Right, welcome back into Clay and Buck. Let's talk about what's going on right now with the administration and the agenda of securing our borders, enforcing our immigration laws and making America safe again. You will see that over the weekend, there were a number of stories that deal specifically with immigration. One Clay mentioned, which is that the White House has put up posters of criminal illegal aliens which are set up on the White House lawn with big photos. So in the background of the hits that reporters do at the White House, they will see some of these posters. Clay. Which is one way, I think, of helping to get the message across that the administration is taking this quite seriously. The administration has no intentions of backing off of this policy and it's really just in the opening phases of it. Here's White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt. This is cut three, who is saying exactly that this is just the beginning of what they have planned. Play it.
Caroline Levitt
We are in the beginning stages of carrying out the largest deportation campaign in American history. Over this past weekend, it was announced that through Operation Tidal Wave, a joint effort between ICE, Miami and Florida law enforcement agencies, nearly 800 illegal aliens were arrested during the first four days alone. Operation Tidal Wave is a preview of what is to come around this country. Large scale operations that employ our state and local enforcement partners to get criminal, illegal aliens off our streets. As always, President Trump and our entire administration are grateful for the courageous law enforcement officers who, who are putting their lives on the line every single day to protect their fellow Americans and to keep our country safe.
Clay Travis
Clay, this is, as she said, just the early stages of this. There's going to be a whole lot more. I'll talk in a moment here. We can get into the storyline that they put to Marco Rubio on the Sunday shows that you deported like a five year old with cancer. And we'll discuss the response to that. Actually, they deported a, a woman, a mother who's not supposed to be here, and they let her take her child with her. Which is what is the alternative to that, Right? The alternative is you're going to deport the mother and the child is going to stay in America. Then, then we'd be accused of like federal government kidnapping or something. But we can get back into that here in a moment. First off, I thought this was a really important observation. I know you just talked to Tom Holman, Clay, last week you had, you had an interview with him in D.C. this is a guy who understands the moment and knows what is necessary here for the country to move forward and for the right things to happen on immigration. And he's been doing this a really long time, which gives him the perspective of somebody who can say without question that this is meaning what Biden did was the biggest betrayal of the American people and our sovereignty on the immigration issue ever. Ever, certainly in his lifetime. And I think you would have to argue that we have ever seen. This is cut six. He says he worked for six presidents and what Biden did, unprecedented play it.
Tom Holman
I worked for six presidents, starting with Ronald Reagan. Every president ever worked for took border security seriously. Because you can't have national security if you don't have strong border security. Even President Obama and President Clinton took some steps to secure the border. They understood national security was important. Joe Biden was the first president in the history of this nation who came into office and unsecured a border on purpose. That's just a fact. We handed the Biden administration after President Trump's first administration, we handed the Biden administration the most secure border in my lifetime. And he unsecured it on purpose.
Clay Travis
Clay, just like with the Biden cover up, it wasn't a mistake. It was a decision.
Buck Sexton
I would like to know who made the decision because this is why I think Biden's decrepitude matters. Because ultimately all you're doing when you elect a president is saying, I trust this person to make some of the most difficult judgment calls in the world. This person is who I want sitting there when. And you know this, Buck, because you made these arguments in the Oval Office when you were still working with the CIA, where you have two really smart guys or gals sitting across from you arguing two different perspectives. And ultimately you have to make the call as to which one of them has the better argument, who has the best judgment, who actually made these choices inside of the Biden White House. And I would like that to be known because I would like for that person to answer for opening the border wide open like this, for instance. Buck, do you think they just miscalculated and didn't realize how many illegals were going to come across because they suddenly panicked, obviously, in an election year. But by that point there had already been 10 million illegals come across the border. What was their ultimate aim and how did they think it was going to play out? Because even by standards of lax border security, they took it to a level we had never seen before. And unfortunately, all of us are going to be paying the price for that failure for years and years to come.
