And we went to this event yesterday in Baltimore down at the convention center. Yo, it was just amazing, right? So shout out to 53 Families Foundation. That's former Raven Super bowl champion Jamil McLain and his wife. They have a foundation. They partnered with Salvation army and the Ravens organization to feed 8,000 people. Yo, like their families, right? And they had. It was just amazing. We walked in. The convention center is biggest ish in Baltimore. We walked in and the outcome was wild. It was everybody in Ravens jerseys. They provided the Ravens jerseys for all the kids and the parents. And everybody was dancing. They had a DJ shout out to DJ Q to Q 92 Q's. Persia Nicole was there. The radio station was out there. Everybody was there and it was just dope. I went up and I spoke on behalf of my foundation. It was amazing. And then we went to Governor Westmore's. I don't know what to call it. A campaign kickoff dinner. I'm not sure. But it was a lot of elected officials running for re election, right? Yes, yes, Running for re election. And he announced that last night And I just. I thought it was just amazing that Mola foundation was invited to that as well. I met so many people, and so many people love y'. All. So I was told to tell everybody to keep doing what y' all doing. They love y'. All. They hear y'. All. And we don't even play in Baltimore. We don't even play on the station in Baltimore. But the iHeartRadio app in YouTube, in the podcast, listen, the. The director of BWI Airport, she. Ms. Griffin. She loves y'. All. Ms. Griffin. It was just. It was great. You said she's grifted. No, I said Ms. Griffin. Angelique Griffin. Ms. Griffin. Yes, yes, yes. So very important people in the house. Salute to Baltimore, Maryland, everybody out there. I'm actually going to the Baltimore Convention Center, I think this week or next week. Okay. Yeah. So we might be doing a car show in the DMV area over in that, so we. Hopefully we can get that going. But, yeah, I'm glad you had a good time, man. And it is the season to. To. To give back. Even though this. This government shutdown is. Is they're saying that they voted back up, that doesn't mean people are going to get their SNAP benefits right away. And I'm sure Mimi will be breaking that down in front page news. Also, we got Joseph Socorro, Isaac Keys, and Chris D. Lofton joining us to cast our book for Force. You know, Power Is. That's our new stories. You know, growing up, our parents and grandparents stories, the Days of Our Lives, and, you know, Guiding Light and Bold and Beautiful, all the Tyler Perry stuff in the power universe. That's our new stories. That's right. Yeah. So we're gonna be kicking it with them in a little bit. And then we got front page news. So don't go any. Get your ass up. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Charlemagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get into the front page news now. Last night, Monday Night Football, the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Packers 10 to 7. That was. Did y' all watch the game or not? Did you see a game? Hell, no, I was not. Even the first half of the game. You seen the first half of the game knocked out, bro. It's pretty good. It was a good defensive game, man. So salute to the Philadelphia Eagles. Also, the New York Giants have fired their coach, Brian Dabal. On, Damn, man. Salute to Brian, man. Yeah, I salute him. Now that he not a Giant coach. There you go. N. Salute to Brian. What's up? Mimi? Good morning, Envy. Jaman. How y' all doing this morning? Peace, Mimi. Hey, girl. Morning. All right. Well, we start this morning in Washington, where after 41 days, the Senate has approved a deal to finally reopen the government. The last step before it heads to the House for a vote. And now the plan would keep most agencies funded through January 30th and extend programs like SNAP, food assistance and veteran services through next September. It restores back pay for federal workers, protects jobs that were at risk, and ensures food aid continues through 2026. But it leaves out a major Democratic priority, extending those health care subsidies that helps millions of families afford insurance instead. Republicans agreed to hold a separate vote on that issue by mid December, which progressives say does not go far enough. Some groups are now calling for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to step down, accusing him of failing to keep Democrats united. After eight, eight Democrats crossed party lines to help Republicans pass that bill. Hakeem Jeffries, he is addressing the media. He addressed the media shortly after that vote, saying that this fight should not be about partisan politics. Let's listen. This fight for us is not partisan. It's a patriotic fight. We're waging this fight on behalf of the American people. The five states that are most impacted by a failure to extend the Affordable Care act tax credits are West Virginia, Wyoming, Alaska, Mississippi, and Tennessee. 45% of the people. Of the Americans who are going to lose health care or be at risk of losing health care if they don't on the other side of the aisle, extend the Affordable Care act tax credits. 45% of them are registered Republicans, 35% registered Democrats, and 20% unaffiliated or independent. This is not a partisan fight for us. It's a patriotic fight. Now all eyes turn to the House, where Speaker Mike Johnson is urging members to return to Washington. He says he's confident that the measure will pass, but has stopped short of promising that the House will take up that separate health care vote Democrats were promised in the Senate. Let's listen to that exchange. So you're not committing to bringing up a bill that deals with the Obamacare subsidies before they expire? I'm not committing to it or not committing to it. If something passes the Senate, it would only pass on a bipartisan basis. Would you bring it up? I can't commit to anything that hasn't even passed through the Senate yet. I mean, I've never done that. I'm very consistent. I've been speaker for over two years. So that is the latest with that, and as you were mentioning earlier, envy those SNAP benefits. There's still some more ongoing litigation with that. So the Trump administration, they returned to the Supreme Court yesterday asking the justices to step in and keep those full payments frozen while the government remain shut down. This comes after the lower courts ruled that the administration must resume those full benefits for 42 million Americans who rely on the program. The Supreme Court could rule on that as early as today, but for now, the rulings have created a confusing patchwork, with families in some states like Hawaii and New Jersey receiving their full benefits, while others in, like Nebraska and West Virginia have received nothing at all. Am I the only person who, who thinks folks are being too hard on Democrats with this one? You know, I mean, Democrats finally did something they normally don't do, which is fight. And I really wish Democrats would just be honest and let people know, like, look, we tried. You saw us try. Like we threw a Hail Mary on behalf of the American people, even though we know MAGA had zero reason to make any concessions to us. We did what we could, but we have zero power and we couldn't get it done. And yes, we understand people are going to lose healthcare or at risk of losing healthcare. We know healthcare premiums are going to go up, but there was nothing else we could do. And they're really damned if they do, damned if they don't in this situation. Because if you don't reopen the government now, you got people not getting SNAP benefits, federal workers not getting paid, like they, they really had no other option, if you ask me. Yeah, I think people are upset that they gave up. I think for once they wanted Democrats to stay in the fight. They felt like coming after coming off of that election last week that they had momentum and then they just basically gave it away. But at what expense? That's the, that's the thing. Yeah, but that's the other thing. At what expense? At the expense of the federal workers. At the expense of, of people not getting paid. But, you know, it's like what they were saying yesterday, putting sick children against hungry children. Right, right. But it's also incredible to me the belief and the faith that people still have in MAGA to do the right thing. MAGA does not care. Like, they have zero reason to make any concessions to Democrats on this situation. They don't care. I don't think MAGA has ever made a concession. I think they do what they want to do, and it is what it is. Either you, you, you roll with them or you get rolled over. That's what it's always been. It's just incredible to me, belief and the faith that people still have in Republicans. I just don't have any faith in them to do the right thing ever. Yeah. And really quickly, Donald Trump. He has issued a new round of pardons, this time for several allies that help overturn the 2020 election. The list includes about 77 people. Some names you might know, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, who was a former Trump attorney, and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows. But those pardons will wipe away any federal charges or potential investigations connected to their roles in trying to keep Trump in power after his 2020 laws. I wonder how many people who like what president pardoned the most. People. It had to be Donald Trump, right? It just has to be. Right. It seems like he just pardons everybody, but he's pardoning the wrong people. January 6th. I was gonna say not everybody, but I just feel. I just feel like he just usually they pardon at the end of the presidency, right before they leave, they pardon. He just pardons people like it's Tuesday and I'm just gonna pardon people. That's all right. Well, actually, it says Franklin D. Roosevelt, but 3,000, 687 pardons of clemencies. Damn. From 1933 to 1945. All right, well, that is front page news. Thank you, Mimi. Uh huh. Everybody else, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, phone lines are wide open. Again, 800-585-1051 is the breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club. This is your time to get it off your chest, whether you're Mad or blessed. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club. Hey, guys. Hey. Hey. Good morning. Good morning. It's Auntie Kim. What's up, Auntie Kim? Get it off your chest. How you doing? Hey, girl, how you doing? Hey, Envy, Come on. How you doing? Charlamagne. Peace. Peace. Peace. I really didn't think they should have. I know both sides. I just swear I wish they had not given up that fight. I know, I know, but it's just Chuck Schumer gotta go. A lot of them gotta go, though. A lot of them just have to go because a lot of those states that were suffering, those are red seats. And I'm gonna answer your question, Charlemagne. How some of the maggots still believe what they believe. My husband was channel surfing yesterday and I was walking by the TV and I heard the TV say, yeah, because The Democrats did the shutdown. I did Democrat because I didn't know what channel it was. I said Democrats. I said, they lying. So he said, oh, I was just going past Fox News. So just for me to hear that walking by the TV, can you imagine sitting there 24 hours a day, seven days a week, listening to that line? Well, I'll say this, but I agree Chuck Schuman needs to go. But when I was talking about people's belief in faith, in Republicans, I'm not even talking about their supporters. I'm talking about people on the other side of the aisle. The people that think that, you know, that Republicans would make any concessions to Democrats during this shutdown. I'm talking about them. I'm like, how do y' all believe in it? The ones that cross over? Yeah, the ones that cross over. But they all need to go. That's why I'm so glad. These young people running for office, running for dog catcher. Running for something. Running for dog catcher. I mean, really, Charlamagne, at this point, we all need to try to be on some school board, something, because we get ran over. And you remember when we were going to school, we had cousins, aunties, whatever, the school board, our friends. Mama was absolutely. We knew these people. We don't know these people. And we letting people just tell our kids anything in school. We don't go to the school. You know that you do. You don't know now that you can't just pop up in the class. Yep. You gotta make an appointment. Yeah, well, I gotta make an appointment to sit in my grandson class. Hey, that is true. That is true, though, growing up, because like my whole life, I knew Wendell Gilliard just because. That's right. But you know. You know what, dad? They do that for safety too, though, because like the other day, I had to go to my kids. I had to go to parent teacher and for parent teacher, even though they see me every day, we ain't shooting up no school. I know every day they still make. They still took my driver's license. They stuff like. But you see me every day. I do love that. It's what it is, too. You know what it is? Also, they want to make sure their teachers are up in front and center knowing that you coming too. Because a lot of times we believe these teachers. Like when we were coming up, everything the teachers say was the truth. Oh. I mean, yeah. You can't say that about these teachers and principals now because you don't know them. But it's also different. Like, my mother was My mother is a public school teacher in South Carolina. You know, she used to teach at Courtney and she teached in Berkeley county. And then my grandmother was a lunch lady. And like even like I said, Wendell Gilliard is. He's like 70 something years old now, but he was just a politician that I knew my whole life in South Carolina. Like I say, my sister used to braid his hair. Absolutely. But like that. That's the point you're making. We knew these people. Are you right? We got to get back. We think that we got so much skeletons in our closet, man, we ain't gotta. We can see now that we ain't got nothing compared to these people. Oh, you're right. You're absolutely right. We need to run for something. We. We need to kick our schools back. And I gotta go. But you know Steve Perry. Yeah, I know Steve Perry, man. I love this, man. You hear me? I just wanted to move all of my children here one time. This the man I watch. This the man I mimic. And this the man I try to every day make sure my kids get this kind of education. Absolutely. Thank you, Auntie Kim. Thank you so much. Salute to Steve, man. Dr. Steve Perry hit me up yesterday, actually. Salute to Steve. Get it off your chest. I gotta go. I gotta go. Like we don't like. Yeah, like we don't gotta go. That's Charleston for you. Salute to the 843. