But it was dope. But traveling back was very difficult. Lines were crazy. A lot of delays. Yesterday I didn't get. I didn't land until midnight last night because all the delays. But. And like I said, if you have to travel or you're going anywhere, I know spring break is this week and next week and right around the corner, give yourself a lot of extra time because the airports are serious. And if you don't have the pre check, the clear, touchless and all that stuff, give yourself even more time because it's gonna take you a long time to get through pre check and all that good stuff.

Why do these kids have two weeks off of spring break? I don't remember having them kind of breaks when we was kids. Me, I don't even remember getting no spring break.

into Temple Israel, then drove down a hallway inside the building before armed security confronted the suspect. Let's listen.

him conducting this act of terrorism, he stated Allah Akbar. There were students that were in that

room that subdued him and rendered him no longer alive.

And also I just want to send love and healing energy to the 757. GIA actually went to Old Dominion. She graduated from Old Dominion. Of course. You know, I went to Hampton, which is literally 15 minutes up the road. And we, my nephew goes there now. So very, very scary. Very, very scary. And I'm glad they said the ROTC students are the ones that subdued them and held him down. So again, sending healing energy and prayers to everybody out in the 757.

Right, exactly. So that was the, that was actually the sound bite for the Virginia School for Old Dominion too. Just to wrap up what happened in Michigan. The security guard, they opened fire, they killed the suspect. But the officials say that it was a Lebanese born man who later became a U.S. citizen who, you know, who rammed his car into that church. And then when we get to Virginia and Old Dominion University, that one is being, you know, investigated as a possible terrorist attack. Police say that that man, as you just mentioned, envy, walked into that ROTC class right before 11am the instructor was shot multiple times and the two students were wounded. There is some witness sound from students. Let's listen to that.

All of a sudden we heard a commotion. A lot of people rumbling, starting to get up. We started running and that's when we heard gunshots.

[Jordan Carlos]

And all of a sudden I hear like just a bunch of bodies hitting each other, like this loud altercation. And there's just like a person in a tan coat curled up on the ground with their backpack on in front of the Starbucks, just laying there.

[Mimi Brown]

Yeah. So the FBI, they have and identify the suspect as 36 year old Muhammad Jailo. I think that's how you say his last name. But he was a former Virginia National Guard. Officials say that he was previously convict providing support to ISIS. He served eight years in federal prison. He was released in 2024 under supervised release. And so investigators now, at this point, they're trying to figure out how a convicted felon was able to obtain a firearm and if there were any warning signs before that, they could have maybe stopped this. So classes are canceled again today as investigators continue to look into what happened at Old Dominion University.

Once again, why do you want to prove people right? You make it hard for every single Muslim in this country when you do things like that for everybody out, you know, anti Muslim for whatever reason, and then things like this happen, you just put more fuel on their fire.

Yeah, for sure. And really quickly now to the war in Iran with new developments overnight. The Pentagon says a U.S. military refueling aircraft, it crashed in Iraq, triggering a rescue effort that is still underway this morning. Officials say two tankers, they were flying together when one went down. The other aircraft, it landed safely. But the crash plane, it likely had three to five crew members on board, and there were no ejection seats on that aircraft. The Pentagon says the crash was not caused by a hostile fire, but the cause is still under investigation. And meanwhile, Iran's new supreme leader says the attacks will continue, including that pressure that we've been seeing on the Strait of Hormuz. And so, as tensions continue to rise, of course gas prices will continue to climb. I know we've been talking earlier this week, I think we said 30 cents, 50 cents. It is now at 70 cents per gallon since the war began.

So salute to everybody who's gonna be using high gas prices as an excuse not to cut the grass. Like, if I was younger, you know how you. I never used to want to cut grass when I was young. I'd be like, man, gas too expensive, you know?

They denied that, you know, this was a staged event. They also say that the plan that Kim Kardashian, any plan that is alle Kim Kardashian had with Kris Jenner to release the sex tape and defraud the public or is, is fake. And that there was, I guess, some rumors too, that they were going to file a fake lawsuit against the porn company that released it, and this is all a lie. And they said this was just done to create buzz. Now I said they both have to

And he says that they've done the worst thing that they can ever do. He is still claiming that he sat in a room with Chris and Kim as Andy executives from Vivid Entertainment, who distributed this sex tape that we just talked about to discuss the deal. And he's alleging that Vivid has always maintained that they obtained a sex tape from a third party and that him and Kim were paid $400,000 each. So for three sex tapes, he claims two that were made in Cabo and one that was made in Santa Barbara. And he says that for the Santa Barbara tape, Chris told him allegedly, that to shoot the tape and to make it dirtier than the one that was shot in Cabo.

