Bobby Bones
Nice.
Amy
All right, next one. I'm listening to the Thursday Post show. Instead of whining about not getting free tickets, if you want to go to something, buy them yourself like the general public. You guys sound like complete babies. I agree. Entitled.
Lunchbox
But we're not the general public.
Amy
Entitled is all. Get out.
Morgan
Yeah, we're not gen pop.
Amy
Yeah, you are.
Lunchbox
That's the thing, man. When you have a job like this, you don't have to buy tickets.
Amy
Sounds like you do.
Morgan
It's like if you work at the movie theater, like you don't pay for a movie ticket.
Lunchbox
No, you don't. You go for free.
Amy
The movie is built into the place where they already work. If there were a show up in this building, I think you get to go free.
Morgan
No problem.
Amy
Yeah, yeah. Appreciate the voicemails. Leave us voicemails anytime. 877-7. Bobby, Amy, over to you.
Bobby Bones
So there's this mom. I saw her on Instagram and she decided that she was gonna up and drive her kids to Florida one day without going home to pack or anything. Like she went to Go pick them up. She said she just had this invasive thought. She's like, I should go to Florida and see my sister and family. So she goes to pick her kids up wherever they are, and she's like, hey, kids, we're driving to Florida. Which was like over four hours. But she didn't go. She didn't go pack toothbrushes, underwear, nothing. And she's on social media, like, saying how she just on a whim, decided to go do this. And then she went to Walmart and picked up essentials that they needed. But I just saw the debate in the comments. Like, some people are like, this sounds like a manic episode. Somebody check on her. And then others are like, what a fun mom. Like this. And it just goes to show how, depending on what filter you're putting it through, like, I could see both sides. Like, yeah, is she having a. I could see myself in some of my emotional moments being like, I'm just gonna get in the car and I'm just gonna keep driving. Cause that's how she acted. She's like, I just wanna get in the car. Keep driving. And then other people are like, wow, cool. Way to be spontaneous. Your kids are gonna remember this forever. But are they gonna remember it forever as being fun? Or like, mom, we didn't even go back, you know, So I don't know. I just curious Yalls thoughts on.
Amy
I think there's some factors at play here. One, has she had other episodes in the past where the doctors have recommended, she needs medicine?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I don't know.
Amy
Two, have they recommended the. Well, yeah, I know, but I'm just saying. Two, have they recommended it? And she's not been on the medicine, and yet she's still. So that's the far one. Pendulum side of it. The other side is, yeah, that's awesome. You probably, as a kid, you know, learn that you get to go do fun things and it creates spontaneity within yourself and your future. So that would be that pendulum swinging that way east and west. Let's go up and down now. Pendulum going up and down. The first part of that is, if this all happens and they go to Florida and it's all safe and they have a good time and they come back, it's like, wow, how about that? That was a lot of fun. The other way is. And they were supposed to. The Holy Spirit sent them on a ride because they needed to go and spend family time together. They go and have a car wreck and somebody gets hurt or bad. Oh, they should have never. They should have never done that. Why are you listening to the voices in your head?
Morgan
That could be bad.
Amy
Yeah. Depending on the situation. There are 87 versions of why it happened because you can easily assign that to something bigger than your religion. God spoke to her. Well, if something bad happens, why is she listening to the voices in her head? That wasn't God. That was an episode. So it all depends on what happens afterward as to what you can assign now. Again, it's revisionist. The assignment is revisionist because once she gets back and everybody's safe, it's like, man, good Lord sent her down there to have some time with her kids. Yeah, but somebody gets hurt, somebody gets sick, God forbid somebody dies. She was having a psychotic episode. The voice in her head was something that needed to be medicated.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, well, she's a stay at home mom. They homeschool their kids. Like she has this ability to freedom.
Amy
I'm kidding, I'm kidding, I'm kidding.
Bobby Bones
But overall, like my consensus, after watching the whole thing and then doing a deep dive on her page, I don't even know. She popped up in my. For you, I don't follow her. I don't even remember her name. But I just. It just made me think, overall, I thought that if she was able to do. Seemed like a fun experience. And I guess I sort of wish I could just sometimes hop in my car and be like, kids, let's go. We're driving to Colorado to see my sister.
Amy
I think if the outcome ends up being positive, like you're saying it's awesome, Right? And they had a great time and the kids didn't miss school.
Bobby Bones
And it's obviously summer now too, either way. So I just thought, wow, so crazy how many people on here are saying she's having a mental breakdown when really it looks to me like she's just.
Amy
The people that are saying she's having the mental breakdown are the people that have never been introduced to a version of that lifestyle.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, she definitely seems more of like a free spirit parent.
Amy
And again, if she goes and comes back and everybody's healthy and safe, what a great parent. Yeah, but it's all based upon the results of it more than it is. Because who knows why she did it.
Morgan
But she's back and she's okay, right?
Bobby Bones
I don't know. Yeah, I'll have to check.
Amy
I don't know exactly. We're not even assigning.
Morgan
Oh, no.
Amy
We don't know what compelled her. It's either God or it's. She's having like a Schizophrenic breakdown?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Amy
Or.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, like a manic episode. Like, I was thinking there was a time where I thought about. There was a time, like, I was on 65 and I was about. I was approaching my exit, and I was like, I think I'm just gonna keep going. But then I knew if I kept going, pretty much I was just gonna be in Alabama. And then where. Then where do I.
Amy
That's all you need to be. That's your home. Then you're back home, and then you're yelling, roll tide. Just like you're meant to be.
Morgan
You're going to sweet home Alabama.
Amy
That was pulling you home and you didn't even go.
Bobby Bones
But during that time in my life, 100%, if y' all had gotten wind and y' all would know this, that I didn't get off on my exit and I kept driving with no plan. Y' all have been like, you admit her to the hospital now?
Amy
Just depends.
Bobby Bones
She's no you. Because at that time, I would have been having a break.
Amy
How old. How old are you?
Bobby Bones
How old am I now?
Amy
No, no, I know how old you are now.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I was probably 41, 42.
Amy
Where were you in the divorce? Not yet, but it had been decided. But you hadn't been divorced.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I mean, there was stuff that was happening, like kids stuff, husband stuff.
Amy
Like, so what if you do this and we're like, oh, Amy's crazy. But then you go down and you meet the man of your dreams and he's freaking awesome and he yells, roll Tide. Like you always do, and we'd have been like, well, that was a God thing.
Bobby Bones
I know.
Amy
It is all based on the results of what happens before we assign why it happened.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Well, I'm letting you know it was shortly after you did get in the pool. I walked. The clothes.
Amy
Yeah, it was during that. That was an episode.
Bobby Bones
If you want to know frame of reference other than my age, it was that season.
Amy
Got it.
Morgan
Got it loud and clear.
Lunchbox
Did you yell roll tide when you went in the pool?
Amy
She did. There's a video of it. Yeah.
Lunchbox
Okay.
Amy
There's a video of it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So anyway, if anybody knows who that mom is, give me your handle. I gotta check on her.
Amy
Her handle. CB wall. Can I get her handle there? Breaker, breaker. Want to.
Bobby Bones
Her Instagram handle.
Amy
I know.
Morgan
So do you got. Would you guys go on that trip, though? Like, would you enjoy it?
Amy
No.
Bobby Bones
What?
Morgan
See, that would freak you out.
Amy
I have too much to do.
Morgan
No, no, not that. Not that part. Like, going without preparation, no packing, not taking your stuff.
Amy
I have too much to do.
Bobby Bones
No, no, no, but just forget that you don't. Like, you have to just be like, you know what, guys?
Amy
I can't suspend. I can't suspend that because I always have. I have no problem with that. I'd be fine. I'll stop at a gas. I used to live at a gas station, even when I lived at home, so it's no big deal. I used to buy all my groceries at gas stations, all my toothpaste, toothbrush, everything. So I'd be fine. Travel across country, don't need a single clothes. I would just get it on the way. Yeah, okay, but I have too much to do. So you're not going? No, and it's not even important stuff. I just. I have things I have to do.
