Lauren LaRosa
Lauren came in hot. Hey y', all, what's up? It's Lauren the Rosa. And this is another episode of the latest with Lauren the Rosa. This is your daily dig on all things pop culture, entertainment news and all of the conversations that shake the room, baby. Now we are going to get right on into the Latest. Normally, we check in behind the scenes of the grind, but we are going to get right on into the latest today because we have a confirmation of sorts. So Tom Holland, Zendaya. It has been rumored for some time that Tom Holland and Zendaya were actually married. They were engaged. We started seeing Zendaya out with this ring. I mean, even before that, we were seeing Tom Holland and all of the family cookouts. So, you know, he was in there. Okay. But a few, like, months back, Law Roach, who was in Daya's famed stylist, like the. The duo is a match made in heaven, was actually on a red carpet. And we thought he was just, like, teasing us or maybe just, I don't know, like, I didn't think that he was serious because I'm like, why would Law. Why would he be the one to break the news? Yeah. I don't know. I just. You just never know. I, I, for some reason, I thought Law Roach was. Was trolling us, but now we're finding out that he was not. Now, here's what Law Roach had to say several months ago on a carpet about whether Zendaya. About Zendaya's marriage. Let's take a listen. The wedding has already happened. You missed it.
Pfizer Cancer Screening Advocate
It's not true.
Lauren LaRosa
It's very true. Thank you so much. So, of course, reports erupted, things went everywhere. Zendaya went on a whole press run following this, and she even played around and flirted with the idea of, like, marriage. Rumors of the marriage and the AI photos of the wedding that we didn't even know happened until LA Roach told us. And that's also too why I thought Laurel Roach was trolling us, because Zedaya didn't come right out and just confirm anything after she did this.
Interviewer/Co-host
The stories about that you might actually be married, really? To Tom?
Lauren LaRosa
Haven't seen any of them.
James Dolan (or Knicks Representative)
There are.
Interviewer/Co-host
To the point where. And this is one of those things that I don't really understand. Yeah. Yeah. People make these AI. These AI wedding photos that look very realistic of you guys together.
Narrator/Promoter (Prime Video)
It's. Yeah. And many people have been fooled by them.
Lauren LaRosa
While I was, like, just out and
Narrator/Promoter (Prime Video)
about in real life, and people were
Lauren LaRosa
like, oh, my God, your wedding photos are gorgeous.
Narrator/Promoter (Prime Video)
And I was like, babe, they're AI.
Interviewer/Co-host
They're not real.
That's crazy.
Narrator/Promoter (Prime Video)
They're not real.
Interviewer/Co-host
Was anyone in your life fooled by them in your real life?
Lauren LaRosa
Yes, many people.
Interviewer/Co-host
And mad that they weren't invited.
James Dolan (or Knicks Representative)
Yeah.
Interviewer/Co-host
Yeah.
