Charlamagne Tha God
Yep. Charlemagne the guy.
Andrew Schulz
Andrew Schull, you are the brewery idiot. Hung out with my. My family bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
In New York City.
Andrew Schulz
No, out in the Hamptons.
Charlamagne Tha God
Out in the Hamptons.
Andrew Schulz
And it was just lovely. And like, I'm experiencing a weird. It's not even weird. I don't even know why I think it's weird to even say it, but I like, I. There's these amazing events that are happening that I recognize are amazing cultural events. And when my friends are at them and texting me, like, I am excited for them, but I don't feel the FOMO of it because I'm where I want to be.
Charlamagne Tha God
Welcome to fatherhood, my boy.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Welcome to fatherhood. I'm with you 100%.
Andrew Schulz
But I also think it's connected with the fact that, like, I got to go away for 10 days to shoot this movie. I'm not going to see them. I got to come into the city for a few days and do pods. I'm not going to see it. So I already know my time is more limited with them than most. So I'm like to leave them to go see us, you know, World cup match or like a concert. I gotta love that thing.
Charlamagne Tha God
I love it. That's what you, by the way. That's where you're supposed to be.
Andrew Schulz
I feel very grateful that I'm experiencing this.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's right.
Andrew Schulz
Beautiful thing.
Alex
I feel.
Andrew Schulz
I mean, I'm FaceTiming my daughter and she's in the car, she's like, will you come home, dad?
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn, damn, damn, damn. That should've make you shut the whole movie down.
Andrew Schulz
The whole thing.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? Like, all this shit. Yo, I'll fly them out tomorrow. Come out Here tomorrow. I need y' all out here tomorrow, bro.
Andrew Schulz
I know. Nah, they came with me the first time because it was a couple weeks, and now it's like, do they just come all the time? I don't fucking know.
Charlamagne Tha God
My kids don't like me to go nowhere.
Andrew Schulz
That's beautiful.
Charlamagne Tha God
Every time before I leave, like, why are you going? Where you got to go in the city for? Like, somebody got to pay for this shit.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying?
Andrew Schulz
That's the balance.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
And then they find out you made 200 million. They're like, why? You can.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know. I don't know what you're talking about.
Andrew Schulz
They're like, you could pay for it already.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know what you're talking about, but that's why. That's why. Retirement is not an age. It's an income.
Andrew Schulz
That is true.
Charlamagne Tha God
And you should not let anything consume your life so much that you just feel like you have to keep doing it, keep doing it, keep doing it, just because that's what you're used to doing.
Taylor
Amen.
Charlamagne Tha God
You should be able to get to a certain point that if you feel comfortable and financially, you know, that you can mind your business and sit back. Mind your business. Sit back. And I'd much rather be a family man all day long. Yeah. Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Or you choose to do the things that you want.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's it. I've been there. I promise you. I've been there for at least close to a decade now, probably. Probably. No, I say about. From 2019 to now.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, no, no. I'm lying. After Covid. After Covid, I'm like, I'm not doing nothing I don't want to do.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cause I don't have to. Like, I'm not. Like, I'm not. I'm not money hungry like that. Cause, you know, we make a lot of money just doing extracurricular shit. Like, you can be like, yo, go host this here or go show up here or go up here on this show. It's like, nah, I'm cool. They're like, nah, I'm cool. I don't want to host a game show. I don't. Yeah. You know what I'm saying, bro?
Andrew Schulz
I do.
Alex
I get it.
Andrew Schulz
I mean, yeah, it is crazy when you get thrown opportunities, but also, it's. That is what you're. I don't know. That is what you're supposed to do. Sometimes I see people who are, like, almost professional celebrities, like, they're at the opening of everything.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, yeah. As I experience and I'm early with my family, don't get me wrong. Like, I imagine when your kids start getting into like their late teens, they don't even want to hang out with you. They got birthdays with their friends and things that they're doing. They're going to camp and they're going on a trip or whatever. Maybe you have a little bit more free time to go to these different things. But every single person that's had kids I've spoken to has told me about these young stages.
Charlamagne Tha God
And every one of them goes by like that, says that.
Andrew Schulz
And they're like, oh, what I would do to be back in that stage.
Charlamagne Tha God
It goes by like that.
Andrew Schulz
And they're not sleeping and ever. And you don't get to sleep and you're exhausted the whole time. And I get it. But that shit resonates with me every single time an older person sees me with my young kid. They have the exact same, oh, it goes by fast. What I would do to have them at that age again.
Charlamagne Tha God
And it's wild. Cause I got both dynamics at the house, right? I got like the whole dynamic. I got.
Andrew Schulz
You got leaving the house.
Charlamagne Tha God
10, 7, 4. That's right. Got leaving the house and then got. The youngest is 4 years old. And you're looking at the 4 year old and you remember when the 18 year old used to be that. But now you're trying to figure out why does the 4 year old sound like the 18 year old?
Andrew Schulz
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
What the hell is going on in the world? These kids are so goddamn advanced. And the 4 year old and the 18 year old are like super close. It's the wildest shit in the world, yo, that to see that. Cause when I tell you it goes by like that, it goes by like that.
Andrew Schulz
And I get caught up in these Instagram scrolls. Like I hit one emotional video and then if you keep on scrolling it like suggest you know what I'm talking about. And it's all parenting shit. I was watching some like clip from a Korean zombie movie and the dad was trying to save his wife and daughter and then got bit. And he leaves the train and locks them in the train and the daughter's crying.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, that's what that was.
Andrew Schulz
You seen that one?
Charlamagne Tha God
Seen that? I don't know what the was going on.
Andrew Schulz
I'm cr. So he's outside the train and as he's turning into a zombie, his I'll get emotional. Talk about, you know, it's like he's dying, like the zombie, whatever. But like, lives, but, like, he's dying and the last moments he has. Right.
Charlamagne Tha God
I saw that shit. I didn't know what it was.
Andrew Schulz
Seeing his daughter for the first time, having his daughter's little hand grab his. And as he's turning into the zombie, it's so beautifully done. He's smiling like he's at peace with his life. And I didn't know what that was
Charlamagne Tha God
because I was going to send that to Chris. Because I always find, like, Asian videos to send him. I do all the time. But I didn't. I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, man. I got like. Yeah, they just. You get one after another.
Taylor
Like, I saw one. Not like that, but it was a woman, like this. This stalker person was, like, trying to get the child. And instead the mom took her life for the child. But the mom comes back and you just like. It was a horror movie where you had to hold up a phone and then you see ghost or something like that.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Taylor
So the dad.
Charlamagne Tha God
Pokemon.
Taylor
No.
Charlamagne Tha God
Remember how the Pokemon shit used to be? You have to hold up the phone, you see Pokemon all throughout the room.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, the Pokemon Go.
Taylor
I guess. But, I mean, that's how the. The movie was. And, like, the dad sees his son at night, like, twirling around and nothing's holding him up. And then he holds.
Charlamagne Tha God
So a gay ghost. What if the ghost. It was a gay ghost.
Taylor
No, listen, get emotional.
Andrew Schulz
I know. Don't try to get emotional, man. This guy is a roadblock. He's a speed bump. Every time you're about to get into a crying situation, he gonna be there, Boom, boom, and fuck your whole shit up. Don't even try to let me finish.
Taylor
Rocking.
Andrew Schulz
Can I be honest with you? I got no fucking clue what you're saying right now. Zero clue.
Taylor
Basically, in the movie, they had to hold up a phone to see the ghost, right?
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Taylor
So the ghost is trying to take the child. The mom took her life instead, like, because the ghost, I guess, was lonelier. It was some dumb shit. But so then the dad one night sees. The mom's gone already, Right? So one night, the dad sees his son just twirling around. Nothing's holding him. And then he puts the phone up and he sees his. It was the mom, like, playing with him. Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, shit. Damn. So the mom was dead?
Andrew Schulz
Yes.
Taylor
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
And then that was her playing with the kid.
Charlamagne Tha God
God damn. You had to lead with that, Taylor.
Andrew Schulz
She did.
Charlamagne Tha God
She did it.
Andrew Schulz
She did. It's all good. I know, I know. You stopped paying attention. This guy Stopped paying attention to me. You can see when he glazes over.
Alex
I do.
Andrew Schulz
Bro, you are actually one of the best.
Charlamagne Tha God
Can I give you a compliment?
Andrew Schulz
You one of the best at making direct eye contact with somebody and not
Charlamagne Tha God
hearing a lot of people not listening
Andrew Schulz
to a single thing they say.
Taylor
He does it all the time.
Andrew Schulz
Not a single. And he'll even do facial expressions. He'll be like this. Like, I could see him stop paying attention, and he'll be like, man.
Taylor
Oh.
Andrew Schulz
And you can see his hand reaching for his phone. Like, his. The fact he doesn't have a phone in his hand is burning him.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, what the fuck is this person saying right now? Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Cause you never listen.
Taylor
You know what?
Andrew Schulz
I'm.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm listening. I'm listening. You buried the lido. I didn't hear you say the mom was dead. I heard you say that the ghost was gay and the ghost are gay. Somebody's son was gay and was twirling around his room and he could only see his dick through his phone.
Taylor
I literally was just having this conversation about how cancers literally do this. Like, you have an issue.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, what do we do but be great?
Taylor
No, y' all got issues.
Charlamagne Tha God
Your future husband is a cancer.
Taylor
I know, and I tell him the same thing.
Andrew Schulz
Shout out to Big P. Oh, I got scared for a second.
Alex
I know.
Charlamagne Tha God
That was crazy.
Andrew Schulz
I thought you were getting broken up with.
Taylor
No, no.
Charlamagne Tha God
Big P is a cancer, man. Oh, and your son's a cancer, too, right? Yes, that's right.
Taylor
My mom's a cancer.
Charlamagne Tha God
I cannot see Little P, Mama G. All cancers, baby. Let's go.
Andrew Schulz
You have all cancers in your life.
Charlamagne Tha God
Unfortunately, she needs that. No, she don't have.
Taylor
No, no. Y' all need me. Empathy. Because y' all need balance. No, y' all need balance. Y' all are.
Charlamagne Tha God
Takes one to no one. No, no, no, no, no. Takes one to no one. No. Taylor really has no empathy.
Andrew Schulz
Okay, you don't have any empathy.
Taylor
What do we talk about?
Charlamagne Tha God
We don't have. I seen Taylor walk up to one of Diddy's potential.
Taylor
Oh, my God. Get over it.
Charlamagne Tha God
When we. When Breakfast Club used to be on Remot, one of Diddy's potential victims, a man wasn't anybody.
Andrew Schulz
A potential victim of Diddy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, a potential victim of Diddy, okay, Who was a man, was just minding his business, you know, clearly on his Instagram, he was having a good night out with Sean Combs having a ball. And this girl right here walks in the room, walks up to him and goes, so how did it taste? Homie goes, how did what taste? And she goes, how did it taste? He goes, what? What you mean, what? How did it taste? What are you talking about? Taylor goes, diddy's dick.
Taylor
He didn't deny it, though.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's he crazy.
Taylor
He never denied it.
Charlamagne Tha God
What is something that happened to him? Nah, we don't know.
Andrew Schulz
Imagine accident. That's sexual victim. Yeah, that's from stage Caleb.
Taylor
First of all.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I'm saying.
Taylor
Let's be clear.
Charlamagne Tha God
Imagine me doing that. Imagine me doing that to a woman.
Taylor
Let's be very clear.
Andrew Schulz
Unbelievably entertaining. Turns out. Turns out it's gonna make you worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Keep it up, Taylor.
Taylor
Keep it up. Let's be very clear. The person that we're talking about, he still supported.
Andrew Schulz
This guy's crazy.
Taylor
I know.
Andrew Schulz
Imagine me saying wild shit to people. Imagine me charlamagne.
Charlamagne Tha God
People say wild. Imagine me saying that specifically to a man. Obey with me. Hilarious. The man. You should get that.
Andrew Schulz
That's what I'm saying.
Charlamagne Tha God
I know, but that was just crazy.
Andrew Schulz
That's what we do.
Charlamagne Tha God
I had to say. Taylor, come on, let's leave. Come on, Taylor.
Taylor
He also. I sent you a really nice message on your birthday. Don't act like I'm not empathetic. You're ridiculous. You're ridiculous.
Charlamagne Tha God
You sent me a message on my birthday. You only said that cause you used to being surrounded by Cancers.
