Welcome back in Clay Travis Buck Sexton show. Lots of news Friday edition of the program. We're going to dive into it all. Let me also update you right here. This just came down. In addition to everything else going on around the world, Pope Francis, 88 years old, has had a sudden worsening condition and has been placed on a mechanical ventilator the in Rome. And so that story in and of itself is one worth following as well. Again, if you haven't been paying attention, 88 year old Pope, double pneumonia, has been in the hospital for some time, has had a bit of a setback according to this statement and has been placed on a ventilator. We will see how that goes in addition to all of the other geopolitical maneuvering and tension that is taking place right now. Ok. For those of you who maybe are just getting in your cars or you have not been aware of what has been transpiring. We had fireworks in the Oval Office with Vladimir, with Zelensky there alongside of J.D. vance and President Trump. The expectation was today that there would be a mineral rights agreement signed. That has not happened. Zelensky in the last half hour or so left the White House. Trump put out a statement saying evidently Zelensky is not ready to move towards a peace accord. And he let it be known two things. One, Ukraine can't win the war. Two, the United States is not going to continue to pay for this war that Ukraine can't win going forward. Zelensky in the Oval Office alongside of JD Vance and Donald Trump. It got very, very testy. Let me play a couple of these cuts. The first two guys that we played in the first hour. For people out there who may not have heard what this sounded like. Let's play a couple of minutes from inside of the Oval Office. Just in the last couple of hours. Here's what it sounded like.
J.D. Vance
I'm talking about the kind of diplomacy that's going to end the destruction of your country.
Clay Travis
Yes. But if you, Mr. President, with respect.
J.D. Vance
I think it's disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media. Right now you guys are going around and forcing conscripts to the front lines because you have manpower problems. You should be thanking the president for trying to bring it into this.
Volodymyr Zelensky
Have you ever been to Ukraine that you say what problems we have?
J.D. Vance
I have been to come once. I have actually, I've actually watched and seen the stories. And I know what happens is you bring people, you bring them on a propaganda tour. Mr. President, are, do you disagree that you've had problems like bringing people into.
Clay Travis
Your military and do you think that it's respectful?
Volodymyr Zelensky
I will answer.
J.D. Vance
Come to the Oval Office of the United States of America and attack the administration that is trying to, trying to prevent the destruction of your country.
Volodymyr Zelensky
A lot of, a lot of questions. Let's start from the beginning.
Clay Travis
Sure.
Volodymyr Zelensky
First of all, during the war, everybody has problems, even you. But you have nice ocean and don't feel now, but you will feel it in the future. God bless you don't know that. God bless you. God bless you. Don't tell us what we're going to feel.
Clay Travis
Okay. So that was the first part. Trump cutting in after J.D. vance had begun the discussion with, with Zelensky. Let's hear more as it continued for frankly, unlike anything we've ever seen before in a public fashion inside of the Oval Office.
Volodymyr Zelensky
We're trying to solve a problem. Don't tell us what we're going to feel. I'm not telling you because you're in no position to dictate that. Remember this. You're in no position to dictate what we're going to feel. We're going to feel very good. We're going to feel very good and very strong. You will feel influence. You're right now not in a very good position. You've allowed to be in a very bad beginning and he happens to be right about from the very beginning of the war. You're not in a good position. You don't have the cards right now with us. You start having cards right now. You don't wear your playing cards. You're gambling with the lives of millions of people. You're gambling with World War Three. You're gambling with World War Three. And what you're doing is very disrespectful to the country, this country that's far more than a lot of people said they should have.
Clay Travis
You said thank you once a lot of times.
J.D. Vance
No, even today. You said even today you went to Pennsylvania and campaigned for the opposition in October. Offer some words of appreciation for the United States of America and the president who's trying to save your country.