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051 is the Breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club. It's a new day. This is your time to get it off your chest. Wait. Wake up. Whether you're mad or blessed, it's time to get up and get something. Call up now. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club. Hello? Who's this? Hey, man. Hey, what's up, Envy? What's up, Travis, girl? How you. I'm doing good. Doing good, Jeff. I keep meaning to tell you when I call up here, congratulations on being a first time author. No, I definitely hope that you become a New York Times bestseller. You know, people wish that and speak that over your life. Speak that into existence. Go pre order it right now, wherever you buy books. Yep. So definitely. But I'll buy it and I'll get out. I'll give it to my brother if he got like seven kids. You ever tried to get pregnant, Trav? What? Oh, my. That's a wild excuse to want to get in. Tr. It's just get me pregnant, get me pregnant. That's crazy. Speaking of that being a song, I'm calling because y' all know I write music and I'm going to shoot my shot. Maybe, you know, she might be listening. I know Glorilla is in album mode, and I really want to work with Gorilla on her album. And having so much music for a woman in my catalog, I don't think I noticed. I almost could have made Cardi's album. Put a Glorilla pack together. I'll send it to her. I'll send it to a trap. But that's good. Don't just breeze by that. You could have almost made Cardi's album. That's dope. Yeah. Shout out to Big Mila. She helped me out, but, you know, it's just like kind of a last minute thing, and unfortunately, I just didn't get to do it. But I'm trying to work. I'm trying to work on Gloria's things. I'm definitely gonna put that together. Sorry. Yeah, I'll send it to her. I appreciate that. Thank y'. All. All right, Trav. All right, babe. Bye. Hello? Who's this? What's up, brother Street? What's happening? Take us on Bluetooth, man. We used to have a good time at the Nightlife at the Nightlife in King street back in the day. I remember you. Yes, sir. I want to say to you, my brother. I love you, Charlemagne. And our next question before I get to it, are you going to be down Saturday, right, on the 22nd? The 22nd. I'm having my 12th annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway. But we doing turkey and all the fixings, everything. Candy, yams, and macaroni and cheese, all of that stuff on November 20th. I appreciate you, man, because you was doing that for quite some time. And I'm an OG and I'm an activist as well. But what my call is, man, I just hate to see a powerful brother like you and Roller Martin, you know, have y' all different opinion the way that it came out, because we all can have a different opinion, but the stronger brothers shouldn't hear. I wish that our target would be on the White House, not against one another. Because at the end of the day, I know for a fact you and Roland Martin are on the same page for success for our black people. You know, I don't like to see y', all, you know, put y' all opinion out openly like that, but it is what it is. You know, I. I have nothing else to say about Roland Martin. I said what I needed to say. God bless that brother and right. I salute the platform he's built. Yeah. And I like that. Like I said, I just love to see my brother, someone like you, who do what you do. I know what you do. I see what you do. You're from the Carolina. And I've visited, not met before, quite some time. But I'm 66, so, you know, I'm way older than you. And like I said, roll over, start too far behind me. I just hope that the energy gets utilized somewhere else. But it is what it is. But before I get off, I got three, four brothers, man, that's doing the right thing. And I love to give young black brothers doing the right thing a shout out. Like, please. From Camden, South Carolina, DJ Bo and Sean from Florence, South Carolina. Y' all keep doing what y' all doing. God bless you. Y' all continue what y' all doing, brothers. Thank you, King. Appreciate you, man. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. Now we got the latest with Lauren coming up. Good morning. We do. So yesterday we talked to Justin Combs, Diddy's son, and we got. Who is we? Me. We as in the show. I ain't talk to her. Whenever I talk to somebody, we don't say no names. You just supposed to say a source is close. That's not true. That's some. She always say, we all right. It's all fun again. So somebody said until somebody run up on you talking about, you gave me donkey of the day. Like, what? It wasn't me. You don't think people get mad at us for what you be seeing up here? Yeah, I hope not. What? I be in places all the time. Aunties be running down on me crazy because of you all the time. First of all, aunties love me. They be upset with you sometimes, especially the ones that work in airports. They're very vocal about you. Really? Yes. I swear. I talk to them all the time about you and the stuff you say, and they mean well. They just want you to get it together. But a lot of them be loving him, though. They do. A lot of them, it be coming from a place of love, but they be like, tell him stop this. And why he say that? But yes. So we got some things to get straight. It's an exclusive. We're gonna have some conversation about Diddy and some of the things in the news. All right, we'll get to that. Next. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast. Breakfast Club. Lauren becoming a straight F. She gets them from somebody that knows somebody Some details. I'm the home girl that knows a little bit about everything. She be having the latest on the Latest with Lauren LaRosa. Sometimes she have facts, sometimes she have details. Sometimes she have a little bit of everything. Oh, it's the latest on the Breakfast Club. LL Cool, baby. Good morning. All right, y', all. So we have some things to talk about. So yesterday, we were able to speak to Justin Combs, who is the son of Diddy Sean Combs. And we have some things to clear up. So, first of all, we talked about that alcohol story, right? And I had already told you guys that Diddy's rep said that that was not true whatsoever. But yesterday I found out, of course, they, you know, tripled down on the fact that that story was a lie they alleged. But they. They say the back this up that Diddy is in a program currently where they check him out, like, checking with him every day. Like, they're testing him every day for substance abuse. So there's no way that he could have been under any influence drinking that hooch. Yes. They said he's in the RDAP drug program. And they said if he was found with any liquor or anything around that he would not be able to be in that program. So that tells you that. That he is being monitored and that he is in the RDAP program. Drug program. He also said he's very focused and committed to coming home and being a changed person. So he wouldn't play with that because he is. He wants to see his daughters, he wants to see his sons. He wants to see his family. So he is not playing. How does it turn to the ladies with envy. Because, you know, I gotta utilize my resources. I'll be calling you too. Oh, okay. All right. Yeah. I'm not saying you're supposed to give her the information. Envy. He not supposed to report it to her. I don't mind. Okay. I spoke to him for a long period of time. Thank you. You spoke to Diddy? No, Justin. Justin. Oh, yes. And then. So there was a photo yesterday that was released. It was Diddy's intake photo when he got to Fort Dix. And the conversation. That just sounds crazy. Change the name of that jail. Damn it. Okay. So hard you say, we know. Oh, my God. Well, it was his intake photo when he got to the place where he is currently. And the story that CBS News did. They. They broke the story with the photo was that he is working in a chapel in the library. And you remember there was a report that he was doing laundry. We were told yesterday that. That was not. That's not true. He's not doing laundry. He is working in the chapel. And according to cbs, this is a very highly, like, cov. Job and washing no drawers at Fort Dix. I refuse. Give me another job. But that's what they said. They said that the rumor was he was washing drawers. He's not washing drawers. He's actually in the chapel. He's working in the chapel library. And he also has the program Free. Free Game with Diddy. Yes. Which is that program where he's teaching them, like, business 101 and like, you know, entrepreneurship and just different things that he was doing before he got to this location as well, too. Now, another thing, those conversations about Trump in the pardon. There was a story that broke two weeks ago that said that did is all good. Walking around smiling because he's telling other inmates at the location he's at that Diddy is going to pardon him. And Diddy Trump is going to pardon him early 2026, we were told. That is completely not true. He hasn't had any conversations about any of that. And then also, yeah, like, Envy said that he's super focused on coming home. Like, he just wants to get out of there. Like, he is not doing anything to damage or to push any of the time back. Like, that is his focus right now. So they just wanted to clear up some things. Be. Where do people be getting the stories from, though? Like, how they just keep. That's what they said. Where do people. They said that's not really a headline, though. Man in jail wants to come home. Yeah, sure bet. Yeah. You got to do all the other stuff. He said the headlines that you see on TMZ are all false. He said none of that's real. He didn't have. He was never with no liquor. He said he's focused on being home. He said he works at the chapel, not washing anybody's underwear. He said that the pardon situation. He said that's false because he doesn't even. They don't even speak to any other inmates, so that wouldn't even be a story. So he said a lot of this stuff is just made up to make him look even worse than what's happening because he said none of it's true and it's all bs. He said he just wants. He just focused on getting home. Yeah. And just. They also said that he'd be hearing all the jokes, too. He gets it. He said he understands that he has everything. Yeah, I don't even be saying nothing. I just looked at You. Because you're in front of me, Jess. Who be making jokes? Charlemagne. You. Yeah, that one liner yesterday, that was a good one with the. Take that. Take that. I don't know what you're talking about. Okay. Well, in other news. So Beyonce and Ms. Tina Knowles were outside over these last few days. Now, they've been a couple places, and it's kind of funny. So first they went to Kris Jenner's 70th birthday party. Now this 70th birthday party superstar studded. All the biggest names that you can imagine in Hollywood were there, but it was reported that Jay Z and Beyonce were there, but you didn't see any photos of them. And the report was, you know, they did what Jay Z and Beyonce do. Cameras couldn't catch them. Ms. Tina Knowles uploaded a photo. So first she posted a photo of. Of her, Beyonce and Kris Jenner, and she then reposted the same photo. But that's crazy. I thought that was Kim. That's crazy. No, this is Chris. Then she. No, she looks so much like her daughter. Yes. Yes. Did she repo. Missina knows. Reposted the same photo. But like, she had the white background or white lines around it. So, you know, you can't make a photo fit on Instagram. So she said that. Put it in a border. Yeah, she put the border around. And she said, I posted this earlier but didn't know how to make it fit ig. So I had someone to fit it in so you could see the whole picture. I'm 71. Give me a break. So they look. They look gorgeous. But of course, now people have photos of Beyonce at the party. And Beyonce was trying to be low at the party, right? Trying to be low. And because of her mother, please believe that. It was so cute that Beyonce said, mom, you could post this picture, you know. Of course. Yeah. And also she should have asked. Blue, Blue, can you. The NBA season's rolling and DraftKings newest game, Pick Six, is the easiest way to play for your shot at big win. All I know is what I've been told and that's a half truth is A whole lie. For almost a decade, the murder of an 18 year old girl from a small town in Graves County, Kentucky went unsolved until a local homemaker, a journalist and a handful of girls came forward with a story. I'm telling you, we know Quincy killed her. We know a story that law enforcement used to convict six people and that got the citizen investigator on national tv. Through sheer persistence and nerve, this Kentucky housewife helped give justice to Jessica Curran. My name is Maggie Freeling. I'm a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist producer and I wouldn't be here if the truth were that easy to find. I did not know her and I did not kill her or rape or burn or any of that other stuff that y' all said. They literally made me say that I took a match and struck and threw it on her. They made me say that I poured gas on her from Lava. For good. This is Graves County, a show about just how far our legal system will go in order to find someone to blame. America, y' all better wake the hell up. Bad things happens to good people and small towns. Imagine looking so fly and wanting to be low. God damn right. You know, but huh. What day was this? I believe it was Sunday. Saturday or Sunday, it was a regular Sunday outfit. No, this was her party. I do not know. 70th birthday party still though, just imagine getting this fly, but still wanting to be low. Don't even want no pictures of You. I think that's fire. That's fire. Yeah. Yeah. So, but, but Ms. Tina do say like, like she be getting in trouble with Beyonce when she post certain things or when she like clap back or whatever. She. She said she do be getting in trouble. I remember that she said that. That's why I thought it was so funny. Didn't tell her to post it. She probably just was like, my baby look cute and I'mma post it. Yeah. And it's 70. Yes. And it was a James Bond themed birthday party. This is either an some great anti aging cream or she drinking kids blood cuz this. Or great doctors. Oh my God. She just. Damn. She's in Hollywood. No, she didn't. No, no, no. She just got a fresh face clip and she. And she let them document meant the whole thing. Like her doctor been posting about her now she just said that's like grocery shopping to the Kardashians with the tire how they do it. No stupid envy. You petty somebody. They stay at the doctor. Like, yeah, like what? First