How y' all feeling on a Tuesday? I know there's grim news coming out of New York.

All right, let's get into it. So five people are dead, including the gunman, after a shooting at 345 Park Ave. In Midtown Manhattan. It happened around 6:30pm on Monday evening when a man identified as 27 year old Shane Tamura entered a skyscraper with an M4 rifle and began opening fire. Now, he traveled across country from Las Vegas before arriving into New York City. And he does have a history of mental illness. Initially, the NYPD said the shooter had been neutralized, but several sources later indicated that he died of a self inflicted gunshot wound. Now, during a press conference, New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the shooting and said the motive remains unclear. Let's take a listen to those comments.

In part, the building security camera footage.

Shows the shooter enter the lobby, turn right and immediately open fire on an NYPD officer.

He then shoots a woman who took.

Cover behind a pillar and proceeds through the lobby, spraying it with gunfire. According to our law enforcement partners In Las Vegas, Mr. Tamora has a documented mental health history.

His motives are still under investigation and.

We are working to understand why he.

Targeted this particular location.

Horrible, man. You hear stories like that and you want to know the motive immediately, right? Like you want to know his background as well. So you hear he had a mental illness. So then you ask yourself, well, how did he get a gun? We know how. It's America. Guns are easier to get than affordable health care in this country.

Legal gun. I, I read something this morning, actually I heard it on the news on the way in. They said that he said something about complaining about CTE and blamed it on the NFL and they said that the NFL was in that building.

Was he a former NFL player?

Oh no, he was not. He was a high school football player though. So maybe he had big dreams. So Tish went on to say that the gunman's car contained a rifle case with rounds, a loaded revolver, ammunition and magazines. Now, three men, one and one woman were shot and killed after the SUSP sprayed bullets in the lobby and went up to the 33rd floor before shooting himself in the chest. Among those victims was Diderol Islam, an off duty New York police officer who was working security at the skyscraper where the shooting happened. He's a married 36 year old father of two with a third child on the way. Police Commissioner hailed the late officer as a hero. Let's take a listen to his, those. Excuse me, Tish's comments. Officer Islam was married with two young boys. Horrible man. His wife is pregnant with their third child.

He was doing the job that we asked him to do.

He put himself in harm's way.

He made the ultimate sacrifice.

Shot in cold blood. He died as he lived.

Rest in peace to that brother, man, his family. That is horrible. I was looking at that video, doing not the video to steal pictures. How you just walk across the street in New York with a big ass rifle in broad daylight. It feels like it's a police officer on every corner in New York City. No cops were on the corner and saw that happening. Like a guy just walking across the street with this big ass rifle, parked.

His car right in the front and got out and started walking, which is crazy.

That's insane.

So apparently that officer, the officer Islam, he was the first to essentially, you know, see him. And because he saw him walking towards that building and once he entered that building, he engaged with that shooter. So Tish did go on to extend sympathy to the victims and their families. In addition to the NYPD officers who lost a brother, now New York City Mayor Eric Adam he actually opened a press conference talking about that officer who was killed. Let's take a listen and learn more.

He served in the 47th Precinct, was just 36 years old.

Three and a half year veteran of the department. He was doing what he does best and all members of the police department carry out. He was saving lives, he was protecting New Yorkers. He's an immigrant from Bangladesh and he loved this city. And everyone we spoke with stated he was a person of faith.

So photos have emerged of that suspect. Like you see, you said in indicated envy and Charlemagne of him showing, carrying that high powered rifle and going into to that building on Park Avenue. That building as you mentioned as well, is home to the NFL.

So his name is Shane Tomorrow, Right, Shane Tomorrow.

Shane Tamora is the, is the suspect not the.

Yeah, the alleged suspect. Well, we say alleged because you still have to. But yeah, clearly what happened. We know what happened. But he ultimately killed himself, right?

You know, I want to be bothered by that.

We already had school shootings. We have had worse of the worst on so many different levels at so many different times. And nothing, nothing is staking the normalcy that we move forward with. I mean, I hear say, well, why this, that, and the other. But they show them in the state envy. This is America, and you can't listen. The people who write down laws are criminals. So how you gonna have laws when the people who write now laws are criminal?

We'll never have. We'll never be a country of laws where you got criminals writing it. But we got to start right here, one district at a time. I don't know if it comes, they say subconsciously from, like, back in the day when black people used to, like, move out their way and step off the curb and everything. So I just want to say, y' all gotta start shoulder checking people, man. I started realizing white people do not move out your way. A lot of them when you're walking. You know, that's such an interesting theory, because there also was. People would get mad when white people used to cross the street. When black people used to come, they used to feel like that was racism and they were profiling. So if they not crossing the street, then maybe they're not afraid of you anymore. So yesterday, as we discussed in the room, Deion Sanders, Coach prime held a press conference to talk about what has been keeping him away from work, what has been this health battle that he has been on. And he revealed that he actually fought bladder cancer. Let's take a listen to him explaining or his doctor explaining the cancer.

