Welcome in everybody to the Thursday edition of the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton show appreciate you being here with us from all 50 states and from all over the world. Very cool. How many of you tune in and we are grateful for each and every one of you. Now, Clay, we got the National Prayer Breakfast. Trump speaking about a whole range of issues. We'll bring that to you. They've talked about the situation in Minneapolis, the charging of nine individuals, the Department of Education issuing new guidance to protect the right to prayer in public schools. Trump spoke of that. More updates on the immigration ICE Minneapolis situation as well. Trump sat down with Tom Lamas of NBC News for an interview. Again, a whole range of subjects touched on there. A lot on Minneapolis and Trump's deployment of National Guard and the security situation in various cities. That voter ID question, Clay, and the bill that Republicans would like to get passed here to create more secure elections. No surprise Democrats are out on that. So we have a lot of policy and news from the policy world and from the Trump administration's latest to dove into. But we will start with this really just heartbreaking situation of Savannah Guthrie, a well known TV news broadcaster whose mother has been abducted. And we don't know much more in terms of details. She released a video trying to get to essentially the captor or captors as well as of course informing the public about what's happening here. I want you to listen. This is Savannah Guthrie released this out on social media and it has been on everyone's feed and on everyone's mind. Who's in the news cycle here in the last 24 hours? Play 28.
Podcast Announcer
Our mom is our heart and our home. She's 84 years old. Her health, her heart is fragile. She lives in constant pain. She is without any medicine. She needs it to survive and she needs it not to suffer. We too have heard the reports about a ransom letter in the media. As a family, we are doing everything that we can. We are ready to talk. However, we live in a world where voices and images are easily manipulated. We need to know without a doubt that she is alive and that you have her. We want to hear from you and we are ready to listen.
Buck Sexton
Please reach out to us, Clay. It's a worst nightmare situation for people to have a loved one, to have a family member kidnapped and it seems kidnapped violently and have so little to go on. At this point, we know very, very few facts about the situation other than she's gone, she was taken. And obviously the Trump administration is very engaged. In fact, FBI Director Cash Patel has gone down to Arizona to oversee efforts to find Savannah Guthrie's mother. Trump has said personally that all available and necessary resources from the federal government will be devoted to finding her. And now the country is. Is. Is waiting and hoping.
Clay Travis
It feels to me. And we'll open up phone lines on this, by the way, because a ton of you have strong thoughts. 800-282-2882. And there's a press conference coming later during the course of the show that we will go to if we get any additional updates. It feels like this has to be some form of an inside job to me and let me explain why. And I could end up being totally wrong. And we probably have because we have experts in every field listening to the show right now. We probably have people who have worked kidnapping cases that are listening to us right now. This. So let me start with this. Savannah Guthrie, to me, is not Elon Musk's mom. She is not so famous. And Savannah Guthrie is not so wealthy that I think random people who had no knowledge of Nancy Guthrie would have any idea who her daughter is, by which I mean this feels like someone knows her, knows her movements. It feels connected. It doesn't feel like a random act of violence where somebody sees a famous person on television and decides that they're going to abduct someone. Probably the most famous, Buck, I would imagine you may disagree, but probably the most famous abduction in history is the Lindbergh baby. Right. Of. Of the entire history of the United States. I'm not sure there has been a more famous abduction than that that was directly connected to Charles Lindbergh, who was one of the most famous people in the United States at that point in time. He was targeted because of that fame. There's been millions of words written about that abduction. If you're a true crime or someone like that who reads those stories, it would clearly be at the very top of the list. Patty hear certainly is. Is famous, too, But I don't think it was famous on the same level as. As what happened with Lindbergh, you know, back in the day, in the 30s, in the 20s. That was about. He was as famous of a person as there was in the United States. Okay. So if you operate from that premise, also based on everything that I've read, and I read a lot about this to get ready for the show today. There's basically no evidence that is tangible of the abduction taking place. And let me dive into this with you, Buck, for a minute because that. That stands out to me as well. It feels to me like that is someone who is knowledgeable of the home because there are cameras Nancy Guthrie lived in a million dollar house. It's not only the home in which you live, Buck. My entire neighborhood, everybody has ring cameras. So even if my ring camera were down, then there would be 20 other cameras on the street that I live on, where people would. If the police came in, they would say, hey, you know, we don't know exactly what time something happened, but if you have footage of five hours ago or 20 hours ago or whatever the heck it is, there would be strong evidence of this. It feels like this was targeted. People were knowledgeable of the home. This is my analysis. In order to do this and not leave a lot of evidence behind, their cameras everywhere, I think it would be hard to abduct anyone and there not be tangible evidence of it right now. But at least so far, they're saying they don't have tangible evidence. A ransom note was sent to a local news affiliate in the Arizona area as well as tmz, says they got a ransom note. And people say, okay, how do you know it's accurate? Supposedly the ransom note included details about the scene inside the home that gave clear indications that we knew who was involved. So, Buck, this is my analysis. I think it has to be someone that is connected to Nancy Guthrie, someone who knows something about her life.
