Well, I saw. I pushed our recording back by, like, 30 minutes so I could get a workout in. Yeah, in that 30 minutes, you're like, what if I went to Trader Joe's like that? You. You were crazy for that, first of all.

Well, I was on my way home. I was driving, I was out.

So I popped into TJ's. I'm sweating. Speaking of sweating, I'm not doing natural deodorant anymore. Give me all the aluminum. I'm sorry.

Okay. Trader Joe's. Why does every location. Why do they just pick the most hectic, crammed, ridiculously placed parking lot situation all the time? I've never been to an conveniently located, easy to park at Trader Joe's. And all my days.

St. Louis and Dallas combined, like, both of those.

[Liz]

I mean, there's a reason. And if I ever get in the room where I could ask, that will be one of my first questions. It's got to be something like, kind of like the garage sale effect. You know when it's like you're having a garage sale and, like, you act like you park your cars out front and then you act like your shops. People, like, want to stop at your garage sale. Do you think that has anything to do with it? Like, they're just trying to build the hype. Like, oh, like everyone's always here. This is the best place in the world.

[Kelly]

It's. It's not even that. There's not. I mean, there's never enough parking, but it's also. They're just tight and the rows are tight. And if I ever get in a car accident, first question you need to ask, were you in a Trader Joe's parking lot? And the answer is probably, yeah, I was.

It should be listed on the carfax, like, because then I know the context of the. I'd be like, oh, you know what?

[Kelly]

They.

They probably are a good person. They probably took good care of this vehicle. That one's not their fault.

You know, it's just what this is not. Is like a health and wellness podcast, you know?

No.

And there's plenty of those out there, but they're kind of to the point where, like, I used to listen to some of them and, like, there was some tangible takeaways, but for me, for me now, it's like, you can't rain on every single one of my parades.

And like, you know what? I can't. Like, you just. You can't do it all. And I think you just, like, pick your things and move on with your life. And I'm like. I'm like, I don't know. I'm. I've never. I've never felt convicted. And I pay attention to convictions. Like, if God puts it on my heart, sure. God has not put. God has not put aluminum free deodorant on my heart, personally.

And, well, doing it postpartum, maybe not, was the best idea I've ever heard.

That's crazy. But we're going into the summer, and I just. I. I can't do it. But it. It. To your point, it's. I saw on Instagram and it was like, oh, soda's bad for you. I'm gonna stop drinking soda and I'm gonna drink bottled water instead. Well, bottled water has microplastics. Oh, shoot. All right, I'll go drinking water from my sink. Well, the water from your sink has fluoride or whatever the Hot Topic is that it has. I don't know. And it's just. You can't win.

You can't win. Speaking of things that spike my cortisol.

[Kelly]

Yeah. Your transition.

Funniest new thing to say.

Yeah. Like what a cortisol spike. Like, I just love we. I know we're not really doing, like, millennial words of the day anymore, but I saw the funniest thing, and it was like, unfortunately, my body can't be canceled between being held at gunpoint and, like, giving my daughter a bath.

Yeah. Yeah.

[Liz]

Like, just so funny. My new favorite thing, my new favorite, like, Internet trope is like, heaven forbid a girl have a hobby.

[Kelly]

Yeah.

And I originally saw this on one of the Mormon wives Instagram. It was Taylor. And she was like, you know, people mad that, like, I, you know, started all of the drama and someone commented, be like, heaven forbid you have a hobby. It's like, she doesn't. It's so funny.

Yeah, that's a good one.

[Liz]

It's so, like, that's just like. Oh. Like. And so anyway, I've decided because I think as women, we're always like, what's our hobby? Like, do we fish? Do we play golf? Like, I don't know what we do. We don't do boy stuff. Like, what do we do? My hobby is getting up, getting out, and getting a fabulous coffee and iced coffee. Like, that's just my hobby.

Yeah, and that's why you enjoy.

[Liz]

Why isn't that a hobby? Why isn't that a hobby?

Yeah. Well, and you know what I think also is women's hobby? And it's, you know, making our house look nice and decorating our house. And so it's like, oh, you went to Target again. You went to Home Goods again. What's this Amazon box? It's my hobby. I'm enjoying myself. I'm making our home beautiful, and I'm gonna get a nice coffee while I do it. And how much did your tea time cost?

Well, because hobbies cost money.

Yeah.