of all, envy. You went too. So you. You know, I didn't got a nose job. I did not get a nose job. Don't start the. I did not get a nose job. I removed the polyps out. My nose had nothing to do with shift. It didn't get thin. And that is not true. You look way different now than in them old pictures. I be seeing people post some party flyers. I be like, who was that? Tell them again. Well, the last place that they were At Beyonce and Ms. Tina Knowles, they went to support Kelly at the Boy is Mine tour. They went, wow. Yeah. Ms. Tina Knowles posted two separate nights, but Beyonce in one of the photos has on a backstage pass right around her neck. You know when you go backstage and you gotta wear the pass so people can make sure you get. And the world is going crazy because they're like, Beyonce, girl. Like, why do you have on this pass? Like you don't even. I told her to wear it because she had to wear it backstage. I. But that's funny. Beyonce and backstage pass. I done told y' all a million times. Beyonce is the person that walks in the room and introduces herself to everybody. She's like, hi, I'm Beyonce. So she is not above wearing a backstage pass. Yes. Somebody gave her that and said, hey, you need to wear this backstage. She probably not. Whoever gave her that is foul. Like why she needed a backstage pass. I would, I would have did it just to talk to her. I said, hey, hey, where you going? What you where you going? Who are you? Who you with? And by the way, I need my job. And what if they're not taking no chances right now? I'mma do my job. What if they Mexican? I'm not giving y' all no reason, no excuses. For real. Y' all don't never want people to do their job. And that's the problem. Drop on the clues bombs for everybody out there doing their job. Man, you think they put a wristband over too? Maybe put this wristband my job. Cuz when my supervisor comes to me and says why didn't you put give her back to his path. Why you didn't give her. It don't matter. I gotta do my job. There's a lot of other stars that were there though like over the weekend in la. Like Rihanna was there. Queen Latifah Mar Br. Like they didn't come on pass. They took him off with a picture. They took him off for the picture. They took them passes off with a picture. That's all it was. That's security serious you. I don't care who you are. Drop on the clues bomb for that Mexican security. I know it was Mexican too. Jesus Christ. All right, that is the latest with Lauren. Now when we come back, we got front page news. So don't move us to Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning everybody. It's DJ Envy. Jess. Hilarious Charlemagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get back at some front page news. Now the Eagles beat the packers last night in Monday Night Football 10 to 7. And the Giants have fired their coach, their head coach, after blowing another double digit lead in the fourth quarter. I'd be wondering is it fair to fire the coach man, when the players suck though, you know what I'm saying? Like you, you should fire a coach when you know that a coach got like great players on the field. But when you up, he not getting the best out of it. But when you up in the fourth quarter for four games and you lose four games and you're up double digits. Cause the players suck. They if they. They wouldn't suck if they were up for in the fourth quarter by double digit leagues. Like the games are good. Like we. We're busting ass until that fourth quarter. I could care less. You don't know anything. Talking about the players suck. So y' all players don't suck? Some of them. Okay, what you mean some of them? Some of them. Jackson D look all right though. Well, he's injured. Oh, all right. Well he looked like when he was playing. Yeah. Russell Wilson starting next week. Oh, Lord. Seven interceptions. Yo, shut up, Ben. Mimi, help me. What's up? Seven interceptions by the third quarter. Leave me alone. Come on, Mimi. Oh, goodness. Okay, y'. All. Well, good morning, Jeff, Charlemagne, Envy, how y' all doing this morning? Good morning. All right, so we start this hour with the latest at the airport. So even with the Senate deal to reach that shutdown, that news, the FAA still hasn't lifted its nationwide restrictions, meaning travelers are still facing the same headaches at the airport with no real relief in sight just yet. Yet, starting this morning, the FAA is cutting flights across the country by 6%. And those reductions will keep climbing throughout the week, reaching 8% on Thursday and 10% by Friday morning. Now, the FAA, they began scaling back flights last Friday at 40 of the nation's busiest airports because of the ongoing shortage with air traffic controllers. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says the FAA won't let lift the order until safety data shows that it's appropriate, but adds that the skies remain safe to fly. He says that the cuts are about managing traffic, not about grounding planes. Meanwhile, President Trump is weighing in on the air traffic controller shortage. On social media, he's blasting air traffic controllers who've called out sick saying he's not happy and he is threatening to dock their pay. He's also promised those who stayed on the job are great. He's calling them great patriots and promising $10,000 bonus once the shutdown ends. Critics are pointing out that these are the same controllers who've been working day to day, showing up without a paycheck. And the union says that they've been working six days a week, 10 hour shifts. We've been, we've been talking about this. They've been guiding planes across the country while struggling to pay their own bills. Passengers, they are also feeling the, the fallout. This weekend alone, there were more than 4,500 cancellations, 18,000 delays. Let's listen to some of the frustration that the passengers are feeling, feeling this thing is affecting, you know, citizens, and it probably shouldn't be affecting everybody like this. Guess what I have to do. I'm going to U Haul and I'm going to drive a truck cross country to get back to Utah because I have to be back by Tuesday. It's frustrating. Everybody should just get along. Let's figure it out. These air traffic controllers, my safety is in their hands. It's unbelievable and it's embarrassing for our country. We've been here since 4 this morning. But the thing is, there's no flight to Syracuse So we're going to Raleigh, North Carolina, then we're going to Buffalo, then someone has to pick us up. That's crazy. Jesus, man. Yeah, somebody said it right. It's definitely embarrassing for this country. So a lot of different array of feelings there. People renting cars, driving U Hauls, whatever they can get. Because there's a shortage on rental cars. So if you can get a U Haul, people are just doing whatever they can to get to where they need to be. Yeah, you know, all the situation, Mimi shows me is how much people don't understand the working class, you know, especially when it comes to the federal workers. Like 67% of this country lives paycheck to paycheck. And you want these people to come to work when they thinking about how they gonna keep the lights on, Literally. Like, do you know how many people I know who have had to get other jobs? Temp services, driving Uber Lyft, taking out loans from the bank. Folks really have no idea what the working class goes through. Exactly. And especially with President Trump getting on social media, Come on, man. Telling the. Yeah, the workers they need to get to work. You know, you have no idea what their day to day looks like. Child care, you know, household bills, whatever they need to do. So. And that's the other thing, too. The child care piece is very important because some of these people have had to take off of work because they can't afford child care at the moment because they're not getting a paycheck. So they got to make sure the kids get to school or stay home with the kids. It's all. It's nuts, man. Yeah, absolutely. And today is Veterans Day, a time to honor our men and women who serve our country. But this year, the celebration looks, looks and feels very different. That's because of the ongoing government shutdown. Hundreds of thousands of active duty service members could miss their next paycheck. The administration has found temporary fixes twice since October, but those funds have now run out, leaving many military families uncertain about how they'll cover their bills, their rent, their groceries this week. So the shutdown has also forced the cancellation of parades, ceremonies, and community events that usually honor veterans. Veterans organizers say they simply didn't have the access to military bases, restrooms, or staffing to make those events happen. Also, if you're wondering about what's open and what's closed today, most restaurants, grocery stores, retail shops will stay open, but banks and post offices are closed today since they fall under the Federal Reserve. Online baking and ATM services will still work, though. Transactions could take an extra day to process. UPS will run pickup and delivery services. FedEx is also operating normally. And in New York, though, the nation's largest federal. The nation's largest Veterans Day parade is still happening, with more than 20,000 service members marching up Fifth Avenue to mark the 250th anniversary of the US military. Listen, man. Salute to all the veterans. Salute to my pops. Pops, what's up? I love you. I say it all the time. I think it's disgusting how America treats its veterans. Okay. If you have fought for this country, country. You should get free housing, free health care, and a stipend every month. Okay, America, why can't we do the basics? I'm a simple man. Take care of the people who take care of us. Veterans have taken care of us. We need to take care of them. How hard is it to take care of our veterans? Okay. It shouldn't. It shouldn't be that hard. It shouldn't be hard at all. Like, there's nothing worse than me. You want to get me? Pull out a sign that says, I'm a veteran and I fought in the war. I don't know how people can just walk by folks like that or just drive by folks like that and not give them whatever you got in their pocket, man. That's the least we can do because our veterans get treated like. Like garbage in this country. Absolutely. Shout out to my dad, who was also a veteran, too. Yes. Yeah. All right. And many families, as we stay on this, this topic of the shutdown, many families are still waiting on paychecks, but they're turning to new ways to make ends meet. So Buy Now, Pay later has exploded during the government shutdown. Many people are calling it Credit Card 2.0. So apps like Karna, Afterplay, affirm they are seeing a major surge as families use them not just for extras, but for essentials like groceries, gas, and even utility bills. Now, with so many federal workers and families still waiting on paychecks, these apps have become a lifeline to get through another week. So instead of paying all at once, these apps let shoppers split purchases into four smaller payments and spread it out over a few weeks, usually with no interest at first. Families stretched thin, it can feel like a lifeline. But consumer experts, they are warning that this easy money can turn into a debt trap. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau says late payments are rising fast, and more Americans are juggling multiple Buy now, pay later plans at once. So many of the households, though, they are already filling the squeeze, including those federal workers who've gone more than without a paycheck check. But financial experts say this is, this is part of a larger problem where Americans are borrowing for the future to just survive the present. Total household debt right now is about $18.6 trillion for easy payments. Might sound like a quick fix, but it could hit harder once those bills come due. So, yeah, I mean, that's how it used to be back in the day, especially in close knit communities. Like if you had somebody in the hood who owned like a little convenience store or something, you know, everybody had a little, little, you know, shop they could go to and have a line of credit and they would, they were paying back when they, when they got paid. Yeah, yeah. So that's what people are turning to now and they're just, you know, it, it's, it is a help. I think people just need to get help where they can get help from just for the essentials. It's not even for shopping anymore. It's for gas and groceries, you know, cocaine. Stop it, man. Oh, my God. Come on. All right. Thank you. Mimi said moon right now. No, she did not. You said cocaine. Wait a minute. Finishing about. See what Mimi does on the weekends. All right, but I mean, don't put down Mimi name. I didn't hear you, but back in the day in the hood, there was a line of credit for that too. What are you talking about? It's a fact. If you, like, if you knew, if you knew the person and you knew the people. Yeah. I give you, you know, and then you pay me back when you get paid. Yeah, I don't know nothing about that. Thank you, Mimi. There you go, Mimi. I used to sell crap. We know. I was a petty drug dealer. All right, y', all. Well, that's your front page news. I'm Mimi Brown. Follow me, Mimi Brown tv. For more stories, follow the Black Information Network, Download the free iHeartRadio app and visit binnews.com. thank you, Mimi. Peace, Mimi. Now, when we come back From Power Book 4 Force, Joseph Socorro, Isaac Keys, and Christy Lofton. So don't go anywhere. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. Is DJ Envy. Just hilarious Charlemagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Lauren laros is here as well. We got some special guests in the building. Yes, indeed. We got Chris Lofton, we got Isaac Keys, and we got Joseph Sakura. Welcome, gentlemen. Fantastic. You saw that first episode. It dropped as heavy last week. That's right. Set it up for the rest of the season. It's going to be Fire season. How do y' all approach doing a final season? Like, how does that even make y' all feel? Is it bittersweet? Like, what is. How do you approach it? I think, like, you just said bittersweet. But, you know, I think once we know it's the final season, I think it makes us go a little harder, you know what I mean? Like, make sure we make the scenes a little bit more intense. I think the writing room did the same thing and just making sure that every episode had a bang factor to it. And, you know, as actors, you know, like, we're gonna put our best foot forward. And I think we did a great job doing that. Is it always that feeling? Like, the last show would be so amazing, but like, yeah, we just can't end it like that. We gotta do another one or another one. Is that. Is that ever a feeling? Or you're like, nah, this is rap. Well, I think that Gary and I just wanted to make sure that we gave Chicago. Chicago's due. A big thing was, is that I didn't produce the first season, just the second and the third season. And a big thing for me was getting Chicago better, you know, a little bit more realistic. Like, even the power show is kind of like New York adjacent, but we wanted to be Chicago adjacent. But it's like, it's a real place. We wanted to show the diversity within the diversity. Like, I think it was kind of like a globular south side of Chicago, a globular west side. And I just mean that there was no specificity or details. And we do a lot more detail oriented stuff in the third season. And I think that the city is really gonna bless this show for this final season. What did you do to do, like, what was your research like, leaving the city? Well, yeah, you know, I mean, I moved. I moved to New York 26 years ago. So it was like, you know, I went back early and I met with cops and robbers and asked and learned more about the. Because when I was there, there was really. It was really a city of gang nations. You know, there was folks and people and. And. And a lot of things that were rules, that were street rules that were followed. And now with the emergence of kind of like all these renegade gangs and gangs within that used to be nations that kind of went against each other. Where would the pipeline be coming from? How would Tommy Egan survive in this? Who would want to just make the money and who would just want to see him dead? And I think that we do a lot of responsible storytelling in, like, There's a million people going at each other in, on the south side and on the west side and where the distribution comes from. And some of the cartels that would really, truly exist that mimic the cartels in real life. That's what we did. Were there any things in your research trying to get it so real where you were like, nah, we don't want to touch this just because of what may actively be happening or just because his history wise, you just don't want to. You don't want to ruffle anything. Yeah, well, you know. Yeah, I mean, Chris and I are both from Chicago, and there's definitely, you know, I mean, it's. Now that I'm this age, this old, it's like in my 30s and 40s even going back. I mean, I remember it'd be like, you know, you. You don't want people from the past popping up and being like, yo, man, what's up? How you. Why'd you put it like that? Or why'd you do this like this? And so you do. There is kind of, you know, it's, it's adjacent, but it, but it mimics the real life. It's like people if, you know, you know, style. And I think there's a lot of wink, wink, non nods to real life stuff going in there. But, yeah, I mean, you want to be careful. You know, Tommy's such an interesting character. Joseph, like, you know, he's always either chasing control or power or loyalty or revenge. Like, what's, what's driving him this season? Man, that's a great question. A lot. I think a lot of it is revenge and kind of this, this, this hunger for power and how that, that the power. You know, they say power corrupts complete. Power corrupts complete. Yeah, absolutely. Absolute power of collapse. Absolutely. I know Charlamagne's always just a little smarter than me. It's just. But that's what it is. And I think that again, it's. It's like, can you have it all? And that's, that's the question because Tommy's going for it all this time, and is he going to sacrifice loyalty with Diamond? Is he gonna. Is he gonna do backhanded deals with Gennard, who's a backhanded deal master? But yeah, it's a really exciting season. Gary Lennon, again, our showrunner, in the whole writing room, did a fantastic job. I'm so proud of them. And I think the fans are going to be really happy. Happy? No, for sure. I always feel like Diamond's trying to move righteous In a dirty world. I agree. I'm doing a great job. Then that's exactly what I'm trying to putray. I think, you know, it is like you just said, like, you can't. It's not moral than values too much in the street now, there's street codes. You try to go by those things, but those morals and values will get you killed. And he was trying to play both sides for so long, and I think now, as you start to see he's starting to, like, he's choosing a side he's both feeding. Then, you know, now he's actually kind of looking at Tommy like, why you. Why you in love? You know, looking at his brother Janard, because he wants that brother relationship, I believe. But at the same time, you. That's going. It could be his downfall. I mean, it's all about relationships and alliances right now and how you choose and what side you going to choose to go on. And I think diamond is in that. Caught in that little quandary right now. You guys, relationship. I was going to say diamond and Tommy, Joseph and Isaac, you guys, relationship in the new season kind of mimics what the relationship was with Ghost and Tommy a bit in the reverse. Yeah, yeah. And it's weird because it's like, now you're in that power seat, no pun intended, but now you're in the driver's seat. Right. And you're able to, like, choose what you say, what you don't say, and you're kind of, like, controlling him. Was that purposely done for the fans who've been following all the shows to kind of put that together? I mean. Yes. Yeah, I think so. But I also love how it mimics just like that hurt people. Hurt people. And if, you know, you kind of follow the. The faults of your father or whatever, that expression. Charlemagne will correct me, but they're, you know, the sins of the father. It's like there's. There is. There is this kind of reverseness that's happening, too. And we'll see what happens to Tommy because ultimately, what happened to Ghost, so, you know. Yeah, we gotta see what happens. Definitely. There was a moment in the first episode where there was that when you came to talk to him in the warehouse. I felt like you turned into Ghost in that moment. Moment. And. But Tommy checked himself, too. Yeah, but I felt like Ghost would have did that to you. It was almost like reverse psychology. Like you were just telling him what, you know. He. I don't know, man. Ghost had a hard time saying. I felt like I didn't even know. You thought you were checking yourself in that moment. And it's hard to talk about because. But it was real. I mean, I think Tommy's an honest character in the way when he's like, yo, man, I should have told you everything. I should have done that. But it's. Tommy gonna do it again. That's the. That's the thing. Yes. It's like. It was smart. It's like, kind of magnificent, you know, how to. He needed. He knew how to down, like, minimize the situation at the time, because I felt diamond was coming high, and I think that was a different level of seeing Tommy and Joseph play that. So, you know. Yeah, I thought it was a great. It's a great scene because it was even hard for me as a character. Like, they like, no, bring it. I'm like, y' all want me to bring it? You know what I'm saying? Like that. No, bring it. And they're starting to. It starts to build with the character. Chris, how do you see Janard? Did I see. People call him a smart villain. Some people call him a. A monster. Is he just a man trying to out hustle a system that's against. Stacked again against him, Man, I think Gennard is misunderstood because honestly, I, Isaac, hate when I go off into this tangent, but I honestly feel like nobody's looking at it the right way. I feel like, because I'm actually from Chicago, I try to implement a lot of what I know. The people are going to be watching this saying, like, nah, that ain't. That ain't how we would do it in Chicago. Y' all really gonna let this white boy come up in here and do that? So to me, I feel like I'm the voice of the fans. So to me, I look at Gennard as to me, the only one that got some sense. For real. Because why. Why I'm supposed to not know anything about what Tommy was doing those six years on power. I'm supposed to not know that. To me, this is just a white man in Chicago who may or may not be the police. Nobody knows. Like, why are we all so trusting in him? Like, nobody. And then with my brother, I'm like, okay, you were in prison. I heard you like to cut hair in jail. That's what you was in there doing, right? Bought you a barber shop, put you up, you're comfortable. You got something to do. Stay out the way you're on. You're on parole. You hot. You're not supposed to be touching the streets. You're gonna Mess up the whole organization. If you get caught, you're gonna blow it all up. So I' handle it. I'll talk to you. We'll deliberate. We'll be partners. Brothers. You know, that was my. My goal. My dream. Didn't work out like that. Is that difficult to make it make sense? Because. Because what you just said is I have to make it. I have to make it make sense. Because, you know, we look at him from. We understand it, but this is a new series. Yes. Yeah. To me, trying to make it make sense. I did create that backstory. I sat with. I remember I told Joseph Isaac, and with Gary Lennon, our showrunner, I created a whole backstory in my head to make. Make some of this make sense. Because obviously, I would never go against my brother trying to kill my brother. That's crazy. But I tried to make it make sense to Janard. It's like, okay, we talking about millions of dollars. This organization, cbi, is supposed to be worth millions of dollars. And if he's been in prison for 15 years, that means I kind of know more life without him than with him. And now if we add millions of dollars into the mix and some new person that nobody knows who's white. How about I kill both of you, right? How about I just kill both of you? You ain't even been here for 15 years anyway. I could do without. It's like, I don't understand, like, so that's how I had to convince myself. And sometimes I get too invested in it, and I'm like, yeah, you know what? Janard. Janard got too invested. You can't. I know I get too invested sometimes. And I'll be like, no, this is wrong. Nobody gets Janard that comes across on screen, though. I feel like on screen, you're like the little brother that's like, no, I can do this. Listen to me. Listen to me. But then you be messing up, and then you gotta call Diamond. Thank you. You got the messing up part right. That's a little brother thing, though. What is up, party people? I text him that the other day as soon as I land in. In New York. I told him that. That's funny. Speaking of the brother dynamic, you guys, dynamic is kind of like the same but a bit different in this new season because you're kind of making your own moves, and you got your girl, and she's, you know, helping you a bit more. You trust him a little bit more, but you're not at the same time. What do you guys want your relationship to say to People in a regular world about brother relationships, big brother, little brother relationships, people that don't sell drugs or they do. Right. I would personally, I would probably sell, say like, forgiveness could probably be a thing. And love trumps all. And blood is definitely thicker than water. I think I would want people to like, take that from it. Like, blood is truly thicker than water. And your family, I feel like the only people closest to you can hurt you, because if you don't care about somebody, they can't hurt your feelings. They can't. They can't betray you. You know, it has to come from somebody you love. So I feel like learning to forgive and learning that family trumps all is something that I would want people to know. Well, but blood is finite. Water is infinite. Oh, there's a, you know, there's. That's all. Yeah, I mean, water's gonna make you survive longer than blood. I mean, drink that a little bit, you know what I mean? The French soldiers with the Russian horses, I heard and all that stuff. But the water, that's life giving too. Take the war, baby. Take it to war. I think, you know, it's real life. Like, you know, we all have family members there. We necessarily don't get along, but we still kind of love them. But we may have to keep them from afar, but we're still trying to figure them out. I think it's really deep about the relationships. I think the whole show really dives into how the relationship and the toxicity of it, you know, like, you know, like, you know, really all you just communicate. If you just communicate with a person, if his brother, if diamond just would have gave Janard a hug, you know, another hug or something, he might even made him feel a little better or just talked about it like, how are you gonna kill your brother? Like, it's the deepness and the depthness of what you're willing to lose and sacrifice for what you want, the kind of motiv you want. And then what? How does that align in your life, like to him killing his brother? That was enough to fight for him. Some people that's something hard to do. We still get on the streets all the time. Like, why? Why you don't kill you? Why you don't kill your brother, why you don't, you know, unlive your brother? And it's like, can you do that? Would you be able to do in the world? So that tussle, I think is just amazing to be able to show the relationship between brother notice. But you sound like Deion Sanders, man. This feel Motivational. For some reason he's there sometimes. What does redemption look like for diamond, like now that the streets, you know, keep pulling them back. I think ultimately what diamond wants is he wants that bill to make, make this money, have power, but he doesn't want all the violence and stuff that goes along with it. At some point, like he, if it was the best world, the coalition, everybody working together, you know, everybody making money, let's just do that and be cool, you know. And I think that, yeah, and I think, but it's like, you know, when you see the character, the Tommy character coming with Joseph play so. Well, nah, we want more than that. We want more than that. So he's still got to make his moves and make his moves, you know, in alignment with how he wants to move. So that somehow kind of creates that friction between everyone in a sense because there's so many players in this. You know, we still have the Aladdin and the cartel side and have the control that they have. So now we're just trying to, you know, I think Diamond's redemption is just, he really just wanted, he wants to be there. But he, but, but you know, it ain't gonna work the way he wants it to work. And that's how it works in the streets. Do you, do you think the world will ever, ever look at the gang organization as like anything for anything righteous they've ever done? I know with