Buck Sexton
No.
Clay Travis
Maybe knows Savannah Guthrie because she knows Nancy Guthrie, because this woman is not standalone famous on her own, where I would expect that someone might decide to target her. Does all that make sense? You worked in the CIA or is that. Is. Is that totally crazy? From my perspective?
Buck Sexton
No, I think that that all. That all squares. Absolutely, that. That makes sense to me. And you know, one thing that. That I do think about with this is when was the last time you heard about a kidnapping with ransom in America? This is very common in other countries, actually. Unfortunately, depends on where in the world you're talking about. But there have been. There were periods of time when in Colombia, in Mexico, in. There have been actually some Arab states, I think in Yemen for a while. It was very common, people being kidnapped for ransom. I mean, so there. There are some places where this happens in this country. And there used to be movies about this. Remember the. What was the. Was it ransom? I think was the movie with Mel Gibson, right?
Clay Travis
Oh, yeah. Back in the day. Yeah. Ye.
Buck Sexton
Where he said. He went on and said, I will basically give all the money to whoever finds you. And that was the, you know, the big move in the movie. You can't really think that you're going to be in America. Right. You have to assume that this person is probably not. And I mean, I guess they could have been taken to Mexico. That's. That's possible. I don't think they're getting on an international flight and going anywhere. And why this, I think matters is if someone is going to have a ransom note for money, whether it's Bitcoin or anything else, and they're going to try to stay in America, they really think they're going to. Even after they get their money. Let's say they do the exchange and they let Nancy Guthrie go free. And we're just. We're all just hoping that she is let free and is unharmed, that even if they do that, they're going to get caught at some point. You're not going to be able to. There's just no way, I think, that you'd be able to. It's too hard with DNA and everything they can do now and cell phone tracking. And so that's why I sit here and say a ransom note that strikes me as doesn't add up. I don't know. I agree with you. I think this is someone who has to know who she is. But the idea that they would be doing this for ransom purposes, this is just not something you really hear about anymore. And I think it's because it's very. It'd be very hard to get paid for the kidnapping and then not end up spending the rest of your life in a cell. Now, maybe somebody made that calculation and they think they'll be the one that gets away with it. But I think that's. I think that's a tough. A tough thing to pull off.
Clay Travis
I agree. And so we will be following this again. There's a press conference coming in a little while, and again, some of you out there, we've got a couple of guests who want to talk, who are going to talk with this, with us about this. And some of you out there may again be experts in having dealt with kidnapping. We're fortunate because this doesn't happen very often in the United States where someone who is rich like Savannah Guthrie is, would be targeted. And. But it is common. Like I know in Latin America, Buck a lot of ball players, for instance, Major League baseball players have to have private security around their families all the time because there's extreme wealth that the ball players make. They spend time in Venezuela, they spend time in some of these Latin American countries, and their families are well known. And there is that sort of perpetual terror when it comes to kidnapping, that it might happen and there might be a payment that goes on I wonder too, Buck, you were talking about staying in the U.S. arizona. Is there a possibility they went south of the border and the only way got into Mexico to try to hold her there? That's one of the things that. That I would wonder about. But yes, like the way you communicate now is so trackable. It seems very, very hard for a ransom process to take place without there being abundant evidence of your ransom and how it's being communicated.
