Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids
This is an iHeart podcast. Nearly 90% of kids who vape say flavors are why they do it. A lot of the flavors that I've heard are like peach, mango, watermelon. It makes it seem like more childlike and innocent. Oh, I tried this once. It won't be that much of a problem. But then eventually it becomes a problem. It's time to restrict the sale of flavored tobacco products in Oregon and protect our kids from nicotine addiction. Urge lawmakers to pass Senate Bill 702A to take action@ flavorshookoreegonkids.org paid for by the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids Action Fund.

And as you know, there was a series of major strikes by Israel's air force on nuclear sites and high level military targets, including individual military personnel and nuclear scientists all across Iran. Just about, I don't know, I can't do the math. But in the last 24 hours for sure, probably like 18 hours ago. And so we will continue to follow that story closely. We've got Scott Jennings. We're efforting him right now. He is in Israel. You know, Scott, from the, the gentlemanly slaps that he dishes out over at CNN to various Democrats and leftists on, on one of their shows, we'll see if we can get it. We're having a little bit technical issue because, you know, he's on the other side of the world. So we'll see if we can have him Join us from Israel. Also, just some other stories we are watching as we continue to deep dive into the preemptive strike, which is what Israel is officially calling it, on Iran and its nuclear capability and ballistic missile capability and the irgc, I mean, they just, they went for it in a big way. You have still the ongoing back and forth with Trump and Newsom in Los Angeles and California more broadly. Trump put out this tweet, I shouldn't say tweet truth. Yesterday, Clay, the Biden administration and Governor Newscomb, he wrote Newscombe flooded America with 21 million illegal aliens destroying schools, hospitals and communities and consuming untold billions of dollars in free welfare. All of them have to go home, as do countless other illegals and criminals who will turn us into a bankrupt third world nation. America was invaded and occupied. I am reversing the invasion. It's called re migration. Our courageous ICE officers who are daily being subjected to doxing and murder threats are heroes. We will always have their back as they carry out this noble mission. America will be for Americans again, very strong statement from President Trump on the continued mission to both stabilize things in Los Angeles county and continue the deportation operations. It was pretty stunning, Clay, but I guess not surprising. A lower court judge slapped down Trump's deployment of the National Guard, basically said Trump's not allowed to do this. Gavin Newsom is the only one who can call the shots. Then the appeals court, I believe, looked at it and, and slap down the slap down with a stay of the stay. Because the president of the United States, think about our history. If the president of the United States. Oh, we have Scott Jennings.

You can give us a stim winder on the supremacy clause here.
Clay Travis
Clause was right on top of my mind there. But we got Scott Jennings live from Israel, CNN's own Scott Jennings. Scott, what's it like over there? What's going on?
Ben Shapiro
Well, great to hear your voice. You know, it's interesting. I'm in Tiberias, literally standing on the bank of the Sea of Galilee right now looking due east, which is towards Tehran. And it's a little calm out here. It's Shabbat Friday night here in Israel. So a lot of people are with their families and inside. And right before we connected, I got an alert on my phone. I think people may be going into safe rooms now because of a possible missile incoming from Yemen. But other than that, everything's fine. We're all just amazed at the news today at what Israel pulled off, apparently with the help of our President Donald Trump, to really defeat the principal. You know, it's the head of the octopus and to take away their nuclear capabilities, to decapitate the government of the worst people in the world. You know, these people they killed today are the absolute founders of terror. It's a great day. This has been 20, 25 years in the making. I'm glad Israel pulled the trigger.
Scott Jennings
Scott, you're over there right now. I was there in December. They've stopped all air travel, everything else. We've got, you know, millions of Americans listening right now who have not been to Israel before, who've not seen it, what it's like in a time of war. What is it like? What was your experience like? I know you posted your, your bomb alerts that came onto the phone for people who will maybe never go to Israel and certainly will not be there in a time of war. What's the experience like for you and for the average Israeli right now?
