Charlamagne Tha God
We are the Brilliant Idiots podcast back for another week of brilliant idiotness. Do we have any?
Alex
No, just mid rolls.
Charlamagne Tha God
Just mid rolls. Okay, good. We on, baby. Heather. Kyle Walker. What's up, my boy? How your weekend been, man? Your week? All that good shit?
Andrew Schultz
Good, man. What'd you do this week?
Charlamagne Tha God
Anything fun?
Andrew Schultz
I got back up on stage. Ooh, I've been getting up late.
Charlamagne Tha God
How'd that feel?
Andrew Schultz
A little bit.
Charlamagne Tha God
How'd that feel to get hard again? How'd that feel to get hard again?
Andrew Schultz
Feels good to get hard again.
Charlamagne Tha God
Getting back up. I feels good hitting them, though. You got some shit.
Andrew Schultz
Got a couple tings.
Charlamagne Tha God
You got some things.
Andrew Schultz
Got a couple things, some tings. Gotta keep it close to the chest.
Charlamagne Tha God
What is there to talk about? Like, what are you talking about? I mean, after coming off some shit, like the life.
Andrew Schultz
I think the thing that, like, I think the mistake that sometimes creatives make is that they. They go, okay, I need to do something like that. When I think that this process is just. Just start talking and then you'll naturally gravitate towards the next thing you want to talk about.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schultz
So now is the process of just finding what is it that I want to talk about.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. So you okay? You trying to figure that out? I'm getting. Yo, I'm getting so tired of getting asked about you, bro.
Andrew Schultz
Why?
Alex
What happened?
Charlamagne Tha God
It's just like, I can't sit on.
Andrew Schultz
Your head like that.
Charlamagne Tha God
I've never. This has never happened before to me in my life.
Andrew Schultz
Tell me.
Charlamagne Tha God
I just. It's. Why? What the fuck? Ask Andrew, bro. I Don't know.
Andrew Schultz
Wait, why?
Charlamagne Tha God
What, what's it since I did Melissa Ford podcast? Salute to Melissa Ford. It wasn't a silly question. Melissa. I thought Melissa did a very good interview. But at what point do people not realize I'm loyal to the soil with my dogs?
Andrew Schultz
That's what it is.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, yeah, yeah, you're not. No, it's never happening. Not Schultz, not Duvall. Like, it's just. No, it ain't happening. What the fuck you want me to say, bro?
Andrew Schultz
What was she worried about?
Charlamagne Tha God
The age old question of how can you be friends with somebody who supports Trump?
Podcast Announcer
It's interesting, you know, a lot of friendships, relationships, family relationships were severed when people, when Trump came into, you know, the public conversation, into politics, was voted into office now twice. A lot of relationships just kind of fell apart. And Andrew was firmly on that Trump train up until recently. And it's just interesting that it didn't seem to have like any kind of effect on your friendship, you know, especially the fact that he's white and you're black.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's just where we are now.
Andrew Schultz
Supports is interesting.
Charlamagne Tha God
Supports is interesting. But, you know, like I always say.
Andrew Schultz
You can like listen, listen if you got it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Listen, when we, when you voted for somebody, I don't care. But. And if you, if you're willing to challenge the person you voted for, that's all I give a fuck about.
Andrew Schultz
Here's what. She can't vote in America, right? She's not a citizen.
Charlamagne Tha God
I have no idea.
Andrew Schultz
I think she's from Canada. Right?
Alex
She's from Canada. But we don't know if.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, I really don't know.
Alex
Maybe.
Andrew Schultz
So my feeling on this always is like if, if you don't vote, that's your right. But you shouldn't really have an opinion on anybody who voted. You can have an opinion on the world. You can say whatever you want. Yeah, but like, if you didn't make the difficult decision in voting for somebody, which means you're going to vote for things that you disagree with vehemently, because there are other things that you might agree with. Yeah, so for example, like with, with Kamala, right? Like Kamala and Biden could have like stopped an ethnic cleansing in Gaza for a year. They had a year to do it. They didn't do it. Am I supposed to go.
Charlamagne Tha God
A lot of people held their nose and voted for her anyway.
Andrew Schultz
But am I supposed to look at, I would never look at you, but like, am I supposed to look at Melissa if she could vote? And am I supposed to. So you voted to continue to ethnically cleanse a region.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, first of all, I don't know if she can't vote, so I don't know.
Andrew Schultz
She's not for me.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schultz
So I guess my point is that, like, it's a very easy position to sit in this place where, like, if you don't vote, you judge the decision and you ascribe the worst of intentions to it. Right? Like, right. Because we.
Charlamagne Tha God
We.
Andrew Schultz
That's all we do is, like, we look at the worst thing that the opposition does, and then we go, well, that must be what they supported.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, there's no purity in politics. I supported Barack Obama.
Andrew Schultz
I love. I love Barack. But, like, there's things that I think he did I would disagree with.
Charlamagne Tha God
He was a drone. Strikes all day, every day. So my point, there's no purity test in politics, bro. Nothing so ever.
Andrew Schultz
That's the answer that I would give to you. It's just like voting for a person. There's this binary. Whether you vote for Momdani or you vote for Cuomo, whatever it is, it's like, it doesn't mean that you're going to support every single thing that one of those people do. You're making a decision, like, what are the things most important to you? There are some people that they vote based on abortion.
Charlamagne Tha God
Most people are single, as you voted.
Andrew Schultz
Exactly. And it's like, that's the thing that's most important to them. And they might disagree with every other.
Charlamagne Tha God
Thing, but they got this.
Andrew Schultz
But that's the thing that really matters.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's. It is what it is.
Andrew Schultz
So that's what I would say, like, you know, to anybody who would be upset about those certain things, they're like, certain things are really important to me, and I would hope that, like, I don't look at other people and be like, you want to continue ethnically cleansing a place and, like, America funding it? Like, I wouldn't ascribe that to you, Alex. Like, I don't think that you want that, but you voted for it.
Charlamagne Tha God
And by the way, you know what I'm saying? But you also. You know what I mean? Like, what he's saying is true, because that is also a single issue that made people not vote. But think about that. But think about all of the things.
Andrew Schultz
That was a big deal for me. Foreign wars was a huge deal for me. I didn't want to just continue funding the murder of people.
Charlamagne Tha God
All of the people who were against Trump. That one single issue, regardless of what Trump may have brought to the White House, kept A lot of them from going to the Beaufort Vice president Kamala.
Alex
Yeah, that's true. But I believe at the time she was saying she believed in a two state solution. So that's if to my defense, I would say.
Andrew Schultz
You say whatever you want. You can say whatever you want, but if you actively doing the thing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Wait till I run.
Alex
She wasn't in power.
Charlamagne Tha God
When I run for something one day, I'm just going to show y' all how to do it. I'm just going to say all. Everything, just.
Andrew Schultz
Yo, sell him the dream, bro. Sell him the dream.
Alex
Stop it.
Andrew Schultz
He's a felon. He can't even.
Charlamagne Tha God
I can't run, man.
Alex
Actually, no, I think you can.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, yeah, you can. Fucking Trump is president. What the fuck?
Alex
He just came running for president.
Charlamagne Tha God
Mayor moss corner, baby. 10 years. 10 years on the run for mayor. Monk's Corner.
Andrew Schultz
But Trump, Trump ran as president.
Alex
He wasn't a felon yet be Mayor Monk's Corner.
Charlamagne Tha God
Know what I'm saying?
Andrew Schultz
I mean, you got that easy just off face card.
Charlamagne Tha God
300 votes just on Facebook.
Andrew Schultz
Yo, Loki, people don't realize how few.
Charlamagne Tha God
Votes it takes to win.
Andrew Schultz
I do.
Charlamagne Tha God
I've been looking. I'm like, all it take is this many people. Okay, Mare moss corner. Here we go.
Andrew Schultz
Probably fire go get you a little $40,000 a year, you know what I'm saying?
Charlamagne Tha God
Cooling. I done made good. What's up? We out here. What's happening? Charlamagne needs a nap. What is this?
Andrew Schultz
All right, let's check it out.
Charlamagne Tha God
What is this? We haven't done this in a while.
Andrew Schultz
What's up with you, though? How was your week, man?
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, week was great. I went on another college visit. Oh, which one? My daughter's in college. Visit season. I don't want to say, but I'm going to tell you something, man.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
I ain't never seen no college like this motherfucker, bro.
Andrew Schultz
In a good way, in a bad way.
Charlamagne Tha God
Great way.
Alex
Tell me.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, because then people gonna know what I'm talking about. I'll tell you off here, but let me tell you something. This is a college that whatever you spending is worth it. It was to the point where one of the. Because we was on the tour, like, you know, you do the tours. It was like three. It was like three families. So it was me, my daughter, my wife, another couple and their daughter, and another couple and their daughter. And at some point, man, one of the guys looks around and goes, well, when the fuck do they go to class? That's the problem. Y' all got all this shit on campus.
Andrew Schultz
That's the problem.
Charlamagne Tha God
Where the fucking classrooms, yo.
Andrew Schultz
Like, that's the issue.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, God damn.
Andrew Schultz
But that's the issue.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, I was thinking, oh, all jokes. I'm sitting there walking around like, if I knew that some shit like this existed when I was young, I probably would have wanted to go to college, bro.
Andrew Schultz
It's. The amount of shit that we had on our campus was crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Where'd you go?
Andrew Schultz
I went to UC Santa Barbara. But you got the gym. Every sport you could ever imagine, access to whatever you could possibly think, all for free. And you wonder why you're spending all.
Charlamagne Tha God
Some examples of access of just, just.
Andrew Schultz
Any, any sport you can imagine that you could play. There's like an organized version of it. So. From beach volleyball, regular basketball, tennis.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's regular soccer.
Andrew Schultz
But the amenities, I mean, what, what, what is. What could you. Like, my school is literally on the beach. Like, you looked at the ocean from the classrooms. Okay, give me more. What would you want?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Alex
Was it like fencing? Was there.
Andrew Schultz
I'm sure there was versions of it. Rowing. Yes, I'm sure.
Charlamagne Tha God
Imagine a. Imagine a luxury resort on a. On a. On a beautiful island. And the resort wants to keep you on the island. So it would have all these fine dining restaurants and.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. We just had like mess halls and.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. Yeah. I gotta tell you off. I've never seen no shit.
Andrew Schultz
But this is why it costs a hundred thousand dollars a year to go to these stores.
Charlamagne Tha God
And that's all I kept asking after about halfway through. Like, how much does it cost, though?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
How much does this shit cost?
Andrew Schultz
Yup.
Charlamagne Tha God
Right.
Alex
Sounds like a timeshare. They show you all the good. First of all.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, my God. And it was. I mean, it's amazing. Like. I mean, they give you, like, you pull up and they got. They got the kids names on Marquis.
Andrew Schultz
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
That are just visiting. Like, wow. And then. She ain't no playing no ball. She ain't no ball. You know what I'm saying? Oh, you just. You really giving that in the cookies. They gave us these cookies at the end. I told the guy, I said, I'm be honest with you. The cookies might have really done it, bro. I had to. I said, tell me where the fuck you got.
Andrew Schultz
Were they recruiting your daughter for this Is just. You going to visit a store. Wow.
Charlamagne Tha God
Tell me where. Tell me who the fuck you got these chocolate chip cookies. And he told me, and they only sell them by the bulk. And I bought them.
Andrew Schultz
Wow.
Charlamagne Tha God
I had to.
Andrew Schultz
What'd you think?
Charlamagne Tha God
Incredible. Even at the house. Because they come in the fucking cookie dough, and you bake them. Oh, I might as well say it. Fuck it. Otis. What's the shit called? Otis Bunken Meyer.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a. That's a. But that's a regular cookie. That's like a Subway.
Charlamagne Tha God
I never had a regular cookie.
Andrew Schultz
A Subway. Subway's cookies.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, nah, nah, That's. Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
Subway got the oldest. Funkenmeier.
Charlamagne Tha God
Subway got the oldest. I used to love Subway cookies.
Andrew Schultz
That's why you love them.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, Otis, I don't know who the fuck you are. Otis is no joke. Otis Spunkin Meyer is incredible, yo. And you can order them by the vault, and they come in these frozen little cookie. I never had them before, man. And I'm a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur. I ain't never had the oldest. Funkin Maya, bro. So y' all been having this shit all the time and never told me?
Andrew Schultz
We told you Subway.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, nah, nah, nah. I fuck with Subway cookies, but Otis Spunkenmeyer Chocolate Chunk.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Whoa.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa is right.
Charlamagne Tha God
Whoa.
Andrew Schultz
Can you tell me why you walked off this CNN election special and go.
Alex
To bed after eating all these cookies?
Andrew Schultz
That's what happened.
Charlamagne Tha God
Here's the thing.
Andrew Schultz
Did you notify them you were going early?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, man. Listen, here's the thing. They asked me to do the CNN election special on election night. I. I really can't believe this became a story. But I'm going. Tell you what really pisses me off. This says, star liberal walks off much hyped CNN election special to go to B. Y' all make up y' all mind. What y' all want me to be, okay? My undercover MAGA are my star.
Andrew Schultz
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Charlamagne Tha God
What am I.
Andrew Schultz
No, no, no. You know, remember. Remember last week? I don't know if I called you or. We sat on a pod where it's just like, we're the first ones over the hill. We're the first ones on the beach. So we get shot.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, right?
Andrew Schultz
And I was like, you know what? It's a good thing that everybody's coming to these conclusions. And it's a good thing for the party. It's a good thing for America.
Charlamagne Tha God
Remember? I said, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schultz
Fuck all that.
Charlamagne Tha God
Fuck all that. It. I don't give a fuck. Somebody called the radio station this week, and it was like, you know, Charmaine, I don't know if it's because you be with Andrew. Like, first of all, when me and Andrew been doing this podcast for 13 fucking years. Like, what the fuck are y' all talking about? We've been doing this pod for 13 years, bro. What the fuck? I'm telling you, people are not used to any nuanced conversation.
Andrew Schultz
No, but now everybody's dick riding us.
Charlamagne Tha God
But hold up with this CNN shit.
Andrew Schultz
Now everybody's saying the exact same shit we've been saying for two years.
Charlamagne Tha God
Never get cracked. They roasted me last week for simply saying, I think Democrats have lost this shutdown, bro. They have no leverage.
Andrew Schultz
And now everybody's saying the exact same thing, literally a week later.
Charlamagne Tha God
Avery Hilton.
Andrew Schultz
Every talking point for the last two years, every single criticism of the Dems we've had for the last two years is now common knowledge within the Democratic Party. It's common knowledge within the Democratic political pundits. It's the exact same shit we've been saying for two years, which they've been calling me MAGA for and you Megaphore, for the exact same.
Charlamagne Tha God
They don't know what the fuck I am. I'm maga. I'm liberal, I'm a grifter. All I'm simply saying is common fucking sense. I watched this whole shit last week.
Andrew Schultz
Nah, they gotta pay us.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm like, this shit been going on. It's the longest government shutdown in history. I'm like, republicans have zero reason to budge. They got everything they want in the big beautiful bill. What? Why would they ever make concessions with Democrats? So I'm just like. And I'm looking at all of these federal workers who are calling the radio station, who I'm meeting at the food banks. Imagine being a federal worker. You've never been on no snap, no Food Aid ever in your life. Now you gotta come down to the food bank to get groceries. Cause you ain't been paid in 40 days. I really think that some people speak from such a position of privilege. They don't know that 67% of the country lives paycheck to paycheck. And when you miss one check that holds everything off. Literally not getting paid for 40 days could have a person evicted. You know how many people I know that have been getting eviction notices because the landlords don't give a fuck?
Andrew Schultz
I don't care. I don't care about the government shut down. They're like, I got bills too.
Charlamagne Tha God
They don't give a fuck. Yeah, the fucking child care people don't. People literally. I know people that have to take their children out of child care. And you know what pisses me off the most? A lot of you motherfuckers that are saying shit like, hold the line, hold the line, hold the line. Have you done anything to help these federal workers? Have you done anything to help these, you know, these food banks?
Alex
My go lie. So I was in the position of they should have held out. And literally today I was at the food bank for NYC giving out in Brooklyn, downtown Brooklyn, for federal workers that are out. And that alone convinced me. You know what?