Clay Travis
I think that their plan was the one, two punch of flood the. Flood the zone, flood America with as many illegals as fast as you possibly can so that the weight of the issue then becomes unavoidable and There's a. A narrative of we have no choice. But in the second Democrat term, which they were expecting for Biden and I guess maybe even for Kamala, but they thought they would get because of the problem. Remember? Now, it seems crazy. They brought criminal. Four different criminal cases against Donald Trump. They thought they had him finished off by making him the first criminal president in history. Right. This was the whole plan. So they assumed, I think, Clay, they would have had four more years and then that that Democrat president would have even via executive means if necessary, you know, finding some way to. To give them the document, whatever it is that they had to do to. To effectuate and a mass amnesty. I truly believe that that was the plan because Tom Holman, I've never heard Tom Holman say something that wasn't straight on the money on this issue. And when he says, I work for six presidents, Biden's team did this intentionally. It's gospel. They did this on purpose. And the only way they would do it on purpose is that they had a plan beyond just letting them in, which was to make them stay forever and create a permanent Democrat majority in the process. People dependent on the state, people who are going to view the Democrat Party as their saviors, as, you know, bringing them into the country. And that was the game. And Donald Trump has saved the country from this. But it is a reprieve. It is not salvation. It is four years to figure out what to do about it. Right. It's not like the issue is gone.
Buck Sexton
And the problem that we have, and this is what I talked about with Tom Homan, and this is, I think, the biggest story structurally associated with the border. Our laws allowed Biden to let in 10 million illegals, and there was virtually no stopping it. Now those 10 million illegals are here. Tom Holmanbach said that he thinks the number of illegals in the country is roughly 20 million. How do you get those people out? Because right now, the laws that we have to put in place that would allow us to deport those people are incredibly time consuming. And so the best possible case scenario is you can deport about 350,000 people a year right now under the pace with which we are deporting people. If that's true, if that's the number, it would take 30 years, roughly, to get all of the illegals that Biden let in out of the country. And that's assuming that we keep the same protocols in place. This is why we have to change the way that we deport. And this is why I think there was a cold calculus behind the Democrat decision. It was. Once they get in here, it's almost impossible for them to get them out. And that's a problem because we have a different standard for illegals getting in than we have for getting the illegals out. And that disconnect means Democrats are playing the long game. They feel like those people are never going to leave and we're never going to be able to force them out.
Clay Travis
I mean, look at what this judge did in Milwaukee, which got a lot of attention, and we talked about it on Friday. Violating the law as a judge and thwarting the efforts of immigration enforcement officers because you're so convinced as somebody who's supposed to be not just knowledgeable in the law, but administering justice through the law day in and day out, that this country has no right to have the immigration laws that it does, and that you should, as a judge, supersede those laws. Somehow there's a greater moral authority. I mean, this, this judge, this woman in judicial robes, you get the sense she thinks she's operating in some higher moral plane. You know, like. Like this is going. Going back in our country's history and she's somebody who's, you know, operating the underground railroad or something and letting people get to freedom. You say to yourself, well, hold on a second. Is that, Is that really what you do? You think that our immigration laws are deeply immoral? Because if Democrats really think that, the same way that obviously slavery was deeply immoral, they should make that case openly. The problem is, if they made that case openly, Clay, then they'd be telling everybody in this country, america has a claim to your, to your labor, to your money, to your life, perhaps even if you are called into service. If this country were attacked as an American. But anybody can come here whenever they want and stay as long as they want, and they can live by a separate set of rules as long as they didn't start out as an American. That's a just regime. That's fair. You're talking about the dissolution of the country over a not too long a timeline.
Buck Sexton
And the question is the only thing that makes sense. Remember when you weren't even allowed to say this? I think they tried. The only thing that makes sense is they think these people are going to become citizens. And if they become citizens, they're going to vote Democrat. That's the only argument for why this is occurring. That they are playing the long range generational game of these illegal immigrants are going to come into the country and they are going to give us Political power also. And this is something else I would encourage the Trump administration to do. I know we have the birthright citizenship case. Buck, what's your take on this? Because I think it's the other aspect of this that's really important that doesn't get discussed enough. For purposes of the census for the House of Representatives, they count illegal immigrants as part of the overall 700,000 ish people that each congressman represents. By doing so, Democrats are stealing about 10 house seats because even though these theoretical illegal immigrants can't vote, they count for purposes of census apportionment. And so if you are a sanctuary city and you have 200,000 illegal immigrants in your, in your district, you have 500,000 legal citizens, based on my understanding of how the law is being applied right now, 200,000 non citizens. But they would still combine for a district of 700,000. And that's a, in a, in a, in a basically roughly even House. That's a benefit of about 10 seats in the House.
