Welcome, everybody, to the Monday edition of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show. There's this thing going on called tariffs and a discussion around it. Stock market is in some interesting moments here. Going up, going down, going up, going down. We will break this down for you, and it's all going to be all right. Trump has it. Keep the faith. He said there's going to be a little bit of pain and he's definitely not backing off of this. So the people that are whining about it, it will fall on deaf ears. We shall discuss what this is likely to do, what the ramifications are. A whole lot of stuff. Look, the biggest story in the world right now, because it affects the American economy, the global economy, is clearly Trump's tariffs. Also got a little bit of stuff about Foushee, some other things, some transgender sports madness, some other things that we will get to later on in the program. But the economy is on everyone's mind right now. It is absolutely number one. And let's just start to talk about where this is. So some tariffs are set to go into effect. Well, when they go into effect and how they go into effect is a big part of this conversation. But we know that we had our liberation day last week on the good side of things. Right now you have a whole bunch of countries, something like 50 countries have already reached out to President Trump saying, look, let's negotiate on these tariffs. Let's have a conversation about what's best for you, what's best for us, and work constructively going forward. Taiwan has already said that it will eliminate all tariffs. So has India, Israel, Vietnam, Cambodia. They are going to zero tariffs, zero trade barriers. Now, for a lot of people, you might stop and say, hold on a second, why did Israel have tariffs? Why did Taiwan have tariffs? Oh, that's right. Everyone else has them except for us. Is the way things have effectively been working for a long time. Pretty much everybody else but Clay, it is a. It's a little bit of a choppy day in the markets. And I understand a lot of you aren't day trading. A lot of you probably don't even actively manage accounts in the stock market at all. But 401ks and pension plans rely on the stock market. You have to keep that in mind. There's also what happens when you have an economy that a lot of it is built on consumer spending. If people feel like they're getting poorer Even if they're not at the top, there will be less spending, which can result in less. Less investment, unemployment. You know, things can go wrong. Clay. I'm just going to put it out this way. Trump said he was going to do it. He's doing it. I think he's. I think he's earned the trust of the American people, or should have earned the trust of the American people when it comes to the economy. He said that this is going to be a little rocky to get going, but he has a strategy, a plan in mind, and he's just telling everybody very clearly, don't be a. What was the word? Like a. A panic. A panic in. Or something like that. Like the new. The new panic party says, just stay the course. It's gonna be fine. Take the pain. For those who see it as something that's very dangerous for the stock market, it will rebound, and everything's gonna be okay. What say you?
Clay Travis
I think the lesson of the Trump era is Trump does something, everybody overreacts and says, oh, my goodness, this is going to lead to imminent disaster. We'll never recover from this. This is unacceptable. And then within a few weeks, that story has moved on, and things have gotten, typically a little bit better than they were before. To me, Trump came in recognizing there were three profoundly important things that were going the wrong direction in this country. One is, and let's not forget it, the border, the southern border is shut down. Joe Biden let 10 million illegals in in four years. In basically 30 days, Trump completely shut down the southern border, such that it's no longer a story at all. So one of those three big issues now, yes, there still need to be deportations of violent criminals. There are still many illegals year. We know that. But in terms of making things worse, Trump solved the border almost overnight. The other one of the three, I think, is on the right direction. Buck. Thankfully, Elon Musk has come in. He has said, we have a $37 trillion national debt. We cannot continue to operate at this level, and we have to go in and find waste and fraud in our government. And it seems to me that Elon Musk and the Doge team have done a good job on that. The third is. And Trump has been hammering this since he came down the escalator at Trump Tower in 2015 that summer. We have a massively unfair global trade economy, and we have to in some way fix it. And that global trade economy unfairness is being driven by China, which has dominated against us. So within that construct, this is right now the battleground that Trump has chosen and he is fighting it. Let me say a couple of things because I do think it's important your stock prices are effectively worth where they were a year ago. This is true whether you're a Democrat, Republican or independent. Do you know what people fear the most? It's having something that they think they have taken from them. It's one of the primary lessons of politics. It's why reform is so difficult with anything. Because once people, people would rather if they have a dollar in their hand, they, they fret much more over losing that dollar than they do think about how to double that dollar. General public Right. So a lot of people consider whatever a stock price is to be a referendum on at that particular moment in time, their overall value. The reality is unless you are selling, then there is no locked in dollar connection to whatever your stock prices are. Buck. This is why I think for a lot of people, stocks are poor choice because the emotion gets the better of them. Think about it in terms, think about it in terms of your overall house. You own a home, I own a home. I bet a lot of you out there have mortgages. Your, your house price is constantly fluctuating based on what interest rates are, based on what mortgage rates are. Heck, based on your overall neighborhood. Most people don't obsess over the daily fluctuation in the value of their house. If you think about that from a stock perspective, you know, buying a home tends to be a good decision long term. I wish people thought about stocks more like they do. Homes would be my general province of advice.
Buck Sexton
Well, this is what Warren Buffett said about people lacking the emotional stability to own stocks. Because he says that the day to day price, you can't get into that. And he says the same thing as you point out about houses. But here's, here's his icate Clay. As, as long as the stock thing does not create an economic contagion into the broader economy. And just to be clear, that can happen. Okay? It's not just I don't own stock, so I don't have to worry about this. I see a little bit people take it a little too far on both sides. There are people that say the tariffs like they've brought the market down and it's all falling apart. That's not true. But there are also people who suggest, well, I don't own stocks, so why do I care? Well, even if you don't own anything in the stock market, the stock market cares about you in a sense, or rather can Affect you. And that's where you get into things like, you know, you can get into the possibility of a real recession, reduced hiring, get into stagflation, get into some real problems with the economy. I don't see any of that because of a few things. One is, I still never get a good answer as to why do all these countries have tariffs, but we don't have tariffs and we've just somehow figured out something that they haven't really. Now, I'm not saying that there aren't trade offs. Are prices going to rise? Right. We can do a little bit of E Comm101 on this. Our price is going to rise a little bit in response to some of these tariffs. Probably the last time with the China stuff, when, remember they were talking about a trade war, CLAY, Back in 2017, 2018, Trump's first term. And as Trump has been pointing out, I think this is a very important point. Yeah. Price of goods overall, on average from China rise 0.7%. So there's a chance that you might have to pay 1 or 2% more for stuff made in China going forward. Maybe it's more than that. China and the US Are the ones that are really at, you know, each other's throats lock. Yeah. Locking antlers on this one. Right. But I never get an answer as to why they all have tariffs. We don't. Also, why are all these countries already coming forward, Clay, saying they want to negotiate and smooth things out? You know, that all has to be taken into account. And then I just think about this on a. On a very fundamental, not even economic, a very fundamental philosophical level. If we want momentous change, we have to change things momentously. If you want something to be a dramatically different outcome, you cannot keep status quo. And I think this is one of the things that Trump has proven time and again. I think this is what you were getting to early on when we're talking about this. Yeah. This is a guy who somehow has flouted the consensus over and over again. Why should this time be the time we say, no, no, no, you can't do what you're doing?