[Liz]

I mean, a free hobby doesn't, but I'm not even comparing myself to, like, free hobbies. So shopping's a hobby. Cooking's a hobby. Online shopping's a hobby. I have hobby. I'm a girl with hobbies.

We are girls with hobbies.

We're girls with hobbies. So, yeah, let me pull up my dump, because I actually have been, like, kind of dumpity doing lately.

Oh, my gosh. I know. I'm so mad at myself because I've been wanting to talk about this for five ever and weeks. Months ago, we recorded an intro, and then, like, we recorded like, a portion of a podcast, and like, that footage got bad or whatever and we never re recorded it. And I talked about something on that, like, lost footage that I been meaning to bring up.

[Liz]

And it's not, it's like, not like it's not that good. But it says inso. It is good. It says Instagram account of this woman.

[Kelly]

Who is on a journey to lose £200.

[Kelly]

Oh, you know, I remember her.

Okay. I find nothing more inspiring than people who have to. The people who are undergoing like a drastic, dramatic lifestyle change, weight loss. And they're documenting us from every step. Like, she is so inspiring to me and she's just sharing it all. It's like what I love about the way she has her content, which I hope someone sends us across her desk. I feel so creepy even talking about it, but like she doesn't. She, she puts it all out there, which is like sometimes what we want from our creators. Like, don't get me wrong, like I get like privacy and stuff like that. But, but she's just. Any question you have, she's giving it to you.

[Kelly]

Yeah.

[Liz]

And it just feels like such transparent. She's down 80 pounds and she just like shows these like little like non scale victories. Like she just said that she just went to Arizona and before she started her weight loss journey, like she could never buy a T shirt at a souvenir shop because they didn't have a size big enough for her. And like now she just was able to buy her first souvenir shirt. Like it's an on scale victory.

[Kelly]

Yeah.

[Liz]

So inspired.

[Kelly]

So inspired. Well, and a smaller Sam PCOS is all the proof you need to know that that type of content does well and people are invested smaller. Sam has like over a million followers.

[Liz]

People really like to see a journey and you know, it's. I don't know, like there's like this big controversy. I don't know if you do know who Remy Bader is.

[Kelly]

Yeah.

[Liz]

So like she's kind of under some heat and some fire because she's the one who used to do like those realistic hauls. Have you ever seen her?

[Kelly]

Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about.

[Liz]

She used to do these realistic calls and like she's just always struggled with her weight and body image. And I, I followed her like semi closely, like probably, I don't know, two years ago. And then I like totally stopped. Then I deleted Tick tock and like never saw her again. But during that time, people, people kept like trying to talk to her about body positivity and she was, she was very open. Like, no, I'm not body positive. Like, I don't like my, like, I'm sure Like, this is something that I really openly struggle with. So I think somet. But I think her following maybe got a little confused because it's like she was doing these realistic hauls. But, like, she. She didn't feel like she was like, body positivity person. Like, she was uncomfortable in her own skin. Anyways, then she started, like, losing a lot of weight. And I guess she, like, didn't tell her followers until, like, later that she had undergone weight loss surgery, which I don't even know. I don't really don't even know what the surgery entails. And then she went on Khloe Kardashian's podcast to, like, reveal that people were really mad.

[Kelly]

So maybe had she. Because I. I agree. I used to watch her on Tick Tock and then I deleted Tick Tock. And then she recently came across and I was like, whoa, she looks drastically different. She lost a ton of weight. And maybe had she been more open and not try and. But it's. It's hard because it's like you also respect people's privacy. But, like, yeah, I can see how people were confused that.

[Liz]

Well, to give, like, to give. To be devil's advocate. And then I'm going to tell you what my opinion is on just the entire situation in general. People felt like you were. You weren't being transparent about the journey. And some people were like you were lying. Like you weren't telling us what you were doing.

[Kelly]

And they feel.

[Liz]

And some people feel like, you know, you built a platform on being like a plus size girl and now you're not. And people, like, people. People don't like that. Like, they hold on to that.

[Kelly]

No.

[Liz]

I feel like I am just not in the business of hating people.

[Kelly]

Mm. Mm.

And I just. I don't think, like, I think you can just. I think like, all the energy and the hate that's going towards her is just, like, kind of mind boggling to me that people care that much. Like, to be completely honest, like, don't. Like, you can have your opinion on it, but, like, are you. You're not losing sleep over that, right?

[Kelly]

Yeah. Right.

[Liz]

Like, are you literally losing sleep over that? That's crazy.

[Kelly]

Yeah, that's like.

[Liz]

That's crazy to me.