Bobby Bones
Oh, that reminds me of one part that she mentioned. And. Or maybe this is somewhere in the comments she replied to somebody like, if she had gone home, she probably would have changed her mind. Like, she's like. And I didn't want to give myself that option. Like, this seemed like what we needed to do and I wanted to go. But if you go home, you start packing and then you pick up things and then you're like, oh, should we really do this? And then she's like, And I would have never gone, oh, a mental breakdown.
Amy
I'm leaning to a mental breakdown now. If she's like, avoiding going home first. No, like, what happened at home? Are the dishes not done? And she's like, I don't want to do the dishes.
Bobby Bones
More of like, smart. Like, she knows herself and she knows that, like, Bobby, she'll be like, oh, I have too much to do. I can't go.
Amy
Yeah, but mine's all a mental breakdown. My life is a mental breakdown. Generally. That's a good story, though. That's interesting. I do believe we assign results to things based on after it happened, why it happened in that order. Because we can go, something bad happened. She should have just. She should have not gone. She should have. Or something great happened. Big man upstairs. Yeah, we do that a lot without even noticing. Lunchbox, you're up.
Lunchbox
Yeah. This is an update to a story we talked about a few months ago. Ghost Adventurers. The guy that goes and finds ghosts on the History Channel or whatever. His wife had put out a murder for hire plot and she was arrested and it was all in the news. Well, she pleaded guilty and he found out when she was arrested that this was the second time she had taken a hit out on him.
Amy
And.
Lunchbox
And someone was blackmailing her and had taken half of their life savings.
Amy
Wait, did she put the hit out because she was being blackmailed?
Lunchbox
No, no, she put the hit out and someone was like, I'm going to tell him or you're going to start paying me money. And so she was like, I don't want to go to jail. So she paid half their life savings. And he found all this out when she was arrested. I mean, this is crazy.
Amy
So he's got half his life savings as well now?
Lunchbox
Yes.
Bobby Bones
And so she's like, divorce would have been cheaper.
Amy
You know what? That's the move as a hitman. I'm going to go one layer. You don't kill the hitman. They buy you, and then you just blackmail them without killing anybody. Because the worst. Yeah, they buy like a redemption. I don't know what you buy for one hitman at some point.
Bobby Bones
Jail for blackmail or murder.
Amy
Blackmail.
Bobby Bones
Right.
Amy
So you hire me to kill, and I'm like, no, not gonna do it, but I'm gonna take half your money. And then if you get caught, then they get you for blackmail, which probably has a far less significant penalty.
Morgan
Still years. Probably.
Amy
But different than murder. Yeah, yeah.
Morgan
It's whole life.
Amy
Yeah.
Lunchbox
But she fell in love with this guy on a documentary about he had massacred his whole family.
Amy
And she massacre guy.
Lunchbox
She started being a pen pal with him and was like, oh, my gosh, I'm in love with this guy. And so she wanted her husband killed. So she found some guy.
Amy
How did the husband know she was crazy like this?
Bobby Bones
See, now this is a mental break, right?
Amy
The husband has to know she is insane. To just fall in love with someone in a documentary. A.
Bobby Bones
A murderer.
Amy
No. Let's take everything else out. Let's say he wasn't a murderer. Let's say he raised camels. And you just fall in love with a guy on a documentary that you've never met. You don't think the husband knows she's nuts?
Bobby Bones
No.
Lunchbox
He said in his court testimony, this person over here, pointing at her. I don't know her at all. Not one bit. I feel like this. That right there deserves prison time.
Morgan
No.
Lunchbox
And she got up and apologized and said, I am sorry. I'm sorry for breaking us. I will always have love for you, But I'm gonna promise you that I will never contact you again in your life.
Amy
Here's the difference. If you get arrested, charged, convicted of blackmail, maximum one year.
Morgan
Oh, that's not bad.
Amy
Maximum hitman, more of a serious crime. It's murder for hire if no injury or death occurs. So you're hired as a hitman, but you don't do the hit. You'll get up to 10 years in prison. Whoa.
Morgan
Just for being a hitman.
Amy
If you do hit, it's life imprisonment, death penalty, all that.
Morgan
Multiple lives.
Amy
Yeah, I'm blackmailing like crazy. Also, if you're like a ghost hunter, aren't you kind of crazy too? So crazy attracts crazy. Like those two found each other.
Lunchbox
I mean, probably a little crazy. Yeah, but she got 36 months to up to 90 months lunchbox.
Amy
You meet a ghost hunter at a bar and that's his whole job.
Lunchbox
I'm not talking to him.
Amy
Why?
Lunchbox
Weird.
Amy
Yeah, exactly.
Lunchbox
Strange.
Amy
Crazy. Crazy often attracts crazy. Now he didn't deserve to be hitmanned.
Lunchbox
Not once, but twice.
Morgan
Yeah, it's crazy. I mean, dude, you never do know who you're sleeping next to, right?
Lunchbox
You think you know, but you have no idea.
Amy
But when you're both crazy, you're kind of probably in it together.
Bobby Bones
But at some point, like, when do you turn crazy, right? There's. There's some people that like.
Amy
Are you asking for a friend?
Bobby Bones
Wink, wink. No, no, no, no. Thankfully, I don't think I have multiple personalities. I'm hormonal and have different sides, but I'm not. I don't have two different lives. Like he was saying, I don't know this woman. So clearly she was living like she's double life. But at what point, like say you do have that, you know, like you said we were talking to the other day about when you're sick, like suddenly just like sickness comes over you. One minute you're fine, next minute. With a mental illness like that, at some point can you just suddenly have a split personality?
Amy
So I don't know the answer to that, but I would say that when he says he doesn't know her, he doesn't know the person that eventually hired the hitman, but he probably knew the person that could fall in love with someone at a documentary.
Bobby Bones
Okay, well, maybe.
Amy
And love does crazy things to people, makes them act completely irrational. Love, lust, I think it was probably rooted in that, with whatever she was dealing with up in the cuckoo clock. And it manifested itself in that way, like she fell in love. Love makes you do odd things. Hopefully good. Hopefully good things. And she already had a cuckoo clock that was wound up. If he's a ghost hunter, I'm imagining he has a cuckoo clock too. A ghost hunter. Think about if that were your full time job, Amy. A ghost hunter. I'm not. He didn't do anything wrong legally. But if you meet some guy, in.
Bobby Bones
Order for it to be a full time job, you have to have people that are hiring you.
Lunchbox
And he has a TV show.
Amy
Okay. You meet a psychic. You meet a psychic that sits in one of those houses and it's like psychic for sale. And you come in and you meet him and he's awesome. And you're like, wow, this guy's great. What do you do? Well, you know, a little. That little shack over there on third and eighth says psychic come in for a free reading. That's mine. I'm a psychic. What do you think?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I mean, are you in. No.
Amy
Cuckoo. Cuckoo clocks when it wound up. Right?
Bobby Bones
Yeah, but I mean, like my cousin, psychic, she's married, but she doesn't. Normal life.
Amy
She doesn't have a little shack on the side of the road.
Morgan
So it's just the.
Amy
It's just the shack partially. Yeah, I think the shack. Yeah, I do think the shack's a big part of it, but I'm not.
Morgan
Saying it's the one. I'm 38.
Amy
I'm not saying it's a whole different. But the shack's a big part of it.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Lunchbox
That's a huge part.
Amy
Yeah.
Morgan
So if you're an online psych psychic.
Amy
Yeah. You're just trying to steal money. If you're the psychic. What?
Bobby Bones
My cousin's not stealing money.
