State Farm Commercial Voice
It's your time to nominate a donkey of your own.
Charlamagne tha God
Remember now, that is how they choose. Call in now. 800-585-1051. Donkey of the Day for Friday. March 6th is the People's donkey. You know, every Friday, I open up the phone lines and I let y' all give somebody the credit they deserve for being stupid. You can give out the biggest Hee Haw. So good morning. Who's this?
Caller 1
Christian Peace.
Charlamagne tha God
Christian, how are you? Good.
Caller 1
How are you?
Charlamagne tha God
I'm blessed, black, and highly favored. Who you want to get the biggest Hee Haw to?
Caller 1
Uncle Charlotte. I got to give it to you
Charlamagne tha God
what I do now.
Caller 1
I am so tired of you doing Lauren's segment, cutting her off. Talking about your algorithm is crazy. Or nobody heard of that. Sir, are you even on social media like that to know us being discussed in these social media streets? I didn't say leave my distance alone and let her do her thing.
Charlamagne tha God
I didn't say nobody heard it. I said I ain't heard of that. Me, I ain't heard.
Caller 1
Well, we know you ain't heard it. Cause you ain't on social media like that.
Charlamagne tha God
But there's a lot of people who aren't on social media. Ma', am, I know that you think the world revolves around you and your algorithm, but that's not the way the world works. There's people like me out here, and
Caller 1
then you be cutting my girl off and her words be getting all mixed up. Let her do her thing. Sit back and be quiet a little bit.
Charlamagne tha God
She gonna mix them words up regardless, man. Damn. Okay.
AT&T Commercial Voice
Come on, Christian.
Charlamagne tha God
Go harder.
AT&T Commercial Voice
You gotta go harder, Christian.
Charlamagne tha God
Thank you, Christian. I appreciate you, though.
Caller 1
Whatever. Lauren, don't listen to him. Do your thing.
State Farm Commercial Voice
Okay.
Charlamagne tha God
See? Good morning. Who's this?
Caller 1
Good morning. Hey, how you doing?
Charlamagne tha God
I'm blessed, black, and highly favored. How are you? Who you want to get a bigger se. Hard to.
Caller 1
I want to get A big sea to Ms. Ash, who I used to work for, because I left her company and she hasn't paid me in two months.
Charlamagne tha God
Bam. And you need your money.
Caller 1
I'm talking about the struggle. Because she has her own independent company, so I worked for her. And because I didn't, I guess, blow the whistle, I just. I told her I was. Because it was a lady who failed. And I told her if she don't get her hurry up and fix on, I'm gonna tell them that you need to hurry up and get these. Get these folks up out your house. So she let me go. I literally went from making a thousand every week to I had to hurry up and get a job and get back on my feet. When I say the struggle is real, the struggle is real.
Charlamagne tha God
Damn. So why are you giving her a donkey today again? Just because she fired you?
Caller 1
No, I. No, I left. She hasn't paid me. It's been two months now.
Charlamagne tha God
Oh, you left because she hasn't paid you. Okay, okay, I get it. I get it. Okay. All right. Damn. You need to call Top Dog Law. Maybe there's more.
Caller 1
I even called him. But they made me feel so small of a person. They were just like, this is a small case because she only owe me a thousand. Well, a thousand and some change.
Charlamagne tha God
Nah, you need your money. You need your money, bruh. Bruh. Ain't no such thing as small. A thousand dollars is a thousand dollars. Hell, yeah.
Caller 1
It's big to me. But in their world, you know, they make a person feel so small. If you don't have no crash and burn. A whole million dollar case. No, I was just trying to get my livelihood, and I didn't even want to sue her because she was the love. But when I say I. I have to go through the most right now. I went to the Department of Labor. They shut the. They shut the government down. I had to go through that again. And I was like. It was like, they still. You know, at the end of the day, the Department of Labor can't make them pay you. All they can do is tell them
Charlamagne tha God
to pay you, man. Listen, topdoglaw.com, you have been injured, okay? You've been injured in an accident. You should go get your money.
Caller 2
Amen.
Caller 1
I'm gonna call Top Dollars and tell
Charlamagne tha God
them the Breakfast Club sent you. Good morning. Who's this?
Caller 1
Hey, this is Denise.
Charlamagne tha God
Hey, Denise. How are you?
Caller 1
I'm good. How are you? I'm so excited I got through.