BMF50 also tried to talk about the family unit and stuff like that. And it's very prevalent that you're that character in this show. But people don't see that. They only say, why would you guys be in a show that showcases all these things? I'm sure you get that question all the time. Do you think the world will ever say, but wait, there was a righteous component to this. There was a family aspect. Yes. And I think even outside the show, we make sure we do a lot of stuff in the community, community. I make sure we start, we have speaking engagements and talking to make sure we know this is entertainment. It's telling a story, you know, a story of some made up characters of some made up characters that, you know, how they, how they move in the streets and how they life and how the family dynamics happen. And I think that also by showing that in Chicago with all the things that's going on with the city of Chicago, we're able to show the entertainment part of it, but we also able to talk touch on some of the things of the diversity of the city and how the city is made up and the history and architecture and just kind of giving some more light on the city in that way as well too. But I think it's very important for people to know even as we talk is to make sure that we know that this is a story. It's a TV series. It's not real life. It's the power universe. We know that's not, you know, real life. There's so many things that happen. That Mustang pulls up anywhere. No parking tickets. What a matchup we got, y'. All. This is that classic HBCU vibe. Non stop action. The bag is rocking and the crowd lit. Chance echo drum beat everybody showing that school pride Game like this. Yeah, it calls for an ice cold Coca Cola. Ah, crisp and refreshing. That's a game changer right there. Yeah, that taste always hits the right note. Just like the band at halftime. And just like that, we're back at it. Passionate fans, school cut colors everywhere. And an ice cold Coca Cola. That's a winning combo no matter the sport, no matter the yard. Everybody knows fan work is thirsty work. So grab a Coca Cola and keep that HBCU pride going. On the podcast health stuff, we are tackling all the health questions that keep you up at night. Yes, I'm Dr. Priyanka Wally, a double board certified physician. And I'm Hari Kondabolu, a comedian and someone who once goofy googled do I have scurvy at 3am on health stuff, we're talking about health in a different way. It's not only about what we can do to improve our health, but also what our health says about us and the way we're living. Like our episode where we look at diabetes in the United states. I mean, 50% of Americans are pre diabetic. How preventable is type 2? Extremely. Or our in depth analysis of how incredible mangoes are. Oh, it's hard to explain to rest of the world that like your mangoes are fine because mangoes are incredible, but like you don't even know. You don't know, you don't know. It's going to be a fun ride. So tune in. Listen to health stuff on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All I know is what I've been told, and that's a half truth is a whole lot. For almost a decade, the murder of an 18 year old girl from a small town in Graves County, Kentucky went unsolved until a local homemaker, a journalist and a handful of girls came forward with a story. I'm telling you, we know Quincy killed her. We know a story that law enforcement used to convict six people and that got the citizen investigation on national tv. Through sheer persistence and nerve, this Kentucky housewife helped give justice to Jessica Curran. My name is Maggie Freeling. I'm a Pulitzer Prize winning journalist producer, and I wouldn't be here if the truth were that easy to find. I did not know her and I did not kill her or rape or burn or any of that other stuff that y' all said. They literally made me say that I took a match and struck and threw it on her. They made me say that I poured gas on her. Are from Lava For Good. This is Graves County, a show about just how far our legal system will go in order to find someone to blame. It's a day for us to show up for one another. I'm Elliot Connie, host of the podcast Family Therapy, a series where real families come together to heal and find hope. What would be a clue that would be like? I've gotten lots of text messages from him. This one's from a little bit better of a version of him because he's feeding himself well. It's always a concern, like, are you eating well? He's actually an amazing cook. There was this one time where we had neighbors and I saved their dog and I ended up inviting them over for food. And that was like, one of my proudest moments. This is family Therapy. Real families, real stories on a journey to heal together. Listen to season two of Family Therapy every Wednesday on the Black Effect Podcast Network, iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Jenna World, Jenna Jamison, Vivid Video and the Valley is a new podcast about the history of the adult film film industry. I'm Molly Lambert, host of Heidi the Heidi Fly Story, and I'll be your tour guide on a wild ride through adult films. We get paid more than the men. We call the shots. In what way is that degrading? That's us taking hold of our Life. In the 1990s, actress Jenna Jameson crossed over into mainstream culture, redefined stardom then left it all by behind. I'm a powerful woman. I think that's intimidating to a man. With a cast of hundreds of actors and comedians playing key figures, we'll take a look at how adult films became legal in the 70s, hugely profitable in the 80s and 90s, and fell off a financial cliff in the 2000s. Listen to Genaworld on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast costs. I will say though, that, that these stories are. Might not be based on somebody's real life, but they are lives that's happening out there. Oh, for sure. Every time. Like, bro. All the time. Me and my brother. Oh man, that's how it was, bro. You, me, you. And that's why I think these stories mean so much, you know, And a lot of times, like she said, a lot of people feel like, oh well, they're idolizing or they're making it seem like this. But for a lot of times that's what we grew up seeing. Right. We grew up seeing the local drug dealers. Dealers. And you always wanted to know. Well, I always wanted to know, like, how did they do their business? How did it work? So I think this kind of gives you an inside. False or not false, but primarily true of how it worked and how it got down. So when you tape. So I don't think so. Tommy would have been in jail a long time ago, man. He drives the same getaway car. All right, the car. And it is, it is loud. Yeah, there are those aspects. Hard to drive too. It'd be pretty easy to peg Tom. He's not switching up rides all that much. Although in the original power show they did, you know, some of that. Yeah, some of that. That. I think when you made that drive to Chicago, you switch cars in the original, right? No, it was like they, they booked me out of the car this drive. Let's not talk about season one. I was going to ask, you know, when you talk about street credit and talking about what's real, how. How important is street code when you're doing these shows? I. I honestly do think it's important. Honestly. We got to keep it true to what it is. But also there are some things that we don't want to touch on because it's too real. Like, that's why they don't mention like real gangs. We make up gang names cuz we don't want to seem like we're promoting actual gotcha gang violence in the city or making other gangs. Cuz our DMS are crazy. I can't speak for everybody, but mine is insane. Like, my DMS get crazy when they show on the death threats. And a lot of people really, oh, dog. Death threats. I get crazy dm. So it's like we try to be careful with that out there. You slip in little vernacular improvs that every now and again when I see in the cut, I go, Chicago. So I'll try to slip in on every chance again. I'll try to slip it in and then. Because I know the city is gonna be like, bro. I know, like, I know, like that the city of Chicago is behind it. I feel like New York and Chicago are two cities that they don't. We don't really particularly like when actors portray being from there if they're not really from there. Like, we don't want you to come from LA and try to be on a New York TV show saying you a hood dude from New York. I don't, man. London Brown crushes it as Uncle Marv. An exceptional case. London Brown. Shout out to London. That's my dog. But like, I don't feel like New York and Chicago likes that that much. LA don't like it at all. LA is another one. Yeah. LA don't like it at all. And I always also want to know, when y' all shoot so many different films, how do y' all stay in character? TV shows. TV shows. Yeah. How do y' all stay in character in all the shows? Cuz y' all different characters in different shows. I mean, for me is. The simple version for me is action and cut. Like, I'm not. I don't deal. Take it home with you. Yeah. I've never been that guy for real that really, like, takes it home with me. I just. Me neither. Yeah. I just know how to disassociate a lot more fun. I just find that there's a lot more fun when you get to. It is. But also it's like coming, you know, coming from the theater, darling. You know, it's like, if you're not going to bring that character home, you're playing the guy for six months. You know what I mean? You're just. You just. You bring it to the theater. That's why you warm up. That's why you get, you know, do the whole thing. Could y' all imagine if Joseph pulled up to pick up his kid from school? He pull up in the car. Oh, yeah. When I see you, it's so hard to not see Tommy. All of you guys. It's hard to not envision Y' all in the show. I'm like, dang, I was just watching you last night. Like, if y' all le that girl. Not to me. I think Julie does a fantastic job acting, cuz he's nothing like Tommy in real life. He's just a nice. That was different too. But the voice is there. The he's selling copious amounts of drugs. But other than that, Isaac and Chris, in regards to dealing with 50 Cent, what did y' all learn from Little Meech? I never want to be on 50's bad side. That's all. I just learned that. And I know never. I never want to owe 50 money ever in life. Not from little me, but just in general. Just from knowing money. Never owe money because I know he wants it by Monday. And. And I just, you know, and I just want to stay on this good side. That's it. I don't know, you know, with him and little Holo me thing, I have no clue. I'm not privy to truly what's going on there. I just know my loyalty runs deep. I know the day I booked this role, one of the first things I did, you would appreciate it. Charlamagne. Cause you know, you. You a little messy. First thing I did was I went straight to Ja Rule's Instagram, Instagram and pressed unfollow. It says follow back right now. This is follow back. Because I'd already met John. I'd already met him, but long before I got up, I met him and he followed me, his manager and everything. And I said, the one thing that will not happen, Curtis Jackson will not used to just be sitting down one day and go on Ja Rule's page and see followed by Chris D. Loft and you will not. And I just unfollowed him. No Ja Rule on the playlist anymore. I don't know. God. Heavens no. Heavens, though. You hang around with me pretty long. Everybody got problems, but you won't follow Rick Ross. Everybody, everybody. I don't follow any of them. I swear. When we get off, I'm gonna show you. Here's the viral moment I saw. Hey, man, I've learned as you talk about football and hey, I just walk in my light, man. Like, I don't get involved in the mess. I don't get involved in anything. Especially. I got too many other problems, my own to be worried about something else and what's going on over there, because you never know all the complete details. You never know. So why pass judgment on and try to, you know, do whatever? I just mind my business. Man, simple, simple answer. Joseph, I want to say I saw TMZ ran into you. They asked you about the me situation. 50 posted it and said you was too smart. You got up out of there easy. I don't know if I got out of there easy. I think I chose my words pretty carefully, but because I think Meech is a nice young man. And I think that both. What people Forget is that 5th paid for his acting classes. I mean, he invested into Meech. So there's, there's a certain amount there that's, that's, you know, there, There was love. And I basically, what I said to tmz, if there was love, there can be love again. You know, there, there's a certain amount of redemption or forgiveness within there. So it's also just like I, I try to stay in my lane as well, you know, it's not my again, like Isaac said, it's not really my business. But I, I, I want everybody to get along. But if you can't, man, I'm gonna keep it moving, so. Exactly. You really think, though, that there could be love again? It seems like 50 is kind of like done with that situation. I mean, he, then he's probably, Then he's probably done, you know, But I always. I. There. There's always hope. You know, it's interesting with power too, because power is built on loyalty, is built on betrayal and ambition. I want to ask y' all in real life, what's more dangerous? Ambition with no loyalty or loyalty with no ambition. Wow. I'll go. Ambition with no loyalty. Yeah, same. That's what I would go. That's dangerous. I'm still processing. That's deep. I'll be overthinking something fantastic. I'm here for it, Bishop. With no loyalty, loyalty, I probably would have to concur like ambition. I think ambition can be some. Too much ambition can always ruin a relationship because therefore, now you just going for what you want. You can become. You become very selfish in that respect. When you become self selfish, you end up hurting a lot of people that are around you, especially when they trying to be loyal to you, you know? And then you. Ambition. Are you moving different, as you say? You're moving weird, you know? You know, so trying to figure that out. I think that's, that's a good question. And I like when the power show in all of its incarnations shows that. Yeah, that, that without loyalty, without this with just blind ambition, things fall apart. You know, this kind of lifestyle is people. You can't be happy in a Lot of ways, I always say Tommy's like a vampire. He's. In some ways, he keeps living, but, like, he's living alone. And it could be a lonely life. It's like, it's not winning. Yeah. Every day it's like you looking over your shoulder, you're trying to figure it out. There was some scenes I always looked at. I always admired, you