Clay Travis
And also, I have a lot less faith in experts now. And I'm sorry, like economic experts get almost everything wrong. And in the wake of COVID when all of these same economic experts told us, hey, you know, just go live at your home, go print money, Cheetos, we'll just print money, we'll give people money, there'll be no consequences. Well, there were. Inflation went to 9% and let me hit you on. I do think this is important. On price of goods. Right now, the price of oil is at a five year low. The number one area that people look at price of goods is what does a gallon of gas cost? It's going to go under $3 in most parts of the country on average. Again, I love this. Every time I say this that somebody's like, well, I just paid so and so in San Francisco and I just paid so and so. Ok, I get it. The average, I'm telling you right now, based on the price of a barrel of oil, the average price of a gallon of gas going to go under $3. That's going to be the lowest we've had gas prices in five years. A lot of people address and view the state of the economy based on what they pay for gas and what they pay for goods, meaning groceries. To a large extent. Grocery prices are coming down. Price of eggs, which they tried to turn into a big issue. Remember, we get all these guys out there that even for every one of you, I think wherever you buy eggs, I think you're paying less. Right. Than you were. Price of eggs down about 50%. Back to in some way a normalizing number. The reflections that I have seen of what a trade war will bring to bear in terms of cost of groceries is not very substantial. Price of gas comes down. So I think again, my best advice is I just went on, Pierce, you'll like this, Buck, I'll, I'll echo it here too. I told Piers Morgan, hey, in 18 months, if inflation is up and the stock market prices are lower than they were when Trump was elected in November, then I will go on and I will wear a clown nose on your show. I feel good about 18 months from now, Buck, you. Buck's getting nervous. 18 months from now. You guys can write this in. What is that like October 7th of 2026. Right. Right in advance of the election, I think everything is going to be infinitely better.
Buck Sexton
And for those who are, you can be a student of history and look at this from the perspective of, yeah, when Reagan had to tame inflation, there were a couple of rough years and then America just became the global dominant superpower, the likes of which the world had never seen and went on a 20 year run of prosperity. So much so that Bill Clinton was able to continue to ride the coattails of Reaganomics. But put that aside. You could also, I mean, there are so many ways, I think, Clay, that you can, you can view what's going on here. The detox that is necessary you pointed out, Covid, we spent trillions of dollars, like 7 or 8 trillion dollars just injected into the economy without the attendant products, goods, services, the overall productivity to support any of that. And we never really paid a financial price for this in terms of got to get back to the real economy, got to have a reset. And so part of that is baked into what we're seeing right now. But also, you know, you were sort of quoting Buffett before. The only people that really know what they're doing when it comes to the market are the people that tell you, I think I know where this stock will be, or I think I know what's going to happen in five years or maybe, you know, a couple of years. By and large, it is very. The day to day stuff. There's a, the number of people who can do that and even make a living doing it is tiny, tiny. You have to be like a little. You have to be a savant. Now, there are people who can do it, but they're very, very few. For the vast majority of us, you just bet on the big trends. And Trump is betting on the big trend of the American economy being the most incredible wealth generation machine in the history of the human species at the end of the day, and trying to fix some things in the meantime. So I'm, I am not worried. And to your point, about 18 months from now with the clown nose, um, I'll just say this, Clay. You know, Trump has decided that this is a big swing that he wants to take, and this is a gamble. And if he's wrong, we're going to get slaughtered in the midterms. And you know what? We will deserve it. And that's actually politics. But you know what else? I don't think that's going to happen. I'm ride or die with Trumpster on this one. Let the man cook. Let him do his thing. Let's see where it goes.
Clay Travis
Amen. And I've got October 7th, by the way. 2026 is Clown Nose x day. So if, if the stock market is at a lower price and inflation is up, it has to be both of those things, then I will wear a clown nose on here. And I will acknowledge that Trump has done a poor job on the economy. I will say this buck, it's a big swing. And Trump has now taken ownership of the overall economic environment. Now in a way that, that is, frankly, incredibly aggressive by him here in America. We can't imagine living under the constant threat of terrorism and rocket attacks in Israel. It's a way of life. Parents taking their kids to school suddenly drop to the ground as sirens blare or rush to the nearest bomb shelter. The tariff battle continues. We have talked quite a lot about that. There has been a massive swing already today in stock market prices. We are not CNBC or Fox Business, so we will not tell you every single day what the stock market prices are. But this is the latest battleground as Trump tries to remake the American economy and helped to make American trade practices fairer around the globe. In particular, this is a battle with China. I would expect, Buck, and I bet you would sign off on this, that in the days and the weeks and the months ahead, basically 90% of all these countries are going to come to the table and America's going to end up with a better trade partnership with those countries going forward. And really, ultimately the battleground is going to come down to, as has been predicted for some time and as Trump has been talking about truly for decades, what our relationship ends up being with China and how that situation resolves itself. That is really the underlying conflict that is going on at its most basic level is the United States versus China on how global trade policy is going to play out.