Charlamagne Tha God
It was tough, by the way.
Alex
Hold on.
Charlamagne Tha God
Say that again. You said it was for federal workers.
Alex
Federal workers.
Charlamagne Tha God
How long was the line, bruh?
Alex
We were there from 11 to 1, nonstop. That convinced me. I was like, oh, okay.
Charlamagne Tha God
I went to the airport in this weekend. I'm going through the fucking security. One of the TSA agents throws the plastic bin, right? You could just tell it was just frustrated. He threw it. And one of the other TSA agents said something to him. He goes, I don't give a fuck. I'm not getting paid. No way. How the fuck can you not feel for these people?
Alex
And people think it's over and they.
Charlamagne Tha God
Still haven't got paid. They still ain't got paid yet. Now they are getting their back pay. Allegedly. They're supposed to be getting their back pay.
Alex
Yeah. But it still has to pass through the House and Trump has to sign it. So technically, we're still in the shutdown.
Charlamagne Tha God
And when I. When I spoke to somebody and is.
Andrew Schultz
It going to pass the House?
Alex
Most likely, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
More likely, yeah. When I spoke to somebody in the Democratic Party about two weeks ago, they said to me, verbatim, they said pinning a shutdown on any issue around the ACA was a foolish idea.
Alex
Why?
Andrew Schultz
Because Affordable Care Act.
Charlamagne Tha God
Affordable Care Act. Because, number one, the Republicans got everything they want in the big beautiful bill. Right? And also you have Republicans who have made whole careers opposing the Affordable Care act, so why would he all of a sudden flip and do anything in support of it? Like, they always fall in line. If it's fuck Obamacare, it's fuck Obamacare. And it's gonna be fuck Obamacare until eternity. Until they come out with Trumpcare or whatever. Which. Bless you. God damn. What the fuck?
Andrew Schultz
I'm getting over it.
Charlamagne Tha God
You need some goddamn Affordable Care fucking. You gotta snot all in your fucking mustache. God damn. I gotta wash my hands. I drink the motherfucking sanitizer here, man. That was a Covid sneeze, bro.
Andrew Schultz
That wasn't Covid. No, I'm getting over it. I was sick for like two weeks almost.
Charlamagne Tha God
God. But at least you got motherfucking healthcare.
Andrew Schultz
Why are you acting like this is my fault?
Charlamagne Tha God
It's not.
Andrew Schultz
What the fuck was that about? Why are you saying, like the fuck. At least you got healthcare. What does that got to do with me?
Charlamagne Tha God
All I'm saying is, man, it's fucked up that people gotta choose between being sick and starving.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, I know.
Charlamagne Tha God
We shouldn't even be in that place in America. America should be the basics, should be food, clothing, shelter, health care. That should be the basics for everybody. But sadly, people got to make a choice. And my thing is, if Republicans weren't going to budge, and we knew they weren't, why keep the government shut down and just cause double, triple the suffering?
Alex
I think the reason for it is there are more Republican constituents using snap. And so eventually, if Dems held out long enough, then Republicans have to hear from their constituents and it's like, yo, maybe we are forced to budge and give them something so we can, you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Know, Republican, you know, Republicans don't give a fuck about.
Alex
I understand.
Charlamagne Tha God
Their constituents, I understand, but because that's what. Because not only. Not only was it a government shutdown, Trump went and said, make sure they don't get their SNAP benefits. That's just cruel, bro.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. Wait, wait, wait, wait. He said what?
Podcast Announcer
There are years worth of funding available for the SNAP program. Our tax dollars that we have already paid to the federal government to facilitate this program. And the Trump administration deleted this language from the website this morning. They are hiding the fact that that not only is there more than enough funding to pay these benefits that we have already paid our tax dollars into, but that there was contingency language to ensure that even in the event of a government shutdown, that SNAP would go uninterrupted. The Trump administration and the Republicans supporting him are using food as a political weapon.
Charlamagne Tha God
He made it through. Let me look it up. Let me say the right thing. I don't, I don't, I don't.
Alex
So there's like a fund that. Like an emergency fund.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Alex
That they have. If a situation like this were to happen where people, they can still pay the SNAP benefits out and they. Trump was like, nah, we not going to tap into this fund.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes. Trump. Supreme Court allowed Trump, the administration to temporarily withhold some SNAP payments for November. So that's just cruel.
Alex
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
On top of everything else that's going on, to be like, nah, withhold the SNAP payments. God damn. Like, what the fuck? So it's just like, yo, man, I. For me to get on the air and say that last week, that's Just common sense. I'm looking. I'm. I'm speaking for the people, the federal workers. I'm speaking for the people I know not getting the snap payments.
Alex
Okay.
Andrew Schultz
So can you. Can you break this down? Me for. So.
Charlamagne Tha God
And then hold on a week later.
Andrew Schultz
Yep.
Charlamagne Tha God
When the Democrats do exactly what I knew they were going to do all along, now people mad at Democrats, which I think is ridiculous, because Democrats threw a Hail Mary on behalf of the American people.
Andrew Schultz
So, yeah, that's.
Charlamagne Tha God
They knew that they had no shot in hell at this point. They did it anyway.
Andrew Schultz
So that's why I want to break this down. Okay, so this is about passing the big beautiful bill.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Andrew Schultz
Okay, so they're trying to get this big, beautiful bill passed.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, it's passed already.
Andrew Schultz
Okay, so then what is this specific boat about?
Charlamagne Tha God
They were trying to get the.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, I'm sorry. Not the big beautiful. Sorry. The big Billfield bill is passed. Right.
Charlamagne Tha God
They were holding out because they wanted the aca, but this is renewing the.
Andrew Schultz
Budget, like, so every year that they have to vote on the budget or whatever.
Charlamagne Tha God
They were trying. What do you mean? Yes.
Andrew Schultz
That's what this is about.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, yes, yes, yes. So they kept the government shut down because they were trying. They want to get the aca. The extensions on the ACA subsidies.
Andrew Schultz
Yes. Okay, sorry. Not in. Maybe big beautiful bills pass, but the.
Alex
Changes in the big beautiful bill is what affected.
Andrew Schultz
Triggered these other things.
Alex
Yeah, the subsidies in the.
Andrew Schultz
So what they were trying to do is hold up. They being, I imagine the Democrats, they were trying to make sure that the.
Charlamagne Tha God
ACA subsidies were extended. Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
That the ACA subsidies were extended. And so what they were doing is holding up the passing of the budget.
Alex
Yep.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Andrew Schultz
In order to leverage that change that they want.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Andrew Schultz
Which feels benevolent. Right. Because it's like we want to help out these people who are going to.
Charlamagne Tha God
See their health care premiums beyond righteous costs. Because people. People's health care premiums are going to skyrocket. Some people just going to lose their health care altogether. Like, it's a. It was. They were on the right side of history.
Andrew Schultz
And then can you explain to me why health care is so impacted by this? Why is the government. Why is the government subsidizing health care in such a way?
Charlamagne Tha God
Haven't they always.
Alex
Not always, but it's just, it's so expensive. Like, healthcare costs have risen so much that you have to raise premiums for insurance companies to make money, and regular people can't afford this increase. So the government is subsidizing that increase.
Andrew Schultz
So I guess what I'm trying to understand is, like, are insurance companies taking advantage of the fact that the government with a. Sure, yeah, bottomless bank account, I'm sure. To subsidize.
Alex
Absolutely.
Andrew Schultz
And if they are doing that, how can we effectively keep people on health care but attack these insurance insurance companies that are essentially like, being greedy?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I was thinking. I was talking to one of my. I was talking to one of my homies last week, and they were telling me about this procedure that they got to get. And the procedure without insurance is literally like $150,000 or some shit, Right? There's some other shot that they got to get that's in the tens of thousands. I'm like, yo, there's got to be some form of price gouging, yo, there's no way this shit cost this.
Andrew Schultz
This is the same thing when it comes to universities for kids. The idea is if the government is going to back loans, student loans, no matter what, the universities can charge really whatever they want because you need to get a college education if you want to be part of the workforce. And that college education is guaranteed, backed by the government. So there is no real incentive to not do it. Right. The second somebody might say, and I don't necessarily want this, but like, somebody might say, oh, if we just remove this, like, endless bank account for your degree, for example, you want to get a degree in poetry. That's your right. Yeah, but we're not going to give you $300,000 in student loans to get a degree in poetry because you might not be able to get a job that's going to be able to pay that back. All of a sudden, a degree for poetry might come down. There are arguments that will poke holes in this, I'm sure, and there are negative aspects to it as well. But the idea being if you prop up whatever the cost of something is greedy, people will find a way to charge more for it so that you will pay for it. Simple as that. Because you know you will. So there's a part of me here where it's like, the insurance companies must be culpable and they must understand that these subsidies will go pay these rates, so they must be spiking rates knowing full well that the government's going to step in and pay because they don't want to leave their people uninsured.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, you're right, though. The insurance companies are culpable. That's why you see motherfucking, you know, Mangioni. Exactly. So that's just the reality.
Andrew Schultz
Okay, so. So is there a version? And again, like, I'm ignorant to all this stuff, but, like, is there a version where, okay, we've passed this, we can get the government workers their food, their pay? I think that you make a great point where there's like a lot of these, like, privileged rich pricks talking on TikTok and social media out of here that like, literally don't know a single person that is a government worker that is working paycheck to paycheck and they're just like, hold the line, hold the line, hold the line. It's like, yeah, that's easy for you to say. You talking to a fucking phone for a living. You know, somebody that actually is a job and a family, that they rely on that paycheck every single fucking week.
Charlamagne Tha God
I hate when they go, you know, we gotta make sacrifice. Every struggle requires sacrifice. Sure, yeah, you, you, you first, you first. Yeah, you first.
Andrew Schultz
You sacrifice. TikTok pundit.
Charlamagne Tha God
I hate that shit so much, yo. I mean, and by the way, I understand the logic of it all. I don't. But also too. Where's the plan?
Andrew Schultz
I don't understand the logic.
Charlamagne Tha God
If you're going to shut the whole government down, how about have something in place for your constituents?
Andrew Schultz
So.
Charlamagne Tha God
So here's no federal workers are going to be impacted. You know, people that don't get snapped gonna be impacted. How about have something in place? So remember that guy that gave that 130 million, even though that was legal, gave that 130 million.
Andrew Schultz
Where's that for the people? Yeah, what the fuck? So here's the. Here's the thing. I'm wondering. It's like, why don't you just pass it, right? So these people that work for our government, the people that worked in these thankless jobs don't have to suffer and their families don't have to suffer. Why don't you just pass it? And then knowing full well that Republicans also don't want their constituents, as you said, I think more of them are on the Obamacare and. Oh, sorry. More of them are snap, so. More of them are receiving SNAP benefits. I don't know where they are with the Obamacare, but, like, they too are incentivized to make sure that their people have health insurance and that they have food. Right? Yeah. So, like, why don't you, after passing it, then work on a bill that will meet the demands of both parties? It seems like there's gonna be a lot of bipartisan support there.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, not in this day. And Age, Really? No.
Andrew Schultz
You think the Republicans would starve their own people?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes. Interesting.
Alex
They were just doing it.
Charlamagne Tha God
This is not our grandparents. Republicans. Okay. They just did. Yeah, they just did it. They just did it. I will say you'll probably see some. Well, Republicans have had eight years to come up with their own healthcare plan and haven't done it yet.
Andrew Schultz
Well, are they just in the pockets of big health care?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Andrew Schultz
Well, so are death, by the way.
Charlamagne Tha God
Both of them are. Let's also talk about this.
Andrew Schultz
This is the same lobbying shit. It's like everybody wants to talk about AIPAC all the time. It's like, yeah, talk about aipac, but also talk about these fucking medical lobbies that are doing the same exact thing, taking advantage of the American people.
Charlamagne Tha God
And guess what? All of those lobbies should have came out of pocket. The fucking pharmaceutical lobbyists, the pro Israel lobbyists, the real estate lobbyists. Oh, Dims. I want to shut shit down. Y' all got to dig deep and come up with some money for these motherfucking federal workers and these people that don't have. That don't have SNAP benefits.
Andrew Schultz
That's actually a fire thing. That's how you could have kept it open, kept that.
Charlamagne Tha God
Republic still wouldn't have budged, though.
Andrew Schultz
They wouldn't have budged. But you could have at least made an effort and show that you're looking out for your people.
Charlamagne Tha God
You got to have a plan. Everybody talks about going to war. Where's the fucking war plan?
Andrew Schultz
Well, when you hate the billionaires, who's going to pay for it?
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, you want. Also, you want to talk about that? I'm on the radio Thursday. As soon as I saw CNN shit going down at the airlines, I go, oh, this shit'll be over in a couple of days. Cause it's always corporate interest over the interests of the people.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. Cause we don't want to have a bad travel holiday season. We want people spending money.
Charlamagne Tha God
This is when black people start hearing airlines missing. Airlines are gonna be fucking losing tens of millions of dollars a day. Oh, yo, yo. I don't know who the fuck they is, but they start calling the powers that be, like, all right, y' all better get this shit fucking back open. And what happened?
Alex
And they did that over the weekend.
Charlamagne Tha God
Over the.
Andrew Schultz
That's quick.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, the airline started acting up on Thursday. They stayed the weekend to get that right.
Andrew Schultz
Isn't that interesting?
Charlamagne Tha God
Get the out of here. It's always going to be corporate interest over the interest of the people in America until the people stand up or we.
Andrew Schultz
Until we just get the money out of politics. It's very simple.
Charlamagne Tha God
That ain't happening.
Andrew Schultz
Why not?
Charlamagne Tha God
It could, but it ain't.
Alex
It's going towards it. People are opening their eyes and they're like, creating lists for any politicians that take lobby money. They're not gonna vote for them.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, y' all ain't voting.
Alex
Coming to the thing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Y' all ain't voting.
Alex
No. There's gonna be some politicians that run and don't take money from big lot.
Charlamagne Tha God
I gotta see it to believe it. I'm not saying that it can't happen. I just gotta see it to believe it. Yo, I gotta see it to believe it. I really gotta see it to believe. But by the way, that means that it's gonna end up being a billionaire. That motherfucking doesn't need the money. That don't need the money, then. Well, then what?
Andrew Schultz
Like, that's the other tricky thing about the billionaire stuff is, like, these politicians making billionaires the bad guys, you know, saying that they got to pay their fair share when they know damn well that, like, billionaires exist outside of the tax code. So it's like, you really saying we're going to tax them, we're going to get them to pay their fair share, but, like, you know that the tax code itself doesn't have any way to actually tax them. They're making capital gains money. They're not actually making income. They're taking loans out against their stock, and then they're writing off the interest on the loans, you know, as a loss against whatever money they do make. Like, the tax code didn't plan on there being billionaires. So they don't have a way to, like, fairly tax.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's funny as shit when you think about it. They're like, somebody might have 60 horses.
Andrew Schultz
I mean, that won't happen.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
No way.
Charlamagne Tha God
God damn.
Andrew Schultz
So. So it's this. It's this weird thing where it's like they've become the scapegoats, they've become the bad guys. But there's no actual way where you could tax them the way you. So you know who you end up taxing? You end up taxing the doctors, you end up taxing the lawyers. You end up taxing all these people. I mean, us obviously included. I don't want to act like we're not escaping, you know, but like, you end up taxing all these people that you don't intend to, and you tax them more, and then the billionaires still don't get taxed. Yeah, but you use Them as a boogeyman. You use them as the bad guy. Where it's like, why don't you communicate to your constituents that the billionaires exist out of the tax code? The tax code is based on tax taxing income. And they don't make income anymore. They have so much money that they don't need income and that you have to find a new way to extract wealth from them because all you're doing is putting the burden on that tax on the doctors and the lawyers and entertainers, some of us. And this group of people is going to pay more because this group of people that you've been rallying against isn't going to change at all. Right?
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, no, that makes sense. You know, the billionaire thing is so interesting because I don't think billionaires are inherently bad. I don't believe that whole logic about.
Andrew Schultz
Motherfuckers ain't even billionaires. Charlamagne.
Charlamagne Tha God
They're like, it's net worth.
Andrew Schultz
It's like they got a billion dollars in on paper, like hard assets and.
Charlamagne Tha God
Stocks and stuff like that.
