Paul Verze here, and I want to
Bobby Bones
talk to you about Paul's best podcast, Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network and iHeartRadio. I sit down each week with a special guest, and we discuss the absolute best of things. Pete Davidson.
Eddie
It's that and then there's everything else.
Lunchbox
Dude, his whole life has sounded like
Bobby Bones
the first drop of a roller coaster. I mean, I can't even tell you,
Lunchbox
Paul, how crazy it was.
Bobby Bones
It was insane. Listen to Paul's best podcast on the iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
Lunchbox
Hey, everybody.
Amy
I'm Tareka Fosta Brasby.
Bobby Bones
What's up, y'?
Lunchbox
All?
Amy
I'm your girl, Sheryl Swoops. When you tune in to a new episode of our podcast, Levels to this, you're definitely gonna get some spicy WNBA analysis. But we're more than just hoops, and the real conversation is what we actually bring. It's been really, really cool seeing kind of these women just really step into their power off the court and understand that they are basketball right? And they're not asking for permission. Listen to levels to this with Sheryl Swoopes and Tarika Foster brasby on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. When Democrats are messing up, I say it. When Republicans are messing up, I say it. I'm Essie Cupp, a journalist and political commentator, and on my podcast, off the Cup, I help you make sense of the often nonsensical news. I do this on cable news, too, but on my podcast, I can really let loose and be my honest, unfiltered self. I just want to talk about something that happened this week because it's so bonkers, so stupid, such incredibly bad politics. We have to talk about it. Come for the hot takes. Stay for the sanity. Listen to off the cup on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. When teenager Joy Morgan discovered the religious group Israel United in Christ, she believed she'd found the truth. Many believe she found a cult. Then she disappeared. The new podcast, the Missing Sister, explores her story, the family she left and the religious group she found.
Eddie
You know when you get that feeling like you just, I don't want to be here. I want to get out. I kind of want to go hang out.
Amy
All episodes available now to binge listen to the Missing sister on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Bobby Bones
The Bobby Bone Show Everybody roll.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
We were talking about this couple and they go for a vacation. They go have a cruise, and before they go out on the boat, she's like, ah, my stomach hurts. Boom. Baby didn't even know she was pregnant. So we get into that. You can check out the podcast from yesterday, but when we talk about that, so many people call in and go, oh, yeah, hit that one.
Amy
The woman on the cruise not knowing she was pregnant. I actually have a personal story with this. So my cousin, him and his girlfriend, this happened to them. They were going on a trip. He was actually going to go propose to her in la. And on their way there, she had to stop at the emergency room. She thought she was having appendicitis and it turned out she was having a baby. We had been around her multiple times, my family, in those nine months and none of us knew anything. She had her period, no symptoms. So it does happen. It's crazy, but I believe her 100%. Love the show. Bye.
Bobby Bones
And I do tend to believe people more if they're married and in a relationship, because I can understand hiding it and not wanting people to know. If you got pregnant and you're like, oh, no, I don't want to be pregnant. Then you go, oh, my God, I didn't know I was pregnant. How'd that happen? I get that. But whenever it's a couple, we've been married seven years, we've been trying to. And holy crap, a baby came out.
Amy
Right.
Bobby Bones
I do believe that a little more. Just from my experience, which is one we knew. My wife was.
Amy
It was so obvious.
Eddie
So obvious.
Bobby Bones
But because it's like that for one person doesn't mean for everyone. And these are very, very, very rare. But that is crazy because imagine all the things you're not doing while pregnant. Not doing the vitamins, not doing the making sure you don't drink alcohol, smoking cigarettes, smoking weed. Yeah, well, I mean, I don't know that everybody does that. You guys went hard.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I mean, like, shooting up.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So. And then what I'd like to do is track all these babies that came out of nowhere and then see how healthy they are through their lives. And it turns out all the stuff we're supposed to be doing is, like, too much. And these are all extremely healthy, super strong, almost superhero type babies.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
So I believe it. Not all of them, but I believe it. That's a crazy one. There's also a story this is bad news for someone on the show as Nissan is killing the Altima.
Lunchbox
What?
Bobby Bones
Mm.
Amy
Why?
Lunchbox
Why Would they do that? So. Oh, my goodness.
Bobby Bones
Lunchbox's last car. And the car he still has, but he rides his bike to. I was gonna say school, to work. Now most days he has an Altima still at home. It's his car. And they're killing the Altima sedan based on what the head of product planning in North America says. He says they're going to give the grown up Sinatra more space to stretch its legs.
Lunchbox
Oh, no.
Bobby Bones
Car driver.
Lunchbox
That is like a classy car. I look at it as a class. What?
Eddie
What?
Bobby Bones
Your Ultima?
Lunchbox
Yes. I don't even know what that other one you called it was the Sinatra. Don't know what that is.
Amy
Well, I mean, yeah, I've seen it.
Bobby Bones
Well, where the problem is going to lie for you is if you want to continue fixing your car, eventually they're gonna age out of people knowing how to do it. The parts aren't being made, that type thing. But you should get rid of it now. Go, move on. Where is it now? At your house?
Lunchbox
Right in front of the house. Like right on the curb.
Bobby Bones
How long has it been sitting there?
Lunchbox
Two years.
Bobby Bones
You have a car sitting on the curb on your street that's been there for two years?
Lunchbox
Yeah, but I take the blower out there so there's no leaves or grass around it.
Eddie
Do you wash it?
Lunchbox
No.
Eddie
Okay.
Lunchbox
No, no. It has like soot and like SAP from the tree. But I do make sure that there's no like stick build up or anything. So it looks like it's been there for a while.
Bobby Bones
That's good. We all hate stick build up. You've left a car there for two years?
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Do your neighbors get annoyed at that?
Lunchbox
Not really. I mean, they haven't said. I mean, the one across the street does. He's like, oh, man, car still there. And I don't understand why it bothers him because he lives across the street. Like, you're not even. Like you're not even parking on my side.
Bobby Bones
It's not about parking. It's that there's an old car just sitting on the street for two years.
Lunchbox
That's true. I mean, I just don't think it affects them in any way. And I. And I just. One day I think someone's going to stop at the house. But hey, man, you want me to work on that car?
Bobby Bones
Oh, that's your fantasy.
Lunchbox
That is what I think about. I always think about people that, you know, you hear their stories about. They knock on the door, hey, I want to buy your car. Hey, you need help Fixing your car.
Eddie
That happened to me.
Lunchbox
See, that's what I mean.
Eddie
My Ford Focus, somebody knocked on my door, said, hey, I saw that car sitting out there. You want to sell it?
Bobby Bones
Oh, well, that's a different.
Eddie
Not fix it, but like. But they. I guess they bought it to fix it up.
Lunchbox
Correct.
Bobby Bones
Did that car, I don't know, drive?
Eddie
I mean, it could drive, but I hadn't driven in a while because there was problems with it.
Bobby Bones
Okay. His doesn't even drive.
Lunchbox
No, it doesn't turn on.
Bobby Bones
If you try to trade yours in,
Lunchbox
they give you probably negative money.
Bobby Bones
Now you have to give them money to take it and take it. You ever learned how to drive stick?
Amy
No, I tried, and my dad gave up on me. Yeah, well, my sister, her very first car was standard. And so the natural progression of cars and families most of the time is whatever. The older kid drove that. Then the next one up, I was going to get her car. Right. Well, my dad was like, well, I'll be damned.