Clay Travis
Okay, so that is the fireworks that just took place. And we have been talking Buck, by the way, out today. He was on for the first hour. He's in the process of preparing for the arrival of baby number one. Lots of family in town. He is out for the rest of the show. He'll be back with me on Monday's edition of the program. Now, what's really going on here? You might have heard me talking with the Attorney General of Kansas. To me, this is basic negotiation. I don't want to sound like Costanza on Seinfeld, but it's negotiation. Jerry, if you remember that episode, most of the people that are going to be reacting in a histrionic fashion in media have never actually been engaged in any kind of serious negotiation in their lives. What is happening here is Trump is having to speak hard truths to a Ukrainian president that has convinced himself he's Winston Churchill. Those hard truths are point one, you can't win the war. If anybody out there listening to me right now disagrees with that point, call me in and tell me how I'm wrong. 800-282-2882. The most important analysis here is Ukraine cannot win this war. If you believe that to be true, and I don't even think you can make an argument that Ukraine can win the war unless you're out there right now listening and you're saying, you know what? I want this to turn into a world war. I want there to be American troops. I want Naito to be involved. If that were to occur, then, yes, I think Ukraine could win the war. If we gave them millions of troops, they would have more than Russia would. But then Russia might decide to use nuclear weapons, right? No one wants to take this to the next proverbial level. If Ukraine is fighting against Russia, Ukraine cannot win. That is point one. If Ukraine cannot win the war, why are we continuing to give them billions of dollars? You don't have to agree with me, by the way. I will take phone calls if anybody out there can make the case. These are, to me, the two most important points that need to be analyzed here. Can Ukraine win three years in? The answer is no. That doesn't mean that the Ukrainian men haven't fought bravely. That doesn't mean that Ukraine doesn't have the right to defend itself. Those are different questions. The question at the most basic level is, can they win? The answer to me is no. And I don't think that anybody out there could argue Ukraine can win. If you already know how the war ends, Ukraine's going to lose. Why should we be giving billions of dollars in taxpayer money to allow Ukraine to continue to lose more slowly? What is the benefit to the American taxpayer? Why should my dollars go to Ukraine? Why should your dollars go to Ukraine? This war should end right now. There should be a ceasefire again. The next step becomes, where is the line drawn? Where is the squiggly line on the map drawn. And those negotiations might take months, they might take years, but once you're in the process of negotiating where the line is, and I would submit to you, it's probably somewhat akin that line to where the lines between the troops are right now, why would you continue the war in any way? Usually when one side knows it can't win, the war ends. I'm not defending Russia invading Ukraine. I'm not saying that I like Vladimir Putin at all. I'm merely saying he's going to win. Isn't it in the best interests of America for the war to end and for us to stop spending tons of our money, billions and billions of our dollars, on a war that Ukraine can't win? This ceasefire should be signed today. What Trump is doing in saying this publicly is he's actually also giving Russia room to win the war on its side, too. Because as I laid out earlier, you can't buy into this Disney fied era of our media where we say, oh, Ukraine is all that's good and pure and Russia is all that's evil and rotten. Because then how do you bring this to a conclusion? And I used as an example a divorce negotiation. It's very rare that each in a divorce, some of you have been through them. It's very rare in a divorce that each side is equally at fault. News flash. Usually the husband or the wife is worse and they're the cause more so than the other person of the relationship ending. But if you spend a lot of time on fault, it makes it very difficult to get the divorce realized. That's why no fault divorce came to be, because you don't spend all the time sitting around trying to figure out all of the things that happened in the past that were awful and trying to assign a portionable blame as a result. You simply go back and say, hey, let's stop the fighting. Let's get a solution. That's where we are. This war has been fought. There is no doubt who is going to win. It is Russia. The question is, where is the line going to be drawn? And arguably, and I think it's right, telling the public, telling the world, telling Zelensky to his face that exact truth, instead of leaking it through the New York Times or the Washington Post so he could read it in the newspaper later, I think is going to hasten the ceasefire taking place. Now, some of you may not like the way that it played out. Some of you may say, well, this should all occur behind closed doors. None of this should be in public, you could make that argument. But that's not really the way that Trump has ever behaved as a president. The Trump that you get in public is not very different than the Trump that you get in private. He's basically the same guy all the time. I think that's one reason it's very hard to attack him, because the American public has come to understand, for better or worse, what a day to day Trump existence is like. I think what Trump did today is going to make it more likely that there will actually be peace in Ukraine. Okay, we'll open up phone lines. I will let all of you react. You don't have to agree with me. Maybe you think I'm missing something. 