Buck Sexton
I think it'd be also a very hard thing to pull off successfully to kidnap somebody if you're an American and then go over the border to Mexico and with given all the attention if you don't have the help of the. Of the cartels. I think they have very sophisticated networks of intelligence collection themselves on the board. I'm just saying I think that would be a very risky move. Again, we're going into the realm of speculation here because that's all that we can. That's all that there is. We don't have really any further information. I was also thinking about the. There was. There's a group, I think Control Risks, for example, does this. They do. They do VIP security. It's a real, you know, real company. I think it still exists today. Kroll has done some of this as well. It's a big. A big security outfit where they protect people, but they also sometimes have to have hostage negotiation facility.
Clay Travis
And it's possible to. Buck, we just don't hear about these as much. Maybe there are occasional payments that are taking place and it's staying quiet. I tend to think that's less likely. But maybe there is in the United States some of this occurring and it just never goes public. That's the only thing like a real.
Buck Sexton
Plague for a while in Mexico. I know that I actually had a friend growing up who had. His uncle was kidnapped, like at gunpoint, thrown in the trunk of a car, and the ransom was paid and they did release him. So that. That does happen. But remember Proof of Life, the Russell Crowe movie?
Clay Travis
Oh, yeah.
Buck Sexton
Actually a pretty underrated movie I thought was a pretty good movie for what it was. But with Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe. Well, it deals with this very phenomenon of a bunch of. I think they're oil workers who are kidnapped somewhere in what is South America. They don't specify the country, and then they have to go through that whole negotiation process.
Clay Travis
Yeah. And I thought she was interesting. Savannah Guthrie in the clip we played. I hadn't really thought about it, but the Proof of Life is usually you hold up some sort of newspaper to show, hey, this is the day. This is, you know, here's the hostage. They're still okay. In an AI age, I don't even know how you can 100% prove a video is real. And I think this is a challenge across many different aspects of life. But I hadn't really thought about it until I watched that Savannah Guthrie movie video. That taking some sort of video and trying to do use proof of life now is almost impossible to know if it's real or not.
Buck Sexton
I think that if you're, if you're looking at the odds on this, someone doing this kidnapping because they think they're going to get money probably has a more likely outcome of Nancy coming out of this. Okay. Than if this was like a grudge, you know.
Clay Travis
Yeah. Right.
Buck Sexton
Situation. So. And, you know, but again, we, we just, we don't really know. We'll continue to follow the story. There's very little in the way of additional detail. Trump is on it. The president has. This has gotten his attention. Cash Patel, the director of FBI, they're on it. And they're devoting a tremendous amount of resources to finding Nancy Guthrie. So we hope we could have, we could have good news for you during the show. I mean, you know, who knows? Let's all, let's all say a prayer. Buck Sexton

Clay Travis

Go to PureTalk.com clay and you'll get 50% off your first month. Again, that's PureTalk.com clay to make the switch to Pure Talk. Welcome back in Clay. Travis BUCK SEXTON show A lot of you weighing in on the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping. Several of you pointing out, hey, the only reason this is news is because of Savannah Guthrie's connection. And that might well be true. In other words, if there were a 84 year old mother missing that was potentially kidnapped and this were not a media related story, the media might not be covering it as much, including us. I think that's fair. I also think it's fair to say I just don't think 84 year old moms go missing that often. And I mean in a violent way. I mean certainly there's dementia related issues, there's health related concerns that might cause an 84 year old to go missing. But I don't think people who are 84 years old are getting kidnapped very frequently. So I do think the circumstances surrounding this story are very strange such that they would be unique even if Savannah Guthrie were not involved. Is it a bigger story because of her? Yes.