Bobby Bones
How long, though, did you guys try?
Amy
We're going to have to get you a different car. Enough to where he knew this was probably not a good idea for me. I mean, obviously with my sister, she picked up on it pretty quickly because that was her first car. And he didn't even blink an eye. He's like, okay, she's got this with me. I guess, you know, our brains are different. I don't know.
Bobby Bones
Only 0.6% of vehicles now are being built with a stick shift. Almost none.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And if so, it's a specialty. Arkansas. Keith taught me how to drive stick,
Amy
pick up pretty quickly.
Bobby Bones
I don't know that anybody picks it up super quick, but I think I did okay. But where I struggled was because I got so nervous on hills.
Eddie
Going backwards, going backward, and there'd be
Bobby Bones
a car behind me.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
That to me was that of nightmares.
Amy
I get nervous on hills with the automatic. There's a stop sign I have to go to sometimes. And like, whenever I have to take off from it, I'm like, oh, no, I'm rolling backwards.
Bobby Bones
Why was it automatic? It's not going to roll backwards.
Amy
It freaks me out.
Bobby Bones
I can't explain it with the stick, though. When you have to put your foot on the clutch, could it fall? You know, it falls back. It's basically a neutral.
Amy
Yes.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Amy
The whole thing was just too much
Bobby Bones
when I had to get my CDL to drive Big rig, obviously you have to know how to drive stick.
Eddie
Are those all stick?
Bobby Bones
I don't know about all the one that I drove was wow. But it was stick up on the. Up on the wheel. Steering wheel.
Eddie
Oh, so you just shifted on the
Bobby Bones
wheel so it still clutches and it's double clutch.
Eddie
I don't even know what that means. That sounds so crazy.
Bobby Bones
And I forget what they call that. Stick on the wheel, shift on the circle.
Lunchbox
You truckers.
Eddie
I don't know that lingo.
Bobby Bones
What's it called when you got stick shift on the steering wheel? It's like six on the hands wheel on the circle.
Amy
I have no idea.
Lunchbox
Never heard that.
Eddie
I've heard four on the floor, but that's not it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, they got something too. The truckers will be like, oh, you driving the old circle on the. But yeah, that was tough. So let's see, three on the tree.
Amy
That's what it's called.
Bobby Bones
I'm just reading stuff. I just googled this. I don't remember. But yeah, that was tough. I wonder what was harder, me learning to drive a double clutch 18 wheeler. Are you learning to drive your sister's truck?
Amy
Yeah, I don't know. It was a car, but. Little teeny tiny one.
Eddie
Oh, really?
Bobby Bones
And it was a small one.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I was driving Keith's truck.
Eddie
Yeah. Usually trucks were stick and his was
Bobby Bones
teaching me was a bit selfish in nature because needed me to go pick him up in the woods like he did. We'd send the dogs out, he'd go cut the dogs off and then I have to go pick him up somewhere. And so I probably learned earlier than I should have. I was like nine, looking over the steering wheel trying to find him. I wasn't nine.
Amy
I'm kind of glad it didn't work out because then I got a Bronco.
Eddie
There we go. It worked out for the best.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, you could have long played that.
Amy
What do you mean?
Bobby Bones
Weaponizing competence to get a nicer car?
Amy
No. Well, I don't know that my car was. I mean my car was. The Bronco was pretty old, but it still was cool. But it's not like it was new and expensive or anything. It's still like. The crazy thing is when I got the Bronco and he surprised me with it, I remember seeing it for sale on the corner of like at this business by my high school. And I was like one day it was for sale and I was like, oh, that car's so cool. And then it was gone.
Eddie
Yeah.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Amy
He didn't even know that I saw it there for sale. And then he was hiding it somewhere. It was. Yeah, that was special. Special moment. Yeah. And then when we Got the car. Like, he put one of those big bows on it.
Bobby Bones
We went, no, that's always cool. Like, TV commercial.
Amy
It was so close. It's pretty cool.
Bobby Bones
That's cool. All right, back in a second, Bones. We're talking about Scott Peterson yesterday. He's in jail for killing Lacy Peterson, who is his wife. And there's a documentary out, and we said, amy, you should watch it. How much have you seen of it?
Amy
All of it.
Bobby Bones
You watch both episodes?
Amy
Yes. And it's a little rough because I had to do commercials, but they do have a generous offer where you can watch two minutes of commercials without being interactive, or you can watch 30 seconds of commercial as long as you pay attention and you're interactive.
Bobby Bones
That feels like when I take driver's ed for getting a ticket, like, 12 years ago, where I had to make sure that I was actually taking the test on the computer.
Amy
So I shaved some time off by being an interactive commercial person.
Bobby Bones
What does that mean, interactive?
Amy
Well, it starts the commercial, and you have to click for sound. If you don't click for sound, it's going to throw you to the two minutes.
Bobby Bones
That's so funny. I've never heard of that before.
Amy
And then at when it ends, if you want your show to start back, you have to click the sound again, and it'll start playing again, but then it'll pop up. Keep watching your show, and then you click on that. So really, about 35 seconds, and you're good.
Bobby Bones
It quizzes you about Tide Pods from the commercial.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Wow. Okay, that's.
Amy
So I was able to get through it.
Bobby Bones
What did you watch it on, though, to do that?
Amy
Annie? Mike sent me the link. I clicked on that both episodes were there. It was pretty easy. I put my AirPods in some of it. I could walk around and listen to it like a podcast.
Bobby Bones
It's your computer. A and E. Yep. Okay. So you watch on your laptop.
Amy
Yeah. But I assume you could watch on your phone, too.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, Yeah. I was saying, like, for television. I don't know how you would do the.
Amy
Oh, yeah. I don't know. I didn't. I didn't do.
Bobby Bones
I'm blown away. That you can do interactive commercials for.
Amy
Yeah, that was a little fun.
Bobby Bones
Okay, I'm getting off off topic here.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Scott Peterson murders wife. He's in prison. This documentary is supposed to show that. Maybe he didn't.
Lunchbox
What?
Bobby Bones
What do you feel now?
Amy
I'm thinking maybe he didn't.
Eddie
Oh, my gosh.
Amy
You know, but this is always the thing with me, and I've about me for a long, long time. I would be a horrible juror because whoever presented last, that's who I'm going to believe, as long as they were good at what they're doing.
Bobby Bones
The defense would always present last, though.
Amy
Well, then, lucky for them, he's free. That's why I would be a horrible juror. I mean, unless something was so blatantly obvious. But with this, I just really feel like we, as the public were so led to believe one thing. And the news played a role in that, for sure. And. And there is new evidence. I know that yesterday we talked about how the mom. Her mom was saying. I don't think there's any new evidence. Well, no, there is. There's evidence that was not shared in court. There was stuff that was destroyed by the cops.
Bobby Bones
And when that happens, you're.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Amy
So like, to their point, even if he. If Scott Peterson is guilty, the fact that evidence was finagled in any way, shape or form, and there should be a new trial. And also, habeas corpus.
Eddie
What does that mean?
Bobby Bones
What do you think it means?
Eddie
Corpus is. It's probably Latin. So corpus would be body, Amy.
Amy
Okay. Requiring a person under arrest to be brought before a judge or in court, especially to secure the person's real. Wait, I was trying to read the exact definition.
Bobby Bones
She does Miranda rights. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say.
Amy
Oh, here we go. Sorry. I got it. I got it. Now, in Latin, habeas corpus means you should have the body. It requires a judge to literally have a detainee. I don't know what this means, guys.
