This is your daily zig on all things pop culture, entertainment news, and all of the conversations that shake the room, baby. All right, so first things first, y' all know how we do it here on the latest, we check in behind the scenes of the grind, which is a time where we, me for myself and you as the lowriders, get to really take a breather. Breathe in, breathe out, and honestly, just check in on yourself. How are you feeling today in a real way? Now, today I am feeling back at it and I'm feeling productive, which is not surprising. You know, I, I feel like top of the week productive is always a good feeling. But coming off of a week long break and I really took a break like I did no reporting on a lot of things that took place. Diddy being in court for his appeal, a lot of the Gucci man conversation. Outside of what we done we did on the Breakfast Club, I. I didn't do any of that. And my point in doing it was I wanted to experience, like, really just disconnecting so I could come back fresh, no burnout, and just kind of go from there. And so my productive feeling is like a. I feel like people say that they feel productive because they've been able to mark some goals off, but, like, I truly feel productive today. And, you know, yesterday kicking off this week, like, I feel refreshed and energized and actually able to, like, execute fully through, which sometimes is a problem. Like, I think I'm like, a big start and stop person. So I make a lot of to do lists. I have to always. I carry notebooks around with me. I make a lot of to do list because my mind is just all over the place sometimes. So I'll start something, something else will happen. I have to go back to it, and then I don't finish things, and then I'm behind. I'm not executing well, sets in. So, you know, that's normally how I operate. But because I think I've been able to kind of take that break, get that reset, my palette is clear. Okay. My palette is still living off of the Italian vibes, so I'm feeling really productive as we get back into the work week. So, look, we got a lot to talk about, y'. All. I told you, I took a little break. All right, now we back with the jump off. We got a lot to talk about. So let's get on into the latest because there is a new major celebrity being accused of sexual assault. Now, this story, a lot of twists and turns here. It kind of came out of left field. So Coachella went down last weekend. A big conversation out of Coachella was Justin Bieber, because Justin Bieber was performing literally, to some of his old YouTube videos from before he went viral. Now, for some fans, you know, I saw Lizzo and a lot of other people talk about how nostalgic it was and, you know, how exciting and just kind of like that. That almost like, refreshed feeling or connection to your past feeling that you got when you watched Justin Bieber perform in person at Coachella. But other people are like, look, there are reports that Justin Bieber got $10 million to perform at Coachella, that he negotiated it himself. And y' all know that there have been previous reports about him having money issues, him having to sell his catalog because of that, him distancing himself from, like, his team and, you know, a lot of the, like, OG people around him. So he's been doing a lot on his own. Those. I have not confirmed the reports of the amount of money or anything like that, but people are pissed. They're like, for the amount of money that people had to spend to go to Coachella, the amount of money that he was paid, there should have been more on the other side. The fans loved it. One of the people who were there that was seen having an amazing time, she was also caught out with her boo, Justin Trudeau, former prime minister of Canada, was Katy Perry. So there's a video of Katy Perry watching Justin Bieber set, and she comments on the fact that he's using YouTube videos. Let's take a look. I got to see it. All over the world tonight. Hey, little mama. I don't know what about this video triggered Ruby Rose. Okay? Ruby Rose, former Batgirl. She played Batgirl. She was in Orange is the New Black. You guys know Ruby Rose. She got on threads and went off in reaction to this video. She commented to, you know, someone who had posted this video and said, katy Perry sexually assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a what she thinks? Cause fans then begin to ask for more details, right? So she then began to say, she didn't kiss me. She saw me resting on my best friend's lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her dusting vagina. Oh, dusting. I said dusting. I would say, how the heck does a vagina dust? I ain't got no problems over here, y'. All. Disgusting vagina. Rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face. Not to laugh at the allegations, but the fact that I said Dustin was a little funny. Disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her. After I threw up on her, I told the story publicly, but changed it to be funny. A little funny drunk story, because I didn't know how else to handle it. Rose responded to another fan later on as they were asking for more questions and said later she agreed to help me get my US Visa. So I kept it a secret. But I did tell you guys that she was not a good person. Ruby Rose goes on and says, I was only in my early 20s. I'm now 40 years old. It has taken me two decades to say this publicly, though I am very grateful to have made it long enough to Find my voice. It just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me. Now, she also noted that the Ruby Rose noted there was no police report filed when this happened and that she wasn't interested in filing police report about the incident because she says, you don't need people to believe you. You just need to get it out of your poor body before it gives you cancer. Yeah, Katy Perry's reps have responded to this and they're denying all the allegations. So they gave a statement that says the allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, but they are dangerous, reckless lies. Ms. Rose has a well documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against women, various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by these names. So that is where we're left off. You got people arguing about Justin Bieber, the money he got, why he performed old songs, and whether that has something to do with the, you know, ownership and lack thereof of his catalog. And now we're having a conversation about vagina environment.

