Welcome in everybody to the Wednesday edition of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show. Has Trump already won the Iran war? The negotiations between the Mueller regime and the Trumpster are going fast and furious already. What is the outcome going to be here? We will discuss that with all of you. A lot changing there in real time. Speaking of changing in real time, the situation at the airport looks like ice riding to the rescue of TSA and a brilliant move. Thank you, Linda from Arizona, who even got, as we mentioned, a shout out of sorts on the Jimmy Kimmel program to let you know just how much Linda from Arizona tell you guys when you call us, and we always say to you, it's just you, me, Clay and a few million of our closest friends. It really is true. There are people from Alaska to Miami, from Maine down to Arizona or Southern California who are listening to this program. So that's not to psych anybody out, it's to psych you up. You really do have a voice that so many of your fellow Americans can hear.
Buck Sexton
Yeah. And I would just also point out, and I've been talking about this for 20 years on radio, be ready to talk. The number of callers that start with us. I give credit to Linda. She had a great idea, but she also was ready to go. If it's someone whose name is different than yours, if it's someone whose state is different than yours, start talking. No one knows who you are, your argument is going to carry the day. If you begin your argument by saying, oh, are you talking? Am I on? Is it like just prepare. Every time we say, hey, we're going to go to a caller, start talking. The worst case scenario is you're talking into a phone that nobody else is hearing. Best case scenario, you're talking to millions of people and you've hit the ground running and you're already making your point and you have already prepared for it. Buck, I've told you this. I'm not just speaking as a radio host. When I was a kid, I called into local sports talk radio in Nashville. I know what it's like to be sitting there on the phone, nervous, anticipating, excited, wanting to do a good job. I was 12 years old. I was 10 years old. I was calling in to give sports takes in Nashville back in the day. Somewhere there may be tapes of those. I was ready to go. I didn't care if you got my name right. I didn't care if you got my city right. I'm going to roll and tell you exactly what I think.
Clay Travis
It's funny. I've done media training for friends, including some who now work professionally in the industry but had never done it before. And one of the first things I said to them all the time was as soon as it is your turn to talk, it is go. It is, gentlemen, start your engines. It is accelerator. It is not. Well, you know, very important people make decisions about the value of your contribution immediately. And they've basically come to a conclusion within the first 10 seconds as to whether you sound like, you know, what the heck is going on. That's a side note. Media training for the day that we weren't planning for our esteemed callers, but there you go. But I bring all that up about ICE because we are scheduled to have Tom Holman on in the third hour of the program. So you got to stick with us here. We're going to cover a lot of news. We're going to get to Tom Holman. We also, we have Senator, we have Senator Cassidy joining us too. Is, am I right in that one?
Buck Sexton
Yes, yes. Senator Cassidy joining us as well. And maybe surprise guests, maybe some invites out.
Clay Travis
Yeah, something pretty interesting going on. We're spicing it up with the guests these days. And let's just say we are willing to reach across the aisle. Plenty, plenty of reaching across the aisle. So with that all said, we'll dive into the situation of ICE at the airports with Tom Holman. Also immigration enforcement operations. One of the most important, I would perhaps argue, after keeping the economy booming, the most important promise of the Trump administration. Tom is the guy. He is the man. He is the one who we want to ask all these questions to. So we will have him for you. But Clay, let's start with Trump commander in chief and his Department of War here, looking at all of the latest. And if you go with the, with the Wall Street Journal saying here, Iran playing hardball, mediators push for talks with the U.S. the Iranians have received a 15 point plan from us to end the war which is basically lays out all the Trump administration demands. Tehran is saying they reject the proposal and have put out their own conditions for a deal, including reparations and recognition of Iranian sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz. You got. Arab states are alarmed by Trump's eagerness to do a deal. According to the Wall Street Journal here, leaders of Saudi Arabia, UAE lobbying Trump to stick with the war until Iran is sufficiently weakened. Clay, this has, we have military supremacy, but this is now turning into a contest of wills influenced by, by political pressures here and abroad.
Buck Sexton
I don't believe that Iran has any ability to make any demands whatsoever. And I actually, I can't believe this, Buck. But I'm going to give credit to the New York Times this morning because I was reading the New York Times editorial page and they actually have an editorial saying things are going really good in Iran and many people just don't really understand or are unwilling to, to discuss how things are going. This is by Brett Stevens. The headline Buck is the war is going better than you think. New York Times editorial today. And this is a great open and I think it's important. I can't believe I'm giving credit to the New York Times, but I read them every day and so sometimes I read some and I say, well, I wasn't really expecting this opening paragraph of the editorial page in the New York Times today from this article. Most Americans probably don't look back at March of 2012 if they remember it at all and think of terrifyingly high gas prices in the month when the Hunger Games ruled the box office and President Barack Obama was on his way to a comfortable reelection. This is interesting, Buck. The price of Brent crude closed the month around $123 a barrel. That would be about $175 a barrel in today's dollars. Right now. The price of oil and gas a barrel, $88. And that is basically roughly $95 in adjusted inflation. You know, numbers. So perspective on the price of oil and gas. It is cheaper today than it has been for much of the 21st century when adjusted for inflation. And the reason why I bring it up, and I thought it was a good editorial, is the only thing you can say negative about this action in Iran so far is the oil prices because the actual casualties he runs through. Brett Stevens does a really good job talking about all the military actions and the loss of material and the loss of men is virtually nonexistent.
Clay Travis
Then you also have this shocker from over on ms, now, the newly rebranded msnbc.
Buck Sexton
Yes.
Clay Travis
Where Clay, my boy, as you call
Buck Sexton
him, I saw this morning, thought about you. Yes, this.
Clay Travis
This is pretty wild, everybody. Joe Scarborough, in a. In a random moment of sanity, deciding to really rake Chuck Schumer over the coals for a minute on this one. Mika tried to come in. She was like, no, stop. I love Schumer.
