DJ Envy
Morning everybody. It's DJ Envy. Just hilarious. Charlemagne the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. Lauren Larose is here as well. We got a special guest in the building.
Megan Good
Do Megan.
DJ Envy
Good. Welcome back.
Megan Good
Thank you. Thank you.
DJ Envy
How you feeling?
Megan Good
I'm feeling good.
DJ Envy
Good. Think about that.
Megan Good
Well, cuz I was like, am I going to say I'm feeling major? Am I feeling good? Oh, feeling major, baby.
DJ Envy
Well, congratulations. You recently celebrated what, one year of marriage?
Megan Good
Yes.
DJ Envy
How has that been? How has that one year been?
Megan Good
It's been so good. It's been so much fun. Just it's a crazy thing because I feel like we're just such partners journeying in life and just enjoy each other and just have fun together. And yeah, it's just been really nice.
DJ Envy
How is it different from your other relationships? Like that first year feeling? Because you've been through that first year feeling before, so how is this one different?
Megan Good
I think it's just about, you know, where I am in life and I think just the fact that we're truly best friends and I feel truly seen and I feel that this person helps me become a better person and it's someone that I just really, really respect. And yeah, I don't compare it like that. It's just different and it's amazing.
DJ Envy
And you ever want to give everybody the middle finger that thought it was just a ploy at one time, now they're just doing this Just for the Internet, just to help them out. You might ever want to just give. Stick out your tongue one good time. One time.
Megan Good
Probably earlier on I did. But I think at this point, when you go through the journey and there's so many people preconceived notions and people who think that they know things, and you kind of just have to get to a point where you're just completely free and you're just like, you know what? Those who know you and know your track record and know, you know, the goodwill that you have earned just by being authentic and being kind and all those things, those people will. Will give you the benefit of the doubt, and they'll be open. Other people, not so much. And it's not. It's not really about me. It's more about their own things and things that they've experienced, things they may feel. And so, you know, not only are
Charlamagne Tha God
y' all together and married and in love and all the things, y' all have businesses together, and y' all both are still busy.
Megan Good
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
How does that. How's that balance with, you know, personal business? Like, how do y' all still find time to spend time with each other?
Megan Good
Well, that helps it, the fact that we work together, you know, but, yeah, it's been. It's been really interesting to build on our culture because it. It came out of, you know, being in a season where, you know, you're just trying to navigate life. And the work that we started doing with our bodies physically is something that he was already doing. But because I had been training off and on all my life, I had never trained this particular way. And when I saw my body begin to transform as quickly as it did. But then, more importantly, it was the emotional things that were on me that were able to come off physically that I realized no amount of therapy, no this, no that is going to get something sometimes off of you that has to physically come out of you. And then, you know, my brother, Eric Bellinger, he just lost his mom.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shout out to Eric Bellinger.
Megan Good
And I'm sorry. Yeah, Ms. Simone. And so he was in that season. You know, I just lost my godfather, Jim, and there's just. Everybody was kind of going through a season. Next thing you know, there's 20 of us doing this workout, and it really became about honoring each other and honoring our bodies and being really intentional, and that's how it was born. And so because it's such a way of life for us, it's kind of like we're just doing life and walking in purpose and Doing the things that we really care about and sharing that with people. People.
Charlamagne Tha God
So this is a movement. How often is this? Every day that y' all do this.
Megan Good
He does it every day. Yeah, I do it five days a week. Okay. Yeah. But you know what's crazy is as I started getting up with the 5am Crew now. Yeah. So I'm up at like 4:30am what are the things.
Angela Yee
What are the things that you emotionally realized you weren't. You weren't fully healed to face that you didn't know until you got there?
Megan Good
Well, I think there was so many things from childhood, from growing up in the business, from things that had happened in the past few years to things that had been. Things that had been going on in my life for, you know, just. I had never thought of it that way or really dealt with it that way. And so for me, I actually just discovered a lot in that process, you know, discovered things I may have felt about my dad, discovered things I may have felt, you know, at. In my early 20s or whatever it was. And so it kind of just opened Pandora's box in a good way because it allowed me to really assess those things and decide what I want for myself and decide, you know, to be intentional about the future that I want.
DJ Envy
Yeah.
