Then you turn the radio on and the dial just keeps on turning trying to put you through. M's riding this week's next bit and Bobby's on the mic. So you know what this is. This is the Bobby Bone Store. Over to Amy with The Morning Corny. The morning Corny.
Amy
Why did the wide receiver open a bakery?
Matt Castle
Why the wide receiver open a bakery?
Amy
I got to do it again.
Matt Castle
Why? What's the joke? What's. What is it?
Amy
He wanted to catch turnovers.
Matt Castle
Yeah.
Amy
I don't get that.
Matt Castle
I don't get it. Like apple turnover. Like a. You don't get it? No. Maybe. Cuz that's an actual good one. Is.
Amy
It is.
Matt Castle
Well, better than some of the.
Amy
I. I have a better one. Go, go, go.
Matt Castle
The Morning Corny.
Amy
Why did the football fan bring a blanket to the game?
Matt Castle
Why?
Amy
To cover the spread. You always talk about the covering the spread. Okay, no.
Matt Castle
That was the morning Corny. The point spread. But why would there be a spread? Edit it. It doesn't matter. It is. Do you want to do another one?
Amy
Sure.
Matt Castle
Okay. Just go from the beginning. We'll also leave this on the podcast, but it'll never exist on the radio. All right, go ahead. The Morning Corny.
Amy
Why did the football team start a bakery?
Matt Castle
Why did the football team start a bakery?
Amy
They wanted to make dough from turnovers.
Matt Castle
That was the Morning Corny. You want to explain that?
Amy
Apple turnovers.
Matt Castle
Well, they wanted to make dough money bakery from turnovers. And turnovers are a thing at the bakery.
Amy
Yeah, that's right.
Matt Castle
Hey, in six days, something equally as unfunny, my comedy special will be on cmt.
Amy
I think it's probably funnier.
Matt Castle
I don't know. It's very unconventional.
Amy
So it's a toss up.
Matt Castle
Yeah.
Amy
Like either you're going to think it's funny or you're going to be like, what is that?
Matt Castle
Well, it's just not what you would think. If you're watching a typical. It's not all stand up comedy like Dolly is in it. She intros me and we do some stuff during the show, which is awesome for Dolly to agree to do that. And then I do jokes. But there's also serious stuff in it, which is why it's called Comedically Inspirational. And then I pull people, we play games, the whole thing. I guess if you've seen the show, you know kind of what it is. But no, it's on CMT next Tuesday night, 9, 8 Central. I hope you watch Comedically Inspirational and it will be just as funny as that joke. I don't know. Just as funny.
Amy
I'm starting to regret trying to do football ones leading up to the Super Bowl.
Matt Castle
Yeah, we are too. But that's okay. We're in it together. My nightmare is a plane crash and this wasn't quite a plane crash, but this is a flight in America, and apparently it just, like, falls out of the air and then catches itself. Catches itself. A United airlines flight to D.C. was forced to make an emergency landing after the plane abruptly plunged in midair, hurting nearly 40 people on board. Six are hot, hospitalized with serious injuries. I know for me, that'd be the one time I'm sitting on the toilet in the bathroom. I don't ever want to sit on a toilet in a public place. But that would be the one time that I'm like, I gotta go sit on the toilet, you know, because. Not a seat belt on the toilet.
Amy
No.
Matt Castle
That if someone was on that toilet when this thing plunges their heads for sure into the ceiling and then there's stuff everywhere.
Amy
Yeah. It's disgusting. So do we know why this happened?
Matt Castle
United Airlines Flight 613 turned back when the aircraft suddenly plunged 93 minutes into the trip to Dulles International Airport. The sudden drop jolted all 245 passengers. 11 crew. They made the pivot back. What? Just turbulence.
Amy
Why would a plane suddenly drop?
Matt Castle
I don't know. And how does it catch itself like that? Also is crazy that it can just fall and go up.
Amy
It does. Say here a plane may suddenly drop due to turbulence, hitting pockets of air with different speeds, causing the aircraft to be lifted and then dropped abruptly. I mean, but this sounds like it's different because if that happens during turbulence, you don't necessarily turn around and land somewhere.
Matt Castle
True. Now, there was a flight that I think lunchbox was on whenever it was a hard. Like a hard slam. Turbulence.
Lunchbox
Yeah. We were heading to Austin for iHeart Festival. It was Ray, myself, Eddie, and some of the girls from St. Jude. And one of the girls from St. Jude had never been on a plane before. And there's turbulence and it's kind of shaken, and rage starts yelling, this is when we go down. This is when we go down. And 10 seconds later, it was ba boom. And we dropped. I mean, I don't know how far, but glasses, beers hit the ceiling, laptops flew over seats.
Matt Castle
So do you think if you'd have been closer to home, they would have turned the flight around?
Lunchbox
I don't know, because there was no injuries. I think maybe they turned around this because people were injured. I mean, people were. There was drinks over. The beverage cart was spilled all over the plane. I mean, it was incredibly scary.
Matt Castle
Yeah. Plane crashes. I'm convinced again, every time that flight gets up, those two pilots look at each other and go, I know we study this, and it's science. But I can't believe this metal's up this high like that. And then. Don't get me on people in 1950s flying over the ocean. How you would do that? You're basically sitting in baskets. And I would think the people that were hurt weren't wearing seat belts. Right? Because if it's a normal flight, they're.
Lunchbox
Probably saying, oh, fasten seat belt sign is off. Feel, feel free to move about the cabin. Then you just hit that pocket air ba boom.
Matt Castle
I'm looking at a picture and it is destruction in the aisle because it's everybody's stuff up. Boom. And then back down. Yeah, I wouldn't have made it. I just called it. I jumped out right then. Might as well get out of here. This sucks.
Amy
But everybody was fine.
Matt Castle
No, I'm not. I. Oh, man. And it's over the wall there.
Lunchbox
Six people in the hospital.
Amy
Well, okay, I said is, I have.
Matt Castle
For sure been on the toilet.
Amy
If Bobby jumps out, then he's for sure done.
Matt Castle
You know, I'm okay with that though, because I'm done anyway. After that, I'm done. I'm out. I'm out. This principal was arrested because there were over 100 kids drinking at the principal's house.
Amy
Oh, that's not good.
Matt Castle
Right? Like I'll read you the story. Let's make up our minds after the Florida principal. Now, she was principal of an elementary school, but it wasn't the elementary kids.
Amy
Oh, thank goodness.
Matt Castle
But I know that's a. That'd be extra bad. But was arrested after more than 100 underage kids were found drinking and partying at her home. Who knows? 100 kids.
Amy
Okay, but please tell me she had. Does she have like 17, 18 year old kids herself? And they had friends over, so.
Matt Castle
But even. Does that matter?
Amy
No, this is still bad. But at least it explains 100 though. No, no, I get it. But at least explains why she has teenagers.
Matt Castle
She's 47 years old. The principal of Roosevelt Elementary School was arrested alongside teacher Carly Anderson after the principal hosted a quote, open house party.
Amy
Okay, interesting.
Matt Castle
The. The two faced charges contributing to the delinquency of a minor. All this. Over 100 kids were at the home in matching T shirts and many consuming alcohol which was available in coolers.
Amy
Okay.
Matt Castle
In the home.
Amy
This is not good.
Matt Castle
One of the kids was found on the front lawn experiencing an alcohol related medical event. What would that have been like, throwing up or something?
Lunchbox
Vomiting, probably alcohol poisoning.
Matt Castle
Another intoxicated juvenile was arrested near the residence during a traffic stop. And they Got a dui.
