For the first time in over a thousand episodes, I'm sitting down with my girls, Gabrielle, Eliza and Madeline. And just like that, here they are. It's just so fun to have them here and let you be a part of, like, a normal conversation, what it's like to just be chatting with them. In this episode, we talk about everything from caviar to our cats to watching Kardashians to what they think about phones, school stress, celebrity crushes, living in LA versus Florida. Plus, you're going to hear their honest take on my parenting, on manifesting, on what it means to have good energy and what they want in their own lives and what they want their lives to look like when they get older. It's funny, it's sweet, it's messy and completely unfiltered. You're going to feel like you're right here on the couch with us, so I think you'll really enjoy it. Here we go.

Here's what I love about you. You plan your pool days around your blowout. You're like, this is only two days. So I think I need to wait because I love that you're nine, but you're just like, I need my blow dry to be up there in the priority list. Okay, beach or pool?

Okay, let's talk about your sunburns, though. Oh, how many times have you been like, no, I can't go to school tomorrow because wasn't wearing sunblock yesterday. True or false?

Yeah, it was only like twice. Really bad though.

But so bad. Remember when we were to cut your shirt off of you? You, like, literally couldn't even have the cotton of your shirt touching your back. I know. And low key, like, me too. Oh, my God. Yeah. Your yad says that the first time I went to a dermatologist, first time was like a year ago. And he goes, you're gonna walk in and the doctor's gonna go hold my calls. Like he thought I was gonna have like a million things on me. Thank God. Thank God I didn't. He goes. He goes, the doctor's going to love you. He's going to call his wife and say, we're putting in a pool. Like, as if they were going to make all this money because I was going to have all these, like, skin issues. Thank God I didn't low key. Like, that's not even funny. But it actually is kind of funny for me. Beach or pool? I'm also pool all day and I. I like a really nice hotel pool.

Which is, oh, let's say the best hotel pool we've ever been at.

three days before we decided to go.

And the only hotel that was available.

It was, like, downpour. It was rain. It was in this, like, golf cart, and it was, like, raining so bad.

It was pouring rain.

Like, raining so hard you couldn't even see three feet in front of you.

Sideways rain. And we wanted sunshine and we wanted to, like, have a Lake Como trip. And what did I say?

Like, to clear the clouds. Like, to pray that the clouds will, like, go away so you can, like, see.

I go, guys, we're gonna manifest sunshine. So I was like, just go with me. I'm like, I know this is gonna sound cray cray. Just let's sit together and hold the consciousness and visualize the sun coming out and what happened.

It's so. And then like 10 minutes later, it's so good.

did the other night. So Maddie loves to say her prayers before she Goes to sleep, which is the sweetest thing in the world. So the other night, we didn't say our prayers before we went to sleep because she fell asleep. So then I turn off the light. Cause we're staying in a hotel, so we're in the same room.

I turn off the light to go to bed, and she wakes up and she starts praying to God, and I go, oh, my gosh. I just. I actually did it. I had prayed over her and me. And she goes, oh, you did it.

I go, you're so cute in the morning. I said to him, like, do you know that you sat up to pray? And then I told you I prayed? And then she's like, oh, okay, as

long as you pray.

Why do you pray before you go to sleep?

I feel like if I don't, like, I'll have, like, a bad dream. And once I didn't pray, I had a bad dream, so I feel like it, like, does something with my dream, so I don't have, like, a bad dream.

Because, like, the night that I had the dream about Bruce Jenner, I didn't.

But anyways, I'm not gonna go into all the details of the dreams, but I will say that what happened with us that we got obsessed with watching the Kardashians.

Yeah, like the other day or like a couple months ago, someone asked me, what did your mom do? And I actually said, I don't know.

A little bit of, like, Jewish. How do you think you are telling someone how to manifest? Do you think you know how to do it? Like, how do people manifest things?

[Eliza]

Like, just like, I don't know if they want something like, like, they can get it from, like, whatever. Like, I feel like they can get it, but don't, like, push it.