Eddie
No. Yeah, you got to have the body for. To be.
Amy
No, but I don't know exactly what it means. I just heard it a lot in the documentary and I thought I understood exactly what it meant. But here's the thing. Her. Her body or evidence of her being murdered, like blood specks. But that is.
Lunchbox
You have.
Bobby Bones
You need to have the body. That is habeas corpus before you.
Amy
Well, her body did float up in the.
Bobby Bones
Okay, but that is what habeas corpus. That is.
Eddie
Go ahead.
Amy
Okay. Anywhere he was there, there's no sign of a murder at all, whatsoever. You would think there'd be a slip up of a speck of something. Nothing. Nothing. And the way the water tides flow now, they have new technology that shows you where the body washed up. It wouldn't have been dropped where they say he dropped it. And they also tried to make it seem like she didn't know they had a boat. He was the one Buying the boat for his father in law. Coincidentally right around the time where he needed a boat to go drop a body. You know, they built this whole story around that. Well, there is evidence inside their house on post. It notes or her handwriting shows that she was calling marinas. Like she probably very well knew that they were getting a boat.
Bobby Bones
What if he didn't do it?
Amy
I know.
Bobby Bones
And he's been in jail all this time and he's been villain number one. So what is your theory? Let's say you have to create a second theory from what you saw.
Amy
Well, the robbery that happened across the street, I'm now paying a lot of attention to that. And let's just say in case other people want to watch this, I don't want to ruin it, but there's a van.
Bobby Bones
Oh, when someone says there's a van, I know that is not good.
Amy
There's a van that was burned.
Bobby Bones
So there's so much circumstantial evidence that they got him on. So much. And if the cops manipulated anything, and they did, because why would you other than to have successful guilty. That's why you manipulate stuff, you hide stuff, you get rid of stuff.
Amy
And I will say the Los Angeles Innocence Project and anybody involved in this documentary, they did do a good job of like, okay, well, we could see why they probably did this. But here's now this new perspective. It wasn't so blatantly like Scott's innocent. It was more of how the trial wasn't handled properly.
Bobby Bones
There's another trial, the Pamela Smart trial from back in the day. Do you remember her?
Amy
Did her and her boyfriend kill her husband or something?
Bobby Bones
15 year old boyfriend? Yeah. It's crazy to remember that. Good job. Ah, look at you. She is serving a life sentence without parole for being convicted of orchestrating a 1990 murder of her husband, Greg Smart. Prosecutors argued that she persuaded her 15 year old lover, William Billy Flynn, to kill her husband so they could be together. Flynn admitted a shooting and testified against her, as did three other teenagers. She was convicted in 1991 and of all of that, including witness tampering. But she's back in the news because they've asked for a new trial. Oh. So the judge has taken it under advisement. He plans to rule in the next 30 to 60 days. The shooter, who was 15 at the time, was freed in 2015 after a 25 year sentence. So her petition for habeas corpus, which that is Latin for you gotta have a body, that's Latin for that. But mostly it's you get it Right.
Eddie
Yeah, I understand.
Amy
Yeah, I get it now. I just wish I would have used it properly to begin with.
Bobby Bones
She seeks to overturn her conviction over what her lawyers claim were several constitutional violations. So that's from Newser? Yeah. That story's crazy, huh?
Amy
Mm.
Bobby Bones
It was almost like there was another teacher that got hurt. Is this the same teacher like Jeff? No, she had him go to the door and shoot the person.
Lunchbox
Jeff Gillooly.
Bobby Bones
Jeff Gillooly. I thought it was Tanya Harding.
Eddie
That is Tonya Harding.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. I thought that was Nancy Kerrigan. Tanya Harding.
Amy
Oh, I don't know if that's the same person. Now that you said he was 15. I forgot his age, but it's like
Bobby Bones
she went and shot. The other story I'm thinking of is she went and shot the woman who was married to the guy, and the guy had her go. Remember that one? Like the 90s?
Eddie
No.
Bobby Bones
I bet you I can ask Chad. Gbg. Let me ask. Hey, we're talking about news stories from back in the day, and there was a story where a young woman went and shot the wife of a guy at her front door because she had an affair with the guy. Do you remember that news story from back in the day? Maybe. This sounds a lot like the Carolyn Warm US case from the late 80s. That's not it. She was a young
Eddie
AI. Sounds like us.
Bobby Bones
There's another one. It was a very famous case. Amy Fisher is Amy. Amy Fisher ring a bell? Yeah, Amy Fisher. Totally fits that. In 1992, Amy Fisher went to her lover's house, knocked on the door, and shot his wife, Mary Jo Buttafuko. Oh. National tabloid obsession in the early 90s. Teenage Long Island Melita Headlines. Mary Jo survived and later spoke out publicly. Does that sound like what you're thinking of? Yep. You nailed it. Thank you. Hope you have a good day. You too.
Amy
I get it. Were you confused? But if you go with Gluly.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Amy
Or they, you know. Yeah, they're both, like, strong Italian names. Yeah, that's like, maybe. Whatever. Okay, fine.
Bobby Bones
I put up an Instagram yesterday on the Bobby Bone show account, and I was talking about Raymundo continuing to chase his dream. We don't want you to give up on your dream of playing Papa Shot basketball.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Have you thought about that?
Eddie
I ain't giving up on that.
Bobby Bones
Are you still gonna train? Oh, yeah, I trained, I think a day or two ago, and my wife said, are you crazy? This last month, you've shot a million balls. Can you just please give me a week off? And so I do this thing going, I don't want Ray to give up his dream. If you guys ever got close to your dream and had to give up, hit me up in the comments. And Amy put a pregnant person.
Eddie
Amy.
Amy
I just thought that was kind of funny. It's an emoji. No, I wasn't being. I was trying. I was being. I know it's not a funny topic, but sometimes you gotta laugh to get through it, you know? And that's one of the things, like, that was a dream of mine. I mean, stay at home mom was my. In my high school yearbook. I didn't get to do either of those things.
Lunchbox
Wow.
Amy
I didn't get to be pregnant or become a stay at home mom.
Bobby Bones
Someone else from Papa Shot. Josh Cat. Papa Shot wrote, Right. You know who that is? Caputo. Oh, yeah, yeah. But I think it's just Josh. Ca. Papa Shot.
Amy
Mm.
Bobby Bones
I regret underperforming at Papa Palooza, not being able to go up against Sizzle and Raimundo in the bracket. So there's a lot of people that were going, yeah, I tried. And for some reason, it popped up. And I really regret not continuing to chase my dreams. And then some people were just like, I always wanted to be this when I grew up. That wasn't chasing your dream. That just wanted to be an astronaut or something. But, yeah, you go look at the comments over at Bobby Bones show. People were, like, training for marathons and they didn't do it. They decided not to do it when it was a week out from the race, like, overwhelmed them. Some people got started towards a PhD and stopped because in different ways, life hit them. So, yeah, I hope everybody, you know, gets back, get those dreams going. Raymond, I'm mostly talking to you. Don't give up. You're a guy now. We're following you. Yeah, no, I'm definitely not giving up on. I still got my machine. And we have a whole year now to train and get scuba up to par and speed, and it'll be good. So you want scuba? Yeah. You need the seat or the. What are they? The street line Swishers. They have a whole team of three guys that were all at Papa Palooza. And, I mean, they got that camaraderie going on. I was a solo mission out there, like hand slapping myself.