Buck Sexton
There's clearly a celebrity aspect, a very big celebrity aspect of this. Meaning that if this were not a, if this were not Savannah Guthrie's mother, I don't think we'd be here talking about, I don't think it would be national news. I think that's just obvious and should be pointed out because there is something a little bit off about that. The president of the United States weighing in on this. And look, I think it's because he knows at some level people are people, right? He knows Savannah Guthrie. He's done interviews with Savannah Guthrie, you know, so I don't, it's not a criticism of the administration but reality is what it is right now and because of her profile, this case is definitely getting a lot more attention than it otherwise would. That is just, that is just a reality and many that out.
Clay Travis
We completely agree with that and we'll take some of your calls, we'll react Again, there's going to be A press conference a little bit later in the day. This is the story that is leading the news everywhere, so we will continue to update you on it. I'm out in San Francisco. I want to talk a little about my experience in San Francisco so far, but the super bowl is going on Santa Clara this week, and it is a great matchup between the Seahawks and the Patriots. And I've got a winner for you on prize picks. Was hanging out with some of the Prize picks crew last night here in San Francisco, along with our fabulous boss, Julie Talbot. And I want all of you to make sure that you know that you can win with these picks. Drake may more than one half passing touchdown. Drake made more than 1/2 passing yard. If you go right now and play that pays out at 4 to 1. You get $50 in your account nationwide when you sign up. Prizepix.com code clay. That's prizepix.com code Clay for 50 bucks.
Buck Sexton
So this weekend, I'm told there is a football game that will be happening. A game of football with the Seahawks. And Clay.
Clay Travis
Clay, you don't know the other team. Are you. Are you freezing?
Buck Sexton
You know, that was an alley oop. You're not supposed to swat it into the stands.
Clay Travis
You're supposed to just. When you. When you pause there for a minute, it occurred to me that you might be pausing because you weren't aware of these, because I do not.
Buck Sexton
I. I thought I knew, but I realized I just. It's Seahawks and Patriots. There we go. I wanted to say Bills for some reason, but that.
Clay Travis
Oh, poor Buffalo. That would really be a kick in the teeth. No, Seahawks, Patriots. I'm in San Francisco. The game is being played at Santa Clara. Everybody's like, the game's not in San Francisco. Game's not in San Francisco, Clay. Nobody ever says that. When I'm like, hey, I'm in New York City. I'm gonna watch the jets and the Giants. But, like, the game's not New York City, Clay. It's actually in New Jersey. Yeah.
Buck Sexton
Yeah.
Clay Travis
The stadium is not in San Francisco. For everybody out there that is obsessed with the physical location of the game, the game is in Santa Clara. I appreciate you. I didn't.
Buck Sexton
I didn't know this was. I didn't know this was a controversy. So you're.
Clay Travis
I don't understand this.
Buck Sexton
For the first time hearing it for the first time.
Clay Travis
Anytime you say that there is a game that is taking place in a geographic region, there's people who have to let you know that it's not actually in the city like New York City. You never hear like you say, hey, I'm gonna go watch the jets or the Giants play. They play at, at a field just in the in vicinity. You can see downtown New York from it in New Jersey. But people are like, well, they don't actually play in New York City, you know. Okay, thanks.
Buck Sexton
Meadowlands. The Meadowlands.
Clay Travis
But yes, the. But so the game is taking place in Santa Clara.
Buck Sexton
You're not, you're not with us tomorrow. So this is why I have to, I have to get some of this. Now you're, you're doing football things tomorrow.
Clay Travis
So I'm actually, you know who I'm going to be talking to today, Buck, that I'm actually super excited to talk to that I think you will be familiar with. I've never talked to him before, never met him. Bo Jackson. I am interviewing Bo Jackson today, one of the all time great athletes in the history of the United States.
Buck Sexton
So I do know because I was a, a more, you know, standard American in the 90s when I was a youth and I would watch all the sports and I also would watch Saturday morning cartoons and I was a devotee of the, I think they were called the All Stars. And it was Bo Jackson, Michael Jordan, Gretzky, as superheroes somehow like actual superheroes like fighting crime or. So I don't really, I don't really know how they pulled this off. But I did watch this when I was a kid and I will say that I've seen video and stuff of Bo Jackson and I mean he may be the most amazing, physical, gifted athlete of our lifetime. And so I think you can make that case.