Tom Homan
Stop it.
Clay Travis
Stop it. And Joe's like, I can't, honey, I'm sorry. I've got to be tough here. But Joe saying, look, isn't it a good thing that the worst terrorist regime on the planet has had its entire military apparatus destroyed with incredibly low level of loss from the United States? Side play. Cut 1. Listen to this exchange.
Senator Bill Cassidy
No, hold a second. You gotta answer my question first.
Clay Travis
Yeah.
Senator Bill Cassidy
Is it a good thing that. That Iran, and I think you would agree with me, epicenter of terrorism in the world since 1979. Is it good that their military infrastructure is being degraded?
Clay Travis
The degree that it is?
Senator Bill Cassidy
Yes or no?
Clay Travis
It's.
Senator Bill Cassidy
It's.
Clay Travis
You can't. Because it's a premature question. What is going to happen in the next several months?
Senator Bill Cassidy
No, no, I can ask that question. I've said, no, no, no, I can't. So you have a military side, but I can show you my chart, but I think I threw it away. You have the military side, you have the political side. I'm simply asking, on the military side,
Clay Travis
is it good, regardless of whether we
Senator Bill Cassidy
agree with going in or not, is it good that Iran's military infrastructure has been serious?
Clay Travis
Again, I have to tell you, Joe, first, you can't. What's going to happen three months from now? Is it worth it? What's going to happen? Will the world economy collapse? Will something happen even worse? Will the whole energy infrastructure of the world go up in smoke? Clay, can we just.
Senator Bill Cassidy
What?
Clay Travis
What a weaselly little position. Schumer says, well, what do we do in three months? What happens in 10 years? In the long run, we're all dead. You're like, hold on a second. This is a very straightforward question. Are you, Chuck Schumer, happy that Iran is getting its military's ass kicked thoroughly? And Chuck Schumer will not say yes. That's Democrats in a nutshell.
Buck Sexton
Basically, Buck. They do not have a military anymore. And so the question is, Chuck Schumer, who claims to be a friend of Israel, is it better or worse that Iran has no ability whatsoever to have a navy, an air force, or effectively any ballistic missiles that they can launch anywhere? And increasingly, fewer and fewer drones. And Chuck Schumer doesn't have an answer. And your boy Joe Scarborough has signed a contract extension through 2029. So you got several more years to be able to, to listen to that melodic tone of Joe Scarborough. And I do think we haven't talked about this a great deal, but Iran managed to fire a couple of missiles that traveled nearly to Europe and it was about twice as far as the range that they claimed they had the ability to, to reach. There's also again, New York Times, couple of different stories. There's a big article that Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, MBS has been encouraging more strikes from President Trump on Iran. And so I just, I look at all this and as we are coming up on three weeks or whatever it's been, Buck, I don't think this operation could have gone much better. Now again, I wish 13 people hadn't lost their lives. But this same article that I talked about in the New York Times, and I'm giving them credit, it, it takes us back. Do you remember when we had the 1991 Operation Desert Storm, which is considered, as he says, one of the most brilliant military successes of the United States? The US lost 75 aircraft, 42 of them in combat. For those of you who remember back in 1991, Operation Desert Storm, so far we have lost four man to aircraft, three to friendly fire, one in an accident. Not a single one of our planes has been knocked down by Iran, considered to be the greatest military operation. For those of you remember it, in most of our lives, Operation Desert Storm was infinitely, infinitely more destructive to our material and our casualties. And here's another one, Buck. Most people don't even talk about the invasion of Panama. The United States lost 23 soldiers, 325 more wounded in the invasion of Panama back in 1989, 1990. Most people don't even remember that it was a higher casualty event so far than what we have done to Iran. I think it's important to contextualize all of these things and understand that the attacks on the success of this operation are entirely political and in no way justified by what the actual on the ground result has been so far. And I think, Buck, that's why when Chuck Schumer was asked about it, he had to immediately go into, well, we don't know what the long range impact, of course not. We don't know what the long range impact of anything is. We don't know what the long range impact of Trump's election in 2024 was. We don't know what the long range impact of Obama's eight years. It takes 100 years to find out exactly what the long range impact is. But we try to judge things currently based on the data we have and all of that is extremely positive.
Clay Travis
Well, you know, I just, this would be like if someone asked Chuck Schumer, you know, hey, this guy just won the lottery and it's going to change his life forever. Financially, isn't it a great thing? Schumer's like, well, that depends. It could put stress on his family. Maybe he makes a purchase of a boat and the boat gets into a big accident and then he wishes he didn't even have that money. Okay, man, I think winning the lottery is usually a good thing for people, you know, or at least they're happy to have some money. Can we just, can we just agree on that? Nope, Schumer won't do it. Is Iran getting its ass, its military's ass kicked a good thing or not? Schumer will not say. It just, it summarizes where the Democrats are on all this for you. All right, you know the name Preborn if you've been with us for any period of time. This is an incredible organization that is saving the lives of unborn babies day in and day out. For 20 plus years they've been doing this at preborn clinics. Expectant mothers walk through the door. They receive compassion, they receive care, and they receive so many times that godly connection between mother and child from that ultrasound process. Because more than 80% of the time when that mother to be gets that free ultrasound from preborn, she chooses life. This is how lives are saved. This March, Preborn is attempting to save the lives of 6,800 babies. But it will take thousands of people this month to say yes to an ask. Here's that ask. Pause your busy day for just a moment and consider saying yes to a gift of just $28. That's the cost of one ultrasound. $140 helps five mothers. Second hour of welcome back. It's my fault. I'm sorry. It's clay. Go for it.