Angela Yee
How's all of that helped you now? Because I heard you say, like, you're ready to move into motherhood and, you know, unlocking those things, relationships with your dad. How does that help you get mentally ready for when you step into motherhood, you know?
Megan Good
Well, I've never been a mom before yet, so I just know that I think there were things in the past that I was. I still had built up from childhood that I think once I started really evaluating those things. And then also I think it's a lot of. It's Jonathan, too, like, the way I want to do life and the person I want to do life with, it makes me excited to be, you know, the mother of his children. Makes me excited to parent with him. It makes me excited to, like, go on that journey with him all while, you know, we're always learning and growing and unpacking as we go along. But it's wonderful to have someone to do it with that helps me be better in the process.
DJ Envy
Do you ever get nervous about that phase? You know, because it's. You just, you know, you're booking more and more shows, you have the liquor line, you have all this thing going on.
Megan Good
Yes.
DJ Envy
But being a mom is difficult, too. Do you ever have any reservation being like, you know, what, not now? Or you're like, no, right now?
Megan Good
I think I did have reservations in the past because it was always like, there's never going to be a good time. But I think that my mind has kind of changed with that because I'm like, no, actually, right now is a good time. I'm in a peaceful place. I've done everything that I want to do. I've lived a hell of a lot of life and everything else I want to do, I know that I'll do it better because of being a parent and because of being a mom. I know that it'll be hard. I know that I'll be juggling a lot, but, you know, again, I have someone to juggle it with. And I think that that's what I want to put my time and my energy and my heart into. And. Yeah. And I don't. I think that's the only last thing that I'm like, well, what is it that I want to do that I haven't done? It's mother.
DJ Envy
Is he ready?
Megan Good
He's ready. He's been ready.
Charlamagne Tha God
And I remember the last time you came here. Well, yeah, last time you came here and I was pregnant, you were saying, like, I want all of that energy. I need all this because I want. And I love that because you've been working since a child, like a little girl. And I love to hear you say, there's nothing. I mean, I've already done everything that I wanted to. Now when you do step into motherhood, is it more so, like, all right, everything else, I'm done with acting, I've already done. You know, not really, like, retiring, like, officially retiring, but, like, you're gonna be focused on. It's gonna be tunnel vision for mommyhood.
Megan Good
Right.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, do you think about it?
Megan Good
I just love your face as you're talking about it. I'm like, yes, I would do. You know, I don't think I'll ever really retire from acting. I think that I probably won't do as much in front of the camera, but that's not so much because of motherhood in my mind. I mean, I don't know, we'll see what happens when it all happens. But it's more so because I've become a lot more selective about what I want to do. And I've really fallen in love with directing. I love directing. Like, you know, you. You ask yourself, like, what are the things that you love that you would do for free? Yeah, I direct for free any day of the week. I just love it. That way. But acting has always been my first love, so I'll never not do it. And I'm excited to see what comes out of me as an actress from being a mother. I'm excited to see what comes out of me as an actress from getting into my 50s. I'm excited to see all those phases, and I think all these things will make me better and more equipped and actually change what that experience is.
Charlamagne Tha God
What about directing do you love the most? Is it that you get to tell your. You know, tell the stories and put the actors in place? Like, what about it do you love so much?
Megan Good
I love that it's not about me. I love that you skip hair and makeup. You come in. In your sweatpants.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Megan Good
And you serve the project. You know, you don't always have to wear the crown. Sometimes you can carry it, you know? And I love serving actors. I love sharing what I've learned along the way. I love making it easier for the little black girl behind me. And when people decide, like, oh, this is who this person is, or this is what they can do, Knowing that if you're a real artist, you can do so many things and just wanting to be a part of making sure people have lots of opportunities to shine and to feel safe and to do the best work that they can do.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. Yeah. I'm gonna say this is nebulous. Listen, I'm not playing. This is really good. I'm not even big on vodka. You know what I'm saying? But this is good as hell. And after my weekend, I needed it. What made you wanna, you know, go into the partnership with Nebula 9? It's such.
