DJ Envy

DJ Envy
Record with Megan's crazy.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
If you born in the 1900s, you should be very happy right now.
DJ Envy
Yeah, Juvenile st.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I mean, you got. You got ti out here cooking okay. With let them know you got juvenile out here cooking with that record with Megan thee stallion. But the whole album tough Bradley. Oh, the whole album tough man. And he makes age appropriate music.
DJ Envy
Really? I ain't listening.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Talking. It's called f something and doze off.
DJ Envy
Talking that language.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Come on now, you talking my language. 1900 and something. If you born in 1978 like me, that's it. These days, they just want to have something and doze off. He said, you know, you come home, you know, you don't really want to do nothing much, you know, you just want to kick it with your little one and then. Why are you talking my language? You heard me.
Charlamagne Tha God
Jesus Christ.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
God damn, Julie. I like age appropriate music, okay? I'm 47 years old. I'll be 48 this year. That's age appropriate.
DJ Envy
Yes, it is, right? Yes, it is. All right, well, today on the show from hgtv, rehab addict Nicole Curtis will be joining us.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't like the way you setting this up. Okay, We.
DJ Envy
I was gonna go to the first
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
of all, I gave her a donkey of the day a couple of weeks ago.
DJ Envy
Right.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She is the white woman who was doing some renovations on the house.
DJ Envy
Correct.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And for whatever reason, decided to yell out fart. Fart n word.
DJ Envy
Yes, yes.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yelled out fart n word. And she heard me give her a donkey of the day.
DJ Envy
Yes.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And her people reached out to actually, Lauren LaRosa.
DJ Envy
Correct.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And I don't know why she decided that she wanted to come on breakfast club talk about this situation.
DJ Envy
She said I guess you wanted to clear air.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Don't. Okay.
DJ Envy
Okay. So
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't know what she expects to gain.
DJ Envy
Okay. But we're going to talk to her in a little bit also. Now, yesterday you said. I guess I was gonna say retrograde. Mercury was in retrograde. Right.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Mercury's in Gatorade.
DJ Envy
And you said you was off, and you said it was a shift and you wasn't feeling right.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Well, Saturday night I was at a play with my daughter and my wife. And, yes, I just felt like an energy shift. And, you know, when I started talking to people about it, they started telling me about, well, time moved forward. I'm like, nah, I felt this Saturday evening. Then people was like, well, Mercury's in retrograde. I. I don't know what it is. I just know that on Saturday evening, I felt some type of energy shift that had me off for the last 48 hours. I'm just actually back getting. Getting a little right now.
DJ Envy
Now, I asked you what his name was, and you said shut up. And now you come in with your wrist wrapped up. So you went ham on him last night, huh? You went ham on him last night.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't understand why you want to use gay as a joke.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm not.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't get it.
DJ Envy
I'm. I'm asking.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
It's kind of weird. Like, you know, I came in here talking about juvenile and effing something and dozing off. Well, you can't. We talked about Nic Curtis, and then you're just brain.
DJ Envy
I'm just asking, what's wrapping your wrist?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I want to know why is penis on your brain at 6:03 in the morning? Like, why is that a thought of yours?
DJ Envy
I'm just asking, what happened to your wrist?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Is there any. Is there a reason?
DJ Envy
Did you go ham last night?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Is there something you want to explore? I don't want to explore anything, no. But everybody listening. Y' all don't think at 6:04 in the morning. This man ain't even had breakfast yet, and he automatically thinking about me with another man. I'm just asking you a lot about you.
DJ Envy
Your arm is a little. Your hand is a little. I'm just asking if you went ham last night.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
He says a lot about it. You are from Queens, you big old queen. Yo, shut up, man.
DJ Envy
Let's get the show cracking, man. You want to start off with the juvenile record?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yes, I do. BBB with Megan. Thee stallion on the album is a young lady named Genesis. To God, though. But we'll discuss. I'm sure Juvia will be here at some point this week.
DJ Envy
Really?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yes.
DJ Envy
All right, Mr. Breakfast Club. Good morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy, Chess, hilarious Charlamagne, the guy we are the Breakfast Club. That was juvenile.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And Megan, thee stallion juvie, said, got your lipstick all over my Dior sweater. You want your hair pulled in your ass back real hard, you gonna find out effing with a whole. Make that age appropriate music. Damn it. That's what I'm talking about. Okay.
DJ Envy
Oh, my goodness. Mimi, why are you laughing so hard? Let's get some front page news. What's up, Mimi?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Peace, Mimi.
Mimi Brown
Good morning, everyone. How y' all doing this morning?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
That's black and highly favored.
Mimi Brown
Good morning. Okay, so we begin this morning with an update on the war in Iran and some mixed signals from President Trump on how soon this conflict could end. So at a news conference yesterday, the president said US Military objectives against Iran are, quote, pretty well complete and suggested the war could end very soon. But in that same breath, he also said the United States hasn't won enough and warned that more strikes could happen. Let's listen to some of that press conference on Iran.
Jessalarius
You called it an excursion.
Nicole Curtis
You said it would be over soon.
Mimi Brown
Are you thinking this week it will be over days?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I think so.
Mimi Brown
Okay.
DJ Envy
And with respect, very soon.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You know, you could look at that statement. We could, we could call it a
DJ Envy
tremendous success right now as we leave here. I could call it.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Or we could go further. And we're going to go further.
DJ Envy
The big risk on that war has
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
been over for three days. We wiped them out.
DJ Envy
The first in the first two days. So the rest is going to be
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
determination as to my attitude along with the people in the Trump administration, what we want to do. It's amazing how predictable he is. I mean, there's been people that have been saying for the past three or four days that he was going to declare victory and have to pull out because there's really no other way to escalate. There's no other way other than escalation. That's just going to be very, very bad.
Mimi Brown
Yeah, well, even though he said that, you know, meanwhile on the ground, the fighting is still continuing. U.S. and Israeli forces, they carried out new attacks inside Iran, hitting military basins, bases, weapons depot and oil storage facilities. Video from the capital, it shows massive fires, everything basically on fire. The roads on fire, streets, trees, everything. And so the war, it is now creating a major disruption in global oil supply. So much of that concern, it centers around the Strait of Hormuz. It's that narrow shipping lane where about 20% of the world's oil it passes through every day. And right now, shipping traffic through that route, it has dropped shortly and by some estimates as much as 95% since the war began. And so that disruption is pushing gas prices here in the United States much higher. I know we talked about it being 30 cents earlier in the week. It is now up roughly 50 cents more since. Yeah, since the war began. And the U.S. navy says it may begin escorting oil tankers through that strait to protect them. But there's still no timeline yet of when that could happen. Now, meanwhile, the president, at that same press conference, he was asked about possible Iranian sleeper cells inside the United States. Let's listen to what he had to say about that.
DJ Envy
They've been trying for a long time. We've been very much on top of it. One of the things we have to
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
do is get the Democrats to stop the Democrat shutdown, because, as you know, the apparatus that looks into that, Schumer and the Democrats have shut it down,
DJ Envy
which tells you they probably hate our country a lot.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
But we've got very, very good intelligence into that. We know a lot of different things
DJ Envy
that have happened that have been very bad. A lot of them came in during
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
the Biden open border period.
DJ Envy
We're watching every single one of them. Yeah, we know a lot about them.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
But the shutdown doesn't allow us to do what we have to do.
Mimi Brown
Yeah, he's referring to that partial government shutdown for the Department of Homeland Security. And while the fighting is happening thousands of miles away, of course, that impact is being felt here in the United States, both in security, security concerns, as we just heard, and what drivers are paying for in gas. And meanwhile in Washington, President Trump, he is also making a major push on a voting bill he says must pass immediately. We've been talking about this as well, the Save America Act. The president now says that he will not sign any other legislation until Congress approves that same bill, the Save America act out. That bill would require people to prove US Citizenship when registering to vote and show voter photo ID when casting a ballot in federal elections. Trump is urging lawmakers to expand the measure. He's adding new limits on that, including limits to mail in ballot and a provision that now bans transgender individuals from competing in women's sports. Now, supporters say that this bill will protect elections and prevent fraud. But Democrats, they are calling it Jim Crow 2.0 and arguing that it will make it harder for Americans to vote. Now, this measure, it has passed the House, but It is now stalled in the Senate and it will likely need Democratic support to move forward. Let's listen to some of the president on that.
DJ Envy
So in order to get it, you're
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
going to need Democrat votes.
DJ Envy
We want voter id when a voter.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
We want to be able to see
DJ Envy
a picture of the vote.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
We want to be able to see that the voter is legitimate.
DJ Envy
We want, very importantly, confirmation that this
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
voter is a citizen of the United States of America. And we want no mail in ballot scams.
DJ Envy
We've added two things to it. No men in women's sports and no transgender. And the only one opposed to it
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
is Democrat leadership because they cheat.
DJ Envy
And we're going to have to fight like hell. But we don't have a country if
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
we're going to have elections that are
DJ Envy
so corrupt and so dishonest, like we've witnessed over the last period of time.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Don't believe anything that comes out of his mouth. Is this the same one that, is this the same bill that everybody will have to re register to vote?
Mimi Brown
Well, there, yes, it's part of that. Although he hasn't come out and say that they're thinking about making people do that. But what they're adding now is the transgender part, Charlemagne. That's the new part of the same America Act. And you're right, this, this deal is not.
Angela Yee
What did I miss?
Mimi Brown
What happened?
DJ Envy
No, the reason I'm laughing is because I just remember them commercials that Trump did. They had me and Charlemagne in the commercials, and it had nothing to do with him, but he used it against Kamala Harris.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't think that's why he's laughing that I was. I have no idea what he started laughing. I just know you said transgender, and he looked at me and started dying for whatever reason.
Mimi Brown
Well, listen, either way, it is very important to note that this bill will disenfranchise a lot of people, including women who have gotten married. They say about 69 women in the US have taken their husband's last name, so it will not match their birth certificate. And transgender Americans could face similar hurdles because some have legally changed their name and their genders on their IDs.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Man, the picture. The picture on the ID and the picture.
Mimi Brown
Absolutely.
DJ Envy
Jesus Christ.
Mimi Brown
All right, well, coming up at 7, we're going to talk about the airports across the country and how it is a lot of chaos going on. So if you're flying soon, you'll want to hear this. We're going to talk about that in the next hour.
DJ Envy
Now, Mimi, I also seen on the News that there was some gas stations in California that they were saying that $8 a gallon for gas.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
That's crazy.
Mimi Brown
And 20 cents. I saw that.
DJ Envy
$8 a gallon.
Mimi Brown
Absolutely. The gas was already high here in California. So this is not adding. This is not helping. But you know what? I'm so Jesus Christ crazy.
DJ Envy
All right, well, we'll see you next hour, Mimi. Okay, everybody else, get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need to vent, call us right now. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. What you doing, man? This is your time to get it off your chest, whether you're mad or.
Charlamagne Tha God
Or blessed.
DJ Envy
800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club. Hello?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Who's this?
DJ Envy
What's up, Trav?
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey. Chilling, chilling.
Angela Yee
Hey, boo.
Charlamagne Tha God
What's up, Char?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Peace, sis. What's happening?
Charlamagne Tha God
Listen, I'm just calling. Y' all know I'm getting on this. Y' all know I'm terrified of flying. I think I told y' all that every time I'm about to get on the plane. So keep me in your prayers when I get on this plane tomorrow.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You scared. You scared of flying, but not a riding.
Charlamagne Tha God
Whoa. Oh, my Jesus. You stop it.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Whoa. He said I started blushing. Oh, my God. Did you stop?
Jessalarius
I'm praying for you, boo. I'm praying for you.
DJ Envy
Let me add. Yo, just give yourself a little extra time because. Yes, when we flew out Sunday, when I say the lines were crazy. The lines were so crazy that, I mean, it was like a two hour wait to get through tsa. So give yourself a lot of extra time.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, so, yeah, we leave at 9, so I'm trying to get there. Probably like 7.
DJ Envy
Yep.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, we'll get there.
DJ Envy
Probably.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Where you going, Trav?
Charlamagne Tha God
But I'm gonna. I'm going to Austin. Sorry.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You're right. You're right. You're right, man. I hope you have a great show, my brother. Go rock the mic.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah, I've been. I'm gonna definitely rock the mic.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I've been.
Charlamagne Tha God
I've been at rehearsal, like, the last five days, and we're gonna kill our show, period.
DJ Envy
That's what it is. Good luck.
Charlamagne Tha God
All right, y'. All.
DJ Envy
All right, Trav. Hello? Who's this?
Charlamagne Tha God
Good morning. It's Easy from Brooklyn.
DJ Envy
Easy.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What's up?
DJ Envy
Get it off your chest.
Charlamagne Tha God
Easy. Yo, good morning, Breakfast Club.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Peace. Easy.
DJ Envy
What's up, brother?
Charlamagne Tha God
What's good, Shawna? Yo, MV, I got some thing about your comments yesterday about March 9th.
DJ Envy
The greatest rap of all time. Donna. March 9th.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Go ahead.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. Yesterday I heard you say that the comments was that you didn't want to play Biggie on March 9th because of Ms. Wallace. I thought that was called out of context because she said she didn't like it, that they played her son's music more than they did on his death day. I don't think we should get rid of. You know, I know. I understand her, Vicious. That's her son and all. But I think if you ask Biggs, Envy, Big would be like, Envy, I don't care if they play My Music on March 9 to April 1. It don't matter, Envy. As long as they play at me, I'm good.