[Gabrielle]

But we did, like, just have an experience with, like, me and, like, schools recently. Do you want to explain? For ninth grade, I'm applying to schools, and what's it called? There was this one that you really wanted me to go to, and I didn't want to go there because I felt like.

[Kathy Heller]

It didn't feel like you.

[Gabrielle]

It didn't feel like me. Like, they have a lot of rules and, like, stuff that we don't really do that. Like, I would have to be, like, pretending.

[Kathy Heller]

Yeah. Yeah.

[Gabrielle]

Like, it's just not, like, who we are.

[Kathy Heller]

And, like, I really was, like, too formal.

[Gabrielle]

It was really, like, formal and just very. I just didn't think I was going to like it, but I was like. I was like, fine, like, you want me to go there? Like, I'll go there for you. So, like, whatever. And then I had toured it, so that's why you, like, ended up liking it. And then I went for my interview and my, like, assessment to get into the school, and I went and took my test. I took my interview. I, like. I did my interview. It was, like, 10, 15 minutes. And then I went to this testing room for, like, two and a half hours or something, and they made me do all these tests. And then while I was taking these tests that were, like, so hard and so annoying, I sat down with the

[Kathy Heller]

principal, and she looked at me, and she's like, I'm gonna be really direct with you. She's not a fit. You're not getting in. We're sending out admissions letters next week, but yours is gonna be a no. And I said, you know what? Everything's always happening for you.

[Gabrielle]

I had, like.

[Kathy Heller]

I said, I'm really glad that this is the clarity. You're just giving me the clarity. And what happened five minutes after we left the school?

[Gabrielle]

Wait. But first, I, like, finally, like, accepted my feat, that I was gonna go there. And I was, like, really upset about it, but I was, like, finally, like. Like, I just have to go there because, like, I don't have another option. Because I didn't have another option at that point. And then we left, and then. Well, I don't know how to explain that part, because I don't really know.

[Kathy Heller]

Yeah, but I want to say, like,

[Gabrielle]

that part, like, the part about the school, like, I really didn't want to go there, but I was, like, accepting it kind of. But then. But I knew. I knew, like, in the back of my head that I was, like, upset about it.

[Kathy Heller]

Yeah. But then we went to go get.

[Gabrielle]

And I'm like, thank gosh.

[Kathy Heller]

And then I said, what about this other school? And as soon as I said that, we turn our head and there's these two girls walking with sweatshirts from the other school that you wanted to look at. Yeah. And one of the girls walks over and she goes, gabby? And I go, you know her? She goes, yeah, I know you from third grade. She had remembered you from when we lived in Florida for, like, a minute. And she's like, you should totally come check out our school. And then she said, wait, I want to invite you to something tonight. And then you went with her to a thing that night, and it was just, like, all happening at the right place at the right time.

[Eliza]

I toured the school, and now I

[Gabrielle]

can't even go to that school. I mean, the one I didn't want to go to.

[Eliza]

Right.

[Kathy Heller]

Because have we ever had another experience where we've been together and we manifested something?

[Madeline]

Didn't you, like, do the thing with

[Eliza]

Kim on the train?

[Gabrielle]

I sound.

[Kathy Heller]

Wasn't that crazy? Yeah. So Kim and I. I was supposed to speak. I did speak in San Diego, and Kim and I waymoed to the train station, and we got there three minutes late, and we were running for the train, which was an 8, 10 train to San Diego. We missed the train by a minute. I said to the guy, where's the train to San Diego? He goes, it already left. And so then she and I, long story short, gotten away, got in an Uber, and an hour later, I got an email from Amtrak because they thought I was on that train because I had already had tickets the A10 train. It turned out that the train I didn't get on derailed and was stuck all day and never made it to San Diego. And because I missed it by a minute, I took an Uber and I did make it to speak in San Diego.

[Madeline]

Yeah.

[Kathy Heller]

And that story, we've. I feel like we've had many moments where we're like, oh, my God, this is crazy that we're here right now at this moment.

[Eliza]

Yeah.