Megan Good
This is so exciting for me. I literally met this one, Keith, right here at a celebrity softball game. And he was like, you should try this. And I was like, no, I think I'm okay. I don't really like drinks in the can. You know, it's not really my thing. And he said, just try it. Just give it a try. I drank it. I was like, this is so good. I was like, what is in this? And he was like, well, it's got apple cider vinegar. It's got probiotics. It helps it come through your system. You know, your liver doesn't have to work as hard. It's all natural flavors. It's, you know, it's a potato vodka that's been distilled, but there's nothing extra in it. There's no extra sugar, no extra garbage, all of that. And so I finished two in the. That day. And then he Sent me a case. And I was like, you know what? I'm just gonna see, because I know I have to be at the gym if I am, but I'm gonna have one of these. I'm gonna have one and a half of these while I'm sitting watching Netflix before I go to bed. And when I got up at 4:30 the next morning, I still was, like, super energized. No hangover whatsoever. Didn't feel, like, dry or dehydrated or anything. And I was just shocked. So I kind of started testing it out in different scenarios. I was like, okay, well, if I do this, I got to leave in like, an hour. You know, what does it look like to drive? You know? And it was like, no, I was completely sober. Yeah. Then because my liver had. It had gone through my liver because of the apple cider vinegar. And so. And then also, you know, I'm in my 40s. I'm not trying to drink no extra sugar.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Megan Good
I'm not trying to drink anything less
Angela Yee
weeks at this point.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I'm saying.
Angela Yee
Sugars and all. That is so. And people don't understand what they be drinking. Like, it'll hold you down for, like, a good week or so. Especially you working a lot and you talking about getting into mom life. I'm not a parent yet, but all my friends that with kids, they love when they don't have the kids the next day.
Megan Good
Right.
Angela Yee
It takes them some time to recover. Like, they schedule the weekends.
Megan Good
It makes you feel heavy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, it gives you headaches and everything. And that's why I love that you're behind it, because even before you told me all the ingredients, I popped it, open it, and I just. I drunk it. Because I'm like, yes, I trust making good. I know you don't play about health, fitness, nutrition, and all of that. So this is. You're the perfect person for the partnership to get behind something like this, because you don't play about what you put in your body.
Megan Good
I don't. I don't. And it's also, like, because I'm in the health and wellness space, it's like. I'm like, yes, it's still liquor at the end of the day, but I want to have the best possible choice.
Charlamagne Tha God
Right.
Megan Good
I want to make sure that I don't feel like crap. I want to make sure that what I'm drinking is not making me gain weight, you know, and all of that stuff. And so, yeah, I'm really, really proud of it. We had this the 9%. Then we have a 5.4 for the mom. Oh, no.
DJ Envy
She was coming.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, she was coming with y'.
DJ Envy
All.
Angela Yee
I have a question for you. You mentioned your age, if you don't mind me talking about it. So I've been. One of the things that I was excited to hear you talk about motherhood or one of the reasons why I was excited to hear you talk about it is because one of the things I've been trying to figure out is, like. Like, at what point do I have kids, right? Like, I'm 34. I just got here. Like, I'm gonna need a couple years to establish myself. But then age kicks in, and you hear all these stories about, like, the black maternal, like, you know, death rate with women and black women and, like, having babies at an older age. That was one of the things that made me very nervous about it and trying to balance career. So, like, personally, like, are there things that you are nervous about at this phase? And, like, how are you. Who are you consulting in? Like, what advice do we go getting from where?
Megan Good
Well, for one thing, I would say 34 is very young. Even though they try to make you feel that all pregnancy is after 35, or geriatric, I would always say. And I really encourage this freezer eggs, so that you can choose when you're ready and the time is right for you, and you don't feel any of that pressure.
Angela Yee
Okay.
Megan Good
Beyond that, you know, there's definitely always a lot of talk about having babies later in life, but then there's also a lot of beautiful stories where people. It's been, you know, their first kid at 44, 45, 46, whatever it may be, and they don't have those issues and don't have those concerns. And so I think that we tend to focus on, you know, the things to beware.
Angela Yee
It's like, that's all you can hear, so it scares the heck out of you. But you also don't want to rush until it's too. Like, you don't want to move too fast either. So I'm like, all right. I wonder how she's thinking about that. Because you. You're. I mean, you're making good. Like, work ain't gonna stop.
Megan Good
Right? Right.