As you guys know, Coach has his other health issues, his vascular stuff. So every year Coach goes for a CT scan of his vascular pattern to make sure, you know, the blood clots are away. With this scan. Everything turned out really great from the vascular side.

[Caller]

About two weeks later, we get a.

Text from his primary care doctor that, that said, we need to refer you guys to a urologist. They go in for a quick procedure and the doctor told us, okay, you.

[Caller]

Guys are going to need another procedure.

[Charlamagne tha God]

I'm going to refer you to my colleague, Dr. Kirkraja. But at this point you have a bladder tumor. From there we'll go get it removed.

[DJ Envy]

And then Dr. Kirkraja it was. So we proceeded with removal of the bladder tumor. Very high grade, invading through the bladder wall, not into the muscle layer. Something we call very high risk non muscle invasive bladder cancer.

Electricity elected to undergo a bladder removal.

We performed a full robot assisted laparoscopic.

Bladder removal and creation of a new bladder. And I am pleased to report that.

The results from the surgery are that.

He is cured from the cancer.

I definitely was googling bladder cancer all day yesterday. Gotta add that to the list of potential health elements you got to get checked for.

Absolutely, yeah. Now the insane thing about this. Well, first of all, I just want to say, and they said this in a press conference yesterday when I heard the word cured, I'm like, people don't understand how rare it is for a doctor to say you are cured from cancer because a lot of times if you're fighting cancer, it doesn't cure cure, you just can like manage it and subside it. So that is a huge.

Well, they removed, they removed it so that way it couldn't grow.

But even then, sometimes like if things are removed and like things aren't caught in your blood. So there's so many nuances to cancer that like cured is a very strong word to say when you talk about cancer. And the doctor said it yesterday in the press conference because the type of cancer that he's dealing with, like the Numbers aren't for you in, in this situation. But he talked about. Because, you know, obviously the next question is, it's like, what is his life like now? Because you hear bladder cancer, you obviously think about how do you live day to day. So he talked about what his life is like right now. Let's take a listen to him on depends.

So I get up and go to the bathroom already four or five times a night, but then I'm sitting up there waking up, you know, like my grandson. We. We're in the same thing. You know, we're in the same.

We got the same problem right now.

We going through the same trial tribulations.

We kind of see who.

Who has the heaviest bag at the.

So he got. I know he said you got to wear the pins, but you got to walk around with the bag, too.

So at one point, he was walking around with bags. I'm not for sure if that's something he's going to actually have to do every single day. But, yes, there are bags that he uses and in the vlog, because right after this press conference ended, his son, who, you know, had. They had their media channel, his son put up the first vlog of us seeing him go through the surgery. And you see the bags. There's two bags. One was, like, really filled with blood. And, like, it's very graphic in the video, but you can see the full process now.

Is that for life or it does it. Because I also heard that they're gonna use one of intestines to reformulate a bladder or something like that.

They recreated a bladder for him.

I didn't know they could do that. That.

I didn't know that they could do that either. But it seems like this hospital that he was at was, like, very, like, advanced. Yeah, like, they use robotic, like a robotic surgery of some sort to even do the surgery that he did. But it seems like their goal is to make it where, like, he can be able to, like, have a normal life. But he does need some assistance, which is where he's talking about the depends.

I love that he was in, like, good speed, seems to be in good spirits and, you know, laughing and playing you know, a lot of people get down and just. Yes. But I, I love the attitude he has about his disposition. Just like up.

Yes. It was very Coach Prime. It was very Deion Sanders. Like, it was like, it was crazy because you're talking about cancer and cancer. When people hear it, you feel like it's a death sentence. And he got emotional at some points, but he kept it very like, my faith, my spirit, like, I'm here, I'm a vessel. Let's actually listen to him. There was a moment where he got emotional. Press conference. I wanted you guys to hear. Let's take a listen.

The press conference yesterday, he said D.C. young Fly actually called him and prayed with him, but there's been a lot of people. We had a full list of names. Desean Jackson ones on the list. There were so many names that he mentioned of people who just, like, reached out and poured love to him, even though he was trying to, like, you know, he didn't want everybody knowing what was going on. He said he was 180 pounds soaking wet. @ a certain point, he didn't want people to see him, but people made sure they got to him to pour love into him.

So in international news, President Trump says he's reducing Russia's deadline to reach A ceasefire with Ukraine. He made those comments yesterday in Scotland. Let's take a listen.

I'm going to make a new deadline.

Of about 10, 10 or 12 days from today. There's no reason to wait. It's 50 days. I want to be generous, but we just don't see any progress being made.