So even though they have to show up for work now, we talked about this. It is all tied to that partial government shutdown. Democrats say they want changes to ice. Republicans say that their demands go too far. But in the meantime, more than 300 TSA agents have quit since the shutdown began. Some of those unscheduled absences have more than doubled, leading to those long lines and delays that you were talking about in the last hour. Envy when you were traveling yesterday. And so airports, they are warning people to arrive now up to five hours early for their flight. If you don't have any of those pre checked or tsa. It was a TSA pre check or touchless or clear.

Yeah, touchless pre check. Yeah. Yeah, you're gonna be waiting for.

But because of all of this, they have reopened the Global Entry program. So if you're flying overseas, they have. It was briefly closed during the shutdown. They have now reopened the Global Entry program.

And so something unusual happening this weekend at the FBI Training Academy Academy. So professional fighters from UFC Championship, they will be training FBI agents this weekend, Saturday and Sunday at the bureau's academy in Quantico. Officials say the fighters will demonstrate combat techniques and explain how they prepare for a physical confrontation. So FBI Director Cash Patel, he says that running the training could help agents be better prepared in dangerous situations. But former agents, they are questioning whether professional fighting tactics belong in federal law enforcement training.

So I. I think this is one of those ones where they making something out of nothing. Because, I mean, if you're in the FBI, you getting trained anyway. Like, you're getting trained in, like, tactical skills and firearm training anyway. So what's the problem with bringing some UFC fighters who we know are professional fighters who train mixed martial arts and, you know, defensive tactics? What's wrong with bringing them in to teach the FBI how to do some of that?

I don't see a problem with it, especially if it, you know, if instead of them using their gun, they could use that and possibly people not die.

Well, that will go down this weekend in Quantico, so agents there will get some extra training. And now to Florida, where a situation at a high school near Tallahassee is raising eyebrows. So, a school district is under investigation after two separate incidents involving teachers accused of using the N word at Madison County High School. So one of those incidents was captured on video by a student and quickly spread on social media. Now, in the video, a teacher appears to use the slur while speaking with students in the classroom. That one I can't take credit for. The clip has gone viral, so someone, maybe someone you know, they added the music to it. But school officials say that that teacher was removed from the classroom, reassigned to the district office, and later placed on administrative leave with pay while the investigation continues. But that investigation is still ongoing, and the district says that a final outcome could come soon. But that is not the only incident. So school records show a second teacher, a history teacher named Zachary Peterson, admitted to using the N word during a parent teacher conference. And the meeting was about student discipline issues. And during that conversation, investigators say Peterson repeated the slur while defending his position that the word could be used in historical context. So according to the district's report, Peterson told investigators that a former administrator had given him permission to use the word if it appeared in historical curriculum or like a primary source of teaching materials. So there are also allegations that he may have used the word during a classroom discussion connected to Black History Month. He was not suspended or fired. I think this is where the outrage is coming from. Because he was not suspended or fired, the district allowed him to return to the classroom, which has become a major anger point for parents. Let's listen.

classroom because once again, it proves to the students that the school system has failed them once again. To see that, because however you look

I don't like when they use the historical context argument. I think it's worse when you use it in historical context. You know what I mean? Because when you use it in historical context, it was definitely used as a Slurpee to demean people. So there's no need to say it. Even like, you know, like if you're reading something like Huckleberry Finn, you don't have to read the word. You can say the N word. You don't have to say the word in Huckleberry Finn. We know, because that's the book they always point to a lot of times when they say they're using it in curriculum.

Yeah. Well, the school meeting was held this week about it. An NAACP leader who attended that meeting says the community is now considering asking the state of Florida to open its own investigation into how the district handles the these types of incidents. Yeah. For real. Like. Like that's what it did. It's. I mean, it's crazy when I, when I sat down, because writing a book, as you know, as you know, like, takes deep meditative thought and you really self reflect and you see yourself in the mirror and there's no getting away from it. So that's what it. That's what it really was. It just. Oh, man, I had to think deeply. I looked up like, invisible work. Let me just mansplain invisible work to y' all real quick. I'm just kidding. But like, people don't know what it is. It's that work that my mom put in that my grandmother put in, like, taking care. My mom taking care of my grandmother while she held down a job. And you know, like, my dad, great guy, but didn't contribute in the ways that he maybe could have and stepped up and that's. I mean, that kind of thing, like learning about that learning about executive function and what women go through all the time was so, like, my eyes are open.