Lauren LaRosa
But now we have a confirmation. Okay. Congratulations to Zendaya and Tom Holland. They're married. So when being asked about the marriage, he's. He's talking about how, like, you know, even some of his family members, his grandmother, one of his grandmothers, to be specific, was asking him about AI photos that they were seeing online of, like, a wedding and, like, you know, not getting invites and stuff like that. And the interviewer asked, like, well, are any of your family members ever calling you and upset or confused because they didn't get an invite to a wedding? And whole time, this is not real. It's all AI. Tom Holland says no because they were all there. Baby, we got the confirmation, okay? And I don't even know. Like, I think for me, the excitement comes because, number one, I just like to see women be able to have it all. Zendaya is booked and busy out the way. She's getting her money, she's getting her coin, the branding is there. She is gorgeous. She now has, you know, her love. I am a proponent of black love, you know, but, hey, to each his own. But I think the bigger thing here is I just love to watch women be able to maneuver the entertainment industry and the conversation. I mean, we. We've been watching Zendaya work her whole life, right? So her getting with Tom Holland, who was also a huge actor as well, wasn't going to change the conversation. You know, they. They both have. I think their careers have pushed past the point where their relationship would become the focal point of their career, if you guys know what I mean. Like, they're a celebrity and their star is so big. But I love seeing women, especially black women, be able to control that narrative for themselves the way that she did. Another person that I talked a lot about on this podcast when she did it was Taylor Rooks. I love the way that she just, you know, popped out. Mary. She was able to control things. And I'm not saying that to say that I think all relationships have to be kept a secret because Taylor Brooks, we didn't even know she was, like, really in one. Like, I think they were like, if you knew, you knew type of thing popped out whole wedding. Okay, Zendaya, Tom Holland, obviously, we know that they're in a relationship. What I'm saying is that a lot of times, like, when you're a person living in this, like this. This spotlight or working in this business, especially women, there's this fixation on people knowing every single little detail about your personal life, especially when it comes to your relationship and children and. And honestly, for some women in this industry, I think there's always A conversation about, like, whether you have to let people in on that or not in order to. For them to feel close to you, the way that you're now taught because of social media and all these things that your fans should be close to you. So this is a celebration for Zendaya. This is celebration for all of the girls who are able to really just, you know, like, enjoy their. Their. Enjoy their joy. Give us a little piece of it when they want to and enjoy their joy. Now, Taylor Swift, y' all know I was going to add her in here, is gearing up for a wedding at msg, according to sources. I was going to say she hasn't come out and. And said that it isn't happening, but I don't even know if she would. But at this point, I really do believe the reporting because you have James Dolan who's like, you know, one of the heads over there with the Knicks who said this here.
James Dolan (or Knicks Representative)
There might be some talk about Beyonce or Taylor Swift.
Lauren LaRosa
Anything we should look forward to?
Interviewer/Co-host
No, not the. The. Not in discussions with either one. With T. They're both, of course, fabulous artists, right? But we, we have quite a long list, right, of people who, you know, of artists who want to play the sphere, and it's just not in their plans. Well, eventually I'm sure we'll see them or we'll build another sphere for them to play.
Lauren LaRosa
You have Mary, Mom, Donnie, who is celebrating the Knicks and the big win and all the big major things that are happening in New York, names Taylor Swift 2. Let's take a listen.
James Dolan (or Knicks Representative)
You've mentioned we are the biggest city in the country. We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with the Knicks finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding, all happening at the same time. And we are so excited to welcome the world here. And I'll say one of the beautiful things about Saturday was you walked around the city, you saw people in Brazil jerseys, you saw people in Morocco jerseys, you saw people in Knicks jerseys. It feels like a city that is coming to life, especially with the love of the game, whether it's basketball or football.
Lauren LaRosa
Now, I don't know if these people are just going off of the reports now, James Dolan, I feel like he would know a little something. You know, I mean, he's like, really close to the situation. Maram, Donnie, potentially, because I think maybe police and fire would be involved a bit because they would be securing that air area. At that day is supposed to be going down on July 3rd. And all these celebrities are supposed to be in town. So maybe. But James Dolan, for him to not push back and say that the wedding isn't happening there. I don't know if he's just that smart media wise or if this is a real thing, but she's been controlling the narrative too, honestly. I mean, there have been stories that have been leaked, but in my opinion, they're all going to the same outlet. They're all going to tmz, which is very consistent. That means that whoever the source is is the same source and is a trusted source and they're leaning in on that source. And we're like slowly getting little sprinkles of the wedding because this is going to be one of the biggest weddings of the year. And maybe there's like a business component behind it and that's why the hype is coming around it. But what I love about the way that Zendaya and Tom Holland went about this, if they're not all just trolling us, right, because they could be, is the fact that, like, it had to be very intimate. It had to be very intimate, very personal, because we ain't seen it. We ain't seen it. We ain't seen nothing there. Nothing. Not near photo. Like, they really got a chance to, like, live in their, like, moment together. And I think again with Taylor Rooks, it reminds me of her in her wedding because she got to live her wedding and she let us know when she was ready. Congratulations to the girls. Okay.