Ben Shapiro
Well, you know, they live with something every day of these possible incoming rocket and missile strikes. So, you know, it's pretty common for them to get alerts and to go into safe rooms. A lot of the buildings or apartments or houses you're in would have a safe room. And they take it all in stride. It's just part of daily life. I mean, obviously this attack on Iran is extremely unusual. So it has the country on a heightened state of alert. But on day to day life, you know, they take it in stride and they go about their business and they just live with it. Of course, you know, they live with the being surrounded by their enemies all the time, and. And they've just had to learn to incorporate into their daily life. I have enjoyed being here. This is an incredibly hospitable country everywhere. I've gone from the north to the south. I've been to the Gaza border. I've been to the Lebanon border. I've been in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and a lot of places in between. Extremely hospitable, Welcoming to Americans, appreciative of the relationship between Israel and the United States. I had not been, I would have no qualms whatsoever about bringing my family back here to visit again. It's been a. It's been an amazing experience.
Clay Travis
Scott, There seemed to be some difference in the reporting about how some aspect of this went down. I'm wondering if you either have insight or just what your assessment of it is that Trump was essentially knew 100% this was coming well in advance. And so there was the head fake, if you will, of hanging out with Clay and me, for one thing. You know, having a good time in the Oval Office. The picnic that was scheduled. Secretary of Defense went to a baseball game with his kids. Then there's other people who are saying, oh, but President Trump told them not to. Netanyahu said, look, we can't wait anymore. And then Trump just rolled with it because it's ultimately Israel's call. How do you see the last, let's say, three or four days playing out as it pertains to Trump and his role in all of this?
Ben Shapiro
Well, I think people who hate Donald Trump are always going to come up with a narrative that tries to make him look bad, no matter what happens. That's Number one. Number two, I go back 60 days. 61 days. 61 days ago, Donald Trump said publicly, Iran has 60 days to make a deal. Today is day 61. So he told the world and Iran clearly what they needed to do in order to avoid this outcome. And here we are, 61 days later, and Iran didn't make a deal. They couldn't bring themselves to understand the position they were in. And now Israel is doing the work of dismantling the enemy of Western civilization. But the President of the United States warned them, and now they're getting the consequences of failing to heed that warning. So I think this ruse, I think this head fake, whatever you want to call it, is going to go down in history as one of the most interesting and amazing military operations that ever happened. I mean, this is essentially pager 2.0. You know, what the Israelis constructed here, having Mossad inside of Iran having the head fake with the United States. The entire construction of this is nothing short of a miracle. And it is good for the west and it is good for America. And it is good that Donald Trump was the president because I'm not sure the previous administration would have ever participated in something like this to defeat this enemy.
Scott Jennings
Scott, you're on CNN talking to a lot of people who it appears every night or reading from the same talking points. I haven't really seen an aggressive pushback from the left on Israel's actions so far. Two parter. Have you seen any kind of pushback from a purely political perspective to do you expect one, because they march in lockstep. Everybody had the Mexican flag up. Is Iran's flag gonna start showing up in left wing bios on social media? How do they respond to this? Or are they actually gonna acknowledge that this is actually a good thing for global peace? What do you anticipate?
Ben Shapiro
Well, first of all, Ben Rhodes, who was Obama's national security adviser, was one of the first people out to criticize this. And you know, his nickname, according to reporting in the Obama White House was Hamas. And so that is, by the way.
Clay Travis
That is quite a nickname.
Ben Shapiro
Yeah, no kidding. And then you've seen some other fringe elements of the left that are very unhappy because they're unhappy anytime Israel in the United States does anything to defend itself. What I really think their problem is going to be tomorrow, these kings rallies or all these rallies that are being held around the country. You can bet that the Free Palestine movement will be out there, that the Palestinian flags and the Hamas colors and all these people that have been marching all over college campuses in American cities for the last few months, you know, they're going at these events and I think politically, until the left, until the Democrats divorce themselves from this bunch of people who, let's just be honest, it has nothing to do with Palestine. This is about destabilizing the west and destroying the United States of America from within. That's what it is. It is a domestic terrorism organization. Until you can separate yourself from that, the American people are going to continue to punish you. And Democrats today. I mean, not that many statements coming out from Democrats in Congress supporting Israel today because they are afraid. They are afraid of these people. They need to get rid of them and get away from them as soon as they can. That is my sincerest advice to them.
Clay Travis
But is that even possible, Scott, with the makeup? I mean, politically possible? Right? Of course they could do the right thing. But, but I mean to keep the Democrat coalition going such as it is. And it seems like they have to pretend that this is the new blm, like this is the new social justice movement. But it's not blm, it's pro Hamas.