Amy
We're talking in general terms. But if you're the psychic in a little building on the road, you probably are laundering money. You probably think you're a psychic, probably got a little crystal ball. You selling merch? You got a whole thing going.
Lunchbox
Yeah, I just can't. And I see those shacks and I'm like, enough people go in there that they make money.
Amy
Can you find a shack here in town to go in one?
Bobby Bones
What about the. What about, you know, the one guy I'm talking about that everybody tries to go see here? Yeah, Here.
Amy
Oh, I went.
Bobby Bones
You went.
Amy
That's a bit.
Morgan
But you went to a shack place.
Bobby Bones
Did you talk about.
Amy
It wasn't a shack.
Bobby Bones
It's not a shack, but it's a house.
Amy
We talked about it.
Bobby Bones
We did.
Amy
It's been. How long we been in Nashville, 12 years? Yeah, it's probably been eight years.
Bobby Bones
Okay. He's a. But.
Amy
But a friend told me to go and set up the appointment as a gift.
Bobby Bones
He's still wildly sought after and booked like months and months and months out.
Amy
But he's not. He's not in a shack, though. His place had air conditioning.
Morgan
Okay.
Amy
And he wasn't selling merch.
Bobby Bones
I agree. But I mean, there's something to it. Like there's people in town that love going to him. They.
Amy
I think people. Again, I'm going to give you my version of my opinion. Okay. This is me speaking. I think people that seek that out will seek out something in order to feel like they have an indicator of their purpose.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Amy
They need that.
Bobby Bones
Okay.
Amy
And so you're going there in search of somebody giving you some stability emotionally, even, I would say intellectually, you're going to get it somewhere. So that's the method they've taken, is somebody telling them it's going to be okay.
Bobby Bones
So did anything stand out to you that was like, oh, wow, how do you know that?
Amy
No, because they kept going, oh, you can read that online. I even said that once. I said that once. I didn't say it every time. And you said something about my grandma and I was like, you can read that online. And I don't think he liked my tone. Probably not, but I didn't mean it like I did the tone. I didn't mean the tone like that, but I meant that like just skepticism. No, no, I wasn't being a skeptic. I was just like, oh, you can read that online. Like, try something else.
Bobby Bones
Okay. Well, you're so challenging.
Amy
I think I was challenging without meaning to challenge because I wanted more to prove to me that. That this was real. Because I already didn't believe I was going in there from a negative place. I would say I was negative, not feeling negative. But if even means you're going in with an open mind, but you don't believe it, but you're still open mind. Positive means you fully believe it. You can't wait to see a negative. Means you don't believe it. But let's just see what happens. I was on the positive, negative side because I am not going to tell you that something that I can't prove right or wrong is wrong.
Bobby Bones
Well, so back to the ghost hunter.
Amy
You're nuts. But. But I've been wrong before. I definitely could be wrong about that.
Morgan
But what if the ghost hunters just. That's just a business. Like he didn't even believe in it, but he makes money doing it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Amy
So that definitely could be a thing.
Morgan
Right? Could be not crazy if you do that.
Lunchbox
But I don't. I mean, do they really not believe it to be doing it all these years and then have a T. I mean, you have to be real, honey.
Amy
You gotta be great at it, though, if you're gonna be great at it, you kind of have to believe you could be good and you could fake people out for a while. But it's hard to fake people out for a long time with something you really aren't. Yeah, a bit is. You can't. You can only lie for so long.
Bobby Bones
But Lunchbox went to that ghost house, and weird things happened to him.
Lunchbox
But that's a legit ghost house.
Amy
But it was only one night. I think if he decided to move in there all of a sudden, that stuff would go away. If they said, you can live here for a dollar and this is your new house, he'd live there and be fine.
Morgan
The Axe Murderer place? Is that what it is?
Amy
But I did say you could have read that online. And it wasn't met warmly. And he never said anything that I felt couldn't be found in one of my books or online.
Bobby Bones
Gotcha.
Amy
So. And he said he never read anything about me online or in a book. And I have no reason to think he's lying. But my layer of skepticism kept me from thinking, oh, he's for sure telling the truth. But I did go to that guy. Person paid for it.
Bobby Bones
I forgot about that.
Lunchbox
I didn't realize there was a renowned person here in Nashville who knew.
Morgan
He's a higher end. Higher end?
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Amy
No idea. I don't know. I didn't pay for it.
Bobby Bones
Well, I would think just by the. I have no idea, but I would think by the people I listed people in my head that I know that go there. I think it's considered higher end.
Amy
I mean, the person who sent me, I think, spent a good amount of money on it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I would just think they're. They're. They're well known.
Amy
Maybe he was selling crystals.
Morgan
So he did have merch.
Amy
Or maybe he gave me crystals. Yeah.
Morgan
Crystal merch.
Amy
I don't know. It's been a long time. Been a long time. All right, Lunchbox. Thank you, Morgan.
Raymundo
Okay, so Flavor Flav.
Amy
Flavor Flav.
Raymundo
He's apparently has all these cutouts and raising canes across the country, and people have been stealing him and posting pictures online of, like, stealing this cardboard cutout. Well, he's like, okay, actually, I'm going to encourage you guys to keep doing this. And whoever takes me on the coolest adventure this summer, I'm going to go to Flat Flav.
Morgan
Yeah, Flat Stanley.
Amy
Flat Stanley Flat Flav. Yep.
Raymundo
And he's like, I'm going to take whoever takes me on the coolest adventure to raising canes with me to have a meal.
Amy
So why this is cool. One, annoying at first because they keep stealing it. Two, once this becomes viral, raising canes has to be so excited to put new ones out, and then they have to turn their head. You can't just go, okay, whoever wants can have it. You have to turn your head, though, when someone comes in, is trying to steal it and let them steal it thinking they're stealing it. So then they can do it, because this. These viral campaigns turn into the biggest moneymakers for these places. We're talking about it right now. So what turned out as a prank and misdemeanor theft is now really great for raising canes.
Raymundo
Yeah, it's raising canes. I kind of want to go steal them just so I can go do it potentially have.
Amy
You know, I bet you can't find one in a store if it's becoming a news story. I bet they're. They're so hard to find because as soon as they go up, somebody takes one, and the store again can't be like, hey, anybody wants it, they can have it. But if they see someone near it, they have to, like, look away. I watched last night an episode of Nathan for your, which still might be one of the funniest TV shows ever, and they don't make them anymore. But it's Nathan filled or the same guy who does the rehearsal. The rehearsal, yeah. And I think, just genius. It's so dry. But what he does and Nathan, for you, this old show, is he goes. And he helps businesses that need help. And so this one guy, he has a yogurt shop, frozen yogurt. And he's like, yeah, people don't come anymore. And he goes, all right, well, you got to do something viral or something to get people caring about you. That's different. You got to be in the news. And the guy's like, okay. He goes, I think you need to do a poop flavor of frozen yogurt. And so the guy's like, I don't think that's a good idea. And he goes, no, it is. So he goes to this place that claims they can make a flavor of anything. It's actually the first episode of the whole series. I started it over last night. And he goes. And they say, we can make the flavor whatever you want. So the guy at the chemical place in LA is like, okay, we never have made the poop flavor, but here you go. And he's like, this is edible, right? He goes, yeah, for sure. It's edible. So he does. And he pays people to do a taste test, but he doesn't tell them what the flavor it is. And so he has all the people on the board, and they show them they're eating it, and they're like. And one guy goes, tastes like burnt peppermint or something. And the next girl goes, tastes like poop. And he goes, how do you know what poop tastes like? And she's like, I know. I just kind of know what it smells like. So he ends up putting the poop flavor in the fro on one of the froyo machines that you pull down. And so, dude, the freaking place fills up because the newspaper does, like, a story on it. And then people don't want poop anymore, but it's pretty funny.
Morgan
And they know about the place now.