Taylor
What?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's all. So now that you surrounded by cancers. Now that you're surrounded by cancers, you know what we need. That's all. She would've never sent that before. That's all. That's all. That is. Like, she's used to being around Cancers. Now she know that we need.
Taylor
But that's a good thing. That's a good thing, though.
Charlamagne Tha God
That is good. It's good. They giving you empathy. Round of applause to the Cancers in your life.
Taylor
First of all, it's not y'.
Charlamagne Tha God
All.
Taylor
The Cancers didn't give me that. It's been me.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, it is. I've known you for a long time. Yo, I known you when you was a thug, okay?
Taylor
No more.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, you're not a thug no more. You're a mommy. Yeah, okay, big mama.
Taylor
My baby's gonna be one this.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, legend. God bless.
Andrew Schulz
Isn't it crazy?
Taylor
That makes me so sad.
Andrew Schulz
No, motherhood.
Charlamagne Tha God
Motherhood hasn't changed Taylor, though, because Taylor was high off shrooms at the concert.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, no.
Charlamagne Tha God
She picked the craziest night to be high offs room.
Andrew Schulz
Did you really have a paragraph I
Taylor
thought that it was about to be a setup. Like, I was just looking at all the people in the stadium, and I was like, if people start rioting, like, I need to get home to my son. Like, I was getting very, very, like, anxious.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know? What's so crazy? I was so on a high from the weekend, and it was such a weekend filled with joy that I never thought that.
Andrew Schulz
Never thought what?
Charlamagne Tha God
I never thought about it being a riot or anything.
Taylor
You said that you were there. I was like, okay, if Charlemagne's not freaking out, then I'm literally on Sunday,
Charlamagne Tha God
because I. I don't know how you know.
Andrew Schulz
Let me just tell you something. Charlamagne almost started a crazy rumor. Charlamagne without even knowing. He almost started a crazy. Wow, okay?
Charlamagne Tha God
Because every everybody that saw me Sunday.
Andrew Schulz
No, no, no, no, no. Don't bear the lead. He almost started crazy without even realizing, right?
Charlamagne Tha God
It's hours.
Andrew Schulz
Dove is at the concert, too. It's hours where the shit hasn't started. People start texting me because they think I'm there, and they're like, yo, when is it going to start? You hearing anything? Dove texts me. He goes, yo, Charlamagne said, Dame Dash called in a bomb threat.
Taylor
Wait.
Andrew Schulz
Wait for it. Wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, wait for it, right? I go, oh, my boy. Eagle wit comedian, hilarious. Texts me. He goes, yo, are you. You know what's going on here? What the hell is happening? And I almost texted him, and then I go, you know what? Let me hit Charlotte to see what's up. I hit Sharla. I go, yo, what the hell is causing this?
Charlamagne Tha God
Is there a problem?
Andrew Schulz
They can shut it down. He goes. He goes. He says, verbatim, nah. Dame Dogs called. Dame Dad's called in a bomb threat. I said, I guess it's real, right? And then I literally type it in to the text, the eagle. I type it in. Once he. Let me tell you something. Once it goes to Eagle, oh, man. The whole world thinks Dame Dash goes to the pop star, okay? Once he goes out there, I'm telling you, because he's gonna text everybody else who's there, et cetera. I do one callback.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, man.
Andrew Schulz
I do one callback to Sharla. I send one more text back to Sharla, which we will not say on this pod. Which we will not say. You remember what I said back to you?
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't remember who was opening. Hold on, let me look, let me look, let me look, let me look, let me look, let me look.
Alex
You guys are crazy, bro.
Taylor
I heard more than one person say that.
Andrew Schulz
So I do. So I send one funny text back to him. Send one funny text back to him. Oh, my God. And then I go, nah, but seriously, did Dame call it a bomb threat? And then Charlotte just laughs at what I said, which I interpret as not real. I don't send it out to Eagle and everybody else that's messaging me.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what's so crazy?
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
I first told that joke when we was online, right? Online.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, going into.
Charlamagne Tha God
Going in.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. Right. So everybody's laughing after a while. After. After I said it to a couple more people.
Taylor
Yeah. People were.
Charlamagne Tha God
People were believing.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, so you.
Taylor
That's how you act so surprised.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's how crazy. Why are you acting that they think he would really do that shit. And I'm like, bro, I'm joking. And they was like, nah, I can see him doing some shit. Like, I'm like, oh, my God. Which made me not even want to say it no more.
Andrew Schulz
But then you did say it immediately to as many people that ask you.
Taylor
Exactly.
Charlamagne Tha God
I couldn't help it. It took me back to when I was in, like, back 20 something years old and before the Internet and before social media, growing up in a small town. And you would say a rumor about somebody that was hilarious, but it sounded true, and everybody would run with it.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, my God.
Andrew Schulz
I heard a lot of good ones.
Taylor
First of all, it's.
Charlamagne Tha God
And you know, it's good when you get. When it comes back to you. So you be somewhere and you be like, yo, did you hear that such and such. This happened to suddenly, like, no, for real. Who told you that shit?
Taylor
Look how happy he gets. Like, oh, my gosh.
Andrew Schulz
Listen, this guy's crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Let me tell you something.
Alex
He really is. He really is.
Andrew Schulz
This guy's really crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
We're taping this on a Wednesday. Yeah, we went to a con. The last concert we went to was on Monday. Okay. Yeah. Right.
Andrew Schulz
Technically, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
There's nothing like real life events.
Alex
Yep.
Andrew Schulz
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
And I know that, you know, everybody says real life events are coming back. I'm here to tell y' all that real life events never went anywhere. No, I just think that people now are appreciating those real life events and that real connection more than ever. Cause the dopamine hit that I felt all weekend, like, I'm still on a high from the weekend. Mind you, I had no plans to go all weekend.
Andrew Schulz
So you went Friday.
Charlamagne Tha God
Friday was the night. Friday. I had a plan to go on. I'm like, yo, I got my. We got a suite for Friday night. We'll be in the suite. Got my folks in the suite. You know, we gonna have a good time. I wanted to see Reasonable Doubt. I'm like, yo, Reasonable Doubt, that's hov's first album. That's the album that laid the foundation for everything. I just knew he was gonna pour his all into that show, right? I couldn't wait to see it. But the high I got Friday night.
Andrew Schulz
But it wasn't just Reasonable Doubt. He played other stuff too.
Charlamagne Tha God
He did it the right way. Because one thing that he realized is that, damn, she did that shit like we in fucking jail. Like, she did. Like, like who? That was crazy. What the fuck was that just now? But I went on Friday because I wanted to hear Reasonable Doubt. But the way Jay did his set, he knew that Reasonable Doubt was for the core fans. He's fully aware Reasonable Doubt is an album that sold 40 something thousand the first week. He's fully aware that Reasonable Doubt was for the hip hop heads. Because it's not like that crowd was singing every word to those songs. But the show was so well put together, the show was so cinematic that it was like watching a movie. It was like watching a story. I liken it to. This is like when the bad guy actually wins at the ends of the end of the movie. Doesn't get caught up, doesn't get locked up, doesn't die, and then lives enough, lives long enough to even change his life. But he's just showing you his origin story. And this shit was just exciting to watch. But in between those Reasonable Doubt songs, he would do something that was a little bit more palatable to the mainstream audience, I guess, or just something people knew. So it just kept you engaged the whole fucking time. But I had such a high from Friday night down. I was like, damn. That was, you know, I'm good, I'm good. I'm not, you know, somebody just asked me, are you coming tomorrow? I'm like, nah, I'm not coming tomorrow. No, you're coming tomorrow. You're going to be here tomorrow.
Andrew Schulz
Who said that?
Charlamagne Tha God
You work for us. You will be, right? Okay. My direct supervisor.
Andrew Schulz
Your direct supervisor at Roc Nation said, you have to be there.
Charlamagne Tha God
Delphin Grave said, you have to be there.
Andrew Schulz
Company outing.
Charlamagne Tha God
You have to be here tomorrow. And I wanted to be there for Saturday anyway. Cause it was the blueprint. See, I like when artists do specific albums. I like when they say, hey, we're gonna do one night of this album. I went to go see Jill Scott at the Hollywood Bowl.
Andrew Schulz
I didn't realize it was like that. I thought the whole weakness.
Alex
No.
Andrew Schulz
So the first night was Reasonable Doubt. Second night was Blueprint.
Charlamagne Tha God
Blueprint.
Andrew Schulz
Third night was compilation of everything.
Charlamagne Tha God
Third night was Extra Innocent. It was just a little bit of everything. So I was like, you know what? I do wanna go see the Blueprint. Cause I love Reasonable Doubt, but I actually like Blueprint better. And it just makes. It's like Reasonable Doubt is his first album, the one that laid the foundation. But Blueprint is arguably his best album. Even though now I love four four, four. But I'm like, yo, all right, I'm gonna go see the Blueprint. That night was amazing too. But the Blueprint night was just all about the music. But I do have one critique of the Blueprint night, the Reasonable Doubt night. We know the story of Reasonable Doubt. After seeing it Friday, do you feel like you know the story of Reasonable Doubt album? Yeah, we still don't know the story of the Blueprint.
Alex
Why not?
Charlamagne Tha God
Because the backdrop of the blueprint, the thing that overshadows the blueprint, is 9 11. Cause it dropped on September 11, 2001. So when HOV starts the show, which, by the way, I don't even know if about if. I'm sure people caught it, but the show started on Saturday at exactly 9 11.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, wow.
Charlamagne Tha God
By the time he got. By the time he was doing the World Trade freestyle, he's like, I dropped the same days as the World trade. It was 9:11pm so the whole backdrop of the blueprint is 9, 11. And Ho even said on stage about how this album brought a lot of healing to people and it was kind of like an escape. But we know that's not why he made that album.
Taylor
Of course.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. So when somebody gets five mics in the source, at the time when mics actually meant something and at the time when you know you hear this album, you was like, yo, this is probably hov's best work. And we still look at it as this might be hov's best work. I want to know what the story was especially. They said it took him a. Don't. They said a week or two to record the fucking Blueprint.
Alex
Really?
Charlamagne Tha God
And you got songs on there like Takeover, right? So think about where his mindset was.
Andrew Schulz
Did he play that?
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, he played the instrumental, but he didn't do the song. But you got songs on there like Takeover. You got songs on there like Ain't no Love in the Heart of the City, where he's Addressing a bunch of critics. You got songs like Renegade where he's addressing a bunch of critics. Like, what was going on in his mind during that time that he said, I'm gonna record arguably my best body work. You don't know is on that album. Like, song Cry is on that album. Never changed on that. He talking filthy. The rule is back. He talking filthy on Blueprint. I want to know what his mindset was. What's the story behind that actual album? I thought I was going to get that Saturday. I didn't necessarily get that. I got the overarching theme is always 9 11, but we know that's not what that album was about, but went to that. And I'm like, all right, boom. I want to highlight. It's like, no, you're coming back on Sunday. You're coming back on Sunday because this is history, okay? And you don't know if this is ever gonna happen again. Like, you know what? You're right. I'm gonna be there. So I come back Sunday, and I wanna see how he stick to Landon. And everybody's saying Sunday was the best show. Not to me, but people are saying Sunday was the best show, I think. So you thought Sunday was the best show?
Alex
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why?
Alex
Cause it just. It had everything. And all the people he brought out, it was just like. There were a couple of verses on Reasonable Doubt that I didn't remember Sunday. I knew every song, word for word, everything. Like, it was just phenomenal.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. For me, if I had to rank the shows, I got two different perspectives, right? I rank the show and my experience. And I think that's what we do when we go to concerts. You rank the actual production, but then you rank your experience. And this is different. Cause I never thought I'd be going to a concert three nights in a row. I've never done this in my life. At 48. I'm not built for this shit. I'm letting you know that I love your post. My lower back has been hurting all motherfucking week from wearing a Tim's.
Andrew Schulz
That's.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know why I wore them again today. I'm just bugging the fuck up. I'm just bugging the fuck. I'm not built for that. I couldn't imagine sitting on that floor three days in a row in Timberland. Especially on Sunday. I had to do this Sunday. I don't know if I wore Tim. I did wear Tim Sunday, but what the fuck was I talking about?
Alex
Oh, the difference between the show and your experience.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, Experience and Production for me, if I had to rank it production wise, it goes 1, 2, 3.
Andrew Schulz
To me, 1, the best production was 1.