Amy
Oh my gosh.
Matt Castle
That's from Florida today. And it's, it doesn't feel the same as if there have been certain parents. I never drank. I, so I don't. And also my parents didn't care. I could have done whatever I wanted to. I could have been freebasing, whatever. You freebase it, you know, they would have never known. But some parents were like, as long as you drink at the house and there's four or five kids, we'd rather you do that than drive. There are a hundred kids.
Amy
This party with matching T shirts and she and his.
Matt Castle
And it doesn't, it doesn't say anything about a kid. I don't know that she doesn't have a kid. But even then there are a hundred kids.
Amy
I know. And you just expect a principal to make better decisions. Like, I had some friends in high school and their parents were definitely cool with them having tons of parties. I mean, even my dad would let me have parties. I don't know that we had a hundred. But he wasn't there. And I don't think he knew exactly what we had going on. But like, she was there. Provided T shirts, provided alcohol.
Matt Castle
Party favors. Do party favors at a party for kids.
Amy
Yeah.
Matt Castle
I am, I would not be judgmental toward a parent that knows their kids and goes, hey, you're going to drink. There's four or five of you. Just drink at home. I'm not going to be judgmental towards that because I'm not a parent. And also they know their kids. I'm going to be a bit judgmental to having a 100 kid open house party with T shirts and coolers of.
Amy
Alcohol with someone whose profession is literally with children. Two teachers leading children.
Matt Castle
Principal's house, but another teacher was there.
Amy
Yeah.
Matt Castle
Lunchbox your thoughts.
Amy
Bizarre, man.
Lunchbox
That's incredible. I mean, I, I don't understand when you get an invitation from the principal, the, like that was probably their principal in elementary school and she probably kept in touch with them via Snapchat and was like, hey guys, I'm gonna have a party though.
Matt Castle
If he's keeping in touch via Snapchat. That feels pretty.
Amy
It's a she, right?
Lunchbox
It's a she.
Matt Castle
Yeah. Elizabeth Hill Brigan.
Amy
Okay.
Lunchbox
But it's just so weird and crazy that I, I, I don't know.
Matt Castle
Was it a money making venture? Like, Was she charging 20 bucks a pop?
Lunchbox
That could be it. You get the kegs and it's $10 a cup. What? You know, whatever. I've done that.
Matt Castle
Yeah, but you Also, but I haven't met a principal, and there. And again, there was another teacher there, too. Anyway, shout out to the leaders of tomorrow.
Lunchbox
Probably not gonna be a principal anymore, huh?
Amy
Probably not, no.
Matt Castle
I think there's at least a demotion, if not a termination involved. There again, has been arrested, so I don't even know what if I need to say allegedly. How about this? Everything's alleged, but that's from Florida today. Okay.
Lunchbox
The Bobby Bone Show.
Matt Castle
Do women like guys who fight? Talk about that. And then also, when a guy fights, it makes him want to fight more, according to science. We'll talk about that. But mostly it's like, do you ladies like it when dudes, like, all punching another dude? Bones, we're talking about how guys, when they get in fights, and if they win a fight, it makes them want to get in more fights, like, physical.
Amy
Fights with other men. Okay.
Matt Castle
Because dopamine has been linked to male aggression for decades. So whenever you fight and you win, there's a dopamine release, makes you feel good. So you go and look to fight more times. I've never been in a fight. I'll say. I've never been in a fistfight.
Amy
Yeah. I would say, let's get some other ways to release dopamine. This sounds dangerous.
Matt Castle
I'd never have punched anybody in the face. I've always been afraid to hurt my hand. And that. I could say that maybe the wimpiest thing I could ever say. I don't want to hurt my hand.
Amy
Yeah.
Matt Castle
Lunchbox. You a fighter?
Lunchbox
Not anymore. We used to get in fights sometimes. I got in a fight when I was in seventh grade at school.
Matt Castle
Does that count, though? Aren't they, like, barf? I'm thinking, like, adult bar in an adult bar fight.
Lunchbox
But, like, with, you know, Aaron and Forest, we'd fight each other when we were kids, get mad at each other, like, roughhouse.
Amy
I think that's different. Like, if y'all are just wrestling.
Lunchbox
No, no, no, no. Like, we get mad at each other, like, and fight, and then a couple days go by and your friends again. It's cool. Like, all right.
Matt Castle
That's like child.
Amy
Child's play.
Lunchbox
I don't know if it's child.
Amy
Like, you straight punched him in the face.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Matt Castle
Do you think you can fight now if, like, someone came up to you?
Lunchbox
Oh, yeah, I think I. But, I mean, I'm out of shape, and I'm out of fighting shape. And I used to train. Ufc.
Matt Castle
Yeah, go ahead.
Lunchbox
I had a DVD that I would watch and try to. And Go out in the backyard and do some of the moves.
Amy
Ty Bo, Basically no ufc. Billy Banks, Billy Blanks. Yeah, we see that.
Matt Castle
Back in college, it was like, me and five girls would be in the lobby of the dorm doing.
Amy
Yeah, it was all the rage.
Matt Castle
And Lunchbox, apparently you think of everybody on the show. If there was, like, a tournament of fighting, you would win. All the dudes?
Lunchbox
Yeah, probably. Yeah.
Matt Castle
You think? You got a pretty good right. Solid left.
Lunchbox
I got a little, you know, uppercut with the left right there. Hit him in the run, the kidneys. That's what they don't see coming. Yeah, they don't see it coming.
Matt Castle
Any guy ever come up to you and try to start anything because your lunchbox.
Lunchbox
Yes.
Matt Castle
And that's okay.
Lunchbox
So what do you do at that point in time? You know, I had my people handle it.
Matt Castle
I don't remember a point in time where you had people.
Lunchbox
I have people. Everyone. Anytime I'd go out on 6th Street, I had people. I always had an entourage. Bouncers knew who I was, and they would take care of things for me.
Matt Castle
You think girls like fighting?
Lunchbox
They love it.
Amy
No.
Lunchbox
Oh, my gosh, no. You see guys fight outside the bars, and girls are just like, oh, okay, you go first.
Matt Castle
Lunchbox. Do girls like it when guys fight for them?
Lunchbox
Yes. 100.
Matt Castle
Why?
Lunchbox
It shows that they are protected, that their man will stand up for them and take care of them, and they don't have to worry about their safety.
Matt Castle
Okay. And now I like to go to the ladies here. Amy, do you like it when your guy fights for you?
Amy
Yeah. No, I'm. I'm more attracted to a man that would walk away from a situation and still want to protect me, but not in a way that he has to get physical with somebody else. I mean, of course, if, like, someone puts their hands on me and you defend me.
Matt Castle
Not the same.
Amy
Totally different than, like, some random. I'm going to pick a fight to try to impress a girl because we're not impressed.
Matt Castle
Like, a drink is knocked out of someone's hand by accident, and dude's like, no, not my drink. In my girl's hand. Swing.
Amy
That shows me you're not rational, and you're very reactionary, and you don't pause to respond appropriately. I don't. I'm not attracted to that.
Matt Castle
Morgan, you like a guy that fights. No.
Morgan
9 times out of 10, I do not want him fighting.
Matt Castle
There's always a.
Morgan
Like, if. If something really happens and he's really protective over me in a specific scenario, then, yes, I'm gonna like that. But nine times out of 10, restraint is so much more attractive.
Matt Castle
Define restraint. What would he need to restrain from?
Morgan
Like, instead of fighting, he goes, hey, we're gonna remove ourselves from the situation. Let's leave.
