The latest is that President Trump is now in the SITUATION Room for a meeting with his top advisers about what he should do given Israel appears to be requesting that we use our bunker breaking bombs that will go deep underground to wipe out the ability of Iran to have nuclear weapons. They are making those nuclear weapons many different parts of the country, but in particular inside of and underneath a large mountain in Iran that they believe is unreachable by traditional weaponry. And they are correct. And Israel reportedly has been unable to get to the heart of that area. So there is reportedly a Situation room meeting going on right now surrounding that. We are taking your calls and your reactions to this. This is 10 years ago. I read a tweet from J.D. vance, Vice President. And by the way, you just heard Senator Ted Cruz of Texas at the end of the last hour laying out what he believes should be done. Senator Rand Paul is going to be with us at the top of the third hour. We'll see what the latest news is there and ask his opinion on this and certainly the big beautiful bill as well. And then at the bottom of the third hour. So about an hour and 20 minutes from now, we'll be joined by FCC Chairman Brendan Carr. But I wanted to play this for you. This is 10 years ago this week, on the very first day he announced he was running, President Trump said, I will stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons. For 10 years he has consistently said that. I want to play it for you. Now here is President Trump a decade.

That is Trump a decade ago. So Trump has been consistent, as J.D. vance laid out for a decade, in saying he will not allow Iran to get nuclear weapons. Now I said in the first hour that I believe if Israel is requesting our use of the big bunker bomb to take out once and for all Iran's ability to create a nuclear weapon that I think we should give it. That's point one, point two. And I may be going a bit further than other people that you're hearing. I think we should take the Ayatollah and those are difficult decisions and some people out there. You left in 1969. What do you think the people of Iran are thinking right now? What do you think America should do?

I hope I don't get too nervous because there are 40 years of statements I want to talk to with my American compatriots. But on the lighter note, first I wish you good luck play on your upcoming basketball challenge. If you lose, are you set back a lot of our agenda?

I did not expect the discussion of Iranian nuclear capabilities to begin with. Look, here's the reality. I would wreck Angel Reese and I think she's afraid of playing me and I put $100,000. She has no outside shot. I if I can, if I can hit a backboard from the three point line, I got a better outside shot than she does. All right, that's really funny. Okay, so you left Iran 1969. As you analyze this situation back and forth.

I was a student when I come in came to us first. Okay, I want you first of all I fully agree with the statements you make here today along with Senator the ayatollahs must go. But what I want you to understand is first of all, God bless Russia's soul. I wish he was here to see these days because he was one of the first to see the woke agenda that was brewing in Europe and was getting the leftist agenda that was fighting the American soul and in many ways succeeded in taking over Europe. That same group or way of thinking, leftist way of thinking that top of the shah in Iran almost succeeded in taking over America. I'm just so happy I voted for Donald Trump three times. What I want you to understand is the American compatriots to understand is that the media has succeeded in making you think that Iranians are a bunch of religious freaks that go along with religious teachings. In fact Iranians are less religious than any community I know in the West. We are to a point that I'm afraid same place that America is. I'm afraid that Iranians are going to lose belief in the Almighty just because of the bad religion teachings of the mullahs. The Iranian we don't need any boots in the ground. But this government has to go. Unfortunately a lot of burden of this government falls into the shoulders of very Mr. Biden who was at the time Carter's chief of staff was it or something like that national security had he along with certain leftists in Europe engineered this government being in Iran. So even for the sake of karma, please help remove this son of it. I don't want to get.