[Kelly]

Yeah. Yeah, my. I agree. I'm not mad. I don't care necess. I mean, I'm happy for her if that. If she's happy, then I'm happy. Yeah. For someone to see that and be, like, offended by it or. Or think that you're entitled to and that it's a slippery. It's a slippery slope because you share so much and you're very vulnerable, and then you don't share something. And everyone feels entitled to knowing that now. And I'm not saying that's right, but I'm just making an observation.

Oh, I. Yeah, that's how her audience feels. And again, you gotta remember, and this is what Tick Tock's really toxic about is people love a common enemy. Like, that's. It's community. These people who don't have a community, like, that's their sense of community. Like, oh, now we all hate this girl. It's kind of.

[Kelly]

It's very.

[Liz]

It's honestly kind of crazy. I think her biggest hurdle moving forward is. Is, though, like, I don't really know what content you make from here.

[Kelly]

Yeah, yeah, I would. I would agree.

[Liz]

I did. So that's where I feel like.

[Kelly]

Well, because now she's. Now she's really famous and she has, like, famous friends, and she's not doing the, you know, can't do the same realistic hauls. They're not going to attract the same audience. And so who are you catering to? So that's just. Yeah.

[Liz]

So that's just tough. And I think, like, you could apply that to. To so many types of influencers. Like, if you stop making the content that you got famous for, then you have to have a level. Understand, like, these people followed you for X, and then if you're not giving them X anymore, they, like, they might not want to follow you anymore. Which also is fair. It also is fair. Like, if they wanted to see someone do realistic hauls with their body type. And now you're not.

[Kelly]

They don't. Yeah, they can unfollow you, then.

[Liz]

Yeah.

Beautiful thing to watch. Like, she recently did this one, and she's like, what I used to eat in a day before I started my weight loss journey. And, like, it was jarring. It was like 5,000 calories a day. And, like, she shares it. Like, she's like. She is every. She's amazing.

So if you just, like, Want us, like, and I, I know she's gonna get there. Like, I'm so excited. But see, I'm also so, like, I just, I'm so invested.

And she's so cute. She has the best smile. Like, I just can't stop.

I know. She, her, her feet is just like, she just looks honestly, like a good energy.

That's been one of my, like, just favorite. And I sometimes just like, like to follow. It's just someone I have found straight up inspiration with, you know, can't even, like, relate to the content, but just inspired.

Yeah. Anyway, and speaking of losing it kind of maybe let me just tell you something. The garage working out is working.

So I spoke a couple episodes ago. I. We, like, have a place to work out in our basement, but that's hard with all the, like, if the kids aren't home, sure, go down there. But when the kids are home, like, I never really hacked working out with the kids being home. And, you know, I've seen the moms be like, you can get it done with the kids. No excuses. Like, and they're like doing squats with their toddler on their back. I never really bought into that, to be honest, but I want to, like, move my body more intentionally. And I'm also trying to not spend so much time scrolling on my phone. So, like, if I'm out in the yard with the kids, I found. If I put 8 pound weights in my. In a quilt in my garage. And I have my little Peloton app or my Madeline Moves app, whichever, you know, I'm doing, I can get it done. Now is it a 45 minute? Did I stretch after it? No, I'm going to be honest, I didn't. Maybe I'll do it before bed. Like, it's not like the best workout ever, but, like, it's something.

Yeah.

And if I do a little. A lot, like, it will move the needle, right?

[Kelly]

It will. It will for sure. There was. There's a girl I follow actually. I went to college with her. Her Instagram is lively girl fitness, and she has four kids. Or she's pregnant with her fourth or she's pregnant with her fifth. She's got a lot of kids, so I think she's pregnant with the fourth. Anyway, she was always like the fitness girl in school. Like, she's got an awesome profile. And what she would post is, she's like, when you put your kids in the car before you get in the driver's seat and like, no one is on you, do 10 squats, do 10 push ups on your car, and it's just. It's something. And it's movement and it's routine and it's something.

I do calf raises when I brush my teeth.

[Kelly]

Oh, yeah. I'll do like squats or calf raises when I brush my teeth. Yeah.

[Liz]

Yeah.

[Kelly]

I used to do a minute plank before bed, but I don't really know how. I don't really know what we're supposed to do with our abs after having babies. Like, they're like, don't do these types of ab workouts. And I don't want to hurt anything. And so I just kind of am not.

I'm not in the business of ever needing to have abs again, to be honest with you. I mean, I never really had abs.