Matt Castle
Would you ever see that, though, and be like, what a wimp?
Amy
No, no, not if he does it like that. I mean, if he's like, feet, don't feel me now, and he runs. He runs without me to get away, then, yeah, that's. Now I'm unattracted that you ran away from something, but if you take me, you're calm, we escape, we're good.
Matt Castle
So I want to make sure we're not talking about them defending, like, your safety. That's a whole different thing.
Amy
Totally different.
Matt Castle
Right? Yeah, but it's like drunk get dudes. You looked at my girl crazy not to drink it. You don't. You don't want that. No. But you think they're turned on by that?
Lunchbox
Turned on by it? Like, Morgan, if you're at the bar and you're trying to get a drink and some guy comes and goes, get out of my way. S word.
Matt Castle
And what's The S word?
Lunchbox
Skank.
Matt Castle
1993. What bar are we in? Go ahead.
Lunchbox
You're telling me you're going to let your dude is going to just let the guy get away with that? No, he's gonna say, hey, put his hands on him, move him out of the way. That was my girl spot. And you ain't gonna call her the S word.
Amy
Like the B word. That's mostly what women are called.
Matt Castle
So. Okay, so let's just put this in a. There's a drunk dude and he's. He calls you the B word because you're like, in the way or you stepped on a shoe or something. Right. Do you want your dude to just punch him?
Amy
No. Oh, no. We don't know. We're not going to be reactionary in that way. Something. Then there's anger. And what's the. There's a deeper problem. Like. Yes. I want you to be upset that someone spoke to me. That way we both can be. It's disrespectful. However, we don't need to fight over it.
Matt Castle
Morgan.
Morgan
Yeah. If he just comes in and he just slides between the two of us and just kind of turns his back to the guy and puts space there, that is going to be. I'm going to be like, okay, hi. Yes, thank you. But if he turns to the guy and starts to try and defend my honor as lunchbox Says I will be like, I don't need this. This is not what I.
Matt Castle
Because that's not severe enough for there to be a fistfight. No.
Morgan
Is it disrespectful? And do you want it to happen?
Matt Castle
No.
Morgan
But if you're going to punch somebody over that, what else are you going to punch somebody over?
Matt Castle
It's a good point.
Amy
No. Yeah. You're too reactionary.
Matt Castle
What if you get beat up and you're the boyfriend? You get beat up? Like your girl never looks at you the same. No. No.
Lunchbox
At least you defended her honor.
Matt Castle
Oh, you say you'd rather get.
Lunchbox
At least you put your blood on the line for her instead of cowering.
Matt Castle
Like a little mouth.
Amy
Morgan and I are not the type of women that lunchwalks is. Because there might be women that are absolutely attracted to this.
Lunchbox
There are 100%. I see.
Matt Castle
I think he said it.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Matt Castle
Skanks. All right. Hey, it's Bobby Bones. Join me and former NFL quarterback Matt Castle every Wednesday for our new podcast, Lots to say with Bobby Bones and Matt Castle. Between us, we. It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest. It was a little pink.
Lunchbox
There was something sentimental when you. Like when. When you send it, it's like, do.
Matt Castle
I send the heart now? I don't like the color edition.
Lunchbox
It's extremely pink.
Matt Castle

Amy
So that's why we created the Big Take from Bloomberg Podcasts to give you the context you need to make sense of it all.
Lunchbox
Every day in just 15 minutes, we dive into one global business story that matters.
Amy
You'll hear from Bloomberg journalists like Matt Levine.
Bobby Bones
A lot of this meme stock stuff.
Matt Castle
Is, I think, embarrassing to the sec.
Morgan
Amanda Mull, who writes our Business Week Buying Power column.
Matt Castle
Very few companies who go viral are like totally prepared for what that means.
Amy
And Zoe Tillman, senior legal reporter Courts are not supposed to decide elections. Courts are not really supposed to play a big role in choosing our elected leaders. It's for the voters to decide.
Lunchbox
Follow the Big Take podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen.
Matt Castle
The Bobby Bones show this guy had about a 3 inch piece of chopstick behind his eyeball. You think he was doing the warrior thing. You have put him in your nose?
Amy
I mean, no. So it made its way up there through his nose.
Matt Castle
I get. The thing is, he goes in, he's 24 years old, he had a wooden chopstick lodged in his eye socket for three weeks. Didn't notice. Went to the hospital. Doctors had been said he'd been experiencing the symptoms, but it had gotten worse. And again, there's no eyeball injury, which is weird. A quick examination revealed that the mysterious object appeared to be a wooden chopstick that had penetrated from the soft tissue Outside the left orbit. Also, could it have been like, a piece of wood? I don't know. He rolls over on it and, like, it's sleeping, and it goes in his eye. He's okay.
Amy
Sleeping with your chopsticks.
Matt Castle
I don't know, dude. I'm just trying to come up with scenarios here. They asked him because he at first was like, I don't know. I don't know how this got in there. And I could understand that if it was in your butt.
Amy
And you just say that because you're embarrassed.
Matt Castle
Yeah, because you're like, I don't know. I don't know how the hedgehog got.
Amy
Up there, but honestly, that at least you could sit on accidentally.
Matt Castle
A hedgehog. Come on. Okay, so asked if he had any idea how the chopstick may have gotten stuck in his left eyeball, he said he could vaguely remember a collision with a friend. And they were drinking, but it wasn't like they were out chopstick fighting. They managed to safely remove the chopstick from his eye. So he had to be doing walrus. Right. Everybody knows walrus. Right? You put on your nose going. But it just started to get infected. And the X ray looks heinous. Gosh. I mean, it is a stick. And he's lucky that it didn't blow out his eyeball. That's crazy. Joe Exotic is still venting about Trump not pardoning him, But I think you do all of that when Trump's not in office. And now that he's back in office, you keep asking for the pardon. Sure.
Amy
Yeah.
Matt Castle
Because now he's back because Joe Exotic from Tiger King, which, by the way, that is the COVID show. To me, that. And what was the show where you didn't know what they look like and they're like Love is blind. Yeah. Those two we watched, those were. That reminds me of COVID But Joe Exotic not happy. He says all the evidence shows he's innocent. He should be next in line to get out of jail. He theorizes that maybe he had more success if he was a crack dealer. Well, why are they getting out? I don't know, man. But I don't think that would be a pardon. And again, I don't even remember what Joe Exotic did. I don't either. Like hiding dead animals or something. No, I don't think it had anything.
Bobby Bones
To do with the animals. Did it?
Amy
It did.
Lunchbox
It had to be threatening the other lady.
Amy
Yeah. Carol Baskin.
Matt Castle
Oh, yeah. I didn't even remember.
Amy
Mm.
Matt Castle
Wow. You're right. He was convicted of attempting to Hire two people, including an undercover FBI agent, to kill Carol Baskin. Oh, yeah. He shouldn't get out. He was convincing me we should reconsider it.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Matt Castle
If he was convicted of that for, like, hiring, you shouldn't get out just because you're famous. He was con. Oh, there's some more, though. He was convicted of killing five tigers. Okay, so there were animals. He was convicted of selling tiger cubs. He was convicted of falsifying Wild Life records. But that top one, that's the one. You can't hire somebody to kill somebody and then just want to get out. What's his sentence, do you know? Overall, 21 years. Yeesh. The court reduced the sentence by one year, resentencing him to 21 years in late January 2022. Everybody watched Tiger King in this room, right? Oh, yeah. Remember we had him off from prison. He was like, in an alley or like, he was. Yeah. Dang. I was reading this going, maybe we do. Maybe he was framed for, like, some tiger crimes he didn't commit. But I forgot he hired to kill somebody.