Buck Sexton
And we haven't spent much time today talking about the national security component of all of this, but it is, it is substantial. You cannot have your primary adversary on the world stage, which is China. I know we're supposed to always be so scared of everything Russia does, but Russia has a fraction of the population and a fraction of the economy. And you cannot be in a situation where you rely on your adversary. Think about that for a moment. Imagine if during the Cold War, like, look, we don't need to make antibiotics, we don't need to make robotics, we don't need to, we'll just get it all from Moscow. I mean, that would be considered pretty nuts right now. That obviously wasn't the case because, you know, communism, it turns out, is not. But China has a different version of communism. It's kind of like a market, market based communism, if you will, or market based collectivism that they've been able to grow very, very rapidly, particularly over the last 40 years. But Clay, as we've discussed the wars between near peer nations in the future, it's not going to be like what we've seen in the global war on terror, terror era. It's going to be who can produce the most material at the highest level with the best technology and deploy it the fastest. And that's going to determine, I think, who wins conflicts. And so the idea that we're just going to continue with the status quo and we can't make our own antibiotics and we can't make a lot of our own electronics and we need China as part of our day to day supply chain, that is an unsustainable long term arrangement. While China of course is doing the tariff thing so much which we are told only makes you poorer somehow a billion plus people in China, Clay, haven't gotten that memo that the globalist. Right. Somehow China hasn't gotten the memo that it's so dumb. The EU hasn't gotten the memo that it's so dumb. Israel hasn't gotten it until now. Now they're like, hey America, we're buddies, we'll get rid of those tariffs. They hadn't gotten the memo. That's a lot of countries that are doing something that we are all supposed to believe is manifestly self defeating and idiotic. Right. And I'll tell you this, you look at our immigration policies and we're the only country that has 10 million plus people that have piled into it. You know, it's not like we can't be the outlier in a bad way. We're so used to being number one or being the outlier in a good way. But we're the only country that was supposed to adopt effectively open borders. In Europe it's different in Europe, it's mostly migrants who they've invited in. They've said, okay, we're going to take you. And now they know Germany and Sweden, they're finding this out the hard way. Maybe that wasn't such a great idea. They didn't have people walking across the border from Norway into Sweden. Right. We have a unique problem set there too. So I think that people are going to see more and more that the consensus on this is not, not, not correct. Certainly not as solid as it pretends to be.
Clay Travis
And let me just say this because I get it and you guys can all weigh in. I'm looking right now. On April 14, 2024, the S&P 500 was, in fact, I'm screenshotting it if I can, was at 49, 67, 23. All right, that is lower than it is today, but basically the same price. Okay, so for everyone out there that is running around with their hair on fire, stock prices today, meaning The S&P 500 is the exact same place basically that it was one year ago. I Look, if the stock market drops to 2500 in the S&P 500, something like that, catastrophic. I'll look back and I'll say, boy, you know, you should have gotten out at 4900. But my point on it is I bet none of you were panicked in any way on April 14th of last year. Your stocks are the exact same value basically that they were a year ago at this time. Ideally stock prices go up, but if you bought one year ago and you've just held them, then you are the exact same place as you were before. So again, like I understand what they're doing. Buck, you and I were talking about this off air a couple of weeks ago. What was the calamity that could not be ignored? The signal group, Signal gate, remember? Remember Signal gate. Oh my goodness, can you believe that? They were, they were sharing information and this journalist from the Atlantic was on it and heads must roll. And is anybody talking about that right now? Now then, before this, what was it? Price of eggs. Everybody went out in unison and they said, look at how Trump is tanking the economy. What did they point to? They said, look at what it costs for everybody out there trying to buy a dozen of eggs. Price of eggs actually down since Joe Biden left office. By the way, Trump, is the price of eggs actually come down to the extent that ever all of you are out there buying eggs every single day. Prices are down. Now the new thing is, there's always a new new thing with Trump, a new line of attack. The new line of attack is Trump has destroyed the stock market. Well, actually stock market, same price it was a year ago and none of these people talked for two years. When Joe Biden was in office, the stock market was actually down for a two year process.
Buck Sexton
We also haven't talked more about how important rates are in all of this. You should be able to put your money in the bank. This sounds crazy. Now think about how much this has changed. It used to be if you were a saver, you could save money, put it in the bank and get a reasonable rate of return on your money. And that was something that a lot of people would do and depends on when this was. But you know, you have to obviously look at how inflation chips away at that, but you could still be ahead. And so there was an encourage, there was some encouraged savings through policy. You see what's going on now, you can't do that anymore. You're just losing money in a savings account because of inflation in recent years. And you look at the S&P 500. Right. Which is this basket of 500 companies and a lot of people invest in it. And this is what really moves the market. Clay, it had a 25% gain in 2024 and a 26% gain in 2023. This is not based on real productivity. It's not possible. The 500American companies didn't become 30% more productive or efficient roughly in 2023 or 2024. This is all financial alchemy. This is the political system determining that it's easier to anesthetize people at the top with cheap money and to make everyone think the market's better than it is than to look at the reality of we have been on a binge and we need to go on a diet.
Clay Travis
Totally. And again, I just think you need to understand where the attacks come from and comprehend that this is about coming after Trump aggressively. Let me just say this too, and we're going to continue to talk about it. Trump didn't have to try any of this. He could have come into office and done what most presidents do, which is kind of trim around the edges a little bit, not really change any of the trajectory at all. He is trying to make decisions that will benefit Americans long after his political career is over. He's trying to completely change the way that our trade deals are constructed, the way that we handle border security and balance the budget, all in the space of roughly 100 days. He has aggressively taken this on. So again, on a day to day basis, I think a lot of you are going to be nervous if you follow the stock market tracking day to day. If you follow it over six month periods, over one month, one year periods, then the trajectory is going to be 8 or 9% a year. You're going to make 8 or 9% a year. Every 10 years, your money's going to double. That's what basically the last hundred years has shown us. So does it happen every 10 years? Does your money double? No. Does every year your money go up 8 or 9%? No. But I do think that if you want to make good decisions going forward, you should be in the stock market. I don't know where else you're going to put your money, candidly. And for those of you out there that are not invested in the stock market, Buck, I thought you, you know, kind of laid it out that you are going to be impacted in some way based on the long term trajectory of the stock market because that's how jobs are created. Unless you're a government employee and you never have to worry about anything other than the deficit being enough to pay your salary. Yeah.