[Kelly]

Oh. I'm in the business of that.

Really.

[Kelly]

Yeah. I would like to have abs again. I mean, maybe not for several years, but.

Yeah. Yeah. It's so interesting. I just don't know, like, when. Since we had. Since I had kids, so. I mean, four kids in five and a half years. Like, that's kind of. That's like a decent amount. I would say it's like a lot. Do you sit when Libby is 18 months old, that will mark like the longest I haven't been pregnant.

And I'm like, Who am I? 24 months? PP I don't know. I can't wait to meet her.

Yeah, no, that's really. That's really interesting. And just to be clear, like, I am not having any more babies. Like, you have to just. Tyler has. Tyler has cut me off in a permanent kind of way. So. But I. I don't think. I think I will have. I don't know, I'm gonna get over it. I'm gonna get over it. Mom. I called mom and she's like, yeah, that doesn't last. And I'm like, okay, cool.

Oh, it was like that bad of baby fever. Like, you called Mom.

I was just like, I'm having baby fever. Like, I don't know, which is crazy.

And she asked me, she's like, well, were you with any of your kids when it happened? And I'm like, no. She's like, oh, well, yeah. Yeah, go spend some time with your kids.

Anyway, Cal, I feel like we have to talk about something. And maybe we're like, maybe I'm fast forwarding a little bit to industry news, but I just think, like, everyone wants to know the car mom's full blown reaction to the 2026 Hyundai Palisade.

[Liz]

Sure. So first things first, like, when a car. This is like a major redesign in my field. Like, of course I love the Palisade, but whether this would be like, I mean, I had equal as much hype about the traverse and the pilot and like, whenever we have like a major redesign like this, like, rocks my world. And I really look at, like, not just a facelift. Like, even the Atlas was great, but it was a facelift. Like, this is a overhaul.

[Kelly]

Overhaul.

[Liz]

Like, she could have gone on like an Instagram journey and vlogged it. Like, she's had work done a ton of work.

[Kelly]

Done a ton of work. She went on a journey. Yeah.

[Liz]

She's unrecognizable. She's unrecognizable. I wasn't expecting all of it and I got all of it. So for 2026, the palisade has added a hybrid, which right then and there, if I'm Chevy, I'm quaking. If I'm the Traverse, I'm quaked. I'm quaked.

If I'm the haunted pilot, I'm quaked.

It's a huge move.

It's money moves. It's huge. So they do that. They add the car seat tilt, which feels amazing. Which feels like they did it for me. I know they didn't.

But it does just give me, like, a little bit of in. The same thing happened when, like, the traverse added the middle head restraint. I was just like. And they were. Chevy was a little bit more obvious about, like, they were excited to show it to me. So, like, maybe, maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. But it does just make me think, like, we are really. And by we, I mean all of us. We kind of are being heard. Like, I just really can't believe how much family cars have improved since I've started doing this. Like, even if I look back, like, even though I didn't know what I know now back in 2020, if I look at, like, used 2020s and 2019s, just like the minor changes that we've seen in these. In the redesigns, like, I'm trying to think of, like, if anyone, like, oh, the Sequoia flopped redesign.

Like that. That one was. Felt like no families were in the room when that happened, but everything else has been pretty freaking stellar.

So anyway, functionality wise, she's beautiful. Starting, like, I. I feel good. You know, I wasn't really expecting, like, the bench to be available in all trams. I wasn't expecting them to take it down to two seats. I feel like they did enough. Let's get into exterior.

I can't. To the brown. The gold. The gold. Like, I don't like the bronze and I don't think that should be their flagship color. I think we should all go back to when we were doing blues. I think that was just, like, more palatable for everyone.

[Kelly]

I think the brown. I think truly, two years ago, I would have loved the brown. I think the brown's on its way.

[Liz]

And it's just. It's too. I know, but, like, that's all the press photos are going to be like. That's what the press car colors. Like, I'm just boredom.

Give us. I think it's like a green. It's like a green. I don't know. I mean, Hyundai doesn't, like, kill colors, if I'm being honest, which. I actually had an idea for a podcast segment the other day. I want to say, like, the best colors of specific cars, because I can't stop thinking about that avocado green Atlas. And now we've kind of been like, okay, yeah, it's not bad. Like, okay, it kind of looks like a Ford flags, but we're gonna move on with our lives. So justice for the Ford Flex. Like, all people do is compare her. Like. Like, it's. It's, like, not nice to be compared to a Ford Flex.

