What's up everybody? Welcome to Wednesday show morning studio morning. It's the anonymous in box. Anonymous in box. There's a question to be had. S it into the mailbag. Hello, Bobby Bones. I've been with my girlfriend for a little over three years. We've talked seriously about marriage. I'm ready to propose and her family loves me. I'm confident I'll get a yes. I was thinking of doing it at her parents house on Thanksgiving since everyone will be together. But when I floated the idea to a few friends, they told me loudly not to do it. They said it's hijacking the holiday and that proposal shouldn't compete with family traditions. I don't see it that way, but I'm second guessing myself. And is Thanksgiving a time to propose or is it inappropriate? Sign Turkey Day proposal. So I don't feel like you're hijacking the holiday as long as you don't do it at the dinner. If you like, say, okay, everybody, before we take our first bites.

Yeah. I don't feel like Thanksgiving is one of those where you're taking something from someone. I don't think you can outdo Thanksgiving because I don't think it's out. It's not to outdo or underdo.

If you were to pick a holiday, that might be an okay one to do. Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving probably. I don't know that I would do Christmas morning. Depends on the vibe.

I wouldn't do Christmas at all.

Right. But Thanksgiving feels okay. Especially if family is important. People being together is important. You have everybody gathered in one place. But yeah, it's just finding the right time over the day or two that you're with everybody.

Yeah. Thanksgiving is. Christmas is junior varsity big time. Like no doubt. So it's not. It's important, but it's just a warm up. You're warming up for Christmas at Thanksgiving, man. Sometimes you don't even go because you know you're gonna go to Christmas at the house, you know, and it's two trips that are so quick. But so, bro, don't do it at the dinner. But I don't think there's anything wrong with doing it with everybody there. That's all I say. And I think your gut will lead you the direction. Don't listen to these friends. If you want to do it, do what you want to do. Because if you were saying, should we do it on Christmas morning while everybody's opening presents.

I don't think. I don't even think Christmas Day is the day to do that, but I think Thanksgiving is fine. Would you agree?

Yeah. All right. There you go. All right. Dancing with the Stars last night, the big finale. And man, what a resurgence and ratings that show has had. It's really cool to see, especially because the guy that works is like the head of BBC, which has that in America. Like, he was like, my friend because I worked over there at BBC for a long time. It's so cool. Last night. Spoiler. It's not a spoiler. Was a live event. You know our rules.

It's like football.

Sports. Yes. But spoiler. We'll do one more time. Spoiler. Robert Irwin wins. I thought Robert when he wasn't the best overall dancer. But the best overall dancer doesn't win the show. Rarely does the best overall dancer win the show. There have been some cases. Yeah, but he wasn't the best. But he was good. And he was most likable. And his sister won it. Bendy back in the day. It's crazy to see the pictures when she won and she's holding the trophy and he's like nine standing backstage. Dancing with the Stars. So I thought it was super cool. Seems like a really nice kid. Alex, Earl and Val finished second. The real toxicity online was those two fan bases fighting with each other the whole time.

Yeah. So it's weird after that show is over because you've been doing that every day for three or four months. It's like an adjustment period. Like, for me at least, I was working the whole time. And so I just. I came back to work. But, man, like, you're with somebody every. Especially if you go a long ways on that show with them every day, all the time. And then all of a sudden it's just, like, gone. It's odd. As soon as the show's over last night, there's a small party for the winners and for everybody. I did not get to go to our party when I won because I had to go to work. I had to drive across town and we had to do the show and record it for the next morning. So I did not get to go to my winners Party because I was wanted to be with you guys. Thank you, man.

And then they have the big ABC Disney jet ready to take everybody to New York because you do Good Morning America the morning after the show. And I show up, I'm a little late because I had to work. Everybody's waiting on me. And they're also kind of irritated. Everybody's nice, but everybody's tired. Everybody's kind of irritated. One, I was late. Two, because they lost.

They lost. And I'm in there with the. Holding the trophy.

They probably thought, like, look at this guy. Like, you want the trophy, you can be late. But you were working.

You walked on holding it. They didn't pack it up in that. Oh, that's awkward.

Oh, that's cool.

As soon as you get it, they tell you, don't let go of it. Like, people are going to want to take pictures with it. They may break it. They're like, as soon as we hand this to you, hold on to this trophy. And then they give you a box to put it in. Like, like to go through the airport. But no, at the time, I just had the trophy. And everybody's on that plane trying to get, trying to sleep because it's like a six hour flight. And you wake up and you go right to Good Morning America. Nobody has any sleep. And then the people who didn't win, they only get talked to a little bit. So they're making all the. And then the person who does win is like the belle of the ball. But my problem was I got there and someone had hacked my Twitter. Do you guys remember this?