Yeah, no, I appreciate. Thank you for the call by the way. This is a really good idea. I would imagine that there are a lot of people that are born in Iran that are listening to us right now. Just like this caller. I actually reached out, I've got as many of you do friends with who are Iranian. I reached out to a couple of my friends just to ask them, hey, you still have family there? You have closer connections to the country. What should I know? I would like for you guys if you are listening right now, let me just do this. Iranian listeners born in Iran, family in Iran. What should we know based on your conversations with family members about what would happen? Because I think, I think most of you agree with me when it comes to the using the big bunker bomb and taking out nuclear Iran, right? I think most of you based on the reaction are going to agree with that. I think the Ayatollah is being removed is more challenging because we don't know necessarily what the next regime would be. Now I would submit to you it's unlikely the next regime is going to be worse than people chanting Death to America and trying to destroy Israel and trying to destroy America to the best of their ability to. I think that's unlikely. If we could have the royal family back in that was a much more modern version of Iran. I think a lot of people would support that. But what would actually happen and what is the overall vibe of the Iranians? Remember was it team research this for me, I believe it was 2019 when it appeared that the Iranian people might be close to overthrowing their leadership. When we had the so called Arab Spring and there were a lot of protests that were emerging all over the Middle East. Iran was one of the places with the most substantial protest. But the ayatollahs eventually managed to push that down and the people who were protesting did not rise to power. I think that was 2019. Again, I may be wrong if the team will look up exactly what year that was. But we know that there has been and underground disdain for the Ayatollah and his leadership for a long time. There isn't a lot of activity in the streets of Iran right now because, frankly, I think people are terrified and you don't know where the next attack is going to come. And the videos that I have seen coming out of Tehran are mostly people. I mean, Trump himself said, hey, everybody, leave. You know, to the 10 million people who live in that city, get out of it. So I've seen the roads packed. I think a lot of people who do have the ability to, to leave have left. And the targeted attacks have continued on high level, high ranking military and government officials from Iran. Whereas Iran's response has been somewhat haphazard, where they're just trying to land as many missiles to do damage to Iran, to the Israeli people as possible. Arab Spring, let's see, began in, okay, so that was longer ago. 2009 was the green uprising in Iran. But I feel like since then there have been other protests more outspoken. I know that they killed. There was a very much. I remember reading and paying attention to it. The women of Iran fought back against a requirement that they always wear the hijab, if I remember correctly. And the mullahs beat down on that quite severely and actually killed some young women who were deciding that they didn't want to wear the hijab. Also, there's been a tremendous crackdown on young girls dancing, just doing dancing videos by the mullahs there. In terms of coming after them aggressively, there were in fact, more recent protests. The team is looking this up in 2019 and 2020. And so that has continued and may well continue going forward when there is more safety on the ground. But these are big decisions. Again, reports that Trump is in the Situation Room. Iranian listeners born and raised there with family back in Iran. I would be curious to hear from you what you are hearing from your friends and family on the ground as we continue throughout the course of this program. We are monitoring in real time, maybe the most consequential decision that President Trump is going to have to make in office. A lot of different reports out there. Pentagon moving more fighter jets to the Middle east, extending the deployment of air assets already in the Middle East. And Aisha Hasni at Fox News reporting that they are now saying as well, a White House official, this is, let's see, Jake Traylor, who is at Politico. A White House official tells me the we Trump is referring to when he said we now have complete and total control of the skies. The we Trump is referring to is the United States. The official would not share, quote, additional operational details when asked if US Planes are currently flying over Iran. The Pentagon again sending more planes to the Middle East. And I'm trying, even as I'm doing the show, I'm trying to hit refresh because this is constantly evolving. And, and there now is also a move on Capitol Hill to require a declaration of war if America is going to be involved in the situation in Iran. And that might lead the president to act even more quickly. Massie has introduced the Iran War Powers Resolution, which would prohibit U.S. involvement in the Israel Iran war. I do not know if there is going to be much support for that in general, but all of this is happening in real time. We've got a lot of different people out there who want to weigh in, not surprisingly. Jim, in Tennessee, you helped develop these bunker buster bombs. What do you think when you hear that they might be deployed in Iran?