Clay Travis
California in our youth even was a pretty reliably red Republican stronghold of all the best things about America. And the Democrats let the place get completely flooded with illegals. They flipped it to a forever Democrat supermajority and now still a beautiful state. We love our California listeners. Thank you for maintaining sanity behind enemy lines. It is run by progressive lunatics and now they're losing hundreds of thousands of people a year or over a course of years because they can't stand to be there anymore. That's just, it's just the microcosm of what they want to do to America. Same thing, flood the zone with illegals. People who are going to need state resources and help. They're going to make sure that the Democrats stay in power forever. And then you, and then, you know, the whole country gets run like California. They that from the federal level. That's the whole plan, right? I mean, I, I don't think it's more complicated than that. They want to use the California model for America.
Buck Sexton
I think that's totally true. I think that's a good analogy. We'll take some of your calls. We'll continue to roll through the Monday edition of the program. Back in Clay Travis Buck Sexton show my 10 year old getting lit up Bunch of you finding pictures of Elon in his company's gear. So dad is way cooler than the 10 year old May have wanted to argue. For those of you didn't know I'm in a Crockett Coffee T shirt today. We got a shipment of new Crockett Coffee gear and I was wearing one over the weekend and I was bragging about hey look, I'm going to go drink my coffee while I'm wearing my coffee T shirt. And my 10 year old said well actually that's kind of a loser thing to do dad. Try to try hard. Try hard. Unk is is is what I was called the Travis boys do not let up as as I hope your kids do not either when it comes to letting dad have it. And so a lot of you had my back and there are ample pictures now circulating in my mentions of Elon wearing his gear as I had argued with my 10 year old that he was likely to do. Buck, I do think the border right now, the decision to put up those hundred images outside the poster board basically on the White House lawn in honor of 100 days. Do you think that MSNBC is going to say we have decided to put up a new backdrop rather than this is what I think they're going to do rather than allow for their stand ups. You know when they're standing there with the White House in the background I bet they take a picture of the White House before they had those signs up and say we will not allow the White House to propagandize us and so we're just going to put up a still photo in the background rather than allow those photos to be there. I think this is the next step.
Clay Travis
But then why be on the White House lawn?
Buck Sexton
I'm not saying that it makes any sense at all, but I'm saying I bet that, that maybe CNN would be willing to do it. I bet MSNBC will be doing it very shortly.