Amy
Yeah, it's like that. It's like that story, like, it became known that he had a poop flavor, so people wanted to try it. Eventually, people don't want to try the poop flavor anymore, but, yeah, it went viral for that. It's pretty good.
Raymundo
I love a good marketing. I think it's so clever when people have, like, these cool marketing campaigns.
Amy
There was one other one. It was a petting zoo, and she needed help because people weren't coming to the petting zoo anymore. And he goes, well, you need something to go viral again. Everything for him is about getting people to know. And he says, we need to have, like, an animal save an animal. And she's like, okay. So it goes, we get, like, one of your pigs to save one of your other animals. People love pigs. Ever seen Charlotte's Web? He's like, if it'll save another animal. And so they put a goat in the pond, but they could never get the pig to swim out to the goat, even though it was shallow. So they couldn't get the pig. So they hired a movie pig that.
Morgan
Would just do stuff that you can train.
Amy
Yeah, they hired a movie pig. And so even the movie pig wouldn't do it. And all they needed was to swim by the goat to, like, knock the goat on track, and so it wouldn't work. So then he built, like. It was, like, clear pvc. He built, like, a little ramp for the pig that looks like it's swimming, but it's really not. And then the goat is also on the PVC trail, and he just bumps the goat and the goat safe, everybody. They did it. It looked real. They showed, like, the today show, Good morning America, all local news, all talking about this Goat. And so this person who's running the pet store is like, yeah, but my pet or my petting suit is not up there at all. He goes, yeah, it was too good of a story to have to assign to a business, so we just let it. But the whole thing was fake. It was so funny, huh?
Bobby Bones
Whole thing.
Amy
I'm laughing last night. It's 9:30. I'm laughing out loud. I'll tell you one more. He did these posters that looks like he wanted to find who the punk teens were and tell on them. That was their whole goal. So he did these posters that look like if you drew wieners in the spots, it would be. What do you call it when you. When someone paints on a wall?
Bobby Bones
Spray paint.
Morgan
Oh, graffiti.
Amy
Spray paint. Graffiti, yeah. Like, it was easy to. It was like two really tall guys, and then him. And when he stood up at his full height in the picture, he was only up to, like, their quads. And he had his fists out like this, like, I'll show you. But since he was up to their quads, you could easily put wieners in both of his hands like this, and the wieners would be right by his head. So he threw. He. He put this huge poster up, and they just waited for somebody to call to draw wieners on it. And the first person that came up was, like, this teenager. And he draws wieners on. He goes, aha. And he goes, hey, kid. He goes, I think that's pretty funny. He said, we're doing a show called Funny Teens. And so they're shooting him. And he goes, we want to see, like, where you live. And as soon as they get to where he live, he, like, goes to his mom. He goes, your kid did this and drew wieners on this poster. Oh, got him. I'm telling you, man, it's the funniest show.
Mike D
I started rewatching it too. Have you seen the coffee shop one?
Amy
Which one?
Mike D
He helps the struggling coffee shop. And he's like, you know what we should do? There's a parody law that you can basically take an existing business and add it onto yours, as long as it's parody. So let's call your business Dumb Starbucks. And then they name all the, like, items, like dumb this, Dumb Frappuccino, dumb coffee. And they're able to start this business with Starbucks logo, but they just put dumb in front of it.
Amy
The. The gas station one where they give rebates because the gas is like 4 bucks a gallon. And it's like, yeah, so yours for a dollar a gallon. The Guy's like I can't, I'll go broke. He's like, no, but you'll rebate them. So they come and they spend the four bucks, but then you'll rebate them the other three bucks. And he's like I don't have the money to do that. He goes, no, it's going to be impossible to get the rebate. He said, well put. You have to turn the rebate card into this mailbox. We'll put the mailbox on top of a mountain and the only way you can get up there is hike up there. And so people are coming in paying four bucks and getting the rebates because they're going to get their money back. And then they come back and they're like what are we doing? Like oh, read on the back. And it's like, must return to the mailbox on top of Jaja Ja mountain. And like four people show up in full hiker gear. And so now they have to go run a bus to take them up to the mountain. It's, it's super funny show.
Lunchbox
Okay, it's called for Nathan.
Amy
It's called Nathan for you.
Lunchbox
Nathan for you.
Amy
Because that's what he says. He goes, I'm Nathan for you. And he, and he fixes these businesses but it's always something absurd like that.

Eddie.
Morgan
So the health inspector came out with a report of all the restaurants here in Nashville. And it's. I'm not going to call anyone out, but I do want to name some of the stuff they found and I'll find the restaurant that had the lowest score. And this is what they wrote about says, employ prepared fish and lamb chops without washing hands or changing gloves after handling a phone. A bottle of bleach was blocking the hand sink. Mold like substance all over the limes. Caked on food on stored knives. Cooler in on the main cooking line at 60 degrees. Don't know what that means. And then necessitating the disposal of 50 pounds of food.
Amy
So if there's a guy behind me with a clipboard, I'm changing gloves. You know what I mean?
Morgan
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Bobby Bones
But are they undercover?
Amy
Yeah, kind of. I'm just kind of joking a little bit. But if I see a guy with a clipboard watching me right over my shoulder, I'm gonna wash my hands.
Morgan
There was even one that said child walking in and out of the kitchen like somebody's kid was in the kitchen.
Amy
Okay, question. Have we all been to this restaurant?
Morgan
No. Those, they don't sound familiar. But there is one no that we all go to.
Amy
Can you text Me.
Bobby Bones
Does it have a high rating?
Morgan
I will say that. When. When we lived in Texas.
Amy
Oh, not here.
Morgan
It's here, too.
Amy
Okay.
Morgan
When we live in Texas.
Amy
I got it. You're not saying it. Say. All right. What do they say about it?
Morgan
Okay, so. So.
Amy
But.
Morgan
But I want. I want you to tell me what?
Amy
Unlimited chips aren't. Unlimited.
Morgan
I'm going to read what it says. And I didn't think it was that bad, but it says, employ eating from the nacho basket by the hand washing sink.
Amy
Okay, say that again.
Morgan
Employ eating from the nacho basket. Right by the hand washing sink.
Amy
So. But I don't understand. So they're just reaching in, eating chips?
Morgan
Yeah, right by where you're supposed to wash your hands.
Amy
What does it matter where you. Where the hand washing is?
Bobby Bones
I just don't think an employee is supposed to put their hand into the chip bin.
Amy
Okay, but why is the hand washing part of it?
Bobby Bones
I think it's just giving the location of the chip bin.
Amy
Why do they put a chip bin then near where the. I have a lot of questions for this.
Morgan
I don't think it's that bad.
Amy
Go ahead.
Morgan
They're eating nachos while they're washing their hands.
Amy
Nachos, though, or just chips?
Morgan
It says nacho basket. Don't know what that is.
Amy
I mean, we. Listen, we've all done it. I mean, we. We know. We. We don't say what the place is. We all know it, right?
Morgan
You know it.
Lunchbox
I know it.
Amy
They take the shovel. They take the shovel and they dump it in the chip bin. Is that what they're talking about?
Morgan
I have no idea. But then it also says the hand washing sink obstructed by nacho boxes.
Amy
So I guess it's a bad location for the sink or the nachos. One of the two's gotta move.
Morgan
And then it says the pico de gallo was left out of room temp. Left out at room temperature. That's it. I say it's not that bad.
Bobby Bones
It's supposed.
Amy
Amy, it's. We both live near it. Do you know the place?
Bobby Bones
I do now.
Amy
Okay. I think that's solid B plus. And I'll be seeing you there tomorrow.
Morgan
And they got a 70 out of.
Amy
100 just for that.
Morgan
Just for that.
Bobby Bones
They did.
Amy
But you can fix it and they can go back. I learned this on My Name is Earl. You can fix it and they can go.
Morgan
Great show, by the way.
Amy
Yeah, they can go back and then the second. Okay, yeah, yeah.