800-282-2882. The First Amendment, as always, alive and well on the Clay and Buck Show. I want to tell you as we get ready to roll through this final hour. And thank you. There's also some drama down in the state of Florida. Remember we had Byron Donald's on Wednesday. He's announced that he's going to run for governor. Do you know who else might be running? Casey DeSantis. Before everything blew up in the Oval Office, I thought we were going to spend a decent amount of time talking about this. I'll play some audio for you of that. For those of you in the Sunshine State, and I know a lot of you listening are there got some drama, maybe big drama coming in next year's presidential election. I'll lay out exactly what that was. But when you think of your family's most important moments together, how many of them were on videotape or were on old school photos that weren't able to be shared digitally? Jackie Heinrich with FOX News reports as follows. Let me make sure that I get this pulled up and get all of this accurate. White House officials tell Fox again, this is Jackie Heinrich. Trump kicked out Zelensky. That Zelensky did not leave on his own. The rare minerals deal was not signed. The White House says Ukrainians were begging to reset, but Rubio and Waltz informed them Zelensky need to leave the White House's grounds and only return when he's ready for peace. Let me pause here for a second. This is like what your mom does when you've done something bad and you try to make up for it. And then they say, no, no, no, no, you can only come back and talk about this when until you eat your broccoli, we're not going to have any other conversations. This is mom or dad treating Zelensky like a child. Continuing. The president and US Officials felt disrespected by Zelensky's rhetoric and demeanor. They said he was shrugging and rolling his eyes during the conversation. Uh, she says, when I went to the upper press room to ask what was going on, this is actually pretty funny. The lunch that Trump and Zelensky were supposed to dine on and talk over was sitting in the hallway. I'm told White House press office staffers will be eating it instead. So the real beneficiaries here is the White House press staff probably having a way better lunch than they were anticipating. But that is all. Details from Jackie Hinrich in the last half hour. A lot of you want to weigh in, variety of different calls. Let me get to at least one of those right now. Art in Georgia, what you got?
Caller Art
Hey, bro. Well, you know, it's kind of odd because I called in and I said, you know, this would be a good time for Trump to just tell Zelensky, you know, okay, if that's how you want to play it, just go on back home to Ukraine and do what you're going to do. But we're done. We're not doing this no more. And sure enough, it comes out that that's exactly what happened. So, you know, I applaud Trump. I think he's playing from a position of strength and I hope he keeps it up because this is the only way sometimes to get through to people is, is just, you know, somebody said, well, one time before to me that, you know, humans always have to do things the hard way. Just to figure out how easy it would have been if that had just been smart about things.
Clay Travis
Well, look, I think gonna. Yeah, thank you for the call. We're coming up on a break here. I think the biggest takeaway is Zelensky doesn't have a blank check from America anymore. Joe Biden was going to keep stroking checks for tens of billions of dollars. He can't fight the war without American support. And Trump and his team have decided that Zelensky can't win. Okay, once you decide that somebody can't win, why would we keep giving them money to fight a war they can't win? It's all just a question of how this ends now. And to me, Trump has just accelerated the end game by letting the nation know and the world know that we aren't Ukraine's bank and we're not going to continue to fund a war they can't win. It seems to me maybe not kind, but certainly hyper rational. Look, life hack for all of you out there, Hillsdale College, free online video courses, 40 of them, each series, multiple episodes that unpack topics like the history of our world wars or how our Constitution came to be, or the enduring values of a free market economy and why that fuels our nation's entrepreneurs. These are amazing. Look. World War I, World War II, the ancient Roman Empire. What is the background of the Constitution? Mark Twain. There are so many cool topics, all for you to watch. No grades, no class schedule, just learning for learning sake. Check them out@clayandbuckforhillsdale.com no cost. Easy to get started. Clay and Buck F O R hillsdale.com that's clayandbuck4hillsdale.com Zelinsky has posted. He says as follows, thank you, America. Thank you for your support. Thank you for this visit. Sorry. Thank you, potus, Congress, and the American people. Ukraine needs just and lasting peace and we are working exactly for that. This is. I'm laughing a little bit because JD Vance said, can you just say thank you once? And Zelensky's response again, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Four thank yous. Right off the top here, reports that Zelensky wanted to continue to negotiate. I think this is an interesting, interesting question. Will he leave the United States now? It's not that big of a deal given international travel. If he flies back to Ukraine, he could turn around and fly back. But there are reports out there that he wanted to continue the meetings in the White House and Trump just said no. It doesn't feel like you're ready to get a peace deal. Done. And he effectively kicked him out of the White House. So will there be a departure from Washington, D.C. or our country by Zelensky, or is it possible they come back in a couple of days and have further conversations? So that is the absolute latest on what