Charlamagne Tha God
Reasonable doubt was the best show production wise to me. Two was blueprint, three was the extra innings night. But if I had to rank it by experience, one is reasonable doubt, two is extra innings, three is the blueprint. Because like I said, I was in a sweet Friday and Saturday, which I was happy to be. Cause I could actually watch the production. Just sitting back observing, watching the production. But I wanted to be on the floor Sunday night. Cause I wanted to feel that energy from the people. That's a completely different experience when you on that floor with the people. You know what I'm saying? When you can.
Andrew Schulz
Did you feel safe there? You don't like crowds.
Charlamagne Tha God
You get that was the thing. It didn't feel like everybody's there for. That's a great question, Andrew. Everybody's there for the same thing.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
So it's like the same energy. Everybody for one night only is on the same type of energy. It's like going to a football game and all of y' all rooting for the same team.
Andrew Schulz
That like the tickets were too expensive for you to feel concerned.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay, think about it like this. You're right. But think about the people. Think about the people.
Alex
Not really though.
Charlamagne Tha God
Think about the people who bum rushed into the show.
Andrew Schulz
No, I know. I'm just. I'm.
Charlamagne Tha God
And that's why what they did on Sunday made all the sense in the world. I know people was afraid the delay or they were mad about the delay.
Taylor
They were fighting though, in there.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, but they would like they. You didn't even notice.
Taylor
But they were running next to me. We had to stop it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Get better next time. But if you get. If you, if you get the baby
Andrew Schulz
as you in the bleachers.
Taylor
No, I. I mean, I was just one row from the ground.
Andrew Schulz
Okay.
Charlamagne Tha God
Kayla mad at me cuz I didn't want her in the suite with me.
Andrew Schulz
Why not?
Charlamagne Tha God
Cuz she don't know nothing about Jay Z.
Taylor
But yet I'm not empathetic. Look at him.
Charlamagne Tha God
She texted me, but I was honest. She texted me and was like, y' all want to come to the Jay Z show? And I rolled my eyes. I said, do you even like Jay Z?
Taylor
I said, I'm not a fan like you, but I. I admire. I respect him.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, that's not what she said. She said the hype got her all the marketing. She said that.
Taylor
Read the message.
Andrew Schulz
All the marketing and all the things
Charlamagne Tha God
around it got her wanting to go. That was her exact word.
Taylor
Is that a good thing? Why are you getting mad at me about that?
Alex
You need to be surrounded by yes, man. Real energy. It's different. It's different.
Taylor
We're all surrounded by just that. So let's be very clear about that.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's like watching.
Taylor
It's like, why.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's literally like watching sports with women that don't know sports.
Taylor
Yeah, that's not true, though.
Charlamagne Tha God
Watching basketball.
Taylor
I knew his song, and I didn't
Charlamagne Tha God
even know that the guy goes to the bath, you go to the free throw line like, yo, is that a field goal?
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Taylor
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Is that a. That's nice. That's a difference.
Taylor
You just wanted to rap with everybody.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, that's.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's exactly what the.
Andrew Schulz
I wanted to point it to a concert.
Charlamagne Tha God
I wanted to look around, be like, while I'm watching every. Watching me coast playing. My bread is water for them. They want a toast, man. Yes, yes, yes.
Taylor
But you had enough people to do that.
Charlamagne Tha God
I keep my head. Both of them where they supposed to be.
Taylor
But you have enough people to do
Alex
that, though, Taylor, you understand, because three. I'm surrounded by strangers, and by the end of the night, I'm best friends with three people because we rapping every single song, dapping each other up, going crazy. Our girls are just, like, a little bit bored on their phones and like that.
Andrew Schulz
No, it's not great.
Charlamagne Tha God
Any male joy
Andrew Schulz
is gay. Male joy is gay. They don't want us to be happy.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's why gay means happy right there. Whoever made gay made it because they know it meant happy. Any male joy, they want to call you, right?
Andrew Schulz
Listen, you're 100% right.
Charlamagne Tha God
And what Alex is saying is so true, because think about this, right? People bum rushed the door, so people got in that wasn't supposed to. They got to shut everything down. They got to make sure everything good. They got to make sure ain't no bombs, ain't there no guns, whatever, whatever. Because that could be a bad situation.
Andrew Schulz
They got five each of those people.
Charlamagne Tha God
But think about this. Even the people that probably got in, that they couldn't find, they wasn't in there for no trouble. They just wanted to hear motherfucking heart of the city, man.
Andrew Schulz
I don't know if we know that.
Charlamagne Tha God
They just wanted to hear H to the Izzo.
Andrew Schulz
You can hear it from outside.
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, that was. That's what the Bronx is for. You don't just sit outside in the Bronx. The people that got to enjoy it from outside are Bronx residents.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, okay.
Charlamagne Tha God
The rest of y' all better buy a ticket for y' all get robbed. That's they're not gonna be on our fucking sidewalk, sitting in our fucking lawns, eating our motherfucking.
Andrew Schulz
With people outside. Just so many people.
Charlamagne Tha God
I rolled through High Bridge twice just to see the energy. Yo, people had tents out. Yo, there was, there was Puerto Ricans sitting outside with their bottles of liquor. Well, I guess they were Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Spanish, I don't know. They would, yeah, ye, like ice would have a feeling. But they were.
Andrew Schulz
Puerto Ricans are illegal here. They're American citizens.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, but they're out there with their liquor. They got their chicken. They, you know, they got tents. They having a ball, playing dominoes. Playing dominoes. Like that was beautiful to see.
Taylor
I have a question. So I don't get any respect for like being like, oh, wow, I see why so many people like really with Jay Z. Because I've never again, I never not not liked him, but I didn't know the history as much.
Charlamagne Tha God
Tell me what you think. You're 35 now.
Taylor
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
As a 35 year old young woman and watching Jay Z this weekend, what did you see?
Taylor
I was seeing about. Oh, so. So on Sunday, right? I was like, there's two ways to look at it. Like when we were waiting for it to start, I was like, it's like, damn. Like, this is ridiculous. But at the same time like, wow, look at the impact that Jay Z has has on so many people. The all different generations.
Charlamagne Tha God
What superstar is gonna make you wait five hours?
Taylor
That's what I'm saying. That's not Lauryn Hill, that's not Beyonce.
Charlamagne Tha God
And you're gonna actually stay like, nobody moved. Nobody left that concert. I left at 1:30.
Andrew Schulz
We know someone who left.
Taylor
Who?
Andrew Schulz
We know someone who left.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. He was wild enough and he left
Andrew Schulz
like 10 minutes before that shit.
Charlamagne Tha God
That didn't make no, really? That was crazy.
Andrew Schulz
Imagine waiting four hours and then leaving 10 minutes before it started.
Taylor
Canceled.
Andrew Schulz
D block, D block.
Charlamagne Tha God
Imagine. Imagine waiting four or five hours. I can't remember how long it was, but imagine waiting that long. The show starts, nobody leave. But more importantly, nobody was disappointed.
Andrew Schulz
Well, I think the opposite thing usually happens from when you go and you start to think this could not happen and then it does, there's this immense gratitude because you feel like you almost got something for free even though you pay for your tickets.
Alex
Whatever.
Andrew Schulz
It's the opposite. It's not like the entitlement. I mean I once had a show and like The. The. The electricity went out in the venue in Philadelphia at Helium in Philadelphia.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, wow.
Andrew Schulz
And instead of canceling the show, we literally just used a phone light and we just did the whole show. And the energy in the room was like. We thought that this was going to get canceled. Our plans were going to be done. This is going to be awesome. I can't imagine what that must have felt. When you build your entire last few months thinking about what it's going to be like for this night. You're there one hour in, as I happened, two hours, three hours. You're hearing a little whispers, and you're going to fuck. Of course it would be our night. Of course it'd be our night.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. But that's all to me. That's all the reason not to leave. Like, to me. Like, to me, the whole movie. I mean, the whole weekend felt like a movie. Right.
Andrew Schulz
When you got a kid that got school the next day, it's not.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's summertime.
Taylor
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
He should have never left.
Charlamagne Tha God
You shouldn't have left.
Taylor
Yeah. You have work, though.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's summertime.
Taylor
You had work at me late.
Charlamagne Tha God
I was late, but I was there all weekend. I'm 48. Give me some grace.
Andrew Schulz
Damn.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay.
Andrew Schulz
I'm 48.
Charlamagne Tha God
40 fucking 8.
Taylor
Exactly.
Andrew Schulz
You still arguing on the Internet?
Taylor
Exactly.
Charlamagne Tha God
Not even a little bit. Friday, Saturday, Monday. There's no way. I was. I'm like, you know, I got to see how this shit plays out. And I thought about leaving, like, nah. But I got to see how this shit plays out. I just got to see how it goes.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
And for him to come out on Sunday, Monday, actually, and bring all of those artists, give you another show within a show. Not one person complained about the delay. If that was a. If that was. If that was Saturday night, I think people would have complained.
Taylor
Why? They only got working the next.
Charlamagne Tha God
Because people was already complaining because they felt like the blueprint was too short.
Taylor
Yeah, that's what I was saying. I thought people.
Andrew Schulz
Well, how long was that concert Saturday?
Alex
I didn't go that way.
Charlamagne Tha God
It was the shortest. It was definitely the shortest, but, like, how long? Three years. I don't even think it was three hours because D. Nice went on at eight. He started at nine. Eleven. The show might have been over by, like, 11.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, got it. So under two hours. I get it.
Charlamagne Tha God
You're like, okay, I'm sure you can look up the time, but it probably was under two hours.
Taylor
No, my friends said it was 11.
Charlamagne Tha God
It was 11.
Taylor
Yeah.
Alex
Friday, he did, like, three and a half or something like that, right? Or three hours.
Charlamagne Tha God
Friday was long. Yeah, Friday was long. Friday was. Friday was.
Taylor
Friday was the best kind. And honestly, seeing Friday, I. I streamed. No, no, I streamed Friday. I couldn't. I have a babysitter, so I couldn't even go anywhere.
Charlamagne Tha God
Ticket in my suite. This guy. This guy, man.
Andrew Schulz
This guy. I don't know why you friends with him, man? I don't know.
Taylor
I don't know.
Andrew Schulz
You already being vulnerable, you know what I mean? You already talking about things out of your control. Just adding more things out of your control.
Charlamagne Tha God
Taylor gets everything. She's spoiled.
Andrew Schulz
Why didn't you have a babysitter? What about P?
Taylor
Well, it's a long story. With all that, we have one now, but also Pat, he was in Houston, so.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, what was this?
Taylor
Dreamcon?
Andrew Schulz
What?
Taylor
Dreamcon.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, what is that?
Taylor
You guys never heard it?
Charlamagne Tha God
Are you into Anime Con for sleep?
Taylor
No, no. What do they call it? Not animation. What's it?
Charlamagne Tha God
Anime.
Taylor
Anime, yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, I know that.
Taylor
Yeah, it was anime.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, I gotta take my daughter. I even know they had that. I mean, I thought that would be just in with Comic Con.
Taylor
No, that's like the biggest one in Houston. Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
So he went. He went with his boys to Houston. And you believed he was going to look at anime and don't do that.
Alex
And you call me gay. It's hard to call me gay.
Taylor
Why is that gay?
Alex
You travel with your boys to go to an anime.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why you snitching?
Andrew Schulz
Why you snitching? He run down Alex. Alex, Alex, Alex, Alex.
Taylor
We had a nice conversation earlier. So I don't know.
Andrew Schulz
And his girl's white.
Alex
She's Spanish.
Andrew Schulz
You know what I mean? Like Spanish. You with a white ass, girl sell out with your Melody United. Jers. Girl got no melanin. How you gonna wear a Melody United
Charlamagne Tha God
jersey night melanin with a Spanish girl? Yo, how does that work?
Andrew Schulz
And you being generous in Spanish? She's from Spain.
Charlamagne Tha God
She's Spanish, so she's actually a freaking colonizer.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, the greatest colonizers in history.
Charlamagne Tha God
God damn.
Taylor
Damn.
Alex
You doing a show with one.
Andrew Schulz
What'd I do?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, damn.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, right.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn.
Andrew Schulz
You n. You a colonizer? It me, I'm Scottish. We were colonized.
Taylor
Damn.
Andrew Schulz
You think our language is English?
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn, I am.
Andrew Schulz
We were colonized by them crackers, bro. Them crackers colonized us.