Morgan
I didn't watch it.
Matt Castle
You never watched Tiger King?
Morgan
No, because I had heard, like, the animal abuse stuff, and I was like, I don't think I can handle that. So I just never dove into it.
Matt Castle
The show isn't animal abuse as you're watching it, and it's not just animal abuse in front of you. It ends up, you start to see, or you maybe have a judgment. You shouldn't keep animals in cages. And that happens. But that's kind of after it was over at the end. Right. Because I wouldn't have stayed and watched the show where they were abusing animals. The whole show is, wow, this guy's got a whole tiger sanctuary in the middle of Oklahoma or Texas or Oklahoma. Right. She was in Florida.
Lunchbox
She was in Oklahoma.
Matt Castle
Yeah, she was in Florida. He was in Oklahoma, man. Tiger King staying in the news. Gosh, that's crazy. It feels like, like 10 years ago. JetBlue is sued after chunks of ice crashed through this house's roof.
Amy
Oh, my.
Matt Castle
JetBlue is being sued for a million bucks over watermelon sized chunks of ice. If that's true, and this is from a JetBlue complaint, if that's true, the JetBlue is lucky to hit somebody on the head and just kill somebody if. Wow. They think the ice fell off the plane. Michael Reese and Leah Ferrari alleged that the ice chunk caused hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of damage to their dream home. And they've been forced to move out because of renovations in addition to the damage is the million dollars needed to compensate them for emotional damage. Yeah. Okay. Well, also, it doesn't matter what house I lived in. If I were living in the house and I owned it and something happened, it had been, quote, my dream home too. Oh yeah.
Amy
How do they know it came off the JetBlue?
Matt Castle
Where else would a watermelon sized piece of ice come from? They probably investigated it.
Amy
I know, but. Well, I was just thinking how high up was the plane? Because sometimes planes, you can't. I mean, I guess they could see it or they check the radar, but.
Matt Castle
Do they just release ice?
Amy
That's why. I don't know, I've never. You would think this would happen way more.
Lunchbox
Well, I think that's why they de ice planes now is because if there's ice on it when it, as it flies, it starts to melt and it slides sort of like on the roof of your car.
Matt Castle
But I don't think they're doing it now. It's new. I think they've been deicing planes for a long time.
Amy
Yeah. And I thought that was the. For the protection of like the flight. Because you wouldn't fly. Not because it might damage something down below. But it could be a double thing, right?
Matt Castle
Could, but I don't think they're deicing planes now. They've been doing it for decades. Like deicing planes. Could it be like they were dumping the waste and it turning nice? Possibly, but do you dump waste over a neighborhood or an area that's. So Dave Matthews Band got in trouble once because they were driving a bus and Illinois, Chicago, I believe. And they released the waste, their bus waste, into the river and there were people under it in the boat. And they got poop. Rained on.
Amy
Yeah. That is that. You can claim emotional damage.
Matt Castle
That's emotional damage. Yeah. I'm also saying my dream home has been ruined by that too, Even if I'm not in my home. But that's a crazy one as well. One other thing. Beauty bias. Attractive people land better jobs and have higher salaries. I mean, this is life. I probably would be so much more successful if I was better looking. Dang. I've been. What if I've been held back by my looks?
Amy
Well, some people might argue.
Matt Castle
What would they argue about?
Amy
Define being held by myself.
Matt Castle
I got one eye. That doesn't work. I'm left handed. I got a limp.
Amy
Success.
Matt Castle
I got a limp today. My ankle hurts. But not generally. I don't always have a limp. Attractiveness provides a measurable career advantage that Compounds over time with attractive graduates being 52.4% more likely to hold prestigious positions. And pretty people earn up to 5,000 more on average a year, all across the board. The attractiveness premium varies by industry, but if you are better looking, you get 31% more jobs and interviews. Well.
Amy
And sometimes, don't you think it's not even just, okay, I get this is the look part of the beauty, but there are things you can do to contribute to your look, like dressing the part, being professional, all that apart.
Matt Castle
But imagine if you're just pretty. Imagine if you just have killer cheekbones. It's not fair. And people just see you and want to be like, dang, I'd like to lick their face. People think that. I don't know. Not about me. Yeah, not about me. Be nice. And it's probably a bit. Tell us more subconscious as well. Like, you don't even realize it.
Amy
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Matt Castle
You just. If it's a tie, tie goes to the runner and the runner, somebody pretty. I think about that with tall people, like, for sure, dude. For sure. Unfair, for sure. If you're tall. Look at presidents. They've mostly been really tall men throughout time. You want. They've people vote for if they're standing next to whomever they're running against. For the most part, presidents are always over six feet tall. Wow. Like, Trump's like six to six three. He is. Yeah. I saw him standing next to Gavin Newsom. Gavin Newsom's a beast. That dude's like 6. He has to be 63 or 64 because Trump's a big dude. Wow. Lunchbox beauty bias. Do you have it?
Lunchbox
I get it a lot. I think I get favors and I have beauty bias if I'm looking for someone to join my soccer team and I get two DMs from chicks. Take the hot one. She's probably better.
Matt Castle
Oh, gosh. That's funny that. It's about soccer. Rec league.
Amy
It's reckless.
Lunchbox
Yeah. I mean, when you see someone at a business meeting, like, you think when you walk in and there's two women. Right. You're probably like, the hot one probably knows more.
Matt Castle
I don't know that I think that. But Trump is 6:3. Like, look at sideline reporters, but TV anchors. Yes. Anybody doing a visual job. Yes. I make sure you hire pretty people for the most part.
Lunchbox
Yeah. You're going to listen to the hotter one more. You're like, oh, yeah. You know what? She probably has something to say. Let me. Let me tune in. Ugly one comes on the screen, you're like next channel.
Matt Castle
Okay, we're out of here. All right, thank you. Apparently, more twins exist. If you get the feeling that you're seeing more twins around these days. Well, that feeling is correct. According to a new study, the twinning rate has increased by one third since the 80s. Think about that. 33% rise in twins. The data shows the twins are up to about 10 twins per 1,000 deliveries. Raymundo is a twin. Any other twins in our group here? I don't think so, no.
Amy
But I feel like Ray, he's just. That happened naturally. I feel like it's on the rise because of fertility treatments. Right.
Matt Castle
I think that's a great point. And I would have never thought about that. So I can't say. Right. But I'm going, wow, great point. So, yeah, that makes sense. And triplets and quadruplets and I'd see Octomom was back in the news. Her kids are like 16 now.
Amy
I know, it was crazy to see them all grown.
Matt Castle
Yeah. The two people, they're always surprising. They to see how everyone has gotten older. Is octo mom and Kate plus eight. Because now it's like Kate plus eight adults that used to be her kids. And then whatever happened to John?
Amy
Yeah, I'm not quite sure.
Matt Castle
DJing for a while. Does she get all the kids?
Amy
Yeah, I don't know exactly. I mean, I feel like at one time, at one point in time I could have answered that, but I have lost connection.
Matt Castle
I think they missed a big opportunity for a reality show on TLC. Kate plus 8 plus Octomoms 8. Here's a story of 16 kids who were eating up everybody's checks. See, that'd been a good one. All right, next up, ever wonder why your dog obsesses about squeaky toys or just dogs in general? From Rover.com. get this. It's because dogs are descendants of wolves whose instincts include hunting smaller animals. And whenever you, well, bite into a smaller animal, they squeal or kill one.