Buck Sexton
Or Elon finding out that you do nothing all day. That's also. That's a new thing. Look, if you. If you take a company, take a company. We all know you take Disney, and I know that we all like to beat up on Disney, and Disney deserves it. But just for way of our example here, if the Disney stock plummets, Disney is then going to have. Is then going to make determinations based upon its stock price. It's probably going to make cuts because it's going to try to create more cash flow for the market. And as it makes those cuts, it's going to fire people. And it's, you know, you see, there's this cascading effect where the market is an indicator of other things that matters to people. Job losses matters to all of us. Right. Unemployment number matters to all of us. And, you know, so. So there's going to be a little bit of watching that that needs to happen here. But, Clay, you brought up the price of gas, the price of oil. Remember, petroleum is 50% goes into gas, gasoline, and, you know, transport in that way. The rest of it goes into products, and that is reflected in the overall price that you pay for everything all the time. So a dropping price of gasoline can also be very, very helpful in all of this. You know, look, as I keep saying, arguing about whether Trump should do this or not, I'm seeing a lot of people, Clay, saying that is really a fool's errand because Trump is doing it. He's earned the right to take this gamble. He owns this. It's his gamble. And I think we're going to see that it goes very well. And because of the system we have, if for some reason Trump is wrong and that's that, and we see that, as Clay has said in 18 months, if the economy's in a really bad, truly in a bad spot, Democrats are going to absolutely annihilate us in the midterms, and you're going to have a very competitive next presidential election, period. So this is. This is where we are. Right. I feel like everyone just. Just ride with it, roll with it. This is what's going to happen. And there can be moderation and, or, you know, modifications made. This whole system, the whole approach, Clay, is built on possible modification. That's why you have 50 countries that have come forward. People act like what it is now is supposed to be what it is in 30 days. No. Does anyone understand that China is engaged in its own Brinksmanship too. They're saying, oh, they see the pressure that Trump is under from some people, from some quarters right now. So they go, you know what, we're going to raise our tariffs on you substantially. We're going to double down on this. Trump's going to back. You think Trump is going to back down at that point? You know, you think Trump is the guy at the negotiating table when you play hardball, he goes, you know, probably I don't like hardball. I just want to be friends. No, clearly not.
Clay Travis
So I, I love all of this in the context of we're basically now because of Trump buck, like for right now we're CNBC and we're Fox Business. Everybody objectively cares about where the stock market is on a day to day basis right now, obsessively, because they want to attack Trump for it. But it is really hysterical that they were saying, you know, this signal controversy, I don't know how Trump's going to shake this. This goes to the heart and core of his administration. There isn't a single story anywhere about the signal story. And I think ultimately Trump understands media and he understands story better than any of the people trying to criticize him in media. And that's ultimately his gift. That is over and above everybody else. He knows how much of the narrative arc is total bs.
Buck Sexton
You know, something else that I'll throw out there. If Trump just tried to run some establishment GOP presidency now, it would be a betrayal of what he promised his voters during the campaign. It would be a trail of a betrayal of what Trump says that he wants to do and believes in. So if you just let things happen as they're happening, if he didn't do Doge, if he didn't shut down the border and if he didn't try this trade gambit, well, you know what he's going to do? A little tax cut. You could get that from a Bush administration, right? We, we voted for disruption. Let's look at the disruption. You know, you vote for somebody to shake things up, don't complain when it's shaken. And that's where we are right now. Lean into it a little bit. It's all going to be fine. And if not, Klan are going to be wearing clown noses on the radio show today.
Clay Travis
It's going to be, oh, you're signed on with me now.
Buck Sexton
Well, not on Piers's show. That's your thing. But yeah.
Clay Travis
October 7, 2026, we will wear, you'll wear a clown nose with me on the show.
Buck Sexton
I mean, I can't do, you're, you know, can't let wingman wear a clown nose without me. Like, you know, this is, like, you know, this is, you know, if, if I just, I, I think I might have to follow you on this one. All right, look, this is, this is transition to something serious. But as you know, if you are going to carry a firearm to defend yourself, you have to be prepared to make that very important decision. I conceal carry down here in South Florida and I've been in places abroad where I've carried weapons to defend myself for the government. And if you're going to defend yourself, it's a big decision. But guess what? You need to also prepare for the consequences of that decision. And you really need to do this and you need to take action now because you can end up in court even if you're 100% right. In fact, I know of cases, I know of people who have ended up because they defended themselves with a firearm. They still ended up in court. Some of them even ended up getting prosecuted, had to defend themselves. So it's not about just what you did, it's how it's interpreted. It's the politics in that county. This is why you need to become a member of the uscca. Clay and I are both members. I conceal Kerry Clay is a lawyer. We come at this from two sides. All of you who own a firearm need to join USCCA. United States Concealed Carry association is something you need to join as a firearm owner and especially if you ever even think that you're going to be carrying. Welcome back in Clay Travis Buck Sexton show we have not talked I, I don't think on the program about an awful story that happened in Texas. A 17 year old, I believe high school kid in Texas was stabbed in the heart by a suspect, guy named Carmelo Anthony. Not the basketball player for those of you out there, 17 year old, also Texas kid. There was a dispute over where the 17 year old should be sitting. And the 17 year old that is accused of committing the murder had a knife in his, in his bag, said, hey, if you tell me where to go, he was sitting in the wrong area, there will be basically consequences. The other kid says, hey, you shouldn't be sitting here, you're in the wrong place. And the Carmelo Anthony kid stands up and stabs the 17 year old in the heart and he bleeds out, dies there in the arms of his twin brother. I mean, it is an awful story and not surprisingly it has gotten attention to a large extent only on right wing media because it is, and I say right wing media, it is a story that is uncomfortable for much left wing media because the kid that got stabbed to death was a white kid. The kid that did the stabbing was a black kid. Now this happened in Frisco, for those of you not familiar, that's about 30 miles north of Dallas. And the individual who was stabbed to death, Austin Metcalf, he was an 11th grader at Memorial High School in that area. Um, okay, I've, I've got buck, 17, 14, 10 year old. So anytime I see a story like this, it makes me sick to my stomach. My son is the same age as this, my oldest is the same age as this kid who was both stabbed and also the stabber. The reason we're talking about it is There is a GoFundMe page that has been created for the Carmelo Anthony, the individual that is accused of stabbing this young kid to death. And it has raised $160,000, I believe. Buck, you have it open in front of you right now? Yes. Why? I think this is interesting and I want to get your reaction to it. First of all, it's awful and this is emblematic unfortunately of what happens with young people when it comes to violence in America today. Relatively inconsequential issues are leading to death. And this is a snapshot of what happens all over the country.