Women are better cleaners.

so much. But I clean. But my brother is so much more organized.

you know, and it's like, the boys are always. The game is on, right? So it's like hunting.

I'm sorry, but no, no, you're fine. But no, that's not all men, though, because my dad, when I grew up, I grew up in a house. My dad was the one who cleaned. My mom cooked. She did, you know, they both made the home, you know, but my dad ocd, like, anything out of place. He fixing it. He's, like, wiping down countertops, you know, so that doesn't go for, you know, all men.

I heard you say that this book saved your marriage. Were you. Was she on the way out the door? Like you were about to lose her? Because you also. It's also like a testament to knowing what you got.

It's gone.

Yes, yes. Before you lose it. I mean, this is what happened, right? So Covid happened. We were busy. Before COVID Before COVID Geico was popping. Everything was going on, and then everything stopped. And when the tide goes out, you see the rocks, right? And that's. That's what happened. I was at home. I was not working, but I also was a stranger in my own house because I was not contributing. I was mad that I wasn't working. And. And that was like, I Was like, given into, like. Like, man child vibes and things like that. And my. My wife was no longer having it, right. Because I was not contributing to the household. And so, like, with that said, I. There was also another divorce that happened in our family, and I was like, front row tick. Like, front row seats to that. And I did not want that at all. And it was not because of infidelity, as I wrote in the book. It's because, I mean, it. Studies show that it's commitment. So it was like, he wasn't doing anything. And if you're just, like, an overage child, you're gonna get kicked out of the nest. And that's what happened to him. And I was like, I don't want that at all. What can I do? I was listening to. So it's like, there was nothing dramatic, you know? And that's what really kills a lot of marriages. It's like. It's nothing dramatic. It's just. It's just this kind of meh situation.

[Charlamagne Tha God]

A woman complaining that you're staying in the house and doing nothing during COVID is so selfish.

[Jordan Carlos]

What are you talking about? Talking about you brought me up. You brought me here in good faith, bro. You making us look bad, let me tell you.

It. I mean, it was. Yes, in part it was Covid, but at the same time, I could have translated that into helping out. I was watching my wife pick up laundry, take it upstairs, take it downstairs, watching her do the dishes and everything like that. That, you know, watching her take care of the dog, dusting the corners, watching, watching and just, like, doing nothing. And after a while, that repetition erodes the integrity of a relationship, man. Like, little by little did it. Yeah.

Were you emotionally disconnected, mentally disconnected? Like, how could you just sit, you know, watch her do that? Like, were you going through your own funk of not working? And you were just, like, in a miserable state where you couldn't even help yourself, so how could you help her?

Right? I think I was. I was definitely there, but I was also. I. I stay on ready mode. And that's something I write about in the book is, like, guys are always, like. We're always. We have, like, John Wick fantasies. I'm ready to fight. If she asked me to take the trash out, I'll do it. No problem. It's nothing.

But, like, that's us. That's us. Yeah.

[Jordan Carlos]

Yeah, that's us. But. But. But to be reminded of the thing. I was always being reminded of the thing. So I started reminding myself it was just a small switch. I saw that divorce. I said, this is what the guy was just not doing and not bringing to the table. I was like, okay, let me flip this and just. I know when trash night is. It's Tuesday night. So let me just go do it. You know, like, bring the receptacles back on Wednesday morning. Like, that's. I knew to do that because I seen her do it. So just do it. And like, I cannot tell you, like, there's that Maslow's pyramid of needs, right? And like the basic, Basic needs are taken care of and then you can get to self actualization. But if your basic needs aren't taken care of, then you can't feel safe. Life, right? So that's what I was like. I was ignoring that about her. So when, like, I mean, another part of the book is smashing. So believe me. Which is very. I'm sorry to look at you during that. So anyway, smashing is a big part of the book. But like, But. But she wasn't. She wasn't down to clown as much when the house wasn't in order, right? So I was looking at that, studying that, and that's. People need safety. They need security. Deep down, it's that caveman part of you. And so when that happened, it was

And let me just say this. My situation was unique. I had to quit. Like, that was like a tourniquet. I had to. I had to fix this so I could fix a bigger thing. What would a male do, right? I'm like, I'm gonna change my vibe. That's what I'm gonna do. Okay? So I can't have. I don't get by with charts on the wall and things like that and gold stars, because that's for somebody else's approval. What's my approval matrix? What do I believe in? What's my standard? So that's kind of where it is for me. Like, she. I mean, like, I could watch football if I wanted to, but I'm like, I want to take my kid to Governor's Island. I want to go hiking one Sunday. I don't want to give it more money to Jerry Jones. Like, Jerry's fine. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, you know, he's fine. What am I doing for me, you know? So that's. That's really what it is. It's like, yeah.