Ben Shapiro
Well, the coalition of the Democrats fundamentally thinks America and Western values are rotten at the core. I mean, that is the sad fact of that party. And they need to reverse themselves immediately. I don't know if they can do it. But when you look at the energy in their party, the beating heart of that party at its core believes America is rotten. Our founding values are rotten, the west is rotten. They look at the world through the lens of this oppressed and oppressor and they believe the United States is an oppressor. Well, how can you be a political party in the United States if you believe those things? And I think that's why they're struggling with the American people right now, because most Americans do not see the world that way. And I don't know if they can get rid of it, but it would help them if they could. But you look at where their energy is. The squad, Crockett, these people, these strident voices from the radical left, they're not pro America. They don't believe in our founding values. They don't believe in Western civilization in many cases. They certainly don't believe in our relationship with Israel. They're going to have a tough time here divorcing themselves, but they really should try because it's killing them. It is killing their party. And you know, as a Republican, you know, it's good politically, but I hate it for the United States that one of our two political parties has fallen victim of this hateful ideology.
Scott Jennings
We're talking to Scott Jennings, he's in Israel. Last question for you, Scott, and we appreciate you making the time. I know it's night coming over in Israel, not to mention, who knows what might happen with that occurring. But back here in the States, when you see Simone Biles come after Riley Gaines and when you have conversations with off air Democrats, do they acknowledge privately that their public stance in favor of men in women's sports is absolutely insane?
Ben Shapiro
Every single person that I know from that side of the ball, from that profession, professional Democrats, know that it's killing them. And they also know that there's not a darn thing they can do about it. I mean, that is the fundamental problem they have. They know the right thing to do, but they can't do anything about it. Either they live in fear or they know that the way their party works, I mean, they're authoritarians, you know, and you're not allowed to get out of line. You're not allowed to say, wait a minute, look what they did to Fetterman when he got out of line on Israel. You know, I mean, they're out there saying, you ought to be in a straight jacket. I mean, his own staff was out there saying that you are not allowed to get out of line inside the Democratic Party controlled by the radical left, even on obvious 955 issues, which this issue is, you're not allowed to get out of line. And even you even have to say things like, we need more studies. We need more studies to find out if men and women are different.

This only is possible because of the donations that come in from you, the pro life community that lets pre born go about their incredibly important mission of saving lives. Over the past two decades, 350,000 babies have been brought into this world as a result of their efforts. And your donations voting for people who are pro life. Yes, very important. Use of flavored tobacco by teens is a crisis. Tobacco companies use flavors like cotton candy, watermelon ice and cool mint to hook kids like me. They seem harmless, but they are. Addiction to nicotine sets us up for a lifetime of health problems. Oregon legislators can do something about it. Passing Senate Bill 702A will keep flavored tobacco away from kids. But there are just a few short weeks left for lawmakers to act, take action to protect kids like me@ flavorshookorgonkids.org paid for by the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids Action Fund.

We were about to tee up the Padilla ridiculousness and appreciate Scott Jennings taking the time CNN to discuss with us what he was seeing on the ground in Israel. But the Padilla let's play the audio. I'm sure you guys have seen it. But before we do Buck, I did. I tweeted this last night as the Israel attack began on Iran. I did couldn't stop but laugh a little bit because that was so planned and they were going to get multiple days out of oh my goodness, can you believe how they treated a sitting United States senator? If they'll force him to not charge a cabinet secretary, they'll murder you if you like you knew it was so planned and so fake. And then as soon as the Israel attack happened, it went from the A block on every show discussion to like the F block. But I do think we should play it and make fun of this guy. Here is cut seven. Here he is interrupting Kristi Noem. This is what it sounded like yesterday afternoon. Also I want to talk Senator Alex.
Ben Shapiro
I have questions for the secretary because the fact that of the matter is.
Colby Ekowitz
A half a dozen violent criminals that you're rotating on your I also want to.
Scott Jennings
Just is so pathetic and the audio is even funnier and let me play this because I do think Buck this is emblematic of how they're losing ground. Here's Stephen A. Smith from ESPN ripping Senator Padilla, you want to know how you're losing men? You look like losers streaming at Buck. Female cabinet secretaries during press conferences. Cut 11. Here you have this. Senator Alex Padilla. Can Kristi Noem speak?
