Charlamagne Tha God
Do it.
Lauren LaRosa
I'm the homegirl that knows a little bit about everything and everybody.
Damon John
You know she don't lie about that, right?
Charlamagne Tha God
Lauren came in hot.
Lauren LaRosa
Hey y', all, what's up? It's Lauren LaRosa. And this is another episode of the Latest with Lauren LaRosa. This is your daily dig on all things pop culture, entertainment news, and all of the conversations that shake the room, baby. Now today, joining us for the first time on the podcast, we have Moka Mendes, Charlamagne Nagaud is here. We are just sitting and discussing the fact That I went on the View for the very first time. Charlamagne invited me on the View with him.
Charlamagne Tha God
I wasn't discussing shit. You asked me to come talk on your podcast about our experience.
Lauren LaRosa
Me and Taylor were discussing it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, I'm sorry.
Lauren LaRosa
Yes. Hi, Taylor, who's editing this episode.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey, Taylor gang. How are you?
Lauren LaRosa
Yes, me and Taylor were discussing it and I had mentioned it. We do something here on the podcast called behind the Scenes of the Grind. It's a daily check in where it makes me sit down and ask myself how I. How am I like, doing for real?
Charlamagne Tha God
Because I really would. I really wish you would act like you've been places before, but you haven't. You've never been to the View. It's your first time. What are you looking at me like that because. What you mean, like what?
Lauren LaRosa
This is what I'm talking about.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I'm just saying it was your first time on the View, Taylor.
Lauren LaRosa
It was my first time. What you talking about? I act like I ain't know how to go, like I ain't been nowhere.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, but I'm just saying you're excited. But you know what, though?
Lauren LaRosa
I'm so excited.
Charlamagne Tha God
All the side. That's what makes. That's what makes me excited. It makes me excited that you're excited about, you know, those opportunities.
Lauren LaRosa
Yes. And also too, my podcast is almost like. Not almost. It's like a. They've been along the ride with me, so I take them everywhere. Especially like in these special episodes like this. So don't ruin it for us.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay?
Lauren LaRosa
Okay.
Charlamagne Tha God
So what do you want from me exactly?
Lauren LaRosa
I want you to talk about, first of all, why did you ask me to go there?
Charlamagne Tha God
Because since I've met you and know you and see your work ethic and see the talent that you possess, I always see you in the daytime talk show space. The daytime talk show space is definitely going to evolve, Right. Like, you see it changing now. Like, you see Kelly Clarkson isn't on anymore, Sherri shepherd isn't on anymore. You know, Wendy Williams been long gone.
Malcolm Glebel
Right.
Charlamagne Tha God
But you see that that whole landscape is changing because it costs a lot to produce a lot of those shows. I think shows like the View will continue to. Like the Talk is one that's no longer around. But I think the shows like the View will continue to thrive because they're alive. Right? They're in the moment.
Lauren LaRosa
They infiltrate, too.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes. And. And they. They infiltrate because they're part of the daily conversation all the time. They're either creating conversation or they're a part of the conversation. And I see you in that space, I just think one day you'll be in that space. Like, you know, even your name. Like, even when Whoopi called you last night and bought you out yesterday, he said, like, the way she said your name. I don't know, she thought you were Spanish or something. She was like, Lauren Lara Rosa.
Lauren LaRosa
Yeah. People be thinking I'm like, Dominican or
Charlamagne Tha God
something, but is this something about that name? It's just because your real name is Boyd, right?
Lauren LaRosa
Like, that's my last name. La Rosa is my real name. It's my middle name.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, okay. Okay.
Lauren LaRosa
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
Lauren Boyd just sounds dumb, but Lauren
Lauren LaRosa
LaRosa, what do you think Lenard sounds like?
Charlamagne Tha God
Lenard.
Lauren LaRosa
Just a little slow.
Charlamagne Tha God
Lenard. But Lauren LaRosa is just. I don't know. It's just something about that name and something about you that I just see you. You're going to be in that daytime talk show space one day. Whatever that daytime talk show space looks like in the future, you're gonna be there. So I just felt like, man, let her get a taste of that now. So you can get a. I told you that yesterday. So you can get a glimpse into what your future looks like.