Clay Travis
I don't think it's a crazy case. And now everybody out there listening to us, I guarantee you, remembers the Bo Knows commercials. I mean they turned that into Nike. Nike, I think it was back in the day, maybe it was Reebok. I don't remember exactly.
Buck Sexton
I had, I had friends that I remember going, and they had the bow with like the shoulder pads, but the basketball bat.
Clay Travis
I had that, I had that exact picture that, that poster of Bo Jackson's, an iconic black and white photo where he has shoulder pads on and then he has a baseball bat on top of the shoulder pads. And remember back in the day, Buck, he was one of the first guys who would just break a Baseball bat over his knee in anger. He ran up the wall in Kansas City. So I'm going to get to meet him. I'm going to be on radio row interviewing him. He doesn't do a ton of media and so I'm excited to do that. My pick is are you going to.
Buck Sexton
Are you going to foot, are you going to foot race him? Like I saw Mr. Stool Presidente in a foot race on the video.
Clay Travis
Oh, I haven't even seen that. No, I haven't even seen that.
Buck Sexton
No. I think, I, I, I think, I think you got to challenge Mr. Portnoy to a foot race. After seeing this one, I, I, I think that you guys could raise a lot of money for charity.
Clay Travis
I do not have elite speed and I can tell you Mr. Portnoy does.
Buck Sexton
Not have elite speed either.
Clay Travis
That, you know, that's funny. I have not seen the video. But, you know, one of the great shows of all time is Friday Night Lights and the Taylor Kitsch character said that a huge portion of people, they audition to play football look so awkward running that they couldn't do the job. People don't realize, you know, if you run full speed, people think they look like Bo Jackson in the open field or they think but you actually, the average person running full speed does not.
Buck Sexton
Look like they never run, which is true of most people.
Clay Travis
So, yes, that is, it's a very, it's a very hard thing to do as elegantly as everybody who you watch on the Olympics or in a major sporting event. But my pick buck is 24, 21. Seahawks. So I think the Seahawks win by three. Low scoring game. Seahawks, Patriots. Should be fun. And it's being played in Santa Clara. For anybody who wants to know geographically, the location, very specifically, I, I have.
Buck Sexton
Crunched the numbers, I have watched the tape and I believe that my beloved Patriots are going to come out on top of this.
Clay Travis
Can you name a Patriots player or.
Buck Sexton
Coach, current or former?
Clay Travis
Well, I imagine you can name Tom Brady and Bill Belichick. Correct? Drake May. That's the name you need to remember for your super bowl party. He's the quarterback for the Patriots second year. He's had a very impressive. For anybody out there that doesn't know football at all, I'm going to give you one line that you can use that will make people think that you know what you're talking about. Drake May. I'll give you two. Drake May, out of nowhere, year two. The jump that he has made as a quarterback is extraordinary. Other one is can you believe Mike Vrabel he's the head coach of the Patriots in year one, is in the Super Bowl. That's incredible. You drop those two and then you just kind of nod to whatever the reaction is. You'll look like you belong. You'll look like you speak the language.
Buck Sexton
Thank you.
Clay Travis
Then you go to the Buffalo chicken dip. Just get out of the conversation and start to comment on the commercials.
Buck Sexton
That's all. That's all I need right there. But I was thinking about this not just because of my love of all things NFL, of course, but because there is an interview that will be airing. And now we're getting back into my wheelhouse where President Trump sat down with Tom Yamas, not to be confused with llamas, although it is spelled llama. So this is a tough one, like the, like llama the animal. L, L a M A. But this is yamas, even though it's the same spelling. I, you know, OK, fine. Mr. Tom Yamas, who kind of looks like a Latin Will Kane. Do you see that at all?
Clay Travis
You know, our friend will be funny. A Latin Will Kane.
Buck Sexton
I think he looks like Latin Will Cade. No.
Better Picks Alternate Ad Reader
Maybe.