took place in the Oval Office, and we are breaking it all down. Producer Buck will be back on Monday. He is in the process of going through all of the. All of the preparations, as many of you have been through them for having a baby. They are having a baby shower. All the family is in the house. He was on with us for the first hour and he was like, he, we're texting earlier. I said, hey, just go ahead and take care of all the craziness that you're involved in right now. He'll be back with us on Monday. Ali. Producer Ali, has anyone reached out to disagree with my take here? Is there anyone who is upset with Trump and what he did based on the emails and calls that you have seen so far? Because I said, look, I understand if you agree with me, that's great. I'm open to taking calls from people who agree with me. But what I said is, is there something that I'm missing? Anybody out there in the millions of people right now listening all over the country that wants to call in and say, clay, I think you missed this. You're totally wrong about this. Ali, are we getting any of that? We're getting some disagreement, but I wouldn't really say it's disagreement that has merit. Like here. Well, here is what you sent me. VIP email from Richard. I disagree with your comments about the approach to peace. Biden supported Ukraine to tie, not to win. Negotiations would move more quickly if we continue to provide weapons and let Ukraine retaliate by. By firing into Russia? Well, see, here's my thing with Richard's perspective there. I think if we allowed Ukraine to fire weapons into Russia, American weapons into Russia, that we would actually be accelerating the war. So my concern then is that Russia is going to move to a more aggressive posture in terms of the weaponry that it rains down on Ukraine. So I don't think that's a good solution. And if Ukraine has been supported to the point where there is a tie, once you have, first of all, it's not a tie because they've given up territory, but once you basically have reached a stasis, right, nobody's really moving very much one direction or another. Isn't the smartest thing to do to preserve as many lives as you can by getting a ceasefire? There are Going to be a lot of people attacking Trump. But I think what you need to keep in mind is Trump's actions actually make it likely that less people die. As a general rule, shouldn't the American president support things that make it less likely to. That people die in war? This is why the attacks on Trump, to me, are going to be so interesting. Again, you can't always do it. Sometimes you have to fight wars. Sometimes you have to stand up to evil. We did it in World War II. We certainly have done it throughout most of American history. I don't hear anybody. I've got three boys. I don't want them going to fight a war in Ukraine. They're not old enough yet, but they could be one day. A lot of you out there listening to me right now have sons and daughters that are serving in the military. Do you want them on the front lines fighting with Russia to preserve Ukrainian territory? Again, this comes down to a squiggly line in a country that most Americans couldn't find on a map. Trump has made what I think is the correct decision that Ukraine cannot win. He now is saying that publicly. Why would we not go ahead and try to find a way to stop spending our taxpayer dollars and to stop having men on both sides for Ukraine and Russia and other countries, to be fair? Because there are a lot of mercenaries fighting for Russia, not be sacrificed on the battlefield with no particular point to be gained from it. Okay, I wanted to play this for you. Uh, I'll continue to take calls to close up the show today, Friday edition of the program, take you into the weekend. Uh, but I did get a little bit of spice here. There has been rumors that Casey DeSantis, the wife of Ron DeSantis, is going to potentially run for governor of Florida and try and take over when Ron DeSantis, her husband's term ends next year. That has been the under, sort of belly story associated with Byron Donalds, who we had on Wednesday deciding to run for governor. Casey, who, by the way, I really like, think is very smart. I think that she has been fabulous as the. I guess it's the first lady of Florida, right? Um, I think she has been a great asset to Ron DeSantis and people of Florida. She was asked about whether or not she would potentially run for governor of Florida, and she didn't say no. Listen. Well, I would say one thing. To quote the late, great Yogi Berra.
Volodymyr Zelensky
When you come to a fork in.
Clay Travis
The road, take it. You guys can read in that. Which way? Look, I mean, I think that I've.
J.D. Vance
Been I've had people coming up to me for years begging to get her in the fray because I think you.
Clay Travis
See with her presentation, I mean she's.
J.D. Vance
Passionate, she's articulate, she's smart, she's got rock solid values. I remember Rush Limbaugh, late, great, great friend of mine and you know, he was always upset because he thought that the spouses pulled the office holder to the left. And he said with Casey, I don't have to worry about that. She's more conservative than you.
Clay Travis
So does that sound like an answer where you say, no, she's not going to run? Interesting, right? I didn't ask Byron Donalds directly about it, but I did ask Byron Donalds on Wednesday about DeSantis and whether he thought he could get DeSantis support. Listen to that answer. This was Wednesday on the program. Byron Donald's talking to Buck and me. Do you think that Governor Ron DeSantis will endorse? How do you think that he will play it out? He's term limited out for people out there who may not know. So he cannot run again. 2026, there's going to be a new governor regardless. Are you going to ask for seek his endorsement? What do you think he'll do with the race?