Eddie
Oh, they play in teams?
Lunchbox
No, they don't, but they train together.
Bobby Bones
They just travel together. Yeah, just.
Eddie
Okay, got it.
Bobby Bones
Live close to each other.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
They buy the same T shirt. Scuba. Any luck with us getting a machine?
Eddie
Yes, well, they Just finished that Vegas thing. And the woman that I was talking to said to give her a couple of weeks and they're going to look at getting something set up for us.
Bobby Bones
And no chance on Ray getting in Orlando?
Eddie
Yeah, no chance for. I get in Orlando.
Amy
Yeah.
Lunchbox
Dang. Yeah.
Eddie
So he has to work hard at it for next year, which is fine.
Bobby Bones
He. This year was our first try at it.
Eddie
He got pretty dang far, I think got in that competition. So next year we go for the gold.
Bobby Bones
Can you imagine if I went to Orlando? It just like a celeb entry. Those people would hate me.
Eddie
Yeah, they'd be pretty pissed, dude.
Bobby Bones
The whole league, the whole community would. Except you finished top eight in the Vegas tournament. So that happens in professional golf all the time. Yeah, just that kind of an exemption. This is a pretty tight community. I honestly think there might be a fight if I showed up at Orlando. Eddie, all the salsa that you sold.
Eddie
Oh, my gosh, dude. I opened up a can of worms. I mean, this is crazy.
Lunchbox
The.
Eddie
The demand for the salsa is unbelievable.
Bobby Bones
Are you able to keep up? Are you cooking?
Eddie
I'm trying to keep up. So basically I'm. The hard part is not cooking or producing the salsa. That. That I can do. And I have help, you know, like, my wife can help me, whatever, but it's meeting the people.
Bobby Bones
Well, why don't you have somebody else once you hire someone to do that for you?
Eddie
Yeah, I might have to, because meeting the people is tough. Like, you have to be like, hey, can you meet me here at 2 o' clock on Thursday? And they're like, oh, I can do Friday. I'm like, oh, my gosh. Like, okay, so you do Friday, and then I'll meet these people on Thursday and then those people on Monday. It's becoming to be. It's too much.
Bobby Bones
Are you getting reviews on your salsa?
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
People liking it?
Eddie
Yeah. Yeah. The only bad review, like, people are like, oh, it tastes so good. This is unbelievable. I need more jars. People are reordering jars, which is.
Amy
That's good. Repeat customers.
Eddie
You got to love that. But then some people are saying, like, it's a little watery or a little liquidy or whatever, but that's kind of the style.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Eddie
You know.
Amy
Oh, you're more like restaurant style.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Eddie
Restaurant style than chunky.
Amy
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
I mean, if that. If that's really what you're aiming for, authentication, that's not a bad review. That's just. They aren't into that style.
Eddie
Yes. And what's been tough, too, is to match the Heat. Because I. Ever since you got it and I gave you some for Christmas, you're just like, all right, it's too hot. It worries me every single time. I'm like, is it too hot?
Bobby Bones
Make sure my wife wants some more.
Eddie
She does.
Bobby Bones
A jar? Yeah, but we got it. We're looking for it. Can we pay with. With points? We're trying to tell me something good. We were just.
Eddie
No, no, no, no, no. Preferably, a little cash would be nice. You know what I mean?
Bobby Bones
For as much free pub as you've gotten with me here, you can charge us for a jar.
Lunchbox
That's kind of rude.
Bobby Bones
Like, you wouldn't have sold a single jar.
Eddie
There is. You know, if I start doing that for you, then Lunchbox and.
Bobby Bones
Amy, wait.
Amy
No, I have no expectation to get anything for free.
Eddie
Oh, so you're still paying?
Amy
I'm gonna pay, of course. But listen, screw it.
Bobby Bones
I'll pay double. It's a competition on who's gonna pay the most for a jar.
Amy
No, I placed an order yesterday.
Bobby Bones
You did?
Amy
I did.
Bobby Bones
How many jars a jar? Oh, we want a jar.
Eddie
You doing one? You want one?
Bobby Bones
Well, my wife asked yesterday for one. So when can you have it to me?
Eddie
Friday.
Amy
Yeah, he said Friday's the day.
Eddie
Friday's the delivery day.
Bobby Bones
That's two days.
Eddie
Yeah. Is that. That's too long.
Bobby Bones
Whatever, man. Hey, whatever.
Eddie
Half off. Half off for Friday.
Bobby Bones
Nah, it's okay.
Lunchbox
We starting to get.
Bobby Bones
Cause her parents are coming to town.
Eddie
Cool. Dude, I think you need more than one jar on Friday.
Lunchbox
Are you upselling right now?
Eddie
No, no, no. I'm just saying, with more people.
Bobby Bones
Bogo.
Eddie
Yes, Bogo.
Bobby Bones
Her parents come to town, so. Okay. Okay. We'll take two jars.
Eddie
Two jars. You got it. I'll put you on the list.
Amy
I don't want to get Eddie in trouble or anything with that usually leads
Bobby Bones
to somebody getting in trouble.
Lunchbox
Go ahead. Go ahead.
Amy
Amen. Saying. Should we talk about this offline?
Lunchbox
No.
Bobby Bones
What?
Amy
Like, is he recording this money he's receiving?
Eddie
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Bobby Bones
Of course he is.
Eddie
Talk this offline. Let's talk about this offline.
Amy
Yeah, please do.
Bobby Bones
The answer is, of course you are.
Eddie
Of course I am keeping track of all of it. You're not an idiot.
Bobby Bones
Because he needs to know what he's spending versus what he's making and obviously all of it.
Amy
Yeah. So obviously you're doing that.
Eddie
Did you know what's crazy is I'm. I started thinking, like, I need to find a wholesaler. Like, I can't be going to the Grocery store, wiping them out of tomatoes. Dude, it takes three tomatoes a jar.
Bobby Bones
These are good problems to have if the business starts to grow.
Amy
Yeah, you need like Cisco.
Bobby Bones
Well, you're now going to have to invest into things to help you make more money, which is at first going to cost you more money.
Eddie
Yeah, like, like they're going to deliver a forklift of tomatoes in my house
Lunchbox
and then you're going to have somewhere to store them.
Bobby Bones
Or you can only make so many and then you lift your prices. If it's in such demand, like I do 50 jars a week, I don't know what you're going to do. And that's it. I can do no more. And if they sell out in five minutes, you're going, okay, it's too much demand. We're going to have to lift it up two bucks. And then when they don't, it only sells like 42, 43. You realize you're kind of at that right point.
Eddie
I have a question about that too. So like if the groceries are going up, do I have to go up?
Bobby Bones
Of course.
Eddie
But how do you communicate that? Do you just, you just say like, hey, price went up for, for the repeat customers.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, hey, yeah, expenses are up. So I had to lift prices a little bit.
Amy
You're already going up?
Eddie
No, no, no. I just, I see the grocery prices start slowly going up from when I started making salsa that I'm like, I feel like this is going to get expensive at some point.
Bobby Bones
Two jars.
Eddie
You got it.
Lunchbox
Also, you need to go to a farmer's market. You need to quit doing the individual drop off. Dude, that's killing your business. Go to a farmer's market, say, I'll be here on Saturday, come find me.
Eddie
Farmers market at the bubble table. And you gotta buy it.
Amy
Yeah, but if he really wants to
Bobby Bones
do this right, he doesn't, he doesn't want to take. He has four kids. He can't do anything.