Clay Travis
No, I, I don't think that's a bad take. By the way, we should mention too, remember, Biden wouldn't do the super bowl interviews. This actually is a very common presidential member like Biden refused. And people thought, well, maybe it's just because Fox has it, they were afraid to let him sit for a Super bowl interview. Now Trump has done two consecutive super bowl interviews. NBC has got the game coming up this weekend. But just if you're out there and you have forgotten how decrepit Joe Biden was, they didn't even trust him to do a Super bowl interview. That's going to be watched by typically you'd want to do it, Buck, because 50, 60 million people watch this interview every single Super Bowl Sunday.
Buck Sexton
Yes, indeed. Here is some of the, here are some of the previews from that interview, for example, and Trump talking about Minneapolis, which is clearly going to get a lot of attention. And we knew he would be asked about this. First off, on deportations, here's the president a preview of the NBC interview with Tom Yamas. Play 11.
Donald Trump
We're totally focused on criminals, really bad criminals. Now, you could say people that came in illegally are criminals, but I'm talking about murderers from different countries. We have 11,888 murderers that Biden and his group let into our country. We've captured a lot of them. We brought some of them back. A lot of Them we don't want to bring back because we don't trust the country that they're not sent back again, despite how strong the borders are. They'll figure a way to try and get in and we don't want them and we'll incarcerate them.
Buck Sexton
Focused on the bad criminals, Clay Important point to make because Democrats are going to the, going to the mat, taking it to the wall, all in on stopping this phase of the deep we haven't even gotten into. Like the kindly old grandmothers who happen to still be here illegally. We're talking about people who are gang members who are criminals who have done bad things and Democrats oppose that.
Clay Travis
Hammer it over and over again. My lesson, my suggestion, my, my request for the White House connect it to the 125 year murder low and the all time longevity lifespans. The reason why the country is the safest it's ever been and the reason why people are living longer than they ever have is because the border is secure. We're kicking violent criminals out, we're stopping the flow of fentanyl into the country and as a result, Americans are living healthier, longer lives, period. I would, I would scream this from the rooftops to the point where one of the challenges I think on communication Buck and you know, this is in order to get people to recognize something, you have to say it a billion times. And I think sometimes people like Trump who are smart get bored saying the same thing over and over and over again because the repetition required to win in politics, you never know when people are going to be listening for the first time. You don't know when you're going to cut through the noise and get to them. I would love to see polling on this. What percentage of Americans know we just set an all time low for murders? I bet it's 20%. I bet 80% of Americans right now have no idea this is the safest our country has ever been. I would repeat this over and over again. I would connect it to the border policies, to immigration, deportations, everything. It is the best and biggest story of Trump year one and most people still don't know about it. And so I talked to the super bowl. You know, for the interview, I would run an ad during the super bowl saying, hey, we're at 125 year low on murders. That's because of the leadership of President Trump when it comes to the border. I would hammer it so many times that everybody got sick of it because that's the only way you make people aware of a fact. Like this, which is somewhat counterintuitive, I think, because Democrats don't want it to be true.
Buck Sexton
Trump also spoke on the tactical shift in Minneapolis. This is cut 10. And here is what he has to say for this preview of the NBC interview.
Donald Trump
So crime now in Minnesota, crime now in Minneapolis is down. Crime in all cities is down. Speaking of why it's down, it's down because of us. It's down in Chicago by 25%, despite the fact that we are always dealing with these people and they happen to be Democrats. Speaking of, they don't know anything about crime prevention.
Clay Travis
Mr. President, speaking of Minneapolis, what did you learn?
Donald Trump
I learned that maybe we can use a little bit of a softer touch, but you still have to be tough. These are criminal. We're dealing with really hard criminals. But look, I've called the people, I've called the governor, I've called the mayor, spoke to him, had great conversations with them. And then I see them ranting and raving out there literally as though a call wasn't made.
Buck Sexton
Clay saying maybe a little bit of a softer touch, but still got to be tough. Very Trump there, where it's like, okay, we might do a little bit, but we're still going to get it done.
