Behind the scenes, though, like, it's been a lot of this week. Preparation for a photo shoot that I have happening on Saturday. One of the things that has been a really big. I was gonna say, like, decision I've made, but it's not really a decision, but it's a goal. A really big goal that I've set for myself is that once I kind of got a little bit more comfortable. Not comfortable, like, settling comfortable, but, like, more confident in my role, you know, as a personality and doing the news and all the things, you know, after starting a new job and almost like a new phase, a new life again, once things settled down enough, where could start kind of multitasking and bringing other things in. I wanted to get back to, like, the fashion. And you guys know, and if you don't, I'm telling you now we have a merch line, a clothing line where we drop fashion pieces. Right now, we. We have merch, which is T shirts and hoodies. But, you know, we. I actually design as well, so we have a lot coming. So it's important to me to not just tell the brown girl grinding story through the Latest with Lauren LaRosa in the news and, you know, behind the scenes of the grind, but also to have, you know, some merch and some fashion pieces that, when y' all are out in it, speaks to who you are as a person. So we have the. I love a brown girl grinding T shirts and hoodies. We have brown girl grinding T shirts and hoodies. And we have more to come, so we'll be doing a photo shoot this weekend to get that together. And if you guys are listening to this episode, go to browngirlgrinding.com and use code BGG LOVE at checkout. And I got a little surprise for you. Just because I'm here planning this photo shoot and doing this podcast all at the same dang time. And y' all are here keeping me company. And I appreciate the love too. Like, I'll go out to, like, a lot of different events. You guys know I love being out in the community. Love bringing y' all the latest live from different events and things. And I'll literally see people in the merch, and it warms my heart because then not because it's like, you know, they're buying a merch, but more so because when I started doing all of this, like, having the conversations that, you know, shake the room is the tagline of brown girl grinding. In the podcast here, my biggest thing was I wanted to create a community. I talked to y', all, y' all talk back to me. We learn together, we grow together. Things are not always perfect, but we're doing it together. My little rider. So when I see the merch, when I see y', all, you know, on the brown girl grinding Instagram, all comments, spelling, little plug, commenting on the post and the content and really enjoying the messaging and the brand and the community, it makes me happy. So let's get on into the latest. We can eradicate food deserts with this technology.

Hey, y', all, what's up? It's Lauren LaRosa, and we gotta talk. We gotta get into something that Sprite just dropped, because this is right up my alley. As somebody who's been in audio and hip hop culture for over a decade, this is exactly the kind of thing I geek out about. Okay? It's called the Sprite living track list. 50 tracks handpicked that shaped hip hop from the ground up to right now. And this isn't just a playlist to bob your head to. All cute. This is designed to start real conversation to get people arguing. Y' all know how y' all to do about the hip hop in the list, reminiscing as well, sending it to their group chats like, yo, do y' all remember when this song was it? And honestly, as a producer of content campaigns like this hit different for me. I spent my life thinking about how the perfect story gets told. How one moment in a song becomes a moment for the culture. And seeing 50 records that literally define eras of hip hop laid out like this, side by side. Yo, Masterclass. Mwah. Chef Kiss. Now, this list itself, it's incredible. You've got the foundational stuff sitting right next to the new class. Real then and now vibes. My personal top picks from the pack. I gotta go with Unity, Bodak Yellow, and who's that Girl Child. You can't tell me nothing about that song because those are just non negotiables for me. But here's the best part. This goes way beyond the kin. Hip hop authorities and tastemakers actually break down the history and the impact behind every single track on the list. The samples, the influence, why it mattered then and why it still matters right now. That's the real story. So go run your own list. See how many of these 50 you grew up on, which ones surprised you, and which ones you're sending to your friends. Charlamagne Tha God