Hearing the latest a Person who is not, you know, living in all the joy right now. According to reports, Floyd Mayweather, this is honestly insane to me. And when I tell people that this is insane, they're always like, well, Floyd Mayweather been going through money issues. This isn't new for him. But I just feel like for Floyd Mayweather to have touched all of the money that he has touched within his career to now be looking at the financial issues that it is reportedly, you know, that are report that are reportedly upon him, I'm like, he, yo, how like I, it's scary to think about like the fact that like you could go from figuring things out to being one of the most successful undefeated boxers in the world, Rich, wealthy, you know, taking care of your family, doing all these things to facing financial issues. Again, all of this is alleged and reported reportedly. But there have been a few stories about, you know, different tax liens, you know, that Floyd is, is facing right now and different things that he's having to do to get those things together. There's been, you know, reports that these last like what, two to three fights, one with Tyson, you know, different, these different fights that we've seen Floyd promoting are because he's also trying to figure out, you know, money there. I know that there's like a Pacquiao fight that's like on the line as well. But more recently, Floyd May the weather is now facing two felony charges alleging theft and intent to the fraud by passing a bad check to purchase a 200000 watch in Vegas. Now this is all according to police records in Las Vegas. Now according to the reports, and I'm going off of the reports from espn, Mayweather wasn't present for a Clark county court hearing on Monday, but he there was counsel there to represent him instead. And the official charges are theft at value of over a hundred thousand dollars or greater and draw or pass check with intent to defraud, a value over $1200 or greater. Now the prosecutor's office over there in Vegas filed the initial criminal complaint back in April, according to the documents and the reports from court. But three days later there was a court order for Floyd Mayweather to appear before a judge and Monday the appearance by his attorney apparently fulfilled that order. So, so just just a bit more details about the incident. So there's a complaint that was obtained by ESPN. This complaint alleges that Floyd Mayweather wrote a 200000 check from a Wells Fargo bank account to golden beyond, which is like a very high end Las Vegas resale boutique. You know jewelry and fine luxury things back in December of 2024. Now, the complaint continues that Floyd wrote the check when he had insufficient money, property, or credit in the account to pay it in full. Now, according to this complaint that was obtained by espn, I have not seen this complaint myself. The receipt for what he was purchasing was an AP, a watch that was purchased on December 25th. So Christmas, right? Now, the theft charge claims that Mayweather wrote the check in exchange for obtaining property or services on it. So in exchange for the watch, while knowing that the check would not be paid when presented. The complaint alleges that Mayweather did this knowingly. So he gave the money to this boutique buying the watch, you know, and he's passing the check in. If anybody. People I don't even know who even writes checks anymore, honestly, in 2026. But if you've ever written a check, you know that, like, the checks don't. It's not like a debit card where, like, they're ringing it up right then and there. And I have to explain that for the people in the back, because there's a whole new generation of people who I'm sure don't even know how writing a check works, because everything is so tapped to pay, Apple pay and debit cards, even sometimes, like, I know, like, sometimes with certain secure purchases or like, big, you know, big purchases, like, they'll even do, like, cashier's checks. Because a cashier's check is like, the money is there, it's guaranteed. But, yeah. So he there alleging he wrote the check, and the court is alleging that he wrote the check knowing that the money would not be paid because there was nothing in the account that they let that they alleged that he was using to write the check. So if found guilty on this fraud charge, he could face anywhere from one to four years in prison and pay up to a $5,000 fine for, you know, pay up to a $5,000 fine and restitution cost. Now, the felony theft carries a prison term of up to 20 years and up to $15,000 in fines. And honestly, when reporters or, like, written reports or even people are reporting, like, in person, when they say that people are always like, oh, my God, y' all are sicing it. That's the extreme. It's because every charge criminally carries up to a certain amount of, like, consequence. And that's what, like, the judges and the sentencing and the, you know, the whole trials are for. Because then they let you know, like, okay, within that range, what are. What are