[Kathy Heller]

Yeah. That's crazy. So do you feel like you know the answer if someone's like, okay, how do you. How is good energy related to manifesting?

[Gabrielle]

Well, you have to. Like, if you're so negative, then why do you think anything good would happen to you if you have no positive mindset, like, at all? Like, I don't think I really like, manifest things, but I just. I, like, I definitely look at some stuff with, like, a negative energy. But, like, I try not to as much as, like, I probably would.

[Eliza]

I feel like there's a lot of people that we know that, like, don't, like, don't think good about themselves. Like, they don't. Like, they want all.

[Gabrielle]

You know, a lot of people, they

[Eliza]

want to manifest, but, like, they're so trapped and. Yeah. And they don't know that the way to manifest is not what they're doing right now.

[Gabrielle]

Right.

[Kathy Heller]

It's like when you have a good vibe. I always say my biggest thing is what?

[Eliza]

Energy.

[Madeline]

Good vibes. You're like, everything is energy.

[Kathy Heller]

You have to look. You have to be responsible for the energy you bring into the room. I'm always like, yeah, you'll say that. Energy.

[Gabrielle]

But we know a lot of people that just come into a room and are, like, so dark and have such bad energy, and it's, like, so hard

[Kathy Heller]

to be around a lot of people like that.

[Gabrielle]

So many, like, more that are like that than not, probably.

[Kathy Heller]

And they don't realize that they then, like, create their. They fulfill the same, like, whatever negative thing. They think it just keeps happening because

they are, like, going to spiral because,

like, they're bringing that.

[Gabrielle]

Yeah. Crazy. Have you guys liked learning to play tennis this year?

Yeah, I feel like I like it, but only in the afternoon. It's so hot. Because in the morning. In the morning, it's so hot. But when it was, like, winter, it was like.

Okay, that was too cold, though.

What was it like for you guys to live through the fire in la?

[Madeline]

That was scary.

[Eliza]

Scary.

[Gabrielle]

I don't know if it was that scary. Like, when we first got evacuated, it was scary.

[Kathy Heller]

Tell about that night. We had, like, a minute to leave the house.

[Gabrielle]

Yeah, that night, my. It was a random school night, and my friend was over. She was. Or she lived, like, one minute from us.

[Eliza]

They were doing, like, homework.

[Gabrielle]

She just came over because she had no power and she needed to do

[Kathy Heller]

homework because the fire had started, I

[Gabrielle]

think, that morning in Palisade, so. But it had gotten to. It hadn't gotten to us.

[Madeline]

Yeah, we were at school and there

[Gabrielle]

was this big club, but she had no WI Fi to do her homework. So she came over and as we, like, she was sitting in my room and we were trying to do her homework, and then our WI fi went out. Like, our power went out. No power, like, WI Fi. So we were trying to email the dean of our school that we couldn't do our homework. And we were like, I'm so sorry. Like we have no power or wi fi because of the fires. And then her mom called her and was like, are you on our street? Like the name of our street? And then she was like, yeah, and. Cause her mom was out of town and she was like, there's a fire at the end of that block. You have to get out of there.

[Kathy Heller]

We're on a WhatsApp group that there

[Gabrielle]

was a fire in the neighborhood and

[Kathy Heller]

we lived in a cul de sac

[Gabrielle]

and we were like. So her dad came and ran to pick her up and then we left and we had two min to leave. You dropped your phone down the elevator of the house.

[Kathy Heller]

That makes me sound so. An elevator.

[Gabrielle]

Yeah. Okay.

[Kathy Heller]

Loki.

[Gabrielle]

We had three hats of us and we. We grabbed whatever we we could in like two minutes. I ran into my closet, was like throwing random stuff in my bag and we left. I saw my school clothes was going to. And we left our cat inside the house.

[Kathy Heller]

We couldn't find the. For tell what happened. We have.

[Madeline]

We have. We like cats.

[Kathy Heller]

At the time we gave one to my sister. So now we have three. We still love the other one, but she has it. So we had four cats. I said, look for the cats and the fire residents are there.