Ben Shapiro
Could you have waited till she finished.
Scott Jennings
To ask your questions? To shout your questions? You are a senator, right? You couldn't wait. So that was just you out of control because you were just losing it, huh? You a United States senator, couldn't compose yourself and let the head of Homeland Security finished her thoughts before you asked the question. Couldn't do that, huh? Buck I think this is indicative. I mean when Stephen A. Smith is saying you need to compose yourself more. I mean look, this is embarrassing. This is how you lose dudes. Nobody thinks a guy storming up at a woman and yelling at her during a press Conference is a way to impress people.
Clay Travis
Yes. And this guy thought this was his big moment. I will say, how many people are learning that this guy is even a senator? I thought at first the state senator, right? Oh, no. U.S. senator from California, along with Adam Schiff.

Our friends Caroline Levitt and Margot Martin and Stephen Miller and you know, J.D. vance, you know, they came by Vice President Vance and just spent some time with us. Yes, sir.
Scott Jennings

Colby Ekowitz
I mean, guys, that's an amazing forward pitch. I love to hear that story. That is just really well done.
Clay Travis
That, that tease was sold so hard that I actually convinced myself that's where we were going. So. All right, Ben, we got we to do a hard turn here. We got a turn like an F18 that's just commenced a strike run or finish one. Tell us about your first sense of what's gone on here with the strikes in Iran against the reactors and against the military targets.
Colby Ekowitz
I mean, first of all, astonishing level of success from the Israelis here. So my understanding is from all my sources on the ground, on both sides, meaning American and Israeli, that Israel has completely destroyed the Natanz nuclear reactor, that Israel is currently doing heavy damage to other nuclear reactors around the region. They took out perhaps nearly the entire echelon of the irgc, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps in targeted strikes. Many of them were killed in their beds. They were not suspecting that this was going to happen. There was apparently an operation that the Israelis told Fox News about in which they had essentially suckered a bunch of top IRGC generals into a room to plan possible retaliation next week. And they had essentially the Israelis had, it sounds like leaked information to them to get them to do that and then kept them in the room and then hit the room and killed everybody in the room. They had Mossad agents on the ground who had set up effectively a drone factory on the ground in Iran. And then they were releasing these drones to take out a lot of Iranian munitions, including the ballistic missile stocks that they were going to use to respond to Israel. And so for, you know, at this point, more than 12 hours, Israel has been running bombing raids over Iran, utterly unfettered. First of all, Iran does not have an effective air force. Iran's air force is all old F14s and SU24s and stuff that just will not hold up to an F16 or an F35. But beyond that, the ballistic missile stores have been really devastated. Iran's arsenal has been really deeply harmed. And that means that their capacity to respond has been, at the very least, limited. And so we've seen pretty desultory response from Iran so far. 100 drones that were shot down last night, the 100 drones that were shot down today. And then just a few minutes ago, there was an announcement that there's a belief that Iran is firing ballistic missiles right now. Pretty much all the countries in the region are scrambling to knock those down. That includes supposed condemners of the Israelis like the Saudis. The Saudis put out a statement that basically was the Catherine Han wink from Wandavision. Oh, we're so sad. We're really upset that Israel. No one is happier in the region than Mohammed bin Salman, that Israel did this. And so they've been participating in knocking down the ordinance coming the other way. The Jordanians have, the Egyptians have, the Americans have, the Brits have. And so right now, this appears to be one of the most shockingly successful military operations in modern history. And the other competitor for that title is probably the Bieber operation from last year. So the IDF is really flexing an extraordinary amount of muscle right now.
Scott Jennings
Ben, what happens with the Ayatollah? Because you take out all of his military leadership. He's been in Command now since 1979, the revolution. Thanks for coming on. And now, two generations later, he doesn't have the ability to defend his people at all against what he calls the Great Satan in Israel, and they're wiping him out. How do you think ordinary. This is a really interesting question, I think. How do you think ordinary Iranians are responding to this? To the extent they can get accurate information? And what happens for him going forward, based on what we're seeing right now?