Buck Sexton
In the second hour of the program. I think we mentioned this going to break that. We've got Senator bill Castle Cassidy at 2:2 and then Tom Homan at 2:30. But in this hour it is just us hanging out with you and Buck. I wanted to dive into this story because we talked about it some yesterday and I think it is kind of a perfect example of everything having to do with the disaster in many big cities when it comes to illegal immigrants and crime. But before we get to that, I had, I had asked our team producer Greg in particular, we were talking in the first hour about some of the Democrat messaging on Iran and how even the New York Times has been writing, hey, things are going really well compared to Desert Storm and compared to, for instance, Panama. But I did want to play for you. We played Chuck Schumer refusing to answer a question from Joe Scarborough about how he would assess things going and is it basically a good thing that the Ayatollah is Gone. And that the Iranian navy doesn't exist anymore and that the Air Force has basically been wiped out. Remember, it was only last year. This is from June 2nd of 2025, before the 1st bombing of Iran by our. By the American military. This was Chuck Schumer taunting Trump for not being tough enough on Iran. Cut 33.
Clay Travis
When it comes to negotiating with the terrorist government of Iran, Trump's all over the lot. One day sounds tough, the next day he's backing off. And now all of a sudden we find out that Witkoff and Rubio are negotiating a secret side deal with Iran. What kind of bull is this? They're going to sound tough in public and then have a side deal that lets Iran get away with everything. That's outrageous. We need to make that side deal public. Any side deal should be before Congress and most importantly, the people. If Taco Trump is already folding, the American public should know about it. No side deals.
Buck Sexton
Okay, so Trump was so weak that he was already folding. He then bombed Iran. Now he's taken out the Ayatollah and Schumer can't answer basic questions. Make sure we share that cut on video from the Clay and Buck feed, because I do think it's important to keep in mind just how unintelligible Democrat arguments are as it pertains to what should happen with Iran. Okay, let's go to Chicago and a couple of updating details here. We are expecting a White House press conference with Caroline Levitt at some point in time. And there is a lot of coverage that's been going on this social media addiction trial. For those of you who have been paying attention to that, Fox News, Fox Business is their lead story right now. They're expecting a verdict from an LA court over that lawsuit that was filed on social media. And we will get to that to the extent that there is anything that comes out of it. But I did want to go back to Chicago. Young freshman in college, Sheridan Gorman, was on the just in downtown Chicago walking along a public park, and she was murdered by a Venezuelan illegal immigrant who had already been arrested twice. And it's gotten a lot of attention on audio and video media like this one. And it's so much so that now a lot of Democrats in Chicago were having to address this, particularly J.B. pritzker, who traveled to Minneapolis to express his remorse over the deaths of the the two individuals there at the protests. And now a lot of people are talking about it in Chicago and they're really just kind of telling you, yeah, we don't really care about the life of young college students if they are taken by illegal immigrants. Here is. Listen to this. Chicago alder woman Maria Haddon says the murdered Loyola student Sheridan Gorman, well, she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and she might have startled the illegal immigrant who killed her. This is real from Monday. Video posted to social media.
Tom Homan
They go out on the pier, they walk around.
Martha Stewart
So the kids were out doing normal, normal things people do in the neighborhood. And it sounds like this might have been a wrong place, wrong time, running into a person who had a gun. They might have startled this person at the end of the pier unintentionally.
Buck Sexton
Might have. But can you believe that's real? They might have startled the person at the end of the pier unintentionally. And the illegal immigrant who killed this young, innocent college student, well, he was just startled. I can't believe that's real. Here is. But it gets. It gets just as bad, if not worse. J.B. pritzker, governor of Illinois, says the murder of Sheridan Gorman is Donald Trump's fault. Fault. Cut 20. Yeah, sorry. I don't know what happened to that audio. We could barely hear it ourselves. I don't know what the issue was, is that I'm assuming that that is something on our end and not the actual audio. Uh, there's more. Here is Brandon Johnson, the mayor of Chicago asked directly, will you apologize to Sheridan Gorman's family for the policies that got her murdered? Uh, here is what the mayor said.
Clay Travis
Apologize to Sheridan's parents for the policies that you promoted that have. That would directly cause her death. That suspect would not be in the city, would not be in the country. But for your policies, will you take this opportunity to apologize? Well, again, I believe that we're all.
Buck Sexton
We're all grieving the loss of Sheridan and other folks who have lost their lives because of sense violence.
Clay Travis
And let's just be very clear between
Buck Sexton
the Safety act and the Welcoming City Ordinance. Welcoming City ordinance was passed 40 years
Clay Travis
ago by the first black mayor in the history of Chicago. And the Safety act was passed under the governor. At that time, it was Republican Governor Rauner. Thank you for your question. Hi, Bear.
Buck Sexton
Okay, so no apology at all. They don't care about the death of this young girl, this college student, by and large, Buck, because the person who did it was an illegal immigrant who should have not been in this country at all. He was from Venezuela. He was arrested when he came into the country. He was then arrested for committing a crime in the country. He should not have been here at all. If he were not here and he came across when the wide open border was here under Joe Biden. If this border had been sealed, Sheridan Gorman would still be alive. There are a lot of people like her. This is a Lake and Riley like situation just in Illinois instead of Georgia.
Clay Travis
This is an acceptable loss to Democrats. That is the truth. They could stop this from happening and they choose not to. It's more important to the mass of the Democrat base, the mass of the Democrat voter to think that they're good people, they're not racist, they're not xenophobic, they're inclusive. America's a nation of immigrants. It's more important for them to feel those bumper sticker slogans coursing through their veins day in and day out than to protect Americans from being killed on the street for no reason whatsoever or be raped or be robbed or carjacked or any number of things. They make a decision every day in favor of those things continuing to happen so that we can have illegals, and let's be very specific about this too, Clay. Not just illegals in general, illegals who have committed serious crimes and have orders of deportation outstanding against them. Democrats do not want those individuals to leave the country. Like I said, we are miles and miles away from gentle Abuela who has been here for 30 years and you know, running a local business somewhere. And, you know, maybe we could figure something out. No, no, no. That's not what we're talking about. That's not even right now in Minneapolis, the Interrupters, whatever they call themselves, who were getting in the way of ICE operations, they were stopping ICE and they were told this and they don't care. They were told this by the ICE officials. They were told this from the news. It was true. Top security risks. People who are preying on other human beings who have no right to be in this country in the first place. Democrats don't want them to be sent out of the country. This is how devoted to this it really is. Illegals being able to stay in America has become a religious belief for Democrats. And it also, of course, has a long term political strategic tie in of making this a one party state by transforming the demographics of America so that we have no cultural or historical or ideological cohesion. We're just some, you know, polyglot stop by station welfare ward and economic unit, you know, economic union that has nothing, nothing holding it together other than whoever's in charge, whoever's running the system.