Andrew Schultz
So, like, the valuation of your company is, you know, 4 billion, and you own 50% of it. So you have $2 billion. But, like, do you have $2 billion? Like, do you actually have it?
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know. Like, some of them, yes.
Alex
Because you can get loans to have that.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, no, I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that they don't. But my point is that, like, something catastrophic could happen tomorrow and then you have nothing. Whereas, like, they can sell their stuff, but someone gotta buy it.
Charlamagne Tha God
But you, but you always, you know.
Andrew Schultz
It'S like, who's gonna buy a company?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's when they always doing well, when you see them lose a bunch of money, it's usually because, like, they lost a bunch in stock.
Andrew Schultz
Like. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. There are billionaires. There are like the real people who actually have homes and shit worth billions of dollars, like real estate around the world, like, these families do exist. But what we think of billionaires, a lot of these people that, that own these, like, stocks that have skyrocketed 200% over the last like five years. Are they? Yes, they are.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
How are you going to tax them? Like, they're not taking that money out from the stock market.
Alex
But I would, I would say, or. And I feel that a lot of billionaires are. I wouldn't say necessarily bad people, but they're doing bad things.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, I don't believe that. I don't believe that.
Alex
So if you're worth so much, like a Bezos or like the Walmart billionaires or whatever, if you're worth that much, that means the company's worth that much. That means you can afford to pay your employees more.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay, you're conflating two things. You're right. See, what I was going to say prior was people always say that billionaires have to do bad things to get to where they are. I don't believe that. But I do agree that if you have a super multibillion dollar company, pay your motherfucking workers a livable wage. You know what I'm saying?
Alex
If you're actively not doing that, I look at that.
Charlamagne Tha God
I agree with that. I agree with that. If you're a multi billion dollar company, pay your fucking workers a livable wage. But I don't think that people become billion. I don't think people become billionaires just because they did bad things. Some of people become billionaires because they created something that became a necessity for people. Like, did Steve Jobs, did he not deserve to be a billionaire? We can't stop using these motherfuckers right here. You know what I'm saying? Like, does Elon Musk not deserve to be a motherfucking multi billionaire?
Andrew Schultz
The issue isn't billionaire. Like billionaire is just like this holding term. It's not about billionaire. It's about there are people that exist outside of the tax code and you would rightfully want them to pay their fair share or whatever the fuck it is.
Alex
Yeah, but I think that's part of it. But also the practices of those billionaires, I think it kind of. It's fucked up.
Andrew Schultz
Well, there's a moral issue. Like I would imagine if these people are doing things that are illegal, then there would be some sort of justice for it. Now could they do things like, for example, it is not illegal to pay somebody minimum wage. You would think if you're the most successful company in the world that you would pay your employees even more. But they're not doing something that is illegal. True, right. Like you would think that that is the right thing to do and it's a good thing to do. It's a just thing to do. But they're not doing a thing that is illegal.
Alex
Yes.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, that's what I said. Whereas like, we know that there's a lot of mom and pop places that like pay people less than that because they're making tips or whatever the fuck I got. So like technically that's illegal, but they can't afford to do it. So what we're looking at is somebody that has, like, astronomical wealth. And we're like, why aren't you treating people a little better?
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
And I'm sure those people would be like, I gave away $100 million to solve AIDS.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn.
Andrew Schultz
What do you want me to do?
Charlamagne Tha God
You know?
Andrew Schultz
Like, in their mind, they're like, nobody gives away more money than me. How can these motherfuckers want more than that? And I think we're sitting here probably going, why don't you give that money to the people who work for you so they can feel like they're making more.
Charlamagne Tha God
I had a woman say that to me, man, and I. I thought it silly. I. I posted about how, you know, Little Duvall provided 35,000 meals in Jacksonville. I posted how Tyler Perry did the 1.4. He gave 1.4 million organizations that, you know, like, food banks for people that don't have SNAP benefits. And I did like a carousel with, you know, in the. The 400,000 plus meals I did in New York. And a woman in the comments said, why don't y' all just give us that money in our pockets? Nobody wants to go stand in line at a food bank. Like, God damn. Yeah, it's like, what the fuck? No, that don't even make no sense. Yeah, no, I would rather. I would rather help provide what a mass amount of people need as opposed to going around giving people cash. Because the cash. I don't have enough cash. I can use that cash to provide more meals and groceries for people than I could going around just actually handing people cash. If I hand people cash, I might help 10 people.
Andrew Schultz
Listen, there's another full bank.
Charlamagne Tha God
You help a hundred thousand.
Andrew Schultz
There's another thing where it's like, I don't. And again, I don't know, but, like, if you pay your employees more, your company is less profitable, which I imagine would affect the valuation of your company, not them.
Charlamagne Tha God
Companies like Apple and fucking.
Alex
Yes, it will.
Andrew Schultz
I think it would too.
Charlamagne Tha God
Amazon.
Alex
Yeah, I think making less profit.
Charlamagne Tha God
These guys aren't paying. They're not even paying taxes. You understand what I'm saying? So if they're not even paying taxes.
Andrew Schultz
He makes a good point too, which is, like, if Amazon can make it look like they don't make any money at the end of the year, then maybe profiting isn't important. Again, I don't know. But, like, I agree with you. Maybe they feel like I can impact the world in a. In a better way if I'm donating $100 million, but there's also a version where, like, a lot of people do that as a shield. It's like, if you got billions of dollars, people hate you, so you got to do some nice shit. So go, all right, listen. We hate him because he's rich, but he does, you know, provide this for all these people. And he did try to solve the mosquito disease.
Charlamagne Tha God
Got to be a compassionate capitalist. Would you want to be a billionaire?
Andrew Schultz
No, I have no interest.
Charlamagne Tha God
I got asked that question recently. When you get asked, somebody introduced me as that, like, I was doing an interview.
Andrew Schultz
Put it this way. It's not a goal.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, it's not a goal.
Andrew Schultz
It doesn't mean anything to me. For me, there's a number where, like, I don't have to work and I can maintain the lifestyle I really like. And, like, that's, to me, the goal.
Charlamagne Tha God
Numbers have never been my goals.
Andrew Schultz
Yo, that's good.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's always wanting to do something. Like, I have goals of things that I want to do. It's never like, I want to be a billionaire. I want to make 100 million. Isn't like, I've never been that. Now when you get put in certain positions and you start making certain investments, and somebody tells you what you could make, you start thinking like, oh, you know what I mean? But it's not like, what's that song? I want to be a billionaire so fucking bad. That's never been my mindset. But I did an interview recently, and somebody introduced me as a future billionaire, and I said, from your mouth to God's ears. But then when I thought about it later, I'm like, I would never be a billionaire, probably. Yeah, it does. Because I know. I personally, I like seeing multiple people getting money.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
So I wouldn't want to hoard all of that wealth. If I got a billion dollars. I want to create, like, 1,000 millionaires, then. You know what I mean? And when it comes to. Yeah. And philanthropy, I'd be giving a lot of it away. Like, you know, there's like, you make sure your kids are good for the future. You know, hopefully their kids can be good off what you leave for them. But everything else is like, share the wealth, bro.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I mean?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, I agree.
Charlamagne Tha God
Now, if you got a product that's just making you billions, it's not like I'm gonna be like, oh, no, stop. No, I don't want it. That's just stupid. But I would still be just an amazing philanthropist. Like, that shit that fucking Jeff Bezos wife be doing, and that shit is amazing.
Andrew Schultz
To me. What? Ex wife.
Charlamagne Tha God
Her ex wife?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, my God. Like giving hundreds of millions of dollars to HBCUs. That's fly.
Andrew Schultz
That's crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why is it crazy? Why is it crazy?
Andrew Schultz
Nah, it's not. It's just crazy. Come on.
Charlamagne Tha God
That misogyny. Fly. Why? I know what you're thinking.
Andrew Schultz
Nothing. Misogyny. She built the company with him.
Charlamagne Tha God
She did. That's right.
Andrew Schultz
She was there from, like, day one. No bullshit.
Charlamagne Tha God
And that's what people don't talk about enough.
Andrew Schultz
And they should.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, A good woman. Help you build a great company.
Andrew Schultz
That's why I had to get rid of her, because she was giving too much fucking money away. Well, you can't build a real company when you got some lady trying to give $100 million away every single fucking day. He's like, how am I supposed to build this business? How am I supposed to go to the moon when she's trying to give away the rockets? This girl's trying to give away a rocket every single day. I'm trying to go to the moon.
Charlamagne Tha God
I knew it.
Andrew Schultz
I know it.
Charlamagne Tha God
I knew it. I knew it.
Andrew Schultz
What?
Charlamagne Tha God
I knew it.
Andrew Schultz
It's true. And you know it's true.
Charlamagne Tha God
I knew it. No, when. I know it's true when I said it, the first thing that pops in your head is misogyny.
Andrew Schultz
Me?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes. But you didn't say nothing. You let the cocktail mix. You know what I'm saying? I do like to let the cocktail mix.
Andrew Schultz
I do like to make a little martini.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's crazy. That's crazy. That's crazy.
Andrew Schultz
Just, just, just.
Charlamagne Tha God
And then once that shit was ready to go, then I shook that shit up, poured it over the ice, gave.
Andrew Schultz
It to you, you know, Got you a little drunk. Like that girl giving away a hundred millions of dollars.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, but listen, that's fly, though. Let's fly. It is her money.
Andrew Schultz
And I hope. I hope that she, you know, gets the appreciation she deserves. Though I do think it's a little different, because I don't think people see it as her money. I think they see it as her giving away Jeff's money.
Charlamagne Tha God
I wish I knew her. What's her name? That's the first Melissa part of getting her the reputation she deserves. Not calling her Jeff Bezos wife, and.
Andrew Schultz
We don't even know her name.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think it's Mackenzie.
Andrew Schultz
I think it's Melissa.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I think it's Mackenzie. I think it's Mackenzie. Yep. Mackenzie Scott Bone. Yo, shout out to you. Mackenzie.
Andrew Schultz
She married a teacher and then they divorced.
Charlamagne Tha God
No.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
She got remarried.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. And then they divorced.
Charlamagne Tha God
You got half?
Andrew Schultz
I don't think he got half.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn.
Andrew Schultz
I think he's allowed to teach at one of them HBCUs.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shut the.
Andrew Schultz
Yo, do me a favor, man. Hey, do me a favor. Hey, excuse me. South Carolina State. Is that ASBC?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, MacKenzie. What you doing? Yo, MacKenzie. South Carolina State need 20. What's up?
Andrew Schultz
South Carolina State, can you take on my man?
Charlamagne Tha God
South Carolina State need 20. Listen, but did we finish? I didn't even talk. I walked off to cnn, but I told them I was leaving.
Andrew Schultz
Is that where this started? Yes. Holy shit.
Charlamagne Tha God
I told them I was leaving. Guys. Like, they knew I was leaving. Look at them. I was only gonna be there for an hour, and then I tagged in Tesla and Figaro, and I was out.
Andrew Schultz
Look at them. Trying to podcast, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
Everybody wants.
Andrew Schultz
Look at the channel. Podcast, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
I saw. I saw something that somebody wrote that was so funny. They said that CNN had a relaxed set with, like, arcades and pool tables and stuff, but it was like nobody ever got up from the chairs. And it's true.
Andrew Schultz
Like, who's designing this shit where they got to put the arcades in the back?
Charlamagne Tha God
Like. Like, do I look like I play arcade games?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Does Ben Shapiro. He plays arcade games?
Andrew Schultz
You guys are all 100 years old talking about politics. Why the fuck you got a capital calm game in the background?
Charlamagne Tha God
Now drinks I'm all for.
Andrew Schultz
Did we all sipping on something?
Charlamagne Tha God
I didn't. But drinks I'm all for.
Andrew Schultz
Why didn't you sip on something?
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know.
Andrew Schultz
You know, sometimes you gotta sip.
Charlamagne Tha God
I ain't want to sip.
Andrew Schultz
I don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know why I didn't sip. I don't. I don't know. Probably could have had to get up in the morning.
Alex
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, discipline, baby. Discipline. Shout out to big Taz, the hood whisperer, though, man. Salute to Taz. What else we got, Alex? Tez, you want to pay some bills?
Andrew Schultz

Now, I don't want y' all to get no ideas in New York because they said in New York we about to have the coldest winter in years.

Maybe they'll be on sale by the time you see it. But yeah, let me go look up the exact thing. There's a Rhode island comedy festival and.
Charlamagne Tha God
I love Rhode Island.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, Rhode island school. When did you go up there?
Charlamagne Tha God
I'll be going to Rhode island for my daughter's cheerleading competitions. I go to Rhode island probably like once a year.
Andrew Schultz
March 28, Providence, Rhode Island. The Providence Performing Arts center as part of the this Rhode Island Comedy Festival. We did not go to. We did not go to Rhode island last tour.
Charlamagne Tha God
One of the most underrated food cities in America.
Andrew Schultz
Really? Rhode island, because they got all the. The seafood right.
Charlamagne Tha God
Underrated food, but they also got all the Italians. Hold on. It's a biscuit spot. I like out there. What's the spot?
Andrew Schultz
Hold on.
Charlamagne Tha God
Rhode island biscuits. I shouted them out too. I think I shouted them out here and it was super happy. What's the name of that spot? It's a biscuit place, bro. I can't remember the name of that. Is it irregardless? It's a biscuit sandwich shop. Hold on. You should go there when you go. This biscuits are so good. I don't remember the name of it. Oh, no. It is eerie. Yeah. Irregardless. Andrew Schultz
All right, we gonna do it then.

Andrew Schultz
This shit is damning.
Charlamagne Tha God
House Democrats released alleged Jeffrey Epstein emails that referenced President Trump. Donald Trump can't lie. This is the. This is the first time in a.
Andrew Schultz
Long time Jeffrey Epstein reportedly called Trump the dog that hasn't barked.
Charlamagne Tha God
What did that mean?
Andrew Schultz
I don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
You don't come.
Andrew Schultz
I thought the. I thought the allegation was that Trump knew about him. Here's the wild thing. There's a. I gotta go get it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, he said. He said in 2011 in the email. Epstein went on to state that an alleged victim spent hours at my house with him. He has Never once been mentioned. What does that fucking mean? I don't. I don't. Give me some Cliff Notes. Not from shade room. Give me salute to shade room. But give me. Pull up something I can read. What the fuck is going on quickly. But I gotta say, this has been a great couple of weeks for Democrats.
Andrew Schultz
Let's see what they do with it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Because don't think that it's a coincidence that soon as they agree to vote for the shut the government to be reopened. Except email drops. Don't think it's a fucking coincidence. It's all redacted, though. Why would they be sending emails about this shit? Sometimes you got.
Andrew Schultz
No, no, I don't think the email's about this, but I think that like there was. There was an email I think that was sent in 2014 where like Epstein's just saying all the people that are going to be there. And I believe 2009, if I'm not mistaken, he was convicted of the sex charge with the minor. Right.
Charlamagne Tha God
They said the Trump administration just held a situation room meeting. US lawmakers have released 22,000 pages of documents from Jeffrey Epstein's estate, including some that reference Donald Trump. Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released three small free email exchanges before Republicans released a much bigger. What is that trance trying to say? What's a T? What's a trans. Say tranche. Tranche. What's a trunks?
Andrew Schultz
It's like a bunch.
Charlamagne Tha God
Was that the shit between your ass and your. What is that? Is that like another name for a gooch?
Andrew Schultz
No, Tranche is just like, I think a bunch of emails.
Charlamagne Tha God
One of the three exchanges released by Democrats is between Epstein, a convicted sex offender who died in 2019, and his associate Julaine Maxwell. An email from Epstein to Maxwell in April 2011 reads, I want you to realize that that dog that hasn't barked is Trump victims spent hours at my house with him. The White House says the unnamed victim referenced is Virginia Gufre, who repeatedly said President Trump was not involved in any wrongdoing whatsoever.
Andrew Schultz
She killed herself recently.
Charlamagne Tha God
Ooh. The name Virginia also appears in an unredacted version of the email released in the wider gooch. Democrats say the email strike a blow against the White House. Epstein cover up while Trump says the Democrats are deflecting from how badly they've done on the government shut down. Two things could be true, guys. Two things could be true.
