considering making Venezuela the 51st state? Wow, this was something that got quite a bit of attention just a few days ago. And here's, here's what I can tell you about this. First of all, that President Trump is still trolling the media in this way and getting the reaction he does is in and of itself remarkable. But let's just think about this for a second. First of all, he's not actually going to make Venezuela the 51st state. Remember what he did with Greenland and they were all, oh my gosh, he's going to seize Greenland with military force. No, he's not. Told you he's not. But it did raise the geostrategic importance of Greenland in the conversation. And it also created a leverage point with Europe to say, hey, fine, if you're not going to be willing to let us have Greenland, let's talk more about your NATO military spending obligations. Let's now that I've got your attention from the Trump perspective, maybe now we could focus in on some other things where we have to work together. So this isn't just some wild headline. Trump dropped that bomb on Fox News earlier in the week. Now, he didn't say it on video. He said it on a phone call to, I think it was John Roberts. He said he's seriously considering making Venezuela 51st state. So of course the usual suspects are losing their minds over this. It's not going to happen. But let's actually look at what is happening in Venezuela, because in that classic Trumpian way, he says something that gets the haters all riled up, but then he also gets people looking at an issue, talking about it who wouldn't otherwise. So back in January, in an amazing operation, the Trump administration decided to send in Delta Delta Force. And they even admitted using a sonic weapon that I had never even heard of before. Obviously it was highly classified until they talked about it. They captured Nicolas Maduro and his wife, took them into custody on major narco terrorism charges. And they're now in New York City and I believe the MCC there, the Manhattan Correctional Facility Correctional Center. And that was game over for the socialist disaster of the Maduro regime. Now this woman, Delsey Rodriguez, has stepped in as acting president and Guess what? All of a sudden, Venezuela, surprise, surprise, is far more cooperative since the previous leader stole an election. I mean, it's not really the elected leader, right, because he stole the election, but the previous leader, the despot, if you will, the dictator Maduro, got what he deserved. So now we're starting to see some oil deals happening. There are mining agreements that are also underway. Some political prisoners have been released. So this country, which was a total basket case until they took Maduro off the chessboard, this country where people referred to the Maduro diet as essentially a slow starvation of the population, people just losing weight because they can't get enough food, no bread literally on the shelves, no rice, no beans, no nothing. And finally, we are in a different place with this. And the alliance that Venezuela had with Russia, China, Iran, and Cuba also has been put into a very different place. So now when Trump floats this bold idea of statehood, he is pushing boundaries, but he's really just trying to make people think more about the strategic reality of Venezuela, which is that it sits on an estimated $40 trillion in oil reserves, the largest proven oil reserves on the planet, larger than Saudi Arabia. So under socialism, they managed to turn what should be an incredibly wealthy and prosperous country into a poverty machine. You had hyperinflation and mass exits. Millions of Venezuelans flooding our southern border because their leaders were too busy stealing and, of course, starving their own people in the process. Here's the thing. Trump sees major, massive, huge opportunity here. Secure that energy for America, at least our markets, and bring real prosperity to the Venezuelan people in the process. You're stabilizing the hemisphere. No more caravans of Venezuelans making their way through Central America, through Mexico, all the way to our border. No more Chinese and Russian bases in our backyard, I might add. I mean, this is an America first policy where all the good guys win. A closer US Venezuela relationship, whether you want to call it a full partnership, a strong alliance, probably not statehood, but, you know, if Venezuela wanted to become a US Protectorate, something along the lines of, say, Puerto Rico, wouldn't that be interesting? No voting, but, you know, maybe more like Guam, I guess, than. Than Puerto Rico. I have to look at what the difference is between the Puerto Rico and Guam relationship. Quite honestly. That would be interesting. You know, Ulysses Grant very much wanted to do something like this, really make a state actually out of the Dominican Republic, and was. It was under serious consideration under the Ulysses Grant administration. Didn't end up happening. But Venezuela as a US Protectorate, freedom, real economic opportunity, an end to misery for the Venezuelan people. They get the rule of law, they get property rights. American know how to turn their resources into massive wealth. Instead of just a bunch of numbers going into the Swiss bank accounts of the socialist scumbags running the country. You get greater stability in the region. No more failed state. Venezuela exporting chaos, of course, the narco trafficking going on there and migrants. People would scream imperialism about this, but the real imperialism was Chavez and Maduro selling out their country to foreign enemies in the name of Bolivarian revolution. I mean, they're trying to make this place effectively a colony of China, Russia and others so that they could stay in power. Trump's approach is the opposite. Liberation through strength and smart self interest. This is not about conquest. We're not trying to be. Trump is not trying to be the newest conquistador. It's about results and what's best for everybody. Venezuela was a cautionary tale of what happens when socialism is allowed to run rampant. Now Venezuela can be a success story in the other direction. For capitalism, for free markets, for rule of law, for letting America lead, for partnering with America. Trump's thinking big on this one, and