Buck Sexton
Yeah, look, I think the positive is we are driving down violent crime and the reality is, if we had not had a wide open southern border, the violent crime rate would be much lower and unfortunately, there would be a lot more people alive today. Can you imagine, Buck? I mean, just strip away all of this for a moment. Can you imagine what it's like to send your 18 year old off to college in a city like Chicago? You've spent your whole life putting all of your love into her or him. I'm about to send a kid off to college in August of, of this year coming up, and she just gets murdered in cold blood in a park in Chicago, did absolutely nothing wrong. It's not even like you can go back and deconstruct what happened to her and say, boy, if she had just not done this, if she had just not done that, she went for a walk in a fricking park. You know, Lake and Riley went for a jog in a park. Those of us out there, it's one thing if you get into a bar fight or you get into a scuffle and awful things happen. You can go back and say, boy, I wish they hadn't made that choice. Go to a park and you're dead because illegals killed you. Illegals that had already been arrested multiple times and should have never been in this country. I, I, I just find it to be so thin, thoroughly reprehensible that we could be in this situation at all. And the fact that Democrats won't address it in any way or we'll see if we can get the audio back up. The fact that J.B. pritzker's response to a college kid getting murdered in a park in Chicago is to say Donald Trump's responsible for it.
Clay Travis
Well, this is all they have, is now they are the burglar who when caught, says, you are stealing the stuff. That's all they've got. They have nothing to argue here that makes any sense. So they just have to go on offense. They have to say everything is Trump's fault. That's the default for everything. Everything bad is Trump's fault. No matter how obvious it is that Trump is actually trying to fix it and that they, the Democrats, are making choices that make the bad thing happen and they're just going to keep doing this. They are dug in on this, Clay. They're dug in on it with the crime thing, with Trump's policy of using federal law enforcement to help out and bring down the violent crime rate. This is now proven, this is a proven approach to saving people's lives in every city and particularly those high Crime cities with high minority populations that are getting. That's where a lot of the victims of the crimes are coming from. And yes, by the way, it's also where a lot of the perpetrators of the crime are coming from. Clay, you might have seen this. This is data that was shared out yesterday in New York City.
Buck Sexton
The first. I couldn't.
Clay Travis
The first nine months last night, the first nine months of. And this was a.gov website. So I mean, this is like the data is coming from a government site. First nine months of 2025, there were 356 shootings in New York City with a black perpetrator, two with a white perpetrator. City of 8.5 million people, 356 shootings, black perpetrator, black person doing the shooting, two involved white individuals, 356 to two. And keep in mind, the black population of New York city is about 20% of the city. So that's, you know, what are we just, what do we just say about that statistic? What is the conversation supposed to be in New York City when you're talking about the enforcement of crime? I'm sorry, the enforcement of law to deal with crime. Yes. You're going to have a disparate impact on the black community. That is a fact. You're also going to save a disparate number of black lives. And the 99% of law abiding black New Yorkers benefit from just dealing with the reality of, yes, there are far more violent crimes committed by blacks in New York City than any other group. Yes, that is the, that is the fact. That is the reality. And this is what Democrats never want to touch, never want to deal with.
Buck Sexton
Well, that's also why when Chuck Schumer said, oh, I guess Joe Biden as well, Joe Biden in particular, that white supremacy was the number one danger facing the country. That was that. That was the Democrat argument. Yeah, that's just frankly not true at all. All right, we'll take some of your calls and we'll continue to roll here. We're expecting a press conference in the White House starting soon, so we will see what the updates are there. In the meantime, it's Wednesday, hump day. But you could. On the Sunday Hang with Clay and Buck podcast.
Clay Travis
Welcome back into Clay and Buck while we're tracking down Tom Homan. Look, if he's busy, he's got to save the country. He can call us whenever he wants. So he's got to take a rain check. No problem. But we'll get him soon. If not now, I would say the following Clay. Yesterday the Supreme Court heard arguments about something that very much affects the border has to do with whether you can. Well, what's at issue here is a policy that was started about a decade ago, I think it was a little more where when they would have ports of entry overwhelmed, they would stop people inside of Mexico still and be like, look, we're not, we're not taking any more here. And you'd have to wait in Mexico until your number was called, so to speak. And there's not, there's a lawsuit submitted all the way to the Supreme Court where no surprise, open border groups and all the rest, they want it to be you. They can't have this policy in place. It's currently not active, by the way. But it could be if there were surges at the border. But they want to be able to say this is, by the way, the case is Nome versus Al Oltro Lado. The practice is called metering, which is a turnback policy. Yeah, started, started under actually the Obama administration and because they got. They had such a crazy situation going on at the ports of entry at the very end of the Obama administration and then the Trump administration expanded it. No surprise there. So they would stop people before they could actually set foot on U.S. soil, say, sorry, not allowed. And the lawsuit, Clay, is whether because under the Immigration and Nationality act, non citizens are allowed to apply for asylum if they are physically present in the US this reminds you ever see the old cartoons where like the banditos or the bad guys would slide across the border from Texas into, into Mexico and then the sheriff, you know, that's it. You're not on, you're not on US Terra firma anymore. And you know, then they could say, haha, you can't do anything about it. This is a similar situation, except it's stopping them before they're on US Soil. And the immigrants rights group Al Oltro Lado and a bunch of individual asylum seekers also brought this suit saying hey, we're basically in America, so we should be able to, if we get all the way to the border, we should be able to be covered under in America as an on US soil. I think the court's going to come down 6, 3 and say no, actually in America means in America. And we have now from dhs, Tom Holman with us. Tom, thanks for making the time. I don't know if you heard my, my preamble there for a second, but can, can you just explain to people real quick this physically present in the United States for asylum seekers. What is this metering policy? How'd this get going?
