It was crazy, but the whole thing is absurd. But it's meant more to be degrading and nasty toward Israel and toward the Jewish people than it is about foreign policy or anything else. Netanyahu is a controversial figure. To people who believe that Israel has a right to self defense, the. And to other people, you just say, yeah, of course, this is what he's doing. I always want to ask people after October 7th, what do they think Israel was supposed to do? The people who are so critical of the war against Hamas in Gaza, what do they think Israel was supposed to do? They still had hostages. These terrorists took hostages who they. Who sexually abused, abused in the worst ways imaginable. Many of them died. Almost all of them died in custody. So they were treated horribly the whole time. This was not active conflict. We're talking about losing people. This was. There are people who are helpless, who are being held, their civilians being held captive. And the savages of Hamas abuse them like the barbarians they are. How do you negotiate with those people? How do you have a conversation with them? You don't. You track them down and you kill them. And that's what any, any government would do, any group would do, any individual would do, faced with the same situation. So I think that this, this constant pretense that the people of Gaza are all the victims. No, they elected a Hamas government that was a terrorist government, that has absolutely no decency ethics whatsoever, is filled with a demonic hatred of Jews in Israel. It will never let that go. And Israel had no choice and shouldn't have made another choice. Right? It's one thing to say you have no choice. Also, this is the choice. Even if there were other things they could have done, they should have done this. So it was the only choice and it was the right choice to wage war against Hamas. Is it Israel's fault? Someone should ask Mamdani this. I would just wonder. He'll cite this thing. Oh, but the genocide. Oh, but it's not a genocide. A genocide is the intentional destruction of a people to kill all of them if you can, as many of them as possible, certainly. But Israel was dropping leaflets. Israel was doing as precise as it could, strikes against the military infrastructure. That Hamas, instead of building up a good society, spent all of its time making bunkers and tunnels and caches of weapons, usually under hospitals and schools and things like that. This has all been well documented. It's also been documented for decades and decades now. This is what Hamas does. This is how These Muslim Arab jihadists fight. This is their view of resistance, and they view it as entirely, not just justified, but praiseworthy. They think this is how they should be fighting. So Mamdani says this is a genocide. And I sit there and just point out it's not a genocide, but there's something very nasty, very odious, unsettling. I need a stronger word than unsettling. I said demonic before. I think that's a. That's a pretty good one. Insidious. There we go. Something very insidious about the mayor of New York City pretending that Benjamin Netanyahu is a war criminal when anybody could sit there and make his argument, I think, look utterly preposterous. Yes, civilians die in war. It is regrettable, it is a tragic thing. Don't start wars that you can't win. They're going to kill a lot of your own civilians. That's the real lesson for Hamas and for the people of Gaza. Don't start wars that you can't win. And don't start wars where you're not even really able to fight back militarily in any meaningful sense. I mean, this is essentially like Gaza or Hamas takes people hostage and then is actively shooting at more people. And then when the Israelis fire back and they kill Hamas, but they also hit some of the hostages that Hamas is holding, they say, see, it's your fault. No, not really. That's not how it works. You're allowed to defend yourself. You don't have to sit there and allow them to continue their campaign of destruction and extermination against the Jewish people. So the whole thing with Mamdani is absurd. But if you're saying it's fashionable right now on the left, fashionable among Democrats, to take this position because they have to elevate some victim group, and it's now time for the Palestinians to be the victim group they all care about. This goes in cycles, I might add. The Palestinians at different periods. Oh, we all are supposed to care so much about their plight and worry about them. No one who ever worries about the Palestinians so much publicly, whether it's Mamdani or anyone else, could tell you why the people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo for the last 30 years have been so much less interesting to the international community, despite the just horrific, actual genocide and mass rape and mass torture and the terrible things that have gone on in the area, that is, whether it's the Central African Republic, the Congo, that whole part of Africa in Sudan, and these Janjaweed militias and all this stuff there's been horrible stuff happening, the Syrian civil war, horrible stuff happening. You have a half a million people, they say right now, the estimates are, have died in the Russia, Ukraine war. And the only thing we ever hear the international community supposedly whining about and really what they mean by this is there's a lot of Muslim states that will go along with anything that blames the Jews for everything. Because you have to remember the Jews set up a state in the Middle east that is far more advanced and sophisticated and intelligent and successful than anything equivalent in any Muslim state. And that hurts. That makes them sad that there's a deep insecurity in the Islamic world about how successful Israel has been relative to, to other states that have been around much longer, with far more people, much larger populations. So there's a really deep seated resentment just from that. And then when you add on top of it, of course, the history, specifically of the state of Israel and Judaism and Islam and that history going back, oh, 1500 years or so, then you have all the makings for what you see, which is just completely irrational and unending hatred from some pretty considerable groups in terms of considerable size in the case of Gaza and elsewhere. But Mamdani doesn't address any of that. He's just trying to say what he thinks is going to make the DSA crowd, the Democratic socialists of America, happy. And they always have to pick these victim groups so that they can claim the moral high ground, no matter how stupid their policies, no matter how ahistorical their claims. Oh, but we're doing it for this really righteous reason. We're doing it for these. Can't you see? It's emotional manipulation. That's why it has to be about a group that is so downtrodden. That's why it has to be about these poor Palestinians. Palestinians have been wards of the international community, of the un, of the United States forever, really, you know, sending them all this money or trying to help them all the time. And why can't they just build a decent society? Oh, because they have to have. They have to have 100% control of Jerusalem and they have to kick all the Jews out of Israel. Then they'll have a nice country. Give me a break. These arguments are completely unsound and yet you'll hear them from people like Mamdani and they will clap for themselves and they'll act like there's some towering intellectual and brave in the bargain as well.