DJ Envy
Yeah, now we. I mean, I play big music all the time, but I always heard that comment from him and Drock that said that.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Her and Drock?
DJ Envy
Yeah, her and Drock. That they don't necessarily love to celebrate, quote, unquote, the day that he passed, like, you know, to celebrate his life. So because of that, I just stopped doing a mix on Biggie's birthday. I'm gonna do a mix this Friday, of course, for Big, but I just don't want to. You know, I kind of try to pay my respects. And I wanted to play a Big record yesterday, even to the point where Charlotte was like, yo, Ms. Big said this. You know, you want us.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You want to play big. I love it. Envy said, Man, Ms. Wallace said that she didn't like for us to celebrate the day that he died. And then he told Red, but pull up Juicy.
DJ Envy
I wasn't gonna do a mix, but I just wanted to hear a big record. But I'm gon. I'm gonna play some in the mix today, and I'm gonna do a full mix on Friday, brother. All right. Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. If you need the vent, hit us up now. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
It's a new day.
DJ Envy
This is your time to get it off your chest.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Wake, Wake up.
DJ Envy
Whether you're mad or blessed, it's time to get up and get something. Call up now. 800-585-1051. We want to hear from you on the Breakfast Club. Hello?
Charlamagne Tha God
Who's this? Hey, this is Marcella, Marcel Loves.
DJ Envy
Good morning. Where you calling from?
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm calling from New York City right now. I'm in the Bronx.
DJ Envy
In the Bronx.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Oh, my God. You know, the craziest people come from the Bronx and all of Florida, right?
Jessalarius
She don't sound like, she feel good.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What's wrong? Period. On hello, Hello.
DJ Envy
Talk to us. What's up, mama?
Charlamagne Tha God
Get it off your chest with the Save America Act. I just heard y' all talking about it, and one thing I wanted to say was that Trump is very good at being a deflector. He used words that are going to penetrate people's fear. And the first thing, when people hear Save America, they're going to be for it. And when they hear the transgender act, they're not going to think about anything else that's attached to that act. All they're going to hear is transgender, which is a lot of people are against, and they don't realize what the tail end of that act is. And they're going to allow him to restructure this whole voting thing, which, in a way, he's almost legally stealing the election later on down the road.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yes, you're absolutely right. I mean, he is good with words, but I don't think it's going to work this time because you can't have the big bill that's about restructuring voting. But then, just as Mimi said, add a little bit of transgender to it and think people are going to be for it.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, I hope not, because I feel like he's definitely playing on people's fears, and I feel like that's how he got elected the second time around, with just those strong power words of fraud and waste and things like that. And if people don't pay attention, they're going to try to put pressure on the Democratic Party and the rest of the people that's against it and not realizing what his ultimate goal is. He's a master magician. He knows how to deflect and have you look at what he's doing with his left hand when you really got to pay attention to what he's doing with his right hand.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You're absolutely right. I. I don't think people fall for it this time. I think people are way more concerned about, you know, their votes being manipulated than they are transgenders.
DJ Envy
Hello?
Charlamagne Tha God
Who's this? Hey, what's happening, Envy?
DJ Envy
What's up, man?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
The God peace, my guy.
Charlamagne Tha God
What's up?
DJ Envy
What's your name? Where you calling from?
Charlamagne Tha God
Calling from Dallas.
Mimi Brown
Okay.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Get it off your chest, brother.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey, so I got to talk about. Couldn't erect this, too. When y' all gonna have Drew Ski back on for interview? Because it's. It's crazy on. On the episodes, man.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Drew Ski is allowed. Is invited up here anytime he wants.
DJ Envy
Anytime he wants to come. Pause.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey, Drew.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
See you got to pull up, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
You got to talk about your girlfriends, man, and your baby mama.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I seen a reality show the other day about studs, man. And I was like, boy, Drewski really has opened up a new lane for studs. I don't think studs.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cause he built like one.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
He what?
Jessalarius
He built like one.
Charlamagne Tha God
He built like one. He won't.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What was that?
DJ Envy
Why.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Why you just shot at Drew Ski like that?
Charlamagne Tha God
It's not. It's not. Look, it's because when you love something, you represent it wholeheartedly.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So that's really what it is. I ain't never seen no such big as Drew Ski. I'm be honest with you.
DJ Envy
I don't know where you been.
Jessalarius
That's crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Charlamagne. You don't go outside.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah, I ain't never seen no studies. Biggest Drew Ski. Not. Not height wise, maybe. Maybe what? Husky Man
Charlamagne Tha God
Festival.
Jessalarius
They be out the big, big studs like that. You probably thought one of them was Drew Ski. But yes, they be out here.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Damn.
DJ Envy
Get it off your chest. 800-585-1051. What's up, Lauren?
Angela Yee
Good morning.
DJ Envy
How you feeling?
Angela Yee
How are y'? All?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You like you want to work for UPS all week? What's up?
Charlamagne Tha God
Wow.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Your color this week.
DJ Envy
We have the latest coming up. What we talk about.
Angela Yee
We talk about Rihanna. So yesterday we talked about the shooting at Rihanna's house, and I told you guys that there was a suspect that was arrested. But now we know that she was booked on attempted murder, which says a lot about motive.
DJ Envy
All right, we'll get into that next. Don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious Charlemagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get to the latest with Laurie.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You're talking LL Cool.
Angela Yee
Yeah. I'm not dumbing myself down. I'm being myself. I'm the homegirl that knows a little bit about everything and everything. Little brown girls look at you and go, I want to be like you.
Nicole Curtis
Take me through there.
Angela Yee
Take me through there.
DJ Envy
The latest with Lauren
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
on the Breakfast Club. LL Cool, babe.
DJ Envy
Talk to me.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
LL Cool Bay.
Angela Yee
Good morning, guys.
Jessalarius
Good morning.
Angela Yee
So I told you guys that I was going to stay on the beat of this, the shooting that happened at Rihanna's house. So yesterday, police released information to some media, and they sent us this info. They said they. They let us know that the person or the suspect that was arrested for the shooting at Rihanna's home, her name is Ivana lisette Ortiz. She's 35 years old, she was booked on attempted mur.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And the appeal as she should have been.
Angela Yee
Right. But when I saw that, because not only she booked under attempted murder, her bail is over $10 million. Right. So when I saw that, I'm like, okay, well, they must know something about, like, motive or like, at least they think they do. So I did ask them, like, have you guys identified the motive behind the shooting? Which they wouldn't release any more information on. But the penal code, that's next to like the. The charge that they booked her on. When I looked it up, it means that you take a direct step toward intentionally killing another person without success. It requires a specific intent to in our direct action. I mean, the action was the shooting outside of the home, but. Yeah. So she is currently locked up in an LA county jail right now.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
But you know what's crazy? She also needs to be in a psych ward.
Angela Yee
Yes. So we're going to get into that. Yes.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
That woman is clearly suffering from schizophrenia. Clearly.
Angela Yee
Yeah. So once her name was released and her birthday was released, the, you know, outlets and people begin to do what they do digging on social media. And there are a few reported social media posts. There's video, and there's also, like, just actual posts on Facebook. So I want to play. There's a video that she posted to her Instagram where she is actually, and she is Ivana, the suspect, mentioning Rihanna. Let's take a listen to Rihanna's suspect talking about Rihanna wanting to kill her. No, Rihanna, you're not the eagle. They will soar high on wings like eagles. Rihanna wants to say that we are flying and we're not. She's not flying. The way that Rihanna wants to kill me shows that we're not going to show this right now. But this is my heart, Lord, and I am expecting and waiting in that beautiful time for you to show me what you're gonna do and how you're gonna deliver this promise. It's in my heart and it's in my vitality. And I'm very, very grateful to you for your abundant graces. Listen, Rihanna, when you die, God is taking me to my future. You want to kill me? Shut the up.
Jessalarius
Yeah.
Angela Yee
She's a witch. She's a witch. I'm a watchman. Get that stupid girl out of here.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
That's so sad.
DJ Envy
It's very scary.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She's clearly something. Schizophrenia.
Angela Yee
Yes. And I think it's also very scary because it's like she had a.
Jessalarius
A gun.
Angela Yee
Like, how did she get her hands on 15 yeah. Now, okay, so a few weeks before the shooting on February 23, there was a post that. Because there was a. There's a ton of Facebook posts, but there's one that she posted on her Facebook that mentioned she tagged Rihanna. She said, are you there because I was waiting on your aids 5 head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you're talking to me where I'm not at. And then she goes on, there's post about Kim Kardashian, there's a video about Cardi B. But I want to mention before we listen to the Cardi B audio, if we get to that, that her. There's an attorney for her ex husband who is now speaking out. So she has a child that she shares with her ex husband. And that attorney is giving statements and letting it be known that back in 2023 in Florida, she was actually placed. Ivana was placed on a psychiatric hold in a facility under the state law. And then in 2024, she lost custody of her child and a judge because of her mental state, made it where she's not able to contact her child by phone, in person, video, text, email, or any third party communication with the child until any further orders from the court.
DJ Envy
Did they say how to get. How she got the A off the team?
Angela Yee
We don't know that yet. No, we don't know that yet. Not at all.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
This is America.
Angela Yee
Yeah.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And we are easy to get firearms.
DJ Envy
No, I know that, but if they, if she had all these, the psych wards and all these things, she can't see her child. I just wonder if she was able to buy it legally or if she bought it illegally. Then they said she was a speech. A speech pathologist.
Angela Yee
Yeah. And the ex husband said she's very articulate, she's very smart. And if you talk to her about certain things, she would even have you convinced too. You notice certain bizarre, random things that she says or, and, or does and. Yeah.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So she looks regular.
Jessalarius
Yeah, she definitely did.
Angela Yee
Yeah.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Like she just looks regular.
Angela Yee
Well, there was one.
DJ Envy
You.
Angela Yee
You. We've been talking a lot about Cardi B's tour. Remember the San Francisco stop? There's a video that she had posted. She was trying to get to the San Francisco stop and there were issues that she had. She was making up on her own with Cardi B. Let's take a listen to Cardi. You can't. With me, Cardi B. You're supposedly busy right now, but you know who has the cutest outfit tonight? You know who's the cutest tonight I am. You ain't messing with me. Is Cardi B pressed, Chardi B. Yeah. I was just in San Francisco last week. Actually, this week, no one wanted me to go to what Cardi B Had going on. I wonder why. I wonder why.
DJ Envy
I wonder, like, where her friends were, parents, if there were any loved ones, anybody around her. Because somebody had to see this and say, this is not right.
Angela Yee
From the husband's statement, I take it as people know, she's not okay. I just don't. I don't know what her day was like that day where she was able to get to whatever, do whatever, but it's. It's very obvious that people around her knew that she wasn't okay.
Jessalarius
And then I wonder if she, like, off meds because, like, if this is her every day like you said, it should be people around her that's like, trying to get her help or alerting police if she doing things like getting.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Schizophrenia is tough, though, man. Schizophrenia is tough.
Angela Yee
There's a lot of questions here. And again, police. So that book, what she was booked with was the attempted murder. It goes to a da. The DA will then determine, like, further charges or whatever the case may be. But, you know, I think just from here, we can kind of tell where this is going to go. But yesterday, too, it was updated and released that TMZ spoke to a source and they confirmed that when Rihanna was home, her kids were there with her. Is that Rocky wasn't there, but her kids were there with her. And then there was a private jet that was marked flying out of LA yesterday that they believe was la. Rihanna leaving la. And I would too, at this point, like, right now, that is insane.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I have to sell that house and everything. But what's scary is there are people on social media in our mentions like that right now, they be talking to themselves, telling themselves these crazy. And that young woman needs to be in somebody's mental institution forever. She don't need to be on the street. Yeah.
Angela Yee
Yeah. Yes. Yeah. So I'll keep you guys updated as, you know, more unfolds and we'll bring it back here to the latest.
DJ Envy
And I always wonder what people like that, like, what got her there, right? Because she was married, she had a child, so I'm sure she was okay. Like, what was the change?
Jessalarius
She was on meds or maybe she. It was under control and, like, I don't know.
Angela Yee
It depends. I think it's different for different people. I have a friend that went into something like this, and it was just things in life, stress in life that were happening. But I know sometimes it happens when

We know parents want to feel confident as their teens navigate social media. With Instagram teen accounts, teens get automatic protections by default. Teens between the ages of 13 to 17 are automatically put into a protective experience. That means they get built in content settings for what they see, contact limits on who can contact them, and time management tools like daily time limit reminders, as well as sleep mode, which mutes notifications from 10pm to 7am plus teens under 16 need a parent's permission to change any of these settings to be less strict. Instagram continues to work on building new safety features to help create age appropriate experiences for teens. what up, everybody? It's DJ Emmy from the Breakfast Club. Now you know me and my wife, married 24 years and together over 30. And yes, we still speak on the phone every day. I mean, the early days, I didn't have a cell phone. I couldn't afford a cell phone. And the cell phones were like the size of a. A man's purse. But anyway, I love speaking to my wife over the phone. People say we talk too much, but that's my best friend. Why shouldn't we be able to talk all the time? All day long? 24, 7. But did you know that 2026 will mark the 150th anniversary of the first ever phone call. It took place March 10, 1876. And that call sparked it all. For the first long distance phone lines, the first lines across America, the first line across the Atlantic, the first round the world called, the first commercial cell Service, the first 911 system. AT&T has been connecting people for 150 years in so many different ways. Thank God we have cell phones. I can connect to my moms, my pops, and my whole family. Thank you. AT&T.