Clay Travis
Yeah. Look, Trump is attuned to the way that the media talks about him, for better or worse. And I don't think he liked the optics of the violence that occurred with Renee Good and Alex Pretty. But I think simultaneously, you can't have results without being in a position where violence may be necessary because they're trying to create violent situations. So unfortunately, I can tell you with almost certainty ICE agents are going to get murdered because Democrats have decided that ICE agents represent the modern day Nazi shock troops. I don't know when it's going to happen. I don't know who's going to what city it's going to happen in. But wouldn't you unfortunately sign on to that being a very strong likelihood? We saw it happen with BLM when the Dallas cops got targeted. When you convince people that people who work in law enforcement are the enemy, sooner or later someone who has a broken brain is going to take the logic of your argument to the point where they believe violence is the answer. It's inevitable. I already am frustrated that we're going to get there. I hate the fact that it's going to happen, but it's going to be.
Buck Sexton
Prepared if and when that happens, and we hope it doesn't. But I agree with you, Clay. It is a distinct possibility, a likelihood even they'll blame Trump for it. It the left will blame Trump if there is violence, directed violence against ICE officers, lethal violence against ICE officers. They will say it's not the left for it's not the Democrats for claiming that they are Gestapo and Nazis and all this other stuff. They'll say it's Trump's fault. So they won't back off this at all. This is all they really have to fight against this administration right now. Okay, our bodies produce a certain amount of energy, but as we age that diminishes. You get tired. Is President's Day a favorite holiday for our friends at Pure Talk?
Buck Sexton
After all, it only takes one Jackson and one Lincoln to pay for Pure Talk's monthly cell phone service. For just 25 bucks a month, Pure Talk gives you unlimited talk, text and plenty of data.
Clay Travis
Now compare that to Big Wireless. They'd rather celebrate Benjamin Franklin Day if there was such a thing. That way they can charge your family hundreds every month. That's not right. You deserve better.

Clay Travis
I don't know. This background music I'm like, wow, it's like 1978 San Francisco. We got a lot to discuss. This press conference coming up in a few moments. Buck, I did see you tweeting about this this morning, and probably I want everybody to be angry at Buck.
Buck Sexton
Well, this. This will do it, by the way.
Clay Travis
Buck. Bitcoin for those. I don't. What percentage of people do you think in this audience own bitcoin?
Buck Sexton
This is probably less than five.
Clay Travis
I was going to say five. I was going to say 5. 1 in 20. The price of bitcoin has been collapsing. It's down about $6,000 today. It's roughly the same price today. Again, roughly. Bitcoin Bros. Roughly the same price today that it was in 2021. So if you've had it for the last five years, you're roughly dead even on it. And I do wonder, only in the context of this, how determinate do you think the overall economy is to the price of bitcoin in general? Buck? In other words, bitcoin has dropped precipitously. It's at. At basically the same price as 2021. If Bitcoin dropped another half, are you concerned at all that that could set off any kind of panic selling in the larger stock market? Because a lot of the bitcoin bros. Out there are buying bitcoin on leverage and they're leveraged in other assets as well. That's my primary concern. If you're out there and you're saying, clay, why would you. Why should I be concerned about the price of bitcoin? Do you buy in that the interconnected nature of the larger economic investment ecosystem could be impacted?
Buck Sexton
I think you're going a whole, whole levels deeper on this than I am. I would just say, I think that blockchain technology is interesting and has some very important possible applications. I think that bitcoin is not currency, will never be currency. And eventually people will realize this and it will be a sad day for people that have spent a lot of money on these cryptocurrencies. That's just my take. I'm. And I'm. I'm. It's me and Warren Buffett maybe the greatest investor of all time. I mean, there's a few of us that think this, but some people think that it, like, frees us from government and it's currency that can't be manipulated or anything else. Currency. Without a bunch of people with guns to protect and enforce, the writ of the currency isn't really currency.
Clay Travis
So my challenge is, well, I mean, I could dive into this for a long time. My big concern right now is if the price comes back down continues, is it going to impact larger ecosystems? Economically speaking truth and having fun Clay.

(Podcast Announcer/Savannah Guthrie’s family statement, 04:29)
On the Unlikelihood of Ransom Success in Modern America
"You're not going to be able to...it's too hard with DNA and everything they can do now and cell phone tracking. And so that's why I sit here and say a ransom note that strikes me as doesn't add up."
(Buck Sexton, 11:30)