Taylor
Them crackers is.
Andrew Schulz
They took away our language, bro. They took away our culture.
Charlamagne Tha God
You don't even know how.
Andrew Schulz
They can't take away our freedom.
Charlamagne Tha God
Tell them you don't even Know how to colonize. Sh.
Andrew Schulz
I don't tell them, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
You tell them. You too broke to colonize.
Andrew Schulz
Too broke to colonize.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cho's too broke to colonize.
Andrew Schulz
Too broke to colonize, Man, I don't
Charlamagne Tha God
even know how to colonize.
Andrew Schulz
I don't even know how to do it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Broke to colonize. Not.
Andrew Schulz
I mean, look, I could probably figure it out. Don't seem that difficult, you know, I mean, might be in the bloodline somewhere. Let's not get crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Listen, man. Shout out to everybody that went to the whole show. I tell. That's. But that's what I mean. Real life experiences, bro.
Taylor
Yeah, y' all was just saying back in the pandemic days, you're like, man, it's all over. No one wants to go to concerts. I literally remember y' all saying.
Andrew Schulz
When did we say that?
Taylor
In the movie theater. Y' all were saying that they were.
Andrew Schulz
They really were.
Taylor
They really were.
Alex
Y' all were.
Andrew Schulz
Both of y' all were wrong, bro. We were wrong. You were wrong than a motherfucker, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
Did shit not change? Like, I don't understand what's wrong.
Taylor
You gotta let people. Exactly. Shit changes. So why can I have changed my mind? Like, you know what?
Andrew Schulz
Cause you didn't change your mind.
Taylor
I did change.
Charlamagne Tha God
My mind changes, yo. Like, I. Like, there is nothing like real life connection, real life experiences. And that's the other thing, Right? Remember I was saying how you didn't
Andrew Schulz
have no questions when your man went to the strip club capital of the world to look at Shout out to
Charlamagne Tha God
Houston, Man, I thought Meg this week was actually.
Taylor
Let's be very clear. My man is very faithful and he loves being a positive.
Andrew Schulz
I never said he's not faithful.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cancers are the most faithful.
Alex
Wow.
Charlamagne Tha God
I saw that today.
Taylor
So what are you doing? So what are you. What are you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cancers are the most faithful.
Taylor
What are you.
Andrew Schulz
Did you just start being a cancer?
Taylor
Like, eight years.
Charlamagne Tha God
And let's be clear, okay? And God damn it. All right.
Taylor
Either way, what?
Charlamagne Tha God
Cancers are the most faithful cancer men. Now, cancer boys, you gotta worry about cancer men the most faithful.
Taylor
Yeah, but why are you saying. Why do I question. Like, we check in with each other and all that.
Andrew Schulz
I'm obviously joking. Come on.
Taylor
But, Alex, I didn't say nothing.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, Alex, you literally.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's the second time she checked you. Y' all must have been bonding over dick earlier. No, y' all must have been talking about how good dick is or something.
Andrew Schulz
Cause you melon. And you united with.
Charlamagne Tha God
You didn't see how Taylor checked. Taylor was like, yo, Alex, me and you had a good conversation earlier. Don't forget what the we was talking about. What we was talking about. I told you what kind of l to start. Take that in the butt Mary dick sucking tips earlier. That's how that we.
Andrew Schulz
Yo, don't let us get away with that. Don't let up that.
Taylor
That's nice.
Andrew Schulz
Shout out P. Let P go to Houston. Let him go wherever he wants.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shout out to Houston, man.
Andrew Schulz
Shout out Houston. Yo, what the fuck? Why can't we just let our partners go to Houston?
Charlamagne Tha God
Why can't we let our partners go?
Andrew Schulz
Why can't we let our partners enjoy
Charlamagne Tha God
anime and why is it gay to have male joy?
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, why is that gay?
Alex
I mean, no.
Andrew Schulz
I mean,
Charlamagne Tha God
she sounds like you.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, no. What's going on? Next question. I played the fifth. I played the fifth.

Taylor
All right, are y' all ready for it?
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, question though. Does that happen at Yankee Stadium a lot?
Andrew Schulz
The people trying to.
Alex
People say that they don't have any
Andrew Schulz
Concerts like that, they have 81 home games a year. Not one home game is delayed four hours. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Insecurity is bad when security's not used to something.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah. Like, you know what I mean?
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, that's not what we do. We're used to old people coming in to watch the games with their kids, grandparents. Yeah, yeah, I get what you said.
Andrew Schulz
Come on. Baseball game is relaxing. It's just being outside, so there's no real urgency.
Charlamagne Tha God
Salute to Eminem, too. But they went crazy when Eminem came out there.
Taylor
Oh, yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Em is the truth, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
I wonder why Em don't tour. Like, Em got a cult like following of, like, everybody on the planet. But I'm seriously, especially there's a generation of white males who grew up on Eminem who would probably love to take their kids to an Eminem show. Like, I wonder why Eminem don't do shit like this.
Taylor
He likes his piece.
Andrew Schulz
He will.
Charlamagne Tha God
Do you think it's because his. I would think. I'm just asking. Do you think Eminem's music has aged well?
Andrew Schulz
I think that you're not trying to age the music.
Taylor
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You want people to feel what they felt.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah. Like, I think you. I. I think it's almost like you, when you go to something like this, you hope it doesn't age because you're trying to feel that nostalgia. You're trying to get back to that moment when you were a teenager before a high school basketball game, and you're putting in Eminem's crazy.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
And, like, getting into the mood and excited for the game. Whatever. Like, you want to relive those emotions you had as a young person. So I don't want it to age well.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, you want it to be one.
Andrew Schulz
Hi, my name is. And I want to be a kid again for a second. Listen to that shit.
Charlamagne Tha God
He did the Right song, though.
Andrew Schulz
He did Renegade. Right.
Charlamagne Tha God
He did Renegade. And then Jay left the stage and he did Lose Yourself.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, forget it. But that's a generation.
Charlamagne Tha God
He got hype. I'm telling you.
Andrew Schulz
That's generational.
Alex
People's dreams are nightmare dreams and nightmares.
Andrew Schulz
The reason nightmares came second.
Alex
No, I know, but I mean, the way I get hyped for that.
Taylor
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Like, y' all acting like y' all don't get hyped. This is the shit that I hate.
Alex
Like, we do. Not the way y'.
Andrew Schulz
All.
Taylor
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Pollute yourself. Like, y' all be like, I hate this crazy. I hate this shit. Yeah, it's okay. I hate this shit. I hate acting like you're not excited by it. That's why I get excited by it.
Charlamagne Tha God
That is like white people's knuck if you buck. I think dreams and nightmares is a good comparison.
Taylor
It is.
Charlamagne Tha God
Or rpsa.
Alex
Okay.
Andrew Schulz
Nah, PSA is different.
Taylor
Yeah, I don't think so either.
Andrew Schulz
PSA is. PSA is just a different type of song. It doesn't. It's not.
Charlamagne Tha God
The Lose yourself literally is like. It's like. When it's like white people sitting around like, yeah, I'm gonna show mom tonight. I'm gonna show you mom.
Andrew Schulz
It's not show mom tonight. This is. This is. This is what I think non white people can't imagine about. White people.
Charlamagne Tha God
Talk to me.
Andrew Schulz
Non white people don't think white people see themselves as the underdogs ever. So when you see white people getting excited for Lose yourself. If you're positioning white people as the overdogs. Right. Not the underdogs, you're like, what is this connection to this? Most white people think they're the underdogs. So when they're watching Rocky or they're watching any comeback moment in a movie, it's no different than y', all, right? Where it's just like, oh, we're up against all odds. It's David versus Goliath, and this is going to be the moment where everything turns. It's a wrestling match when Hulk is hulking up and the crowd is getting them back into it. It's not a colored thing. It's literally everybody viewing themselves as having an impossible task in front of them. And this is the thing that's going to get you excited.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's not a color thing.
Andrew Schulz
It's not a color thing. Like, you guys also have the same connection to it.
Charlamagne Tha God
You mean color?
Andrew Schulz
Like, it's not a color thing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, color. I thought he said color.
Andrew Schulz
I just want to know, because people
Charlamagne Tha God
will be like, what y' all just say?
Andrew Schulz
He just says, beautiful explanation. I can't even talk. I can't even talk. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Charlamagne Tha God
I know he talking about nostalgia, but goddamn. You know what's so funny? Before Birdman walked in and you can go back and watch me tell this story from way back in the day. I've told it. When he was in the lobby, he
Andrew Schulz
was listening to Lose Yourself.
Charlamagne Tha God
Lose Yourself was playing. Yes. I'm looking at him through the glass, and Lose Yourself was playing. And he was.
Taylor
I do not remember that.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, that's what white people. That's what's going on in our.
Charlamagne Tha God
I Was trying to tell you. Go back. I've told this story before Eminem, Lose yourself was playing before Lose yourself ever came out.
Andrew Schulz
Before the song ever existed. I begin to hear before the song ever existed.
Charlamagne Tha God
His palms are sweaty.
Andrew Schulz
That's every white boy playing in a pickup game with majority black people. That's his car through the head. Before that song ever existed. Before the song ever existed. He's like, I got next. And then it starts. That's everything going through the box.
Charlamagne Tha God
Let me see.
Andrew Schulz
Man, if you give a white person a task that they could possibly fail at.
Charlamagne Tha God
Damn.
Andrew Schulz
That's what's going through their mind. Damn, yes.
Alex
Oh, that.
Andrew Schulz
That's where they fucked up with Biden if they played that shit.
Charlamagne Tha God
The way it comes in is like one of them ones though. Thank you.
Taylor
Sounds like a.
Andrew Schulz
It's like Dreams of Nightmare. Exact. Yeah. You can't liken some to some that came after.
Charlamagne Tha God
It does do it though. Cuz they did this. They let this whole piano play the other night. They let that play. The band was playing that. Then it's like.
Andrew Schulz
It's the guitar.
Charlamagne Tha God
The whole arena was like, oh,
Alex
was
Andrew Schulz
this before renegade or no?
Charlamagne Tha God
After he jack the stage.
Andrew Schulz
Yo, this is a little embarrassing.
Charlamagne Tha God
If you had one opportunity.
Andrew Schulz
I got goosebumps
Taylor
a little.
Andrew Schulz
I got goosebumps right now. My hair is standing on ass.
Taylor
Have you seen Eminem on concert already?
Charlamagne Tha God
M spaghetti.
Andrew Schulz
But he keeps on forgetting.
Charlamagne Tha God
He broke down. The whole crowd go so loud. Y this m but the words won't come out. Joking now. Everybody's joking now. Talking now. Oh my Go, Brad. Brad.
Alex
N. That's just fire.
Charlamagne Tha God
Fire, fire. Imagine Generational record.
Andrew Schulz
Just imagine. Just. Just imagine. Sit back and imagine. Imagine Eminem was black and made that song.
Taylor
I mean, it'll be like dreams and nightmares.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's tough. I mean, I don't even. It's not a race record. It's a now.
Andrew Schulz
It's not now.
Alex
It's not.
Andrew Schulz
I'mma go outside. I'm going to come back in and let me tell you something. Nothing will have changed. It's not a race record. What the fuck am I going to say?
Charlamagne Tha God
It depends. It depends. It depends who made the record.
Andrew Schulz
That's what I think every single time I walk into this world.
Charlamagne Tha God
It depends who made the record. The reason that record went so hard.
Andrew Schulz
Why don't we do it now? What are we fucking doing here?
Charlamagne Tha God
The reason that record was hard.
Andrew Schulz
This is really a 30 minute podcast. If we just say the same thing over and over again four times, so it becomes two hours that's what happens every single week on this podcast. How nobody has figured this out.
Charlamagne Tha God
Cause you got to say it in an entertaining way. The reason that this record took off the way it did is. Is because Eminem had success.
Andrew Schulz
Play the song.
Charlamagne Tha God
He literally lived.
Andrew Schulz
It's in my head right now.
Charlamagne Tha God
He was living his rap. He was living his rap. You ever came out to a stand up special with this?
Andrew Schulz
Nah. PSA and psa and Hustler's Ambition.
Charlamagne Tha God
How come you never came out to this typecasting nose? Yeah, two on the nose.
Andrew Schulz
On the nose.
Alex
But it's not racial.
Andrew Schulz
Say again?