[Gabrielle]

And I only had a minute.

[Kathy Heller]

And what happened to the fourth cat, Eliza?

[Madeline]

We like couldn't find him and he was. But we lived like five minutes from a fire thing that.

[Gabrielle]

Okay.

[Kathy Heller]

They couldn't stop the fire.

[Madeline]

Yeah, but they stopped it on our.

[Gabrielle]

Like they had no there.

[Kathy Heller]

But what happened when we got in the car and you're like, we missed one of the cats.

[Gabrielle]

I know, but he was okay. Yeah, he missed. But Eliza, he was sitting on the bed.

[Kathy Heller]

You have to go back. And it was. So we walked. We drove away crying.

[Gabrielle]

And then we stayed at our aunt's house for two days. And I literally we. I didn't have anything with me. Like. No, we all slept.

[Madeline]

I was wearing.

[Gabrielle]

Yeah, I was wearing my one night clothes for like.

[Eliza]

Yeah.

[Gabrielle]

And then like a day or two days or something.

[Eliza]

And then the second night that we were there, I got a feedback.

[Gabrielle]

But once we were in San Diego, we felt like really safe and it was fun.

[Kathy Heller]

Yeah. Then we went to our friends in San Diego, but it was insane. Like they took us in.

[Gabrielle]

Yeah. But it was.

[Kathy Heller]

Stayed in their house pretending at their house.

[Gabrielle]

We stayed in it guest house.

[Kathy Heller]

We kept checking, can we come back? We couldn't go back to our house the whole.

[Gabrielle]

No, but it was crazy. We stayed in like a baby place with one bathroom for 10 days and four cats.

[Kathy Heller]

But did you.

[Gabrielle]

There's five of us.

[Kathy Heller]

Do you have PTSD from that? Like, if you smell smoke, do you feel like. Oh, my God.

[Madeline]

Yeah.

[Kathy Heller]

No, she doesn't.

Why are you.

For, like, a little bit. And I was, like, scared to let a cake.

[Eliza]

So we were driving to Will and Piper's house for Shabbat, but you weren't. There was just Daddy and us. So we went, and we were, like, already pulled into, like, their driveway, and we opened the door, and Eliza smelled, like, a lot of smoke. Wait. And.

[Madeline]

Because, like, apparently they controlled controlled fires to, like, burn crops or something.

[Kathy Heller]

Really?

[Madeline]

Yeah. I was, like, freaking out, and I was like, can we, like, go back home? But I ended up, like, sleeping and then.

[Gabrielle]

But you guys have been through a

[Kathy Heller]

lot in your short lives.

[Gabrielle]

Like, you're like, Covid didn't freak us out. Like, because I was.

[Madeline]

No, I was filming Tik Tok.

[Gabrielle]

I was eight. I downloaded Tick Tock and we were, like, fine.

[Eliza]

Like.

[Gabrielle]

Yeah. Like, I was, like, for the beginning, but then after, I was.

[Eliza]

Because I was three and four.

[Kathy Heller]

So it didn't bother you?

[Eliza]

No.

[Kathy Heller]

And it didn't bother you?

I never. I could, like, care, and I, like, I. I was, like, making tiktoks all day. Like, I didn't want to be in school. I was in second grade.

[Kathy Heller]

I think it was harder for kids who were, like, in high school.

[Gabrielle]

Yeah. And, like, kids that missed their graduation and stuff.

[Kathy Heller]

But it was hard, like, socially, because then when you went back to. You went back in fifth grade.

[Gabrielle]

I don't know how to tell time on a clock. Like, I.

[Kathy Heller]

Like, two full years.

[Gabrielle]

I don't know how to do. I can't do division without a calculator. Like, I missed a lot.

[Eliza]

Go ahead.

[Gabrielle]

So about.

[Eliza]

So about the story. Eliza was, like, crying in the car. She was like, I want to go home. I want to go home. And I was like. I was, like, not that scared because I was like, there's no way there's a fire. If it's like, Florida is mostly water. It's always, like, there's a lot of walk around, and it's always like, LA is, like, dry, so I understand.