Nicole Curtis
Connecting changes everything.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
AT&T. Schizophrenia is already a chronic brain disorder. And it gets what I see. It gets worse as you get older.
Charlamagne Tha God
Wow.
Angela Yee
Yeah, so it depends on the person in their life.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
It develops in, like, your late adolescence. But then as you, you know, just grow and get older, it gets worse.
Angela Yee
From what I've seen, this is such a problem to be figured out like, though, like, people getting help before they're able to hurt other people. Like, it's.
Jessalarius
I don't know.
Angela Yee
I was thinking about that too. Like, how do you even solve a problem? Like mental health illnesses?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Schizophrenia is tough, bro. Like, I don't even. I don't. I don't think.
DJ Envy
I don't know.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't think there's a kill for schizophrenia. Like, no, schizophrenia is. Yeah, you need. We need to bring somebody on here who really understands schizophrenia to discuss that, because that's not something you just get help for.
Jessalarius
Yeah.
DJ Envy
All right, well, that's the latest with Lauren. Now when we come back, Mimi will be joining us. Front page news, so don't go anywhere. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody.
Jessalarius
It's DJ Envy.
DJ Envy
Just hilarious Charlamagne. The guy we are The Breakfast Club. Let's get back in some front page news. What's up, Mimi?
Mimi Brown
Good morning. MV Jess, Charlamagne. How y' all doing this morning?
Jessalarius
Hey, Mimi.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Peace. Mimi.
Mimi Brown
Good morning. So we start this hour with a major travel warning if you're heading to the airport or heading out anytime soon. Airport travel across the country is turning into a nightmare, with security lines stretching for hours and travelers missing flights at the start of this busy spring break season. So at several major airports, TSA wait times are hitting two to three hours. In New Orleans, the security line, it's stretched across multiple floors of the terminal and all the way into the parking garage. Airports are now warning passengers to arrive four to five hours before their flight just to make it through security. Now, all of this is tied to the partial government shutdown of Department of Homeland Security funding for dhs. It expired after Congress failed to reach a deal with Democrats pushing for conditions that they want placing tighter limits on ice. So because of this shutdown, more than 60,000 TSA agents are still required to work, but they are not being paid. And that, of course, is starting to take a toll. So across the country, agents are calling out sick. They're not showing up, which is creating staffing shortages at airport security checkpoints and sitting those wait times soaring. An industry group called Airlines for America, they represent major airline carriers. They say TSA agents are being used as political pawns in this government shutdown.
Nicole Curtis
Fight, fight. Let's listen.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
They're just political footballs, basically, that are used as leverage points for political battles that they have nothing to do with.
Mimi Brown
Yeah. So I know, Envy, you were recently in the airport. How was your. Your wait time getting through security?
DJ Envy
Oh, it was nasty. I would tell everybody there's this thing called touchless. I don't know if you guys know what touchless is. If every airline has touchless, but touchless is when you walk. You could just kind of walk up there and they scan your eyes. You can walk right through. No, it's called touchless. It's not. It's not clear. It's not pre check. It's called touchless. They have it on the Delta app. You should definitely check it. Sign up for it if you can. I believe it's free through your airline. Also, Precheck took Madison 45 minutes to go through, and Logan didn't have pre check or anything, and it took him an hour and 50 minutes. Logan missed a flight. Me and Madison had to meet him in Miami because he missed his flight. But I would just say that, yeah, give Yourself a lot of extra time. And if you got to check a bag, two hours at least, because the airport was nasty.
Jessalarius
And then everybody got clear too.
DJ Envy
Like, everybody has clear, everybody has pre check.
Jessalarius
Everybody got it. So you might. Sometimes I just go through the regular line because the clear lines are so long.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Salute to all the TSA workers, man, I'm sorry that y' all gotta go through this again. Cause, you know, some people just bouncing back from the last government shutdown, you know what I mean? Just really catching up. If they caught up and now they, you know, not getting paid again, man. So salute to all the TSA workers.
DJ Envy
Absolutely.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
It's a damn shame y' all gotta go through this.
Nicole Curtis
Absolutely.
Mimi Brown
And to your point, Charlamagne, I just left New York and several agents told me that they recently, well, about two weeks ago, they received half of their paycheck and they're expected to be paid this week. And that paycheck will be $0.00.00. And many expressed to me that they were living paycheck to paycheck and they were being forced to get, you know, a part time job so that they could, you know, afford their basic essentials, which of course is leaving that shortage at airports, which is what we're seeing right now.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Why would you even play with somebody like that? Why would you even waste the time printing out the paper to pay somebody zero dollars and zero cents? Yeah, that's like when a judge gives you 200 years, just say forever. Stop playing with me. Okay? You know, I can't ever do 200 years. I'm gonna do with this $0.00 check.
Mimi Brown
Exactly. So we'll continue to follow that story and we're learning more this morning about that terror incident outside the New York City mayor's residence over the weekend. Investigators are now filling in some of the details that were still unfolding yesterday. So the incident happened on Saturday outside Gracie Mansion, the official home of New York City mayor. Now, police say two homemade experience explosive devices, they were thrown during a protest there. Officials say the devices could have seriously injured or killed people, but they failed to fully detonate. So no one was hurt. And here's the background on what was happening out there. So earlier that day, a group connected to a far right activist, they organized a protest outside the mayor's residence. They were demonstrating against what they call the Islamification of New York, essentially claiming, essentially claiming that New York has become too influenced by Islam and Muslim communities. So that protest, it drew more than 100 counter protests who showed up to push back against what they viewed as anti Muslim rhetoric. So police say the tension between those two groups escalated. And we now know that two teens from Pennsylvania, they brought those homemade explosives to that protest. And this morning, we're hearing from Mayor Mandami, who is now responding to that attack. Let's listen to what he had to say.
Charlamagne Tha God
On Saturday, a protest was held outside Gracie Mansion, where I live with my wife Rama. This was a vile protest rooted in
DJ Envy
white supremacy entitled Stop the Islamic takeover of New York City. I'm the first Muslim mayor of our city. Anti Muslim bigotry is nothing new to me, nor is it anything new for the 1 million or so Muslim New Yorkers who know this city as our home.
Nicole Curtis
While I found this protest appalling, I
DJ Envy
will not waver in my belief that it should be allowed to happen.
Charlamagne Tha God
Let me also be clear about something else.
DJ Envy
New York City will never tolerate violence.
Charlamagne Tha God
Violence.
DJ Envy
Anyone who comes to New York City to bring violence to our streets will be held accountable in accordance with the law.
Mimi Brown
Our infedible prosecutors, they say the suspect, they told investigators that they were inspired by isis and they allegedly wanted to carry out something even bigger than the Boston Marathon bombing. So they said that during the Boston Marathon bombing that only three people died. And they said that to investigators in New York City, and they wanted something much bigger. But the attorney from one of the teens is pushing back, saying his client just turned 18 and didn't fully understand what he was doing. Let's listen to the lawyer. Lawyer for that teen for two months.
DJ Envy
He's a high school student. This is the first time he's ever been connected to anything like this. He has no history of any kind of violence. Now all of a sudden, he's here in New York, over 100 miles away
Nicole Curtis
from home, accused of terrorism.
DJ Envy
There's really no. There was no forewarning of that.
Mimi Brown
Well, the FBI is also carrying out searches at locations connected to those suspects in Pennsylvania as investig investigators look for more evidence to determine whether anyone else may have been involved. Now, both men, they made their first court appearance yesterday in federal court in Manhattan. They are being held in federal custody, and their next hearing is scheduled for April 8th. So, yeah, we will continue to watch that. And really quickly, before we go, a quick update to that Ticketmaster story that we were talking about earlier. Jess, you and I were, you know, kind of following this one together. So Live Nation, the company that owns Ticketmaster, has reached a deal with the federal government and dozens of states after being accused of having too much control over concert ticket prices. So under the deal the company will pay about $280 million, with that money going to 40 states that also joined the lawsuit. Now, the deal could change how tickets are sold going forward. For example, service fees at some of the venues would be capped at about 15% of the ticket price. And Ticketmaster would also also have to open parts of their ticketing technology to other companies, which would mean that other ticketing companies would start selling using. Using the same ticket system. And Live Nation would have to give up some of those exclusive deals with concert venues, which would allow more competition in the ticket market, which they hope will bring down those ticket prices.
Angela Yee
So.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay, dope.
Angela Yee
Yeah.
Mimi Brown
We will continue to see what happens with that. And that is it, y'.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
All.
Mimi Brown
That is your front page news. I'm Mimi Brown. Follow me, Mimi Brown, tv. And for more stories, follow the Black Black Information Network.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Now, a couple weeks ago, Nicole Curtis.
DJ Envy
That's right, Nicole Curtis from hgtv.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah, I gave her a donkey today. She's on the show Rehab Addict. She is the white woman who on Rehab Addict said partners, correct? Right.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yep.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And so I gave her a donkey today. And she reached out to Lauren LaRosa and was explaining herself and wanted to come on the show.
DJ Envy
Yep.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Explain herself some more.
DJ Envy
She said declare the air and explain herself.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Hey, man, I'm assuming to apologize. Don't threaten us with a good time.
DJ Envy
Oh, my goodness. All right, so when we come back, Nicole Curtis from hgtv. You know, that's the lady, the white woman that said fart on. On, I guess. And it went viral. So we're gonna talk to her next. Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody.
Jessalarius
It's DJ Envy.
DJ Envy
Just hilarious. Charlamagne, the guy. We are the breakfast club. Lauren LaRosa is here as well. We got a special guest in the building. You know her from HGT tv, Rehab Addict, or HG tv, I should say. Ladies and gentlemen, Nicole Curtis. Welcome.
Nicole Curtis
Thank you. Thank you.
Angela Yee
Good morning.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Nicole is. I'm about to. A lot of people may have known Nicole, but then they may not know Nicole, but they may have just learned in Nicole.
DJ Envy
Right?
Nicole Curtis
That is right.
DJ Envy
So Nicole, of course, she's on Rehab Addict. She's a best selling author, New York Times bestselling author. But recently she went viral. Not for anything good. She was actually doing some work in a home and I guess something happened. And you heard Nicole blurt out fart.
Nicole Curtis
Why?
Angela Yee
It's my last one.
Nicole Curtis
Oh, fart. What the is that that I just said, Nick, you gotta. You gotta. Can you kill that? My life.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah.
DJ Envy
And Charlamagne gave a donkey today.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yes.
DJ Envy
And she went viral for it. And because of that, she lost her show and a host of other things. And you're here today to talk about that?
Nicole Curtis
Yeah. Yeah.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What is a fart?
Nicole Curtis
You know, I have no idea. I have no idea. It's.
Jessalarius
It's.
Nicole Curtis
That. That isn't anything that I've ever said before. And so I. I don't have any idea. You know, that's.
Charlamagne Tha God
It.
Jessalarius
Would you say it's a black person with gas? Could it be?
Nicole Curtis
No. I mean, listen, it.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
It is.
Nicole Curtis
It is. I. I heard your show on it, and you guys had a great time on it, and. And that's all fine. You know, I've. I've been a female in construction for almost 30 years. I think I'm the oldest here. I'm older than all of you guys.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
How old are you?
Nicole Curtis
I'm 49.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Oh, you're right behind you. 47.
Nicole Curtis
Yeah. I'm still older, though, you know, and I've. I'm a mom, so I've got kids, right? So I've been. I've. I get made fun of a lot, you know, and I get roasted. I work on a crew with, like, my best friends from elementary school, junior high, high school.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Are your best friends black?
Nicole Curtis
Are my best friends black? I. I have some. I don't even. See, this is the thing, because as soon as I say anything like that, then somebody says, oh, she came out and used her best friend as black thing. Correct. Right. And I live in Detroit, right?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So best friends are black.
Nicole Curtis
So I have. I have. I have friends of every nationality, every background. I always have.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Have.
Nicole Curtis
But it's. I can't say anything right. Right now. Anything I say makes some person somewhere angry. Right?
Jessalarius
But if you do have black friends, you could say that.
DJ Envy
You know what I mean?
Nicole Curtis
Well, I definitely do. And I don't. I don't want to cut them out. But I'm saying. Then people say, like, oh, here she comes. She's gonna come out now. This happened, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
DJ Envy
But I think that the main thing is, is what are your best friends
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
that are blacks named.
DJ Envy
Yeah. Oh, my God.
Nicole Curtis
Okay, okay, okay. So Danielle. Danielle's part of our crew. I have Elizabeth. I have. I have. So I live right in Detroit. Right. So do you want me just go down and name.
DJ Envy
I mean, I.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Just Your best friend?