Morgan
So they are undercover, but they're Also writing notes.
Amy
I don't know. They have to be undercover.
Morgan
They have to, or else there wouldn't be a kid. I wouldn't let my kid run in.
Amy
Because if somebody walked in with a clipboard in general in a suit, we would very quickly, straight. It's like if something. You get company real quick. So you start straightening up the part of the house they're not in yet.
Morgan
So do they just show up and not to just kind of walk in the kitchen without saying anything?
Amy
I think there's two versions of it.
Lunchbox
But yes, I think they have a badge.
Amy
Yes, they do get to come in and go, like, I'm here to do this.
Lunchbox
Everybody back up.
Amy
They have a gun. Get down.
Morgan
I'm checking the kitchen.
Amy
Everybody down.
Bobby Bones
Gloves always perplex me.
Amy
Go ahead.
Bobby Bones
Because there I can think of multiple restaurants. I'm not even calling out one. But it's just like employees that's like, okay, you have your gloves on, but you're doing all kinds of things with your gloves.
Amy
You're not supposed to. You're supposed to do one thing per gloves.
Bobby Bones
But why they don't. And I just sit there and I watch them make it. And I don't like. And then they go like. They grab. Let's say they're grabbing a spoon to dump something. They grab the spoon with the glove and dump it. But then they take their bare hand with the glove to get lettuce and put it. You know.
Morgan
Makes no sense.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, well, you should.
Amy
Citizens arrest. Citizens food arrest.
Bobby Bones
I don't know. I just have to pretend I just unsee it and just eat my meal and then die.
Morgan
We're all dying.
Amy
Country singer Connor Smith. I saw this on Tick Tock.
Morgan
What happened to cars?
Amy
He hit somebody in his car. She was walked across the crosswalk. She's like in her 70s.
Bobby Bones
77.
Amy
Yeah, she died.
Bobby Bones
She's dead.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So it was around 7:30pm Sunday night. Obviously an investigation is happening, but to at this point, like, what is out is that he wasn't inebriated so far as we know. It's tragic. It's tragic because I'm like, is it dark yet at 7:30 or is the sun just setting? And I'm like, how? I mean, there's gotta be so many people because it was like at third, so it was downtown. There's CMA Fest happening. It's like, are you. If you're even just mildly distracted. But I saw that no alcohol, no phone distraction were at play. But obviously it's still being investigated and it's I know his mom. And my heart is breaking for their family and for the family of the 77 year old woman that you know, was just crossing the street. It's terrible.
Amy
Yeah. You know, also sucks. You hijacked my story.
Bobby Bones
Sorry.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Whoa.
Amy
She took the whole story.
Bobby Bones
I'm sorry.
Amy
She just ran with it.
Bobby Bones
Well, I didn't know if you. I saw you get the paper, so then I didn't know what you knew, but you saw it on TikTok, so I should have let you talk. I'm sorry. Sorry. I thought I was helping.
Amy
But you were helping anyway. Gloves, right? Am I right?
Mike D
Yeah, gloves.
Morgan
Like I don't get a spoon, Touch your butt.
Amy
What can you not do?
Lunchbox
So, Bobby, did you have a story you want to bring?
Bobby Bones
Was that your story?
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Oh, I thought you were bringing it up. I thought I knew that was your story.
Morgan
We had all gone except.
Amy
Yeah, yeah, you know, we do an order.
Bobby Bones
I'm just so prepared today.
Amy
Yeah, yeah. No, no.
Morgan
Do you have another one, Bobby, you'd like to bring?
Amy
Yes, please.
Bobby Bones
Do you have any thoughts? I don't know. I shut up.
Amy
That's the one I had marked.
Bobby Bones
I shut up.
Amy
But all seriousness, as of right now, they're not saying that he did anything wrong as far as he wasn't on his phone. He wasn't drunk from what we know. But TMZ has the story because I saw a guy talking about it on Tik Tok and I was like, oh, dang, I didn't know about this. I'll read you the official storm. Official story. Connor was behind the wheel of a Chevy Silverado heading north on 3rd Avenue when a 77 year old Dorothy Dobbins was crossing the street. Dobbins, a local resident, was in a marked crosswalk around 7:30pm when she was hit. She was rushed to Vanderbilt Medical center. Sadly didn't make it. Police believe Connor failed to yield to a pedestrian, which may be the key factor in the crash. Cops say Connor showed no signs of impairment and as of now, no charges have been filed. Sources close to Connor tell TMZ that this was a tragic accident and that he was not under the influence or distracted by his phone at the time of the crash. Connors attorney, Warwick G. Robinson released a statement saying on June 8, Mr. Smith was involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life. His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins family during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation. Yeah, it sucks for everybody. Dang. Oh, you know his mom.
Bobby Bones
I do Jennifer. Jennifer Vickery Smith. She. She's come on my podcast. I've gone on her podcast. She has her podcast. Got it from my mama. Yeah.
Amy
Start at the ACMs.
Bobby Bones
Yes. She used to work for E. News and now she still does, like freelance stuff and she said, yeah, works the red carpet at all the awards.
Amy
Yeah. That sucks.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's terrible.
Amy
The whole year yield to pedestrian thing is tough whenever. And I don't know, this is the case, I'm going to talk completely independent. What the things I'm going to say are in a vacuum compared to what just happened there. My vacuum is a vacuum that I live in. So that's. People just walk across the street.
Morgan
Yes.
Amy
And it's like the rule is yell to pedestrians. But it's hard to yield if they just walk across the street. And it's not yield time because there's a car coming.
Morgan
What's hard for me is when you're turning and you look the other way to make sure no cars come in. Like, say you're turning right, you look left to make sure there's no car coming on the left side and you turn and you're not even looking to where you're turning. And somebody could be there.
Amy
You know what else pisses me off is whenever we're in a roundabout, this ain't Europe. So there's like two roundabouts in the whole city. And it's. I get it, we don't have roundabouts in a lot of places. Highly efficient if used correctly because they've been used for hundreds of years in other countries that do it better than we do. But people, if they're on the inside lane of the roundabout and they think they can just hop and take the out without even looking next to them because they don't know the roundabout. So they're sitting there, two lanes. And eventually in the roundabout, you got to get in the outside lane to get out. Yet they think they can just go out from the inside lane. They almost hit somebody every time there's two. And I do. There's one near Sonic that I go to a lot. That's why I know I'm very familiar with roundabouts. This happens all the time where I'm in the roundabout, just like looking around, seeing if somebody's going to crash into me. And I don't think it's because they're stupid. I think it's because we don't have a whole lot of roundabouts. So people get in them and just like, oh, oh God, what do I Do. What do I do?
Morgan
And driver's ed really doesn't take you to roundabouts.
Amy
No.
Kim
Good.
Morgan
Now that I think about that.
Amy
Good point. It's like the rehearsal. If we did more roundabouts, Mike, and we taught people that, there'd be way less crashes. You want to finish Tuesday reviews day?
Morgan
Yeah.
Amy
So I went. I'm the only one. I had, like, 50 shows, so let's do the rest of the shows, Amy. Tuesday reviews day.
Bobby Bones
So I watched that show. A Man in Full. Have you seen Jeff Daniels on.
Amy
I love Jeff Daniels, though.
Morgan
Dumb and Dumber.
Bobby Bones
Okay, so do I. Yeah. And I gotta say, I'm gonna give this show away. 2. No, I'm not gonna give away details, but I'm gonna give it two out of five bankruptcies. And I. I give it two because obviously it was good enough for me to watch through completion.
Amy
That sounds dirty.
Bobby Bones
It does.
Morgan
Yes, it does.
Amy
Why does. Just the way you said it. Go ahead.
Bobby Bones
Okay. I watched all the episodes, so I'm giving it two, but I could see myself giving it a one, because I just. I don't. I don't.