[Kathy Heller]

Yeah.

[Eliza]

But Eliza was, like, crying, and she really wanted to go home. But I wasn't, like, that scared.

[Kathy Heller]

Oh.

[Gabrielle]

Because I remember that day of the fire. The windiest day ever. Oh, our door flew open. It was insane.

[Madeline]

And then afterwards, I got, like, a rash or something.

[Gabrielle]

He was so dry.

[Kathy Heller]

It was so dry.

[Gabrielle]

Like, it's never been like that.

[Eliza]

Yeah. And I knew daddy was like, he would know, like he would take us home. Yeah, he's like very safe about. And also they would give us like alerts about it on our phone. Yeah. So I feel like, like I wasn't that scared but like I was trying to walk in the lies. I was like, I don't want to

[Gabrielle]

go in, but I do like always double jumped out.

[Eliza]

But we finally walked in and then after we were inside for like 20 minutes, she was fine and she slept over.

[Kathy Heller]

You've lived through so much, like in the last several years between Covid and then the fires and like also there's been like wars in the world. Like when I was growing up in my 80s and 90s, like, I don't know, we didn't have a pandemic. I didn't live through a fire. You know, we didn't have like the same kind of like news cycles all day long where people are just like struck.

[Gabrielle]

But then you have really bad hurricanes.

[Kathy Heller]

Uh, yeah, I lived through one bad hurricane. But it was kind of fun. Like I think we didn't understand how bad dangerous it could be. So.

[Gabrielle]

Yeah, I don't know. You didn't live that close to the ocean, right?

[Kathy Heller]

No, we were more like inland. But I feel like, okay, if you could go back and like tell yourself something that would help you when you were like younger, what would you tell yourself that you now know? Like, what advice would you give your younger self?

[Gabrielle]

Okay, this is like kind of a stupid one, but like we're neutral clothes and don't try to express yourself. Like in my outfit.

[Madeline]

That's the opposite of what you should say. Don't try to express yourself because you don't like the way you dress.

I look back and I'm like, I can't believe that house looking like that.

So, like, when we were living here, like, I had, like, a really scary teacher. Like, that I go. I was, like, really afraid of. And that day I was sick, and I was like, I'm skipped. But I would also say another thing. Like, I wish I didn't skip school because it made my work when I got back more stressful. Like, if I went to another school next year and I actually, like, committed and, like, went to sleep early and didn't skip school, I wouldn't be falling behind and, like, I actually be able to, like, keep up.

I feel like what people don't know is that in my family, from when I was growing up, I was always taking care of everybody.

So, like, you always do that. That's something.

My mom and dad. My dad passed away, but, like, let's say it was like, Hanukkah or Mother's Day or Passover or somebody's birthday. Who's hosting it? Me. You do? Giving everybody gifts. I'm giving everyone else gifts, like, since I was little. So I sort of always play that role, even with my friends. Like, how many times have I gotten my friends and my friends, husbands or my friends, kids, better gifts than, like. And I just feel. I don't know. I always feel like I play that role of, like, I'm there to lift everybody up emotionally, financially. You're getting better. I'm getting better at not being so much.

Still get. Yeah, still get better at it. But you're like.

I feel like the only people that usually get gifts to are like, you want gifts for daddy, but, like, you don't. You can get him, like, you can get him gifts. Mostly us, because, like, we don't return. We don't return. Like, you did the best.

Like, friends, school. Like, I love my school here, but also it just feels depressing there. Yeah, I feel like it's like, it's like peaceful in our house. Like, you love. Yeah, I think even though it's my. Like, it's completely mental. Like, I know it's mental because when we were in Florida, I don't know why, it was just like the way I was thinking. And I know it's like completely mental, but, like, that's just how I think when I'm there. Like, I just get more like, here.

And I honestly think I forgot how to ride a bike. And you're like, you can go swimming and you can play tennis, but that's like.