[Morgan]

The president initially had a 50 day deadline for Ukraine and more so Russia and saying that he also had discussions with Putin. But too many people are dying in that war and Putin has got to make a deal. In additional remarks, Trump somewhat spoke on the Jeffrey Epstein file, saying he wants to focus on other issues, calling the controversy a hoax. No, he questioned, he questioned why the Biden administration didn't release the files during his administration, you know, under the Biden administration and denies going to Epstein's hideaway island. Let's take a listen to Trump on the Epstein files.

Those files were run by these people.

They were run by my enemy.

[Charlamagne tha God]

If there was anything in there, they would have used them for the election. I never had the privilege of going to his island and I did turn it down, but a lot of people in Palm beach were invited to his island. In one of my very good moments, I turned it down. I didn't want to go to his island. I think, you know, I think the reason the Biden administration didn't put it out because they know that it would be mutually assured destruction. Right. Because clearly there's, there's powerful political figures from both sides on there, plus their allies and corporate donors and et cetera, et cetera. But it's very important to note that the main people that want these files out are Trump supporters. This is a conspiracy that Trump's administration puts. And his supporters are the ones that want these files out. They're the ones that want the transparency. I don't know why he keeps trying to blame this on Democrats.

Clock that tea. All right, so Trump says he banned Epstein from his Mar a Lago resort years ago. And he again denied a report by the Wall street saying that he sent a birthday card or greeting to Epstein that included a drawing of a nude woman. Let's take a listen to Trump's explanation on that.

I'm not a drawing person. I don't do drawings of women. That I can tell you they say there's a drawing of a woman and I don't do drawings of women.

So the Trump administration has faced, of course, pressure from both sides of the aisle after a memo from the FBI and Justice Department said an Epstein client list does not exist.

[Charlamagne tha God]

You know, it's interesting too, because it's, it's just funny how the news works because Bill Clinton, you know, wrote a letter to, you know, Jeffrey Epstein as well for his birthday, but nobody's talking about that. And Jeffrey Epstein had a picture of Bill Clinton in the dress in high heels, you know, you know, in, in his New York mansion, but nobody's talking about that. My thing is this. I don't care who's on the list. Everybody gotta go burn it all down. Yeah. Like that's just simple as that. Mutually assured destruction. Whoever's on that list need to go. Nobody needs to be protecting pedophiles. I don't care what party they are.

No period. And you know, to that point, though, you know, Clinton is not the president right now. You know, if he was, you think that anyways? Yeah, I think he would still be under scrutiny if he was the president right now.

No, he wouldn't, because liberal media wouldn't push the issue.

Well, this comes as, speaking of liberal media, this comes as Trump's legal team is seeking to expedite deposition of Rupert Murdoch and his lawsuit with media MOCA and defaming him in the Wall Street Journal article. Now, according to the final filing, Murdoch opposes the request, while the President's lawyers cited Murdoch's age as a chief argument to push for early testimony. Now, Trump's $10 billion lawsuit stems from the Journal's reporting on that birthday letter to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Now, lawyers for the president are also seeking any documents exchanged between Murdoch and other defendants in the case, as well as messages and logs from his call from July 10th through July 25th. And switching gears back to New York. But also there are other states involved. 20 Democratic state, 2020 Democrat led states, including New York, New Jersey, California and Connecticut are suing the Trump administration over its efforts to gather sensitive information about food stamp recipients. Now, Attorney generals, including New York's Letitia James, said the U.S. department of Agriculture is illegally trying to get Data on the 42 million people who receive SNAP benefits, including Social Security numbers, birth dates and immigration status. Let's take a listen to New York AG Letitia James. This administration is attempting to use this.

Program as a tool in their cruel and chaotic targeting of immigrants. It is outrageous.

It is unacceptable.

They are basically trying to weaponize the.

SNAP program against immigrant communities in violation of the law.

So California Attorney General Rob Bonta also weighed in. Let's take a listen to his comments.

People who apply for SNAP benefits have.

To provide sensitive and private information about themselves and others in their households. SNAP is a lifeline for over 5 million Californians. It helps working families, seniors, children and people in crisis put food on the table.

So states have been giving a July 30 deadline to comply or face losing federal funding regarding SNAP. Now the legal dispute over SNAP data arises as the Trump administration again continues to collect and links government data for immigration enforcement.

I just don't understand why they are so hell bent on cutting things that actually help people. It's just mind boggling to me. Like, I just don't understand why you gotta go out of your way to cut people's those SNAP benefits. That is literally how some people just, you know, can, can keep food on their table. Yeah, yeah. And it's the same thing when, you know, I'm an ambassador for the food bank in New York City. Like when you see organizations like that getting their funding cut. Those are the people who go out there and help. You know, the, the least of us, the less fortunate. Like, why would you ever get in the way of that?