know, how Joseph does. Cause you talked about how can you walk away from it. But there's scenes where, you know, I'm. This. Only. This is like my first season of doing it. I'm like. But you feel all the treachery behind you. People that's trying to do all these things, like, feeling like Jnar trying to kill Diamond. I personalized that a little bit. Like, so even on the set. Like, I couldn't talk to him for a little while after that. Like, knowing how, you know, just knowing how he moving, you know, sitting around the corner, over the corner, smoking the square hang, laughing, being Chris as I'm in the barbershop looking like this. Like, I still wasn't over with it for a time because. And I always admired about the, you know, the character Tommy's, because he dealt with that for so many seasons on Power, like, over and over again. And then come to this, I'm like, it takes some therapy. It takes some, you know, some. Some aspect later on to be like, okay, let me let that go. It takes practice, because it is deep feeling still in therapy, and you're talking to the right guys here who are advocates for it. Yeah, it's a Cane and Abel dynamic to y'. All. It definitely is. I think so. I definitely think it's that. That's a good analogy. Joseph, is there an end to the Power Universe? Like, have there been talks, like, today maybe to the end of Tommy's character? There's been talks. Oh. But I feel like in terms of the end of the Power Universe, I think that most talks are about expansion. Mansion. All right, Where. Where can we go next? You know, we're the only power show that takes place outside of New York, so that was a kind of a big thing for them at this point, too. But then with, you know, with 50s other shows, with Fightland coming out and in England, I. I feel like they're gonna probably be thinking about a little bit of international expansion in some capacity through the Power Universe, and then I'm sure that they'll. They'll expand on stories in New York like they are doing already in the Origins story. But I bet there'll be more spin offs that take place around nyc. Do you have an idea what, what you would want the ending for Tommy? I know exactly what I would want the ending for Tommy. In fact, me and Gary Lennon are already starting to make an outline for a movie for a feature that would be kind of the, possibly the final, final chapter. Wow, Love that. You're not gonna tell us? That'd be hard. No, he can't tell us. I'm listening. Does 50 know about this? I hope. I don't want this to be his first listen. No. Every move I make that has anything to do with power on almost any move I make, anything he wants to know, he could know. But any move I make, if fifth is all I always have because it's responsible. Like, he, he's, he's owed it because. Yeah, because I'm a loyal, you know, friend or colleague or whatever. But he's also owed it because he's owed it because he's an executive producer and a creator. So he's owed it twice. But I also, I always give the respect to fifth because there's a good guy. Like, he's been a good person to me, a great person to me. He's taught me a lot. He sat down with me. He's been accessible. Like, I, I realize how much I owe 50 and I'm, I'm grateful. All right, well, definitely check out the final season of Force. Make sure you check it out. The first episode was last Friday and we appreciate you brothers for joining us. Thank you so much. Isaac Keys. Christy Lofton. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Good morning, everybody. We are the Breakfast Club on this Tuesday. Let's get to the latest with Lauren. Lauren becoming a straight fat. She gets them from somebody that knows. Somebody gets the details. I'm the homegirl that knows a little bit about everything. She be having the latest on the Latest with Lauren LaRosa. Sometimes you have facts, sometimes you have details. Sometimes she have a little bit of everything. Well, it's the latest on the Breakfast Club. So Deb Antne, who is the former manager and business partner of Gucci man and also Nicki Minaj, also Waka Flocka's mom, she heard our Breakfast Club interview interview up here and she, she responding to it. She did an interview with a hip hop Inquirer and take a listen to what Breakfast Club interview When we sat down with Gucci Manikisha Kohr. I'm sorry, when we sat down with Gucci Manikisha Kohr and specifically she's responding to the part of the conversation where we talked about artists giving Gucci his flowers and. Or not giving Gucci his flowers. So let's take a listen to Deb on Keisha Kohr. So did you see the Breakfast Club interview with, like, Gucci and Keysha? Oh, God, unfortunately, yes. I can't begin to tell you how many people sent me that. I don't follow the Breakfast Club, but I've had that sent to me by several people. I doubt I was the major that I know. It just did not seem like him. In a million years, you wouldn't get to make me believe that either he wasn't drugged up or something wasn't going on with him there. I don't feel like she should have came out nationally saying the stuff that she said about her husband. I don't think that that's for the world. That, like, sounds like somebody that wants attention and that threw a husband out on the chopping block. I don't care what anybody say. This ain't about them worrying about no damn mental health. This is worrying about people trying to be on top. Yeah, I'm sorry. And she also speak. Spoke about the mental health, as you guys just heard. Now, another part of this interview, she talks about the fact that. Can I just comment on that real quick? Please, go ahead. Evolve so hard that people have to get to know you all over again. Evolve so much that people don't even recognize you anymore. That is exactly what life is actually about. Well, you know. You know, it's funny you said that. I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking that when you show that change, people won't believe it. People will criticize you. They will issue on your change. Because after that interview, right, everybody would say he was drugged up. He was this. He was dad. He was next to his wife. I seen him a couple days later in Hampton, Virginia, where he performed. And Gucci was the same, calm, cool, collective Gucci. He didn't have his wife around. He was with his crew, his security. It was the same. All I see is a healed individual. He was a change. All I see is a healed human that's still on a journey of healing. Like I. That's all I see. And one thing's up here, talking about his drug addiction back then. And she said he was drugged up during the interview. But when I seen him in. In Virginia and he Hampton, he came up to me and he said, I just want to say thank y'. All. And I said, wow, what's up? He said, because I shared my story and he said, I know some people will joke and some people won't. He said, but people are actually reading the book. And so many people are hitting me, saying, hey, you helping to change my life. I want to change my life for the better. I'm getting into therapy. I'm getting help. And he said that was the main focus. So the path of personal growth and development brings huge changes in your life. And yes, they go from the inside out. Yes, you should not recognize. Recognize me. That's how you should have ball drop a bomb for Gucci once. But imagine after doing all that work, right. You being told that you drugged up. Right. For doing. Yeah. Doing the work. Like, I'm. I'm the best I've ever been. I'm my best self. I'm telling y' all my story. And, and this is drugged up. That's crazy. Yeah. And Keisha Kor has been. I mean, you guys have seen it. She's been getting a lot of things thrown her way just because she's supporting and helping her husband, just being his wife. Yeah. And Deb Anthony also talked about what she went through with Gucci herself. Let's take a listen to that. I went through tons of stuff with him, and I'm not going to go through all of that now just because I don't deal with him. I've never advertised anything people never knew about, none of that stuff. And I placed him in hospitals. I've done various things, and nobody ever knew nothing about it. And when she sat there and said, oh, she wished that people. People would bring him up. Well, talk about me. Cause you wouldn't have him if it wasn't for me. And that pissed me off when I seen that. My son always talk about Gucci. And Waka didn't come out when Gucci was on the stage. Waka was Gucci's hitter. It wasn't about him doing music with Gucci. That didn't happen. He didn't put Fritz Montana out. He didn't put Nikki out. I put Nikki on that stage. He never wanted her on the stage. That's really nothing. With French, he was Rob Fritz. I'm tired of them taking away what I did. I got boxes and boxes of paperwork anytime they want to try me. Yeah. You know, he was up here promoting a book, Right? That's why, like, he wrote a book. That's why. Yeah, I, I. Yeah, I'm pretty sure if somebody, like, asked him, I guess, you know, like, what, what, what is. What was going on with you and D? You know, how Is that. Yeah. Nobody asked him. Nobody asked him about Deb. I, I, I mean, I, I do know Deb had a huge hand over a lot of the artists, put in a lot of work. Deb put in a lot of work. Deb helped Gucci and his label and a lot of stuff. But we didn't ask about that. But. Right. Deb definitely did put in a lot of work. The question that you specifically asked, and we have it, we can play it if we want to. You asked about. You didn't ask. You mentioned the different time that he had artists and if, if things would have been better if Keisha K. Was with him. Let's take a listen to what was actually, you know, I look at Gucci, and if you really think about all the artists that he has touched and could have signed, he could have been bigger than any label out there. If you go through them, we can go from. From Thug to Waka to the Migos. Yeah. Waka. Waka was signed. Yeah. Do you think if I was there, I could have helped him build that empire? A thousand percent. We had this conversation many years ago. I said, gucci, you just have to accept that you are not well and fix it. He had so many artists from back in the day, and because of this, they resigned with other people or whatever the situation is. And it pisses me off because none of them respects him or give him the credit. Like, Gucci signed me. Gucci's the one that got me out of the slum. Gucci's the one that changed my life. None of them talks about that. They don't acknowledge him. But would you like to see Keisha, like, I would like them to acknowledge him. Even if they win an award. Acknowledge him because he gave you the stomping ground. Yeah. And that's what she was responding to. Deb Anthony was. I think in all of this, what it is is that people feel like, you know, they. They want their credit. I know Keisha Kor wants it for Gucci, and Deb ant he wants it for herself because everybody's putting work. I understand both sides, but I know. But when you say, like, when you. Not. Because she had said something about, like, I did a lot of things on. But I didn't say anything. I didn't, you know. Yeah. This is. He wrote a book. Like, this is his book. Yeah. You know what I mean? That's why it's being talked about. And it's shedding light on his stories to bring awareness for other men that's going through the same Thing that's been the craziest part for me is people turning this into everything. But him helping people through sharing what he's going through. I'm proud of Gucci. If y' all would have seen Gucci years ago, this is a total. I remember the video in the mall. He's involved. He's a different human being. So seeing him here and then seeing him in the streets, he's a different Gucci. And I'm proud of it. And I love to see the evolution. And all I know is if you see a person on a healing journey and you don't believe that they're actually on a healing journey, it just lets me know that maybe you might need some healing too, because healed people see different. I agree. I don't know if I'm healed enough to see the difference yet, but I think that that's probably true. All right, well, that showed the ashy. I've been wanting to tell you that almost the one that's out cuz he always hating. Shout out to Jayvon James. It's his birthday today too. This is. He designed this outfit out to avino. What about shout out to leave me shout out to avino? Shout out to avino is crazy. Oh, my goodness. All right, give me some gold behind. Oh, Happy birthday to Leonard C O. Yeah. One bad or another. All right, well, that gives. Why would you give me all this lotion? Don't cuz you white and you don't get. All right, well, thank you for the latest with Lauren. Now welcome donkey. Today we're giving that donkey too. Four after the hour. We need a woman named Tiffany Rose Williams to come to the front of the congregation. We'd like to have a word with her, please. Okay. All right, we'll get to that. Next it's the pre shining. Now some donkey today's just saw himself. I've been watching charlamagne. I was ready for donkey. I never heard old donkey. Other they was. What is it? Say it again. Charlamagne. I'm a donkey. Yes, you are a donkey. Everything that Charlemagne is saying is true. Yes. Dunk here Today for Tuesday, November 11th goes to a 42 year old woman named Tiffany Rose Williams. Tiffany is from the Michigan area, I believe and she was arrested for stabbing a 19 year old in the mall. Now I'm going to tell you right now, I saw this story and I said immediately. I have to hear both sides. Okay? 42 years old stabbing a 19 year old in the mall. Hey, these y ends be tripping sometime. All right, You Go to the mall real quick. Just want to run up in Sephora to get something that makes you smell good. I'll go to Foot Locker to grab you some fresh dad shoes AKA all white Air Force ones. If you want some new Tims for the fall winter, you're just trying to be in and out real quick. And sometimes you run into one of these y ends and you just got to let them know, hey man, I'm just trying to un. Trying to make it. I'm just trying to make it home. Okay? Most of the time they respect that. But every now and then, one might try you all right? So when I saw the age difference, that's the first thing I thought. But I was wrong. Let's go to Fox Detroit for the brief hole. Please. Her store turned crime scene between the Nikes and New Balance. A teen is stabbed by a very angry woman in line whose card was declined. She's talking with Fox 2 from her hospital bed. I did get stabbed four times. I have a punctured lunch right now in the hospital for who knows how long. And all for what? Saniya Jenkins stabbed a kid's footlocker. Sanaya tells us she was walking by the sneaker store at