And she didn't deserve that.

No, she didn't. Okay, here's my thoughts on the exterior. It is. It's softer than I thought it was gonna be. So I'm happy to see that. The grill. I'm not offended by it. Like, I think it's fine. But personally, I think the current grill is, like, very iconic. And, like, anytime I see that grill from a mile away, I can tell that it's a Palisade. And maybe I'll feel that way when I see this one, because I don't think that there's a lot on the road like it. And I think it's fine. I'm. I'm fine with it. The. I'm fine with it. I'm not upset.

[Liz]

She's fine with it.

[Kelly]

I'm fine with it. The interior looks also beautiful, to be expected for a Hyundai.

[Liz]

That is the same. Those, like, three lines is the same thing that's on the Santa Fe. What is that? Are they, like, gonna, like. Why isn't the Hyundai logo right there?

Go to. Go Google a Range Rover steering wheel. I think that's what they're trying to. I'm not saying they're trying to be Range Rover, but, like, it kind of, like, giving, like, brand agnostic almost.

I guess. Okay, I guess I'm with you. I don't really get it.

So huge news. Very excited. We can expect them to be on the lots or for sale. Maybe not on the lots, but on sale in the summer.

So I feel like, when's the first job event? Are we going to get invited. Hyundai.

I'm feeling a little bone picky with Hyundai because they didn't invite us to the Palisade reveal.

[Kelly]

No. That's tough. Which then that further makes me believe that you had nothing to do with any of the changes that they made. Whoa. Why wouldn't they invite? Do you think it's because you openly say, I don't like to go to events?

[Liz]

Well, I like to be.

[Kelly]

Totally.

[Liz]

I could have sent someone, like, come on. For a major reveal like that. Like, I would have gotten a planner. I would have sent someone. I would have gotten the exclusive content. Like, I have to do a freaking green screen. Like, I'm like, it's rude. It's rude.

[Kelly]

Totally.

[Liz]

I DM'd them and said that was.

[Kelly]

The 2026 Kia Telluride is also getting a major redesign. I don't know when it's coming out. Probably I would assume soon. I kind of want to go over. Now that we've seen what they did with the Palisade, I want to talk about our predictions for the Telluride.

[Liz]

So here's my prediction. I. If I think way back to when these cars first came out, like, people were gooped and gagged over the Telluride exterior, it felt it was very palatable. It was very mass market, where the Hyundai Palisade, I think, took some growing. People had to grow on that. I think Kia will take a more palatable approach.

[Kelly]

What do you. What does that mean?

[Liz]

I think it will look not as futuristic. I think it'll look a little bit more rugged, more like it would belong in, like, the Toyota lineup.

[Kelly]

I.

[Liz]

Or like, even if, like, they do go crazy, it'll look more like the new, like, like Lexus GX vibe. It'll look more.

[Kelly]

Yeah, I totally agree. It's going to be a little. I think it's really. With the trajectory that the Telluride has had, I would have expected the Telluride to look like the Palisade, this new Palisade that they came out with. But I know it's going to be different because there's no reason to have essentially the same car that looks the same. So.

[Liz]

I agree.

[Kelly]

I think it's going to be a little bit more rugged, off roady, boxier. I anticipate a hybrid. Do you think that they'll do all those big changes?

[Liz]

Yeah, because, like, let's be clear. I bet those cars could probably get built in the same factory. Like, it's the same parts. Like, for sure, I could See them, though, not doing well. I don't know. They should do a hybrid, but then they have like this. Yeah, they'll do the hybrid. I believe they'll do the hybrid because now they have the carnival hybrid. The Sorrento is a hybrid. Like, they'd be selling that, too. Yeah, I think. I think people will like the Telluride better. I think the interior won't be as pretty and I think it'll just give more. But it's very interesting that the Palisade has come off like they're off like a Palisade has an offer. I think it's called, like, the xrt. I don't even know what it's called.

[Liz]

But you've got to remember the expedition wasn't eligible last year and it's eligible this year.

The 25 expedition will be, as is the Navigator. As is the Navigator. As is the telly, the Telluride.