Tom Homan
I'm sorry. I just got on. My flight was late. I just got into a room here. I didn't hear that. Clay. I'm sorry.
Clay Travis
Oh no, it's Buck. It's okay. So there's a, there's a under the immigrate. Anyway, you know what, just tell me this let's actually jump into the airport thing because that's what everybody cares about. I was trying to do a elegant radio turn there, but instead let's just get to what everyone cares about, which is ice in the airports. How's this going? What are the next steps? What are you seeing first bucks.
Tom Homan
Buck Saxon. I'm glad I'm talking. I don't know what mountain talk to. I got, I got more jobs than Marco Rubio. Hey, look, bottom line is what's happening in airports is was Trump's, President Trump's idea, who called me up in less than 24 hours with the flannigo. I think it's a brilliant idea. Idea. But look, you know that ISIS being paid. President Trump asked us get to the airports to help because a lot of TSA workers are calling in or they're just plain quitting. So we're going up to two things. Number one, we're going to shore up the security of that airport and keep the airways safe and we're going to support tsa. So jobs that don't require like the X ray training, other security jobs, whether it's checking identification, whether it's, you know, luggage, whether it's, you know, providing security around the checkpoints, whether it's you know, you know, whatever TSA needs us to do to move those lines quicker and to keep security at the highest level, that's what we're doing. But I want to add one more thing. I see a lot of stories about ICE immigration enforcement, airports. No, you're damn right. Our purpose there to help TSA provide security and get people to checkpoints. However, these HSI officers and ERA officers, they see illegal activity, they're going to absolutely take action. So, yeah, we're doing a little bit of everything right now.
Buck Sexton
Do you expect that. This is Clay. Thanks for coming on. You were just talking with Buck. I know how busy you are. Do you expect. You just said, you're damn right. Yeah, you just said you're damn right. Do you expect that TSA will be able to help you with ice, arrest people? Because. And you tell me if I'm wrong here, but what I think about is people are showing up with IDs. We know exactly who they are. It seems like it could potentially be a very easy place to figure out if you're arresting the right guys or gals.
Tom Homan
Oh, you want to talk about target enforcement operators? Absolutely. Because everybody's got to show 90 come through and we can, you know, every special agent, ERA officer has a cell phone with the capability of accessing our databases. So, yeah, you know, this work, we're going enforce immigration law. When we see it look like table we get a lead or target lead, you know, from tsa saying we got information on this one or that one. Yeah, we're going to do. We're going to do our job. We're going to do, you know, open a criminal investigation whether, you know, if we got reasonable suspicion to question somebody or probable calls to arrest somebody. That's exactly what we're going to do. We're going to work with our brothers and sisters and TSA to keep that airport safe. And if someone's transverse from the airport that not in the country, we find out about it and we have reasonable suspicion, you know, that we're going to, we're going to take enforcement action. We're absolutely going to do that.
Buck Sexton
We're talking to Tom Holman. I don't know if you saw, but Philadelphia's district attorney, I believe his last name is Krasner, said threatened to arrest ICE agents at the airport. What's your reaction when you Hear Soros funded DA's making comments like that?
Tom Homan
It's ridiculous. And you know, bottom line is federal law always trumps local state law. So, you know, we're reforming our Duties as enacted by Congress. We're not making this up. We are enforcing immigration law. We're going to do without apology. I mean, I've been up on the Hill negotiating, trying to get this government back open, and they basically, they say they don't really want to abolish dice. They want to just reform Weiss. No, the language they're proposing, they want, you know, they just want to shut it down. They want to take tools wife and I'm not going to do that. They've been hamstrung for four years under Joe Biden. Now they're finally doing their duty. They're upholding the oath they took. They're enforcing laws that Congress wrote and was signed by president. And that's exactly what we're going to do. So, you know, I'm frustrated. They honestly see some sort of benefit on not funding the Department of Homeland Security. Right. We're in an elevated threat posture right now. And they're. And we got people from, you know, cybersecurity that aren't working. We got people, you know, the Coast Guard ain't being paid. We got people with no TSA not being paid, FEMA not being paid. These people are putting this country at great risk during an elevated threat posture. It's just unbelievable that they're not willing to come to the table and meet with us. I met with them. They talk about reform and immigration, but I've been explaining to them the policies of enforcement have not changed in 30 years. We had the same policies under Obama, under Clinton, under Bush 1 and Bush 2. So it's not a policy issue, it's an execution issue. And we fixed that. There were some problems in Minneapolis, and I went up there and President Trump asked me to go up there and address it. We addressed a few issues, but most of the men and women, 99%, are doing the right thing and we're on the right mission. But I'm not going to sit there and negotiate taking authorities or away from ICE to enforce the law. It's just, it's ridiculous. I'm tired of it.
Clay Travis
We're speaking to Tom Holman, border czar for this Trump White House. And Tom, can you speak to where are we in terms of illegal removals, deportations, one year and change into this administration? And what are expectations? What is on the horizon for deportations going forward? Is there a plan to ramp up? You know, so basically, how far have we come to this point and where are we going over the next year?