Amy
You kept going, huh?
Bobby Bones
I kept going. And then when it got done, I was like, what did I just watch? Am I saying too much?
Amy
It says it's six episodes. I. On a show like that, I usually quit after two.
Bobby Bones
Why did you not think it was gonna.
Amy
Because Jeff Daniels is in it.
Bobby Bones
It was getting somewhere. There's other great actors in it too. It was getting somewhere until it didn't.
Morgan
They never got there.
Amy
Well, are you sure you watched all the episodes that's happened with Eddie once where he's like, man, the ending of this show is terrible. And I called him. I'm like, dude, you didn't watch the whole show. There's another episode.
Morgan
There's more.
Bobby Bones
That would be crazy. But I don't know. I think it just. Yeah, I just was like, there's multiple storylines to follow, which kept it kind of interesting, I guess. But then you're like, wow, okay.
Amy
You didn't like it.
Bobby Bones
No, I give it two out of five bankruptcies.
Amy
Okay. Lunchbox.
Lunchbox
I started season two of Squid Game. That's all I can say.
Morgan
Season two. Oh.
Amy
Oh, yeah. That's fair enough.
Lunchbox
Yeah. Because I haven't finished it. I just started it.
Amy
Morgan.
Raymundo
I will say that, man, in full. 1. I watched one episode and I quit watching it.
Amy
It was horrible. You did. Stop.
Bobby Bones
It was horrible.
Raymundo
No, it's not a good show. I watched season one of Hacks because everybody has been talking about it.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah. Love this.
Raymundo
I really liked it. But it gives me very similar vibes to Marvelous Ms. Maisel.
Amy
I think Hacks is based on the life loosely based of Joan Rivers. Mikey, would you say very loosely. And they're both stand up comic, female stand up comics. I think Ms. Maisel though was back like World War II, right?
Raymundo
Yeah, it was before and it came out, I think before Hacks too. But it just gives me very similar vibes throughout the whole thing. I really like it.
Amy
But yeah, it's funny. I like Hacks. The episodes aren't super long.
Raymundo
No, it's an easy watch, which I also like. So so far I really like it. I give season one four out of five.
Amy
Season one probably the best season.
Raymundo
Okay.
Amy
Season two is also good.
Bobby Bones
I agree.
Amy
It starts to like any American series now they're just doing it. They can keep their money coming in. It's hard to keep something going forever. But yeah, Hacks is based off of not a single story. However, the character of Deborah Vance is a fictional character whose personality is based on the amalgamation of real life comedians like Joan Rivers, Phyllis Diller, Melissa Rivers, but she's based on Joan Rivers. That's her daughter. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's good.
Raymundo
Yeah.
Amy
Yeah. Is that it?
Raymundo
Yeah, that's all I watched so far. Well, I did also start Ginny in.
Amy
Georgia, but I saw that was number one on Netflix. But I never watched any of the other seasons.
Bobby Bones
It's so good.
Amy
But I don't think, I don't think I would like it.
Raymundo
I don't think it's a show for you.
Amy
Yeah, it's not a dude show. And also it's like young women and I just creepy. Yeah, just creepy.
Bobby Bones
She's married.
Raymundo
Yeah. I don't think you would like it. But it is so good in season three so far is insane.
Amy
I just, I base all that off just a picture.
Morgan
Jenny and Georgia.
Amy
Yeah, just the two of them, like as a picture. And I'm like two young kids. I don't want to watch it. It's not for me. You know, it's like that show the sex life of College Girls on hbo. I never even thought I would watch it.
Lunchbox
Excuse me.
Amy
Like I trying to watch Sex lives of college and that show is massive.
Bobby Bones
It is.
Amy
Yeah. It's funny and people love it and it's great reviews and it got canceled though. It did.
Lunchbox
Oh, man.
Morgan
I felt like that with the one with what's her name.
Raymundo
Oh, you're thinking of Euphoria.
Amy
Probably Euphoria won't touch it. Teenagers. It's teenagers naked. I'm like, I'm good.
Morgan
What noises is he making?
Lunchbox
That show is good.
Amy
I'm sure it is a good show, Mike.
Lunchbox
Is it not really good?
Mike D
It is a really good show.
Amy
The debate, though, is not if it's good or not. The debate is, I won't even touch it because it feels like I'm watching a bunch of teenagers and teenage girls do sex and drug stuff. Yeah. And I'm like, I'm okay. I got enough. I got enough shows.
Morgan
Although I did see 13 Reasons why, and I love that one. It's all about high school.
Raymundo
Did you watch all of those seasons?
Morgan
Not just the first season. Which? Man, I'll never forget.
Amy
Yeah, first season was good. I tried to watch the second season.
Raymundo
Yeah.
Amy
I couldn't get into it, and I couldn't. And I think they made a third. But wasn't it like Home Alone 3 with a different person?
Mike D
I think so, Yeah.
Morgan
I think they're different stories. Right. Because the first one was Hannah Baker.
Amy
Second, was I Hannah Baker?
Morgan
I don't think so.
Raymundo
No, I do think there's a different.
Amy
Oh, I felt like when three came out because you know how they had Home Alone 3 and it was like a whole different kid.
Morgan
Yeah.
Amy
Yeah. This feels very Home Alone 3. Ish. Was it? There's Four Seasons, Mike.
Mike D
Four Seasons. Looks like there's still some. Some of the same cast.
Amy
Okay, so maybe that's what it was. Some of the same cast.
Morgan
And are they increasing the number? Like 14 reasons why. 15 reasons why.
Amy
It's like Ocean's 11, Ocean's 12, Ocean's 13. I got another reason. Okay, Morgan, thank you. What'd you rate it?
Raymundo
I haven't finished Ginny and Georgia yet, so I can't rate it. But I rated Hacks Season one. Four out of five. Sunglasses.
Morgan
Eddie, I'm in the middle of a lot of stuff, but I've not finished anything.
Amy
Okay, Shut your mouth, Mike.
Mike D
I went to go see the new Wes Anderson movie in theaters. It's called the Phoenician Scheme.
Amy
Man, I struggle with Wes Anderson.
Mike D
That's what I was gonna say. He's a very distinct and niche director, but he's one of my favorites. So it's a movie that's not for any everybody. I think the only other person in this room that would like it would be Eddie.
Amy
Let's. Because he'd lie and say he liked it. No, I think it'd be cool. Yeah, it'd be cool.
Mike D
It just feels like an old Hollywood movie. Just the way that they speak. It's very dry and quirky and like, oh, it appears I've been shot. I think I need to go to the hospital. It's that kind of dialogue. But I just love the way he writes characters and the way it looks. So I give it four out of five airplanes.
Amy
That's like the Pee Wee Herman documentary. It's not for everybody, but did I ever review it? You know, I know we talked about it, but I don't know if I ever reviewed it.
Mike D
I don't think you gave it a rating.
Amy
Four and a half out of five, huh? But it ain't for everybody. And that. That whole Pee Wee Harmon character was never a character that was made for television or movies. He literally had a hundred characters, and that was the one that resonated. So he did, like, a late night midnight show at a theater, and they just. It was like a stage show, but it wasn't for kids. It was just a funny guy.
Mike D
It never even really occurred to him to do comedy. He was just like, wait, I guess I could do comedy.
Amy
Yeah. Or to do it as a kid show. And they were like, hey, what if you did Pee Wee? So his only goal was to, like, make a movie. Once the character was real, it was never what we feel it is now.
Morgan
Yeah.
Amy
Also, justice for Pee Wee. I'll say it again, justice for freaking Pee Wee.
Morgan
And the idea, too, of him deciding to be Pee Wee for the rest.