Angela Yee
You know what I mean?
Megan Good
It's kind of. For me, it's just. This is the point. The place that I'm at now. This is the place where I got to. Where I'm like, okay, I'm excited to be a mom. There definitely was a lot of pressure, like, you know, from when I was married before. Everyone's like, when you go have a baby, when are you going to have a baby? Maybe she's not doing it because of this. Maybe she's not doing it because of that. And it just wasn't the timing, you know? And when I got to this place, I got to this place, and I just trust that God's going to work it out, you know, and whatever's meant to be will be. I'm not concerned about the, like, mortality rates or any of that stuff, you know? And also, even in that, what's going to be is going to be, you know? But I believe that everything that we truly want in our time and God's timing will happen. And I think for me, I just ran out the noise.
DJ Envy
Yeah. There's precautions and stuff that they make you do once you're over 35. Like, we had two kids after the age of 35. One at 39 and one at 40.
Angela Yee
Let me get this straight.
Megan Good
You're in Italy.
Angela Yee
Child pretended to be the white Italian man's fiance.
Megan Good
Hard to believe.
Angela Yee
Please.
Megan Good
This is Michael, my nephew.
Angela Yee
Then you ended up catching feelings for the black Italian cousin brother.

This past weekend, like every other Sunday, you were on the court with the guys, playing ball. Just a quick pickup game, living out your hoop dreams. No triple doubles, but mean set of threes in between buckets. One of the homies mentioned he closed on a new crib. This is big. And while everyone's asking about housewarming and making plans to celebrate, you're asking the real questions. Like, has he spoken to his State Farm agent yet about coverage? See, homeownership is one thing, but the right coverage is the real game changer. Even more than your last hot streak, it's how you protect your legacy. Dropping buckets and bars on the court. A State Farm agent can more than assist you with finding the right coverage for your new place. If you have a claim, your local agent can help you file it. Yep, that's right. Over the phone, in person, online, or on the app, they are ready to help you. And they don't drop the ball. You know what I mean? Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.

Dryness is one of the biggest challenges for curly hair and most products, they clock out after wash Day. The new Ultra moisture collection was literally designed with our hair in mind. Curls, coils, all of it powered by Botano oil and Jamaican Black castor oil. Which means the science is actually doing the work. Clinically proven to help retain moisture for up to five days. And the curl cream defines without crunch. No sulfates, no parabens, no silicones, no mineral oils. Just nourishment without the compromise. Because here's the thing. DJ Envy
Peyton. You know, you gotta think Peyton's four years old.
Angela Yee
You're okay.
Megan Good
Yeah.
DJ Envy
Yeah. You had her at 43. So there's certain precautions and tests that they make you have.
Charlamagne Tha God
But that was the pandemic, baby.
Megan Good
Yeah.
DJ Envy
We had nothing to do. What was there to do? We done watched everything on Netflix. What else was there to do?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what it was.
Megan Good
What about.
Angela Yee
I'm getting all this advice for myself, but I think it'll help people when I hear you talk about Jonathan Majors. Right?
Megan Good
And.
Angela Yee
And just kind of where you were before. I remember this like video on Instagram. There was a girl who was talking about how no one prepares you to meet the man that makes you feel so safe to do something like that. Like, you're so. It's like we're always dating for like, okay, if this don't go well, then this and I still got this. But you don't talk about what about you meet someone who's doing everything right, making you feel safe, wanting you to create that family and how you just should know how to handle that so you don't. Kind of self sabotage.
Megan Good
Yeah. Yeah.
Angela Yee
Did you go through that battle as well?
Megan Good
Yeah. Yeah. But I also think that everything I experienced kind of also prepared me for it. It kind of prepared me to be in a place of like, you know what? You. You can't control what happens. You can't control if things are going to work out or not. You don't know what the future holds. And you can try to control everything and be upset or be over miserable, whatever it is, or you can just release and let come what's supposed to come. And then when it comes, not be afraid of if it's going to work out or if it's going to be this or if it's going to be that. If it's right for you. Being present instead of, you know, tripping on what's behind you, and instead of focusing on what's in front of you, just be present with the moment. And then everything else, I feel like happens in his due time. And being this present has been one of the greatest gifts that I've experienced, you know? And so I'm like, look, I don't know what the future holds, but I'm really enjoying life.