Colby Ekowitz
So the first thing to understand is that the Iranian regime is deeply fearful for its future, not from the external forces, but from internal forces. And the way you can tell this is that I was informed by an Israeli source today that very early on, after it became clear that Israel had complete control over the Iranian airspace, and I mean complete control. They're flying daytime raids. They're apparently refueling in Syrian airspace. They're flying basically unfettered throughout Iran that during this time, Iran shut down their entire Internet because they are afraid that the Iranian people are going to get, number one, news from outside. Number two, that they're going to convey news from inside, and that they might be able to use the Internet to coordinate and sort of move against the regime. The Iranian people hate the regime. They do not like the regime. They are generally actually quite pro America and also pro Israel. And so there's been a deep fear among the ayatollahs that this was going to be the result of getting rid of the nuclear program, which is why they were so hesitant to get rid of the nuclear program. All Iran had was essentially its oil fields and a prospective nuclear program. And they were. They're trying to rush toward a bomb, hoping that they could become essentially the Kim regime in North Korea, isolated, not well involved in the world economy, but almost untouchable because of the presence of a nuclear weapon. And Israel has basically ended that, at least for the foreseeable future, not only by taking out hardware, but by killing pretty much every major Iranian nuclear scientist there is astonishing operation again. And so if you're the ayatollahs at this point, you're living in fear for your life from your own people. The IRGC seems to be in a state of disrepair because they're just, again, the leadership status was Israel did to them what they just did to Hezbollah. They wiped out a lot of their leadership. And so the reason I think, that Israel has not struck the ayatollahs directly is because they're using that as a sort of deterrent for Iran, firing more ballistic missiles or attempting to fire at American troops or something like that. Basically, the case being if you kill the ayatollahs, then there's nothing left except, you know, whoever has their finger on the button. If you leave the ayatollahs in place for now, then what you're saying to the ayatollahs is, listen, you fire back, you go too hard here, your oil fields are on fire, and you're dead. And I think that's likely the strategy right now. Israel has essentially said that openly. Just about an hour ago, they released a statement saying that if too many ballistic missiles are fired at Israel or if they're fired at population centers in Israel and other targets, wink, wink, nod, nod, maybe the ayatollahs, probably the oil fields go up in Flames.

Ben, give me in your mind the, the, I'd say realistic but optimistic case for the Middle east focused on Israel security, the future of Iran, and regional developments. So, again, I know I'm asking you to look into the future, and with the Middle east, that's a very difficult thing, and everything can change in a day. All those caveats apply. What is the reasonable but optimistic case, as you see it, six months out from now?
Colby Ekowitz
I mean, I think six months out from now, the realistic, there's the ultra optimistic case, which is the regime falls, right. And that's not caused by some sort of ground invasion, which literally no one wants, no one is calling for. And anybody who's telling you that anyone's calling for that is a liar. Okay? The people who you're hearing say that they're not telling the truth. It is not plausible, nor is it workable, nor is it anything that anybody wants to do. If the regime were to fall, that's obviously not totally off the table, but that would have to come from internal machinations inside Iran. Assuming that doesn't happen, the most plausible scenario at this point is that Iran's military is rendered essentially toothless, that Iran is isolated, that they do not have any projective power in the region. And as a result, many of the states that are threatened by Iran start to seek to cut a deal with allies of the United States. That includes Syria, which already is making overtures toward the United States and toward Israel that include Lebanon. One of the most astonishing statements that came out very early here is that Lebanon, which had been run by Hezbollah until the beginning of last year when Israel basically wrecked Hezbollah. Until then, you know, Hezbollah ran the place. Hezbollah put out a statement saying that they stood in solidarity with Iran and then basically gave them a high five as they drowned. They said, we're not going to do anything because they're afraid that Israel is going to destroy them. So you could see a complete reorientation of the Middle East. The next step would presumably be they're already getting close to the end in Gaza, that in a few weeks Israel will establish complete security control over the Gaza Strip. You would hope that there's some sort of deal to get the hostages out, because now Hamas literally has no, that's the best case scenario if that doesn't hit. Either way, Israel is going to have to establish security control over the Gaza Strip. And then you would imagine that there's going to be some talk, some pretty open talk about economic cooperation between the Saudis, uae, Bahrain and Israel. I mean, UAE and Bahrain are already members of the Abraham Accords in the Middle East. The rule is very simple. It's a strong horse region. Whoever is the strong horse is the party that people follow and want to be partners with. There's no question at this point in time, Israel is by far the strongest military force in the region and they're flexing that today.