Andrew Schultz
No, this is not good. The question is, does the American do the American people and I can't believe we're having this conversation. Do the American people Still have the appetite for Epstein. I could not fucking believe it. There was that famous interview or something like that where Trump was like, you guys still care about Epstein. And like we were like, yeah, we all care about Epstein. This is the thing that you guys said that you were going to expose fucking finally. And I mean, I haven't heard a peep about Epstein. This thing gets. Just gets dropped. I don't even know if they move to actually do it. And here is my theory as to why.
Charlamagne Tha God
Talk to me.
Andrew Schultz
Here's an email in one of the gooches. Doesn't look like you're prioritizing your schedule very effectively. Somebody I think texting or emailing Epson schedule very effectively. How are we going to manage all of this and that. This is ungo week, so the boss will be in town too. I'll be here all week. You may get sick of me. Just sat down with the train so can talk freely.
Charlamagne Tha God
Just sat down with the trains.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. So then here's something that was a response to this.
Alex
Girls.
Andrew Schultz
Question mark. Careful. I will renew an old habit this week. Teal Summers, Bill Burns, Gordon Brown Jaglund, who's the Council of Europe and Noble Chairman Mongolia. President Hardeep Puri, India. Boris Gates, Jabor Sultan, Dubai, I guess Costlyn, Harvard. Leon Black, Woody, you are a welcome guest at any. Also, if you think there are interesting people in town, everyone here for Climate Summit, Clinton Security Council. Holy shit. I'm on something for the next 30 minutes. I don't know if he's saying all those people he's interacting with or if they will be in town and that person can do it, but to me it's like if he's interacting with those people and this is happening in 2014 when he's already a convicted pedophile, why are you still engaging with somebody who's convicted of that?
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, I felt, but I felt like.
Andrew Schultz
That'S like a who's who list. But I feel like people in the world.
Charlamagne Tha God
I felt like that. I think we talked about that on Brian Ennis before. Because he got convicted in 09, right?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, I think so.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I'm saying. So, like, why was anybody dealing with him after 09?
Andrew Schultz
Well, yeah. Why do you have an office in Harvard after 09?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I'm saying. Like. Like the shit never made any sense to me. You asked a great question. Do people still have an appetite for Epstein? It's interesting, right? Cause we knew I said Democrats should never stop talking about Epstein, but the zone got flooded so crazy, son.
Andrew Schultz
The zone got flooded. Talk to me. Cause I have. I have theories on this.
Charlamagne Tha God
It just got flooded. Like, it got flooded with, you know, I mean, the government shutdown definitely, definitely flooded the zone. You know, 40 days of people not getting no paychecks. The snap benefits. Like, it was a lot of other things also.
Andrew Schultz
What is rage?
Charlamagne Tha God
The ice rage. Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
What is the discussion online, though? Let's just be honest. What is the online discussion doesn't mean it's the mainstream discussion. Mainstream discussion is a little bit different. It's getting there. It's being pulled in the direction. But what is.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know what it.
Andrew Schultz
The discussion online is right wing. It's the Jews. The Jews. The Jews. You know, Dave Portnoy is doing a pizza review and some guy is yelling some at him like it's Jew. And then the left wing is Israel. Israel, Israel. So it's like they're almost touching at the tip right here that it's the horseshoe theory people talking about. But that is what is dominating the online discord, really. Jews and Israel online. Yeah, mainstream. I mean, like the biggest podcasts, like the number one podcasts in the world right now are all people who are going to specifically be talking, harping on those things, like Candace Tucker. Like, that is the online discussion, and it has moved away from Epstein. Epstein was a majority online discussion. Yes. People in the mainstream would talk about a little bit, but it wasn't as active as, like, it was for a while. Yes, yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
Even mainstream. It was for when he got. When he. When he first. Yeah, no, no, no. I'm talking about this year.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, it definitely was for a while. Especially, like, why aren't they releasing 500?
Andrew Schultz
When Cash Patel changed his tune on. On Rogan, the mainstream picked it up, but I think they picked it up as a way to get a win on Trump. Right. It's like, yo, you ran on exposing this and drain the swamp. Now it looks like you're covering it up. So. But again, to me, that's an online discussion.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, we're definitely covering it up.
Andrew Schultz
So. So it's like for me, I'm looking at the online discussion and seems like the obsession right now is either with Jews or Israel online. And I'm curious if that has. If there is room there for Epstein. If they can tie Epstein to Israel. 100%, there's room.
Charlamagne Tha God
They did. Yo, you ain't see this.
Andrew Schultz
I know there was the.
Charlamagne Tha God
Everybody hold. I was like, who the. No, you know what I'm talking about.
Andrew Schultz
He had the Spy staying at his house.
Charlamagne Tha God
What the. Yo, who was this guy? Yo.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, they, they. So he had the Israeli spy who was working under Aubarak staying at his house?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. And he helped Israel sell a surveillance.
Andrew Schultz
State to, like, an African nation, right?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. What is this shit? Cote d'. Ivoire.
Andrew Schultz
Cote d'.
Charlamagne Tha God
Ivoire Leaked email show the details behind talks between Cote d' Ivoire and Israel shepherded by Ehud Barak and Jeffrey Epstein. Who the fuck was this guy?
Andrew Schultz
Yo, Epstein.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
So he was the ultimate facilitator. That's what I think it is. It's like this guy knew all the richest and wealthiest people, and then the rich and wealthy want to do business with other rich and wealthy.
Charlamagne Tha God
This type of shit, bro.
Andrew Schultz
Well, that's.
Charlamagne Tha God
You don't let your fucking ecstasy deal a fucking help Israel sell a surveillance video to Cote d'. Avar.
Andrew Schultz
If you're somebody that worked in defense, right? And when you were in government and now you're out of government, what's your expertise? What you gonna do for a living? Damn, you're not gonna work in insurance, you're gonna work in defense. You're gonna sell that bitch to other countries that need it, right? So who do you do to get connected to those people? Oh, this financier that for whatever reason has all these connections. I don't know, but it is very damning to look at this thing and be like, why is there a known spy staying at your house? And why are you coordinating deals on beh of a foreign government? Now what the defense would probably say is, why can't he connect people? Why can't he facilitate things for friends? Are you allowed to have friends in other countries and allowed to do things on their behalf? Is that illegal? Does that mean that you're also a spy? That's what they would say. But this is the type of stuff that's coming out. And this is the question that people have, will they be interested in this thing? I personally think they should. I would like some fucking justice for these girls. But the Internet seems to be so singularly obsessed with one fucking conversation. Right and left, they just frame it a little differently. The right frames it is Israel. Sorry, the right left frames is Israel. The right frames, it is Jews. But until they are able to move off of that, like, the left pretends to care about, like, the mainstream left talks about ice. The mainstream right talks about immigration, right? So it's like the mainstream media talks about.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's always a versus, right?
Andrew Schultz
It's like, it's like, it's Two sides of the same coin. But they're not getting at what the online conversation is. And I'm sure that they're a little concerned to have that online conversation because that shit is radioactive.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think most of these conversations start online, though.
Andrew Schultz
Well, they do. And it takes time for the mainstream to be able to access what's going on there, because they've got to look through, like, 40 different lenses. Like, should we amplify this? Can't we do this?
Charlamagne Tha God
I think that's all they do now.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't think nothing. Like, everything literally starts on social media for the most part. You could be watching television and you'll see a tweet pop up. Such and such just tweeted this, or such and such just posted this on TikTok. Like, everything is reactionary to social media, which is dangerous because that's where a lot of the bots live. That's where it's so easy to manipulate conversation. It's so easy to get different things trending and talked about. Next thing you know, mainstream is taking it and validating it in some way just by even having a conversation about it.
Andrew Schultz
This is. This is what we were saying about the Riyadh Comedy Festival, right? Which is like, for a week, everybody was talking about it. Literally two weeks go by, nothing. Now Mr. Beast is building a water park out there. Not a single peep about it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Not just Mr. Beast, they got the women's basketball league.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, yeah, yeah. So it's just like.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, no, stay that. Let's stay here for a second.
Andrew Schultz
You want to talk about the women's basketball league?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, I want to talk about people's fake outrage over.
Andrew Schultz
Well, this is. To what you were saying. It's like. And this is the concern with mainstream media. The concern is that it can all be manipulated by the sponsors of the show or the people who own the mainstream media platforms, right? So if, like, you're the pharmaceutical industry and you're sponsoring the show, you're not going to be making any jokes about pharmaceutical companies, and you're not going to be making any jokes about, you know, getting people addicted to opioids, right? You're going to be quiet about that. They can put that leverage on. Or if you own the company and you have certain, you know, allegiances, you're going to make sure that those allegiances are taken care of, right? If you own the media company, right. But online, you can also fake the news through bots. You can also fake it through astroturfing, through fake comments, and you can make something feel bigger than it is. You can make it feel like it's an actual, real story, when in reality it's nothing and nobody.
Podcast Announcer
Actually, I want to raise my three beautiful children, Adelina, Raul, and Joaquin.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's Tanya.
Alex
Stand up.
Andrew Schultz
That was just. Yeah, but. Yeah.
Alex
One thing that's a little bit strange is that, like you just said online, one side's talking about Israel, one side's talking about Jews. That conversation is so loud. Why isn't mainstream media talking?
Andrew Schultz
Well, they are, so. But. But they.
Alex
Jews in Israel.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Alex
I feel like they're.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
Are you. Yes. On cnn, every night is a conversation.
Andrew Schultz
They're reacting to it. Right. So they're reacting to the online conversation. They're reacting to Nick F. Tucker. Right? Like, they're reacting.
Charlamagne Tha God
I saw that all last week.
Andrew Schultz
They're reacting to Candace. Like they're reacting to the online conversation. Right. But these things start and exist online. And now the mainstream media apparatus is kind of like a reaction channel. It. It's fascinating to see.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's a. That's a perfect. Yo. That is a perfect example. Like, all of these mainstream networks are like reaction channels now. Literally. Literally. I don't know any news that starts on the news anymore.
Andrew Schultz
And they try to frame stories that, like, that they would rather talk about. You know, for example, like, they would rather. The right. Would rather the right. The mainstream right, or the neocons or whatever they are. It's like they would rather the issue be about immigration. So they frame everything through immigration. This is so bad. Immigration's bad. And listen, we have had horrible immigration policies. I'm not saying that there isn't a justification to criticize, for sure, but they need. They would try to frame every. They want to frame the housing crisis through immigration. Right? Because they don't want to just be like, it's the Jews, right? So they're like, we can't let that happen. And then the left does the exact same thing. They're like, oh, look what they're doing to immigrants. Look what ICE is doing. That's mainstream. But the online conversation, it ain't about that, really. A little on the left with ice, but mostly what I'm seeing is, well.
Charlamagne Tha God
See, I thought, would I be online? That's funny how algorithms work. When I'm online, all I see is ICE Ring. All I see is people capturing ICE raids and showing what ICE is doing in all of these different cities all across.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, I think ICE exists on the left. I think ICE exists as a talking point.
Charlamagne Tha God
No ICE exists, though. No, no, no.
Andrew Schultz
Meaning, like it exists as a talking point and a leverage point against Trump. Like, it is one of those things that if you're trying to show, like, how dehumanizing Trump is, you go, look what his administration is.
Charlamagne Tha God
The shit they be doing is crazy. They be pepper spraying kids. Like the shit. I've seen them. You saw the guy that caught a seizure? No, he was holding his infant in his hand. He's holding his infant. I'm like, what is so, like, bro, it can't be that serious.
Andrew Schultz
So this is, so, this is. Listen, it's obviously horrific and fucked up when you see it. What I believe the administration's goal is, and it's not just through ice, it's also through, like blowing up the boats from Venezuela. That should have his little Battleship game that he's been playing.
Charlamagne Tha God
That should have, yo, what Latino hurt that nigga? Yo, son, I'm serious. We got to start asking some other questions. You know, what Latino hurt Trump, yo.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, so damn. So what I think the, the strategy of the administration is essentially we have to, we have to make it look too dangerous to even try to come here. So, for example, they're, in my opinion, they're actually not trying to make ICE look humane. They actually, when people on the left are posting these videos of how inhumane ice is, I think it's actually helping the right wing goal.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know who said that before?
Alex
Like, I thought the same thing and I thought that's why they're giving more funding and increasing the size of ice, because they're going to have so much turnover by the ICE agents, what they have to go through and they're going to leave.
Charlamagne Tha God
Said that before. Our resident Jewish agent Chris said that.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Way I'm talking about before Trump even got elected, he was like, like, it's gonna be a show. He was like, it's gonna be a show. People from wanting to come over here.
Andrew Schultz
And what they're basically trying to do is go, look how horrible your life is gonna be if you come here illegally. So in a way, when people on the left are like showcasing how horrendous this is and they're posting these videos and like, look how inhumane ice is. They're doing the media amplification for the Trump administration. The Trump administration is not going, hey, let's be really delicate and polite. They're like, nah, we wanna let you know you're not welcome here. And it actually is working, right? I think they said, like, illegal border crossings are down to, I mean, practically nothing. We don't know, because people don't raise their hands when they show up. But like they're much less. And I would imagine with the drug cartels thing, it's like if you keep blowing up the ship, at a certain point the drug cartels either go, we can't risk this in terms of the drugs getting caught because it's cost too much money. And then the drivers of the boats go, I'm not getting in the boat. They fucking blow up every single boat.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, but you got to actually blow up drug cartels. Yes, they blowing up fucking fishermen. Boats.
Alex
Boats.
Andrew Schultz
Well, that, that is, I, that is not true. There's no way.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what they said.
Alex
Those boats aren't making it to America. So it's like if you're gonna attack drugs coming into America, attack boats that are actually bringing drugs, bringing the drugs. Like maybe they're bringing drugs to other places in Latin America, but from where they're leaving, those boats can't make it to America.
Charlamagne Tha God
It doesn't make no sense.
Andrew Schultz
Well, they're basically. Yeah, that's, that's, that's, that's what I'm saying.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's like, it don't make no sense.
Andrew Schultz
Do we know that for a fact?
Alex
Yes, yes.
Andrew Schultz
That those boats cannot get. But do we know that those, I.
Alex
Would imagine, maybe refuel on the way or something?
Andrew Schultz
This is what I would imagine.
Charlamagne Tha God
Or they've been debating now this. They've been debating on mainstream news and they've been showing the videos. Yeah, it's like it's, it's in there. It's kind of, it is kind of pointless what they're doing. And Pete Hex stuff can't show any real example of what it is that they're doing.
Andrew Schultz
So the reasoning for it, what I would say is that those boats I imagine are going from like a main place that has all the drugs and then they disseminate them to a bunch of different places and then some of those drugs are eventually going to make it to America, make it to other places too. So maybe this is. And again, it looks like the administration's goal is deterrence. So maybe what they're trying to do is we're going to get it at the source. The second the drugs leave the shores of this place, we're blowing it up. So don't even try to get drugs over here.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't think that's like, like, look at this. It's like, look at this headline from two days ago.
Alex
Change. And they want to just control Venezuela and get to the oil.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like.
Andrew Schultz
No, that's a good point.
Alex
They want.
Andrew Schultz
That could be the. It could be regime.
Charlamagne Tha God
This. The New York Times. US Military kills six in strikes on suspected drug bolts.
Andrew Schultz
This isn't.
Charlamagne Tha God
You're just killing suspected.
Andrew Schultz
So this is, this is an interesting argument. Like, could they be trying to provoke Venezuela into acting back so that they could go in there and just effectively make the regime change happen? I don't know enough to even be.
Alex
Saying about either that or just framed them as, look at this bad country. They keep sending drugs that we have.
Charlamagne Tha God
But there's no proof that it's drugs.
Andrew Schultz
On these boats because it got blown up.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, but you can't do that.
Andrew Schultz
But here's the thing. Trump could do whatever. No, no, no. I will be honest.
Charlamagne Tha God
76 people already.
Andrew Schultz
I will be honest, though. If people are bringing fentanyl into the country, Right. We're not talking about fun drugs. Like, if they were bringing, like, weed into the country, you're like, yo, what the fuck is going on here? If you're bringing fentanyl into the country and America blows up the boat, like, I don't feel that crazy about it.