Amy
Oh, that's terrible.
Matt Castle
The sound a squeaky toy makes is very similar to the sound a small animal makes when it's being attacked.
Amy
Oh, gosh.
Matt Castle
When a domesticated dog hears that, they get excited because their ancient killer survival skills are reacting. That's pretty wild. Stanley once ate a full squeak toy. And I wouldn't have known it except he opened his mouth once, like to yawn or something. He goes squeak. Oh, crap. I was at the ER that the animal er for like six hours. And they do the big scan. They're like, well, here's the squeaky toy. We can either go in for surgery or hopefully he can pass it about 12 hours later. I think he passed it.
Amy
Oh, he was just trying to go after his prey.
Matt Castle
Yeah. I don't think he ever. Any of his descendants did anything physical whatsoever. He comes from a family of lazy, fat, goofy bulldogs. But, you know, bulldogs used to actually pull dogs over. Like, pull bulls over. Like they would jump up and grab the top of a bull and then pull them over. No, that's why they were called bulldogs.
Amy
Really?
Matt Castle
I'm telling you, none of Stanley's family did that. They were kicked out of the village probably because they pulled over no bulls.
Amy
Okay.
Matt Castle
A study finds both men and women are attracted to younger partners, even if they don't know it. This is from the Independent. Men and women are equally attracted to younger partners, even if consciously they do not realize it. A study from the University of California, Davis, found both sexes tend to favor younger individuals when dating. The study involved 5,000 people participating in blind dates. The platform matched individuals based on shared interest and the desire for long term relationships. This finding challenges common assumptions that men in established relationships are typically older and women also express a preference for older partners. Again, that's what they thought. But they found very little evidence for the women part. The dudes are like, yeah, we're right all along.
Amy
How much younger are we talking, though?
Matt Castle
Well, it doesn't give an age group here. It's just mostly you go, men like the younger ones, and then women, when they're young, they like the older ones. But it sounds like women like the younger ones too. You think that's some kind of breeding? You know, a dog's eating squid toys, our ancestors.
Amy
I feel like that makes sense for, you know, why men might like younger women for that purpose. But men, y'all can breed until you're 100.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Matt Castle
But if you're 25, it's a little more potent, I've been told.
Amy
Yeah. I think that when we are looking for older men at a certain age, we're looking for more mature men. Like, emotionally, personality wise.
Matt Castle
Not as potent though, if you know what I'm saying.
Amy
Okay.
Matt Castle
All right. Coldplay just played two huge shows in India and they both were the biggest shows ever. More than 111,000 people attended each show. You can't even see it. Like you. If you're at the very back of that, like you're back there at the beer tent and Coldplay's playing up at the front on the stage, or you get there right before the show starts. You can't even see it. You have to watch it on the screen. There's no way you can see that. Secondly, what time do you have to get there to be let in, to run up to get to the gate? I think we've all done that as something in our life, right, where it's like, the gates are open. Get up to the front of the gate. You ever do that for anything, Amy?
Amy
No. I really wanted to go to that George Strait concert that had about 110,000 people at Kyle Field. Remember? I would have. I would have gotten there as early as possible to do it, but that's a coulda, shoulda, woulda.
Matt Castle
I did it at Six Flags Over Texas to get to the Texas Giant once.
Amy
No, you didn't.
Matt Castle
Yes, I did. Why would I not do that? Our whole church group, our youth group went from Arkansas. We went down in a van, and I. When it opened, I sprinted as fast as I could to get to the Texas Giant immediately. And then I waited at the gate. And I think it was a piece of crap. It was, like wooden. It didn't go upside down. Nobody told me, but it went upside down. All right, that's it. That's the news. Thank you. Those were Bobby's big stories. Bones. Hey, it's Bobby Bones. It felt like I told you I loved you. I'm gonna be honest. It was a little pink.
Lunchbox
There was something sentimental when you. When you send it. It was like, do I send the heart now?
Matt Castle
I don't like the color edition.
Lunchbox
It's extremely pink.

Matt Castle
Very few companies who go viral are like totally prepared for what that means.
Amy
And Zoe Tillman, senior legal reporter, courts are not supposed to decide elections. Courts are not really supposed to play a big role in choosing our elected leaders. It's for the voters to decide.

Matt Castle
The White House press secretary spoke yesterday about the drones. Do you guys see the clip?
Amy
No.
Matt Castle
No. Anybody? She was like, the drones, they were all FAA allowed for a lot of activity. They were so generic about it. Where she was like, the FAA knew about it for that and another activities. Here's what the specific thing was. After research and study, the drones who Were flying over New Jersey in large numbers, Were authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons. That various other reasons is how they get you on a contract sometimes when they're like. And other services, because it can mean anything. So they really didn't say anything because that was the thing. We'll tell you what the drones is. But when they say authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other. Even research. Research for what? A nuclear weapon. So I feel like nothing was said there. Does that make you feel better about the drones, Amy?
Amy
No, not really, But I haven't been that concerned about them, to be honest.
Matt Castle
Okay. Does it give you any more clarity about the drones?
Amy
No, I still think we're being lied to.
Matt Castle
Very much so. Well, various other things. They kind of have it covered right there. Right. There's a manhunt underway for a North Carolina inmate who crawled through the ventilation system to escape. So it's weird about prison breaks. Like, jail breaks. Like. Cause instinctually you're like, oh, man, I hope they get away. But then we don't even really know what they did. There's just something romantic about breaking out of prison.
Amy
Romantic?
Matt Castle
Yeah. It's like the 1800 guys did it. The cartel guys do it. It's like, the. How can they beat the system? And when it's, like, boiled down to it, no, nobody should be break Shawshank Redemption. Like, there's just something romantic about breaking out of prison. Like, it's the old tale in America. As old as time. The guy breaks out of prison and the cops. I don't know. There's something about it where you root for him. It's like a bank robbery. Like, you're like, I should never root for a bank robber. I don't root for bank robbers. But you're like, dang, I wonder if they got away. So this guy escaped through a ventilation system. Detention officers realized he was missing Sunday afternoon. Officials say his cellmates helped hide the fact he was gone. Agents from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigators and the U.S. marshal Service Fugitive Task Force are looking for John Matthew Nye. Now, when I say that lunchbox, what is your thought?
Lunchbox
Well, I thought it was pretty cool that he escaped. I always think it's cool when people escape, like you said. And then I read that.
Matt Castle
Yes.
Lunchbox
Yeah.
Matt Castle
What he did. Same. Right. Because until you know what they did, you just think the idea of it, of someone figuring out the system.
Lunchbox
Yeah. And it's pretty cool that you were able to confide in your cellmates, like, they. They worked as a team because most people would be like, well, if you're going, I want to go with you. But no, they stuffed the mattress to make it look like he was sleeping. So they were, like, willing to say, you know what? You go out and we'll cover for you. That's crazy.
Matt Castle
Oldest trick. Fake the mattress, sleep. Put some, like. Like hay or a dummy. They did that in sitcoms. He's being held on attempted murder. So when that part comes out, you're like, no, we got to get him. Like, that's, like, the reality of it coming into play. Not the TV show version that plays in our heads or the MOV version of some sort of jailbreak.
Lunchbox
Yeah, he was arrested back in June on suspicion of shooting at deputies.
Matt Castle
So did he. Did he hit anybody?
Lunchbox
I don't say hit anybody, but I guess shooting towards them is called attempted murder attempt.