Charlamagne tha God
Who you want to get a biggest hee haw to Denise?
Caller 1
Yeah. Hee haw. Man, that goes to a lot of people. Trump these damn liberals who don't like black people. But bravo.
Charlamagne tha God
Now, Denise, I need you to get focused, okay? You have to have somebody you want to give, right? It can go to a lot of people, but who do you want to give it to? Denise?
Caller 1
I definitely, honestly. Drop.
Charlamagne tha God
Okay. Okay. The floor is yours.
Caller 1
Yeah. My son. My son just made the decision to go to the military.
Charlamagne tha God
Oh, Lord.
Caller 1
You know, just. You know, just to be clear, I'm military brat, born and raised in all three of my kids are. So the last thing as a parent, you want to hear is don't let your child go to the military right now. Last thing I want to hear is he's going to do what he's going to do. He's a smart young man. He's going into medical field. I'm happy with that. But it's scary. 100 and this man is 100.
Charlamagne tha God
And then the fact that, you know, you're going to fight for a war that you really don't even know what you're fighting for. You know what I mean?
Caller 1
Exactly. We know what you're fighting for. You're fighting for the land that they want over there, but he can keep on building the way he wants to build. That's what's reality.
Charlamagne tha God
Well, listen, we praying for your son, man. I hope that him or any other troops don't need to be deployed. I don't want to see none of our boots on the ground over there. But we definitely praying for him and all the troops.
Caller 1
Absolutely. Absolutely. Thank you. I love you guys.
Charlamagne tha God
Love you, too. Let's take one more. Good morning. Who's this?
Caller 2
This is Josh from Ohio.
Charlamagne tha God
Josh from Ohio. Who you want to get the biggest he haw to, man, you the last one for the day. Who you want to get the biggest he haw to?
Caller 2
And I want to give it to my gm, man. For months and months, he wasn't listening to us. We did surveys. They even brought HR in there, trying to bring them around to see why the morale was so down because of the surveys. And she just wasn't listening and listening. And after, you know, so many months, they ended up firing her about a week ago because we had the lowest score in our company for morale.
Charlamagne tha God
What was her name?
Caller 2
Tried to tell her her name was Annette, man. That's all I'm gonna give her, Annette.
Charlamagne tha God
So Annette got fired because she wasn't listening to her team, basically.
Caller 2
Basically, yeah. Her whole team. And, you know, it's a good company, and we do good things, but she just was running as crazy. She was working us long hours and we was just letting her know that that's not cool even on the weekend. And after, you know, about two, three surveys and scores me down, they was like, yeah, you got to get up out of here.
Charlamagne tha God
The most important thing that you can do when you're in a leadership position in a company is listen to your team. Like, you can never, you know, you feel so high up or feel so disconnected from your team that all you listen to is the suits. Because the suits gonna steal you wrong every single time. The people on the ground that are actually doing the work can tell you exactly what you need to be doing to keep the ship afloat. Absolutely.
Caller 2
I totally agree, man. That's pretty much what happened. She wasn't listening to us and the numbers was doing good, but she wasn't listening to her team at all.
Charlamagne tha God
Damn. Well, sorry to hear that, Annette. Hope you're doing okay out there. Thank you for calling, brother. All right, listen, that was the people's donkey. We do that every Friday, 1-800-585-1051. You can call up and give somebody the credit they deserve for being stupid, or you can go to the talk Back feature on the iHeartRadio app and leave a message. But don't nobody ever check the message. Oh, my goodness. All right. When we come back, WWE wrestler. I bet you they full right now.
AT&T Commercial Voice
It is full. WWE wrestler Trick Williams will be joining us. We gonna kick it with him next. Don't move.
Charlamagne tha God
It's the Breakfast Club.
AT&T Commercial Voice
Good morning.

7 this is Julian Edelman from Games With Names. I want to take a second to talk about something that's personal to me. I've had the privilege of working closely with Robert Kraft for a long time and one thing I've always respected is how seriously he takes up standing up to hate. That's why this new commercial for the Blue Square Alliance Against Hate that aired during the Big Game really hit home. It's about showing up for someone when they're targeted, even if you don't have the perfect words. And sometimes standing next to someone is enough and you can show support by sharing the Blue Square

Theme: "The People's Donkey" – Listeners issue "Donkey of the Day" awards
This special Friday edition of "The Breakfast Club" features the show's interactive segment, "The People's Donkey." Charlamagne tha God opens the phone lines for listeners to nominate individuals or entities deserving of the show's notorious "Donkey of the Day" recognition—a comedic, sometimes cathartic, title given to those who’ve displayed ignorance or bad behavior. The episode’s tone is conversational, candid, and supportive, with Charlamagne fielding raw stories ranging from workplace injustices to family worries.