Byron Donalds
I mean, I would love to earn it. And I think the reason and I think honestly, you know, back in 2018, you know, when Governor DeSantis, then candidate DeSantis had won the primary and the radical left tried to go at him because you know of a phrase to use about referring to his opponent, you know, I went and did media and stood in the gap for him because I believed he was going to be a great governor. And I proven right. He has been a great governor. You know, I was there to help him win in 2018, campaign for him, have always supported him. And I think at the end of the day I just want to be able to pick his brain, you know, learn from him. You know, that being the chief executive is not easy. And so there's a lot of I know there's a lot of advice he has. I want to be able to lean on that. And so I would love to be able to earn his support. And I think there'll be a time for that. We'll see how that goes.
Clay Travis
Okay. So Floridians, can you imagine Casey DeSantis vs. Byron Donalds? That would be a heck of a Republican primary battle. And I just wanted to play that audio for you because she got directly asked about it and then you heard Ron, as he should do as a husband, talking about how awesome his wife was. Ron DeSantis won the state of Florida by was it 19 points I think, right in 2022, Byron Donald's now has the endorsement of Donald Trump. What if we get Casey DeSantis versus Byron Donald's Republican primary? I don't, I can't imagine that there's any primary in America that would be more of a battle. And a lot of y'all down in Florida listening to me right now. I mean, you love Ron DeSantis, you love Donald Trump, you really like Byron Donalds, love him as well. Buckle up. I just, I think again, based on that answer, we'll see. I think Casey DeSantis may be seriously thinking about running for the governorship to take over from her husband, which we've never, I mean, I can't remember it. I know it used to happen back in the day sometimes guys were term limited out and the wife would come in or you would have an illness or something happen to the, to the spouse and the other one comes in. I mean this is how Mark Kelly, the senator from Arizona got into politics, if I remember correctly, was because his wife Gabrielle Giffords was shot, attacked at a public event in Arizona. So I again, I just want to put a pen in this story. I don't know that you're hearing a lot about it anywhere yet, but when I saw that answer, it's pretty easy to say if you're not going to do something and you've decided not to do it, Casey DeSantis didn't do it there. Welcome back in Clay Travis Buck Sexton Show Appreciate all of you hanging out with us as we are rolling through the final episode of the week. Almost 15 hours in the books here, a few minutes remaining on the program and a couple of different emails I'll react to. Do we still have Paul and Michael guys to be able to to take these calls? Let me know. Text me VIP VIP email from Pat I strongly agree Trump and Vance did what they needed to do today. Zelensky needs a reality check and the war has to come to an end. Question what do you think Putin's reaction to this was today? I do think Trump should have not let it go on as long as he did. What do you think? I think Putin is happy because I think what it creates is the idea that he's not pure evil. In other words, if you heard my negotiating analogy and mediation or divorce as an example, you oftentimes have to get away from the concept of one side is good, the other side is evil to resolve a settlement. I wish that Putin had never invaded Ukraine. I think that Putin invading Ukraine was a flouting of international law. Their question is what are you going to do as a result? I also wish, by the way, that Hamas had not invaded Israel on October 7th. Right. There are lots of awful things that are happening every day. Was it 70 Christians got beheaded in the Congo according to reports out there. There's awful things happening everywhere around the world on a regular basis. The question is to what extent should American and American taxpayer money be involved in trying to right wrongs around the world? And once we know how a conclusion is going to occur, that is Ukraine can't win, does America have an obligation to try and bring peace to the world? To me, the big story here what's going to get lost is Trump is trying to end the war. Paul in California, what you got for us?
Caller Paul
Hey, so the first thought was a single face to face meeting can ruin years of patient diplomacy. But I think of that quote from Bush during the invasion of Kuwait Thuggery writ large. And that's how I look at this. The invasion of Ukraine by Russia, kind of like Iraq and Kuwait, I think it seems like one country invading another one. So that's.
Clay Travis
So you think so? Let me ask you a question then. Sorry to cut you off. In the case of Iraq invading Kuwait, we put American soldiers on the ground and kicked Iraq out of Kuwait. Do you think American soldiers should be committed to the war in Ukraine?
Caller Paul
Well, I think that once there's US Interests in Ukraine, like a minerals deal, then that kind of ends. That's game, set and match for the Russians.
Clay Travis
Okay, so again, my question is how would you end this situation right now?