I got a facial today, and I never get facials, but I had a gift card, and I think it's my first facial since being a mom. And when I used to go to facials, I could relax. I would, like, maybe fall asleep. Like, it was this very nice thing because I knew that I was just exactly where I needed to be and that was to treat myself. Yeah, getting a facial as a mother is not fun. My mind was racing the entire time. I was like, what am I going to make for dinner? Okay, what groceries? What grocery store is closest here? And what I'm going to make. I don't want that. That sounds like a lot of work. Am I a bad mom for. My kids are in day hair right now, and I'm getting a stupid facial. Why can this chicken on the road? I know I booked the 80 minute one, but, like, can we get to the. The good part? Like, stop just touching my face. This is just like my internal dialogue for 80 minutes.

So I wish I could tell you, like, don't feel that way. And I'm. Yeah, I mean, don't feel that way. But I am very similar in terms of, like, self. Like, when I get a massage, I keep my phone with me because I like to know how much time I have left. Like, I could. Then I can relax. No, I do. No, I do. And I'll be. Because I don't want to guess, like, has it been 20 minutes? So do I. I won't do that. And not that I get massages often, but, like, I will. I want to know. I want to know.

[Kelly]

Why do I feel like they would yell at me if I brought my. I didn't think bringing iPhone was an.

[Liz]

Normally. Normally I do. Today I decided, no. No.

I'm a freaking nightmare. I'm a nightmare. I like to talk. I don't need to fall because I won't fall asleep.

It's awkward. I don't know. I didn't. I did not say a word. Wasn't the vibe didn't feel like it.

[Liz]

A facial feels different.

Well, because your, like, mouth is covered and stuff.

But yeah, no, I think that's par for the course.

Yeah. I just, it was the first time I realized I'm like, no, this is not. I have so much I could be doing right now and this feels like a massive waste of time.

Yeah. But I don't know what that's about. I wish I had. I wish I had an answer, but. Well, I told them.

I told mom this because I called her and she was like, yeah, I know. She's like, that's why I never really got massages or, you know, would go get my nails done or anything because it was just like, felt like such a waste.

[Liz]

Yeah, but you had a gift card.

[Kelly]

But I had a gift card and I'm happy I went. My skin's.

[Liz]

And maybe it's also like you have like, since you're. Because you already don't want to do it. Like, you would have never spent your, like, own money on it. So maybe we need to be like giving more like spa gift cards to moms. Like just force them to do something.

[Kelly]

You know what? I would have. You know what? I think we should act. I agree, but like a med spa. Like, I don't need an 80 minute her like rubbing my face and gua shua ing my face. I need like a 20 minutes lights on. I want a. I want the chick to have a magnifying glass on my pores and like a bright light. And I want a girl Like, I want a laser girl. Like, I want it to be productive and I want it to be quick and I don't need to relax.

[Liz]

For the record, I I to give an update on the laser now. It's been two weeks. I don't think it did anything.

[Kelly]

[Liz]

Do you think my skin looks exceptionally good?

[Kelly]

It doesn't look any different to me, in my opinion.

[Liz]

Yeah, I know. But you know what I am going to go spend some good money on today.

Spray tan. Not money. Like a spray tan always worth the time and the money and the effort. A spray tan, like, makes everything else better.

[Kelly]

It's quick. You get immediate results, nearly immediate. And the results are good. And it feels good.

[Liz]

I talked on the podcast how my next journey is. I'm going to buy and I'm going.

[Kelly]

To do it for all of us.

[Liz]

I'm going to buy a spray tan, get up, and I'm going to make Tyler learn to spray tan me.

[Kelly]

Yeah, I Don't know if you told everyone that, but I think you actually have. Wasn't it Tyler's idea to learn how to do it?

[Liz]

Yeah, because Tyler started putting on my press on nails that I get because it's hard. I can do my left hand, but it's hard to do my right hand.

He puts your nails on for you?

[Liz]

Yeah. So you know what? And it's good. It's good. This sounds so stupid. Like, it's good, like bonding time and like it feels good for, like, him to like. I don't want to say it's like intimate because that sounds disgusting, but, like, it's a good, like, do this for me.

[Kelly]

Mm.

[Liz]

Like, it's. I guess it's kind of intimate.

[Kelly]

There it. As parents, you. Your partner does, like, does things for you, but by helping take things off your plate, it feels so. It's like, will you watch the toddler? So I get the joy to go to the grocery store. You know, it's very rarely is it this like 1 off, 1 to 0 trade off where it's like, I'm sitting down and I'm doing this for you so you don't have to and you're not then going to also do a different chore that I'm not doing. So I could see how in that. That builds over time and that's just your daily life. So I could see how this one little. Just put them on your right hand and it's. I could see how that's sweet.