Buck Sexton
And there's more than that too. I mean the, there's a lot of conversation now around because this, this, for something like this to happen at a high school athletic event over who's sitting in what section. Yes, you have to, there's, there's no, there's no. Okay. There's a lot to be said here. One is that people are pointing out, why is it that half the murders in this country are committed by Black men age 16 to 40, and we're not allowed to. That. That's just the way that the statistics are. Right? That's. That's part of the conversation. Why. Why is there such a disproportionate. And we can get into all that conversation, but you should be able to say that out loud without people gasping and saying, how dare you say that? That's just a fact. It's just a fact. So why is one part of the American community committing such a disproportionate share of the violence? Now, generally, as I also know these statistics, the black community, when there is violence, it's men. It's not. It's not. We're not talking about women, black men. It's against other black men. However, when you look at interracial violence, it is also wildly, disproportionately the case that there will be black violence against a non black individual than a non black individual committing violence against a black person. So this is what the conversation online has. That was initially where it turned. That was what it turned into. You know, Matt Walsh asked this question, got over the Daily Wire, got a lot of heat from people. He's saying, look, why are we ever allowed to say that maybe that this. There should be some way to it culturally, socially, to address this pro. This. This issue, this disparity. Okay, Disparity in other ways we can talk about all day long, right? Disparity in household income. How do we fix that disparity? Other disparities are to be addressed. This disparity is not to be talked about. And I think, by the way, not.
Clay Travis
Only are to be addressed are a sign that America is failing. Right, like the failure to address the wealth gap. Yeah, yes, absolutely.
Buck Sexton
Failure is a problem. So now what's happened, because the online left has gotten involved is they're saying, oh, it was a case of self defense, just like Kyle Rittenhouse. This is what they're. This is what they're trying to. They're trying to say. And I think that that has outraged a lot of people, because first of all, there was. I know the father of the boy who was stabbed to death. He is a. He is a believing Christian, and he said, I forgive him. And there are a lot of people that are saying, I don't want to get into that. I didn't just lose a child. I'm not going to criticize somebody who did. I would not personally be saying that I forgave anyone. I would be wondering if I could be the one that threw the switch on the electric chair. But put that aside, I'm a different person. That person. And I didn't just lose a family member, a son. Okay, self defense for this claim. I'm sorry that the left is so unfamiliar with this. It's interesting, Clay, just like with firearms, there's a tremendous disparity politically and culturally between the left and the right when it comes to issues. When it comes to self defense, they have no idea. Just like they don't understand anything about law enforcement. Just they, they, they have a very superficial and generally idiotic view of it. They don't understand that, for example, if somebody walks up to my car and they say, you know, hey, give me all your money or I'm going to kill you, you know, I'm going to shoot you. I have a gun in my pocket in Florida. If I drew down on them and if people believe that that threat was there, that that's what was said, maybe this is on video or whatever. People believe that my life is in danger. I am justified. If somebody walk up to my car and like, hey, you drive like a jerk and I pulled out my gun and I shot them, I'm a murderer. I'm going to prison. As I should. Right. Self defense is not. We are in an argument. I'm going to kill you. That, that's not self defense. And that's what happened with this individual quite clearly. Ok. We're arguing over a chair. You know, unless he believed he was in fear of his. He stabbed this kid in the heart. Yeah. Another part of this too. Try that's. I'm killing you. Okay. Anybody with a knife knows, you know, you could slash. I'm not saying do this. I mean, if you slash somebody in the face, you slash them in the arm, you slash them in the stomach, you're gonna get, you know, they're gonna run away and be like, oh my God, they're gonna want to not deal with you anymore. Right. Stabbed him in the heart to kill him. And now people on the left are saying, and there are some prominent, you know, some prominent commentator type, not prominent, but some commentator types are saying this too. It's self defense. And it's. People are taking it as a real slap in the face because instead of the conversation about why would somebody resort to lethal violence in this circumstance against a high school peer with no real provocation, it's. Yeah, it was self def defense. You know what I mean? It's really the left spitting on the grave of this kid.
Clay Travis
Not only that, GoFundMe has a policy where they did not allow Kyle Rittenhouse to raise money. In fact, they shut down any attempt to raise money for him to be able to defend himself. And in general, I think their policy is these fundraisers aren't allowed because for instance, a guy like Luigi Mangione Buck would probably sadly raise millions of dollars for his legal defense if they had a GoFundMe up for him.
Buck Sexton
GoFundMe being a bunch being run by a bunch of left wing communists, though. I mean, this is unfortunately, this is just the deal. This is why a lot of people don't like GoFundMe because it's a left wing entity and they do this. It's a private entity. They're allowed to make their own. It's like a social media company. Right, which we saw with all of them for a long time. Completely arbitrary, not, I shouldn't say arbitrarily, in partisan and, and very intentional fashion are hurting one side to benefit the other. So I mean, GoFundMe falls into that category as well. But the claim that now this ties in because the claim of self defense, you can see that people are believing this because they're giving money on the GoFundMe. So now you have people that are hearing this story who are saying, I want to support this kid who stabbed this other kid in the heart in front of his dad and his brother because he said you're not supposed to be seated in this section. You know, this, this is, this is appalling. I mean, to your point about Luigi Mangioni, people are really rightly upset at this. What American wants, what America, well, wants is an interesting question there, isn't it? What American believes this story that this kid actually thought in a, in a, in a. Who had the knife, who had the weapon? The kid who killed him.
Clay Travis
Yeah.
Buck Sexton
How could he have been, how could he have been in a position where he thought he was under threat of extreme violence and, or threat of his life? He didn't. This kid should go to prison the rest of his life. This is not a hard case.
Clay Travis
I think that's right. I think it also speaks to masculinity in crisis because to Your point, yes, 16 to 40 year old black men commit over half of all murders in this country, which is a staggering perspective, stat, considering that 16 to 40 year old black men probably represent. What do you think 3% of the overall United States population, 5% at most. I mean, it's a tiny percentage of the overall population and they represent over half of all murders.
Buck Sexton
And it's even, it's even more disconcerting. You look in a place like New York City where on a per capita basis, the poorest ethnicity in New York City is when you, when you include the Asian immigrant population, there's a lot of very poor Asians, whether South Asian or East Asian, and New York City Clay, who commit effectively no violent crime. Yeah, almost none. So they're poor, but they don't kill anybody. And, you know, these are the conversations people want to say, okay, well, what's going on here? Clearly there is a pernicious cultural and, you know, family destruction influence in some communities that makes the propensity for violence as a result of those cultural issues likelier. And instead of addressing it now, we have people saying, oh, well, it's, you know, let's talk about this as a self defense case. No serious person thinks this is a self defense case.