And I'm like talking with Morgan, like, somebody hacked my Twitter while I was on Good Morning America. And they hacked it to be like, bobby sucks. He should have never won. We couldn't get back in. And I'm like, this is gone. This is crazy.

Dang.

And so you do Good Morning America and then you go as the winner and you do a little bit of press, but you're exhausted because you've practiced all day, all night, flown all night, your adrenaline's pumping, it falls. You do Good Morning America. Then you go do. And you sit in a room with your partner and you do press and all these outlets.

That's crazy.

And then they just cut you and they're like, okay, you're free. And so you kind of look at your partner and go, well, I think this is it. And it was really the. I've seen Sharna since she came and did the Million dollar show, our charity show. Afterwards, she came and we did, like, a little dance that might be other than, like, texting or FaceTime or. We did. I did her podcast. I've never. I've not seen her since, like, in human form. So it's like, okay. Because I also don't live in Los Angeles. A lot of them do. And it's just like, you're free. You go. And there's just an adjustment period, and it's. It's a really cool experience. But they won, and that's cool. I was happy they won it. Kind of. The fifth place person was the Parent Trap lady.

Yeah. And I figured that was what's gonna. I called it out. I was like, fifth place. And Caitlyn's like, why are you yelling? Because I was watching my phone. Normally it happens. She watches basketball games while I watch Dancing with the Stars. And then I think Dylan was fourth. Jordan, the UCLA gymnast, Olympic gymnast, was third. Alex was second. They brought. Oh, they did the Seacrest. They brought Alex Earl down, and they brought Robert Irwin down beside the trophy. And they said in. The winner is the person. We tell you after the break.

Yeah. Good season. Great season. Actually, the. It's so great that I got brought back into the conversation. Like, that's how big the season was. Not because I was good, but because it was so. It was ubiquitous with anywhere you looked. It was all. So when I get brought back into something from six, seven years ago, you know, it's big because I had nothing to do with it. I didn't even go. I mean, I couldn't go. But, yeah, what a season. There's a good podcast with Kaitlyn Bristow that I did. It's up on the Bobby cast. She had. Everybody has difficulties with their partner because you're just in a relationship with a professional athlete. That relationship is. You're there every day working hard. They're pushing you as hard as you can push. And she talks about that. She was like. Her mom was a professional ballerina, and Kaitlyn Bristow was a great dancer. Yeah, she was one who was probably the best dancer on her season. But she was like. Because she was good. He pushed her so hard. And she was like, I would just, like, cry. I was like, tell it, sister.

Pretty much went to bed early, just worked out a little bit. Hung out with Stephenson, and then I wasn't feeling that great. So put on A Christmas movie. And which one? The someone that. A new one that just got loaded up to Netflix. But it's not from Netflix. It's from like 2023 or 2024. About a barbershop. Who's of the twins, Tia and Tim?

Yeah, yeah. She's got like a salon, she's trying to create her own hair care line and this new guy moves to town with a wine.

First of all, I like the CMA organization very much so very appreciative for the work they do in the community and the work they do with country music. I kind of been blackballed from the TV show and so you would think I would be like, yay, bad ratings, but I don't.

Bobby Bones
No, kinda it is sometimes. Let's be honest. Okay, kinda it is. But thank you for stepping in and protecting me. Yeah, kinda it is. But it's not here because I wanna tell you why they released the TV ratings for the 2025 CMA Awards. They are at an all time low. The show had 16.1 million viewers in 2014. This year, 6.4 million viewers. 2025, 11 years. It's very unfair because everything is going down. Yeah, everything is going. I would love to go. You know what? Since they didn't put me on, it bombed.

However, it's not true. Yeah, you can recognize that our attention is so divided in like so many directions, right?

Bobby Bones
Attention is divided. More things like you said to watch, we have less attention span because even if we're on it, we're not going to stay on anything. That's crazy.

Morgan
They're singing a song that's longer than eight seconds. Okay.

Bobby Bones
I think what they'll have to do eventually is they'll have to stop these artists from doing unknown Songs, because some of the artists will only go on if they can do their song, their new single, because they want to promote their new single. And it's always a tug with producers because they want the big acts, but they want them to do a massive hit. So some people, they'll let them do a new song. It's why sometimes you hear songs that are just so new to, like, radio or streaming. So I want to say me being not allowed on that show did not make the ratings bad. I wish it did. It's. I think the ratings actually were pretty good, considering everything goes down. The only thing that's gone up is Dancing with the Stars.