Peace to the planet. Charlamagne Tha God Here we spend our whole lives building our names, putting them on businesses, homes, bank accounts, accomplishments, everything we've worked for. The problem is, while we're working to make our names worth something, data brokers are working to put a price on them. Data brokers collect our personal information and sell it off, sometimes for as little as 10 cents. And then what happens? Well, if it ends up in the wrong hands, identity thieves can use our info to open loans in our names, drain our investment and saving accounts, commit crimes in our name. And that's just the beginning. Lifelock's automatic data broker removal tool finds our exposed personal information and removes it from these data brokers. Because our names represent everything we built, everything we've earned, and everything we're still working toward. LifeLock truly protects our names and our identities. community and people being happy, you guys know that Todd Tucker and Candi Burr is Candi Burr is formerly of Xscape, also of Real Housewives of Atlanta. They got a divorce. They got a divorce which finalized in March of 2026. Candi Burrs initially filed for the divorce back in November of 2025. To this day we still don't know what happened. There have been speculations that there was infide Todd's part, but we don't know what happened still to this day. But what we do know is that they are raising children together. Both, you know, they both have daughters from previous relationships. So Candy Birds has Riley, who is her daughter who's on that Next Gen NYC show. Todd has a daughter as well. And then they have young children together and with them being recently divorced, Todd has begin to kind of come into his own as a social media personality. I know we talked about the Housewives in the last episode here on the Latest with Lauren LaRosa in the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kandi was a big part of that show before she left and her relationship and her marriage with Todd was as well with her mother. And a lot of people kind of questioning where Todd stood. Like, you know, was he okay with not being the breadwinner? Was he faithful? There were a lot of questions at the time around certain things. I Personally understood where the that conversation came from. I think anytime a woman is very successful and she. Candy has been successful forever and continues to grow in her success. And a man is not equally as successful or, you know, their success is a part of the woman's success. Like Todd was creating businesses with Candy and working with Candy on things, that becomes a conversation. And it can be tough. Like, you know, as a woman who's dealt with, you know, men that had, you know, more than me, that had less than me, but not even just financially. But I think ambition is the conversation. And I think sometimes as women, we're naturally more ambitious and outgoing when it comes to certain things than men are. It gets tough trying to figure out that dynamic sometimes. And I can't imagine doing it across reality tv. But in this new era, they are now going through a divorce. Not on reality tv, but in the public eye. It was a huge thing when they filed for divorce. And when it was finalized, there was some back and forth over custody and different, you know, who would take what and who owned what and what business belong to who. But they figured it out. They figured it out to the point where they. Now we've seen them on a few vacations together in co parenting and Candy actually talked about this. She sat down with Danielle Brooks for her intermission podcast that she does. It's a video podcast. And Candy talked about, like, how weird it was in the beginning of the divorce because they still shared children together. And then where it's grown to now. Let's take a listen.
Kandi Burruss
I feel like it was a little challenging during, while we were in the middle of the divorce because it's like, I just cussed your ass out and now we gotta go over here on vacation, just me, you, and Ace of Blake. I remember, I think the first one was for New Year's. He all of a sudden was like he was taking the kids somewhere. And I'm like, hold on. Like, I got those days off with make you think, like, I was like, well, we both going, right? Wow. And he was like, all right, cool. So we both were together with our two little ones to bring in the new year. And it was kind of awkward in my brain because I'm like, okay. One part of me is like, we're not gonna be together anymore. And typically you want to bring the year in with the person that you print plan to be with.
Lauren LaRosa
Right, right.
Kandi Burruss
And I knew we wasn't going to be together. So it just was kind of like, okay, how is this going to work? But we got along well, one thing he and I can do, like, when it comes to the kids, we're good at, you know, putting the drama to the side and being able to just, you know, be there for the kids.
Lauren LaRosa
Todd has been doing these. I said, he's coming into his own. He's been doing this, like, journey with me via social media of, like, his new single life. Let's take a listen to some of the videos. Todd has passed it just in his posted, just in this last, like, couple months. Let's take a listen.
Narrator/Guest Speaker
It's cringe as you get back out there dating. How young is too young? And is there an age that's too old? So my buddy said, if you're gonna go younger, you got to go your oldest child's age and add eight years. My daughter Kayla is 30. So 38. Is that appropriate? I'm gonna be 53. Another friend said, it's half your age plus seven.