Clay Travis
I, I do love that the troll level is 10 out of 10 here by making them do something that shows because remember, these are violent. These are bad, as Trump would say. These are bad hombres that they have photos of in the background that have been deported. I mean these are people that are dangerous to be in any community in this country and they're not Americans. So they should go back to their country origin which should handle them. It's not our, they are not our problem anymore. They should never have been our problem. But I agree with you that they're going to have to figure out, I don't know enough about this. Maybe we can invite somebody on who's one of the White House stand up reporters. They do these stand up shoots there because yeah, they're going to have to find a word. They're not going to keep doing, keep doing this with the photos in the background. Look, inflation continues to impact the value of the dollar. You remember what we suffered through during the Biden administration, right? Well, we may see some temporary inflation this spring and summer while Trump. Right. Sizes these tariffs and deals with what needs to be, deal with, dealt with when it comes to trade. That means the value of our dollar may go down a bit. And when the value of the dollar goes down, our savings account lose some of that spending power. How do you hedge against this? The purchase of gold? Consider using a portion of your savings in 401 and investing it in gold. It's the one commodity that continues to increase with time and the smartest hedge against inflation and dollar value fluctuations. Just an update on this. I talked to you about this last week. India and Pakistan could go to war any minute. That could happen. It would probably be a, an incursion in, in part of, you know, in a limited battlefield space. But these are two countries with considerable militaries that hate each other and have nuclear weapons. And they've been gearing up for this kind of a fight for a long time. So just something worth noting, India has cut off water from the Indus river to Pakistan, which is necessary for all of its irrigation for agriculture, which is a huge part of the economy. And Pakistan needs to feed itself. But Pakistan, according to India, was behind this terrorist attack in Kashmir that killed dozens of people. I think was 26 people killed. And they have had enough. So, yeah, it is. Things are escalating over there. We will continue to keep an eye on that. I was thinking about it also, because Marco Rubio over the weekend was on the Sunday shows, and I think, you know, Rubio, you got to give this guy a lot of credit. He, he had a tough campaign against Trump in 2016, and now he has become really one of the, in the early days here, one of the indispensable members of this Trump cabinet and has not missed a step, from what I can see is one of the. He got a hundred or 99, maybe there was somebody who's gone that day. But basically everybody in the Senate voted for his confirmation, even his Democrat colleagues. And you, you don't hear any, you don't hear any blunders, really. You don't hear any criticism of Marco from anybody who knows anything. You only hear people talking about how this is a role that he has really, he's really kind of grown into the role, I feel like, or, you know, risen to this occasion as secretary of State and doing a very strong job. Let's get into some of what they, they tried to go at him with here, Clay, over the weekend. First off, I mentioned this in the first hour, but there are these stories about deportations of people who have children and the children go with them. And guess what? The media says we're deporting children. Right. This is, this is how. And Clay, this is what we thought all along. You know, the MS.13 gang member thing is a tougher. That's a tougher field to plow. Right? That's a tougher situation here. But the kids, Abuela, you know, whoever it is, you know, that's where you start to say, ok, they're pulling on people's heartstrings here.
Buck Sexton
Yes, I think this is where they miscalculated, Buck, because they should have waited till a story like this as opposed to trying to make Abreu Garcia the face of everything wrong with Trump's deportation. Now they've pivoted, I think, because they're recognizing, hey, maybe a wife beating, human trafficking, illegal gang member, allegedly. We know he was illegal. But all those other things there's ample evidence of as well, was not the guy we should have made the focal point of our entire opposition to the immigration policy. So they now, I think Buck, are trying to pivot because they're recognizing that that was a flawed strategy.
Clay Travis
Yes. Here is Rubio, though, talking about what really happened and he's straight up saying media's no surprise. Media is lying to you about the deportation of children play 24.
J
That's a misleading headline. Three US citizens ages 4, 7 and 2 were not deported. Their mothers who are legally in this country were deported. The children went with their mothers. If those children are US Citizens, they can come back into the United States if there's their father or someone here who wants to assume them. But ultimately, who was deported was their mother. Who's their mothers who were here illegally. The children just went with their mothers. But it wasn't like. You guys make it sound like ICE agents kicked down the door and grabbed the 2 year old and threw him on an airplane. That's misleading. Yeah, that's just not true.
Clay Travis
And that's the point, right? They were misleading on purpose. They're deporting citizen US Citizen children. Well, the alternative would be sending the mom out of the country. And then the story would be they're separating families, they're taking small children and not letting them ever see their mothers again because, you know, okay, so do we want family, you know, family staying together or not?