[Rand Paul]

Well, I was with the team that developed both the moab, the massive ordinance airburst weapon, as well as the bunker busters. And now that we have air superiority over Tehran or over all of Iran, essentially, that would allow the US Military, US Air Force to operate with impunity so that there would literally be nothing that the Iranians could do to stop our use of those weapons. And shy of that, or before doing that, I would recommend that we would or that Israel continues to attack the infrastructure that supports these facilities and the staff. So take out the staff, take out the infrastructure that supports it, the water, the power, all the utilities, and then the command and control. And then these facilities then would be operating autonomously without any input from command and control. And this is a massive series of somewhat interconnected, expansive tunnel systems, deeply buried facilities that would have to be then could then be taken apart piece by piece like a jigsaw puzzle. And then once and once you take out the systems node by node, then they would never be able to function again.

And then actual serious news happened and most people stopped talking about Senator Padilla. This story vanished. But he just took to the Senate floor and listened to him as he holds back tears talking about what happened to him. Cut 27. You've seen the video. I was pushed and pulled, struggled to maintain my balance.

First on my knees and then flat on my chest. And as I was handcuffed and marched down a hallway, repeatedly asking, why am I being detained? Not once did they tell me why. Oh, my God. I don't know how he survived. I'm sorry. I'm just wiping away the tears right now. Can you imagine for 30 seconds after he charged a woman in the middle of a press conference? They took him to his knees and then to his chest, and then they stood him up. And I'm. I'm sorry. I can barely talk to you. This is why no one who is masculine likes Democrats. Even the men are complete and total Willows. Sack up. You created this situation, Senator Padilla. If you wanted to talk to Kristi Noem, you could have just requested a meeting. You didn't have to storm in and actually interrupt her press conference. I do think it would have been hysterical if Kristi Noem had stormed into the Senate during his speech and interrupted his speech. You know, this whole idea of not letting people talk. I went on media buzz and I talked about this in the. We know that unfortunately, there are lots of people being targeted for their politics right now. There is a high temperature of anger. And I gotta be honest with you. What do we want the Secret Service to do? How close should we let a stranger get when I got to tell you, you're sitting there addressing the room. Kristi Noemes is not necessarily aware the lights are bright when you're standing up in front of that room. I do a great deal of public speaking. I can virtually guarantee you that. If somebody is advancing on the side and I'm facing the front of the room and there are bright lights and I'm talking, I'm probably not going to be aware of who that person is. People are like, well, she knows who he is. She had no ability to see him. He chose to create a stunt. And now he's showing up on the Senate floor with these crocodile tears about how he was treated. What do you want them to do? What was he hoping to achieve here if he had been able to continue up closer to her? Was he just going to completely interrupt the press of a. I mean, this is just it. He is so in the wrong here that the idea he would try to turn himself into a victim. I think men out there across America see this and think it's pathetic behavior. It's not hard for a United States senator to get attention. If you call a press conference and you are a Democrat senator, there are going to be a bunch of media that show up. Senator Padilla could have held. Held a press conference and attacked the Trump administration for what they're doing in Los Angeles, and the media would have shown up there, and they would have covered his event. The whole idea of storming into a Cabinet secretary's press conference and intercepting it and then being upset, interrupting it, and then being upset that the security detail associated with her, which I'm sure that I know. I talked to Tom Holman about a month ago up here in D.C. the number of death threats that Tom Holman is getting are off the charts right now. I would virtually guarantee that Kristi Noem is getting an unbelievable amount of death threats as well. Their job, the Secret Service, is. Is to protect her. They did exactly what they should have done. She didn't do anything wrong. They didn't do anything wrong. When they figured out who he was, they let him go. But would they do that for somebody if they weren't a senator? He's actually getting preferential treatment. And then to show up on the Senate floor and this situation is going on. I got to tell you, if I had security and somebody's yelling at me and advancing on me and I'm speaking up at the rostrum, I would want my security guards to do exactly what those guys did to him, get him out of there. You don't know what the situation is. We just saw what happened in Minnesota, sadly. Think about what happened when Salman Rushdie, as staff