Southland Mall in Taylor Wednesday and heard yelling at the register inside. A 40 year old woman's credit card was declined. Saniya says she looked in, then the woman snapped at her. As the argument verbal, she put her hand in her purse and proceeded to tell me she was gonna shoot me instead pulling out a kitchen knife and stabbing someone. Sanaya. Twice in the neck, once in the stomach and thigh. Police sources say a comment about the suspect being broke spurred the whole thing, but Sanaya says it wasn't her. I am going to press charges, but it also saddens me in a way because I don't want her to be taken away from her kids. Dang. That's crazy. Why? The news reporter said between the Nikes and New Balance, what that had to do with it? Did y' all hear that? Play that. Play that one more time. Red. What the hell? Do anything. Her store turned crime scene between the Nikes and New Balance. What did that happen? Yeah, I don't think I would be one mentioned there. I'mma tell you right now though, y' all better leave people to hell alone when they having financial issues. Okay? Let me tell you something, man. I know y' all might look at the Dame Dash interview and, you know, see me clowning him, calling him broke. But I promise you that was a special circumstance because of who he is and how to he acts. Plus, according to him, he's not broke. But one thing I don't do is shame nobody for being broke, especially when they are. That is a recipe for disaster. Not to mention, I know what it feels like to be broke, okay? There's nothing funny about not being able to pay your rent, all right? I. I was broke way longer than I've ever had some coins, okay? I don't remember what time it was after I got fired, but one time after I got fired from radio, my wife was paying all the bills, and we couldn't afford to pay everything without me having a check coming in, so we was getting evicted, and my wife had to go down to the car courthouse and explain the situation to them, okay? There's nothing worse than not being able to pay your bills. And you are grown human with kids, okay? That's why I don't even understand how people aren't truly grasping the plight of the federal workers in our country right now. Missing a paycheck could literally have you homeless, okay? And we live in this era where everybody wants to look the part. All right? Don't get me wrong. People have always wanted to look like they got money, but social media has made it way worse, okay? Because people. People don't have to deal with the reality of their situation as long as they can can convince y' all online that they ball, all right? This is why I be telling kids all the time, stop comparing yourself to these digital D heads on social media. They lying, okay? You 23 years old, trying to keep up with another 23 year old who walks around taking pictures in front of other people's cars, acting like it's this f. Out of here. Okay? Now let me tell you something else. Sometimes you got it. And your car declines. Okay? My cards do that all the time for suspicious activity. Activity. Sometimes the place I'm at, their card reader may not be working. It's a whole bunch of reasons your card may decline. But if you in line somewhere and your car declines and you hear someone behind you whisper, brokey, you gotta conceive. That's Jeff. You gotta control your emotions, okay? What does your Uncle Charlotte always tell you? You got to do your jail math. Can you afford to commit the. The crime? Yeah, you online and your car declines and you hear somebody laugh like Nelson on the Simpsons, you gonna feel away. But if you can't afford what you buying at Kids Foot Locker, how you gonna afford this $250,000 bond you currently got? Tiffany? Usually you gotta pay 10%. Where you getting. Where you getting 25,000 from? Then you gotta pay for a lawyer. Do you know how much a lawyer costs for an assault with intent to murder charge charge? Not to mention felonious assault and assault with intent to do great bodily harm? AI Overview told me this morning that a lawyer for an assault with intent to murder charge in Michigan can cost anywhere from 20 grand to over 65, depending on the case's complexity and the attorney's experience. Larger firms may charge 45 to 65. Boutique firms might charge 20 to 40, especially if the goal is a plea negotiation. Hourly rates for Michigan lawyers can range from approximately 159 to 440. 42. And they want to upfront retainer fee. All I'm simply saying is you got a lot of heavy charges, so you're gonna have to spend a lot of heavy money that you do not have. Tell me, how can you afford that when your car just got declined that kid's foot locker. You have to think before you make decisions. Life is about choices. Every decision, big or small, shapes your identity and future. There's no reason you go from card getting declined to attempted murder. But I'm gonna tell you something. This is why in this area era, you really, really got to practice kindness. Because folks is going through it, man. She didn't stab this woman because her car was declined. She stabbed this woman because she was fed up, okay? She just in there trying to get some shoes for her kids, you know, And. And the woman she stabbed said she wasn't even the one clowning her. So that lets me know Tiffany was just hurt and in pain, and she wanted to project that hurt and pain on whoever was in her proximity. Okay? I want you all, all to be the kind of person who gives respect to the broke like they're already rich. What a matchup we got, y'. All. This is that classic HBCU vibe. Non stop action. The band is rocking and the crowd lit. Chance echo drum beat. Everybody showing that school pride. Game like this. Yeah, it calls for an ice cold Coca Cola. Ah, crisp and refreshing. That's a game changer right there. Yeah, that taste always hits the right note. Just like the band at halftime. And just like that, we're back at it. Passionate fans, school colors everywhere, and an ice cold Coca Cola. That's a winning combo no matter the sport, no matter the yard. Everybody knows fan work is thirsty work. Kentucky went unsolved until a local homemaker, a journalist and a handful of girls came forward with a story. I'm telling you, we know Quincy killed her. We know a story that law enforcement used to convict six people and that got the citizen investigator on national tv. Through sheer persistence and nerve, this Kentucky housewife helped give justice to Jessica Occur. So we not gonna talk about the kitchen knife. I was gonna ask that. Yo, yo. But it's the fact that the girl who got stabbed. Dad still didn't want the lady to suffer any consequences to be taken away from her children. She said she. About the press charges. I thought I heard to say that she is. But she said she's conflicted by it. But the. The girl she stabbed isn't even the girl who was teasing her. She probably do. She probably do feel sorry for her situation. I can understand that. She just snapped. Who walks around with a kitchen knife? Somebody who. Somebody that's waiting to snap like. Or somebody who can't afford a gun or somebody who don't have a real knife and they know they going into. They might. That mall might be dangerous. I don't know. Tell me. Michigan. Michigan, y' all tell me what is this Is this mall she was in dangerous. I don't know. You. You play a game? No, I don't actually. Oh, my God. You don't want to play again? No, I really don't. Leave me alone. The chat won't play a game. No, they don't. Ain't nobody in the chat said nothing. The chat said they want to play a game. The chat did not say they want to play a game. Ain't nobody in the chat saying that. Yeah, exactly. The chat actually is saying. No, we don't see. Let's play a game. Let's play a game. I want to play. I want to play. All right, fine. You don't want to play a game, go play solitaire. All right. Now. But let's open up the phone lines. 800-585-1051. What are some trigger words that will make you snap? Now, we recently had a guest appear that broke was another trigger word that damn near made him snap. What is the trigger word that makes me snap? Nothing, Sean. Nothing for you. You might be right. Like for Lauren. Lauren. I was. What do you think Lauren should. Lauren Sugarberg might be wigged. No, no, no, Ashy. Lauren is actually very cool. Comic collected. Lauren don't let too much bother her. I'm be honest. Like, I. I ain't seen Lauren let too much bother her, to be honest with you. Yeah, I know you. I got a bunch for you. I got a long list of trigger words for envy. I know. I've been working with him for 15 years. I know exactly what to say to get him going. 800-585-1051. Let's talk trigger words that piss you off that'll make you snap. 800-585-1051 is the breakfast Club. Good morning, the Breakfast Club. It's topic time. Call 800-585-1051 to join into the discussion with the Breakfast Club. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Charlamagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Now, if you're just joining us, Charlamagne gave donkey today. To who? A young woman named Tiffany Williams. She's from the Michigan area. Tiffany Rose Williams. She was in kids Foot Locker and her car declined and somebody called her broke and she went off and ended up stabbing somebody. Now she's charged with attempted murder. Yeah, they called her Brokie and she. She got busy. So we're asking what are some trigger words that really piss you off? So we asked the chat, right? And I think the chat responded with my trigger word is family. You know you play with my family. Yeah, I think people know you play my family. I'm enjoying. I'm going jump. I'm confused, though, because I guess trigger words and triggering situations are different, right? If somebody plays with Envy. Family, yes. But I mean, most people are going to react in. In that way. You can't just say family and then be going to turn into the, you know, the beige rage, incredible green hulk. You know what I mean? But they say, like, they said Jessica got some, too. They said just trigger words are big stud. No, it's not. I love that they said calling. I ain't reading these. Somebody said, Charlotte don't like the word cheating. That's not true. Like, y' all be saying that, but we talk about that because we have learned from our mistakes. Yo, but you know, Envy, you don't like housing. You don't. You don't. Damn. Damn. I don't mind that. Okay. I don't mind somebody in the chat just because somebody always trying to be funny or smart. So it's like, nah, that don't bother me. Somebody in the chat said, I hate being told how I feel. That is. That. That is something when somebody be like, you mad. Yeah, I know. Yo, I hate that. So mad. Cause you know you are, but you don't really want nobody else telling you that. Somebody said, Charlotte's trigger is Dame Dash. It's not, though. They said, Jess trigger is trans women. They damn. Damn. That's right. That's true. They ain't even say that. They a say that. No, they all say that. No, it's. It's more of a trigger when somebody calls me that. Not just them, period. Like, when somebody. When. When one of them called me me, that. That's a trigger for me. Like, shut up. I will tell y'. All. The last time I was actually triggered, the last time I was actually triggered, somebody. Somebody that I've been waiting to see, to have a conversation with, came up to me and accused me of saying something anonymous about them online, like. Like basically creating a fake page and leaving a comment about them. And I was so true triggered that this person would think I was such a sucker that I would get online to make an anonymous page to say something about them, as if I haven't been waiting to see this person and say what I needed to say to their face. So that just really made me go off. Like, I. I mean, I. Yeah, it was that. It was bad. Like, it was. It was bad. So you got triggered because somebody basically called you a sucker? Yes, because it's like, you know, I've been waiting to see this person and say what I needed to say to them because I love conflict. That's my problem. I actually like talking to people face to face. So when this person said to me, accused me of making an anonymous page to say something about them, really, I couldn't believe. I was like, you really think I'm that much of a sucker that I would make an anonymous page as opposed to saying what I see. So now I gotta prove something to you and. And me. So now I got to tell you everything. I got to tell you exactly how I feel about you in this moment. Calm down, man. I can tell you tr. That was just September. I'm still decompressing. Hello? Who's this? Ramir Ron. What? What? What's the trigger? The word that bothers you, bro. You know what would get me when I'm. When I'm talking, it could be a woman. But when I'm talking to my baby mom and she say, oh, you said sassy. Oh, I be hot. You. You what? Oh, you sassy. Sassy. Wow. Damn. Yo, come on, King sassy can't be your trigger, bro. Cuz it's like I'm sassy, cuz you saying something to me, and now I said something back. Now you. You got no sassy, bro. You see, sassy is a funny word, depending who it come from. If a. If a straight man call another straight man sassy. That's crazy. Yeah, that. Yeah. Cause you might as well just go ahead and call me the 90s gay. Slurp. Damn. Hello? Hello? Who's this? Hello? Hey, what's your name? Get him, Gab. Get him, Gab. Get him, Gabs. Get him, Gab. I'm calling from South Carolina. I'm from Utahville. Hey, what's up, Utah Ville? What's happening? So my trigger word is like, attitude. I don't like when people say I got an attitude. Attitude. Like, I got a RBF face all the time. Do you be having an attitude, though? No, I don't. Like, you said something to me. I'm smiling. But I hate when you say I got an attitude. Like, I don't got an attitude. You sound like you got an attitude. You do sound like you got attitude. I find a little bit aggressive right now because, like, I'm having a good morning. Like, I'm good. But I was thinking about it when I heard y' all, like, my period attitude. I hating people, So I got an attitude. Somebody talking about I ain't never Heard of Utah Bill? I damn sure I heard of Utah Bill. My cousin married a woman from Utah Bill. What you talking about? 