he should. The 250th anniversary of our country is coming up. What better way to show the world that freedom and capitalism still works than turning a socialist wreck into a thriving partner? I don't think There'll be a 51st star on our flag, but the world's a crazy place. Who knows? Trump has big ideas. Sponsor Here is super short. Here's a question. How many brokers does it take to insure your business? If you're like most business owners, the answer is too many. Multiple policies, multiple applications, no clear view of how it all fits together. And when questions come up, it's not easy to get the clarity you need. Super sure changes that. You get one broker for all your business insurance, backed by a team that works with you year round, not just at renewal. And if you've ever stared at a policy and wondered what the heck's going on, what does it actually cover? Super sure has a fine print fax tool that translates the legal jargon into plain English so you know what's covered and what's not. Right now you can go to super sure.com, get a full report on your current policies with no obligation. Find out if you're over insured, underinsured, or somewhere in between. LLC, a licensed insurance agency. All right, now let's talk Cuba, the other Latin American country that Trump has a big interest in right now. So the regime is still full of cruel scumbags. That's unfortunately who runs Cuba, whether it's Diaz Canal or their foreign. You know, Minister of Foreign affairs, people are all scumbags. But Cuba is just 90 miles off the coast of Florida. I could get to Cuba in a boat in a matter of hours from where I am. It's not hard. Let me tell you, folks, the story coming out of the right, coming out of there right now shows you that with the Communists, the same old song and dance, just more desperation, more lies. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is trying to help out. The United States offered the Cuban regime $100 million in humanitarian aid, 100 million food, medicine, fuel, disaster relief. This is what these people desperately need after the blackout shortages and economic collapse. That, yes, is happening because the Trump administration has put this embargo in place and we've decided that enough is enough and it's no longer okay to have a totalitarian communist state right off our, right off our shores. You know, Rubio said we already got 6 million in aid through the Catholic Church's Caritas Organization because that reaches people on the ground. But this big package of 100 million, nope. The dictatorship in Havana would rather let their citizens suffer than accept help from the United States. That would be too much for them. Look, this is what evil is in leadership, plain and simple. Cuba is in free fall because the leadership of Cuba wants to be in charge more than they want good things for the people of Cuba. So this is why you have nationwide blackouts. You have fuel shortages that are letting the power grid going to collapse, food lines, shortages of medicine, families scraping by while the Communist Party bosses, of course, continue to live large. Protests rare in that police state, have actually started to pop up. And people are banging pots, lighting fires, even ransack and ransacking a Communist Party office in one city because they are fed up. Regime's response, of course, blame America, crack down harder, and keep saying no to the very aid that could ease the pain. So here's the brutal reality. The Cuban regime has no good options left. They know it. Their socialist model is a corpse. They lost their Soviet sugar daddy decades ago. Venezuela used to prop them up with cheap oil, but then we took care of Maduro and that dried up for them. So now they're begging Russia for tankers while their people sit in the dark. But the, the Castro, Ayers, Diaz Canal and the Rest of those dinosaur revolutionaries, they will never admit defeat. They'll never loosen their grip. They'd rather watch their people starve and freeze than risk real freedom because real reform means the end of their power. And this is the pattern with every communist regime in history. The elites eat while the people suffer. They lecture the world about equality and then reject humanitarian aid because it might come with strings like transparency or helping day to day Cubans instead of the party apparatus. And Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, among other jobs here. Nailed it. The regime is standing in the way of relief to the people. They're not incapable of taking the relief. They're committed to refusing the relief. So this is about ideology over human beings, which is always the case with communists. And this is their commitment to staying in power no matter how many people have to suffer in the process. It's already been how many decades of suffering because of the communists in charge in Cuba. So this is why Trump's tough line on Cuba matters. It's why we keep the pressure on. Not because we hate Cubans. The opposite, actually. We love the Cuban people. Millions of them, right here where I live, in Miami and across America. Prove what free Cuban Americans can do when they escape that prison island the regime. The communists are the problem. Until the leadership is changed or changes, the suffering will continue. They know it, by the way. They just don't care. Cuban people deserve better than this. They deserve the same shot at freedom and prosperity and good lives that the Venezuelans are just beginning to experience as well. America's message should be loud and clear. We're ready to help the moment the regime stops choosing power over people. Until then, the world sees exactly what communism delivers. Blackouts, empty shelves, and leaders too proud or too cruel to say yes to aid for their own citizens. That is the truth, my friends. And now our sponsor is Birch Gold. Gold is good. He expands the discussion to Cuba, criticizing both regimes’ prioritization of power over people and advocating a robust U.S. response—anchored in support for freedom, opportunity, and democratic values. The show’s tone is assertively critical of socialism, highlights opportunities for American-led transformation, and is infused with Buck's signature blend of humor, seriousness, and ideological conviction.