is pointing out, was up on the stage speaking, and the guy came up with a knife and stabbed him right in the middle of his address. You don't know what the intention is. The Secret Service doesn't. The security guards don't. Of a stranger who's advancing angrily on a speaker in the middle of a press conference. I just. I really don't understand remotely how he is a victim in any way here. And again, we haven't really talked about it very much because we're actually dealing with very significant decisions as to what the president should do in Iran. And I imagine most of you who have paid attention to this at all have felt basically the same way I do. Hey, look, I'm not somebody who's gonna say every time a man cries is unacceptable. You know, maybe your dog died. Maybe. Maybe your favorite team just won a championship and they're tears of joy. But fake crying about that. Like, I don't even believe that he is even that troubled emotionally by what happened to him. I really don't. And to show up. What day was that? Thursday. Those. Thursday afternoon. Right. Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. Five days later, he takes to the Senate floor and he's still so overwhelmed by what happened to him on Thursday that he's unable to restrain his emotions. I just. I don't buy it at all. And I would argue. And in fact, I do. This is my new book that's coming out in November. I. I would argue that one reason young men have so pivoted away from the Democrat Party is strongly because of the way that people like Padilla respond. Because it's fundamentally anti masculine to be crying about a situation like this that you caused. And not only is it not masculine, it's also dishonest and inauthentic. I think what young men in particular see in Trump is they don't agree with everything Trump does, but they believe that he is authentic. And in my book, I argue that the moment that that bullet buzzed his ear in Butler, Pennsylvania, and he stood up and said, fight, fight, fight. In that crucible moment, I think most men in America said, this is my guy. And I know a lot of women did, too. But I think uniquely for men, in a position of peril like that, you can argue it was reckless, foolhardy even for the President of the United States. Running for President of the United States, former president at the time, for him to stand up and pump his fist and say, fight, fight, fight, and let everybody know he was okay, there could have been a second shooter. It may have been a reckless thing for the President to do. I bet the Secret Service, in retrospect, they were like, man, you should have kept him down behind that podium. Because the danger of exposing himself in that manner right after the bullet buzzed his ear. But in that moment, in that crucible moment of test, I think he revealed his inner core. And it was exactly the inner core that he had been telling us he represented since he came down the escalator 10 years ago. You may not agree with everything the President does now in his term, you shouldn't. Nobody should agree with everything any political figure does. You should all think for yourself, and sometimes you should disagree. But for him in that moment, to have behaved that bravely, I think for the election, it was decided on that day. I really do think for many men, that was the moment they said, hey, Trump's the guy, he's the dude, he's the man in the arena, and he isn't faking it. And then you contrast it with this Senator Padilla thing, crying five days later on the Senate floor, they took me to my knees. I can't. It's just so fake. And I think, again, authenticity is what young men and I think most voters, but young men in particular are seeking because they feel like they're lied to so much. And young men and young women out there still dealing with the fact that they were lied to so much about COVID I think there's a lot of anger. I think Trump channels that anger. But I think the sheer balls that he showed on that day in Butler, Pennsylvania, won him the election. And I think what Senator Padilla is doing, they pushed me to the ground. It's just so fake that everyone is looking at him and it's the antithesis of what Trump did. We'll take some of your calls. Now she thinks the United States is worse. It's an interesting perspective. I don't know about you. If I. Presumably she's still a citizen of Somalia, too. If I had dual citizenship. And I thought the country that I'm in right now was worse than the country I was a citizen of. I would go back to the country that I used to be a citizen of. I mean, is that crazy? Is that a wild take? I mean, if you have dual citizenship and you truly believed that the country you were in right now was worse than the country that you grew up in, wouldn't you go back to the country that you grew up in? Yet they never do, do they? What's interesting, Neil, I know more. Oh, my gosh, the United States is the worst place ever. She was born in Mogadish, Mogadishu, Somalia. So she's, I presume, still a citizen of Somalia. She could go back. She could lend her substantial talents to the Somali government. She would love it. It's better than here, evidently. Seems like a good choice she could make. Yeah, she's not making it, but it's really kind of intriguing. We're breaking down everything.