I guess TI Dubbed me the king of crowd work. I'm an entrepreneur. I own the biggest black owned comedy club in the country.

In Tacoma, Washington, I'm a guy that got it out the mud from the very bottom and scraped my way up to a Netflix special that was in the top 10 and peaked at number three and did extremely well for the platform. And there's a lot coming. There's TV shows, there's movies, and so I'm excited. That's who I am. I'm your excited, huggable gangster cousin.

One of the people that probably don't, you know, might have thought you came out of nowhere. Like, you got the Super Funny comedy club in 2021, right?

[Caller]

Yeah. Well, basically we were building it, and then the news was saying that Covid was coming.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Was coming.

[Caller]

Okay, which is, which is. Which is it's hard enough to build a place, let alone watch the news and be like, I don't think it's gonna come over. I don't think it's gone. If you remember, Seattle is where it first touched down. The United States.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[Caller]

As soon as it was like, I think it was Everett, Washington or something, it was like two hours north. I was like, oh, this is a wrap.

[Charlamagne tha God]

So that might have been a blessing. Then a few you. Some PPP loans.

[Caller]

No, because you had to be open for like a year to get eid. Yeah, we had. We had no help.

[Charlamagne tha God]

You couldn't lie like everybody else, man.

[Caller]

I tried. I tried to create. I was a. I was. I have an auto detail business. I have. I have a dog grooming business. I clean shoes. I was coming up with everything. All of them were like, nothing was working. So, no, we just fought on our own. We just fought it, you know what I'm saying? And. And survived. And so we were at the first location for five years. Now we're at a brand new location downtown on the Marriott block from Tacoma, you know, but it's. It's. That's it. Like, this is. This is it for my city. We're in the most peak spot, best location it could be. And now it's like we're thriving like crazy.

[Charlamagne tha God]

But you're a veteran, though. You've been doing comedy for, like, 20, 26 years.

[Caller]

20. Somewhere between 23 and 24.

[DJ Envy]

Yeah, yeah, for sure. I've been. I've been. That's what I'm saying. I've been at it for a. You know what? We. We've met before, and. And it's worth me talking about for a second. Charlemagne. So I was working with Jesse Collins Entertainment as a crowd warmup, and they did this show, Hip Hop Hollywood Squares.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Oh, yeah, I remember that.

[Caller]

Yeah. And Jess was the square, and D.C. was the square, and other, like, cast members from Wilding out and stuff were squares.

[Charlamagne tha God]

That's when D Ray was hosting it.

[Caller]

Yeah.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Okay.

[Caller]

And I really wanted to be in a square. Like, when sound stage would be empty, I'd be sitting in a square and, like, to the point where they, like, over headsets, like, that was like Nate Jackson out of the square. Like, just total rejection. Yeah. Like, this is for stars. They put me out the chair. So we were on a break in between two segments, and I was so upset. This day, man, you have one of them days where you, like, man, all this. Yeah, that's what I was on. Song and Tip was like, in the top left square. And I had. Me. We had met before, and he told me to put. He was like, play. You wanted me to play Juvenile. You see that? 98 degrees.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Yeah.

[Caller]

So I played that.

[Charlamagne tha God]

I remember the day now you talking about.

[Caller]

Yeah. And so he was up there. You were either on the bottom one or the left one, but you were right there, and you were like, yo, you're killing it. I was like, excuse me.

Me.

And you were like, dog, I. With, like, the. I can't remember exactly what you said, but you're like, I with, like, you know, the crowd work guys with the little guy. Because I was the little guy, man. I came up under Wendy and I grinded. I got it out the mud. So when I see y', all, I watch. I was like, you don't even know what that did for me that day.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Wow.

[Caller]

On Mamas. And I'm just telling you the little things like that. I was like, you know what? Let me just play my role. Let me do my. And let me just. You know what I'm saying? But that. That. That was heavy that day.

[Charlamagne tha God]

I remember that day because when 400 degrees came on, all of us. That's from the south started rapping it, like. Right. Everybody didn't talk rap like that was a great day.

[Caller]

See the 98 Mercedes on TV?

[Charlamagne tha God]

I bought that.

[Caller]

And I looked up in all nine squares is rock. I was like, okay.

[Charlamagne tha God]

And I remember you doing the crowd work, but I remember you being a little bit bigger.

[Caller]

Okay. I remember you being bigger, too. Don't eat Breakfast Club because we're trying to lose weight. Yeah, man, I went. I went fruit and veggie raw at the. On May 1st, and I lost 38.5 pounds. So I'm just, like, melting. And so now I'm like, trying to introduce, you know, some white meats back and whatever, just because I was like, man, there's too much chicken going by. Everybody like, yeah, yeah, we eat, but you not. So I basically just eat around the outside of the grocery store and stay out the middle. And so I've just been melting away.