Charlamagne Tha God
Are you excited about Reasonable Doubt?
Megan Good
I am, yes, girl. I'm so excited about it.
Charlamagne Tha God
I saw that you were being added as a new addition, and, like, how did that come about? I mean, I know you acting good and all that, but how did it happen?
Megan Good
It's so funny because my manager, Jeff, he also represents and Beyonce, and he was like, I just want you to go do this show. And I was like, I love her, you know, and the show is fantastic. And he was like, I just feel like you would love it. There, done. It's such a great set, and everyone's so lovely to work with. And, you know, sir, I can't tell certain things, but, yeah, like, certain folks want to even, like, come back because they're like, I just want to work on the show again. And I was like, okay. And so I sat down and I met with Ramala. You created the show, and she's just absolutely wonderful. Like, just genuine. You don't. To me, I don't meet a lot of really super genuine people, like, within the industry. Like, I meet a lot of nice people, whatever, but, like, people who are just like, oh, my God, I can feel their heartbeat. And so definitely connected with her. And then when I got the call to come do it, I was like, okay, this is gonna be fun.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Megan Good
I was like, what we get to do?
Angela Yee
Go head to head.
Megan Good
What's gonna happen?
Charlamagne Tha God
Because I could totally see you on there. So I'm like, oh, they about to add my girl. I was excited. So congratulations. Thank you for always working.
DJ Envy
You know, I was gonna say, how do you protect your peace when you talk about all the different things that you do? How do you. Do you shut down? Do you not go on social media? Do you put two middle fingers up in the air and say, f the world? Like, so how do you protect your piece these days, you know, when it comes to everything? Because everybody's talking.
Charlamagne Tha God
He wanted to put middle fingers up in the air. So much. You. You just said that five times.
DJ Envy
I've hung out with her in the club, so maybe she done it in the club.
Megan Good
They can't see me do it. Like, I got inside school. You know what? It's. I've been through so many different spaces of, like, you know, when there was, like, the. The media takeouts and all that kind of stuff. And then after that, it was like social media, and then it was like the church folks, and then it was people thinking that I bleached my skin. And then it was this. That it was this. And all of these things created what I was saying. That release, where I went from constantly being concerned and constantly getting my feelings hurt and constantly. You know, it's like, one thing about me and anyone who knows me, I'm still gonna do what I'm gonna do, but it's still not a good feeling to know that every time you step out the house, you're walking out to the firing squad and. And realizing for me that even though I was proud of myself for still stepping out and always being authentic and true to who I am, I was like, oh, you get shot up. Like, you getting shot up, Shot up, but your ass has been shot up. And sitting down and unpacking all of those things and asking myself, why do I care that much about this? And why does this affect me this way? And what is. You know, and what stuff that's good to take and stuff that needs to just be put aside. And in the process of doing all that, it just. It has gotten to a place where it's like. I wrote this poem that talked about that I always felt like I was on the edge of a cliff and that people were constantly, like, poking and prodding and poking and prodding, and I was just trying so hard not to fall off. And then I jumped. And when I jumped, I started flying. And that's the experience. You know, it's like I'm just in a place now where I'm like, things are going to come. People are going to say what they say. And the peace is knowing that it's really about what God thinks about me and what I think about me. And my people that love me the most and truly know me think about me. So in that, I just kind of, you know, I disconnect. It depends if you get me on the right day, you might get the middle fingers, but for the most part, I kind of don't really care anymore.
DJ Envy
Gotcha. Now, if you're listening and you're on your. In a cliff if you jump, you will not fly. I just want to let people know, if you jump, if you're at the edge, if you're at the edge, you will not fly. I'm just letting you know.
Angela Yee
I was gonna say, you just be so well composed through everything. Like, even hearing you talk about people poking and poking, it always feels like you come from that class of Hollywood that, like, it's just so, like, you don't even see or feel the pokes. You just kind of, like, move gracefully throughout your life. And I know you're human, but you. Your composure throughout things are always very well.
Megan Good
Thank you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Thank.