Alex
If it's not racial, how come to
Andrew Schulz
y' all it is. You know what I mean? Like a white boy being really into this song.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
So you guys are like, ah, you guys would really like that song.
Charlamagne Tha God
I wonder what Dr. Umar would do if he was about to come out somewhere and somebody played that song for him. You think he would walk out?
Andrew Schulz
Nah, he would love it.
Charlamagne Tha God
You would feel it.
Andrew Schulz
You would feel it.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know who killed the night too? Jeezy.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, he killed it.
Taylor
Yeah, that was good. That was good. Woo.
Charlamagne Tha God
Jeezy came out and did seen it. All right. And then they did Dope Boys go Crazy. Oh my God. That's my second big concert of the summer. I'm going to see Jeezy in Vegas, man. You know, Jeezy does a residency in Vegas and it's black tie, so you gotta wear, you know, black. You gotta wear a suit. Wife gotta wear the black cocktail dress or whatever. And it's a band. That's the next thing I'm going to see. This is a great summer. Unc is outside, baby.
Andrew Schulz
Maybe it's just cause we're old now, but doesn't everything feel uncified?
Charlamagne Tha God
What you mean we're un.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
No, I mean culture.
Taylor
You know, I was good.
Alex
I was.
Taylor
I was going to say that though it seems like y' all generation is still conquering over.
Andrew Schulz
It's dominating.
Taylor
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Like it.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's like the.
Andrew Schulz
Even the way people are dressing shit is back to the 90s, which was our generation. Or it's baggy clothes. People are wearing the sneakers that are fat at the bottom. Like the hokas and shit. It's like they're wearing sneakers that are literally made for people over 40 whose feet hurt. Like even the cool feels uncified. Now it could be just us seeing this because we're unks. So you know how you get a new car now? You see your car every time you walk down the street before you got the car, you don't notice it ever. So it could be that. But yeah, it just feels like culture is.
Charlamagne Tha God
You do know that the age demographic, the highest spending consumers in America are generally 45 to 54, with 35 to 44 and 55 to 64 close behind.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, but you know the reason for that?
Charlamagne Tha God
Because those are. 45 to 54 is the peak earning years.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah. Disposable income.
Charlamagne Tha God
They got disposable income. They often support children in our college expenses, you know, and they. We spend more on travel, entertainment, like, that's the demo. So I, you know, I, I understand why people, you know. No, I don't understand. Why do you want to cater to kids if you're not a kid?
Andrew Schulz
Because kids will dictate culture.
Charlamagne Tha God
Do they anymore to their duo? For sure.
Andrew Schulz
But the thing about kids, which is so funny, is that there are all these, like, Gen Z young kids right now that are dressing like we dressed
Charlamagne Tha God
back in the day and telling us we shouldn't dress like that no more.
Andrew Schulz
And not even that. They're not telling us we shouldn't dress like that. But there is a version where they're like, oh, you trying to dress young? Or are you trying to dress cool? And it's like you're wearing our clothes.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, that's all I know what to do.
Alex
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, like, dressing gay is new for us.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, that was an adjustment.
Charlamagne Tha God
It was an adjustment. Word up.
Andrew Schulz
You know how hard it was to get into these?
Charlamagne Tha God
You see what I'm saying?
Andrew Schulz
But these.
Charlamagne Tha God
But you look comfortable. You look comfortable.
Andrew Schulz
You want to try that on, bro?
Charlamagne Tha God
No, that's crazy.
Andrew Schulz
I'm being so honest.
Charlamagne Tha God
But it looks something. What is it called?
Andrew Schulz
Oh, these. I don't know. I got a viva like, you dead
Alex
ass are just wearing pajamas.
Charlamagne Tha God
But. That's young anyway, so you got to
Andrew Schulz
be ready to sleep whenever.
Charlamagne Tha God
But that's young. That's young. I've been watching that in my daughter's high school for the last four years. They go to school dressed like that.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, but this is how we.
Charlamagne Tha God
Especially during the Yeezy era, we did pajamas.
Andrew Schulz
Adam Sandler always in some shorts and house clothes.
Taylor
Yes, we did.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, for not my era. My era was dope boy fresh. Like, we had to put that on.
Andrew Schulz
Like what?
Charlamagne Tha God
Like we at least put on clothes. You didn't come to school looking comfortable. Back then.
Alex
There was like a period where pajamas was.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm 48.
Taylor
Yeah,
Andrew Schulz
I understand what he's saying. With like, like, girls are wearing. They look like underwear, but they wear them as shorts. Young people, it's like. Like box linen. The boxers they're wearing like boxes and that kind of. So maybe we never did that. But like, when we were growing, when I was young, you were a little bit older. I don't know if it was popular down south. But, like, the Gap sweatsuit, which is like, casual as fuck, like you're wearing this. That was the cool thing to wear. You weren't even doing exercise or nothing. It was just, I'm gonna wear a Gap sweater.
Charlamagne Tha God
That was regular. So, yeah, all I'm simply saying, do whatever we do. That demo, not only is it the highest spending demo, it's a demo that, for whatever reason, people aren't afraid to embrace anymore. And I think the only reason people aren't afraid to embrace it anymore is because of exactly what you're saying. Nostalgia is back in. But it's not just nostalgia. It's just people want what's actually good. When you have money, you want to make sure what you're spending your money on is going to satisfy you. You know, if you go to a Mary J. Blige concert, you're going to be satisfied. You know, if you go see Eminem, you're going to be satisfied. You know, if you go to see Jay Z, you're going to be satisfied. You'll spend all your money on Jay Z merch. Because all of this is nostalgia.
Andrew Schulz
I think that there's another component.
Charlamagne Tha God
Talk to me.
Andrew Schulz
I think that.
Charlamagne Tha God
And we just need something to do sometimes.
Andrew Schulz
Okay. So there's two more components. One, older people, they like activities.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes.
Andrew Schulz
Because we don't just go, yo, what are we doing Friday? There ain't no, like, no plans.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, we can't wing it.
Andrew Schulz
Ain't no wing.
Charlamagne Tha God
It is over, buddy.
Andrew Schulz
We gotta call babysitters. We gotta get the family over. The kids gotta get fed.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's right.
Andrew Schulz
So it's like, if we're going to do a thing, it's got to be an event.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's right.
Andrew Schulz
The other thing is we are not really in touch with the new artists. So we don't have new artists to be excited to go see. So we really are relegated to going to watch the people that have impacted us in our lives. And that is the artists having these nostalgic moments.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
And when it becomes the Super Saiyan moment like this was, it's when the next generation is curious about the old heads because those artists have managed to remain relevant.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's right.
Andrew Schulz
And the old heads Are all like, I need to go experience every young
Charlamagne Tha God
artist that was there this weekend. The ones that I saw. And not even, not even. I don't want to just say young. Like, even the ones like. Like the Wale's and the Fabulouses with the young ones, like the Ruben Vincent's and all of them, they were all saying, that's what I want.
Andrew Schulz
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
They were like, I want that.
Andrew Schulz
There was aspiration, yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, that's the greatest show I ever seen. But I want that. I want that type of reverence. I want to make that type of music. I want to be beloved in that way. They wanted that.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
And that's what you should. That's what that. That's what the OGs are for. To provide that type of inspiration. That's how I felt, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'm not a rapper, but just looking at the business and infrastructure of something like a ROC Nation, yo, shout out to Emory Jones. Emory is, you know, Jay's guy. I remember being in the office watching Emory throwing the paper plane around and just asking him like, yo, what's that? And he was like, that's the next iteration of where we going with the clothing? And to see everybody, literally everybody, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, all his merch walking around with paper plane merchandise. Like, it's not merch in the sense of, oh, I gotta get this merch. Cause you know, that's my favorite artist. And it's not, you know, clothes in the sense of, oh, I'm rocking this. Cause it's fashion. That paper plane means something to people. People wear that paper plane in their everyday life. So watching people walk around for three days with that paper plane on, that's the. You only see that reverence for sports teams. You only see that type of reference for sports teams. That paper plane means somethin. People got the pins on, people got T shirts, people got hats. Like, that paper plane means something to somebody. That's Big man salute to Emory.
Alex
There were people hitting me like, yo, can you cop me, Merchant? That they were not at the show and they were asking me to copy.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm trying to tell you that shit. That shit means something. So that's the type of shit I look at and be like, that's what you want to build. Whatever you're building, you want it to be like that. You want people to. You want people to. You want. You want. You want to be beloved. Who was I talking to? Oh, Michael Rubin was saying that. We had him on Breakfast Club last week, and he was just Talking about how he wants Fanatics to be beloved. When I was small, we dreamed about getting big. Now that we're a little bit bigger, I think big is bad. I dream about how do you become beloved? Like, how do you make the most beloved brand in the world? And it's funny, you talk about Fanatics Fest. It's like, that's about how do you be beloved? How do you bring all these incredible, you know, athletes, celebrities, artists, and most importantly, 200,000 sports fans together for four days? And that's like, that's about being beloved. And I was, I had to think about it for a moment because beloved means emotional attachment. And to me, a company like Fanatics would get that anyway because they're sports. I feel like if you're spelling, if you're selling sports gear, you don't think so.
Andrew Schulz
No, because your connection is to the teams. It's not to. Like, for example, the NBA is not beloved. The teams within it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah.
Andrew Schulz
The game of basketball is. But like, nobody cares about feba, you know, or like FIFA. They care about the individual teams that are in it because they have connectivity to that. So, like, doing that with a brand like Fanatics would be very powerful. But like, I need, I need to understand, like, what is Fanatics.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. People are more like. That's. That's a good point. Because you, you'll walk in the store and see a jersey, but you'll look to see if it's Mitchell and Ness or if it's. What other brands is out there. I don't.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah. Like, you know, like a champion for me, like, I heart is a massive company, but it has properties within it that are beloved by people. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know if there's someone who's like, I love all of the things I Heart does.
Taylor
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Because they probably don't even know all the.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
That I heart does. Just like NBC. It's like, I don't love NBC. I might love specific show that comes out on NBC. So it's very hard to have. You know who got the closest? Hbo.
Alex
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
HBO had a small enough catalog and enough bangers that people started to be like, I love this brand.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think they still got it.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But like, when we were watching Sunday
Charlamagne Tha God
night, you had to watch it. Whatever came on Sunday night at 8:00 o', clock, 9:00'. Clock. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever came on Sunday night, 8:00', clock, 9:00', clock, 10:00', clock, you got to watch it on HBO. Guaranteed banger.
Alex
They still got it.
Andrew Schulz
I mean, they kind of. That dragon. This is fire. No, no, what I would say is. And this is something. Maybe there's like a generational rift here, and this is only because of technological changes, but, like, there was a time, Yo. Where we watched football all day and then whatever.
Charlamagne Tha God
That show on tv, The Wires and Rhinos. Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Like, you didn't have to leave the house.
Charlamagne Tha God
Game of Thrones. Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
You'd have to leave the house from.
Taylor
From noon.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Until 10:00pm or 11:00pm you're not wrong.
Charlamagne Tha God
You are not fucking wrong. You're not wrong. Damn, you're right.
Andrew Schulz
It was like a whole, like. Imagine you're. Imagine you're a Christian, Right. Or a Catholic. You go to church Sunday morning, you get the word. You feeling filled up, you're excited.
Charlamagne Tha God
Holy box office.
Andrew Schulz
Holy box. You go home, you're watching your favorite team play. You're watching the game you're probably betting on after that. And then you're watching the show that you've been watching for three seasons that you're so invested in all these characters. And then you go. It was almost like a treat before you gotta go to your shitty ass work week.
Charlamagne Tha God
I really would love to talk to the executives at HBO from that era. Oh, God, I'm not even joking. Who were the executives there? And I wonder, did all of them have something to do with that Sunday night lineup? Because there was a bar of excellence that HBO set.
Andrew Schulz
Nah, it was insanity.
Charlamagne Tha God
It was insanity like how you don't got no Mrs. Bro.
Andrew Schulz
It was.
Charlamagne Tha God
They did. And if they did, I can't remember
Andrew Schulz
them, but they went Wire Sopranos, True Blood, Six Feet Under. I think people like in the City. Sex in the Sex City was insane.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, man. Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
I don't know if that was Sundays. Was that Sundays?
Alex
Pretty sure.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was Sundays.
Andrew Schulz
But there was just a run where
Charlamagne Tha God
it was Game of Thrones.