Matt Castle
Oh, yeah, Attempted. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So he didn't. Okay, well, I still want him to catch him. How about that? Yeah, I should want him to catch anybody. But again, part of me thinks, like, in movies and TV shows, they're always innocent, and so they're just breaking out because they're. They're really innocent. But this is real life. It's not a movie. Amy, when the Eagles win, which, by the way, you psychically predict they'll win the Super Bowl.
Amy
Yeah.
Matt Castle
In Philadelphia, they all climb the light poles.
Lunchbox
Oh, that's terrible.
Matt Castle
And so before even they play a big game, they will go and grease the light pole so people cannot climb up them. Like, before the game this past week, when they played, they played in Philly against Washington, there were people all day long greasing all the light poles. In Philadelphia, because it's their thing. They climb up the light poles and party, and then people can fall and get hurt or whatever. But the story now is a Temple University student died after falling from a light pole while celebrating the Eagles NFC championship win. Like, that's why they try to keep people off of them, because you go up there, you're drunk. Did you see the guy in Philly shoot up in the air with a gun? It was on Tick Tock. It's blowing up. No where. It's a massive, like, you know, hundred thousand people on the streets. They win the game, and you see his hand come up and just shoot into the air like a starter's pistol. Boom, boom, boom. And for, like, a split second, people are like, huh? And they're just like, ah, screw it. They just keep partying.
Amy
Golly. I guess police Are. So I just googled it. Police are still looking for who it was.
Matt Castle
That shot or that. The pole.
Amy
Oh, that shot. Well, I mean, this is from yesterday. Philadelphia police are actively searching for a man who was caught on video firing a gun while standing in a huge crowd of Eagles fans.
Matt Castle
You can see his face. You're not gonna have to search very hard. Unless all of his 10,000 buddies are, like, these guys in the jail cell that protected him. They go to his house, and there's a. A hay version of his body in a bed. They can't find him either.
Amy
So the guy that climbed the light pole, they didn't grease that one. So he was able to get up it or what?
Matt Castle
Not sure. I would imagine they greased all of them, and I guess you could probably.
Amy
Oh, my gosh. He was.
Matt Castle
Could you just go with a towel and, like, ungrease it? Like, wipe all the grease off? Yeah. No. Yeah. I'm telling you. But it's a real thing. Terrible. They do it so often that they go and grease the poles. There's a man in New Jersey, he stole from the Same store over 40 times in two months. Man. @ what point do you realize, man, every time, like, we're missing a lot of bananas? This guy comes in, it always seems like we have a few less bananas. 40 times. Stanford Police. Stafford police in New Jersey say a man stole $1,800 worth of merchandise from the store Shoprite in over 40 different incidents. He was charged with shoplifting. In the stories in custody, patch.com. like, you got to realize, because we used to do inventory every week at Hobby Lobby. We would do inventory once a month. We'd eat it big 40 times. That's a lot of instances of him stealing stuff. So another thing I wanted to talk about was next week there will be the Bobby cast with Tom Green, who I was a massive fan of in my 20s and 30s, of super colleagues at the house. And we asked Morgan, we said, morgan, do you know who Tom Green is? She did not, because she's a little younger. And then, Morgan, what happened?
Morgan
So I was listening to the radio, and the real Slim Shady song comes on by Eminem. And I'm listening to it just like I have before. I've heard the song a million times. And all of a sudden I hear the lyric, well, you let Tom Green hump a dead moose. And I was like, dang, I know who that is now. I, for all these years, never understood that lyric whatsoever. And now I have the reference. And did he actually hump a Dead Moose.
Matt Castle
Yes, he did. It was one of his bits. That's gross. Yeah, that's a lot of shock. But, yeah, Tom Green was a massive part of culture, pop culture for like five to seven years, where Eminem was rapping about him. And one of his biggest songs ever. Do you have the exact lyric, Mike? Yeah, it is. Is it My bum is on you. Yeah. Sometimes they can get on TV and just let loose, but can't. But it's cool for Tom Green to hump a dead moose. And he goes, my bum is on your lips. My bum is on your lips. And that is actually from Tom Green's Bum Bum song, where it's like, my bum is on your head, My bum is on your head.
Morgan
Oh, so there's even more of that reference. I just noticed his name in it.
Matt Castle
Yeah. Tom Green had the Bum Bum song, which he. You know, he was a rapper when he was younger in Canada. They had a little deal. But then he did a funny song called the Bum Bum Song where he walked around and was like, my bum is on your pizza. My bum is on your pizza. And so that song was number one on trl. And it got so big that they had recorded some of the episodes of TRL ahead of time because, like, a holiday was coming up. It was number one for so many days. They made him retire the video because the recorded episodes had, like, in sync or something as the number one song, because they had been for so long. But his song had come in and smashed all. Every song. And because they were already recorded, he wasn't going to be number one the next day. So they had him go on and retire it. He didn't want to retire it. He was like this song killing. But I don't think it was ever released. Released. Right, Mike? Just on his show. Was it ever, like, on a CD or anything? Let me see. Because the video was on trl, obviously, and it was on the Tom Green show, but I don't know that it was ever on. You go buy it as a cd.
Morgan
Yeah. I've had so many just. You guys have taught me so many things that I never noticed just in my everyday life. And that was one of them. And I kind of a. Aha. Moment.
Matt Castle
What say, Mike? He released it later, like, in 2005, officially. What year did it. Officially. Did it come out the first time? I think 2000. Yeah. That was a jam. Amy, do you remember that? My bum is on your head. And they don't make music like they used to.
Amy
No.
Matt Castle
Do they? Dang. How was Your night last night. What? You do anything?
Amy
No. B. Basketball game.
Morgan
What else?
Amy
No. Watched a little bit of younger. I've been watching that on Netflix and then went to bed pretty early.
Matt Castle
We watched a little more Night Action. Whatever it's called.
Amy
Night Agent.
Matt Castle
Whatever.
Amy
Why are you such a hater?
Matt Castle
Why are you?
Amy
You are. But why are you still watching it?
Matt Castle
Because we're. We're. We're all the. We're in it.
Amy
Okay.
Matt Castle
And it's actually okay. It's pretty good. It's just so cool. Corny. Season two is a little less corny than season one. I think they looked at their notes. Season one is every cliche that has ever existed in the history of any sort of CIA show. Season two is a little better.
Morgan
I was gonna say I finished season two, and I don't feel like it's as bad as you're giving the hate for.
Matt Castle
Oh, my God. And again, it could be the juxtaposition of up against the Diplomat, the Agency, Lioness. Lioness. Where it's like, see where. Those shows are awesome.
Amy
Yeah. It's not the same, but it's not totally terrible.
Matt Castle
I'm not saying it's totally terrible.
Amy
You gave it two out of five, season one.
Matt Castle
Yeah. You guys built it way up.
Amy
Maybe. We watched season one when there was a lull.
Morgan
It was because Lioness and all those had not come out yet. So we did watch it before all of the ones he's watching in reverse order.
Amy
Yeah.
Matt Castle
So, yeah, we only watch it now if there's a lull in shows we're already watching. For example, Severance comes out every Sunday. Or Friday. Maybe Friday.
Amy
I think it's Fridays. Apple shows on Fridays.
Matt Castle
Friday. Yeah. And so after we watch Severance, we don't have anything we're currently watching. We were watching the Agency, but that went off. Its final episode was his last week. It's awesome. A little slow at the beginning, but it's having to set up characters like CIA characters. But then we have nothing else, so we're. We'll go like, you watch the dumb show or. No. So then we watch it. We want to. We. We hate Rose.
