Am I supposed to go.

And the procedure without insurance is literally like $150,000 or some shit, Right? There's some other shot that they got to get that's in the tens of thousands. I'm like, yo, there's got to be some form of price gouging, yo, there's no way this shit cost this.

This is the same thing when it comes to universities for kids. The idea is if the government is going to back loans, student loans, no matter what, the universities can charge really whatever they want because you need to get a college education if you want to be part of the workforce. And that college education is guaranteed, backed by the government. So there is no real incentive to not do it. Right. The second somebody might say, and I don't necessarily want this, but like, somebody might say, oh, if we just remove this, like, endless bank account for your degree, for example, you want to get a degree in poetry. That's your right. Yeah, but we're not going to give you $300,000 in student loans to get a degree in poetry because you might not be able to get a job that's going to be able to pay that back. All of a sudden, a degree for poetry might come down. There are arguments that will poke holes in this, I'm sure, and there are negative aspects to it as well. But the idea being if you prop up whatever the cost of something is greedy, people will find a way to charge more for it so that you will pay for it. Simple as that. Because you know you will. So there's a part of me here where it's like, the insurance companies must be culpable and they must understand that these subsidies will go pay these rates, so they must be spiking rates knowing full well that the government's going to step in and pay because they don't want to leave their people uninsured.

You don't really trust that that's how he feels. A person that is unique to themselves is going to have opinions on both sides.

Right. Because it's like, you're gonna tell Americans that can't afford to live in New York City, that they should go move and look for opportunities somewhere else. But, like, if you can't afford your own wars, then maybe you shouldn't fight them. Right. So, like, you have. If what. What I think that people get frustrated at is like, you gotta keep that same energy if you are for government assistance, if you're for government support, if you're for government aid for Israel, then you should at least be understanding of government support. Government aid for the American people. And I don't think he's doing this with bad intent. Like, I'm actually trying to give him the best read possible here, like. But I. I think it's hard for.

Like, this is the system. You got to move somewhere else and look for opportunity. They're going to naturally go, whoa, this feels hypocritical. He might have a great argument for it, and that's fair, but the feeling people are going to have, he goes, that guy's a hypocrite. And it looks like he's prioritizing this one thing over this thing. And that's something he should think about when he's communicating.

And my problem is I can see where everybody's coming from. But then you gotta make a decision on, okay, I can understand where you're coming from, but which one of these ideas is going to benefit the most?

But most of the time when you're listening to good, you're listening to ideas, you're going to take the best idea that you think can help the most people. That's what I think we got to start doing.

He's like, hey, we're gonna do these things and these things are gonna help. I think what often happens in, in reality is that sometimes the good ideas don't lead to the outcome. But sometimes good ideas don't lead to the outcomes you want. Like the number one thing that's going to change affordability of rent in New York City is just building more apartments. It's not freezing rent, it's not doing anything else. But building more apartments. Freezing rent is going to skyrocket rent on the apartments that are in what's called the free market. It's when he freezes the rent. People who have not rent controlled or rent stabilized apartments are going to go way higher and it's become way more unaffordable. The only thing that will stop it is if we build more Apartments. And in order to do that, you have to do rezoning. And every mayor promises they're going to do it and no mayor does it. If Mumdadi comes in, rezones reduces.

So there are certain places that are like not zoned to be built in. And this is a long process. You have to get approval from Albany for these. Like they might be zoned for office, they might be zoned for nothing. Nothing at all.

Or there might be certain buildings that like within the neighborhood, there are certain people that go, hey, we don't want a tall building our neighborhood. We like the fact that it's all lower buildings in the neighborhood.

Well, now you have to fight that very powerful neighborhood alliance.

And don't think they're not because that's the same type of people that voted not to have a casino in Times Square.

But it's going to require a mayor who comes in and deregulates, changes the building laws. Because right now, like developers, if they could make money developing, they would develop. Right. But they can't. So you have to change those laws that make it not profitable and you got to let them develop and that will change it. But until a mayor comes in and does that, and hopefully it's Madani, but nothing is going to change with affordability in terms of housing. It's just not.

His idea is freeze is not the best idea. I think it's the most catchy. In the same way build a wall is catchy, right? It's like building a wall is not going to stop illegal immigration. You know, it probably will these horrific videos you see with ice, but build a wall sounds better marketing wise than going, hey, we're gonna see, we're gonna have ICE agents do like completely dehumanizing things to people and throw them in the back of cars and kick them out. Like you can't really run on that. But.

And freezing the rent does help a group of people, a large group of people who are in rent stabilized apartment they know for at Least four years. For one or two years my rent's not going to go up because my salary is not going totally inflation is going.

I want people to have that opportunity. Right. So what actually allows that is more apartments.