So was it a scare or you just wanted to get healthier or. The reason why?

[Caller]

I want to see where my connect to my body.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Okay.

[Caller]

That makes sense. Yeah. I have a joke about it. I'm like, I can see the first seven inches, but that first five, I can't see that part. That's a joke. But, no, I just wanted to lose some weight, man. I had. We lost, Teddy Ray. We lost.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Now you're laughing at that. Now I'm laughing. I'm still having jokes.

[Caller]

Yeah, he did the math too, anyway.

But you know what? I noticed in your special, you talk about it a lot. Got your weight and eating, and you got a lot of food jokes or whatever.

Yeah, I did, like four minutes of the. Just break the ice.

And then they're like, that's what we're.

Gonna take for the. For the national clip. That's gonna be your trailer. I'm like, oh, okay. So now. Okay, what about all the other stuff I said?

But how does it impact now? Because now you, you know, you lost. Lost a lot of weight, and I'm guessing you're still coming down, right? So how does that affect your comedy now? Like, you still doing the food jokes?

[Caller]

You can. I mean, it was not.

[Charlamagne tha God]

I don't have. Have.

[Caller]

I had food jokes, but it was more about weight loss jokes and temptation, and you could have that at any weight. You know what I'm saying? Like, it was. It was crafted where I was like, I think I'm losing weight, but I can still get these jokes off.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Yeah.

[Caller]

I mean, but at the end of the day, I write a lot, and that's what. That's what that's what the crowd work is. You're writing on the spot, so just switch it up.

[Just Hilarious]

Is there anything that you stay away from? Like, you know, because I feel like the world is so sensitive now. Like, you say one thing, oh, we're gonna cancel you. Is there anything that you stay away from or you'd be like it?

[Caller]

I kind of am with everything. But I will. I will tread lightly around, you know, some politics stuff because it's. They just been so. It's so magnetized, you know, At a point people are like, I don't even care what you're talking about no more. Because he's not. He's obviously not. And I'm like, man, just chill out. I want everybody to laugh first.

That's why it's called super funny. I wasn't. That's the theme of the show. Love. Love hard. Eat good and laugh. Laugh to your fullest. So that's the thing. That's what it is.

I was gonna say, do you think people miss the funnier things because they want to cancel you? They are looking for something to be hurt or affected by. Cause I remember one time you just laughed. It wasn't. It could be a black joke, a white joke, a gay joke, a straight joke. It didn't matter if it was funny. It was funny. But now I feel like people look for something to be like, I'm gonna cancel you off that word right there, you know?

Yeah.

Depending on the word, but. Yeah.

Or the term or the joke.

I think it depends on how you saying it.

Like, what I can stand the least is when a comic takes the time to qu. Craft a beautiful joke. And I mean, a beautiful joke where it, like, meanders and then you get hit with the punchline and then you still be like. But the topic was da, da, da. Hey, man, chill out. That's a good ass joke.

Yeah.

Also, I think we're shifting back some, and I don't want to say it on a platform so big that people are like, oh, you think we won't cancel you too? I don't need that smoke. But I'm just saying, I think there's been a shift since, I don't know, maybe 20, 19, 2020, definitely. You know what I'm saying? And. And so there's been some pushback. People like Schultz and people like Chappelle that are like, I'm all that. That comedy first. Then we'll talk about what's next.

I had a joke about a Vietnamese car dealer. And I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm from Tacoma, Washington, and we kicking with the Vietnamese, Cambodians, Samoans, black people. We all. Everyone's all. We all mix. And so when you go gamble, the dealer gonna be Vietnamese. And they were teaching me words. And so I started picking up on the dialect to be like that and stuff like that. So I had this joke that means you. And so I picked up on that. They say that a lot. And I just started hearing it, not knowing what it was. I'm like, why y' all keep saying. And they're like, oh, yeah. I mean, you. I'm like, what the. So I wrote a joke about how I had found out, but I put it after I hit a jackpot pot. So basically she was calling me B, which was my interpretation of her saying it in my face. And I didn't know. So I slowly reveal that they've been being racist to me. And then I get her some. Get back the dealer. And I. I say, she acts black. So she. I said, well, okay, you act black then. And she's like, I don't know my father. I'm like, that's not what the.

[Charlamagne tha God]

I was listening for an accent. Stop it, stop it, stop it now.

[Lauren LaRosa]

She about to come in, like.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Triggered her.

[Caller]

I'm so sorry, man.

[Charlamagne tha God]

One of. I was watching one of your specials before, one of your crowd work specials, man. There was a fat dude in the crowd, the fat dude named Big Mac that do security. I don't know if you remember, but the dude was like. He said something to you and you was like, don't get mad at me. I'm not the one who fed you.