Tom Homan
Well, you know, last year we got about, you know, a little over 700,000 removals between the patrol and us. The closest year to that was under Obama administration in 2012 when I was in ERO. We remove 409,000. So we blew that out of the water. And, you know, I actually got a presidential rank award for that. You know how the Democrats have changed. I got an Award in 2012 for 409,000 removals and, you know, highest award available. Now all of a sudden, I can't. I'm not allowed to deport anybody. But, you know, if we have a 700,000, we're already making records. But we just brought 10,000 more. Well, not quite. We got a three, you know, almost at 10,000, but we're hiring 10,000 more enforcement officers, which is going to just increase those men and women on the street, the sanctuary cities and all this, all this crap going on. Yes, it's less efficient. We have to work harder. We have to work smarter because they won't give us access to the jails. But, you know, like with Minnesota, you know, it was terrible up there. But, you know, I went up there, I sat down with the governor, sat down with AG. I sat down the mayor, and I explained to them, you don't want. You don't want all 3,000 people in your street, then let me in a damn jail. Because one agent can arrest one bad guy in the jail, but when you release them, I got to send a whole few jobs team to find him. And because of all the hate and the threats up there, then we got to send a security team to back up the arrest team. So you got a dozen guys out there that could have done the job with one person in the jail. And we got unprecedented cooperation in the county jails throughout the state. We, you know, we got state prison system working with us. It made sense. It made sense because less people needed to do the job. But you know, in these sanctuary cities, that's what it is. Back in the day, when I was an agent, we had access to all the jails. One agent can arrest one bad guy, but they release them. Now we'll send six or seven people for officer safety reasons to find them, find someone doesn't want to be arrested, which is of course, much dangerous for the community, Danger for the more dangerous for the aliens. And anything that happened in street arrested. Much dangerous for the agents. But with 10,000 more agents will beat last year's number. But you know, things like, now we got agents at the airport now and rather than on the street in the. But you know, the priority right now is get the airport secure, move those lines through, and help our brothers and sisters in tsa. But soon as the shutdown ends, and I think it's going to come out to a reconciliation because this negotiation is going nowhere. I mean, we give a little bit, they take away a bunch. It's just. It's just ridiculous. So when we get the government back open, then I can get out there and get back to the main mission. But I want to be clear, we're going to leave a contingent at the airport because we got human trafficking through the airport, we got currency smuggling through the airport, we got aliens smuggling through the airport. We've always had a small footprint there. But what we're seeing now, we may have a bigger contingent there to enforce immigration law there, too.
Buck Sexton
We're talking to borders. Our ton. Tom Holman, you told us before that you thought there were 20 million illegals in the country after Biden opened the border and let everybody in. You just talked about. I think the number was 700,000. How many people do you think are voluntarily leaving? You know, people out there who see what's going on and just say, hey, maybe this is not the place for me. Do you have. I know there's been numbers out there, but what kind of sense do you have about voluntary departure?
Tom Homan
Well, according to DHS Data, it's over 2 million first year under Trump. Over 2 million either through the Home app. CBP. Home app or just leaving. CBP tracks a lot of people when they, you know, they land in foreign airports. But we don't really know who goes south to the border, travel south. But DHS and through some independent payment studies said about 2 million. I think the more and more. And let me tell you something about ICE operation, about the secure border. We have the most secure border ever. We got to give a lot of credit to what's happening, what ICE is doing in the streets right now, because we sent a clear message, there's no longer free ride. If you're in this country legally, we're looking for you. When the whole world sees ICE out there doing massive operations, that sends a strong message. Don't give your life savings to the cartel because you're not going to be released from the border like the Biden administration did. If you happen to get by the border patrol, we're looking for it, no more free ride. So I think, because what is doing nationwide is a big factor in why we had the most secured border in the history of this nation.
Buck Sexton
Tom Holman, Borders are. We know how busy you are. We Appreciate you. Anything else?
Clay Travis
Can I say something real quick?
Buck Sexton
Yeah.
Clay Travis
Just want to say something real quick, Tom, thank you for what you're doing, you know, and thank you for representing the men and women of ICE and DHS so well, with all the nonsense the Democrats have been trying. I just was watching some TV show last night totally maligning ice. You're a true professional. You're serving your country. And you know, thanks from, from me, from Clay and from the whole audience. We really appreciate you and all the men and women of ICE who are doing their job under the constitution of this country.
Tom Homan
Let me add one thing, that I appreciate those words. Thank you. But you know what? God bless the men, women of ICE and Borg. I was a Borgen. I know what they're dealing with. I was an ICE agent for a long time. I know what they're dealing with. I wish these members of Congress, rather than vilifying the men and women of ICE and calling them Nazis and the secret police, which just increases the threats against them, increases the violence against them. You know what? Grow set. Put a badge on your badge on your chest, put a gun on your hip and come out with us. See what they're dealing with and see what you have caused from the constant negative rhetoric and comparing them to the Nazis, which increases a threat against them, which increases the doxing against them, which has increased assaults over 1400%. So rather than sitting there calling us names, strap a gun to your hip, put a kevlar vest on and come do what we do and see if you can stand on the line. I guarantee you none of them can.
Clay Travis
Absolutely. God bless Tom to you and all those that you're. You're representing out there. Thank you so much, Clay.
Buck Sexton

Third hour of Clay and buck kicks off right now. Thanks everybody for being here with us. We are joined by Louisiana Senator Bill Cassidy. Senator Cassidy, appreciate you being here sir.
Senator Bill Cassidy
Hey guys, thanks for having me.
Clay Travis
Appreciate it very much. Let's, let's start with where you are on the DHS funding situation here. I Mean, I'm sure you want, you want TSA funded, but I'm not sure. I haven't checked in on New Orleans Airport, whether it's been affected at all. That would obviously be a big deal in your home state that you represent. But it looks like there might be a turning of the tide here. You now have ICE helping out, possibly even National Guard helping out. Do you think this changes the calculation for Democrats, or is this just going to continue on this brinksmanship ship where the American people who are trying to travel end up suffering?