Alex
Yes, but it's not coming from Venezuela. Ethanol is coming from China, which goes through Mexico.
Andrew Schultz
All right, so then if the boats are coming from Mexico with the fentanyl, then that's.
Alex
Then they would have a better argument. They're really.
Andrew Schultz
So you're saying for a fact that it is. It is known that there's no fence in all these boats and they're still blowing up.
Charlamagne Tha God
Read it to you. Hold on, I'm about to read it to you.
Alex
None of us can say for a.
Charlamagne Tha God
Fact because, listen, they blow up the boats. Listen, I'm going to read it to you. The US Military killed six people on Sunday and two more strikes on boats suspected of smuggling drugs in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Defense Secretary Pete Hexaf announced on Monday. The latest strikes raised the death toll in the campaign to 76 people in 19 attacks in the Pacific and the Caribbean Sea since early December. In a post on social media, Mr. Hextef cited intelligence and included two short video clips of the bombings of two separate boats that he said were traveling along a known narco trafficking transit route in the eastern Pacific. One of the boats appeared to be at full stop with two visible passengers and possibly with an outboard motor raised out of the water. The other was moving at high speed. But in neither case, and we've heard this a million times, did Mr. Hecseff provide evidence for his claim that the three men aboard each of the two boats were smuggling narcotics. He said the attacks took place in international waters. Every time one of this shit happens, they never provide evidence.
Andrew Schultz
Okay, but they also haven't provided evidence.
Charlamagne Tha God
That Epstein killed himself.
Andrew Schultz
No, they haven't provided evidence that there was no drugs on the boats either.
Alex
Yeah, but come on, Sharks? Like that's not enough.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hold on.
Alex
Let me reason to attack somebody, but.
Charlamagne Tha God
Let me tell you why people say they're illegal. They say a wide range of specialists in laws governing the use of force have denounced the killings as illegal because the US Military is not allowed to intentionally target civilians who pose no threat of imminent violence, even those suspected of being criminals. The Trump administration says the strikes are lawful because President Trump has determined the cartels of the United States is in a formal armed conflict with the cartels. What if you just out there fishing.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? And they just say, nah, that's a drug boat.
Andrew Schultz
Do y' all really believe that they're just blowing up fishermen in Venezuela?
Charlamagne Tha God
I think it's possible.
Andrew Schultz
Come on, y'.
Charlamagne Tha God
All.
Andrew Schultz
Yes, that this is where you lose the plot.
Charlamagne Tha God
This won't be the first time that the Trump administration has not measured twice to cut once. Yeah, but this is where same guy was using signal.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but this is where you lose the plot, man. Like, this is what's going to happen.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, here's the thing.
Andrew Schultz
To your point, it's like getting upset at Trump for renovating the White House. Like, there's all these people who've never even been in the fucking White House.
Charlamagne Tha God
But listen, to your point, we can't say that they're. We can't say that they're not either.
Andrew Schultz
Though I think it would be in the best interest of Hegseth and the administration to prove that there's fence at all.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's it.
Andrew Schultz
That would be a very smart thing to do.
Charlamagne Tha God
Lawful, constitutional way of thinking.
Andrew Schultz
It's not lawful or constitutional.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's definitely lawful because it says illegal. If. What if what you're doing is right now accused of being illegal?
Andrew Schultz
No, what I'm saying is that, yeah, it's illegal. Like, just because they tell us doesn't make it lawful. Like, if you shoot.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, they have to.
Alex
You're both saying this.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. Lawfully. They have to do it. They have to provide evidence.
Andrew Schultz
No, no. Before the lawful way to do it.
Alex
Before.
Andrew Schultz
There's no way that you can do that. Before. They're just shooting them with drones in the sky.
Charlamagne Tha God
But they're saying that you're not even supposed to be doing that, because these people don't pose any imminent threat. They're just. They're just. You know what I'm saying? Like.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but that's debatable because it's like, if you're bringing fentanyl to the. To the country, it's like, that is an imminent.
Charlamagne Tha God
Do you just blow up drug dealers, though? I'm not saying that I'm arresting. I would like some due process, as I'm saying.
Andrew Schultz
No, due process is crazy. It's like, what is. That's the other thing. It's like, if you know that somebody is bringing death to your country, you have to give them due process. Like, should we have due process? Pearl Harbor? Like, do we go, okay, guys, land the plane? So we could give you a nice little court date, and we could figure out why you were trying to fly planes into Pearl Harbor. No, you shoot the fucking planes out this guy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Once you see they're not landing, that's an imminent threat that you know is coming to attack you. Right? There's not a guy in the wall. And I'm listening. I don't. Once again, I don't. This is why these conversations get tricky, because you like, all right, if they are smuggling drugs, yo, you out of here. You know why? You defended. But I don't think you should kill them.
Alex
You don't have the death penalty for drug dealers here. Why would we have the death penalty for drug dealers?
Andrew Schultz
Because they're not from here.
Alex
Just.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why you just say them? Because they're not from here.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, that's crazy. You're gonna bring. You're gonna bring death to our country and think that you're gonna not die for that.
Charlamagne Tha God
You're not bringing death. You're bringing drugs. Oh, he's just being okay.
Andrew Schultz
Nah, I don't.
Charlamagne Tha God
Even when that bike starts going downhill any Pete, you know, hey, yo, Schultz is coming downhill. When I listen in Kinfield, South Carolina, when I was growing up, my daddy had a cousin, okay, named Rel. Rel was, like, kind of legally blind, but still would drive and shit. And you could hear his truck coming down the road. Nobody tried to stop Rel from driving. He's like, everybody get out the fucking car. Like, show. When these shows gets like this just, like, go, all right, Go get.
Andrew Schultz
If somebody's bringing destruction to your country, don't. You don't think.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, you're completely. You can't say. It's like, America. You got to be specific.
Andrew Schultz
So we were supposed to. Down the plane is destruction.
Charlamagne Tha God
Gonorrhea's destruction.
Andrew Schultz
If there was bitches bring chlamydia over here. You got to shoot them before they land. You got to blow up that boat, too. You got to blow up that boat, too.
Charlamagne Tha God
Boat full of chlamydia. No.
Andrew Schultz
Boat full of chlamydia. You're going to let that land on the shores? You're going to bring them into the courthouse and ask them?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, there's something else going on that we're not privy to. How does it look? There's something going on that we're not privy to. I'm gonna listen to the experts, okay? And I am always leery of people who just don't wanna show evidence.
Andrew Schultz
No.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cause my thing is this. If you ain't doing shit wrong, just show me.
Alex
Exactly.
Charlamagne Tha God
It ain't that. Right. It ain't rocket science, y'. All. If you're not doing anything wrong, then just show me you're not doing anything wrong.
Alex
It's regime change in oil.
Andrew Schultz
It's just funny to me that, like, there are people that were happy Charlie Kirk got shot because they disagreed on a. And they're fighting for due process for people who are driving fentanyl into the fucking country. Like, what the fuck do we live in? Why. Why do we have more humanity for people who are actually profiting off of killing Americans?
Charlamagne Tha God
But you shouldn't be like those people.
Andrew Schultz
What do I got to do?
Charlamagne Tha God
Don't become what you hate.
Andrew Schultz
What do you mean?
Charlamagne Tha God
You're Christian.
Andrew Schultz
I hate people trying to kill Americans. You hate people try to kill them. So if you try to kill Charlie Kirk or if you're trying to bring fentanyl in here. I hate both of y'.
Alex
All. Yeah, but you don't know if they're trying to bring fentanyl in.
Andrew Schultz
If they were trying to bring coke, I would celebrate them.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, here's the thing. I don't think they might be. Here's the thing. I don't think Charlie Kirk should have been killed for, you know, his rhetoric. And I don't think that the people in these boats should be killed if they are illegally. If they're smuggling drugs. Right? But here's the thing. The only difference is. I was about to say the only difference is one person committed a crime. Both of these people are allegedly committing crimes. If we believe the specialists. Both. They're all crimes. This stuff is not supposed to happen.
Andrew Schultz
So what is the punishment for somebody trying to bring fentanyl into the country?
Charlamagne Tha God
I would think you just run down on them and fucking arrest them. Don't they got. What's the shit in the water. Don't they have police?
Andrew Schultz
Water, water, police, Coast Guard.
Charlamagne Tha God
Coast Guard, Yeah, like I would think. I don't know. I don't. I don't. I mean, we gotta put them.
Andrew Schultz
We gotta put him in jail.
Alex
You lock them up.
Andrew Schultz
So we got to use taxpayer dollars and put them in jail here. Because, by the way, you want to.
Charlamagne Tha God
Know where the drugs are coming from.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
Say again?
Charlamagne Tha God
Wouldn't you want to know where the drugs are coming from?
Andrew Schultz
We know. We track the boat.
Alex
We don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
Drugs on a boat.
Andrew Schultz
I think we know.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't think they know, bro. That's the whole point. That's why people are upset.
Andrew Schultz
Now we got to show how we know. But maybe the problem.
Charlamagne Tha God
God damn.
Andrew Schultz
Well, yeah, that's all we're saying. Yes, but we can't give away our intelligence.
Charlamagne Tha God
Thank you for coming.
Andrew Schultz
Yo, we can't give away our intelligence.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's on signal, I guarantee you.
Andrew Schultz
On.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, you probably changed the WhatsApp by now, Pete. Probably on WhatsApp by now. Just go to Peach Signal or WhatsApp and you'll know exactly what's going on.
Andrew Schultz
I'm telling you, man, just let them play Battleship.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, we don't want to play Battleship.
Andrew Schultz
The President of the United States of America should be able to play Battleship if he wants.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shut up. Shout out to Chris Jenner. Shout out to Kris Jenner. 70 years old. Click on this picture, man.
Andrew Schultz
Man.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, click on Chris J. I thought this was Kim.
Andrew Schultz
Nah, whoever. Whoever. Like, whoever. Whoever's doing her thing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, how come the Kardashians don't get Illuminati rumors, though?
Andrew Schultz
Because they piped for it. They know how they got it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, you mean that Kris Jenner can look like. Yo, Kris Jenner look like she has been bathing in baby blood.
Andrew Schultz
But here's the thing they did the thing that we accused the Illuminati of what? Took Dick to be famous.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, but that's. That was in the beginning stages.
Andrew Schultz
What I'm saying is. But they've been famous since the beginning stages. Like if you're part of the Illuminati Charlemagne, they try to give gay rumors and say that you took Dick to be part of the Illuminati, right?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
Okay, we know that they did that. There's no rumor.
Charlamagne Tha God
There's a video that was beginning stages.
Andrew Schultz
I know. What I'm trying to say is that.
Charlamagne Tha God
She got her King magazine in a reality show.
Andrew Schultz
That's where it starts.
Charlamagne Tha God
But when you start aging backwards, when you start looking. Benjamin 30 at 70.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. I mean, she looks fantastic.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's when you start putting the pieces of the baby on the pizza.
Andrew Schultz
Yo, with.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm trying to tell you there's some other shit going on.
Andrew Schultz
With all due respect.
Alex
Respect.
Andrew Schultz
Ken, can we just. With all due respect, for a second right here? It's. With all due respect, I. I got it. What do you think it looks like down there?
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't want it. I don't want to have.
Andrew Schultz
With all due respect, I don't.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't have a conversation.
Andrew Schultz
It's.
Charlamagne Tha God
With all due respect, never even thought about it.
Andrew Schultz
It's with. If we were to have it. With all due respect, they have rejuvenation down.
Charlamagne Tha God
I know.
Andrew Schultz
There's a world where it looks. There's a world where it looks. It looks like a bunch of Epstein emails came through.
Alex
Okay, that's stupid.
Andrew Schultz
All right, guys.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, I. Listen, I don't know, bro, because y' all don't want to deal with the reality of the situation.
Andrew Schultz
Who is y'?
Alex
All?
Andrew Schultz
Y'. All.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cause whatever's down there made Bruce run the hundred yard dash to another gender.
Andrew Schultz
Or he loved it so much he wanted one for himself.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn. I would dap you up, but you fucking put snot all over. God damn. Chris Jenner looks so good. I want one that's cold, but it's different. That's what happens when you look at the bright side of things. See, I'm always so negative.
Andrew Schultz
Now you gotta look at the bright side.
Charlamagne Tha God
If you look at. Look at things with some optimism.
Andrew Schultz
Optimism?
Charlamagne Tha God
The fucking pussy is half fucked.
Alex
Wait a minute.
Andrew Schultz
I don't really know where you're going with it, man. I feel like we're back in the Venezuela discussion.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, but you're right, the pussy.
Andrew Schultz
With all due respect, it doesn't matter.
Charlamagne Tha God
What'S said on the pod, as long as you're right.
Andrew Schultz
Chris's is so fire.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's a great point.
Andrew Schultz
It made Bruce want one.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's great.
Andrew Schultz
We always talk about the influence of Kim. Nobody's more influential than Chris, the matriarch. She turned her husband into her wife.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's the matriarch.
Andrew Schultz
Her vagina is so fantastic that literally the greatest male athlete in the world at one point in time.
Charlamagne Tha God
Respectfully, Respectfully. I want to say this respectfully. When I think about what Andrew is saying, just from a scientific perspective and.
Andrew Schultz
Also from a respect perspective.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, scientific, respectful perspective. I think about what Andrew is saying. If there was some rejuvenation, right, then it got to look Brand new. If you are, Bruce, you're looking at it like, oh, I can go get one of those made, too.
Andrew Schultz
Yup.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn.
Andrew Schultz
It's possible. Hope.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn.
Andrew Schultz
Hope.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn.
Andrew Schultz
She was selling hope, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn.
Andrew Schultz
Bruce got him a little Barack Obama.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
What Hope. Oh.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh. I get what you're saying. I pick up, I see what he doing. It don't matter. We just pop. What you think?
Andrew Schultz
I was saying he got the dark lips. Oh, okay.
Charlamagne Tha God
Speaking of new renovations, what else we got? What else we got?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. We could talk about renos. Isn't there one? If there's one thing you were just going to let Trump do and not complain about it, is it not just a real estate renovation? Renovation. I know. We have to be angry at every single thing Trump does. I know. That's people's identity.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think the real estate renovation bothers people for a couple reasons. When you have people not receiving SNAP benefits, when you have federal workers not working, but you're watching him throw these lavish parties and do renovations for $230.
Andrew Schultz
Million, but the government's not paying for the stuff.
Charlamagne Tha God
Gave Argentina 20 billion, allegedly. Yeah. Give Argentina 20 bills.
Andrew Schultz
I agree with you. The timing is crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I'm saying.
Andrew Schultz
I agree with timing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay, but, like, why would you believe that he's spending his own money? Remove.
Andrew Schultz
It's not his own. I think it was like, he got donors or whatever like that, but it doesn't matter. The point that I'm trying to say is, like, remove. Timing. Just the act. I know there are people. It's their whole identity. No matter what he does, they have to say it's the worst thing in the world. I get it. You can make a lot of money doing that. I get it. I understand.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, I get what you're saying.
Andrew Schultz
I understand online Persona that. That people is very profitable, and that's what they have to do for the next three years or whatever. I get it. If there was one job, even if you hate Trump, if there's one drop that you could just go, you know what? I'm not going to be outraged about this thing that he's doing as president. One job. Not negotiating peace, not negotiating a big, beautiful bill. Not negotiate. Or blowing up fucking battleship. Not any of that. Just if there was one thing that you go, you know what? Okay, I think Trump will be able to do this, would it not be renovating a piece of real estate?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, because it's not renovating, it's demolishing. And I think people will love one thing they took. They Tore the whole.
Andrew Schultz
No.
Charlamagne Tha God
Did you see the pictures?
Andrew Schultz
Yes. It's a little section, bro. When they pull it up.
Charlamagne Tha God
What are you talking about?
Andrew Schultz
They're adding. They're adding as much.
Charlamagne Tha God
He knocked out a whole wing.
Alex
He said he was crazy, by the way.
Charlamagne Tha God
This is the algorithm. He don't know. He might be serious.
Andrew Schultz
Nah, I'm dead serious, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
Look at. They demolished the whole.
Andrew Schultz
They're using the pieces of the ships. They're recycling the ships. They're recycling the battleships.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think that people look at. They look at the White House as sacred, and they don't want to see that happen.