Clay Travis
I think a large degree what you would see is that the overwhelming amount of violent crime is committed in fatherless households across racial groups. That is absence of men, absence of dads, leads young men to be far more likely to be violent. And I don't think that's coincidental. The other part of this is, and you hit on it, if this had been two black kids, exact same story, nobody would have heard about it because young black male violence against other young black males is so common that it virtually makes no news at all. And this is why, and I'm writing in this new book that I'm writing, Buck, it's been so unfortunate that we have demonized police, because if you look at the data, there are, I believe that the data reflects this is true, thousands and thousands of young black men who are dead because police weren't able to do the jobs that they should have been able to do in those cities. So everybody who marched, blm. Everybody who donated money, blm. All those people walking around raising their fists. The actual most prominent consequence of your rebellion, of your protest was thousands more young black men dead. And again, Buck, this wouldn't even be a story if this is two young black kids, one stabs the other over a dispute about who should be sitting where. None of us would have heard about it because it happens so often.
Buck Sexton
Turning to the numbers here again, just because I know that what the left has done for a long time is they say it's about poverty and lack of opportunity really. 24% of Asians in New York City are in poverty. By New York City's own metrics and standards. 21% of the black community is in poverty. 90% of the prison in New York City, Rikers island is black and Latino. It's actually 90% plus I think some years like 92, 93%. The Asian percentage of Rikers island, despite 24% of them in poverty is less than 1%. So what's going on? This is just, you know, why are these situations playing out? The way you brought up family formation, you bring up culture, culture in school, culture in media, these are things that we should be able to talk about. But some people don't want to talk about them and instead they'd rather play this game of oh well this was this national profile case. Now it was a self defense case. And they say that knowing that it's really just meant to antagonize people and meant to say, you know, the whole system is corrupt and you know, it's, it's, it's like an OJ Verdict situation.
Clay Travis
I bet if you overlapped buck it would be a fascinating study. I don't know if anybody's done this in recent history. I bet if you overlapped rates of men at home for Asian communities versus black communities in New York City, I bet the average Asian community household, 90% dads at home. Just a guess. I bet the average black family in New York City dads at home 10%.
Buck Sexton
15% something percent, topic 20%, maybe 15%.
Clay Travis
Yeah, but it would be I bet the biggest racial dynamic difference between Asian and black anywhere in the country. And I think if you override that kids behavior, especially young men who we're talking about, remember women don't commit stab murders very often. I bet you would see dad in home decreases the overall rate of violence on a level that is staggering. Would actually be a really interesting conversation that we should have that a lot of people won't have because it forces us to have serious conversations about absence of men and what fatherlessness does to young men across the country. When I say you need to protect yourself, interestingly from a home intruder, a lot of people's gut reaction is that doesn't happen where I live. Maybe it's the case, but still, all it takes is one time. If you want to have pepper spray, if you want to have bars on your doors, if you want to just make your home safer than it otherwise would be, I encourage you to go check out Sabre. They have all sorts of products we've got every single one of their products here in the Travis household. Whether it's bars that you put on your doors at night that make it very difficult to open those doors. Whether it is pepper spray. My wife carries around pepper spray. A lot of the women probably in your life do as well. And if they don't, they should be. And also maybe you want, maybe you got a lot of guns, but maybe you would like to have a non lethal option because kids are coming in and out of your house at all hours. I know in the Travis household we got teenage boys, they are in and out of the house all the time. They make a lot of noise. Sometimes they set off the alarms because guys, go figure, they don't come in like you would expect them to. Maybe it's going to wake you up in the middle of the night. You want to be able to protect yourself, but you don't want to do it in a lethal manner because you know you got teenagers coming in at all hours. That's a perfect example of why you would want to check out the pepper spray launcher from Saber right now. Dozens of products, all reduced price. I feel like Clay's the guy on the stock market floor today. I'm like, clay, tell us what's going on down there on the floor of the exchange. There's all the people running around, buy, sell. What's the Latest?
Clay Travis
The S P500 is up for the day. The up as we speak right now by around 0.4%. And the Dow is down about 140 points. So a bit of a split verdict there. S&P 500, obviously, the 500 largest companies, the better approximator of the markets move in general. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones. Only 30 companies involved in the Dow Jones Industrial Index, but basically a day where not much has happened after. Actually, a lot has happened in terms of fluctuation. But the end result as we speak to you with a couple of hours left of trading is that Monday has not been a very, very crazy outcome so far relative to the moves that we saw on Thursday and Friday.
Buck Sexton
No one's going to call this Black Monday, the day that the stock market was destroyed forever or something. You know, it's all gonna be okay. You know, that's, I think, what it suggests.
Clay Travis
Buck for people out there is the market was got an unexpected outcome. Trump was more aggressive on trade than they anticipated. On Wednesday, so called liberation day. Thursday and Friday, the stock market changed, went down quite a lot. Now on Monday, people have digested it. They've said, ok, we've gotten used to what happened. The predictions, as predictions often are, that Monday would be a cataclysmic day for us. Stocks have as we speak to you, with two hours left in trading not proven true. And again, stock prices are basically the same as where they were a year ago in the larger context.
Buck Sexton
It was on October 24, 1929 that Black Thursday occurred. And that was the great crash and the one that people always refer to. So black. That's Black Thursday, Oct. 24, 1929. This is not that. And people can just relax a little bit. It's gonna be okay. It's gonna be all right. Trump is dedicated to this. He bigly knows what the plan is and it's just about resetting some things and then it's gonna be great. Probably the best economy we've ever seen. Just gonna take a little time to get there. All right, a couple of updates to some other stories then I wanna get into this trans athlete thing more. More female athletes taking a stand or in some cases, I guess taking a knee. But for the right reason. We'll get into this. Two things though. One is that we were just talking about that stabbing story in Texas, Clay, and it seems that it just broke as we were talking about this. I can't say that one led to the other, but they've pulled the GoFundMe for the. So I guess they are adhering to the criminal defense rules. Maybe they got caught though on this one. People pointed out, hey, you say no criminal defense fundraising on GoFundMe and now that's ended.
Clay Travis
You have additional one bit of change there is at Give Send Go. And look team, can you look up the difference on what these organizations are? I'm not sure if Ghost.
Buck Sexton
I think they're just variations on the. I think they did the same platform, same stuff.
Clay Travis
Okay, so they are allowing their funding to still occur that has raised $170,000. So the main one that is GoFundMe which a lot of people know has shut down the ability to raise money. What I am seeing on Give Send Go is that that has still been allowed to happen and that there has been $170,000 raised on that platform. The reason why I say Give Sin Go, there are a bunch of different of these companies that compete against each other. And so I don't know if this is, quote unquote, a left wing site or what their orders of. Of fundraising, rules of fundraising are, but they have raised over 170,000 for this alleged stabber there.