Senator Bill Cassidy
I think Chuck Schumer thinks he's got a winning issue and he's going to ride that horse. And I am, I, you know, I'm a doctor, excuse the term, but I am urinated off. I mean, we got people waiting five hours to get through a line. We got TSA agents trying to pay their bills and haven't been paid for six weeks. And most, I mean, I think all the demands that the Democrats had have been met, okay? Then they pull back and say, we want more. It's like the Iranians with the Strait of Hormuz. They think they got a winning issue. They're going to continue to hold it hostage until they extract as much as they can. And they don't care the cost to the American traveler and they don't care the cost to the person who works for TSA or FEMA or Coast Guard. It is just, man, you just deserve to be angry, brother.
Buck Sexton
In your state. New Orleans, it has been among the worst of all airports that we've seen not far from you. Houston has also been bad. What are you hearing at the New Orleans airport for people out there that are maybe traveling to or from. It's a big tourist destination. It's spring break. What are you hearing from people at New Orleans about what they're able to do? What would you say to people that are going to be or thinking about traveling through New Orleans in the near future?
Senator Bill Cassidy
So first, the woman I spoke to who was going to come meet me after three hours standing in line, which stretched out into the parking garage, she missed her flight and said, I'm sorry I can't come see you. I talked to the airport administrator. Sunday and Monday are the busiest travel days. Usually by mid morning, things are kind of clearing up. And so if you're traveling out of Louis Armstrong Airport, try and get a later flight in the afternoon. If you're in the morning, go very early, particularly if you're on Sunday and Monday. But, but, you know, the very fact that we're having this conversation and Democrats agreed to a deal months ago and then they then pulled back and then they agreed again and then they pulled back. They don't want a deal, they want an issue. And the issue that they want continues to evolve, which makes me think what they really want is a political selling point, that somehow that they're the savior even though they're the ones screwing it up. Hey guys, this just really frustrating.
Buck Sexton
When do you think this gets resolved? I mean there seemed to be a little bit of optimism. But again, as we've mentioned, this is happening all over the country. We're hearing about it a lot if you had to guess. I mean it is a political issue now Democrats have decided to make it one. You may have heard we had the ICE suggestion help to emerge from this program from one of our callers. Where is this going and how do we fix it?
Senator Bill Cassidy
Well, the president's going to try and you know, for those positions that, that an ICE or a National Guard could help with the fellow that stands at the or sits at the exit so they make sure you don't double back in. Clearly, you know, one of the three of us could do that. Right. I mean that's just like, sorry, you can't do that. And so that won't require training. There's some other things that you know, the person sitting at the X ray machine, that person, she requires a lot of training. And so some things they can do and some things they can't. I think I was told at one point New Orleans airport had an 83% sick in rate and then somebody else told me 43% either way that's a lot of people to replace. And a lot of those are going to require at least some training. So I like the President trying to get out there, get ahead of it. I think we should. We're still going to have some problems.
Clay Travis
Can you just remind everybody, Senator, that what it is that the Democrats actually want, like what are the concessions that they are demanding? It seems to me like they essentially want to be able to call the shots with an executive law enforcement branch or the law enforcement function of an executive branch agency and they're just using this issue. It's like they're taking travelers hostage or at least their time hostage until they can get what they want.
Senator Bill Cassidy
Yeah, it really is remarkable. They don't want funding for ICE and they don't want any money to like transport somebody here illegally back to their home country. Now in the working families tax cuts bill we actually Republicans anticipated they might do this in the future. And so we increased the funding back then for ICE to an amount sufficient to pay for ICE operations, even if Democrats pull this trick. So we can actually, you know, navigate that. That's, you know, that we thought ahead, so we can navigate that. But they also want the. They also want the ICE agents not to have to wear a mask. Now, the problem with that is if you get a facial image, you can dox the person. And then, as somebody points out, they've got their street brigades who will then go out and terrorize the person, his family, her children. They will follow them to their home. We know that because in Portland, that's what the kind of radical left street brigade did to federal agents in Portland and harassed the heck out of the family. So the mask are protecting the families of the agents. Tom Homan said, listen, we can put numbers on their outfits. If you want to know who's responsible for an action, you'll put a number up there, 1, 2, 3, 4. And it'll be number 1234. And we can trace that number back if someone behaves inappropriately. So I think what they really want in that case is to intimidate the officer and their family. They also want body cams. The administration, the White House has said, we'll give you body cams. We'll increase the money going for body cams. We want to be able to keep the film. We'll keep the film. So the demands are being met, except for the demands which would put the safety of the families at risk. And those are the ones they're dug in on, which, kind of like you really want the families at risk. But that's what they want.
Buck Sexton
We're talking to Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana. You are working on a bill that is trying to get overall, the insider trading shutdown. This is something that is overwhelmingly popular with our audience. We hear about it all the time. Certainly, Nancy Pelosi has had the greatest success of anybody this side of Warren Buffett. What is the likelihood of a bill getting passed? What are you trying to do?
Senator Bill Cassidy
Yeah, we're trying to restore faith in Congress. Full disclosure, I'm running for reelection. One of my opponents, Congresswoman Letlow, has done extremely well in the stock market, including trading on stocks that in which the companies have appeared before a subcommittee upon which he serves. But. But this should be about restoring the fai, the American people. That Congress is not a place you come to do well financially. It's a place you come to do good for the nation and for your state and for your constituents. And it should be a place you come to do good. So the fact that Nancy Pelosi and her stock trading has become a punchline tells you the problem. That should not be a punchline. That people in Congress are using inside information or their families are. Someone said, well, it's her husband. Okay, Right. They never talk. They never have pillow talk. So I think this is just about making helping the American people, if you will restore the faith that you come here to do good for the American people, not to do well for yourself.

Senator, what are your thoughts on where the war with Iran stands right now? I know there's ongoing negotiation. The President is saying militarily, this has been an incredible display of our capabilities and has been very effective at degrading Iranian capabilities. Strait of Hormuz, is it open? Is it going to open soon? That's a big question. People have gas prices, obviously some concern there. Where do you come down on all of this?