Buck Sexton
This is also the challenge with birthright citizenship at some level. And this is why it has to be addressed. And this is why I said I would layer on top of it the fact that the birthright citizenship has to be addressed with larger questions about American immigration policy. But why in the world are we allowing people who commit crimes to be here illegally to then be able to have children that become American citizens? Most of the universe, Buck, you don't get to commit one crime and then layer it with a benefit. And this would be an analogy, right? You don't get to. And this is serious. Right. But if you commit a crime and someone dies, Right. You don't get to then get the life insurance policy. Right. If they can prove that you committed a crime in order to get the benefit, you lose your ability to the benefit. Why would we allow. This is very logical to me and much of the, much of the law would agree with me. You don't get the benefit of a crime. But in the case of illegal immigrants coming here, they do get the benefit of the crime, which is they're here, they shouldn't be here. And then they have a child. And so their illegal act has led to a benefit being conveyed to them. Why in the world is that remotely legal? And so, again, I know the Supreme Court's going to hear it. I think there are many complicating aspects of birthright citizenship, but ultimately we're talking about deportations. Now, the big challenge is Republicans who want to deport are not going to be in power for the next 30 years. I'd love for that to be the case. Not going to happen. There will be Democrats. And when those Democrats come in, Buck, I think there's a very strong likelihood that like Biden, they just open the border wide open again and 10 million more illegals come in and the Darien gap is flooded again.
Clay Travis
And.
Buck Sexton
And this is the reality. And a lot of people in Latin America and around the world know they'll wait. We saw it happen when the guy came in with the Biden T shirt on. Remember, as soon as he won, Biden wants us to come. They understand incentive structure. Jobs are a tough incentive to eliminate because it's a sign of how good and vibrant our economy is. But birthright citizenship, it shouldn't exist. We really have to have a more honest conversation about this because you're encouraging people to commit crimes by giving them a benefit as a result of committing that crime.
Clay Travis
I think it's very important to remember all of the things that come along with the mass of illegal entry into the country we were talking about. Yes, sovereignty, yes. The social and political fabric of our country being stretched to the breaking point by people arriving who have all of the same claims to this country, according to Democrats, as those who are here and those who have built the country and those who are actual Americans. But beyond that, all you have to do is go talk to anybody in border patrol. They'll tell you, because of the overwhelming numbers at the border, they couldn't even begin to put a dent in the fentanyl importation. You know, illegal fentanyl trade into the country, which is killing large numbers of Americans. And remember, for the fentanyl that causes overdoses is also causing addiction, which is destroying families and job loss and causing crime from addicts wanting to go out and feed the habit and destroying neighborhoods because of the consolidation of the attics in certain areas of cities. I mean, you know, it. It's all of this that happens, and the border plays directly into all of it, right? There are people who are ODing, there are criminals who are stealing. There are these things that are happening in Chicago because of our wide open border in el Paso and McAllen and, you know, not anymore, but under Biden, right? So there's all of this stuff that happens because of the decision as we've been talking about. The decision that Biden made was a decision to bring all these secondary second order effects, right? These other things that come forward that are really bad and people need to understand it's really bad for the American people. And this is why what Trump is doing, there's so much that comes from this. It's almost like broken windows policing in a city to. So all of a sudden the businesses come back and I live this in New York City, right? Broken windows policing, the Giuliani miracle. All of a sudden, you know, women are jogging at night and they feel safe and new businesses are opening and real estate development happens. When you don't have a wide open border, all of a sudden there's more resources to go after the cartels. Not as many overdoses, not as much organized drug crime in cities and so on and so forth. There's so much that comes from this.
Buck Sexton
I would also. I think this is important. I bet you get these emails and these comments and these reach outs too. On this front, there's a different way of defining deportation, because every time I say, hey, 350,000, that's roughly the pace. I hope we can increase it, but obviously that's a pin prick. Of the 10 million illegals that came in, people will send me links and they'll say, oh, that's not true. So and so deported this number a lot of times historically, meaning in the last 25 or 30 years, the way deportation has been counted is people being rejected at the border that is different than people who have entered the country and are then sent out. A lot of times when they say, oh, Obama was deporter in chief, according to what I've been told, that's because there were people being rejected trying to enter the country, which was counted as a deportation. What we're talking about is there are 20 million illegals physically in our country right now. That's according to Tom Holman, roughly 20 million, over 10 million of those came in during the four years that Biden was here. In order to get those 20 million out, you have to physically get them here. There's two ways, right? They could leave voluntarily, which hopefully maybe some are starting to do. Although Tom Holman told me the numbers reflect maybe around 5,000 that they know of, deciding to go back. Otherwise, you have to get these people, gather them and take them out of the country, which is very time consuming, which is very costly. And right now we're on a pace to do about 350,000 of those a year. You do the math. And even if you did 350,000 of those for a year long into the future, you're talking about needing 30 years in order. And that's assuming no new illegals are coming in. You're talking about 30 years to get those people out of the country. Democrats know that that is highly unlikely because again, if they win elections, they're going to add in millions more. That's what they have put the roadblock in. That's why they're doing it.