Amy
Put them to work. They work the farmers market and they gotta pay them.
Eddie
My kids don't even wash their hands. I'm gonna have them do the jars.
Bobby Bones
That's a if. Yeah, you run a place at farmer's market. Cost you money and you gotta be there for hours at least.
Eddie
Correct. That's the thing. And then they take a percentage or you have to pay to have a tent there.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I don't think you want to be somewhere for four hours.
Eddie
I don't sell out.
Lunchbox
Get home early.
Bobby Bones
I'm Mangesha, together. And I'm back with a new season of the podcast Skyline Drive. This time I'm diving into a rabbit hole of Peptides, Organoids, Blood boys, Blue Zones, and brain replacement to try to understand what this longevity obsession is all about and what it really means to live forever for all of us. I learned about some rad science. I can make a brain for you. And then we can test what drug is the best for your brain as
Amy
opposed to his brain.
Bobby Bones
Here are some hard truths. I would expect Indians to age faster, but I did not expect it to be almost a four to five year acceleration and get myself into a world of trouble. I'd say probably start bone smashing. That doesn't work.
Amy
Make it look more defined.
Bobby Bones
They say it works.
Amy
I don't know.
Bobby Bones
Listen to Skyline Drive how to live Forever on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We've all been there. We've had seasons that have shaken everything. The question is, what remains when the shaking stops? Hi, I'm Gary Valenciano and on my podcast Unshaken with Gary Vee, I sit
Lunchbox
down with amazing personalities and we talk
Bobby Bones
about the seasons that nearly broke them, the lows that carried them to their highs.
Lunchbox
Listen to Unshaken with Gary Vee on
Bobby Bones
the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Amy
I'm Emily Oster. I'm an economist and data expert.
Bobby Bones
And I'm Perry Wilson. I'm a medical doctor.
Amy
And this is our new podcast, Wellness
Bobby Bones
actually, because you're getting a staggering amount of health and wellness information nowadays, and some of it is awesome and some
Amy
of it is, well, actually, bull. Fortunately, we're both people who know how to read studies, parse data, and can tell you what's worth trying out and what you can safely ignore.
Bobby Bones
Each episode, we tackle the health news of the week and then take a deeper dive into a misunderstood health and wellness topic like what's the deal with Peptides? What's the deal with GLP1?
Amy
What's the deal with creatine?
Bobby Bones
What's the deal with cupping?
Amy
What's the deal with sleep?
Bobby Bones
So join us for a weekly dose of sanity. Might actually be just what the doctor
Amy
or the economist ordered.
Bobby Bones
Listen to wellness actually on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, it's your ceiling vent. So I'm dripping. Could be the rain, could be the upstairs bathroom.
Amy
Yikes. You could hire the guy your neighbor
Bobby Bones
recommended, but I'm pretty sure that's just his cousin. Do we know if he's licensed or
Amy
does he just own a ladder?
Lunchbox
Listen to your home.
Bobby Bones
Go with thumbtack. Upload a photo or voice note and we'll diagnose your project and match you with the right pro for the job.
Lunchbox
Thumbtack.
Bobby Bones
We know, Holmes.
Lunchbox
Hire the right pro today.
Bobby Bones
Okay, Amy, your story.
Amy
Okay, so there's this Arizona couple. They're influencers and they dyed living birds blue for a gender reveal. And.
Eddie
Hold on. They dyed their colors?
Bobby Bones
Got it.
Amy
D Y E D dyed. And they did it through this business that releases doves at funerals or weddings. And they were made to believe that they, this woman had dyed birds before and this was okay. And that the dye would rinse off and the birds would be fine. Well, it's a non toxic dye, but the woman had never died of birds before. And so now for the last month or so, they've been getting a lot of heat online because these birds were released for their gender reveal and they were blue. So it's like, oh, they're having a boy. And. And the birds have now been seen out in the wild and by people that care about wildlife and birds. They're like, why are these birds bright blue? And so they've been trying to rescue them to bathe them and get the dye off and they can't. And the problem is they're now vulnerable to prey. They're bright, they're brighter and more of a target and they can't blend in. And so the wildlife people are like, we don't really want to release them because what if they get eaten? And then they wanted to make sure they were healthy because birds have sensitive respiratory systems and even though the dye is non toxic.
Bobby Bones
Oh my gosh. They're so bright blue.
Amy
Yes.
Bobby Bones
It looks like they've been in some sort of radioactive material.
Amy
Like. Yeah. How they.
Bobby Bones
That's so cool looking. They shouldn't do that. But that's so cool looking.
Eddie
They look cool.
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah. Yeah. That's the coolest bird I've ever seen.
Eddie
But like, what about a bluebird? Like, what are they?
Bobby Bones
If a bluebird ran up against this bird, this bird would, as they would say, this bird would mog that bird.
Eddie
Really?
Bobby Bones
Oh, yeah. This is awesome. You can't do this. You can't do this to animals. Stop painting animals. That's a really cool color. That's not even boy blue, is it?
Amy
Baby book blue?
Bobby Bones
It's like radioactive blue. I would think that.
Eddie
Oh yeah, that's.
Bobby Bones
How cool is that? Don't do it though. That sucks. Because, yeah, animals will see them because they can't blend in, and they're just getting torn apart. Yeah.
Eddie
I've never seen a bird that blue before, so.
Amy
And all for, you know, a gender reveal to get views and likes and clicks and whatnot. So these poor little birds. But the influencers say they were under the impression that the dye would fade, and they really didn't want to do harm to these birds, so they would like for people to stop getting mad at them.
Bobby Bones
On our YouTube, if you guys are watching on YouTube, you can see the bluebirds. That's crazy.
Eddie
You can't. Yeah, stupid question. Forget it.
Amy
What?
Eddie
You can't shave a bird, right? That's feathers.
Bobby Bones
No, it's feathers. Yeah.
Amy
They'll call their feathers off.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Amy
Yeah.
Eddie
And they don't regrow their feathers.
Amy
I think they do go through a cycle of molting or molting.
Eddie
That could be a thing.
Bobby Bones
I think their feathers are protection.
Eddie
Yeah. But you can pluck them under your supervision and then wait till they're new feathers.
Bobby Bones
What are we doing?
Amy
No, this is painful.
Bobby Bones
What are we doing here? Okay, Eddie.
Eddie
Okay, so these Morgan Wallen concerts are getting kind of crazy. So he played in Baltimore this weekend, and there's a family that went to the show, and they're claiming that some concert goer that was sitting behind him peed on him just in the middle of the concert and all over their legs and everything. And then when they told the cops, they found the guy, but they're like, we didn't see it happen, so we can't do anything about it. So now he's like, I don't know what to do, but I want this guy in trouble.
Bobby Bones
Who's he, the dad or the.
Amy
The family that got urinated.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, I just made sure that wasn't Morgan Wallen, because I saw this story.
Eddie
Morgan's not even Morgan's.
Bobby Bones
Morgan might peed on him.
Eddie
I don't even think he knows about this. So, yeah, the dad. The dad that was there of the family is like, we need to do something to this guy. Like, he can't just go to a concert and pee on people. But there was no proof of it.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. So I don't think this is just a Morgan Wallen show. I think any show where there's a lot of drinking, you have people just randomly peeing on stuff, it just so happens it's at a Morgan Wallen show. So it makes a headline.