How long did it take you to save your marriage? You said it saved your marriage. But, like, how. What was that process like? And how long was it?

To be honest, I would say, like, it took about six months to write things, right? So there was this guy that's famous in the moms group in Brooklyn. His. So he's Canadian, so his suspect, anyway, but he's. So that's why. But we learn a lot from Canadian universal healthcare, you know, all that kind of stuff. So anyway, he. He was famous among the moms. They're like, oh, he was a good guy, Hugh. Oh, he was the best. Like, he makes coffee every morning for his wife. Makes coffee. That's it. One cup. That's it. So I asked him, like, what do you do? You grind the beans? Do you make, like, a latte, Cappuccino, whatever the foam designs.

Like, man. Folgers Crystals. Folgers Crystals. And that's it. The bar is in hell, right? So for that, the man is famous. So I was like, I'm gonna do the same thing. So I did that. Slow hanging fruit. I did the same thing. It was hard to wake up in the morning before my wife, but I did it, and I kept doing it. I did it, like, one day, three days, seven days. I do it like, this is the only morning I couldn't do it.

It took a man from Canada to tell you that the best part of waking up is folding. Jordan, what is going on? A man From Canada after 10 to come take that.

You said you didn't want to just be the fun dad. You wanted to be the responsible part.

Yes, yes. And, but, but my wife wanted that fun too, and I was leaving that out and playing like, a game with, like, against her.

I saw you talk to the New York Times about this too. You were telling them that being a fun dad almost ruined your marriage.

Yesterday I was watching Sterling K. Brown and Ryan Michelle bath his wife on Michelle Obama's podcast, and they were having a conversation about preparing to be empty nesters and how you have to, like, figure out being together again. Can you talk about kind of what? Now your dynamic is with your wife because your kids are still in the house, but you realize you got to be with your partner.

[Jordan Carlos]

Absolutely. So most weekends, like, if she's not gonna go out with her girls, then we will go out together. I love that. You know, we, we look forward to, to like having a night out. Like, my mother in law lives real close to us, so we just drop up.

[Lauren LaRose]

The kids say, y' all got babysitters on deck.

[Jordan Carlos]

Yeah, yeah, you gotta have. You gotta have that.

But she's again, a Brooklyn get. You a Brooklyn person, you know what I'm saying? They got the connect, they got the hookup. So it's like we just do that and then we go out and then like during the week, we try to play hooky. So, like, because I write from home, work from home, and she like, only she has three nights a week of, of teaching. Like, during the day we can be around. So like, we'll go to like, what's the place? Bath house. Which is really great. Yeah, the spa. Get lunch on a Wednesday. Don't like, because we both are home and we have, have. I mean, I'm very fortunate and very blessed that I can just be like, you want to do the spot tomorrow? She's like, yeah, let's do it, you know, or get lunch or whatever. It Is so you got to keep it spicy and chop it up all the time. And if you. And that's. We're preparing ourselves for, for that. I mean, like our kids are 13 and 9. So we got a couple more years, man. It does. How old are your kids?

My oldest is 17. She'll be leaving for college just for.

But then I have a 10 year old, 7 year old and a 4 year old. So, you know, it goes by fast. It does.

It does go by so fast. It goes by real fast. But. But just keeping that spirit alive and keeping like the fun that you have for your kids, even if you divert a little bit, you know what I'm saying? For her, that's what's up. Because we just get resentments and I'm like, you don't deserve that fun. I'm gonna put it over here. You know what I'm saying?

She didn't let me watch the game. I mean, in peace, you know what I mean? But it wasn't about like, like the game is. It's not that. It's just the Cowboys have. It's been a one sided relationship, abusive relationship for so long that I was like, I gotta listen, I gotta do something. I gotta get out. I gotta get out. You know, I check on them, you know?

So I had. That was put on me early. So I was like, like empathetic to that. So, so learning that is. Is definitely. Yeah, it's a certain kind of intelligence, you know, and. And I think we need to up that. Men need to up that completely. We're always told to be cold and stoic and things like that. But you gotta. You gotta go back, way back to when you had like, you. You feel for your person, you know, you have to feel for everybody. But if you feel for your person what they're going through, even on little things. I wrote this book because I read a book about a guy that just didn't put his, like his glass in the sink when his wife would ask him for years. And she divorced him because of that. So just like taking in what people want from you and if you know what makes people upset, then you know what makes them happy. And just doing that thing and putting your. Your. Your arms around it instead of your head around it, I think, like, you'll be much better off, you know.