Yeah, it's had a resurgence, massively. Like high schooler. Like my boyfriend's daughter, she was obsessed this season. Like, she did not. Like she would get home from studying, be like, I have to go shower and get in front of the couch. Dancing with the Stars about to start. And I'm like, what? She's like, yeah, it's all the. It's all we talk about.

A couple reasons, that is one, just in general, the ability for them to use TikTok as a weapon and a tool has made that show super cool because everything's going viral. A lot of the same people when I was on there, the same dancers, and it's not like they have a good cast, but it's not like the cast is, like, crazy super famous. They got Alex Earl, and they're like, it's full of influencers. It's one influencer, Alex Earl, who finished second last night. Robert Irwin did win, which we talked about a few minutes ago, but they use TikTok wonderfully, which also allows people to see more of who they are. I felt like one of the advantages I had when I did the show was that I used not TikTok, but Instagram and even Twitter, like, heavy. Because we do it for this show a lot. And so I was able to do that a lot, and I think that helped me. But, yeah, the CMAs down, they love big headlines. Lowest ratings in history, and was it. Yes. But is everything else except for football and Dancing with the Stars. Yes. And it stayed close enough to last year that I think that's a win.

Listen, I would have loved if they said only four people watch the CMAs, because I'd have been like, it's because they've blackballed me from the show.

I would just like to say, for the record, misleading headline, factually accurate headline, but misleading headline at the same time. Because they want the lowest in history. It sucks. It didn't suck. It's a great show. Oh, it hurts me to say that.

Yeah, I watched it. I thought it was really great. And Lainey killed it. And also with the music thing, what they did with Old Dominion with their performances, that was awesome because they did like multiple of their hits and I don't know, I really enjoyed that medley.

They even at the end of this article say, are viewers just sick of award shows? No, because it did well enough to be close to even last year. Anyway, I hate defending someone that I'm having a little battle with, but eventually we'll get over it. And it's not again, I like the CMA organization. It's. The head producer of that show has decided to keep me off the show.

But I do also understand their feelings about it. I would even like to patch up the relationship, and I never want to patch anything up.

Oh, yeah, 10 years or way longer. And like, I will pin it on a board and go, okay, you may have me right now, but one day you're going to come to me hat in hand, begging. And sometimes I spent 10 years. Still hasn't happened with some people, but one day. So yeah, I stick up for the show. Do you think the ratings dip was because some of the biggest stars weren't there? No, some of the biggest stars were.

Yeah, they were there.

Morgan doesn't go. Morgan Wallen doesn't go ever. Because he. Well, he's been there before, I believe. But he got in trouble, obviously, and that whole situation happened and he wasn't like, allowed. And he was like, all right, screw it, I'm not going anymore. But one artist doesn't make or break. I mean, George Strait showed up, so that's what's up. Just wanted to share that. Yay. Dancing with the stars CMAs. And we had Lainey on today. And this has nothing to do with that. I just saw the story CMAs were good. I wish they were bad. And even though it says lowest ratings in history, I think it's still a great rating as compared to what last year was. And also, also, nobody cares about ratings like normal humans don't. Even though we spent six minutes talking about it. So did you watch Dancing with the Stars?

No, because I wasn't at my boyfriend's house. Had I been over there, we would have watched it. But I did see some clips this morning and was happy with the results.

Classic. All right, that's it. It's time for the good news with Bobby. All right, I got a story here about people in Atlanta and how they rallied to help Tiffany McLeod reunite with her dog. So I love dog stories. She had turned Lola over to these. This animal services because she was homeless. And then every day she would check in just to see her dog and pet her dog and, like, be with her dog. And so she was with the shelter. She's like, hey, if somebody comes along and can take care of the dog, that's great. But I love the dog. She kept showing up. She kept showing up. And so rescue me. ATL shared the story online. And so somebody came to foster the dog. The person who came to foster the dog was once homeless also.

Yeah. So then the story got out because of all of that. Right. Just like, I got, like, chills on my neck how even the person who adopted the dog temper at fostering the dog. So $15,000 came in through a donation. One of those websites. I don't think it was GoFundMe. And then she was able to get back with her dog, and now she has a place that she's living.

Like, that's my favorite kind of story.