Eddie
It does make the headline, I always think. And I feel like every weekend when Morgan plays, there's some headline that comes out of the show.
Lunchbox
Did you watch the video? He's like yelling at the cops, so if I go right now and pee on you, you can't arrest me. And they're like well no, we would see you do it. He's like, okay, so if I go pee on that guy and he comes and tells me, tells you that I peed on him, you won't arrest me. And they're like sir, I don't know why you're. We're telling you what you can do. We gave you his information, you can file it with whatever. And he's like no, no, I want something done. He's like sir, why are you yelling at me? I am trying to help you, but I can't do anything. That's the law.
Eddie
I mean if you got peed on,
Bobby Bones
that would they suck?
Eddie
Suck?
Lunchbox
Yep.
Bobby Bones
And you're probably acting a bit irrational because that's not supposed to happen. But if you don't have any proof, could have been anybody that peed on you.
Eddie
Well, and Then too his 8 year old niece was there with him too and she, I mean she got peed on and she saw his.
Amy
Uhuh. She saw his stuff.
Eddie
Yeah, so that's not, that's not good either.
Bobby Bones
So there's not a camera that's watching the crowd, you would think somewhere Big Brother. Because they're watching everything we do all the time. So I know it's a weird story. I saw it. It's not because of Morgan Wallen?
Eddie
No, it's nothing to do with.
Bobby Bones
They make you think that because the headline almost makes you think Morgan Wallen peed on people.
Eddie
Right.
Bobby Bones
Like person gets peed on by at Morgan Wallen concert and picture him playing guitar. You're like dang, how hard was he going playing guitar?
Eddie
But yeah, they said that the venue reached out to. They said we'll make it right. But they haven't done anything yet.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it sucks.
Eddie
What would be making it right for you at the. From the venue, concerts, tickets, all, all
Bobby Bones
year, monetary arrest and monetary. But that's not going to happen unless someone. Did the 8 year old only see the wiener or did the other adults see it? Cuz you would think if an adult saw they pound the dude, they hit him.
Lunchbox
Right?
Eddie
I think everyone saw him. Cuz he, I mean it was, he was right there.
Amy
I think they all looked back and
Bobby Bones
were like oh, and nobody beat him up.
Lunchbox
Right? That's what I'm saying.
Amy
No one immediately. If that happened to my family, I'm not going to beat him up.
Bobby Bones
But there's not two families standing there. There's thousand people in that little area and some dudes peeing. And there's not other drunk people or other adult men that see a guy with his wiener out there. They're just not gonna beat the crap out of them. I just would think that would happen.
Eddie
Yeah. If somebody was peeing on my family, I don't know if I'd beat him up, but I'd definitely push them or
Bobby Bones
has their weaner out around kids. That's my point.
Eddie
I would definitely do something.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Every. I think everybody would like, even the
Lunchbox
person that's with that guy would be like, what are you doing?
Eddie
Like, they say he was alone and
Bobby Bones
they also sounds like, hey, it sounds like somebody who'd be alone. Right.
Eddie
They also said that, that he was sitting in a seat that they're probably sure that wasn't his. He just kind of snuck, snuck up there and sat in that scene.
Bobby Bones
What if he was so, so, so, so wasted?
Eddie
Yeah, they said he was being annoying the whole show, yelling and just being annoying.
Bobby Bones
That doesn't mean he was wasted. It could mean he's wasted.
Eddie
If you're peeing, I think you're pretty wasted.
Bobby Bones
I feel that too.
Eddie
Unless, unless you really gotta go or
Bobby Bones
you just want to show your wiener. But it doesn't feel like that's, that's this. Yeah, it's a weird one. Lunchbox.
Lunchbox
Yeah. There was a group of hikers in Canada. They wanted to go for a hike. So they looked up on Google Maps this one hike and it said, oh, It'll take you 5 hours, 13 minutes round trip. They printed out their Google Map like the route that they were gonna take and they got up on the mountain and five hours in they were like, oh my gosh. They had to call for help because Google Maps was wrong. It's a 14 hour hike and they didn't have the provisions. They were out of breath. They needed to be rescued from the mountain.
Bobby Bones
Whose fault is that?
Eddie
Google Maps.
Lunchbox
Well, it's them for using Google Maps because I don't think Google Maps knows how to trek a mountain.
Bobby Bones
They do have a lot of trails inside of Google Maps.
Lunchbox
Oh, they do some.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Lunchbox
Okay.
Eddie
There's a good app called All Trails which is really good for that.
Bobby Bones
Now that's more specific. Sure. I think I just would double map that if it's something like that. You do Google, you can do Apple, you can do a trail if you're also. If I'm going on a. How long? 14 hour.
Lunchbox
They thought it was five hours, even
Bobby Bones
five hour trail to somewhere. I don't know. I'm going to specifically download one of those apps that's made for trails, but it's easy to say that hindsight. But do you blame Google Maps?
Lunchbox
I kind of. I was, but I didn't realize they. I mean, I don't know. I thought Google Maps was just roads.
Bobby Bones
I. Alleys too.
Eddie
Well, what's good about Google Maps is it tracks you so you can keep watching it, but at some point, if you're out of service, it doesn't do that.
Lunchbox
Well, they printed the papers, they had
Bobby Bones
a bunch of map quests. They're blaming it on MapQuest. Did you see the story about the woman? She ordered soulmate drawings from someone on Etsy. This person claimed that they were kind of like psychic and they could draw your soulmate. And so she ordered them. They came, saw the picture of the person. A week later, the woman that ordered them met somebody and started dating him. The guy kind of looked like the drawing, and now they're engaged.
Amy
Oh, my gosh, that's crazy.
Eddie
You love that, Amy.
Amy
Well, y' all are not gonna believe this.
Lunchbox
Amy ordered you did a psychic drawing?
Amy
Oh, gosh, no, I didn't. But my daughter did.
Bobby Bones
Throw this up on the screen if we can. I know I'm coming to you with this late, but you're gonna look at this and go, huh? That's crazy. Okay, but go ahead. Your daughter.
Amy
So my daughter texted me the other day, this picture, and it says, meet your soulmate. And then it's a sketch. And she was like, hey, I just paid for this. And I was like, paid how much and where? And did you get scammed? She was like, it was just a dollar. But an ad came up, and this is the set she got for her soulmate for $1.
Eddie
Is it the same guy?
Lunchbox
Same guy.
Eddie
It's the same guy.
Bobby Bones
I don't know that it's exactly the same, but it is that generic.
Amy
He's not exactly the same.
Bobby Bones
Like a, like typical movie star, Tobey Maguire, white guy, good hair.
Amy
But.
Bobby Bones
But yeah, look at, look at these two here. The news story, that's what she ordered and was sent to her. And that's the guy that she was with.
Eddie
I mean, but did she follow, like the sketch to find that guy they
Bobby Bones
met one week later?
Amy
Okay, I will say she could have gotten the sketch that my daughter got and it would still pass for the guy that's down on one knee.
Eddie
Yeah, that's true.
Amy
It would still pass.
Bobby Bones
That's a pretty specific Type. I mean, sure. But again, no long hair. He's not Hispanic or black. He is white. He's like, I don't know.
Amy
I get you, I get you. And
Bobby Bones
I'm not defending the sketch art. It's a psychic, by the way, because I don't think so.
Amy
Okay. You know how they say if you're thinking about a blue car, you see more blue cars?
Eddie
Yes.
Amy
Well, she was given that image, so she started to pay attention and notice more guys like that.