Megan Good
Well, thank you. The biggest thing to me is I don't want anybody else to control the integrity of who I want to be. Just because someone's poking and poking and poking, you want a certain reaction out of me. You want me to respond a certain way. First of all, I'll never give it to you. Second of all, it's more about you not being able to have control over me based on the fact that you're just walking this journey out, too. You're just trying to figure it out, just like I'm trying to figure it out. Why would I listen to you? You know, we're all in this, and we're all experiencing it, so to each his own on his journey. But I think the biggest thing is I'm just like, you can't let other people control you. You've got to be who you're meant to be.
Angela Yee
And I think you have a lot of, like, us. Like, not us here, but just, like, people that are fans of you or supporters, that kind of rally for you as well, too.
Megan Good
And I can feel that, too.
Angela Yee
Yeah, they be going hard. Like, when the Nle, Choppa Jonathan, whatever that was, was happening, people was like, let them be in their. You know, in their marriage and be happy and do their thing. Like, why are we even talking about this?
Megan Good
Yeah, yeah, right.
Angela Yee
She said to Chef. Yeah, period.
DJ Envy
But when did you get to that place when you could let things bounce off your back? When did you get there and how did you get there?
Megan Good
It was the skin bleaching thing. It was because this woman had messed me up so bad. And I realized I was like, people think. And I saw. Oh, my God.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's okay.
Megan Good
It's okay. No, please. No. Actually, I was in a place where I looked at.
DJ Envy
What the hell? What happened?
Charlamagne Tha God
Just be quiet.
DJ Envy
Okay, Sorry.
Megan Good
What happened? I was like, I'm a. I looked at it, and I was like, I actually have to laugh because it's not like deadass. This is actually true. Yeah.
DJ Envy
You know, don't say I'm stupid. I have no idea what you're talking about. Skin bleaching. I don't know what the hell you talking about.
Megan Good
So the short version is I went to this esthetician in LA who was helping me with like, anti aging things. And then it should like, you know, these soap bars and all this kind of stuff. And the anti aging was like, beautiful. So then she was like, well, I just want to fix, like some of the dark spots that you have. And I'm like, no, it's kind of like natural contour. And she was like, no, but your skin will be so clear that it up. I start using the product, I instantly see that I'm getting lighter. And she's like, don't worry. Just give it a few weeks. All your color will come back. I give it a few weeks and I look like, so pale and so crazy. And then I go to shoot this show here in New York and I'm at a premiere and a picture was taken, like, where it was dark around me, but I was blown out. So I just look white. I just look crazy. And I went back to la. I flew home over the weekend. And I was like, you need to fix this right now. And she was like, well, you know, it's a process. I was like, I don't care about no process. I was like, fix it. So she gives me this serum. I put the serum on. She said, stay in the sun for like 15 minutes. Something to myself. Like, I'm like, 39. Don't really, like, lay in the sunlight.
DJ Envy
Not supposed to be in the sun at all. No.
Megan Good
But I was so desperate, I wouldn't lay in the sun for 30 minutes. I came back in the house, tried to wash it off, it would not come off.
Angela Yee
Oh, my God.
Megan Good
I had to wash my face over and over and over again to the point of where actually flesh was coming off my face from scrubbing because it was like, latched onto my skin. And so it's like really traumatic and like, really kind of embarrassing because I was like, as a black woman, I would never do that to myself. And it just broke my heart to think that, like, young black girls would think that I did that or like, I don't like myself. I was like, why would I do that all of a sudden at 39 years old? That's crazy. But what it was is the backlash that I was seeing. And I actually don't even know if it was as Big as I thought it was, but because it was so humiliating and because in the past, when something is wrong, I would be able to go, oh, well, here's what this is or this is not true. Now, if you don't like it, I don't really care, but at least you know the truth. I couldn't do anything. I was like, I look crazy. Like, I literally have to just sit in this and accept that people are going to think that I did this to myself. And there's no way to defend myself. There's no way to say it isn't true. It's not like I go on social media and be like, it's not true. No, look at me. I look crazy. So. And then the realization of, like, what if it never corrects itself. Yeah, what if I'm stuck like this? What if this is like, that's it. That's my lot. That's what's going to happen in life moving forward. I'm just stuck. And in that time, I was just, like, praying and praying and praying, crying. I was like, lord, why would you let this happen to me? And then I realized, I was like, this is an answer prayer. The answer to the prayer is, you're so concerned. You kept saying, lord, help me not care what people. People think. Lord, help me not to be so concerned with this. Lord, release me from these feelings. Well, now you don't have a choice. And you have to still live your life. You still have to be happy. If you're stuck this way, you still have to have quality of life. You still have to figure out how you're gonna work. You said, I figure all these things out, and if that's what it is, are you going to be miserable and sad and on the floor, or are you going to move forward and have the most joy that you can have in life? So I made the decision to move forward. The moment that I made a decision to move forward, my color started coming back.