Nicole Curtis
Yeah, yeah. So I'm just saying. And that's the. That's the thing, you know, is that, you know, when this all happened, I asked all of my friends, all of My family, all of my crew to take a step back, right? Because everyone wanted to come out right away and be like, whoa, this isn't. This isn't who she is. This isn't who she's about. And I asked them not to on purpose because I didn't want them get to get caught up in my sh. T. To be honest, right? Because I'm. I'm in this weird. Like, here's me in the middle right now, right? And I have people over here coming at me. I have people coming here over me. And then these two groups are coming like this, you know, like. I don't know. Like, when I was a kid growing up, we didn't fly anywhere. We're in the back of a car, going on road trips everywhere. But then you fight with your siblings. Well, that's how I am right now, where I have, like, groups of people who have never met me, who haven't watched my show, know nothing about me, judging me or. Or defending me or just seeing all this weird stuff about me, and I'm like, okay, what. You know, what. What do I do at that point?
Angela Yee
What do the people who knew you before this viral moment, who have met you, who have watched your shows, your black friends, like, that community.
Nicole Curtis
Yeah.
Angela Yee
What did they say to you about the use of the word?
Nicole Curtis
Oh, they were just like. Like, we know you. Like, this isn't. This isn't something you say. This isn't something you use or anything. Now, they do know me, which means they know that I run a million miles an hour, right?
Mimi Brown
I'm a mom.
Nicole Curtis
I got two boys. I fly cross country like, once or twice a week. I shoot a show, I produce a show. I build houses. I design houses. Bottom line is, I'm a mom. I talk fast. I'm on the go like this. And like all of you, right, I didn't get handed my show. I didn't get handed it. I didn't. I wasn't an overnight success, you know? Like, I grew up in a family where I learned to work. And in my 20s, I became a mom at 21. I cleaned houses. I did odd jobs on Craigslist when Craigslist was still a thing. I don't think it is anymore.
DJ Envy
Not really. You know, but that's all wonderful, but the term. Yeah, fart, right? It just. We just never heard that term before. So it was just like, trying to figure out, like, is that something you said? If that's a fart, like, where did that term come from? Have you ever said it? Have you Ever heard it?
Nicole Curtis
No, I haven't. I haven't. And when you. I think you brought up. And you said that, you actually looked it up and it was at work. Yeah, yeah. And I didn't. You know, and that is something that, over the years, and this is like, if. If my shows were. Well, you can still find my shows. I don't think they've wiped them off completely of the universe. But if you watch them, I have said. Because years ago now, I started on TV in 2010. Right. So we couldn't. We couldn't swear if we said. And I say the F word a lot. Okay. I say it a lot. I say it too much.
Charlamagne Tha God
Fart.
Nicole Curtis
No, I say, like, that's what I say. Okay, all right.
Angela Yee
Have you ever used the N word without the fart?
Nicole Curtis
Absolutely not. Absolutely not. And that's where the people that know me, have known me for years, have worked with me, were like, you know, like, that's just. That's.
Jessalarius
And.
Nicole Curtis
And again, I have been on TV. I've been in the industry almost 30 years, right? So you know how it is. If. If. If that's something. If that's how you're known to be or something like that.
Charlamagne Tha God
It.
Nicole Curtis
There's already stories out there about it, you know, And I've said, like, find someone who's ever heard me use that word, be in that context or have that type of mindset, and you won't. Like, you.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Were you at the BAFTA Awards recently?
Nicole Curtis
No, I. I did see that, though. Yes. Yes. No, I wasn't there.
DJ Envy
And the next thing is. So, you know, of course, people all the time say things that we say. Edit that out. Right, right. You said edit it out. You asked about it. So how did it leak? If it's your. Your show, you know, you're the producer and all that. How did your audio leak?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Like, it just came out. Like fart. Like, it just slipped out.
Nicole Curtis
Well, he's asking about how it leaked, right?
DJ Envy
Yeah.
Nicole Curtis
Okay. All right. So when you see my show on any kind of platform on hgtv, we do have to edit it. We do have to, like, like, dumb it down. And I show a before and after when I'm still in the middle of construction, right? So I'm like, I'm gonna shoot this raw. So what I was doing, what I've always done, is I shoot all my own material. So I was shooting in my own house, my own cameras. Like, this would be if I was producing the show right now. And this gentleman here shooting. He can't walk out of here with my media. Right. He can't. Like, it's mine. I'm gonna take that.
DJ Envy
Of course.
Nicole Curtis
I'm gonna load it up, I'm gonna take it home, put it in my drive. It goes in my safe.
Charlamagne Tha God
Right.
Nicole Curtis
So there is. There is another human in the world that did have access to that.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Who is that human?
Nicole Curtis
I. And. And right now, with everything going on, I'm not gonna. I'm gonna. I'm not gonna state that.
DJ Envy
Was he black?
Jessalarius
So they leaked it?
DJ Envy
No, he wasn't black.
Nicole Curtis
No, no.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Do you think that person is a.
Nicole Curtis
I think he's a. Okay, so we'll just start at that.
DJ Envy
Okay.
Nicole Curtis
I think he's a person.
Mimi Brown
I think.
Nicole Curtis
I think, in my humble opinion, who I think it is, I think needed to. To ruin me and. And crush my soul.
Angela Yee
I understand that, like, you're here because you want to have a real conversation. You know, this is the place to be. But I feel like what's happening right now is, like, you're doing a lot to humanize yourself, and that's.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
That's cool.
Angela Yee
I know you feel like you have to do that, but the use of the N word saying dehumanizes people like us. And that's the real conversation.
Nicole Curtis
Absolutely, absolutely. And that's why, again, I've never. Like, I was raised. We don't use that word. Okay, I know that. I don't use that word. I don't use that word. Why? I'm white. That wasn't your first time, I swear to God.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Don't do that.
Charlamagne Tha God
No.
Nicole Curtis
Charlemagne, I'm gonna tell you. I'm gonna tell you. No, I'm gonna tell you right. No, no, no, no. You can stand next to me. Like, you can. No, I'm telling you. And you don't have to believe me. Like, you don't know me. I just walked in here. I just met you. You don't know me. You don't have to.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Not even in a song context.
Nicole Curtis
Like, you listen and. No, and you. You have to. I have a. I have a 28 year old son, okay? And like my playlist, Yes, I listen to. I've always listened. I've always listened to everything. Okay? I grew up. I graduated in 1994, okay? Like, like that's it. But I don't. I have never used the word. I know that. The people that know me know that. My children know that. And the most important thing for me when all this came out is that one. I spoke to my children, my son, my 28 year old was like, I'M finding the RAW footage because there is no way that that slipped out and then you weren't. Because he's like, mom, you go on and on about all the time, right?
DJ Envy
We're.
Nicole Curtis
I'm a mom. Like, that's what we do. And he's like, he found the raw. And I do. I go on. That was an edited version.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What you mean you go on?
Nicole Curtis
No, I go on. Like, I. I've never. I literally say on it. I say, like, I've never said that before. I've never said that before. I can't believe I just said that. I've never said this word before. And so I. I know that.
Jessalarius
Do you think that.
DJ Envy
Yeah.
Nicole Curtis
I'm sorry.
Jessalarius
So the guy who leaked it, Right.
Nicole Curtis
We assume.
Angela Yee
Do you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay.
Nicole Curtis
All right.
Angela Yee
Yeah.
Nicole Curtis
So, yeah, somebody had to leak it
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
because it was out.
DJ Envy
So somebody leaked it.
Jessalarius
So the person that leaked it couldn't have just felt like that was so wrong.
Nicole Curtis
Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I have been in a situation, and again, I'm not. I'm not saying exactly it was this person, but again, getting back to this. I produce my own stuff. I was in my own home, okay? The reason I said, like, oh, my gosh, delete that is because I don't. I don't. I was, like, so shocked that I said, you can see as soon as it comes out of my mouth. If I was someone. Now, I'm gonna play the devil's advocate here, okay?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
White devil's advocate.
Nicole Curtis
Okay, fine. White devil's advocate over here. If I was someone that said that all the time, and I'm in the sanctity of my own house, my own cameras, my own camera people that I pay for, they're not taking my media away, okay? And even. Let's say it was my audio guy, right? He only has audio clips. He doesn't have video. Okay? But I would just roll with it. What would I care?
DJ Envy
When you said erase it, what did the guy say in the background?
Nicole Curtis
So he said. He said, we have. I have 35 minutes on this clip, okay? So he's. He's rolling right here, right? So if we stop to do that, okay? So then you go back, and then there's a. There's a. Like, you have 35 minutes of footage already on there, right? And then, I mean, I have. I have the Raw. Like, if you guys want to watch the Raw, I'll show you the Raw.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Why do you want to traumatize us? Why do you want us to revisit?
Nicole Curtis
No, no, I, I, I'm saying, but what I'm saying is that I, I didn't have to. Like, no one would have ever seen this.
DJ Envy
But I thought he said it was already fed to the network.
Nicole Curtis
No, no, no, no.
DJ Envy
I thought he said something like that.
Nicole Curtis
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. You can pull that, you can pull that audio up. First of all, when we shoot tv, a network never gets raw footage ever. So. And I'm in control of my footage, I'm in control of my show. I produce and I edit. So they only get the, so, you know, they, I sell them a product, they buy it, they've decided to take it off their shelves, right? But they will never have my raw footage. I don't deliver 1600 hours of footage to them to go through. They don't get it. So they would never get it. No one would ever get it. Like I shot yesterday, I shot for the past two days in a house. No one's ever going to see that footage if I don't want them to.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So what does accountability look like for you? Because, you know, an apology is like staging a house, right? It looks nice, but what's underneath, Underneath, it's, it's, it's.
Nicole Curtis
Again, I've, I've come out and I've said, I don't condone. Use that word. Okay? So again, I'm stuck here in the middle. All right? So you got, and honestly, the only people coming at me really are, are white people, like, hardcore at me. You have these, these people over here who always have to be like a missionary, right? Who are like, oh, my gosh, you need to apologize. They expect me to, like, sell everything I've ever had in my life, donate it to a charity, and like, get, get stoned in the streets, okay? And then you have the other side of white people that are like, fighting these people and being like, leave her alone. It's just a word. And I've come out and I said, it's not just a word.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Who are these people?
Nicole Curtis
No, I'm saying that this group of white people, and then you have this
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
group of white people fighting each other, fighting each other, like, white on white
Nicole Curtis
crimes, white on white. And I'm in the middle, right? And anyone else who's known me or works with me throughout the years has been like, these people are all crazy. Like, what is going on here?
Angela Yee
Have you said sorry?
Nicole Curtis
Yes, I have. Oh, I have.
Mimi Brown
I have to who?
Nicole Curtis
First of all, I apologize to my children. First, that was. That was the most important.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Are they black?
Nicole Curtis
My children are white. They are my children. But the most important thing is that I have raised them knowing.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Have you apologized to black people?
Nicole Curtis
I absolutely have. I did. I did. Did you like it? I did. I have. I've also the. So the most important thing to me was I apologize. I talked to my children first. They watched the clip because they were like, mom, you don't use that word. You know, we can't use that word. We're not. This is like. This is so out of character.
Jessalarius
Kids were like.
Nicole Curtis
Like, my little one, I have a 10 year old, right? So I pulled up the footage and I showed him. He goes, oh, you didn't mean to say it? I said, I didn't mean to say it. I didn't mean to say it.
DJ Envy
So how did you feel when you heard the donkey today? Did you. And how did you hit a donkey today?
Nicole Curtis
I heard the donkey because I work with a bunch of guys and they saw it and. And again, they were like. And. And. And listen, you guys want to call me donkey of the day or. You know, I. I called us worse. What?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You've called us worse?
Nicole Curtis
I'm gonna. I'm gonna stay silent on that one because again, I'm gonna. I'm gonna say again that that was not something that I said or meant it at somebody or any. I didn't even mean for that word to come out. And again,
DJ Envy
I.
Nicole Curtis
There. That's not the only word I don't use. Okay, The R words making a comeback. Right? The R word.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What's that?
Nicole Curtis
You can guess. No. Okay, well, I'm not gonna say it because I don't use it.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What's the. The.
DJ Envy
What's the R word?
Nicole Curtis
Do you know the R word, Jess?
Charlamagne Tha God
What?
Angela Yee
Yeah, what's the R word? I mean, at this point, you didn't. You didn't. Took it there. You could say that one.
Nicole Curtis
No, I. No, no. What's the R word? Yeah, okay, well, that word's making a comeback. Yeah, right. We don't use that.
Angela Yee
And then.
Nicole Curtis
Then the. Then.
DJ Envy
F. F. F. Reneging.
Nicole Curtis
Oh, my goodness.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What's the F word?
Jessalarius
Reparations.
Angela Yee
Oh, no, that. That can't be the word you don't use. Okay, Tell the people that there are
Nicole Curtis
a series of words that I don't use.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay.
Nicole Curtis
All right. So. So, yes.
Angela Yee
No, the R word isn't reparations, right?
Jessalarius
No, no.
DJ Envy
Renegade.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's it.
Angela Yee
Oh, she can't say that one.
Jessalarius
What?
Angela Yee
Reneging?
Jessalarius
Oh, look. No, she can't Say, Rene, so what
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
made you decide to come to Breakfast Club to have this conversation? Like, I'm sure there's other places you could have went.
Nicole Curtis
No, no, no, no, no. I'll tell you why.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Okay.