Bobby Bones
But I think you would notice that guy anyway. He's like really good looking.
Eddie
I could go downstairs and find a guy like that.
Bobby Bones
No, you can't. You can't.
Eddie
Yes, I can.
Bobby Bones
That's a really good looking guy. That's a eight and a half. That's eight and a half guy.
Eddie
I find him and bring him.
Amy
I will say this.
Lunchbox
Hey, come up here. I need you to come upstairs for a minute.
Amy
This sketch of the guy my daughter got is pretty cute.
Eddie
Okay.
Bobby Bones
I don't think. Can you imagine if you bot whatever that is or you subscribe to this bit and they give you like a troll and you're like, what the crap? Then no one's going to use that bit or that, that, that app. So, yeah, there's a Bobby cast that I did over the weekend with Nico Moon and we were talking about AI because he's big and like, we both like listen to AI podcasts. And he was talking about how what they'll do now in Nashville when they write songs, and I hope you go check this out, is these songwriters will write a song and then they want to pitch it to somebody like Jelly Roll or Morgan Wallen. And they can take, let's say if I sang this song and it's called Run down the street and I go run down the street. Got, got, gotta run down the street. I can put it into the computer and put Jelly. Make it Jelly Roll's voice. Exactly. And then they can let Jelly Roll hear it to hear how he would sound singing Run down the street. Run, run down the street. So when he's listening to a demo, he's not listening to another guy sing it going, I wonder what I would do with it. He's listening to his own voice. Sing it. Wild, huh?
Eddie
I mean, that's a cool way to use AI without making it like, oh, the AI is writing the song.
Bobby Bones
Well, I did that as a bit too. In our interview. I said, okay, I want to write a country song using using AI. It's so corny.
Eddie
It was.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, it's so Corny. It's so corny, but it's not quite there yet. But it can do the technical stuff, like putting a voice like Morgan Wallen's voice on something. So if someone wrote a song and he's thinking about it, he can hear it sang as him.
Eddie
That's cool.
Bobby Bones
It's crazy, but it's cool. Eddie needs help with his kids as far as wearing seat belts.
Eddie
Yeah. They're just so stubborn about it. I don't understand why. But every time we get in the car, I look back, and there's one kid who's just sitting there looking like. Sitting like he's in a limousine. I'm like, dude, put your seatbelt on. We've been on the road for five minutes. Like, why don't you understand? If you don't put your seatbelt on and we get into a crash, you could die. And it's just like, yeah, come on, dad. We're not gonna die.
Bobby Bones
You feel invincible as a kid, but
Eddie
it's like, I don't get it. And, like, you know, me and my wife, like, as soon as we get in the car, it's the first thing we do. We put seatbelts on. And I just thought, like, I don't know, we do that. They'll eventually do that, but it's a weird thing that they're so stubborn about. And I want to ask you guys, like, do you have any, like, recommendations?
Bobby Bones
Like, do I show them pictures? I don't think you're gonna. Oh, of dead, mangled bodies or, like,
Eddie
even, like, a store. Do you know someone who died because they were wearing a seatbelt?
Amy
Oh, yes, I do. Someone I went to high school with, they. And I've told my kids this story, actually, because they think sometimes when they're sitting in the back, like, they just won't unbuckle and for a second and, like, think, it's not a big deal. So one of my friends, they were driving back. It was our freshman year of college, Texas OU weekend. So they went up to Dallas for the football game, and. And they were driving back, and they stopped. They were all buckled. And then they stopped at a gas station to get snacks and whatever. And after they got in the gas station, he was in the middle backseat, and he didn't buckle back up yet. And it was shortly after the stop at the gas station that they had a collision, and everybody else was buckled, and he flew out. He's the only one in the car that died.
Bobby Bones
And I think, as tragic as that is, I think you tell your Kids, that story, it won't matter to them because they feel invincible. And that. That's not going to happen to them.
Amy
But I get it. But it's like proof is there. And it was so difficult because at the funeral it was like, oh, I'm not arguing. I know, but this is part of the story is like all four of those other people that survived, like, were at his funeral knowing if they had just noticed and been like, oh, hey Will, you haven't buckled back up yet or something, then Will could be alive. And they, they have to. I don't know. That's just a story. That's the only person I have close to me that has flown out of a window and not made it.
Bobby Bones
If you tell a 7 year old that story, it's gonna seem like a movie.
Eddie
Yeah. But at the same time, like, whoa. And maybe get their attention. What? I've tried.
Bobby Bones
What do you tell them now? If you don't, you're gonna go through the windshield and die?
Eddie
Well, I just say you could die. Like, do you wanna die?
Amy
Do you wanna fly through the windshield?
Eddie
You don't wanna die, right? I even go to basketball. I'm like, you'll never. What if, like, you don't die?
Bobby Bones
Now you're talking.
Eddie
What if you don't die?
Bobby Bones
That's how you do it. You have to relate it to something they like. Yes.
Amy
So what if you fly out of the windshield and then you're paralyzed.
Bobby Bones
Right.
Eddie
And you will never be able to play basketball again. Mm. Do you want that?
Bobby Bones
I think you have to punish a reward if they're young, okay, you don't do it, we're just gonna punish you. You do do it. Seven times in a row, we give you ice cream. But then when you're 11 or 12, it's different. There's a reward system that as a kid, life is not even real. It's just, you're invincible. Nothing's real. Death's not real. Nothing's gonna matter.
Eddie
Yeah, I guess we were all like that. Like, I was like that too.
Bobby Bones
I now, now that we have a baby, like, it's. It's total mortality all the time. It was crazy. Like, I've never thought about my mortality more.
Eddie
Oh, because you don't want to miss out on that.
Bobby Bones
Not even just that. It's. It's me thinking, okay, whenever she's this old, I'm going to be this old and this much closer to dying. And I think about dying all the time anyway, but it's okay. Man, I wonder what she's going to be like, as an adult, but, dang, when she's an adult, I'm going to be this old and dang, I'm going to die. So it's. It's not as much. Oh, I don't want to die now. And her not have a dad as it is. Dang, I'm getting older. And the older she gets, the older I get, obviously. But I. I never really thought about it until, like, having a baby like that.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
And I was already obsessed with death anyway. But it's a different. Different kind of darkness.
Eddie
See, mine. Mine was like, I don't care if I die. Like, if it's my time, it's my time. Like, I go, right? And, like, even when we got an airplane, I'm like, whatever. If this plane goes down, I die. No big deal. But now I'm like, man, if I died today, I would miss out on so much. Like, who are they gonna marry? Like, what are they gonna do? Like, what are their jobs gonna be?
Bobby Bones
Like, well, you don't have insurance? Like, insurance? Yeah, from, remember, Abby's fiance?
Eddie
Yeah. I don't have life insurance.
Bobby Bones
Life insurance.
Lunchbox
Oh, yeah.
Eddie
So that's how I think of it.
Bobby Bones
You don't think about life insurance, though. Like, how are they going to survive financially?
Lunchbox
See?
Bobby Bones
Or do you go, I'm dead. It doesn't matter because you're dead and it doesn't affect you.
Eddie
Oh, no, that would be terrible. Like, I do want to protect them, but at the same time. Or, you know, just have them have enough money. But at the same time, my wife is the one that tells me. She's like, what? You don't think I can support for them? I'm like, okay, well, you can support for them.
Bobby Bones
Why aren't you just supporting now? Let's double up.