Clay Travis
So I remember doing shows on this clay a decade ago and it was so dishonest what they were doing at the time. But what you mentioned is absolutely true, which is that while they were saying this is around 2014, so Obama's, you know, this is when they were trying to get the amnesty bill through. They're saying, Obama's the deporter in chief. Look at these deportation numbers. He takes border, the border seriously. The whole thing was a ruse. It was a, it was a fraud. And what they did was they changed the, the official statistic instead of what had been just termed catch and release and not counted in the figures, which is you get caught at the border, they put you on a bus and you're back across the border, end of story. Anybody that fell into that category was now considered a, quote, deportation. Meanwhile, this is the other part of it. I know you, you articulated this. The actual number of people who were in the American interior, not at the border, who were being deported year in and year out under the Obama administration up to 2014, when they were trying to do this, cratered down 50%, give or take. So they just decided to stop enforcing immigration law in America and change the way that they counted the day to day border patrol operations at the border to make it seem like they were doing a job that they weren't actually doing at all. Classic Obama. That was the whole, that was the whole move. And you know, people figured that out. Though I will say Republicans at that time lit up the congressional switchboards and people realized that the amnesty bill was a total disaster in part because when this swindle came out, everyone goes, oh, so you're just lying to us. You're just. And all we're going to get is amnesty. No, no. Enforcement's going to really happen, which was true.
Buck Sexton
And again, this is where I would say Congress does need to act because we at least need to try to put in place opportunities to stop the next Democrat president from coming in and doing exactly what Joe Biden did, which was just get his pin out, reverse every policy that was in place with Trump, and wide open the borders. We need to try and stop that from becoming a possibility if, who knows, AOC is suddenly, God forbid, elected president and then gets takes the oath of office in 2029. Do you think she wouldn't just wide open the border as soon as she got there? Of course she would.

There are very few nonprofit organizations who can claim that they have saved the lives of 300,000 tiny babies and help bring them into this world. But preborn can. Now, they say this with modesty, but they want you to know the truth, which is that they're saving lives on the front lines of the fight for life day in and day out. This nonprofit has been around for 20 years and they have a mission. As you know, we're in the post Roe v. Wade era, but there are a lot of states with as many abortions happening, if not more than before the Supreme Court finally did the right thing on Roe. And so it's incumbent upon those of us in the pro life community to do what we can to save as many lives as possible. I got to tell you, every time I look at my little son, I think of the urgency of this mission because I want every other would be parent out there to have that moment. They realize this is the most precious gift they could ever have for mom, for dad, the most amazing little miracle. And preborn is there to introduce them to that miracle and help them make the decision for life. They do this by bringing in moms who are in a crisis pregnancy and first offering them an ultrasound because that ultrasound creates that bond so often that is unshakable and unbreakable and leads mom to choose life for the baby growing in her womb. But they need your help. They get no money from the government. Preborn accomplishes their free ultrasound process by just with $28 in ultrasound. So you can sponsor an ultrasound right now by donating $28. Some of you are incredibly fortunate. The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show: Hour 2 - Media Deportation Dishonesty Summary
Release Date: April 28, 2025
Host/Author: iHeartPodcasts
Overview
In "Hour 2 - Media Deportation Dishonesty," hosts Clay Travis and Buck Sexton delve deep into the contentious issues surrounding the current administration's immigration policies. They critically analyze the strategies employed to secure the borders, enforce immigration laws, and the broader implications these actions have on American society. The conversation is marked by incisive commentary, expert insights, and a clear stance on the administration's approach to immigration.