Nicole Curtis
Okay. I've always been somebody that I don't. You guys brought it up, right? And it seemed like you guys had questions and things like that. And this is, this is, this is honestly like. Like I'm walking in knowing that you guys have made fun of me, roasted me. You've had this commentary about me. Okay.
Jessalarius
Felt offended first.
Nicole Curtis
I'm sorry.
Jessalarius
And then.
Nicole Curtis
Exactly. No, and I understand. I understand. You know, and I reached out to Lauren, right? And I just said, can we just. Can we just talk on the phone? I'm not. You know, when, when this first came out, everyone suggested that I hire a pr. A crisis prt, right? Or go do this or go do that and make a good show of it. Like, no, like, that's not what I'm about. And that's. That's not what I've ever done. I've always found that you can be a, you know, like a problem reporter or solution seeker. Right. And I've always found solutions through understanding and having conversations. So if you have a conversation with me, right, and then you're still like, you know what? I don't believe her.

she deserved Donkey of the day. And I don't, I don't believe her. That's fine. Now you've met me, we've had a conversation, right?
Angela Yee
I just.
Nicole Curtis
When I. When somebody judges anybody, just from. And of course like when they see a headline and they say hgtv racial slur, right? They don't need to say I'm white. I mean hgtv, like I can't think. I can't think of a whiter TV station.
Angela Yee
Weren't you in Wyoming when that filming was happening? I'm sorry, you Were in Wyoming.
Nicole Curtis
Was happening.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yes.
Nicole Curtis
Yes. Yeah. But I'm just saying, like, everyone knew that you.
Mimi Brown
They didn't.
Jessalarius
You're gonna be white.
Nicole Curtis
I'm gonna be white, Right? I'm gonna be white. And then you see me, right? And that's okay. Like, without. Without meeting me. Like, who do you think I am? Like, what's your stereotypes about me?
Jessalarius
That was my introduction to you. Like.
Nicole Curtis
Yeah.
Jessalarius
When you first came in, you said, people have known me for 30 plus years being in this industry, the, you know, home restoration, and then there's people that don't know me.
Nicole Curtis
Right.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
This.
Jessalarius
This is the people that don't know you. This is the introduction. You know? You know what I mean? So my thing is, I thought you say it all the time because it came out so sad.
DJ Envy
It definitely seems like you said high time.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
How did the word come so naturally?
Nicole Curtis
And again. And. And. And this is. This is. I mean, if you guys want to watch the Raw. Like, I said, no, no, I said, I. I have the Raw. Do you want to. You want to watch?
Charlamagne Tha God
Absolutely.
DJ Envy
Okay.
Nicole Curtis
I believed it.
DJ Envy
The thing is, if. If you said fart digger, the amount of times that you said, I just feel like you should have released that a million and one times because I've never heard fart, and I. I watched this show.
Nicole Curtis
Yeah.
DJ Envy
And I've definitely never heard fart. So it just seems. It just seems like it's something that you've said before because it just came out, so.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And fart digger sound like you playing an ass all day.
DJ Envy
Yeah.
Jessalarius
That's a little nasty.
DJ Envy
No, no.
Nicole Curtis
And.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And why would you just be digging?
Jessalarius
I don't have, like, crazy.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't have.
Nicole Curtis
I don't have a rhyme or reason of the words that I make up. Like, I say. I say nonsense stuff all the time. I mean, and again, like, even when I, like, I edit my shows, right. And I'll be editing my shows and I'll be like, just finish. What the. You're saying. Because I go off on, like, this and that, and I'm off the cuff. I'm not scripted. Right. And I. Actually, there are. There are people in my genre that are a little more scripted or they're directed or they're produced or they have a whole video village or they have all this. I don't. I don't have any of that. I shoot myself.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So. Were you trying to say something else in that moment?
Nicole Curtis
Absolutely.
Jessalarius
Because you say fart digger and fart knocker.
Angela Yee
I say all that together. What are you trying to say?
Nicole Curtis
But that's what I'm saying. I was, I don't like exactly. Do I know my train of thought in that? No, it's like a blip of a moment. But I know that I wasn't saying that. First of all, I would never put. I didn't know that it was a phrase that was used. But again, I don't really know a lot of. I stay in my like little cave of restoring houses and being a mom and tooling around Detroit.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Were you gassy and like talking to yourself? Like, oh, apart.
Nicole Curtis
Did you see the clip, what I'm doing?
Jessalarius
Yeah.
Angela Yee
He's asking, did you have gas on the ladder?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Like, were you talking to yourself? Were you referring to yourself as such?
Jessalarius
What I can say is I understand you not. Let me finish. I mean, oh my God, I'm sorry.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You see what I'm saying? That's why, that's why they feel comfortable.
DJ Envy
You use that term.
Jessalarius
She should feel comfortable. Because I, Anyway, listen, I understand you apologizing to your kids first because my thought is they're in, some of them are in school. You know, you got your 28 year old, but you have kids in school.
Nicole Curtis
Yeah.
Jessalarius
And they have, they may have black friends, you know what I'm saying? And for them to see their friend's mom use the term and then they could be bullied for that. They could have to pay that price for something that you said for that term, that you said something. I understand you apologizing to them, but is that because that may affect what, you know, they go to school. You said you got a 10 year old.
Nicole Curtis
No, I apologize to them because I have like, that is just like we live in Detroit. Yeah, we live in Detroit. Like I'm not like the south side. I'm not, dude, I'm in the, I'm in the Detroit that you don't see in trendy and upcoming Detroit. Right. I've been in Detroit. Like, like my grandparents were born and raised in Detroit. Like, I am not made for TV Detroit. Okay. There are a couple people. I, I, I don't even know if I can say, Can I say, am I in the hood?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't even know, you know your best friends are black and you live in the hood.
Nicole Curtis
No, but I'm, I'm, listen, I'm not
Jessalarius
usually says what up though.
Nicole Curtis
No, but I'm sorry, I got, no, I got my Pandora playing, so I'm sorry.
Angela Yee
She was outside.
Nicole Curtis
What I'm saying is like now I'm like, whatever I say, it's going to piss People off. But I will say this.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I want you to live your truth.
Charlamagne Tha God
No.
Nicole Curtis
And what my truth is, is I would say I live in Detroit. I am a Detroiter. I'm not it. I didn't bring. I didn't create and be like, ooh, Detroit's hot and trendy right now. Can I go do my show in Detroit? I'm not some token white bitch that walked down the street and decided, I'm gonna go to Detroit, I'm gonna shoot a show. I'm in Detroit. I had a fight to go to Detroit. I went to Detroit before Detroit was trendy, before it was. I don't like news Detroit, to be honest with you. I like it how it was. And that's what I. That's why I restore the houses.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What are just some things you plan to do to maybe provide some healing for the people you hurt?
Nicole Curtis
I'm going to continue the work that I have done, okay? And that's. And again, I don't, I don't. I don't invest in Detroit and sell properties and make money. I fight that. I go and restore historical pieces of our history in Detroit where, where they're not getting federal grants, where there's not state money, where, where the, the big developers aren't going in because. Because those neighborhoods, those people that have lived in Detroit all their life, right? And even, like, even I have bought houses to save people from losing their houses as a tax foreclosure. That's what I'm saying. I have fought. I have fought these cities about turning our cities that have people that have lived in them all their lives and then yanking their homes from them or tearing their homes down and then building, you know, all of this stuff, that's what I'm going to continue doing. I'm going to continue my work like that. What happened and that's what I do is that I'm in my neighborhoods working like that, that investing my own money that I don't have to. I don't get money back from investing in Detroit because I'm investing in negative market value areas, okay? There is no market value. There's nothing for me to gain except for rebuilding, rebuilding our history there. That's what's important to me. When you rebuild history, when you maintain that history and that uniqueness, that neighborhood can thrive and survive, thrive and survive. And that's my battle in all these, these cities that I've lived in, is that you have to have sustainability. And it's not going to be in your trendy new markets. It's not going to be bringing in the white people so they can have a studio apartment now. Right. It's going to be surviving those neighborhoods that were already there, keeping the uniqueness, keeping the history, keeping it intact, keeping the people that made that city have been in that city their entire lives, making it so that they can stay there.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So you make affordable housing for the people who've always lived.
Nicole Curtis
There's no such thing as affordable housing. Do you not know that? That's all of. That's all a. Like a non profit's not a non profit. They make profit.
DJ Envy
Nicole, I think what you should do is what you're saying that you're doing in Detroit. There's a lot of young African American people in Detroit that would love to learn from you and that would love to learn in a way that they can understand what this industry is, how to build. And that's what you should do. You should teach that from your point of view, because you've been there. You know how to get cheap. You know how to do the construction. That's what you should do. Hire black contractors, hire by contractors, teachers.
Nicole Curtis
And that's what I'm saying. That is what my work has been about.
DJ Envy
Black investors.
Nicole Curtis
That is what my work has been about. Because that's what we've been doing. If people think that me saying that word is okay, then I'm. That is. That's why I was so disappointed.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Just apologize. Apologize to black people.
Mimi Brown
I do.
Nicole Curtis
I did and I do. I apologize.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
The camera's right there.
Nicole Curtis
Yes, I do. And to everyone out there, just charlamagne. So you're aware that is a word that I do not condone. So the people out there that do not use me as an example, right, that's where I've been coming out against people saying, hey, just because I said it, I made a mistake. I know I made a mistake. You watch that footage, even the edited bull. So, no, don't use me as your poster child for that bull.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And I don't want you to think that coming on the Breakfast Club is just going to rehabilitate your image.
Nicole Curtis
Absolutely not.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
In fact, it might increase the chances of you walking through the airport and somebody going, that's the fart.
Nicole Curtis
Yeah. No, I mean, you have a lot of people watching. And again, I didn't. I didn't come on here to prove myself. I came on here. You said some questions about me. Like you had some questions. Get it from the source.
DJ Envy
Okay?
Nicole Curtis
Right, Ladies and gentlemen, when you have a dispute, get it from the source.
DJ Envy
That is Nicole Curtis, and it is the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Thank you for joining us. And what we'll do is let's open up the phone lines. We'll take her to Breakfast Club court next hour.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't think you gotta take it to court. I think you should just open up the phone line to get people's reaction.
DJ Envy
800.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She Guilty. What are we talking about?
DJ Envy
800. 5, 8, 5. 10, 5 1. What are your thoughts on Nicole Curtis? Call us up right now. We'll take your calls in a little bit. But let's get to the latest.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You're talking LL Cool.
Angela Yee
Yeah. I'm not dumbing myself down. I'm being myself. I'm the homegirl that knows a little bit about everything and everything. Girls look at you and go, I want to be like you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Take me through that.
Angela Yee
Take me through there.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She gone.
DJ Envy
The latest with Laura on the Breakfast Club.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
LL Cool B. Talk to me.
Angela Yee
So Dwight Howard has. We talked about him and his wife now estranged yesterday because Dwight Howard has filed for divorce from Amber Howard or Amy of love and hip hop. And he says that the relationship or the marriage is irretrievably broken.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Now, why is she not in jail? She was on the Internet with at least a half a brick of cocaine.
DJ Envy
Watch.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nothing.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Jail. That's probably why.
Jessalarius
That's probably why I want that divorce. Like, girl, you don't take my coke out this house. I don't know, on the Internet for everybody to see.
Angela Yee
But here's the thing, because y' all remember, like, last year, she. This happened again. Like, she filed for divorce, and then they got back together. So when I saw that, I'm like, okay, is this just something that they do? But then I saw Amy comment on some of the reporting of this online, saying that he beat her to the courthouse. So then TMZ after that, did a story with a source, and the source is saying that Amy or Amber had planned to file that same day. She was working on it with her attorneys, but his paperwork was processed first. And that they're still living in the same here recently. Yeah, like in this new one. So this time when Dwight Howard filed for divorce, she was on her way to do the same. Paperwork was there from what it seems, but her paperwork or his paperwork went through first. Now they're still living in the same house in Georgia.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Where is the cocaine?
Angela Yee
I don't know.
DJ Envy
I'm sure she threw it out, but
Angela Yee
she could all that. You throw that out.
Jessalarius
That's what I'm saying.
Nicole Curtis
You talk.
DJ Envy
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
What are you gonna do with it?
Jessalarius
That's what she should have been doing. She should have been handling that before coming to the Internet and everything.
DJ Envy
Because if you. Dwight, you gonna say, I want a divorce.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Because the white around your wife has
DJ Envy
some cocaine and I don't know where it came from.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
All I know is there is a woman with a half a kilo of cocaine somewhere in Atlanta that the federal authorities have not responded to yet. Okay, where is the cocaine?
Angela Yee
Well, there. There's also a reporting too. TMZ had went and they did a cause of service request. So that's basically where you can ask the police. How many times were the cops called to a certain address? And they found that in the last 14 days, the cops have been called three times to that house. So they've been.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Hell yeah. With all that cocaine, that ain't no surprise. All that cocaine in the house. I don't know who using it. But if there's that much co. Cocaine in the house, cops are going to be called numerous times because they wiling in there.
Jessalarius
Yeah. And were the kids taken away? Well, okay, because that's what it's supposedly about.