[Caller]

Hey. Make you bite all that. People be in the comments like PAC calling the kettle black. I'm like, nah, that's a little plac on a big ass kettle black. But the point of the Vietnamese joke was that same joke, JFL was like, we can't have you up here because you saying that joke. Well, I'm like, did you listen to it?

Right?

So I just got back from that. I came straight from Montreal here. Oh, I have my own show. I had like, I. I did variety top 10. Yes, I got that this year. But. But it brings it full circle to be like, they showed me so much love. I was like, you know what? I'm not gonna be bitter. I can't.

You shouldn't.

Now if I just came out, like, Vietnamese sound crazy, and I just start cussing, like, I'm like, that. That is.

You know what I'm saying? But not. And that's my pet peeve. Like, if somebody. If you can. You can hear the intellect in the joke and the setup and be like, oh, that was a good misdirection to hear that. Like, nah. It's like how some older black people. Like, I didn't even have fun because he cussed 14 times. He's sitting there counting.

Exactly, man. That's a show. Yes. Listen, give people the story. So you went from you doing the warm up, warming up the crowd at the hip hop squares, but I know you ended up on Wild. And now, like, how did all of those stuff. Things happen?

[Caller]

Oh, my goodness. That's not my start. My start. I just got dared to do comedy while I was in college and I went on stage and I was like, oh, this was kind of good. And so I stuck with it. And then I moved immediately to la and I was there for like, six years. And then I was like, I need to go home and stack some bread. So I started, like, 12 shows, and then I combined it into one show, and it was like the biggest show. It was like Thursday night was like 420 people for like, eight years. It was massive. And in Seattle. In Tacoma. Yeah, downtown Tacoma. And if it's really like 80 people every Thursday, in case the IRS is listening. So it was like. It was hella. But then I stacked and came back, and so then different opportunities started to kind of come together. And so I had an opportunity to work with Jesse Collins Entertainment. And that's how I did the crowd work. And I think it was just a plug from D Ray.

[Charlamagne tha God]

Okay.

[Caller]

Because, you know, I do Monday nights at the Improv, and D Ray looks out. Shout out to D Ray.

[Charlamagne tha God]

And.

[Caller]

And so that's how I got into that. But the way Hollywood, man, you'll have a day where you're like, yo, I made it. You'll be standing on a table, fist pumping the air between Tony Rock and Chris Rock, like. You know what I'm saying? Like, what? It would feel like a million bucks. And then the next day you're like, damn, I gotta perform in this dungeon. Yeah, it's not. It's not. It's up. But you gotta do it all. And so you know that that's essentially.

Why I was where I was.

[Caller]

I was like, man, I just can't get a damn. I got Wild N Out. Bet I do four episodes. Niall says I look old. I'm like, corey Holcomb is here. No shade. No shade. But I'm just saying, don't say I look old. No, he. Yeah, like, I waited to get on the show for six years. Yeah, I look old now. Give me a part of my hair.

And then every game was rapping. I'm like, we can't just do no oc.

But like, so my mama getting older and she has an office downstairs at our house in Lacey, Washington, and she got to go down these steps to go down in this cold ass basement and turn on an area heater to get on Netflix or to get on any streaming platform. But Netflix, Netflix came on their old ass smart tv, which is dumb now, but that was the one. I was like, it's a smart tv. Netflix built in so she'll watch Netflix and from the comfort of the couch, fireplace and all that. So for me, I was like, this is how my mama gonna see me and be comfortable.

Oh, wow. Wow.

So you pair it with all the other stuff you know about Netflix and it kind of makes sense, but if they're not gonna give me a deal, it's like, I gotta go to wherever.

And then the crowd work joints that I was putting out, where I'm putting out once a month or whatever. I, like, somebody sent me and was like, yo, Gary got these things he's doing once a month now. And I was like, well, stop laughing.

Yeah. This makes so much sense because I was listening to the Gary's pod, like last week, and I was wondering why he was just going in on people who do crowd work. He was like, people who do crowd work are lazy and they don't really know how to write.

Because here's why. Here's why it's made up. Because if you do crowd work, or attempt to do crowd work. And you have good moments, and you string them together. You already know you're using traditional standup structure, but you're plugging the information you got off the people into that. So we're writing live and on the spot. And I think that what's overlooked is. Is the phenomena of why people are like, why crowd work? Because you're in the crowd and you're hearing the response. Your brain is processing the same information, and you're like, what would I say? What was he gonna say? And every time the person you like that does, it finds an angle every, like. So if I got to start with whatever, like, I would have been. I would have went on stage and be like, y' all see Coldplay? Y' all see the dude get caught? Like, I can talk about that at a crowd work joint. And now it's like, who in here cheat? Now we got some segues to get through, you know, Mean. But, like, it's almost a gift when you get something, you're like, oh, okay, let's cook with this, right? And I like to find a few so that I can do callbacks and have it all come together in jail together. So at the end, you're like, that was. That wasn't just. That was an experience. That wasn't just a couple of moments.