Andrew Schulz
Game of Thrones run was.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm gonna tell you the. That they. That. I don't know why they didn't keep doing Lovecraft Country. I know that first season of Lovecraft country was Fire. Fire with Jonathan Mages and Was it Justice Smollett's sister? I think it was, right? Yeah, that was fire. I'm hbo. HBO had it, bro. I mean, they still got it. There's certain shows I watch, I just don't know when they come on.
Alex
And now they're about to have Harry Potter when ACT starts.
Charlamagne Tha God
Gotta watch Harry Potter.
Alex
That's gonna be crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Gotta watch Harry Potter.
Alex
Yeah. They're making a series and they do it.
Andrew Schulz
Basically, each movie becomes.
Alex
Each book is a season.
Andrew Schulz
Each book is a season.
Charlamagne Tha God
By the way, the Penguin was fire. Yeah, Penguin was fire. Peacemaker, to me, is fire. I love both seasons of Peacemaker with John Cena, people.
Andrew Schulz
I thought really, like, Peacemaker.
Charlamagne Tha God
Peacemaker was fire. I can't wait for season three of Peacemaker. Yeah, Peacemaker was great. I can't wait to see the lanterns. The lanterns was fantastic. The second season of Peacemaker was dope. Dope. When they went to the alternate world
Alex
and just, like, it was cool, but it wasn't like.
Charlamagne Tha God
I enjoyed it. Enjoyed it.
Alex
Put it against all the other shows on hbo.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, no, I'm with you. I'm just with you. I'm just about.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, that one.
Charlamagne Tha God
One World. I ain't watching one World.
Alex
What was it called?
Andrew Schulz
Oh, West.
Charlamagne Tha God
Westworld.
Andrew Schulz
That first season of Westworld was crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hacks is good, too. You ever watch Hacks?
Andrew Schulz
Everybody keeps telling me that is good, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shout out to Hack. We on. We on the new season of Hacks. We did a curb. Curb.
Alex
Oh, curb.
Charlamagne Tha God
How you forget about Curb?
Andrew Schulz
What'd you do? Oh, wow. What you doing a new season. Hacks.
Charlamagne Tha God
She came to Breakfast Club.
Andrew Schulz
Wait, it takes place con contemporary time. Hacks.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah. Hacks is in modern day New York. Hold on, let me get.
Taylor
Really? Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, I had no clue.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hold on one second. I want to see. Yeah. Deborah Vance. Genius, smarts character.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Deborah Vance comes to Breakfast Club to promote her. I think it's her Madison Square Garden show.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
So she comes to Breakfast Club to promote it. We on this season, the final season. I think we're on episode six, I believe. We start the show and this shit is dope because it started like, they literally started off like the Breakfast. Like how it starts off on Netflix and YouTube. Like, they literally start the show like that. And so it'll fuck you up if you're just watching it. Because, you know, if you used to watching Breakfast Club videos, you were like, oh, shit. But Hacks is dope. Hacks is fun. Let's pay some bills, man. Best thing that's ever happened to you financially. Go easy.
Andrew Schulz
Sold my car on Carvana. Amazing offer, really.
Charlamagne Tha God
I hit 200 on a scratcher.
Andrew Schulz
Did the scratcher come to your house and hand you a check?
Taylor
No.
Andrew Schulz
How many scratchers did you hit to get that? I hit a button on Carvana.com, once.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay, that's fair.
Andrew Schulz
It's like the lottery, except you always win.
Charlamagne Tha God
Not like the lottery at all, actually.
Andrew Schulz
Exactly. Inexplicably good offers worth bragging about. Sell your car today on Carvana. Pickup fees may apply.
Charlamagne Tha God
Let's get back to the show. You got some church announcements, Hezekiah Walker?
Andrew Schulz
Yes, sir. This weekend. Bray, I'm so sorry. We had to move shows to this weekend from last weekend, but we added another day, so there's two more shows there. Brea Improv. We'll see you guys there this weekend. Thursday, Friday, Saturday. And then Halifax, Nova Scotia, August 8th. We got Mark Gagnon coming with me. Cam Patterson coming with me. Lucas Zelnick, come with me. Rory Gardner is going to be opening it up, so you can get tickets
Charlamagne Tha God

Mentalwealthexpo.com or you can email thementalwealthalliancemail.com okay, email the mentalwealthalliancemail.com to be a volunteer, but October 10th, World Mental Health Day from 10:00am to 3:30pm that'll be your volunteer time commitment. And we'll see y' all at the Joelle and Diane Bloom Wellness and Event center in Newark. And as always, it is a free event. Taylor Gang. What else we got? Taylor Gang. Gang.
Taylor
So apparently, I'm sure y' all saw this, but apparently this is AI, right?
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, that's AI, apparently. Yeah. I didn't think Kevin Durant would do no shit.
Taylor
But look, someone said the reason why is because of his hair. His hairline.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. I didn't think Kevin Durant would do no shit like this. Scroll up. It said, what? What's it given? Kevin Durant poses for his new KD19 candy apple in a new photo. But I feel like if it was AI, Kevin Durant would have denounced that already. Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant would have got on social media and been like, nah, that ain't real, bro. Hold on, let me look, what's the name of this? Kevin Durant Candy Apples.
Taylor
Someone made a really funny post about it, though.
Andrew Schulz
What'd they say?
Taylor
I'll bring it up. Hold on.
Alex
I think Katie posted, yes, it is fake.
Charlamagne Tha God
Most illustrated posture. Yeah, it is fake. I was like, there's no way. Kevin Durant would never do no shit.
Taylor
That's what I was like, why are they. This is weird.
Charlamagne Tha God
Kevin Durant, like, that's not even some shit you could get Kevin Durant to do. You know how photographers will have you doing the wildest shit? You know how you doing a photo shoot?
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
And a photographer would be like, bite the apple and look into the camera, but turn your head to the left, but turn your eyes to the right. No, he can't. Kev wouldn't do no shit like this. Are those sneakers even real?
Taylor
I don't know.
Andrew Schulz
I think the sneakers are probably real.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah. Let's not make. Let's not do that to candy apples, man.
Andrew Schulz
Y', all, there's no way his mouth can even fit around. He's biting the entire apple.
Charlamagne Tha God
I was like, God. You know what I'm saying?
Andrew Schulz
Yeah. There's no way now.
Charlamagne Tha God
You can do that now if you open wide enough. But that's the whole point. That's what would make it gay.
Andrew Schulz
I don't think he could open wide like that.
Charlamagne Tha God
You don't think so?
Andrew Schulz
No, I don't think Kev got it like that, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
You don't think Kev got the jaw to open wide like that?
Andrew Schulz
I don't think so, man. A whole apple Shout out to Katie.
Alex
Could be a small apple.
Andrew Schulz
Yes, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
We don't know how big the apple is. That is true. Don't bite the apple, Eve. I'll tell you this, though, man. That right there is what's wrong with the Internet. And I do not want to spend the rest of my life looking at shit asking if it's real. Because guess what? I didn't know it was fake till just now.
Andrew Schulz
Till just now.
Charlamagne Tha God
Till Taylor said, some people are thinking, this is AI. So I went to go look at it just now, and the first thing that popped up was a Sports Illustrated article that said. What did it say? Fake Nike ad for Kevin Durant fooled the Internet. Now, how many people gonna see that ad? H. How many people gonna see that ad? Nobody cares about the truth. And the lie is more entertaining. Kevin Durant eating that candy apple is entertaining?
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like. And if you stare at it too
Alex
long, isn't this a good thing?
Charlamagne Tha God
What?
Alex
Even if it's fake, all this publicity, that's the point of an ad. Forget.
Charlamagne Tha God
Not if you ain't real.
Alex
Not if the shoe is real.
Charlamagne Tha God
The shoe is actually real.
Alex
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why?
Alex
It's a shoe. He. It's an all red shoe. He's coming out with all the Rockets colors.
Charlamagne Tha God
Red. I guess they are, right? Are you sure? Yo.
Alex
Yes, the shoe is actually real. Yeah, it's just the. Him biting the apple.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's who the wearing candy apples. And what do candy apples got to do with Kevin Durant?
Taylor
We can.
Alex
I mean, everybody kind of does. Let me see an all red shoe ever since Kanye came out with the red October.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why you got to call them candy apples? Red October sound hard. Candy apples on your feet make the cipher complete.
Alex
I mean, Jordan had the grapes.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah. But grape is the grape can be crip.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying?
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Grape, you think crip, you think grape eight.
Andrew Schulz
But also candy. You think candy painted like, oh, Houston.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Candy red. You right. Yeah, yeah. Candy what? Candy apple. I don't know, man. I don't know. What is this? Who's this?
Taylor
So this guy commented before we found out.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's not this guy. That's Ray Ray.
Alex
Yeah, he's funny.
Taylor
Okay, well, sorry. Sorry, Ray Ray, but I've never. I've never seen him before, but he commented. Why y' all laughing?
Andrew Schulz
I have doubling down.
Alex
Yeah, I know.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, I've seen Ray Ray.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Taylor
Okay, well, this is what he had to say.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think you're on the radio, too.
Andrew Schulz
Dropping sneakers.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, you trying to show the world how wide your mouth open.
Taylor
Pause. No, no.
Charlamagne Tha God
What the is you selling? What it's given. Somebody's saying it's given. You're not even selling the shoe, Kev.
Andrew Schulz
What the is you got? What do you. Who's on your marketing team? That's what.
Charlamagne Tha God
First of all, the shoes was gonna buy the shoes regardless. You didn't have to come up here doing this.
Andrew Schulz
Yo, bro, you is 7 foot 1 3.
Charlamagne Tha God
Whatever the you is. You're tall. Selling shoes,
Andrew Schulz
eating candy apples.
Taylor
Just walks off to it.
Charlamagne Tha God
You gotta watch for the agenda sometime. Even though this is fake, because the reality of the situation is if this was real, Ray Ray is right. There's no reason to be eating the candy apple. You doing that because you want to do it. You know what I'm saying? Like you. Because the first thing you said was, yo, I don't think his mouth can get wide open like that. Yeah, crazy. Shout out to kd, man, after seeing
Taylor
this, I was like, so is it like an athlete thing just wants to be like, they're trying to experiment with their sexuality.
Charlamagne Tha God
Because, Taylor, we've already established this fake.
Taylor
I know, but, but then I said, you know, I, I, I compared it to Tom Brady with his look. Good nut. Shit.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, no, no, no, no. It's different. Brady.
Taylor
Yeah, no, I'm not. A little bit.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, no, because Brady got a drink called Good Nut.
Taylor
And I know it's coconut water or whatever like that, but it's just, it's funny. It's a little gay, too.
Charlamagne Tha God
Really? Everybody. It's not just for men.
Andrew Schulz
So what, we just gotta be miserable? Is that it?
Charlamagne Tha God
It's not just.
Andrew Schulz
Is that the only way we can be?
Taylor
I'm not saying that. I'm not saying I have no problem with gay. I'm just saying that I think you
Charlamagne Tha God
got a problem with gay.
Taylor
I don't.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's not called Good Nut. For men, it's good nut, but women don't care that much about it. I don't think about men when I think about drinking.
Taylor
Nut sounds so crazy. Are you saying that when you think
Charlamagne Tha God
about who drinks the most nut in America, in the world, historically. Come on, now.
Taylor
But you're not even saying nut. You're saying coconut.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think it's, I think it's gays, bro. Man, way they be hooking up. Women have something like, no, women. Come on, bro. Like, what are we talking about? Historically?
Andrew Schulz
I think, historically, I don't know if women have the reputation of, like, oh, I want that. I think if they want it, it makes them more special.
Charlamagne Tha God
I mean, they're the ones who invented the swallowing.
Andrew Schulz
I don't know if they invented it. I'll be honest with you. I don't know if they invented it. I think that might have been guys. Most things that are fun and awesome, guys invent. Is that not true?
Charlamagne Tha God
Nah, bro.
Alex
Yes.
Andrew Schulz
Be honest. Like fun and awesome.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know, there's very, you know, there's versions of the Bible where it's not an apple. Yeah, it's a nut.
Andrew Schulz
It's a wet nut.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's a nut. There's versions of the Bible where it's not an apple, it's a nut who eats it. Eve.
Andrew Schulz
Exactly.
Charlamagne Tha God
And she was told not to eat the nut, and she just couldn't help herself. But she couldn't hold on the Bible.
Andrew Schulz
She was told not to do.