Buck Sexton
And just to. To bring this one full circle too. While somebody was out hitting 300 yard drives with the celebrities last week in the sunshine, having a great old time, I was here taking grenades in the trenches solo on that McDonald's dad who left, the dad at McDonald's who left his kids. And we, we were all, we, we just went on the news story and we said we needed more facts. And some of you were very skeptical even of the facts initially. And it turned out he wasn't at a job interview. It was 90 minutes. And they pulled his GoFundMe and actually refunded everybody their money.
Clay Travis
Yeah.
Buck Sexton
So he was not allowed to profit from that one either. So these sites have gotten a little bit more. A little more dialed in, a little savvy or on. On what's going on. But so, yeah, on that one, you know, man, it's. It's just. It's interesting, isn't it? He clearly knew that saying I was going for a job interview, there'd be a lot of people that there would be sympathy for his position. Now when you hear he just left the kids there, and then the mother of the kids was called to the scene and she was furious about it. Like, this guy messed up, right? And the cop did not mess up who was there. The cops handled this perfectly. We did say, I said at the time, just to be clear, I was like, I do not blame the cops at all. We need to know exactly what's going on here. And so we did not jump to blame police on this one for anything for, for even a poor judgment call. But we updated that story and yeah, see, we're not msnbc. When a story goes the way, you know, when a story goes in the other direction from how it might have been trending, we don't go, oh, let's just move on to something else. Clay, you want to talk about the trans stuff now for a sec? Let's do it. Let's. Let's dive into this, shall we? Here you have John Oliver of last week Tonight. John Oliver, he talks like this all the time. And people on the left think that that must make him smart. It does not, in fact. And he doesn't really know anything. And it's shocking that. Well, I shouldn't say shocking, but it's just Preposterous that Mack still gives this guy the platform that they do. But he's now joined Neil DeGrasse Tyson who did this on the Bill Maher show. He has joined the other celebrities of the left who say there is no advantage that men do not have an advantage over Women in sports play 16.

We expect a certain amount of difference in athletics. Taller basketball players are expected to compete against shorter ones. Faster soccer players compete against slower ones. Michael Phelps was allowed to compete with other swimmers despite being part dolphin. And crucially, none of the studies I've mentioned so far bear much relevance to what these new laws target, which is youth sports, usually of all ages. And the research there is even more scant. We have no research about how being trans or undergoing gender affirming treatment impacts athletic performance in teens. And when it comes to kids before the onset of puberty, I'd argue when you're talking about 7 year olds, as a practical matter, that's a point where lots of school sports are co ed anyway. And a key difference between competitors on a field can come down to whether a kid was born in October or April.
Clay Travis
Okay, 45 minutes on this and we just played you a cut of this. I have coached little league sports in baseball, basketball, soccer and, and football, flag football. In many of those leagues there have been young girls who played as well. In fact, I have coached young girls on predominantly boy teams. No one out there is saying, hey, if you are 11 and you want to play boys baseball and you're really good, or you are nine and you want to play boys basketball because you're a really good girls player, that there's anything wrong at all with that. Because it is true that before puberty there isn't that much difference in young kids overall athletic ability. In fact, on one of my teams, I think our 10U baseball team, the best player that I coached was a girl. She was fabulous. Guess what? Testosterone starts to come in when boys hit puberty. And as everyone who has coached young boys knows, the team with the most kids with, with the mustaches is going to be the best. When you're like 13 years old, whoever hits puberty the fastest, it is, they are bigger, stronger, faster. It is an overwhelming difference, testosterone level.
Buck Sexton
Especially for young people. It, it almost functions the way that steroids for adults do. In fact, professional bodybuilders, they will say that they. I have friends. I am clearly not one, but I have friends down in Miami who are because they're everywhere. Clay went to the gym down here. He understands this is the Most gym obsessed culture in the United States, bar none. No question. South Florida. Like I've been, I've been to gyms in Beverly Hills. I grew up in New York City. There is no place that is as obsessed with this stuff as South Florida. And if you run, they call it running test. If you take exogenous testosterone to a certain level, it functions very much in your body just like steroids do. I mean in terms of muscle growth, muscle density, all these sorts of things. And people usually take that alongside anabolic steroids. And that's how they get so enormously big and muscular. I bring it up because, you know, if you have a guy that is taking test taking steroids and a guy who is not, trust me, you know the difference and so do they. And if you have a 13 year old kid whose body has started to release the. Because the pituitary gland has kicked in and they are releasing the hormones necessary for extra testosterone production. It is a whole different world, right? The kids with the mustaches and the armpit hair, when you're in the ninth grade, those are the, you know, those are the kids that are like dunking and the kids that are maybe a year or two behind that, they still look like they could be singing in the sixth grade choir. It's just reality.
Clay Travis
Totally true, totally true. And the fact that left wingers have decided that the hill they want to die on is there's no difference between men and women when it comes to athletics. And that trans women, which is, that is to say men who are identifying as women. Riley Gaines asked a good question. It's one I've been asking for a long time. If this is true, how come no women who identify as men are dominating in men's sports?
Buck Sexton
Right?
Clay Travis
Like if there's.
Buck Sexton
So why have separate sports at all?
Clay Travis
Correct. Why have.
Buck Sexton
I think that's the even most fundamental question, period. Why, why have the most, you know, why have. Why have we separated and segregated sports by gender as long as we have? If what John Oliver says is true, there's no basis for it. Just, let's just have unisex.
Clay Travis
Everybody should just compete in one organization.
Buck Sexton
Men and women, which is the destruction of women's sports and women's achievement. You would not have a single professional female athlete in any sport whatsoever, period, Full stop. You would not have a single D1 female athlete or D3 female athlete or really high school varsity athlete because the men would get all the spots. That is reality. Yes. Yeah.
Clay Travis
So this is supposedly a super smart show, right? Filled with people that think they are smarter than you and me and everyone else. And his argument basically boils down to well, we don't really know if there's any competitive advantage and therefore men who identify as women should be able to compete in women's sports. And anybody who's arguing otherwise isn't paying attention to the data. They just lie and they just lie blatantly. And I think it's important to share with you what they are producing. This isn't some off the cuff take. This is a produced a written an entire segment defined as men who identify as women deserve to play women's sports. And I will reiterate again, no one out there that I've heard I played when I was in the 1980s playing baseball in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. There were girls playing in our league when we were 10 or 11 years old. That's been happening for a long time. Talented female athletes who want to compete pre puberty or even are able to compete post puberty, I have no issue with. They can't because testosterone is real. Men are athletically bigger, stronger and faster than women. Which is why we have divided men and women's sports since time immemorial. So long as I can remember competition existing.