Pet Owner/Advertiser
Now.
Narrator/Guest Speaker
How old is too old? Like one hundred and fifty three. Can I go 60?
Lauren LaRosa
As I'm watching these videos, I'm like, yo, I get it. You're single. To me, this is like the girl who gets out of relationship and is posting everywhere. Single, single. Back outside, I had looking for the hoes. Like, it's like, why you don't have to do this? And I think at 50 some years old, I just wouldn't like it. It. I'm. I look at it, and I have no issue with Todd. I've never been one of those people that thought less of him because Candy was the breadwinner or whatever. I actually thought that their marriage and their family was adorable. I loved seeing them together, and I love the dynamic they had because you want to be able to build with your man and your person. But when I see these videos, I'm like, oh, the one he was at the Jay Z concert talking about single dad. Outside, he posted a photo, and I was like, why? Just go to the concert. Just go. So Riley TMZ caught up with Riley following her comments to clarify if it is different between them. And here's what she had to say, that you and Ty were not the same.
Kandi Burruss
But he still supports me a lot. He texts me even when I have bad episodes. He's always like, I'm here for you, always. But, you know, going through a divorce is never easy. And, you know, we all feel it last, last, last.
Lauren LaRosa
Would you be open to your mom getting married again in the near future? Well, in the future. Maybe not now, but maybe in years to come. I know you've Been through probably a lot of things. Anything that makes her happy, man, Divorce is not easy. That is one of the things I always say when I see people getting divorced. Divorce is not easy. And I don't ever want to be in the middle of a divorce, like, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. Because there's so many people that are, like, emotionally attached to the marriage. I just don't want to be the person have to navigate people's feelings in that way and my own feelings at all. Hey, y', all, what's up? It's Lauren LaRosa and we gotta talk. We gotta get into something that Sprite just dropped because this is right up my alley. parent, I love those everyday moments. Morning cuddles, post walk, lounging and of course, treat time. But let's be honest, keeping up with your dog's dental health isn't always easy. Until we found Greenies dental treats. What I love is how something so simple can make such a big difference. These treats aren't just incredibly tasty, they're vet recommended and designed to support the four areas vets check the plaque, tartar, gums and breath. The unique texture helps clean right down to the gum line to support cleaner teeth after 28 days when fed daily. That's a win for both of us. And as a bonus, they're made with natural ingredients plus vitamins, minerals and nutrients, so I feel good about giving them to her every day. It's one of those small routines that turns into something more, a moment we both look forward to and a simple way to support their health and happiness. Greenies Make Health a treat. Kandi Burruss
Around that time, I had got the opportunity to do and Juliet on Broadway. And at first I was kind of like thinking about it, but then I said, I'm gonna do it because I knew I was gonna need that to, like, keep my mind out of being sad and distraught. Yeah. You know what I mean? So I pour into work and then as far as people close to me, Dawan and Carmen, they were definitely people for me to lean on. Yeah. During the time, of course, my mom. Host: Lauren LaRosa (The Black Effect Podcast Network & iHeartPodcasts)
Key Guests: Kandi Burruss (formerly of Xscape, Real Housewives of Atlanta)
This episode dives into the very public divorce of Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker—how they're navigating life, parenthood, and social media after a high-profile split. Host Lauren LaRosa explores the unique challenges of co-parenting post-divorce, Kandi’s openness about her healing process, and the ways public figures manage privacy and perception. The episode includes thoughts from both Kandi and Todd, a look at the family dynamic, and the difficulties of moving forward when everyone is watching.
The tone throughout the episode is candid, supportive, and at times playfully exasperated. Lauren keeps it real as she reflects on tough questions about privacy, parenting, and self-presentation that follow a public breakup.
Lauren LaRosa’s closing note:
“You could be anywhere with any old body talking about all of the things, but you choose to be right here with me. My lowriders. I appreciate you.” (23:48)
This episode is a must-listen for anyone curious about the complexities of co-parenting after a celebrity divorce and the role social media plays in healing—or hindering—life after love.