All right, guys. So at the top of the latest, I have an exclusive to Nipsey Hussles, the. The marathon, the foundation that he has. They participated in the LA Marathon. This is not their first year participating, but they participated this past year. And I got a call from some people at the LA Marathon. And I also talked to the Neighborhood foundation and the LA Marathon. When they reached out to me, they were like, we just wanted somebody to talk about the fact that Nipsey's foundation has been one of the most successful foundations that the LA Marathon has worked with to date, they say. So I've asked them what did that mean? And they're talking about just the impact that they've made, but also personally participants and stuff like that as well too. So the Neighborhood Knit foundation, their rep for them, tells me that this year they had 100 participants. And over half of those participants were new people who signed up. And they started with like 60 participants. The first year they did it, they raised $50,000. But the main talking point in their goal is the fact that they sponsored the bid fees for their runners. They just want to get as many people out there and as many first time runners out there as they can. And the money that was raised, it will be donated and used to fund the renovation of the headquarters as well as furnishing the space that they have and everything that they need to do for their STEM space in their music studio. But I thought that this was just fire to mention the LA Marathon. I reached back out to them and said, can you guys talk to me about what? Like, how does this compare to, you know, other organizations that you guys have worked with in the past? And it's basically like the numbers, like they say, for organization to be within like a second to third year of working with the marathon. You normally only see maybe 10 to 20 participants coming out, if that. And that normally is like a growing number. And they talked about like the money that was raised as well too, and how they were able to come together and do that. So one, to make sure we mentioned them at the Salute.

Okay. Yeah. All right. Now moving on. In other news. So Lauryn Hill, yesterday there was a story that broke that Lauryn Hill is on a payment plan to repay taxes that are old. And this is all after the cancellation of that Fuji's tour that her rep has spoken out and said, says greatly impacted the tourist cash flow, which. It's how we got here. So for background, the new. The New Jersey Division of Taxation filed two liens against Lauryn Hill. So they're talking about unpaid debt of $133,000 or over $133,000, and unpaid debt of over $758,000. And those liens are active to this date. Now, the Lauryn Hill's rep says that Lauryn Hill is complying, that there is a payment plan with the state of New Jersey, so they're going to resolve all of this. But they pointed out. Pointed out that this all happened after the cancellation of a tour which greatly impacted Lauryn Hill's cash flow. So you guys remember she was supposed to do in 2024, that North American leg of the Fugees tour where her prize and Wyclef would get back together. And then it was canceled, like a day before the tour was supposed to happen. And Lauryn Hill made a statement then and said that that's not the reason

why she owes money. She was gonna pay it back. We probably using that money, but that's not the reason she owes money.

Yeah, it's definitely not good. Lauren, remember she went to prison, 2013. 13.

But the. Basically the rep is saying that there was. She already had planned to take care of this, but when that tour happened and everything hit, it put things in a different space for her. But, yeah, so that's what was supposed to happen. It didn't happen. And then Lauryn Hill basically said that the media and the way that they portray her not doing certain things, not showing up on time, impacted ticket sales.

So, yeah, and I saw it's not uncommon. It's not uncommon when you owe money. So when you. When you do owe money, the first thing they do is to take a lean out on your properties.

Whether it's a certain amount of money, I don't know what that amount is. I think it might be like $80,000. And if you don't have the money to pay it off or you don't want to pay it off immediately, they make a payment plan for you to pay it off. That's not uncommon.

When it's up with the irs, it's up. Yeah, you ain't even got to worry about that. You ain't ducking them. You ain't not. You ain't not answering they call you going to pay them. If not, you're going to prison.

They're going to put a lien on you. They're going to take your passport. They're not going to allow you to travel.

Yes. And I want to mention too, that Prize had a lawsuit out against Lauryn Hill and he decided to drop it yesterday. So, yeah, there's that as well. But let's shift gears. I gotta wrap up. Earlier this week, I was listening to the radio. I live in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and I drive back and forth to take my kids to school. And I feel like her going back and forth with Martin, most of that, finding out as an adult that that wasn't even in the script. That was just her going back and forth.

She was a loyal back best friend to our best friend Gina, you know, despite, you know, even though her and Martin had like a love hate relationship, she still was always trying to look out for her best friend.