This is wheezy. WTF from Decisions, decisions. You know, a lot of us grew up not fully trusting the healthcare system. And honestly, the system has given us plenty of reasons to feel that way. But now it's time for us to take control of the conversation, to take control of our sexual health, Learn the facts, ask questions, and advocate for ourselves. That's how we start changing the story. So let's talk. We like to think HIV is something that affects other people, but it is hitting our own community hard. of this is the fact that I didn't even know Coachella was happening this year, y'. All. Like, I thought about that when I. When I saw this headline, and I'm like, there's all this news coming out of Coachella. I didn't even know that it was. I mean, not that I didn't know it was happening this year. I didn't know it was coming up. It, like, randomly just, like, popped up this year. I feel like normally, and I don't know if this is because I was living in LA for so long, but I feel like I always used to, like, know when Coachella was coming up and like, like, you know who the festival headliners were, the performers this year just, like, popped up. And I tuned in because I started to see it on my timeline. Like, you know, I randomly saw the video of Katy Perry and it was like, boom, okay, Justin Bieber's performing. Like, all of this stuff so randomly happened. Now there's these random allegations. I'm going to do some more digging because I want to try and find when Ruby Rose says that she's talked about this before to see how she talked about it before, just because it mentions there. And also look into the other claims that, you know, Katy Perry's team is claiming Ruby Rose made. I haven't personally reached out to any reps here in this situation, but plan to. So I'll keep you guys posted if anything else comes up. But, man, this is only weekend one of Coachella. We are in store for a lot more.

into shifting gears a bit. I know I talked to you guys yesterday about the fact that I went to go see you me in Tuscany on their opening weekend after my first trip to Italy. And the film is set in Italy. It's a black LED rom com shout out to Haley Bailey in reggae, Jean Page and Will Packer and all the team over there for producing it. So some updates because the film did well for its first weekend. So on its opening weekend, which was considered to be April 10th through the 12th, across a little over 3, 000 theaters, the film came in fourth place. So it opened number four at the box office. Now let me tell you guys, right, this film was up against a lot of other major movies in the box office. Literally. So you're like, okay, they came in fourth. Who was number one? So in first place was the new super Mario movie, Super Mario Galaxy movie. Which of course that's this is not even the Mario, the Super Galaxy Mario Movie's first weekend in the box office. This is the second weekend and they still dominated the second weekend. It's reported that by the close of the weekend, they grossed $68.9 million domestically just within that weekend. And this was a 48 drop from last weekend's numbers. Okay. And they still took it home. Second place was the project Hail Mary movie, Ryan Gosling. And in third place was the drama with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson. I did want to go see that movie with Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, but didn't have enough time to do both the day I went to go see you me in Tuscany, but I've been seeing that everywhere as well. But congratulations to you, me and Tuscany. I feel like being number four on a weekend where you have seen such big movies and other big names in the theaters is a big deal. And they made about, you know, not too far off of like, I think it was a little bit over $8 million that they made this first weekend total, you know, that they put out for the movie was a little bit over 18 million. So they're on a great path. Congratulations to them. Make sure y' all go out and see the movie and when y' all do, let me know what y' all think about it. Let me know. This has been another episode of the Latest with Lauren LaRosa. I know you guys were checking in for a lot of the Diddy updates, which I told you guys I took a break from this week. It did not do. But we did talk about it a bit on the Breakfast Club and I will do a more detailed breakdown here on the podcast. So make sure you are subscribed everywhere. You can download it, get all the notifications, whatever you gotta do. Make sure you are going to be the first to know when that episode goes live because I plan to do it this week. Week. I want to answer your questions and help you understand the appeal and where Diddy is and where he may end up. The best I can.