Amy
Of his life and not be Paul anymore, because he lived as Pee Wee, not in his real life. But he never went out and did interviews as Paul Rubin. Who? Paul Rubens? Yeah, Brubens Rubens, who played Pee Wee Herman. It was only interviewed as Pee Wee. And when he was professional and he was out, he was only. It was Pee Wee Herman that was the character he was. Pee Wee Herman was a real person as far as we all knew. You knew. We knew there was an actor playing him.
Bobby Bones
But then, like, when he's at home, if his friend calls him, he's like, hey, what's up?
Amy
Yeah, he's sure.
Morgan
Sure.
Bobby Bones
He's not.
Amy
But he never present. He never allowed himself to be presented as Paul ever in public. Because he's like, I'm committed to the character. I don't want people to know. Although they will know. Because Pee Wee was so absurd. They knew that wasn't a real person. Also, I didn't know that Pee Wee was. He had done all of stage stuff, but then he just had, like, cameos, like Cheech and Chong movies. Like, he was just Pee Wee Herman. But he wasn't a big deal. But he did, like, a belt, like a bellhop or. And then it slowly morphed into what became the big kid show. But there was a movie first, which is Peewee's Big Adventure.
Mike D
And it was interesting how he felt he didn't get enough credit for that movie because it all went to Tim Burton, even though his name was listed as, like, created by and written by Paul Reubens. Nobody knew.
Amy
Nobody knew. Paul Rubens.
Mike D
Peewee.
Amy
Yeah. But I don't think it's for everybody, because it talks about his entire life, even growing up, where, like, he was just like a. A weirdo art school kid trying to figure out who he was. And he just kind of stumbled into this character that kind of worked. He did it in the small. The Groundlings theater where there were, like, 40 people, but most of those people came for free. There were, like, eight tickets they could sell each week. And they're like, let's move it to a bigger theater. And they did. And that turned out to be massive. And even before they picked the movie up, people in Hollywood were like, this is never going to work. So his, like, agent manager person was like, go and tour this thing around the country to. Just to show you can get butts in seats. Massive tours. Pee Wee Herman. But not comedy, really. Just kind of like, yeah, yeah. Throwing Tootsie Rolls into the crowd. Yeah.
Morgan
It's a pretty amazing two.
Amy
It's two one and a half hour episodes of a full documentary.
Morgan
I'm almost done.
Amy
Almost done, man. When they get. He was a. And I say this as someone. As I looked at him and saw versions of myself. He was a control freak. Everything.
Mike D
Yeah.
Amy
It was. All he did was work. Everything had to be exactly how he wanted it or it wasn't. And you just think a guy like Peewee would just be, like, having fun.
Mike D
Yeah. When they were creating the intro for the show, he'd be like, no, the camera has to move up on this part. This is not in the right location. We need to reshoot that.
Morgan
The Phil Hartman stuff was interesting, too.
Amy
I had no idea that he was a main writer and was one of the first characters in the Groundlings who played the captain or the sailor.
Morgan
Yeah.
Amy
All right, cool. Everybody good there?
Morgan
Yeah.
Amy
Raymond, do you ever watch anything? Yeah, my tv. Watching. I believe my chick's watching that. Annie in Georgia. Yeah. So I watched that passively. I watched Love island passively. Amy. I'll talk about that.
Bobby Bones
Oh, my. I tried to start Love Island. Okay. So my boyfriend's daughter's like. She's 16, and she's obsessed with it. And so I was trying to, you know, find things to talk to her about, so I was like, I'm gonna watch Love island so we can talk about it.
Amy
That's what I do with my wife. She's also 16, so I try to find things to talk about.
Bobby Bones
So I watched. I decided to turn on Love island, and pretty much that's what we got to bond about, except for it wasn't bonding in the way that I thought. Like, I was able to say to her, I was like, I tried to watch Love island, and I was like, I don't get it. It's terrible. And she's like, what? I'm obsessed. I can't stop watching. So that's going to be the end of that bonding. But I was able to tell her I tried. And.
Lunchbox
And what was so bad?
Bobby Bones
I. I don't know. I don't know. There's just, like, these people, and they're thrown on this thing, and they showed up in containers. Now, I didn't start with the og, like, the season one leveling. I guess this is, like, season seven.
Amy
But OG Season one is British, I believe, right?
Bobby Bones
Well, there's a British guy narrating like.
Amy
Are you watching the British? Are you watching the British? Love Island.
Bobby Bones
One of the guys is from. They're from all over. I don't know. They're. They're. They're on this island somewhere, not in America. And they said to save on bills or save. To save the economy or whatever. They shipped them over by boat. Like, they didn't fly them.
Amy
Okay. That's still okay.
Bobby Bones
And he's like, to save on, you know, to keep green. We shipped them over by boat, and then they get out, and then they're just.
Amy
You may watch the UK Version. There's a American version they do in Vegas. Oh.
Bobby Bones
Oh, am I watching?
Morgan
Maybe that's the one your daughter watches.
Bobby Bones
No, no, no. We're watching the same. It's not my daughter.
Amy
That's the bigger one, though, the one you're watching.
Bobby Bones
Daughter. And she. Yes, because she told me about Bella or somebody's name that has a dash a. And I'm like, oh, yeah, she was really sweet and pretty, but they come together in this one place, one by one, they're being introduced, and then they just start kissing and making out. Like, I don't know. I just was like, what's happening?
Amy
She suggested we do that on this show. Oh, we kiss every morning. All of us.
Morgan
It's kind of weird.
Lunchbox
Yeah, that is weird.
Bobby Bones
And like the audio ray, do you find the audio is really bizarre? Like, sometimes the sound will be very normal and then they'll get really loud and then.
Morgan
Oh, because radio's an audio. Ray's an audio guy. Do you notice that?
Amy
Well, I noticed that they don't drink, so they actually have to have conversations. And they're all in great shape. They're all barely wearing anything.
Bobby Bones
That is true. They are wearing thongs.
Amy
And the accents are really interesting. So, yeah, the Australia one's phenomenal. UK is great because they talked, hey, I'll fancy her. I think I'll talk her up. She's pretty good looking. And they all become friends and then they'll play a game where they have to make out with 10 of their friends that they just made. And you watch the American version at all on cbs? I think it's the worst one. Yeah, I've heard that. Yeah. The other ones are better.
Bobby Bones
So you're watching the one maybe that I'm talking about.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Do you. Do you notice anything with the sound?
Amy
No, the sound's good. And then they narrate it. And the narrators are phenomenal. They'll say, a bombshell has entered the villa.
Bobby Bones
Yes.
Amy
And then they'll bring in this slamming hottie. And the guys all leave their chicks and go for it. All right. The hottest girl on the island gets brought in. They're all like, well, nice been talking to you.
Lunchbox
I'm out of here. That's funny.
Bobby Bones
It's great every time I can't get into it, but maybe I need to watch it with Ray or something.
Amy
Yeah, you do. You need to watch it with Ray, please, and report back. That's exactly what you need to do. Okay, cool. Thank you guys. We appreciate you subscribe to the YouTube channel, if you do not mind. Amy, what's on your podcast today?
Bobby Bones
Oh, we. Oh, we talk about a lot of different things, but Kat is a therapist and she rates like. Do you see those things on Instagram where people rate, like, anxiety, like coping methods, like weighted blanket.
Amy
Hey, I think we're on different algorithms. Amy, I'll be honest with you. Rating.
Morgan
I don't get that.
Amy
Mental health things. Yeah, no, no, more like 90s wrestling.
Bobby Bones
And it ends up really funny because she, like, she wasn't like. Some people are like, just very matter of fact. Like they would give it a 1 or a 10. And every single one she's like, well, it depends. And she's just like, considers the nuance there. But we give you a phrase to say if you're wanting to shut something down in a conversation. It's so good. And then also ways to, you know, spice up your relationship.
Amy
Fleshlight.
Morgan
That's one way.
Amy
Oh, boy.
Bobby Bones
No, it's not what you think. What is that?