800-585-105. And they probably be having attitudes. What's a trigger word that pisses you off? 800-585-1051 is the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Charlemagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. If you're just joining us, we're asking, what is a trigger word that. That really pisses you off? All right, this comes from Charlemagne's donkey today. Who you gave Charlemagne a donkey to? Charlamagne? Tiffany Rose Williams. She was in a kid's Foot Locker, and her credit card got declined, and somebody in the store called her broke, so she ended up stabbing people and. Or stabbing a person, and that person, you know, got stabbed, and she's been charged with attempted murder. Jesus. So we're asking, what's your trigger word? Hello? Who's this? Hey, this is Tasha. Hey, Tassel, what's your trigger word that pissed you off? Hey, it called calm down. I don't like when people tell me to calm down. That means you be getting too height. Especially if I'm already calm now. You want me to take it there? What part of Charles. What part of Charleston you calling from? I'm calling from Louisiana. Oh. Oh, I knew all. Okay, I hear it. I hear. I know I heard something. I heard either the. The. Okay, I hear it. Okay. Somebody in the chat agrees with you. Hey, girl. Yeah? People in the chat agree with you. They say, calm down or relax. They said relax. Really relax? The worst. Yes. Don't tell me that, because I am calm. Calm. Now you want me to not be calm. And by the way, even if I'm not calm, let me feel my feels. Let me get this out real quick, okay? You know what I'm saying? Let me. Yeah, let me get it out. That's what my therapist said. My therapist said, get it out. Express your feelings. Let me get it out real quick. Okay. All right. Damn. Somebody on the chat said, just trigger is Mexican. Wow, ain't nobody say that. How is that a trigger? Like, shut up, y'. All. Exactly. Why you going off? Why you mad, right? Right now? Relax, Jess. Hello. Calm down. Yo, this your boy Bren out of Jacksonville, Florida. Hey, what's up, brother? What's your trigger word? So it's not so much as a word more than it's referencing my child. You bring up the kid, and it's over. Yeah, that's family. That's Same with me. Yeah, I get it. I'll jump the family. Absolutely. I'm telling you, we. We could be at a funeral. Anything. You invoke the name of my child. There's nothing. And I got more than the kitchen knife. But see, we gotta. We gotta. We gotta have emotional. A high emotional iq, man. You know what I'm saying? You can't react to everything. That's true. And I think people know those are the trigger words, so they always go to it. You know, somebody in the chat said, my trigger is bleach. I'm gonna be honest with y', all, man, and it's gonna sound crazy. I really be wanting to feel sometimes like I really like none of this stuff. None of this stuff bothers me in no way, shape, or perform. Hello? Who's this? It's Lydia. Lydia. Lydia. What's your trigger word? I'm from Houston. My trigger word is sweetie. I don't like young girls calling me sweetie. Oh, okay. They can't. Yeah, that doesn't fly with me. Good morning, y'. All. I'm sorry. What about grown men? No, neither one of them. It's just always been like that with me. I don't know why that triggers me, but it does. Especially the young ones when they 30 and they call sweetie because they don't. Yeah, they don't fly. Well, thank you for calling. I'm better now since I'm older, though. Thank you for calling sweetie. All right. Thank you, sweetie. She about to go crazy. Hey, somebody in the chat says, Charlemagne Trigger is popular. People, when somebody like one person too much, get mad. What? That should be Drake. That's a trigger word. Drake. Yo, Drake is. Yeah, that's funny. No, that ain't a trigger, but I do be like, all right, now, y' all glitch blazing a little too much. Everybody back away from the now. All right? It's only one saddle. You can't say right. Damn. Because sometimes, man, people be wanting to saddle up on one person too much. Stop all that D riding, man. Relax. Jesus Christ. What's the moral of the story? The moral of the story is control your triggers, man. Y' all need therapy. That's the moral of the story. And I hate the chat, man. This chat is crazy. I think it's hilarious. Y' all are crazy. I think it is hilarious. Oh, my God. But you know what? One good way to control your triggers, all joke aside, you. You got to practice, like, you know, grounding techniques. Like, you got to do deep breathing and, like, before you react, just pause sometime like, no, we don't pause like. Like, when you hear something, just be like, yeah, yeah. What you mean by that? You know what I'm saying? Just think. Just let it process in your head for a little bit. And always do your jail math. I'm trying to tell you, your jail math will keep you out of jail. They said Breakfast Club production team is your trigger. Oh, my God. You're right, but that's not a word he said. You're right, but that's not a word. You're right. That is definitely a word. Oh, my goodness. All right, when we come back, we got the latest with Lawrence. So don't go anywhere. It's the Breakfast Club. Somebody said ctg. You need to pause more. No, I actually think before I speak. That's the problem. Ladies, with Lawrence, next is the Breakfast Club. Good morning. The Breakfast Club. She gets them from somebody that knows somebody. I'm the homegirl that knows a little bit about everything. She'd be having the latest on the Latest with Lauren LaRosa. Sometimes you have facts, sometimes you have details. Sometimes she have a little bit everything. Well, it's the latest on the Breakfast Club. All right, guys, so I want to just really quick mention at the top of the hour that Michael Jackson has now made history. History as the first artist to score Hot 100 top 10 hits in six different decades. So the decades are the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, the 2000s, 2000s, and 2000s. So at the top of 2020, I can't see it never stopping. No, it won't, basically. Especially with Thriller, Halloween time, literally. So the Billboard article that I read that lists out different songs, not all of them, but just some songs and how, you know they've hit certain things is because around Halloween time, a lot of those songs, especially Thriller, upticks like they specifically mentioned Thriller. So you're gonna see this. Thriller is the Halloween with Mariah Carey. All I want for Christmas is the Christmas. Yes, 100. And I'm gonna tell you something. I cannot wait for Michael Jackson's biopic. And the crazy thing about Michael Jackson's biopic, there's gonna be a whole generation of people who gonna watch that biopic and don't believe any of it. Why not? Because. Realize how big he was. Like, everybody likes to compare people to Michael Jackson. There is no Michael Jackson comparison. Nobody. I ain't. Not no Taylor Swift, God bless her. Not no Beyonce, God bless her. Not no NBA young boy, not Chris Brown. None of them. Michael was watching. Yeah, it still Gives you that feeling. The other day I was in here trying to do the moonwalk because I just had seen it. What I don't know, you know. You understand Michael Jackson is one of the most famous people that ever lived, period. I'm talking about like it's like two Jesus, Michael Jackson. Like I'm. I'm not even joking. You go. You can go look at list that show that like is. He was different Jesus and then Michael Jackson. No, no, actually it might be Michael. No, you better stop it. But I. Jesus ain't never had no album. I don't think there's anybody bigger. Michael Jackson like the Bible ain't the biggest. The Bible slaps girl. New York Times bestseller. No. World's best selling all day. IMDb says Walt Disney is number one. Michael Jackson is number two as one the most famous. World's most famous people. There's a bunch of different lists. Nobody know like that. Yeah, maybe Disney World, but I think Michael Jackson bigger than Disney World. Yeah, maybe Mickey Mouse, but not Walt. My Mickey ain't got nothing to do with Mike. Michael shut Mickey down right now. Absolutely. Well, I. You done? Okay, great. I just wanted to move on. Well, in other news, speaking of famous people. Generation do. Michael. No, I just got. We got a lot to get to in this hour. We didn't spend a lot of time. You can go if you want to. I'm try to reminisce. Okay. Well, in other news, speaking of famous people. So yesterday. Well, no, let's do this. So Mario and Omaran. There is not been a back and forth is. But now there actually is one. So y' all remember Mario was on Funky Friday with Kim Newton and he was asked who can sing? Who can't sing. Right, Right. And he talked a bit about Mario. Let's take. I mean about Omarion. Let's take a listen to Mario on Omarion on Cam Newton. I said every singer can't sing. I will give you a list of artists and you will say if they can or can't. All right, cool. Omarion, it be hit or miss for me sometimes. Bobby Valentino. He can sing. Last but not least, Chris Brown. He can sing. Yes. So Omarion was on Sway's Universe with Sway, Heather B, Tracy G. And he was. Was asked about, you know that comment and if he would do music with Mario at this point. Let's take a listen. Well, I enjoyed the verses. I know that was a long time ago that you and Mario did. Since then, a lot of just that kind of turbulence has come up But I dare say, man, we're entering a whole new age. It's better that we work together than work divided. Under those circumstances, would you ever be willing to do work with him? You know, I'm not sure. I don't. I don't think think so. Okay. I don't think so. You know, I think that for me, it's all about respect. You know, I think you can have your opinion, but, you know, the moment I feel like there's no respect there. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I'm cool. I rather step back. I don't think. I don't think it's. I don't think it's respect there. Okay. You know what I'm saying? Especially for somebody like me that has been doing it, but before him. That one question has caused a lot of fallout. But. But I understand what he's saying, though. I understand what he's saying. I get it. Like. Like, don't play with me, man. That's what I do. Even if I can't sing to you. Like. You know what I'm saying? I don't know. Because. Because Cameron Mario was being funny. I watched the whole thing. They. It was why, while it's still his opinion. And, you know, all of that people's voices are subjective. Like, you can. You can clearly see that they playing. Playing, too. Like, they. They really playing around. Michael Jackson sold a hundred million records, y'. All. Oh, you back to mj. Because, I mean, I think the point that we're gonna. They never gonna get there. That was good, Justin. No, I'm just saying Michael, I already know. Heavy. Thank you. Thank you. Y' all know what Charlemagne be on. Every time we bring up, like, a Michael Jackson or whatever, he always be like, y' all don't know celebrity. Y' all ain't never seen real celebrities. He do. And I get it. Just everybody but, like, what are we going to do? MJ was just different. We're doing the best we can with what we got. MJ was just different. I'm looking at a top 10 most famous people of all time list. They got Jesus number one and Michael Jackson number two. Why you glazing MJ this morning? Yeah, okay. I saw while they tweet this, and y', all you just mentioned some of these people. He was saying how fire it is that in every. And a lot of these new generations, they're comparing people to Michael Jackson. Because then we have to have this conversation about how. How famous and how successful Michael Jackson actually was in a new generation because they didn't know, right. They didn't know the impact that Michael Jackson had. So there how we speak about Michael Jackson, they look at a. I guess. Have y' all seen the trailer for the biopic? Yes. Yes, we did. Yes, of course. Oh, it's gonna be great. His nephew gonna kill it. Uhhuh. 100. I can't wait to see it. So. Oh, this is a positive way to end the. The hour. So Tyrese. Tyrese is working with Reach Out Worldwide, which is an organization that was created by Paul Walker, and they are currently, you know, getting together a ton of different supplies. And he told me it's a huge warehouse. Like, it's like a huge warehouse. They're filling up this warehouse, and then they're going to be flying a cargo plane over to Jamaica to bring some supplies there. And he wanted us to let people know that it's happening. I have an address where you can send some things to as well. Let's take a listen to Tyrese. He's on an air airline or he's on the plane with one of a woman from Jamaica who's helping them organize the efforts. And he's doing this also with Mona Scott. Let's take a look. We're at capacity and we need everybody to go to roww.org reach out worldwide and donate so that we can load up a cargo plane. And you know a lot of people with private planes. Because you're a flight attendant, right? Yes, I am. And there's some people that could also donate their plane to get some type of effort, efforts over to Jamaica, your country, where you're from. So listen, people, donate if you can. As you guys know, Jamaica has gone through something very catastrophic. Melissa has really done a number on us, and so every little bit counts right now. Thankful that Tyrese is coming and bringing attention to this, but this is like so extensive that it's just not even about this moment. It's something that's going to be over time. So we'd just like for you guys to just also lock in with him, stay abreast of what's happening, not just here, but on the ground. And just think of all the ways in which you could help. It's the day to day stuff and also the very big things. Money, prayers, donations, and just spreading awareness. I don't have nothing to say. Thank you. By the way, the accent is magic. Salute to Tyrese. Dropping a clues bomb to Tyrese. Yeah. And I also wanted to mention here too, that I saw SZA is doing 100 meals a day for families with. With John and Vinnie's as well. I saw that. And she's doing that from November 11th through the 18th. And that address, if you guys want to support. He says the address to the warehouse in Miami where you can send things is 377 Northwest 170th street in Miami, Florida. And all this information you can find on the RW website that he mentioned as well too. I love it. Also, I want to say one thing. I want y' all to know that when you talk about these celebrities who you all think, think have gotten conspired against and you know, you know, just a plan to bring them down and putting allegations against him. Michael Jackson is one of those people. I absolutely. You believe that theory that happened to 100 because Michael owned half of Sony ATV Music Publishing. What? They sure did. Okay. No way. Ain't no one black man, regardless of what man his skin did later on in life. No, he can't have all that power. You mentioned that, that trailer too, they broke the record. So they did that trailer, just the views at 1 116.2 million views. Within 24 hours, they beat out Taylor Swift and Bob Marley, who held a record. I can't wait to see it.