Amy
Oh, why?
Matt Castle
Because she's so annoying. She's not part of anything. And she's like, I demand to be a part of stuff.
Amy
Well, she has a skill.
Matt Castle
Rose is so annoying. She may be one of the most annoying characters. Most annoying characters of all time on television. Let's talk through them. Number one, the Brady Bunch. That cousin that came in.
Amy
What? You're going, what?
Matt Castle
Yes.
Amy
Oliver. Oliver sucked how long have you been holding on to that one?
Matt Castle
I hated Oliver on Brady Bunch. What do you mean? I used to watch on Nick and Knight all the time. Oliver was a terrible character. I haven't seen Oliver in a long time. I don't even know if he's still alive. Terrible character on Walking Dead. The sun, so annoying. I just wanted a zombie to get it over with and eat him because he was so annoying. Always falling down or like, exploring by himself. Carl. Carl sucked.
Amy
Carl.
Matt Castle
Terrible.
Amy
Carl in a while.
Matt Castle
Rose, she's up there in the night Agent. Night Shift. What's it called?
Amy
Night Agent.
Matt Castle
Thank you. It doesn't start off where she's so annoying, but then she just thinks all of a sudden she can be in every, like, high class. I'm getting kicked out of a classified meeting. Rose, shut up. Walk out. Rose is annoying character. That's about it. It's about my whole list. I didn't have it prepared. You have any annoying characters, Amy?
Amy
No. I mean, I'm with you on Carl.
Matt Castle
Dude, Carl would make me so mad.
Amy
I can't think of anybody.
Matt Castle
Eventually you just have to sacrifice the kid at some point.
Amy
Well, since I am re watching Younger, I will say Josh is getting on my nerves this time around. And he didn't the first time around. Like, my friend Gracie and I have been sending each other voice text about it. Like, why are we so annoyed by Josh this time around? Because Netflix just uploaded Younger, so we watched it years ago. Wherever it was, I don't even remember. But now Netflix has it, so it's just one of those things you can kind of have on mindlessly. But Josh is getting on my nerves.
Matt Castle
And so it's not because he's a villain? Because.
Amy
No.
Matt Castle
Okay. There are characters I dislike because they're purposefully meant to be disliked. But yeah, I don't watch the show, but I'll.
Amy
Have you ever seen Younger at all? Do you know what I'm talking about?
Matt Castle
Yeah.
Amy
With Hillary Duff.
Matt Castle
It would come on Nick at Naked Night. Way back in the day, I watched an episode or two when it was new. I. It wasn't for me.
Amy
Younger came on Nick at night.
Matt Castle
Yeah.
Amy
Oh, really? Yeah.
Matt Castle
When Nick and I was doing newer shows, would come on at like 8pm or something.
Amy
Oh, okay.
Matt Castle
Or TV Land. I think it was a TV Land, which is the same, but it was. I think it was a TV Land specific show. Is that right, Mike? Yeah, it was on TV Land.
Bobby Bones
Yeah.
Matt Castle
So I gave it. I watched a little bit. You know who else was kind of annoying? Skyler from Breaking Bad. She got to be pretty annoying, the wife.
Amy
She didn't bother me at first.
Matt Castle
She didn't bother me because it's like it's going to be a meth, crystal meth. But she got to be kind of an annoying character. Lunchbox, anybody come to your mind?
Lunchbox
No, I don't even. I can't think. There's been some people on the challenge, like, Fessy. He's really annoying. Every season. I could do without him.
Matt Castle
As in, he's a villain or just, why is he there?
Lunchbox
No, he. He's. I mean, I get why he's there. Like, he's a former football player in college. He's good athlete, but he thinks he's better than he is. He's just kind of annoying. Tries to mouth off to ct and CT put him in his place. Like, we don't play those games. Like you're a child. Like, it was pretty funny.
Matt Castle
Do you feel like a bit you get annoyed? Because, I mean, some people, I don't know who they would be, would say you have those characteristics. Like, are you jealous of him for being on the show when you have all those same characteristics?
Lunchbox
I. I do get annoyed. Like, when I see people on there, I'm like, man, they don't have any. Like, no, no, no.
Matt Castle
I mean, the way you describe the guy, I think some people would feel that way about you. Like, mouthing off, really not having much. You know, that. That type thing.
Lunchbox
People would say that about me.
Matt Castle
I mean, I don't know them. No, I don't.
Lunchbox
But, I mean, I do have a little bit of jealousy. Just a tinge. Is that what it's called, a tinge of jealousy? Because they are on that show. It does make me a little jealous.
Matt Castle
Was there anybody in the Office that was annoying? Because eventually what they did, it was a little bit. Will Ferrell's character got annoying at the end, but he was only on briefly to help that Michael Scott departure. But he was so. He wasn't a permanent one. And he. And very funny for some of the episodes. It just was too much. I ended up liking Aaron and Andy, and it's hard to get those secondary characters to be well liked. Oh, I know who I hated on that stupid show. I love the Office, but it was a stupid show. Whenever the camera guy, the boom microphone guy fell and was trying to flirt with Pam when her and Jim were fighting, I hated that guy. He was annoying. He had no use on the show. He's like the document. Documentarian. Do you guys remember Him? Yeah.
Lunchbox
Do you just hate him because he was going after the relationship that you liked on that?
Matt Castle
No, he was just like a scuzzy dude.
Lunchbox
Oh.
Matt Castle
Yeah. I don't really care if they got together or not. Like, you rooted for them at the time, but. Anybody else remember him?
Lunchbox
Yeah. What about on the Friends, you guys? I mean, I didn't watch that show.
Amy
Everybody.
Lunchbox
If there's bad people on that show that are annoying.
Morgan
Oh, I have a good one.
Matt Castle
Go ahead.
Morgan
The guy in Ted Lasso. Shelley, the coach that. Like the kid who becomes the coach later.
Matt Castle
Oh. Oh. I thought he was needed.
Morgan
No, he. There were moments where he just really ticked me off.
Matt Castle
Nathan Shelley? Yeah. The one good guy to bad guy. Yeah.
Morgan
He felt really annoying to me in certain moments. I was just like, what are you doing?
Lunchbox
Okay. I mean, but I think they made him that way. Like, that's his care.
Morgan
I don't know, guys. He really.
Matt Castle
Hey, if she's annoyed by it, it's her feeling.
Lunchbox
That's true.
Matt Castle
It's her feeling. Okay, cool. We're good here. Anything else you want to say, Amy? About anybody annoying?
Amy
No.
Matt Castle
Free range. Go ahead. That's the man of the bus. How about real life? People annoying? No. Yeah. Free reign.
Amy
No. No, I try not.
Matt Castle
You have diplomatic immunity. Say whatever you want.
Amy
I'm not going to let people disrupt my peace.
Matt Castle
Okay, good. Good for you. Okay.
Amy
I've been reading. My sister sent me Mel Robbins new book, Let them. The Let Them Theory. And I just got to a chapter yesterday that was about like, let them think negative thoughts about you. Like, if you are too worried about what other people are going to think about you, you can just release it and let them think it. You can't control it, so why are you going to give it brain space?
Matt Castle
Yeah. My TED Talk was called Let them hug on News.
Amy
No, it wasn't.
Matt Castle
Huh. And I pulled them out and I was like, hug on these. No, you didn't.
Amy
What was the name of your TED Talk?
Matt Castle
Winning by losing.
Amy
But didn't you misspell something?