Senator Bill Cassidy
Clearly, the Iranians sending a ballistic missile 2,500 miles towards our naval base. Diego Garcia shows us that they were developing ballistic missiles. They just declared it. They said they weren't and they obviously were next. They obviously were trying to get enriched uranium. And despite their denials, everyone knows they were doing it for a nuclear weapon. So you put the two together. They were trying to develop a nuclear weapon and they now have ballistic missiles that could go all throughout Europe and all throughout where many of our bases are. So the President's decision to go after them will be judged on a success. But the motivation behind it, to keep them from developing nuclear weaponries and to keep them from being able to deliver it, that seems to have been. Hmm, I see their point. It seems like that's the case after all, in terms of the Strait of Hormuz, our allies like UAE and the Europeans and the Saudi Arabians, it's going to be tough on them if Iran ends up controlling the Strait of Hormuz. And I have to think that the President, his administration are going to make sure that that doesn't happen.

We're talking to Senator Bill Cassidy. Okay. Chaos when it comes to college athletics. I know that you have a bill that you are working on there. A lot of people all over the country, particularly in your state of Louisiana, where Lane Kiffin is now the LSU football coach, are very focused on nil. Maybe might be a new basketball coach headed that way too. What. What say you? What's the goal?
Senator Bill Cassidy
First, I know that Clay loves Lane Kiffin. I'm sure that Clay just like has a poster of Lane in his bedroom.
Buck Sexton
I don't know that far.
Senator Bill Cassidy
So. So even people put it this way. Everybody, I think, thinks that the athletes should have had some revenue sharing. The universities are pulling in an incredible AM and they weren't sharing any of it. Tommy Tuberville, former coach at Auburn, is on my committee. He goes. He had been pushing for revenue sharing for the longest, and it's an open secret that payments were being made. So just bring them above the table, have some control over it. That sounds good. What's happened? And there's an athlete back home, College Temple, about 70 years old, but he has played basketball at LSU. A mentor to a lot of folks going through LSU. He'd tell kids, you stay at LSU, you keep your nose clean. At the end of four years, you got loyalty to an institution, they have loyalty to you. And if you're one of that 99.5% of athletes who don't have a pro career, you're going to have another career that sets you up for success. Now kids are changing schools, sometimes twice in one year. There's no loyalty to the athlete and no loyalty from the athlete to the community or the school. And they graduate, they don't go to the pros, and they end up with nothing. Sometimes not a degree. That has to stop. We got to take care of the athlete, the student athlete. I talked to Nick Saban about this. One of his kids transferred to another university, lost 56 credits. He was 18 credits away from graduating when he transferred. He lost 56 credits. Now, it's easy to imagine that young man never graduated. So he ends up doesn't play pros, doesn't have a degree, and no loyalty from the university. We're trying to make this. So it's about the student. The student knows the cost, the student does well. And it's not some agent enticing them into the transfer portal that ends up doing better.
Buck Sexton
Senator, we appreciate time. When is the primary in Louisiana?
Tom Homan

Buck Sexton
Oh, very soon.
Senator Bill Cassidy
Yeah, May 16th. I think it's like 55 days or something like that.
Tom Homan

Senator Bill Cassidy

Buck Sexton

Senator Bill Cassidy

This episode tackles the pressing stories in news and politics for March 25, 2026, focusing heavily on the Trump administration's foreign policy toward Iran, dramatic changes at U.S. airports due to DHS funding battles, and the explosive topic of crime, illegal immigration, and sanctuary cities. The hosts combine analysis, opinion, and interviews with key figures to break down what these developments mean for the country, all while maintaining the show’s direct, humorous, and sometimes combative tone.
"Is it a good thing that Iran, and I think you would agree with me, epicenter of terrorism in the world since 1979, is it good that their military infrastructure is being degraded?"
– Buck Sexton, quoting Sen. Cassidy, (11:36)
“Schumer will not say yes. That's Democrats in a nutshell.”
– Clay Travis (12:38)
"What's happening at airports was President Trump's idea... ICE is being paid. President Trump asked us get to the airports to help because a lot of TSA workers are calling in or just plain quitting."
– Tom Homan (42:13)
"We're going to shore up security... but these HSI officers and ERA officers, they see illegal activity, they're going to absolutely take action."
– Tom Homan (42:44)
“This is an acceptable loss to Democrats. That is the truth. They could stop this from happening and they choose not to.”
– Clay Travis (30:08)
"Illegals being able to stay in America has become a religious belief for Democrats."
– Buck Sexton (32:37)
“We're already making records... We're hiring 10,000 more enforcement officers... We'll beat last year's number.”
– Tom Homan (47:33)
"Strap a gun to your hip, put a kevlar vest on and come do what we do and see if you can stand on the line. I guarantee you none of them can."
– Tom Homan (53:27)
“They don't want funding for ICE and they don't want any money to like transport somebody here illegally back to their home country... They also want the ICE agents not to have to wear a mask.”
– Sen. Bill Cassidy (64:28)
"You come [to Congress] to do good for the nation and for your state and for your constituents. And it should be a place you come to do good."
– Sen. Bill Cassidy (67:01)
The show maintains its trademark snappy, irreverent, but serious tone as Clay and Buck move rapidly across major topics. They mix analysis, policy breakdowns, and confrontational humor, while guests like Tom Homan and Sen. Cassidy bring direct, sometimes fiery first-person insight from the front lines.
This episode gives listeners a fast-paced, assertive breakdown of the day’s top political stories: the Trump administration’s unyielding Iran policy, the logistics and politics of U.S. airport chaos, and the lethal consequences of sanctuary city approaches to crime and illegal immigration. With memorable interviews and a barrage of pointed criticism targeting Democrats’ handling of border and crime policy, the show offers ample ammunition for its audience—and a clear sense of how Travis and Sexton think the country should be run.