Andrew Schultz
Well, the motherfuckers that work at the White House that I've spoken to are all like, that shit is ass. It needs to be upgraded. When we ever. We throw a dinner, an event, we got put tents outside because there's no room inside to do these things. You need more space.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't. Listen. I don't fucking know. I just know people don't like to see sacred institutions torn down. Like. But I don't even know if it's about the rental. I don't think it's about the demolishing as much as it's about where the money is.
Alex
This is.
Andrew Schultz
This is. This is the. This is the point that I'm trying to make. It's like, people want to make sure.
Charlamagne Tha God
That'S not taxpayer dollars.
Andrew Schultz
I get it. I get it. I get it.
Charlamagne Tha God
And once again, he won't show evidence and proof that it's not taxpayer dollars.
Andrew Schultz
But this is. This is my issue with people. It's like. Like when you cry wolf about every single thing, it removes this thing. The value, the authenticity of your legitimate criticisms. When you cry about the East Wing. How many of y' all even knew there was an East Wing to the White House?
Charlamagne Tha God
The West Wing? Is it the West Wing or East Wing eastward?
Andrew Schultz
I thought that the White House had just the White House. I didn't know there was wings. Nah, we stayed right across the street from it. I didn't even know there was wings things. So the point is, when people make this. Yeah, that's the one that he's renovating. So when people get up in arms about this in the same way that they're up in arms about the Epstein emails, which is a legitimate criticism, a legitimate concern, it actually takes away a little bit of. To me, like, I go, do you even care about that? Or do you just care about hating on this guy?
Charlamagne Tha God
But do we know why? But do we know. But do we know why people are Upset it because it's him.
Andrew Schultz
If he says green, you're going to be like my favorite color.
Charlamagne Tha God
The actual technical reason why do people.
Alex
Combination of things. So some people are upset that, hey, you're destroying the White House without getting permission to destroy the White House. Some people are saying you're using taxpayer dollars, and others are saying that money was donated to him by a lot of people. And what are these people going to get out of donating the money? Like pay for play type of situation? And the government shut down and you're spending money for.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, Alex isn't wrong, but let's be more technical with it. Like I said before, the historic preservation of it, Right. Like, the East Wing was built in phases since 1902 with major expansion in 1942. People feel like it's part of the historic White House complex. Critics say this isn't just a renovation, but a dramatic alteration of a national symbol, raising the question, is this our building or just the presidents? Now, now, this is why people are really upset. The lack of transparency in oversight.
Andrew Schultz
Yo, can I just tell you something that is. No, no, no, no, no. This is a great point, and I think that this is, like, a really important point in terms of American politics. Transparency should be paramount in American politics. But no Republican will take Democrats seriously if Democrats talk about corruption without talking about Nancy Pelosi.
Charlamagne Tha God
What are you talking about?
Andrew Schultz
I'm just telling you if it's.
Podcast Announcer
If.
Andrew Schultz
If you cry about corruption with the Trump administration or any other Republicans. But you never said shit to the speaker of the House for decades while she made hundreds of millions of dollars on $175,000 a year salary. If you never said one thing about it. And now all of a sudden you're like, let's track Trump's crypto. Which we should. We should track Trump's crypto. But if you never said a single thing while the leader of your party robbed Americans blind. Rob is a hard term, but definitely insider trading.
Charlamagne Tha God
Insider trading.
Andrew Schultz
Inside trade. Like a motherfucker. While people are going to jail for that shit. Right? She's making hundreds of millions of dollars off of it. If you never said a single thing about that. It's very hard to take the criticism seriously.
Charlamagne Tha God
But how do we know this criticism is coming from Democrats? It says Oversight and Historic Review Commissions either were not fully selected or they're involved here in this process. I don't know.
Andrew Schultz
Republicans give a fuck about this.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, no, no.
Andrew Schultz
But know that they just get in line with this.
Charlamagne Tha God
But these are. These are people who are if you want to make renovations like this, you're supposed to talk to these people.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, yeah, I know.
Charlamagne Tha God
And he didn't.
Andrew Schultz
He don't talk to anybody. Listen. And I'm not saying that that's.
Charlamagne Tha God
They want to know who is donating, what are the strings. Some people worry about conflicts and interests since many donors may do business with the federal government.
Andrew Schultz
Can I just say. Can I just say everything?
Charlamagne Tha God
And it's the same person that took a plane for a $400 million plane.
Andrew Schultz
Can I just say, everything you're saying is so legitimate and an amazing criticism. I think that it's like, these are really important things, and we should make sure the people in power will not use their power to enrich themselves or bypass certain systems that we have to limit people's power. Right. I agree with all this shit, but.
Charlamagne Tha God
You can't get private funding for something I'm with.
Andrew Schultz
I don't know about that one exactly.
Charlamagne Tha God
But I'm with you. You shouldn't want them to. Sure.
Andrew Schultz
I guess my point is it's very difficult for people to take that criticism seriously. If that same criticism isn't willing to be applied to the leaders of the own party. It just seems like partisan bullshit. It just seems like, how can we knock down the opposition? Because if right in front of your face, you're seeing the exact same question.
Charlamagne Tha God
But why are we so quick to blame the other side as opposed to just saying there are commissions that provide these checks and balances that whatever reason, Trump always tie over.
Andrew Schultz
Why do I trust you with politics? Politics?
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know.
Andrew Schultz
Me neither.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, no, no, no, no.
Andrew Schultz
But, like, for me, you're somebody that has the courage to call out your own party, even if that's not favorable, even if it's not popular, even if you're. You're going to be completely maligned for it with you, because you will call it right from wrong. I like to think that I'm the same in that way. Like, I just call out right from wrong. If I see it, I believe it. What I'm trying to tell you, I'm not saying that this shouldn't be called out. What I'm saying is it's easy to ignore, like Republicans just ignore the shit because they're like, oh, now you're upset. But when Pelosi is getting hundreds of millions of dollars for herself, you don't say shit.
Charlamagne Tha God
But Nancy did get a lot of smoke for. Is this exact same thing. People want the transparency. They want to make sure that people are going through the checks and balances. And when they find. When they find out she's free.
Andrew Schultz
Right.
Charlamagne Tha God
When they find so is Trump. When they find out they. When they find out that you're not going through these checks and balances is. Yes, people have the right to raise hell. And I really think that the private fund.
Andrew Schultz
I think so too, by the way. I hope you understand my point, which is like, I think these legit. These are legitimate criticisms.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think the private funding is the most important thing because, man, if you taking all of these gifts, you taking these planes and fucking private funders are building shit in the West Wing, what.
Alex
Are they getting in return?
Charlamagne Tha God
What are they getting in return? Guys, guys, guys.
Andrew Schultz
We're all in the same picture. I think we all know that. Like, I am agreeing with you in terms of all this stuff. All this stuff.
Charlamagne Tha God
Stuff.
Andrew Schultz
It should be concerned. You should be concerned about, like, the transactional nature, naturally. Because if there's transactional nature, you're going to expect something. So I 100 get that. What I find really refreshing, though, is when Republicans are willing to call out. Republican Dems are willing to call out damn, shit. And I think that an important part in the discourse in, like, being able to, like, communicate ideally, once again, is that both of both parties will at least acknowledge their own shortcomings. And a beautiful thing that's happening right now, I think with Democrats is, like, they're starting to do it. Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
How come Republicans can't acknowledge Trump's shortcomings, though?
Andrew Schultz
Well, I think you've seen it happen. Like fucking Marjorie Taylor Greene is all of a sudden.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't trust it.
Andrew Schultz
Okay, fair, fair, fair, fair. You don't have to.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't trust it.
Andrew Schultz
But what is happening?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's the flanker on the football field. Sure, she's a decoy.
Andrew Schultz
She might be, but what is happening? She's kind of like become an incredibly popular figure. Right. Why does.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why is the left so accepting of these individuals?
Andrew Schultz
It's not about accepting she has utility. It's like you, you.
Charlamagne Tha God
I get what you're saying.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. That's all it is. It's like it's. It's more effective when somebody from the other team is criticizing that team.
Charlamagne Tha God
So it's like, it's like how. It's like how the right uses my sound bites.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, exactly that. Exactly. Right. It's like anytime we're critical of Democrats on a pod, the right is going to clip and they're going to post it on Twitter because they made up.
Charlamagne Tha God
Their minds that I'm a liberal Star.
Andrew Schultz
Right, right. And it's like, so. Yeah, so I. Yeah, that's what I would say. But what I would say is there's something incredibly refreshing. Like, one of the things that makes Bernie so appealing is Bernie had been calling out his own party for decades. So all of a sudden, you start to trust him. You go, wait a minute. This guy's gonna call it like it is. And then we know the people that just tow the party line. And while it might feel good to hear them, like, rebuke a talking point, and you might feel satisfied because, like, that's how you feel. And he's going to give you an argument for it. You don't really trust that that's how he feels. A person that is unique to themselves is going to have opinions on both sides.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's a great point, because that's the reason I don't trust Marjorie Taylor Greene. Because I've been watching, and I'm not saying people can't change their mind. And I think people should change their mind. And I'm actually probably being a hypocrite, because I am a person that says, hey, man, if somebody sees that something is wrong, acknowledge that it's wrong. If you keep going down the path that you know is wrong, but you're not telling everybody is wrong. You're. You're fake to me. So, so, so, so to watch her do what she's doing now, even though I don't trust it, that is what you're actually supposed to do.
Alex
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
This is.
Alex
It's still a good thing.
Andrew Schultz
It. It's still a good thing. But, like, this is what I thought. Like, you had Shapiro, I think, on the Breakfast Club, and you called out a great thing. You were like, you. You're like, you're against reparations for black people, but, like, Jews got reparations after the Holocaust.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't remember if that was Shapiro.
Andrew Schultz
Ben Shapiro, not Joshua. Oh, yeah. And then he was like. He gave some kind of answer that he was kind of not even acknowledging it. But, like, recently, I think he was on, like, the Trigger Nometry podcast or something like that, and he was like, yeah, if you can't afford to live in a place, then you gotta move. Like, that's just what it is. And I. I don't think Ben is, like, has bad intent when he does these things, but I don't think he realizes that, like, oftentimes he holds, like, America to higher standards than he holds Israel, for example. Right. Because it's like, you're gonna tell Americans that can't afford to live in New York City, that they should go move and look for opportunities somewhere else. But, like, if you can't afford your own wars, then maybe you shouldn't fight them. Right. So, like, you have. If what. What I think that people get frustrated at is like, you gotta keep that same energy if you are for government assistance, if you're for government support, if you're for government aid for Israel, then you should at least be understanding of government support. Government aid for the American people. And I don't think he's doing this with bad intent. Like, I'm actually trying to give him the best read possible here, like. But I. I think it's hard for.
Charlamagne Tha God
People to see past their own personal issues sometimes.
Andrew Schultz
Yes. And I'm sure that's like, very near and dear to him. So I do have respect for that. But at the same time, like, somebody watching it is going to go, wait a minute. We can give billions upon billions of dollars for this thing over here, but when someone is saying, we need to make a city more affordable, you're saying, nah, it is what it is. Like, this is the system. You got to move somewhere else and look for opportunity. They're going to naturally go, whoa, this feels hypocritical. He might have a great argument for it, and that's fair, but the feeling people are going to have, he goes, that guy's a hypocrite. And it looks like he's prioritizing this one thing over this thing. And that's something he should think about when he's communicating.
Charlamagne Tha God
And my problem is I can see where everybody's coming from. I completely understand what Ben Shapiro is saying, because I saw many people, especially during COVID they was like, I'm getting the fuck out of New York, right? This shit is too expensive. I gotta stay in this cramped ass apartment. I can't leave. Mad people took the dash down south, right? And I can also see where Andrew is coming from. And Andrew's like, yo, if you, a country that, you know, can't afford to fight your own war, then maybe you shouldn't be fighting them. I see it all.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
And that's my problem.
Andrew Schultz
Or. Or we start to go, hey, you know what? It's okay to want to help people here, and it's okay to want to help people.
Charlamagne Tha God
I see that side too.
Andrew Schultz
But we don't go. This is the only one that we help. And this is what we don't. Our conservative values don't go out the window when it comes to helping foreign.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nations, you know, sometimes we should help.
Alex
Here first before we help.
Andrew Schultz
Well, I think I agree with that. That's what a lot of Americans are feeling right now, which they should. Like this is, you know, you got to help home. Like, I care about Americans more than I care about anybody else.
Charlamagne Tha God
Do you know, sometimes when you're having conversations with people, and I really mean this wholeheartedly, it is very rare when a person is just completely wrong. I'm talking about if you just take a step back, leave all your personal biases and just be objective and actually just listen to a person. You can almost understand where everybody is coming from. But then you gotta make a decision on, okay, I can understand where you're coming from, but which one of these ideas is going to benefit the most?
Podcast Announcer
Most.
Charlamagne Tha God
The most of us? I think that's what a lot of people do nowadays. Either it's either one or two things. You either have your own personal biases, you're not being objective, you're not listening, you don't give a. Whatever this person says is wrong because they not on what you on, they not on whatever side you're, you're repping, they're against what you're against. So you just dismiss them. Right. But most of the time when you're listening to good, you're listening to ideas, you're going to take the best idea that you think can help the most people. That's what I think we got to start doing.
Andrew Schultz
I think, I think you're 100, right. I think we try to do that. It's just sometimes I think like, I think that's what Mumdani is at least trying to do. He's like, hey, we're gonna do these things and these things are gonna help. I think what often happens in, in reality is that sometimes the good ideas don't lead to the outcome. Sometimes good ideas do lead to outcomes and it's awesome.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schultz
But sometimes good ideas don't lead to the outcomes you want. Like the number one thing that's going to change affordability of rent in New York City is just building more apartments. It's not freezing rent, it's not doing anything else. But building more apartments. Freezing rent is going to skyrocket rent on the apartments that are in what's called the free market. It's when he freezes the rent. People who have not rent controlled or rent stabilized apartments are going to go way higher and it's become way more unaffordable. The only thing that will stop it is if we build more Apartments. And in order to do that, you have to do rezoning. And every mayor promises they're going to do it and no mayor does it. If Mumdadi comes in, rezones reduces.
Alex
Can you explain what you mean by rezoning?
Andrew Schultz
So there are certain places that are like not zoned to be built in. And this is a long process. You have to get approval from Albany for these. Like they might be zoned for office, they might be zoned for nothing. Nothing at all.
Charlamagne Tha God
Retail. I get what you're saying.
Andrew Schultz
Or there might be certain buildings that like within the neighborhood, there are certain people that go, hey, we don't want a tall building our neighborhood. We like the fact that it's all lower buildings in the neighborhood.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
Well, now you have to fight that very powerful neighborhood alliance.
Charlamagne Tha God
And don't think they're not because that's the same type of people that voted not to have a casino in Times Square.
Andrew Schultz
Exactly.
Charlamagne Tha God
It didn't matter who.
Andrew Schultz
And also, like, I have empathy for those people. It's like they spent probably their whole life savings on a home in this beautiful little brownstone community. And you're going to come in and then for years erect some giant skyscraper that's going to completely train, like change what that neighborhood is like. I also have empathy for them. Right. But it's going to require a mayor who comes in and deregulates, changes the building laws. Because right now, like developers, if they could make money developing, they would develop. Right. But they can't. So you have to change those laws that make it not profitable and you got to let them develop and that will change it. But until a mayor comes in and does that, and hopefully it's Madani, but nothing is going to change with affordability in terms of housing. It's just not.
Charlamagne Tha God
So you're saying that his idea to freeze is not the best idea?
Andrew Schultz
His idea is freeze is not the best idea. I think it's the most catchy. In the same way build a wall is catchy, right? It's like building a wall is not going to stop illegal immigration. You know, it probably will these horrific videos you see with ice, but build a wall sounds better marketing wise than going, hey, we're gonna see, we're gonna have ICE agents do like completely dehumanizing things to people and throw them in the back of cars and kick them out. Like you can't really run on that. But.
Alex
And freezing the rent does help a group of people, a large group of people who are in rent stabilized apartment they know for at Least four years. For one or two years my rent's not going to go up because my salary is not going totally inflation is going.
Andrew Schultz
What I would just say to that.