Scott Jennings
Last question for you, Ben. We appreciate the time. By the way, Ben, you've got a new book out called Lions and the True Story of America that is going to be out in September. Buck and I talked about this earlier. I'm curious your analysis in the immediate aftermath. Is October 7th looking to be one of the most catastrophic strategic decisions made ever and certainly in the lives of anybody out there listening right now. When you look at what's happened to Hamas, Hezbollah, what's happened in Syria and now what's happening to Iran, is that a fair characterization in your mind?
Colby Ekowitz
Absolutely. It's Pearl Harbor. Right. Pearl harbor in the moment looks really good for the Japanese and it turns out that it ends with the complete destruction of the Japanese regime and their control over all external territory. That's what this looks like. It looks like October 7, which was activated by the Iranians, has now resulted in the complete destruction of Hamas, one of their proxies, Hezbollah, another one of the proxies, the Assad regime, which they were using as a quasi proxy, and now the complete destruction of a huge swath of their military capacity right at home. It's just a disastrous decision. By the way here, I just want to say that all Americans, for a thousand reasons, but for this reason today should be so grateful that Donald Trump is president and Kamala Harris is not president. Donald Trump has been absolutely 100% consistent on this issue before he was president to now. He said the JZPOA was the worst deal in history. He said Iran could not go nuclear. He has never threatened to withdraw aid from Israel. He did not get America directly involved in this. He said that Israel is a good partner to America, which means they should go fight their own battles. And Israel is going and fighting that battle right now is perfectly played by President Trump. President Trump's statements today, I have to say, are simultaneously inspiring and absolutely hilarious. I mean, I don't know if you saw that exchange with Dana Bash a little bit earlier where the president was talking about the death of many of the top Iranian decision makers and she said, from the Israelis, said, well, it wasn't for Covid.
Scott Jennings
Yeah, Although they might be counted as COVID deaths to be fair, Ben, based on the precedent set five years ago. Look, the book is great. We appreciate you coming on. Keep up the good work at the Daily Wire and we'll talk to you again soon.
Colby Ekowitz
Thanks so much.
Scott Jennings
That has been Shapiro. And look, many of the best moments in our lives, we get ready for Father's Day. So many of you out there gonna be hanging out with your dads, your granddads, the important men in your life. How many of those Father's Day events are preserved forever? Maybe not a lot of them. Maybe you got old slides. Maybe you got a lot of different media out there. Old VCR tapes. Maybe you got a bunch of different old pictures. Why not preserve them forever digitally so that you don't have to worry if for some reason there's a fire at a house or maybe one of your elderly relatives passes and all of the old pictures are stored in the attic and they don't get found and they end up in somebody else's hands. Or you just don't know what happened to them. Digitally, you can protect those forever. My mother in law just bought a new home. She went up into the attic. Tons of left behind albums that probably had been forgotten that they were in the attic. How many times has that happened to you or your family? Wouldn't you like to know that you've preserved your family's legacy for as long as you can? Look into the future by digitizing everything out there that you have created and that your family has made for great memories years and years in the past. Old tapes, cassettes, film reels, print photos, whatever it is, put them in a legacy box today and turn them into digital files that can be shared forever. They've done it for a million and a half families to date, including our own. Don't let your childhood fade away on old tapes that are slowly disintegrating. It's time to digitize future proof those priceless moments. Great gift for dad. And let's be honest, nobody ever knows what to get dad. Maybe digitizing those old memories is a perfect gift. Go to legacybox.com clay today. Unlock. 50% off your order. If you haven't already gotten dad something. Hey, how about just saying we're gonna do this? You can go to legacybox.com clay today. 50% off. He's hard to shop for, but he probably likes old history in the family. If your dad's anything like my dad, Granddad, go to legacybox.com clay that's legacybox.com clay for 50% off.