DJ Envy
And Jess is making fun of you. She had a face like Michael Jackson, Sammy Sosa, and you making fun of her now. Do you think it's funny?
Megan Good
Take a sip.
Charlamagne Tha God
Just relax. I do want to genuinely apologize to you. You know, sometimes this. Don't be funny all the time.
Megan Good
You know, it was funny. I'm not going to lie. It was. It was kind of funny.
Charlamagne Tha God
Appreciate it. But now to hear.
Angela Yee
You know what?
Charlamagne Tha God
Just. You just never know. That's the biggest thing about being a comedian.
Angela Yee
Shut up.
Charlamagne Tha God
Envy. That's the biggest thing about being a comedian. You just never know what People are
Megan Good
going through, you know?
Charlamagne Tha God
And I love you. I've always loved you. And I'm very sorry about that. Because to hear you even hear your testimony about the process that you were going. You didn't know what the fuck was going on with your face, you know? And you like, look, fix this shit, you know, so I'm sorry.
Megan Good
No.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
DJ Envy
Crazy thing is, Megan's been up here a bunch of times, and she ain't slighted you one dime. I forgot. I didn't know because definitely would have slighted you. I wouldn't have said nothing to you. I wouldn't have spoke to you. I'd have stiffed armed you.
Angela Yee
That's why you be so blessed, though. Cause you're posturing about things just so bad. I would have freaked out. Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
She could have been like, just, I don't fuck with you.
Megan Good
But, I mean, because you are a comedian, though, I know that it wasn't personal.
DJ Envy
Yeah.
Megan Good
And even if in the moment, and I'm not gonna lie, I did dead ass did laugh because it was funny to me, and it felt good to be able to laugh at myself in that moment. But, I mean, I think that the message is still the message, which is that you never really know what someone's going through, why something appears the way that it is. Absolutely. But in the same breath, you know, it's like, for what we do for a living, we're out in the public eye. People are gonna say things. And if you take everything personal and if you get mad at everybody who thinks something or says something, you're gonna be angry all the time.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Megan Good
You gotta be. You gotta be free in that, you know? Yeah.
Angela Yee
Well, thank you.
DJ Envy
Damn, Jess.
Angela Yee
Thank you.
DJ Envy
So foul.
Megan Good
Stop it.
DJ Envy
When I ask. Anything else now?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I. I Don't you want to
DJ Envy
go anywhere else with this now, huh? Anything else?
Angela Yee
You can hug her.
Charlamagne Tha God
You can give her a hug. Just shut up. I'm gonna give her a hug. This room is crazy.
Megan Good
I'm glad.
Charlamagne Tha God
Charlemagne. Bowhead ass ain't here.
Megan Good
Crazy.
DJ Envy
Oh, my God.
Angela Yee
Are there. I know you said just your color. I mean, I see your color. Right. But are there treatments that you have to do, or is it just like, naturally, just kind of, like, replenishing itself?
Megan Good
I was going to Dr. Pearl Grimes, who I had to get, like, in it. Kind of like this weird incubation, like a sunblock thing. And I would cover up the rest of my body because the rest of my body was the right color. But I would just go in there, and they would just constantly like, let this kind of sun effect, like, hit my skin. And then I would do stuff to protect my skin. And it really was my 40th birthday. I went to the Dominican Republic, and that sun was so harsh and so crazy, but I was like, give me all of it, girl. That skin just started flipping over and I was like, praise the Lord. Who knew? Yeah, I'm gonna go lay out in this. And if I have to choose between it making me age and not having my color, I would rather have my color as a black woman.
DJ Envy
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
Gotcha.
DJ Envy