Now, according to Polestar, which is a publication that, you know, centers in like concert news, they credited the tour with. With making the 400 million dollar mark as well. And then they're the ones who put the mark on it that no other country tour has ever ach. Amount of money.

Now the 32. The 32 shows is a big deal because this also put her tour in a place where she was one of the fastest or smallest tours to be able to gross this amount of money. So like, for example, she did four nights in Atlanta, five in la, five in New York, six shows in London. London's in London. And if they say that it's rare for artists to do so many shows in a single stadium on a single tour with. But with the more dates, it equaled more tickets and it was. She was able to gross more money. So really smart of her. So congratulations to Beyonce.

I know, I know. I had to read it a couple of times myself before I got it. Confusing, isn't it? Let's go to KOCO ABC News 5 for the report.

911 calls flooding into the Edmond Police Department Tuesday afternoon. Police say 21 year old Micah Hill.

Was in his girlfriend's car and she.

Was inside when her husband came up to the car window.

Hill told police it scared him because.

They'Ve met before and the husband allegedly had spit in his face and threatened.

Him in the past. Hill said out of fear he grabbed.

His girlfriend's gun, loaded it and got.

Out of the car. Documents say Hill told police the husband walked around the car and asked Hill if he was hurting his children. Hill says his answer was no. He claims the husband then lunged toward him.

So he shot him twice.

I heard two shots in the parking lot.

Seconds later walked in and was yelling help.

I need help. He shot me. He shot me. I know.

They hit the panic alarm at the front desk as well.

Documents say Hill admitted the husband was not visibly armed, but told police he quote, couldn't do anything unless I shot.

Him because he can't quot out fight him. Well, at least he was in front of a plasma center, so there was some doctors there to help after he got shot. So many teachable moments in this story if you're willing to learn something. But let's discuss number one. I'm not dying or killing for nobody else's wife. Okay? Michael, you 21 and you were smashing this man's wife. I don't know what the situation is between the Husband and wife. Maybe they separated. I have no idea. But whatever was going on between them was none of your business business. And that woman had you, Micah, doing too much. Okay, see, you wasn't keeping it, player. You said you met this woman's husband. Husband before, and he spit in your face. Okay? Drop one of clues bombs for the husband. All right? You deserve that spit to be in your face, because why are you meeting the husband? Okay? This woman put you in a position you had no business being in. If they separated and you smashing, I get it. But keep it like. Like that, okay? If she wants to bring you around her kids and a strange husband, you got to say no. Okay? Now, maybe y' all just creeping, and the husband know y' all creeping, so he couldn't believe the audacity of you coming around him, playing in his face. Oh, you think he's sweet, huh? Oh, you think he's a cat doll? Okay. Saliva to the face, I understand. Then this man thought you was hurting his kids. I don't know where he got that from, but he asked the question for a reason. Once again, why are you even around this man's kids? For him to eat? Even have to think to ask you that question. You 21. Only thing you supposed to be giving this man's wife is hard D and bubblegum. I don't even know the whole story, but based off the information I've gotten from this story, that man had every right to whip your ass. And that leads me to my second point and the reason you getting donkey of the day. Can we play the last part of that news report? Just the last part? This part. Some call us the forgotten generation because people tend to focus on baby boomers and millennials. Some call us the latchkey generation due to the high number of us who were left home unsupervised growing up. But that's what made us independent. That's what gave us resilience. That's what made us be able to adapt to things around us. This also made us us mind our goddamn business, okay? Being Generation X made a lot of us keep to ourselves and not meddle in other people's affairs. And if we did, we knew that there were consequences. And repercussions to our actions. Okay? The problem I have with Generation Z is y' all don't think y' all gotta get punched in the face, okay? Y' all don't think you have to deal with the consequences of your actions. If you're gonna sleep with that man's wife, then you have to deal with what comes with that. You said your son, you can out fight this man. So if you know that, then you don't need to be sleeping with his wife. And if you do, you need to be very, very, very, very discreet. You need to be super duper on the low, not in this man's face, so he can spit in it, okay? You don't even own a pistol. That's why you had to use your girlfriend's pistol to shoot her husband. How crazy does that sound? Okay, you had to use your girlfriend's pistol to shoot her husband. Real quick, can I talk about this whore for a second? Okay? I wish I had this whore's name, all right? You mean to tell me you running around here with this 21 year old year old, sleeping with him, got him around my kids, and he shoots me with your gun? How do you even explain that to. And then people, he wants to see how many people will react. People got their headphones on. And this is actually in New York City and people got their headphones on. People see it, they keep walking. They on the phone, they don't care. They, they still just walking, minding their business. It was one, one white woman who saw it, ran right after him in the alley, come out and you see him showing her the camera. Like, okay, now this is just an experiment because she was upset.

