'm telling is motivating to people. Sometimes I'll go and I'll be hired to speak and do like a motivational speech, even my tour. And you can see the comedy special on this YouTube channel called comedically Inspirational. It's up. But it was bought by CMT for a while. Like, there's some inspiration there, but it's just not my main thing. And I started noticing these influencers who are motivational recording their clips. I swear to God, they're not doing a podcast. They're just looking at a camera. They have something prepared, they make it up and they cut it off. And we're supposed to think that was being said in a podcast now? They don't all do that, but some do.

And so I was telling Brandon about this.

[Mike D]

I said, dude, I think we should just fake some clips. Like, we'll do it just like we're doing the Bobby cast. And I'll see something super poignant and motivational and then I'll just post it and people will think it's part of a podcast and they'll go, dang, what a great point. Why I'm telling you this. Because I'm telling you this. You're going to notice it and see it. Like, it do prayer hands or be like, we need, like, a special code is what we need. Because I just don't want you supporting out of nowhere. I like inside jokes. Like, I want you guys to be on the inside of this. And who knows? They may end up being terrible and we may do this, like three and decide we're not going to do them anymore. The inside joke is going to be either three prayer hands, not one, because someone might actually see it and go, yep.

Great advice with two exclamation points. Those are the three things. No, the two things. Three prayer hands. Or great advice with two exclamation points. That way I know you're in on the joke. Now. It's not going to be joke stuff, I'm saying, but we're going to. We're not going to do them in a podcast. I'm going to just show this is inside between all of us, that these people aren't saying this stuff to, like, other people. They're, like, writing their little things and they're acting like they're talking to somebody and they're motivating somebody, but there's nobody there. It's all set up. It's all wrestling, it's all smoke and mirrors. So the sentiment will be real, but we will be shooting it specifically to look like what it really isn't. And if you see one pop up, either three prayer hands or. Great advice, two exclamation points. That's our inside joke. The last time we did an inside joke. And if some of you guys weren't in on this inside joke, I'm now going to let you in on it. But Eddie and I built a pickleball court in my backyard. Now, I haven't played pickleball once since I tore my ankle. I think I'm back. I think I probably could do it now, but I haven't, because I can't. Although I think I can now. But I said, eddie and I are going to go to YouTube and learn how to build a pickleball court. And it's awesome. We built a heck of a pickleball court. We documented it the whole time. The only problem is we didn't build a dang thing. We didn't do any work at all while the people were back there that we hired to build a pickleball court. When they would leave for the day, Eddie and I would go take pictures back there. And so what I told everybody one time and one time only, and they were in on the joke. And so you would see all these people going, heck of a job. And we had a few things that we would say, and the people that were in on it supported it so much, it became hilarious. To where I'll go places still today and people will say, that pickleball court that you built, that thing looks amazing. I'm like, yeah. So if you weren't in on that, well, now you know. Eddie and I did not build that thing. We were taking pictures in the tractors. People were believing it so much. Like, we had gone on YouTube and learned how to rent a tractor, and it looked perfect. We put, like, mud on us. Ooh, sweat. So this is going to be the new pickleball court. Whenever you see one of these motivational clips up and you'll know them, that's what you do. I think my left arm is now stronger than my right arm just in, like, size, because this is how I

a long period of time. I never hold with this arm. I always hold with the left arm. I do think if I measure them with tape measure, the left arm would be significantly larger. So I think that's a change,

I think that's it. Now, here's one other. Who are the people that are in your group that work on these shows? I don't mind listing them. So for the Bobby cast, I feel like this should be, like, a starting lineup or it shows their face and they're like, Brandon Ray. So the head of all my creative is Brandon Ray. So if it looks good, sounds good, is good or bad. Brandon Ray, he's over everything now. We also have people that are really good that work alongside him. But Brandon is my main Guy. Brandon's also an awesome singer and musician and producer music. So when you heard the song Bobby and Eddie, let's Go, that's all Brandon Ray, like, he's in charge of everything. He also built a set for. It's a literal set for when we do, like, throwback stuff on Netflix or podcasts with the bookshelf behind us, all the VHS, all the old TVs, like, all. That's Brandon. So Brandon's the head. Dylan is the video guy. As far as edits. Like, he has to have, like, an edit. Editing. You have to have timing and editing. I used to think editing was just trimming things, right? But there's comedic timing. There's the ability to put a tease on something that makes you want to click into it. Like, he's got to be like a clickbait bandit as well, because that's the name of the game. So Dylan is the guy that does all 95% of video editing. But I just don't want to say it's editing because it's so much more than that. But that's him. And sometimes he has to turn stuff over fast. So he's super proficient. He also knows, like, high, like, tech. Very good at tech. He's also 12, so he knows all this stuff. Like, he, like. I think he's, like, in his 20s. So Dylan does all of that. Vital to the organization, obviously. Mike D is like, my main guy for the radio show, for all of this. As far as Mike's been producing the Bobby cast since day one. And he, on the radio show, is the main writer of the show. I mean, he writes all the games,

so he doesn't write stuff that I

say, but he writes games. He tries to predict what I'm doing. And I'm not even talking about Mike in this world, but Mike also works in the world of producing some of these shows as well. Kickoff. Kevin, again, does radio stuff, too, but also produces multiple podcasts. He produces the Lots to say NFL podcast. So he's over here at our studios producing Lots to say It.

That's the right one. He's also on 25 whistles. He also. We just finished a big 90s country podcast that him and I basically wrote the whole thing together. So he's creative in a lot of ways. He's very much an octopus, heavy on the puss, but he's got tentacles and everything. He's also, like, on mic and part of the show on 25 whistles. So big, big sports guy. But I think that's pretty much the group here. You guys know the Bobby Bone show group. Am I forgetting anybody? I don't think so. That's pretty much the group here. Reed, sometimes. Reed still lives in St. Louis. Emphasis on the puss. I just call him like once every three weeks, like, dude, what's up? Like, I still pay him. He doesn't do crap until we need him to and then he jumps through and crushes it. But Reed used to be like my main guy and now Brandon has surpassed him in every way. Skills looks every way possible, but emphasis on yeah, puss. So that's the team here. Obviously I have the whole Bobby Bone show team and that does a whole different job, but I have a group of like five or six people that we do all the other stuff. That's not the Bobby Bones show that I pay myself. So that's it. That is extremely in the weeds. They have no more weeds.