Buck Sexton
Why have, why have age differences? There are, I mean there are six, there are 16 year old, there are 14 year olds who are better at. I'll just take a sport. I know. Well, I know 14 year old, I know 12 year olds that have played tennis. You know, I actually played against like when I was a kid and I got absolutely smoked and destroyed by the way. She was like a top tennis Russian 13 and under girl and I was like 15, you know, but I was at a tennis academy and we were, you know, you just sort of play every. Absolutely destroyed me by the way. And I'm not, you know, particularly good tennis player, but I'm okay, but I was several years older and this was a girl. But does that mean then we shouldn't have age? You know what I mean? If, if the best 12 year old in the world can beat the best, well, can beat college players, which is true. Or at least close to maybe can beat high school players. Not really college players could be high school players. Why do we have age segregation in sports?
Clay Travis
Totally true.
Buck Sexton
All these arguments, if it's not always true, they act like it's not true. And this is the fundamental flaw in their entire argument that makes the thing just laughable and absurd. But they're staying on. You know what I think? Good. Stay, stay on this one we will continue to make them eat their cooking on this. We're going to continue to make them asleep in the bed that they have made on this on the left of the Democrats because they're insane and 80% of the country actually knows it and 60% of the country will vote based on the fact that this is completely crazy. Hosted by Premiere Networks, "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show" delves into the most pressing issues in news, politics, and current events with a blend of intelligence and humor. In the April 7, 2025 episode, Clay and Buck explore the ongoing tariff wars, economic forecasts, violent crime disparities, and the contentious topic of transgender athletes in sports.
A. US Tariff Strategy Under President Trump
The episode opens with a deep dive into President Trump's aggressive stance on tariffs, which he asserts is aimed at rectifying unfair global trade practices, particularly with China. Buck Sexton outlines the current scenario:
Buck Sexton [04:00]: "Tariff wars, recession fears, and stubborn inflation. No wonder gold has been hitting all-time highs in volatile markets like right now."
B. International Response and Trade Negotiations
Clay emphasizes the global reactions to the US tariffs, highlighting that over 50 countries, including Taiwan, India, Israel, Vietnam, and Cambodia, have approached President Trump to negotiate and eliminate their own tariffs.
Clay Travis [04:30]: "Taiwan has already said that it will eliminate all tariffs. So has India, Israel, Vietnam, Cambodia. They are going to zero tariffs, zero trade barriers."
C. Economic Implications and Market Responses
The discussion shifts to the stock market's fluctuating behavior due to these tariff implementations. Clay reassures listeners about the resilience of the economy, drawing parallels to historical economic maneuvers.
Clay Travis [06:03]: "Trump came in recognizing there were three profoundly important things going the wrong direction in this country... the border, the national debt, and the unfair global trade economy."
Buck underscores the emotional aspect of stock market investments, cautioning against panic-driven decisions.
Buck Sexton [09:35]: "Stocks are a poor choice because the emotion gets the better of them."
A. Current Market Trends
Clay provides an update on the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average, noting minor fluctuations but overall stability.
Clay Travis [61:50]: "The S&P 500 is up for the day by around 0.4%. The Dow is down about 140 points."
B. Historical Comparisons and Future Outlook
Buck references historical figures like Warren Buffett and economic periods like the Reagan era to contextualize present market behaviors and future expectations.
Buck Sexton [14:33]: "Look at when Reagan had to tame inflation, America went on a 20-year run of prosperity."
C. Inflation and Consumer Costs
Clay discusses the impact of inflation on everyday goods, citing significant decreases in gas and egg prices as positive indicators.
Clay Travis [12:15]: "Price of gas is going to go under $3... Price of eggs down about 50%."
A. Texas High School Stabbing Incident
Clay and Buck address a tragic incident in Texas where a 17-year-old male student, Carmelo Anthony (not the basketball player), stabbed another peer, Austin Metcalf, resulting in his death. The conversation emphasizes the racial dynamics and societal implications.
Clay Travis [40:23]: "The individual who was stabbed, Austin Metcalf, was an 11th grader... the kid that did the stabbing was a black kid."
B. GoFundMe Controversy and Racial Bias
The hosts critique the platform GoFundMe for allowing fundraising for the aggressor, highlighting perceived racial biases in media coverage and public response.
Buck Sexton [48:23]: "GoFundMe being a bunch run by left-wing communists... hurting one side to benefit the other."
C. Societal Factors: Fatherlessness and Community Impact
Clay links the high rates of violent crime among young black men to broader societal issues, including fatherlessness and community instability.
Clay Travis [50:20]: "The absence of men, absence of dads, leads young men to be far more likely to be violent."
A. Debate on Transgender Athletes in Women's Sports
A significant portion of the episode is dedicated to the contentious issue of transgender women participating in women's sports. Clay and Buck argue that biological differences post-puberty confer inherent advantages to transgender women, undermining fair competition.
Clay Travis [71:47]: "Testosterone is real. Men are athletically bigger, stronger, and faster than women."
B. Critique of Media Perspectives
The hosts express frustration with media figures like John Oliver and Neil deGrasse Tyson for promoting what they perceive as unfounded arguments supporting transgender athletes' participation without solid scientific backing.
Clay Travis [72:57]: "This is supposed to be a super smart show... you would not have a single female athlete in any sport whatsoever."
C. Historical and Biological Context
Clay references personal coaching experiences and biological science to reinforce their stance, emphasizing that pre-puberty competition does not present the same issues as post-puberty athletic participation.
Clay Travis [69:06]: "Testosterone starts to come in when boys hit puberty... an overwhelming difference."
A. Economic Confidence Amidst Uncertainty
Despite market volatility, Clay and Buck maintain optimism about Trump's economic strategies, suggesting that long-term outcomes will benefit American trade and economic stability.
Buck Sexton [35:53]: "Let the man cook. Let him do his thing. Let's see where it goes."
B. Personal Predictions and Commitments
Clay makes a bold prediction, pledging to wear a clown nose on October 7, 2026, if specific economic downturns occur, underscoring his confidence in Trump’s economic plans.
Clay Travis [06:03]: "If inflation is up and the stock market prices are lower... then I will wear a clown nose."