I got an interesting message from a, from a friend's wife who is Iranian and still has a lot of family back in Iran. And I thought it was particularly interesting because what she said is something that I think is quite true. And you just heard Ben Shapiro kind of echoing this on some bit, but she just wrote, just wanted to confirm about the bombing on Iran. Many Iranians are happy is Israel took out these Islamic fanatics. They hope she's speaking on behalf of Iranians in the country. They hope this is the beginning of the end of 47 years of terror. For my fellow Iranians, thank you guys for speaking the truth and standing up for justice. I think it is very important for everybody out there to understand, and I know this is the case, but sometimes you forget many times people are being led by leaders that they despise. But the leaders rule with such an iron fist that if you rise up against them, they will kill you. They will kill all of the members of your family. That's what they've been dealing with for over 40 years now in Iran. And so the Iranian people, I think as a whole, if they actually had the freedom again, you can go back and watch 1970s before the Ayatollah came in. There's just women walking around in heels and miniskirts in the streets of Tehran. I mean, as Middle Eastern countries go, the people were quite free compared to what they live with today.
Clay Travis
Yes. And it would be a great thing if Iran became a country that people of Persian and Iranian heritage. It's not all. That's not entirely the same thing. Persians are an ethnicity within what we think of as modern Iran today. But they're a large, you know, that's the most predominant ethnicity there. It could be a great country. It could be a great country. You know, how often do we sit around particularly worried about the future of, I don't know, like Morocco or Turkey. No. You know, we play them in soccer, maybe in the World cup and we go visit them. And it doesn't have to be this way. It's a little bit like I feel on the crime issue, when you go to a country that, a place like Japan, for example, though I haven't been there. But you go to a country where they really have or even just an area of the country where they really have almost no crime, you say it could be this way.
Scott Jennings
Yes.
Clay Travis
Iran doesn't have to be a terrorist sponsoring hellhole. We don't actually have to accept that the world's got plenty of problems without Iran doing what it does.
Scott Jennings
And think about this from on behalf of the Iranian people, let's say that you were open to the idea that the ayatollahs were doing a good job running your country. Where's all your money gone? Where have all your resources gone? They've had control for 47 years, essentially 45 years, whatever the heck the math is. 46 years. What are they doing? They can't even stand up to Israel at all. The country that they've been labeling the Great Satan and saying they were going to wipe off the map. Israel has completely decapitated their government.
Clay Travis
Yes. And it's also just getting started in some ways. Meaning there could be more. There could be more pressure, there could be more strikes. Depends on what the Iranian response will be. And this is like, look, so far it's a remarkable success. Like I said, you don't want to celebrate too early. They have to keep their head on a swivel. We have to keep our head in a swivel here, too. These are determined enemies of the jihadist camp. But so far, Clay, this has been an incredible success. And a lot of people here who were gloom and doom and catastrophe, if Israel took this action, so far they missed this and they missed it by a mile. So we'll continue to watch this closely.
Scott Jennings

Episode: Hour 2 - Israel Owns Iran Airspace
Release Date: June 13, 2025
Host: Clay Travis and Buck Sexton
Guest: Scott Jennings (CNN Correspondent)
Guest Contributor: Ben Shapiro (Founder of The Daily Wire)
At the onset of Hour 2 (02:33), Clay Travis introduces the central topic of the episode: Israel's preemptive strikes targeting Iran's nuclear sites and high-level military assets. He emphasizes the magnitude of the operation, highlighting its swift execution and potential long-term implications.
Clay Travis engages Scott Jennings, a CNN correspondent stationed in Israel, to provide an on-the-ground perspective of the unfolding events.
Calm Amidst Crisis:
At 05:36, Scott notes, "It's a little calm out here. It's Shabbat Friday night here in Israel. So a lot of people are with their families and inside." Despite the ongoing military operations, daily life continues with resilience.
Israeli Military Success:
Scott elaborates on the unprecedented success of Israel's operations:
"Israel is doing heavy damage to other nuclear reactors around the region. They took out perhaps nearly the entire echelon of the IRGC, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps..." (07:04)
He compares the operation's effectiveness to previous significant military actions, citing it as one of the most successful in modern history.
Ben Shapiro joins the conversation, offering his analysis on former President Donald Trump's involvement and the strategic planning behind the strikes.