[Liz]

It's like, I could see it. It's a moment for us. It really.

[Kelly]

It's like, it's like your partner massaging your feet.

[Liz]

Yeah.

[Kelly]

They're getting nothing for it. You're getting all the enjoyment.

[Liz]

You're doing something for me. It's like that. Did you ever say thing that went viral on the Internet? And it's like that husband who learned how to do his wife's hair because she, like, her wrist started hurt and she couldn't do it. So he's like. It was like an, like an old guy, like an elderly man goes to a hair salon, like, learn how to blow out his wife's hair. Anyway, I don't. I mean, that's like the energy that I would like, tell her to exude. So when he was like, I could give you a spray tan, he's like, like, can't you just like. And he thought I had someone spray me. He doesn't always, like, go to the versa and just like, do my best. So I think it's gonna Be fun for us.

[Kelly]

I think so too.

[Liz]

I hate anyone has, like, I have done a little bit of minor, like, type it into tick tock and like, see the kits. Research. But if anyone has like the real, real stuff, like, direct links would be appreciated. And I'm gonna do it.

I. I love that. I also saw on Instagram this couple who just like, with the prices of everything nowadays, they were like, where can we save money? And they're like, we are spending so much money to get our hair cut. So she learned how to cut his hair and he learned how to cut her hair, and they give each other haircuts.

[Liz]

See, that's awesome.

[Kelly]

I won't do that because I will absolutely screw it up. I just. I don't have the. I do not have the execution for something like that. Well, but I think that's cute.

[Liz]

I've seen that. And you know, like George, Fred and Tyler, they get their haircut every five weeks. So, like, that adds up a bit.

[Kelly]

Yeah.

[Liz]

So I. Yeah, I can't. In the same way that I. Yeah, we're saving enough money with Tyler putting on my nails. Like, I can't. I'm. I won't be good at that.

[Kelly]

No, you can't. You can't. You can't do it all. And you have to know what you're going to be good at. And I know, I know I'll screw that up.

[Liz]

This is so funny. This is so funny. I haven't even told you this. So Tyler wanted to do something with Hattie because it just. It's always default. Like, he's taking the boys and like, I'm taking the girls. And he picked up on the fact. He's like, I'm gonna take Heidi to get her nails done. I was like, no, no, I'll take her. But also, Tyler don't want to be alone with Libby, so he would rather take Heidi to get her nails done than be alone. Like, he just. He's not. He. Libby just freaks him out. Tyler's not a baby guy. He's the best. Tyler is the.

Tyler is the best kid. And like, anything the kids want to do, we're doing it. He's scared of babies, even his own.

Like, he won't be alone with Libby. So I'm like, okay, fine. Like, you take Hattie because I don't want to take Libby and Hattie to the nail salon to, like, do this. We've had been asking for forever. Paula's like, I'm gonna take her. Okay. They go, she Comes back, got a mani pedi. I'm like, oh, like, okay. I would have probably just like done the one, but yeah, go off like, you're so kind. And I was like. He's like, it was $70. And I'm like, what do you mean it was $70, Tyler? I'm like, is this gel?

He got gel and he got a full bl.

Like I would have walked her in there and said, girl needs a polish change. Like you just go for a polish change.

She's a four. That's on the nail salon. Who gives a four year old gel?

You didn't tell me. And I like, I honestly thought that the nail salon would be like, just assume a polish change on a four year old and then maybe that and I will take some responsibility. But I'm like, they looked at you like a blank chat.

Yeah.

And they were like, do you want gel or regular? What is Tyler gel or what? I mean, what does Tyler know?

[Kelly]

He says, what's what lasts?

So let's be clear.

I have ten dollar press ons that dialogue puts on me and how he's rocking a 70 mani petty. I'm like, you $70, Elizabeth. I'm like, sick. I am sick to my stomach over it. It's like he put money and lit it on fire. I'm sick to myself.

So like now she has to go back to get the gel, like removed.

[Liz]

I'm sick to my stomach about jealousy.

[Kelly]

She's just gonna come off in the back.

[Liz]

You know the feeling when you like lose 50 bucks or like you lose 20, like you just lost the cash. Like one time I got. I remember one time I got my wall. I lost my wallet in Detroit. Do you remember this? We were going for an event and I had like a 200, like Nordstrom gift card that. Because I had like return shoes and like I still have a pit in my stomach over because it's like, it's just burnt money. And I think I will be like, like there's like wasting money. Like, oh, like, you know, that wasn't worth it. I'm just, I'm not one to waste money. Like, even if I buy something maybe I didn't need or like let like a, you know, some lettuce go bad. It doesn't feel like Pittsville usa. Like, I feel like my daughter walking around with a 70 mani.