Caller Paul
I think the United States has the ability to go to Russia and say you need, there needs to be a cease fire now and withdraw to your pre, you know, your pre assigned lines or pre war lines. And I think that the United States has the ability to make that happen.
Clay Travis
So why I thank you for the call. That is not going to happen. So your solution to the war is we should just go to Russia and say, hey, in the invasion and go back to your preexisting lines? Come on.
Caller Paul
I mean, I think that's what, I think that's what we have helped other countries do to fight, to fight off.
Clay Travis
So you think the only thing keeping Vladimir Putin from ending the war is Trump saying, hey, you need to go back to your preexisting country lines?
Caller Paul
I think the United States has a lot more influence against Russia than, I.
Clay Travis
Mean, so why didn't Joe Biden just say that?
Caller Paul
Well, I don't think Joe Biden was capable of thinking he could do that.
Clay Travis
Okay, thank you for the call. With all due respect, that is a ridiculous position to call into a national radio show in advance. Hey, all we have to do is just, hey, just Trump should just call Putin and tell him, hey, you need to go back to where you were before you invaded three years ago. That's your, that's your take. You wanted millions of people to hear you. Hey, just, all we gotta do is just call the Russians and tell them to just, just go back to where they were. That'll solve it all. Come on. You know it is. Sometimes people have misguided ideas of how these things are going to play out. Again, the two takeaways that I think are important that Trump illustrated today in the Oval Office is Ukraine can't win the war. The whole world now knows if they didn't before, Ukraine can't win. Once you know Ukraine can't win, what's the fight going on for it's over where the borderlines are going to be drawn going forward. And all of the people who lose their lives after we know how the war is going to end are being sacrificed for nothing. Trump is trying to bring peace to Europe, which is a good thing, even if some people not going to love his methods. We'll be back on Monday.

Clay emphasizes the gravity of the situation, noting that the Pope has been battling double pneumonia and his recent placement on a ventilator is a significant development amid global tensions.
A major segment covers the heated interaction in the Oval Office involving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, former President Donald Trump, and Senate candidate J.D. Vance. The trio was expected to finalize a mineral rights agreement, but the meeting devolved into a public confrontation.
Key Excerpts:
J.D. Vance [02:25]: "I'm talking about the kind of diplomacy that's going to end the destruction of your country."
Clay Travis [02:31]: "Yes. But if you, Mr. President, with respect."
The discussion becomes increasingly tense as Vance criticizes the administration's handling of the war, accusing Zelensky of being out of touch with the realities on the ground.
Zelensky [03:49]: "We're gambling with World War Three. You're gambling with World War Three."
Zelensky challenges the administration's stance, expressing frustration over perceived interference and the ongoing conflict's high stakes.
Clay Travis offers a robust analysis of Trump's approach, arguing that the former president is realistically assessing the conflict's viability.
Clay Travis [05:00]: "The most important analysis here is Ukraine cannot win this war. If you believe that to be true... unless you're out there right now listening and you're saying... I want this to turn into a world war."
Clay contends that Trump's public declaration serves to expedite a potential ceasefire by acknowledging the limitations of American support and Ukraine's chances of victory without significant escalation involving American troops.
Notable Points:
Transitioning to domestic politics, Clay discusses the unfolding drama in Florida's gubernatorial race. Byron Donalds announced his candidacy, potentially challenging the influence of Ron DeSantis and his wife, Casey DeSantis, who may also enter the race.
Highlights:
J.D. Vance [26:03]: "Passionate, she's articulate, she's smart, she's got rock solid values."
Clay anticipates a fierce primary battle, highlighting the political maneuvering and endorsements shaping the race.
Clay engages with callers who offer diverse perspectives on the Ukraine conflict and Trump's policies.
Caller Art from Georgia [16:21]:
"I applaud Trump. I think he's playing from a position of strength and I hope he keeps it up because this is the only way sometimes to get through to people."
Caller Paul from California [33:48]:
"The United States has the ability to go to Russia and say you need, there needs to be a cease fire now and withdraw to your pre-war lines."
Clay responds critically to such viewpoints, reinforcing his stance that simple solutions like direct negotiation with Russia are insufficient without broader strategic support.
In wrapping up, Clay reiterates the two main takeaways from Trump's Oval Office encounter:
Clay emphasizes that Trump’s transparent approach may pave the way for peace, despite potential backlash. He also touches upon the broader implications of American involvement in global conflicts, questioning the extent of taxpayer money used to address international crises.