Amy
All the guys went, yeah, yeah, yeah. And the girls went, don't know what that is.
Morgan
A long time ago, I was at a party where I met the daughter of the owner of the Flashlight. She's like, my dad invented that.
Amy
Like what? Ew. I thought you didn't know what it was.
Bobby Bones
No. Well, now that y' all say it, it was on.
Morgan
What do we say?
Bobby Bones
I know what you said.
Amy
We said Flashlight.
Bobby Bones
It was on a show that I watch.
Amy
What was Love Island?
Bobby Bones
No, maybe just like that. Or Sex in the City or something like that. The updated version. Sex and City. Like, this girl was dating this guy and his son came to visit them and he was sleeping on the couch and she was cleaning the couch and she pulled that out of the couch and he's like, oh, that's my son's flashlight. And I was like, that's how I know what that means.
Morgan
I've never seen one. You saw it.
Amy
I've never seen one. I've only ever made the joke about it. It's like cocaine. I've never actually seen cocaine.
Bobby Bones
Okay, well, it was in the show and the dad was acting like, oh, yeah, that's normal to have. And she was like, okay, I have to get a new couch now. I want to vomit.
Amy
Check out Feeling Things.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, Feeling Things.
Amy
Where they rate flashlights. That's not what you guys do.
Bobby Bones
No, we don't. But it's a fun one.
Amy

The Bobby Bones Show – Episode Summary Release Date: June 10, 2025
In this episode of The Bobby Bones Show, host Bobby Bones and co-hosts Amy, Morgan, and Lunchbox delve into a variety of engaging topics, ranging from societal entitlement issues to a tragic accident involving a country artist. The discussion is enriched with insightful commentary, personal anecdotes, and listener interactions, making it a compelling listen for both regular followers and newcomers.
Timestamp: 04:00 – 04:38
The episode kicks off with a spirited debate about entitlement, sparked by a voicemail from a listener named Kim. Kim shares a joke her son Luke told her:
Kim [04:07]: "What is different about a teacher and a train? One says spit the gum out. The other says coo coo, coo."
This light-hearted exchange segues into a more serious discussion about entitlement. Amy brings up a segment from the "Thursday Post Show," criticizing individuals who expect free tickets to events without putting in the effort to obtain them themselves.
Amy [04:35]: "Instead of whining about not getting free tickets, if you want to go to something, buy them yourself like the general public. You guys sound like complete babies."
The conversation further intensifies as Lunchbox and Morgan defend the idea that some jobs inherently provide perks that the general public does not receive, leading to a spirited exchange about workplace privileges and societal perceptions of entitlement.
Timestamp: 04:48 – 12:09
Bobby introduces a controversial story about a mother who impulsively decided to drive her children to Florida without any prior preparation, sparking a debate in the audience's comments about whether her actions indicate a manic episode or simply a burst of spontaneity.
Bobby Bones [04:48]: "She just put this momentous decision out on social media, and people are split between seeing it as a manic episode or a fun, spontaneous mom moment."
Amy analyzes the situation, weighing the possibility of mental health issues against the perspective of fostering spontaneity and memorable family experiences.
Amy [05:59]: "One way to look at it is as a manic episode, especially if there are signs she's been advised to seek medical help and hasn't followed through. On the other hand, it could be seen as a free-spirited act that creates lasting memories."
The hosts engage in a nuanced discussion about mental health stigma, societal expectations of parenting, and the fine line between impulsive behavior and mental instability. The conversation underscores the importance of understanding context and avoiding snap judgments when evaluating others' actions.
Amy [07:01]: "It really depends on the outcome. If everything went smoothly, it might be seen as a positive experience. But if something went wrong, it could reinforce negative perceptions about her mental state."
Bobby reflects on his own impulsive moments, sharing a personal anecdote to illustrate how easy it is to relate to the mother's actions.
Bobby Bones [09:09]: "There was a time when I thought about just keeping driving without a plan, but thankfully, things worked out for me."
The segment concludes with the hosts emphasizing compassion and the need to withhold judgment until more information is available about such situations.
Timestamp: 39:27 – 42:46
Transitioning to current events, the hosts discuss a tragic incident involving country singer Connor Smith, who was involved in a fatal car accident that claimed the life of Dorothy Dobbins, a 77-year-old pedestrian. The accident occurred around 7:30 PM on Sunday night in downtown Nashville during the CMA Fest.
Amy [39:36]: "Connor was driving a Chevy Silverado north on 3rd Avenue when Dorothy Dobbins was crossing at a marked crosswalk. She was rushed to Vanderbilt Medical Center but sadly did not survive."
Bobby provides additional context about the investigation, noting that initial reports indicate Connor was not under the influence or distracted by his phone at the time of the crash.
Bobby Bones [39:36]: "Police believe Connor failed to yield to a pedestrian, but so far, there's no evidence of inebriation or phone distraction."
The discussion expresses sympathy for all parties involved and touches upon the broader issue of pedestrian safety in busy urban areas, especially during large events. The hosts ponder the factors that contribute to such accidents, including driver awareness and environmental conditions.
Bobby Bones [40:37]: "It's tragic because Nashville is usually bustling, especially during CMA Fest. Something must have gone wrong for him to fail to yield."
Amy shares a personal connection, mentioning that Connor’s mother has appeared on her podcast and highlighting the ripple effects of such tragedies on families and communities.
Amy [42:22]: "Connor’s mother, Jennifer Vickery Smith, has been very gracious despite this tragedy. My heart goes out to both families."
The segment underscores the importance of road safety and the profound impact of accidents on individuals and their loved ones.
Timestamp: 44:14 – 60:04
In this segment, the hosts review and discuss various television shows and movies, offering their critiques and personal ratings.
Bobby Bones [44:22]: "I watched all the episodes and I'm giving it two out of five bankruptcies because it never really delivered."
Lunchbox [46:03]: "I started season two of Squid Game. It's intense and keeps you hooked."
Raymundo [46:15]: "I really liked it and give season one a four out of five. It's an easy watch and very engaging."
Amy provides background on "Hacks," noting its inspiration from real-life comedians like Joan Rivers, and discusses its portrayal of the main character's struggles and comedic brilliance.
Amy [46:23]: "Hacks is based loosely on real-life comedians like Joan Rivers. Deborah Vance's character is a fictional amalgamation, which adds depth to the storytelling."
Bobby shares his humorous attempt to bond with his teenage daughter by watching "Love Island," only to find himself perplexed by its format and appeal.
Bobby Bones [55:03]: "I tried watching Love Island to connect with my daughter, but I just don't get what all the fuss is about."
The hosts laugh over the show's formula, noting its emphasis on romantic interactions and the often superficial nature of reality TV.
Mike D discusses the distinct style of director Wes Anderson, praising the movie's unique dialogue and visual aesthetics while acknowledging that it's a niche film not meant for everyone.
Mike D [50:08]: "Wes Anderson's latest movie feels like an old Hollywood film with very dry and quirky dialogue. It's visually stunning, but it's not for everyone."
Amy delves into Paul Reubens' (Pee Wee Herman) dedication to his character, exploring the thin line between performance and personal identity.
Amy [52:14]: "Pee Wee Herman was so committed to his character that he never allowed himself to appear as Paul Rubin publicly, blurring the lines between actor and persona."
The segment highlights the diversity of opinions among the hosts, showcasing their individual tastes and the dynamic interplay of their discussions.
Throughout the episode, listener voicemails and comments add a personal touch, allowing the hosts to engage directly with their audience. From humorous anecdotes to serious observations, the interactions enrich the conversation and provide varied perspectives on the topics discussed.
Amy [58:15]: "Kat is a therapist and she rates mental health coping methods, which adds a valuable layer to our discussions."
The episode concludes with a recap of upcoming events, sponsor messages, and a teaser for the next episode's content, encouraging listeners to stay tuned for more insightful conversations.