No, I did gel on her toes.

You have to, like, take her back for another one to remove all of it.

I don't know what we're gonna do. I was like, did they put her hand under a light or just a fan? He's like, yeah, they, like, put under a light. I'm like, oh, my gosh.

Oh, great. So that's gonna last several weeks.

[Liz]

Yeah. Yeah. So all's to say, let's get into dish the drive thru, where we should give you an easy dinner recipe to mix it up to get you out of your dinner rut.

[Kelly]

I have one.

[Liz]

Good. What do you have?

[Kelly]

Excellent one.

[Liz]

Oh, edge of my seat.

[Kelly]

So chicken sandwiches. Oh, hold on.

[Liz]

We dibble. We dabble.

[Kelly]

Hold on. So I got chicken breasts. And I was so inspired being at your house the other day when you just marinated chicken breasts and Italian dressing, because I forget. Yeah, that was.

[Liz]

That was inspiration station.

[Kelly]

So I did that. And I only marinated. I only marinated them for, like, 30 minutes. Like, I tell everyone.

[Liz]

Tell everyone, like, exactly how to do it, just in case they have questions.

[Kelly]

Here's exactly. Okay, I'm gonna tell you exactly how to do it. I bought chicken breasts. I got a plastic bag, a gallon plastic bag, and I just poured great value Italian dressing.

[Liz]

Yeah. Doesn't matter.

[Kelly]

Doused it. What I then did was I hammered the breasts so they would be thinner.

[Liz]

Hold on. Not before. Before you put it in.

[Kelly]

Oh, well, because I used a hammer. I used a hammer. Hammer. I hammered it in the plastic bag. Then you don't have to.

[Liz]

What?

[Kelly]

Was I gonna put a hammer in my dishwasher?

[Liz]

You could have broken the plastic bag.

[Kelly]

But. But did I.

[Liz]

Okay, I don't advise that.

[Kelly]

I do advise it. I do it all the time. Never. Never popped. Pop the bag.

[Liz]

That's crazy to me. You're supposed to do parchment paper and then hammer it and then put in the bag. You freaking weirdo. You're hammering the bag.

[Kelly]

I am. Streamline. Cut out the middleman. That is the parchment paper. It's fine. I. I did it literally in the garage at the. At the workbench with a hammer. Hammer. Flatten it out, let it marinate for as long as you want. Probably up to, what, 24 hours or so. Yeah, that seems long, but I don't think it's really.

[Liz]

Like three hours is great.

[Kelly]

Yeah, three hours is great. 30 minutes got the job done. Then I threw them on the grill and cooked them till they reached the internal temperature of 165. Then I took some buns. I put. I also made bacon Cheese and then pickles. And I did a combo of mayo and mustard on it. And the combo of mayo and mustard was, like, really, really, really good.

[Liz]

The fact that you did that instead of chick fil A sauce is seems.

[Kelly]

Oh, I don't. I didn't have chick. I didn't have chick fil A sauce, and I didn't miss it. I loved the mayo and mustard combo, and it was excellent.

[Liz]

Well, I'm inspired.

[Kelly]

It was really good.

[Liz]

Yeah. It's like, it's a burger, but it's a chicken.

[Kelly]

It's a good take on just having a whole chicken breast. It's the easiest way to eat a whole chicken breast, in my professional opinion. And my husband was very happy about it. And had I had. I had a child that would eat protein that I made, I'm sure he would have been happy about it too.

[Liz]

Well, we one time got a comment that, like, we eat so much beef and pork and, like, why don't we need chicken? And Elizabeth and I historically don't really like chicken. I can do. But I can do chicken sandwiches. I just, like, I can't do a breast. Like, I just can't do even. Like, I can do Sam's. The crispy baked chicken thighs. Like, those are good.

[Kelly]

I like chicken thighs.

[Liz]

I like chicken thighs. I just. I. I struggle with just a straight up breast.

[Kelly]

I struggle with the straight up breast, however, doing this marinade and then grilling it. Like, I had some pieces that fell off and I had to eat just, like, just breast. And it was juicy and it had flavor and it was really good. And it's probably the only way to do chicken. You won't catch me baking a chicken.

[Liz]

Oh, that's insane.

[Kelly]

Insane.