Angela Yee
I. I haven't seen anything concrete on that. I did. I did see in Amy's response, she said that he should be focused on the kids because that's the issue here and not divorce and whatever. And I know in some of the reporting, when they talked about the fact that they were still living together, they mentioned that his son was in California with him over the last couple days and she was home. I don't really know what's happening on the CPS side, so I can't answer that indefinitely. But yeah, so speaking of Georgia and Atlanta. So Magic City. Now, y' all know there's been this big argument back and forth about whether the Atlanta Hawks can do the Magic City night or not, which is where they planned to use Magic City to celebrate. And strippers weren't even going to be dancing, uh, during the, you know, this celebration game thing that they were doing. But, uh, officially, uh, the NBA just came in and they canceled the event indefinitely. So it was supposed to happen on March 16, but there has been so many concerns because of it being paired with Magic City.
DJ Envy
What kind of celebration was it? Was it just Magic City was open and they were showing the game because they were playing Orlando Magic and it just tied together?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
No, it's Magic City Night. So they had Magic City merchandise. They got TI Performing.
Angela Yee
There was supposed to be music, food,
DJ Envy
merch at the venue, at the arena, at the Arena.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Because what people may not realize is one of the owners of the Hawks. I can't remember her name.
Angela Yee
No, not owner.
Nicole Curtis
Sorry.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She's. She's a Tony wrestler's wife. Look up who Tony wrestler's wife is. I can't remember her name. She's one of the owners of the Hawks. She was also one of the producers on the Magic City documentary. So it would make sense for her to want to do Magic City Night. Why wouldn't you want to celebrate a cultural institution like Magic City? When you think of brands in Atlanta, there's five that come to mind immediately for me. Coca Cola, the Hawks, the Falcons, the Braves, and Magic City.
Angela Yee
Jamie Gertz. Are you talking about Jamie Gertz? Yes. When Melissa Proctor worked on the.
DJ Envy
But there was gonna be no dancers, the strippers, the arena. Correct?
Angela Yee
No, no, that's what I'm saying. Like, it was going to just basically be. Because strip club culture is the culture of Atlanta, like you just said.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So Magic City is a cultural institution. Five brands in Atlanta that I think of. Coca Cola, the Brave, the Falcons, the Hawks. Magic City. It's a beautiful thing to see two corporations like Magic City and the Hawks coming together, you know, for Magic City Night.
Angela Yee
But because, you know, so the San Antonio Spur player, Luke Cornett, his comments sparked the whole conversation. I think, honestly, just for somebody else,
DJ Envy
too, was like Al Horford, too, was
Angela Yee
something I. I know people are pointing to Luke Kernick because he was one of the first. There was a lot of critics, but he was one of the first.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What is he, Christian? Gay? What is it?
Angela Yee
He was just talking about the fact that it was. It sends a bad message to the women of the NBA and that they should get rid of the event. And I just think the NBA as a business probably just doesn't want all the drama.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What about the wnba? Women? Love Magic City. Okay.
Angela Yee
Love Magic City.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
WNBA women be up in Magic City, too. But also. So when you think Magic City, I don't think of just a, a, a, a, A strip club. It's a place to network that has great food. Their food is so good that they ship nationwide through Gold Valley.
Angela Yee
But here's the issue. The issue when. When the NBA made their announcement of it not happening, what they said. A part of what they said was that they appreciate the team's perspective and their desire to move forward, but they're hearing significant concerns. Their league stakeholders, including fans, partners and employees. Stakeholders. You know, I mean,
DJ Envy
it's difficult when you're not from Atlanta and you don't Know the culture, right? Because all you see is strip club, gentlemen's club and you think it's the worst. Like you said. Well, because you've been there before.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Great black owned business with great food.
DJ Envy
I think of music, breaking music, I think of food. And yes, there are dances there as well. But you go there and you break music there.
Angela Yee
Look, I don't know, it's not happening.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Ain't none of them stakeholders been the Magic since City then. Because they wouldn't even feel like that if they've actually been to Magic City. And once again, the young one, what's her name?
Charlamagne Tha God
Jamie Gertz, right?
Angela Yee
Yes.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Is Tony Wrestler's wife, I believe.
Angela Yee
Tony Wrestler, Yes. Tony Wrestler is one of the owners of Atlanta Hawks. That is his wife.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She's also a primary owner as well. She was in one of the producers of the Magic City documentary. Yeah, she's been there before obviously, of course. And she understands the cultural institution that Magic City is. So I don't have a problem with Magic City night at the Atlanta.
Angela Yee
I know Mr. Magic, like if y' all don't just leave us alone and let us do what we do.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yo, the NBA is connected to every gambling, you know, organization there is right now. All of the different.
Jessalarius
This is where you draw the line.
DJ Envy
Yeah, that's a good way to put it. You're a part of every gambling. You could gamble on everything. First shot, second shot, three pointers. But Magic City's bag, something.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Come on, man.
Angela Yee
Yes. Well, that is the latest for the hour and next, next latest we we'll get into some, some things because we have an update on Kanye west and where he's going to be at next.
DJ Envy
Now when is the game? When is the game supposed to be?
Angela Yee
Well, this event was supposed to be March 16, so 16.
DJ Envy
Magic City should still do an event at, at Magic City.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Okay?
DJ Envy
Yeah, they should still do it there.
Angela Yee
You thought they stopped the living pepper wings because the NBA said no, no,
DJ Envy
no, I mean still do that event that night because it's supposed to be Atlanta Hawks vs. Orlando Magic, which made the whole Magic City thing, which would have been dope.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Salute to Magic City. I love Magic City. Okay. My wife loves Magic City. All right. Magic City. When I went to Magic City and you know, I didn't get my wings, cuz somebody went to the window and said they was with me and they wasn't with me and they took our wings. Magic City shipped out them lemon pepper wings to us, man, via Gold belly. So I nothing but love and magic. Salute to Magic Magic salute to lala. Everybody there at magic.
DJ Envy
I'm sure they just leaving now. All right, now, donkey today. Who you?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I'll be there next month for the. When we there for the black effect podcast festival. I will be at magic city.
DJ Envy
Make sure your credit card is down.
Angela Yee
Exactly. I'm going wherever your credit card go.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What?
Angela Yee
Nothing.
Jessalarius
Who you?
DJ Envy
Give me a donkey, too.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Four after the hour. We need Charles Montgomery island to come to the front of the congregation. As my grandmother would say, Lord, I never seen a time like this.
DJ Envy
All right, we'll get to that next. And don't forget, we're gonna take your calls when we come back as well. Nicole Curtis, she just stopped through. That's the woman that said fart. And we just want to hear your. Your thoughts. It's the breakfast club. Good morning.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I just wanted to know how you came up with this. Don't be in a dick
Angela Yee
because you're mean. I am not.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
There's a bunch of donkeys out here in the streets. If we live a life where we bite our tongue based off who we may offend, we never would say anything.
DJ Envy
On the breakfast club.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
In the words of Charlemagne, the God, he's a donkey.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, man. Charlamagne. You giving donkey today? To who now?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Well, busta rhymes donkey Today for Tuesday, March 10th goes to Charles Montgomery Allen. He's 40 years old, and he's from my beautiful home state of South Carolina. But he is not a beautiful person, okay? In fact, he represents the worst of us because I have no idea what the hell is wrong with humans anymore. Every day I wake up and I read a story that reminds me of why Jesus is not coming back. Back. Okay, he's not. I wouldn't. Okay, All y' all gonna do is make ridiculous memes about him anyway. Can you imagine to think pieces with no thought about Jesus? If he came back, it would be so many ridiculous YouTube videos calling Jesus a fraud. Okay, Jesus, don't even waste your time. Oh, geez. Just keep watching over us from afar, okay? I have read all the stories about u. S. Service members who were told the war with Iran is meant to cause armageddon or the end of biblical times. People, that right there is yet another reason Jesus not coming back. Okay? Y' all always attaching his name to foolishness. But I'm saying all of this because my grandmother used to always say, lord, I never seen a time like this. And this was the 80s and 90s. Here we are in 2026. Here I am in 2026 at the big old age of 47 saying Lord, I ain't never seen a time like this. Okay? There's so much evil in the world, but there's also so much untreated mental illness in the world world. And untreated mental illness, mental health disorders can absolutely drive criminal behavior. And in the case of Charles Allen, I don't know if he had any mental health issues. Maybe I'm just hoping he did because it would help me understand why he committed such a heinous act of violence. Would you like to know what Charles Allen Montgomery did? Well, let's go to 9abc for the report, please.
DJ Envy
A man in South Carolina will spend the rest of his life in prison after he admitted to shooting and killing an 8 year old from, from Portsmouth Queries. Dunham was just vacationing with his family in Florin, South Carolina back in 2022 when he was hit in the neck by a bullet. Dunham's father was also shot but survived. Officials say Charles Montgomery Allen was randomly firing a gun at passing vehicles when it hit the Dunhams and some other people. Yesterday he pleaded guilty to one count of murder and five counts of attempted murder.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
First things first. Rest in peace the eight year old Queries Dunham, as you just heard, vacationing with his family in Florence, South Carolina and was shot and kill by Charles Montgomery Allen because Charles was randomly, randomly firing a gun at passing vehicles.
Angela Yee
Why?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Why, why, why Charles, if you wanted to be a first person shooter, there's so many video games for that. Call of duty isn't enough. Battlefield 6 dead space. You couldn't go to the gun range. You couldn't wait until it was deer hunting season. Like there's so many different ways you could choose to bust your, your gun. There's so many different ways you could exercise your second amendment rights but you decided to randomly shoot at passing vehicles. I really wish people like this would turn the gun on themselves first before they decided to shoot at random people. I would much rather you take yourself out than be shooting at random passing vehicles and end up doing what you did, which was kill an 8 year old boy for no reason. As you heard in the news report, the young man's father was also shot, but he survived. And I am sending that brother healing energy because some things are just out of the realm of my understanding and I couldn't possibly understand what that father has been going through the past few years. And I pray to God that I never have to feel anything remotely to what he's felt. Okay, now the Justice Department got it right. It's great that this man got sinister forever in prison, but that's not bringing queries back. And it still doesn't make us understand why Charles did this in the first place. I'm from South Carolina, born and raised. There's a lot of things I grew up loving to do, okay? Shooting at random cause was never one of them. Okay? All right. The fact that we are forced to have to deal with each other's crazy on a regular. The problem is, back in the day, we were all segregated, okay? Kids like Charles ate lunch before everyone else. They was in those trailers in the back. They rode the bus that was shaped like Drew Ski. Now we all in the real world together, and nobody knows knows who's who. And some of those people have grown up, and those untreated mental health disorders are driving criminal behavior. I have nothing else to offer, okay? This conversation, because this defies human logic. And it's times like this that I just have to remember Proverbs 3. 5. Lean not on your own understanding, okay? I have to trust in God's wisdom rather than relying on my human logic, because my human logic can. Can't even understand, can't even comprehend why the hell Charles was just shooting at random passing vehicles. Okay? This is a time that calls for full surrender because nothing about this situation makes sense to me. All right? Please give Charles Montgomery Allen the biggest he. Ho. You gotta tell me, son. You gotta tell me there's a mental health disorder. You got to tell me that there was cocaine involved. You got to tell me that there was some alcohol, something. Still don't. Meth. Like what caused him to just want to randomly.
Jessalarius
Yeah.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Shoot at passing vehicles. Just.
DJ Envy
It's still. That's just.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't get it, man. Rest in peace to Aquarius Dunham sending healing, healing energy to his family. Eight years old, man. Horrible.
DJ Envy
All right, well, thank you for that. Donkey of the day.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yes, indeed.
DJ Envy
Now, when we come back, Nicole Curtis just joined us. You know, she's the young lady from hgtv. She has a show. She'll had a show called Rehab addict, and she was the one that said fart, fart, fart.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
N word.
DJ Envy
That's right.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I know it sounds like you'll be having a stroke every time you say that, but he's saying fart n word, right? Yes. White woman who said fart N word.
DJ Envy
So we just talked to her last hour and want to hear your thoughts. The phone line's already lit up, so
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
it's kind of crazy. She reached out to Lauren LaRosa after I gave her donkey of the day. And for whatever reason, she decided she wanted to come on Breakfast Club to explain herself.
DJ Envy
She said she wanted to clear it up.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And I don't know what she expected.
DJ Envy
I mean.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well.
DJ Envy
Well, we'll take your calls when we come back. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning. Morning, everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Charlemagne, the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. If you're just joining us last hour, Nicole Curtis joined us. She was from hgtv. She had a show called Rehab Addict. She was the young lady that said fart, Nick.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Fart. Fart. N word.
DJ Envy
Fart inward on as she was taping.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Do we have a clip of her saying it?
Nicole Curtis
Why?
Angela Yee
It's my last one.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, fart.
Nicole Curtis
What the is that? That I just said, Nick, you gotta. You gotta. Can you kill that? Oh, my life.
DJ Envy
So she did an interview. She wanted to apologize.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She did an interview.
DJ Envy
We did an interview with her, I should say. Yeah, we did an interview with her. She apologized. She said she wanted to clear things up. And the phone lines have been lit ever since. So I think it's right that we go to the phone lines and talk to the people.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Hello?