we really looking at here. Like, I don't think that Floyd Mayweather is about to do no dang, 20 years behind bars for the. For this, but that's what it can carry. So there was an attorney present that represented the luxury. That represented the luxury boutique, and they gave statements to some of the press. So they told ESPN that their client filed a complaint back in February. And the reason that there was a delay is that it's Floyd Mayweather, right? Like, and that's another thing, too. Like, when you're. That's what I was saying. Like, a lot of times, like if you're buying big purchases or whatever, debit cards, cashier check, like, people want to guarantee their money, right? But it's Floyd Mayweather and it's Vegas. So I'm sure Floyd has bought from this guy before. The statement goes on to say he trusted Floyd Mayweather was going to give him every opportunity to make good on what they had, you know, arranged by him putting down the check for that payment. But it got to the point where this owner of this boutique is saying that he stopped receiving responses from Floyd and he wasn't getting the money for the watch that Mayweather promised him, you know, according to what he's alleging would give him. That Mayweather promise that he would give him. According to what this boutique owner is alleging. He says that this went on for about a year. So he says, you know, his client didn't want to press charges against Floyd Mayweather because they wanted to resolve the issue. And of course, again, I'm sure that there had to be a relationship there, but he said his client attempted to go through every avenue possible and got ignored. Now, Mayweather or his attorneys have not responded to this whatsoever. Yeah, it ain't looking good. Like, I just. It ain't looking good, but it. I don't know, man. I just. The last time I reported about Floyd Mayweather was when he was going through all those issues with the business manager that he alleged took all that money from him. And then the business manager came out and said that that is not went down, not what went down. And he alleges that, you know, like, he's innocent of all the things that are being claimed by Floyd. And even then, I'm like, man, it's like people always talk about, like, accountants and all these people who take money and it's like you got to have, like, the best people around you, right, and be really paying attention to things. But I'm just thinking about, like, the day to day of like a Floyd Mayweather, right? Like And I'm not even talking about whether he is broke or going through financial issues or what. I'm talking about the whole Floyd Mayweather even potentially getting like millions of dollars stolen from him. Right? The day to day of Floyd Mayweather is like how once you get to a certain point in celebrity, how do you even track the way that the people around you who are hired to take care of your money are taking care of your money. Like I'm assuming you can have bank alerts on your accounts and alerts on, you know, just certain things that you have. But like even the time to watch all of those alerts, it's like you would have to hire somebody to do that. Like God bless Floyd, whatever he is going through, whatever he is dealing with, God bless him because I, something is going on. I'm very interested to see how he will respond to this, if he will, because he hasn't responded to anything outside of the, the story about the manager allegedly stealing or like it was a manager slash like old like business partner that had been working with Floyd for some time. Time. And Floyd alleged that like they built up this relationship and all this trust. And he alleges that because of that this guy was able to steal tons and tons of money from him. Millions and millions of dollars from him. And Floyd Mayweather was actually posting on his Instagram about that. But other than that, everything he's kind of kept in court documents, like you know, the hbo. Not hbo, the Showtime lawsuit that he filed where he says that like, you know, a lot of his like major fights, he wasn't paid correctly and money was stolen and yeah, there's been a lot over this last year. I hope he get it together, whatever he is, because you know who, you know who ain't patient at all and who is on his tail.

Floyd way Mayweather, right? Like, money Mayweather. Like, this is literally like, the catch. The brand is the money. Like, how did you touch all of that money? And now we are ending up in these conversations all these years later. And I know that he's had investments. This episode offers a vibrant look at the power of narrative control in the age of social media—how A-list women like Zendaya and Taylor Swift are reshaping the terms of celebrity privacy, and how even the wealthiest, most successful stars like Floyd Mayweather can find themselves beset by very public financial chaos. The show underscores the value of protecting one’s joy, letting others in on your life on your own terms, and learning from the financial mistakes of those in the limelight.