Charlamagne Tha God
She was told not to do it, and she couldn't help herself.
Andrew Schulz
Of course, she was different.
Charlamagne Tha God
She wouldn't know.
Andrew Schulz
All the other women were not eating.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, that. But she set the tone so every woman after her just can't resist swallowing that nut. I gotta have it. Even if God tells me no, I'm gonna put it in my mouth and swallow it.
Andrew Schulz
And that's what made her so special.
Charlamagne Tha God
You see what I'm saying? But that's women.
Andrew Schulz
No, that's woman.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's a special trait.
Andrew Schulz
That's woman.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, there's two things that Eve did that set the tone for women throughout society.
Andrew Schulz
Exactly.
Taylor
This is what y' all wanted to. With the.
Charlamagne Tha God
Listen. There's two things that women did to set the tone for themselves for the rest of their lives. Eve did this. What are the two things Eve did?
Andrew Schulz
What am I looking at?
Charlamagne Tha God
You're not listening.
Andrew Schulz
I can't by looking at this right here.
Alex
Hold on. You see this?
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't want to see it. That's crazy.
Andrew Schulz
Is that real or AI?
Taylor
No, it's real, but what is it? I don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
Taylor, you be fucking with Chris. You just be googling wild Asian shit just to send to Chris. Because that is crazy.
Taylor
There's a facial.
Charlamagne Tha God
There's two things Eve did that set the tone for women for the rest of life. One, she did not listen. Okay? God told her not to do something and she still did it. Did not listen. Do women listen?
Andrew Schulz
No.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay.
Taylor
Men don't listen.
Andrew Schulz
Two, what's that have to do with women?
Charlamagne Tha God
Two, in the original version of the Bible, swallow the nut.
Taylor
I tuned out. I don't know what you was talking about.
Charlamagne Tha God
What else we got? Taylor,
Taylor
you were like this.
Charlamagne Tha God
I just want people to know that you should believe me. Even when I'm lying.
Taylor
Exactly.
Charlamagne Tha God
Any listeners will know exactly what I was just lying about. But there'll be some Christian website that will clip me and say that I said, in the original version of the Bible, Eve swallowed a nut. And they'll be like, what version of the Bible is this? Charlemagne, the blasphemous God. But Brandon, listeners know to trust me even when I'm lying. Believe me, even when I'm lying.
Andrew Schulz
What are you.
Charlamagne Tha God
I think this was fake.
Andrew Schulz
Nah, this guy.
Taylor
That's fake. I thought it was fake.
Charlamagne Tha God
I watched this shit a million times. This was fake. Comedian viciously booed off stage at Indianapolis Helium Comedy Club. Bottles and objects thrown during performance. Like. Like. Play it. I don't even know what he's talking about that made him do this. Yeah, they said he was talking about some rapper that died. God bless the dance.
Andrew Schulz
Oh, shit. Boy,
Taylor
that's all I got, though. I never.
Charlamagne Tha God
If that was really happening. To you. You'd leave the stage, you wouldn't turn around like you in the Blair Witch Project.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
And post up like that. It looked like he was just giving up cheeks immediately. Like he just gave up. He was like. It didn't look like that. Like, play the fresh play. He looked like, oh, fuck, I'm only gonna get out here alive if I give up the cheeks. Watch, watch. Oh, shit. What? He drops the mic, puts the mic down.
Taylor
It's hanging.
Charlamagne Tha God
How he dropped it. You know what I'm saying? Take it, take it, take it, take it. But I'm not bending over. What's his name? Comedian Calmer.
Andrew Schulz
Calamar.
Charlamagne Tha God
Salute to. What is it? Click his name. It's right there.
Taylor
Taylor.
Charlamagne Tha God
Give him a shout out at least.
Andrew Schulz
Comedian Calamar White.
Charlamagne Tha God
Comedian Calamar White with a bohemian helium. Comedy club. Somebody tell me if this was real. It looks. It looks fake, but I want to know if it was real. I've only seen this clip of it. What else we got there? Let's do some asking idiots, man. Okay. Let's do some asking idiots. MB52 says, if you both got arrested together today, what do you think people would think y' all did? Ooh, that's a good fucking question. What do you think shows if both.
Andrew Schulz
If we both got arrested together today, what do you think people would think y' all did? We both got arrested today.
Taylor
Mm,
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know.
Andrew Schulz
I don't think it's anything violent.
Taylor
Yeah, no.
Andrew Schulz
Insider trading, Taxes.
Charlamagne Tha God
The. Would I be doing insider trading for you?
Alex
Got a tip from one of you.
Andrew Schulz
I didn't say what you would do. Yeah, it's what they would think that we did. Charlamagne and Andrew Schultz get arrested. What do you. It's not like we're robbing a bank. It's not like we're beating someone up. Like, what could it be?
Charlamagne Tha God
Lovers quarrel, Dispute amongst each other.
Andrew Schulz
But we can't both get arrested for that.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yes, we could.
Andrew Schulz
Not if we're fighting each other.
Charlamagne Tha God
We're men. They would arrest both of us.
Andrew Schulz
But it's not assault if we're assaulting each other.
Charlamagne Tha God
Huh?
Andrew Schulz
If it's a fight with. We're both throwing punches, it's not assault.
Charlamagne Tha God
But did somebody just saw us and called the police and said two people were fighting?
Taylor
All right?
Andrew Schulz
I could see it.
Charlamagne Tha God
They take us to fucking jail. Mug shots. Andrew shows Charlie and the guy got into a fist fight.
Taylor
He believes something y' all said that was that y' all were playing with and then y' all got arrested.
Charlamagne Tha God
Don't put that out there. Not under this administration. They be like, nope, nope, nope. I thought you was an ally. Okay. Like, hell no. You never know. Okay.
Andrew Schulz
I don't know. I don't know what they would think.
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know what they would think, but I know they would make some shit up.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey, by the way, what we got arrested for? Just going online, seeing what people said we got arrested for would be more entertaining.
Andrew Schulz
That would definitely be more entertaining.
Charlamagne Tha God
Because these do not care nowadays. What is that? Iweah? Don said, Whoa. With half of 2026 passed, what movies and albums have stuck with or stood out to you?
Andrew Schulz
I don't know if this came out in this year, but I just saw Project Hail Mary Fire. Phenomenal.
Charlamagne Tha God
Really? I haven't seen it.
Andrew Schulz
Phenomenal.
Charlamagne Tha God
I haven't seen it. I went to go see Supergirl. Oh, yeah, I saw Supergirl yesterday.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah, I don't know. I heard it. I heard it was not well. What'd you think?
Charlamagne Tha God
I thought it was garbage.
Andrew Schulz
Really? That bad?
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, man. Sucked like Kevin Durant with a fucking candy apple.
Alex
No way.
Charlamagne Tha God
That shit was terrible.
Andrew Schulz
Why did you think it was bad?
Charlamagne Tha God
It just wasn't good. Like, I'll say this, my daughter, my 4 year old, 10 year old and 7 year old liked it with their kids. You know what I'm saying? So all of the action and the flying around, like my 4 year old was like, that was epic.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
And so I didn't even. Couldn't be dad in that moment. I just like, yeah, yeah, it was great. Whispering my wife. That shit sucked. My wife thought it was all right. It was just everything, the plot. Like, just when I was getting on the DC train, just when I was thinking like DC had turned the corner, it's like, ugh, the plot. But you know what, though? They set Supergirl up for failure from the beginning.
Andrew Schulz
Why?
Charlamagne Tha God
Why women should be outraged about how they set up Supergirl. This is how I know. Women don't even care no more. But Superman, right? Pretty good movie. We can say it was a pretty good movie. How do they introduce you to Supergirl? Not her coming in to help Clark defeat some of the bad guys, you know? Not coming in on some super heroic shit where you like, oh, shit. You see what she just did? Like, remember when Captain Marvel came through in Endgame and fucked up the plan? I mean, fucked up Thanos's ship. Supergirl comes in drunk as shit, don't want to take care of responsibilities, left her fucking dog with Superman. So you're like, why the fuck? Who is this dysfunctional motherfucker? And that's how the Supergirl starts. She's still dysfunctional on some Hancock shit. Like, don't really feel like she don't really want to be a superhero. Going to planets where they don't have a yellow son so she can get drunk.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
And then the whole movie kind of revolves around her dog. Like, they show you this ill scene in the beginning where there's this young girl who witnesses her family get killed and she wants revenge. So you're thinking that's what's going to motivate Supergirl to really get shit popping. But it's because when the girl comes to try to get somebody to help her and then, you know, her and Supergirl connect. At some point, one of the bad guys, who needs another ship because his ship got destroyed, comes to steal Supergirl's ship and shoots. Fucking the dog. The dog with a tranquilizer.
Taylor
Oh, no.
Charlamagne Tha God
You don't even care about your dog.
Taylor
I do too.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shoots the dog with a fucking tranquilizer. And in my mind I'm just like, why doesn't Supergirl just take the dog to a fucking planet with a yellow wound? Because when Supergirl's on a yellow moon and she gets poisoned, none of that shit affects her.
Alex
Interesting.
Charlamagne Tha God
But instead she goes chasing after the fucking alien. Like, the shit is just.
Alex
Yeah. So the dog has like three days to live. And so she has to track down these aliens to get the antidote. So the guy, the same guys that shoot with the tranquilizers also carrying the antidote on them. Like the whole plot, it just wasn't enough stakes.
Taylor
Yeah.
Alex
And then they kind of jumped around a lot and I didn't really like.
Charlamagne Tha God
And then you got the backdrop of them. He's trafficking girls.
Alex
Oh, yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
How do you got. How are all of these guys trafficking girls? But that's like a C story in the movie. Yeah, the dog. I gotta go save my dog.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
Like, there was one point where the other girl. I can't remember her name, the one that had the sword, had to remind Supergirl that the girls were still trapped in the fucking cage. This shit is. This shit's so bad it don't even got a post credit scene.
Andrew Schulz
Really?
Charlamagne Tha God
I don't know what James Gunn was thinking. James Gunn don't even.
Andrew Schulz
He didn't make it.
Charlamagne Tha God
He didn't?
Andrew Schulz
No.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's why I did that. Sends me everything I need to fucking know.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah. I mean, if it's James Gunn. Don't miss.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's what I was. I was. I was thoroughly disappointed. He don't miss that shit.
Andrew Schulz
But he's, I guess, the head of all dc, so maybe he's the one who's like.
Alex
He's like Kevin Feige now.
Andrew Schulz
Yes.
Alex
Like he still has a say in everything that happens, but he's not the one.
Charlamagne Tha God
Well, they should have scrapped that shit. The same way they scrap Batgirl. You know, they put Do a Batgirl. They filmed it and everything.
Andrew Schulz
I did a movie with that girl. Poor girl, man.
Charlamagne Tha God
They should have scrapped Supergirl. That shit was garbage.
Andrew Schulz
That bad.
Alex
Yeah, I wanted to like it, but it wasn't that.
Charlamagne Tha God
She was not good at all, so. Which I don't.
Taylor
Supergirl. Not even Superwoman.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's very true. I don't know what movies and albums.
Andrew Schulz
No, it's Wonder Woman. Supergirl.
Alex
And she's young.
Andrew Schulz
I think they gotta stop. I. I think until women should prove. Why you laughing, bro? I didn't even say it. I didn't say that, man. I didn't say it.
Charlamagne Tha God
Anytime you start to see, they gotta stop women. It's gonna be fun.
Andrew Schulz
No, this is real. Until women prove they care about comic books, they gotta stop trying to make movies for them.
Charlamagne Tha God
I agree.
Andrew Schulz
Women care about, like, housemaids. Like, they want to. They want, like, a hot housemaid.
Charlamagne Tha God
He's right.
Taylor
No.
Charlamagne Tha God
Why you ain't go see Supergirl?
Andrew Schulz
Can I tell you, I didn't even
Taylor
know it was out.
Andrew Schulz
Can I say one thing? Women love, like, a girl who cleans and then a rich guy.
Taylor
We love a man that cleans.
Andrew Schulz
Can I just get it out?
Taylor
Okay.
Andrew Schulz
Can I just get it out? They love a girl who cleans, and then a rich guy. Guy takes interest in them and then makes her rich. That's like the dream movie for women. No matter what the plot is. Is kind of like that, right, Barry?
Taylor
Have one.
Andrew Schulz
Cinderella.
Taylor
No, we have one with maiden.