Alex
Yes. It does also hurt the people that are in the free market.
Andrew Schultz
What I would say to that is like we have freeze the rent before. I think de Blasio did it twice.
Charlamagne Tha God
I know people that are on that shit now.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. So it's like help. Yeah. And I think if it gave them relief but it unfortunately didn't like have a long term solve of the housing crisis. And like that's what I'm again, I'm a knock on wood, like currently like unaffected by these things. So my interest in this is just wanting people to live in an awesome city, the most amazing city in history and be to afford to live here and not have to move back to where they're from. I want people to have that opportunity. Right. So what actually allows that is more apartments.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
This is a band Aid. The freeze is a bandit.
Alex
And I, I just feel little solutions are good even if it's not going to be the main thing that fixes everything.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Alex
If you do a bunch of good little things that's also helpful if they're.
Charlamagne Tha God
Leading to your ultimate goal.
Alex
Exactly.
Andrew Schultz
I also think it like, it, it showcases the sentiment which is like, I want to do something to help you.
Alex
Exactly.
Andrew Schultz
And I think like when people want, want help, that means a lot. Even if it doesn't solve it in the long term. It means a lot when somebody that's in a position of power goes, here's help.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
And I get it. Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God

Charlamagne Tha God
All right, let's do some asking. Idiots. Alex. Alex media. Alex media. Oh man. Higgy30 said, is using the word sassy a low key slur from dropping the F word? It is, it is. It is.
Andrew Schultz
You think?
Charlamagne Tha God
And I didn't realize how much sassy hurt people until this week. We, I did a show, we did a topic on Breakfast Club where we asked people to call in, tell us what's your trigger word. And this guy said he hates when when his girl calls him sassy.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, yeah. No, that's crazy for your girl to call you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schultz
That's crazy.
Alex
His girl thinks he gay.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's my point.
Alex
That's great.
Charlamagne Tha God
Sassy. But even if you not gay, if you doing something that just, it's just sassy. Like sassy is almost like teenage girl. Like not even teenage girl, like a 10 year old. Like you know, being sassy with your parents. You know what I mean?
Andrew Schultz
You know what it is bro?
Charlamagne Tha God
What?
Andrew Schultz
You're calling them gay. Yeah, she's calling him gay.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, I'm not disagreeing with Higgy.30. It is a low key slur from dropping the F word. But you also got to remember what sassy mean. Let's look up the definition.
Andrew Schultz
If your girl is calling you, it.
Charlamagne Tha God
It is. Is. Damn.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, that's crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Depending what era she is, she just gonna call you son.
Andrew Schultz
That is worse.
Charlamagne Tha God
Sassy means lively. Sassy means lively, bold, and full of spirit. Cheeky. Cheeky might be worse than sassy, bro. Don't call me.
Andrew Schultz
Nah.
Alex
If you're from London, you could say cheeky and that's fine.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, don't call me cheeky, bro. Cause that mean you looking at my cheeks, bro. You think? Nah, for real. That's what it feel like. You mean cheeky?
Andrew Schultz
Sassy's crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
So if you got. If you got a fat ass as a man and a guy calls you cheeky, you walk down and speak, yo, cheeky.
Andrew Schultz
They know jaded like that.
Charlamagne Tha God
Do they?
Andrew Schultz
The gay dudes look at straight dudes with a fat ass the same way we look at hot lesbians.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm sure. I'm sure. I got a whole new theory about.
Andrew Schultz
It'S really just a waste. Huh?
Charlamagne Tha God
What you mean their waste?
Andrew Schultz
The hot lesbians or.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, I thought you meant like the guys.
Andrew Schultz
Guys with the fat ass ass. Like you're built with this big old donkey ass, but a guy can't get behind it and throw your head into a dashboard.
Charlamagne Tha God
Girls like to grab the ass too. When they're hitting it, when you're on top of them, they reach back and grab your cheekies. No, you ain't got no ass. That's why you know I got more ass than you. That's not true.
Andrew Schultz
I do have more ass than you. 100. Don't let me get the glutes out.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's not even close, bro.
Andrew Schultz
I don't know, Charlotte, you.
Alex
You might have lost it.
Andrew Schultz
Nah, you don't have.
Charlamagne Tha God
If you want to see it, just say you want to see it. Yeah, you staring right at me.
Andrew Schultz
I want to see you staring right at me.
Charlamagne Tha God
You want to see right at y' all right there.
Andrew Schultz
100. I got fat ass staring right at me.
Charlamagne Tha God
Ain't even close. Come on, bro. Come on, man. And then I got on baggy and my.
Andrew Schultz
Still, look at the excuses.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cheeked up.
Andrew Schultz
You're not feeling.
Alex
You're not feeling it out, bro.
Andrew Schultz
You're really not feeling it out.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm feeling it out, bro. He want to see me twerk. I know what that means. I was trying to get me to do more. You like the guy in the script Club holding a bunch of ones in their hand, like, nah, shorty, now you. You giving me a one head, two head. Nah, I know what this is. Also, I got a whole theory about men, right?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Men should not care if other people. Other men are gay. It should not bother you in any way, shape, or form. But it's not that it bothers them. I feel like any man that is wondering if another man is gay, he wants to know for his own personal benefit. He wants to fuck. It's just like when you see a pretty girl and you like, yo, is she single? You inquiring, don't inquire about my sexuality. You inquiring about my sexuality, that means you might want to fuck me.
Alex
What if he's, like, talking to your girl a little bit too much? Then if you want to know, it's just like, oh, okay, it's fine.
Charlamagne Tha God
Say that again.
Alex
Like, say if a guy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Personal.
Alex
Say if a guy. No, I'm just saying.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay, once.
Andrew Schultz
Once that laugh comes out. I'm just saying you can't have a situation.
Alex
And I would say that would be a situation where you would want to know if a guy's, like, say, talking to your girl too much, and then.
Charlamagne Tha God
You'Re like, oh, oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I see what you say. I thought you meant, like, the guy was talking to his. Your girl inquiring about you.
Alex
No, no.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cause he think you gay. No, that's not so he wanted to know if y' all want to have a threesome. That's not.
Alex
You came up with a whole nother scenario.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cause it sounded so personal, Alex. I was just like, what is a guy asking your girl about you?
Alex
That would be a time where you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Inquire, but they wouldn't ask your girl. They didn't ask Weezy. Weezy told me that before that guys that want to. You look mad sassy when you did that to snap. Why'd you do that?
Alex
Yo, stop.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why'd you do that? He was like, what? You ain't see that? You a see that? No. Weezy told Weezy said that, you know, there be guys that be trying to hit on you. And they always come to her and ask, like, yo, is Alex really? And she be like, no, he's not.
Andrew Schultz
Shut up, Charlotte.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm not making this up.
Alex
Whatever.
Charlamagne Tha God
Weezy never told you this?
Alex
Next question.
Charlamagne Tha God
You want me to call her?
Andrew Schultz
Is that hard to believe?
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, she out the country Anyway, is.
Andrew Schultz
That hard to believe?
Alex
What do you mean?
Andrew Schultz
Like, you have the nail polish, you're fashion forward.
Alex
No, I look good, so I understand.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think that's respectful.
Alex
I can understand it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, that's more respectful than like that coming. Coming to you. You know what I'm saying? Like he not assuming. He's just like, yo, yeah, I'm sure.
Alex
It can happen, but that's not a thing that happens.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schultz
What do you mean it's not a thing that happens? No, he's making it seem like you don't think one gay guy has ever liked you in your life.
Alex
I'm saying that's a thing that could have happened. Maybe one. But he's making it seem like that's a regular.
Andrew Schultz
So if it happened once, you don't think it could happen twice.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, no, you should never assume somebody is gay. You make an ass out of yourself when you assume somebody is gay. When you assume somebody's gay. That mean you want to ask. So you making an ass out of yourself and that mean you want to ask?
Andrew Schultz
Cause assume is ass. You. Me.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what you ask? You me. Ass.
Andrew Schultz
You.
Charlamagne Tha God
Me.
Andrew Schultz
That's what he was trying to say.
Alex
Ass.
Andrew Schultz
You mean. Ooh, that is. That's powerful.
Charlamagne Tha God
I gotta write that one down. Cause I'm saying that at least five more times this week. You got to understand, bro. Fraggle maggot. Ass. You. Me. Finding just new ways.
Andrew Schultz
Gems finding.
Charlamagne Tha God
Say it.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Woo.
Andrew Schultz
All right, what else we got?
Charlamagne Tha God
If laughter burns calories, should comedians be considered personal trainers? Oh, I like this one. Ho. JoJo B. Whatever the what. What do you think about this show?
Andrew Schultz
No, it doesn't burn calories.
Charlamagne Tha God
Laughter doesn't burn calories.
Andrew Schultz
I mean like not enough. Cause fat people are always the most giggly.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's not true. Fat people don't truly find anything funny. Cause they always know that they the joke.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, interesting.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's right. That's right.
Andrew Schultz
So they're fake laughing. Fake laughing doesn't burn calories.
Charlamagne Tha God
Or they become comedians, you know what I'm saying? Are they either become comedians or hardcore rappers? It's the truth. It's the truth. Karlmshun94 says. What's your advice on how you can help your postpartum wife? You just gotta be there for her, my brother. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like there's nothing you can do. It is just a biological thing that happens and you just gotta.
Andrew Schultz
You just gotta wait till it get back to sucking.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shut up.
Andrew Schultz
You gotta suck out your depression. You gotta suck it out.
Charlamagne Tha God
You gotta get it out, and you gotta be there for her when she's going through one way to get rid of depression. No, no, no.
Andrew Schultz
You gotta slurp it out.
Charlamagne Tha God
Be there for your wife.
Andrew Schultz
You gotta slurp it out.
Charlamagne Tha God
Go find somebody that can help you with meal prep. Prep. You know what I'm saying? 100%.
Andrew Schultz
I got a meal.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? You got the smoothie. Get a smoothie in your sister, you're.
Andrew Schultz
Gonna feel so much better.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey, a night nurse. If you can afford these things, you know, get somebody that can.
Andrew Schultz
Luckily, head is free. Luckily, head costs nothing. And it'll make her feel so good and so happy. Spill.
Charlamagne Tha God
Help your postpartum child. Spill as much as you can.
Andrew Schultz
Not for her.
Charlamagne Tha God
You owe her that. No, no, no. LouisB Co says, why do people so easily embrace evil when it's hidden behind a cross and call itself Christian?
Andrew Schultz
God damn, what is that?
Alex
That sounds Percy.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. What evil is Christianity?
Charlamagne Tha God
No. The Christian websites have been posting so much of our content.
Andrew Schultz
No.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes. They be tagging me on Instagram because they swear that I don't believe in God or Jesus. Well, just tell them right now, I 100% believe in God. I think we had a good conversation with Pastor Todd because one of the things I saw go viral was our conversation about, you do have that Muslim.
Andrew Schultz
Guy on your neck.
Charlamagne Tha God
Love him. Love the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. But it was a conversation we. By the way, they believe in Jesus, too. But it was a conversation about.
Andrew Schultz
They be saying that shit.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, they do. They believe.
Andrew Schultz
They believe he existed. He did exist. But they don't believe.
Charlamagne Tha God
Believe what, though?
Alex
They believe he was a prophet.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, but believing someone's a prophet is different than believing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Somebody got mad at me because I said Jesus was a messenger. He was. It says it in the Bible. He was a prophet. He was the son of God.
Andrew Schultz
We hear that a lot where Muslims like. Yeah. We also respect and we believe in Jes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you don't believe Jesus is the one. He is the king. And that is what Christians believe. He is the King of Kings. Jesus don't even believe that, though. Say again?
Charlamagne Tha God
Jesus don't want you to believe that. Jesus don't want you.
Andrew Schultz
All right, here we go. Clip it, Clip it. We're back on. We're back on the Christian blocks.
Charlamagne Tha God
I pull up the scripture.
Andrew Schultz
What do you mean?
Charlamagne Tha God
What do you mean? Jesus is the Lord and Savior.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Alex
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hold on.
Alex
What he just said.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, he didn't.
Andrew Schultz
This is debated amongst Theologians like whether Jesus believed that he was the Son of God, but the Christians believe that he did, and that's the message that he was preaching.
Charlamagne Tha God
Jesus says the most important commandment is this. Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. So this is Jesus affirming the central Jewish belief. There is only one God, no other God beside him. This is eternal life that they know you, the only true God in Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. That's John 17:3. This is what Jesus says. Jesus says the Father is the only true God. Jesus denies having independent divine power. John 5, 30. I can do nothing by myself. He points everything back to the Father's authority. Jesus says God is greater than him. John 14:28. The Father is greater than I. Again, reinforcing God's supremacy. Jesus says to worship and serve God alone. Matthew 4:10. Worship the Lord your God and serve him only. I don't know why that's.
Andrew Schultz
But he is God.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's where it gets confusing.
Andrew Schultz
The Holy Trinity, my boy.
Charlamagne Tha God
I know. I talked to Pastor Todd about it, but even the way I hear a lot of people describe it a lot of different ways, and I, I, it's, I, I, I don't, I don't know, bro. I just believe in God and I believe in Jesus, and I believe in all prophets and messages that have been sent here to get us back to the word of God.
Andrew Schultz
Even, Even the ones after Jesus.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Andrew Schultz
Well, that's an issue. Christians are going to have an issue with that one. With prophets, with after Jesus. Prophets. They believe in the ones before.
Charlamagne Tha God
So let me ask you a question. What do you call, what do you call pastors and stuff now who preach to try to get us back, back to the.
Andrew Schultz
Those aren't prophets.
Charlamagne Tha God
What are they? Messengers.
Andrew Schultz
They're, they're pastors.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know, bro. I, I don't know. What's the prophet?
Andrew Schultz
It's a messenger from God. God is speaking through them.
Charlamagne Tha God
How do we know God ain't Speaking through Bishop T.D. jake? Like, what makes us think, how do we know God didn't speak through Farakhan?
Andrew Schultz
We don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I'm saying. Like what, why, why can't those people be considered prophets?
Andrew Schultz
We don't know. That is the faith. Faith is what we. Faith is not knowing.
Alex
Did the prophets say that God is talking through me right now?
Charlamagne Tha God
It's a good question. Or do they got messages from God? Yeah, they definitely got messages from God. Yeah, they got messages from God. But the one that went viral for Us was. And I shouldn't have said bs I'm not gonna lie. We was having a conversation about. About Jesus, and you was talking about the forgiveness aspect, and I said, that's that B.S. but I wasn't talking about Jesus. I was just talking about the mentality that humans have. Like, we almost have unlimited sins. And that's what I was talking to Pastor Mike Todd about, you know, on the Breakfast Club. Because I feel like if an apology. I feel like if the best apology is change behavior, then the best form of repentance has to be changed behavior as well. So I don't. I don't want to live my life like I can just sin, sin, sin, and pray for forgiveness. I would rather live my life the way Jesus did and strive to be the best version of myself and not sin.
Andrew Schultz
I think that that's an amazing way to live life. And I think that people would say that that's a Christian way to live life.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's all.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
But I. But for whatever reason, people took that and was like, I hope he repents before he goes to hell. I'm like, God damn. Like, I don't know what. I really don't know. The weird part about it is this is what I really was thinking to myself, man, y' all are very brutal on these Christian pages. Aren't y' all supposed to be Christian? And I did leave one comment. Cause I'm like, I like discussions like this. This is a smart discussion. It's about religion. But when I left the comments, there was people in my comments telling me, I'm the worst person ever, I'm going to hell, blah, blah, blah, this and that. You know, I've listened to you for years. You probably shouldn't if you're a Christian.
Andrew Schultz
That's number one.
Charlamagne Tha God
But I'm just like, God, this place is. This is a very judgmental space.
Andrew Schultz
There is a. We had Tim Tebow on flagrants.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, he knew about the show beforehand. Yeah, he's still Christian.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. Yeah. I don't think we converted.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn.
Andrew Schultz
But no, no, we had him on, and he did the most fire shit, man. We were talking about, like, I was bringing up Aaron Hernandez a little bit because, you know, they went to Florida together, and he got, like, a little emotional talking about, like, there's multiple times every week he gets, like, emotional, but. And he starts to kind of defend Aaron. Now. Aaron has done some, like, heinous shit. Okay.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. And he's dead.