[03:11]
Charlamagne reminds listeners:
“Every Friday, I open up the phone lines and I let y’all give somebody the credit they deserve for being stupid. You can give out the biggest Hee Haw.”
Listeners are invited to call in and “give the credit” where it’s due.
[03:31–04:28]
- Complaint:
Christian calls in specifically to give Charlamagne the “biggest Hee Haw,” accusing him of repeatedly interrupting Lauren during her segment and not being in tune with social media trends.
Christian: “I am so tired of you doing Lauren's segment, cutting her off. ... Sir, are you even on social media like that to know what’s being discussed in these social media streets?” (03:39)
Charlamagne defends himself:
“I didn’t say nobody heard it. I said I ain’t heard of that. Me, I ain’t heard.” (03:57)
The caller, with humorous exasperation, tells Charlamagne to “sit back and be quiet a little bit” and support Lauren.
Memorable Exchange:
Charlamagne: “She gonna mix them words up regardless, man. Damn. Okay.” (04:19)
[04:37–06:46]
- Complaint:
Caller shares her struggle after leaving her job with Ms. Ash, who hasn’t paid her for two months despite her hard work.
“I literally went from making a thousand every week to I had to hurry up and get a job and get back on my feet. When I say the struggle is real, the struggle is real.” (05:14)
Charlamagne sympathizes and recommends seeking legal help—specifically name-checking a popular personal injury attorney:
“Bruh. Ain't no such thing as small. A thousand dollars is a thousand dollars. Hell, yeah.” (05:57)
“Topdoglaw.com, you have been injured, okay? You’ve been injured in an accident. You should go get your money.” (06:36)
[06:52–08:25]
- Concern:
Denise, a self-described “military brat,” expresses her emotional conflict over her son’s recent decision to enlist.
“The last thing as a parent, you want to hear is ... your child go to the military right now.” (07:31)
“He’s a smart young man. He’s going into medical field. ... But it’s scary.” (07:44)
Charlamagne voices his concerns about armed conflict:
“The fact that you know, you’re going to fight for a war that you really don’t even know what you’re fighting for. You know what I mean?” (07:55)
Denise reflects:
“We know what you’re fighting for. You’re fighting for the land that they want over there, but he can keep on building the way he wants to build. That’s what's reality.” (08:03)
Charlamagne:
“We praying for your son, man. ... I don’t want to see none of our boots on the ground over there.” (08:12)
[08:28–10:01]
- Story:
Josh nominates his former General Manager, Annette, for Donkey of the Day, citing her refusal to listen to employees’ feedback regarding poor morale, resulting in her dismissal.
“For months and months, he wasn’t listening to us. ... After, you know, so many months, they ended up firing her about a week ago because we had the lowest score in our company for morale.” (08:34)
Charlamagne offers insight on leadership:
“The most important thing that you can do when you’re in a leadership position in a company is listen to your team. ... The people on the ground that are actually doing the work can tell you exactly what you need to be doing to keep the ship afloat.” (09:30)
On Social Media Awareness:
“Ma'am, I know that you think the world revolves around you and your algorithm, but that's not the way the world works.”
– Charlamagne tha God (04:05)
On Unpaid Wages:
“Ain't no such thing as small. A thousand dollars is a thousand dollars. Hell, yeah.”
– Charlamagne tha God (05:57)
On Parental Anxiety and Military Service:
“The last thing as a parent, you want to hear is ... your child go to the military right now.”
– Denise (07:31)
On Leadership:
“The most important thing that you can do when you’re in a leadership position ... is listen to your team. ... The suits gonna steal you wrong every single time.”
– Charlamagne tha God (09:30)
The episode is lighthearted yet honest, with moments of real empathy and practical advice, all delivered in the distinctly humorous, candid voice of Charlamagne and his callers. The show highlights the importance of giving a voice to everyday frustrations—whether it’s workplace mistreatment, personal anxieties, or grievances with public figures.
Listeners are reminded that everyone—from radio hosts to bosses to loved ones—can be called out, but there’s always space for mutual support and understanding.