Eddie
No, I don't say that.
Bobby Bones
Double it up. It stormed so hard last night. For an hour and a half. It stormed so hard. You guys storm it.
Eddie
Storm.
Lunchbox
Oh, dude. Soon.
Bobby Bones
Massive lightning, big thunder. And then we're always going, oh, please don't wake the freaking baby up. And so.
Eddie
That's funny. Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Oh, the dogs, when it starts to storm now I have to put them in their room because if Stanley barks, it could wake the baby up. So it's always where I'm just, like, hyper baby. Like, do not wake the baby up in the middle of the night. So we got through last night pretty good, but it stormed hard. It's been raining so much. Is that normal?
Lunchbox
No.
Bobby Bones
Are we getting more rainfall than normal?
Eddie
It's not normal.
Lunchbox
Way more. I don't remember usually. Not in July either. It's usually May.
Amy
You pull up the app and it's just like rain.
Lunchbox
Rain.
Eddie
Isn't there like a hurricane or something out there?
Lunchbox
Tropical depression.
Eddie
Tropical depression where?
Lunchbox
Gulf.
Eddie
It's a good question. I don't know where it is. Is in the Gulf?
Lunchbox
I'm pretty sure it's in the Gulf,
Eddie
but I just see the news talking about it like track bulo or I don't know what the name is.
Bobby Bones
It's not a hurricane there yet.
Lunchbox
Now that I'd seen as of last night. I thought it was a tropical depression, but.
Bobby Bones
Tropical storm Bertha, forecast to hit the Gulf Coast.
Eddie
There we go. Bertha.
Bobby Bones
So a depression, I guess. I don't care. A tropical storm. Okay. That could turn into a hurricane. So I guess that's why.
Eddie
So what's the depression?
Bobby Bones
Probably junior varsity storm.
Eddie
We're just kind of bummed about it because it's a little storm.
Bobby Bones
Do you want the definition of a depression?
Eddie
Yes.
Bobby Bones
A tropical cyclone that has maximum sustained surface winds of 38 miles per hour or less. 38.
Eddie
Feels like chill.
Bobby Bones
That's every Saturday here. A tropical storm. A tropical cyclone that has maximum of 73 miles an hour. A hurricane 74 or greater, a major hurricane is classified as category 3 or higher.
Eddie
Huh. Okay.
Bobby Bones
Yeah. Depression. I don't. I don't. I guess I don't care that much.
Eddie
It's almost like you're just waiting for. Depression's the early stage of a storm in the water.
Bobby Bones
You guys see all the smoke that came down from Canada? Big wildfire.
Eddie
My mom asked me about that.
Bobby Bones
Smoked out full cities.
Amy
Because that was the smoke that was in New York, probably.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
Because Chicago had it too. The wildfire in Canada and the smoke hitchhiked on down.
Eddie
That's amazing because you think of like, oh, it's so big. Like, Canada's so far away, but yet a wildfire there can bring smoke here. That's pretty crazy.
Bobby Bones
That's crazy. What are you doing today? Anything?
Amy
Yeah, I have a meeting about YouTube and then church tonight. I gotta take my son to church, so while I drop him off there, I'm gonna walk with a friend. If it's not raining at night or it'll still be light out. It's like six.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Amy
So it's still light out. But she lives over by where the church is, so. And that's like 20 minutes away. So normally we don't walk out by her. So it's kind of a. I'll drop him off and then just come to your neighborhood. So that's really it.
Eddie
You.
Bobby Bones
I did hard leg day yesterday, so I'm not gonna exercise today because it just sucks.
Eddie
What'd you do? Squats, Lunges.
Lunchbox
Huh.
Bobby Bones
All you know. I know it's. And I did these Bach where there's the bench press and you put. I had like 40s in each hand, dumbbells. And they're just step ups. But the weight's so heavy when I'm by myself. I really consider. I think I'm gonna. I'm good at four.
Eddie
Oh yeah.
Bobby Bones
Instead of ten. And I don't. I have to talk myself through it. But I fend. I did everything yesterday, but about four in, I'm going, nobody's here, nobody's watching. Like, what's the difference if I do six more reps? Like, I have to have those conversations with myself. And I was able to get through it, so I finished that. So I'm not gonna exercise at all today. But we do have a Bobby cast at 4:30, which is a little later for us than normal. But I'll go home, take a little pressure off Caitlin with the baby. I like when I get home and the baby's just going to sleep for a nap. That's my favorite. Right when I get home. Because there's nothing for me to do. It's like I'm here to help.
Eddie
Dang, just missed it.
Bobby Bones
Sometimes I can look and see the nanit and see if she's in the crib. And if she is not, I'll sit in the car for a few minutes.
Amy
Smart.
Eddie
Hey, you're learning all the tricks.
Bobby Bones
Yeah, yeah, yeah. If I know it's about that time. And then if she's put in, I'm. I'm. I'm clear to go in.
Amy
You dirty dog.
Bobby Bones
Because I still got animals to take out once I get home.
Amy
You're admitting this here right now? Do you admit this at home?
Bobby Bones
I think she knows. I don't know.
Amy
Okay, she knows.
Bobby Bones
She knows. So, yeah, I'll go home for a little bit today and help. And then we have that this afternoon, but that's about it, you guys.
Eddie
Eddie, I gotta pick up some ingredients for salsa.
Bobby Bones
Nice.
Eddie
For Friday.
Bobby Bones
Yes, sir.
Eddie
And then basketball game tonight. My son's basketball game, summer league. It's pretty chill, but I love it. They threw him in with eighth graders, which he's going into seventh. And it's like he's so small compared to these guys, but he's hanging with him, so it's kind of fun. To watch.
Bobby Bones
Does he get to play?
Eddie
Yeah, he plays a lot.
Bobby Bones
Really?
Eddie
Because it's summer. They're not trying to, like, you know, win the. The tournament or whatever. It's. It's literally just something to keep them busy and keep. Keep them playing basketball.
Bobby Bones
Lunchbox.
Lunchbox
I got a soccer game tonight, and that's about it. I don't know. Anything else going on throughout the day?
Bobby Bones
Probably take a nap, hopefully.
Lunchbox
Take a nap? Yeah.
Bobby Bones
How long you think?
Lunchbox
I hope two hours today. I'm tired. I. I woke up like five or six times last night. Had to pee. Oh, it was rough. Rough night.
Bobby Bones
How's the testicle?
Lunchbox
Testicle feels good today. Feels good. Like it doesn't hurt.
Eddie
So did you see that baseball player that got hit?
Lunchbox
Oh, ruptured testicle. He fouled a ball right into his.
Bobby Bones
Off his own. So he fouled himself.
Lunchbox
He wasn't wearing a cup.
Eddie
I guess I thought about you when I saw that.
Lunchbox
Dude, I haven't ruptured it.
Eddie
No, I know, but it's so big. It could at any minute.
Lunchbox
That's true. I mean, how that is. That has to be Unbelievable pain.
Bobby Bones
Did he go down immediately?
Eddie
Immediately.
Lunchbox
Like, hit it right off your.
Eddie
Oh, that was terrible. Oh, they don't wear cups in baseball.
Lunchbox
They're supposed to.
Bobby Bones
I wouldn't.
Eddie
Because it just gets in the way.
Lunchbox
It's not comfortable.
Eddie
Yeah.
Bobby Bones
All right, that's it.
Amy
There we go.
Eddie
And with that.
Bobby Bones