Andrew Schultz
And he's dead.
Charlamagne Tha God
God bless the day.
Andrew Schultz
But, like, he's done Some heinous. It's very easy to just be able to make fun of him, point a finger at a bad person, whatever. And, like, Tim, like, saw the humanity in this person, like, what he endured in his life that led him to these up decisions that he made.
Charlamagne Tha God
Absolutely.
Andrew Schultz
And, like, it was the. It was a beautiful moment of, like, what I imagine we would hope to uphold with Christianity, which is like seeing good in someone even though they've done bad. Right, right. And that. And, And. And it was like. And saying that out loud on a podcast, you would get scrutinized. Like, you defending Aaron Hernandez. To a certain extent, he wasn't defending what he did, but he was like, I feel really bad about what he went through that led to this. And I wish I could have done more to help him.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, I don't think it's a defense. I think that I thought it was brave. If you are a person who can see past your own ego, if you're a person who's done any kind of work on themselves, if you're a person that is really spiritual like a Tim Tebow is, you can always see what led a person to do what it is that they've done. Not excusing their behavior. You're not trying to justify their behavior. You're just telling us, I can see how he ended up being that individual. Right. And you do wish you could have intervened. That happened, by the way we act. Like, that doesn't happen all the time to, like, the young criminal. Like, when a young person does something really heinous, people be like, man, I wish I would have intervened. Like, yo, I didn't know that this was happening to him at home. I didn't know he was having issues with his mom or his mom was on drugs. I didn't know he didn't have a father. Growing up. Like, you start going back in a person's life, seeing all the mistakes that they made and wishing you could have intervened.
Andrew Schultz
So, I mean, like, yeah, I don't see the problem. No, there's no problem. I think it's beautiful. It's like, if there is one aspect of Christianity that I wish we could put into the water in America a little bit now, I mean, probably the world, but, like, especially in America, where everybody's so siloed and isolated and, like, we're constantly seeing the most radical version of everyone and dehumanizing them and not trying to get in touch with, you know, the. The better nature of who they are, seeing them as an actual person with feelings, family, Love, compassion. Right. Like, you were talking about the Melissa thing earlier. Like. Like, I think that she's missing some Christianity. Like, she's missing this idea that people are not perfect, and we have to do our best to love them, and we have to do our best to love each other and see humanity and see God in every single person who is a sinner.
Charlamagne Tha God
And if you should do a podcast.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's like, if. If for me, I would go. That would be an amazing thing to insert into the discourse here in America. It'd be amazing thing to insert into every, like, political pundit. It'd be amazing thing to insert if we saw a little bit more humanity in each other. We had a little bit more Christianity in the water. I think that this would be a much more pleasant place to at least disagree with one another.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know, I'm gonna tell you the point that Schultz is making. Huh? What do you say?
Andrew Schultz
That don't get clicked. That don't get clicked. You're right.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think the point Schultz is making is a good point, because it goes back to, like, you know, you can't tell me something about a person I actually know, so. Tim Tebow saw things in Aaron that we never saw. And I'm not that. Don't. Once again, don't excuse anything that Aaron did. He just saw a different. Different version of him that actually existed. Yeah, I don't know if that's the best example, though.
Andrew Schultz
No, it's. It's the most extreme example. And him being able to maintain his faith within the most extreme example was the most impressive to me because it's very easy to do it with, like, a misunderstood pundit or, like, a misunderstood, like, guy from the neighborhood.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schultz
It's different when, you know, it's somebody who has murdered people.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. Because I, like, you know, like, if everything they said about Schultz was. And he was putting on Klan robes that night, I would be genuinely shocked. It would be a genuine shock to me, and everybody would be saying, no, how did you not see it? I'm like, I knew him for real. I thought I knew him.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, right.
Charlamagne Tha God
You wouldn't be shocked, Alex.
Alex
I would be shocked.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'd be shocked. But to everybody else, it wouldn't be.
Andrew Schultz
But I bet you, hopefully not everybody else. Hopefully, it's just people caught up in these algorithms and, like.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, if you found out I was really gay.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Alex
I wouldn't be shocked.
Charlamagne Tha God
All right, man. How do you maintain.
Andrew Schultz
But that is the. That, like, it's, like, when I. I hear the same things about, like, you being like, some super liberal and stuff like that. I'm like, oh, wow. You don't really know Sharla.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. You got a maga hat. I seen him wear it when we're just on the beach killing Nino. Oh, dude, I like this one. Ninoblue underscore says, how do you maintain the amount of relationships you've created throughout your career? By just being a solid person.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? By treating people the way that you want to be treated. Man, I can't talk behind nobody's back. If I got an issue with anybody that I actually genuinely care about, we gonna have a conversation about it. I see too much fake shit that I'm not with. And I'm not with. Please. I promise y'.
Andrew Schultz
All.
Charlamagne Tha God
There's some of y'. All. Y' all have no idea how much y' all on my shit list. And you on my shit list. Cause I always tell Andrew things I say, yo, whenever somebody takes a shot at you, watch who rides with said individual. Yeah. Cause that person was just always waiting on a reason to hate on you. And there's some of you. There's some individuals, man, that I know been hating for a while and I just been watching. Like, I see them leave little comments here or, you know, repost people talking shit about me. And I'm like, like, but this guy's. He's always texting me or this person's always calling me. But then when I. And when I see the person have a conversation with him, they like, oh, I don't even run my Instagram, yo. Like, what this is.
Andrew Schultz
It's so funny when, like, they act shocked, you know, like they're so unaware of their behavior. Or maybe they think that you're unaware, like you're not seeing things.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I think.
Andrew Schultz
Because I see everything. So I think people think that I don't see. And then when I act in kind, they're like, wait, how the hell did this happen? And then I have to remind them that they might have fired a little shot first. They might have showed disloyalty first. Because I'll never be the one to do that.
Charlamagne Tha God
Never.
Andrew Schultz
Everyone, like, there's few stand up people in this business, but I would say that we are standup individuals.
Charlamagne Tha God
Listen, I've had the same friends for years. I promise you, man, if you see a person not around me no more, it's because of some fuck shit that.
Andrew Schultz
You know, they was up to.
Charlamagne Tha God
They was up to. You know what I Mean, and they were playing me, you know what I'm saying? That's it. I love and value my relationships, especially the ones that have been around for a long time. You know what I mean? Cause that shit, you know how much shit we done been through together, bro? Like, I don't care about when you with me, when shit is cool, man, when the fucking storm is coming, you.
Andrew Schultz
Know what I mean?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's when you learn true colors. And there's a lot. But by the way, there's a lot of people that have done that that I never really considered friends anyway. Like, I'm talking about, like, in the industry. Like, not personal shit, but, like, in the industry, there's a couple people I see being fuck motherfuckers. And I'm like, I never really considered them a friend anymore.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, I don't really care about them.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying?
Andrew Schultz
But it's nice to know because it's like, okay, well, I was treating you as a friend and a colleague, even though that we weren't homies. I was like, I thought that we had that. But once I see you act like a friend, I don't really gotta. I don't really have to treat you in that way. I have to defend you. I don't gotta. Somebody wants to talk shit about you, I'm all right. Let it rip.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, listen, I got a person right now who I still love. We had a. It wasn't. I wouldn't even. It was such a minor thing. Like, I mean, when I say it was so small, it was literally just like a miscommunication. While we were actually on the phone, I. I was thinking I was doing something that was helping the individual, but they didn't like how I did it. And all they had to do was tell me I wasn't feeling that cool. But that person took that opportunity to be like, all right, yo, let me get off the phone. Whatever, whatever. I ain't spoke to the person since. But then, since that time, I've seen this individual leave comments, right? Shitting on us and shitting on me. And I'm just like, I love you. Like, and always have loved you.
Andrew Schultz
But clearly love ain't there.
Charlamagne Tha God
Wasn't the same. Cause I would never do that to you. Still to this day, I would never do anything like that.
Andrew Schultz
Some people are only loyal to opportunity.
Charlamagne Tha God
That could be true too. But you would think otherwise when it's 20 plus year relationships. You know what I mean?
Andrew Schultz
Oh, 100%. But sometimes it's like, if they don't see any more opportunity there, that loyalty goes away. And then they could start act in the way again. I don't know. It's like, I got the same friend since I was in high school. You know what I mean? My manager, My first friend in college.
Charlamagne Tha God
Dope.
Andrew Schultz
You know what I mean? Like Jamil. No, Jamil's my first friend in high school. He's doing all our partnerships. You know, Alex and I have started doing this together. Like, so all the people I've carried through my life from, like, my real friends. If I see people in the industry, like, they only kind of really got industry friends, I'm not knocking it immediately, but there's a part of me that goes, oh, maybe all these people are tools for your success.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, that's true. Like, that's true.
Andrew Schultz
And that's okay, too. Like, if you have that type of ambition, you want to go through things like that, that's fine. I would rather build things with the homies. And, like, there's going to be peaks, there's going to be values. We're going to endure all that shit together. But I know in the long run, we're going to. It's the stock market, baby. It's like, you know, knock on wood, we're going up.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think that's the coolest shit in the world. Don't get me wrong. I got, you know, long term friends that I work with and do business with too. But, like, you know, guys like my guy Frosty or like my cousin Kente or like my boy Booby, like, you know, Drel, God bless the dad. But I, like, there's. I wish, like, they could be running around with me every day. You know what I mean?
Andrew Schultz
It's a little different. Like, I happen to be born and raised in a city where people come for their careers.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schultz
You know what I mean? So it's like, if that was Charleston, I'm sure there are a lot of people that you would be building with regularly.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'd be begging to be in New York and not have anybody around me.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? Let's do one more Alex and get up out of here. Ooh, I love this question. Alexa Grin says, revive any celebrity back from the dead. Who would it be and why?
Andrew Schultz
Oof.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, easy. I got too many, man. I can't. I couldn't do one, y'.
Andrew Schultz
All.
Charlamagne Tha God
Who do a top five?
Andrew Schultz
Go Epstein. Right?
Charlamagne Tha God
Revive any. He wasn't a celebrity. Revive any celebrity back from the dead. Who would it be? And why revive any celebrity back from the dead? Who would it be and why? He's saying celebrity.
Andrew Schultz
So I'm thinking, is it not politicians, not world leaders, celebrities. It's not. Not religious figures. These are people in entertainment.
Charlamagne Tha God
Celebrity. Nipsey Hussle. Cause he was a good, great brother when he was alive. I would always say he's a rapper that people can look up to, literally and figuratively, because he was so tall. But sometimes you get to see what a person represented when they die, because we like to give people flowers when they're gone. But he didn't necessarily get that the way he should have when he was alive. But I just think he would do so much for us as a culture right now if he was here. So, Nipsey Hussle. Selfishly, the Notorious B.I.G. just because those first two albums were so good. Ready to Die and Life After Death, that double album was so good, and all his features and stuff was so good. His short rap career was so good. I just wanted to see how he would evolve. Like, we saw how Diddy. I mean, not Diddy. How Biggie evolved. I mean, not Biggie. How Hov Evolved.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
With the music. I just want to see what Biggie's fourth, fifth album would sound like. We didn't get a blueprint from Biggie.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Imagine what Biggie's like, magnum opus would have sounded like. That one. That album that defines him. Like, I don't feel, like, ready. I mean, ready to die in Life After Death to find him. Because he's no longer here. But if he would have stayed alive. Whoa. So Nipsey. Biggie. Biggie. Joan Rivers. Yo. Joan Rivers. Cause Joan Rivers did not give a fuck. Can you imagine what the Joan Rivers Podcast would sound like? Oh, my God. Can you imagine what the Joan Rivers Podcast would sound like?
Andrew Schultz
Yeah. That's a wild girl.
Charlamagne Tha God
George Carlin. Because I know we're not supposed to use the word property. A lot of things George Carlin said back then that absolutely came true. So I would love to see what he sees for the future now. Sure. And my fifth. Who would my fifth be? Oh, this is tough. My fifth would probably be Tupac. And it would be Tupac for the same exact reason as a Nipsey. Because everybody has these conversations about what Tupac would have evolved into. Not even just on some entertainment thing, just what he would have evolved into as a person in life. I would have loved to see that.
Andrew Schultz
That's a good list, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
Everybody dead. He already told you about the Bolt shit. He said anything. What what, who, who is.
Andrew Schultz
Don't, don't do that. No. Who I want alive. Patrice o', Neal, greatest comic ever. That would be awesome. Especially during like censorship time. Especially just all of it would just be absolutely fantastic. Just celebrities, entertainers. I'm trying to think like who's some of the died young that you're like man, we didn't get enough of that.
Alex
Kobe.
Andrew Schultz
Oh, is that a celebrity or is that okay? Yeah, yeah, Kobe for sure. Kobe, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cuz that was so tragic, right? Like nah, bring him in. Gigi back.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Kobe would be fantastic.
Alex
Michael Jackson. I wanted to see what he was gonna do that last tour run.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what's so crazy? I know this gonna sound really crazy. I'm glad that they doing the Michael Jackson biopic. They used to give Michael so much hell. I don't feel like they deserved Michael. Michael used to get so much hell while he was here and while he was alive. Yo.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't think that this, this, this dimension deserved Michael Jackson, yo. I really don't. The way they picked him apart, you know, like this guy, he probably hadn't, he probably had no peace. He probably didn't get peace until after he transitioned.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like I don't know if I would do that to Michael like you.
Alex
I feel like in today's era we would have dug a little bit more into what they were accusing him of.
Charlamagne Tha God
And I think no, they would have destroyed Michael either.
Alex
I think the people who were trying to destroy him were the record labels and the powers that be.
Charlamagne Tha God
By the way, I don't disagree with you. I, I, I, I don't, I say that all the time. I, when you have these conversations about oh, he was trying to buy NBC block. Michael Jackson is the only celebrity. I really truly believe they conspiracies around. Yes.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
They wanted to get him out of here for a number of reasons. A lot of it had to do with that publishing that he owned. Like I, yeah, Michael's the only one that I'm really like. Yeah, they had a very valid reason and I would have to try to get him out of here.
Alex
Liked for all that to, to be clear before while he was still alive. And I think people would have dug deep and found that.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think Michael gonna be, I mean to me he's already been like very redeemed in death. I think we really know that a lot of, most of those, all of those accusations against him was some bullshit. The dude got investigated by the FBI for 17 years.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Alex
But some people still believe it.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't believe any of it.
Andrew Schultz
I think that the rumors are still around, but they have less sting.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schultz
So, like, I think in depth. Sometimes the focus is just on the music and how the music made us feel. Like in death. Sometimes the focus is on the art.
Charlamagne Tha God
He's got a biopic coming out. They got MJ on Broadway.
Andrew Schultz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Ain't nobody out there protesting that shit, so. And when this biopic drop, I don't want to see none of y' all fake woke. People get online and try to stir up no shit. Cause I'll be the first person saying, suck my dick. And I'mma go suck my dick. He.
Andrew Schultz
He.
Charlamagne Tha God
After I do it. Okay. Fuck you. Beat it. As always. Ooh, I ain't even trying that shit. Did it. That's hard. As always. As always.
Andrew Schultz
Chosen one.
Charlamagne Tha God
As always. If you listen to this podcast, you think we're smart, you think we're intelligent, you think we're brilliant. You're absolutely right. But if you think we're just a couple idiots who don't know shit, you're right, too. It's the Brand Idiots podcast. Thank you for listening.
Andrew Schultz
Peace.

Release Date: November 14, 2025
Hosts: Charlamagne Tha God & Andrew Schulz
This week, Charlamagne and Schultz return with another energetic, unfiltered deep-dive into the complex, messy, and hilarious realities of contemporary politics, media influence, social issues, and personal reflections. The episode, true to Brilliant Idiots’ style, swings from biting social commentary to unfiltered personal admissions, all while maintaining a comedic undertone.
Major topics include the strain of political differences on personal relationships, the recent government shutdown and its fallout, the tangled web of health care subsidies and lobbying, new Epstein developments and media manipulation, U.S. military actions abroad, and the nature of transparency and hypocrisy in American political discourse. True to form, the pair also riff on college visits, the power of cookies, billionaire ethics, relationships, and an absurd but oddly thoughtful analysis of celebrity influence.