Matt Castle
Yeah. On purpose. Or so we say. You never know. Never know because the whole thing was about screwing up. And it ended up turning into my second book, which is Fail until you don't. Because I was never gonna write another book. But yeah, there may have been some errors, but they could have been purposefully put in. Or are we just saying that now because we messed up? That you'll never know. Okay, cool. Let's go. Bobby Bone Show Bonehead. Story of the day.
Lunchbox
This story comes to us from London, England. There's a drug kingpin's been on the run for years. US Authorities been tracking him. Tracking him, Couldn't find him. Well, he took a vacation with his wife, and his wife decided, let's post some pictures on Instagram, and it shows them all over England at the beach. And so authorities called. Authorities over, said, hey, can you get this guy for us?
Matt Castle
Boom.
Bobby Bones
Got him.
Matt Castle
Tracked him by the picture.
Amy
I wonder, did he know his wife was posting, or does he follow her on social?
Matt Castle
Is he on social? I know. Do you think he has somebody like Killer? Oh, gosh, if now he's in jail forever and she's the one that did it. Do you think, like, one of the.
Lunchbox
You know, I didn't think about that.
Matt Castle
Yeah. I don't know that happened, but I saw the story. It's funny. Until you. Then you go, I wonder what happens next. Okay, I'm lunchbox.
Lunchbox
That's your bonehead story of the day, I think.
Matt Castle
Amy, you told me this, that Wendy's and the Girl Scouts are doing a Thin Mint Frosty. Yeah, that's pretty good.
Amy
I know. I can't wait. Is it already out?
Matt Castle
Wendy's has announced its partnership with Girl scouts of the USA. The Thin Mint Frosty will be out February 21st for a limited time.
Amy
Okay, so we got a bit.
Matt Castle
Most of the time when we talk about food and this brand, teams with this brand, like, oh, that sounds good. I never think about it again after we get off the air, but I think if they have it on a sign and I'm driving by Wendy's, I might stop and get one of these.
Amy
Oh, for sure, because that's good. Thin Mints from the freezer are so great. So imagine them in a Frosty, but it's just.
Matt Castle
Frosties are good.
Amy
Yeah, that's what I mean.
Matt Castle
Yeah, but saw that. That's good. We're done with the show. We will see you tomorrow. Thank you for listening. Goodbye, everybody. Podcast Summary: The Bobby Bones Show
Episode: WEDS PT 2: Do Amy And Morgan Like Guys Who Fight? + Do Pretty People Have It Easier?
Release Date: January 29, 2025
Host/Author: Premiere Networks
In this engaging episode of The Bobby Bones Show, host Bobby Bones teams up with former NFL quarterback Matt Castle, alongside guests Amy and Morgan. The conversation spans a variety of topics, from lighthearted humor to serious societal issues, offering listeners a mix of entertainment and insightful discussions.
[02:47]
The show kicks off with Amy introducing "The Morning Corny," a segment featuring football-themed jokes. Amy shares her first joke:
Amy: "Why did the wide receiver open a bakery?"
Matt Castle: "Why?"
Amy: "He wanted to catch turnovers."
While the joke receives mixed reactions, Amy continues with another attempt:
Amy: "Why did the football fan bring a blanket to the game?"
Matt Castle: "Why?"
Amy: "To cover the spread."
The segment highlights the hosts' playful banter and sets a humorous tone for the episode.
[05:15]
The hosts discuss a recent incident involving a United Airlines Flight 613 that experienced a sudden plunge midair, leading to an emergency landing. Approximately 40 passengers were hurt, with six hospitalized for serious injuries.
Matt Castle: "A United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing after the plane abruptly plunged in midair, hurting nearly 40 people on board."
Lunchbox, one of the guests, shares a personal anecdote about a similar experience, emphasizing the fear and chaos such situations can induce. The discussion delves into aviation safety and passenger preparedness during turbulence.
[08:32]
The conversation shifts to a troubling news story about a Florida principal arrested for hosting an underage party at her home, where over 100 children were found drinking alcohol.
Matt Castle: "The principal of Roosevelt Elementary School was arrested alongside teacher Carly Anderson after the principal hosted a 'open house party.'"
The hosts debate the responsibilities of educators and the repercussions of such misconduct, highlighting concerns about authority figures abusing their positions.
[12:15]
The primary discussion centers on whether women are attracted to men who engage in physical fights. Matt Castle introduces the topic with a scientific angle:
Matt Castle: "Because dopamine has been linked to male aggression for decades. So whenever you fight and you win, there's a dopamine release, makes you feel good. So you go and look to fight more times."
Amy and Morgan express their perspectives, emphasizing a preference for men who exhibit restraint rather than aggression.
Amy: "I'm more attracted to a man that would walk away from a situation and still want to protect me, but not in a way that he has to get physical with somebody else."
Morgan: "9 times out of 10, I do not want him fighting... restraint is so much more attractive."
The discussion underscores the complexity of aggression in relationships and the importance of emotional intelligence over physical dominance.
[28:26]
Another significant topic is beauty bias—the societal advantage that attractive individuals may have in professional settings.
Matt Castle: "Attractiveness provides a measurable career advantage that compounds over time with attractive graduates being 52.4% more likely to hold prestigious positions."
The hosts explore statistics showing that pretty people earn up to $5,000 more annually on average and are 31% more likely to secure jobs and interviews. They also debate the subconscious factors that contribute to these biases.
Amy: "Sometimes, don't you think it's not even just, okay, I get this is the look part of the beauty, but there are things you can do to contribute to your look, like dressing the part, being professional, all that apart."
The conversation highlights the pervasive nature of beauty standards and their impact on career and personal success.
[24:14]
The hosts touch upon the enduring popularity of Joe Exotic from the Tiger King series, discussing his ongoing legal battles and public persona.
Matt Castle: "He was convicted of attempting to hire two people, including an undercover FBI agent, to kill Carol Baskin."
The dialogue reflects on the show's influence and Joe Exotic's controversial legacy in pop culture.
[47:19]
A nostalgic segment reminisces about Tom Green, his humorous antics, and references in popular music, particularly by Eminem.
Morgan: "I've heard the song a million times. And all of a sudden I hear the lyric, 'well, you let Tom Green hump a dead moose.' And I was like, dang, I know who that is now."
Matt Castle elaborates on Tom Green's impact and the memorable "Bum Bum Song," showcasing the interconnectedness of comedy and music in pop culture.
[54:28]
The hosts debate various annoying characters from popular TV shows, sharing personal grievances and humorous critiques.
Matt Castle: "Rose, she's up there in the Night Agent. She got to be pretty annoying, the wife."
Amy: "Josh is getting on my nerves this time around."
The segment emphasizes the relatability of disliking certain fictional characters and how they influence viewer enjoyment.
As the episode wraps up, the hosts share upcoming events, promote their other podcasts, and engage in light-hearted banter about personal interests and future content.
Matt Castle: "Listen to Lots to Say with Bobby Bones and Matt Castle on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts."
The episode concludes with a blend of humor and anticipation for future discussions, leaving listeners both entertained and informed.
Matt Castle [12:15]: "Because dopamine has been linked to male aggression for decades. So whenever you fight and you win, there's a dopamine release, makes you feel good. So you go and look to fight more times."
Amy [28:26]: "Sometimes, don't you think it's not even just, okay, I get this is the look part of the beauty, but there are things you can do to contribute to your look, like dressing the part, being professional, all that apart."
Morgan [47:43]: "I've had so many just. You guys have taught me so many things that I never noticed just in my everyday life. And that was one of them. And I kind of had an Aha. Moment."