DJ Envy

We know parents want to feel confident as their teens navigate social media. With Instagram teen accounts, teens get automatic protections by default. Teens between the ages of 13 to 17 are automatically put into a protective experience. That means they get built in content settings for what they see, contact limits on who can contact them, and time management tools like daily time limit reminders as well as sleep modes mode, which mutes notifications from 10pm to 7am plus, teens under 16 need a parent's permission to change any of these settings to be less strict. teenaccounts this past weekend, like every other Sunday, you were on the court with the guys playing ball. Just a quick pickup game, living out your hoop dreams. No triple doubles, but mean Set of threes in between buckets. One of the homies mentioned he closed on a new crib. This is big. And while everyone's asking about housewarming and making plans to celebrate, you're asking the real questions. Like, has he spoken to his State Farm agent yet about coverage? See, homeownership is one thing, but the right coverage is the real game changer. Even more than your last hot strength, this is how you protect your legacy. Dropping buckets and bars on the court. A State Farm agent can more than assist you with finding the right coverage for your new place. If you have a claim, your local agent can help you file it. Yep, that's right. Over the phone, in person, online, or on the app, they are ready to help you and they don't drop the ball. You know what I mean? Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.

Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, I'm mixed definitely.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So you can only say my dad black.
Charlamagne Tha God
My mom, he said, I'm from Florida. So we always say the N word.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
No, you can also say, okay, so
Charlamagne Tha God
let's go to this lady. Let's go to this lady real quick. This lady was not directing that towards nobody. Charlamagne, you be trolling, man. Y' all take things too serious. That lady hold reputation on the line. And she didn't refer to nobody. Not talking about a specific person, just blurting out some. Now, was she wrong? The lady admitted she was wrong. Yeah, but for her to have her whole life, y' all tripping.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Come on, bro, that ain't gonna do. We didn't ruin our life. Listen, your words have consequences. If I say something on this radio that offends somebody and you know, I end up losing my, my position for it, that, that's on me.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, but it depends on what you say.
DJ Envy
No, no, no, that was her, she said it. She, she gotta face her own consequences.
Jessalarius
And she did want to come here.
DJ Envy
Yes.
Jessalarius
Like she wanted to come up here to have a conversation.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yes. She got to deal with the consequences of her actions. I mean, I, I, I, I understand what you're saying. Yes. Everybody should, you know, be, be given forgiveness and you know, you should be able to make mistakes, but you still got to deal with the consequences of what you did.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's just that I'm 30, bro. I'm 37 years old.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And you have white.
Charlamagne Tha God
When I grew up, we didn't have cyber bullying. We didn't have where somebody just blew up and it became just picking on somebody. We got Donald Trump. You know what we got out there? And everybody worried about what this lady said. Talking about some fart. Come on, bro, what are we talking about here?
DJ Envy
See, this is the bad thing, right? In all these different communities, there's derogatory terms for every community. A group of people. Right, right. But we're the only group that when somebody says it, we give somebody, we let, we let it slide. If you would have said it's something to a Jewish person, something to a Spanish person, something to any other Asian person, there's gonna be consequences. Right?
Charlamagne Tha God
Wrong. Yeah, right.
DJ Envy
But yeah, but you're saying, oh, fart. It's something I've never heard before. It's cool.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So and so, so I don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
She was just saying stuff. She wasn't even like talking too fast, man. She talking.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I understand your half white side wants to come to her defense, but people got to deal with the consequences of their actions. Yeah, they do.
Jessalarius
But I, I get what he's saying. But yeah, not cuz he mixed, but I definitely get what he's saying. I don't think the lady is a racist. But yeah, she definitely effed up and she said some effed up is so yeah.
DJ Envy
Hello? Who's this?
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, this M. What's up? Every.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
How you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Good morning. Good morning. Good morning.
Jessalarius
Where you calling from, man?
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm from dc. I'm from dc okay.
Jessalarius
What's up, baby?
Charlamagne Tha God
What's oh, what's up? Yes. Hey baby, what's going on? What's good?
Jessalarius
What's good, Boo?
DJ Envy
Heavy stuff, energy. But go ahead, talk to her.
Jessalarius
She is Not a stud. Shut up.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, you know, damn. Still she wash my mouth. I don't know. Watch your mouth, boy. Watch your mouth.
DJ Envy
I'm sorry. Go ahead, continue on.
Charlamagne Tha God
All right, all right, all right. The little lady. Little lady, she came all the way up there talking, all that, but she never apologized. And then she talking in the background, talking about.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She did.
Charlamagne Tha God
When you watch her show, at the end of each one of her episodes, she tell you how much she paid for the house. House. How much you gonna sell the house? How much you gonna profit off the house? You always make a profit. She never sell a house or less than 350 in Detroit. That's a lot of money for a house. So she was doing a lot of profit without apologizing.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She did apologize, though.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I never heard the fake word. Excuse me, black community. I apologize.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah, I made her look at the camera and apologize.
Jessalarius
Okay, because you. You can't say that like, like, who did you apologize? You was like, to who?
DJ Envy
Who did you apologize?
Jessalarius
She kissed my kids.
DJ Envy
Now, she did apologize.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She did apologize. Yeah, I made her look at the camera and apologize. Yeah, she did.
DJ Envy
You could tell she was also very, very nervous, right?
Jessalarius
Trying to overly explain 800, but she was trying to use the right word. She want to say I'm in the hood. She kept saying like, I'm in Detroit. Like Detroit, Detroit. Not gentrified Detroit, but Detroit.
DJ Envy
She has black friends. That's what she said.
Jessalarius
But she ain't even want to say that cuz she was scared of him over there.
DJ Envy
Now, Nicole Curtis stopped through early. If you don't know who Nicole Curtis this is, she's the former host of the AGTV show Rehab Addict. And she said fart. N word on while she was recording. This is. Let's listen. Let's play the audio.
Nicole Curtis
Why?
Angela Yee
It's my last one.
Nicole Curtis
Oh, fart. What the is that that I just said? Nick, you gotta, you gotta. Can you kill that? My life.
DJ Envy
So we're asking, what are your thoughts? 800-585-1051. Hello, who's this?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, this J from NC.
DJ Envy
Jay, what up, bro?
Charlamagne Tha God
Man, why we always gotta getty people up ass? Man, she just trying to do damage control.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I agree.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? It's like they. They say what they say all the time and then when they get caught. Now let me explain myself. Like, she told on herself. She was in the comfort of home. She said all the time and then just got caught.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Okay, I agree. I mean, listen. And you got to deal with the consequences of your words.
Jessalarius
Now if that is true, if she just would have said that, that would have been way better than all of that beating around the bush that she was doing. Yo, if you just say it, just say you say it.
DJ Envy
But the thing is, she said. She replaces curses, right? Like she says fart digger, Fart digger. But all. If you. That was the case, all you have to do is just prove all the times that you said it. Yeah. So this is what I said it in a slip. People would be more understanding, but not just out the blue, cuz we've never even heard that term.
Angela Yee
Yeah.
DJ Envy
Hello? Who's this from?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Naptown?
Angela Yee
317.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
317. What's up, Britney?
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey, what's up, y'? All? So I got a lot to say about her coming up there. For one, she needs donkey of the day again.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Hey, again. Okay, because.
Charlamagne Tha God
Again. Because it was pointless. What was the point of the conversation? She didn't apologize to the black community.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She did apologize. We must have cut that part out because she did apologize. I better look at the camera and apologize.
Nicole Curtis
That is. That's why I was so disappointed.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Apologize to black people.
Angela Yee
I do.
Nicole Curtis
I did and I do. I apologize.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
The camera's right there. Just.
Nicole Curtis
Yes, I do.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Well, well, well.
Charlamagne Tha God
Let's just say this. He wasn't good enough. She got. You stayed her little tail where she was at. Right? Cause.
Jessalarius
Cause what you're saying is like, he still had to make her do it. She didn't come up here. That should have been the first thing she started with.
Charlamagne Tha God
That should have been the first.
Jessalarius
It wasn't.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It was pointless.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And that's the only reason I made her do it. Because I'm just like, what is all of this rambling about?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah. She did nothing but ramble the entire time. I wasn't pleased with it. And I'm sure nobody else was either.
DJ Envy
Well, thank you for calling, mama.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
It was very pointless.
DJ Envy
Hello, who's this?
Charlamagne Tha God
Hi, this is Jamie. Call in from Philly.
DJ Envy
Talk to us.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey, so I'm calling to make a comment on that HDTV broad.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yes, ma'. Am.
Charlamagne Tha God
She got on here and she said a bunch of nothing. Basically what she's doing is she's trying to hold up her image to say that she's not like that and want to highlight all of the things that she's accomplished. That N word is the joke in every Caucasian household all the time. They're very conscious of where they're saying it and when they're saying it's. It and who's around when they're saying it. This time it slipped. She forgot where she was because she was caught up in the moment of what she was doing on her show. That's what I'm calling to say. I'm not buying that there's other words that can be said. They know that that word is degrading. It's the reason I come there using it.
DJ Envy
Okay, thank you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Period.
DJ Envy
Period.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Okay.
Jessalarius
That's right.
DJ Envy
Hello? Who's this?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, good morning. Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike.
DJ Envy
What's up? Talk to us. We calling from Mike.
Charlamagne Tha God
Mike, I'm calling you from New Jersey.
DJ Envy
All right.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Hi, Mike.
DJ Envy
What's your thoughts, Mike?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, I felt as though she seemed like a genuine person, but coming on the show didn't really help her much because she didn't show too much accountability. It was always and again and again and again. Right. So she was very much defending herself. And to be quite honest, I don't use a lot of words, but for something to flip from the mind to the tongue, it had to be in the thoughts. At some point, she could have chosen any other word or an intelligence word, but that came out. And at the end, you guys were giving her great advice on how she can repair this. But instead of listening, she was all about, yeah, I do that. Yeah.
Jessalarius
Responding.
Angela Yee
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
For a moment, just listen. I get you guys are having fun over there, too, but for a moment, like, you guys were being serious and trying to help her, but it still lacks the comfortability. So I think coming on this show, you guys hurt her because she didn't make. She didn't make it any better. She just made it work.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah.
DJ Envy
That was her fault, right?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. You guys, I guess as much as you all were having fun, as you were being very genuine, trying to see human to human with her, and at some point she's saying, I didn't say it, but in the audience that she said. So I'm confused as to. Did you say it or did you not?
DJ Envy
She said, no, she said it.
Jessalarius
She said, I know. Saying I can show you the raw. I don't know what that from her mouth.
Charlamagne Tha God
Sometimes she is saying, I didn't say it, but I didn't mean it. So it's contradicting statements and to claim it leaked. You said one other person had access to this, but suddenly it's you. You're not sure who it could be. How many persons have access to the code in your phone. Charlemagne. That you can't tell who would send the video out of your Phone or an audio, you gotta know who did it.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
No, nobody.
Charlamagne Tha God
Exactly. So she doesn't seem like a bad person. She just seems like one of those persons that would say something and say, hey, I have black friends. She doesn't seem like she would slap a black person, but she's. She's not considerate at all. Right.
DJ Envy
Thank you for calling, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, man. Take it easy.
DJ Envy
All right, well, is there more to the story?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah, I mean, just for me, as a person who has had to deal with the consequences of their words, I don't feel sorry for her. I don't feel no sympathy for her at ever. If you say something and you offend people and you lose something for it, that's on you. You have to hold yourself accountable for that. And I don't appreciate people who play victim, you know, after they say something and then people hold them accountable for it. Like, you're not the victim here.
DJ Envy
I will say this, though. If she was the type of person that uses other words for curse words like fart digger and fart knocker, and these are things that she said before in the past, and we would see this, then I would feel a little. I would feel a little bad for her because I'll be like, okay. Because you see, news casters do it all the time when they say something and you know all types of words. But if that's not the case, that word just came from nowhere.
Jessalarius
Yeah.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
And we don't know this woman.
DJ Envy
I know, but that's what I'm saying.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
We're not with her 24.
DJ Envy
But that's what I'm saying.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
But if.
DJ Envy
If she did it on the show, those terms would be on the show because she's done the show for 10 plus years.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I call you Fraggle maggot. And you know why it comes out so easy? Because I use it all the time. Correct. Okay.
Angela Yee
Correct.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So that, like, you know, I'm not. I don't know. I don't know this woman personally. I just know she said what she said and she got to deal with the consequences of that moment.
Charlamagne Tha God
Right.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I don't care about nothing else. You got to deal with the consequences of that moment.
DJ Envy
Right. And then they overly explained just. My bad.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm sorry.
DJ Envy
Yeah, I'm sorry. It was just too much. Well, you know, I have friends that's here. And again and again, you know, yo, I'm sorry. I. I said something I shouldn't have said. I don't know where it came from. I apologize. I'm sorry.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
If you're Doing too much explaining. You probably losing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Correct.
Jessalarius
She wanted to come here.
DJ Envy
Yes, she did. All right, well, when we come back, we got the latest with Lauren. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, Lauren.
Jessalarius
Becoming a straight fan.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She gets them from somebody that knows somebody. Details.
Angela Yee
I'm the homegirl that knows a little bit about everything and everybody.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She be having the latest on
DJ Envy
the
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Latest with Lauren LaRosa. Facts. Sometimes you have details. Sometimes you have a little bit of everything brought to you by Top Dog
DJ Envy
Law on the Breakfast Club.