Lauren LaRosa
So we have the clip of a part of the conversation we had yesterday when you was getting your makeup done, getting your lashes put on, when you
Charlamagne Tha God
was recording me without me knowing is what you're saying.
Lauren LaRosa
You knew. You saw the camera. You look right dead in the camera. I have it on the camera. Yeah. You saw. You literally saw him recording it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Let me hear what I said first. How'd it feel being out there?
Lauren LaRosa
It felt great. It felt. It felt like I'm doing what I'm. You know, it's not like I'm doing what I'm.
Tesla 5G Advertiser
Yeah.
Lauren LaRosa
Like, it didn't feel like, oh, my God, oh, my God, oh, my God. It felt like, girl, what do this?
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, listen, I told you yesterday, though, I said this is glimpsing to your future.
Lauren LaRosa
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
What's crazy, that's what Sunny and Wookie was talking about backstage. Because I was saying how, like, you know, shows like this will last because they're on live every day. They're driving conversation. They're part of the conversation. Will it be scaled down?
Intuit Advertiser
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
But a show like the View can exist in this now and future climate.
Lauren LaRosa
When you say realize you did, you said this. I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. Why do you remind me that all that. All the time, you do it multiple times.
Charlamagne Tha God
Because I know. Imposter syndrome is real. Imposter syndrome is real. And, you know, a lot of times you can be in certain positions and not feel like you're supposed to be there, but the reality is, no, you're right where God wants you to be.
Lauren LaRosa
Did you deal with that, like, when you were coming up?
Charlamagne Tha God
Absolutely. And not only do you deal with it, you ask yourself, like, why does this person want me here with them right now?
Lauren LaRosa
I was doing that all the day before yesterday. Even when I woke up in the morning, I'm like, doesn't even make like I'm going there, but, like, what am I really about to do?
Charlamagne Tha God
But you realize why. You realize why when you're in that moment because you like, oh, this is gonna be me one day. Like, I'm going to, like, I'm going to be, you know, on this panel one day. And I mean, it's not like you've done daytime television before. You did Tamron before.
Lauren LaRosa
Yeah, and I was on daytime tv. TMZ Live is a daytime television. I was about to say, it's so different when you're sitting there with those women who are like, I mean, that's
Charlamagne Tha God
Whoopi and Sunny, Sarah and Alicia.
Lauren LaRosa
So different.
Charlamagne Tha God
Was there yesterday. It's different.
Lauren LaRosa
Whoopi said I had a good face. I don't believe that that means I'm gorgeous.
Charlamagne Tha God
But you know, she wears glasses and like after doing the show for a while, it's like she has to wipe them off every 15 minutes.
Lauren LaRosa
She was looking at me for like she saw me the whole time. So she had glasses over 15 minutes.
Charlamagne Tha God
So she didn't get a chance to wipe them off. Remember we did two back to back segments. One was six minutes, one was three minutes. Then she did a five minute segment before that. She didn't have a chance to wipe her glasses off every 15 minutes. You got to clean her glass.
Lauren LaRosa
Shut up.

If you could tell the low riders that's our podcast community. If you could tell the low riders the low riders because they be riding for me.
Charlamagne Tha God
You want to be Mexican? Why the fuck you want to be Mexican so bad? Low riders? You are not Mexican.
Lauren LaRosa
They be riding for me like they be when people be talking crazy about the podcast and we post our episodes and stuff. They be in them comments getting with the people.
Charlamagne Tha God
No little car emojis in your comments. Y should have like a little emoji or something, right? If y' all the low riders no,
Lauren LaRosa
because I don't want to make it Spanish. No shade to the Spanish riders.
Charlamagne Tha God
But if I could tell them, you
Lauren LaRosa
could tell them anything about understanding that you're exactly where you're supposed to be, what would you tell them?
Charlamagne Tha God
All of them ain't where they supposed to be. I said use where you supposed to be. I don't got no advice to these low riders. Some of them are probably right where they supposed to be. Cuz they ain't been making some dumbass choices.
Lauren LaRosa
All right, well, that's advice.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, yes. Okay. Yes. I think that.