All right, guys, so this was just filed moments ago. So it's breaking right now. Diddy. Diddy's legal team has submitted a request to the judge asking for bail again for Diddy. You guys remember he was denied bail while awaiting his sentence sentencing, which is going to happen on October 3rd. Because the judge said that Diddy was a danger to the community because of all the violence and just his disregard for the law that they felt like went down now. So here's what they're saying really quick. They're saying that. And they have this new bail package that the judge could consider because of three things. Most people convicted of the same charges. The two men at counts that Diddy are convicted of are let go, but prior to their sentencing. And they provide a bunch of case law that shows you other instances where people in Diddy's position have been able to be released while they await the sentencing. One of the things that they point out is that he was not. They claim that Diddy was not a direct customer of the Axe. So. So they're saying even though there were these escorts and all these things happened, Diddy himself did not have sex with the men that were hired to come and have spend time with his girlfriends. It was just a part of the lifestyle that they did. But his girlfriends at the time, Jane and Cassie, were the only people who benefited from the services. So he shouldn't be a person that is behind bars.

So he paid for the escort service, not the sex. They're trying to say.

Yeah, but they're also just saying, too. It's. It's rare that you see in any of the cases that they provided a person who has. Who hasn't benefited from this whole ring that you're alleging be behind bars, especially while awaiting sentencing. So they're trying to make that point and comparing it to other cases. They also mentioned that logic don't make.

No sense, though, because if I buy a kilo of cocaine, it don't matter what I do with it. I still bought the kilo of cocaine. I don't have to sell it. I don't have to use it, but I bought it.

But I guess he tried to say, is he. He bought the prostitute.

They also claim that views on sex have changed because the men act is so old. It's 115 years old. It was created back in 1910. So because of the way the views on sex have changed, maybe things like the semen on the nipples should not be considered. And who benefited, by the way?

I do think Diddy. I do think Diddy should have a bond. I thought he should have had a bond a long time ago. I'm just simply saying that argument.

Well, the third reason that they mentioned on here is that, well, we talked about this. They're just backing up the claims that Diddy did not have sex with the minute he hired his girlfriends did. So, yeah, this was literally just file. I'll actually be doing a deeper dive into this on the latest with Lauren Rose of the podcast, because I've got this walking in the room, but wanted to let you guys know that this was going down. And we kind of predicted this when we talked about the prosecutor being fired. Remember we mentioned, like, maybe at this point now his team will try again, because the prosecutor at the time, who was comey, the lead prosecutor, was like, he don't need to come home. And they did everything they could to convince the judge, but it's the judge.

It's not the prosecutor.

But I do think that there. There's going to be some conversation around how things were positioned to the judge based on how the prosecutors presented their case.

The judge is probably gonna say he's still not taking accountability for what he was found guilty for, potentially. That's what the judge is gonna say. The judges say they're still trying to do workarounds. At some point, you're gonna have to show some type of accountability if you looking for leniency from the judge.

Yeah. Especially because the judge was very direct in saying, you know, it's not just how the prosecutors feel and what they think should happen, but he directly pointed out some of the things that happened while Diddy was awaiting to turn himself in at the hotel here in New York with things being set up in the room and all those things. So we'll have to kind of wait to see.

Yeah, but is he Looking for leniency or is he looking for the law? Right, because the law, they haven't had any case where anybody has hired a property prostitute and has been in jail without a bond for over a year because that's what he's found guilty of, hiring a prostitute and carrying more state lines. And anybody that has had that for their first time offense has all gotten a bond, has not done this much time. So the judge can say that, but it's supposed to be what's fair in.

On page two of the document, when they talk about the exceptional reasons why he should be released. Because remember they mentioned the only reason he would get a bond in this situation if it was exceptional is that that they say in the history of the man act statute, in the history of the man act, there has never.

There has never been facts presented this way to incarcerate any other person. So basically, like we don't, we've never seen this from the cases that they're providing. They don't see it. But what will happen is, is the other side will go and try and find more cases to go back at what they tried.

I do, man. I want to talk to you all about passion. You know, I love Wayne W. Dyer. And I was out last night. I was out at, I took my daughter to go see Gracie Abrams at Madison Square Garden. And it's always interesting to watch, you know, artists because, you know, my, my daughter's a Gracie Abrams fan. So I saw her when she was at Radio City and then I've seen her grow to, you know, now be at the Garden selling, selling out two shows in a row. And it just made me think about passion, right? Like you got to be passionate about something and life. And passion is a feeling that tells you this is the right thing to do. Nothing can stand in my way. It doesn't matter what anyone else says.