Alex
Pretty Woman.
Taylor
What was Pretty Woman? Made in Manhattan.
Andrew Schulz
Made in Manhattan. The other maid. The housemaid. The handmade. Everything that works for women is a maid. And that's not even on us. That's on y'.
Charlamagne Tha God
All.
Andrew Schulz
Y' all want to be mates. I don't know what it is.
Taylor
I really don't. But according to crazy.
Andrew Schulz
According to the data, if we don't have maid in the title, y' all won't see it.
Charlamagne Tha God
So maybe you gotta combine the two. Maybe that. Maybe the superhero's alter ego should be a maid.
Andrew Schulz
A maid.
Taylor
Can y' all go see?
Andrew Schulz
Tighten it up.
Charlamagne Tha God
Super Maid would be fire.
Andrew Schulz
Super Maid.
Charlamagne Tha God
Wonder Maid.
Andrew Schulz
Wonder Maid.
Charlamagne Tha God
Iron Maid.
Andrew Schulz
Iron Maid.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying?
Andrew Schulz
These are all movies that women would love.
Charlamagne Tha God
The incredible Maid.
Andrew Schulz
There we go.
Charlamagne Tha God
Mighty Maid.
Taylor
And we're just watching Captain Maid.
Andrew Schulz
What can the girl.
Charlamagne Tha God
Black Maid.
Andrew Schulz
Hey, tell me a whoop. Tell me a movie. Hey.
Charlamagne Tha God
Black made. They already made that, though. It's called the Help.
Andrew Schulz
I didn't want to say it. I didn't want to say it. But you tell me a movie where the woman is a maid and the movie flops. Things that make you say, he got a point. It doesn't happen.
Charlamagne Tha God
And if he don't it sound good. That's the difference in the box. That sound fire. I kind of believe him.
Andrew Schulz
Every movie where the woman is a maid, the women love it.
Taylor
There's something like sexism talk. That's not sexism.
Andrew Schulz
Tell me this, tell me this, tell me this, tell me this. How is it sexism if that's the only movie you watch?
Taylor
That's not the only movie you watch.
Andrew Schulz
Name a movie that's not. You're not a maid.
Taylor
I didn't watch Marvel, though.
Andrew Schulz
Name a movie where you're not a maid. Where you watch it. Name a movie where you're not a maid. Where you watch it.
Taylor
There's a few.
Andrew Schulz
Just name one. Let's start at one.
Taylor
I'm trying to think of certain movies I've seen.
Alex
Damn.
Andrew Schulz
Isn't this crazy?
Charlamagne Tha God
Hold on, hold on.
Andrew Schulz
Y' all want to call me sexist? Can't make one movie when you're not alone.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey.
Taylor
Cause all I've seen you're talking about with women. I've seen a lot more guy movies, so.
Charlamagne Tha God
Hey, this is kind of crazy.
Taylor
I don't know.
Charlamagne Tha God
I googled. I asked Chad GPT Give me some box office numbers for movies with maid in the title. The Housemaid with Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried came. $300,305,000,000.
Andrew Schulz
They're already making it too. Go on, keep going.
Charlamagne Tha God
The help. 213.1 million. Boom. Made in Manhattan.
Andrew Schulz
How much is it?
Charlamagne Tha God
154.9.
Andrew Schulz
Another. Give me another one.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's really all?
Andrew Schulz
No. Oh, that's just with the.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's all you need.
Andrew Schulz
That's what the term. Made in the title.
Charlamagne Tha God
Oh, you're right.
Andrew Schulz
If you want to talk about the plot. Having to do something with a maid.
Charlamagne Tha God
How long. It's every movie.
Taylor
That's not true. Sex in the City. They weren't. No, maze.
Andrew Schulz
That's not a movie.
Taylor
It isn't. They do have a movie.
Andrew Schulz
TV show don't count
Charlamagne Tha God
movies that have maids in the movie. That's true. Mr. Da was a maid.
Taylor
Thank you.
Charlamagne Tha God
And that's a maid.
Taylor
Shut up.
Charlamagne Tha God
It's true, though.
Andrew Schulz
Women loved it because it's a feed in it. Women will not support a movie unless there's a woman cleaning up. If a woman is not cleaning up.
Taylor
What about Barbie?
Andrew Schulz
What about it?
Taylor
There was no maiden Barbie. The woman. The president was a woman, too, by the way.
Charlamagne Tha God
Gotta be a maid in Barbie.
Taylor
No, there wasn't.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yo, this is kind of crazy.
Taylor
There wasn't.
Charlamagne Tha God
Okay. Parasite. Over 260 million.
Andrew Schulz
What does the mom do?
Charlamagne Tha God
Housekeeper. And domestic workers are central to the plot.
Andrew Schulz
Thank you.
Charlamagne Tha God
Shit, I forgot about that. And that rockstar cradle.
Taylor
Come on.
Charlamagne Tha God
140 million.
Taylor
Whenever I sound sexist, it just so
Charlamagne Tha God
happens to be The Nanny Diaries. $48 million. Yo. Spanglish. You know that had to have a maid in it. Working for a wealthy family. $55 million. Wow. It says Hollywood doesn't make many films centered on domestic workers. But the ones that connect with audiences often do very well because they tap into universal themes. Class differences, racial social inequality, family Dynamics. I.
Andrew Schulz
That's ChatGPT being kind and polite.
Charlamagne Tha God
Suspense. From intimate access to wealthy house households.
Andrew Schulz
Women only support a movie where their woman is a maid.
Taylor
That's not true. I just told you, Barbie.
Andrew Schulz
All right. All right, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm gonna tell you something, Taylor. There's something to this. It says, while there have only been a handful, roughly 10 mainstream theatrical movies with maids or domestic workers at the center of the story, four have become major box office hits, suggesting the premise itself isn't a commercial obstacle.
Andrew Schulz
That's your superhero.
Charlamagne Tha God
Dang it.
Taylor
Captain Marvel made one.
Andrew Schulz
Can I just say one thing? A superhero movie. For us, the ideal superhero movie, right, is a regular person that shouldn't be able to do extraordinary shit ends up having superpowers. And they can do extraordinary shit. That is fucking Captain America. Skinny little twink. And then he gets the superpowers. Then he gets to do it. A woman's dream is cleaning shit up and then becomes super rich and doesn't have to clean shit or something. That is.
Charlamagne Tha God
Captain Marvel was the cleanup woman in the end.
Andrew Schulz
What happened? Everything was a mess.
Charlamagne Tha God
Everything was a fucking mess. And she came through, blew the ship up, and she. She really did that.
Taylor
So you're talking about that type of cleanup, then. That's different.
Charlamagne Tha God
I'm just.
Andrew Schulz
Well, yeah, I think that women are smart enough to use metaphors. I think so.
Charlamagne Tha God
Crazy. That's crazy.
Andrew Schulz
Again, again, I. Taylor.
Charlamagne Tha God
I didn't want to agree with him, but I mean, I don't.
Andrew Schulz
You think I want to be right?
Charlamagne Tha God
That was crazy.
Andrew Schulz
You think I want to be right about this?
Charlamagne Tha God
That's crazy, yo.
Taylor
No, it's nothing.
Charlamagne Tha God
Ain't no mages in Supergirl.
Taylor
What about. What's that movie with Zendaya? Dune.
Alex
Oh, Dune.
Taylor
Is that what it is?
Andrew Schulz
Dune? Yeah.
Taylor
Didn't that.
Charlamagne Tha God
She wasn't the star of doing though. She wasn't a woman.
Andrew Schulz
Led me. That's.
Alex
Men.
Andrew Schulz
Men go to see those types of movies. I'm just telling you, every time men try to make a male movie for women.
Taylor
Mamma Mia. Wasn't one. Hunger Games.
Charlamagne Tha God
Mamma Mia.
Taylor
Hello. Hunger Games. She was homemade.
Charlamagne Tha God
There was no. The woman was not a leader in
Alex
the house before she got.
Andrew Schulz
That was her thing. She was a maid.
Alex
Yeah.
Taylor
She wasn't cleaning the house.
Alex
Yes, she was.
Andrew Schulz
Yeah.
Alex
Taking care of her little sister and cleaning the house.
Taylor
Clean the house. You're taking care of her little sister. And she was hunting. That's what she was doing. She was doing a man's work duties, bro.
Charlamagne Tha God
Listen, I never seen Hunger Games.
Taylor
You've never seen any of them.
Charlamagne Tha God
They're making a new one, though. Let's do one more. Brianrolia. 710 says, how many back shots can you take for peace on the earth? Would. Everyone would know.
Taylor
I did not mean to put. Alex, I did not mean to put that in there.
Charlamagne Tha God
I just asked you a question. I don't understand.
Alex
I asked you a question.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, you're asking the room. How many back shots could you take for peace on this earth? But everyone would know, man.
Alex
War.
Charlamagne Tha God
That's crazy. You wouldn't give up your butt for some war for peace.
Andrew Schulz
Wait a minute.
Alex
Wait.
Andrew Schulz
How many back shots will you take for peace? That's not. You can't frame the question like that.
Charlamagne Tha God
How many back shots can you take for peace on the earth?
Andrew Schulz
But they have to frame it like, would you take 100 back shots for peace?
Charlamagne Tha God
He's asking you. He want to know how gay you are. So he's asking you, how many would you take?
Andrew Schulz
So I get to dictate how many.
Taylor
Yes.
Andrew Schulz
Peace.
Charlamagne Tha God
Yeah.
Andrew Schulz
None.
Charlamagne Tha God
So you don't want peace.
Andrew Schulz
No, no, I'm dictating that. We don't even need a back shot.
Charlamagne Tha God
No, no, no. There has to be back shots for you to get peace. But how many back shots can you take for peace on the earth? But everyone would know. One, one, one, one. Just one little piece. You wanna give a piece for piece?
Andrew Schulz
I Think a piece for you. How many would you take?
Taylor
Yes.
Charlamagne Tha God
I gotta see the dick first. So y' all just answered. That's how I know y' all gay. Cause y' all just answered the question.
Taylor
Yeah.
Charlamagne Tha God
You know what I'm saying? Y' all didn't even give a fuck with the.
Andrew Schulz
What does it matter? It's world peace.
Charlamagne Tha God
What does it matter?
Andrew Schulz
You're gonna let your people suffer?
Charlamagne Tha God
I gotta see his peace.
Andrew Schulz
You're.
Charlamagne Tha God
I gotta see his peace. I gotta see his peace for peace.
Andrew Schulz
You don't care about black empowerment.
Charlamagne Tha God
You wouldn't want to see his peaceful peace. To me, you wouldn't want to see his peaceful peace seeing.
Andrew Schulz
Seeing children around the world die, seeing children starve.
Charlamagne Tha God
But those same kids will tease you when they get older. Okay? Those same kids will grow up and will not recognize the sacrifice that you made for them. Those same kids will be like. Like, yo, that's. That's homie. Who took.
Taylor
That's not true. You don't think more kids would probably do it then?
Andrew Schulz
Do what? What are you even saying right? Yo, get out here.
Taylor
Because it was.
Andrew Schulz
Yo, stop the episode. Hey. All right. Let's start the next episode.
Charlamagne Tha God
As always.
Andrew Schulz
Let's go.
Charlamagne Tha God
As always, you listen to this podcast, you think we're smart.
Andrew Schulz
You think we're in touch. Absolutely crazy.
Charlamagne Tha God
But if you listen to this podcast, you think we're just a couple idiots who don't know you're right, too, with the bread. And it is podcast. Thank you for listening.
In this episode of The Brilliant Idiots, Charlamagne Tha God and Andrew Schulz, joined by recurring guests Taylor and Alex, explore the tension between digital dopamine hits and real-life experiences. They discuss Jay-Z’s iconic Yankee Stadium concert series, the phenomenon of nostalgia, the dynamics of parenthood, representation in movies and music, and society’s shifting attitudes toward authenticity and joy. The conversation, true to the show’s name, bounces between irreverent banter and genuine insights on culture, family, and the human need for connection.

The episode features the usual Brilliant Idiots flavor:
“Dopamine Dreams” is an episode about chasing emotional highs—whether as a new parent, a nostalgic concert-goer, or a digital native learning to question the reality of what they see online. By unpacking cultural shifts, generational divides, and the urgent need for real connection, the Idiots layer jokes over moments of genuine wisdom, making it a characteristically entertaining and insightful installment.