Lauren LaRosa
I think, you know, all 9 million plus people.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think destiny is not a matter of chance. It's a matter of choice. And I think that when you make the right choices, you end up in the right situations. And when you make bad choices, you end up in the wrong situations. And I think that a few years ago, you made a choice, right? Like, and that's what I like when you constantly tell that story, because it's true. You know, when you say things like, you know, you had to step away from TMZ because you just. You don't know what it was. It was just something telling you it's time for you to step away from this situation and, you know, take the first step, even if you didn't see the rest of the staircase. Like, that's God.
Lauren LaRosa
I remember Van telling me, go start your career. He was like, how old are you? And I was like, I think it was I like, 30, 31 at the time. He was like, girl, go start your career. And I was like, in my mind, I'm like, you know how hard I've been working. But now I understand what he's saying because it's like, it's such a. And there's no shade to anything I've done prior to this. But it's just like, it's different right now.
Charlamagne Tha God
But it's all steps.
Lauren LaRosa
Like, you can't.
Charlamagne Tha God
You. You can't disregard any of it. You'll realize that as you get older and you get further along in your career, every single thing played a role. Like, you can't dismiss tmz. You wouldn't have learned how to be a great journalist and a senior news producer. You know, you wouldn't have met people like Van. I'm sure you learned a lot from Harvey. And you know who else did at the time?
Lauren LaRosa
Like Raquel.
Charlamagne Tha God
Raquel. Like, you learned a lot from all of them. You had. You had relationships that you established there. So when you came to, you know, Breakfast Club, you probably wouldn't have got. You wouldn't have got that position at Breakfast Club if you wasn't in that position before. But even being here at Breakfast Club, people knew you when you would make those calls. But now you were able to say, hey, I'm not at TMZ no more. I'm on Breakfast Club. Yeah, all of that. All of it. All of it. All of it. All of it helps. So don't think that any of it was. Was wasted.
Lauren LaRosa
I don't think that any of it was wasted at all. But I do. Like, as levels in. When you go through different processes of your life where new things are happening, you feel it. Like, I think this is the first time in my life where I really feel so much of the change because I'm having to do so much more now. Before and my other jobs, you just go to work and you go home now it's like so much more responsibility on myself and like, the choices I'm making matter more. Like, everything is different.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's the beautiful thing. The beautiful thing is think about where you were three years ago, four years ago. Think about where you are now. Think about the opportunities, think about the money, right? And just say to yourself, yo, I'm really living in the middle of my answered prayer.
Stefano Pallard
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's when you realize, like, God is real and you stop playing around with, you know, your thoughts, right? Cause I always say your, your, your. If your mind can conceive it, you can achieve it. Your thoughts really do become things. Like, people read the Secret by Rhonda Byrne. But the law of attraction is real. Like, your thoughts really, really, truly do become things. So the things you want to happen in your life, you should constantly think about the things you don't want to happen. You gotta dismiss soon as that shit pops up in your brain. And like, you are a testament to that. You're the walking manifestation of manifestation. I think I said that right. Yes.
Lauren LaRosa
Well, you got through it. You said the S's. You're fine.
Charlamagne Tha God
You see what I'm saying?
Malcolm Glebel
Hello? Hello, this is Malcolm Glebel from Smart talks with IBM. Today we're diving into a fascinating context conversation with Stefano Pallard, head of fan development for Scuderia Ferrari hp.
Stefano Pallard
Your pronunciation is. It's strongly American. It's more Scuderia Ferrari.
Malcolm Glebel
I'm still working on rolling my R's, but what I was able to learn from Stefano was the importance of engaging the Tifosi, the Ferrari superfans in the digital age.
Stefano Pallard
Ferrari fans and super fans want to be part of something, want to belong to something. So they want to be part of a community and ultimately they want to be part of a winning team.
Malcolm Glebel
You've got Ferrari, which has a long history, design history, and now you're interacting in a kind of digital space. I'm curious how you balance those two traditions.
Stefano Pallard
When it comes to fan engagement, it's really digital technology and digital channels are being able to create a deeper connection with our fans.
Malcolm Glebel