1. Administration's Immigration Agenda
a. Operation Tidal Wave and Deportation Efforts
Clay and Buck begin by discussing the administration's intensified efforts to deport illegal aliens, highlighting "Operation Tidal Wave" which led to nearly 800 arrests in its first four days ([03:37]). They emphasize the administration's commitment to border security, asserting that these actions are just the beginning of a sustained campaign.
Notable Quote:
Caroline Levitt, White House Press Secretary ([03:37]):
"We are in the beginning stages of carrying out the largest deportation campaign in American history."
b. Expert Insights from Tom Holman
Buck introduces Tom Holman, an immigration expert who has served six presidents, to provide context on the administration's policies. Holman condemns President Biden's approach, labeling it "the biggest betrayal of the American people and our sovereignty on the immigration issue ever" ([05:52]).
Notable Quote:
Tom Holman ([05:52]):
"Joe Biden was the first president in the history of this nation who came into office and unsecured a border on purpose."
2. Challenges in Deporting Illegal Immigrants
a. Logistical Hurdles
The hosts discuss the monumental task of deporting the approximately 20 million illegal immigrants currently residing in the U.S., a number that has surged under the Biden administration ([06:29]). They highlight the inefficiency of current laws, which allow for deporting only about 350,000 individuals annually, translating to an estimated 30 years to reduce the population significantly ([08:11]).
Notable Quote:
Buck Sexton ([08:11]):
"If you do the math, it's going to take 30 years to get all of the illegals out of the country."
b. Structural Issues and Policy Failures
Clay and Buck critique the disconnect between the ease of allowing illegal entry and the arduous process of deportation. They argue that this imbalance is a deliberate strategy by Democrats to entrench power by creating a dependent immigrant population ([09:58]).
3. Media Misrepresentation and Public Perception
a. Misleading Narratives
The hosts address how the media portrays deportations, particularly focusing on cases where deported individuals have U.S. citizen children. They argue that headlines are intentionally misleading to evoke emotional responses without presenting the full context ([29:10]).
Notable Quote:
Buck Sexton ([29:10]):
"They’re deporting citizen US citizen children... It’s misleading on purpose."
b. Public Relations Tactics
Clay criticizes the administration's use of imagery, such as posters of criminal illegal aliens on the White House lawn, suggesting it as a propaganda tool to shape public perception of their deportation efforts ([24:07]).
4. Birthright Citizenship and Long-Term Implications
a. Policy Critique
The conversation shifts to birthright citizenship, with Buck questioning the rationale behind allowing children of illegal immigrants to gain U.S. citizenship. They argue that this policy incentivizes illegal entry and complicates deportation efforts ([32:25]).
Notable Quote:
Clay Travis ([32:55]):
"Why are we allowing people who commit crimes to be here illegally to then be able to have children that become American citizens?"
b. Political Strategy
Buck posits that the Democrats' immigration policies are part of a long-term strategy to secure political dominance by increasing the number of Democrats through naturalization of immigrant populations ([35:13]).
5. Comparative Analysis with Previous Administrations
a. Obama vs. Biden
Clay draws parallels between Biden's policies and those of previous administrations, specifically criticizing the Obama administration for manipulating deportation statistics to downplay enforcement failures ([37:16]).
Notable Quote:
Clay Travis ([37:16]):
"Classic Obama. That was the whole move. They just decided to stop enforcing immigration law and change the way they counted."
Additional Discussions
a. Potential India-Pakistan Conflict
Briefly touching on international affairs, the hosts mention escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, noting the risk of conflict and its potential global implications ([27:00]).
b. NFL Schedule Release and Upcoming Guests
Clay and Buck provide updates on the upcoming NFL schedule release and tease the appearance of Vice President J.D. Vance on the following show, adding a lighter note to the episode ([48:12]).
Conclusion
Clay Travis and Buck Sexton deliver a comprehensive and critical examination of the current administration's immigration policies, highlighting systemic flaws, media manipulation, and long-term political strategies. Their analysis underscores the complexities of enforcing immigration laws and the far-reaching consequences of policy decisions on national security and societal integrity.