Angela Yee
All right, guys, so Kanye west is getting back on the stage in the U.S. so he announced, or it was announced yesterday, that he is going to be doing his first show in the US in LA. This is his first show in LA in five years. The last time he did a show in LA, it was back in 2021. That was the Free Larry Hoover concert that he did alongside Drake. And he was supposed to do something in 2022 at SoFi Stadium, but that was when he did the whole White Lives Matter shirt thing. So that show didn't happen. But he's back and it'll be going down.
DJ Envy
Is this coming with new music or do we know? Because I know one time he's doing an album or something like that, right?
Angela Yee
Yes. So he does have a bully that is supposed to be happening. So, yeah. And this show will happen on April 3, so depending on that. Supposed to be dropping in March, but it keeps. We keep.
Charlamagne Tha God
We.
Angela Yee
It was one date and then we found out it was March. And so if as long as the music comes, yeah, there will be some new music, but you never know with Kanye. But yeah, so he'll be back there.
Jessalarius
Yep.
Angela Yee
Now, in other news, Gary Owen is married, y'.
Charlamagne Tha God
All.
Angela Yee
Yes. Yes. So he.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Oh, he told us he was getting married last time he was here.
DJ Envy
Yeah, he did.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah.
Angela Yee
Well, last time he was here, he said that he had, like, proposed, but he didn't really want to give too much information. Let's take a listen to the last time Gary Own was here. There were rumors that you proposed to your current girlfriend.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yep.
Angela Yee
You did.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Okay.
DJ Envy
Okay. Gary, talk that truck.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, I did.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Oh, congratulations.
Angela Yee
Did you post about that?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Huh?
Angela Yee
Did you post about that?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
She did.
Angela Yee
Okay.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I didn't. Why? I didn't know she was going to post about it. Did you like. She just did it. I was like, whoa, I thought we're going to keep this low. Oh, so you didn't like it or shared or nothing? It's not you didn't like it. It was just. I thought we Were keeping it somewhat off the Internet. Cuz everything I went through with the other one, I heard everything.
DJ Envy
Yeah.
Angela Yee
So it came out in People magazine as an exclusive. And the way that they did the wedding. So he had.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I was shocked to see Gary and People. I'm not gonna lie.
Jessalarius
Dang.
Angela Yee
He can't get Netflix or People magazine.
Jessalarius
I mean, but it's all People.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
But only because Gary has been keeping the situation so close to his vest. I didn't think that he would.
DJ Envy
But he told us behind the scenes. He told us behind the scenes.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
That's my whole point. Genius. God damn, boy.
Jessalarius
Yeah.
DJ Envy
This guy's crazy.
Angela Yee
So they're.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I'm crazy.
Angela Yee
They did the wedding in Houston. There were 170 guests. Now this is cool. So he used all of his Think Like a man and Think like a man. Two co stars. So Terence, Jerry Ferreira, Michael Ely, they. Will Packer, they were all there.
DJ Envy
Yeah.
Angela Yee
And they all served as his grooms.
DJ Envy
I don't think Kevin Hart was there. I think he was shooting a movie.
Angela Yee
Yeah, he's not listed. They were. They all served as his groom. Groomsmen. And then, I mean he had other notable guests there as well too. Ocho Cinco actually officiated the wedding. He posted and said a special thank you for allowing me as you.
Nicole Curtis
Your.
Angela Yee
As a brother of the cloth and newly anointed officiant to marry you both. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness. Here's to a long and happy marriage. So yeah, they did the thing. Congratulations to them.
Jessalarius
Was it like any other like, like his own friends or like other white family members? Like it was just all co stars. Like in the wedding.
Angela Yee
It wasn't that. I see, I. I see Roxy Diaz was there. Shayla Cohen. I mean he talked about not being as like close to some of his family.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So you know, been in the business a long time. So I mean those, those are his friends.
Angela Yee
Yes. Yep. So they did the whole thing. Congratulations to them. Now somebody who is not getting a ring and Charlemagne. I don't know what is up with your team and I've been able to do that, but damn.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I want to hear your report.
Angela Yee
Sports Dak Pres. Not Sports Dak Prescott.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I mean he is in sports.
Angela Yee
Cowboys player. But the story that I'm about to talk about. Thank you. The story I'm about to talk about. So a couple days ago the news broke that Dak Prescott and his fiance Sarah Jane Ramos were. That they broke up. Now there was. They're supposed to be getting married on April 10th. So a month from now. Right. So this story broke, and people were trying to figure out why they broke up. There was speculation that it was a prenup situation. So now today.
DJ Envy
Yes.
Angela Yee
Well, her last name is Ramo, so I assume she was, like, Latino or something.
DJ Envy
I mean, but she looks Caucasian. Heavily.
Angela Yee
So basically, a source had to come out and clear up the fact that Sarah was not pressed about a prenup situation. So the conversation was. People were saying that she broke off this marriage a month out of. A month out. I'm sorry. Broke off her engagement a month before her wedding because she had a very tense prenup conversation. So they were down in the Bahamas. They had the bachelor bachelorette party. The bachelor party there. And there was this big argument that happened, and then everything stopped. From reports, it was not about a pre. A prenup. They want to make it clear that Sarah Jane Ramos does well for herself. She's in the spirits and wine industry, and that she comes from a family that does well for them themselves. So it's never been about her money. But the story does say she was not ever asked to sign a prenup.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
So they said her ethnicity is half Italian, Sicilian, a quarter English, and a quarter Spanish. Dr. Umar would be confused.
Angela Yee
Yeah, I. I don't. Yeah. But they were a month out. She had posted a photo of, like, her. All of her, like, bridesmaids, and they. And. And the caption was like, you know, with these girls and this love, I could get through anything. But then some of the posts have now been taken off of her Instagram. So I. I really don't know what's happening and why they split up, but you get to that point and y' all gotta break up. I'll be pretty pissed off. And they sent out an email to. To the guest. Right. And the email basically said. It was a joint email. It says, with heavy hearts, we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for the inconveniences may cause you, and we welcome your prayers. They were supposed to be getting married in Italy. So do you get deposits back and all of that at this point, too? Like, how does that work?
Jessalarius
Insurance on it.
DJ Envy
Italy. We're in Italy.
Angela Yee
Lake Como.
DJ Envy
Really?
Angela Yee
Yeah. What?
DJ Envy
No, I'm out there. You got a number on deck. What?
Angela Yee
You want to borrow his wedding venue
DJ Envy
once he paid for it already.
Angela Yee
Oh, my God.
DJ Envy
Yes.
Angela Yee
That. Oh, you were so.
Jessalarius
And that's where he proposed.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's where.
Jessalarius
Oh, snap. That's where your daughter.
Angela Yee
That's why you like this story? Cuz you want to shoot your sexually fire d Prescott's marriage so you don't
DJ Envy
got to pay for the venue already?
Angela Yee
No, I paid for some flights.
Jessalarius
But what if he can get his money back? Envy?
DJ Envy
It can. It's too late now. Weddings less than a month.
Angela Yee
Figure it out. A month out. I would be devastated it if I have to cancel my wedding.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Hey, man, we got Rashan Gary yesterday, man, dropping the clues bonds for the Dallas Cowboys. Okay. I don't know who dak losing, but I know who we gained.
Angela Yee
All right, well, yeah. That was so mean.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Why was that mean?
Angela Yee
Because it's like it's his wedding. He's been with this girl for a long time. Yes, but anyway, I told you guys
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
yesterday, that Italian, a quarter Sicilian. What else?
Angela Yee
So she was 100%, no quarter, nothing, black woman.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I care about our offensive line and our defense. But I think.
DJ Envy
I think it's only right, though, since he's not getting married at that venue. He paid for the venue already. You know what? If I can use the venue, I think I should be able to use the venue.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
All right.
Angela Yee
I mean, we heard you all three times. Hopefully he did and maybe Sarah did, right?
DJ Envy
Jesus.
Angela Yee
All right, yeah, but we're wrapping up.
Mimi Brown
And.
Angela Yee
And remember yesterday, yesterday, guys, I told you that Brian Steele had asked to be Lil Durk's attorney.
DJ Envy
Yes.
Angela Yee
So the judge granted it. So that's going to be moving forward. That'll be happening. So we'll be keeping you guys posted there as they go into court in August and prepare for that. So. Yeah.
DJ Envy
All right. All right. Well, that is the latest.
Angela Yee
Wait, I forgot to tell the people.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
Yeah.
Angela Yee
Top Dog Law. Speaking of the court, any accident, big or small, call Top Dog Law. Sponsored by Top Dog Law.
DJ Envy
All right, well, salute to Timberland. Of course, today is Timberland's birthday.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
We're going to play some Timbo in the mix.
Angela Yee
Say his name like that.
DJ Envy
Timbo?
Angela Yee
I thought it was Timberland.
DJ Envy
I said Timberland.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
But wait a minute. Today, Bad Bunny. Born day. And you Dominican.
Angela Yee
Why you ain't see what Bad Bunny posted on his Instagram for his birthday?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
No.
DJ Envy
No. Oh, my God. Oh, man.
Angela Yee
It's the Breakfast.

DJ Envy
The Breakfast Club is women's history month.
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
What we doing?
Jessalarius
So we're repping Kayla Richards, played by Halle Berry in the movie Losing Isaiah. So Kayla Richards is a black woman who's struggling with an addiction to crack. Desperate for drugs, she places her infant. Infant son Isaiah in a box and leaves him in the alley behind the crack house. So Kayla, she expected to come back. She promised to be back or whatever. She just needed to leave him somewhere that she thought was safe. But she was after drugs, so she couldn't think straight. The next day, she come back, and he almost got killed by a garbage truck because she put him in the dumpster. But he was gone when she came back, and he was gone. He later ended up in the care of this white woman. So. So what Kayla did was get herself together, and she ended up getting our son back. When she got him back, it wasn't as easy as she thought it was going to be because he had to get to know her again. You know what I mean? He was adopted by this white woman named Margaret, who gave her all the care. Who gave him all the care that. That. That he needed and everything. But basically, I'm highlighting Kayla Richards is because the strength that she had to turn her life around after seeing her son was taken away from for using drugs and the sacrifice that. That she made or whatever, I think that's really, really great that she did that. You can turn your life around no matter what, and our kids make us better. And what the white lady did was help her raise him. She ain't give up. Kayla didn't give up. She saw how it was a strain, like he didn't know her no more. So, like, she didn't give up on trying to raise him, but she called the lady, and they beat. They raised him together. So I think that's dope. Salute to Kayla Richards.
Angela Yee
Okay?
Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
You know, there's real life examples of people you could have found to bring that together that would have hit harder. You know, it's a character.
Jessalarius
No, it's gonna hit where it's gonna hit, exactly how it's supposed to hit. You know why? Because movies are made following the inspiration of people's real lives. It's a lot of Kayla Richards out here, but I ain't want to put now real ex crackhead out there, you know what I'm saying? So I just used the movie version, and we all seen Losing Isaiah, but she lost him, but found him and took care of him.
DJ Envy
All right. Happy Women's History Month, y'.
Charlamagne Tha God
All.
Jessalarius
Can't say that didn't hit hard.
DJ Envy

Charlamagne (alternate or additional speaker)
I do, man. And it comes from my man Don Miguel Ruiz. I encourage everybody to read the Four Agreements. It's one the books that I recommend when people, you know, ask me about books. But Don Miguel Ruiz said in the Four Agreements, if someone is not treating you with love and respect, it is a gift if they walk away from you. If that person doesn't walk away, you will surely endure many years of suffering with him or her. Walking away may hurt for a while, but your heart will eventually heal. Then you can choose what you really want. You will find that you don't need to trust others as much as you need to trust yourself to make the right choices. Have a great day. Podcast: The Breakfast Club
Date: March 10, 2026
Hosts: DJ Envy, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne Tha God
Guest: Nicole Curtis (HGTV’s Rehab Addict)
This episode revolves around two major topics: breaking developments on the shooting at Rihanna’s home (the suspect being charged with attempted murder), and an in-depth, sometimes tense, interview with HGTV’s Nicole Curtis, who recently went viral for using a racial slur during a taping. The show also covers current events, including the ongoing US-Iran conflict, travel chaos from government shutdowns, pop culture news, and listener reactions to Curtis’ controversy.
Memorable Exchange:
Angela Yee: “The use of the N word...dehumanizes people like us. And that’s the real conversation.” (50:15)
Nicole Curtis: “I know that. I don’t use that word...That wasn’t your first time, I swear to God.” (50:22–50:36)
Charlamagne’s take on Nicole Curtis:
“I don’t feel sorry for her. I don’t feel no sympathy for her...You got to deal with the consequences of that moment.” (99:59–101:06)
On mental health and violence:
“There’s so much evil in the world, but there’s also so much untreated mental illness...And untreated mental illness, mental health disorders can absolutely drive criminal behavior.” (80:08–81:06, in Donkey of the Day)
Mimi Brown, on airport chaos:
“Agents are being used as political pawns in this government shutdown...expected to be paid this week. And that paycheck will be $0.00.00.” (36:14–36:41)
Nicole Curtis’ final apology:
“I apologized. The camera’s right there. Yes, I do. And to everyone out there...that is a word that I do not condone...” (69:47–69:50)