Trump's Foreknowledge and Support:
Ben asserts, "Donald Trump was 100% consistent on this issue... He said that Israel is a good partner to America, which means they should go fight their own battles." (08:58)
He credits Trump's unwavering support for Israel as a pivotal factor enabling the military's decisive action against Iran.
Operation's Execution as a Miracle:
Highlighting the operation's complexity, Ben states, "The entire construction of this is nothing short of a miracle. And it is good for the West and it is good for America." (08:58)
He underscores the meticulous planning and intelligence collaboration that made the strikes possible.
The discussion shifts to the political fallout and the Democratic Party's stance on Israel's actions.
Lack of Democratic Support:
Ben points out, "There are not many statements coming out from Democrats in Congress supporting Israel today because they are afraid." (11:03)
He criticizes the Democratic Party for its perceived reluctance to back Israel firmly, attributing it to internal fears and ideological shifts.
Impact on Democratic Coalition:
Addressing the broader implications, Ben remarks, "The coalition of the Democrats fundamentally thinks America and Western values are rotten at the core." (12:39)
He argues that this ideological stance is alienating traditional supporters and weakening the party's political base.
Colby Ekowitz provides a forward-looking analysis of the potential outcomes stemming from the current military actions.
Possible Regime Change in Iran:
Colby speculates, "The ultra-optimistic case is the regime falls... The most plausible scenario is that Iran's military is rendered essentially toothless." (32:50)
He envisions a Middle East reshaped by Israel's dominance, leading to realignments among neighboring countries.
Regional Realignments and Economic Cooperation:
He anticipates increased economic cooperation between Israel and other Gulf states, citing the Abraham Accords as a foundation for future partnerships.
The guest and hosts discuss the varied reactions from both the international community and within Iran itself.
Mixed Reactions Globally:
Ben notes, "No one is happier in the region than Mohammed bin Salman... They're participating in knocking down the ordinance coming the other way." (32:18)
This reflects the complex geopolitical alliances and the strategic interests of regional powers.
Iranian Public Sentiment:
Scott shares insights from an Iranian perspective, indicating a populace weary of prolonged conflict:
"Many Iranians are happy Israel took out these Islamic fanatics. They hope this is the beginning of the end of 47 years of terror." (42:39)
This suggests a potential shift in public opinion favoring stability and peace over decades of authoritarian rule.
Clay Travis wraps up the discussion by emphasizing the significance of the events and the need for vigilant observation moving forward.
Remarkable Success and Caution:
"This has been an incredible success... We have to keep our heads in a swivel here, too." (45:15)
He acknowledges the triumph of the operation while cautioning against complacency, given the unpredictable nature of regional politics.
Hope for Lasting Peace:
Travis expresses optimism that these actions could lead to a more stable and peaceful Middle East, free from the shadow of nuclear threats and ongoing conflicts.
Ben Shapiro (08:58):
"The entire construction of this is nothing short of a miracle. And it is good for the West and it is good for America."
Colby Ekowitz (32:50):
"The ultra-optimistic case is the regime falls... The most plausible scenario is that Iran's military is rendered essentially toothless."
Scott Jennings (42:39):
"Many Iranians are happy Israel took out these Islamic fanatics. They hope this is the beginning of the end of 47 years of terror."
Strategic Military Operations: The episode highlights the effectiveness and strategic brilliance behind Israel's recent strikes on Iran, portraying it as a turning point in Middle Eastern geopolitics.
Political Dynamics in the U.S.: There's a critical examination of the Democratic Party's stance on Israel, suggesting that internal ideological shifts are undermining traditional alliances and support.
Regional Realignments: The discussion anticipates significant changes in regional alliances, with Israel emerging as a dominant military and economic force, potentially fostering new cooperative relationships with Gulf states.
Public Sentiment in Iran: Insights indicate a possible shift in Iranian public opinion towards favoring stability and peace, reflecting exhaustion from decades of authoritarian rule and conflict.
Future Vigilance: While recognizing the success of the current operations, the hosts and guests urge continuous monitoring of the situation to navigate the unpredictable landscape of Middle Eastern politics effectively.
This episode provides a comprehensive analysis of Israel's military actions against Iran, delving into the strategic, political, and regional implications. Through expert insights and on-the-ground perspectives, Clay Travis and Buck Sexton offer listeners a nuanced understanding of the events shaping the current geopolitical climate.
